📝 Full transcript (4334 segments)

0:10 The Loco Beach Coconut and Savannah

0:13 Bananas clash in Grayson Stadium as we

0:16 kick off this three-game set. The

0:18 Coconuts are as hot as anybody in the

0:20 sport coming in winners of three [music]

0:22 straight series while the Bananas look

0:24 to right the ship hunting a series win

0:26 for the first time in over a month. And

0:29 it is Aces wild tonight. The number two

0:32 overall draft pick Drake Fathauer gets

0:35 the ball for Loco Beach as the Nanners

0:37 counter with their first rounder, the

0:39 number four overall draft pick Mr.

0:42 Austin Drury. Can't think of a better

0:45 place to be tonight than virtual Banana

0:47 Land. Happy Thirsty Thursday everybody.

0:50 The 10 and 10 Coconuts against the 12

0:53 and 6 Bananas as we bring you inside

0:55 with Josh Tolewski, Biko Skala. Once

0:58 again, Happy Thirsty Thursday. Thanks

1:00 for spending it with us here in the BTV

1:03 world. Josh, what a collision of teams

1:05 here. The first time the Bananas and

1:07 Coconuts have played since late March in

1:10 San Diego and two teams trending in

1:12 opposite directions. Coconuts winners of

1:14 three straight series. The Bananas

1:16 trying to right the ship as they have

1:18 not won a series since April 11th and

1:20 12th in Chapel Hill.

1:21 >> And this is very much a power on power

1:23 match up when you consider that the

1:25 Bananas are still the best pitching

1:26 staff in Banana Ball this season.

1:28 Meanwhile, Loco Beach can attribute so

1:31 much of their success to the offense

1:33 throughout this season. Jordan Brewer,

1:35 Tanner Allen, Dane Toflin, a lot of

1:37 these guys swinging really hot bats

1:40 right now for Loco Beach. But the

1:42 Bananas just might have their mojo back

1:44 this week and not only getting to play

1:46 here in Savannah, Georgia, but they only

1:48 have one loss playing as the home team

1:51 here in 2026 during the regular season.

1:54 >> We had nine games of action last week

1:57 and so just in case you missed any of

1:59 it, let's catch up on what happened.

2:01 Starting in Atlanta, and how about the

2:04 Party Animals getting the action going

2:05 [music] early against Austin Drury, T.J.

2:08 Reeves. Heck of a weekend for the Banana

2:10 Ball rookie. Bringing in Jake Skol, the

2:12 hometown kid. Just like that, Party

2:14 Animals up 1-0. And then Dustin Beaver,

2:17 what a piece of two-strike hitting with

2:18 two outs. Serving that into center, and

2:21 just like that, it is already a 2-0

2:24 Animals lead.

2:25 >> Yeah, definitely the hot start the

2:26 Animals were looking for. And Garrett

2:28 Delano turned in the best performance of

2:30 his 2026 campaign. [music]

2:32 Six scoreless innings against the

2:34 Savannah Bananas, who would earn the

2:36 equalizer point in this contest, making

2:38 it a 1-2 ballgame. But how about Jake

2:41 SKOL GETTING A LITTLE more insurance for

2:43 the boys in black and pink with his

2:46 eighth-inning opposite-field walk-off

2:48 single.

2:49 >> Yeah, another great piece of two-strike

2:50 hitting as well. But it would come down

2:52 to the wire. Peter Holden looking for

2:54 his first save of the year. Bill Leroy

2:57 represented the go-ahead run at the

2:58 dish. But Tanner Townson foul territory

3:01 there to put it away as the Party

3:03 Animals, how apropos, they get the

3:05 victory in their first-ever Major League

3:06 Baseball Stadium headlining game. But

3:08 two batters into night two, Robert

3:11 Anthony Cruz with a heck of a

3:12 counterpunch. It would be the first of

3:14 three runs in the inning for the Nanners

3:16 as they look to start on the right foot.

3:18 >> His team-leading fourth home run of the

3:20 season for the Bananas, who would score

3:22 three runs in the top of the first, AND

3:24 THEY WOULD CAP OFF EARNING THEIR FIRST

3:26 POINT WITH THAT BACKFLIP IN LEFT FIELD.

3:28 NO ONE MISSED IT. FIRED UP, but

3:30 struggling with his control in inning

3:33 number three. That would draw the

3:35 Animals even.

3:36 >> Max Leon Goldberg had himself a heck of

3:38 a weekend with a couple ducks on the

3:39 pond top four. He's firing up his

3:42 captain, Bill Leroy, driving in a run.

3:44 And then with the inning-tying run at

3:46 third, winning run at first, Cockins

3:48 Cockins Ziggy, the Keystone State

3:51 connection getting the double trick

3:53 play. 3-1 game, bottom seven, Tanner

3:55 Thomas with the fate of the frame in his

3:58 hands. That's a walk-off shot, making it

4:00 3-2.

4:00 >> Yeah, the Bananas again, for a second

4:02 straight night, would earn the equalizer

4:04 point. And it's a second straight night

4:06 where Jake Skull has a walk-off single

4:08 in the eighth inning, putting the

4:10 Animals within one point here in the

4:12 ninth inning. And Skull facing off

4:15 against Hasley. And how about Ty

4:17 Jackson, a warning track grab to draw

4:20 the Nanners even with the Animals in

4:22 Atlanta and force a game three rubber

4:24 match. And T.J. Reeves getting the

4:27 offense going early once again.

4:29 >> How about that? He's got the

4:31 inning-winning double, bringing Jake

4:33 Skull, nursing that sore right hamstring

4:36 all the way from first base. Heck of a

4:37 hustle from the sixth-year Party Animal.

4:39 And then Ashton Lansdell, the pride of

4:41 Marietta, Georgia, 10 minutes from

4:43 Truist Park. She has the specialty

4:45 walk-up and walk-off to win inning

4:47 number two.

4:47 >> Now, you want to talk about special,

4:49 it's Raleigh Green, the country music

4:51 star, getting a pinch-hit at bat for the

4:54 Bananas, down 0-2 against Drew

4:56 Gillespie, and he legs out the single,

4:59 and it would lead to a big Nanners rally

5:02 in the fifth inning. Max Young-Goldberg

5:04 looping this banana ball into

5:06 right-center field, and the Nanners

5:08 would finally earn their first point of

5:10 the game against Drew Gillespie and

5:12 chase him out of the ballgame.

5:13 >> But not content with just that, they put

5:15 two runs on the board in the sixth. Jake

5:17 Skull DRIVES IN BLOOMER. HAMPTON

5:19 THINKING ABOUT tying the inning, gets

5:21 gunned down by rat heads-up defense by

5:24 the Bananas. A back pick on Hampton to

5:26 make it a 2-2 game. But then Tanner

5:29 Thomas bounces to short. You think it

5:31 should still BE 2-2. OH, COX, the throw

5:33 goes offline. Swan comes in to score.

5:36 Party Animals back ahead.

5:37 >> But the lead wouldn't last for very

5:39 long. Kyle Jackson facing off against

5:41 Dillon Porter top eight. HE SAYS

5:43 SAYONARA TO THAT BANANA BALL, [music]

5:46 making it a three-point game for both of

5:48 these squads. NOW, WITH MAN ON THIRD IN

5:50 THE FINAL INNING, Robert Anthony Cruz

5:53 grounds out to Jason Swan, and with the

5:56 Animals up against Danny Hously and a

5:58 man on first, it would be Hously's first

6:01 earned run of 2026.

6:04 Jason Swan collecting this double, and

6:07 the Animals walk it off in Atlanta and

6:09 secure the series victory.

6:11 >> Yeah, and that ended a streak of 28

6:13 straight innings without an earned run

6:16 for Danny Hously. As you take a look at

6:18 the series as a whole, Garrett Delano

6:21 fantastic across six scoreless innings,

6:24 earning the win in game one, and then

6:26 Ryan Cox, the showman of the game,

6:28 helping the Nanners snap that four-game

6:29 losing streak with the 4-3 victory on

6:31 night two. TJ Reeves, the hero as the

6:34 Animals won the series in game three.

6:36 >> And again, you saw some good things

6:37 going for the Bananas in that series,

6:39 considering they earned the equalizer

6:40 twice, both on Friday and on Saturday.

6:43 But, really what cost them throughout

6:45 that series, a few too many ball four

6:47 sprints, and a couple costly trick plays

6:50 missed, and errors that they are hoping

6:52 to clean up this week, and facing off

6:54 against a talented Loco Beach Coconuts

6:57 team.

6:57 >> Okay, we are all caught up on what the

6:59 Nanners did last week. You speak of the

7:01 Coconuts, let's see how it went down

7:03 against the Firefighters in the first

7:05 ever Banana Ball games in Wichita,

7:07 Kansas. Pick it up, second inning of

7:09 action last Thursday night, the

7:11 shortstop, Peyton Shot Tonye, RBI double

7:14 down the left field line to bring in

7:16 their two-way man, Brett Carson, all the

7:18 way from first. Just like that, Coconuts

7:21 striking first, and looking for some

7:23 more in the third. Ashby Vining rocking

7:25 one of

7:26 Drake Bolt's many fur coats, brings in

7:29 Armani Henderson. That would lead to

7:31 another inning win, Coconuts up 2-0

7:33 early.

7:34 >> But, the Firefighters would start to

7:35 creep their way back into this ballgame.

7:37 The lone hit Drake Boltno gave up in his

7:40 start would be a walk-off for Logan

7:42 Lacey and the Firefighters making it a

7:43 two-to-one ball game. And Keegan James,

7:46 a costly ball four sprinting the sixth,

7:48 makes things all even. Now, Brady Morgan

7:51 up in the eighth inning with a chance to

7:53 put Loco Beach on the board. But, how

7:55 about this relay? It's Darian McDowell

7:58 to Caden Green, OFF-BALANCE THROW, and

8:01 perfect to Eric Jones Jr. They put the

8:04 tag on Dalton Malmberg. But, how about

8:06 this? Coconuts would earn [music] the

8:08 equalizer point to give them a

8:10 three-to-two lead, and that would be the

8:12 final [music] score as they win on night

8:14 one. We've seen the equalizer point be

8:16 the difference so many times already

8:18 here in the first full season of its

8:20 existence. And then, Ben Parker said,

8:22 "Let's knock it the scoring going in THE

8:24 SECOND INNING." RBI DOUBLE IN THE first

8:26 for Benny Pumps in his first game played

8:29 in the series after he had the night off

8:31 on Thursday. But, then the counter

8:33 punch, Logan Lacey bringing in South

8:35 Trimble. It is tied two-two. Top of the

8:38 seventh inning, Dane Toplin his second

8:40 home run in as many nights. The Canadian

8:43 slugger on a tear.

8:44 >> Yeah, and he gets to keep slip-sliding

8:46 his way into home plate for Loco Beach.

8:48 An impressive piece of hitting for the

8:50 Great Dane. Now, here eighth inning,

8:52 it's Dalton Cornett roping this one in

8:55 the right field and cutting into that

8:57 Coconuts lead. All of a sudden, just

8:59 four to [music] three with the Coconuts

9:01 up a point. But, this is where things

9:03 would get absolutely bonkers. It's

9:06 Toplin collecting his fourth hit of the

9:08 ball game. He would finish a triple shy

9:11 of the cycle and make it a six-to-three

9:13 ball game. Coconuts would tack on

9:15 another run becoming a point. And then,

9:18 Gideon Antal, THIS ONE LONG BOMBS AWAY.

9:22 His second home run of the year. Both

9:24 have come against the reigning pitcher

9:26 of the year, and that is 10 points for

9:28 the Coconuts in this ball game.

9:30 >> I mean, that should be plenty, right?

9:32 It's

9:32 You would think. Uh-oh, Caden Green.

9:35 He's one of the top MVP candidates two

9:37 and a half months into this season.

9:39 Two-run double. Now, it is a 10-7 game.

9:42 Noah Bridges, THE VETERAN HOT SHOT, OFF

9:44 THE GLOVE of Brewer, making 10 to 8. All

9:47 of a sudden, the tying run's on first.

9:49 Cornett represents the game-winning run,

9:51 and C.J. Williams able to stop the

9:53 bleeding right there. And Tail squeezes

9:55 it just like I mean, talk about two

9:58 hands, making sure that the 10-8 victory

10:00 is secured there.

10:00 >> And that's a clutch series victory for

10:02 Loco Beach. Now, they open up the

10:04 scoring TOP ONE. IT'S BIG TIMBER Dane

10:07 Tautfest laying the wood at the plate.

10:09 His third home run of the series. He

10:11 would be Banana Ball's player of the

10:13 week, putting the Coconuts up one to

10:15 nothing. But, in the third inning, it's

10:17 South Trimble with a spot start and a

10:20 walk-off single to even things at

10:22 [music] a point a piece.

10:24 >> Small sample size, Trimble's been

10:25 unbelievable at the dish this year. But,

10:28 how about Lamar Sparks? He's been

10:29 fantastic in a large sample size. His

10:32 fourth home run and one of my favorite

10:34 home run celebrations for the rookie.

10:36 >> Yeah, you got to appreciate the dance

10:37 moves from Lamar Sparks. Now, here in

10:40 the sixth inning, how about Ben Parker?

10:42 A little scraper on the dirt that puts

10:45 the Coconuts back into this game. It's

10:47 two all. But, how about the base

10:50 running? South Trimble off and running

10:52 as ball four is issued. HE COMES ALL THE

10:54 WAY AROUND to score for the

10:56 Firefighters, making it a 3-2 game. And

10:59 Johnny Hummel would hang on, earn the

11:01 save, and the Firefighters would avoid

11:04 the sweep in Wichita, Kansas with a

11:06 clutch game three dub. But, the headline

11:09 for the series, Coconuts scorching hot.

11:12 It's their third straight series

11:13 victory. All of them have been

11:15 three-game sets. And you take a look at

11:17 it, it was the equalizer point that was

11:19 the difference on a Thursday night in

11:22 what was actually a 3-2 victory. On

11:25 Friday, the Coconuts 10-8 in a wild one

11:28 with 11 combined runs in that ninth

11:30 inning. And then, the Firefighters hold

11:32 on denying the equalizer point so key

11:35 there in their one victory.

11:36 >> And again, we have talked so much about

11:37 how this Loco Beach Coconuts team really

11:39 knows how to hit. It's proven when you

11:41 see 10 points in a game that doesn't

11:44 even go to showdown tiebreakers. What a

11:46 performance from that squad on Friday

11:49 night and I know they're coming into

11:51 this series feeling awfully dangerous,

11:53 especially seeing how red hot Dane

11:55 Toplin has been lately.

11:57 >> And talking to the Coconuts this week,

11:59 they get revved up to play the Bananas

12:01 more than any team in the sport. So they

12:03 are really thrilled to take on the

12:06 mainstay here in Savannah Ball. Speaking

12:08 of those Nanners, they're warming up on

12:10 the field. Let's check in with Bill

12:11 LeRoy and his crew.

12:13 >> At second base,

12:15 WEARING NUMBER NINE, the doggy man,

12:18 ZACK

12:20 GOLDBERG.

12:25 ALSO AT SECOND BASE, THE greatest

12:27 showman, wearing number eight, JACKSON

12:31 OLSON.

12:33 >> [music]

12:36 >> AT FIRST BASE, wearing number 10, our

12:39 bat trickster AND BALANCE

12:40 EXTRAORDINAIRE, ALEX Ziggy Zigler.

12:48 COMING TO THE MOUND, THE TALLEST MAN IN

12:51 SPORTS, DAKOTA Sil Allbritton.

12:59 And behind the plate, on the mic,

13:01 wearing number one, MYSELF, BILL LEROY.

13:04 >> [screaming]

13:11 [music]

13:19 >> SOMETHING NEW

13:20 IS HAPPENING.

13:21 >> [music]

13:24 >> I GOT IT, I got it,

13:26 I got it. Out of my control.

13:28 Pushing, pulling, and it's out of

13:41 >> [music]

13:49 >> Let's HEAR IT FOR YOUR SAVANNAH BANANAS!

13:58 >> SAVANNAH, GEORGIA.

14:01 GET YOUR HANDS in the air

14:03 and get your spirit fingers wiggling

14:08 because it's time for the most storied

14:12 tradition

14:13 in all of Banana Ball.

14:16 This tradition

14:17 goes all the way back to the very

14:20 beginning.

14:21 2016

14:23 and since that fateful day

14:26 this tradition has brought nothing but

14:30 good vibes and good fortune for the

14:33 Savannah Bananas.

14:34 That's right, ladies and gentlemen. It

14:37 is now time to meet tonight's Banana

14:39 Baby!

14:42 This is Micah.

14:44 He is 4 months old,

14:47 16 lbs,

14:49 and very

14:51 upset that the sun is hitting him in the

14:54 eye.

14:58 Soak it in, Micah.

15:02 And keep the good vibes and the spirit

15:04 fingers going here tonight in Grayson

15:08 Stadium. Give it up ONE MORE TIME,

15:11 LADIES and gentlemen, for tonight's

15:13 Banana Baby,

15:15 Micah!

15:21 Fans, it's time TO GET LOCO.

15:25 Bringing the sunrise, the tan lines, the

15:28 high fives, and good vibes.

15:32 It's time to go crazy for the Loco Beach

15:36 [music] Coconut.

15:41 >> [music]

15:48 [music]

16:10 [music]

16:15 [music]

16:20 [music]

16:25 [music]

16:29 [music]

16:35 [music]

16:41 [music]

16:46 >> It's time to meet the starting lineup

16:49 for the Loco Beach Coconut.

16:52 Starting off in left field, number 10,

16:55 Tanner Allen.

16:58 >> [music]

17:00 >> AT THIRD BASE, it's the great Zane

17:04 Copeland.

17:05 >> All right, and while we're meeting the

17:07 Coconut team, let's catch up with Sam

17:10 Bowman chatting with Ziggy a little

17:12 while ago about his resurgent fifth year

17:15 here in BananaLand.

17:21 Hey guys, look who I found on first

17:22 base, Alex Ziggy Zigler, the designated

17:25 fielder for the Savannah Bananas. You

17:26 might remember he was known as the bat

17:27 trickster, but the guy's making a living

17:29 doing just this, using his glove. He

17:30 can't stop. In fact, Ziggy, what's it

17:32 mean to have kind of rebranded who you

17:34 are and kind of how important it is to

17:36 have you right here on first base?

17:38 >> It's been unreal. You know, I kind of

17:39 pioneered the trick plays at first base

17:41 a couple years ago, and now we got a

17:43 whole bunch of guys doing it. I've been

17:45 doing these trick plays since I was

17:46 about 15 years old with my dad in the

17:47 backyard, and here I am now doing it

17:50 every day with the Bananas.

17:52 >> Now, we talk about that keystone

17:53 connection. It's Ryan Cox over here kind

17:54 of working it in. How comfortable are

17:56 you with this guy throwing you the ball?

17:57 I mean, you put a lot on the line when

17:59 you do this.

18:00 >> I mean, we practice it every single day

18:02 nonstop. This is what we do, and we are

18:04 extremely comfortable together. He knows

18:06 where to throw it. He makes the crazy

18:08 trick plays at at short stop. Here I am

18:10 at first getting his back.

18:12 >> And Ziggy, finally, you see guys like

18:14 Jordan Brewer, who you guys are playing

18:15 tonight, kind of modeling themselves

18:17 after you. Does that kind of raise your

18:18 game, or is there a little inner

18:19 competition like I saw what you can do,

18:21 I'll do it, too?

18:22 >> I mean, I love the competition, but I

18:24 haven't even played a full game yet. I'm

18:26 in the top 10 with trick plays. So,

18:29 give me a chance playing a whole game,

18:31 and I'm just going to keep going.

18:32 >> And he is going to do just that, keep on

18:34 going and going. The guy doesn't stop.

18:37 We can't get enough of the This is a

18:38 really fun part about Banana Ball, but

18:40 there's 11 amazing rules. Jesse Cole's

18:42 going to tell you about them.

18:46 >> Banana Ball is the fastest and most

18:48 entertaining show in sports.

18:50 And the 11 rules guarantee the most

18:52 fan's first experience [music] every

18:54 second.

18:56 >> Welcome to the Banana Ball Championship

18:58 League.

18:59 >> Rule number one, win the inning, win the

19:01 point. The team that [music] scores the

19:03 most runs in an inning wins the point.

19:05 >> It's a

19:06 walk-off winner!

19:07 >> Tie game!

19:09 >> Oh my goodness!

19:11 >> With the equalizer point, trick plays

19:13 provide the away team an opportunity to

19:15 earn a point going into the final

19:16 inning.

19:17 And in the final inning, every run

19:19 counts as a point.

19:21 Rule number two, Banana Ball has a

19:23 two-hour time limit. Guaranteed that

19:26 every game is fast-paced and

19:28 action-packed.

19:29 Rule number three,

19:30 >> [music]

19:30 >> no stepping out of the batter's box. If

19:32 you do, it will result in a strike.

19:38 Rule number four, no bunting. [music]

19:41 Cuz bunting sucks. If you bunt, you'll

19:43 be thrown out of the game. Rule number

19:45 five, [music]

19:46 batters can steal first base.

19:52 Rule number six, there's no walks.

19:54 [music]

19:55 Walks are ball four sprints. The batter

19:57 can advance as far as they want until

19:59 every position player touches the ball.

20:08 Rule number seven,

20:10 no mound visits.

20:11 >> [music]

20:12 >> Nope.

20:13 Rule number eight, foul balls caught by

20:15 a fan count as an out.

20:22 >> [music]

20:23 >> Rule number nine, the showdown. In

20:26 showdowns, the best of the best face

20:28 [music] off in the biggest moment. One

20:30 hitter versus one pitcher with one

20:32 fielder behind him. And the hitter has

20:34 to score.

20:40 Rule number 10, the Banana Ball

20:41 Challenge Rule gives the coaches and you

20:44 the fans a chance to impact a call on

20:46 the field.

20:48 Rule number 11, the Golden Batter. Once

20:51 a game, each team can get any player in

20:53 the back regardless of the lineup. This

20:55 offers the biggest matchups on the

20:57 biggest stage.

21:09 >> And those [music] are the rules of

21:12 Banana Ball.

21:16 Thank you very much, Mr. Jesse Cole. And

21:19 welcome back into beautiful historic

21:21 Grayson Stadium. We are about 15 minutes

21:24 shy of first pitch. A seven-game weekend

21:27 on the docket as the Young Professor

21:29 blesses the folks here with the rules of

21:31 Banana Ball that Jesse just gave us. And

21:33 speaking of Mr. Cole, he's not with us

21:35 tonight because of course he's in

21:36 Indianapolis with the Indianapolis

21:39 Clowns. Their first ever headliner

21:41 series, two games against the Party

21:43 Animals. Cannot wait to see how it goes.

21:45 And here you can take a look at what

21:46 tomorrow night looks like in Banana

21:49 Ball. A triple header for us.

21:50 >> Yeah, it's going to be really exciting.

21:52 And that Clowns and Party Animals game

21:55 is really going to be must-watch Banana

21:57 Ball. It's going to be very special for

22:00 Eric Fox, Correlle Prime, Bobby LaDay,

22:02 so many of these guys who have emerged

22:04 as leaders on this Indianapolis Clowns

22:06 team. And look, not only do they get to

22:08 play as the home team, but we saw them

22:11 as the away team get that upset victory

22:13 in their very first game against the

22:15 Party Animals. So, I think they want to

22:17 make another statement against the boys

22:19 in black and pink tomorrow night.

22:21 >> Yeah, it's going to be a heck of a

22:23 weekend. And then the Firefighters and

22:25 Tailgaters, they've only played two

22:26 games this year. They're tied at a game

22:29 each and they're currently tied for

22:30 second place, both of them at 10 and 9

22:32 on the season, two and a half games

22:34 behind the Bananas or 12 and 6. That's a

22:36 fascinating series, too.

22:37 >> And and the beauty of Banana Ball is all

22:39 of those games have been incredibly

22:41 close, even including the one in the

22:42 Banana Ball Open that sent the Texas

22:45 Tailgaters into that final series

22:47 against the Savannah Bananas and helped

22:49 them clinch a playoff spot already.

22:51 >> And as you can see, the Banana Band

22:53 leading the Cast and Crew through the

22:55 parade, a full capacity crowd in

22:58 historic Grayson Stadium. We'll let the

22:59 sights and scenes take it away as we're

23:02 about 10 shy of first pitch.

23:11 >> [music]

23:19 [music]

23:24 [music]

23:32 [music]

23:40 [music]

23:49 [music]

23:57 [music]

24:06 >> That was fun getting to check in on the

24:08 Banana Nanas, the band, the Man Nanas,

24:10 the cast and crew. This is bringing me

24:13 back to throwback broadcast pregame

24:16 action here on the Bananas YouTube

24:18 channel as we welcome you back inside.

24:20 He's the statistical savant of Banana

24:22 Ball, Josh Chelewski. I am Biko Skala. I

24:24 just do the rest of the talking.

24:27 And it is really a fun one on the docket

24:29 here tonight. Coconuts Bananas. And

24:31 speaking of this local beach team,

24:34 they've got some trick play leaders.

24:35 Jordan Brewer one of them. Sal Giaccomo

24:38 another currently on the bench tonight.

24:40 But, J.D. Ursso getting a start here

24:43 this evening. And it's going to be

24:45 really fun to see what the Tampa kid can

24:48 do defensively. He teamed up with Peyton

24:50 Shottanney and A.J. Swiatek a little

24:52 while ago. Let's hear what they had to

24:53 say.

24:57 The beach is ready to take over Grayson

24:58 Stadium. I'm AJ Swyteck joined by the

25:00 middle infield here for the Loco Beach

25:02 Coconut's Peyton Shotwell,

25:04 JD Erso. Peyton, starting with you,

25:05 everything's been clicking up the

25:07 middle. What's it like knowing you have

25:08 a myriad of options on the other side of

25:10 the bag to help you out with trick

25:12 plays?

25:12 >> Yeah, you're completely right. That's

25:14 what's so cool about this team,

25:15 seriously, is like literally anybody can

25:17 play over there. Um we have confidence

25:19 in in all of them. Um

25:21 and I think that's probably credit to

25:22 our coaches for keeping us in check and

25:24 and doing really really good job in the

25:25 off-season. But man, yeah, we have all

25:27 the confidence in JD. It's going to be a

25:28 lot of fun to watch him today.

25:29 >> JD, you've kept your nose down, you've

25:31 been grinding. Now you get your chance

25:32 at second base. What's the gratitude

25:33 you're feeling?

25:34 >> Yeah, it's awesome, especially to play

25:36 both sides of the game. You know,

25:37 sometimes you're only hitting and you

25:38 put a little more pressure on those

25:40 at-bats. So, today just looking forward

25:41 to going out on the field, playing both

25:43 sides of the game, and just helping my

25:44 team any way I can.

25:45 >> Peyton, you're a guy who has experience

25:47 playing both second base and shortstop

25:49 from your college playing career now to

25:50 here. Does that knowledge help you turn

25:52 double plays with guys on the other side

25:54 of the sack?

25:55 >> Yeah, absolutely. Even times I'll go

25:56 over there during practice just so I can

25:57 get a feel for like exactly where I

25:59 would want to feed if I was over at

26:00 short or if I was playing second, if I

26:02 was one of those guys, where would I

26:03 want to, you know, the feed, same type

26:04 of thing. Um and truly all of all of us

26:07 are just athletes, so we can play

26:08 anywhere. JD could pop over to short at

26:10 some point in this game, it wouldn't

26:10 even matter.

26:11 >> And then finally, JD, it's all about

26:13 love, it's what we're spreading all

26:14 across the nation. What's your message

26:15 to the fans who are going to get their

26:17 first look at Loco Beach tonight?

26:19 >> Yeah, coming here to Savannah, our first

26:20 home game, uh you know, technically the

26:22 away team, but home game for us because

26:24 we're bringing the beach to everyone

26:26 here. A lot of people going to show up

26:27 in yellow and leave in some teal today,

26:29 baby.

26:30 >> We're bringing the beach, we're bringing

26:31 the teal, and we're bringing the love to

26:32 you. Back up to you, Biko and Josh.

26:38 >> Thank you very much, AJ. Take a look at

26:40 what the Coconut's did last weekend

26:42 trick play-wise. 28 for 29, that's

26:45 pretty darn impressive. They went 25 for

26:47 25, that's still the most trick plays on

26:50 a weekend without missing one. That was

26:52 just a few weeks ago against the

26:53 Tailgaters in a series they took two out

26:55 of three in. And then you see the

26:56 Bananas are the only other team this

26:58 year who has even had a series without

27:00 missing a trick play.

27:01 >> I mean the thing that makes this match

27:02 up so intriguing is that it's two of the

27:04 trickiest teams in Banana Ball and

27:06 they're so successful at doing so and

27:09 the Coconuts a weekend ago saw seven

27:11 trick plays from Peyton Shah

27:13 on Friday night, a new franchise record.

27:16 He was the guy who really led the way

27:17 for them and you don't want to forget

27:19 about Jordan Brewer's impact at first

27:21 base. 40 trick plays this season and

27:24 he's had one in every single game this

27:27 season except for one.

27:29 >> Unbelievable stuff from Jordan Brewer.

27:32 Meanwhile, we touched on this record

27:34 from the Coconuts 25 trick plays zero

27:36 missed against the Texas Tailgaters. The

27:38 Bananas, when they played against the

27:40 Tailgaters in Navasota High School in

27:42 College Station, Texas, did not miss a

27:45 single trick play in that series. So,

27:48 the the slightest missed trick play in

27:50 this contest could really loom large

27:52 when it comes to the potential of an

27:55 equalizer point hinging tonight.

27:57 >> Yeah, it's so much more impressive when

27:59 you think about this Coconuts team has

28:01 19 rookies on it and they've been this

28:03 impressive when it comes to trick plays.

28:05 All right, let's get a little more fired

28:07 up. For that, we get it on down to the

28:09 Young Professor for our hype intro.

28:14 >> Ladies,

28:15 gentlemen, boys and girls and Batassium

28:18 enthusiasts from around the world,

28:20 tonight you and thousands of your

28:22 friends here live and millions more

28:24 watching at home have gathered here to

28:27 witness something [music]

28:28 beyond your wildest imagination.

28:31 From Montana

28:33 to Savannah, from the Isle of Man to

28:36 Tokyo, Japan, the Banana Maniacs come

28:39 from across the globe to witness this.

28:42 This is not baseball. This is the

28:46 crucible where the fastest, hungriest,

28:49 and [music] most entertaining players

28:51 are forged. This is a game of the fans,

28:54 by the fans,

28:56 and for the fans. But, this is not your

29:00 granddad's pastime. This is not just

29:03 another [music] night at the ballpark.

29:05 This game is baseball by birth, fruit by

29:09 name, and an absolute worldwide

29:11 phenomenon by THE GRACE OF GOD. This is

29:15 the time [music] for all 5,500

29:18 people here in historic Grayson STADIUM

29:21 TO GET ON YOUR FEET

29:23 >> [music]

29:23 >> AND GIVE me your voices.

29:29 Because this is the greatest show in the

29:33 sports. Ladies and gentlemen, THIS IS

29:36 BANANA BALL.

29:40 IT IS TIME TO MEET THE starting lineup

29:43 for your Savannah Bananas.

29:48 Leading off, the extra hitter number

29:50 five, D.R. "The Doc" Meadows.

29:58 >> [music]

30:00 >> The left fielder number 15, we call him

30:03 "Rack" [music]

30:03 Robert Anthony Cruz.

30:09 DH number 19, Dan

30:13 Oberle.

30:18 >> [music]

30:19 >> In center field number two, Reese

30:22 "Superman"

30:24 Alexiades.

30:27 >> [music]

30:29 >> Third baseman number four, Ryan "KJ"

30:33 Jackson.

30:35 >> [music]

30:39 >> Behind the plate, numero uno,

30:42 Bill Leroy.

30:45 >> [music]

30:52 >> At shortstop number six, he's our glove

30:54 magician, Ryan

30:57 Cox.

31:00 Right fielder number seven, Ty Jackson.

31:06 >> [music]

31:09 >> At second base number eight, our

31:11 greatest showman, Jackson

31:15 Olson.

31:19 And at first base [music] number nine,

31:21 Matt Olson

31:23 Goldberry.

31:27 On the mound for your Savannah Bananas

31:29 tonight, number 11,

31:31 >> [music]

31:31 >> Austin Drury.

31:36 Your Savannah Bananas are led by Tyler

31:38 Gilliam, assisted by Adam Peacock,

31:41 Ryan Kellogg, Eric Stover, and the

31:45 legend Reggie

31:47 Horton.

31:52 >> [music]

31:57 [music]

32:03 [music]

32:04 >> Ladies and gentlemen, at this time we

32:07 ask that you please rise if you're able

32:09 and remove your caps.

32:11 Here to honor America with the singing

32:13 of tonight's national anthem,

32:15 please welcome to the field

32:18 Emma Charleston.

32:26 >> Oh,

32:27 say can

32:28 you see

32:30 by the dawn's

32:32 early

32:35 light what so

32:37 we hailed

32:40 at the twilight's

32:42 last gleaming?

32:45 Whose broad stripes and bright stars

32:49 through the perilous

32:52 fight or the ramparts

32:56 we watched

32:58 were so gallantly

33:01 streaming?

33:03 And the rockets'

33:05 red glare,

33:08 the bombs bursting

33:10 in air,

33:12 gave proof through the night

33:15 >> [singing]

33:17 >> that our flag

33:18 was still there.

33:22 Oh, say

33:23 does that star-spangled

33:28 banner

33:30 yet wave?

33:33 O'er the land

33:36 of the free

33:38 >> [screaming]

33:40 >> and the home

33:44 of the

33:46 brave.

33:48 >> Ladies and gentlemen, I'm Al Charles

33:50 Townson.

33:54 Wonderful rendition of the national

33:56 anthem

33:58 and we get ourselves the third ever

34:01 meeting between the Loco Beach Coconut's

34:04 here in their first year as a franchise

34:06 and the Savannah Bananas, the mainstay

34:09 of the sport here in year 11.

34:12 The Nanners 12 and 6, a two and a half

34:15 game lead over the Tailgaters and

34:17 Firefighters for first place. The

34:19 Coconut's 10 and 10, the most games

34:22 played in the sport this year, three

34:25 games back of the Bananas currently

34:27 sitting in fourth place.

34:30 And a heck of a battle on the docket

34:34 here tonight. Take a look at the

34:36 defensive alignment for the Nanners.

34:38 Left to right in their outfield, it's

34:39 Robert Anthony Cruz, Reece Register, and

34:41 Ty Jackson. Third to first in the

34:43 infield, Kyle Jackson, Ryan Cox, Jackson

34:46 Olson, and Maxi Goldberg. Bill Leroy

34:48 behind the plate, and Danny Hasley, his

34:51 first game as the designated fielder

34:53 this year.

34:53 >> Yeah, your eyes do not deceive you. It's

34:55 Danny Doonan who's getting the start at

34:57 designated fielder. He should spend the

34:58 majority of time in right field for Ty

35:01 Jackson. Tyler Gillman, Adam Byron, they

35:03 think the coconuts are going to hit a

35:05 lot of fly balls in tonight's contest.

35:07 So, they're banking on having Hasley out

35:09 there, who they say is just about

35:11 automatic when it comes to his trick

35:13 plays as an outfielder. And meanwhile,

35:15 Ryan Cox in four games in the month of

35:18 May has three trick plays in each of

35:21 them. He has been red hot lately, but

35:23 he's got to cut down on a couple miscues

35:26 as we saw two errors from Coxy last

35:29 weekend. That led the walk-offs for the

35:31 Party Animals.

35:32 >> And I'll tell you what, with Hasley as

35:34 the designated fielder, Alex Ziegler is

35:36 in the building tonight. I think you

35:38 could bet on a specialty walk-up for the

35:40 Zigster, the Bananas Bat Trickster.

35:42 That'll be fun to see. We haven't got to

35:44 see him swing the stick too much this

35:46 year because he's been so gosh darn good

35:48 with the glove. In the middle of it all

35:50 for the Nanners, their fourth overall

35:53 draft pick, the first rounder, Mr.

35:55 Austin Drury, comes to Bananaland with

35:57 eight years of professional baseball

35:58 experience, five

36:00 >> of them in the Los Angeles Dodgers

36:01 organization. And as you can see, the

36:03 numbers speak for themselves. Three

36:05 wins, tied for the most in the sport. 25

36:08 and 2/3 innings, the most on the

36:09 Bananas. And a 3.86 ERA is fantastic.

36:11 >> Yeah, this is the ninth start of his

36:13 rookie campaign. And after the Bananas

36:14 won each of his first six regular season

36:16 starts, they've lost each of his last

36:19 two. So, he's trying to right the ship

36:21 tonight, but he was very strong against

36:23 the coconuts in San Diego. Four

36:25 scoreless innings and average three outs

36:27 in three minutes and 28 seconds.

36:30 >> And how about this Loco Beach Coconuts

36:32 lineup? They have been so much fun to

36:34 watch this year. Tanner Allen at the

36:36 top, then Dane Toplin, your defending

36:38 player of the week, Ben Parker. Those

36:40 are two of the five guys hitting 400 or

36:43 better back-to-back in this order.

36:45 Jordan Brewer cleaning it up, then Eric

36:47 Osborne, Gideon Antell, Ashby Vining, JD

36:49 Urso, Grady Morgan, and Peyton

36:51 Shottanier to round it out. The first

36:53 four right-handed batters in this lineup

36:55 are extremely dangerous. Toplin, Parker,

36:57 Brewer, Antell all having phenomenal

36:59 seasons and Dane Toplin coming off of

37:02 being named the Banana Ball Player of

37:03 the Week. Six for 12 last weekend with

37:07 three home runs.

37:08 >> Let's get it on down to the field. The

37:10 Young Professor is about to make sure we

37:13 start this clock. Young Prof.

37:27 >> Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the

37:29 moment you have all been waiting for.

37:31 When I count to three, I need everyone

37:33 here, AS LOUD AS YOU CAN, to say start

37:37 the clock. In 1 2 3.

37:43 SHOWTIME.

37:46 >> LEADING OFF WITH the 5,500 fans on hand

37:49 making up the 557th

37:52 straight sold-out crowd in Bananaland.

37:55 Tanner Allen

37:56 fouling off the first offering from

37:58 Austin Drury and we are away. Allen 5

38:01 for 16 last weekend against the

38:02 Firefighters, a triple and a double.

38:05 His four home runs tied for the team

38:07 lead. His four triples leading everybody

38:10 in the sport. Same goes for his 14

38:13 extra-base hits and 56 total bases. You

38:16 can't ask for much more from the

38:18 Coconuts second rounder.

38:19 >> Yeah, he has been unbelievable.

38:21 Currently riding a five-game hit streak

38:23 as well for Loco Beach, and they love

38:26 batting him in this lead-off spot. The

38:28 eighth time when he's been slotted first

38:30 in the order.

38:33 See if this is playable. Nope, into the

38:35 seats. First opportunity for the fans

38:37 who have gone six games in Savannah this

38:39 year without catching a foul ball for an

38:42 out.

38:43 I implored them in the party plaza.

38:46 Let's make a change, folks.

38:48 Let's see.

38:49 Can we turn this thing around?

38:56 What a ballgame for the fans to make

38:57 their mark.

38:59 As the count evens at twos on TA.

39:11 Swing and a miss. Tied up on the

39:13 fastball. Allen back to the dugout.

39:16 Drury, his first cat. And Drury just

39:18 continued to stick to gas against Tanner

39:21 Allen, just going power on power against

39:23 the big left-hander. And for AB, that's

39:26 something he didn't experience a weekend

39:28 ago in Atlanta, Georgia. He did not

39:31 strike out a single party animal across

39:34 four credited innings. We got ourselves

39:36 an Al sighting. Dane Toplin coming from

39:39 the bus. Expecting some precipitation?

39:45 Good to see the legendary

39:47 bananas and now banana ball bus driver

39:50 Al featured. Ah, okay, it's Fortnite.

39:52 Yeah, that makes sense.

39:53 >> the battle bus, my friends. He's

39:55 dropping into the island.

39:56 >> Where we dropping, boys? Did not realize

39:58 Al was the driver of the battle bus.

40:02 I hope Dane thanked them.

40:09 Looks like he likes his weapon.

40:14 Oh, no.

40:16 Oh, no.

40:18 Zack Smith.

40:19 hacked and he is down.

40:24 >> Wow, getting emoted on. Blake Benson

40:26 joining in on the fun.

40:29 Get that guy a chug jug.

40:31 >> [laughter]

40:32 >> This is the original skin here for Dane

40:34 Toplin, too. Oh, he's about to get some

40:35 shield.

40:40 It smells delicious.

40:41 Some original?

40:44 That's That's 50 points of shield right

40:46 there.

40:48 Original actually comes with a times two

40:49 multiplier. Oh, wow.

40:52 It's true.

40:53 I heard that's coming in the update.

40:55 Okay. All right. Take a look at the

40:57 numbers. It's video game stuff so far

41:00 for the Great Dane.

41:02 Here is his first year in the sport as

41:03 the fastball gets the inside corner.

41:10 He is my pick for steal of the inaugural

41:12 Banana Ball player draft. 55th overall

41:15 in the seventh round out of Grand

41:18 Prairie, Alberta, Canada.

41:21 Drury had one and two now.

41:25 Six for 12 with three homers and a

41:27 double last weekend.

41:29 Seven runs driven in as that fastball

41:31 misses down and in. And on a 20-game

41:34 on-base streak to start his Banana Ball

41:36 career. I mean, there is a nobody who

41:38 has been as consistent as Dane Toplin

41:40 who swings through the heater from

41:43 Austin Drury. AND NOW IT'S DRURY HITTING

41:46 SOME FORTNITE MOVES ON THE PITCHER, MAN,

41:48 TO CELEBRATE THE K.

41:52 Uh AD.

41:54 He's got the gas early on tonight. Good

41:57 old country hardball.

41:59 Hit it if you can.

42:01 >> [laughter]

42:01 >> He's doing his best. He He could maybe

42:04 learn a thing or two from Rack.

42:06 >> I don't remember seeing that in the

42:07 Fortnite shop, but okay.

42:09 Oh, how How that? Will Ethridge got the

42:11 pickle going on in the background?

42:16 What a night for Banana Ball. Ben Parker

42:18 digs in.

42:20 Talk about video game numbers.

42:22 As he expands the zone and is behind one

42:25 and two hitting 412. Team leading 529 on

42:29 base percentage.

42:33 Popped out to right. Danny Hosley has

42:35 that designated fielder. Behind the back

42:37 comes up empty. Parker can really fly.

42:40 He's already around second.

42:42 And he's going to get a stop sign from

42:44 Mark Crocco. Three base trick play

42:46 missed.

42:48 The first trick play missed in four

42:50 attempts this year from Danny Do It All.

42:52 And the Coconuts after two Ks golden

42:55 opportunity

42:57 to strike first. Yeah, awfully

42:59 surprising to see from Danny Hosley. You

43:02 see the sun shining on him.

43:04 He's got a lot of shadows that he's

43:06 playing with in right field making

43:08 things incredibly tricky for the Bananas

43:10 designated fielder. And now Jordan

43:13 Brewer up at the plate, a very dangerous

43:15 man tied for second on tour with 24 runs

43:19 batted in and dribbles this one to AB

43:21 who turns, fires, and in time to Max

43:24 Young Goldberg at first base. Despite

43:27 the trick play missed, it's a shut out

43:29 frame for AB in 4 minutes and 3 seconds.

43:34 Well, exactly what the Bananas wanted to

43:36 see out of their ace. He picks up his

43:38 right fielder.

43:40 As you get another look at the athletic

43:43 play from Austin Drury hopping off the

43:46 mound and getting a strike over to MJG.

43:52 A goose egg for the Coconuts. Here's

43:54 their defensive alignment left to right

43:56 in the outfield. TA, Grady Morgan, and

43:59 Mr. Antell third to first in the

44:00 infield. Tofflemire, Shatatny, Urso, and

44:03 Brewer with Vining handling the

44:05 catching. Well, Brewer's going to be the

44:06 difference maker in this game for Loco

44:08 Beach. Again, he has a trick play in

44:10 every single game this season aside from

44:13 one. Currently on an 11-game trick play

44:15 streak for the coconuts. Meanwhile,

44:18 Grady Morgan had his first two trick

44:20 plays of the season last weekend and now

44:22 he draws his first career banana ball

44:25 start in center field. This is awfully

44:27 exciting for the rookie banana ball

44:29 player. And in the middle of it all,

44:32 it's the 6-5 righty and number two

44:35 overall draft pick, the first rounder

44:37 Drake Fano

44:39 out of Bosher, Louisiana. Six years of

44:42 college finished with three years at

44:43 Delta State where he was the Gulf South

44:45 Conference pitcher of the year last

44:47 spring. And though it was a rocky start

44:49 to his coconuts career, he is settling

44:50 in wonderfully leading the team with

44:52 those 23 and 2/3 innings pitched and the

44:54 4.18 ERA keeps getting lower.

44:57 >> And in his last start, 4 and 2/3 innings

44:59 pitched, only allowed one hit, an

45:01 unearned run, and struck out two guys.

45:03 Averaging three outs in 2 minutes and 41

45:06 seconds. He was working quicker than he

45:08 had all season long.

45:10 >> Yeah, heck of an outing from Fano. As

45:12 you get a quick look at the bananas

45:13 starting lineup, the doctor the only man

45:16 truly due to swing it here in the first,

45:18 just in case he has his second home run

45:20 of the season.

45:25 And then it's Rack Overst, Alexiades, KJ

45:28 LeRoy Cox,

45:30 Ty Olson, and Young Goldberg to round it

45:33 out.

45:36 So, Drury in the Bananas defense

45:38 put the pressure on Drake Fano.

45:41 Nice front door bender

45:43 to start his evening.

45:45 DR hitting 351

45:48 here in his fourth world tour as he does

45:51 not bite

45:52 on that fantastic slider from Fano, part

45:54 of a four-pitch mix.

45:58 Liner past Toplin into left.

46:02 And DR sets the table, inning winning

46:04 run aboard three pitches into the bottom

46:06 of the first.

46:07 >> And that's the start that the Bananas

46:09 desperately need from DR Meadows. Has

46:11 not had a lot of success batting in the

46:12 first inning of play this season,

46:14 actually batting below 200, but stayed

46:17 through that banana ball. Was almost

46:19 nearly too early on it and said a

46:21 lead-off single in the left. And JT

46:23 Sakalou is back and healthy for the

46:26 Bananas and the designated runner now at

46:28 first.

46:29 >> Sike.

46:30 >> for sore eyes for the Nanners.

46:32 Sakalou,

46:33 the designated runner after Malcom Metro

46:36 held down the position for 5 years.

46:39 And he only got to play in four games

46:40 this year as he's promptly picked off.

46:42 In a pickle. He is speedy as they come.

46:45 Shota Ye in the driver's seat. Now

46:47 Fontanou trying to track him down.

46:49 Sakalou, oh boy, avoids Fontanou. Tag

46:52 from Brewer and a tackle from Brewer at

46:55 that as Sakalou

46:58 his first time out on the bases since

47:01 March March 14th in the Super Dome and

47:03 it ends very quickly.

47:06 >> Yeah, just trying to be a spark plug for

47:08 the Savannah Bananas. Instead, it is an

47:10 early base running blunder for their

47:13 rookie designated runner.

47:16 And now the bases empty again. Robert

47:19 Anthony Cruz ahead though 2-1. And

47:21 Sakalou the first runner picked off in

47:23 Fontanou's banana ball career. Nice time

47:25 for it.

47:27 Takes the inning winning run off the

47:28 bases as Rack swings through a nasty

47:31 changeup.

47:33 Got to look out for sinker, slider,

47:35 curve, and that change as it's another

47:38 changeup, another swing and a miss. And

47:40 Fontanou boogying on the bump,

47:42 celebrating his first punchout.

47:46 Well, the Coconuts, if they did their

47:48 homework, know that that two-strike

47:50 changeup can really pay massive

47:52 dividends against Robert Anthony Cruz.

47:55 You've seen Brett Helton, Garrett

47:56 Delano, a lot of find a lot of success

47:58 against Cruz throwing that pitch in that

48:01 situation. And now Faltine comes away

48:03 with his first strikeout of the night

48:06 and misses high and outside to Dan

48:08 Oberst. Danny O, that .385 batting

48:10 average you see, best on the Bananas as

48:13 he chops this one to short. No play.

48:17 Infield single for Oberst who paced the

48:19 Bananas with six hits through 14 at-bats

48:23 last weekend in Atlanta.

48:25 And that was up to a team-leading 26

48:28 hits for the Savannah Bananas this

48:30 season. And how about Peyton Shah-Tonya?

48:33 That is incredibly impressive that he

48:35 did this little tip feed to Dane Toplin

48:38 trying to potentially gun down the

48:40 Bananas DH. And it still goes down as a

48:43 single with the speed from Oberst.

48:46 Well, and Dan is off. Vining's throw off

48:49 line into center field. Oberst in

48:51 about-face and he'll scamper over to

48:53 third

48:54 after the third error of the year on

48:57 Ashby Vining.

48:58 Means the inning-winning run is now just

49:00 90 ft away.

49:02 And all of a sudden

49:04 this is a spooky inning. 2-0 count on

49:07 Reece Alexiades. And look, this is

49:09 certainly a strategy for the Bananas

49:10 this week and they ran all over the Loco

49:13 Beach Coconuts in San Diego. Had

49:15 double-digit stolen bases against this

49:17 squad. And now if Faltine cannot locate

49:20 here against Reece Alexiades, it's an

49:22 early point for the Nanners as that's

49:25 ball four. Alexiades earns the sprint

49:28 and Oberst with help from his base

49:30 running plates point number one for the

49:33 Bananas back here in Grayson Stadium.

49:37 Well, exactly what this Nanners needed

49:39 as they try and slow down their skid.

49:43 Still 12 and six on the season. The

49:45 number one team in the sport.

49:48 But coming out of this Banana Ball Open

49:51 they've lost four out of five games,

49:54 all of them as the away team,

49:56 and one inning in as the home team,

49:59 in which they have been seven

50:02 and one on the season.

50:05 And it's exactly

50:07 what the fellas in the yellow pinstripes

50:09 needed. And you take a look

50:11 in this Banana Ball Championship League,

50:13 best MPI as the home team, best ERA,

50:16 fewest amount of ball four sprints, and

50:18 the best strikeout rate as well.

50:20 >> Yeah, you've just seen when this team

50:21 gets to start with the ball from the

50:23 get-go, their pitchers just feel a lot

50:26 more confident. To see that earned run

50:28 average below five, the tour average

50:31 right now is 6.8.

50:33 That is an unbelievably impressive mark,

50:35 and you see them stay in the zone so

50:37 much better as the home team as well.

50:39 >> And I tell you what, as good as the

50:40 Bananas have been as the home squad, the

50:43 Coconuts have been the best team in the

50:44 sport as the away team. Most hits and

50:47 most extra base hits. And take a look at

50:48 that, plus 13 point point differential.

50:51 >> Well, being able to score so many points

50:53 in the ninth inning the other night

50:54 against the Firefighters certainly helps

50:56 with that point differential.

50:58 Nonetheless, this team just flat-out

51:00 rakes. 55 extra base hits for this squad

51:03 when they play as the away team, and

51:05 nobody has won more games as that away

51:08 team than Loco Beach with eight of them.

51:11 >> A point earned for Austin Drury

51:14 after he picked up a pair of Ks and

51:16 pitched around the two-out trick play

51:18 missed to put up a scoreless first

51:20 inning. And now it's Eric Osberg, Gideon

51:23 Antell, and Ashby Vining due to swing it

51:25 to kick off the second.

51:28 And a really fun battle here. Osberg,

51:30 seven years of minor league baseball

51:32 experience in the Rays organization,

51:35 making it a combined 12 years of

51:38 affiliated ball between pitcher and

51:40 hitter here.

51:47 And as the fastball just misses up.

51:50 Hunter eyes the home plate umpire here

51:52 to kick off this three-game set.

51:58 >> Jam shot, foul territory. LeRoy in

52:00 pursuit.

52:03 And a catch

52:05 to open up this second frame.

52:09 Well, the Bananas really haven't had

52:11 much opportunity for trick plays yet

52:13 here tonight. We're still that one in

52:15 the second inning. LeRoy, you see him

52:18 having to take a last step back to try

52:20 and haul in that banana ball. And then

52:22 you consider two case for Austin Drury

52:25 and with a guy on third base, he didn't

52:26 want to take any chances making that

52:28 final out. Now it's time to see if Antel

52:32 hits into the first trick play for the

52:33 Bananas tonight.

52:35 >> Great numbers for Gideon. Two and a half

52:37 months into his banana ball career, he's

52:39 hitting .362.

52:43 .430 on base percentage, .565 slug.

52:46 That's that. Four or three four five

52:49 slash line that you dream of as a

52:51 hitter.

52:53 And for the Coconuts, or Crocos, 10th

52:55 round draft pick, another fantastic

52:57 steal. And he's started every game in

52:59 right field for Loco Beach this season.

53:02 [music]

53:02 Just an unbelievable athlete who gets

53:06 into this one and fists it out to left

53:09 field and that one will land fair. Rack

53:11 trying to slide and make the grab

53:14 will wind up throwing this one in and

53:16 it's a stand-up double for Gideon Antel.

53:19 Looked like Rack was trying to say that

53:21 it left fair territory and skipped over

53:24 the wall, was a ground rule double.

53:26 >> Yeah, it might have bounced off of the

53:28 foul pole, actually.

53:30 That's what it looked like to me on

53:32 the live shot. Couldn't really tell on

53:34 the replay.

53:35 So, Gideon with the first knock

53:38 for the Coconuts.

53:44 And another runner in scoring position.

53:45 Ashby Vining trying to cash in. 2025

53:48 visitor from Savannah Bananas

53:50 developmental team

53:52 to second round draft pick.

54:02 That's a sword. Check down to first.

54:04 Yes, Kelly Don confirms Vining not able

54:07 to hold up. Nasty bender from Dreary as

54:10 he's got three strikeouts now.

54:12 >> Yeah, and that one coming on three

54:14 pitches for AD. You see the strikeout

54:17 stuff back for the left-hander. Only

54:19 struck out two coconuts in his first

54:22 start in San Diego. Already with three

54:25 tonight.

54:28 >> Up to 31 on the year. Trying to hunt

54:30 down Brett Sanchez and Chris Clark tied

54:33 at 35 a piece for the tour lead.

54:35 Fantastic

54:37 pitching trio with Christian Davis for

54:39 the Texas Tailgaters as it's a ball and

54:41 a strike on JD Urso. Only got two plate

54:44 appearances a couple weekends ago and

54:47 ball four sprints

54:49 in his last game played offensively

54:52 against the Party Animals. Did not swing

54:54 the bat last weekend in Wichita. This

54:56 one's fair! Down the right field line

54:58 and excuse me swing and he's going to

55:01 trade places with Antel as the Coconuts

55:03 have a run here in the second.

55:08 >> This is only the fourth start of the

55:11 season for JD Urso and he picks up his

55:14 fourth hit of 2026. A big opposite field

55:18 knock for the rookie out of Tampa,

55:21 Florida. Putting Loco Beach on the board

55:23 in the second.

55:30 >> And naturally Adonna Benitez led run

55:33 celebration

55:35 with Jacobo and Krem to support as you

55:37 get another look. Heck of a piece of

55:39 hitting for Urso. Three for 13 on the

55:41 year coming in, make it four for 14 now.

55:45 But a 444 on base percentage, that's

55:47 going to shoot up. And again, the

55:48 playing time has been kind of sparse for

55:50 J.D. Urso, but in all of his starts this

55:53 season, he has had a hit for the Loco

55:55 Beach Coconuts. He's trying to get more

55:57 Craco reason to continue to slot him in

56:00 offensively.

56:04 And we'll now count on Grady Morgan.

56:07 Just like Urso who leads off second,

56:08 another one of Mark Craco's 2025

56:11 visitors. You had to expect he was going

56:13 to bring as many of his guys back as he

56:15 could.

56:16 Nabbed him in the 10th round.

56:18 Kid out of Laguna Beach, California.

56:21 Takes the big bender in there and as he

56:23 falls behind 1-2.

56:29 And the Duncan donut hitter goes down

56:31 swinging. Three donuts

56:34 for the fans here in Savannah on A.D.'s

56:37 fourth K of the night.

56:39 But a run across on the two doubles from

56:42 Antel and Urso

56:44 as the Coconuts have a chance to even

56:45 this game. We'll get it back down to the

56:47 field.

56:58 >> And down to the field we go. First base

57:00 side, Young Professor.

57:02 Here in Bananaland, we love love and

57:05 maybe more than that. We love putting

57:07 love to the test, which is exactly what

57:10 we are going to do right here and right

57:11 now. Because I have two couples. I've

57:13 got Michael and Michael here and I've

57:15 got Breanna and Emma Emma over there.

57:17 And here's what's going to happen. When

57:18 I say go, these fellows are going to

57:20 take off from first base. They have to

57:21 run to second base, pick up their wives

57:23 in their arm, run with them over to

57:25 third base where they have to switch and

57:28 the ladies are going to have to finish

57:29 it out. This This called swept off your

57:32 feet. Fellas, let's turn around. Let's

57:34 lock in here

57:36 and get ready because on your mark, GET

57:38 SET, GO!

57:41 THEY'RE OFF. MICHAEL AND Michael neck

57:43 and neck here. Picking up the ladies.

57:46 Michael and Brianna have the Oh!

57:48 They're both down. Good hands. Good

57:50 hands.

57:52 Good recovery. Now things get

57:54 interesting. There goes Emma.

57:57 And here comes Brianna.

57:59 Emma with THE STRONGEST LEG TIE I HAVE

58:01 ever seen.

58:03 A blowout victory in swept off your

58:06 feet. Give it up for your winners,

58:07 Michael and

58:09 Emma.

58:13 >> Impressive work

58:15 from that promo WINNING COUPLE. OH,

58:18 NO.

58:25 YIKES.

58:27 OH MAN, that's going to be a tough car

58:29 ride home.

58:30 >> Goodnight.

58:33 >> Kyle Jackson

58:34 leads off the home half of the second.

58:36 Coconuts have a run.

58:38 Bananas lead the game one point to

58:39 nothing. You can see KJ hitting 357 with

58:42 a 1.151

58:44 OPS.

58:45 The OPS leading the Bananas.

58:48 He's tied for the team lead with his

58:50 four homers. He's pacing the squad with

58:51 10 extra base hits.

58:54 And as he picked up a pair of them this

58:55 past weekend in Atlanta. Only two for

58:57 nine, but a homer and a double.

59:01 His second full world tour, his third

59:03 overall after he joined late in 2024 on

59:06 the Visitors.

59:12 Just continues to get better.

59:15 And as he's got a ball and two strikes

59:17 on him now. Four walk-offs coming in.

59:19 He's was tied with Lexi Otis for the

59:21 team lead. Super Reese has separated

59:23 himself after walking off the first

59:25 inning.

59:28 And look out. Wow, KJ somehow avoids

59:31 getting plunked there as the count is

59:33 even at two and two.

59:35 >> Yeah, really having a pirouette out of

59:36 the way of that banana ball coming out

59:38 of the hand of Drake Fathineau.

59:43 This one cranked but fouled down the

59:44 right field line.

59:48 Well, you see even with that foul ball,

59:49 so much more power from Kyle Jackson

59:52 this season. Had only three home runs in

59:54 71 games a year ago. Has four in 17 for

59:59 the bananas this season and hits a laser

1:00:02 beam over the leaping glove of J.D. Urso

1:00:05 in the right field. A lead-off knock for

1:00:08 K-Jack.

1:00:10 >> So, the inning-tying run is on as Adam

1:00:13 Virant whispers secrets, I can only

1:00:15 imagine, into KJ's ear.

1:00:18 And now Bill Leroy

1:00:20 digs in as the inning-winning run.

1:00:23 The nine-year Nanner

1:00:25 coming off a one-for-seven weekend. His

1:00:27 lone hit a double

1:00:29 in Truist Park.

1:00:32 The numbers still superb here in his

1:00:33 fifth world tour. Hitting 345, reaching

1:00:36 base at a 419, Clint.

1:00:41 Another guy who's

1:00:43 aged like a fine wine in Banana Land.

1:00:46 Had a lot of success against the Coconut

1:00:48 when these teams squared off in San

1:00:50 Diego. Started quite the hot streak for

1:00:52 Bill Leroy, who was three for seven with

1:00:54 two sprints and four runs batted in

1:00:57 against one of these Banana Ball

1:00:59 Expansion teams.

1:01:02 Fathineau checking on KJ.

1:01:05 Smart decision. Kyle Jackson who gets

1:01:07 some more attention. Perfect six for six

1:01:09 on the year in his stolen base tries.

1:01:16 And another bender misses wide. Leroy

1:01:18 ahead two balls and a strike.

1:01:26 >> Sinker just misses high.

1:01:32 Dangerous 3-1 pitch coming. Built two

1:01:34 home runs so far. KJ off on it. Liner

1:01:37 into center. It's going to fall. Perfect

1:01:39 read by Kyle Jackson who falls down. And

1:01:41 now he's trying to hustle to third. He's

1:01:43 caught in a pickle. Toplin in pursuit.

1:01:46 He will make the tag.

1:01:48 That is a massive first out for the

1:01:51 Coconut. KJ looked destined to set it up

1:01:54 first and third before he took a spill.

1:01:57 Yeah, just so rare that you see guys

1:01:59 slip on the turf. And even though that

1:02:02 ball took a high hop on Grady Morgan in

1:02:04 center field, he made the smart decision

1:02:07 and decided to throw that [music] into

1:02:09 second base rather than fire it into

1:02:11 third. That's how they were able to

1:02:13 catch Kyle Jackson in that pickle and

1:02:16 nab him for out number one.

1:02:19 Ryan Cox in a 0-1 count.

1:02:21 Crazy numbers as Leroy got a crazy good

1:02:24 jump. No throw from Ashby Vining. Leroy,

1:02:27 his second steal in as many tries this

1:02:29 year. And the second stolen base already

1:02:32 in the ball game for the Nanners.

1:02:35 As that one misses the outside corner.

1:02:37 Cox ahead 2-1.

1:02:39 Hitting .333, a team-leading .509

1:02:42 on-base percentage.

1:02:44 Slow roller foul.

1:02:46 Three for 10 last weekend with

1:02:49 one ball force. Bringing his total up to

1:02:51 15, also pacing the Bananas.

1:03:00 The 2-2.

1:03:02 Swing and a miss.

1:03:05 Heck of a bender from Fofana for a huge

1:03:07 K.

1:03:09 Just buries that one in the dirt against

1:03:12 Ryan Cox. And this is a guy prolifically

1:03:14 one of the lowest strikeout rates in

1:03:17 Banana Ball history, but expanded the

1:03:19 zone. He has one of the lowest chase

1:03:22 rates

1:03:23 on the Bananas, but we've seen he, Bill

1:03:26 Leroy, DR Meadows, a lot of these guys

1:03:28 expanding over the last weekend or so,

1:03:32 and that one could very well come back

1:03:33 to cost the Nanners. Ty Jackson fouls

1:03:36 this into the parking lot, evening up

1:03:38 the count.

1:03:41 One for six with a sprint last weekend

1:03:43 against the Party Animals.

1:03:46 And a chopper, Shottani between the

1:03:48 legs, floated over to first.

1:03:51 A trick play to put a bow on a point as

1:03:55 the Coconut's have knotted this game up

1:03:57 at 1-1.

1:03:59 And have the first trick play for either

1:04:01 side as

1:04:02 they hook the equalizer point tonight.

1:04:06 Heck of a job by Fanno.

1:04:08 Able to strand the inning-tying run on

1:04:11 second.

1:04:12 As you get a look at the standings here.

1:04:15 56 games into the inaugural season of

1:04:18 the Banana Ball Championship League, the

1:04:19 Nanners still a two and a half game lead

1:04:21 over the Tailgaters, who of course have

1:04:23 clinched the playoff spot from winning

1:04:25 the Banana Ball Open back in mid-April.

1:04:27 Firefighters right there, and the

1:04:28 Coconut's just a half game behind them.

1:04:30 Party Animals and Clowns

1:04:32 currently on the outside looking in, but

1:04:34 reminder, we're 56 games into 183 game

1:04:37 season. Right, and you've seen Loco

1:04:39 Beach, they missed the Banana Ball Open,

1:04:41 they were quite disappointed in that.

1:04:43 They have rattled off series win after

1:04:45 series win since there, and Mark Crocco,

1:04:48 when he found out he was eliminated,

1:04:50 talking to him, he was like, "We are

1:04:52 going to be better. Just watch us." And

1:04:54 now this team currently in a position to

1:04:56 make the Banana Ball playoffs.

1:04:59 And Austin Drury, through two innings of

1:05:02 work, he has ceded a point while earning

1:05:05 one in the first along the way. Four

1:05:07 strikeouts, two in the first, two in the

1:05:10 second. And the fastball, the primary

1:05:12 weapon of choice

1:05:14 to rack up his case so far tonight. We

1:05:16 see the back foot bender, nasty though,

1:05:18 to Ashby Vining.

1:05:19 >> And you're seeing a lot of emotion out

1:05:20 of Austin Drury. Not only the Fortnite

1:05:22 dance, but you're seeing some other

1:05:24 dance moves from Drury, and he's coming

1:05:27 off the mound rather fired up for these

1:05:29 first two innings. Although, I'm sure

1:05:32 certainly disappointed in losing that

1:05:34 point an inning ago.

1:05:38 >> Drury, a guy after

1:05:40 he was nabbed in the 34th round in 2018

1:05:43 by the Los Angeles Dodgers

1:05:45 after his junior campaign

1:05:48 at the University of North Florida, just

1:05:49 2 hours down the road in Jacksonville.

1:05:52 Spent 3 years in the American

1:05:54 Association up in Sioux City, Iowa for

1:05:56 the Explorers.

1:06:00 And you see just so

1:06:03 grateful to be here in Banana Ball for

1:06:05 his ninth year of professional baseball.

1:06:08 That's Payton Schappacher.

1:06:10 >> Yeah.

1:06:11 >> Another one of Kraka's 2025 visitors

1:06:13 holding down the 10 hole.

1:06:15 Only hitting a buck 90

1:06:17 as he taps this one to short Cox between

1:06:20 the legs. Just in time to first.

1:06:25 And it's now a trick play each for the

1:06:27 Coconut and Bananas.

1:06:29 >> And 13 for Ryan Cox here in the month of

1:06:32 May. He has started to creep back into

1:06:34 this trick play race. Race even with

1:06:37 Jonathan Luter's having such a strong

1:06:40 campaign for the Texas Tailgaters, you

1:06:42 can just never count out the glove

1:06:44 magician earning trick play number one

1:06:47 tonight for the Bananas.

1:06:50 >> And a team leading 38th trick play of

1:06:53 the year

1:06:54 for the sport's all-time leader

1:06:56 when it comes to trick plays.

1:06:59 That was his 623rd

1:07:01 of his career for everybody trying to

1:07:03 keep track at home.

1:07:05 Nobody else has gotten to 350 yet. The

1:07:07 closest is Dustin Beaver at 348.

1:07:12 AND BOOGIE O'CLOCK.

1:07:15 A LOT OF ELBOW MOVEMENT

1:07:17 for Drury Olson Cox and Alexiades.

1:07:21 Back at the top of the order.

1:07:25 Allen, a strikeout victim his first

1:07:27 time, gets himself a curveball right off

1:07:29 the keister and

1:07:30 Uh-oh, looks like we might have

1:07:32 ourselves a little brawl. OH, NO!

1:07:34 BANANAS AND COCONUTS coming out of the

1:07:36 dugouts and we've got FISTICUFFS HERE IN

1:07:39 SAVANNAH.

1:07:40 Connor Allen took the baseball bat to

1:07:42 the side of the head of Austin Drury.

1:07:46 Oh, they're going to say

1:07:47 >> [music]

1:07:58 [music]

1:08:04 [bell]

1:08:07 [music]

1:08:12 [music]

1:08:17 >> Oh, man, you could really feel the

1:08:18 passion between Connor Harris and Peyton

1:08:20 Shottaneye on that.

1:08:22 They're kind of the perfect size to hug

1:08:24 one another. It's It's It's beautiful.

1:08:26 Also, Kelsie Whitmore, really good

1:08:28 ground and pound on Denay Benitez. Well,

1:08:31 I'll tell you who was probably really

1:08:32 happy to be engaged in that fake brawl.

1:08:35 While Allen Satloff

1:08:37 for the Savannah Bananas, there was a

1:08:38 nobody who was doing more shadow boxing

1:08:41 on Banana Land at Sea than the Bananas

1:08:44 rookie right-hander.

1:08:46 Yeah, he has parlayed that into the

1:08:49 season as well.

1:08:51 Good chance you'll see him

1:08:52 >> [music]

1:08:52 >> boxing against a make-believe opponent

1:08:55 if you take a look at Satloff in the

1:08:57 back in the background of any shot.

1:09:02 He just really likes doing it and and

1:09:04 and it you know what that's Kyle Ludwig

1:09:07 and a bunch of other teammates just

1:09:09 absolutely laughing their tails off.

1:09:11 >> You took the words out of my mouth as

1:09:12 it's a one-two count on Dane Toplin.

1:09:14 >> Yeah, Cowboy Kyle has encouraged the

1:09:16 shadow boxing immensely

1:09:19 from his rookie righty.

1:09:21 >> Another hit batter.

1:09:24 And that one

1:09:25 a back foot bender in the literal sense.

1:09:28 So, Allen and Toplin

1:09:30 are both plunked.

1:09:33 And you get a good example

1:09:35 of one of the only problems Austin Drury

1:09:37 has had. That's his eighth and ninth

1:09:38 hitters hit this year, three more than

1:09:40 anybody else in the sport.

1:09:42 Oh man, that was off the back knee.

1:09:44 That's actually incredibly painful.

1:09:46 >> Yeah, and you see Toplin now off the

1:09:47 bases Armani Henderson in as the

1:09:49 designated runner at first.

1:09:51 And now Ben Parker will lift this one in

1:09:54 the shallow center field that dropping

1:09:56 in front of Alexiades getting the wave

1:09:59 from third and scoring is Caner Allen.

1:10:02 And the Coconuts now with runs in

1:10:04 back-to-back innings against Austin

1:10:06 Drury.

1:10:08 A heck of a job

1:10:10 by Benny Pumps capitalizing on the

1:10:12 back-to-back

1:10:13 hit by pitches given up by Austin Drury.

1:10:18 Got jammed but able to muscle it into

1:10:20 center for the knock.

1:10:23 TA comes around to score his 19th run of

1:10:25 the year.

1:10:28 And still two ducks on the pond and now

1:10:30 for Jordan Brewer.

1:10:33 The team leader with 24 stakes so far

1:10:36 this season.

1:10:40 Can't ask for much more when it comes to

1:10:42 the Coconuts from their fourth rounder

1:10:43 out of St. Joseph, Michigan.

1:10:46 Sound like a broken record but another

1:10:48 one of Mark Racco's 2025 visitors.

1:10:54 As this one bounced to Olsen, flipped to

1:10:57 Cox for one, over to first, not in time.

1:10:59 Brewer showing off the speed. I mean,

1:11:01 that guy is athletic as they come for a

1:11:03 first baseman.

1:11:06 >> Yeah, you just see him run so well. He

1:11:08 does everything right, hits for power,

1:11:10 he's got speed, and you see just a

1:11:12 little bit of a slow transition from

1:11:15 Ryan Cox getting that banana ball out of

1:11:17 his glove, and also making sure that he

1:11:19 was going to drag his toe on that second

1:11:22 base bag. You just see that split second

1:11:25 kind of a difference in not doubling up

1:11:28 Jordan Brewer and keeping the inning

1:11:30 going for Loco Beach.

1:11:33 >> Runners on the corners.

1:11:35 And Eric Osberg with a ball and a strike

1:11:37 as that one

1:11:38 scrapes the outside corner.

1:11:41 Osberg not thrilled

1:11:43 with the call from Ids.

1:11:47 And another fastball, this one fouled

1:11:49 straight back.

1:11:51 Proud of Florence, Massachusetts.

1:11:54 Wants it back.

1:11:56 Henderson leads off third, Brewer off

1:11:58 first, one run already home.

1:12:00 Here in the third, Osberg wants more.

1:12:03 And another fastball, pretty much

1:12:05 identical

1:12:07 to the previous pitch. And you see

1:12:09 Osberg asking Hunter Ids, "That was up,

1:12:10 right?" Hunter says, "Yes."

1:12:16 Eric, a pop up his first time.

1:12:20 This one will be out of play.

1:12:25 Eric three for 12 last weekend.

1:12:28 A run driven in, only one strikeout,

1:12:30 hitting to some bad luck in Wichita.

1:12:38 As Brewer is off, but it's a strikeout

1:12:40 three called. Beautiful bender from AD.

1:12:43 His fifth punchout of the ballgame as he

1:12:45 leaves them on the corners.

1:12:47 But the Coconuts capitalize on the two

1:12:49 hit batters. They've got a run for a

1:12:51 second straight inning.

1:12:53 And a chance to jump ahead in points.

1:12:57 As we'll get it down to Jolee Chebahtah

1:12:58 for a Bananas Foster Family of the Game.

1:13:01 >> There are over 400,000 children and

1:13:04 teens in foster care without a permanent

1:13:06 home. To raise awareness and support

1:13:08 this community, we created Bananas

1:13:10 Foster, the official non-profit of

1:13:13 Banana Ball. Our organization is

1:13:16 dedicated to celebrating the foster care

1:13:18 community while educating and inspiring

1:13:21 others to get involved. Tonight, we're

1:13:24 doing things a little different for

1:13:26 Bananas Foster. You see, across the

1:13:28 United States, there are 27,000

1:13:32 young adults who will

1:13:34 who will

1:13:37 age out of foster care at the age of 18

1:13:40 with little to no support.

1:13:43 Unfortunately, only 60%

1:13:46 will obtain their high school diploma

1:13:48 and only [music] 4% will obtain their

1:13:51 grad will obtain their college

1:13:54 education.

1:13:56 So tonight, Bananas Foster is

1:13:58 celebrating

1:14:00 four incredible local kids who are among

1:14:04 that 4%

1:14:06 of graduating from college.

1:14:13 Fans, please join us in celebrating

1:14:16 these incredible graduates for their

1:14:18 accomplishments and for obtaining their

1:14:21 diplomas.

1:14:23 >> I swear

1:14:25 >> [music]

1:14:28 >> I did it

1:14:32 I did

1:14:33 >> [music]

1:14:36 >> I did it

1:14:38 >> [music]

1:14:41 >> I did it all

1:14:43 This one

1:14:46 >> [music]

1:14:47 >> things that I did you would say

1:14:52 >> This is

1:14:53 This is such a cool Bananas Foster

1:14:55 celebration. Nine different teenagers

1:14:58 in the foster care system all get to

1:15:00 celebrate graduation with the Bananas

1:15:02 and Coconuts in front of a full house in

1:15:05 Grayson Stadium. I mean, this is

1:15:06 absolute goosebumps stuff. [music]

1:15:09 Gosh, this is what it's all about. Very

1:15:11 cool, very unique, something we really

1:15:13 haven't seen very much throughout all of

1:15:15 these Bananas Foster family

1:15:17 celebrations. And I know Joel Lee

1:15:19 Chabalala has been so excited for this

1:15:22 all week long and now gets to have a

1:15:25 picture with all of these incredible

1:15:27 graduates.

1:15:31 A photo that will last a lifetime. Heck

1:15:33 yeah. Congratulations [music] all the

1:15:35 hard work. It will continue in college

1:15:39 for nine graduates we got to celebrate

1:15:41 here tonight

1:15:42 as the Banana Band blasts [music] away.

1:15:46 All the way out on the right field

1:15:47 landing.

1:15:49 It's one of the beautiful parts of

1:15:50 Banana Ball. The cast and crew players

1:15:52 alike getting to every part of the

1:15:54 ballpark, whether it's 100, 2,000 fans

1:15:56 in College Station or 5,500

1:16:00 in our beloved home of Grayson.

1:16:04 You never know where folks are going to

1:16:05 show up.

1:16:10 As Nick blares away on the trumpet.

1:16:14 >> [music]

1:16:14 >> And we go to the bottom of the third

1:16:16 inning.

1:16:17 Back and forth affair so far.

1:16:20 >> [music]

1:16:20 >> Nanners won the first inning.

1:16:23 This Coconuts offense shouldn't be

1:16:25 surprising, struck right back winning

1:16:27 the second frame and have a chance to

1:16:29 take their first lead in points as

1:16:31 Jackson Olson

1:16:34 This is fun.

1:16:40 >> [music]

1:16:46 [music]

1:16:50 [music]

1:17:06 [music]

1:17:12 [music]

1:17:15 >> Just a little taste of what we're going

1:17:17 to get

1:17:18 from the pride of New Milford,

1:17:20 Connecticut, Jackson Olson on season 35

1:17:23 of Dancing with the Stars.

1:17:29 That is going to be appointment

1:17:30 television. And all of his teammates

1:17:32 have been so excited, all congratulating

1:17:35 him. And you got to see a little bit of

1:17:38 some different flavors for Olson there

1:17:39 on his dances. This one's rolled over to

1:17:41 Jordan Brewer. He will feed this under

1:17:44 the legs to Drake Fontenot with the bag

1:17:46 and Loco Beach back out in front when it

1:17:49 comes to trick plays, up two to one.

1:17:53 And one pitch, one out for Fontenot.

1:17:56 Good PFP

1:17:58 with his first baseman.

1:18:01 Max Young Goldberg in the 10 hole.

1:18:05 Coming off the best series of his young

1:18:07 banana ball career, three for five, a

1:18:08 double, and five ball four sprints.

1:18:11 >> [laughter]

1:18:13 >> Chopper back to Brewer. He's going to

1:18:15 flip it under the leg, take it to first

1:18:17 himself.

1:18:19 And two trick plays,

1:18:22 just three pitches into this bottom of

1:18:24 the third. Coconuts up 3-1 in trick

1:18:26 plays and an out away from leading in

1:18:27 this game. Again, as long as Jordan

1:18:29 Brewer is getting action over there at

1:18:30 first base, he's going to continue to

1:18:33 rip the trick plays. I mean, he and Alex

1:18:35 Zeek were the two guys doing it with

1:18:37 reckless abandon at that position.

1:18:39 And as for Drake Fautueux, he has eight

1:18:42 holds in nine opportunities this season.

1:18:45 He has been so good at protecting inning

1:18:47 leads.

1:18:48 >> Chatagnier between the legs. High throw,

1:18:51 but Brewer right there for it. Three

1:18:53 trick plays as the Coconuts jump out

1:18:56 ahead to lead two points to one.

1:18:58 >> And it is a 1 minute and 13 second

1:19:01 inning FOR THE LOCO BEACH COCONUTS and

1:19:04 Drake Fautueux, the second fastest

1:19:07 inning in franchise history.

1:19:10 >> Just a second off Andy Archer, April

1:19:13 24th in Amarillo, Texas.

1:19:16 Fautueux and the Coconuts, what a third

1:19:19 frame.

1:19:21 They take a one point lead.

1:19:32 What a start to this ball game. Coconuts

1:19:34 are four to one in trick plays.

1:19:39 Great opportunity

1:19:41 in pursuit of that equalizer point.

1:19:43 They'll need more trick plays than the

1:19:44 Bananas going into our final inning

1:19:47 to get the point that only the away team

1:19:49 can claim.

1:19:58 And Drake Fautueux

1:20:00 make it nine for 10 this year.

1:20:03 Cashing in on those hold opportunities,

1:20:05 which is anytime he enters a lead or an

1:20:08 enters an inning with the lead and turns

1:20:10 it into a point.

1:20:11 >> And the even more impressive statistic

1:20:14 that just comes along that only two of

1:20:16 those holds have come with a multi-run

1:20:18 lead. He has had most of the time just a

1:20:20 one-run lead and had it stand up so many

1:20:23 times for Loco Beach.

1:20:25 >> Really impressive. As is Robert Anthony

1:20:28 Cruz, here in his third World Tour, a

1:20:30 new dad, and it looks like you're going

1:20:32 to get some extra parenting practice out

1:20:34 in left field. Here, Rack, what's going

1:20:36 on?

1:20:36 >> Yeah, that's correct, man. Uh you know,

1:20:38 playing left field is easy enough as it

1:20:40 is, so we probably added a little level

1:20:42 of difficulty.

1:20:45 >> Now, how does the weight and feel How

1:20:47 does it com- compare to your daughter,

1:20:49 Jane Winslet, here?

1:20:50 >> I want to be honest, Jane Winslet is an

1:20:51 absolute unit.

1:20:53 99th percentile in just about

1:20:55 everything, so this uh this baby's

1:20:58 absolutely heavy weight out here.

1:21:01 >> Now, Rack, you got to spend the weekend

1:21:03 in Atlanta last weekend with Jane

1:21:04 Winslet and GG. What was it like to be

1:21:07 able to celebrate in Mother's Day with

1:21:09 the both of them last Sunday?

1:21:10 >> Oh, that was special. That was That was

1:21:12 awesome. I made sure to write GG a card

1:21:14 a day early cuz I knew I'd be tired on

1:21:16 that morning Sunday game. So, we got the

1:21:19 card in, got her a little locket uh with

1:21:22 a picture of of Jane Winslet and myself.

1:21:25 Uh

1:21:25 so, yeah, it was it was a great Mother's

1:21:27 Day. GG's GG's a real one.

1:21:30 >> I just got chills. That's special. And

1:21:32 what a good lesson for everybody out

1:21:33 there. That's planning ahead.

1:21:35 >> That's it, man. You got to plan ahead,

1:21:36 especially in Manaball.

1:21:38 >> Now,

1:21:39 if you get a fly ball, as getting an

1:21:40 at-bat tells us, a two-and-one count

1:21:42 here,

1:21:44 kicking off our fourth inning, chases

1:21:46 the Bender below the knees.

1:21:48 Do you think you're going to be able to

1:21:49 pull off a backflip catch with the baby

1:21:51 in tow?

1:21:52 >> You know, as any parent can attest to,

1:21:54 you learn to do things with one hand uh

1:21:58 carrying the baby. So, whether that's

1:22:00 making a latte in the morning, whether

1:22:01 that's making a a balanced breakfast, or

1:22:04 or making a backflip catch in left

1:22:05 field, I don't anticipate it should be a

1:22:07 problem.

1:22:07 >> Rack, by chance, did you Did you bring

1:22:10 any like diapers out there? What What if

1:22:12 you have to change the baby?

1:22:15 >> Here's the deal, Josh.

1:22:17 I I do have a diaper here.

1:22:19 >> What?

1:22:19 >> Um

1:22:20 but I I will say

1:22:23 I There are a lot of things I Yeah,

1:22:24 heads up. A lot of things I can do with

1:22:27 one hand. You know what? If there's a

1:22:28 time it's now.

1:22:28 >> All right, he's going for it.

1:22:30 Robert Anthony Cruz attempting to change

1:22:33 a diaper mid-inning on the mic.

1:22:36 >> Man, I should have kept an MPI clock for

1:22:38 the diaper change.

1:22:39 >> I mean, this is lightning speed.

1:22:45 >> Doubt boom, got it.

1:22:48 >> I mean, based on my internal clock, that

1:22:50 was like 15 seconds.

1:22:51 >> I was going to say, that's sub 20.

1:22:53 >> It's one of my better times.

1:22:56 >> Are you even GG competitive with that

1:22:57 sort of stuff?

1:22:58 >> Uh you know, we're competitive with a

1:23:00 lot of things. That's one heck of a

1:23:02 trick play by Ryan Cox.

1:23:03 >> Oh, baby!

1:23:04 What a double play started by the glove

1:23:06 magician. Gnarly stop to close the

1:23:09 frame. He fields it

1:23:11 through the legs, then glove flips to

1:23:13 Olsen, and you see Joey a sub-two-minute

1:23:16 inning for the Bananas. Right, that was

1:23:18 immediately as quick as your diaper

1:23:20 change.

1:23:21 >> It really was. And guys, I'm going to be

1:23:22 honest with you, I'm about to go hit.

1:23:23 So, we're going to put Jane Winston

1:23:25 down.

1:23:26 >> Yeah, Rack, you're leading off the

1:23:27 bottom of the fourth. Thank you very

1:23:28 much for joining us, my dear friend.

1:23:31 >> Thanks, guys.

1:23:35 >> Only in Banana Ball. That was That was

1:23:38 one of the great segments, in my

1:23:41 opinion. That was remarkable.

1:23:43 >> How the heck did he pull that off?

1:23:46 >> And I mean that about Rack and Cox.

1:23:51 Hey baby town.

1:23:53 Everybody moving it and grooving it.

1:23:55 You're in the hostess city of the South.

1:24:08 >> [music]

1:24:23 [music]

1:24:29 [music]

1:24:39 [music]

1:24:51 [music]

1:24:57 [music]

1:25:05 [music]

1:25:20 [music]

1:25:20 >> So much fun watching

1:25:23 the Grayson faithful

1:25:26 getting out of their seats

1:25:29 and getting hey baby-able

1:25:31 here on a downright gorgeous evening

1:25:35 in Daphne Park, 79°

1:25:38 as the sun sets on our 100-year-old

1:25:41 ballpark and Robert Anthony Cruz

1:25:44 puts down the fake baby

1:25:46 and digs in representing the

1:25:48 inning-winning run.

1:25:53 That that pitch would have hit the baby.

1:25:56 That's a tact. It's like great decision

1:25:58 by Robert Anthony Cruz yet again.

1:26:02 Bounder?

1:26:04 Hershey.

1:26:05 No time for a trick as Rack was flying

1:26:07 down the line.

1:26:10 Takes care of

1:26:12 our man who just got off the mic

1:26:15 and Hershey successful on his first

1:26:17 opportunity tonight.

1:26:23 Quick exchange

1:26:25 from the two-time Division II national

1:26:27 champion.

1:26:30 And a beautiful slider in there for

1:26:32 strike one to Dan Oberst who singled,

1:26:35 stole second,

1:26:36 and scored the inning-winning run in the

1:26:38 first fouling that one off himself.

1:26:42 Fano gets some trick play practice.

1:26:50 Does not feel good.

1:26:55 Oberst here in his eighth year as a

1:26:57 Savannah Banana.

1:26:59 Only Luigs and LeRoy are more tenured.

1:27:03 And spits on the curveball down and out.

1:27:12 Another chance for Shaa Tony between the

1:27:14 legs. His third trick play of the ball

1:27:17 game.

1:27:20 As the lead in trick plays back up to

1:27:22 three for the Coconut's. And all of

1:27:24 these trick plays have come from Shaa

1:27:26 Tony and Jordan Brewer tonight. Again,

1:27:28 two of the guys who have really led the

1:27:30 way this season and continue to put the

1:27:33 pedal to the metal as

1:27:35 Ashby Bynum is unable to squeeze this

1:27:37 one into the mitt, but Lexi Otis

1:27:39 will not try and swipe first base

1:27:42 despite being the tour leader with four

1:27:45 of them this year.

1:27:46 Tell you what, Ben Parker sneaking up on

1:27:48 him though.

1:27:51 Coconut's DH has three steals of first.

1:27:57 And Lexi Otis is ahead 2-0.

1:28:00 And the walk-off ball for sprint to win

1:28:02 the first inning for the Bananas.

1:28:07 And Fano has really settled in since

1:28:09 then. That That a wave and a miss on

1:28:12 another filthy bender.

1:28:18 And to the sinker, just barely getting

1:28:20 the inside corner. Lexi is not thrilled

1:28:22 by the call.

1:28:29 Another chance for Sho Tanaka, between

1:28:31 the legs again. Brewer under the leg.

1:28:34 Three trick plays on the frame.

1:28:37 Three trick plays on the night for

1:28:39 Brewer, four now for Sho Tanaka as the

1:28:41 Coconut still lead 2-1.

1:28:44 Continuing to put the pressure on the

1:28:46 Savannah Bananas. That equalizer point

1:28:48 may very well go Loco Beach's way yet

1:28:51 again.

1:28:56 And let's get it on down to Sam Bowman.

1:28:59 Chatting with Sam.

1:29:01 >> Yeah guys, we got AD just off the mound.

1:29:03 Brewer, I sent a text up to the booth. I

1:29:05 said, "AD's out." First inning you came

1:29:07 out and you said, look at this. Yeah,

1:29:08 you said I'm dehydrated. I don't know if

1:29:10 I can go, but you come back out. What's

1:29:12 going on?

1:29:12 >> Thank you. Thank you. Uh yeah, just a

1:29:13 little bit dehydrated. It's a little hot

1:29:14 today in Savannah. You know, we got

1:29:16 we're getting a

1:29:18 We're getting drinks from the players,

1:29:19 so you know, it's going to be a long

1:29:21 game and we're going to get through it.

1:29:22 >> What's the mentality? You're thinking we

1:29:24 got to shut it down. They tell Mazella

1:29:25 warm up and you said, "I'm not done

1:29:27 yet."

1:29:27 >> No, not done yet. You know, you know,

1:29:29 we're won't disclose if we threw up or

1:29:30 not, but if we throw up, you get all the

1:29:32 bad toxins out and you go right back out

1:29:33 there.

1:29:34 >> So it's kind of a puke and rally

1:29:35 mentality. You guys got him real quick.

1:29:37 >> Puke and rally. Yeah, let me get some

1:29:38 water.

1:29:40 >> These are just good teammates, guys.

1:29:41 Hey, AD's hydrated. He's feeling feeling

1:29:43 much better. He's got a good good group.

1:29:45 You love these guys?

1:29:46 >> I love these guys.

1:29:47 >> Guys, he's hydrated. He's feeling good.

1:29:48 He threw pretty dang good. What, five

1:29:49 punches?

1:29:50 >> Uh just got to get the dub, though. Got

1:29:51 to get the dub.

1:29:52 >> He He says he could do better. He I

1:29:53 think he did pretty good. Guys, he's

1:29:55 hydrated. We're feeling better.

1:29:56 >> Feeling better.

1:29:57 >> Good to hear, Sam. Thank you very much.

1:30:00 Hard-hitting journalism.

1:30:03 And good to see that AD is getting

1:30:04 properly hydrated.

1:30:07 As you get look at the sun setting

1:30:10 on Grayson Stadium. Four innings in the

1:30:12 books.

1:30:14 Coconuts ahead two to one.

1:30:17 And we've got a full docket tomorrow

1:30:20 night. Triple header. Starts at 7:00

1:30:23 p.m. on the Bananas YouTube and the

1:30:25 Clowns YouTube. It'll be the first ever

1:30:27 Clowns headliner. Game two of this

1:30:29 three-game set between the Bananas and

1:30:31 Coconuts right here on the Nanners

1:30:33 YouTube channel and then Firefighters

1:30:34 and Tailgaters from El Paso at 9:00 p.m.

1:30:37 Eastern.

1:30:37 >> All really exciting matchups, but that

1:30:40 Clowns Party Animals game must-watch

1:30:43 Banana Ball. And coming in a place

1:30:45 that's had a lot of incredible Banana

1:30:47 Ball moments over the years, Victory

1:30:49 Field in Indianapolis.

1:30:51 >> Speaking of Indiana, here's the kid out

1:30:53 of Berne, Indiana, Grant Vesser. Bananas

1:30:56 fourth-rounder takes over for A.D. A

1:30:58 heck of a start to his Banana Ball.

1:31:00 Chris scuffling a bit as of late, trying

1:31:02 to find it.

1:31:02 >> This is the 11th time Grant Vesser has

1:31:04 taken the mound for the Savannah

1:31:06 Bananas, and you see the earned run

1:31:07 average now at an even nine for the

1:31:09 left-hander. He started the season

1:31:11 incredibly strong, but since then, at

1:31:14 least according Tyler Gillman and Adam

1:31:16 Virant, Vesser maybe relying on his

1:31:19 changeup just a little too much, which

1:31:21 has caused a lot of teams to sit and

1:31:24 wait on that pitch, and they have done

1:31:25 some damage against it. So, hopefully

1:31:28 this is an early get-right outing for

1:31:30 Grant Vesser in a pretty low-stakes

1:31:33 situation at the moment.

1:31:34 >> Yeah, it was an unearned run scored

1:31:36 against him in his lone action this past

1:31:40 weekend against the Party Animals in

1:31:42 Atlanta.

1:31:45 And another look at what the heck just

1:31:47 happened on the field. What the What is

1:31:49 that? Pepto-Bismol?

1:31:52 >> I hope it's not paint.

1:31:55 >> That's Pepto straight to the face.

1:31:58 Golly. You know what? It's actually

1:31:59 pretty tasty. I like the taste.

1:32:01 >> You just like drinking that on the

1:32:02 regular?

1:32:03 >> Not on the regular. No, no, no, no, no.

1:32:05 But, you know, some Pepto-Bismol here

1:32:07 and there.

1:32:08 >> ever seen the movie Cape Fear? The

1:32:10 Robert De Niro one?

1:32:11 >> No, it's it's on the list. I haven't

1:32:14 seen it.

1:32:14 >> I think it's Joe Don Baker's character.

1:32:16 He's like a private eye who drinks his

1:32:19 Jack Daniel's with Pepto-Bismol. He

1:32:21 mixes them.

1:32:22 >> Grady Morgan out to left center and

1:32:25 Alexiades showing off the wheels.

1:32:28 Taking extra bases

1:32:30 away from Morgan who had a pair of

1:32:31 doubles last weekend against the

1:32:33 Firefighters.

1:32:36 Good wood, just nothing to show for it

1:32:38 as we got another gander.

1:32:41 And to the 10 hole we go.

1:32:44 Pinch hitter Tony A. spits on that

1:32:45 changeup that you were just talking

1:32:47 about, Josh. It's Besser's best pitch.

1:32:49 It's one of the best pitches in the

1:32:50 sport.

1:32:52 As he goes to the breaking ball to even

1:32:53 up the count.

1:32:55 I was talking to the Bananas pitching

1:32:56 coach Ryan Kellogg who echoed the exact

1:32:58 same sentiment pregame earlier today.

1:33:00 You got to set up that changeup with the

1:33:02 fastball. Keep hitters honest.

1:33:04 As he goes to the changeup, Tony A. does

1:33:06 not offer up. Besser working lightning

1:33:08 fast.

1:33:10 And the 2-2 lofted out to left center.

1:33:12 Alexiades again, this will be a tip

1:33:15 drill to himself.

1:33:18 For the third trick play tonight

1:33:20 for the Nanners.

1:33:23 >> And we saw Reese Alexiades, he debuted a

1:33:25 new trick play last week and he said it

1:33:28 was in an effort to help him get trick

1:33:30 plays on balls that he's hunting down on

1:33:33 the run. And you see Alexiades on the

1:33:35 run yet again, but is able to go to that

1:33:38 tip drill. Liked the way that ball was

1:33:40 falling.

1:33:41 >> And the Bananas cutting into the Loco

1:33:43 Beach Coconut's trick play lead now.

1:33:47 Back at the top of the order. Two balls

1:33:49 and a strike on Tanner Ivey. A

1:33:50 strikeout, hit by pitch, and then came

1:33:52 around to score the inning winning run

1:33:53 in the third.

1:33:57 Low strike.

1:34:00 I understand TA's disdain with the call.

1:34:04 And he

1:34:06 just shoots that right through the four

1:34:07 hole.

1:34:08 That's how you bounce back after

1:34:10 a strike's called on you you did not

1:34:12 agree with.

1:34:18 Allen's tour-leading 57th

1:34:20 total base on the season.

1:34:23 And now Dane Toflin

1:34:26 with a strikeout and a hit by pitch on

1:34:28 his ledger.

1:34:32 With a ball and a strike on him.

1:34:35 >> [music]

1:34:41 >> Bender fouled away.

1:34:51 And a chance for Ryan Cox. There's the

1:34:54 professor. Beautiful trick play from the

1:34:56 glove magician as Grant Bessert

1:35:00 puts up a zero in the top of the fifth.

1:35:02 That's what you call a get-right outing

1:35:05 for Grant Bessert. Induces two trick

1:35:07 plays and registers a 2-minute and

1:35:10 50-second frame for the Savannah

1:35:12 Bananas. Excellent work from their

1:35:14 rookie southpaw.

1:35:20 To the bottom of the fifth we go.

1:35:22 Coconuts still up a point.

1:35:24 Banana Bananas

1:35:26 will boogie here in Grayson.

1:35:39 >> [music]

1:35:44 [music]

1:35:52 [music]

1:35:58 [music]

1:36:15 >> You know them, you love them.

1:36:18 They're the best dance troop this side

1:36:19 of the Mississippi. Special getting to

1:36:21 see the Nanas do their thing here in

1:36:24 Savannah.

1:36:26 >> Plus Sunday and Karen walking into the

1:36:28 office this morning or walking in the

1:36:30 stadium office I should say, man, it

1:36:32 just brought the most special smile to

1:36:34 my face.

1:36:35 >> Yeah.

1:36:35 >> That was awesome.

1:36:36 >> Couldn't agree more with Mothman in the

1:36:38 chat says coolest ladies around.

1:36:41 Great YouTube username, too.

1:36:43 >> I kind of think our moms are the coolest

1:36:45 ladies around, but you know, the the

1:36:48 Nanas, they're up there, too.

1:36:49 >> Yeah, okay.

1:36:50 >> Yeah,

1:36:51 you got me there, Josh.

1:36:53 >> I I I know I'm a little biased, but I

1:36:56 don't have to be biased for your mom,

1:36:58 but I think she's amazing. She's so

1:36:59 cool.

1:37:00 >> Oh, yeah, you're spot-on. KJ has another

1:37:02 barrel as this one's going to fall and

1:37:05 it bounces over the head of Antwan. Kyle

1:37:07 Jackson can really fly, but he will park

1:37:09 it at second.

1:37:11 Now two for two on the evening.

1:37:14 And the double has the inning-winning

1:37:15 run in scoring position.

1:37:16 >> Look, this is the Coconut's first

1:37:19 regular season game in Grayson Stadium.

1:37:22 There's an adjustment that you have to

1:37:23 make playing on turf. You're going to

1:37:26 see bigger bounces from the banana balls

1:37:28 and Antwan needed to position himself a

1:37:31 little bit further away from that ball

1:37:33 to field it cleanly. Instead, it skips

1:37:35 over his head and gets Kyle Jackson an

1:37:38 extra base. We saw the high hop it took

1:37:40 on Grady Morgan earlier in the night.

1:37:42 Second time it's happened to a Coconut.

1:37:48 >> And a quick 2-0 count on Bill Leroy all

1:37:51 of a sudden. Fautno two balls away

1:37:54 from losing this inning

1:37:56 and losing the lead.

1:38:01 Make it two and one on the Nanners

1:38:03 backstop. A single his first time,

1:38:04 swiped second and was stranded there

1:38:06 back in the second.

1:38:14 Fautno has twirled

1:38:16 three scoreless innings since giving up

1:38:18 that run in the first.

1:38:24 This is a guy who can get on a run when

1:38:26 he has the scoreless innings going. Had

1:38:27 39 and a third consecutive scoreless

1:38:30 frames, a Delta State record, the fifth

1:38:32 longest in D2 history.

1:38:34 And Shatanya, nice play! Wow, it's our

1:38:37 third pickle of the ball game. KJ tried

1:38:40 evasive maneuvers, Dane Toplin wise to

1:38:42 it.

1:38:45 Looks like Tyler Gaynor might want to

1:38:46 challenge the call from Jake Moore, the

1:38:48 crew chief, third base umpire.

1:38:52 Nope, he's just going to send JT

1:38:54 Sokolov, the designated runner, over to

1:38:56 first.

1:39:00 Heads-up play by Shatanya to get the

1:39:02 lead runner. That is massive.

1:39:04 And KJ caught in a pickle for the second

1:39:06 time tonight. Well, that was the easier

1:39:08 play for Peyton Shatanya. He didn't have

1:39:10 to throw cross body, instead just throw

1:39:12 it over to Dane Toplin instantly out the

1:39:15 back. So, great job from Dane as well to

1:39:18 be ready to receive that throw from

1:39:21 Peyton Shatanya and get the lead runner

1:39:24 in a massive one at that.

1:39:27 Official scoring decision?

1:39:29 6-5 fielder's choice.

1:39:47 >> Ryan Cox fouls it off of himself.

1:39:50 Ball and two strikes on the Banana's

1:39:51 short stop, a strikeout victim his first

1:39:53 time.

1:39:55 One of two K's Fontenot has picked up so

1:39:58 far tonight.

1:40:07 You talk about those pickles, Sokolov

1:40:09 was picked off his first time as the

1:40:11 designated runner.

1:40:14 And that's going to be a broken bat

1:40:16 knock.

1:40:17 Bat dies a hero for Cox dunking it into

1:40:20 right.

1:40:22 Pushing that inning winning run back

1:40:23 into scoring position.

1:40:33 >> What I think you have seen over the last

1:40:35 couple of weekends, the Bananas having

1:40:37 so many struggles batting with guys in

1:40:40 scoring position. I mean, they're

1:40:42 batting below 200 since the start of

1:40:44 April with guys in scoring position. You

1:40:46 see them pressing even when it comes to

1:40:48 their base running and that's where

1:40:50 you've seen some mistakes here tonight.

1:40:52 And part of the reason that they are

1:40:54 trailing against Loco Beach right now.

1:40:57 >> Yeah, between Sokolov and KJ they've run

1:40:59 into three outs already.

1:41:01 >> Tough. I mean, that's a full inning that

1:41:03 they've given Drake Fontenot.

1:41:04 >> Yeah, you can't give the number two

1:41:06 overall draft pick, guy who's really

1:41:08 been pitching well as of late.

1:41:11 And is coming off four innings of one

1:41:14 run ball, an unearned run at that

1:41:16 against the Firefighters who are the

1:41:18 top hitting team in the league when it

1:41:19 comes to batting average. I mean, this

1:41:21 is

1:41:22 this is a guy who is really starting to

1:41:24 find it.

1:41:26 And by all accounts was one of the top

1:41:28 two ranked pitchers in the draft. This

1:41:30 time he plunks Ty Jackson.

1:41:34 He's going to spin the helmet.

1:41:36 Yeah, that did not feel good.

1:41:40 Ty is making sure that everybody on the

1:41:42 Loco Beach Coconut's right now knows

1:41:44 that he was plunked by Drake Botno. And

1:41:47 I have never in my life seen somebody

1:41:50 step out of the box and spin the helmet

1:41:53 almost like a football after getting

1:41:55 plunked.

1:41:57 Oh gosh, right off the forearm.

1:42:02 It's about as bad as it gets when it

1:42:04 comes to

1:42:05 places to be plunked. Botno and

1:42:08 Jackson Olson with a nice little

1:42:10 choreographed dance together.

1:42:13 Jackie bouncer to second. Urso only has

1:42:16 one play. What a snow!

1:42:19 Vining not able to scoop it.

1:42:21 And it will be a walk-off fielder's

1:42:24 choice. Olson his third inning ender of

1:42:27 the year. We're tied at two.

1:42:30 And that's the play that you have to

1:42:31 make if you're J.D. Urso. It's

1:42:34 you know, you're just trying to make

1:42:35 sure you can get that guaranteed out at

1:42:37 home [music] plate. There was the

1:42:39 possibility of a double play. Instead,

1:42:42 he wanted to try his chances at home and

1:42:44 Ashby Vining also having some difficulty

1:42:47 with that turf like we've seen from

1:42:49 Morgan and Antal. And it gets the

1:42:51 Bananas evened up again with the

1:42:53 Coconut's through five frames.

1:43:07 The celebration from the Bananas who

1:43:09 have tied this game at two.

1:43:12 Five innings behind us, four still to

1:43:14 play.

1:43:17 And J.T. Sokolove, it must have felt

1:43:19 real good to cross home plate.

1:43:22 First game played since March 14th as

1:43:24 you get another look. Yeah, that ball

1:43:26 hit too softly to turn two on Urso. Only

1:43:29 chance was

1:43:31 to gun down Sokolove at the dish.

1:43:34 But Vining

1:43:35 but Dynasti not able to make the scoop.

1:43:41 Five different songs the Bananas just

1:43:44 danced to. We went to a replay, they

1:43:45 were still dancing.

1:43:51 And I believe that there are some

1:43:53 mermaids spotted on the field. Another

1:43:56 look at the walk-off, and now let's see

1:43:58 what's happening with these mermaids.

1:44:01 >> Coco Beach, we bring the beach to you.

1:44:04 And that includes swimming. And right

1:44:06 now we're going to have a side versus

1:44:08 side race that you will not forget.

1:44:11 PLAYERS, BRING OUT THE MERMAIDS.

1:44:16 Representing the first base side is

1:44:18 mermaid Angelo. Representing the third

1:44:21 base side is mermaid Peyton. These two

1:44:24 beautiful mermaids are going to be

1:44:26 racing their way to this pool behind

1:44:28 home. The first one to flip, flop, and

1:44:31 splash their way in will be crowned the

1:44:34 mermaid of the game. Mermaids, in three,

1:44:37 two, one, flop. Here they go. They are

1:44:42 flopping their way. You need the water.

1:44:45 Get to the water. Your life depends on

1:44:48 it.

1:44:49 Mermaid Peyton is has a strong lead, and

1:44:52 splash.

1:44:55 Give it up for your mermaid of the game,

1:44:58 Peyton.

1:45:10 >> Can we get an instant replay

1:45:12 of that finish,

1:45:14 of Dynasti,

1:45:16 the grand conclusion to this mermaid

1:45:18 race again? I mean, how about the

1:45:19 all-out effort?

1:45:22 It cannot feel good bare belly on the

1:45:25 AstroTurf.

1:45:27 >> [laughter]

1:45:28 >> All

1:45:32 >> Oh, man.

1:45:33 >> We need to get consolation dipping dots

1:45:36 or something for these guys.

1:45:37 >> There's got to be something.

1:45:38 >> number nine, Ben Parker. It wouldn't

1:45:40 feel so good to win if defeat didn't

1:45:42 hurt so bad.

1:45:44 Brett Bester out for another inning of

1:45:46 relief.

1:45:48 Fastball misses to Ben Parker.

1:45:52 Meaty part of this Coconuts lineup,

1:45:54 three, four, and five. And as Ben yanks

1:45:55 it foul, look out, people. Keep an eye

1:45:58 on the game. Gosh, that had to hurt.

1:46:01 That was 100 mph plus off the bat. And

1:46:04 now, a chopper to KJ between the legs,

1:46:08 just in time to get the speedy pumps.

1:46:11 Parker now one for three on the evening.

1:46:14 >> And everything there has to be so fast

1:46:16 for Kyle Jackson. That was such an

1:46:18 incredible play. It looks really simple,

1:46:21 but you see quick transition between the

1:46:23 legs, and that was a dart across the

1:46:26 diamond to Max Young Goldberg. One of

1:46:28 the harder throws we have seen from Kyle

1:46:30 Jackson this year. As Bester's first

1:46:33 pitch is high and nowhere near the glove

1:46:36 of Bill Leroy, but Brewer, no attempt to

1:46:39 swipe first.

1:46:43 >> And right back to the fastball, this one

1:46:45 much closer to the zone.

1:46:49 Brewer, a pair of groundouts.

1:46:52 As he swings and misses on the slurve.

1:46:56 And is ahead three and one now.

1:46:59 Tied with Tanner Allen for the tour lead

1:47:01 with 13 extra base hits.

1:47:08 Brewer, a former Astros minor leaguer,

1:47:10 spent

1:47:11 five years in their farm system

1:47:14 after he was Big Ten Player of the Year

1:47:17 in 2019 at the University of Michigan.

1:47:19 And he's going to have himself a tour

1:47:22 leading 15th extra base hit. Thinking

1:47:24 about three of them. Relay from Cox. Not

1:47:27 in time. Good backup, Grant Bessar.

1:47:33 That saved a run.

1:47:35 As Brewer has himself his first career

1:47:37 triple.

1:47:38 >> And you have seen that so rarely happen

1:47:40 to the Savannah Bananas this season

1:47:43 because you don't see a lot of

1:47:44 three-ball pet counts that their

1:47:46 pitchers fall into again. When they're

1:47:47 playing as the home team, they have the

1:47:49 fewest ball four sprints allowed.

1:47:51 Instead, ball four sprint defense with

1:47:54 the Lexi Otis shaded in is able to pay

1:47:57 off for Loco Beach Brewer blasting that

1:48:00 over Lexi Otis's head. And now finds

1:48:03 himself a 90 ft away from scoring.

1:48:07 >> Front door bender for strike one. Bessar

1:48:08 follows it up with the fastball. Osberg

1:48:10 whiffs to it.

1:48:13 And right back up the shoot past the

1:48:15 dive of Cox who's on the right side of

1:48:18 the infield for the Osberg shift.

1:48:21 And Eric beats it.

1:48:23 Has himself his 18th run driven in this

1:48:26 year.

1:48:28 And the Coconut's offense are

1:48:29 relentless.

1:48:30 They continue to follow up earned points

1:48:33 from the Bananas

1:48:35 with runs scored

1:48:37 a frame later.

1:48:39 >> And Osberg's just gotten more and more

1:48:41 comfortable the longer this his Banana

1:48:43 Ball career has gone on as this one's

1:48:45 driven out to left field and that will

1:48:47 slice

1:48:49 foul. Giddy Yantel just thought he had

1:48:52 home runs in each of his last two series

1:48:55 for the Coconuts.

1:48:56 >> Well, that was nearly a carbon copy of

1:48:58 his ground rule double back in the

1:48:59 second down the left field line.

1:49:04 He bounces the slurve foul. He's behind

1:49:06 0-2.

1:49:08 One for two on the night.

1:49:10 And he tomahawks this out to left

1:49:12 center. Ratt can't get there in time.

1:49:14 Armani Henderson, the designated runner,

1:49:17 getting the windmill from Crocco.

1:49:19 No throw from Cox.

1:49:22 RBI double. Gideon Antell, his second

1:49:24 two-bagger of the night.

1:49:26 And now two runs across in the sixth for

1:49:29 Loco Beach.

1:49:33 >> I'm telling you, you said it earlier,

1:49:35 Dane Thompson could be the steal of the

1:49:36 draft. You could say the exact same

1:49:38 thing about Gideon Antell.

1:49:41 He's now got extra base hits in four of

1:49:44 six games in May for Loco Beach. And he

1:49:47 has six multi-hit games since the Banana

1:49:51 Ball Open in 10 total games.

1:49:55 >> Uh, he has been awesome to watch here in

1:49:57 his rookie campaign.

1:49:59 That guy is so much fun. Is this one

1:50:01 over the head of Besser? Olson cutting

1:50:02 across the diamond. Nice play, MJG, on

1:50:05 the one-hopper.

1:50:08 Taking care of Vining as Antell advances

1:50:11 to third.

1:50:12 And here's Gilly.

1:50:17 >> PITCHER,

1:50:20 DAKOTA STILTZ.

1:50:26 >> WELL, Dakota Stiltz, all Britton.

1:50:29 The tallest athlete on planet Earth

1:50:31 at 10 ft 11 in tall.

1:50:36 Gets the ball

1:50:39 from G Baby.

1:50:40 And after

1:50:42 getting at-bats in all three games in

1:50:44 Truist Park this past weekend,

1:50:47 toes the slab for the first time in 2

1:50:49 weeks.

1:50:54 Stiltz is much of a Banana Ball legend

1:50:56 as there is in the sport. This is sixth

1:50:58 world tour.

1:51:00 Kid out of Ellaville, Georgia.

1:51:03 If you pass it on the highway, you'll

1:51:05 see his sign under the town's name.

1:51:12 And JD Urso takes the tall ball loan

1:51:14 away.

1:51:21 Look out JD.

1:51:22 Oh my gosh.

1:51:25 >> [laughter]

1:51:26 >> Urso barking at Stilts.

1:51:33 RBI single his first time and Stilts

1:51:35 back in the count. Urso one for two on

1:51:37 the night.

1:51:41 He's got Intel on third.

1:51:44 And a 3-1 count now with two outs here

1:51:46 at the top of the sixth.

1:51:50 Two runs already home. Stilts trying to

1:51:52 keep it at just that.

1:51:56 Big swing and a miss.

1:51:58 Urso way ahead of it.

1:52:03 The payoff.

1:52:06 Foul ball. Look out Gideon.

1:52:09 Had to stick broke and Crocco

1:52:12 striking a squat pose over there.

1:52:16 He's way outside of the third base

1:52:18 coach's box. And Urso great piece of

1:52:20 hitting THE OPPOSITE WAY. It's another

1:52:22 RBI single for JD. His second of the

1:52:25 night and it's a three run inning now

1:52:28 for Loco Beach.

1:52:31 And it comes on four hits. Again, this

1:52:33 team

1:52:35 when they're playing as the away team,

1:52:36 the offense will hum and you're seeing

1:52:38 it here in the sixth inning a big

1:52:41 multi-run frame

1:52:43 and Stilts having a hard time finding

1:52:45 the strike zone on the first pitch. Did

1:52:47 not nail it against Urso and doesn't

1:52:49 here against Morgan.

1:52:53 Make it two balls and no strikes on

1:52:55 Grady. A strikeout and lineout so far

1:52:57 tonight.

1:52:58 Smoked the ball to left center his last

1:53:00 time. Nice play by Alexiades.

1:53:04 And Grady Morgan had three balls and no

1:53:06 strikes.

1:53:13 Four straight bad ones. He'll take the

1:53:14 ball for a sprint.

1:53:17 First one given up by the Bananas

1:53:18 pitching staff so far tonight. They get

1:53:20 it to all seven fielders behind the

1:53:22 pitcher and catcher in short order.

1:53:24 Making the ball live as Ursus goes first

1:53:26 to third. And Grady Morgan content with

1:53:29 one base on his sprint.

1:53:39 Fanshottony takes that one on the inside

1:53:42 corner.

1:53:43 Ground out and fly out so far tonight.

1:53:46 Runners on the corners. Three runs

1:53:47 already home.

1:53:49 And he BREAKS THIS ONE DOWN the left

1:53:52 field line. That's going to be extra

1:53:54 bases. Ursus scores easily. Morgan is

1:53:57 going to go first to third. RBI double

1:53:59 for Shotty.

1:54:01 And it's a four spot in the sixth now

1:54:03 for the Coconut.

1:54:05 >> That was a very similar piece of hitting

1:54:06 to what we saw from DR Meadows at the

1:54:08 start of this game tonight. Just able to

1:54:12 keep that barrel [music] through the

1:54:14 banana ball. Nearly a bit too early on

1:54:17 that pitch.

1:54:18 But slices it down the line and now

1:54:20 plates four for Loco Beach in the sixth

1:54:24 and they're still

1:54:25 threatening with Tanner Allen who hits

1:54:28 this one up the middle in the left

1:54:30 center field. And now six runs on the

1:54:33 board for the Coconut in inning number

1:54:36 six.

1:54:38 >> Morgan and Shottony both come across the

1:54:40 plate.

1:54:44 This has gone from bad to ugly for the

1:54:45 Bananas.

1:54:49 And it's

1:54:51 out of the frying pan into the fire. Now

1:54:53 you've got the defending player of the

1:54:54 week, Dane Topland.

1:54:58 The only player in the sport top five in

1:55:00 batting average, on base percentage, and

1:55:02 slugging.

1:55:04 .421 / .506 / .697

1:55:09 And he's got a jackknife out of the way

1:55:11 of a fastball high and tight.

1:55:18 Stilts uncharacteristically wild as he's

1:55:21 trying to escape, and Ty Jackson will

1:55:23 make sure that he finally does.

1:55:26 But three runs charged to Grant Besser,

1:55:29 three runs charged to Dakota Stilts, all

1:55:31 Britain

1:55:33 a six spot for the Coconuts

1:55:36 as they've got a golden opportunity

1:55:39 to retake the lead in the all-important

1:55:41 points department.

1:55:42 AJ Swiatek, what's going on down in the

1:55:45 field, my friend?

1:55:47 >> You know, there are over eight billion

1:55:49 people in this world, and I am here with

1:55:51 someone who has arguably the most unique

1:55:53 talent of all of them. Blake Bad Betty

1:55:55 Benson, Blake, you're a breakdancing

1:55:57 pitcher. That doesn't even feel like it

1:55:59 should be in the same sentence, but you

1:56:00 have invented your role. When did you

1:56:02 realize that your talents in the world

1:56:04 could merge on a baseball field?

1:56:06 >> Yeah, man, I from the age I can remember

1:56:08 as destined by the Lord, and then in

1:56:10 college I had a professor, "Hey, you try

1:56:11 out this banana ball thing. I think you

1:56:13 I seen you play ball, I've seen you

1:56:14 dance, might as well give it a shot." I

1:56:15 was like, "Ah, I guess so." And here I

1:56:17 am, you know, living the dream. And man,

1:56:19 I tell you what, it's pretty lonely at

1:56:20 the top, I tell you what.

1:56:21 >> I mean, pretty lonely out on this mound,

1:56:23 too. How about it? Banana ball, where

1:56:24 else are you going to see a guy getting

1:56:25 interviewed before he comes in to pitch?

1:56:27 Blake, your offense just gave you a

1:56:28 six-run cushion. Is that a nice

1:56:30 insurance policy?

1:56:31 >> Man, I'm going to show everybody, the

1:56:32 whole crowd, what kind of dancing I got,

1:56:35 give it the rest I got, and uh yeah,

1:56:36 we'll see how it goes.

1:56:37 >> Can we see a move for this warm-up

1:56:39 pitch?

1:56:40 This is what he does. This is what he

1:56:41 does.

1:56:54 Oh, yeah.

1:56:59 What a vantage point from our guy AJ as

1:57:02 Blake Benson

1:57:04 showing us

1:57:06 his legendary leg dancing.

1:57:08 >> now.

1:57:17 >> As you get a look at the Tanner Allen

1:57:20 two run single that put a cap

1:57:23 on the six run top of the sixth inning.

1:57:29 And really it all got ignited with that

1:57:31 Jordan Brewer triple against Grant

1:57:34 Bessert two of the big knocks in that

1:57:36 inning for Loco Beach and now Benson

1:57:39 with a pretty large inning lead and

1:57:41 judging by the earned run average he

1:57:43 really doesn't need it even if it was

1:57:45 just a one run lead. Blake Benson has

1:57:48 been phenomenal for Loco Beach that 1.46

1:57:51 earned run average currently second

1:57:53 among qualified pitchers in the Banana

1:57:55 Ball. Here in his first win of 2026 last

1:57:59 Friday against the Firefighters and he's

1:58:01 currently on a streak of six straight

1:58:03 scoreless innings for Loco Beach.

1:58:06 >> Yeah, it really puts it

1:58:07 into context. It's Danny Hasley and then

1:58:10 it's Blake Benson. Those are the two top

1:58:12 guys in the sport when it comes to

1:58:14 earned run average.

1:58:16 Benson a sophomore in the sport.

1:58:22 2025 Party Animal.

1:58:25 And boy has he come into his own here in

1:58:27 his second year in the sport. A 3-1

1:58:29 count on Max Young Goldberg. Dane

1:58:30 Toplin, welcome to the broadcast Banana

1:58:33 Land's newest big maple.

1:58:35 >> How we doing guys?

1:58:37 >> Make it 2.0 after Ryan Kellogg. We are

1:58:39 fantastic and you got to be feeling

1:58:42 pretty good after the six run top of the

1:58:43 inning you guys just had.

1:58:45 >> Yeah, it was good. I mean can't ask for

1:58:47 much more. Danny gets to come in now and

1:58:50 a lot less stress in a situation like

1:58:52 this, so it's nice.

1:58:54 >> Now Danny, we've said it a couple times

1:58:56 tonight, but you were named player of

1:58:57 the week last weekend. 6 for 12, three

1:59:00 home runs, you were a triple shy of the

1:59:02 cycle one night. What was clicking for

1:59:05 you in Wichita?

1:59:06 >> Uh you know, good weather there. I mean,

1:59:09 the ball was flying. That one barely

1:59:11 just snuck out that last game, but uh

1:59:14 I will say right now, I don't think I

1:59:17 will ever be a cycle this year.

1:59:20 Because those triples are hard to come

1:59:21 by for

1:59:24 >> 6' 4", 230, you don't think you can

1:59:26 rumble all your way to third?

1:59:28 >> Oh, maybe if I was 230, but I'm 250 now.

1:59:31 >> Okay, all right.

1:59:33 Okay, it always just baseball reference.

1:59:35 Yeah, that's that's fair, I guess.

1:59:37 You've got a lot of muscle after 5 years

1:59:39 of Indy ball, as DR Meadows has his

1:59:41 second knock of the night. MJ just

1:59:43 sneaks into second

1:59:45 ahead of the throw from Tanner Allen.

1:59:49 And couple men aboard

1:59:51 for the Bananas to start this bottom of

1:59:53 the sixth. They need to steal a long way

1:59:55 away

1:59:56 from bringing up

1:59:58 the inning-tying run as Robert Anthony

1:59:59 Cruz

2:00:01 tries to keep it going.

2:00:04 Robert Anthony Cruz, Big Slappy, makes

2:00:07 the brand new Papi happy!

2:00:10 Three-run shot!

2:00:12 Max's fifth of the year!

2:00:14 >> Oh, it got out quick, didn't it?

2:00:17 >> And he has retaken the team lead in home

2:00:20 runs with five of them this season. He

2:00:23 has now homered in

2:00:25 five straight regular season series for

2:00:28 the Savannah Bananas!

2:00:32 Sam Barmann, talk to that man.

2:00:35 >> Greg, hey, we saw your performance as a

2:00:37 dad out there. Hitting the home run now,

2:00:39 what more special to you?

2:00:41 >> Oh man, you know, always more special

2:00:42 holding the baby. I will say, name on

2:00:45 from that's what that was about right

2:00:46 there. Come on.

2:00:47 It's a great guy. Pretty good at hitting

2:00:49 a ball, too, guys.

2:00:50 >> I'm trying.

2:00:52 >> No lies said, SB.

2:00:56 Well, Dane, that breaks the tie that you

2:00:58 had with Ryan in home runs this year.

2:01:01 >> I'm sure that will be a back-and-forth

2:01:02 affair as as the year goes on.

2:01:05 I'm sure

2:01:06 >> Wow.

2:01:07 That's

2:01:08 >> I'm sure it will be.

2:01:09 >> And that's for Dane Oberst.

2:01:12 His second of the night.

2:01:14 And don't look now, but on the set of

2:01:16 the Bananas are one base runner away

2:01:18 from getting an innings-tying run to the

2:01:21 dish.

2:01:21 >> Yeah, we like to keep it interesting.

2:01:25 >> Reese McGuire autos

2:01:27 takes a strike as there's still no outs

2:01:29 here in the bottom of the sixth. Dane,

2:01:30 can you talk about the journey because I

2:01:33 mentioned it quickly, but 5 years of

2:01:35 Indy Pro Ball across the Frontier and

2:01:37 Pioneer League. How'd you find yourself

2:01:39 in Banana Land?

2:01:41 >> Um you know, I finished up

2:01:44 my last year in Rocky Mountain. Um and

2:01:47 you know, I was kind of ready to

2:01:49 call it a career and you know, maybe

2:01:52 start a family, you know. Um

2:01:56 and then

2:01:57 checking my Instagram one day when I'm

2:02:00 looking for jobs on Indeed and uh

2:02:04 I see a

2:02:05 a DM from Berry Aldridge.

2:02:07 >> Classic.

2:02:08 >> And I was like, well, I don't know Berry

2:02:09 Aldridge, so I guess I'll I'll read it.

2:02:12 And then it was uh

2:02:15 sure enough, he reached out and was

2:02:17 like, "Hey, man, would love to have you

2:02:18 come out for a tryout."

2:02:20 Told me the the spots and whatnot and I

2:02:22 was like, "All right, my man, I'll see

2:02:23 you in Nashville."

2:02:25 And then, you know, I had a good showing

2:02:27 there and

2:02:28 the rest is kind of history.

2:02:31 >> That easy.

2:02:33 >> Oh, yeah. I I won't lie, though. I mean,

2:02:35 the the Indy Ball grind is

2:02:37 it's not a lavish lifestyle.

2:02:40 >> Yes, I've

2:02:41 I've heard that's the case. What do you

2:02:43 think about the local beach lifestyle?

2:02:45 >> Oh, I love it. I love it, man. It's a

2:02:48 great

2:02:48 >> Do you think that this was the perfect

2:02:50 scenario for you as far as the teams and

2:02:52 the men of all go?

2:02:53 >> I I really do. Um I really enjoy it

2:02:56 here. I'd love to be here as long as I

2:02:59 can, you know?

2:03:00 Uh-oh.

2:03:01 >> Oh, that's a ball for a strike from KJ

2:03:03 and we'll drive in over first from

2:03:05 second and Kyle Jackson knows that he

2:03:08 just got the inning-tying run to the

2:03:09 plate. So,

2:03:10 >> he's taking no chances. Good sprint

2:03:12 defense

2:03:13 from Dane and the Coconut's.

2:03:16 And Bill LeRoy.

2:03:18 >> I love I love it here. Um I got no

2:03:20 complaints, man. I mean

2:03:22 just want to get my wife down here and

2:03:24 keep going, you know? She's still up in

2:03:26 Indiana.

2:03:27 So, shout out to her for supporting me

2:03:29 right

2:03:29 >> Heck, yeah.

2:03:33 Oh, Bill trying to tie the inning.

2:03:34 >> That was a good score.

2:03:35 >> Yeah, he came up empty.

2:03:41 >> There we go.

2:03:42 >> Too much air under it to leave the yard

2:03:45 as Brady Morgan

2:03:47 has out number two. KJ retreats back to

2:03:49 first.

2:03:53 >> I know, but

2:03:56 >> Now, Dane might

2:03:58 Canadian geographical knowledge isn't

2:04:00 tremendous. Uh how far is Grande Prairie

2:04:03 from the beach?

2:04:05 >> Oh,

2:04:06 oh, obviously it depends on the beach,

2:04:07 but

2:04:09 far. Far from every single one of them.

2:04:13 No, it's uh so, where I'm from is

2:04:17 where I'm from is we're about 15 minutes

2:04:18 from the British Columbia border. In a

2:04:21 little town called Valhalla Centre.

2:04:23 Um

2:04:25 I

2:04:25 real small class. I had three people in

2:04:27 my grade when I was in grade school.

2:04:29 >> Wow.

2:04:30 >> Um

2:04:31 but uh

2:04:33 Yeah, we're uh we're above Montana. So,

2:04:35 I mean, it's way and way north of all of

2:04:38 them, but it's up there.

2:04:41 So, it's uh it's far from every beach.

2:04:43 We'll say that.

2:04:44 >> Yeah, that That makes That makes sense

2:04:46 to me. We've got an 0-2 count on Alex

2:04:48 Ziegler.

2:04:49 After the back trickster

2:04:52 showing off all the moves coming up.

2:04:53 Backflip

2:04:54 Benson!

2:04:56 Ziegler spoils it.

2:05:00 Ziegler represents the inning-tying run.

2:05:03 Only one home run in his career is at

2:05:05 Clemson, South Carolina.

2:05:07 April 26th of last year.

2:05:12 Another backflip pitch!

2:05:15 >> Yeah.

2:05:15 >> Called strike three!

2:05:17 Blake Benson, you are ridiculous!

2:05:21 And he'll show off the moves.

2:05:23 Coconuts win the inning and lead 3-2.

2:05:25 Dane Toplin, thank you so much, man.

2:05:27 >> All right, thank you guys. Appreciate

2:05:29 y'all having me.

2:05:29 >> Thank you very much, Dane.

2:05:38 So, a 3-2 Coconuts lead. Six innings in

2:05:41 the books. That was a barn burner of a

2:05:43 sixth inning. 10 runs scored between the

2:05:45 two teams. And talk about a squad that

2:05:49 can swing the sticks. Loco Beach

2:05:51 Coconuts, 239

2:05:55 hits.

2:05:57 Can carry the one there, everybody. I

2:05:59 mean, that is

2:06:01 just crazy stuff.

2:06:04 43 more hits than any other team in the

2:06:06 sport.

2:06:07 With the clowns, firefighters, and party

2:06:09 animals all well behind Loco Beach.

2:06:12 I mean, you've just seen this team.

2:06:14 They've gotten to play a lot of games as

2:06:16 the visiting squad. It's truly helped

2:06:18 them out, but even when they play as the

2:06:20 home team, you still see just as much

2:06:23 incredible stuff from this team as you

2:06:26 now see the athletics from Blake Benson

2:06:29 on the pitcher's mound. And as far as

2:06:31 I'm concerned, that is a trick pitch

2:06:33 strikeout for me. I know we talk about

2:06:35 fluidity, but Benson

2:06:37 back to the rubber quickly enough,

2:06:39 especially with as difficult as that

2:06:41 pitch is to execute. That is a trick

2:06:44 pitch strikeout and another trick play

2:06:45 in this ballgame for Loco Beach. That

2:06:48 means it's his third trick pitch

2:06:50 strikeout of the year, and therefore his

2:06:51 third trick play. As you get a look at

2:06:53 the numbers

2:06:55 on the Banana Ball rookie, Jacob Bazel

2:06:59 Nanners 10th round draft pick.

2:07:02 And another guy in that Antel and Toflin

2:07:04 conversation as far as some of the best

2:07:06 deals in that draft. Yeah, Jacob Bazel

2:07:09 has been amazing pitching for the 11th

2:07:11 time this year. Last weekend in Atlanta,

2:07:14 he pitched in two games. He left four

2:07:16 ball four sprints, but also struck out

2:07:19 four batters, and he didn't allow a

2:07:21 single hit. He's got a 169 opponents

2:07:24 batting average, and that is best in

2:07:27 Banana Ball.

2:07:28 Check swing, Ben Barker did not go

2:07:31 around, according to Kelly Dan, the

2:07:33 first base umpire.

2:07:34 So, a ball and a strike

2:07:37 on the Coconuts DH.

2:07:40 Coconuts batted around in that six-run

2:07:42 sixth inning. Parker started it with a

2:07:44 groundout to third.

2:07:46 And it was the one-out triple from

2:07:48 Jordan Brewer that got the

2:07:50 merry-go-round spinning.

2:07:55 Pumps one for three on the evening.

2:07:57 RBI single back in the third inning

2:07:59 ended up being the difference.

2:08:01 And the Coconuts their second point.

2:08:05 And Split

2:08:06 showing off his bodybuilder-worthy

2:08:09 frame.

2:08:12 Tip Drill Alexiades,

2:08:14 here to take care of the Coconuts usual

2:08:17 center fielder, getting a half night

2:08:19 off, still coming back

2:08:20 from that injury.

2:08:25 And Alexiades his second trick play the

2:08:27 affair so far.

2:08:30 One piece celebration.

2:08:36 And here's the aforementioned Jordan

2:08:38 Brewer.

2:08:39 THAT BALL IS ANNIHILATED. OH, WATCH it

2:08:43 soar.

2:08:44 On top of THE LEFT FIELD LANDING.

2:08:47 JORDAN BREWER, A BEHEMOTH BLAST FOR HIS

2:08:50 FOURTH HOMER this year.

2:09:00 That ball obliterated off the back of

2:09:04 Jordan Brewer. AJ's got him.

2:09:06 Are you kidding me?

2:09:07 >> Hey.

2:09:08 What can I say except you're welcome.

2:09:11 >> Hey, hey Jordan.

2:09:13 Tell the fans, everyone at home, how far

2:09:15 did that ball just go?

2:09:16 >> I don't think it's landed yet.

2:09:18 It's still up there. You see it?

2:09:19 >> Yeah, it's up there. You see it? It's

2:09:20 over the trees. With the UFOs.

2:09:22 >> Hey, you're welcome for that. Jordan

2:09:24 Brewer, home ball.

2:09:27 Let's go.

2:09:29 >> Thanks to AJ's mid home run trot

2:09:31 interview,

2:09:33 this has to be the longest home run trot

2:09:35 in Banana Ball history.

2:09:41 >> [music]

2:09:45 >> Oh my goodness.

2:09:48 Brack never even thought about moving.

2:09:50 Only the second home run allowed by Jake

2:09:53 Bazala this year, the first to not come

2:09:55 in a football stadium.

2:09:58 I'm telling you, Jordan Brewer got all

2:10:00 of that banana ball and more.

2:10:05 KJ cutting across the diamond, can't

2:10:08 make the play on what's an infield

2:10:10 single for Eric Asberg.

2:10:15 An RBI knock his last time, he's now two

2:10:17 for four on the night. And Armani

2:10:20 Henderson, the designated runner,

2:10:22 out there for a third time. He can pinch

2:10:25 run every trip through the order for the

2:10:27 Coconuts. Pazela will check on him.

2:10:30 Wisely so. Armani, the team leader, nine

2:10:32 steals. He's only been caught three

2:10:33 times.

2:10:40 And a slider in there for strike one to

2:10:42 Gideon Antell. Two for three, two

2:10:44 doubles, a run driven in, two runs

2:10:46 scored.

2:10:55 Armani, well, he was dancing towards

2:10:57 second, and he is picked off.

2:11:00 Henderson

2:11:02 wants Mark Crocco to challenge.

2:11:05 We'll see what the Coconuts do. Yep,

2:11:07 they're going to challenge.

2:11:17 Tell you what, the kid out of Johnston,

2:11:19 Rhode Island, was dancing towards

2:11:20 second. It was the perfect time for

2:11:22 Pazela

2:11:23 to check on him.

2:11:25 But to the naked eye, I did think Armani

2:11:28 got back.

2:11:32 And on the first look at the replay,

2:11:35 I think my view live was correct.

2:11:38 You need clear evidence to overturn the

2:11:40 call on the field, though.

2:11:43 So, if we can slow it down, that's a

2:11:45 pretty darn good angle.

2:11:54 Mhm. Hands, bang, bang.

2:11:57 Maybe a little too blurry is the issue

2:12:00 from that left field angle.

2:12:04 When does Armani touch first base?

2:12:14 Tough to tell behind that right foot,

2:12:16 this is probably it.

2:12:20 Oh, man.

2:12:27 Oh, [ __ ] It's really tight.

2:12:30 >> I got to keep saying it.

2:12:30 >> I

2:12:31 With that angle, the last look, it does

2:12:34 look like Henderson's got a hand back on

2:12:36 that bag before you see Young Goldberg

2:12:39 applying a tag.

2:12:40 >> I agree.

2:12:42 >> You see it right there.

2:12:43 >> After further review,

2:12:45 the ruling on the field is

2:12:48 overturned.

2:12:52 >> Yeah, Hunt arrives.

2:12:54 And crew chief Jake Moore,

2:12:57 after taking the time to look at it,

2:12:59 they agree with us in the booth. Call is

2:13:01 overturned, so the Coconuts retain their

2:13:03 challenge for the game.

2:13:05 And

2:13:06 that was Taylor right back after

2:13:07 Henderson.

2:13:16 Big swing and a miss on the slider

2:13:19 for Antel, who's behind one and two now.

2:13:26 And knobs that one foul.

2:13:31 Tell you what, Armani, who was an

2:13:33 honorary member of the Visitors team

2:13:35 last year,

2:13:37 earned his way onto this Coconut squad

2:13:39 as their designated runner. He has been

2:13:41 terrific for them.

2:13:43 Came in tonight with 30 run 31 runs

2:13:46 scored, leading the Banana Ball

2:13:47 Championship League.

2:13:48 >> And again, when you're playing on the

2:13:50 team that has the most hits, that's a

2:13:52 lot of opportunities for you to run. So,

2:13:54 things working out incredibly well for

2:13:56 Henderson as Antel locks this one into

2:13:59 center field. Alexiades will tip this

2:14:02 one up, and Holliday in himself as he

2:14:05 offers a throw back to first base, and

2:14:08 Henderson will slide back in safely.

2:14:15 So now things getting even closer when

2:14:17 it comes to the trick plays. Eight for

2:14:19 Loco Beach and seven for the Savannah

2:14:22 Bananas right now. They have slowly but

2:14:25 surely

2:14:26 tightened that gap. And the Bananas are

2:14:29 guaranteed four more defensive outs. The

2:14:31 Coconuts have up to six more defensive

2:14:34 outs

2:14:35 if they can keep the Nanners from a

2:14:36 walk-off in the seventh or eighth. There

2:14:38 goes Armani Larue BEHIND THE BACK

2:14:40 TRANSFER.

2:14:42 OH, A TRICK PLAY FROM BILL LARUE to knot

2:14:45 this game at trick plays

2:14:47 as he catches Henderson stealing second.

2:14:50 Unbelievable

2:14:51 throw from Bill Larue and that is his

2:14:54 first trick PLAY OF 2026.

2:14:57 YOU SEE THE QUICK TRANSITION and feed

2:15:00 into the hand AND HENDERSON, A DEAD DUCK

2:15:04 AT SECOND BASE.

2:15:06 >> WE'VE SEEN a lot of dancing tonight from

2:15:08 our players. It's time we see some from

2:15:10 our fans. I've got Ron, Steve, John, and

2:15:12 Cole right here and they're going to be

2:15:14 dancing for you blindfolded. We're going

2:15:16 to eliminate them until we get down to

2:15:18 the final two and you will decide who

2:15:19 does it the best. This is called dancing

2:15:22 in the dark. Fellows, on your marks, get

2:15:25 set, dance.

2:15:28 >> Here we go. Here we go.

2:15:30 Okay.

2:15:34 All right. We've got our first

2:15:35 elimination.

2:15:37 We're down to three here.

2:15:40 We're down to three. Now we're down to

2:15:42 two. We are down to two. Oh man, this is

2:15:46 going to be a tough call.

2:15:48 Ron's in it. John's in it.

2:15:51 Ron's in it and John's in it. Oh man,

2:15:53 who's going to be it? Oh, this is coming

2:15:55 down TO THE FINAL TWO. I NEED you to get

2:15:56 as crazy as you can. I need you to go

2:15:59 nuts. It's Ron versus John. Who's it

2:16:02 going to be? Show me your best moves.

2:16:05 Show me your best moves.

2:16:07 Oh my gosh, it's 3 2 1.

2:16:11 Hey Ron, hey Ron, you can take the

2:16:12 blindfold off.

2:16:14 Uh you've been out here for about the

2:16:15 last minute all by yourself getting it.

2:16:17 Give it up for Ron, WINNER of Dancing in

2:16:20 the Dark.

2:16:24 >> Son of a gun, I never could have

2:16:25 imagined that guy was dancing all by

2:16:28 himself.

2:16:30 A gorgeous sunset

2:16:32 over Grayson Stadium.

2:16:36 And the 338th

2:16:39 Check that. Switch those numbers around.

2:16:41 383rd Banana Ball game ever played as

2:16:43 Joe Filomeno Meatball, Cicero, Illinois'

2:16:46 finest.

2:16:48 3 years at the University of Louisville,

2:16:50 5 years in the Texas Rangers minor

2:16:52 league system.

2:16:54 Couple years in the American

2:16:55 Association, even playing over

2:16:58 in the ABL, the Brisbane Bandits down in

2:17:02 Australia.

2:17:04 Well, hadn't played baseball since 2019

2:17:06 and he is starting to find his form here

2:17:08 in Banana Ball.

2:17:11 Good friend of

2:17:12 Bret Helton and Karrel Prime's,

2:17:14 teammates of theirs on the

2:17:15 Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks in that 2019

2:17:18 season.

2:17:20 Hard-throwing southpaw.

2:17:24 And that one tomahawks by Jackson. Urso

2:17:27 behind-the-back transfer, no chance. As

2:17:30 Ty beats the rap, the official scoring

2:17:32 decision. That's an infield single. I

2:17:33 agree.

2:17:38 Appreciate the attempt from Urso.

2:17:41 Ty showing off the wheels as a board for

2:17:42 the second time tonight. He's one for

2:17:44 two. He had been hit by a pitch his last

2:17:46 time and here's Jackson Olson, who's

2:17:49 only seen two pitches tonight. Grounded

2:17:51 out back in the third inning, trick play

2:17:52 by Brewer.

2:17:54 And then grounded into the walk-off

2:17:56 fielder's choice to win the fifth

2:17:58 inning. As Ty shows off the dance moves

2:18:01 at first.

2:18:06 And there's

2:18:09 the first pitch taken tonight from

2:18:11 Jackie.

2:18:15 Olsen

2:18:17 will watch Ty Jackson swipe second base.

2:18:20 Ty two fly a perfect six for six in

2:18:22 steals this year.

2:18:24 And just like that, a 2-0 count on

2:18:26 Olsen.

2:18:28 And the inning-winning run in scoring

2:18:30 position. Jackie has earned four ball

2:18:32 four sprints this year.

2:18:37 Although he loves swinging the bat as

2:18:39 you can see on the fastball high and

2:18:40 tight right there.

2:18:49 That is a good take on the heater down

2:18:51 and away. Filimino one bad one away

2:18:54 from losing this inning awful quickly.

2:19:00 Of course not. Can't lose the inning.

2:19:02 That's the inning-tying run in on second

2:19:04 base. Jordan Brewer solo home run.

2:19:12 Payoff pitch.

2:19:15 That one does not find the zone.

2:19:17 And Olsen will tie this frame

2:19:20 with the ball four sprint, his second

2:19:22 run driven in tonight.

2:19:26 Make it a run each in the seventh.

2:19:29 And JT Sokolove, the Bananas designated

2:19:32 runner, will take over for Jackie over

2:19:34 on first base.

2:19:35 >> Again, they're running wild against

2:19:36 Ashby Bininger Loco Beach right now.

2:19:38 Makes a lot of sense to try and put more

2:19:40 pressure on these CocoNuts as Filimino

2:19:44 gives Sokolove a quick look before

2:19:46 delivering ball one to MJG.

2:19:55 Make it 2-0 on young A ball four sprint

2:19:58 his last time.

2:20:01 Ground it out.

2:20:02 Back in the third inning. Another check

2:20:04 on Sokolov.

2:20:06 Who has two stolen bases this year

2:20:08 across those first four games of the

2:20:10 season.

2:20:15 Look out.

2:20:18 That one gets a piece of Young Goldberg.

2:20:19 Filomino wondering if it got the knob of

2:20:21 the bat.

2:20:27 Another look.

2:20:30 It's tough to tell on the first angle. I

2:20:32 mean, it could have clipped that elbow

2:20:33 guard of Maxim Goldberg. It did kind of

2:20:36 have a kind of have a solid sound to it.

2:20:38 >> Yes, it did.

2:20:40 >> And for Joe Filomino, this is not what

2:20:42 we've seen a lot of recently. The end of

2:20:44 March, five sprints to three strikeouts.

2:20:46 But ever since then, seven strikeouts,

2:20:49 only four ball four sprints if you

2:20:51 include the one he delivered to Jackson

2:20:54 Olson. And that is a much needed first

2:20:57 pitch strike for Meatball.

2:21:02 DR Meadows on a hop to Toflin between

2:21:04 the legs. There's one at third across

2:21:06 the diamond. No scoop from Brewer.

2:21:12 And an interesting one there because

2:21:14 that shouldn't actually be a trick play

2:21:16 for Toflin. Am I correct? It It depends

2:21:19 on if the ball left his hand in any

2:21:21 capacity.

2:21:22 >> It did not.

2:21:23 >> an unassisted trick play like that, the

2:21:25 ball has to be leaving your hands.

2:21:27 >> Right.

2:21:27 >> And I don't believe it did.

2:21:29 >> On the first look, it did not.

2:21:31 >> It went straight from the hand to the

2:21:33 glove. As this one's bounced to Toflin,

2:21:35 and he will go right back to third base

2:21:37 across the diamond.

2:21:38 Rack able

2:21:40 to beat the throw.

2:21:41 Back-to-back

2:21:43 five unassisted fielder's choices.

2:21:48 And now Dan Obers will take his turn

2:21:50 swinging it

2:21:51 with the inning winning run in scoring

2:21:52 position.

2:22:00 Filomino

2:22:02 shirtless. Oberst shirtless.

2:22:07 Titans clash sans jerseys

2:22:11 with the fate of the seventh inning on

2:22:13 the line.

2:22:15 Big swing and a miss fastball right down

2:22:17 the chute.

2:22:21 Danny O two for three.

2:22:23 Scored the inning winning run all the

2:22:24 way back in the first.

2:22:27 And does not expand the zone.

2:22:39 Swinging a miss.

2:22:41 Beautiful bender from Meatball.

2:22:46 And he's a strike away

2:22:49 from getting out of this inning with the

2:22:50 Coconuts maintaining that lead.

2:22:53 Good spoil from Oberst.

2:23:02 Meadows on second normally great speed

2:23:04 but only about 90%

2:23:06 on that right hamstring. And Oberst just

2:23:08 wind up breaking his bat fouling off

2:23:11 that pitch from Filomino. Now using a

2:23:13 piece of lumber courtesy of Reese Olson

2:23:15 in the on deck circle.

2:23:18 Another one two.

2:23:20 High fly ball

2:23:22 deep out to left center. Grady Morgan

2:23:25 for out number three.

2:23:28 Nanners strand the inning winning run on

2:23:30 second

2:23:31 but denied the Coconuts their fourth

2:23:33 point of the ball game.

2:23:36 And it's three two

2:23:38 going to the eighth inning. We are tied

2:23:41 at eight trick plays a piece with the

2:23:43 Coconuts hunting the equalizer point.

2:23:46 They will need to finish this frame with

2:23:48 more trick plays than the Bananas on the

2:23:51 ball game.

2:23:53 And really,

2:23:54 it's as good as 0-0 in trick plays.

2:23:56 Coconuts, a great opportunity to claim

2:23:58 the point that only the away team can

2:23:59 get.

2:24:00 >> And this is where you're just trying to

2:24:02 maximize things as much as you can.

2:24:04 Again, the Coconuts jumped out to such

2:24:06 an early lead when it's come to these

2:24:09 trick plays, but the Bananas have six in

2:24:13 their last three innings offensively.

2:24:16 And we saw that three trick play seventh

2:24:18 inning from them capped off with the

2:24:19 Bill Wroy behind-the-back transition as

2:24:22 he caught Armani Henderson stealing.

2:24:25 Now, it's time to see whether Bazemore

2:24:28 is going to try and pitch to contact or

2:24:30 whether he continues to strike out a lot

2:24:33 of batters as his K rate this season is

2:24:36 above 25% or at least it was entering

2:24:40 play tonight.

2:24:42 >> Yeah, it's pretty elite.

2:24:44 Super banana ball.

2:24:50 There are only eight pitchers in the

2:24:52 sport

2:24:53 with a strikeout percentage

2:24:55 25% or better. Seven of them are

2:24:58 qualified pitchers.

2:25:04 It's Vining, Urso,

2:25:06 and Morgan.

2:25:11 Seven, eight, and nine in this lineup.

2:25:16 As Loco Beach looking for some

2:25:17 insurance.

2:25:25 As it's a ball and a strike on their

2:25:27 catcher, one for three, strikeout and a

2:25:29 groundout

2:25:31 for the pride of Lexington, South

2:25:33 Carolina. As this one is off the end of

2:25:34 the bat, great double trick play

2:25:36 opportunity for the Bananas. Tip from

2:25:38 Cox, and Olsen catches it the

2:25:40 old-fashioned way. So, just one trick

2:25:42 play on the play.

2:25:45 The glove magician gets it and the

2:25:47 Bananas are ahead 9-8 in trick plays.

2:25:50 Another look.

2:25:58 J.D. Erso

2:26:13 Back-to-back splitters

2:26:15 and a quick 0-2 count

2:26:17 on Erso. Two for three, two runs driven

2:26:20 in and a run scored.

2:26:24 Foul and a miss on the high heat

2:26:27 and quick outs

2:26:30 for Bazela here in his second inning of

2:26:32 work.

2:26:34 One trick play and a strikeout, you'll

2:26:35 take both of those right now if you're

2:26:37 the Savannah Bananas. Honestly, you got

2:26:40 to hope a little bit more if you're

2:26:42 Tyler Gillman that environment that

2:26:44 somehow this ball gets put in play from

2:26:46 Grady Morgan and can turn in to one more

2:26:49 just to give you a little bit more

2:26:50 breathing room.

2:26:52 Heater just misses

2:26:55 to the Coconut center fielder.

2:27:00 As the slider gets the top of the zone

2:27:02 evening up the count. Strikeout,

2:27:04 lineout, ball four sprint and a run

2:27:06 scored in that six-run sixth inning.

2:27:09 And it is currently the difference in

2:27:11 this ball game as that splitter

2:27:13 baffles another Coconut hitter. Bazela

2:27:16 with a 1-2 count, you'd want to see a

2:27:17 trick pitch attempted and he does.

2:27:20 Fastball's yanked down and in though.

2:27:22 Smart play by Jacob Bazela. And look,

2:27:25 he's still got another ball to play

2:27:26 with. I would do the exact same thing if

2:27:28 I were him.

2:27:32 Swing and a miss. Back to the splitter,

2:27:34 gets the strikeout, but only one trick

2:27:37 play for the Bananas in the top of the

2:27:39 eighth. It will only take two trick

2:27:41 plays from the Cocos in the bottom half

2:27:44 to get the equalizer point and make it a

2:27:47 4-2 lead going into our final frame. The

2:27:50 only other

2:27:52 thing going here, the Bananas one run

2:27:53 away from tying this game.

2:27:58 >> Those cell phone flashlights out and

2:28:01 your singing voices turned on cuz it's

2:28:03 time for yellow.

2:28:10 >> [music]

2:28:20 [music]

2:28:26 >> Sing it loud, Savannah, Georgia.

2:28:33 >> [music]

2:28:39 [music]

2:28:44 >> And what was it called?

2:28:53 >> [music]

2:29:00 [music]

2:29:05 [music]

2:29:20 [music]

2:29:26 >> We love you so much, Banana Nation. And

2:29:29 my friend Clara has something to say

2:29:30 too.

2:29:31 >> Go, Bananas!

2:29:40 >> Heck of a scene

2:29:42 here in our wonderful city by the sea.

2:29:46 The third ever battle

2:29:48 between the Coconuts and Bananas goes to

2:29:51 the bottom of the eighth inning. Loco

2:29:53 Beach leading by a point.

2:29:55 A 3-2 advantage. Joe Filomeno

2:29:59 bent but did not break in the seventh.

2:30:02 Allowed a run on the infield single

2:30:06 and stolen base by Ty Jackson and then

2:30:08 ball four sprint by Jackson Olson.

2:30:13 But Meatball stranded the inning winning

2:30:15 run in scoring position.

2:30:17 And now he's got Alexiades, KJ, and

2:30:19 LeRoy here in the last of the eighth

2:30:21 inning with his squad two trick plays

2:30:23 away from earning the equalizer point.

2:30:25 Last season, Reese Alexiades, he was

2:30:27 tied for the most home runs in Grayson

2:30:30 Stadium with four of them. He's got the

2:30:32 matchup advantage against the

2:30:34 left-hander. Honestly, the most team

2:30:36 first thing he can do right now is try

2:30:38 and just take big swings, unload against

2:30:41 Filomeno. Not only do you earn a point

2:30:44 and the walk-off, you keep the Coconuts

2:30:46 from earning the equalizer point at the

2:30:48 same time.

2:30:50 2-0

2:30:53 Bender just misses down.

2:30:58 Walk-off ball four sprint to win the

2:31:00 first inning for Super Reese. Since

2:31:02 then, a ground out into the only double

2:31:05 trick play of the ball game for the

2:31:06 Coconuts and a strikeout.

2:31:11 He earns the ball four sprint here.

2:31:13 Alexiades can fly. Coconuts got to get

2:31:15 it to all seven fielders behind the

2:31:16 pitcher and catcher in short order. They

2:31:18 do exactly that.

2:31:20 And Super Reese, with respect

2:31:23 to the Coconuts sprint defense, only

2:31:25 gets one base.

2:31:33 Filomeno selects Alexiades. Now that

2:31:34 I've reached base, I'm putting pressure

2:31:36 on Ashby binding again. Bananas four

2:31:38 stolen bases tonight. They still haven't

2:31:40 been caught stealing. I am trying to do

2:31:42 everything I can to get into scoring

2:31:44 position.

2:31:46 And that makes them 17 for 18 in stolen

2:31:50 base tries against the Coconuts this

2:31:51 year.

2:31:55 Goes back to the two-game set these two

2:31:57 teams had in Petco Park in San Diego.

2:32:02 Back on March 21st and 22nd.

2:32:06 And now Kyle Jackson ahead two and one,

2:32:08 a perfect night offensively.

2:32:10 Single, double, and RBI ball for Sprint.

2:32:15 And a check on Alexiades. Smart move by

2:32:18 Filomeno.

2:32:29 Bounding ball, foul.

2:32:39 Massive 2-2 pitch

2:32:42 from the Banana Ball rookie Joe Filomeno

2:32:47 to one of the Banana superstars in Kyle

2:32:49 Jackson.

2:32:54 Wow.

2:32:55 Heck of a breaking ball and what a spoil

2:32:57 by KJ.

2:33:00 I mean, a lot of late movement on that

2:33:02 pitch from Joe Filomeno. Jackson an

2:33:04 impressive swing just to keep himself

2:33:06 alive in this count.

2:33:08 Another 2-2.

2:33:10 Fastball fouled away. Toplin in pursuit.

2:33:14 Does he have room? No, and the fans

2:33:16 don't make the catch either.

2:33:19 There's a world where that kind of helps

2:33:20 you if you're Loco Beach,

2:33:23 keeps you still with a chance to earn

2:33:26 three outs in this inning without the

2:33:27 fan out counting for one of them, and

2:33:29 give you more trick play opportunities.

2:33:43 And another 2-2.

2:33:45 Liner out to left, it's going to fall

2:33:48 in. KJ 3 for 3, aboard for the fourth

2:33:51 time tonight.

2:33:53 Just flares it in front of Tanner Allen,

2:33:56 and pushes that inning winning run up to

2:33:58 second base.

2:34:08 Bill Leroy looks to play hero.

2:34:13 Big swing and a miss.

2:34:15 Expanded his zone on the fastball.

2:34:19 One for three tonight.

2:34:23 And the center cut heater fouled

2:34:25 straight back. Great job by Filimoeatu

2:34:27 to jump ahead.

2:34:32 The 0-2.

2:34:34 Chopped the opposite way. Urso spinning

2:34:36 to second for one WITH THE TRICK PLAY.

2:34:38 OH, SCHAU TONYE AIRMAILS IT, AND

2:34:40 ALEXIADES SCORES!

2:34:43 THE BANANAS TIE THIS GAME AT THREE

2:34:45 POINTS EACH, and the Coconuts and tied

2:34:49 in trick plays 9-9. So, we've got

2:34:52 ourselves a tied game going to our final

2:34:55 frame. That is heartbreaking for the

2:34:58 Loco Beach Coconuts. Peyton Schau Tonye,

2:35:02 the throw nowhere near Jordan Brewer,

2:35:05 and now things incredibly interesting

2:35:07 going to the ninth.

2:35:10 The sound of the bells means it's time

2:35:11 to cast our gaze upon the scoreboard.

2:35:14 Heading into the top of the ninth

2:35:15 inning, after the Bananas won the

2:35:17 eighth, WE ARE ALL KNOTTED UP. THREE

2:35:20 POINTS FOR THE Savannah Bananas and

2:35:22 three points for the Loco Beets Coconut.

2:35:24 But, here's the thing about the game of

2:35:25 Banana Ball. In the final inning, every

2:35:29 run counts for a point. That means the

2:35:32 pressure is on for both teams. If we are

2:35:35 still tied at the completion of the

2:35:37 ninth inning, it will force a one-on-one

2:35:40 showdown tiebreaker. Now, Savannah,

2:35:43 Georgia, I need you to get as loud AS

2:35:47 YOU CAN BECAUSE THIS IS THE FINAL

2:35:51 >> [screaming]

2:35:52 >> INNING.

2:35:54 >> [music]

2:36:01 >> DANNY HASLEY

2:36:03 YOUNG MAN.

2:36:05 >> [music]

2:36:11 >> Danny Hasley, even he knows how to

2:36:14 dissect the mouth of one word. He

2:36:16 is absolutely dialed in on that

2:36:19 pitcher's mound.

2:36:21 >> [music]

2:36:28 >> Oh, three.

2:36:31 >> [music]

2:36:35 >> Strike it is.

2:36:36 Hasley with a huge K.

2:36:38 >> [music]

2:36:41 >> Hasley sticks with it.

2:36:43 Closes the gas pipe.

2:36:45 >> [music]

2:36:52 [music]

2:36:53 >> To the ninth inning we go. Danny Hasley

2:36:56 this past Sunday had his 28 straight

2:36:59 innings without an earned run streak

2:37:01 snapped

2:37:02 by the Party Animals

2:37:04 on the Jason Swan walk-off double to win

2:37:07 the series. Now, he looks to start the

2:37:10 streak anew.

2:37:12 >> Yeah, it's extra chip on Danny Hasley's

2:37:14 shoulder.

2:37:15 I know something he really wasn't all

2:37:17 that used to, but

2:37:19 for Hasley, still the guy leading the

2:37:22 tour in strikeout rate.

2:37:23 >> Ladies and gentlemen, it's now time for

2:37:25 the Coconut to announce their golden

2:37:26 batter.

2:37:27 >> Beach Coconuts are invoking the golden

2:37:30 batter rule.

2:37:31 Hitting in place of Peyton Shotgun

2:37:34 YEAGER IS YOUR GOLDEN BATTER, JORDAN

2:37:40 >> [screaming]

2:37:44 >> JORDAN Brewer

2:37:46 No jersey needed here in our final

2:37:49 frame.

2:37:50 Steps in for Shotgun Yeager in the 10

2:37:52 hole

2:37:53 with Tanner Allen on deck and Dane

2:37:55 Toplin in the hole.

2:37:57 >> And he has the potential, if the

2:37:59 Coconuts can keep the line moving, to

2:38:00 bat twice this inning against Danny

2:38:02 Hasley. You see, this is the fourth time

2:38:04 he's appeared as the golden batter for

2:38:06 Loco Beach and he is 0 for 3, three fly

2:38:10 outs in his golden batter opportunities

2:38:12 in 2026.

2:38:16 A triple and a moon shot double.

2:38:20 Triple A triple and a moon shot home run

2:38:23 is what I meant to say. His last two

2:38:24 plate appearances.

2:38:28 That was a really good looking Vulcan

2:38:30 change. Didn't get the call on the 0-1

2:38:32 offering. Now it's 2-1.

2:38:34 And a broken bat, Kyle Jackson

2:38:38 to MJG for out number one.

2:38:44 A soft contact sounded like a potential

2:38:47 broken bat from Jordan Brewer. Hasley

2:38:49 continuing to pitch inside to the

2:38:52 Coconuts golden batter and this is what

2:38:55 the Bananas coaching staff said they

2:38:56 wanted to start doing again. They said

2:38:58 they found so much of their success when

2:39:00 the guys were working inside against

2:39:03 batters and you see that execution from

2:39:05 Hasley pretty much perfect.

2:39:09 Two quick swings and misses on Vulcan

2:39:12 changeups from Tanner Allen.

2:39:14 Two for three tonight, two runs driven

2:39:16 in, and he just barely gets a piece of

2:39:19 that.

2:39:19 >> [laughter]

2:39:20 >> And points to Hosley saying, "I'm

2:39:21 figuring it out." Now, of course, you

2:39:23 want to continue to work inside, but

2:39:25 Hosley and Bill LeRoy have seen this

2:39:26 hole in Tanner Allen's swing trying to

2:39:29 chase these pitches outside, and Allen

2:39:31 stays with it against Danny Hosley. The

2:39:35 banana ball ricocheting off Max Young

2:39:37 Goldberg's glove, and that'll wind up a

2:39:40 single for Tanner Allen here with one

2:39:43 out in the ninth.

2:39:45 Now, TA continues his tremendous rookie

2:39:48 campaign.

2:39:50 Third knock of the night.

2:39:52 One shy of Jackie Bradley Jr. to tie him

2:39:55 for the tour lead, and Dane Toplin,

2:39:58 who also

2:40:00 has 33 hits right there tied with JBJ

2:40:03 atop the sport.

2:40:05 Looking to separate himself as that is a

2:40:07 foul home run.

2:40:12 RBI single was the difference in the

2:40:14 third inning for Toplin.

2:40:16 Outside of that, he's reached

2:40:19 or he's struck out. Check that.

2:40:22 32 hits on the year. He was looking at

2:40:24 Ben Parker's line.

2:40:25 As Toplin is down swinging on the

2:40:27 bender.

2:40:31 And Hosley, a massive second out.

2:40:33 And that's what you want to see if Danny

2:40:35 Hosley. Last weekend, he didn't strike

2:40:37 out a single party animal in Atlanta,

2:40:40 Georgia.

2:40:41 Now, he's finally back in that K column

2:40:44 as it's Ben Parker up and Jordan Brewer,

2:40:47 who was already the golden batter, he's

2:40:50 sitting on deck.

2:40:55 Parker is one for four, the RBI single

2:40:58 that won the third inning.

2:41:01 He has hit into two plays.

2:41:04 And a big chopper to Cox. Nice scoop

2:41:06 across the diamond in time.

2:41:09 Hosley strands Tanner Allen on the

2:41:11 bases.

2:41:12 And puts up a goose egg in the top of

2:41:14 the ninth.

2:41:16 Clean, efficient work from Danny Hosley.

2:41:19 A 13-pitch inning, 3 minutes and 1

2:41:22 second. And now the Bananas trying to

2:41:25 walk things off.

2:41:27 Unless we see showdown tiebreaker.

2:41:35 >> The score tied 3-3 heading in to the

2:41:38 bottom of the ninth inning.

2:41:40 Like I said before, if we are still tied

2:41:43 at the end of the night, it will force a

2:41:45 showdown tiebreaker. BUT WHY SETTLE for

2:41:49 that, ladies and gentlemen, when the

2:41:51 Savannah Bananas need to score just ONE

2:41:54 RUN TO WALK tonight's game off? So,

2:41:58 SAVANNAH, GEORGIA, LET'S ROOT ON your

2:42:02 Bananas BECAUSE IT ALL COMES DOWN TO

2:42:06 THIS.

2:42:10 >> This is what Banana Ball is all about

2:42:11 right here.

2:42:13 Fantastic back-and-forth battle.

2:42:16 Nanners jumped out to a 1-0 lead.

2:42:18 Coconuts responded winning the second

2:42:20 and third innings.

2:42:22 Bananas tied it up in the fifth.

2:42:24 Coconuts with a six-run sixth inning

2:42:27 punched right back. And then the Bananas

2:42:29 walk off the eighth inning to tie it

2:42:32 once again.

2:42:34 We have seen 25 hits.

2:42:37 The Bananas just barely able to fend off

2:42:39 the Coconuts

2:42:41 in their hopes for the equalizer point.

2:42:44 And now CJ Williams, one of the best

2:42:46 pitchers in the sport here in his rookie

2:42:49 campaign after debuting for the visitors

2:42:51 last year,

2:42:52 has been fantastic across 16 and 1/3

2:42:55 innings at 3.86 ERA.

2:42:58 Yeah, he's got a three and four record,

2:43:00 which means you've seen the Coconut's

2:43:01 playing in a lot of games that have come

2:43:03 down to the wire that have resulted in

2:43:04 Williams getting a win or a loss this

2:43:07 season. It's currently on a streak of

2:43:09 four straight games without allowing the

2:43:11 run for Loco Beach. But he pitched in

2:43:13 both games against the Bananas in San

2:43:16 Diego

2:43:17 on March 21st and 22nd. Bananas were

2:43:20 able to score against him in both of

2:43:23 those ballgames, so we're feeling a

2:43:25 little confident right now against C.J.

2:43:28 Williams.

2:43:29 >> Seven and nine in the order due to swing

2:43:32 it for the Bananas. Ryan Cox, an 0-1

2:43:34 count.

2:43:36 Fastball just misses the bottom of the

2:43:39 zone.

2:43:40 It's a low 90s heater.

2:43:42 Four-seam, two-seam, cutter, changeup,

2:43:45 slider for C.J.

2:43:50 And this one flipped out to short. Shot

2:43:52 Tonye, no funny business.

2:43:55 One down in the last of the ninth.

2:44:04 And now Ty Jackson,

2:44:06 historically one of the more clutch

2:44:08 Savannah Bananas.

2:44:09 One for two tonight with a hit by pitch.

2:44:11 He has reached twice.

2:44:15 Takes his turn representing the

2:44:16 game-winning run.

2:44:19 And that one gets AWAY FROM VINING. TY

2:44:22 JACKSON steals first base. The second

2:44:25 time he's done it this year.

2:44:29 High Banana Ball IQ. The game-winning

2:44:32 run is aboard.

2:44:39 >> Ladies and gentlemen,

2:44:41 the Savannah Bananas are invoking the

2:44:44 golden batter rule. Hitting in the place

2:44:48 of Jackson Olson is the the Bananas

2:44:51 Golden Batter. PLEASE WELCOME KJ

2:44:56 JACKSON.

2:45:02 >> One social media superstar steps in for

2:45:05 another.

2:45:06 KJ, the golden batter.

2:45:09 Three for three tonight.

2:45:12 With a ball for a sprint and a run

2:45:13 batted in.

2:45:21 And fouls that straight back.

2:45:23 KJ double

2:45:25 started the bottom of the fifth inning

2:45:27 in which the Bananas went on to win. KJ

2:45:30 single in the middle

2:45:32 of the bottom of the eighth inning, the

2:45:33 Bananas went on to win.

2:45:38 And JT Sokolov has taken over at first.

2:45:49 Fourth time the Bananas have used their

2:45:50 designated runner.

2:45:52 Here the fourth time through their

2:45:54 order.

2:46:01 Sokolov is off. Vining's throw.

2:46:04 On the money! He guns DOWN SOKOLOV IN

2:46:08 THE CLUTCH.

2:46:12 OH MAN, IT COULDN'T HAVE COME AT A

2:46:14 BETTER TIME FOR ASHBY VINING AND THE

2:46:17 LOCO BEACH NUTS. Nearly all EXPLODING IN

2:46:21 THE FAIR TERRITORY, fired up about that

2:46:25 dart to Peyton Shottoney.

2:46:28 And now it looks like

2:46:30 the Bananas will elect to use a

2:46:32 challenge just to see, and it makes a

2:46:34 lot of sense. You're in the final

2:46:36 inning, why not use it?

2:46:38 >> Well, I'll tell you what, it was a heck

2:46:39 of a swim move by Sokolov.

2:46:42 Shottoney trying to get the tag on. You

2:46:45 need to see clear evidence that Sokolov

2:46:48 got the left hand in before the tag got

2:46:51 on him from Shatanya.

2:46:54 Great angle here.

2:46:58 I mean, the question is did he get the

2:47:00 left hand when he was trying to swing it

2:47:02 on top of the glove?

2:47:06 Or more importantly, did Sokolov avoid

2:47:09 the tag with that left hand? Because the

2:47:11 left hand got in before the glove hit

2:47:12 the body.

2:47:14 And from this angle, I am not seeing

2:47:16 enough evidence to overturn the call on

2:47:17 the field.

2:47:18 >> It's so tough.

2:47:21 Especially with just the way you look at

2:47:23 every frame by frame coming. You really

2:47:25 want to see

2:47:27 that glove and how it may be applied on

2:47:30 JT Sokolov.

2:47:32 Again, if you cannot find conclusive

2:47:34 evidence,

2:47:35 >> it's not a call that you can confidently

2:47:37 overturn. This call, in my mind, cannot

2:47:39 be overturned.

2:47:41 >> You don't see the glove tag Sokolov, but

2:47:44 you see the glove kind of ricochet like

2:47:46 he did tag him. And again, if it's

2:47:49 inconclusive, you just have to defer to

2:47:51 whatever that call on the field is.

2:47:53 >> Exactly.

2:47:55 I would be shocked if this call is

2:47:57 flipped.

2:47:59 >> It's one of those where if the call was

2:48:01 safe originally, it would stay as that.

2:48:03 >> Correct. Yep.

2:48:05 >> But I'm not seeing evidence to overturn

2:48:07 it.

2:48:11 It's the umpires who make the decision,

2:48:13 Hunter Rives,

2:48:15 and the crew chief Jake Moore.

2:48:21 I mean, they're only

2:48:23 supposed to get a minute to look at

2:48:24 this. It's got to be running up against

2:48:26 it here.

2:48:27 I mean, with

2:48:28 the game on the line in the final

2:48:30 inning, I I know you do want a challenge

2:48:32 in a minute, but you just want to make

2:48:33 sure, especially in a Banana Ball

2:48:35 Championship League format, you're

2:48:37 getting the calls right.

2:48:39 >> Yep, call stands.

2:48:40 >> stands.

2:48:43 >> Boos from the crowd.

2:48:46 But I wholeheartedly agree with the

2:48:48 decision from Ives and Moore.

2:48:51 And Ashby binding,

2:48:53 I mean a perfect throw to second, a

2:48:56 bullet.

2:49:00 The game-winning run taken off the

2:49:02 bases.

2:49:03 A three-ball, one-strike count to Kyle

2:49:05 Jackson.

2:49:10 KJ now represents the game-winning run.

2:49:15 He yanks it foul. Look out, Austin

2:49:17 Drury.

2:49:19 Jumps out of the way, gets a smile from

2:49:20 KJ.

2:49:29 Payoff pitch coming.

2:49:32 FASTBALL CALLED, STRIKE THREE. CJ

2:49:36 Williams

2:49:40 sends us to showdowns.

2:49:50 Another look, beautiful two-seam

2:49:53 fastball. Gets the inside corner.

2:49:58 And CJ fired up, as he should be.

2:50:01 He faces the minimum in the bottom of

2:50:03 the ninth

2:50:04 with help from his catcher.

2:50:07 And you can see KJ there telling

2:50:09 himself, "I got to swing at it. Take

2:50:11 your hack. Take your hack. This is what

2:50:13 showdowns mean."

2:50:16 Each team

2:50:19 has to attempt to score with just one

2:50:21 hitter

2:50:22 against one pitcher and one fielder here

2:50:24 in round one. If we get to round two,

2:50:26 the fielder is removed. If we get to

2:50:28 round three, the fielder is back. The

2:50:30 bases are loaded, and every run counts

2:50:33 as a point.

2:50:34 And both the Bananas and Coconuts

2:50:36 familiar with showdowns this season. The

2:50:39 Bananas two and 0 in the regular season

2:50:42 playing in showdowns. Meanwhile, Loco

2:50:44 Beach a one and two record when in this

2:50:47 position.

2:50:49 Danny Hasley

2:50:54 Got a couple ground outs and a strike

2:50:56 out in a scoreless top of the ninth

2:50:58 inning.

2:51:02 It'll be Tanner Allen

2:51:04 to swing it here for Loco Beach.

2:51:09 Three for four tonight with two runs

2:51:12 driven in. And a slow chopper straight

2:51:15 to Alexiades.

2:51:17 He will wait for TA by second base.

2:51:21 And Danny Hasley only needs one pitch

2:51:24 for the showdown shut down

2:51:27 to open up our showdown tiebreakers.

2:51:32 And this is why the Bananas are two and

2:51:34 0 in showdowns. Hasley seven showdown

2:51:38 shut down opportunities. He has

2:51:40 converted all of them successfully.

2:51:43 And now the Bananas with a successful

2:51:46 round one will wind up four three

2:51:49 victors. But it's Williams who's got to

2:51:51 match Danny do-it-all.

2:51:56 What a massive spot

2:51:58 for the Banana Ball rookie.

2:52:03 CJ Williams six opportunities this year.

2:52:06 Two showdown shut downs, four walk-offs

2:52:09 allowed.

2:52:12 And it looks like we're going to get a

2:52:14 rematch between the 2025 visitor on the

2:52:17 mound and the 2024 visitor in Kyle

2:52:20 Jackson.

2:52:31 Well, these Bananas CocoNuts

2:52:33 have been heart-stopping action.

2:52:36 >> [music]

2:52:42 >> Williams struck out KJ to send us to

2:52:45 showdowns. That was a beautiful backdoor

2:52:47 bender. He does not get the call

2:52:49 from Hunter Iverson.

2:52:54 KJ looking for revenge.

2:52:57 Fastball bounced foul.

2:53:09 The 1-1.

2:53:11 Fastball misses. This is only KJ's

2:53:14 second showdown opportunity this year.

2:53:16 He did not earn a walk-off in his

2:53:20 previous opportunity.

2:53:28 Two balls and a strike.

2:53:32 That ball smashed foul.

2:53:36 >> Well, I'll tell you what. You saw Kyle

2:53:37 Jackson, he was frustrated not swinging

2:53:39 on the payoff pitch for C.J. Williams.

2:53:41 You are seeing him getting his swings

2:53:43 off here in round one of showdowns.

2:53:53 >> The 2-2 from Williams to Jackson.

2:53:56 Fouled away.

2:53:59 Nearly a carbon copy

2:54:01 of the front door fastball that struck

2:54:03 out KJ.

2:54:06 And boy, if this just doesn't remind you

2:54:08 a little bit of last season here in

2:54:10 Grayson Stadium. Williams facing off

2:54:13 against Kyle Jackson in a Bananas

2:54:15 visitors game. Jackson with walk-off to

2:54:17 win it for the Bananas. Can he do it yet

2:54:19 again a year later?

2:54:24 He's worked the count full.

2:54:29 What do Vining and Williams go to on the

2:54:31 payoff?

2:54:33 The strikeout in the ninth came on a

2:54:35 fastball. The payoff pitch misses. He

2:54:39 went off-speed and KJ

2:54:43 will gift the Bananas a runner on second

2:54:45 base. It'll be JT Sakolow.

2:54:47 And the Nanners choose to keep Kyle

2:54:49 Jackson at the dish.

2:54:52 Yeah, now things are even harder for CJ

2:54:55 Williams. It's almost essentially like

2:54:57 you kind of don't have a fielder behind

2:54:59 you. You really need to be gunning for a

2:55:01 strikeout against Kyle Jackson. A ball

2:55:04 put in play, and if it gets past Gideon

2:55:06 Antell, it's going to lead to a Bananas

2:55:09 win. That's how the ball force sprint

2:55:10 hurts you in showdowns.

2:55:14 Heater for strike one.

2:55:23 And that one blasted deep out to left.

2:55:27 If it falls fair, that's the game.

2:55:30 Savannah Bananas win it on a Kyle

2:55:32 Jackson walk-off winner in round ONE OF

2:55:35 SHOWDOWNS.

2:55:38 KYLE JACKSON, can you believe it?

2:55:42 A second straight season where he IS THE

2:55:44 HERO IN SHOWDOWNS AGAINST CJ Williams in

2:55:48 Grayson Stadium. And the Bananas,

2:55:51 despite going down early in trick plays

2:55:54 and in points, are able to come all the

2:55:57 way back and emerge victorious. 4-3

2:56:02 victors against THE COCONUTS ON NIGHT

2:56:05 ONE IN SAVANNAH.

2:56:08 AND IF WE GET TWO MORE BALL GAMES like

2:56:10 this, sign me up.

2:56:14 What a barn burner. A roller coaster

2:56:16 ride from start to finish.

2:56:21 And the Nanners emerge 4-3 winners.

2:56:26 They improve to a perfect 3-0 on the

2:56:28 year against the Coconuts.

2:56:30 13 and 6 overall.

2:56:34 And they now have a three-game lead

2:56:37 on the Tailgaters and Firefighters

2:56:40 for first place in the Banana Ball

2:56:41 Championship League.

2:57:06 It's a no-brainer

2:57:07 for Showman of the Game.

2:57:11 KJ trick played defensively.

2:57:13 Three knocks and the game-winner in

2:57:15 Showdowns.

2:57:22 >> [music]

2:57:48 [music]

2:57:56 [music]

2:58:12 >> The Low Country Beach Coconuts have won

2:58:13 three straight series.

2:58:15 But they're going to have to make back

2:58:17 to back wins here in Savannah to make it

2:58:19 four series victories in a row. While

2:58:22 the Bananas haven't had a series win

2:58:24 since April 11th and 12th in Chapel Hill

2:58:27 against the Tailgaters.

2:58:30 >> Again, we talked about at the top of the

2:58:32 show, the Bananas only one loss playing

2:58:35 as the home team during the regular

2:58:37 season. This is what they know. This is

2:58:39 what they have been doing over the past

2:58:41 couple of world tours. And once again,

2:58:44 the Bananas find themselves being able

2:58:47 to pull off that victory dance and come

2:58:50 away with another clutch victory at the

2:58:53 very end of these Banana Ball games.

2:58:56 >> Yeah, I'll tell you what. That was by

2:58:57 the skin of their teeth.

2:58:59 They fend off the equalizer the

2:59:01 equalizer point by just one trick play

2:59:04 and they tie the game in the bottom of

2:59:06 the eighth inning.

2:59:09 There was multiple avenues for victory

2:59:12 for the Coconuts

2:59:14 who will hunt that elusive first win

2:59:16 against the Bananas tomorrow night. Same

2:59:18 place, same time.

2:59:20 7:00 p.m. Eastern.

2:59:22 As Bill LeRoy

2:59:24 is talking to the folks here in

2:59:26 Savannah.

2:59:31 And Sam Bateman is going to talk with

2:59:34 Kyle Jackson.

2:59:35 >> Guys, what a pleasure it is to catch up

2:59:36 with my old friend from Ohio, Kyle KJ

2:59:39 Jackson. KJ,

2:59:40 you never left, man.

2:59:41 >> I'm back.

2:59:42 >> Three big hits, the walk-off winner.

2:59:45 Everybody's doing this across the chest

2:59:47 all day. There's some fire in this

2:59:49 Bananas lineup.

2:59:50 >> There is some fire. We keep saying play

2:59:51 for the name on the front, not the back.

2:59:53 And there's a lot of guys here who have

2:59:54 a lot of amazing talents and gifts, but

2:59:56 we are a one collective unit. We love to

2:59:58 win together, we love to compete

2:59:59 together. And when it was my turn in the

3:00:00 showdown, I knew I was going to get it

3:00:01 done for these guys cuz they got my back

3:00:03 and I got theirs.

3:00:03 >> Hey KJ, talk about it. You said you're

3:00:05 back. Two weeks ago, you get golden

3:00:07 batted for. Tonight, you're the golden

3:00:08 batter. Tonight, you're who they go to

3:00:10 for so showdown. What's this say about

3:00:11 that team that says, "KJ,

3:00:13 he never left."

3:00:14 >> Hey, sometimes you're the hammer,

3:00:15 sometimes you're the nail. Um I had a a

3:00:17 stretch of games where I wasn't

3:00:18 performing my best and these guys

3:00:19 stepped up every single time. And

3:00:21 there's going to be times where I'm not

3:00:22 playing my best, they will do the job.

3:00:23 And times when they're not doing their

3:00:24 best, then I'll do the job. And that's

3:00:26 what best teams do, that's what great

3:00:27 friends do, that's what the best of the

3:00:29 best teammates do. And I think we got a

3:00:30 great squad here and these guys are

3:00:31 amazing.

3:00:33 >> KJ, I think you're pretty amazing. Final

3:00:34 question, final question. Backstage,

3:00:35 10-year-old Brody, he wants to know,

3:00:38 this is maybe tough one, who what's your

3:00:39 favorite MLB team? Do you Do you watch

3:00:41 MLB?

3:00:42 >> I don't even watch baseball.

3:00:44 Um

3:00:45 but my parents, they used to love the

3:00:47 Cleveland Indians, or the Guardians now.

3:00:49 And I guess I'll roll with the tribe cuz

3:00:51 that's That's my only reason. I I don't

3:00:52 watch sports, bro. I'm not going to lie.

3:00:54 >> He doesn't watch them, he just plays

3:00:56 them. Kyle KJ Jackson, he's just here to

3:00:58 play, man. He's just here to play.

3:01:01 >> That's

3:01:02 Thank you, SB.

3:01:04 >> Listen to this guy talk.

3:01:04 >> Always fun to hear the insight from Kyle

3:01:06 Jackson. What stands out there,

3:01:08 sometimes you're the hammer, sometimes

3:01:10 you're the nail.

3:01:11 It certainly goes for life and

3:01:13 especially in sports and in Banana Ball,

3:01:17 which can be such a topsy-turvy game and

3:01:20 feel like you're down and out, being

3:01:22 outplayed for the first eight innings.

3:01:24 Every run scored counts

3:01:26 for a point in the ninth. This time, the

3:01:28 Nanners do it with a rally in the eighth

3:01:31 and Kyle Jackson coming up clutch in

3:01:34 showdowns.

3:01:35 As you get a look at the numbers behind

3:01:38 this 4-3 victory for the Nanners. KJ

3:01:40 three for four, that trick play at

3:01:42 third, couple singles, a double, a run

3:01:45 driven in on the sprint, and the game

3:01:47 winner in showdowns.

3:01:48 >> Look, the Nanners have a couple

3:01:50 superstars on this team. Kyle Jackson is

3:01:52 certainly one of them. And for them to

3:01:54 be able to continue to be the top team

3:01:56 in the Banana Ball Championship League,

3:01:58 it's going to be from big performances

3:02:00 from Kyle Jackson. And this is already

3:02:03 the fifth time The fifth time that he

3:02:05 has been named the Showman of the game

3:02:07 this season. He is the outright leader

3:02:10 in 2026.

3:02:12 An unbelievable night tonight for Kyle

3:02:14 Jackson and this Bananas team on route

3:02:17 to their 4-3 win.

3:02:19 >> Welcome back inside with the statistical

3:02:21 savant of Banana Ball, Mr. Josh

3:02:23 Tolewski. I am Biko Skala and for the

3:02:25 math at home for everybody, that's five

3:02:28 showman of the game performances for

3:02:29 Kyle Jackson in 13 wins for the Bananas

3:02:32 this year. He has been a huge part of

3:02:35 their success and as we've also talked

3:02:37 about, they are now 8 and 1 as the home

3:02:40 team. Of course, this is their home

3:02:42 series. So, two more opportunities as

3:02:44 the home squad against the Coconuts.

3:02:46 Tomorrow night, it'll be right back here

3:02:48 on the Bananas YouTube channel as well

3:02:50 as truTV and that's not the only Banana

3:02:53 Ball game on the docket. Not just one,

3:02:55 not just two, but

3:02:56 >> three Banana Ball games.

3:02:58 >> Exactly, Josh. Coconuts and Nanners, as

3:03:00 I said, right here on YouTube as well as

3:03:02 truTV truTV. Party Animals and Clowns on

3:03:06 the Indianapolis Clowns YouTube channel.

3:03:09 First ever Clowns Headliner series. That

3:03:12 is appointment television right there.

3:03:14 And then the Firefighters and Tailgaters

3:03:15 on the Tailgaters YouTube channel. The

3:03:18 first ever Banana Ball game from El

3:03:20 Paso, Texas. That'll kick off at 9:00

3:03:23 p.m. Eastern. It's going to be a heck of

3:03:25 an evening of Banana Ball.

3:03:26 >> Yeah, it's going to be incredibly

3:03:28 exciting much like we saw from this game

3:03:30 tonight. Again, the Bananas with some

3:03:32 really clutch offense and trick plays at
