0:13 Welcome into [music] gorgeous Eugene,

0:15 Oregon, where the party animals host the

0:17 Savannah Bananas for a second straight

0:19 day in Austin Stadium. We invited

0:21 [music]

0:22 60,000 of our closest friends out here

0:24 in the Pacific Northwest to join us for

0:26 the occasion and son of a gun, they all

0:28 showed up. The full capacity crowd last

0:30 night got to see a historic battle as it

0:33 was the first ever party animals

0:34 headlining game in a football stadium.

0:37 But it was the Bananas who stole the

0:38 show, bashing seven home runs [music] in

0:41 route to a 6-3 victory over their arch

0:43 rivals. And the plot thickens this

0:46 afternoon because across eight games

0:47 this year between the Superdome in New

0:49 Orleans, truest park in Atlanta, and now

0:52 Oddson Stadium in Eugene, the Bananas

0:54 and Party Animals are an [music] even

0:56 four and four against each other.

0:59 Something's got to break today as we

1:01 welcome you inside with the statistical

1:03 savant of Banana Ball. Josh Tleski, the

1:06 voice of the party animals, Drake Toli

1:08 and Bo Scala. Thank you so much for

1:10 spending your Sunday afternoon with us

1:12 here in virtual Banana Land. The pregame

1:14 show right here on ESPN 2. And then in a

1:16 half an hour for First Pitch, we hop

1:18 over to ABC for the ball game. And

1:20 Drake, this fantastic Party Animals

1:23 pitching staff. They have been at their

1:24 best against the Bananas this year. That

1:26 finally changed last night. Yeah, last

1:28 night that broke and it started with

1:29 Brett Helton who threw well in the first

1:31 inning, but after a couple of missed

1:32 trick plays in a home run from Kyle

1:34 Jackson, a three-run inning for the

1:35 Bananas and ultimately a point set the

1:37 boys in yellow off and they did not slow

1:40 down. Tonight, it's [music] Garrett

1:42 Deleno who is your quasi ace. He's right

1:45 there with Brett Held in that

1:46 conversation. For the best starting arm

1:48 of the party animals any given weekend,

1:50 you'll have to lean on the right. And on

1:52 the other side of the coin, this has

1:53 been a much maligned Bananas offense,

1:55 especially since midappril to now. But

1:57 the last four games, that has all

1:59 changed. Look, the tone was very much

2:00 set early. The Bananas threw five

2:02 innings against Brett Hilton, had 11

2:04 hits, and over half the guys in the

2:06 starting lineup, left the yard here in

2:08 Ason Stadium a night ago. So, this

2:10 offense has been dynamite. The Bananas

2:12 are as confident as any squad with their

2:15 bats right now. It's one thing for us

2:17 goofballs to yap about what happened

2:19 last night. It's a whole another to

2:21 feast your peepers on the moving

2:23 pictures as it all went down. The first

2:26 ever party animals headlining game in a

2:29 football stadium. And after two miss

2:31 trick plays, Kyle Jackson, the cleanup

2:33 man, doing what he does, a two-run shot.

2:36 It would be a three-run inning. And it

2:38 would stop there in part thanks to the

2:40 fans. Ty Jackson fouling out to the full

2:42 capacity crowd. And that was the 73rd

2:44 fan caught foul ball this season. The

2:46 12th in a football stadium. A cool

2:48 souvenir for those youngsters.

2:50 [music] And then Austin Drury taking

2:52 care of business. Bottom of the first.

2:54 Ryan Cox first trick play. Further

2:55 bananas. Nice scoop by Alex Ziggler to

2:57 turn those three runs into a point. And

2:59 then the captain opening up the second

3:01 inning. Big time bomb. The fifth of the

3:03 year for Loy. Yeah. And you saw some

3:05 season veterans who really made an

3:07 impact in the second inning. The 9-year

3:08 banana Bill Loy. [music] And then the

3:10 8-year Savannah Banana in Dan Over who

3:13 went the long way with an oppo taco

3:16 against Brett Hton.

3:17 >> Bananas are now well on their way to a

3:18 two points to zero lead. But here comes

3:20 Coach Bloom. The first pick the party

3:22 animals took off the board in the 2026

3:24 Banana Ball Championship League draft

3:26 goes yak to left field. Knots up the

3:29 second inning. The animals couldn't take

3:30 the inning. Just [music] stave off the

3:32 bananas. It remains one to zero. Yep,

3:34 that's the score. Bottom of the third

3:35 and now the Danners start flashing the

3:37 leather. Deep fly ball out to right from

3:39 Jason Swan. Reese selects Goddess behind

3:41 the back in the end zone and then pulls

3:44 off one of his signature poses. His

3:46 biggest fan Kyle Jackson fired up to see

3:48 the trick play and the one piece

3:50 celebration. And then his center fielder

3:51 Dr. Meadows getting dirty and avoiding

3:53 coach rack all in one fell swoop. Yeah.

3:55 And Austin Jury, he only allowed two

3:57 hits in that start. It [music] was

3:58 because of elite defense that he got

4:00 from the bananas behind him and of

4:02 course the offense as well. REESE SELECT

4:05 WITH HIS NINTH career home run in a

4:08 football stadium that helped propel the

4:10 Bananas to a two nothing lead and you

4:12 saw Ryan Cox once the party animals got

4:14 to their bullpen some opposite field

4:16 power. Have we forgotten the party

4:18 animals highlights to put into the

4:19 package today? Well, the problem here

4:21 Drake is that the Bananas hit seven home

4:23 runs. There's the second from Dan Over

4:24 his third career multi-H homer game. But

4:26 Chase Aub one of the three homers for

4:28 the Animals. My best friend Chase Aub

4:30 going deep to left. But again, that

4:31 problem it just tied the inning. It

4:33 didn't give the party animals a point.

4:35 And what a big moment for Jackson Olsson

4:37 coming off the bench. Threeun shot

4:39 straightaway center. Big swing from the

4:42 5-year Savannah Banana. And then the

4:44 clock runs out in the eighth inning. So

4:46 it's the final frame and every run

4:47 scored counts as a point. Big swing from

4:49 Reese Hampton. Yeah, that gives the

4:50 Bananas a sixpoint game. The Animals a

4:54 three-point game. 6-3 the score. Auff

4:56 [music] your last hope. It's over. Danny

4:58 Hosley comes in, strikes out Reeves and

5:01 Aka, slams the door on the 6-3 victory

5:05 as the Nanners slug their way to the win

5:08 on the opening night here in Eugene,

5:10 Oregon. And it's been a wild weekend of

5:13 Banana Ball. Take a look around the

5:15 Banana Ball Championship League. Last

5:17 night, of course, the [music] offensive

5:19 onslaught with the Savannah Bananas

5:21 leading the charge. And how about Kyle

5:24 Martin on a historic [music] pace, his

5:26 17th, 18th, and 19th home runs. He's

5:29 already set the single season pace. Now

5:30 he's just extending the record. That is

5:32 the fourth player in Banana Ball history

5:34 to have a three homer game. And the

5:36 Firefighters, what a rally. Five runs in

5:38 the ninth and then they won it in

5:39 showdown.

5:39 >> Yeah, I was on hand last week with Kyle

5:41 Martin. Hit that record-breaking 16th

5:42 home run. Got to talk to him postgame.

5:44 And man, what a great addition to our

5:46 sport. a rookie who's in his early

5:48 [music] 30s and carries not just a

5:50 veteran bat, but a veteran mentality in

5:52 the sport of banana ball. He's new to

5:54 this whole thing, but he's had a bat in

5:55 his hands for nearly 20 years. Well,

5:57 it's like Banana Ball now has [music]

5:59 98. Mark Maguire or Sammy Sosa in this

6:01 sport with the pace at which he hits

6:03 these home runs. And [music] I'll tell

6:05 you, Kyle Martin helped keep the

6:07 tailgator tied at the top of these

6:09 Banana Ball Championship League [music]

6:11 standings with the Savannah Bananas. A

6:13 very big win for the Texas Tailgator who

6:16 have already clenched a playoff spot as

6:18 well thanks to winning the Banana Ball

6:20 Open in midappril. But the Party Animals

6:23 are trying to creep closer and closer to

6:25 the Naners and Gator sitting at the top.

6:28 Yeah, if the Party Animals are able to

6:29 win this contest today, they can again

6:31 position themselves still in that top

6:33 four, but in a better spot, get home

6:35 field advantage in the postseason.

6:37 That's the goal for the teams above that

6:39 red cut line. And the firefighters and

6:41 Clowns right now are competing just to

6:42 get into the playoff conversation. Yeah,

6:44 the firefighters and clowns split the

6:46 two game set in Fargo. So, they are

6:48 still looking at three and a half games

6:50 out of the playoff picture for the

6:51 Firefighters. Four uh four and a half

6:54 back for the Indianapolis Clouds. When

6:56 we return, we're celebrating the 6-year

6:59 birthday of our beloved sport of Banana

7:01 Ball. After this, it's time to party.

7:09 >> [music]

7:15 >> Oh,

7:19 playing the long corner is our fearless

7:22 leader, number eight, Bryson Bloomer.

7:29 at shortstop wearing number 11 chase the

7:33 chosen a

7:36 [groaning]

7:39 >> and right behind him he's from the 407

7:43 Mike Bard

7:48 at second base the party animal's very

7:51 own leprechaun Dustin Got his name.

7:59 >> She's the chick with the trick. Number

8:02 one,

8:10 wearing number two.

8:12 >> The man with the Jason.

8:20 And behind the plane is our violent

8:22 superstar number five.

8:30 >> And behind the plate weary number 41.

8:41 >> He's our designated everything number

8:43 40.

9:03 [music]

9:14 [music]

9:15 presented by DQ. DQ Happy Tastes Good.

9:20 We bring [music] you more pre-show

9:21 action here on ESPN 2 before we'll have

9:24 First Pitch at 400 [music] p.m. Eastern

9:26 over on ABC. From the University of

9:29 Oregon and Stadium, the Party Animals

9:32 dancing and the Manners sitting by

9:36 watching. It [music] was 6 years and two

9:38 days ago, June 26th, 2020, that we had

9:43 the first ever Banana Ball game [music]

9:45 played in front of fans. It was a

9:46 scrimmage between the green and yellow

9:49 bananas. A thousand [music] fans in Gree

9:52 Stadium. Remember this is right in the

9:53 middle of CO. So we had to have half

9:55 capacity. Masks, gloves, the [music]

9:57 whole nine yards to make sure that we

9:59 were able to play our young sport in a

10:01 safe manner. And how about Bo Scalla,

10:03 [music] 23 years young, the first

10:05 Bananas game he ever broadcast. Just a

10:08 young whippers snapper from upstate New

10:09 [music] York exploring Savannah, Georgia

10:11 for the first time. Boy, you have not

10:12 lost your charm, have you? I got to grow

10:15 the hair back out. And Bill Loy [music]

10:17 second plate appearance in Banana Ball

10:18 history after Ben Anderson was hit by a

10:20 pitch. Loy is going to have the first

10:23 sprint in the history of our young

10:25 sport. And it's going to be a four-based

10:26 sprint because [music] well, the

10:28 defenders had not quite adopted a a

10:30 strategy for defending such a play

10:33 before. [music] Bill all the way around

10:34 and John Michael fail the catcher got

10:36 the ball. Bill was pretty much already

10:37 back in the dugout at that point.

10:39 [music] Uh we have come a long way since

10:42 then, but there are still some stars who

10:44 were in that game [music] in the sport

10:46 today. How about Bill Loy, Kyle Lewis,

10:48 Dan Over, and then Jose Gonzalez Jr.

10:50 back into Banana Ball, the rookie on the

10:52 Texas Tailgator. Yeah, and you saw the

10:54 impact [music] of a lot of these guys on

10:55 last night's game. Loy and Over with

10:57 some home runs for the Nanners. Kyle

10:59 [music] Lewis came out of the bullpen,

11:01 struck out two guys, all of them, even

11:03 all these years later, still helping

11:05 lead the Nanners to wins. And meanwhile,

11:07 brother, he's been such a big offensive

11:09 force in that Gator [music] lineup all

11:11 season. We got to hear from Loy Luig and

11:14 over thanks [music] to our man down on

11:16 the field, Sam Bowman SB. What do these

11:19 guys have to say about this wild

11:20 journey? Guys, it's hard to believe

11:24 six years ago, the first ever banana

11:26 ball game played in front of a crowd and

11:28 these three guys right here were all

11:30 part of it. They still look so young.

11:32 Bill, I'm going to start with you. What

11:33 do you remember from that game six years

11:35 ago? First of all, Sam, I'm just happy

11:37 to hang out with you today, man. You

11:38 look great.

11:39 >> Thanks for asking.

11:40 >> Um, four scoring six years ago, we

11:42 played a banana ball game. Um, the first

11:45 one ever. And I remember the first at

11:47 bat, I drew a walk, which in banana ball

11:49 is a little bit different. Obviously,

11:50 it's called the sprint. And I ran from

11:52 home all the way back to home and scored

11:55 inside the park home run on a walk. And

11:56 that's how banana ball started.

11:58 >> Different. Different. Danny, talk to me

12:01 about what it's like to go from that to

12:03 then stuff like this. 60,000 folks

12:05 football stadium.

12:07 >> Yeah. I mean, Bill started it and paved

12:09 the way. I I don't know if we're here if

12:11 Bill doesn't get that ball for sprint

12:12 inside the park homer. It set the tone

12:14 for what this was going to be. But, uh,

12:17 in all honesty, this is awesome and

12:18 super thankful to be here and the

12:20 support we've had and I'm excited to do

12:22 it again today here.

12:23 >> Kyle, finally here. You've roommed with

12:25 both of these guys before. I know you're

12:27 not living together anymore. Fond

12:29 memories of cuddling up with these guys

12:31 over the past six years.

12:32 >> Oh, yeah. Why'd you have to bring that

12:33 up, man? Man, I wish I still lived with

12:34 them. Um, yeah, a lot of good food was

12:37 eaten um in the houses that we've

12:38 shared. Um, me and Dan down the stretch

12:40 even had a uh two beds in one room that

12:43 we shared. Um, pretty awesome moments, a

12:46 lot of fires, um, a lot of hanging out,

12:48 and um, I think that that's the way that

12:50 every rookie um, going into, you know,

12:53 if they're going to play for nine to

12:55 anywhere from 9 to 35 years, that's how

12:57 that they should have to do it.

12:59 >> Can I add one more thing?

12:59 >> Yeah, please.

13:00 >> I just want to thank Bill again for

13:01 paving the way.

13:02 >> Yeah. Thank you, Bill.

13:03 >> Yeah, he literally got us to Oregon.

13:05 >> Yeah.

13:06 >> Lunch on me, Bill. Thank you for doing

13:07 this.

13:07 >> We all We all owe it to Bill Leroy.

13:10 Guys, here's to 35 more years or

13:12 whatever.

13:13 >> Yeah.

13:17 >> Thank you, Sam. Thank you, guys. Those

13:19 are three of the leaders of this sport.

13:20 Whether you're a party animal fan, a

13:22 coconuts fan, those are the players you

13:23 look to to lead Banana Ball. We've got

13:25 more pregame action here on ESPN 2 after

13:28 this.

13:30 [music]

13:41 Once per game, each team can send to the

13:44 plate any hitter at any point in the

13:49 lineup. But why tell you when we can

13:53 show you? Jake Williams, take it away.

14:00 Now you know the rules of banana and it

14:04 in accordance with banana ball's golden

14:06 batter rule. The party animals are

14:09 invoking THE USE OF TODAY'S first

14:11 ceremonial golden batter of the game.

14:15 Ladies and gentlemen, this batter's

14:17 favorite color is red. He is currently

14:20 sporting his first ever loose tooth and

14:24 he is 6 years old. Ladies and gentlemen,

14:29 welcome to the plate from right here in

14:32 Eugene, Oregon, your golden batter,

14:35 Ramy.

14:44 Here he comes in party animals pink

14:47 looking to hit a home run against these

14:48 Savannah Bananas.

14:51 He awaits the first pitch from Ty to Fly

14:54 Jackson. And it's a SWING AND A MISS for

14:57 strike one.

14:59 >> The count is 0 and one. Ty Jackson fires

15:02 up the crowd.

15:04 Gets set with an enormous glove.

15:09 The second pitch according to Vincent

15:11 Chapman is just outside. The count is

15:14 even at one and one.

15:17 The pressure is on for the Golden

15:19 Batter, but Remy fears nothing.

15:22 >> The 1-1 pitch is on its way and it's

15:24 swung on and missed. He's down to his

15:28 last strike.

15:34 [music]

15:36 Welcome back to our 2026 Banana Ball

15:39 World Tour pre-show presented by DQ. DQ.

15:43 Happy tastes good. Over 60,000 [music]

15:46 fans ready to rumble for the conclusion

15:49 to this two game set here in Autton

15:51 Stadium on the campus of the University

15:53 of Oregon. And I say we check in on one

15:57 of the legendary pregame ceremonies. How

16:00 about the home run hitter?

16:03 He's the first golden batter [music] of

16:04 the game of the party animals in a

16:06 ceremonial nod to that six-year-old

16:08 who's got a loose tooth and he's a loose

16:11 cannon finding his way to home plate and

16:14 hitting a home run in front of 60,000

16:15 [music]

16:17 here at Oxen Stadium. The roar of the

16:20 crowd and that's the kind of stuff

16:21 that'll keep that kid [music] with a bat

16:22 in his hands the rest of his life.

16:24 Impressive evasive maneuvers party

16:27 [music] animals and the fans alike

16:28 thrilled about it. Let's zoom in on the

16:30 core of Banana Ball. Rule number [music]

16:32 one, you win the inning, you get the

16:34 point. That changes in the final inning

16:36 where every run scored counts as a

16:38 point. And if the time runs out before

16:39 the ninth inning, like [music] happened

16:41 last night, the current frame turns into

16:43 the final inning. Every run scored

16:45 counts as a point. Yeah. And this win

16:47 the inning, get the point, there's an

16:49 opportunity to [music] tie the inning.

16:50 Last night, the party animals had four

16:52 combined runs that equated to zero

16:55 points because the bananas had already

16:57 scored [music] a couple runs in the

16:58 inning. So if you score a couple runs,

16:59 you go to the next inning without an

17:01 added point to either squat. Having the

17:03 animals twice last night, you have to

17:04 execute [music] and strike for points

17:07 when able. Yeah, you have seen that

17:09 there were points of plenty for the

17:11 Savannah Bananas and especially as

17:12 [music] of late. Animals have had one of

17:14 the best earn run averages against the

17:16 Bananas than any opponent. And of

17:19 course, you saw 10 earn runs in eight

17:20 innings pitched. But the [music] big

17:22 mark, the Bananas scored in 70% of their

17:25 offensive innings a weekend ago. They

17:27 scored [music] in six of eight last

17:28 night. And you see the average points up

17:31 by three in their last four games

17:33 compared to the 19 they had played

17:36 before this stretch. The pitching staff

17:38 for the Savannah Bananas, one of the

17:39 best in the sport. [music] That's been a

17:41 constant since their first game this

17:43 year. But the offense, it's been a

17:44 little jackal and height, a roller

17:46 coaster ride. This Bananas [music] team

17:48 started 11 and one. Since then, they

17:50 have crashed down to earth, but they

17:52 have survived and share [music] first

17:54 place with the Texas Tailgators because

17:56 the offense has come alive again across

17:59 these last four games. And we will see

18:01 the starting lineup for the Savannah

18:03 Bananas as well as the headlining party

18:05 animals after these short messages.

18:11 life. [music]

18:13 And here are the members of our

18:17 original world famous band.

18:24 [music]

18:26 And right away, the official band of the

18:30 party animals party [music] down.

18:36 They are the greatest dad cheer squad to

18:41 ever grace God's greeter. Give it up for

18:44 the man.

20:16 >> Welcome back to the pre-show [music]

20:18 action here. The conclusion of a two

20:20 game set in Opson Stadium in Eugene,

20:22 Oregon. The Savannah Bananas victors

20:24 last night. The headlining [music] at

20:26 home team Party Animals looking to even

20:29 the series here this afternoon with over

20:31 60,000 fans on hand for the occasion. It

20:34 was incredibly [music] cool last night

20:35 to see a whole lot of folks show up for

20:37 the Savannah Bananas. And despite that

20:39 Bananas win, leave with an affinity for

20:41 the [music] Party Animals. They take

20:42 over as the home team this weekend and

20:45 it is shown. It's the growth of the

20:47 sport when folks leave in pink. [music]

20:49 Speaking of those party animals, our

20:51 full capacity crowd is about to get

20:53 their starting lineup.

20:57 Coming from the bottom of section five,

20:58 the first baseman number two J.

21:04 [screaming and groaning]

21:16 shall

21:25 catch number one.

21:36 The center fielder number six

21:40 Hampton

21:53 78

21:55 number three TJ

22:07 Coming from above the title section 20

22:09 and 21, the short number

22:54 second baseman number nine

23:14 >> something

23:18 extra hitter

23:19 >> number 12

23:23 [screaming]

23:32 from above this tunnel of section 32

23:35 left fields

23:39 Mark

23:40 Bell.

23:54 Coming from the first base,

23:57 today's starting pitcher

24:00 for wearing champ.

24:04 [screaming]

24:12 >> The head coach of the party is Mike

24:13 Baba. He is assisted by Thomas Shady

24:17 Simol and Anthony.

24:27 The cast is ready, the players are

24:30 ready, and now it's time for you, you

24:33 the fans, to get ready. So, we need

24:35 everyone who was able to GET UP OUT OF

24:39 YOUR SEATS, ON YOUR FEET, and please

24:42 help me welcome tonight's fan warm-up

24:45 leader, six-year-old Olivia.

24:50 All

24:54 right, here's how it's going to go.

24:57 Whatever you do, this whole sold out

25:00 stadium is going to do. Are you ready?

25:05 >> Let's party.

25:07 >> Let's party everyone.

25:13 >> Start with the claps.

25:38 Where do you want to live?

25:48 jumping jack.

25:56 We got some more. Alia, this whole

25:59 stadium is cheering for you.

26:02 [screaming]

26:03 Give it up one more time.

26:31 ladies, GENTLEMEN, BOYS AND GIRLS,

26:35 potassium enthusiasts from around the

26:37 world, today you and thousands of your

26:40 friends here live and millions more

26:42 watching at home have gathered here to

26:45 witness something beyond your wildest

26:47 imagination. From Montana to Savannah,

26:52 FROM THE ISLAND OF MAN TO TOKYO, JAPAN,

26:55 the Banana Maniacs come from across the

26:57 globe to witness this. This is not

27:02 baseball. This is the crucible where the

27:05 fastest, hungriest, and most

27:07 entertaining players are forced. This is

27:09 a GAME OF THE FANS, I THE FANS, and for

27:13 the fans. But this is not your

27:16 granddad's pastime. This is not just

27:19 another day at the ballpark. This game

27:22 is baseball by birth, FRUIT BY NAME, and

27:25 an absolute worldwide phenomenon by the

27:28 grace of God. This is the time for all

27:32 16,000 volunteers IN HERE

27:37 to get off YOUR FEET AND GIVE ME YOUR

27:41 voices

27:45 >> because this is the greatest show in

27:49 sports. Ladies and gentlemen, this is

27:53 Bun.

28:00 It's now time to be the starting lineup

28:02 for the South Carolina.

28:07 Living off the center fielder, number

28:09 five, Dion Meadows.

28:16 Batting second, the first baseman number

28:18 nine, Max Young.

28:25 >> Batting third, the designated hitter,

28:27 number 19, TAN.

28:35 That clean up the third base, number

28:37 four, Kyle KJ.

28:43 [cheering]

28:47 left field number 15

28:50 [music]

28:58 to right field number two

29:07 the extra number seven

29:15 >> [cheering]

29:17 >> Got to make the short stop. Number six,

29:21 Ryan.

29:28 >> Let's catch it. Number one, Bill

29:33 R.

29:42 I'm getting ready.

30:05 >> [cheering]

30:09 >> The head coach for this man is Tyler G.

30:13 Adam Bryce.

30:22 >> We've got the starting lineups. The only

30:24 thing left to do is play banana ball.

30:26 We're going to keep it locked right here

30:28 on ESPN 2 until the X Games conclude

30:31 over on ABC. So, don't move a muscle.

30:34 First pitch right after this.

30:39 [music]

30:56 by the dawn early

31:00 light.

31:02 What so proud

31:04 we

31:06 at the twilight [singing]

31:08 lasting

31:11 who's broad stripes and bright stars

31:15 [singing]

31:17 through the perilous

31:20 [music and singing]

31:24 we

31:26 were so galling.

31:32 And the rockets

31:41 gave proof through the night

31:45 that our flag was still [singing] there.

31:51 Oh, say

31:54 that star spangled [music and singing]

31:58 yet.

32:03 >> [cheering]

32:05 >> You're the land

32:08 of the free

32:13 and the heart

32:16 of the

32:18 brave.

32:24 Stay standing.

32:26 Put your hand on the person to your

32:28 right. Put your hand on the person.

32:42 >> Banana Ball is the fastest and most

32:44 entertaining show in sports. And the 11

32:47 rules guarantee the most fans first

32:49 experience [music] every second.

32:51 >> Unbelievable. Welcome to the Banana Ball

32:53 Championship League.

32:55 >> Rule number one, win the inning, win the

32:57 point. The team that scores the most

32:59 runs in the inning wins the point.

33:01 >> It's a walkoff winner.

33:05 Oh my goodness.

33:06 >> With the equalizer point, trick plays

33:08 provide the away team an opportunity to

33:11 earn a point going into the final

33:12 inning.

33:13 >> And in the final inning, every run

33:15 counts as a point. Rule number two,

33:18 Banana Ball has a 2hour time limit,

33:20 guaranteeing that every game is

33:22 fast-paced and action-packed. Rule

33:25 number three, no stepping out of the

33:27 batter's box. [music] If you do, it will

33:29 result in a strike.

33:30 >> Max stepped out of the box and because

33:32 he stepped out of the box, that's it.

33:34 >> Rule number four, no bunting, [music]

33:36 cuz bunting sucks. If you bunt, you'll

33:39 be thrown out of the game. Rule number

33:41 five, batters can steal first base.

33:44 >> Three, get it. taken out for first throw

33:46 from Leroy in time.

33:48 >> Rule number six, there's [music] no

33:50 walks. Walks are ball force sprints. The

33:53 batter can advance as far as they want

33:55 until every position player touches the

33:57 ball.

33:58 >> No defenders have touched the banana

34:00 ball. It is a ball sprint to open up the

34:03 ball game.

34:04 >> Rule number seven, no mound visits.

34:07 [music]

34:08 >> Nope. Rule number eight, foul balls

34:11 caught by a fan count as an out. Yes.

34:15 Ted Gordon of [music] the showdown.

34:19 >> Rule number nine, the showdowns. In

34:22 showdowns, the best of the best face off

34:24 in the biggest moment. One hitter verse

34:27 one pitcher with one fielder behind him.

34:29 And the hitter has to center. Cuater.

34:36 >> Rule number 10. The banana ball

34:37 challenge rule gives the coaches and

34:39 you, the fans, a chance to impact a call

34:42 on the field. Rule number 11, the golden

34:46 battle. Once a game, each team can give

34:48 any player in it back regardless of the

34:50 lineup. This offers the biggest matchups

34:53 on the biggest stage.

34:54 >> Big

35:02 thing.

35:05 And those are the rules of Banana Ball.

35:15 We'll break the stratosphere. [music]

35:21 We'll break the stratosphere. [music]

35:26 We'll break the stratosphere.

35:31 We'll break the stratosphere.

35:35 Blast it KJ two red tape and a cup waste

36:01 welcome in to Banana Ball live on ESPN

36:04 We come to you from beautiful Eugene,

36:07 Oregon, [music] where over 60,000 fans

36:09 have gathered once again in Oxen Stadium

36:12 for the greatest show in sports. It's

36:15 the grand conclusion to a twoame set

36:17 between the Savannah Bananas and their

36:19 arch rival, the Party Animals. The

36:21 Bananas slumped their way to a 6-3 win

36:23 last night [music]

36:24 and turn to their crafty southpaw Noah

36:27 Misnik as they hunt a series sweep while

36:29 the party animals counter with their

36:32 longest tenure starting pitcher Garrett

36:34 Delena. It is a brisk Sunday afternoon

36:38 here in the Emerald City, 59° and cloudy

36:41 as fog blankets the Cobberg Hills off in

36:43 the distance. In the fourth round, it's

36:46 the 20 and [music] 14 Bananas who share

36:48 first place with the Texas Tailgator and

36:50 the 18 and 17 Party Animals right on

36:53 their heels. Just two and a half games

36:54 back as we welcome you inside with the

36:56 statistical savant of Banana Ball. Josh

36:58 Tleski, the voice of the party animals,

37:00 Drake Tol. I am Bo Scalla. Thank you so

37:02 much for spending your Sunday afternoon

37:04 with us here in virtual Banana Land.

37:07 Heck of a battle last night. Party

37:09 Animals looking for the series split

37:10 after their pitching staff got clobbered

37:12 by that Nanners offense. I mean, dozens

37:14 of story lines we can get to going into

37:16 this one, but I've still got chills over

37:18 the crowds we've had both last night and

37:20 now today here in Eugene, Oregon, coming

37:23 to the Pacific Northwest, every time we

37:25 do blows me away. Seven home runs from

37:27 the Bananas last night a couple weeks

37:29 ago, that might be very surprising, but

37:31 after 40 runs put on the board last

37:33 weekend in three games against the

37:34 Clowns in Great American Ballpark, this

37:36 is part for the course all of a sudden.

37:38 Yeah. And it's only 190 ft to the left

37:40 field foul pole. So, the recipe for

37:42 success, especially for the bananas and

37:44 the party animals alike, is if you can

37:46 get the long ball, you're going to like

37:48 your chances to win this contest. It's

37:50 the bananas, though, looking to be

37:52 winners of four of their last five, the

37:55 original rivalry in the sport. They

37:57 combined for 10 home runs last night.

37:59 That was one shy of tying the banana

38:02 ball record, which each of these two

38:04 teams have been a part of the both times

38:05 it has happened in the past at Clemson

38:07 and Charlotte. Let's get a look at the

38:09 Party Animals defensive alignment

38:11 brought to you by Damon Busters. Yeah,

38:14 and you'll start with Jace Auff. 70

38:16 trick plays at the shortstop spot is the

38:18 most by any party animal this season. 38

38:21 from Ree Hampton sets the pace for your

38:23 outfielders. And Bryson Bloomer is the

38:25 designated fielder today. He will start

38:27 at third base despite not being in the

38:30 batting lineup. Each of those guys will

38:32 back up Garrett Deleno. He wears triple

38:35 sevens and starts on the mound for the

38:37 party animals in black and pink today.

38:39 The Callahan Florida kid has been a

38:42 staple of this league and a staple of

38:45 fans first entertainment. A former

38:47 collegiate Savannah Banana Garrett

38:50 Deleno is one of the aces of this staff.

38:52 You could argue between him and Brent

38:54 Helton. One of those two guys leads the

38:57 way for the black and pink. and Deleno

39:00 talking to him pregame is as locked in

39:02 as ever knowing that 60,000 folks are

39:05 awaiting his start. Yeah, this is the

39:08 fifth world tour for Triple 7s. It is

39:10 his seventh year in the organization

39:13 going back to those collegiate Savannah

39:15 Bananas days in the summers of 2018 and

39:18 2019. It means there's a lot of familiar

39:21 foes on the other side of the diamond.

39:23 Let's get a look at the Savannah Banana

39:25 starting lineup brought to you by PNC

39:27 Bank. It's the doctor at the top, Dr.

39:30 Meadows. Then Max Young Goldberg, Dan

39:31 Overst, who had two home runs last

39:33 night. Kyle Jackson, the cleanup man,

39:35 had one himself. Then Robert Anthony

39:37 Cruz, Reese Alexi, the greatest hitter

39:39 in the young history of football

39:41 stadiums in Banana Ball with Tai

39:43 Jackson, Ryan Cox, Bill Loy, and Jackson

39:45 Olsson to round it out. Right now,

39:46 you've got to be looking out for Over

39:48 and Kyle Jackson. They have been the

39:50 stars for the Bananas offensively.

39:52 Jackson eight runs batted in in his last

39:54 three games and overs four home runs in

39:57 his last three contests.

40:01 We talked about it. Seven long balls for

40:03 the squad.

40:06 All of the six bananas that combined for

40:09 those seven home runs in the starting

40:11 lineup once again this afternoon here in

40:14 Eugene.

40:18 >> [music]

40:22 >> And we welcome you into Banana Ball live

40:25 on ABC. Hope the X Games were a blast.

40:28 Here's the greatest show in sports. Down

40:30 [music] to AJ Kers we go.

40:32 >> Has arrived. It is time to kick off the

40:35 greatest party in sports. We're going to

40:38 start the patented banana ball 2hour

40:41 time limit clock. And to do that, we're

40:44 going to count it down. But instead of

40:45 zero, I need each and every one of you

40:48 to yell, "Start the party as loud as you

40:52 can." Let's count it down. 3 2 1

41:04 >> Bo Scallow with Josh Tlesfi and Drake

41:06 Tol in the booth. Sam Bowman is down on

41:08 the field. We have over 60,000 fans on

41:12 hand for a second straight game here in

41:15 the football home of the Oregon Ducks.

41:18 Dr. Meadows takes the fast ball up and

41:20 out for ball one. Vincent Chapman, the

41:22 dancing home [music] plate umpire with

41:24 the call

41:27 as we are underway. A quick 20 count on

41:29 the doctor here in his fourth Banana

41:31 Ball World Tour. Deleno on the mound.

41:33 This is his fifth world tour.

41:36 Big swing of miss from Dr. who was three

41:38 for four last night, got his 300th

41:41 career hit in his illustrious banana

41:43 ball career as he catches this one to

41:45 Chase A between the legs transfer. Jason

41:48 Swan behind the back. Double trick play

41:51 TO GET US GOING TODAY. CHOSEN ONE TO

41:53 PLAY AT SHORTSTOP and Swatty going

41:54 behind the back after two missed trick

41:57 plays in the first inning last night.

42:00 Swan wants redemption and with the ever

42:02 important equalizer point, trick plays

42:04 are key in the sport of banana ball.

42:06 Jason Swan. I put the team on my back

42:08 though.

42:10 Max Young Goldberg [music] digs in. Star

42:13 rookie for this Savannah Banana squad.

42:15 He is the only rookie [music] in the

42:17 starting lineup. Their second round

42:18 draft pick out of Palo Alto, California.

42:21 Fresh off setting the Pioneer League

42:24 single season record, 130 RBI's last

42:27 year.

42:29 And he's taken our young sport by storm.

42:32 Down swinging here, a victim of Garrett

42:34 Deleno. And here comes one of the most

42:37 infamous celebrations. Are we going to

42:39 get the crab? There it is. You had to

42:41 get the crab. The 45th strikeout for

42:44 Deleno in his 603rd third innings pitch

42:46 this season.

42:48 >> That kid from Callahan, Florida. Man

42:51 feels good early. Yet we've seen him

42:53 pick up in the strikeout department

42:55 since [music] the month of April began.

42:57 And for Triple 7, his last seven

42:59 appearances on the Pitchers mount, he's

43:01 only allowed one home run on that mound.

43:04 And that's really important when you

43:06 consider the dimensions here in Opson

43:08 Stadium. 190 ft to left field, albeit

43:11 with 50 foot nets, courtesy of Netting

43:13 Pros. A ball and a strike to Dan Oburst,

43:15 a fellow Fidian hailing from Largo. This

43:18 is his eighth year on the Savannah

43:19 Bananas.

43:21 And he is scorching hot even though he

43:23 looks silly on that slatter from Delo.

43:26 Two home runs last night, four homers

43:28 across his last three games.

43:31 These two are great friends, too.

43:33 jiu-jitsu sparring partners. They played

43:36 a lot of baseball, banana ball, and and

43:40 jiu-jitsu together. If one can play such

43:43 a thing, go poke by, but the wrong part

43:46 of the park.

43:48 Reese Hampton tracks it down and a one,

43:51 two, three frame for Delena. And the

43:53 animals pick up two trick plays, throw

43:55 up a zero, and that's 2 minutes and 31

43:58 seconds in the top of the first inning

44:00 for Garrett Deleno. That meets a lot of

44:02 those banana ball marks you're looking

44:04 for. Party animals will just need one

44:07 run to earn the first point available

44:09 here for either team. Here's how the

44:11 bananas align defensively. [music]

44:13 Brought to you by Dave and Busters. Left

44:14 to right in their outfield. It's Robert

44:16 Anthony Cruz, Dr. Meadows, and Reese

44:18 Select. Yatis third to first in the

44:20 infield. [music] Kyle Jackson, Ryan Cox,

44:22 Jackson Olsen, and then Alex Ziggler who

44:24 is the designated fielder. Max Young

44:26 Goldberg is starting in the lineup.

44:28 Penciled in as the first baseman, but

44:30 the designated [music] fielder can be

44:31 anywhere in the field at any point in

44:33 the ball game. The Nanners deciding to

44:35 use Ziggler, who has the second most

44:37 trick plays on the team to start right

44:39 from the get-go at first base and Bill

44:40 Loy behind the plate. Yeah, this is a

44:43 very confident defense behind today's

44:45 starting pitcher and Noah Nisnik making

44:46 his 14th start in 2026. Nisnik a two and

44:50 four record and he has lost three of his

44:52 last four starts. He's been rather rocky

44:55 when he has pitched as the away team

44:57 this season, a 6.64 earn run average and

45:00 20 and a third innings pitch, but he

45:02 still owns a 109 RA plus this season,

45:06 indicating he has been 9% better than

45:08 the tour average pitcher. And he's been

45:11 tricky on these animals. They're batting

45:12 a buck 75 against the Nanner Southpaw.

45:16 That's across 10 and two third innings.

45:18 Just three runs scored. And the Party

45:19 Animals need [music] a boost today

45:21 against Noah Nisnik, who they've

45:22 struggled against historically. And they

45:24 need that boost after a tough night last

45:25 night. Let's take a look at our starting

45:26 lineups brought to you by PNC Bank. Just

45:29 five hits for the Black and Pink. And

45:31 they did not net a point until the

45:33 eighth inning in yesterday's game, but

45:35 they're led by the MVP Jake Skull. And

45:38 then one of the hardest men to strike

45:39 out in this sport, Jason Swan, just for

45:41 the rookie of the year, Andy Cosgrove,

45:43 to sit at the three spot. But if Skull

45:45 does what Skull did in 2025, and that's

45:48 hit a long ball right here, leading the

45:50 tour a year ago, the inning's over. The

45:52 point is awarded to Party Animals. It is

45:55 a gauntlet this Party Animals lineup as

45:58 Jake Skull takes the fast ball high. Was

46:01 0 for three last night. A ball for

46:02 sprint and a stolen base, which is great

46:04 to see as he's been working his way back

46:06 from a strained right hamstring and

46:08 finds the four hole. Three bananas on

46:11 the right side of the infield. sneaks it

46:13 through Olson and Cruz inning winning

46:15 run is a boner.

46:16 >> Yeah, Skull told me last week he said

46:18 for the rest of this year I'm staying

46:19 down on the ball. I don't need to hit

46:22 for power. If I got to become a contact

46:24 guy to help this team win, work on ball

46:26 four sprints limiting strikeouts. That's

46:28 what I'll do. That's what he just did.

46:31 Jason Swang

46:33 here in his fourth Banana Ball World

46:35 Tour with the Party Animals. His fifth

46:37 year in the sport after he debuted with

46:39 the Bananas summer of 2022.

46:41 >> He is so valuable. Well, you see that

46:43 345 batting average, second best on the

46:46 team

46:50 and pacing

46:52 the Animals with a 448 on base

46:55 percentage.

46:56 Rarely strikes out as Drake mentioned

46:59 6.7%

47:01 of his plate appearances he strikes out.

47:03 That's third best in the sport and

47:04 that's why he's been elevated up to this

47:06 two-hole. Swanie, his former career best

47:08 average just 324 and Skull nearly caught

47:12 leading a little too much. Was thinking

47:15 about advancing on that pitch in the

47:16 turf and able to slide back just ahead

47:19 of that throw from Loy. Is Ziggy's tag

47:22 instead of going down to the bag, he

47:24 jumped out and

47:26 this won't matter. JASON SWAN DEEP LEFT

47:30 FIELD. WALK OFF THE FIRST. IT'S A BIG

47:33 FLY FOR SWANY. HIS FIRST OF 2026.

47:37 And the Party Animals

47:39 lead 1 point to zero

47:42 in front of 60,000

47:45 here in Austin Stadium.

47:49 Swanyy's first home run since June the

47:52 7th, 2025 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

47:56 Getting the Animals jump started early.

48:01 They didn't score a point until the

48:02 eighth inning last night. They jump out

48:05 in front. One inning in. Party Animals

48:07 lead one point to nil. [music]

48:14 [music]

48:19 >> Most valuable parent. I'm here with

48:24 three and 1 halfyear-old Shayen and of

48:27 course mom and dad. We're going to

48:29 Jaylen a few questions and all she has

48:32 to do is choose mom or dad and whomever

48:35 she doesn't choose is going to catch a

48:38 pie in the face.

48:41 Shayen, question number one. Who makes

48:46 yummier food?

48:49 >> Mom makes yumier food.

48:52 >> Dad down on her knee in three, TWO, ONE.

48:57 RIGHT IN THE FACE.

49:00 All right, Shaylen. Question number two.

49:04 Who

49:06 >> is a better dancer?

49:10 >> Mom again.

49:13 Mom is two for two and right to the

49:17 face.

49:20 >> All right, Jaylen. Third and final

49:22 question.

49:23 >> Who

49:25 gives better hugs?

49:28 Dad

49:30 to in the end

49:32 catching a high to the face.

49:36 One more time. [music]

49:46 >> Welcome back to [music] Banana Ball live

49:48 on ABC. Over 60,000 fans here with us in

49:52 Ason Stadium. And look at the wonky

49:54 dimensions. Just 190 ft down [music] the

49:56 left field line where there is a 50ft

49:58 net courtesy of netting pros. And then

50:00 it's only 270 to straight away center

50:03 where the net ends. It's 387 out to deep

50:06 right. [music] That's where we saw Dan

50:07 Over fly out to Reese Hampton in the top

50:09 of the first and right field down the

50:11 line. 348. And Kyle Jackson took

50:13 advantage of that 190 ft distance in

50:17 left field last night. A home run in his

50:19 first at bat against the Party Animals.

50:22 He leads off the second for the bananas.

50:24 Video game numbers for KJ here in his

50:27 second full world tour. His third year

50:30 as a Savannah Banana after he debuted in

50:32 the sport with the visitors in 2024.

50:34 Banana Ball's developmental team.

50:38 Two balls and a strike on the pride of

50:41 Bowling Green, Ohio. Caner's [music]

50:42 team leader reaching base at a 489 clip

50:45 after he led all of last year's tour.

50:48 reaching base 481. [music]

50:52 So consistent

50:54 and such a precise swing bat rect ball

50:57 and [music] he's put together his best

50:58 month since he started the tour this

51:00 year. A 407 mark here in June. Five

51:03 extra base hits, 11 batted in and fouls

51:07 off another 22 pitch from Triple 7.

51:13 It's KJ Cruz and Alexi

51:17 leading off the top of the second

51:18 inning.

51:21 That one just misses below the knees.

51:23 Yep. Andy Cosro, the catcher for the

51:25 Animals today, held it out just a tick

51:27 [music] longer.

51:29 Full count pitch

51:32 popped right side. Dustin Ber, his first

51:36 chance of the weekend. He'll catch it

51:37 the oldfashioned way, backpedaling,

51:39 taking no chances. That's creeping into

51:40 no man's land there in right field. Vber

51:43 could have gone up for a pop, maybe go

51:44 behind the back

51:47 >> with a double trick play for the party

51:48 animals in the first inning. It takes a

51:50 little bit of pressure off of you. The

51:51 banana still at zero trick plays. I

51:53 think Ber makes the right decision just

51:55 to go clean catch. Well, I think if you

51:57 get an earlier call from somebody

51:59 ranging out to field that banana ball,

52:01 that's where you potentially see the

52:02 trick play. That was a wise decision

52:05 from Dustin Baver. Again, we saw how

52:06 much those trick plays missed and errors

52:08 hurt the party animals beginning last

52:10 night's contest. Big swing from Robert

52:13 Anthony Cruz. Get used to that. Former

52:16 Washington Nationals minor leaguer here

52:17 in his third Banana Ball World Tour. And

52:21 that's a screamer stabbed by Jason Swan.

52:25 Heck of a play. It's so tough to go back

52:27 to last night where Jason Swan started

52:29 the [music] game on a poor note, but

52:31 that's to tell the story. After a tough

52:34 game yesterday, Swan responds today.

52:36 Trick play behind the back. Home run to

52:38 walk off the first and look what I

52:40 found. Flash the glove, big man.

52:44 Reese selects the just like Cruz before

52:46 him in his third year as a Savannah

52:47 Banana after he was the 2023 Pioneer

52:50 League MVP.

52:52 29 home runs for the Ogden Raptors.

52:55 Giving the fans an opportunity here. No

52:57 catch. There was only one foul out to

52:59 the fans yesterday. It went against Ty

53:02 Jackson in pretty much the same spot.

53:03 >> And you know what was really

53:04 fascinating? Reese was dancing down the

53:06 first baseline [music] and pouring the

53:08 fans not to catch the foul. Was kind of

53:11 a smart play by a banana ball vet.

53:15 Bounding ball. Bryson Bloomer behind the

53:18 back transfer over to Swan and plenty of

53:20 time. A trick play and six up, six down

53:22 for Garrett Deleno. Yeah, Deleno looks

53:25 in his bag. It was the same way last

53:27 weekend against the Texas Tailgator and

53:30 here against these bananas. Triple

53:32 sevens is locked in.

53:34 >> Quick work once again. Three minutes and

53:36 1 second there for Delay. Now

53:39 >> as we celebrate a historic weekend in

53:42 the history of our young sport. 6 years

53:45 and two days ago, it was the [music]

53:47 first ever banana ball game played in

53:49 front of the fans. Jesse Cole and

53:51 company hurling t-shirts to the folks of

53:55 course [music] masks and gloves all over

53:56 the place. This was peak co had to do

53:58 this thing safely. This was half

54:00 capacity in Grayson [music] Stadium. Oh,

54:01 and it just happened to be the first

54:03 ever broadcast in my Savannah banana

54:06 story.

54:06 >> I don't think you had hair on your chest

54:08 yet. [music] I still don't.

54:11 >> Less hair on top of the head as well.

54:13 Bill Loy, [music]

54:14 second batter in the history of the

54:15 sport after a Ben Anderson hit by pitch.

54:18 Loy the nine-year nanner at this point.

54:20 This was only his third year as a

54:22 Savannah Banana all the way around the

54:24 bags home to home the first ever ball

54:26 for sprint and it was a four base sprint

54:29 at that. Well, you saw a lot of great

54:30 things to come in this sport. You saw

54:32 the ball for sprint showdowns debuted as

54:35 well. Logan Workman had the first sub

54:37 2minute inning in Banana Ball's history.

54:40 And of course, there's some guys still

54:42 around this game who were playing in

54:44 that very first contest. Billoy, Kyle

54:47 standovers. [music]

54:48 All who you'll see today. And of course,

54:50 Jose Gonzalez Jr. who has returned to

54:53 Banana Ball this season with the Texas

54:55 Tailgator.

54:56 >> That's the great storyline of Jose

54:58 Gonzalez. The other three have stayed in

55:00 in Banana Ball throughout their careers

55:02 here and are true veterans of the game.

55:03 Jose Gonzalez jumping back in the fold

55:05 this year. Shared a margarita with him

55:07 in Mexico this past February.

55:10 [laughter]

55:11 Special stuff right there. And we are

55:13 joined by a special man.

55:15 >> Okay. Oh, right on Q. Billy, welcome to

55:18 ABC. Howdy, howdy. Howdy, ABC.

55:22 >> I love the alphabet.

55:24 >> That's why they call it the Alphabet

55:26 Network. That's why we got you on here,

55:28 Mr. Leroy. It's Cosgrove, Hampton, and

55:30 Reed. What do you got?

55:31 >> Here we go.

55:33 >> Hey, it worked.

55:35 >> Bill, nine years into your Bananas

55:38 career, how special has this journey

55:40 been? This has been a a crazy journey

55:43 going all the way back to 2018 when I

55:46 was like 18 years old, 17 years old, 19

55:50 years old, however old it was,

55:52 >> playing on the college summer league

55:53 team and now I'm playing at a soldout

55:54 Oregon stadium. I mean, what a crazy

55:57 crazy thing. What a blessing to be a

55:59 part of it. Oh my god.

56:02 >> Uh,

56:04 as that breaking ball hits in the foot,

56:07 >> Phil, is Vince okay back there? Vince,

56:10 are you okay back there?

56:12 Are you choking on anything?

56:14 >> What happened?

56:14 >> I don't know.

56:15 >> He's just in my phone call. [laughter]

56:19 >> I got a slam full of piss and vinegar.

56:23 >> I don't even know if that's appropriate

56:25 to say, but

56:26 >> welcome to ABC.

56:28 >> I'm sure the FCC will be fine with it.

56:30 >> Here we go.

56:32 >> Uh, what do you think there? Maybe a

56:35 little ripping ball.

56:37 >> Oh yeah, that worked. I hope.

56:39 >> Well, I was going to say basketball, but

56:41 the bender worked real well. Robert

56:42 Anthony CRUZ. BACK FLIP CATCH. HOLY

56:45 guacamole

56:48 on ABC. The man named Robert Anthony

56:51 Cruz aka Coach Rag. That's what he's

56:54 known for. That's my guy. That's what we

56:57 call a rack flipping banana ball right

56:59 there. Learned that trick play from the

57:02 man in center field for the Nanners. Dr.

57:04 Meadows and Robert Anthony Cruz has

57:06 certainly made that the biggest staple

57:08 in his trick play arsenal.

57:11 >> You know, Josh, I would 100% agree with

57:12 that statement.

57:13 >> Oh, no. FOOTBALL. AH, that would have

57:16 been nice.

57:18 >> TJ Reeds came in hitting 350. He's

57:21 having a superb rookie campaign.

57:25 >> Pushes the inning winning run into

57:26 scoring position. Now you've got to deal

57:28 with Chase Aub.

57:30 >> He will hit a ground ball.

57:32 >> So, I'm going to go first. change of it.

57:34 Hopefully we get a ground ball here. Be

57:36 nice. [music]

57:42 >> How's the view up there in the booth you

57:44 got?

57:45 >> The best we've had in banana ball

57:47 history. I wish you could see these

57:48 mountains, Bill.

57:50 >> That's a good laugh right there, Billy.

57:53 >> Hey, watch this right here.

57:56 >> We all are. Look how bad TJ is.

58:02 >> There it is. There it is. Come on.

58:06 >> Come on. He said it.

58:09 >> First base umpire. John Norfolk said no.

58:12 He got back. I don't know.

58:14 >> I mean, I didn't tell you guys.

58:16 >> Here [music] comes the challenge. Sean

58:19 Fluke wanted the fans to pop it as well.

58:21 I don't know why. He wants them to burn

58:23 the challenge. That's what he wants. He

58:25 wants the fans to burn their challenge

58:28 early. Well, you know, Drake, even if we

58:31 do,

58:32 >> you know what? You only live once. It's

58:34 good for the show, Bill. It's great for

58:35 the show.

58:36 >> Good for the fans.

58:38 >> Make an early challenge. Learn the

58:39 rules.

58:40 >> Where are you guys at? Am I pointing at

58:41 you guys now or now? Where where you

58:44 >> right hand?

58:45 >> Hey, Bill.

58:45 >> You guys look great up there.

58:47 >> Thank you so much.

58:48 >> You think I can get a You guys think I

58:49 can get a foul ball up there or what?

58:51 >> No, I think you could get a foul ball to

58:53 me. He said he got him and he didn't

58:56 even touch him at all.

58:59 He's acting with his ankle. That's

59:01 hilarious.

59:04 Bill, you're a pros, bro.

59:06 >> You know, I was acting all dramatic

59:08 because I miked up on ABC. I think

59:10 everybody maybe maybe acted a little

59:12 crazy and they influenced that decision

59:14 to challenge. But

59:16 >> now, Bill, if you recall, you also got

59:18 miked up in the very first Banana Ball

59:20 game ever.

59:22 >> What are what's the most vivid memories

59:24 from that game back in 2020? I was You

59:27 said I was miked up in the first game

59:28 ever in 2020. Is that right?

59:30 >> Yes, me too. On my first ever broadcast.

59:34 Holy history. That's a history lesson

59:37 right there. Uh all I remember from that

59:39 first game of banana ball is my first AB

59:42 all this speed managed to score a home

59:44 run on walk the first ever ball for

59:46 sprint.

59:48 >> Do you remember who you drove in?

59:52 >> I have no idea. Ben Anderson, center

59:54 fielder from the University of Georgia.

59:57 >> Ben Anderson, what a great guy. Ben, if

59:59 you're watching this, I hope you're

1:00:00 doing well, my friend. You're a great

1:00:02 teammate, great guy to play with, and I

1:00:04 enjoy spending time with you

1:00:06 >> at my host family's house. You're a

1:00:08 great guy. You're a darn good ball

1:00:09 player, too.

1:00:10 >> Great.

1:00:10 >> We got one out here. In the meantime,

1:00:12 the call does stand. TJ Reeves safe at

1:00:14 first base. Valiant effort.

1:00:16 >> But Drake, we're going to throw a change

1:00:17 up play right now.

1:00:19 >> Oh, no.

1:00:21 >> Quite the opposite, Bill. This look

1:00:23 foul.

1:00:24 >> Uh, no. That's very fair.

1:00:25 >> That's very fair. It's a home run.

1:00:27 >> Yeah,

1:00:28 >> the party animals walk off the second

1:00:30 inning.

1:00:30 >> Well, I was wrong. It was still fun

1:00:32 hanging out with you guys.

1:00:34 >> You know, you can't win them all, but

1:00:37 there's a lot of game left. And I'll

1:00:38 never give up. I'll never give up. I

1:00:41 love you guys in the broadcast. Love

1:00:42 you, Bill.

1:00:43 >> Thank you so much, Bill. Chase Auff's

1:00:45 second home run on the weekend. The

1:00:48 first six party animals [music] to step

1:00:50 to the plate. ONLY ONE THAT WAS RETIRED.

1:00:52 It's now two points to zero as we head

1:00:54 to the top of the third. We'll be right

1:00:56 back after this message and a word from

1:00:59 our ABC stations. [music]

1:01:11 Bill said, "Nope. That's very fair."

1:01:14 >> That's awesome.

1:01:17 >> YouTube.

1:01:20 >> Hey, YouTube. It's just us now. How

1:01:22 about these home runs, YouTube?

1:01:27 >> Yeah. Yeah.

1:01:28 >> So, they're on the other team today.

1:01:32 >> And we call this the winning.

1:01:35 >> Sonny. Who else?

1:01:38 Party animals country. Let's ride.

1:01:41 How about a little uh

1:01:43 >> No, it wasn't Leroy Jenkins. What did I

1:01:45 hit Swan with there? Oh, Greg.

1:01:47 >> Greg Jennings

1:01:50 to start.

1:01:50 >> Put the team on his back. No.

1:01:53 >> Hello, ABC.

1:01:54 >> I do it for Madden.

1:01:55 >> From Madd,

1:01:58 Gumby.

1:02:00 >> Good. Good.

1:02:01 >> Yeah.

1:02:02 >> Okay.

1:02:03 >> The FCC really wouldn't like that one.

1:02:06 They're clear on that word. Commercial

1:02:08 either way.

1:02:10 ESPN. I hope ESPN just a nod to Bill and

1:02:14 his uh came right in there with the

1:02:18 >> the southern lingo. Good job by you.

1:02:22 >> Wow. Sus Wolf says, "Don't get too

1:02:24 confident, guys. It's only the first two

1:02:26 innings."

1:02:27 >> Yeah. Oh, okay.

1:02:32 >> J25 wondering why the bananas aren't

1:02:34 wearing green. That was a one time only.

1:02:36 >> Couldn't wash them in time. getting the

1:02:38 the the washers on the fritz.

1:02:40 >> They asked Tleski to do it. He declined.

1:02:45 >> Engineer me some clean jerseys, Josh. Uh

1:02:48 Jen, Party Animal for Life wants a bird

1:02:50 update. I think I've got two ospreys in

1:02:53 the nest, Josh. Two ospreys.

1:02:58 >> We'll check in on them through through

1:03:00 the rest of this game. We're about to

1:03:02 bring the ABC audience back. [music]

1:03:09 >> [music]

1:03:13 >> Two innings in the books here in Eugene,

1:03:15 [music] Oregon. Both of them were walked

1:03:17 off on big flies from the party animals.

1:03:20 Jason Swan to win the first inning.

1:03:22 Chase Auff to win the second. Neither of

1:03:24 them had a home run coming into this

1:03:26 weekend. Swanie just got his first. AUP

1:03:29 his second in as many games.

1:03:30 >> Well, I'll tell you that's the beauty of

1:03:32 banana ball right there. You get big

1:03:33 swings, walk-offs are able to keep this

1:03:36 game moving. Of course, Banana Ball

1:03:38 played with a 2-hour time limit. And of

1:03:40 course, the walk-offs, one of the most

1:03:42 exciting aspects of sports, and you get

1:03:44 that so often throughout Banana Mall

1:03:46 games.

1:03:46 >> Told you going into the break, the

1:03:48 Animals have sent six guys to the plate.

1:03:49 Only one's been retired. The Bananas

1:03:51 have sent six to the plate. All six

1:03:53 retired. Garrett Deleno

1:03:56 >> has been perfect so far. He's got seven

1:03:58 through nine in the Nanners lineup. Ty

1:04:00 Jackson, Ryan Cox, Bill Loy, fresh off

1:04:02 the mic, all due to swinging.

1:04:06 >> Another beautiful part of the sport. A

1:04:08 plethora of reasons why Banana Ball is

1:04:10 so special. But you got two guys

1:04:11 squaring off in front of over 60,000

1:04:14 fans all the way out in Eugene, Oregon.

1:04:17 Both of them hailing from the

1:04:18 Jacksonville, Florida area. They know on

1:04:20 the mound. We've talked about it out of

1:04:21 Callahan. Thai from the heart of the

1:04:23 city, Duval County. You mentioned the

1:04:27 original originators of banana ball that

1:04:30 are still playing today and in this

1:04:31 game. Ty Jackson wasn't born yet [music]

1:04:34 during that first banana ball game.

1:04:37 He earns the ball for sprint. The first

1:04:39 for either team today. As you'll see,

1:04:41 all seven defenders need to touch the

1:04:43 ball before it's live. Bang bang at

1:04:45 second and a head first slide. Tai is

1:04:48 just in ahead of the tag. It has to be

1:04:50 every fielder behind the pitcher and

1:04:51 catcher. And it's the outfielders the

1:04:54 last to get a hold of the ball. Tai gets

1:04:56 180 ft just barely.

1:04:58 >> Well, he has reached two or more bases

1:05:00 on nearly 40% of his ball force sprints

1:05:03 this season. If there's anybody who's

1:05:05 going to try and move the needle, get a

1:05:08 little aggressive for this banana squad.

1:05:10 It [music] is Ty Jackson. A nice job

1:05:12 setting the table here in the third.

1:05:15 Right on Q. He is the first manner to

1:05:17 reach here today as Ryan Cox has a ball

1:05:20 and a strike on him here in his fifth

1:05:22 World Tour. The all-time leader in the

1:05:24 sport in trick plays and has evolved so

1:05:26 much as a hitter across his Bananas

1:05:28 career.

1:05:31 And on that nugget for Tai, we talked

1:05:32 about on ESPN yesterday. Energy giver,

1:05:35 foxhole guy. That's why the Bananas

1:05:37 protected him going into this season.

1:05:39 They wanted him on their roster no

1:05:40 matter what

1:05:43 >> because of the spark that he brings to

1:05:45 the clubhouse. And that's those little

1:05:47 the little things that that kind of

1:05:49 momentum swing can help drive this

1:05:52 bananas roster. Two two coming from

1:05:54 Delena. It makes every pitch from Triple

1:05:57 7s that much more pressure packed as Cox

1:06:00 does the job. Hits the ball to the right

1:06:01 side. Ballard will grab the trick play,

1:06:03 but he pushes Ty Jackson over to third

1:06:05 with just one out now. And on a typical

1:06:07 baseball diamond, that might be a

1:06:09 single, but Ballard's playing that Rover

1:06:11 spot. The Animals are getting very funky

1:06:13 with the way their infield is set up.

1:06:15 >> Yeah, he's technically the starting left

1:06:17 fielder, but they have decided to employ

1:06:19 one of those outfielders as a fifth

1:06:21 infielder. We saw it a lot with Reese

1:06:23 Hampton, the center fielder a night ago,

1:06:26 but now Mike Ballard, who has played

1:06:28 third, short, second, he's extremely

1:06:31 comfortable being able to play in this

1:06:33 fashion. Infield in five guys in here.

1:06:38 It's Hampton and Skull. The only guys

1:06:40 still out in the outfield at center and

1:06:42 right. And Bill Loy fresh off the

1:06:44 microphone with Tai Jackson on third

1:06:47 base. And he's going to COME ON HOME.

1:06:50 BILLY BARROWS his second homer here in

1:06:53 Eugene. Bananas offense alive here in

1:06:56 the third inning.

1:07:02 entering play this weekend. Laroy was

1:07:04 just 1 for8 in the month of June. Had

1:07:07 two hits last night, including a homer,

1:07:10 and now does it again for the Savannah

1:07:13 Bananas, the veteran and co- captain of

1:07:16 this squad with a big moment here in the

1:07:19 third.

1:07:21 Sam Bman, get a hold of Bill Loy. Hey,

1:07:24 Billy. First,

1:07:28 >> what's the matter? I don't know what you

1:07:30 said, BUT I LOVE YOU, SAM.

1:07:32 >> That's enough for me, guys.

1:07:33 >> Yeah, that'll play.

1:07:35 >> Jackson Olsen pops one into the seats.

1:07:38 Chance for the fans. No catch. Caught on

1:07:42 a ricochet. It's got to be a clean catch

1:07:43 to have a foul ball out to the fans.

1:07:51 Well, this rally sparked by the Tai

1:07:53 Jackson sprint.

1:07:58 Ryan Cox got him over to third base.

1:08:01 Phil brought him home. Two runs on the

1:08:03 board. And Jackson Olsen, who came in

1:08:05 defensively in the fifth inning last

1:08:06 night, went one for two with a three-run

1:08:08 homer. Big time blast in what ended up

1:08:11 being the eighth and final inning, goes

1:08:13 down swinging [music] here. And it wound

1:08:14 up being a pretty important home run for

1:08:16 the Bananas considering that 2-hour time

1:08:18 limit expired in the eighth and ended

1:08:21 three runs that became points for the

1:08:23 Bananas. Jackie still alive

1:08:26 >> and now he goes down. You don't have to

1:08:28 change a book there, Bo. Going to be

1:08:30 okay. To highlight that homer for Bill,

1:08:33 I I was getting a drink with Jake Skull,

1:08:35 Reese Hampton, two of the legends of the

1:08:37 sport of banana ball, a couple of former

1:08:38 minor league guys and best friends of

1:08:40 the world. I said the Bananas played

1:08:42 football yesterday. We we didn't. That's

1:08:45 an emphasis today. Bill Loy knows these

1:08:47 football stadiums well. The these guys

1:08:50 have such a heady approach when the

1:08:52 Bananas play as they do in so many

1:08:54 football venues.

1:08:56 Ball in a strike on Dr. Meadows. We're

1:08:58 back at the top of the order.

1:09:01 >> Videlia, Georgia native,

1:09:04 [music]

1:09:04 >> legend of the game here in his fourth

1:09:07 world tour. He was a collegiate summer

1:09:08 banana 2022, helping Baners win their

1:09:12 second straight Pettit Cup, their final

1:09:15 season in the Coastal Plane League as he

1:09:17 lines that one. Look out.

1:09:19 [music]

1:09:21 and he was pretty undeniable when it

1:09:23 came to deciding that he needed to play

1:09:25 banana ball. Ripped the first back foot

1:09:27 catch in the outfield. Was primarily an

1:09:30 infielder before that. Now you have seen

1:09:32 him evolve in so many ways. A 2024 most

1:09:36 valuable player award winner in this

1:09:38 sport and looking to try and see if he

1:09:41 can extend this third inning. Payoff

1:09:44 pitch

1:09:46 and it's a turf cutter to Chase Aka

1:09:49 between the leg. transfer strike to

1:09:50 Swan. So, the bad news there for the

1:09:53 party animals, you give up two runs to

1:09:54 the bananas. You can try to match it in

1:09:56 the bottom of the third. Good news,

1:09:57 you're up 5 to1 in the trick play

1:09:59 category. Try to hold off the Savannah

1:10:01 Bananas in the equalizer. [music]

1:10:04 >> Two runs across in the top of the third

1:10:05 for the Ners as we'll get it on down to

1:10:07 the field.

1:10:08 >> Across the United States, there are over

1:10:11 400,000

1:10:13 children and teens in foster care

1:10:15 without a permanent home. Look around.

1:10:18 That's enough to fill Austin Stadium

1:10:20 over six times with the number of

1:10:23 children currently experiencing care. To

1:10:25 raise awareness and support this

1:10:27 community, we created Bananas Foster,

1:10:30 the official nonprofit of Banana Ball.

1:10:33 Our organization is dedicated to

1:10:36 celebrating the foster care community

1:10:38 while educating and inspiring others to

1:10:40 get involved. Tonight we get to

1:10:42 celebrate the Mo family. As daycare

1:10:45 providers, Michelle and Tom saw the need

1:10:48 for foster homes in the children they

1:10:50 care for and decided to step up and

1:10:52 become a licensed foster family. They

1:10:54 have even gone on to support others in

1:10:57 their community and become a mentor to

1:10:59 newly licensed foster families in their

1:11:01 area. In just the last 22 years, they

1:11:05 have welcomed over 61 children and teens

1:11:09 into their home.

1:11:12 fans, please join me in celebrating this

1:11:15 incredible family for making a

1:11:17 difference right here in your community.

1:11:32 >> This is why we do it right here. Bananas

1:11:34 Foster, the official nonprofit of Banana

1:11:36 Ball, honoring the superheroes in the

1:11:38 foster care community. Today it's

1:11:40 Michelle and Tom Boore.

1:12:10 I am

1:12:25 prince. Don't forget you can win big in

1:12:26 this weekend's 50/50 raffle benefiting

1:12:28 Bananas Foster. The winning number will

1:12:30 be announced later in today's game and

1:12:32 it's a rolling pot from the whole

1:12:35 weekend. Stand the QR code now.

1:12:48 [music]

1:12:52 >> Who's walk up? WHO'S WALK UP?

1:12:56 BILLY

1:12:57 >> BILL LOY LAST YEAR. YEAH. With Walkman.

1:13:01 That was a fun one.

1:13:03 >> Love [music] you YouTube. Yap yap. Proud

1:13:06 to welcome back ABC.

1:13:18 Over 60,000 [music] fans and one Osprey

1:13:22 >> watching Banana Ball live in Osent

1:13:25 Stadium, UG, Oregon.

1:13:27 >> Three. Three.

1:13:30 >> Get out of town.

1:13:33 >> Consider [music] that's incredible

1:13:34 timing. Immaculate.

1:13:36 >> Oh my goodness.

1:13:38 >> That is beautiful. It's been one of the

1:13:40 highlights of this weekend is seeing the

1:13:42 parents [music] bring fish back to this

1:13:43 nest that is perched up in deep right

1:13:47 field just barely in [music] foul

1:13:48 territory. Tristan Lec first man out of

1:13:50 the Bananas bullpen comes in to replace

1:13:53 Noah Nisnik and what a superstar LC has

1:13:56 turned into here in his first world

1:13:58 tour. Fifth round draft pick out of

1:13:59 Niantic, Connecticut. Spent his entire

1:14:02 college career at the University of

1:14:03 Rhode Island. Comes in across 24 innings

1:14:05 pitched a 3.00 000 earned run average

1:14:09 which is third best in the sport only

1:14:11 behind Chris Clark and Danny Hosley.

1:14:13 >> Yeah, it's really impressive for the

1:14:14 rookie southpaw especially when you

1:14:16 consider the tour average erra is 6.38

1:14:19 entering play today and LC I mean he's

1:14:22 got the strikeout stuff going all of a

1:14:25 sudden Tanner Thomas goes down on

1:14:27 strikes and now Lebec has struck out

1:14:29 each of the last six batters he's faced.

1:14:34 >> Is that Derek Kleta from Broadway? The

1:14:37 very same

1:14:40 >> is he telling Tanner Thomas who just

1:14:43 struck out goodbye? [music]

1:14:51 >> Yes, I think that's what he's doing.

1:15:02 >> Not sure if No, but I'd love to get

1:15:05 Tanner sauce.

1:15:11 Not just Derek, the man nanas, our dad

1:15:15 cheer squad, his backup defenses. You

1:15:18 look at it, it's a deceptive fast. It

1:15:20 looks like there's rise on it.

1:15:23 Lac struck out all five Indianapolis

1:15:25 clowns he faced in Great American

1:15:27 Ballpark last weekend.

1:15:30 And the strikeout step has carried all

1:15:32 the way across the country here to

1:15:34 Eugene. Yeah, helped him earn his second

1:15:36 win of the season. And now he's going to

1:15:39 battle against Dustin Ber, who has been

1:15:41 a part of Banana Mall since joining the

1:15:43 Animals of the 2022 Summer Series. And

1:15:46 you mentioned Noah Nisnik, who's now

1:15:48 exited the game. That just shows how

1:15:50 badly the Bananas want to win this

1:15:51 [music] contest, but they know their

1:15:53 starter might not have it today. Let's

1:15:55 go to the pin early

1:15:57 and give it everything we got against

1:15:59 the defending champion party.

1:16:03 Haver behind the ball in two strikes.

1:16:05 Proud of Babson, Florida.

1:16:08 This is also the last time the Bananas

1:16:10 will see the Indians as the visiting

1:16:12 team this season.

1:16:14 Their final three matchups in August.

1:16:16 The Bananas will be the home team. Check

1:16:18 that September home team.

1:16:22 >> Good fight there by Bates.

1:16:25 She's talking to match ups and feet.

1:16:27 They're two distinctly different games

1:16:28 how they're played, namely with the

1:16:30 equalizer point being both home or away

1:16:32 in this sport.

1:16:35 >> Favor's first play appearance of the

1:16:37 weekend and he goes down swinging. A

1:16:40 change up from Le and it's now seven

1:16:42 straight strikeouts. The first six had

1:16:44 been on the gas. Finally, he goes off

1:16:46 speed.

1:16:51 I mean, it's high marks all around for

1:16:53 Levette. You're seeing the strikeout

1:16:55 stuff on full display, but nearly 53% of

1:16:58 his outs this season have included a

1:17:00 trick play. That's the highest rate of

1:17:02 any Bananas pitcher. So, this was a

1:17:05 pretty good move to go to the pen, bring

1:17:07 in Rebecc, who has served as a third

1:17:08 starting pitcher for this Nanner squad.

1:17:10 He can go deep if they need him to. Now,

1:17:13 Noah Fischer out of Madison Heights,

1:17:15 Michigan here in his third world tour.

1:17:16 his first plate appearance of the

1:17:18 weekend as well. Was great in Nashville

1:17:20 last weekend. Two for five with a steal

1:17:22 of first base as well, but rolls this

1:17:24 one over. Attacking Kyle Jackson can't

1:17:27 grab it barehanded and Fish will have a

1:17:29 two-out infield single.

1:17:32 Just like that, soft contact on the

1:17:35 infield. You give the party an

1:17:37 opportunity to go one swing away from

1:17:38 knotting up this third inning. Now AJ

1:17:40 Kur is down on the field

1:17:43 >> now. Coming to PR.

1:17:48 [music]

1:17:51 [cheering]

1:18:12 [music]

1:18:21 fans. Please welcome the human highlight

1:18:24 reel from your Oregon Ducks, Dean.

1:18:29 [cheering]

1:18:38 That's true. The Oregon legend returns

1:18:42 to Arson Stadium.

1:18:45 60,000 folks on their feet. Fights on

1:18:48 Blair and Dean Anthony Thomas has

1:18:50 returned home.

1:18:56 [cheering]

1:19:03 >> What a roar from the Ducks faithful here

1:19:05 in Onet Stadium. adding on the left

1:19:07 fielder number four.

1:19:10 >> He'll carry a football on the base paths

1:19:13 as well.

1:19:16 What a good sport.

1:19:18 So with the Anthony Thomas on first, we

1:19:21 got a highf fly ball right center. Dr.

1:19:25 Meadows tip drill. Reese select behind

1:19:28 the back catch. Double trick play as

1:19:31 Tristan Lec puts the first point on the

1:19:34 board for the bananas. They cut the

1:19:36 party animals lead in half. Two

1:19:38 strikeouts, a double trick play. 3

1:19:41 minutes and 12 seconds for Trist and the

1:19:44 first clean inning of the afternoon for

1:19:46 the Savannah Bananas. Much needed. They

1:19:48 cut the Party Animals lead in half.

1:19:55 >> Down on the field Thomas

1:19:59 >> is right there alongside him. to find

1:20:01 out that

1:20:02 >> here. You made some fast fast plays

1:20:05 here. Let's walk. You made Let's look

1:20:08 over here. Yeah, you made some quick

1:20:09 plays over here on this field before.

1:20:11 How quick was that moment for you,

1:20:12 though?

1:20:13 >> Uh, it was a very special moment. Uh,

1:20:17 >> I said it's electric. You know, it's

1:20:19 electric whether it's football, whether

1:20:20 it's baseball, whatever sports, uh, the

1:20:23 fans going to show up.

1:20:24 >> What's the decision to hold on to the

1:20:26 football? Just natural out here with it?

1:20:28 >> It's a natural thing, you know. I missed

1:20:30 it and uh it feels good to have it back

1:20:32 in my hands.

1:20:34 >> How's it feel to be home, man?

1:20:35 >> It's been great. You know, it's been an

1:20:36 awesome awesome experience.

1:20:39 >> The atmosphere is uh electric and go

1:20:42 Ducks, baby.

1:20:43 >> Go Ducks, guys. Anthony Thomas. Thank

1:20:46 you, sir.

1:20:48 >> Thank you, Sam. So cool to get to hear

1:20:50 from the Anthony Thomas back in his

1:20:52 college

1:20:54 who went on to spend six years in the

1:20:56 NFL.

1:20:57 vast majority of them with the Kansas

1:20:59 City Chiefs.

1:21:01 >> The Black Mamba. I mean, gosh, the

1:21:03 highlight reels are insane.

1:21:08 >> What an era of Oregon football, too. And

1:21:11 >> this has been a consistent stalwart at

1:21:14 top the college game. Dan Manning now.

1:21:18 >> Take it back to Chip Kelly in those

1:21:20 years.

1:21:22 what host these Oregon fans have been as

1:21:26 the bananas thanks to the back cut into

1:21:29 the animals lead and again kind of

1:21:31 alluded to it a bit at home and away and

1:21:34 equalizing how do you play the game I've

1:21:36 talked to a lot of these party animals

1:21:37 guys and they're clear we've got to

1:21:39 figure out how to beat the best teams in

1:21:40 the league when it comes to playing the

1:21:42 bananas when it comes to playing the

1:21:43 tailgator who are our arms who excel

1:21:46 against those competitors the bananas

1:21:49 are asking the same thing who are the

1:21:51 guys that can shut down specifically the

1:21:53 party animals when we meet them in the

1:21:54 postseason. Lak has emerged.

1:22:01 >> And on the other side of [cheering] the

1:22:02 coin, Garrett Deleno talked about it

1:22:05 here in his fifth Banana Ball World

1:22:06 Tour. This is the most inconsistent

1:22:08 start to a season of Banana Ball he's

1:22:10 had. It was Rocky from the get-go. Then

1:22:13 he was unbelievable in May, a sub3 RA,

1:22:16 and then it's been three straight tough

1:22:18 starts to begin June. But against the

1:22:20 Bananas this year, he's been remarkably

1:22:22 consistent. 13 innings pitched, only

1:22:23 three runs, 11 strikeouts, five points

1:22:26 earned for the Party Animals, just one

1:22:28 lost. That was coming in. Now it's seven

1:22:31 points [music] earned, only two lost for

1:22:32 Delo against his former collegiate

1:22:35 summer ball team as Max Young Goldberg

1:22:38 has something special for us. Opening up

1:22:41 the fourth inning, [music]

1:22:44 he's out in straightaway center field.

1:22:46 He just left the end zone. I think he's

1:22:48 about to Show off the speed.

1:22:56 >> No. The Anthony Thomas, but

1:22:59 Young Goldberg's got some wheels. Can

1:23:02 Can I ask you what's happening right

1:23:04 now? Yes. Be good. What is happening

1:23:07 right now? This is a walk up. It's a

1:23:09 staple of Banana Ball. This is what I'm

1:23:11 sure No. I've got that.

1:23:15 >> What else? What else do you want to know

1:23:16 about?

1:23:20 really that question I think is in

1:23:22 general. I'm not sure.

1:23:25 >> Well, that looked like the exact route

1:23:27 he took to get into the left-handed

1:23:29 balance box.

1:23:31 >> Everything was drawn to scale from what

1:23:33 I could tell.

1:23:36 >> I think some of the lines were in the

1:23:37 stands, though.

1:23:41 All right, we're done with that. It's

1:23:43 enough of that. Throw the map to the

1:23:45 side. Big swing and a miss on the fast

1:23:48 ball from MJG who struck out swinging

1:23:51 his first time. 02 pitch from Deleno

1:23:54 here.

1:23:56 Ideas are everything, gentlemen.

1:24:01 A key tenant of banana ball.

1:24:05 After the change up,

1:24:10 looks like a two seamer foul off of Andy

1:24:12 Cosb, his bad mate. It's a Chapman.

1:24:15 We'll give him some time to recover.

1:24:19 >> Man, Young Goldberg a 267 average.

1:24:22 Doesn't jump off the page, but 466 OB.

1:24:26 He was high on my draft board at the

1:24:28 outfield position in the 2026 Banana

1:24:32 Ball Championship League draft.

1:24:35 Papa Delena, WHAT DO YOU GOT FOR US?

1:24:38 BAREHANDED OUT OF THE sky for a trick

1:24:40 play. Count it. Garrett Deleno gets

1:24:44 tricky with it. Oh, little Conor

1:24:46 McGregor to boot. That's become a

1:24:50 favorite of Garrett Deleno. Whenever

1:24:52 he's able to induce one of those popups,

1:24:54 he's not shy to field his own position

1:24:57 and come away with those barehanded

1:24:58 grabs. Now, the animals up to six trick

1:25:02 plays in this ball game.

1:25:06 >> Right back up the middle. Perfect for

1:25:09 the left fielder, Mike Ballard.

1:25:12 grabs his second trick play of the ball

1:25:13 game. That's that fiveman infield for

1:25:17 the party animals taking a hit away from

1:25:20 >> the rookie Mike Ballard. And the reason

1:25:21 he was on my draft board discussing the

1:25:24 party animals potential in 2026 is

1:25:26 because he was best friends in college

1:25:27 for a year with Chase Auba

1:25:34 alongside the party shortstop. Oh my

1:25:36 goodness, look what he found. Speaking

1:25:40 of Mikey Ballard, yanks the liner just

1:25:44 off the turf at a 2 minute and 1 second

1:25:47 inning for Garrett Deleno. We'll be

1:25:50 right back [music] after this message

1:25:52 and a word from our ABC stations.

1:25:56 [music]

1:26:03 >> Hello, YouTube.

1:26:04 >> I thought you were turning it towards

1:26:06 me. See, and I've done that a few times

1:26:08 this weekend.

1:26:09 >> I thought I could

1:26:11 >> It's just your hands shake sometimes.

1:26:13 You're really good at little handshake

1:26:14 thing.

1:26:15 >> I'm always Yeah, I've always got a

1:26:17 little something.

1:26:18 >> It's only when the balls in what?

1:26:19 >> It's only when the ball's in. You got

1:26:20 the pen. You love the pen around.

1:26:24 >> You just hit me one of those little

1:26:27 evasive maneuvers.

1:26:29 >> We harmonized there. I did like that.

1:26:31 Was ethereal.

1:26:32 >> I did like that.

1:26:34 >> It was shades of

1:26:36 Sullivan's crossing ad read

1:26:39 >> you had with AJ in Milwaukee.

1:26:42 >> Brett, I think they may have been one.

1:26:44 Oh yeah, it wasn't Milwaukee.

1:26:48 >> Well, they all really run together after

1:26:49 a while, don't they? The Sullivan's

1:26:51 Crossing that is. Yes.

1:26:52 >> Outside of Josh is in Atlanta. That's

1:26:54 just his standout. Untouchable.

1:26:58 >> Wonder what happened in the season

1:27:00 finale. I didn't

1:27:02 >> actually don't give it away. What's

1:27:04 that?

1:27:04 >> They give it away.

1:27:05 >> Don't spoil it.

1:27:08 >> Cuz we promoed the season finale when we

1:27:10 were in Nashville.

1:27:12 >> No. We had nowhere left to hide and run

1:27:16 out.

1:27:18 >> I call it I called it Miller's Crossing

1:27:22 with Hardy in the Cullen Brothers

1:27:24 Classic. Uh we got I think it's Janelle

1:27:27 Growl says Osprey names Bo, Josh, and

1:27:30 Drake. Oh, it's beautiful. You're You're

1:27:33 probably the dad. I thank you. You're

1:27:35 the big tiny one.

1:27:40 >> Chad Reese wants an Oscar named after

1:27:41 him. Let's talk in the chat. He's got a

1:27:43 small vibe.

1:27:46 >> Oh, we've got a happy birthday to give

1:27:47 at some point. Lest we forget,

1:27:50 gentlemen.

1:27:52 >> Doesn't have to be now. We need to build

1:27:53 up the moment. No doubt. That's a teaser

1:27:56 for later. Put it in our back pocket.

1:28:06 Welcome back to Banana Ball live on ABC.

1:28:09 Middle of the fourth inning. Party

1:28:11 Animals won the first two frames.

1:28:13 Savannah Bananas able to punch back and

1:28:16 take the third,

1:28:18 but a zero put up in the top of this

1:28:20 fourth inning. And it'll be up to

1:28:23 Tristan Le to keep the deficit at just

1:28:25 one for the Nanners. as we just finished

1:28:30 the banana ball tradition. Hey baby,

1:28:32 >> aerial view of the Osprey is there for a

1:28:34 second.

1:28:35 >> Le had great success against seven

1:28:37 through 10 for the party animals back in

1:28:40 the second inning. Now he'll face one,

1:28:42 two, and three

1:28:44 >> or maybe just one again. Win the inning,

1:28:46 get the point. Jake Skull with a long

1:28:47 ball here could end the fourth. No one

1:28:50 has more in banana ball history than

1:28:52 Skull, but he's going to bounce into a

1:28:54 trick play. Missed from Jackson Olsson.

1:28:57 Fielded it in between the legs. Tried to

1:28:58 whip it back between the legs. It was

1:29:00 airmail. Alex Eagler not able to get it

1:29:02 with the leap. Yeah, high throw from

1:29:04 Jackson Olsen. That's the trick play

1:29:07 that has become the signature play for

1:29:09 him. But an unfortunate start to this

1:29:12 fourth inning for the Bananas. And Chris

1:29:14 Lec now working himself out of a jam.

1:29:17 And again, Jake Skull, he has become a

1:29:19 table setter for this animal squad. A

1:29:21 single able to reach on a trick play

1:29:23 miss. It all works out the same as long

1:29:26 as you're able to get points out of it.

1:29:27 >> Yeah. Again, Le's got great strikeout

1:29:29 stuff. Skull told me I if I've got to

1:29:31 hit for contact, keep the bat down.

1:29:32 That's fine.

1:29:34 I'll stay down. Put a ball in play. Good

1:29:36 things happen.

1:29:38 >> Something positive happened there for

1:29:39 the Animals. It's Jason Swan, who had a

1:29:41 home run his first time in the dish.

1:29:42 Walk-off home run back in the first,

1:29:45 steps into the batter box.

1:29:47 And a pick off of Skull. Throw from

1:29:49 Ziggler. Not in time. It's a straight

1:29:53 steal of second base by Jake Skull.

1:29:55 Ziggy couldn't get it to rack in time.

1:29:57 And Skull has been dealing with some

1:29:59 extreme hamstring issues all season

1:30:01 long. He has not been 100% with that

1:30:03 lower body and only pulls out the speed

1:30:05 when he has to use it. There you see

1:30:07 why. He was a former first round draft

1:30:09 pick in 2010. OH, AND JASON SWAN OUT to

1:30:12 left. Deep it up. No, but a behind the

1:30:15 back trick play.

1:30:19 >> Dr. Meadows,

1:30:21 the tour leader for outfielders.

1:30:23 That's his 50th of the season and the

1:30:26 all-time leader in the history of the

1:30:28 sport. The only outfielder with more

1:30:29 than 300 trick plays across his career

1:30:31 and the only outfielder to never reach

1:30:33 100 in a single season. It's incredible

1:30:36 as he missed about a month's worth of

1:30:38 games in center field and he is still

1:30:40 leading all outfielders in the BBCL in

1:30:44 trick play outs.

1:30:51 Andy Cosgrove two balls and no strikes

1:30:53 back in his general neck of the woods

1:30:56 less than 5 hours from his home of

1:30:57 Kirkland, Washington.

1:31:00 Cranks this screamer foul ball. Noah

1:31:03 catch the left field umpire right there

1:31:05 to make the call.

1:31:10 >> Still making the call.

1:31:13 >> Really sure of that. Got to make sure

1:31:15 everybody knows off the net courtesy of

1:31:18 netting pros there left about three or

1:31:21 four feet out.

1:31:23 >> Andy was plunked his first time. That

1:31:25 was by the starter for the bananas. Noah

1:31:26 Nisnick Leve here in his second inning

1:31:28 of relief

1:31:31 trying to pick up his defense. Gets the

1:31:33 inside corner to even up the count.

1:31:37 Trick play missed and then a stolen base

1:31:39 has skull in scoring position. Cosgrove

1:31:41 fouls away the two [music] strike pitch.

1:31:45 Seems as though a duck balloon has

1:31:46 gotten loose.

1:31:50 Saw a crispy shot of it just a second

1:31:52 ago.

1:31:55 Off to the ether. Another two two

1:31:58 >> countest. This is where banana ball is

1:32:00 so hard on pitchers. Ball four will win

1:32:03 the inning for the party animals. So

1:32:05 Cosgrove's got to be expecting a cookie.

1:32:07 The payoff pitch swing and a miss. HE

1:32:10 GOT A CHANGE UP. GOES DOWN SWINGING.

1:32:14 Slowed the bat down there against Andy

1:32:17 Cosgrove.

1:32:18 It's a guy who has struck out in seven

1:32:20 of his last nine games now for the party

1:32:23 animals. He hits for a lot of power, but

1:32:25 with it comes the K and it rears its

1:32:28 ugly head and a pivotal spot for the

1:32:30 animals, but things still in the hands

1:32:33 of Ree Hampton, a former Tigers and

1:32:36 Diamondbacks farm hand. And this is the

1:32:38 old out of the frying pan into the fire.

1:32:41 Hampton, one of the best hitters in the

1:32:43 history of the SPORT AND HE SHOWS YOU

1:32:45 WHY. MOONSHOT out to left. TWO-RUN

1:32:49 WALK-OFF HOMER. PARTY Animals back up by

1:32:52 two.

1:32:53 It was a trick play missed earlier in

1:32:56 the inning that set it up for Ree

1:32:58 Hampton. Jake Skull, the best man at

1:33:01 Hampton's wedding, stood at second base

1:33:04 and Hampton said, "RE AND I STEP ON home

1:33:07 plate together.

1:33:10 A

1:33:10 >> two-run shot

1:33:12 >> opens the lead back up to two points

1:33:15 over the Savannah Bananas for the Party

1:33:16 Animals. 3-1. And now they dance.

1:33:21 >> [music]

1:33:25 >> Bam and the party starters leading the

1:33:29 inning walk-off celebration.

1:33:32 A dancer of the Guardians of the Galaxy

1:33:35 movie series. Bam is a

1:33:38 top-notch professional and the leader of

1:33:41 these party starters. The official dance

1:33:43 [music] troop of the animals.

1:33:45 Pulling off a little bit there.

1:33:50 I'll tell you what, Reese Lightning

1:33:52 homered from the left side last night.

1:33:53 He homers from the right side here

1:33:55 today. Party Animals lead three points

1:33:58 to one. Four innings in the books.

1:34:09 [music]

1:34:11 >> Years ago, the classic movie Forest Gump

1:34:13 was filmed in Savannah. And being here

1:34:17 in track town with some of the greatest

1:34:19 runners in the world, we thought we

1:34:21 should cast the next Forest Gump right

1:34:23 here with you. So, we have our

1:34:25 contestant Cody and we have Sam. They're

1:34:28 here on a bench and we're going to have

1:34:30 the Forest Gump race and say you're

1:34:31 going to be the best race to the finish

1:34:33 and really look like Forest Gump. And

1:34:36 the winner could be cast in the next

1:34:38 Forest Gump here in Savannah. Sam, are

1:34:40 you ready? Cody, you ready? On your

1:34:43 mark, get set, go.

1:34:50 And here they go.

1:34:52 Cody's off to a good lead.

1:34:55 Here comes Sam.

1:34:58 Cody is still going and he's at the

1:35:02 finish line.

1:35:05 >> And he's still going.

1:35:19 He's still going.

1:35:27 >> And he's still going

1:35:36 >> here in Banana Ball backstage with

1:35:38 10-year-old Brian who's got a great

1:35:40 question for our Jason Swan. Brian. Um,

1:35:43 my name's Brian and uh I have a question

1:35:47 for Jason Swan. What's the farthest home

1:35:49 run you've ever hit?

1:35:50 >> That's going to be a tough one, Swanie.

1:35:54 >> Great question, Brian. I would say my

1:35:56 furthest homer was 450 against Roger

1:35:58 Clemens.

1:36:03 >> Oh,

1:36:05 Roger Clemens. No mercy from Jason Swan

1:36:10 back in Houston, but put it in reverse.

1:36:13 Swan might have gone 460 earlier today.

1:36:16 He hit a home run back in the first

1:36:18 inning to walk off the first inning

1:36:20 against these Bananas. That question was

1:36:23 pregame. Swan might have to erase and

1:36:26 rewrite now that he's gone long balled

1:36:28 out.

1:36:31 >> Potential. Goodbye to the Rocket. Hello

1:36:33 to Nasty.

1:36:35 That is elite company right there.

1:36:37 Brett Loftess, the voice of the Texas

1:36:39 Tailgator, loves to tell the story when

1:36:41 Roger Clemens joined Banana Bowl again

1:36:43 in 2025. First question he asked,

1:36:44 where's that Swan guy?

1:36:46 >> I got a bone to pick with him. He was

1:36:49 not in Houston.

1:36:51 >> Had the weekend off. Possibly lucky for

1:36:53 Swan.

1:36:54 >> Tailgator versus the Bananas that

1:36:56 series.

1:36:57 >> He took it by sigh of relief.

1:36:59 >> Yeah.

1:37:01 >> After the fourth benadryil, Roger

1:37:04 Clement sees Jason Swan.

1:37:09 world. Meet Vincent Chapman.

1:37:11 >> Give it up for Vincent.

1:37:13 >> A superbly talented dancing home plate

1:37:15 umpire.

1:37:17 It's one of the hardest jobs in sports

1:37:19 just to call balls and strikes.

1:37:22 And then to be a non-stop ball of energy

1:37:25 with moves like that the whole way

1:37:27 through. Fan favorite. And you caught a

1:37:29 glimpse of the wave a second ago right

1:37:32 after the dance from Chapman.

1:37:35 Vico. It started organically yesterday,

1:37:37 the same today. And it was the longest

1:37:40 wave I we we

1:37:43 nearly eclipsed 10 minutes worth of

1:37:46 waving here at Austin Stadium

1:37:49 and they're off again today.

1:37:52 It's Robert Anthony Cruz, Reese Select,

1:37:54 Ty Jackson here in the away half of

1:37:57 fifth.

1:38:00 It got to the point where AJ Kersh on

1:38:02 the field took a microphone and said,

1:38:03 "Okay, we're good." That's this very

1:38:05 good. Proof of concept is there.

1:38:10 >> Popped left side. Chance for the fans.

1:38:14 >> No catch.

1:38:17 >> Yeah, the folks out here in Eugene have

1:38:19 earned themselves a return trip from

1:38:21 Banana Ball.

1:38:22 >> Please, please. These people have been

1:38:24 unbelievable.

1:38:26 >> And the weather, everything about this,

1:38:29 you see, it never rains at Austin

1:38:31 Stadium today. 69° of brisk breeze.

1:38:37 Down goes rack. Nice cutter there from

1:38:39 Deleno. His third punching. He was

1:38:42 messing with the eye level of Robert

1:38:44 Anthony Cruz. Gave him a couple pitches

1:38:46 up in the zone. You saw one swing and

1:38:48 miss from rack and then each of the last

1:38:49 two buried in that turf. And key reason

1:38:53 why Cruz goes down on strikes for the

1:38:56 Nanners.

1:39:01 Another look at the wave as Reese

1:39:03 Alexiatis

1:39:05 ground out to third his first time.

1:39:07 Bryson Bloomer trick play. Party animals

1:39:10 designated fielder.

1:39:12 It It becomes a typhoon at some point.

1:39:15 It's uncontrollable.

1:39:22 Bouncer the opposite way. Dustin Ba

1:39:24 between the leg transfer.

1:39:28 And another trick play for the party

1:39:29 animals. up to eight on the game.

1:39:34 >> The Bananas have had 16 guys step the

1:39:38 plate.

1:39:40 Only two have reached safely against

1:39:42 Deleno. Only one base hit in this game.

1:39:45 Well, Deleno has been able to induce six

1:39:47 ground outs. All of them have come with

1:39:48 a trick play today for the party

1:39:50 animals. So, doing a great job here with

1:39:52 these funky dimensions keeping the

1:39:54 banana ball on the turf.

1:40:01 You cannot stop the way of the music.

1:40:03 >> It's almost frustrating at some point.

1:40:05 It's

1:40:06 >> There's no other fan. I've never seen a

1:40:08 fan base do this. You can only hope to

1:40:11 contain it.

1:40:13 >> One, two. Tai able to spoil it. And

1:40:17 everyone's doing it.

1:40:21 There are no kerins.

1:40:28 Another

1:40:30 one, two from Delo.

1:40:32 >> And I've been notably anti-wave, as you

1:40:35 gentlemen are well aware. Oh, yeah.

1:40:38 >> But this is starting to sway me back

1:40:40 [cheering]

1:40:41 in the direction of the way. Ty Jackson

1:40:43 loving the wave. Big time smash out to

1:40:46 left. He started the two-run rally. That

1:40:49 one, the third inning for the Bananas.

1:40:51 He has them in pole position here in the

1:40:54 fifth. Chance for another point. Well, I

1:40:56 think Ty just got to wave goodbye to

1:40:57 that banana ball.

1:41:00 Now is homerred in each of his last

1:41:02 three series for the Savannah Bananas.

1:41:04 And I'll tell you what, guys, now in

1:41:07 every inning of play, we have seen at

1:41:09 least one home run today. And every time

1:41:12 the team that has hit that home run has

1:41:14 won the inning. We will see if that's

1:41:16 the case here for the Bananas thanks to

1:41:19 that home run from their extra hitter.

1:41:23 Spirited celebration at the dish for tie

1:41:25 two fly. The heartbeat of this bananas

1:41:27 team. You saw his captain [cheering]

1:41:29 Bill Loy ecstatic here at Deleno. Not so

1:41:32 much. And the hair is growing back after

1:41:35 he shaved his head three weeks ago. But

1:41:37 the magic still there for Tai Fly.

1:41:42 And the wave continues.

1:41:50 This dream we get to live in banana

1:41:52 ball. It is special. Wake me up from a

1:41:55 coma one day. And I'm muttering

1:41:56 something about the wave.

1:41:58 Still going. Ryan Cox to Berber between

1:42:01 the legs again. Swani thinking about

1:42:03 another trick play. He will make sure he

1:42:06 snares it the oldfashioned way. Babers

1:42:08 >> with trick plays. 40 and 41 on the

1:42:12 season. He has only missed two this

1:42:13 year. So consistent at second base.

1:42:15 Count up.

1:42:18 We're going to down to the young

1:42:19 professor to set up the world's slowest

1:42:21 race and then we'll have the playbyplay

1:42:23 >> most of the time except for this part

1:42:25 because ladies and gentlemen, right now

1:42:28 it is time for the world's slowest race

1:42:33 competing in today's race. We have 15

1:42:37 crawling babies. We have Olivia Carter,

1:42:41 JJ Wyatt, Stella, Matteo, Elsie, Noah,

1:42:43 Audrey Allison, Quincy, Benji, Rigs, and

1:42:45 Landon. And they are going to be

1:42:48 competing to see who is the fastest slow

1:42:51 baby. Babies, let's get on your marks,

1:42:57 get set,

1:42:59 GO.

1:43:01 THIS IS WHY WE do it, folks. We have

1:43:03 traveled across the country from

1:43:05 Savannah, Georgia to Eugene, Oregon.

1:43:08 Over 60,000 fans are with us to see

1:43:11 these 15 babies compete in a race. And

1:43:14 this may be a record number of babies.

1:43:16 And what a strategy from Dirty Diaper to

1:43:20 go backwards.

1:43:22 >> The only baby moving and going the wrong

1:43:24 direction.

1:43:28 >> My goodness.

1:43:31 And here we go. Some movement on the

1:43:33 line. That looks like t-shirt over

1:43:36 hoodie and blue jeans. Some tears, but

1:43:39 fighting through it.

1:43:40 >> Oh, I've been there before.

1:43:44 >> One hand in front of the other. The feet

1:43:46 are following. Fight. Claw.

1:43:53 >> Continuing to trudge along.

1:43:56 >> Has no view of the finish.

1:44:00 Just trying to peek through as the

1:44:02 waterworks continues, but not a stop. No

1:44:06 Sisphusesque.

1:44:10 >> That is greatness.

1:44:15 >> All time performance.

1:44:18 Unbelievable stuff. Has to be a future

1:44:22 Olympian. I can see it from here. Sam

1:44:24 Bowman, what's going on,

1:44:26 >> guys? Electric. They call it track down.

1:44:28 What's the mindset? I saw emotions

1:44:30 getting high there.

1:44:33 JUST A COMPETITOR. NO NEED FOR WORDS

1:44:34 when you get the job done. Future

1:44:37 athlete. Spot on. Espie. It It is not

1:44:41 lost on me. That child cried for the

1:44:44 duration of his 12 yds. But the second

1:44:48 he felt mother's touch, the second he

1:44:50 felt glory, victory,

1:44:53 he was all dry eyes in the house.

1:44:58 cinema.

1:45:01 Remarkable competition the Ospreys got

1:45:05 to watch as well

1:45:08 and a fast ball cut on and missed by TJ

1:45:10 Reeves. Tristan Lec out for his third

1:45:12 inning of relief. Earned the point for

1:45:14 the Bananas in the third

1:45:17 and then was not able to work around a

1:45:18 trick play missed in the fourth. He got

1:45:20 two outs, but then a two-run homer from

1:45:22 Reese Hampton walked off the inning.

1:45:25 Both runs unearned against LC.

1:45:28 That one got a piece of TJ Reeves.

1:45:32 But did it hit the knob of the bat

1:45:33 [music] first? That's the question

1:45:37 right now. He's talking with Casey

1:45:38 Carlson, team trainer for the Party

1:45:40 Animals.

1:45:44 Ooh, this is the only time that the

1:45:46 clock [music] can stop in Banana Balls

1:45:47 for an injury. The 2-hour timer has been

1:45:49 paused as we make sure that TJ Reeves is

1:45:52 okay.

1:45:53 Head

1:45:55 coach Mike Vasis out there as well

1:46:01 and Tristan Le going to check on him

1:46:03 too.

1:46:04 >> Look like Vincent Chapman pretty clearly

1:46:06 motion foul ball

1:46:09 doesn't seem to be much protest out of

1:46:11 the party almost dugout

1:46:18 hit by pitch. Reese is going to get

1:46:21 first base representing the innings

1:46:23 tying run and Mark Smith will take his

1:46:26 spot. The designated runners standing at

1:46:28 first

1:46:31 and Cody Animals

1:46:35 have hit more batters as the defensive

1:46:39 team than anyone in the league. So this

1:46:42 a very rare opportunity at the plate for

1:46:45 the Animals

1:46:47 >> to benefit on their own.

1:46:54 strip flips for the black and pink. And

1:46:56 now the inning winning point stands at

1:46:58 home plate in Chase.

1:47:01 That was only the 15th party animal hit

1:47:03 this year. That's the lowest in the

1:47:05 sport. Still by a dozen first base for

1:47:08 the party animal.

1:47:11 >> They're like me when I got the kid

1:47:13 pitch. Every now and they just jump out

1:47:15 of the box. That ball's coming pretty

1:47:16 fast, guys. That was a ball magnet.

1:47:19 >> Really?

1:47:20 >> Oh yeah. Crowd the point.

1:47:22 >> That was much like the Loco Beach

1:47:24 Coconuts. Plun 40 time 49 times rather

1:47:27 this year.

1:47:30 >> So far pretty impressive across 37

1:47:32 games. Chase A cup a really impressive

1:47:33 weekend. Two home runs already.

1:47:36 He was the difference in the second

1:47:38 inning and now he's the difference in

1:47:40 the fifth. His third long BALL OF THE

1:47:43 WEEKEND. A CUP on fire. Party Animals

1:47:47 lead 4-1. Chosen hit his first home run

1:47:51 of the season last night. He now has

1:47:55 three on the year. All three coming in

1:47:57 these two games in Austin Stadium.

1:48:01 This is a guy who's at his best in party

1:48:03 animal home games. a 387 average. Nearly

1:48:06 an OPS of 1,000 for this squad and now

1:48:10 has three home runs on the weekend for

1:48:13 the boys in black and pink. The Party

1:48:16 Animals a great job responding after Ty

1:48:19 Jackson went deep in the top half and

1:48:22 they met another point and they needed a

1:48:24 complete game today. They've gotten that

1:48:26 through five innings leading four to one

1:48:28 and up 9 to4 in the trick play category.

1:48:32 Everything is clicking for a team that

1:48:34 seems so out of sorts just 16 hours ago.

1:48:38 And what's so cool seeing Chase Auff

1:48:41 playing at this level, he does it all

1:48:43 with a smile.

1:48:45 Beloved by teammates and opponents

1:48:47 alike,

1:48:49 the St. Petersburg Florida kid

1:48:52 in his fourth world tour. Scorching hot.

1:48:59 >> Shall we shout, gentlemen? I would like

1:49:02 to.

1:49:12 >> This is a tradition here at the

1:49:14 University of Oregon. Play this after

1:49:17 the third quarter of every football

1:49:18 game. And the over 60,000 fans on hand

1:49:23 here today participate in this yesterday

1:49:25 as well. It is just so cool to see them

1:49:28 in their element. It is a joyous

1:49:32 experience.

1:49:33 You mentioned yesterday's game. Bronson

1:49:35 Ball home, Andy Cosgrove leading the

1:49:37 way.

1:49:41 It was such a special moment for the

1:49:43 60,000 here. When we all met in the

1:49:46 writer room today to build the script

1:49:48 for the Party Animals and Savannah

1:49:50 Bananas [music] from an entertainment

1:49:51 standpoint, we had to get Shout back in

1:49:54 there. I said, "What about a mid-ending

1:49:56 promotion? Let's make it [music] longer,

1:49:58 bigger." The fans loved it so much. And

1:50:02 again, you see instant participation

1:50:04 from the offset faithful. This is one of

1:50:07 the great college football fan [music]

1:50:08 bases in America. We've been to a lot of

1:50:10 collegiate venues,

1:50:12 but my goodness, these folks love their

1:50:15 Oregon ducks and they love an animal.

1:50:19 Last night, it was a pretty cool homage

1:50:20 to Animal House as well. Kill team here

1:50:23 in Oregon. saw all the farmy animals and

1:50:25 toas and I got to say Andy Cosgrove in

1:50:29 much better physical form than John

1:50:31 Belalushi back then.

1:50:33 >> Wait, we got to wait a minute, Josh.

1:50:39 >> You've been real good to me, Josh.

1:50:43 >> By the way, we're playing banana ball

1:50:45 and we're bringing in the aforementioned

1:50:47 Andy Cosgr.

1:50:50 Andy, how special is it to be a part of

1:50:52 this madness?

1:50:53 >> Listen, I don't know what's going on out

1:50:56 here. This is ridiculous. We are in the

1:50:58 middle of the

1:51:00 >> It's getting a little bit softer now,

1:51:01 guys.

1:51:02 >> Guys, we're getting softer right now. We

1:51:04 are a little bit softer.

1:51:07 >> That's a strike. That pitch counts.

1:51:09 Absolutely. Counts for a strike.

1:51:13 >> That's incredible from Deleno in the

1:51:15 split. Bill not the first batter to be

1:51:17 down in the splits for an AB in our

1:51:20 sport.

1:51:24 >> Good luck scoring this one, Josh.

1:51:27 >> Both teams have taken the field

1:51:29 defensively.

1:51:42 >> GUYS, IT'S PANDEMONIUM.

1:51:44 YOU took the words right out of my

1:51:45 mouth. Andy,

1:51:46 >> I don't know what's going on. I'm

1:51:48 supposed to be catching and I'm on the

1:51:50 paper and there's 100 people.

1:51:58 >> During your tenure in the Minnesota

1:52:00 Twins spawn system, did you ever go to

1:52:02 bed one night and dream of playing in a

1:52:05 football stadium with 60,000 fans and

1:52:08 dancing with your opponent?

1:52:09 >> Yeah. No, I pretty much thought that was

1:52:11 going to happen. I had planned on that

1:52:12 for years. It's been a couple decades

1:52:14 actually that I've been thinking that

1:52:15 was going to go down. So good to see

1:52:18 permission. Oh my god. Billy ball games.

1:52:20 I'm so sorry. Oh no, Billy.

1:52:24 Got off the hand.

1:52:26 >> At least it was a spinner, not a heater.

1:52:29 >> Y Bubba.

1:52:32 >> Sorry, Boon. Good luck down there.

1:52:36 >> That was so sweet of you, Andy.

1:52:38 >> I'm not normally that nice.

1:52:40 >> I mean, you didn't throw the pitch. You

1:52:41 didn't have to be that kind to him.

1:52:43 >> Yeah, but you know, it's Billy Ball

1:52:45 Games. He's a pretty good guy.

1:52:47 >> Now, when he called a 3-2 change up in

1:52:49 my last at bat and it's a really good

1:52:50 one. I don't like him then, but So,

1:52:52 maybe I should have been a little rudder

1:52:54 there.

1:52:55 >> All right, runner on first. Is that a

1:52:57 Okay, he's going to run. I think

1:53:00 >> that's a cutter in.

1:53:01 >> Hasn't tried to steal a base [music]

1:53:02 this weekend. He's got to be hungry for

1:53:04 one.

1:53:04 >> I think he is. Not the fastest to this

1:53:07 place, but I think he's going to get a

1:53:08 green light, but I might get him, boys.

1:53:11 Just be ready for it. That's a really

1:53:13 good pitch. Better swing by Jackson

1:53:15 there.

1:53:17 Cutter down and in the barrel field.

1:53:19 Pretty impressive.

1:53:21 >> All right, now we got to play ball.

1:53:24 >> How about that? So, Loy Plunk, Jackson

1:53:26 Olsson, his second hit of the weekend.

1:53:27 He's now two for four in Eugene.

1:53:29 >> And to the top of the order, you've got

1:53:31 David Ray Meadows.

1:53:33 >> Yeah, here's the deal about David Ray

1:53:34 Meadows is we don't really want to see

1:53:36 him at the plate ever. So, this is not

1:53:38 the situation where it's looking good.

1:53:41 That's a strike goal. Now, here, watch

1:53:43 this, boys. Watch this. I think I'm I'm

1:53:47 going to pick off Jackson right now. Oh,

1:53:49 no. Viral, I think, shut him down.

1:53:51 >> Oh, come on. Come on. Come on. Come on.

1:53:54 >> No. Swanie, get over there.

1:53:56 >> Remember, Phil called this during his

1:53:58 miked up earlier in the game against TJ

1:54:00 Reeves at first base. Cause wants it,

1:54:02 too.

1:54:03 >> Oh, no. Vro's looking at me.

1:54:05 >> Yeah, he is. I do it anyways. I do it

1:54:09 anyways.

1:54:10 >> [music]

1:54:11 >> Go.

1:54:16 >> Oh, I was ready for it.

1:54:19 >> Jackson knows

1:54:20 >> they know

1:54:21 >> he's in danger. Okay, we got a O2 count.

1:54:24 >> We got to be good here. I like this one.

1:54:28 I like this one. Execute, Deleno. Here

1:54:30 we go. Be good. Throw your best. Throw

1:54:33 your best.

1:54:35 >> That's really good. That's really good,

1:54:37 Garrett Deleno. That's my cowboy.

1:54:41 >> Well, it's definitely in the middle.

1:54:42 Vince is wondering where it's at. I got

1:54:44 that as a strike all day long.

1:54:46 >> It's about as good as he could throw it.

1:54:49 >> Boom, baby. All right. One down for you

1:54:51 here. Cause what's it like? You're not

1:54:53 back home, per se, but to be the Pacific

1:54:54 Northwest. This air, the trees. Come on.

1:54:57 >> You know, this is how it was born. You

1:54:59 know what I mean?

1:55:02 Everyone Oh no. Oh god. Give me two.

1:55:03 GIVE ME TWO. GOT IT. [screaming]

1:55:05 AND WE WILL SEE YOU LATER. DOUBLE

1:55:08 BLAMING THE GOOD GUYS.

1:55:11 >> ANDY, you're a pros pro. It's an honor

1:55:14 to work with you every weekend.

1:55:15 >> I love you. I love you. It's been a

1:55:17 pleasure, gentlemen. Great job. Don't

1:55:18 swear. I'm live.

1:55:21 >> All right.

1:55:21 >> Thank you, Andy. Good job on the play.

1:55:24 [music]

1:55:26 >> Animals hold off the bananas here in the

1:55:28 top of the six. It's Banana on ABC.

1:55:33 [music]

1:55:40 >> [music]

1:55:41 >> We will be right back after this message

1:55:47 >> from our ABC stations.

1:55:53 >> Uh gentlemen with the YouTube chat

1:55:56 awaiting. Yes. Let's talk showman of the

1:55:59 game.

1:56:00 >> I would like the guy who I want Auff.

1:56:03 >> I want Auff.

1:56:04 >> I want Auff. Two home runs, two trick

1:56:06 plays.

1:56:06 >> Yep. Though Swan, if we gave show, well,

1:56:10 if we gave Shman for the first two

1:56:12 innings,

1:56:13 >> kind of like Jason Swan, please. Agree.

1:56:17 >> By the way,

1:56:20 >> you read the minds. You read the mind. I

1:56:23 said, by the way, to set up, [music]

1:56:24 happy birthday to our moderator,

1:56:26 Katrissa Valet. Happy birthday,

1:56:30 >> legendary.

1:56:30 >> Happy birthday.

1:56:33 >> Wow. And the osprey is flying around in

1:56:36 Katrissa's honor. Oh, that's cool. Those

1:56:38 wings are something else. I'm sorry.

1:56:42 >> Sorry, YouTube chat, that we're showing

1:56:43 you this guy.

1:56:45 >> Is that the adult?

1:56:46 >> It's got to be the adult. I don't think

1:56:48 the adolescent is out of the nest yet.

1:56:50 Oh, I

1:56:52 >> Well, yeah. There you can see the

1:56:53 ospreys in the nest. There's one flying

1:56:55 above the [cheering] starboard, right?

1:56:57 That's pretty big osprey in the nest.

1:57:02 >> I mean, there are Oh, yeah. You got it

1:57:03 now. Yep. Yep. We're there. It's It's

1:57:06 behind the scoreboard. So,

1:57:08 >> it's kind of disappeared. I'm sorry.

1:57:10 Beautiful shot.

1:57:14 >> You'll have to join us in Eugene next

1:57:15 time. I can I really hope we come back

1:57:18 here.

1:57:18 >> I need it.

1:57:19 >> Yeah. [music]

1:57:20 >> I need this once a year.

1:57:22 >> The upper 60s in in late June. 68 69

1:57:26 degrees today. That's awesome.

1:57:31 Beautiful

1:57:41 Eugene, Oregon

1:57:44 getting banana ball [music] for the

1:57:45 first time ever. The Beaver State, the

1:57:48 40th state ever to have the greatest

1:57:52 show in sports

1:57:54 played in its boundaries. The big

1:57:57 Douglas furs,

1:57:59 which is what they called me in high

1:58:00 school. The Ospreys

1:58:04 look upon us. Majesty, we're going to

1:58:07 get all up [music] in those mountain.

1:58:08 >> Look how big those sticks are. And that

1:58:10 bird built that nest. A serious nest.

1:58:18 >> Who is cuter, gentlemen?

1:58:19 >> The Ospreys or Tanner?

1:58:22 >> I don't want to get in trouble here. I

1:58:23 love 10 seconds on the clock. I'm going

1:58:25 to take Tanner. I'm taking the Ospreys.

1:58:27 >> Okay,

1:58:28 >> we're split here. Drake, can you be the

1:58:30 decider? [music]

1:58:32 >> I have always loved birds,

1:58:35 >> notably,

1:58:36 but Tanner, ever since he got a

1:58:38 girlfriend, he's got this gleam about

1:58:40 him.

1:58:41 >> Give me Tanner Thomas.

1:58:43 >> Tanner Dickin Thomas.

1:58:45 >> You know that heart and soul.

1:58:47 formerly Tanner Tinder Thomas, social

1:58:50 media superstar for the Party Animals,

1:58:52 swinging a heck of a stick here in his

1:58:54 fifth World Tour as well. He's out ahead

1:58:57 of that one count even at two and two.

1:58:58 Struck out his first time, but hitting

1:59:00 310

1:59:02 pacing [music] his party animals with

1:59:04 seven long balls.

1:59:07 Former Virginia Tech Hokei

1:59:10 and a collegiate Savannah banana summers

1:59:12 of 2018 and 19. That's the real

1:59:14 question. The Hokei or the Osprey?

1:59:19 >> I'm still on the Osprey as Thomas is

1:59:21 down swinging.

1:59:24 Fourth K for LeC in relief. Yet he's

1:59:27 challenged Tanner with that heater both

1:59:29 times and come away successful.

1:59:33 Have things turned over to Dustin Mabber

1:59:35 in time for a party animals tradition in

1:59:38 every game. Getting ready to time it,

1:59:40 Josh. Looking for a sub4se second beer

1:59:42 chunk here from Dustin Ber.

1:59:44 Get the watch ready for three

1:59:47 Mississippi.

1:59:49 3.9 seconds.

1:59:52 No spilling for Dustin Bab.

1:59:58 You mentioned it earlier. Tipsky.

2:00:01 >> They feel an animal house here.

2:00:04 >> You can say, "Hey, maybe Dustin did that

2:00:06 as an homage to it, as a hello to

2:00:08 Oregon." But no, no.

2:00:10 once a game every game.

2:00:14 >> Normally his third plate appearance when

2:00:16 he's on the visiting team, the party

2:00:17 animals, the hosts of the bananas here

2:00:19 in Eugene. So he does it his second trip

2:00:21 to the dish. Went down swinging against

2:00:23 LC back in the third. And here Kyle

2:00:26 Jackson fighting for his teammates,

2:00:29 mascots, chairs there to make the catch.

2:00:34 Chaotic scene outside the Bananas

2:00:36 dugout. And perhaps if he has a little

2:00:38 more room, you could see a trick play in

2:00:40 foul territory. But again, the long ball

2:00:43 has hurt the Bananas pitching staff so

2:00:45 much today. They're not going to try and

2:00:47 mess around. They're just going to make

2:00:48 sure that they can record the outs as

2:00:50 quickly as possible and keep some zer on

2:00:53 the board. And I like the decision to

2:00:54 keep LC in here against the back half

2:00:56 lineup, seven through 10. Those guys,

2:00:59 the party animals are now just one for

2:01:01 six with three strikeouts against

2:01:03 Tristan.

2:01:08 Fischer singled off of LC

2:01:13 >> and rolls this one over to Alex Eagler.

2:01:15 Fielded backwards between the legs. Nice

2:01:17 PFP with Tristan Lec. Trick play for

2:01:20 Ziggy. A one, two, three inning. Much

2:01:22 needed for the Savannah Bananas. Thrown

2:01:25 by their southpaw. Party Animals still

2:01:27 lead 4-1 with three innings to play.

2:01:30 Banana Ball here on ABC.

2:01:35 >> [music]

2:01:42 [music]

2:01:43 >> Bloody

2:01:49 enemy.

2:01:59 >> [music]

2:02:17 >> Heat. Heat.

2:02:32 What a treat this promotion is. How you

2:02:34 do? Oh, golly

2:02:39 bluff and rat bomb.

2:02:41 >> We don't need a reason.

2:02:43 >> What a combination.

2:02:45 >> So, I'm going to ask everybody

2:02:49 this year

2:02:52 >> to please Please stand if you are new.

2:02:54 >> Once again, if you're celebrating a win

2:02:58 this year, please stand.

2:03:03 >> I know if you have something for them.

2:03:09 >> Welcome back to Banana Ball live on ABC.

2:03:11 Let's take a look at tonight's smooth

2:03:13 plays brought to you by Tropical

2:03:14 Smoothie Cafe. Started first play of the

2:03:17 ball game. Chase Auff and [music] Jason

2:03:20 Swan a double trick play. Bloomer in on

2:03:21 the action. The backflip catch from

2:03:23 Robert Anthony Cruz. And then Mikey

2:03:25 Ballard, the left fielder, moved into

2:03:27 the infield with the wacky dimensions

2:03:29 here in Austin [music] Stadium. A pair

2:03:31 of trick plays up the middle. Meadows

2:03:33 and Alexi getting in on some double

2:03:36 trick play action for the Bananas. Dr.

2:03:38 whipping it behind the back. That was

2:03:40 his 50th [music] trick play of the year

2:03:42 to lead all outfielders. And Dustin

2:03:44 Baver, a pair at second base for the

2:03:47 Party Animals as they lead 9 to5 in

2:03:49 trick plays. The equalizer point is only

2:03:52 attainable for the visiting team. They

2:03:54 need they need more trick plays than the

2:03:55 home team going into the final inning to

2:03:57 get that point. And the party animals

2:03:59 last weekend, three home games against

2:04:01 the Texas Tailgators

2:04:03 as a hot start and a single

2:04:06 for the Savannah Bananas here from Dan

2:04:08 Ober to open the seventh inning. Three

2:04:11 games as the home team in Nashville,

2:04:12 Tennessee. The Animals lost the

2:04:14 equalizer in all three games, but won

2:04:16 each of those contests in a sweep.

2:04:19 here against the Savannah Bananas up

2:04:22 nine to five trying to hold off that

2:04:23 equalizer point for the second

2:04:25 consecutive day

2:04:27 >> with Brady Kis

2:04:29 the big southpaw now on the moundy

2:04:35 >> JT Sakov dances off of first

2:04:40 KJ the cleanup man

2:04:46 and ahead three balls no strikes Bananas

2:04:49 need some offense. They need it fast.

2:04:54 >> Kais first man out of the pen for the

2:04:56 party animals. Their fourth round draft

2:04:58 pick. It's his third year with the team.

2:05:00 And that is going to be ball four. Sak

2:05:03 of great wheels is going to make it all

2:05:06 the way to third. KJ trying for two

2:05:07 bases. He pays the iron price. Superb

2:05:11 sprint defense. Party animals get it to

2:05:13 every fielder behind the pitcher and

2:05:14 catcher in short order. You can

2:05:16 transition that banana ball in 7 seconds

2:05:18 or less.

2:05:19 >> Chance you're going to get him at second

2:05:21 base. And it is Kyle Jackson looking

2:05:23 from a challenge for the fans.

2:05:27 >> Oh no. The fans will challenge.

2:05:30 >> The fans already use their challenge.

2:05:32 >> The bananas.

2:05:33 >> The bananas.

2:05:34 >> Bill Loy, you'll recall.

2:05:37 So Jesse Cole walked out to make a

2:05:39 statement to the stadium

2:05:43 and in the middle of that the fans said,

2:05:44 "Ah, let's do it." Because KJ was waving

2:05:47 aggressively toward the stands saying,

2:05:49 "Come on, challenge. Please challenge."

2:05:53 He was refusing to leave the bag until

2:05:55 the fans

2:05:58 intervened.

2:06:00 It's the crew chief, Jake Moore, who

2:06:02 made the out call at second.

2:06:05 Fellow umpires need to see clear

2:06:07 evidence that the call was incorrect.

2:06:09 Yeah. To note, Moore will not be a part

2:06:11 of this review. The rest of the crew

2:06:13 will meet, including Vincent Chapman.

2:06:15 >> A monitor down on the field. Says bang

2:06:19 bang as it comes.

2:06:19 >> Yeah, I'm not seeing a lot to overturn

2:06:21 this one. Neither am I. It's got to be

2:06:23 clear as day.

2:06:27 If anything was going to flip it, I'd

2:06:28 say it's probably this angle right here.

2:06:33 I I don't think this call could be

2:06:34 overturned. Neither do I.

2:06:39 >> How gobsmacked that the Bananas used

2:06:41 their challenge back in the second

2:06:42 inning on that attempted pickoff of TJ

2:06:44 Reeves.

2:06:44 >> Again, it was Bill Loy miked up

2:06:46 prompting aggressively the dugout

2:06:48 challenge and they did.

2:06:49 >> I just assumed it was the fans because

2:06:51 it was such a foolish use.

2:06:54 And now here comes Mike Vasis

2:06:57 and Tyler Gillum to talk to the umpiring

2:07:00 crew as well as Zack Fronelo.

2:07:10 Unsure what that conference could be

2:07:13 discussing. We've yet to see a call.

2:07:15 Cole is confirmed.

2:07:17 >> Not sure why there had to be a

2:07:18 discussion beforehand. Now Jesse Cole is

2:07:20 on the field.

2:07:22 Vincent saying something about

2:07:26 >> who challenged that play.

2:07:29 >> Confusion abounds here. [music]

2:07:37 >> All right. Well, here's Jesse coming to

2:07:39 bat. He played 14 years in the big

2:07:42 leagues and AN MLB ALLSTAR and born and

2:07:45 raised RIGHT HERE IN OREGON. PLEASE

2:07:48 WELCOME JED LOWRY.

2:07:59 THE pride of Salem, Oregon, an hour up

2:08:02 the road from us here in Eugene.

2:08:08 14-year Major League Baseball career.

2:08:11 The majority split between the Oakland

2:08:14 A's [music] and Boston Red Sox.

2:08:20 The switch hitting infielder will swing

2:08:21 it righty against [music] Brady Kais.

2:08:23 Infield in, one out, way out in front of

2:08:26 the fast ball.

2:08:28 >> Yeah, not only a great major league

2:08:30 playing career, but

2:08:32 was a Pack 12 triple crown winner back

2:08:36 in 2004. He was also named the player of

2:08:39 the year. Lowry lining this one off the

2:08:43 50ft net. AND THAT'S NOT ONLY A BASE

2:08:46 KNOCK, BUT A RUN BATTED IN for the

2:08:49 former Allstar with the Athletics. And

2:08:52 Lowry said pregame, "I'm hungry for a

2:08:54 lefty." I hope when I get in that box,

2:08:57 it's a lefty that I face cuz I'll eat

2:09:00 his lunch. Lunch. Consider yourself

2:09:04 eating.

2:09:08 And that is the night for Brady Kis.

2:09:16 So Lowry a heck of a banana ball debut.

2:09:19 He's got himself a single and a steak to

2:09:21 go with it

2:09:23 >> as Daltton Pots will take over for Kis.

2:09:28 >> Pony here in his third World Tour.

2:09:31 Fontana, California native. It's

2:09:34 absolutely nasty stuff. It's been an up

2:09:36 and down campaign though for the hurler

2:09:39 as Alexi finds a hole, bounces that one

2:09:42 off the wall and right and Lowry

2:09:45 retreating back to second. Barely ahead

2:09:48 of the tag from Ber

2:09:53 Chase the shorts stop [music] out to

2:09:55 make the play. Perfect throw.

2:09:58 >> Party animals are going to challenge.

2:10:06 Tell you what, from the naked eye, 50 yd

2:10:09 line.

2:10:11 >> I thought Jed Lowry was out.

2:10:15 But did Babber get the tag on the foot?

2:10:17 That's the question.

2:10:20 >> Was there ahead of time, but you can't

2:10:21 see it make contact with Lowry?

2:10:23 >> There's nothing clear to indicate that

2:10:26 Glove is on foot.

2:10:29 If anything, it may have clipped the

2:10:31 yellow pant leg, but that's not going to

2:10:33 be clear enough to see here.

2:10:40 Oh, this call is going to stand. It has

2:10:43 to

2:10:44 again a shoelace, an aglet if anything.

2:10:49 And that's just not clear enough. Would

2:10:50 that be the end of a shoelace? That's

2:10:52 correct. That's the plastic piece.

2:10:54 >> Plastic tip. aglet factory in Arkansas.

2:10:58 Of course, it's very notable.

2:11:02 >> The world's largest important

2:11:05 >> comes out of the 501.

2:11:07 [music]

2:11:10 >> Great Jeopardy question answer right

2:11:12 there.

2:11:14 One run is home. Jed Lowry up to second

2:11:17 base. Reese selects the on first. Ty

2:11:19 Jackson

2:11:21 >> a ball for sprint his first time. A solo

2:11:23 home run back in the fifth. Whoa. It's

2:11:26 happening again. Two additional fielders

2:11:28 sprint out with the party animals and

2:11:30 once again they seem intent on dancing.

2:11:34 >> It's worth noting Kais and Telly are the

2:11:36 backup dancers are not legal fielders.

2:11:38 If a ball has hit their direction, they

2:11:40 have to take evasive maneuvers here. If

2:11:44 it hits them, they're part of the field.

2:11:46 >> Yes, correct. No doubt.

2:11:49 Fast ball misses as Leio said telly or

2:11:52 flee. Cosgrove popped up to back pick

2:11:55 against Alexi at first.

2:11:56 >> He could have. He was going to hit me.

2:11:58 >> His two His two comrades were running

2:12:01 back the dugout. He would He would have

2:12:03 nailed one of them.

2:12:06 >> 1-1.

2:12:08 Big swing and a miss. The Ty Jackson

2:12:11 solo home run in the fifth inning was

2:12:12 not enough to win the frame. So

2:12:14 insurance here is so important for the

2:12:16 Bananas.

2:12:18 Two-run homer by Chase Auff in the

2:12:20 bottom half.

2:12:22 put the point in the books for the party

2:12:24 animals.

2:12:28 Massive 2-2 coming here from Pon.

2:12:33 Gets the K.

2:12:36 Beautiful slider to strike out Tai

2:12:38 Jackson.

2:12:42 Really good jump from Daltton Pon there.

2:12:44 And now

2:12:47 it looks as though he'll face an old

2:12:49 nemesis. Now coming to hit the world's

2:12:54 tallest batter

2:12:59 still.

2:13:08 >> And not only will Stilts come to the

2:13:09 plate, [music]

2:13:11 but he'll enter

2:13:13 via a specialty walk up. [music]

2:13:18 Super rare moment from the banana ball

2:13:20 legend here in his sixth Banana Ball

2:13:22 World Tour [music]

2:13:26 >> out of the small town of Elville,

2:13:28 Georgia. [music]

2:13:31 >> Credit to Ian Shrift who is videoing

2:13:33 this holding the camera as high in the

2:13:35 air as possible.

2:13:42 What a view.

2:13:46 Now, the song is not entirely accurate.

2:13:50 He's 10' 11 in tall.

2:13:54 I was told 10 foot n pregame. What

2:13:56 happened? Get some of that ant water.

2:14:05 Just couple days in the nature here in

2:14:06 Eugene.

2:14:09 Now, if he ever was to hit his first

2:14:11 career banana ball home run, by the way,

2:14:13 that fast ball was low, everybody. It

2:14:15 would be here against Dalton Pots.

2:14:21 >> These are serious rivals.

2:14:22 >> Some very historic match up, but still

2:14:24 it's his three for his last five in his

2:14:27 career against Dalton Pots and winds

2:14:31 this one off the glove of Bryson

2:14:33 Bloomer. He came for across the diamond

2:14:36 and still able to hustle him in safely.

2:14:40 And Ponds can't believe it.

2:14:44 He is the Dalton Pon killer. You go from

2:14:48 striking out Todd Jackson who had a home

2:14:50 run earlier in this game had yet to be

2:14:52 retired to giving up a rope single to

2:14:55 Dakota Stilts Auburn.

2:14:59 Stilts now four for his last six against

2:15:01 Pots.

2:15:03 Ryan Cox will have to run out and pinch

2:15:06 run.

2:15:09 He can reinsert back into the spot. See

2:15:11 who's the man pinch hit for. Got a

2:15:13 little more little little steel barrel

2:15:15 there. Bo Drake.

2:15:21 >> Had still to the mic there for a second.

2:15:25 Incredible technology we have.

2:15:28 Great take there by Bill Loya. Had two

2:15:30 balls, no strikes.

2:15:32 Bases are chucked with two outs.

2:15:38 And now 3 0.

2:15:41 Bill, a two-run homer was the difference

2:15:42 back in the third inning.

2:15:45 It was plunked a frame ago. Swinging on

2:15:48 the three 0. Could foul out to the fans

2:15:51 here, but the ball is not caught.

2:15:58 >> Man, this place is packed, too. Not a

2:16:00 not a soul has left.

2:16:03 Another dangerous pitch here for Ponz.

2:16:05 3-1 to Loy who has two homers this

2:16:07 weekend

2:16:09 and he will earn the ball for Sprint.

2:16:10 Deer just barely misses high. Jed Lowry

2:16:14 will score. Alexi on his heels. Cox will

2:16:17 go first to third. Two more runs driven

2:16:19 in for the Nanners captain. Yeah, this

2:16:21 is now a lot of breathing room for the

2:16:23 Bananas as they'll go into the bottom

2:16:25 half of the inning and quit the series

2:16:27 for Bill Laoy. Now five runs batted in

2:16:30 across these two games in Eugene.

2:16:39 Jackson Olsen hungry for more.

2:16:42 >> One of Pon's very close friends here on

2:16:45 the Savannah Bananas.

2:16:48 Constant collaborators on the social

2:16:50 medias.

2:16:50 >> Yeah.

2:16:55 >> Wilson quickly behind O2.

2:16:58 >> Singled his last trip.

2:17:01 Easy

2:17:06 take and the ponds can get the out here.

2:17:11 >> The Animals know what's stacked against

2:17:12 them going to the bottom of the seventh.

2:17:17 Loy is going to steal second base. He's

2:17:19 a perfect three for three on the year.

2:17:22 >> And Dalton

2:17:27 could do it with one more strike.

2:17:35 catapulted deep out TO RIGHT CENTER.

2:17:38 HAMPTON WATCHES IT BANG off the wall.

2:17:41 Score will corral. Two more runs come

2:17:43 in. Olsen fired up with a two-run

2:17:46 standup double. It's a fiveun seventh

2:17:49 inning for the Bananas.

2:17:52 HAVE YOURSELF A WEEKEND JACKSON OLSEN.

2:17:55 THIRD HIT AND NOW HE'S GOT a single, a

2:17:59 home run, and a double in this series

2:18:01 for the Bananas.

2:18:03 Five on the board for this squad in the

2:18:06 seventh. He did not start yesterday's

2:18:08 game.

2:18:10 >> Came into that 10 home and excelled.

2:18:15 >> And this feels like one of those proven

2:18:16 it weekends for a guy who's been in a

2:18:18 slump in 2026 and he has absolutely

2:18:21 proven it. Jackson Olsson's Redhot.

2:18:25 turns the bananas lineup over

2:18:28 >> as Dr. Meadows can't connect

2:18:31 >> on the big looping curve ball from

2:18:32 Dalton Ponz

2:18:35 Dr. the ninth

2:18:37 nanner to swing it here in the seventh.

2:18:41 >> Yeah, the Bananas as you mentioned this

2:18:43 will be the fourth time through the

2:18:44 lineup. The party have yet to complete

2:18:46 two rotations through their lineup in

2:18:48 this game.

2:18:54 all those walk-offs. It's the give and

2:18:55 take of being the home team in Banana

2:18:57 Ball.

2:18:59 Party Animals only had two guys come to

2:19:01 the plate in the first and fifth innings

2:19:03 because of the walk-off home runs.

2:19:06 Big time take there from Meadows runs

2:19:08 the count full. I like this Daltton

2:19:10 Pontto Lando Bloom. Jack Sparrow thing

2:19:13 he's got going on.

2:19:15 >> I like the facial hair. Yeah,

2:19:21 he's got an intimidation factor to it.

2:19:24 Talking to him in the hotel, he said it

2:19:25 was giving him some new mojo on the

2:19:27 pitcher mound. He said not only had some

2:19:29 of these bullpen games, but the new

2:19:31 stuff he was doing with his facial hair

2:19:33 was really helping him feel like he was

2:19:35 dialed back in as Meadows lifts this one

2:19:38 high in the air. And that one is going

2:19:41 to clear the netting. Third home run of

2:19:44 the season for Dr. Meadows and the

2:19:47 Bananas with a route here in the seventh

2:19:51 inning. Seven in the seventh.

2:20:00 This is the beauty of Banana Ball.

2:20:04 A sixrun inning for the Savannah Bananas

2:20:09 where on your normal baseball game on a

2:20:11 Tuesday afternoon, those six runs could

2:20:13 be punishing for the opposing team, but

2:20:16 it will equate very likely to just one

2:20:19 point for these Savannah Bananas.

2:20:27 >> Nanners have batted around.

2:20:30 >> Maxon Goldberg 0 for three on the

2:20:32 afternoon.

2:20:34 The sword down on three pitches,

2:20:38 seven runs. It is misspoke there. The

2:20:41 Bananas well in control of the seventh

2:20:43 inning.

2:20:45 Trying to turn that into their second

2:20:47 point. It would take an alltime rally

2:20:50 from the party animals to deny the

2:20:52 Nanners this second point.

2:20:58 [music]

2:21:05 >> [music]

2:21:14 >> Just a small girl

2:21:18 living.

2:21:22 She took the midnight train anywhere.

2:21:30 Just a city boy

2:21:34 born and raised with.

2:21:38 >> He took the midnight train going.

2:21:46 [music]

2:21:48 >> Eugene, you're looking great with those

2:21:50 hands up. Let's keep it going side to

2:21:53 side.

2:21:58 >> [music]

2:22:02 >> I smoke

2:22:06 the smell [music] of water

2:22:10 for a smile they can share the night. It

2:22:13 goes on and [music and singing] on and

2:22:15 on and on.

2:22:20 Waiting

2:22:23 up and down the road

2:22:26 [music]

2:22:28 searching in the night

2:22:44 people.

2:22:48 One more time. Sing it. Don't stop.

2:23:05 [music]

2:23:07 >> Don't stop.

2:23:12 Don't stop believing. It is a Party

2:23:15 Animals home game and headline show in

2:23:17 front of 60,000 in Austin Stadium.

2:23:20 >> And a crowd that showed up in the yellow

2:23:23 >> has turned pink as Tyler Gillum is on

2:23:25 the field.

2:23:26 >> And the number one in the women's

2:23:29 professional baseball league, Kelsey

2:23:32 Whitmore.

2:23:36 He welcomes Kelsey Whitmore to the

2:23:38 field.

2:23:47 One of the most talented and hardworking

2:23:49 women in the history of baseball. Kelsey

2:23:52 Whitmore has been on the national team

2:23:54 since she was first eligible to make the

2:23:57 roster when she was 16 years old.

2:24:01 Won [music] a silver medal in Japan.

2:24:04 Has won gold in Toronto.

2:24:06 [music]

2:24:07 Just made the USA national team once

2:24:10 again two weeks ago.

2:24:12 everything.

2:24:16 >> Oh, and she will face

2:24:21 >> a legend in her own right,

2:24:25 >> Ashton Landell.

2:24:32 Ash, a former collegiate softball player

2:24:34 at Florida International and Miss

2:24:37 making the College World Series in

2:24:39 Oklahoma City. searching for her first

2:24:42 hit here in 2026.

2:24:46 Yeah, she was the youngest player on the

2:24:48 USA national team when she made the

2:24:49 roster in 2018 at 17 years old. Wastes

2:24:52 no time. First pitch from her national

2:24:56 teammate. Hot shot for the six hole.

2:24:59 Landell a

2:25:02 party animals chasing seven runs here in

2:25:04 the home half of the seventh inning.

2:25:06 Just a great swing from Ashton Landell.

2:25:09 SHE GOT TO CELEBRATE AS SHE WAS GOING

2:25:11 DOWN THE first baseline.

2:25:14 And of course, sizable gap right now in

2:25:17 this inning between the bananas and

2:25:18 party animals, but Lansville trying to

2:25:20 do something to close it.

2:25:23 Yeah, Landell and Whitmore rivals here

2:25:25 in Banana Ball. They'll be rivals in the

2:25:27 WPBL as well. Oh, and wow, they just

2:25:30 swapped the ball out. They're going to

2:25:32 give Ashton Landell that ball for hit

2:25:35 today. on a hop. Cruz to Cox. Not in

2:25:40 time for two, but a fieldielder's choice

2:25:43 as the Bananas employing their Rover.

2:25:46 Cox the [music] left fielder

2:25:49 as it's only 190 ft to the left field

2:25:51 pole. They've got him up the middle able

2:25:54 to get the lead runner.

2:25:57 An important first out as the Bananas

2:26:00 want to make sure things.

2:26:04 [music]

2:26:05 >> Don't get crazy here in the bottom of

2:26:07 the seventh.

2:26:10 >> Although this certainly qualifies as

2:26:12 some kind of crazy bow John Howard Bob,

2:26:16 entertainment player for the Party

2:26:17 Animals in 2026

2:26:20 who's become quite the fielder, too.

2:26:22 We've seen Mike Vasis, the head coach of

2:26:23 the party animals, utilize him as the

2:26:26 designated fielder in the outfield.

2:26:29 >> Now Bobo [music] is utilizing the party

2:26:31 starters, the official dance troop of

2:26:32 the animals

2:26:35 with a specialty walk [music] up. This

2:26:38 was planned for Nashville last weekend.

2:26:40 So the team reversed it a week ago

2:26:43 and due to time constraints in that

2:26:45 game, [music]

2:26:47 it didn't make it into the final script.

2:26:49 Here's your consolation prize. 60,000

2:26:53 folks live at a national audience on ABC

2:26:57 for John Howard Bobo.

2:27:03 Originally from Atlanta, moved to Las

2:27:06 Vegas when he was 10 years old.

2:27:10 >> And then this past spring at the

2:27:12 University of the Pacific, hit 306. This

2:27:14 guy is no spot with the badness.

2:27:20 All West Coast Conference honorable

2:27:21 mention

2:27:24 >> again entertainment player. Each banana

2:27:26 ball team has a couple of those guys on

2:27:28 their roster, [music and bell]

2:27:31 but he has forced himself

2:27:33 into usage for the party animals, namely

2:27:35 the field. We got into the sport because

2:27:38 he's a phenomenally talented rapper,

2:27:41 >> but he can play ball and that is [music]

2:27:42 so important when it comes to being a

2:27:45 professional banana ball player,

2:27:46 obviously. has already picked up his

2:27:48 first hit. Hasn't run betted in on his

2:27:50 ledger this season as well. It's just a

2:27:53 matter of trying to find time to get

2:27:55 consistently in that lineup as he laces

2:27:58 that one fouled out the third base line.

2:28:02 Whitmore ahead 02. [music] She's got a

2:28:04 five pitch mix. Four seam stinker change

2:28:07 up curve ball slider

2:28:14 >> and Bobo leads the breaking ball alone

2:28:16 away.

2:28:18 Keep an eye on that clock. 13 minutes

2:28:20 and 40 seconds.

2:28:24 [music]

2:28:24 >> We've got to get through the bottom of

2:28:25 the seventh here as well as the entire

2:28:27 eighth inning

2:28:29 for us to get the ninth. No new inning

2:28:31 can begin if the clock hits zero. Play

2:28:34 the ninth from 02 to 32.

2:28:40 >> Skull inning off first. Payoff pitch.

2:28:43 There goes Jake Skull. It bounces in

2:28:45 there. Bubble earns the sprint and

2:28:47 Skully somehow avoids the bananas in the

2:28:50 ball for sprint defense there. Chasing

2:28:53 seven runs. No reason to get crazy. He

2:28:55 will stop at third.

2:29:00 >> Very productive pinch plate appearance

2:29:02 there from Bobo.

2:29:09 >> Party animals just in the business of

2:29:11 base runners. Want to keep the carousel

2:29:13 spinning.

2:29:15 Andy Cosbro a bouncer. Cox between the

2:29:18 legs. There is one. Also the first

2:29:20 double play. Ryan Cox has the trick

2:29:23 play. Bananas claim their second point.

2:29:25 They trail four to two through seven

2:29:27 innings. And that's great for this game.

2:29:29 There was almost no way the party

2:29:30 animals would rally back in the seventh

2:29:32 inning. Get you to the eighth with a

2:29:34 hair above 12 minutes remaining on the

2:29:36 clock. Party animals and bananas trying

2:29:39 to fight to get to the ninth inning.

2:29:41 That is becoming the final inning. We

2:29:43 give these fans an opportunity to reset

2:29:44 and understand the deficit for the

2:29:46 Savannah Bananas.

2:29:50 >> As we now know, they will be at a

2:29:51 deficit either 4-2 or 43

2:29:54 going into the night. Barring a trick

2:29:57 play miracle with that equalizer point.

2:30:00 The next Savannah Bananas game [music]

2:30:03 will be another football stadium. How

2:30:05 about Kick

2:30:07 in Iowa City, Iowa at the University of

2:30:10 Iowa.

2:30:11 That is going to be a special twoame

2:30:13 series against the firefighters.

2:30:15 >> Yeah. And Kiddik [music] Stadium, a

2:30:17 place where they wave at the hospital

2:30:19 just shades away from the playing

2:30:22 surface. Yeah, it's going to be a

2:30:23 powerful weekend for the bananas and

2:30:25 firefighters involved. And I know those

2:30:28 bananas are going to be looking for a

2:30:29 little bit of revenge after the

2:30:31 firefighters came away with the sweep

2:30:32 against them in Lincoln.

2:30:35 And that included the third largest game

2:30:37 in Banana Ball history in Memorial

2:30:38 Stadium. Over 85,000 fans saw Eric Jones

2:30:42 Jr. walk-off home run take the series

2:30:45 sweep from the Bananas. Got a quick look

2:30:46 at the numbers for Peter Holden here in

2:30:49 his third Banana Ball World Tour. Crafty

2:30:52 Southpaw. It's been a rocky road as of

2:30:54 late. He's allowed an earned run in six

2:30:56 out of his last seven

2:30:58 times on the mound, but hitters on his

2:31:02 team from live at bats. Opponents say he

2:31:04 is as nasty as they come in the sport.

2:31:06 He's all arms and leg and legs. 65

2:31:08 southpaw and the change up is as good a

2:31:11 pitch as anybody has here in banana

2:31:13 ball.

2:31:13 >> Dan Oburst [music] has told me so on the

2:31:15 subway in New York. He said Peter

2:31:16 Holton's got junk. That guy is tough to

2:31:18 hit against.

2:31:20 Look out. Wow, that was spooky.

2:31:26 One for three so far today. It's 3,

2:31:28 four, and five. Big boppers here in the

2:31:30 Bananas lineup. Top of the eighth inning

2:31:33 as he cues this one. Holden off the

2:31:35 mound throws off line and it'll go all

2:31:39 the way

2:31:41 to Noah Fischer out in right field. An

2:31:43 extra 90 ft for Dan Oburst. The official

2:31:46 scoring decision on that.

2:31:48 >> Yeah, single and an error there for

2:31:49 Oburst. Running well. Appeared he was

2:31:52 going to be safe regardless. And then

2:31:54 Holton just sailing that throw

2:31:58 over the head of Jason Swan. Let's not

2:32:00 forget nobody has more pickoffs this

2:32:02 season than Pistol Pete. Even though

2:32:05 you've got a guy at second base, Peter

2:32:07 Holden, he won't be afraid to check on

2:32:09 guys.

2:32:11 Picked off six runners so far this year

2:32:17 across 20 appearances.

2:32:22 Now Kyle Jackson

2:32:26 >> as the clock is under nine and a half

2:32:29 minutes. We saw the two-hour timer run

2:32:31 out in the eighth inning last night.

2:32:32 Each team scored three runs. Those

2:32:34 turned into points. Bananas won the game

2:32:36 6-3.

2:32:38 >> Yeah, Peter needs outs. He needs outs

2:32:40 fast.

2:32:44 >> JT Sakalob, the Banana's designated

2:32:46 runner, dancing off second as this one

2:32:48 is pounded into the turf. Jason Swan

2:32:52 >> flipping it to himself, tipping it off

2:32:54 the glove. No trick play is the ruling.

2:32:59 >> Ball doesn't leave him as he's going

2:33:01 with the transfer there. That's where

2:33:03 the issue lies. So no trick play

2:33:06 credited to Swan.

2:33:12 >> Robert Anthony Cruz with Sak of leading

2:33:14 off third and just one out.

2:33:28 Chance for the fans. They have not

2:33:29 caught a foul ball for an out so far

2:33:31 today. They only made one catch for an

2:33:34 out yesterday and one against Ty Jackson

2:33:37 who's currently in the hole.

2:33:42 Holden, he has it. Wheels and fires to

2:33:45 FIRST IN TIME. WHAT A PLAY BY the big

2:33:47 southpaw. Saves a run for now.

2:33:51 23.

2:34:13 Reese selects

2:34:15 trying to give his bananas a chance at

2:34:17 another point.

2:34:18 ahead of ball and no strike. Singled his

2:34:20 last time, couple ground outs before

2:34:22 that, one to third, one to second.

2:34:26 >> Homerred last night,

2:34:29 his ninth career long ball in a football

2:34:32 stadium.

2:34:33 The leader in Banana Ball history in

2:34:36 that department. Homerred in all four

2:34:38 football stadiums that hosted Banana

2:34:40 Ball a year ago.

2:34:47 3-1 pitch coming. A reminder, ball four

2:34:50 will score a run. So Holden's got to get

2:34:51 this in the zone.

2:34:56 Alexi

2:34:58 to center field. Jake Skull.

2:35:02 Tip drill. Dustin Bab will catch it the

2:35:04 oldfashioned way. Skull gets the trick

2:35:06 play. Party animals up to 10 on the

2:35:09 afternoon and a margin of five. The

2:35:12 Bananas would need six trick plays in

2:35:14 the bottom half of this inning to earn

2:35:15 the equalizer point.

2:35:16 >> And still the Party Animals and Bananas

2:35:18 moving very quickly. 6 minutes and 37

2:35:22 seconds remaining here on the clock.

2:35:23 Again, if that expires the bottom of the

2:35:25 eighth, this is the final inning and the

2:35:26 Party Animals will win the game.

2:35:30 With that in mind, both of these teams

2:35:32 want to move quickly and get us to the

2:35:34 ninth inning as Forest Gump has

2:35:35 returned.

2:35:38 This is Shades of Nashville. Party

2:35:40 Animals had won the first two games of

2:35:42 the series against the Texas Tailgator,

2:35:45 the top team in the sport at the time.

2:35:46 Right now, they share first place with

2:35:48 the Bananas.

2:35:52 >> Yep, fair enough. Forest Gump. Makes

2:35:53 sense to me. Earlier in the game, he had

2:35:57 been a part of the Forest Gump

2:35:58 promotion,

2:36:00 finding today's Forest Gump runner of

2:36:03 the game. And now he returns four

2:36:04 innings later.

2:36:05 >> Yeah. To finish up, the Party Animals

2:36:07 had a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the

2:36:09 eighth inning. They got to the plate

2:36:11 quickly. They hacked. They got the game

2:36:13 to the ninth. Nearly lost it. Taylor

2:36:15 Justice three-run homer. They were down

2:36:17 4-2. Rally back to win 54. And now

2:36:21 >> they swing it against Danny Hosley, the

2:36:23 best closer in the history of the sport.

2:36:25 That 1.42 RA is the best in banana ball

2:36:28 here in 2026.

2:36:30 And his 33 strikeouts to just three by

2:36:33 four. Sprints earned the best ratio by a

2:36:36 long shot. Yet you see a 3 minute 34

2:36:38 second MPI that is third best in the

2:36:41 Banana Ball Championship League. This is

2:36:43 the only man in Banana Ball with an earn

2:36:45 run average below two this season. Good

2:36:48 for an ERA plus over 400 indicating he

2:36:51 has been four times better than the tour

2:36:54 average on and opponents betting just

2:36:57 206 against Cosley. But these party

2:36:59 animals have given him the most

2:37:01 headaches. They've got a 348 mark

2:37:04 against Hos.

2:37:07 It was the party animals with TJ Reeves

2:37:10 starting the rally back in Truis Park in

2:37:13 the home of the Atlanta Braves in

2:37:15 Atlanta.

2:37:16 >> I think that is pretty obvious though,

2:37:19 isn't it? Double trick play.

2:37:20 >> Yeah, he had a single double trick play

2:37:22 there. Bananas now three away come into

2:37:24 play. They need four for the equalizer

2:37:27 point.

2:37:29 It was Reeves and Jason Swan combined

2:37:31 talents to stop Danny Hosley at 28 and

2:37:34 a3 consecutive innings without an earned

2:37:37 run.

2:37:41 A Reeves single. Mark Smith pinch ran

2:37:43 for him and swan the walk-off double.

2:37:47 TJ today a single and hit by pitch. He

2:37:50 scored twice.

2:37:53 >> Down swinging fast ball gets the job

2:37:56 done.

2:37:59 And with the equalizer again as a big

2:38:02 piece of [music] this eighth inning

2:38:03 conversation, a strike out there is not

2:38:06 the worst result for the party animals.

2:38:08 It negates a trick play opportunity for

2:38:09 the Savannah Bananas. Yeah, no chance

2:38:11 for the Bananas to claim the equalizer

2:38:13 now as Chase Aka muscles this one deep

2:38:15 out to right. Alexi behind the end zone

2:38:19 makes the catch.

2:38:21 And then with more than 3 minutes

2:38:23 remaining on the 2-hour timer, we get to

2:38:26 the ninth.

2:38:28 It will be a 42 Party Animals lead as we

2:38:32 head to our final inning where every run

2:38:34 scored counts as a point. [music]

2:38:46 [music]

2:38:52 as we honor the men and women who serve

2:38:54 this great nation. As we celebrate our

2:38:58 hometown heroes of the day,

2:39:04 we thank you for your service and

2:39:06 commitment to our great country,

2:39:11 to our police officers,

2:39:14 [cheering]

2:39:15 to our firefighters,

2:39:20 to our nurses,

2:39:24 [cheering] to our EMS workers,

2:39:29 to our dispatchers,

2:39:33 and to our school teachers,

2:39:40 the Pontia and Banana.

2:39:43 Thank you.

2:39:53 The sound of the bells means it's time

2:39:56 to take a look up at the scoreboard. At

2:39:59 the completion of eight innings, the

2:40:01 Party Animals lead the game four-2.

2:40:05 Now, the equalizer point does not come

2:40:08 into play with the Party Animals having

2:40:10 more trick plays than the Bananas, which

2:40:13 means we head to the final inning, 4-2.

2:40:17 The Bananas have to score twice to send

2:40:20 us to the bottom half of the inning.

2:40:22 EUGENE, OREGON, YOUR ENERGY HAS BEEN

2:40:25 IMPECCABLE ALL day long. But I know

2:40:30 YOU'RE NOT DONE YET BECAUSE I NEED TO

2:40:34 FEEL YOU RIGHT NOW.

2:40:42 [music]

2:40:42 >> Welcome back to Banana Ball live on

2:40:44 ESPN. We have reached our final frame.

2:40:47 It's the top of the ninth inning. The

2:40:50 Savannah Bananas trail the Party Animals

2:40:52 four points to two. And as you can see,

2:40:55 all runs scored in the final inning in

2:40:57 Banana Ball count [music] as a point.

2:40:59 And it looks like Derek Clenna is about

2:41:02 to sing us to the last inning of the

2:41:04 weekend here in Eugene.

2:41:06 >> How's it going, Eugene?

2:41:09 >> Let's go in. We need your help with this

2:41:11 one. Get your hair together.

2:41:13 [music]

2:41:16 >> Yeah.

2:41:19 I mess up tonight.

2:41:21 I must [music] fight myself to start

2:41:26 again.

2:41:27 Keep falling down. [music]

2:41:29 Keep on hitting the ground. I always get

2:41:33 that next

2:41:38 [music] just

2:41:40 fall down and [singing] get up.

2:41:45 you [music]

2:41:47 learn without getting it wrong.

2:41:53 I won't give up. No, I won't give in.

2:41:56 Till I reach the end and then I start

2:41:59 again.

2:42:00 No, I won't believe. [music]

2:42:02 I want to try everything. I want to try

2:42:06 even though I fail.

2:42:10 I keep [music and singing] on making

2:42:13 those stupid mistakes.

2:42:18 I [music] keep on making

2:42:22 every day. [music]

2:42:26 No mistakes.

2:42:30 I won't give up. No, I won't give in.

2:42:33 Till I receive and then I'll start

2:42:36 [music] again.

2:42:38 No, I won't believe. I want to try

2:42:41 everything. [music] I want to try. I

2:42:43 know I can fail.

2:42:50 >> Try everything.

2:42:52 Let's go.

2:42:54 >> Try everything. [music]

2:43:01 [cheering]

2:43:01 >> Blessed to have the Broadway talents of

2:43:03 Derek Clenna to sing and dance us to the

2:43:06 ninth inning. It's going to be 78 and N

2:43:09 in the Bananas lineup. Ty Jackson, Ryan

2:43:11 Cox, Bill Moy dud to swing it. Jackson

2:43:13 Olsen after that. Bananas still have

2:43:15 their golden batter. So they can hit

2:43:16 anybody in their lineup once here in the

2:43:20 top of the ninth. And they're going to

2:43:21 have to do it against Dylan Porter, the

2:43:24 kid out of Oakland, California, who

2:43:26 started his career here as a banana

2:43:28 summer of 2022. This is his third world

2:43:30 tour with the Party Animals, but there

2:43:32 was a break. Last year he went to

2:43:33 independent professional baseball. now

2:43:36 back in the world of banana ball and has

2:43:38 been stupendous. Love the story of the

2:43:40 6'1 175lb righty

2:43:44 said mentally I just needed to get back

2:43:47 to me. Took a year away from the game

2:43:50 the party and almost pick him up in the

2:43:51 Bana Ball Championship League player

2:43:53 draft and here he is. One pitch,

2:43:57 one out. Bloomer takes care of Tai

2:44:00 Jackson. And look, Dylan Porter, he is

2:44:02 the only Party Animals pitcher entering

2:44:04 play today with an earn run average

2:44:05 below five for this squad. He has been

2:44:08 incredibly effective. Just a 230

2:44:11 opponent's batting average and he's

2:44:13 about to have to go up against the

2:44:14 Bananas golden batter today.

2:44:16 >> Hitting in the place of Ryan Cox. This

2:44:19 is Savannah Bananas GOLDEN BATTER.

2:44:22 PLEASE WELCOME DAN

2:44:25 OBER.

2:44:31 No surprise to see the eight-year banana

2:44:33 Dan Over their designated hitter.

2:44:37 >> Two for four here today. [music]

2:44:40 Was two for five with two home runs last

2:44:42 night. But his only job here is to reach

2:44:43 base. The tying run lurks in the on deck

2:44:46 circle. Big hack and a foul ball. Dylan

2:44:50 Porter across his last [music] six

2:44:51 innings pitched. No runs. Yep. No ball

2:44:55 four sprints, only three hits while

2:44:56 striking out five. Dating back to a

2:44:58 series in [music] Tacoma where in one

2:45:00 inning he gave up six earned runs in a

2:45:02 loss against the Indianapolis Clouds.

2:45:03 He's been incredible since.

2:45:06 >> That's an outlier on his numbers here

2:45:09 this year.

2:45:10 >> Absolutely.

2:45:10 >> And Mike Favves has talked about how

2:45:12 improved this bullpen has been. They

2:45:14 were four for 15 in their save

2:45:16 opportunities entering the month of

2:45:17 June. They've gone four of six here in

2:45:20 this month alone. A massive improvement

2:45:24 and Dylan Porter trying to continue that

2:45:26 trend

2:45:29 bouncing past the dog who slams the turf

2:45:32 in frustration. Over does his job

2:45:37 his captain, the 9-year banana, Bill

2:45:40 Loy, will head up to home plate

2:45:43 representing the game's tying run. And

2:45:45 this is where

2:45:48 these football stadiums truly come into

2:45:50 play. Bill Loy

2:45:52 who hit a home run yesterday and again

2:45:55 today just needs a 200 bulb strike into

2:45:59 left field to tie the ball game. Bern

2:46:03 rookie Bryce Gappi pinch running for

2:46:04 Oburst over at first.

2:46:08 Roy mighty hack fouls it straight back.

2:46:10 You think he knows it?

2:46:13 You think he knows what he's up against

2:46:15 with that left field fence right now?

2:46:19 Bananas one swing away from tying this

2:46:21 game. Party animals a double play away

2:46:24 from winning it and splitting this

2:46:25 series.

2:46:31 That's a drive out to left center. REESE

2:46:34 HAMPTON makes the catch.

2:46:38 >> REESE IS DOWN TO THEIR FINAL OUT OVER

2:46:40 the wall. Reese Hampton with the quick

2:46:44 range and the great reaction to get to

2:46:47 the banana ball. He didn't look panicked

2:46:49 whatsoever. The dimension of Austin

2:46:52 Stadium just able to hold in that banana

2:46:54 ball. And now it's Jackson Olsson. We've

2:46:57 talked about it. He is having a

2:46:59 sensational series home run double

2:47:02 single here across the weekend looking

2:47:05 for one more big swing as he takes

2:47:08 strike one. Wow. Pitcher's pitch. Just

2:47:11 catches the outside corner.

2:47:17 Course is 90 to 93 with the fast ball.

2:47:20 He can touch 95. It's high spin rate. It

2:47:22 is very tough to barrel.

2:47:26 He's got a curve ball slider and change

2:47:28 up in his back pocket to boot.

2:47:31 Wilson tries to hold up. Did he go? No.

2:47:34 Third base umpire Dale Wilson said it

2:47:36 was a check swing. 60,000 on their feet

2:47:38 here at Austin Stadium. Not a soul has

2:47:41 left this complex.

2:47:43 The pressure

2:47:46 has culminated.

2:47:49 Piped up. Chance for the fans.

2:47:53 >> No catch.

2:47:54 >> Put the bananas down to their final

2:47:56 strike.

2:47:59 22 with two down and the tying run at

2:48:04 the plate.

2:48:08 Dylan Porter

2:48:10 to Jackson Olsson with the series on the

2:48:13 line.

2:48:15 Ball three. A ball four sprint very

2:48:18 likely puts runners at the corners here

2:48:20 for Savannah Banas.

2:48:22 Top of the order on deck.

2:48:26 Payoff pitch

2:48:29 swing and A MISS. DYLAN PORTER STRIKES

2:48:32 OUT JACKSON Olsen and the party animals

2:48:35 split the series HERE IN EUGENE OREGON.

2:48:39 The boys [cheering] at Black and Peak

2:48:42 win

2:48:44 their own headline game in a FOOTBALL

2:48:46 STADIUM FOR THE FIRST time in their

2:48:50 history.

2:48:53 And they look right at Dylan Porter's

2:48:55 shirt and say, "Give me that. I want

2:48:58 that." And it's just like yesterday. The

2:49:01 Bananas, the better team [music] when it

2:49:02 came to home runs. The Party Animals

2:49:05 with four of seven in today's game. And

2:49:08 the pitching able to back the offense

2:49:11 throughout the day. A great start for

2:49:13 Garrett Deleno. And Dylan Porter able to

2:49:16 slam that door to get the party animals.

2:49:19 A pretty crucial split. Seven save

2:49:22 opportunities now in the month of June.

2:49:24 As we close it, head to July. Five saves

2:49:26 for the Animals. If they're going to win

2:49:29 the back half of the 2026 Banana Ball

2:49:31 World Tour, it's going to come off the

2:49:33 back of a much better bullpen. [music]

2:49:35 That's an example of how improved these

2:49:37 guys are. And it's Jake Skull, Reese

2:49:39 Hampton, Andy Costroof. What they have

2:49:41 talked about this [music] season is

2:49:43 they're playing great ball. They feel

2:49:44 like this team is playing so much like

2:49:46 the team that won the Tour Championship

2:49:48 a season ago. But the one thing they've

2:49:51 continued to harp on, we haven't come

2:49:53 through in the ninth inning of play. All

2:49:56 of a sudden they are doing that and they

2:49:58 win you yet another game here in the

2:50:00 month of June. A strong way to close out

2:50:03 their best month this season.

2:50:08 >> They let the boys dance. And now the

2:50:10 founder Fans First Entertainment, Jesse

2:50:12 Cole.

2:50:19 >> Fans, thank you so much tonight. 60,000

2:50:24 fans came together to have fun and joy.

2:50:28 And I'll tell you, this was ONE OF THE

2:50:29 MOST ELECTRIC CROWDS WE'VE EVER SEEN ON

2:50:32 TOUR.

2:50:40 >> I don't know about you guys, but I think

2:50:42 sometime soon we should come back to

2:50:44 Oregon.

2:50:48 >> [screaming]

2:50:50 >> We started this with a simple goal to

2:50:52 make baseball fun and put the fans

2:50:54 first. And I saw tonight so many people

2:50:57 come together. And I'll TELL YOU RIGHT

2:50:59 NOW, THE world needs more fun. And you

2:51:02 brought the fun today. [cheering]

2:51:09 >> These guys compete on the field, but you

2:51:11 can see they're brothers. We understand

2:51:13 why we're here and what it's all about.

2:51:15 And we're going to have the leader of

2:51:17 the party animals break us down here and

2:51:20 call it a day.

2:51:23 >> You

2:51:24 guys make dreams COME TRUE. SO, THANK

2:51:28 YOU. Please give yourselves a huge round

2:51:30 of applause.

2:51:35 >> Everything we do is together and it's

2:51:38 for you guys. That is what fans first is

2:51:41 all about. So today across the stadium I

2:51:45 got everyone's hands held up high.

2:51:48 >> We're going to bring it first

2:51:50 entertainment. Because of you guys, we

2:51:53 get to do what we love to do. So thank

2:51:56 you. This is all for you guys.

2:51:59 >> Historic weekend here

2:52:02 >> in Eugene, Oregon as Tanner Thomas

2:52:05 finishes up chatting with the full

2:52:07 capacity crowd in Ason Stadium.

2:52:20 moving on down to Sam with Jesse Cole.

2:52:23 Yeah, guys, you timed it perfectly. I

2:52:25 don't think Jesse would have been able

2:52:26 to say anything before you got fans

2:52:27 first in there. Jesse, I'll start where

2:52:29 you finished. It takes a lot for you to

2:52:32 say something like you just did to say,

2:52:33 "I think we should come back to Oregon."

2:52:37 What provokes that? We've been all over

2:52:40 the country the last 5 years and it's

2:52:42 been a crazy crazy journey. But we came

2:52:44 here, you know, 2800 miles from Savannah

2:52:47 and you felt the love, banana love,

2:52:50 party animal love, banana ball love, but

2:52:52 more than anything, they just want to be

2:52:54 together and bring so much joy, so much

2:52:56 fun. This place was absolutely electric.

2:52:59 I' I've felt crowds like

2:53:02 this very few times in my life. And just

2:53:04 to see where we've come from as a small

2:53:06 college summer team in Savannah to now

2:53:08 playing nationally, million plus people

2:53:11 watching, 60,000 here together. Man,

2:53:14 what a journey. And

2:53:15 >> Jesse, you talk about being that small

2:53:17 team and coming to a state like Oregon,

2:53:19 which takes a lot of work to get to. Was

2:53:21 that part of it? Cuz you knew these fans

2:53:23 have a passion for things that come to

2:53:25 them that are willing to say, "I'll go

2:53:26 to you. You're worth it."

2:53:28 >> When we started this, we wanted to bring

2:53:29 the game to the fans, bring the fun to

2:53:31 the fans. And you know, everyone has

2:53:32 their team, their local team, but we

2:53:34 believe joy, fun, togetherness, it

2:53:36 belongs all over this country. And so

2:53:38 our goal is that everyone, no matter

2:53:39 where you live in this country, you can

2:53:41 drive to a Banana Ball show and have the

2:53:42 time of your life. And I'll tell you, I

2:53:44 saw it here tonight with 60,000 and I

2:53:46 feel it with our fans. And we're having

2:53:48 truly the time of our lives right now.

2:53:50 >> Jesse, you left your voice all out there

2:53:51 today. You wore a football jersey all

2:53:53 weekend. What won't you do for this

2:53:56 sport?

2:53:57 >> It's not just me. It's everyone in this

2:53:59 organization. We will empty the tank

2:54:01 every day for our fans. The only reason

2:54:03 we're here is because of our fans. And

2:54:04 so we know why we're here. We keep

2:54:06 working every day. I am, yes, completely

2:54:08 winded. I've lost my voice, but it was

2:54:10 worth it. And it is worth it every

2:54:12 single day because of these people. I am

2:54:14 so grateful. And we're just getting

2:54:16 started.

2:54:17 >> Just getting started, guys. Let's let

2:54:19 Jesse rest his voice for at least a

2:54:20 couple days. What do you say?

2:54:24 >> Thank you very much, SB. What a weekend

2:54:28 here in Eugene, Oregon. Back-to-back

2:54:30 crowds of over 60,000 fans. The first

2:54:32 ever Party Animals Headlining Series in

2:54:35 a football stadium. Could not have

2:54:37 picked a better place nor a better fan

2:54:39 base to get it done. And Chase Auff and

2:54:42 company able to earn a hard-fought

2:54:45 series split here this afternoon. Just

2:54:46 saw the two head coaches of these squads

2:54:48 who [music] understand it's more than a

2:54:49 result of a game. It's about the growth

2:54:51 of the sport of banana ball. And you saw

2:54:53 that both in person today and on ABC

2:54:55 with a national TV audience. [music]

2:54:57 And Chase Akup was a star in front of

2:54:59 that TV audience. Couple of home runs

2:55:01 and man, what a defensive anchor he has

2:55:04 been for the Party Animals in 2026 after

2:55:06 we missed the back half of 2025 with a

2:55:08 broken leg. Yeah, literally this time

2:55:10 [music] last year, we saw Chase Akup his

2:55:13 season came to an end because foul the

2:55:16 ball off of his shin, had to miss the

2:55:18 rest of that season. [music] And now he

2:55:20 provided in a big way throughout this

2:55:22 weekend. Three home runs for the boys in

2:55:25 Black and Peak. He has led the way for

2:55:27 them in trick plays. [music] He has not

2:55:29 been phased one bit in his return season

2:55:31 here in 2026 and just continues to add

2:55:35 on to what may very [music] well be an

2:55:37 all-star campaign. Known for his

2:55:40 wizardry with the glove, the bat just

2:55:42 gets better and better every year he is

2:55:44 in the sport of Banana Ball. The

2:55:47 impressive performance from Akuff

2:55:49 [music] as well as the party animals as

2:55:51 they take it four to two here in Banana

2:55:54 Ball's ABC debut as we welcome you back

2:55:56 inside with the statistical savant of

2:55:58 Banana Ball. Josh Tleski and the voice

2:56:00 of the party animals, Drake Tol. I am Bo

2:56:02 Scala. Thank you again so much for

2:56:05 spending your Sunday afternoon with us

2:56:06 here in virtual Banana Land. Drake, your

2:56:09 final thoughts after this historic

2:56:10 weekend.

2:56:11 >> Again, I know the results matter a ton

2:56:12 to the players. want to win, but win or

2:56:15 lose with the Party Animals and Savannah

2:56:16 Bananas. This was a weekend of growth in

2:56:18 the sport of banana ball. Both these

2:56:19 teams have a ton of respect for one

2:56:21 another. The Party Animals banana

2:56:22 splitting is great for the game and

2:56:25 great. It's a great product for 120,000

2:56:28 pe,000

2:56:30 real people, real human beings watch

2:56:32 Banana Ball this weekend in Eugene,

2:56:34 Oregon. That cannot be overstated and

2:56:37 understandably so with the wonky

2:56:38 dimensions. Home runs galore in this

2:56:40 series split. 17 across the weekend from

2:56:43 both of these squads. And I'll tell you

2:56:45 what, this series was awfully

2:56:46 reminiscent of the Bananas playing the

2:56:48 firefighters in Seattle. We had loud

2:56:51 crowds throughout those two games. This

2:56:53 was no different. The fans in the

2:56:55 Pacific Northwest just eat up banana

2:56:58 ball and the fans really brought it

2:57:00 throughout this weekend. Can't wait to

2:57:02 see what happens when these two teams

2:57:04 clash again. But for now, they will go

2:57:06 their separate ways. The party animals

2:57:08 head to Midland, Texas for the July 4th

2:57:11 weekend while the Bananas will go to

2:57:13 Iowa City, Iowa, and they will try and

2:57:16 get back into that first place spot. The

2:57:18 Bananas now a half game out of first

2:57:20 place. The Party Animals within two.

2:57:21 Yep. It's been a pleasure to share the

2:57:23 booth with you guys over the course of

2:57:24 this year. The last time that we'll get

2:57:26 an opportunity to call a game up here

2:57:28 together in 2026. But what a weekend it

2:57:30 was. The scenes were beautiful and a win

2:57:32 for the party animals to cap it off.

2:57:34 >> [music]

2:57:34 >> The pleasure has truly been ours, Drake,

2:57:36 for Mr. Tol, for Josh Tipsky, for our

2:57:39 guy down on the field, Sam Bowman, our

2:57:42 crew back in Savannah. This broadcast

2:57:44 directed [music] by Chris Haynes,

2:57:45 produced by Chad Reese. For the

2:57:47 executive producer of BTV, Josh [music]

2:57:49 Richardson, I'm Bo Scalla, saying so

2:57:51 long for now. And of course, we will see

2:57:54 you later. Party on.

2:58:00 Heat. [music]

2:58:07 Heat. [music]

2:58:17 Heat. Heat. [music]
