Savannah Bananas and Texas Tailgaters play at HIGH SCHOOL FIELD! First Ever Pop-Up Game

📝 Full transcript (3119 segments)

0:49 Hey guys, tonight we have a surprise for

0:51 you. We've dreamed about this idea and

0:54 now we're actually going to do it.

0:56 Tonight, we're going to play a pop-up

0:58 game at Navasota High School in

1:00 Navasota, Texas. It is first come, first

1:04 serve, and all tickets are completely

1:06 free. Now, the field only fits 1,000

1:09 fans, so we know not everyone's going to

1:12 be able to make it, but we are going to

1:13 broadcast the game on Banana Ball

1:15 YouTube. For the first thousand fans

1:17 there, we'll be there at 5:30 ready to

1:20 put on a show. This will be the smallest

1:23 game in Banana Ball history, and it's

1:25 going to be epic. You guys ready?

1:30 >> We'll see you soon. Let's go.

1:32 >> Surprise! It's the first popup game in

1:35 Banana Ball history, and we bring it to

1:37 you live from Bunker Field in Navasota,

1:41 Texas. The Savannah Bananas have made

1:43 the journey out to the Lonear State to

1:45 take on the Texas Tailgator in what is

1:48 now a twoame series. Two nights before

1:52 we have the biggest game in Banana Ball

1:54 history, it is the smallest game in

1:56 Banana Ball history as we only have the

1:58 capacity for the first 1,000 fans who

2:02 showed up today. And thank goodness they

2:05 did because it is a gorgeous night for

2:07 it. 73°

2:08 just a few minutes ahead of first pitch

2:11 here in East Central Texas. And well,

2:14 we've got about a thousand fans in the

2:16 stands. Another couple dozen cows out

2:18 beyond the left field while also get to

2:21 witness this moment in Banana Ball

2:23 history as we welcome you inside with

2:26 the statistical savant of Banana Ball

2:28 Josh TBKI and the voice of the Texas

2:30 Tailgators Brett Loftess. I am Bo

2:32 Scalla. Thank you all so much for

2:34 spending this surprise thirsty Thursday

2:36 and Big Tiger Thursday. We've got the

2:38 energy here. Uh we just you said High

2:40 School Field, smallest game in the

2:42 history of the sport. Let's get weird.

2:44 Brett, this is the battle we have seen

2:45 more than any other this year in the

2:47 sport and it has been fantastic every

2:49 time the Bananas and Tailgator have

2:51 buted heads.

2:52 >> I tell you what's weird is that one win

2:54 for the Texas Tailgator against the

2:56 Savannah Bananas in their history. Went

2:58 1 and seven against Bananas in 2025.

3:01 Start out 0 and3 against them this year.

3:03 But when it mattered the most in the

3:04 Banana Ball Open, back-to-back days,

3:06 back-to-back wins, clinching a playoff

3:08 spot six months early. Now, on this

3:11 historic weekend, what other rivalry

3:13 will we see for the sixth and seventh

3:15 times of 2026 than the Bananas and the

3:17 Tailgator?

3:18 >> And a key part of the Tailgator beating

3:20 the Bananas in that final open was Out

3:22 Trick playing them as the away team and

3:24 then defending the equalizer point as

3:25 the home team.

3:26 >> Yeah, that's exactly right. The

3:27 Tailgator leading all teams with four

3:29 equalizer points earned this season.

3:32 Now, they're going to be playing as the

3:33 home team each of the next two nights,

3:35 but the equalizer point is on the table

3:37 for the Bananas, who have only earned it

3:39 once this season on March the 8th in

3:42 Grayson Stadium. That is going to be a

3:44 big goal for them this weekend. I

3:47 personally would really like to hear

3:49 from Mr. Jesse Cole about this

3:51 improbable event today. For that, we'll

3:53 get it on down to Sam Bowman.

3:57 Well guys, I got Jesse Cole with me here

3:59 before the game for a change of pace,

4:01 but everything we're doing today is a

4:02 change of pace. Jesse, four hours ago,

4:05 nobody outside of this organization knew

4:07 this was going to happen. How do we make

4:11 this happen?

4:12 >> Well, this has been an idea for years.

4:14 You know, as we've got bigger and bigger

4:15 and played at these MLB stadiums and

4:16 football stadiums, how do you bring it

4:18 back to a small crowd, small and and for

4:21 the fans that give them a chance? You

4:23 give them a chance. I mean, the fact

4:24 this game's completely free for a

4:25 thousand fans in the area playing in

4:26 front 102 on Saturday, 102,000. But

4:29 yeah, this was an idea and I think it's

4:31 just the start, you know, the reception,

4:32 seeing the bus pull all the way up with

4:34 everyone and just the uproar of the

4:36 fans, you know, that's why we do what we

4:38 do is for them and to see the

4:40 excitement. I met so many people out

4:42 here that they've wanted to come to a

4:44 game for years. You know, I met a foster

4:46 mom who, you know, found out about

4:47 Banana's Foster and she was right down

4:49 the road and saw the alert in the young

4:50 man who literally came here. I got a

4:52 biggest hug from a young woman who's

4:54 hoped forever to have a chance to come

4:56 to this and it's just that's what it's

4:58 all about. So, it's special and it's

4:59 weird. It's different. I mean, we have

5:01 never played in front of a crowd this

5:03 small. So, it's so unique. This brings

5:04 me back to my days in Gastonia, North

5:06 Carolina when we were hoping to get a

5:07 thousand people the first few years, but

5:09 these these people are fans and they're

5:11 excited. They're going to get quite a

5:12 show.

5:12 >> Jesse, you like a challenge. Did you see

5:14 this as a challenge? I mean, we're doing

5:16 over 100,000 on Saturday, but figuring

5:18 this out a challenge. It

5:20 >> was an extreme challenge. you know,

5:21 keeping everything a secret and playing

5:22 at a high school fair where you don't

5:23 have all the, you know, you don't have

5:24 video boards, you don't have the sound

5:26 equipment, you don't have the setup to

5:27 really entertain. That's normal. You

5:28 have to improvise and that's what we do

5:30 is we find a way to entertain. And so,

5:32 yeah, I mean, it it was crazy. You had

5:34 to figure out how do you announce just a

5:35 few hours before the game with no one

5:37 finding out, get everything set up. We

5:39 have a broadcast going. All of this is

5:41 extremely hard, but that's what's

5:42 amazing about our whole group is is we

5:44 love the challenges and we find a way

5:45 and we figure it out and just wait till

5:46 the next one. It'll get better and then

5:48 the next one up there. And I hope this

5:49 is the start of these pop-ups that we

5:51 get to do all over the country. Um, you

5:52 know, again, it doesn't make any

5:54 financial sense, but it makes complete

5:56 sense for our fans, and we will always

5:57 choose that. And, uh, I'm excited for

6:00 it.

6:00 >> Yeah. People say we're valued at over

6:02 half a billion dollars. We're not making

6:04 any money on this one, just fans

6:06 tonight, guys. And I think we've made

6:07 some some great ones here.

9:18 Ladies and gentlemen, we ask that you

9:20 now please rise if you're able and

9:22 remove your caps. Here to honor America

9:26 with the singing of tonight's national

9:27 anthem, please welcome Jason Art.

9:33 Oh, say can you see

9:39 by the dawn early

9:44 what so proudly

9:47 we held

9:50 at the twilight

9:52 last gleaming

9:56 whose broad stripes and bright stars

10:01 through The perilous

10:05 fight

10:07 or the rail parts we watched

10:12 were so gallently

10:16 streaming.

10:18 And the rockets

10:21 red glare.

10:23 The bombs bursting

10:26 in air

10:30 gave proof through the night

10:35 that our flag was still there.

10:41 Oh, say does that star spangled

10:47 B

10:49 yet

10:54 or the land

10:57 of the free

11:04 and the home

11:07 of the

11:09 brave.

11:11 Ladies and gentlemen, Jason R.

11:23 >> How about a little copperhead road to

11:25 get us going in the smallest game in

11:28 Banana Ball history? It's the Texas

11:30 Tailgator at 6 and 8 as the home team

11:33 against the 11 and2 Savannah Bananas.

11:36 The sixth time this year between the

11:38 regular season and the Banana Ball Open

11:41 that these two teams have squared off.

11:43 And with the Longhorn cattle grazing off

11:46 in the distance,

11:49 the Gator and Nanners do battle in front

11:52 of 1,000 fans

11:55 here on a high school baseball field.

11:59 Take a look at the Tailgator defensive

12:01 alignment left to right in the outfield.

12:03 Zach Watson, Indiana Stanley and Jose

12:05 Gonzalez Jr. third to first in the

12:07 infield. It's Jordan Bar, Jordan

12:09 Hussein, M Danford and Taylor Justice,

12:11 Taj Porter behind the plate and Jonathan

12:14 Lutters the designated fielder. We

12:15 expect to see him at second base all

12:17 night.

12:27 Well, it's going to be really exciting

12:28 to see Lutters and Hussein working in

12:30 this ballpark, especially considering

12:32 they have accounted for 48% of the

12:35 Tailgator total team trick plays this

12:37 season. Awfully impressive from that

12:40 duo. Yeah, you see Looters the 41 trick

12:42 plays. He has a 10 trick play lead over

12:46 Hussein and company for the trick play

12:49 lead here in Banana Ball this year.

12:50 Hussein with 31 trick plays. That's tied

12:52 for second in the league. That's how

12:54 much of a difference maker Jonathan

12:56 Lutters has been here in his second

12:58 world tour. And Brett Sanchez, a guy who

13:01 moonlighted in Banana Ball last year on

13:03 our sports developmental team, the

13:05 visitors here in his first full tour.

13:07 Boy, he has been unreal for the

13:10 Tailgator. Six appearances out of the

13:12 pen. Just had his first start last

13:14 Friday. And he was dynamic once again.

13:16 had his best out.

13:24 So far this year

13:27 as well and you see a 3minut 42 second

13:30 minutes per inning mark for Brett

13:32 Sanchez. That is top 10 in the Banana

13:34 Ball Championship League and opponents

13:36 batting just 200 against him this

13:39 season. He is very tough to bat against

13:42 and I have heard these Bananas batters

13:44 talking about how his fast ball has this

13:46 rise to it. Something that they don't

13:48 see very frequently and has certainly

13:51 been a bit of a challenge for them. The

13:53 2023 Division 3 National Pitcher of the

13:56 Year, third all time in D3 strikeouts as

14:00 well. And the lineup that opposes him.

14:03 Great to see Dr. Meadows at the top of

14:05 it. He got the start last Sunday in

14:07 Yankee Stadium was pulled after three

14:09 innings. He's hoping to get half a game

14:11 in here tonight. Then Reese selects

14:13 Yiatis and Max Young Goldberg. The

14:14 cleanup man Dan Over is scorching hot.

14:17 Kyle Jackson that 1.269 OPS as you can

14:20 see second best in the entire league.

14:23 And then Bill Loy Jackson Olsson, Robert

14:24 Anthony Cruz, Danny Hosley, and Ryan Cox

14:27 to round it out. Well, there's nobody

14:28 swinging the bat like Dan Overburst

14:30 right now in Banana Ball. He's just been

14:32 a phenomenal bat. seven hits across his

14:34 last three regular season games. And

14:37 Ryan Cox at the bottom of the order,

14:39 he's the team leader in WRC plus this

14:42 season, a 169 mark, meaning he's been

14:46 69% better than the tour average bat.

14:53 >> And the great state of Texas, we're

14:55 going to say light the grill. So on

14:57 three, I want you to help me say light

14:59 the grill. Ready? Ready? One, two,

15:02 three.

15:04 Show time.

15:05 >> Showtime.

15:07 >> Savannah's number.

15:08 >> What a treat. This is the first time I

15:09 ever got to see Joe Molick light the

15:11 grill.

15:12 >> And at least he didn't burn down

15:13 Navasota High School. Tell you what,

15:15 he's almost burnt down a couple of

15:16 stadiums across the country. But here,

15:18 man, in Banana Bowl's smallest game

15:19 ever, he doesn't.

15:20 >> Look out. Dr. Meadows plunked on the

15:22 first offering from Brett Sanchez.

15:25 And the doctor will hobble his way to

15:28 first base and pull off one pump of

15:31 Brett Sanchez's infamous thank you

15:33 celebration. Just one pump. That's not a

15:36 flag. And right off the kester, that's

15:38 where you want to get hit.

15:39 >> Nothing excessive about that whatsoever.

15:41 Wise move from Meadows at the start of

15:43 the ball game. You do not want to get

15:45 any kind of penalty this early.

15:48 >> So Dr. reaching base at a 511 clip that

15:51 will go up and a ball and a strike on

15:54 Reese Alexiotis the right fielder

15:58 liner straight to Hussein between the

16:00 legs over to first and it's a wild

16:02 throw.

16:04 Not a lot of room in foul territory

16:06 though so Meadow stays put.

16:07 >> That's point I was going to make there

16:08 Bo. There's hardly any room in foul

16:10 territory here at Navasota High School

16:12 in Bunkerfield, but almost a 6-3 double

16:15 play with an L3 beginning or L6, excuse

16:18 me, beginning it.

16:20 >> I hope that Tristan Lec is okay. I think

16:22 he is. That was a chopper from his

16:25 fellow rookie Max Young Goldberg. I

16:26 think it bounced right off LC's noggin.

16:31 Seems no worse for wear.

16:34 This is as close as any dugout has ever

16:37 been to home plate in Banana Ball

16:39 history. The fans right on top of you as

16:41 well

16:43 >> as Young Goldberg down swinging. And

16:45 there you go, Mr. Loftess.

16:47 >> Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Sanche

16:50 with his first strike out here. And I

16:53 believe him and Tai's got a little

16:55 something going on. 25 now leading all

16:58 the BBCL by himself.

17:01 >> Yeah. and entered tonight's contest with

17:03 a strikeout rate just a hair above 28%.

17:06 The third best mark in the Banana Ball

17:08 Championship League. And Sanchez, he

17:11 will tell you that's not what I'm known

17:13 for in this sport, but he is certainly

17:15 excelling at it in his rookie year.

17:17 Obururst poked out to right center. Nice

17:19 running catch Indiana Stanley to take

17:22 extra bases away from Danny O and keep

17:25 Meadows from scoring.

17:27 >> Quick inning for the Texas Tailgator. No

17:29 trick plays, but a strike out for Brett

17:32 Sanchez and 1 minute and 59 seconds on

17:36 the clock.

17:36 >> He He just works quickly and guys who

17:38 work quickly are always going to work

17:40 better than others in banana ball. Even

17:41 the hit by pitch right there was on the

17:43 first pitch to DR. Brett Sanchez

17:45 continue to do Brent Sanchez things.

17:47 >> So a goose egg in the first from the

17:49 tailgator defensively. The Bananas will

17:51 have to answer with the exact same

17:54 outcome to keep the tailgator out of the

17:56 allimportant points department. Left to

17:57 right in the nanners outfield it is Rack

18:00 the doctor and Super Reese third to

18:02 first in the infield. KJ Cox Olsen and

18:04 MJG. Bill Loy is the catcher and Ziggy

18:07 the designated fielder. Yeah, Dr.

18:09 Meadows told us before the contest he's

18:11 still at about 85% right now with his

18:14 health. He might spend half of the night

18:16 in center field for the Savannah

18:17 Bananas. Nonetheless, he is still the

18:20 team leader in trick plays, but a little

18:22 bit hampered in his back flip abilities.

18:24 Nevertheless, you've got Robert Anthony

18:26 Cruz in left field. Very capable of

18:28 doing that and certainly wants to put on

18:30 a show for the thousand folks here in

18:32 Bunker Field. And in the middle of it

18:34 all, Cowboy Kyle, the 9-year banana,

18:37 back in his original home state out of

18:40 the Fort Worth, Texas area before moving

18:42 to Richmond Hill, Georgia in fourth

18:44 grade. And Ligs here in his fifth world

18:48 tour trying to find some consistency.

18:51 >> Yeah, making his first start of the

18:52 regular season. got the start in game

18:54 two of the Banana Ball Open against the

18:56 Texas Tailgator. First time through the

18:58 order, it was seamless for Cowboy Kyle,

19:01 but that second time through, Kyle

19:03 Martin, McDanford each collected a walk

19:05 up home run against him. He'll be trying

19:07 to keep the ball here in the yard

19:08 tonight against a potent Gator lineup.

19:12 >> Yeah, you see both those cats in the

19:14 lineup here tonight for the tailgator at

19:16 the top as per usual, Nick Lopez. Then

19:18 it's Wadi Kmart Bar Justice Brother

19:23 Danford the quadfather Indie and

19:26 Hussein.

19:26 >> See those 20 home runs. Half of those

19:28 have come in football stadiums this

19:30 year. The other in baseball stadiums.

19:32 Now playing in the shortest baseball

19:34 stadium that we'll play in here in 2026

19:37 in Banana Ball. See how many this

19:38 powerful Tailgator lineup can add up

19:40 here tonight.

19:43 Lopez, the switchhitting designated

19:45 hitter

19:47 >> here in his sophomore campaign for the

19:48 Gator

19:50 >> and tearing it up once again as you can

19:53 see hitting .298 OPS north of 900.

20:02 >> Quickly ahead. Two balls, no strikes.

20:13 slider in there to even up the count.

20:15 >> And after the bananas with a zero in the

20:17 top half, this is the first time the

20:19 tailgator can ever walk off the bananas

20:21 in a regular season matchup. The only

20:23 time the tailgator have ever been the

20:24 home team was in the open against the

20:26 Savannah Banas.

20:31 >> Bender misses just a pinch low. It's a

20:34 full count on Lopez. worked a couple

20:36 ball four sprints last weekend and able

20:39 to spoil this payoff.

20:43 It's part of a two for nine three-game

20:45 series against the Loco Beach Coconuts.

20:48 Coconuts taking two out of the three

20:49 games.

20:53 A slider is fouled right to Alex

20:57 Ziggler. Not currently in the game,

20:58 though.

20:59 >> Good battle to start this ball game.

21:02 Lopez already with seven pitches seen

21:04 against Cowboy Kyle. And here comes

21:06 pitch number eight. Another payoff from

21:08 Kyle. Chopped on the ground and MJG has

21:12 a tough time handling that one. It winds

21:14 up dribbling past Jackson Olsen as well.

21:17 And that will be an early error in the

21:20 contest for Young Goldberg at first.

21:22 That's the first error in Max Young

21:24 Goldberg's banana ball career.

21:28 >> He's been pretty darn sure-handed over

21:30 there at 1B. Even though his primary

21:33 position coming into banana ball was as

21:35 an outfielder. Guy who could play

21:37 anywhere. Proving that here in his first

21:39 season in yellow. 10 count on Zack

21:42 Watson

21:44 and making a ball and a strike.

21:46 >> And you know Wadi really got going last

21:48 Sunday. Couple hits last Sunday

21:50 including the walk-off winner against

21:52 the Coconuts in the bottom of the ninth

21:54 in Amarillo.

21:56 >> Straightaway center. Dr. Meadows in

21:58 retreat.

22:01 puts it away for the first out here in

22:02 the bottom of the first.

22:05 >> Yeah, Watson heck of a weekend. Five for

22:07 nine, a double and of course had the

22:10 walk-off to claim that one victory for

22:12 the Gator. And the Tailgator have

22:14 decided to reward him by putting him up

22:16 into this two-hole lately. Another one

22:19 well struck off the bat of Zack Watson.

22:21 But first out winds up in the glove of

22:24 Dr. Meadows as Kyle jumps ahead of

22:27 Martin 01. the Kyle on Kyle battle.

22:32 You mentioned mentioned it just a couple

22:34 moments ago, but it was Kmart who

22:37 stopped a cruising Kyle Luig in the

22:39 Banana Ball Open final game two after he

22:42 had gone three and two/3 scoreless

22:43 innings. The Kyle Martin solo home run

22:46 changed everything.

22:47 >> It was such a momentum shifter in that

22:49 game. That's what Kmart can do here

22:50 hitting in your three hole.

22:52 >> Yeah. Tied the game at one and then you

22:54 had the Danford three-run shot to win

22:56 the next inning. The rest was history.

23:03 And Kmart has been unreal. Absolutely

23:06 unreal. Fourthround draft pick after 5

23:08 years of minor league baseball over a

23:10 decade in pro ball. Comes into banana

23:13 ball hitting 326 leading the tailgator

23:16 with his 492 on base percentage. Tied

23:19 with brother for the tour lead with his

23:20 five home runs.

23:24 And this one launched deep out to right

23:26 center. Kyle Martin stands alone at top

23:29 the home run leaderboard. His sixth of

23:32 the season. It's one- nothing tailgator.

23:34 >> And welcome to the action yet again.

23:37 Kyle Martin as you just said it, Mo. Six

23:41 Yaya number one by himself in the first

23:44 ever walk-off for the Texas Tailgator

23:47 against those Savannah Bananas in the

23:49 Banana Ball Championship League. And

23:52 five of those long balls have come here

23:55 in the month of April for Kyle Martin

23:58 putting on a pretty compelling case to

24:00 potentially be Banana Balls player of

24:02 the month.

24:05 Sends it out to the cows.

24:09 Kmart one with Mother Nature and it is

24:13 one- nothing tailgator. One inning in

24:16 the books. Let's hear from the head

24:17 coach of the Bananas, Tyler Gillum with

24:19 ESP. Yeah, thanks guys. Coach Gillum, I

24:22 know we're you could look ahead and say

24:24 we're going to play in front of over

24:25 100,000 people this weekend, but why is

24:28 this 1,00 seat stadium so important and

24:32 so valuable for yourself and these guys

24:34 to come out and play in?

24:35 >> Well, we never stopped testing and

24:37 that's why we did this pop-up. We wanted

24:38 to do something unique. We wanted to

24:39 surprise the fans here in College

24:41 Station. This place is a awesome. Right

24:44 outside of College Station is Navasoto

24:46 High School. Here they are. Thousand

24:48 fans here. It's intimate. This thing's

24:50 going to be a ton of fun. These kids,

24:52 these kids right here are going to

24:53 remember this for the rest of their

24:54 life. It's going to be fun.

24:56 >> Coastal Plane League, it wasn't that

24:57 long ago. Does this kind of bring you

24:59 back to that thinking about coming to

25:01 maybe some smaller stadiums where maybe

25:03 a thousand fans could be hard to come by

25:04 at sometimes?

25:05 >> Yeah, you know, 10 years ago, I was

25:07 coaching summer collegiate baseball here

25:08 in Brazos Valley and coming back to this

25:11 city, having some fun with these fans

25:13 and bringing bananas here and banana

25:15 ball. This thing's special. I'm so fired

25:17 up for it. It's going to be a great

25:18 night.

25:19 >> All right. Thanks, coach. Guys, let's

25:20 get back to the game.

25:21 >> Thank you, Sam.

25:23 Kyle Jackson here to lead off the second

25:25 inning. Brett Sanchez with a point

25:27 earned to start his evening after he

25:29 twirled five scoreless last Friday with

25:32 10ks against the Coconuts and earned

25:35 three points throughout that outing.

25:37 >> Just earned that first point on the back

25:38 of the tailgator first ever walk-off

25:40 against the Bananas in the state of

25:42 Texas. How special is that?

25:46 That one misses inside. Kyle Jackson

25:49 racing around first and then slams the

25:51 brakes.

25:54 >> His fifth ball for sprint of the year.

25:57 It's a guy who came in with a 489 on

25:59 base percentage after he led last year's

26:01 tour, reaching base at a 481 clip.

26:03 >> Yeah, there's been a little bit of an

26:05 adjustment to Kyle Jackson's game. He's

26:07 gotten hit for a lot more power, batting

26:09 in the four and five spots, not

26:10 necessarily having to be that big OBP

26:13 guy he was last season. But a timely

26:16 sprint for Kyle Jackson, getting the

26:18 leadoff man on for Billy, who's been

26:21 redhot since San Diego for the Savannah

26:23 Bananas.

26:25 Nanders had the leadoff man on in the

26:28 top of the first inning. Sanchez retired

26:29 Alexi Young, Goldberg, and Oburst in

26:32 order.

26:34 and now has a 1-1 count on the captain,

26:36 Bill Loy.

26:44 That one just misses.

26:50 And a chance for the fans. No, that

26:53 one's all the way

26:56 out of Bunker Field.

27:07 2-2

27:10 >> count is full. Loy comes in hitting .341

27:13 a 426 on base percentage.

27:17 Stupendous offensive numbers here in his

27:19 fifth world tour. He's caught looking

27:21 there. Bottom of the zone. Sanchez does

27:23 it again.

27:24 >> Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Second

27:28 strike out of the ball game for Brad

27:29 Sanchez. And a beautiful spinner in

27:31 there on the inner half. Sanchez tells

27:33 me all the time when he gets a three

27:35 ball count, he's going to put it in the

27:36 zone and right there paint to get the

27:38 captain.

27:39 >> Jackson Olsen highf fly ball left side.

27:42 Long run for Zack Watson. Tries a

27:44 leaping spinning behind the back catch.

27:46 Comes up empty

27:51 >> and Jackie aboard

27:54 as KJ moves up to second. Just one out.

27:58 body. His second miss trick play in

28:00 three tries in the regular season. I

28:01 mean, this would have been absolutely

28:03 gnarly.

28:08 And I don't think you feel particularly

28:10 pained by Watson trying that, trying to

28:13 dazzle the fans early tonight. You're

28:14 already up a point in the contest.

28:16 Really, no harm, no foul yet. But it

28:18 does put Sanchez in a little bit of a

28:21 tricky position as this one's a looper

28:23 off the bat of Cruz. And how about

28:26 Jonathan Lutters? How many juggles is he

28:29 going to do? At least six before the

28:32 banana ball is in the glove of Brett

28:35 Sanchez.

28:37 It only goes down as one bucket

28:39 officially, but one 2 3 4 5 6 7

28:46 kicks legs before he gets it back to

28:48 Sani. What a trick play here.

28:50 >> And to leading 42nd trick play on the

28:52 year for Sunshine.

28:55 Two down now as KJ dances off second and

28:59 Danny Hosley swings and misses on the

29:00 fast ball behind 0 and two.

29:04 >> As you can see, Hosley only hitting 077,

29:07 but that's just one for 13 as he's down

29:09 swinging. Sanchez, another K.

29:11 >> Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Third

29:14 strike out of the ball game for the

29:16 Banana Ball Championships leader in

29:18 Pulch. And how about that? Throws a

29:21 backto back donuts here to begin it for

29:23 the Texas Tailgator. And you're just

29:25 seeing exactly what makes him so

29:27 effective on that mound. He goes bottom

29:29 of the zone against Loy for a strike at

29:31 looking. Elevates against Danny Hosley.

29:34 And once again, it's quick work despite

29:36 the jam. 3 minutes 27 seconds for

29:40 Sanchez. It was just good old country

29:42 hard ball. 02 fast ball. Hit it if you

29:45 can.

29:46 >> And he picks up his left fielder as

29:48 well. So still one- nothing Tailgator.

29:51 An inning and a half in the books. and

29:53 cowboy Kyle Luig. Welcome to the

29:56 broadcast, old friend.

29:58 >> How you guys doing? It sounds like you

30:00 guys blast I know we went back to high

30:01 school, but it sounds like in my ear you

30:03 guys blasted back to the 1940s.

30:05 >> Yeah, that's how it sounds in our ears

30:06 as well. We're just going to assume that

30:08 the world of banana ball YouTube hears

30:10 as crisp as could be.

30:11 >> Yeah,

30:12 >> Fisher Polydorov's running our sound

30:14 tonight, Kyle.

30:15 >> That's what it sounds like.

30:16 >> Great to have you old spot.

30:19 >> Kyle, what's this feel like for you,

30:20 man? I mean, we just keep doing new

30:22 things. I've been here for so long and

30:24 keep getting to do things for the first

30:26 time.

30:27 >> Um, fast ball feels good.

30:29 >> Buted up against a good hitter and Kyle

30:31 Martin. Try to challenge him

30:33 >> one too many times. But

30:35 >> going to try and get us back in and uh

30:38 even it up. Give our offense another

30:40 chance, man. But I mean, this is this is

30:42 surreal. I feel like I'm back in the CPL

30:43 playing at Macon Bacon at Luther

30:45 Williams Park or something.

30:46 >> Feels like Ashboro, North Carolina for

30:48 me. But you missed the zookeepers. Now,

30:50 I am so curious, Kyle. I just want to

30:53 know from your point of view what the

30:55 experience is like getting on a bus that

30:57 leaves Kyle Field, coming all the way

31:00 here to Navasota High School, getting a

31:02 police escort, and then getting off the

31:05 bus and hopping right up on the stage to

31:07 dance in front of fans.

31:08 >> I mean, it really felt like it took me

31:10 back to middle school, you know, like

31:12 full uniform, getting on the bus, got to

31:14 drive 30 minutes down the road, play

31:15 somebody. Um, you know, constant hoops

31:18 that we're trying to jump through. I

31:19 don't even know how we have a broadcast

31:20 right now, but there's a lot of talented

31:22 people in this organization.

31:26 >> One of those is Jordan Barf who you

31:28 start with a fast ball first strike

31:35 and a base knock to open up this bottom

31:38 of the second for Bar after he was seven

31:40 for 11 last weekend with a homer.

31:42 >> Yeah, he's a pretty good hitter.

31:44 >> Uh here. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just glad he

31:47 didn't go backside. I heard that he's

31:49 he's at his best when he's going

31:50 backside. So, at least that means that I

31:52 showed him a little something different.

31:53 >> That's how we got your buddy Niz in the

31:54 open.

31:55 >> Huh? No, no, no, no, no. Taylor wanted

31:58 to know if I was on the wheel.

32:01 >> I am not.

32:04 >> For those who may not know, the wheel of

32:06 unfortunate got Taylor Justice a slider

32:09 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He hit

32:11 it about 430 ft off of Kyle.

32:14 >> Man, I love those pictures.

32:17 He did. Nico, thanks for reminding.

32:19 >> That looked really good there, Kyle. Be

32:21 honest.

32:24 >> Vincent Chapman disagrees.

32:26 >> There we go. We got one

32:35 >> out to right center. And that's going to

32:37 be one hop off the wall.

32:39 >> Playing throw out.

32:41 >> Alexi firing in. Bar getting the

32:43 windmill. Relay from Cox. Not in time.

32:48 And Taylor Justice with the walk-off

32:50 winner for the second.

32:51 >> That was a quick one.

32:53 >> Yeah, Kyle, we appreciate you, man.

32:54 Thank you.

32:56 >> We love you, Kyle. Thank you.

33:00 >> Banana ball giveth. Banana ball taketh

33:03 away. Sometimes you get to talk to your

33:05 miked up pitcher for just two batters.

33:08 >> I never lie. And these tailgators bats

33:10 not lying right now. Up two to nothing.

33:11 Taylor Justice and Cal Martin walkoffs

33:14 here after a couple frames. Let's go

33:16 down to Rex Castillo

33:21 superintendent. So, this is just a

33:22 normal Thursday here in Navasota, Texas,

33:24 is it?

33:25 >> Every Thursday night in Navasota,

33:26 America, come join us. Have a lot of

33:28 fun.

33:29 >> A lot of the times a smaller community

33:31 like this can get a look overlooked.

33:32 What is it like to be in the spotlight

33:33 of one of the hottest sports around the

33:35 country right now?

33:36 >> We've been looking forward to this for

33:37 so long. Uh, one of the coolest things

33:39 tonight when he asked how many folks

33:41 have never been to a Bananas game and

33:43 90% of the folks all raised their hand

33:45 and yelled and cheered. Maybe they can't

33:47 come out Saturday night at Kyle Field,

33:48 but they can come out Thursday night at

33:50 Navasota and it's really, really cool.

33:52 >> Where would this memory rank in in your

33:54 time here at Navasota?

33:56 >> Best night in the 10 years that we've

33:58 been here at Navasota.

33:59 >> That's a way to end it off, guys. Let's

34:00 send it back up to you.

34:02 >> Thank you, Rex. That is really cool to

34:04 hear.

34:05 >> It's a beautiful little town. population

34:08 estimated as of 2024 about 9,000 people.

34:12 >> So, according to my math, we've got

34:15 about a ninth of the town here, Bunker

34:17 Field tonight.

34:19 >> And you can see it. I mean, it's just a

34:21 lot of farmland. Got the interstate out

34:23 behind us today. Kind of had like a

34:24 field of dreams feel right when we

34:27 announced it at 3:30 when Jesse Cole put

34:29 out the announcement. You looked out

34:30 there about 15 minutes later and you

34:32 seen just headlights and people standing

34:34 out here and it was such a beautiful

34:35 thing to remind you what our sport is

34:38 all about. And we had the stage show

34:40 right out here in front of the high

34:41 school. I actually got to talk to a lady

34:43 who teaches forensics here at Navasota

34:45 High School. Right behind her was one of

34:47 her students and it was just such a

34:50 special moment in line about 20 minutes

34:51 after the announcement.

34:53 >> Cool to see kids out beyond the outfield

34:55 wall.

34:57 You were not a part of the first a

34:59 thousand fans in the stadium. Looks like

35:01 there's a couple other ways for you to

35:03 view the ball game.

35:06 >> Ball and a strike on Ryan Cox. 10-1 and

35:09 two in the order here for the Bananas as

35:11 that one scrapes the outside corner.

35:17 Trick pitch chopped the opposite way.

35:20 Bar behind the back transfer and it

35:23 pulls Justice off of first base. Good

35:25 hustle by Cox. He will reach on the

35:28 trick play missed

35:29 >> again. And you saw Bar little bit of a

35:32 slow transition behind the back as well.

35:35 And that's what kind of caused him to

35:37 slightly overcorrect. Throw this one up

35:39 the line. And again, good hustle by Ryan

35:42 Cox. He's on first and the Bananas are

35:45 going to opt to take him off the bags

35:46 and use their designated runner, Bryce

35:48 Graafi. Chance for the fans and not

35:51 caught on the burm down the right field

35:53 line as we're back at the top of the

35:54 order. Dr. Meadows plunked on the very

35:57 first pitch of the ball game

36:02 >> quickly behind O2.

36:03 >> And what about the speed combo here?

36:05 Gafi the designated runner 11 stolen

36:07 bases. Dr. 11 stolen bases. Top of the

36:09 league here in steals. Man on first man

36:11 in the right-handed batters box.

36:13 >> Another trick pitch attempt. The fast

36:14 ball is yanked wide.

36:22 Grizz dancing off of first base. He has

36:25 been stupendous filling in for JT

36:28 Sakalov in that designated runner spot.

36:30 Bananas expecting Sakalov to be back off

36:33 the injured list any week now.

36:40 >> Another one, two, another foul ball.

36:45 This is like an unstoppable object

36:49 running into an immovable. There's a I

36:52 think the object was actually supposed

36:53 to be a force. Yeah, an unstoppable

36:55 force running into an immovable object.

36:57 Brett Sanchez, tour leader in strikeouts

36:59 against one of the toughest guys to

37:01 strike out in the sport.

37:03 >> Dr. only struck out 3.7%

37:06 of his plate appearances last year. That

37:08 was tied with Cox for third best in the

37:10 tour.

37:12 The only two guys ahead of him, Jordan

37:14 Hussein and Jonathan Lutters.

37:16 >> Tell you what, Dr's donating a lot of

37:18 banana balls to Navasa High School right

37:20 now. As many as he's fouled off on the

37:21 first base side.

37:24 >> Another two strike offering. Another

37:26 foul ball.

37:27 >> Look at

37:30 like what you want me to do?

37:32 >> Good job, Brandon Pennington running out

37:34 to refill

37:37 Vincent Chapman's storage. And another

37:40 foul ball. Son of a gun.

37:43 >> Yeah, we will get double digit pitches

37:45 in this battle between Meadows and

37:47 Sanchez. Nine pitches so far. And

37:50 Sanchez about to come set with number

37:52 10.

37:57 This one should be playable. Taj Porter

38:00 tries to go behind the back.

38:02 >> He comes up empty. We're going to get an

38:03 11th pitch from Sanchez to Meadows.

38:10 Taj going first. First trick play this

38:12 year. That would not be a between the

38:14 legs transfer on a strikeout down the

38:16 first. Would have been his first behind

38:18 the back catch, but not to be.

38:21 >> Another 22. This one yanked just barely

38:24 fouled. Jeep. That guy is a banana ball

38:27 magnet.

38:29 >> He's one of Rack's fantastic

38:30 videographers.

38:31 >> And the camera's fine, too. For everyone

38:33 wondering,

38:34 >> I talked to Jeep it during the stage

38:36 show today. I said be careful. There's

38:38 not a lot of foul territory. Oh man, he

38:41 took that one off the knee.

38:45 >> 12th pitch

38:47 straightaway center. Indiana Stanley.

38:50 Tornado catch for out number one in the

38:53 third.

38:54 >> Bucket.

38:56 >> Three trick plays. All ready for the

38:58 boys in blue and orange. And what about

39:00 that one? Casual as it comes for Mr.

39:03 Andy. I'm not sure that there's a more

39:05 thrilling way than that to end a 12

39:07 pitch battle between Meadows and Brett

39:10 Sanchez. Impressive work from Stanley

39:13 and a little center fielder on center

39:15 fielder crime.

39:16 >> What's that?

39:17 >> One-1. Oh yeah, one-1 count on Reese

39:22 Selectiatis. Do not always trust your

39:24 score, bug. Anomaly, right? That's a

39:28 great stop by Taylor Justice on the back

39:30 pick from Taj Porter. It is a 2-1 count

39:33 everybody. Two balls, one strike. There

39:36 it is.

39:38 And now it's 3-1.

39:41 Alexiotis lined up to short his first

39:43 time and crushes this deep to left. If

39:47 it's fair, it's gone. No. If it's fair,

39:50 it's going to not even make it to the

39:51 warning track.

39:54 >> I'm going be honest with you, Bo. Wind's

39:55 blowing in about 10 to 20 miles an hour.

39:58 That ball got up there in the windstream

40:00 and got knocked down very quickly. You

40:03 could tell by Zack Watson out there and

40:04 left. Watch this path he takes. Reese

40:07 thought it was way gone too. It wasn't

40:08 just you. And then why able to get to it

40:10 for out number two.

40:13 >> Yeah, the American flag in center field

40:15 is blowing straight in. In fact, even a

40:18 little bit in from left. So that's the

40:21 worst place to try and put a ball out of

40:25 Bunker Field tonight.

40:27 One-1 count on Max Young Goldberg.

40:32 >> The first of Sanchez's three strikeout

40:34 victims. There goes Grisafi. Throw from

40:36 Porter

40:38 on the money. Taj Porter strikes again.

40:41 The best in the biz when it comes to

40:43 catching runners stealing.

40:44 >> You don't ever run on Taj Porter. Not on

40:47 Monday, not on Tuesday, not on

40:49 Wednesday, but especially not on a big

40:52 Tiger Texas Thursday. Come now, TP.

40:58 Let's get it down to the field.

40:59 >> There are over 400,000

41:02 children and teens in foster care

41:04 without a permanent home. To raise

41:06 awareness and support this community, we

41:09 created Bananas Foster, the official

41:11 nonprofit of Banana Ball. Our

41:14 organization is dedicated to celebrating

41:16 the foster care community while

41:18 educating and inspiring others to get

41:21 involved. Tonight, we get to celebrate

41:23 the Howell family. David, Kristen, and

41:26 their three biological children opened

41:28 their home 10 years ago as a licensed

41:31 foster family and adopted their very

41:34 first placement. After learning that

41:37 their adoptive son had two younger

41:39 sisters still in foster care, they

41:42 became rellicensed and open their home

41:45 yet again to reunite these three amazing

41:48 siblings. Fans, please join me in

41:52 celebrating this incredible family.

42:22 One more time for our foster family. Oh,

42:26 good job

42:33 right there. Another massive shout out

42:35 to David Kristen and the entire Howell

42:39 family.

42:42 That is what foster care is all about.

42:48 Making sure families can stay together.

42:53 It's as beautiful as it gets.

42:57 It's been a wild two and a half innings

42:59 of action so far here.

43:02 The 30 167th banana ball game ever

43:06 played.

43:07 The first ever popup game. This was

43:09 announced at 3:30 p.m. Central.

43:13 Jesse Cole with an announcement on the

43:15 bus with the tailgator and bananas

43:17 saying, "Hey, first thousand fans that

43:20 can get to Navasota High School, you're

43:22 going to get to watch a banana ball game

43:24 tonight,

43:25 and if you build it, they will come."

43:27 What a fantastic crowd we have on hand.

43:29 >> Yeah, it's really cool. I mean, you

43:31 consider we've said things like the two

43:33 Banana Land Z experiences we've had have

43:36 been some of the most intimate Banana

43:38 Ball experiences for our fans. I think

43:40 this popup game certainly belongs in

43:42 that realm as well. Such a cool

43:45 opportunity for the players, the cast,

43:47 everybody to have such cool intimate

43:49 interactions like you saw right there

43:51 with Space Cowboy.

43:52 >> And not only was it the first thousand

43:53 of people to get here, it was free,

43:56 guys. It was free.

43:58 You just had to get here in enough time.

44:01 >> It's what this sport, what this company,

44:02 what it's all about. Spreading joy as

44:06 Jose Gonzalez Jr. bouncer leaping

44:08 between the legs. Grab Alex Ziggler.

44:13 And the Nanners finally get their first

44:15 trick play of the evening. And a really

44:18 athletic play from Alex Ziggler. One

44:21 that gets a little close to being

44:23 uncomfortable for Ziggy. Nonetheless,

44:25 you see why the Bananas continue to

44:27 utilize him as their designated fielder.

44:30 That's a play that could have eaten up

44:31 MJG. No problem for Zigg.

44:34 >> Watch out for the bait guts. And now

44:37 >> trying to find Peaw. Where's Pete Paul

44:40 at?

44:41 >> Oh, there's Peep.

44:44 >> Peep's got a fantastic shirt on.

44:48 >> He bought it the other day in Fort

44:49 Worth.

44:52 Pet aka Mac Danford

44:55 >> going to go up there and hitting those

44:56 tight fitting jeans.

44:58 >> Peep done gone shopping. Brett

45:02 >> on her way from Emarillo

45:04 here in the College Station. Spent a

45:06 couple nights in the stockyards in Fort

45:08 Worth and Matt Danford spent a lot of

45:11 money and he's wearing it to the plate

45:13 right now.

45:15 >> Proud of Grand Ridge, Florida. I'm sure

45:17 he's felt right at home here in the Lone

45:19 Star State.

45:23 He said, "Brad, I'm going to hit in a

45:24 pearl snap." I said, "All right, you're

45:25 going to look like me up there.

45:28 >> As long as they don't hit like me, be I

45:29 think we'll be okay."

45:30 >> You know what? Funny enough, he's giving

45:32 me shades of me hitting. Yeah. Summer

45:35 2021 with Levon Reoso and Dan Over

45:38 giving me tips on how to get better

45:40 launch angle. Doing a little Seinfeld

45:42 bit after they won the first of Pettic

45:45 Cups. Look it up. Still lives on

45:47 YouTube. Little confusion between

45:50 The Bananas and their entertainment

45:52 crew, they thought it was time to dance.

45:55 >> And instead, it's a ground ball between

45:56 the legs. Flipped back between the legs.

45:59 Olsson behind the back catch Ziggler.

46:02 And just like that, Renad had three

46:04 trick plays each. I mean, this is what

46:06 the bananas like to get out of Cowboy

46:08 Kyle Luig. Over half of the total outs

46:11 he's collected this season have come of

46:12 the trick play variety. And they've been

46:15 working behind him for so long. They're

46:17 very comfortable. They know his style

46:20 and that is no problem for Olsen and

46:22 Ziegler over there on the right side of

46:24 the infield.

46:26 >> Taj Porter yanks this down the right

46:28 field line. Foul.

46:34 >> Seth Markham on top of it.

46:36 >> Seems smoke there.

46:39 >> I don't think that was from Taj's bat.

46:41 It's from Coach Bart down there smoking

46:44 out on the turf.

46:44 >> Oh, that looks delicious, man. I am

46:47 hungry. This is how I learned.

46:53 >> And now we get to dance.

47:00 >> Throwback here.

47:03 >> Oh yeah,

47:08 that one to the back stop, but it is a

47:10 tight back stop. And Taj Porter not the

47:12 fleetest of foot.

47:15 He will stay put in that left-handed

47:17 batters box.

47:19 >> That was a throwback to I think it was

47:21 West Palm Beach 2022. That's one of the

47:24 first 322s that went mega viral.

47:39 >> One, two to the quad father.

47:42 >> Bouncer to Cox.

47:44 between the legs. Ziggy behind the back.

47:47 It's the Keystone State connection to

47:50 put a bow in a five trick play inning

47:52 for the Nanners. And I'll tell you what,

47:53 with the Bananas already down two points

47:56 in this competition, being able to come

47:58 away with five trick plays. Massive of

48:01 them potentially earning that equalizer

48:03 point tonight. Great work from Alec

48:06 Ziggler. Three trick plays from the man

48:09 at first here in the third.

48:13 So, a two nothing tailgator lead through

48:16 three innings of action, but the Bananas

48:18 up two trick plays as they try and earn

48:21 the equalizer point for only the second

48:23 time.

48:25 And it's young existence in the sport.

48:29 >> And you know, the the tailgator have

48:31 been able to negate the equalizer point

48:33 for all but one time this year. was last

48:36 Saturday night when the Coconuts out

48:38 trick played the Tailgator 9 to8 in

48:41 Amarillo. And now they're trying to see

48:42 much of the same thing here from the

48:44 Bananas tonight already through the

48:45 first three frames.

48:50 The Banana Band blasting away

48:57 for our crowd of 1,000 fans here tonight

49:01 in Navasota, Texas.

49:03 The blues capital of Texas, by the way,

49:07 according to Wikipedia.

49:12 The Blues capital of Texas. I was just

49:15 absolutely tickled when I read that

49:17 line. Now, are there are there local

49:19 establishments where we can go and take

49:21 in some blues? There have to be.

49:24 >> If it's the Blues Capital,

49:26 >> you would think.

49:28 >> Come on.

49:30 >> I'm sure they're around every corner.

49:33 >> Only 9,000 residents, but 3,000 Blues.

49:37 You've never You're telling me you've

49:38 never been to the Bunkerfield Blues

49:40 Festival?

49:44 Brett Sanchez has coasted through three

49:46 scoreless innings. He's got the big

49:49 boppers for the bananas as we kick off

49:52 our fourth frame. Max Young Goldberg a

49:55 mile high deep down the right field line

49:59 and it's going to reach the Burm.

50:03 MJG had his first banana ball home run

50:06 last weekend in Yankee Stadium. two-run

50:09 shot off the foul pole that tied the

50:11 seventh inning in game one in the Bronx.

50:18 Struck out swinging his first time

50:20 against Sanchez. Was at the dish when

50:23 Gafi was thrown out trying to steal

50:25 second to close the top of the third.

50:27 And he goes down swinging here.

50:30 Sanchez his fourth punchy.

50:33 >> Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. How

50:36 about it from Sanche yet again that time

50:40 not a high fast ball throws him a little

50:42 spin on it for his fourth strike out.

50:44 I'm telling you it looks like he's got

50:46 all the pitches working right now in his

50:49 arsenal. Just tremendous stuff from

50:52 Sanchez who gets behind Obur 10. And now

50:56 this one popped in the air. Hussein with

50:58 the tip to Jordan Bar and he will

51:01 capture that one behind his back. We are

51:04 back to all square in this trick play

51:06 battle. Five apiece for the Nanners and

51:09 the Gator.

51:10 >> Book it. Book it. That Jordan Jordan

51:12 connection right there. Fiverr to Sixer.

51:15 No hattip drill. Just tip drill behind

51:17 the back. A little flare there from

51:19 Princess JB.

51:22 >> Kyle Jackson takes that floater in for

51:24 strike one. Worked the ball for sprint

51:27 and then was stranded on second. Back in

51:29 the second.

51:34 KJ coming off a three for six weekend in

51:36 Yankee Stadium.

51:38 >> Trick pitch.

51:41 >> Love the creative catching form there

51:44 from Taj Porter.

51:49 Popped up in the infield. Looters with

51:51 an emphatic call. Tip drill. Hussein

51:55 into the cowboy hat. And it's backto

51:57 back double trick plays. A one, two,

51:59 three inning for Sanchez.

52:01 >> Bucket galore. Four trick plays, two

52:04 outs.

52:05 >> Jordan Hussein with two of them.

52:07 Sunshine and Jordan Barad the other two.

52:10 And just like that, seven to five. The

52:12 tailgator are back up in trick plays.

52:14 >> Here's Jesse Cole.

52:15 >> Strong here tonight. Everybody on your

52:19 feet

52:20 cuz we're going to do the biggest have

52:22 baby this town has ever seen. So, I need

52:24 to get your hands up in the air. Get

52:26 your hands all the way up in the air.

52:29 And here we go, Shark. Let's get it

52:32 clapping. Here we go.

52:41 >> Oh, you guys look good. Get those arms

52:44 waving. Here we go.

52:57 Keep it going. Get those hands up.

53:11 Now, keep it clapping as we shuffle.

53:24 >> Now, let me hear you sing it. Here we

53:27 go.

53:40 One more time.

53:53 You guys are the best. Give yourselves a

53:55 round of applause.

53:59 >> The smallest Tay Baby in Banana Ball

54:01 history, but chalk full of energy.

54:04 >> NP Stanley

54:06 >> here from the baseball field of Navasota

54:09 High School in Navasota, Texas. We are a

54:11 long way away from Niantic, Connecticut,

54:14 the hometown of Tristan Lec, the

54:15 Banana's fifth round draft pick and

54:18 rookie who started redhot has counted

54:20 his first adversity in his banana ball

54:22 career across the last few outings.

54:24 Yeah, we saw 27 pitches last Sunday for

54:26 Tristan Lec. A inning that lasted over

54:29 five minutes, surrendered three points

54:32 as the eighth inning became the final

54:34 inning and the party animals were able

54:35 to put three on the board. So, a little

54:37 bit of a tricky time for Tristan Lec.

54:39 Nonetheless, you saw the MPI for LEC at

54:42 3 minutes and 29 seconds. That is still

54:44 third among qualified pitchers in Banana

54:47 Ball. So, this guy working fast, which

54:49 was very much a goal for him in his

54:51 rookie campaign. Indiana Stanley, a foul

54:54 ball,

54:57 >> not caught by the fans.

54:59 >> Ball and a strike

55:01 >> on Indie here in his second tour with

55:03 the Tailgator. third tour overall after

55:07 he split 2024 between the visitors and

55:09 party animals.

55:15 >> Indie a dangerous bat

55:18 lurking in the nine hole guy you saw at

55:21 the top of this tailgator order a ton

55:23 last year.

55:24 >> Yeah, hit lead off for the majority of

55:25 the time last year for the tailgator

55:27 until Travis Mono came on really strong

55:29 September. It inserted himself back into

55:31 that leadoff spot. But a strong bottom

55:32 half of the lineup here with Indie

55:34 Jordan Hussein. Nine and 10.

55:38 >> Full count on Stanley who's got to look

55:40 out for fast ball change up, curveball,

55:42 and slider from LeC.

55:46 And the hater cut on and missed.

55:49 Tristan starts his relief outing with a

55:52 strike out. Yeah, and the strikeout has

55:53 really plagued Indiana Stanley for much

55:55 of this season. You see the frustration

55:57 as he's as he's heading back to the

55:59 dugout. Nice elevated fast ball from

56:02 Tristan Lec and Bill Laoy teaming up for

56:05 that pitch. And I'm telling you, once

56:07 the tailgator can get Stanley going, it

56:09 will become a much more dangerous

56:11 lineup. He's just got to work on

56:13 becoming or not being his own harshest

56:15 critic.

56:19 >> This guy's got going. Jordan Hussein hit

56:22 safely in all three games in Amarillo. A

56:24 three-game hitting streak for Fiverr and

56:26 the captain.

56:29 And a good fight.

56:31 >> Talked about it earlier when

56:33 >> we were discussing how hard to strike

56:35 out Dr. Meadows is.

56:37 >> Jordan Hussein the second best strikeout

56:40 percentage last year only behind

56:41 Jonathan Lutters.

56:42 >> Well, I think we talk so often about

56:43 Ryan Cox. You know, he's a guy who's

56:45 that perfect 10-hole bat in Banana Ball.

56:48 Jordan Usain is very much following that

56:50 same kind of model. A guy who battles,

56:53 works, played appearances really well,

56:55 and son of a gun. He just finds a way on

56:58 base consistently. A 104 WRC plus right

57:02 now for Hussein, putting him an above

57:04 tour average bat.

57:09 >> No chance for the fans

57:10 >> and especially a guy with Jordan Hussein

57:12 who brings the trick play ability that

57:14 you get. Whatever you get from him

57:15 offensively, it's just a cherry on top.

57:17 top and hitting 286 in that 10hole. He

57:19 has been a big plus this year for the

57:20 tailgator.

57:23 >> Bouncer to Cox. No play. In fact, that

57:28 I would have been pretty shocked if Cox

57:30 would have been able to get Hussein on.

57:31 Official scoring decision.

57:33 >> That's a base knock. I concur.

57:35 >> Four game hitting streak now.

57:37 >> It's actually five

57:38 >> five game hidden streak in a row.

57:40 >> I'm taking one away from Jordan Hussein.

57:47 Yeah, he's he is really swinging a great

57:49 stick. Went three for seven last weekend

57:50 with a double.

57:54 >> Scored a run in all three games.

57:58 Bouncer diving stop. Cox is able to get

58:01 it to Olsen

58:04 for just one.

58:06 But what a job by Ryan Cox to get the

58:08 lead runner after he has to range over

58:10 to his right quite a distance to try and

58:13 attempt to get Hussein out. It is

58:15 unsuccessful. He then moves over to his

58:18 left, makes a great play up the middle,

58:20 and it's not the shovel you necessarily

58:23 love to see. Nonetheless, it works out

58:26 and gets the lead out. Heck of a play

58:28 from Ryan Cox up the middle.

58:32 >> Yeah, a little two hopper glove to glove

58:34 to Olsen. It did the job.

58:37 >> Ball in a strike on Zack Watson, the

58:39 left fielder.

58:41 deep fly out to center his first time.

58:47 >> Fouls that off of himself.

58:50 >> Mentioned Indie trying to get started in

58:51 the bottom of that lineup. We mentioned

58:52 Wadi in his first at bat. Zack Watson

58:54 really got going in Amarillo just

58:56 starting to see it deep in a guy who

58:57 didn't get a whole lot of abs in spring

58:59 training and then hurting Frisco missing

59:00 nearly a month of time now full time

59:02 back in this line. I'm starting to find

59:03 his groove.

59:05 >> Yeah. missed five full games of action

59:08 and then was really slow played back

59:10 into the lineup across the next weekend.

59:11 He got in.

59:16 >> What I personally really like seeing is

59:18 Joe Mik. He continues to toy with the

59:21 guys batting one and two in this lineup.

59:23 Lopez is always pencled in there, but

59:25 from there he likes to ride the guys who

59:27 have a hot bat. We've seen it with

59:29 Stanley. We're now seeing it with Zack

59:30 Watson. And hopefully someone able to

59:33 stick around for a long time as Watson

59:36 gives this a ride out to left field. But

59:38 Rack will hunt it down in left field to

59:41 keep the Gator scoreless in the fourth

59:43 inning.

59:44 >> Great work from Tristan Lec. It's still

59:46 a two nothing Tailgator lead. And let's

59:48 get it on down to Jose Bonitez.

59:51 >> Thank you guys. I'm with the right

59:52 fielder of the Tesla tailgator, Mito.

59:55 Jose, brother Gonzalez. Jose, tell me

59:58 about the experience of playing here in

1:00:00 a high school an hour away from your

1:00:02 hometown.

1:00:02 >> Oh, I mean it's incredible. It's it's

1:00:05 special that we can do something like

1:00:06 this. I mean, everyone that got in here

1:00:08 today got in here completely for free,

1:00:09 which is something unheard of.

1:00:11 >> Yeah, it's amazing. Which country do you

1:00:13 like to go busy playing banana ball?

1:00:17 >> Mexico.

1:00:20 Do you want to say something in Spanish

1:00:22 for your family that are watching right

1:00:23 now?

1:00:31 on Saturday. It's crazy that on Saturday

1:00:33 we are going to be playing with 100k uh

1:00:36 people in there in the football stadia.

1:00:38 Uh tell me the the experience is going

1:00:40 to be like that on Saturday.

1:00:42 >> Oh man, I don't even know if I can put

1:00:43 it in words. I just have to live it. I

1:00:45 mean that's what I've been telling

1:00:46 everyone that comes to one of these

1:00:47 games and that one's going to be

1:00:48 special. Especially

1:00:49 >> banana ball is very crazy, right? Tell

1:00:52 me tell me about the experience. Like

1:00:54 Texas tailgator are playing very good

1:00:56 against the Savana Bananas.

1:00:58 >> I mean, you know, when we see yellow, we

1:01:00 see red. So, we uh we turn it up a notch

1:01:03 for everybody, but those guys

1:01:04 especially.

1:01:05 >> Thank you, brother. Have fun always. And

1:01:07 remember, banana balls. Come back with

1:01:10 our guys in the boat.

1:01:12 >> Much gracias.

1:01:15 >> Fantastic. Oh, he's the best in the biz.

1:01:18 >> Million dollar smile, dude.

1:01:20 That's a collab that we have been

1:01:22 waiting on for quite some time. Oh my

1:01:25 gosh. What the heck was happening on the

1:01:27 field when we had the Joseé Jose

1:01:29 interview?

1:01:30 >> Brother said, "When we see yellow, we

1:01:32 see red." Those do seem much of the

1:01:34 same. Those yellow balloons just come

1:01:36 flying in there at the end. Oh, poor

1:01:38 Beef Daddy.

1:01:42 >> Oh, man. You know what?

1:01:45 I'm pretty sure Radb is he's I I think

1:01:49 he's actually Yeah, I think he's

1:01:50 actually hurt. See, he's a wrestler, so

1:01:52 it's like he could have just been really

1:01:54 acting up there, but I I think got a

1:01:57 good piece of

1:01:58 >> Big Mikey.

1:02:00 >> Oh, man. What are those? The Beef Boys.

1:02:03 The Beefy Boys.

1:02:04 >> The Beefy Boys.

1:02:06 >> That was beef daddy.

1:02:11 >> Do we have brisket in there somewhere?

1:02:13 Have

1:02:13 >> we added any kind of brisket yet?

1:02:15 >> We got beef cakes.

1:02:17 >> Okay,

1:02:17 >> that's the youngest of the Beefy Boys.

1:02:20 >> That's going to be a turf cutter from

1:02:22 Bill Loy. Right back up to shoot.

1:02:25 >> Nanners captain

1:02:27 >> on the first pitch of the fifth inning

1:02:29 is aboard.

1:02:29 >> And that is the first hit of the night

1:02:31 for the Savannah Bananas against Brett

1:02:33 Sanchez.

1:02:35 So breaks up a no hitter that he had

1:02:37 cross scores 59 pitches of the night and

1:02:41 Bill off the bases. Grazafi in for a

1:02:43 second time tonight. Although he's

1:02:46 probably going to be a little more

1:02:47 conservative having been thrown out by

1:02:49 Porter earlier in the ball game.

1:02:54 Yeah, that's multiple times this year

1:02:56 that Grizz has been caught stealing by

1:02:58 Taj Porter and he's 11 for 14 on the

1:03:00 year in total as this one to Barf

1:03:03 between the legs. There's one looters

1:03:05 between the legs. Double trick play.

1:03:07 Double play around the horn. The

1:03:09 Tailgator are scorching tonight. Book

1:03:12 it. Book it. 543 the Texas way. Jordan

1:03:17 Bart to Sunny and then the Taylor

1:03:21 Justice. Noted in bad mama jamas already

1:03:24 and we're only four and two/3 into the

1:03:26 ball game.

1:03:26 >> And this just brings me to another note

1:03:28 that I was just about to get to. First

1:03:30 ground out that Britt Sanchez has

1:03:32 induced in this ball game. And yet the

1:03:34 Tailgator have nine trick play outs

1:03:37 tonight. It goes to show you just how

1:03:39 good this team is and how creative

1:03:41 they've gotten with all their trick

1:03:42 plays.

1:03:43 >> Really nice piece of hitting from Robert

1:03:45 Anthony Cruz. Single the opposite way.

1:03:48 He's aboard with two outs and Danny

1:03:51 Hosley

1:03:53 is supposed to be coming to the plate,

1:03:54 but the entire Bananas team

1:03:58 >> has coalesed on the mound.

1:04:02 What could be happening here?

1:04:14 Good.

1:04:17 But we ain't got no room to move. No

1:04:20 room to move. We need some space

1:04:24 outside.

1:04:30 Put your boots on. Baby, we can do that.

1:04:33 Girl, cut a little loose.

1:04:34 that move that oh yeah I'll take you

1:04:37 dancing in the country

1:05:01 extra special walk up for the rookie

1:05:04 Easton Parish, the pride of Leveria,

1:05:06 Texas, back here in his home state.

1:05:10 And we'll swing it with the man aboard

1:05:11 and two outs here in the top of the

1:05:13 fifth inning. And a guy still hunting

1:05:15 his first career banana ball knock. This

1:05:18 would be a pretty special place for

1:05:19 Parish to get it as he whiffs through

1:05:22 the first pitch from Sanchez.

1:05:27 >> Less than three hours away from us,

1:05:29 Leveria, Texas.

1:05:34 as it's a one-two count on Paris. Spent

1:05:36 his entire college career in Texas as

1:05:39 well. But another strike out victim of

1:05:41 Brett Sanchez, number five on the night.

1:05:44 >> Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. What

1:05:46 else can you say? That's a bad bad man.

1:05:50 Five innings, no runs, and another poche

1:05:55 for Sanche.

1:06:05 Let me show you how to do the Right now

1:06:25 come on

1:06:27 the last

1:06:36 Girl,

1:06:39 we can go fast. We can go slow.

1:06:52 Yeah, baby.

1:07:02 around.

1:07:17 >> Let's hear it for the Texas Tailgator in

1:07:20 two.

1:07:25 Heck of a boogie

1:07:27 from the tailgator and the twost

1:07:29 steppers as we go to the bottom of the

1:07:31 fifth inning. Tailgator up two-nil here

1:07:35 in Navasota, Texas.

1:07:38 And Bunker Field, the smallest venue in

1:07:42 Banana Ball history. It takes the cake

1:07:45 from Golden Park before it was renovated

1:07:48 in Columbus, Georgia. And then how about

1:07:50 Franklin Field out in Wisconsin, Jackie

1:07:52 Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach, and

1:07:54 Campanelli Stadium, Brockton,

1:07:56 Massachusetts. All below 5,000 fans. A

1:07:59 lot of classics from the 2022 and 2023

1:08:02 World Tours. Some of these spots have

1:08:05 some pretty historic banana ball moments

1:08:07 happening in them. You think about

1:08:09 Dakota Stiltsaw Britain's

1:08:10 accomplishments in Columbus. Megan Wolf

1:08:13 pitching in that game. Reese Hampton's

1:08:15 home run in Showdowns in Brockton,

1:08:17 Massachusetts. And now hopefully we'll

1:08:19 see some kind of history tonight here in

1:08:22 Bunker Field as that LC pitch will get

1:08:24 away from Bill Laoy. And it was an

1:08:27 opportunity for Kmart to swipe first,

1:08:29 but opts to stay in the box. And hey, if

1:08:31 I had five home runs in the month of

1:08:34 April, I'd still be in the left-handed

1:08:35 batters box, too.

1:08:36 >> Kmart's going to tell you he's up he's

1:08:38 not up there to still first. He's up

1:08:39 there to hit. He's never going to try

1:08:41 and attempt to steal first.

1:08:44 And that doesn't even include the two

1:08:45 home runs he hit across three games in

1:08:48 the banana ball open.

1:08:50 >> That's seven homers in the Mley.

1:08:55 >> Two- two from LC

1:08:57 and stroked into right center field. A

1:09:00 measly single. Just one total base for

1:09:03 the mighty Kyle Martin. And if you're

1:09:06 the bananas, I honestly think you take

1:09:07 it. You know, when you look at Cal

1:09:10 Martin and specifically this guy also

1:09:11 coming up to bat and Jordan Bart, I

1:09:13 don't think it's a coincidence that two

1:09:15 of your most pro tenure bats you got in

1:09:16 the first year draft are starting to

1:09:18 come around now at the end of April. We

1:09:19 talked about Kmart, seven home runs,

1:09:21 just had another hit there. Eight hits

1:09:22 in this guy's last four games, including

1:09:24 tonight and Jordan Bar. These guys are

1:09:26 starting to come around. That pro

1:09:27 experience starting to rise to the top

1:09:29 here for the tailgator.

1:09:30 >> Yeah, we saw Bar named player of the

1:09:32 week last weekend. Seven for 11, a home

1:09:34 run, four runs batted in. Very

1:09:37 impressive to see his bat continue to

1:09:38 stay hot even after that banana ball

1:09:40 open as off and running is Martin. And

1:09:45 he is going to be in safely according to

1:09:48 Reggie Ligins.

1:09:50 >> First stolen base attempt of his banana

1:09:53 ball career. And what a slide. Wow.

1:09:57 >> He he avoided the tag.

1:10:00 >> How did he do that?

1:10:02 >> He like reverse matrixed that. That was

1:10:06 unbelievable.

1:10:10 >> That's just a veteran move right there.

1:10:11 And that's going to be a walk-off ball

1:10:12 four sprint from Jordan Bar. His fifth

1:10:16 inning ender of the year. Ties them for

1:10:18 the tour lead. And it is all tailgator 3

1:10:22 nothing through five.

1:10:23 >> Pro experience continues to do what it

1:10:25 does. Jordan Bart stays hot. Kyle Martin

1:10:27 stays hot. And how about that? The first

1:10:30 non-double steal where Kmart just goes

1:10:32 off by himself. That first kind of

1:10:34 stolen base in banana ball turns into a

1:10:36 run in the third point of the ball game

1:10:38 for the Texas Tailgator.

1:10:43 >> Well, Kmart

1:10:45 >> with the walk-off home run to win the

1:10:47 first inning and then a single and a

1:10:49 stolen base to help Jordan Bar walk off

1:10:52 the fifth.

1:10:55 >> Kyle Martin doing it with the bat, doing

1:10:57 it with the wheels.

1:11:02 >> It's insane. in the addition not only

1:11:03 what he's brought to the lineup with six

1:11:06 home runs now producing another inning

1:11:09 winning run right there is still in the

1:11:11 base and coming home to score but what

1:11:13 he's meant to this locker room as a

1:11:14 leader into this lineup specifically

1:11:17 Kmart has brought in been that veteran

1:11:19 presence as Chris Clark has for the

1:11:20 pitching staff who's done that when it

1:11:22 comes to trick plays it's none other

1:11:24 than the captain the Texas kid Jordan

1:11:26 Hussein Fiverr what what how are you

1:11:29 tonight my friend

1:11:30 >> I am blessed y'all This is the coolest

1:11:33 thing I've ever done in my life. And

1:11:34 this is the smallest banana ball game

1:11:36 I've ever played in. This is awesome,

1:11:38 boys.

1:11:38 >> Now, when you played at Northshore in

1:11:41 Houston, Texas, was this bigger, smaller

1:11:44 than Navasota High School?

1:11:45 >> Uh, yeah. Northshore was a pretty big

1:11:47 high school known for uh mainly

1:11:49 football, but we had a good little

1:11:50 baseball run while I was there. So, this

1:11:52 is really cool to be here.

1:11:53 >> Jordan, you've now felt the atmospheres

1:11:55 in Florida State in Chapel Hill. What is

1:11:58 it like beating off of a crowd energy of

1:12:01 just a thousand people here tonight?

1:12:03 >> Not only a thousand people, Josh, this

1:12:05 is a thousand Texans. So, this is uh

1:12:07 really cool. Thousand sections is a lot

1:12:10 different than a thousand other people.

1:12:11 So, I'll take this any day of the week,

1:12:13 boys.

1:12:14 >> Your counterpart leading it off, Ryan

1:12:16 Cox, takes the back door bender in there

1:12:19 for strike one. Dr. on deck. Alexi in

1:12:21 the hole. How much fun is it playing

1:12:23 defense behind Brett Sanchez? This dude

1:12:26 uh this dude is not only entertaining,

1:12:27 but he keeps the ball in the strike zone

1:12:29 and he keeps the ball in the yard, which

1:12:31 is what I like. Uh this dude's fun to

1:12:33 play with. He's one of one. That's all I

1:12:35 can say about Sanchez. He's one of one.

1:12:38 >> He can't believe he didn't get the

1:12:39 strike call there. Neither can Taj

1:12:41 Porter.

1:12:43 >> Oh man.

1:12:44 >> Yeah, that was a pretty good looking

1:12:45 pitch as well. Ryan Cox will earn the

1:12:47 ball for sprint.

1:12:50 >> Tailgator's best friend. 643. Watch

1:12:53 this, boys. I need a I need a uh triple

1:12:56 trick play double play here. Fiverr.

1:12:59 >> All right, give and go. Give and go.

1:13:00 Let's do it. Come on.

1:13:02 >> Oh my gosh. There is some kind of giant

1:13:04 bug that it just landed on my scorecard.

1:13:08 >> Oh, get in there.

1:13:11 >> Yeah, he did.

1:13:13 >> Nice diving catch. Indiana Stanley.

1:13:16 >> Hey, boy.

1:13:18 >> Jordan, since that guy's came back, how

1:13:19 good has Indie been out there in center

1:13:21 field? This is no disrespect to any

1:13:23 other outfield in this league, but

1:13:24 losing somebody like him is tough

1:13:26 because he's just different. Um, he's a

1:13:28 true center fielder in my opinion and I

1:13:30 think in a lot of people's opinion. He's

1:13:31 a legit center fielder.

1:13:38 >> Taj and Justice coming together.

1:13:41 >> Porter will grab it and get rid of Reese

1:13:44 Selectiatus.

1:13:47 >> Oh, the bug's on me, guys. The bugs on

1:13:49 me.

1:13:51 Like I said, Sanchez fills it up, boys.

1:13:53 He's doing it. Uh, every single weekend

1:13:54 he's done it. So,

1:13:56 >> Jordan, I wish you were in the booth

1:13:58 with us. You could tell me what the heck

1:14:00 this thing is crawling on my fingers.

1:14:01 >> Uh oh. What you boys got in there.

1:14:03 >> It's flying away.

1:14:04 >> It's a big one. I mean, it's probably

1:14:05 bigger than your shoe you got on there.

1:14:07 Fiverr,

1:14:07 >> you boys might have a cicada in that in

1:14:09 that press box with you boys.

1:14:11 >> It wasn't making no noise.

1:14:13 >> Okay. All right.

1:14:13 >> You know, I know them things are squeaky

1:14:15 like you. I It wasn't making no noise in

1:14:17 there, Fiverr.

1:14:20 Oh, now you're known for hunting pretty

1:14:23 much anything that moves, Jordan. But

1:14:25 that's about an hour south of us in the

1:14:26 Houston area. They got gators up here in

1:14:28 >> Oh, yeah. Gator all over the southeast

1:14:31 region of Texas down here. There's

1:14:32 gators everywhere.

1:14:34 >> So, I know who to call if I see one.

1:14:36 >> Uh, yeah. Call me. I got you. I got you.

1:14:39 Don't worry,

1:14:40 >> Jordan. If we get a strike out here, I

1:14:41 need a thank you silly out of you, too.

1:14:42 >> You know what? I got it. I got it.

1:14:47 >> Oh, bro. Oh my gosh, he just got hit in

1:14:49 the generator.

1:14:51 >> Oh man, the Nether region as we call it

1:14:54 in the business.

1:14:56 Gosh, that's one of the crazier things

1:14:58 I've ever seen happen on a baseball

1:15:00 field.

1:15:04 >> Hope Brett Sanchez is okay here. That is

1:15:07 not comfortable. And you can see the

1:15:09 amount of bat that Jonathan Lutters has

1:15:11 collected. I mean, that was the vast

1:15:12 majority

1:15:15 >> of MJG's weapon.

1:15:21 Athletic trainer Brian Choperay out to

1:15:24 check on Sanchez who has been masterful

1:15:26 across five and two/3 scoreless frames

1:15:28 so far tonight.

1:15:34 >> Yeah, and Sanche did his best to avoid

1:15:36 that. Matt just caught him right there

1:15:38 in the midsection.

1:15:45 >> Jordan just asked him if his watch is

1:15:48 okay and he laughed. So, I think we're

1:15:49 good here.

1:15:50 >> Good. Thank you. This is

1:15:53 >> Boy, am I thankful to have a reporter

1:15:54 down on the field for this.

1:15:56 >> Yeah, guys, reporting live. Rick Sanchez

1:15:58 is all right. And uh he's still the best

1:16:00 pitcher in Banana Ball. So, let's rock.

1:16:02 >> Let's rock.

1:16:02 >> Thank you for your service, Jordan.

1:16:04 >> Let's rock.

1:16:05 >> Hey, I tell you what, if he gets a

1:16:07 strike out here now, Fiverr, after that

1:16:09 Oh, yeah. He took it right off the bait.

1:16:12 Goods Jordan. We just had a replay here

1:16:13 in the booth. He took it right right

1:16:16 where you don't want to get hit.

1:16:17 >> Come on.

1:16:18 >> The kids did that to me in high school,

1:16:20 too.

1:16:26 >> You're good, Brucey. You're good,

1:16:28 Brucey.

1:16:29 >> You can still see it in his eyes.

1:16:33 >> Cox leads off first. Another two- two to

1:16:35 Young Goldberg.

1:16:38 >> Jordan behind the back. You

1:16:40 >> did I catch it?

1:16:41 >> You sure did.

1:16:42 >> I got it. Give it to me, J5. Book it.

1:16:48 >> Hey,

1:16:50 >> Fiverr. Thank you so much, my friend.

1:16:52 >> I love you, boys. God bless Texas.

1:16:54 >> Love you, too.

1:16:55 >> Thank you, Jordan. Amen.

1:16:57 >> Love you, Jordan.

1:16:59 >> And old

1:17:02 and so, yes, we've got three couples

1:17:04 here. They all been married different

1:17:05 amounts of time. And Vince, you're going

1:17:06 to be the judge on who does it best.

1:17:20 Prince, the fourth largest college

1:17:23 football stadium in the entire country.

1:17:26 This is going to be a scene unlike any

1:17:29 scene before.

1:17:30 >> I mean, it's an SEC environment. They're

1:17:32 known for the 12th man. They practice

1:17:35 their yells before football games. This

1:17:38 place is going to give us an atmosphere

1:17:40 like we have never seen before in Banana

1:17:43 Ball. And one of the things I'm the most

1:17:45 excited for, even funkier dimensions. It

1:17:48 will be just 185 ft to that left field

1:17:52 foul pole. It's the shortest short porch

1:17:55 in Banana Balls history. And taking a

1:17:57 look back at the largest crowds our

1:18:00 young sport has been played in front of

1:18:02 so far. Of course, Clemson back on April

1:18:05 26th of last year. that is the current

1:18:07 record holder with 81,000 fans. And it's

1:18:10 the football stadiums, of course,

1:18:11 Charlotte, Tampa, and Nashville, all

1:18:13 north of 69,000 fans. They have all been

1:18:16 unbelievable environments.

1:18:17 >> And I know we've already said it a few

1:18:18 times, but I I don't think we can

1:18:20 reiterate enough how cool it is for

1:18:22 Banana Ball. Within 48 hours, you're

1:18:24 playing in the smallest venue of all

1:18:25 time, and then Saturday night, you're

1:18:28 playing in the largest venue of all

1:18:30 time. Just such the duality of man. And

1:18:32 this a new pitcher in the ball game,

1:18:34 Frankie Moscatello. Look at that erra

1:18:38 boys for Frankie this year. 159 Joshi.

1:18:41 He has been money in another late round

1:18:43 steel for Tyler Gillum and that staff.

1:18:46 >> Yeah, and he's starting to turn a corner

1:18:48 as well. We saw him pitching in Yankee

1:18:49 Stadium and working a lot quicker on the

1:18:52 mound. Now, he didn't flash the

1:18:53 strikeout stuff we've seen in the early

1:18:56 parts of this season, but sometimes to

1:18:58 work quickly, you're not necessarily

1:19:00 gunning for strikeouts. and Frankie able

1:19:02 to get some soft contact and the party

1:19:05 animals able to score an unearned run

1:19:08 off of Moscatello mostly thanks to Reese

1:19:11 Hampton and his wheels around the bases.

1:19:14 Really cool. We get to see Jos Gutierrez

1:19:18 take his first plate appearance against

1:19:19 the Savannah Bananas. He's been swinging

1:19:21 it, getting in there just about every

1:19:23 ball game the last weekend.

1:19:24 >> Yeah. Went one for three across three

1:19:26 ABS, one each night in Amarillo. had his

1:19:29 first career hit, a double in his first

1:19:31 ever banana ball played appearance and

1:19:33 now returns back closer and closer to

1:19:36 where he grew up at in Arlington, Texas.

1:19:38 Actually grew up playing travel ball

1:19:40 with Shadore and Shiloh Sanders as

1:19:42 Prime, Coach Prime, is his travel ball

1:19:44 coach in Arlington area.

1:19:46 >> Goes down swinging on that highowered

1:19:48 fast ball from Gazoo.

1:19:52 Frankie Moscatello. It is easy velocity

1:19:56 from the 58 righty. Yeah, you see him

1:19:59 put every bit of his body behind these

1:20:01 banana balls. Got one of the better fast

1:20:04 balls in this sport. He's always said

1:20:06 that I throw a very heavy ball. And you

1:20:09 see Jason Art, another pinch hitter late

1:20:12 on the heaters from Frankie Strikeouts.

1:20:18 Nothing but gas so far from the kid out

1:20:20 of Rocky Point, New York. as you get a

1:20:23 look at the numbers for Aren

1:20:26 235 so far here in his second tour

1:20:30 and the fast ball misses wide. That's

1:20:31 about a 92 to 96 mph heater.

1:20:35 >> He's got the curve ball and splitter in

1:20:37 his back pocket as well.

1:20:40 Nothing but fast balls and nothing but

1:20:43 strikeouts so far for Moscatello.

1:20:46 >> That's dirty, man. Goes up, up, up. was

1:20:49 over halfway to an immaculate inning

1:20:51 before Jason fouled off that O2 pitch

1:20:53 and then just buries one right at the

1:20:55 knees. Talk about change in eyesight.

1:20:57 Wow, that is sweet stuff from Frankie

1:21:01 >> M. Danford watches the fast ball come in

1:21:03 high. I mean, this is the guy the

1:21:05 Bananas thought they drafted when they

1:21:06 grabbed him in the sixth round last

1:21:08 November.

1:21:11 >> Over eight years of professional

1:21:12 baseball experience, over 500 career

1:21:15 strikeouts in professional baseball.

1:21:20 and the 2023 Frontier League pitcher of

1:21:23 the year when he was up in Quebec.

1:21:27 >> Two-1 to Big Mac. Another fast ball.

1:21:31 Another swing and a miss.

1:21:37 >> The 2-2

1:21:39 swing and a miss. Frankie Moscatello

1:21:42 strikes out the side on nothing but

1:21:45 straight cheese.

1:21:47 15 pitches from Frankie strikeouts,

1:21:51 three Ks, and it's all done in 2 minutes

1:21:54 and 31 seconds. This guy is settling in

1:21:58 nicely to Banana Ball. That's some great

1:22:00 A beef right there. Let's get it down

1:22:02 for some farm to table.

1:22:05 >> And they're going to go wee we we racing

1:22:07 all the way home. But to win this race,

1:22:09 there's no finish line. They're going to

1:22:11 have to climb up a ladder and jump

1:22:13 through a table.

1:22:16 Don't worry, they sign the waiver. This

1:22:17 is the farm to table race and it starts

1:22:20 in three, two, one, go.

1:22:24 And they're up. Two twisted tails in the

1:22:27 wind. Snout to snap, neck and neck,

1:22:30 twisted hook. Who's it going to be?

1:22:34 Grab a soda. What do you want for

1:22:35 dinner?

1:22:38 Up the ladder. It's all going to come

1:22:40 down to the table. Who's it going to be?

1:22:43 It's what we do for the price of one.

1:22:46 Farm the table pork. It's what's for

1:22:49 dinner.

1:22:59 >> Straight from the farm right to the

1:23:01 table

1:23:02 >> and breaking through that table. Take me

1:23:05 through there. Take me through there.

1:23:08 Oh my gosh.

1:23:11 >> So, wow. The man on the left just hurt

1:23:14 that elbow.

1:23:17 >> Give it back.

1:23:18 >> Hey. Hey, dude. Give me the ball.

1:23:22 >> Give me the ball. Give me the alligator.

1:23:24 >> Give me the ball.

1:23:25 >> Hey.

1:23:26 >> Oh my gosh.

1:23:28 >> You've got one eye.

1:23:31 >> Chubs.

1:23:31 >> Chubs.

1:23:34 >> You took his hand.

1:23:35 >> Hey, come here. Come here.

1:23:38 >> Yeah. Get some of this.

1:23:40 >> Yeah. Get some of this.

1:23:47 >> Yeah.

1:23:51 >> I don't know what's better. The fact

1:23:52 that Danny got the banana ball or Grub

1:23:54 was baldled for a second there.

1:23:58 >> Does that not hurt you to see Grub get

1:24:00 attacked like that? I know. You have a

1:24:02 soft spot for that guy,

1:24:04 >> man. He's like my son, but he shouldn't

1:24:05 have took the banana ball away.

1:24:07 >> Rookie mistake.

1:24:07 >> What are we doing? Brett Allen now in

1:24:10 the pitch here with Nigel the crocodile

1:24:12 on his bill wrestling the banana ball

1:24:14 away from Grub the Gator and Donnie he

1:24:17 tells you all the time you can see it

1:24:18 there on the stats the strike out the

1:24:20 ball four sprints lead to the RA there

1:24:22 in the bottom number Donnie feels like

1:24:24 his stuff is as good as anybody's when

1:24:25 he's in the zone the biggest issue this

1:24:27 year has been 12 ball four sprints one

1:24:29 of seven pitchers in the sport to have

1:24:31 double digit ball four sprints already

1:24:33 he's got to get in the zone and he's

1:24:35 confident if he does nobody's going to

1:24:37 be able to hit him

1:24:38 >> and we saw Last Saturday when Brett

1:24:39 Allen took the mound against the Loco

1:24:41 Beach Coconuts, it was more erratic

1:24:43 stuff. Had a wild pitch and two ball

1:24:45 four sprints in that outing. Led to more

1:24:47 runs being scored against him. So just

1:24:50 trying to figure it out mechanically as

1:24:53 Grub lies there writhing in pain,

1:24:55 watching on.

1:24:58 >> You think Grub should try to grow some

1:24:59 hair on the top of his head?

1:25:00 >> I'm really thinking,

1:25:02 >> is it possible? I don't think alligators

1:25:04 can do that. I'd love to see Grub get

1:25:07 like a drop fade or something.

1:25:09 >> You got to get on some of that uh you

1:25:10 know some of the players have that hair

1:25:12 growth stuff that they're taking. He

1:25:14 could probably get it from a good

1:25:15 source.

1:25:16 >> I'm not here to name names.

1:25:18 >> Ryan Kellog. It all started with Ryan

1:25:21 Kellog.

1:25:23 >> There's a lot lot of guys on.

1:25:24 >> Some guys are here to name names.

1:25:28 >> 02 from Allen to Oburst.

1:25:32 I mean, this should be as uncomfortable

1:25:34 as a plate appearance for a righty in

1:25:36 the sport. And when Brett Allen's on, it

1:25:38 will be

1:25:40 >> as Ober is down swinging. Gnarly bender

1:25:43 there from Donnie.

1:25:46 >> Big time K from the W from down under.

1:25:49 Strikes out perhaps one of the hottest

1:25:52 bats, if not the hottest bat in the

1:25:53 sport right now in Dan Oburst. And then

1:25:56 gives him a bow after out number one.

1:25:57 >> Timing just a little bit off there from

1:25:59 Dan Oburst. And this is what you want to

1:26:02 see from Brett Allen. A guy pounding the

1:26:04 zone. Three of those first four pitches.

1:26:06 Strikes for Donnie. But falling behind

1:26:09 Kyle Jackson 10.

1:26:13 >> Gets right back in it with the change

1:26:14 up. He's got fast ball slider change.

1:26:21 >> Peter about 85 to 91 as he gets a jam

1:26:25 shot from KJ into the seats.

1:26:28 >> Not caught by the fans. There was an

1:26:30 interesting note we gave a few weekends

1:26:32 back at UNCC about Conor Harris starting

1:26:33 to work back out of the windup again.

1:26:35 Same thing for Brad Allen. He worked out

1:26:37 of the stretch a lot as a visitor when

1:26:40 he kind of had struggled and fallen out

1:26:42 of the zone. He was working out of the

1:26:43 stretch. Now here tonight you're seeing

1:26:44 him work back out of the windown.

1:26:47 >> One, two, pistol squat

1:26:51 swing and a miss off speed and another K

1:26:55 from Brett Allen.

1:26:57 And a trick play as well for Donnie. I

1:27:00 mean, this guy looking really sharp

1:27:03 tonight at Navasota High School. And

1:27:07 >> Allen here

1:27:10 with some special stuff in the stands.

1:27:16 Now coming from the crowd,

1:27:20 >> a nine-year banana, the team captain,

1:27:23 the trickiest catcher in the world,

1:27:24 myself, Philar.

1:27:29 >> Can I tell y'all a secret between me,

1:27:30 y'all, and God?

1:27:31 >> Yes.

1:27:32 >> I love it every time he does that.

1:27:34 >> That's an oldie but a goodie.

1:27:35 >> I know I'm not supposed to. I know I'm

1:27:37 not I know I'm supposed to be all

1:27:39 tailgators and all that. I absolutely

1:27:41 love when the captain, Billy, introduces

1:27:43 himself to the

1:27:45 One for two, a strike out and a single

1:27:47 tonight

1:27:48 >> as the Heater just misses the low

1:27:50 outside corner.

1:27:56 >> This is Brett Allen's eighth appearance

1:27:58 this year. He's trying to have his first

1:28:00 outing without allowing a ball for

1:28:02 spring.

1:28:06 >> Barrel from Bill Loy deep out to left

1:28:09 center

1:28:10 and it's out of here.

1:28:14 Bombs away for Billy Barrels.

1:28:19 >> Second long ball of the year for Laroy.

1:28:23 >> And we know this guy hits so well

1:28:26 against the secondary teams, I should

1:28:29 say, of Banana Ball. You know, he killed

1:28:31 the firefighters all last season. Now

1:28:34 facing off against the Texas Tailgator

1:28:36 this year. Bill has been an absolute

1:28:38 machine. We saw him hit a home run off

1:28:40 Matthew Fletcher in game two of the

1:28:42 Open. Now he touches up Donnie Allen

1:28:45 here in the seventh. And at long last in

1:28:48 inning number seven, the Bananas have

1:28:51 their first run of the night. And Bill

1:28:53 goes right back into those seats to

1:28:56 celebrate with the fans.

1:28:59 Man of the people as the slider. Wow,

1:29:02 that looked like a good pitch. Does not

1:29:04 catch the inside corner according to

1:29:06 Vincent Chapman. So a 10 count on

1:29:09 Jackson Olsen

1:29:12 and that one

1:29:14 past the dive of Hussein.

1:29:18 >> Jackie a base hit and a board for the

1:29:20 second time tonight.

1:29:21 >> Now where I grew up in the turf fields

1:29:23 we played on, we call this a carpet

1:29:25 beater. You know why? You take a little

1:29:26 hop right there on that carpet. This

1:29:29 turf just right over the glove of Jordan

1:29:31 Hussein. Good piece of hitting there

1:29:32 from Jackson Olsson.

1:29:35 Robert Anthony Cruz ahead a ball in no

1:29:37 strikes. The Bananas have scored their

1:29:39 first run of the ball game. Looking for

1:29:41 more here with two outs still.

1:29:46 >> Raka single his last time ahead two

1:29:49 and0.

1:30:01 >> And a three count on Cruz.

1:30:13 Fast ball misses up

1:30:16 >> and there is that ball for Sprint.

1:30:19 >> Great defense by the Tailgator.

1:30:22 Keep Cruz to one base and stop Olsson

1:30:25 from scoring from first. And you see

1:30:27 exactly why he was going back to the

1:30:29 windup like Brett mentioned earlier. The

1:30:32 minute Brett Allen has to throw into the

1:30:34 stretch each of his first four pitches,

1:30:36 he cannot locate in that strike zone.

1:30:39 And he'll have to try and pound the zone

1:30:41 here against Danny Hosley. Up for his

1:30:44 second at bat tonight.

1:30:47 Slatter for strike one. Hosley was pinch

1:30:49 hit for by Eastston Parish's last time.

1:30:51 Struck out his lone trip to the dish.

1:30:57 And this one hit right into the ground.

1:30:59 Fielded between the legs. Jordan Bar,

1:31:01 another trick play as Allen strands him

1:31:04 on the corners, but Bill Loy the solo

1:31:06 home run, finally giving the Bananas a

1:31:08 chance at a point.

1:31:09 >> Yeah, bucket. That's a big time bucket

1:31:11 there to put the Tailgators ahead 12 to

1:31:13 five in trick plays here this evening.

1:31:15 Speaking of trick plays, let's look at

1:31:17 them here tonight. Again, it was

1:31:19 sunshine galore. I mean, had seven

1:31:22 different touches on the legs and what

1:31:24 could be a candidate in the most

1:31:25 entertaining trick play of the year.

1:31:27 Trick pit strikeout from Brett Sanchez

1:31:29 there. What an outing from him. Indie

1:31:31 with the most casual behind the back

1:31:33 catch you may just ever seen. Ziggy

1:31:35 trying to protect the baked goods there

1:31:37 in an inning where the Bananas had four

1:31:39 trick plays. Excuse me. Five trick

1:31:41 plays.

1:31:42 >> Every single one of them on the night.

1:31:43 >> Yeah. All five of the trick plays came

1:31:44 in one inning. And this was a special

1:31:46 one. A double trick play. A lot of

1:31:48 double trick plays tonight from the

1:31:49 Texas Tailgator. What an interesting

1:31:51 trickery game we've seen here at

1:31:52 Navasota High School.

1:31:53 >> The Bananas with that five trick play.

1:31:56 Bottom of the third inning went up 53 in

1:31:58 trick plays since then. Nine straight

1:32:00 trick plays from the Tailgator without

1:32:02 an answer from the Bananas defense.

1:32:03 >> And again, the most impressive thing

1:32:05 about tonight's contest and that trick

1:32:08 play output. You see the push the Gators

1:32:11 are making to collect trick pitch

1:32:12 strikeouts. And you also see the fly

1:32:16 balls, the popups that these Texas

1:32:18 tailgators are getting. They're taking

1:32:20 advantage of them. Not many ground balls

1:32:22 tonight. Nonetheless, they've got

1:32:24 double-digit trick plays.

1:32:25 >> Yeah. Sorry. Sorry about that, Josh.

1:32:27 Brett and I saw you ourselves on camera.

1:32:29 It's like,

1:32:29 >> yeah,

1:32:30 >> it's pretty rare for us.

1:32:31 >> My mama said, "I got to wave to her

1:32:33 anytime that ever happened." So,

1:32:34 apparently your mama told you the same

1:32:36 thing, Bo.

1:32:36 >> Taking a look at the numbers from the

1:32:39 Bananas fourth round draft pick this

1:32:41 past fall. Grant Besser started redot

1:32:44 much like Tristan Lec has run into a

1:32:46 little bit of trouble the last few

1:32:47 outings.

1:32:48 >> Yeah, and it's been the long ball that's

1:32:50 hurt Grant Besser more than anything,

1:32:52 especially in football stadiums.

1:32:55 Balls carried well tonight for the Texas

1:32:57 Tailgator, but Savannah Bananas have the

1:33:00 best hold success rate of any team in

1:33:03 Banana Ball this season. And they are

1:33:06 trying to get that to stand up yet again

1:33:09 as 78.3%

1:33:11 of the time they have been successful

1:33:13 holding the leads in innings playing as

1:33:15 the visiting squad. The ninth inning in

1:33:18 game two at UNCC I thought was a turning

1:33:20 point for both the Tailgator and for

1:33:23 Grant Besser's seasons. Two home runs in

1:33:25 that ninth inning by Jose Brother

1:33:27 Gonzalez and Kyle Martin still lost the

1:33:29 ball game but then the Tailgators go on

1:33:30 to win three straight in the open and

1:33:32 then kind of a turning point and not a

1:33:34 most positive way for Grant Besser since

1:33:36 then as well. So look at that. A pivotal

1:33:38 moment Grant time for him to try and get

1:33:40 his get back against the Tailgators.

1:33:42 shanked foul. Still a two- two count on

1:33:45 the switch hitting catcher Taj Porter.

1:33:49 Bottom three in the order for the

1:33:50 Tailgator here in the last of the seven.

1:33:54 Porter, Stanley, and Hussein as that one

1:33:56 misses and the count runs full

1:33:59 on the man out of Mandeville, Louisiana.

1:34:04 Lofted out to left center. Alexi can't

1:34:07 make the diving catch.

1:34:10 Porter is going to rumble into second

1:34:13 and tap the brakes there.

1:34:16 >> The biggest, the largest, puts one out

1:34:19 there in the gap and gets a leadoff

1:34:20 double. And when you need a run to push

1:34:23 and two of them to earn your fourth

1:34:25 point of the ball game, a leadoff double

1:34:27 does wonders here for this lineup as

1:34:29 Jacob Pipperick is going to come in and

1:34:30 run at second.

1:34:32 >> KJ got that one in foul territory. So

1:34:34 Indie, who would have had an infield

1:34:36 single if it stayed fair, will be behind

1:34:39 01 in the count.

1:34:40 >> Fun note about Jacob Peppers. Tuggetters

1:34:42 have stolen 14 bases this year. Have yet

1:34:44 to be caught stealing as a group. Pip

1:34:46 has stolen six of those 14 bases. He has

1:34:49 been an absolute godsend since he was

1:34:52 picked up mid-season.

1:34:53 >> He has made this team significantly

1:34:55 better, that's for sure. Great guy in

1:34:57 the locker room as well with these guys.

1:34:59 They've really enjoyed his presence. And

1:35:01 I've heard tailgator saying he should be

1:35:04 more than a designated runner with all

1:35:06 of his talents.

1:35:07 >> Well, you know, his first ever banana

1:35:08 ball played appearance, he had a

1:35:09 walk-off RBI double and that came back

1:35:12 in game two in Sacramento.

1:35:14 >> Indie is plunked and not thrilled about

1:35:18 it.

1:35:21 >> I think that's one of those with Indie.

1:35:23 It's been a rough night already.

1:35:25 Battling up there at the dish and then

1:35:27 you get stuck with a fast ball right

1:35:29 right there above the rib cage and you

1:35:32 can see him say that hurt. Maybe maybe

1:35:34 another word was added in there but I

1:35:35 don't think so.

1:35:36 >> I think that was it.

1:35:37 >> That hurt and you could tell it did.

1:35:39 >> Professional lip readers I've got them

1:35:41 in my ear. They said yeah you said that

1:35:42 hurt. That's it.

1:35:46 >> So now Jordan Hussein gets a low strike

1:35:48 on him.

1:35:50 Inning tying run on second. inning

1:35:52 winning run on first. An 02 count on the

1:35:56 Gator captain.

1:36:02 >> Single back in the fourth inning for

1:36:04 Hussein. Down swinging on the change up

1:36:07 from Besser. That is a big first out.

1:36:09 >> Number

1:36:17 downright disgusting.

1:36:19 So to the top of the order we go. Slider

1:36:21 misses below the knees to Nick Lopez who

1:36:24 turns around to hit from the right side.

1:36:34 Back door bender just misses

1:36:38 and a three- 0 count.

1:36:43 Fast ball called. Strike. Safe harbor

1:36:45 roll in place. So Lopez gets to go back

1:36:49 to the Bucks and swiping third was

1:36:51 Pipperick. So the

1:36:54 inning tying run is now 90 ft closer.

1:36:56 >> Now he's a perfect eight for eight in

1:36:58 stolen bases this year as Jacob

1:37:00 Pipperick.

1:37:04 >> Slow chopper. Besser is going to come

1:37:06 home with it. Tag in time. Heck of a

1:37:10 play by Gaby.

1:37:12 It saves the frame for now for the

1:37:14 Bananas. And Pipperick running well. He

1:37:18 wants the challenge from Joe Miklick.

1:37:21 But that was really nice play in the

1:37:23 moment. Besser not rushing himself to

1:37:26 try and get that ball to Bill Loy.

1:37:28 Instead, it's a clean feed and Pipperick

1:37:32 will get a challenge from the fans here

1:37:35 in the bottom of the seventh.

1:37:37 So Michelick and company don't even have

1:37:39 to challenge the play. The fans do it

1:37:43 for them. You need clear evidence that

1:37:46 Pipper sick got the hand in before the

1:37:48 tag.

1:37:49 >> Can't really tell where the tag is right

1:37:50 here. Bo,

1:37:51 >> you cannot

1:37:54 >> see the ball getting in. I mean, the

1:37:55 ball definitely beat him, though.

1:38:01 >> Still can't really tell. I mean, it

1:38:03 looks like Bill might have trapped the

1:38:04 ball, but you still have inconclusive

1:38:06 evidence here.

1:38:06 >> Correct.

1:38:10 >> Is there another angle that we may have

1:38:12 that we Oh, let's see. There it is.

1:38:15 Okay, now we're seeing something.

1:38:29 >> You just can't tell when you can't tell

1:38:31 when the tag is placed on Pip.

1:38:33 >> You can't see Bill's glove. I mean, as

1:38:36 it would appear from here, looks like

1:38:38 he's safe, but it's inconclusive.

1:38:39 >> I agree. I completely agree on both

1:38:41 fronts.

1:38:43 because it doesn't look like Bill gets

1:38:44 him until he gets his leg. But again,

1:38:46 you just cannot see because of the back

1:38:49 of Jacob Pepperick there.

1:38:51 >> Yeah, it's one of those you wish we

1:38:52 could have all three shots timed exactly

1:38:54 the same and watch them all at the same

1:38:56 time.

1:39:07 >> Umpire's taking a long look at this.

1:39:09 >> Maybe you can see something right there.

1:39:12 Not this. Not the one we were just

1:39:13 looking at. I I was thinking frame by

1:39:15 frame until Bill's glove goes out of

1:39:17 frame. Does Pip's hand hit home plate?

1:39:21 If we go frame by frame here. Nope. Cuz

1:39:24 as soon as his hands on home plate,

1:39:26 Bill's mitt goes out of frame,

1:39:27 >> right?

1:39:32 >> I mean, in my opinion, the safest

1:39:34 decision is just to uphold the call on

1:39:36 the field. Again, I'm I'm not seeing any

1:39:38 kind of conclusive evidence.

1:39:40 >> I agree. The ruling on the field is

1:39:44 >> wow

1:39:46 overturned. Runner is safe.

1:39:50 >> So, it was Reggie Ligins and Seth

1:39:51 Markham who were looking at it and they

1:39:53 saw enough between those angles

1:39:56 >> to say there's conclusive evidence.

1:39:58 Jacob Pipper snuck his hand in there

1:40:00 before the tag from Loy.

1:40:01 >> Takes an out off the board and adds a

1:40:04 run in this inning. So now Wadi has a

1:40:06 perfect opportunity to walk it off here

1:40:08 for the Tailgator.

1:40:09 >> Deep to right and tracking it down is Ty

1:40:13 Jackson.

1:40:17 >> Inning winning run advances to third.

1:40:23 >> And the former Indiana Stanley

1:40:26 >> and the fate of the frame in the very

1:40:29 capable hands of Kyle Martin.

1:40:32 I mean, nobody you would rather have up

1:40:34 here if you're a Texas Tailgator fan.

1:40:37 >> To that point, Boen batter five times

1:40:39 this year, tied for the league lead

1:40:41 coming into the night. Don't even have

1:40:42 to use the gold robe and goat helmet on

1:40:44 him here.

1:40:46 >> Quick 20 count.

1:40:49 >> Also second in the league in all four

1:40:51 sprints with 12 of them this year.

1:40:54 And he chases Besser fooled him on the

1:40:57 slider

1:41:01 right back to it. Bouncer through the

1:41:03 right side. Kmart

1:41:06 with his third walk-off of the year and

1:41:08 it is four nothing Gator.

1:41:10 >> How about this? In three of the four

1:41:12 points that the Texas Tailgator have

1:41:14 scored tonight. Kmart has walked off to

1:41:17 him at the dish and then scored the

1:41:19 inning winning run on the the other one.

1:41:21 I mean, three of the four points Kmart

1:41:23 has had such a big impact on tonight.

1:41:25 Four to nothing. The good guys lead it.

1:41:30 >> That is some crazy

1:41:33 >> sheet. And I'm glad that you're saying

1:41:34 that because it's time, ladies and

1:41:36 gentlemen, for the world famous sheet

1:41:38 race. We've got the yellow sheet, the

1:41:40 blue sheet, the orange sheet, and the

1:41:41 brown sheet. They've got to take

1:41:43 themselves all along the base path and

1:41:44 then they are going to get to the finish

1:41:46 line. The first sheet to get there wins.

1:41:48 Sheet is about to get crazy in three,

1:41:51 two, one, go.

1:41:53 >> We've got yellow, blue, orange, and

1:41:55 brown. It's my favorite promotion in the

1:41:58 history of planet Earth. And all four

1:42:00 contestants neck and neck out of the

1:42:03 gate coming around the first bend. It's

1:42:05 a small lead for yellow. Orange in

1:42:07 pursuit. Then brown. Fourth place

1:42:10 currently is blue. Excellent race by

1:42:13 yellow. Comed.

1:42:16 All four limbs inside the sheet. Doing

1:42:18 it with a smile on his face. Coming

1:42:21 around the final turn. Does he have

1:42:23 enough gas in the tank? Orange is

1:42:25 creeping up behind. Orange is making a

1:42:28 push. It's going to be close, but yellow

1:42:30 from start to finish. Pure dominance in

1:42:34 the sheet race. Orange second place.

1:42:36 Brown's third, blue is fourth.

1:42:42 >> Look at that young man. He was coasting

1:42:44 right there. tongue out like Jordan.

1:42:47 >> Little belly flop action like Joe

1:42:50 Filamino

1:42:53 >> and now it's Slim Jim. Mr. Jimmy Lewis

1:42:56 here in his second World Tour taking

1:42:58 over for the top of the eighth inning.

1:42:59 >> If there is a caveat to these numbers

1:43:01 this year, the only scoreless outing and

1:43:04 point earned for Jimmy Lewis came at UNC

1:43:06 against the Savannah Bananas. Again, I

1:43:08 always try to look positivity for Jimbo.

1:43:10 And now hopefully we can see it here

1:43:12 tonight as a standoff pitch to begin

1:43:16 against Ryan Cox.

1:43:19 Look at that height difference.

1:43:23 You got 66

1:43:25 for Jimmy Lewis

1:43:27 and Coxy 6'2

1:43:33 and a ball.

1:43:37 Cox in the 10 hole trying to get

1:43:39 something going.

1:43:40 >> The Bananas were held scoreless for six

1:43:42 innings. Finally push a run across on

1:43:45 the Bill Loy homer in the seventh

1:43:47 >> and the Tailgator bounce back with two

1:43:49 runs of their own.

1:43:54 >> Three out.

1:43:58 >> Wow. Another pretty good looking pitch.

1:44:00 Does not get the call and Cox has his

1:44:02 second sprint of the ball game.

1:44:05 You know, Ryan Cox when he turns around

1:44:08 and is questioning whether he got the

1:44:10 ball for sprint there could speak

1:44:13 volumes, but nonetheless, Bryce Gafi

1:44:15 will come in and run for him at first.

1:44:17 You got the high school crowd right

1:44:19 outside our press box. They are heckling

1:44:21 Jimmy Lewis right now. You're getting

1:44:22 the classic ball five, ball six, and so

1:44:26 on and so forth right now with Slim Jim.

1:44:29 >> Well, Jimmy shut him up. Quick 02 count

1:44:31 here on Ty Jackson

1:44:33 and three straight strikes tie back to

1:44:36 the dugout. Now Jimmy gets to do

1:44:38 whatever the heck that dance was. I

1:44:40 liked it. You know, Jimmy and I have

1:44:42 talked a lot about the mental aspect of

1:44:44 pitching in the offse and he has tapped

1:44:46 back into who he was when he was in high

1:44:49 school at Lake Travis. He was a second

1:44:50 round pick. Had a sub one erra as a

1:44:52 senior. He said I have to tap back into

1:44:54 that mentality. He's trying to do that

1:44:56 here. Able to get a three pitch strike

1:44:57 out against Pooky. Yeah, this is a guy

1:44:59 in Jimmy Lewis. Originally from

1:45:00 Jacksonville, Florida. Spent six years

1:45:03 in Danville, California. Moved to

1:45:05 Austin, Texas at 15 years old and has

1:45:08 called the Lonear State home ever since

1:45:10 as Alexiatis with a base hit right back

1:45:13 up the middle.

1:45:15 >> Good sign there for Super Reese. He was

1:45:17 0 for three. Hadn't lined out his first

1:45:19 time. Goodwood on it, but after going 0

1:45:22 for six last weekend, just feels good to

1:45:24 get off the schneide.

1:45:26 And now two on as Max Young Goldberg

1:45:30 bounces this fair down the first

1:45:31 baseline. A dribble for Taylor Justice

1:45:35 and a Baker's dozen trick plays on the

1:45:38 night now for the tailgator.

1:45:39 >> Bucket. It don't come much easier than

1:45:41 that on turf. Just bounce it off of

1:45:43 there. 13-5 in the trick play battle.

1:45:49 >> Two Nanners in scoring position for Dan

1:45:51 Oburst. 0 for three. Fly out, pop out,

1:45:54 strike out.

1:45:58 And the chopper foul. Quick 02 count on

1:46:02 the Nanners. DH was four for seven with

1:46:05 a home run last weekend in Yankee

1:46:07 Stadium against the Party Animals. The

1:46:08 home run was a big one. Tied game one in

1:46:10 the ninth with one out.

1:46:18 >> You talking about what Dan did at Yankee

1:46:20 Stadium. That's coming off a weekend

1:46:22 where he was the best player in the

1:46:23 Banana Ball Open, even on the losing

1:46:25 team. Had three home runs in the open.

1:46:33 >> Deuce is wild

1:46:36 with two ducks on the pond.

1:46:43 >> Jam shot. No chance for the fans.

1:46:49 Another

1:46:55 two- two

1:46:57 >> count is full. Ball four will drive in

1:47:00 two runs for the bananas.

1:47:02 Trying to cut into this deficit.

1:47:07 >> And we'll get another offering from

1:47:10 Lewis to Obururst.

1:47:15 Danny O here in his eighth year as a

1:47:16 banana. just about as veteran as they

1:47:18 come.

1:47:20 Trying to come through in the clutch.

1:47:24 Heck, good job by Jimmy Lewis. Continues

1:47:25 to pound the zone. And I'll tell you

1:47:27 what, you can tell Dan is dialed when he

1:47:29 is able to fake battles like these

1:47:31 against opposing pitchers. About to see

1:47:34 nine pitches in this plate appearance

1:47:37 between Lewis and Danny Barrels.

1:47:41 Swing and a miss. Jimmy Lewis dials up

1:47:44 the heat and strands a pair in scoring

1:47:46 position.

1:47:47 >> How about that from Jimbo?

1:47:49 >> He's been working on it. He's been

1:47:51 grinding. He knows the stats aren't what

1:47:54 you want to see. But strands two in

1:47:56 scoring position gets his second strike

1:47:58 out against the hardest out in the whole

1:48:00 sport. How now Jimmy?

1:48:02 >> Let's turn this place yellow.

1:48:05 >> And I'd like you all to join us in

1:48:06 singing as loud as you can. A little

1:48:09 friends in low places.

1:48:24 I showed up in boo and ruined your blind

1:48:28 t.

1:48:31 The last one to know. the last one to

1:48:34 show I was the last one you thought

1:48:37 you'd see there.

1:48:38 >> You sound great.

1:48:40 >> And I saw a surprise and the fear in his

1:48:43 eyes when I took his glass of

1:48:51 honey.

1:48:57 >> Let me hear you.

1:49:03 Whisy

1:49:28 in love faces.

1:49:31 Now, we love you guys so much. Now,

1:49:34 let's gear up.

1:49:39 >> We've all got friends in low places here

1:49:42 in Banana Land.

1:49:43 >> Some of them wearing yellow even.

1:49:45 >> Exactly.

1:49:46 So, was that broadcaster even

1:49:49 technically wrong when he said we were

1:49:51 going to turn this place yellow?

1:49:53 >> I think the place was already yellow.

1:49:55 Really?

1:49:55 >> Right. And we turned it even more yellow

1:49:58 thanks to friends in low places.

1:50:01 >> Right. That kosher for you, Josh?

1:50:03 >> Yeah. Checks out for me. Thank you.

1:50:06 >> Take a look. It's been all tailgator

1:50:08 domination for seven and a half innings

1:50:10 so far tonight,

1:50:13 >> dude. Come on. I'm trying to keep score,

1:50:15 Brett. Stop knocking all my pens down.

1:50:18 >> Well, you tried to stab me with it. That

1:50:19 was just like self-defense there, you

1:50:21 know?

1:50:34 It's Barf, Justice, and Gonzalez

1:50:37 as we head to the bottom of the eighth

1:50:38 inning.

1:50:41 Grant Besser out for another frame of

1:50:43 relief.

1:50:50 and Jordan Bar with the ball and a

1:50:52 strike on him.

1:50:53 >> And it's not impossible, but the Bananas

1:50:54 would need nine trick plays here in the

1:50:56 inning to win the equalizer point.

1:51:00 >> Not impossible, but pretty improbable.

1:51:02 >> So, you're saying there's a chance.

1:51:06 Laser beam from Jordan Bar and past the

1:51:09 dive of Robert Anthony Cruz all the way

1:51:11 to the wall. Bar is

1:51:15 content with a standup double. That guy

1:51:18 is seeing beach balls at the plate. He's

1:51:20 aboard for the third time tonight. He's

1:51:21 two for two. He had the walk-off RBI

1:51:24 sprint to win the fifth.

1:51:25 >> There's red hot and then there's the

1:51:27 surface of the sun. And then there's

1:51:30 Jordan Bar right now.

1:51:35 >> It's only a matter of time for one of

1:51:38 the greatest baseball players in the

1:51:40 history of Sou Falls.

1:51:45 Look out. Andrew Bartman, I think might

1:51:48 have got clipped by that foul ball from

1:51:49 Taylor Justice.

1:51:51 >> Great coaching from Bart telling them to

1:51:53 keep it in play there.

1:51:54 >> Smart

1:51:59 >> Justice the walk-off double to win the

1:52:00 second inning. Then was pinch hit for in

1:52:02 the sixth.

1:52:09 >> That one gets away from Loy.

1:52:12 Justice will stay put, but Bar grabs an

1:52:14 extra 90 ft on the wild pitch.

1:52:21 >> How about the year Taylor Justice is

1:52:23 having leading the team hitting 394

1:52:28 and Hill the ball for sprint. That will

1:52:30 walk off the eighth inning and it is a

1:52:33 five to nothing tailgator lead going to

1:52:36 our final frame. Two walkoffs tonight

1:52:38 for Taylor Justice and the tour leader

1:52:41 in WRC Plus continues to provide for

1:52:46 this Texas Tailgator team.

1:52:48 >> Have one more surprise for you. Right

1:52:51 after this show, the All American

1:52:54 Rejects are going to have a popup

1:52:55 concert right there on the stage. So,

1:52:58 they are here for their first popup

1:53:00 show. They're going to be rocking. Both

1:53:02 teams are going to be out there. So,

1:53:03 right after this, the All-American

1:53:05 Rejects are going to be jamming.

1:53:09 >> What a night in Navasota, Texas.

1:53:13 >> Our good friends, the All-American

1:53:14 Rejects, made their banana ball debut in

1:53:17 Fenway Park. And now, Garrett Lampert

1:53:20 talking to the folks

1:53:21 >> to nothing.

1:53:22 >> But here's the thing about this final

1:53:24 inning. Every run scored will count for

1:53:27 a point, which means this game is far

1:53:29 from over. And the Savannah Bananas are

1:53:31 as dangerous as ever. But it also means

1:53:34 that your Texas tailgators need just

1:53:37 three outs to win the game right here.

1:53:41 Navasota, welcome to the final in.

1:53:49 >> Thank you, Garrett. I apologize so much

1:53:51 for talking over you. I was excited

1:53:52 about the All-American Rejects.

1:53:57 >> I'm excited about this guy. be Reese

1:54:00 Miller. And I know Bananas fans have to

1:54:02 be excited to see him, too. The Bananas

1:54:05 trailing at UNCC by three points. Come

1:54:09 back after an RBI ball for Sprint and

1:54:11 then the two-run yaya from Coach Rack.

1:54:13 We then go to the open where yet again,

1:54:15 Coach Rack plays spoiler in game two

1:54:18 sends us the showdowns. Tailgator still

1:54:20 end up winning that one. However, Reese

1:54:22 Miller after not a good outing, he tell

1:54:24 you that after giving up four points in

1:54:26 the ninth inning last Friday night

1:54:28 against the Coconuts, comes out and goes

1:54:30 one, two, three on Sunday in route to a

1:54:33 walk-off winner from Zack Watson here.

1:54:35 Very low leverage situation. You're up

1:54:37 five to nothing, just needing three outs

1:54:40 to get yourself back in the win, Kyle.

1:54:42 Would be the first regular season

1:54:43 victory for the Tailgator over the Bayas

1:54:45 here in 2026. I think this is a perfect

1:54:48 opportunity for Ree to finally be the

1:54:50 kryptonite against his kryptonite in the

1:54:52 yellow, the Savannah Banatics.

1:54:53 >> Well, my favorite thing about Reese

1:54:55 Miller is this is a guy who is very

1:54:57 competitive and yeah, he's hard on

1:55:00 himself, but it's because he holds

1:55:01 himself to such a high standard and

1:55:03 we've already seen for Brett Allen and

1:55:06 for Jimmy Lewis, they've had

1:55:07 opportunities for get right outings

1:55:09 tonight with the Gator leading so large.

1:55:12 So now the same is true for Reese Miller

1:55:15 here in the ninth inning. Although he

1:55:17 has fallen behind Kyle Jackson with each

1:55:20 of his first two deliveries.

1:55:25 >> All fast balls. That was a good looking

1:55:27 pitch. Vincent Chapman says it missed

1:55:29 low.

1:55:30 >> So a three on KJ.

1:55:35 >> And that is maybe a makeup call.

1:55:41 3-1.

1:55:45 >> Lined out to left center. Barehanded out

1:55:48 of the sky. Jordan Hussein.

1:55:51 >> Bareheadand bucket fiber.

1:55:54 They're just doing them for the love of

1:55:56 the game at this point. 14 trick plays

1:55:59 for the Texas Tailgator. And that's just

1:56:01 a personified in the Texas kid.

1:56:08 Tailgator putting on an absolute banana

1:56:10 ball clinic tonight.

1:56:13 The namesake of the sport, the Savannah

1:56:16 Bananas. Down to their final two outs.

1:56:17 Bill Loy homerred his last time. Two for

1:56:21 three on the night.

1:56:26 >> Guy who's been seeing the ball really

1:56:27 well. Couple hits last weekend in the

1:56:29 Bronx.

1:56:31 Big one was a two-run double

1:56:35 >> and he has himself ahead 3 0.

1:56:40 >> Bananas need four guys to reach before

1:56:42 they can think about tying this game.

1:56:47 >> And a pitcher pitch to make it three and

1:56:50 one.

1:56:56 >> Bill Loy make it three for four on the

1:56:59 evening. Indie trying to throw out his

1:57:01 former bananas teammate at first. That

1:57:04 was tight. Taylor Justice says maybe we

1:57:06 should challenge.

1:57:09 >> Can't take it with you. Up by five

1:57:11 points. This would be the second out of

1:57:15 the ninth inning. I mean, obviously

1:57:17 Bill's safe. You don't need to challenge

1:57:18 it, but why not?

1:57:23 >> Maybe because the crowd really wants to

1:57:25 get out and watch the All-American

1:57:26 Rejects.

1:57:28 And if I may wax poetically for a

1:57:29 moment, what the American All-American

1:57:31 Rejects did a couple years ago, just

1:57:33 popping up doing pop-up concerts could

1:57:35 be alluded to an inspiration of what

1:57:37 we've done here tonight at Navasota High

1:57:39 School with this pop-up game.

1:57:40 >> 100% as that one bounces off of Miller.

1:57:43 He's chasing it down. Flip to justice

1:57:45 just in time.

1:57:47 >> There's two out

1:57:48 >> as Loy up to second

1:57:50 >> and the Nanners down to their final out.

1:57:53 >> And look who it is coming up to the

1:57:55 dish. What a great play by Reese Miller.

1:57:57 The one guy that has had Reese Miller's

1:58:00 number that's wearing the yellow this

1:58:02 year. Robert Anthony Cruz as they're out

1:58:05 there checking on Ree.

1:58:07 He dropped the glove and is walking

1:58:09 around right now.

1:58:11 Looked like that one caught him in the

1:58:13 leg.

1:58:14 >> Yeah, he was running a little gingerly

1:58:15 just trying to feel that banana ball and

1:58:17 flip it to Looters at the first base

1:58:20 bag. I mean, that is a really tough

1:58:22 play. Doesn't look like it on the

1:58:24 surface, but once you get struck like

1:58:26 that, it's super difficult. So, I don't

1:58:29 blame the tailgator at all. Just giving

1:58:31 Reese Miller a little extra time to try

1:58:34 and get comfortable and prepare to

1:58:37 potentially get this final out against

1:58:39 Robert Anthony Cruz, who has taken him

1:58:41 deep twice this year.

1:58:48 A lot of insurance for Reese Miller

1:58:50 though in this one.

1:58:52 Racken hit a fiveun homer.

1:59:01 >> Big swing and a miss on the fast ball.

1:59:13 >> Slider in there for strike two.

1:59:18 >> The bananas down to their final strike.

1:59:25 Chopper right side. Lutters between the

1:59:28 legs. Trick play for the win. And what a

1:59:31 perfect ending to absolute dominance.

1:59:34 The tailgator win this popup game five

1:59:37 to nothing. Bucket from Sunny to end it.

1:59:40 You mentioned it. Held the Savannah

1:59:42 Bananas pointless here tonight. And for

1:59:45 the first time in 320 days, the Texas

1:59:48 Tailgator have scored a victory over the

1:59:50 Savannah Bananas in the regular season.

1:59:53 But the for the third time over the last

1:59:55 three times they played, including the

1:59:57 Open, the Tailgator are 3 and 0. The

2:00:00 team that had their number more than

2:00:01 anybody else in the Banana Ball

2:00:03 Championship League, the boys from Texas

2:00:05 are starting to write their wrongs with

2:00:07 a five to nothing victory on an already

2:00:10 historic night. The first ever pop-up

2:00:12 game in Banana Ball history. It's these

2:00:14 Texas tailgators who are the main story

2:00:16 here in the Lone Star State.

2:00:20 >> Jesse Cole, what say you

2:00:23 >> fans? Thank you so much for being at the

2:00:26 first ever popup game. Tonight was

2:00:28 special and you were part of history as

2:00:31 a tailgator here celebrate. Let's also

2:00:33 give a round of applause for the

2:00:35 Savannah Bananas.

2:00:41 Well, we're not done yet. But we are

2:00:43 going to have one tradition here and

2:00:45 then we're going to go out celebrate

2:00:46 with the All-American Rejects and have

2:00:48 some fun with all you sign autographs,

2:00:50 meet you all and thank you in person.

2:00:52 But we do want to finish with a

2:00:54 tradition out here. So I'll go to our

2:00:56 captain of the bananas, Bill.

2:01:02 Break us down, Bill.

2:01:05 What's up, you guys?

2:01:08 >> Did y'all have fun tonight?

2:01:12 I tell you what, even though we lost, we

2:01:14 also had a lot of fun tonight. And we

2:01:16 can't thank you guys enough. We

2:01:17 literally put this out super late today

2:01:19 and all of you guys showed up to show to

2:01:22 love on us and support us. It just means

2:01:24 the world how much you guys care about

2:01:25 what we do. It means the world to us.

2:01:27 So, thank you from the bottom of our

2:01:28 hearts for being the best fans in the

2:01:29 whole entire world. We love you guys.

2:01:34 >> So, before we go to a concert tonight

2:01:36 and hear some good music, I want to

2:01:37 break it down as one big family before

2:01:39 we go home. So everybody get your hands

2:01:40 up high around the ballpark.

2:01:44 We're going to say fans first loud and

2:01:46 proud on three all together. But I need

2:01:49 to know

2:01:51 are you ready?

2:01:56 >> They said no.

2:01:58 I said are you ready?

2:02:02 >> There we go. Hands up. First on three.

2:02:06 One, two, three.

2:02:08 >> Love you guys. Always

2:02:12 awesome getting to hear from the captain

2:02:14 Bill Loy even after Billy Barrels and

2:02:19 his squad get absolutely mollywaled.

2:02:22 Their keers

2:02:24 kicked in five to nil. Tailgator

2:02:27 dominate this from start to finish

2:02:30 and they couldn't have done it without

2:02:32 another dazzling performance

2:02:35 from our showman of the game Brett

2:02:37 Sanchez. after going five innings

2:02:39 without allowing an earned run and

2:02:41 striking out 10 last Friday against the

2:02:43 Loco Beach Coconut son of a gun if he

2:02:45 went six scoreless against the Nanners

2:02:47 here tonight. He was downright

2:02:49 disgusting. Yeah, he's the hottest

2:02:50 pitcher in Banana Ball right now. And

2:02:53 you saw another trick pitch strike out

2:02:55 coming from Brett Sanchez. He had, you

2:02:57 know, control of all spots in the zone,

2:03:00 being able to pitch high, down low,

2:03:02 inside, outside, and inducing a lot of

2:03:05 trick plays as well in the contest. 10

2:03:08 of the 15 trick plays that the tailgator

2:03:11 got tonight came behind Brett Sanchez

2:03:14 and that included three double trick

2:03:17 plays. So, a very impressive night

2:03:19 overall.

2:03:23 >> Brad S.

2:03:26 innings pitched, no earn runs, only one

2:03:28 hit. Mention those five strikeouts.

2:03:30 Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank

2:03:33 you. Thank you. 15 to five in the trick

2:03:36 plays as well. Brett Sanchez and 10 of

2:03:39 them. Rex, how are the boys? Thanks.

2:03:41 Thank

2:03:41 >> Hey, thanks. Thanks. So, Brett Loftess

2:03:43 is still saying thank you, thank you,

2:03:44 thank you. From your performance at

2:03:46 Amarillo to tonight, you played in a lot

2:03:48 of different arenas. What was it like to

2:03:49 play in this intimate kind of arena? I'm

2:03:52 not going to lie, I didn't think I'd

2:03:53 ever play in a high school field again

2:03:54 that actually mattered outside of like a

2:03:55 scrimmage other than in high school. So,

2:03:58 honestly, it kind of felt good to come

2:03:59 back and throw at a high school field

2:04:02 because in high school baseball, it was

2:04:03 all just you showed up, you went to

2:04:05 biology before and you just went and

2:04:07 played baseball with your friends and

2:04:08 that's exactly what we get to do here.

2:04:09 >> Well, the science of throwing a strike

2:04:11 out you have down to an absolute master

2:04:13 class. What do you what is the routine

2:04:14 like on the plate and you know, are your

2:04:16 legs tired at this point? You've done so

2:04:18 many of those celebrations. the

2:04:19 hamstrings are going to be popping out

2:04:20 of the legs by the end of the season.

2:04:21 But uh but no, I I have a very simple

2:04:24 concept and I don't know if I want to

2:04:26 give it away to all the hitters, but

2:04:27 honestly, I don't care. I throw the ball

2:04:29 down the middle of the plate and I'm not

2:04:30 good enough to hit my spot and so it

2:04:32 normally hits around that strike zone.

2:04:34 So, and hitting is the hardest thing to

2:04:36 do in sports and so if you throw it in

2:04:38 the zone, you're going to have success.

2:04:40 >> And any advice for Brett Loft who has to

2:04:42 keep saying thank you, thank you, thank

2:04:43 you since you're up there.

2:04:44 >> Drink some green hot tea with some honey

2:04:46 in it. Keep that voice lubed up. Hey,

2:04:48 there you go, Brad. I know he might have

2:04:49 to do a lot more of that with this guy

2:04:50 on the mound. Let's send it back to you.

2:04:53 >> Thank you very much, Rex. And uh that is

2:04:56 honestly sage advice for Mr. Sanchez.

2:04:59 Thank you very much and welcome back

2:05:01 inside with Josh Tvki and Brett Loftess.

2:05:04 I am Bo Scalla. Thank you all so much

2:05:06 for spending your thirsty Thursday with

2:05:08 us here in a surprise banana

2:05:11 extravaganza. 5 nothing win for the

2:05:14 Texas Tailgator. Josh, I want to start

2:05:16 with you. Uh that is just about as much

2:05:18 as you can dominate in the sport of

2:05:20 banana ball.

2:05:20 >> And again, it happens in this popup

2:05:23 game. I mean, these teams are kind of

2:05:24 doing it on short notice. And you saw

2:05:26 allound excellence from the Texas

2:05:28 Tailgator. The pitching staff as a whole

2:05:31 utterly dominant tonight. And again, we

2:05:33 know that they have proven themselves to

2:05:35 be this best trick play team in Banana

2:05:37 Ball in 2026. The same was true tonight.

2:05:40 Yet again, 15 trick plays and it came

2:05:43 all around the diamond from these guys.

2:05:45 a very impressive victory and the

2:05:48 Savannah Bananas, I mean, they continue

2:05:50 to win games, but we have seen since the

2:05:52 Banana Ball opened, the offense has been

2:05:55 a little stagnant and a surprising note

2:05:57 that's kind of flying under the radar.

2:05:59 The Bananas are batting lower than 250

2:06:02 with runners in scoring position here in

2:06:05 the month of April. So, the hits have

2:06:07 come, but they haven't exactly been

2:06:09 timely. It's been a lot of Dan Ober and

2:06:11 Billy. They need to figure out a way for

2:06:13 the rest of this lineup to start to get

2:06:15 cooking again if they want to remain at

2:06:17 the top of the Banana Ball Championship

2:06:19 League. And when it comes to the Texas

2:06:21 Tailgator, I mean, this was a fantastic

2:06:24 victory to open up this two-game set.

2:06:26 >> Yeah, absolute domination here in the

2:06:27 Lone Star State at Navasota High School.

2:06:29 You mentioned trick plays. You've seen

2:06:31 it tonight. Kyle Martin now takes the

2:06:32 league league by himself in home runs

2:06:34 with six. Brett Sanchez now 11 scoreless

2:06:38 frames he's thrown in his last two

2:06:39 starts with 16 strikeouts in that span.

2:06:43 I mean absolutely incredible. And what

2:06:45 about this note? We've talked about the

2:06:46 open the open the open. The tailgator

2:06:49 now join the party animals is the two

2:06:51 teams in banana ball this year to defeat

2:06:52 the Bananas in regular season play. The

2:06:55 previous two losses for the bananas have

2:06:57 both come against the black and pink.

2:06:58 And here tonight, the Tailgator, for the

2:07:00 first time in 320 days since June the

2:07:04 14th of 2025, finally defeat the Bananas

2:07:06 in a regular season game. And it was

2:07:08 here in front of a thousand people on a

2:07:10 historic night, April the 30th, 2026.

2:07:13 We'll never forget it at Navasota High

2:07:15 School. We go from here to quite the

2:07:17 biggest, the largest on Saturday.

2:07:19 >> Cannot wait to see what Kyle Field is

2:07:22 going to look like with over 100,000

2:07:25 Banana Ball fans in it. It's just going

2:07:28 to be absolutely mind-boggling. We

2:07:30 talked about it earlier on tonight, but

2:07:32 this is the fourth largest football

2:07:35 stadium in the entire country when it

2:07:37 comes to college football. It is the

2:07:39 largest football stadium in the mighty

2:07:41 SEC. This is going to be a scene. I I

2:07:43 just don't know if anybody ever

2:07:45 anticipated a game of any sort of

2:07:48 baseball variety. Of course, Banana Ball

2:07:50 a little different, but a game to be

2:07:52 played in front of a 100,000 people. And

2:07:55 yet that is going to become a reality on

2:07:57 Saturday in Kyle Field. I know we're

2:08:00 excited for it and the energy from the

2:08:02 bananas and tailgators very much the

2:08:05 same. I'm expecting another super

2:08:07 competitive battle. And we have just

2:08:09 barely dipped our toes in the water when

2:08:11 it comes to this wonderful weekend of

2:08:12 Banana Ball. Right this very second, you

2:08:16 should be switching over to the Party

2:08:17 Animals YouTube channel so you can see

2:08:19 the Coconuts and Animals do battle in

2:08:21 Las Vegas. That's the first of three

2:08:23 games between those two exciting squads.

2:08:26 And then the Clowns and Firefighters

2:08:28 will kick off their series in Richmond,

2:08:30 Virginia, Friday night. That is tomorrow

2:08:33 for everybody keeping track at home 700

2:08:35 p.m. Eastern on the Firefighters YouTube

2:08:37 channel. We will all be watching those

2:08:39 two games tomorrow night. And then we'll

2:08:41 have you back in action on the Texas

2:08:44 Tailgator YouTube channel as well as

2:08:46 ESPN 2, ESPN app and Disney Plus.

2:08:49 Saturday night, Bananas Tailgator from

2:08:52 Kyle Field. Another Tailgator headlining

2:08:55 game, another Tailgator home game. And

2:08:58 they look to earn a sweep of this two

2:09:01 game set, which is a surprising twoame

2:09:03 set at that. But instead of a,000 fans,

2:09:06 they get over 100,000 fans. And I'll

2:09:08 tell you what, if anybody is able to

2:09:10 sweep the Savannah Bananas here in 2026,

2:09:13 it looks like it's the Texas Tailgator.

2:09:14 >> It's just I I think outside of the

2:09:16 bananas right now, and I don't think I'm

2:09:17 crazy to say this, any sort of bias. the

2:09:19 most complete team in the sport. I mean,

2:09:21 when you look at it tonight, Kyle Martin

2:09:23 home run, that's what you lead the

2:09:24 league in. 15 trick plays. You led the

2:09:26 league in that tonight. Starting

2:09:27 pitching is their calling card, though.

2:09:29 The three best starting pitchers in the

2:09:31 entire sport, perhaps live on this team.

2:09:33 Brett Sanchez, his second start tonight.

2:09:35 He's been wonderful in both. And then

2:09:37 you look at Chris Clark and Christian

2:09:38 Davis, who are second and third in ERA

2:09:41 in the whole sport right now. We're

2:09:43 going to get to see both of those guys

2:09:45 throw on Saturday night. And I mean,

2:09:48 where else would you rather be than be

2:09:49 with us at College Station, the pitching

2:09:51 matchup that you're going to see are

2:09:53 probable starters of Austin Drury and

2:09:55 Chris Clark, those have been outside of

2:09:57 David Griffin, the two best starters in

2:09:59 the whole sport. And we're talking about

2:10:00 on ESPN 2 in front of 102,000 people.

2:10:04 Come on now.

2:10:05 >> Yeah. And for the Nanners, them going to

2:10:07 Austin Drury looking to be their

2:10:08 stopper.

2:10:09 >> Yeah. I mean, Austin Drury has been

2:10:10 fantastic this season. very much worthy

2:10:12 of being that first round selection for

2:10:14 the Savannah Bananas building a

2:10:16 compelling rookie of the year case like

2:10:18 we said with Chris Clark and David

2:10:20 Griffin of the Indianapolis Clowns. So,

2:10:22 it's going to be a really interesting

2:10:23 pitching matchup although I'm expecting

2:10:25 a lot of arms to be throwing throughout

2:10:27 that ball game in Texas A&M. And of

2:10:30 course, Stank Stank has officially

2:10:32 entered that rookie of the year

2:10:33 conversation as well. Uh I would bet a

2:10:35 lot of money that he's going to be the

2:10:37 April pitcher of the month when all is

2:10:39 said and done, but uh that is to be

2:10:41 decided. A big thank you to everybody

2:10:42 who watched this broadcast with us and

2:10:45 as well our entire crew. It starts here

2:10:48 on a high school campus. Unbelievable

2:10:51 work from everybody from our engineers.

2:10:53 I mean Sean McCcluskey and company.

2:10:55 Wonderful stuff. And then it all has to

2:10:57 happen in the control room on the other

2:10:59 side of the country in Savannah,

2:11:00 Georgia. Our broadcast directed by Chris

2:11:02 Haynes. Great work by everybody in the

2:11:04 control room. And a big thank you to our

2:11:07 producer Chad Ree, our executive

2:11:08 producer Josh Richardson, our guys down

2:11:11 on the field, Sam Bowman and Rex

2:11:12 Castillo, and my wonderful crew in the

2:11:14 booth, Josh Tleski and Brett Loftess. I

2:11:17 am Bo Scala saying so long for now. We

2:11:20 will see you Saturday night in Kyle

2:11:22 Field for the biggest game in Banana

2:11:24 Ball history. And for the time being,

2:11:26 we'll see you over on the Party Animals

2:11:27 YouTube channel. But until then, we will

2:11:30 see you later.

2:11:51 Get her all up.

2:12:09 Hey,

2:12:18 hey, hey.

2:12:43 Hello again.

Also on Thursday, April 30: Coconuts @ Animals 6–7
