Firefighters @ Texas Tailgaters
Firefighters vs Texas Tailgaters in Corpus Christi, TX at Whataburger Field (Game 3)
📝 Full transcript (4102 segments)
0:44 just hit a home run in front of 60,000
0:46 people. How do you feel?
0:48 >> Well, Brett, it's plain and simple. I'm
0:50 the best there ever is. I mean, I wake
0:52 up in the morning and I It's excellent.
0:55 I'm I'm a big carrot. American winning
0:58 machine if you ain't first or last.
1:04 >> Bro, we went to Frisco and the Texas
1:07 tailgator finally unveiled their
1:10 official mascot. The cowboy wearing big
1:13 old green alligator himself who's going
1:16 to steal every piece of meat that you
1:19 have at your tailgate. Grub the gator.
1:22 And that weekend in Frisco was special
1:25 because then we played the Loco Beach
1:27 Coconuts and our captain does this
1:29 Fiverr. Jordan Hussein, the Texas kid, a
1:33 diving grab as the tailgator would be
1:35 tied up all at two apiece. And Fiverr
1:38 out there making web gyms just as he
1:40 does so very, very, very often for the
1:43 boys in blue and orange. And then golden
1:45 batter, Eric Osberg.
1:48 Magic can't happen twice, but Jordan
1:50 Hussein can. And then after the
1:53 defensive prowess, trailing by one point
1:56 going to the bottom of the ninth. Who do
1:57 the tailgator call on?
2:00 >> Big on big.
2:03 >> Kmart out to left field. Ta going back
2:08 at the fence. It's gone. It's gone. It's
2:12 gone. Kyle Martin's first home run in
2:14 the sport ties us up at three apiece.
2:18 crowds would you rather be
2:28 and how Taco
2:31 the first earn run CJ Williams has ever
2:34 conceded.
2:36 This is banana ball. The moment never
2:41 too big in the ninth, but what about in
2:43 showdowns? CJ Williams, Nick Lopez.
2:46 Bottom of round number one. How would it
2:49 end?
2:52 Lopei over the head of Gideon Antel.
2:55 It's going to roll for a while. Gideon's
2:57 got good wheels. Get on your horse, Liy.
3:00 Get on your horse. Antel finally gets to
3:03 it. Ly's on third and 80. Great arm.
3:06 Sells over the head. Tailgators win.
3:09 Tailgators win. Tailgator win. Nick
3:12 Lopez walks it off. Four and a three.
3:15 And we are so back in the Lone Star
3:17 State.
3:20 >> After going four and four over their
3:22 final eight games heading into the
3:24 Banana Ball Open, something caught fire
3:27 within the Texas Tailgator and
3:29 specifically their 33-year-old superstar
3:32 Kyle Martin in game one against the
3:34 >> quarter here for the Texas Tailgator.
3:36 And Kmart sends what? Deep center field.
3:40 Kmart with another long ball. Welcome to
3:43 the action here in the Banana Ball Open.
3:46 >> First of two home runs for Kmart in the
3:48 open. And then Sunshine provided us the
3:51 play of the year.
3:52 >> Mason Maxwell hard hit Sunny times out.
3:55 Trick play. Oh, it's a double trick
3:58 play. Is that the play of the year?
4:01 Jonathan Sunshine Loers lays out between
4:04 the legs bucket. Throws it to first.
4:06 Taylor Justice between the legs bucket.
4:10 That was psychotic.
4:12 is banana ball.
4:15 >> And from arguably the play of the year
4:17 to the play that helped win the
4:19 tailgator the equalizer point and win
4:22 the ball game on Friday night.
4:23 >> Kicked out over to J5 between the legs
4:26 and that's the equalizer point for the
4:29 tailgator. Double trick play.
4:31 >> Bucket bucket. And just like that, the
4:34 Texas Tailgator off the backs of the
4:37 Texas kid and Taylor Justice win the
4:40 equalizer point. is vitally important.
4:44 >> With a win on Friday night against the
4:45 firefighters, the Tailgator faced off in
4:47 game one of the Banana Ball Open
4:49 Championship against those Savannah
4:50 Bananas. And how about a start to it
4:53 from Jordan Hussein. A little booket
4:56 there on a 6463
4:58 double play. You've never seen anything
5:00 like that in your entire life. And then
5:02 we hadn't seen this yet this year
5:04 either. Jordan Bart hits his first home
5:07 run in his banana ball career in route
5:09 to putting the tailgator up two points
5:12 to none there in the third inning.
5:14 Feeling really good about those boys
5:16 from my hometown Corpus Christie.
5:21 >> Let's go.
5:27 >> Blue and orange, red and black, even a
5:30 little yellow. This weekend, the city of
5:33 Corpus Christi has been painted by the
5:36 sport of banana ball. Game three here in
5:38 the sparkling city by the sea is a big
5:40 one as the Texas Tailgator are looking
5:43 to earn their first ever threeame series
5:46 sweep and the firefighters are trying to
5:48 end their fiveame losing streak.
5:50 Jonathan Hughes will be the first arm,
5:52 the man, the grill for the boys in blue
5:54 and orange as the fireballer Jared
5:56 Donaldson will try to cool down the
5:59 Gator Bats. Come on in and stay a while.
6:04 He's Zach Stton. I'm Brett Loftess and
6:07 this is Bananal on the Texas Tailgator
6:10 YouTube channel and Valley Sports. Zack,
6:12 last night, another heartbreaker for the
6:15 firefighters, but another game they were
6:17 clearly one of the very best teams in
6:18 this sport. They just ran into the
6:20 juggernaut that has and continues to be
6:22 the Texas Tailgator.
6:23 >> There are not many words you can use to
6:24 describe the two games that have been
6:26 played here so far in Corpus Christie,
6:27 but the few you can. Instant classic,
6:30 unbelievable, and exactly what you come
6:33 to expect from Banana Ball. Great trip
6:35 plays, timely offense, even better
6:37 pitching, and mustsea moments. And
6:39 that's exactly what you get from the
6:41 tailgator and the firefighters tonight.
6:43 It's a massive one for the boys in the
6:45 black and neon. A huge one for the blue
6:48 and orange. They win tonight. They have
6:49 the most wins in banana ball,
6:51 potentially more than the Savannah
6:53 bananas.
6:53 >> Tied with those bananas right now. All
6:55 at 15. and these firefighters, these
6:57 tailgators, the middle children of our
6:59 sport. But there's one connection, one
7:01 connection that holds them very, very
7:03 true to each other. A man who was on
7:05 both of the first year teams, the
7:07 inaugural teams if you will. His name is
7:09 Zach Watson. He shares a very special
7:11 connection still with the firefighters.
7:13 Michael Schwarz caught up earlier with
7:14 him today.
7:21 >> Val Perez, head coach of the
7:23 firefighters. Zach Watson, left field
7:26 for your Texas tailgator. Now, we know
7:28 that this is Val's hometown Corpus
7:30 Christie. Her family and so many more
7:32 friends were here, including your
7:34 daughters. Your youngest daughter, Emma,
7:36 though, wore your jersey for the first
7:39 game. The second game last night, wore
7:42 this guy's jersey and sat in the
7:44 tailgator dugout. Why? First of all,
7:48 that guy bought her that jersey. Let me
7:50 just point that out as a gift. so kind.
7:52 Him and his wife Jess so kind. Um, no,
7:55 but Emma's loved Zach from year one. Um,
7:57 when we started off, Zach was a
7:59 firefighter. And, um, they really bonded
8:01 over our first MLB game at in DC. And
8:05 ever since then, she was a huge Watson
8:07 fan. So, um, you know, he's he's all
8:09 right of a guy, I guess, so I can't be
8:10 too mad about it. But when he went over
8:11 to the Texas Tailgator, um, her
8:14 allegiance to him did not waver. So, she
8:16 she continues to cheer for him and and
8:18 in cheering for him, she spent more time
8:20 around the rest of the tailgator. So,
8:22 you know, this organization is filled
8:23 with great people. So, I I can't be too
8:25 mad about it.
8:25 >> Can't be too mad because she is still so
8:27 super proud of her mom. She went to camp
8:30 and was helping her mom even coach. When
8:32 we got here in Corpus Christi, I asked
8:35 Emma, "Who's your favorite player in all
8:37 banana ball?" Zach Watson. What's with
8:39 this bond?
8:40 >> Um, I'm not sure. Like she said, uh,
8:42 when we walked out in the Washington
8:44 National Park, she kind of just became
8:48 my best friend. So, like every time she
8:49 sees me, she has a big smile on her face
8:51 and she's awesome. I even told Val and
8:53 me and my wife would we would adopt her.
8:56 >> Well, I don't know. I mean, we're still
8:59 good. She's she's not in trouble for
9:00 wearing his jersey or there's nothing
9:02 bad like that.
9:03 >> I mean, maybe like a joint custody
9:04 thing. We can work out something. You
9:06 know, we could figure that out. But no,
9:08 uh she's she's great. She's been having
9:10 so much fun. Um especially with whenever
9:13 she shows up in the Tailgator jersey, my
9:15 guys are just letting her have it just
9:17 left and right. So, she's learning a
9:19 little thick skin along the way, but
9:20 it's all in in good fun.
9:22 >> She wears her mom's jersey partly to get
9:25 more Christmas presents.
9:26 >> Sure.
9:27 >> Sure. But also Wally's jersey. That's
9:29 loyal, but that just shows the family
9:31 that Banana Ball is. Val, I just have to
9:33 say it's been a great time being with
9:34 you here in Corpus Christi and seeing
9:36 the the joy that your family and friends
9:38 have been having, partly because of what
9:40 Wad's doing for her younger daughter.
9:43 We'll send it back to you guys.
9:47 Both of those amazing humans were
9:50 involved in last night's game here in
9:52 Corpus Christi, Texas. Started off in
9:54 the first and second innings with a lot
9:56 of trick plays. There's your watty wo
9:58 from the man you just heard from,
10:00 Armando Betta after he was the
10:02 designated fielder on Thursday night.
10:04 Came in with a big RBI single in the top
10:06 of the second. Taylor Justice hit an
10:08 animal that is yet to land. If I had to
10:10 give a guesstimation, over 450 ft out of
10:14 Waterburgger Field last night. Zack,
10:17 despite the home run, firefighters still
10:19 struck first one to nothing and then
10:20 this happened.
10:21 >> This is the greatest play in Banana Ball
10:23 history. My biased aside, that was
10:26 incredible. Logan Lacy risked his life
10:29 for an out and made one of the coolest
10:32 moments ever, but the Tailgator got a
10:34 point off of it. Firefighters continuing
10:36 to try to do battle in the trick play
10:38 column until a ball for Sprint walked
10:40 in. The second point for the Texas
10:41 Tailgator of the night. M Danford able
10:44 to draw a ball for a sprint in the
10:46 seventh. Makes it three to one. Darren
10:48 McDow, big man, is a premier right
10:51 fielder. Showed it off yet again. Joe
10:53 Spiron. What say you, Peanut? He says a
10:55 lot. Home run number two on the year for
10:58 >> Peanut Power.
10:59 >> Well, I was going to say young nut, but
11:01 that works.
11:03 >> That works on the left side. Kyle Martin
11:06 uses the golden batter in the home half
11:07 of the eighth. It'll be the first of two
11:09 abs he would have in the bottom of the
11:11 eighth inning. What would he do here?
11:13 The auction with a base hit right over
11:15 the noggin of Tyler Hughes. That would
11:17 be Jordan Hussein would be running. He
11:19 would come home to score and then so
11:21 would Nick Lopez on the RBI single.
11:23 Reese Miller, do we have a double play
11:25 to end it? At least that right there as
11:27 he throws it into center field. Three to
11:29 two. Dalton Cornet, one of the clutchest
11:31 players our sport has ever seen. First
11:33 pitch he sees in his golden batter.
11:35 Taylor Justice steps on first, throw to
11:37 second. a 3-6 double play to conclude
11:40 the tailgator 15th win of the year.
11:43 Their fifth over the firefighters and
11:45 their seventh straight here in the Lone
11:48 Star State. But as we said at the top of
11:49 the show, Zach, it was an incredible
11:51 ball game where the firefighters really
11:53 just got beat. They were by far one of
11:56 the best versions of themselves we've
11:58 seen here in 2026.
11:59 >> Dalton Cornette hits that to almost any
12:01 other first baseman other than Taylor
12:03 Justice. That ball's probably getting
12:04 through because it was hit so hard. But
12:07 these Texas tailgators, they are the
12:09 most complete team in this sport.
12:11 Pitching wise and certainly fielding
12:13 wise, they are a cut above the rest of
12:15 the league. Nine hits, they just come up
12:17 so timely and in clutch situations where
12:19 it matters the most. The Texas Tailgator
12:21 are a juggernaut of this sport. And the
12:23 firefighters showed a lot of moxy last
12:25 night and a particular special city.
12:27 They showed it last night.
12:29 >> Yeah, the tailgator the best team in the
12:31 sport on the other side in the other
12:34 dugout I should say. one of the most
12:36 special people in this sport. We just
12:38 heard from her with Zack Watson. But
12:41 here, our very own Zach Stton got to
12:44 catch up with the skipper of the
12:46 firefighters earlier this afternoon, Val
12:48 Perez.
12:51 Brett, thank you very much. Val, last
12:52 year at the City Selection Show, I asked
12:54 you about one road series for the
12:56 firefighters, and that was here in your
12:57 hometown of Corpus Christi. Now getting
12:59 a chance to experience this week, what
13:01 has it meant to you? Uh, it's been
13:04 obviously incredibly special. Um, from
13:06 being born and raised here, I played
13:08 college ball here. I've been coming to
13:10 Hooks games at this stadium forever. Um,
13:12 and then of course I served in the fire
13:13 department here. And so every single
13:14 night there's been numerous firefighters
13:17 throughout the stands, people I went to
13:18 high school with, people I went to
13:19 college with, um, and people I worked
13:21 with. Um, and so, you know, just seeing
13:23 everybody at literally everywhere I'm
13:25 turning was is always incredible. So,
13:27 it's a huge homecoming. Um, but a big
13:29 big moment for me is this is Banana Ball
13:32 is the reason why I retired and the
13:34 reason why my my family and I moved. And
13:35 so bringing back to Corpus Christie, the
13:38 reason of why I left and showing them
13:40 how incredible it is and what Banana
13:42 Ball is and what it means um is
13:43 something that's really incredible
13:45 >> last night to get to go up into the
13:46 batters box, get an ovation, and take a
13:48 couple of swings at a field that you
13:50 worked at in multiple different jobs.
13:52 How special was that moment? Yeah, you
13:54 know this Chelsea and I were talking
13:56 last night about it and she was like,
13:57 "My favorite thing was watching your
13:59 guys watching them hyped up." Um, of
14:02 course the rest of the stadium was was
14:03 incredible and I was really special
14:05 moment and it got pretty loud here for a
14:07 little bit, but um, yeah, just looking
14:08 over our dugout and seeing my guys hyped
14:10 up and amped for me to to get that
14:11 moment was special.
14:13 >> You were also hyped up for one of your
14:14 guys, Logan Lacy might have had the play
14:16 of all time in Banana Ball last night,
14:18 flipping over the dugout. What were your
14:22 reactions to seeing him do that? And
14:24 then what were you told about why the
14:25 tailgator were allowed to score off of
14:27 that by the umpires?
14:28 >> Yeah, Logan Lacy's unreal. I don't know
14:29 if anybody hasn't figured that out yet,
14:31 but he he does things so nonchalant that
14:34 just wows everybody. So, you know, I'm
14:36 I'm never surprised anymore on the his
14:38 capabilities, but it's always amazing to
14:40 see it firsthand. So, I'm very lucky to
14:42 have him on my team. But, um, watching
14:44 that live was incredible. Some of my
14:45 friends were in the dugout watching too
14:46 as well. They were just like and Chelsea
14:48 was clipped on the broadcast with a
14:50 stunned face like it was all it was
14:52 incredible. Um but obviously um the run
14:55 ended up scoring and so I was talking to
14:58 the ump um after to try and figure out
15:00 what was going on and it it's a baseball
15:02 rule. It's you know he entered a dead
15:04 zone and when a player makes a play that
15:06 enters a dead zone the the base runners
15:08 are awarded one base. Unfortunately we
15:10 had a runner on third and that's
15:12 actually how we lost that inning. So
15:13 unfortunate uh outcome, but you know,
15:16 like I said last night, I'm never going
15:17 to pull Logan back on that. How do you
15:20 how do you take that away from a guy? I
15:21 want him to be that aggressive. I want
15:22 him to be that hungry. And so I I'm just
15:25 amazed with with his capabilities.
15:27 >> Real quickly here, Jared Donaldson in
15:28 the ninth inning last night, gathered
15:30 guys around, gave an impassion speech.
15:32 He's the starter tonight. How much is
15:34 his energy been a part of what this team
15:36 has been able to accomplish this year?
15:38 >> Yeah, it's a testament to his
15:39 leadership. That's one of the very
15:40 reasons why we drafted him. Um he's not
15:41 new here. Um, and he's cool, calm, and
15:44 collected. Um, he's always been a guy
15:46 who who's keeping us up in the stand on
15:48 the sidelines and keeping everybody in
15:49 it. Um, he saw a need to bring everybody
15:52 up. He did that. He talked to him, fired
15:54 him up. Obviously, things didn't turn
15:55 out the way we wanted last night, but at
15:57 the same time, that leadership and in
15:59 his fire to come out and and take a win
16:01 for us today, I'm I'm excited to see
16:02 what he's going to do on the mound.
16:04 >> Last thing from me, take away the
16:05 results of these last two nights. I know
16:06 they've been heartbreakers this weekend.
16:08 The emotion of it, the experience of
16:10 everything, getting to go back to your
16:11 old fire station, coming back here to
16:13 Waterburger Field. Has this been
16:15 everything you could have hoped it would
16:16 have been?
16:17 >> And more I mean, it's it more things are
16:20 happening and the story that's written
16:21 that I wasn't even a part of every
16:23 aspect of it. It's just kind of
16:24 unfolding in the way that it's meant to
16:26 be. Um, has been incredible. And I was
16:28 actually talking to to Dear earlier
16:30 today and I was like, you know, it's
16:32 it's crazy how this stuff these things
16:34 that we get to experience are happening.
16:35 I'm so grateful for people like you in
16:37 our social media team and our
16:38 photographers and everybody who's around
16:40 to capture it all and and so eloquently
16:42 put it into a beautiful story to where
16:45 when I take a break after, you know, in
16:47 a couple days, get back home and take a
16:49 little breather, um it gets to set in.
16:51 And so it's I'm trying to take advantage
16:53 and be where my feet are and absorb
16:55 every moment. Um but as we know,
16:58 everything moves like that, right? And
16:59 so, um, I'm excited to be able to review
17:02 this whole weekend, but it's definitely
17:03 going to be one of the most weekends of
17:05 best weekends of my life for sure.
17:06 >> Enjoy one more in the game here tonight,
17:07 coach.
17:08 >> Absolutely. Let's get the win.
17:09 >> Let's get one more win. Let's get one
17:10 win here tonight in Corpus Christie for
17:12 Val Perez.
17:15 >> What a burger field. And what an
17:17 interview from Zach State. And he's to
17:19 my right. I'm Brett Loftess. You see all
17:21 the good stats here about this
17:23 beautiful, beautiful ballpark in the
17:25 sparkling city by the sea. I I want to
17:27 revisit though what Val just said about
17:30 she never wants to rain her guys back.
17:31 Yeah, they've lost standing there, Zach,
17:32 because of that play and she eloquently
17:34 explained it. Ball going out of play
17:37 with the player, it's dead. So, a base
17:40 runner able to advance up. Never wants
17:41 to reign a player back. In essence,
17:43 that's banana ball.
17:44 >> That's that's what it means to be a
17:45 firefighter. You have to run into the
17:47 adversity and the danger, risk a lot of
17:49 things, including your life to save
17:51 somebody. obviously on a much smaller
17:54 scale of importance, but what Logan Lacy
17:57 did last night is trying to salvage a
17:59 point for his team. Obviously, it's not
18:00 what happened, but Val Perez, it's one
18:02 thing that I'm I'm so impressed with her
18:04 as our coach, never makes an excuse last
18:07 night. You even heard it after her AB
18:08 with Michael Schwarz talk about it. She
18:10 said it then, it was the right call. And
18:12 that was during the heat of the battle,
18:13 the heat of the emotion of everything,
18:15 she was even able to admit it. So, you
18:17 know, her being able to come back home,
18:18 getting a chance to visit her old
18:20 station with her yesterday, station 7
18:22 here of the Corpus Christie Fire
18:23 Department was so emotional, Brett, it
18:25 was this has been such a dream weekend
18:28 for her. I'm glad we all get to be a
18:29 part of it.
18:30 >> It's been a really big weekend in other
18:33 aspects of Banana Ball as well as some
18:34 tailgators and firefighters were able to
18:37 have a popup Banana Ball youth camp on
18:39 Wednesday afternoon. Michael Schwarz has
18:42 more on that from earlier today.
18:46 Yeah, here with Tailgator catcher Taj
18:48 Porter. You look, when we first got to
18:50 Corpus Christi, something really cool.
18:52 We went right to the fields to have a
18:54 youth camp, 100 kids. We're doing 12 of
18:57 these throughout the season. They're all
18:58 sold out right now, but how cool was
19:00 that to interact with the kids?
19:01 >> Yeah, it was dope. Uh we had a lot of
19:03 kids come out from Corpus. It was a
19:05 great showing. It was fun. We got a lot
19:07 of good talent out there. A lot of good
19:09 laughs. Kids were dancing. Taj was
19:11 teaching them the dances along with
19:12 Christian Dearman. Coaches from both
19:14 sides were there. We had Javon Ray
19:16 there. We had Indiana Stanley. They were
19:19 going through different stations of
19:20 trick plays, dances, and then it was the
19:22 game. Don't you wish that we had that of
19:24 banana ball when we were growing up?
19:26 >> Absolutely. I would have loved to have
19:28 banana ball growing up. And it's funny,
19:29 I was, you know, we were just doing BBB
19:31 and I got kids coming up to me asking
19:33 about like my route to banana ball and
19:35 told them I was like, "Biggest thing,
19:36 just have fun with what you do." These
19:38 kids are so fortunate to have banana
19:40 ball grow up with it. One of those kids
19:42 who got really successful. Bam. And he
19:46 hit one inside the park home run. I
19:48 said, "If you get another inside the
19:50 park home run, I'll give you a game
19:52 ball." So, I owe it to you. Here's your
19:54 game ball. You're coming to the game
19:56 today. Here it is. I lost the bet.
19:58 >> Thank you very much. But I thought part
20:00 of the bet was that I got to push you
20:02 into the pool.
20:02 >> No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, that's
20:05 that's definitely that's definitely not.
20:14 >> Yeah, we got him.
20:19 >> Wow,
20:20 >> Michael Schwarz. Hopefully he dried.
20:25 >> Oh, he tossed the microphone out, by the
20:27 way. So, protecting the technology, too.
20:29 But
20:29 >> you know what happens in banana ball? If
20:31 you bot, you get tossed out of the game.
20:34 And for more of those 11 glorious rules
20:36 of our sport, let's toss it to the owner
20:40 and creator of our sport, Jesse Cole.
20:45 >> Banana Ball is the fastest and most
20:47 entertaining show in sports, and the 11
20:49 rules guarantee the most fans first
20:51 experience every second.
20:53 >> Unbelievable.
20:55 >> Welcome to the Banana Bowl Championship
20:57 League.
20:57 >> Rule number one, win the inning, win the
21:00 point. The team that scores the most
21:02 runs in an inning wins the point.
21:04 >> It's a walk-off winner to the def.
21:08 Oh my goodness.
21:09 >> With the equalizer point, trick plays
21:11 provide the away team an opportunity to
21:13 earn a point going into the final
21:15 inning. And in the final inning, every
21:17 run counts as a point. Rule number two,
21:20 Banana Ball has a 2hour time limit,
21:23 guaranteeing that every game is
21:25 fast-paced and action-packed. Rule
21:28 number three, no stepping out of the
21:30 batter's box. If you do, it will result
21:32 in a strike.
21:33 >> Max stepped out of the box and because
21:35 he stepped out of the box, that's it.
21:37 >> Rule number four, no bunting, cuz
21:39 bunting sucks. If you bunt, you'll be
21:42 thrown out of the game. Rule number
21:44 five, batters can steal first base.
21:46 >> Ball three, get it taken off for first
21:48 throw from Leroy in time.
21:50 >> Rule number six, there's no walks. Walks
21:54 are ball force sprints. The batter can
21:56 advance as far as they want until every
21:59 position player touches the ball.
22:01 >> No defenders have touched the banana
22:03 ball. It is a four base spread to open
22:06 up the ball game.
22:07 >> Rule number seven, no mound visits.
22:10 >> Nope. Rule number eight, foul balls
22:13 caught by a fan count as an out.
22:16 >> Oh my goodness, they did. They can't
22:18 guard it on the clock. We're going to
22:21 show
22:22 >> rule number nine, the showdowns. In
22:25 showdowns, the best of the best face off
22:27 in the biggest moment. One hitter verse
22:29 one pitcher with one fielder behind him.
22:32 And the hitter has to score deep to
22:34 right center. CU
22:37 Raider.
22:38 >> Rule number 10, the banana ball
22:40 challenge role gives the coaches and
22:42 you, the fans, a chance to impact a call
22:45 on the field. Rule number 11, the golden
22:48 batter. Once a game, each team can give
22:51 any player in a bat, regardless of the
22:53 lineup. This offers the biggest matchups
22:55 on the biggest stage.
22:57 >> Big on big.
23:00 Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Get out of
23:03 here. Ball. That thing had a family.
23:08 >> And those are the rules of banana ball.
23:14 >> Gosh, I love banana ball.
23:16 And gosh, I love you, Zach Stton. Your
23:19 two keys to success tonight for the
23:21 firefighters are stick to the protocol.
23:23 Look, you've had a chance to win in all
23:25 three of the last three games, entering
23:27 the ninth inning, either with a lead or
23:29 a two-point deficit. You've got shots to
23:32 win. Just stick to what you do well and
23:35 power through. Hey, firefighters have
23:37 hit with some bombs this weekend. Three
23:39 bombs this weekend to be exact. That is
23:41 the most tied for the most they've had
23:43 in a series this year. Keep finding ways
23:45 for the power ball to go your way. Brett
23:47 Loftess, I love you too, Pooky Bear.
23:50 >> What you know about 2026? Taylor
23:54 Justice.
23:55 Since the banana ball open, Mr. TJ is
23:58 hitting 333 with a couple of pumps,
24:00 including one last night. And he also is
24:03 fifth in that time frame with 34 31,
24:06 excuse me, trick plays. He's a first
24:08 baseman with 31 trick plays since the
24:12 Banana Ball open. That is a 14 game span
24:16 since the open. Absolutely incredible.
24:18 And also, the tailgator
24:21 Texas. The boys in blue and orange have
24:23 won their last seven games they've
24:25 played here in the Lonear State. That's
24:28 dating back to Emarillo in that game
24:30 three victory over the Coconuts. They
24:33 then won both games in El Paso against
24:37 the Firefighters. They also won both
24:38 games in College Station against the
24:40 Bananas and then won the first two games
24:42 of this weekend as well. The
24:43 Firefighters playing the fifth game in
24:45 their young history in Texas and 0 and4
24:48 to this point in the Lone Star State.
24:52 If there was ever one to win in the
24:54 state of Texas, it would be tonight for
24:57 the firefighters and for Val Perez in
24:59 her hometown, Zack of Corpus Christie,
25:01 Texas. The guys are fired up for her
25:03 tonight. You saw, we talked about it
25:05 earlier, Jared Donaldson gathering the
25:07 guys around in the ninth inning. They're
25:08 impassioned, not just because of the
25:11 moments, but because of the person they
25:13 are playing for tonight in Val Perez.
25:16 This is someone who loves this city, and
25:18 her team loves it just as much as her.
25:20 Anna Douglas, the leader of the Texas
25:23 TwoStepers, has a microphone and wants
25:26 to get you all at home and the 7,000
25:28 folks here in Corpus Christi warmed up.
25:40 >> Whatever you do, all 8,000 fans are
25:44 going to do. Are you ready?
25:47 >> You heard her. Let's go.
25:51 Clap those hand on.
25:54 A little practice for Hey, baby.
25:57 >> She brought her lasso.
26:01 Oh, we got a disco queen tonight.
26:06 >> Time to boogie
26:10 >> and clap those hands.
26:14 All right, Corpus Christie. Nice and
26:16 loud for me. Let's hear it again for
26:19 six-year-old Laya.
26:41 Ladies,
26:43 gentlemen, boys and girls, and parking
26:47 lot party people from around
26:51 the world.
26:53 Tonight, you and thousands of your
26:56 friends here live. Millions more
26:58 watching at home have gathered to
27:00 witness something that frat boys across
27:03 the country could only ever dream of.
27:06 From parking lots to 80 foot yachts,
27:10 from backyard grills to a stadium that
27:13 thrills the pregamers come from every
27:16 corner of the globe to witness this. But
27:20 this is not baseball. No, this is the
27:23 arena where these Texas twostep in
27:26 tradition upset. Big hit getting ball
27:29 players await the opening of the gate to
27:32 deliver a Texassized beatd down to
27:35 whoever lines up across from them. And
27:37 tonight, ladies and gentlemen, well, it
27:40 looks like the firefighters are about to
27:42 find out why you don't mess with Texas.
27:52 But no, this is not your granddad's
27:54 pastime. This is not just another night
27:56 at the ballpark. No, this game is
27:59 baseball by birth, but it's fruit by
28:01 name and an absolute worldwide
28:04 phenomenon by the grace of God. So now
28:08 is the time for all of you here in
28:13 Corpus Christi, Texas to get up on your
28:17 feet and give me your voices
28:24 because this is the greatest pregame in
28:27 sports. Ladies and gentlemen, this is
28:30 Final Ball.
28:34 It's time for the starting lineup of
28:37 your Texas tailgator. From the concourse
28:40 in left field, number two, Zack Watson.
28:46 The designated hitter number nine, Nick
28:51 Lopez.
28:53 The extra hitter number 27, Kyle Martin.
29:01 At third base, number six, Jordan.
29:07 At first base, number 85, Taylor
29:11 Justice.
29:13 In right field, number 28, he's brother
29:18 Jose Gonzalez.
29:21 At second base, number 11, M. Dangford.
29:27 behind the played catcher number 26 Tosh
29:32 the quadfather Porter
29:35 in center field number seven Indiana
29:40 Stanley
29:43 at shortstop number five Jordan Hussein
29:49 with a starting pitcher number eight
29:53 Jonathan Hughes
29:57 The Texas tailgator are led by head
30:00 coach Chel Nichol, assisted by coach
30:03 Penny, and coach Andrew, father of the
30:07 tailgate, Bman.
30:18 I don't feel
30:38 >> it's bananable. ball on Valley Sports
30:41 and the Stadium app. It's the
30:44 firefighters. It's the Texas Tailgator.
30:47 And it's game three here in Corpus
30:49 Christie, Texas.
30:53 Come on in and stay a while. He's Zach
30:55 Stton. I'm Brett Loftess. We have a
30:58 great great ball game for you tonight.
30:59 Texas tailgator looking to sweep those
31:02 firefighters. The firefighters looking
31:04 to stop their fivegame
31:06 skid. We welcome you in. Cannot wait to
31:09 play banana ball tonight. But before we
31:10 can do that, we must throw it down to
31:12 the field here at Waterburger Field to
31:14 our national anthem.
31:42 Hey, really appreciate you making
31:46 the national.
31:52 And now, as we honor America with the
31:55 singing of tonight's national anthem,
31:57 please welcome to the field Haley
31:59 Gregory. I will start to grow
32:09 by the dawn early.
32:26 We'll go into our defense
32:34 through the par
32:41 or the railarts
32:44 we watched
32:47 were so gall
32:55 And the rock is red glare.
33:01 The bombs bursting
33:04 in
33:06 gave proof through the night
33:12 that our flag was still there.
33:18 Oh, say does that star spangled
33:28 way
33:33 for the land
33:36 of the free
33:42 and the
33:48 is going to walk off. So, take a little
33:49 breather here.
34:23 Tracy, give it up for
34:29 how blessed are we. The middle children
34:33 of our wonderful sport of an animal, the
34:35 Texas tailgators,
34:38 the firefighters.
34:40 Coming in with inversed records, the
34:42 boys in blue and orange at 15 and 10.
34:44 The boys in fire and flames coming in at
34:47 10 and 15. Where else would you rather
34:50 spend your Saturday night than with us?
34:53 He's sten. I'm Brett Loftess. And what
34:57 is on the line tonight? Well, we'll tell
34:58 you that as we take a look at the
35:01 Tailgator defensive setup here. The
35:04 Tailgator are trying to win their eighth
35:06 straight ball game in Texas and in their
35:08 first ever threeame sweep in their young
35:11 history as the Firefighters trying to
35:13 stop their fivegame skid. And they do so
35:15 with the best defense our sport has to
35:18 offer. That outfield as good as it
35:20 comes. Those corner infielders of Taylor
35:22 Justice and Jordan Bar. Both very elite
35:24 Taylor Justice. 31 of his 34 trick plays
35:28 have come since 35 trick plays, excuse
35:30 me, have come since the banana ball
35:31 open. But up the middle, let me
35:33 introduce you, if you don't already
35:34 know, to Jordan Hussein, the captain of
35:36 his squad at shortstop, and Jonathan
35:39 Sunshine. Looters at second base. Both
35:42 the league leaders in trick plays in our
35:44 sport of banana ball. Taj Porter, he's
35:47 making his 19th straight start behind
35:49 the dish tonight, 16th straight in the
35:51 regular season. And who does he get the
35:53 pleasure to catch tonight? It's his
35:55 battery mate, the man from Flowery
35:57 Branch, Georgia. A five-year pitcher at
36:00 Georgia Tech University and a second
36:02 round draft pick of the Baltimore
36:04 Orioles out of high school. Jonathan
36:07 Hughes, a right-handed fireballer who's
36:10 making just his second regular season
36:12 start, third on the year for the Texas
36:15 Tailgator. Made one in the Banana Ball
36:17 Open. And a big night for him in a spot
36:19 where we all thought the problem starter
36:21 was going to be Chris Clark, the ace of
36:23 the staff. Instead, it's Jonathan Hughes
36:25 and a big start nonetheless for him. The
36:27 lineup that he will face tonight, it'll
36:29 be led off by that man. They call him
36:32 Tiny. His mother, I'm sure, calls him
36:34 Tiner.
36:35 >> And we call him Big Time Impact in the
36:37 Firehouse. 341 average, six straight
36:39 games with a hit here coming tonight.
36:41 Kaden Peanut Green, 395 average, the
36:44 best on the firefighters. The guy I want
36:46 to focus on is Logan Lacy. You saw it in
36:48 our pregame show on the Texas Tailgator
36:50 YouTube channel. had maybe the play of
36:52 all time in banana ball history. The
36:55 firefighters tonight play their 78th
36:57 World Tour contest in the team's
36:59 existence. Logan Lacy has started every
37:02 single one of those 78 contest. This is
37:05 a massive one for him and his
37:07 confidence. Brett Loftess, this is a
37:09 massive one for the firefighters
37:10 tonight.
37:11 >> Andrew Bartman, my favorite father not
37:13 named Brandon Loftess has a microphone.
37:15 >> All right, Corpus Christie, let's close
37:17 this series out. In Banana Ball, we like
37:19 to say start the clock. But here at
37:21 Tailgator Country and in the great state
37:24 of Texas, we're going to say light the
37:26 grill. So help me out on the count of
37:27 three and say light the grill. Ready? 1
37:30 2 3.
37:33 >> Boo.
37:35 >> Showtime.
37:37 >> Leading off for the firefighters, number
37:40 55, Tiner.
37:42 >> Joe Mick lights up the grill.
37:46 How blessed are we? Game three of Banana
37:50 Ball here at Waterburger Field. Jonathan
37:52 Hughes and tiny using a tiny bat
37:57 takes the ball to begin the ball game.
37:58 First pitch at 7:07 Central time local
38:02 from Corpus Christi, Texas.
38:07 >> I'm just going to admit I don't like
38:09 being a little bit on the nose there
38:10 with the tiny bat for tiny.
38:13 >> Don't like it at all.
38:16 He'll swing his regular size bat as he's
38:20 still in the driver's seat here. Two
38:21 balls and a strike. Tiny one for three
38:23 last night.
38:25 >> He is struck out to begin both games
38:28 this weekend.
38:34 >> Out to center. Indiana Stanley. What say
38:37 you? Book it. behind the back trick play
38:42 to begin this ball game tonight for the
38:44 boys in blue and orange.
38:46 >> How much has Indiana Stanley had his
38:48 hands on each of the first two games
38:50 here this weekend? Another trick played.
38:52 That tornado catch just looks so
38:54 perfect. You called him the freakiest
38:56 athlete in the sport and he certainly
38:57 looked like it there.
38:59 >> Wow. Peanut had an opportunity to steal
39:02 first base. That's Kaden Green keeping
39:04 up with the government names at home. He
39:06 is in the MVP conversation at this point
39:09 and last night he continued to further
39:11 that conversation with a solo home run
39:13 in the eighth inning.
39:19 >> Yeah, Kaden Green is the most improved
39:22 in this sport this year in 2026. Was a
39:25 250 hitter last year
39:27 already at 395 this year. Even with a
39:30 couple of tougher weeks over the last
39:32 couple of weekends, he's been superb.
39:36 Chopper to his shortstop counterpart
39:40 J5 booket
39:43 and that's my captain. He was the on the
39:46 receiving end of that three to six
39:48 double play that in last night's ball
39:50 game and he is the engine that powers
39:52 this ball club getting out number two
39:54 here in the top of the first. Kaden
39:56 Green talks about how much he's learned
39:57 from Jordan Hussein. He learns from
39:59 again right there going right back to a
40:01 short stop mate on the other side. Day
40:03 Zay three. Dalton Cornet from Pipa
40:06 Passes Kentucky.
40:09 A man that hit 346 last year. Goes
40:12 inside out deep left field. Watt at the
40:15 wall. Makes a nice running grab. Is
40:18 going three up and three down is
40:20 Jonathan Hughes to begin the ball game
40:22 for the Texas Tailgator.
40:24 >> And did it in just a shade under three
40:26 minutes. That was awfully quick for
40:28 Jonathan Hughes making just his second
40:29 start on the world tour this year. But
40:31 boy, that was an oppo taco almost.
40:34 Instead, it just ends up as a 330 foot
40:36 fly out. As we take a look now at the
40:38 firefighters defense here in the bottom
40:41 half of the frame, led by just like the
40:43 Texas tailgator, the middle infielders,
40:46 Tiner Hughes at second base and Kaden
40:48 Peanut Green. 41 trick plays at
40:50 shortstop. Again, you focus on Logan
40:52 Lacy. The guy didn't have a trick play
40:54 last night on the flipping dugout catch,
40:56 but it's one that we will remember until
40:58 the end of time. and Brett Loth. You and
41:00 I both ran out of breath for a moment.
41:02 We both thought for a second we saw a
41:04 firefighter third baseman maybe lose the
41:06 rest of his season much like Chelsea
41:08 Perez who was sitting behind the
41:10 firefighters dugout. I think she lost
41:12 breath for about 10 seconds.
41:15 That's the firefighters defense. The man
41:17 in the middle is their second round pick
41:19 in the Banana Ball player draft and that
41:22 is Jared Donaldelsson. His fourth world
41:24 tour in Banana Ball. his first with the
41:26 firefighters after three spent with the
41:29 team in yellow in the Savannah Bananas.
41:31 A 2-1 record. He has become the
41:33 everyday, every weekend Saturday
41:35 starter. He's got elite stuff. If he
41:38 throws it tonight against a great Texas
41:39 tail tailgator lineup, he could be
41:41 tremendous again. And it's an inaugural
41:44 firefighter going to lead us off here in
41:46 the home half of the first. They call
41:48 him Watti. Zack Watson, Nick Lopez, and
41:51 Kyle Martin. Your first three hitters in
41:52 that lineup. Jordan Bar, you see
41:54 highlighted in the cleanup spot, leading
41:56 the Texas Tailgator in batting average
41:57 of 414. That ranks currently third best
42:01 in a ring tonight in the Banana Ball
42:02 Championship League.
42:07 >> What a great matchup we have. Jared
42:09 Donaldson, he's the emotional leader of
42:12 this bunch. Got the boys in the fire and
42:14 flames fired up before the ninth inning
42:15 last night. He's a fireballer in every
42:18 essence of it when it comes to the
42:19 emotion of a game. when it comes to the
42:21 fast ball, he throws out of his right
42:22 hand. And Donny's had a really good
42:24 performance. Three scoreless innings
42:26 back in Scottsdale, Arizona against
42:28 these tailgators this year. But then two
42:31 weeks ago, tonight actually gave up five
42:34 earned runs against him. Zack Watson
42:36 will begin the home half of the first
42:38 trying to get a hustle double and he'll
42:40 do so as Wadi belly flops and swims into
42:43 second base.
42:46 >> Well, we heard Val Perez's daughter's a
42:47 big fan of Zack Watson. It may be swings
42:50 like this for the reason why. That gets
42:52 all the way over to the corner. South
42:53 Trimble has to run a mile to get it. And
42:55 already a runner in scoring position.
42:56 Nobody away for Nick Lopez.
43:00 Lopey.
43:02 What a weekend. A guy who was hitting
43:04 230 entering this weekend. You see his
43:06 batting average now 44 points.
43:10 For big reason why last night he went
43:12 three for three. Thursday night in game
43:15 one hit his first ever walk-off home run
43:17 in his baseball/ banana ball career and
43:20 his first ever oppo o o o o o o o o o o
43:21 o o o o o o o o o o opp opposite field
43:22 home run as well.
43:25 >> Those three home runs he's already hit
43:27 in 2026 match his rookie year totals of
43:31 2025 with the boys in blue and orange.
43:35 Lopey hard hit to center field. Armando
43:38 Betta great play for out number one.
43:41 quickly gets it back in to hold Wadi at
43:43 second.
43:44 >> Such a veteran presence in center field.
43:46 You'd be tempted to try to go for a
43:48 trick play there, but Wad's got speed to
43:50 burn at second base. Armando holds him.
43:52 Remember, you can go as soon as the
43:54 trick play is initiated. Soon as a tip
43:57 drill touches the glove, you can go.
43:59 Armando just gets the out to send up
44:01 Kmart.
44:02 >> It's the action. Kyle Martin, the
44:05 33year-old extra hitter from Greenville,
44:08 South Carolina.
44:12 He's hitless
44:15 >> in his career or was. Excuse me. He's
44:19 not hitless tonight. Welcome to the
44:23 auction.
44:26 Home run number 12
44:30 as Kyle Martin makes it eight straight
44:33 weekends with a dinger and gives the
44:36 tailgator a one to nothing lead.
44:54 I can't tell you how much I love Kyle
44:57 Martin. Maybe Michael Schwarz can
45:00 explain it just a little bit.
45:06 >> Kmart 12 on the year now. How good did
45:08 that feel to do it in Texas with the
45:10 tailgator?
45:11 >> Through the win right there. That's
45:12 pretty good. I'll take that any day of
45:14 the week. Yeah, you do.
45:16 >> Go catch his breath. Zack Brit,
45:18 >> where is Latrell?
45:44 What y'all know about white chicks?
45:47 >> What y'all know about the uncction?
45:50 >> Two things that people say were probably
45:54 in their prime in the early 2000s. I'd
45:56 say Kyle Martin is in his prime in 2026.
45:59 That's the movie. White chicks, of
46:01 course. Kyle Martin, he is the auction.
46:04 And these Texas tailgators lead this
46:07 ball game one to nothing as my July
46:09 Jason Art is playing live in left field.
46:13 She's popping right out of the spot.
46:17 Oh, good lord. Having 10 days could help
46:20 myself. So I walked up and said, "Baby,
46:24 you made me want to roll around with
46:29 a background
46:36 Chevy.
46:42 Jason will continue to play because
46:45 where else would you hear a player who's
46:47 actively in a ball game also singing
46:49 concert
46:50 this is banana ball really in essence
46:53 Logan Lacy donates one to the good
46:55 people outside of whatever field
47:00 last night we saw Jason have to get to
47:02 work playing in live and left field
47:05 now over on the right side of the
47:06 infield Taylor Justice Jonathan Sunshine
47:09 Lutters oh sunny
47:12 Tripping over the bat, corraling the
47:14 banana ball for out number one.
47:18 >> It might not be a trick play, but that's
47:20 certainly one heck of a snag there over
47:23 at first base for the second baseman.
47:25 The wind is swirling. Look at this. At
47:27 the last second, has to just matrix back
47:30 to get that one in the glove. That's a
47:32 beautiful play ball from Sunshine. Eric
47:35 Jones Jr. 0 and one. He is hitless this
47:38 weekend. 0 for seven.
47:42 Three for seven. He was hitless last
47:45 night. Pardon me. 0 for four.
47:48 >> Goodness gracious. I was trying to say
47:50 Kmart was hitless Thursday night and
47:52 then he shut me up real quick.
47:55 >> That's all right. He had three singles
47:56 on Thursday night. EJ's been tremendous
47:59 since the month of April started. That
48:01 beautiful mustache, stoic as ever,
48:03 facing an 02 hole.
48:06 Got him. Backwards K for Johnny Boy and
48:10 out number two here in the top of the
48:12 second.
48:13 >> Brett, does this look like a guy that's
48:15 making just his second start on a world
48:16 tour this year?
48:18 >> He's very comfortable beginning bowl
48:20 games. It's what he did all five years
48:22 at Georgia Tech and to start off his
48:25 minor league career in the Phillies
48:26 organization.
48:28 >> He's been the long reliever out of the
48:29 pen. He being Jonathan Hughes a lot this
48:31 year for the tailgator. But he told me
48:33 he is as comfortable as they get when
48:35 he's able to start ball games. The
48:37 confidence that Taj Porter behind the
48:39 plate and steals and Jonathan Hughes is
48:42 paramount. Lars Sparks, he's feeling
48:44 very confident back in his neck of the
48:46 woods in Corpus Christie. Good. Taj
48:49 good. Caught a ball, two balls and a
48:51 strike. Eric Bar calling balls and
48:54 strikes this evening.
48:59 There's
49:00 >> one guy that can jumpst start this
49:01 offensive effort for the firefighters.
49:03 It is the man with the perfect name.
49:05 Five home runs as Jason Art sneaks in
49:07 for ball four sprint defense.
49:13 Now Jason Art drops the microphone,
49:17 comes in to grab the ball. As of all
49:19 four spread, all seven defenders have to
49:22 corral the yellow peel. And Lamar
49:24 Sparts, just like he did last night in
49:25 his first play appearance, gets the ball
49:27 for Sprint.
49:29 >> And by the way, that ball for Sprint
49:30 included defense from Jason Art trying
49:32 to sing on the way into the infield. He
49:35 drops a microphone this time. Learn from
49:36 what happened last night. Lamar made it
49:39 all the way to second base last night.
49:40 He'll call the brakes at first base.
49:43 >> Mason Maxwell comes up empty one that
49:48 gets away from Taj. Taj joking around
49:50 with his good friend Lamar Park saying,
49:51 "No, no, no. Better not try to run on
49:53 me.
49:55 >> One of the best defensive catchers the
49:57 sport has to offer in the quad. Father
49:59 behind home plate for the tailgator.
50:03 He's thrown out the second most runners
50:06 in the league this year. Only second to
50:08 the captain and the longest tenure
50:09 banana baller, Bill Loy.
50:16 >> Wow. Joe Peron protecting our lovely
50:20 entertainment staff over there on that
50:21 foul ball.
50:23 He
50:23 >> was agile, too. Making sure he got away
50:25 from that one.
50:28 >> Mason high chopper. Jordan Bart behind
50:31 the back. Book it.
50:34 Third trick play of the ball game. First
50:36 for Jordan Bart. And how about that?
50:38 Jonathan Hughes has retired six of the
50:41 first seven firefighters he's faced as
50:44 the Tailgator lead it one to nothing. We
50:46 roll on to the home half as the boys in
50:48 blue and orange try to take a two to
50:50 nothing lead. We welcome you to the
50:53 auction and we'll see you on the other
50:56 side.
50:57 >> All of those animals down here
51:01 who are ready to do just that in just a
51:03 moment. There
51:06 will be a couple animals for them to
51:08 grab. They'll have to grab the animal,
51:10 bring it back style. The first team to
51:13 bring back all their animals will win.
51:15 And of course that full marble water,
51:17 ladies and gentlemen, it's full of
51:19 buttermilk branch.
51:21 >> Hey YouTube.
51:22 >> That's right. We call this one.
51:25 >> I don't think they should have let Zach
51:26 and me talk on national TV.
51:29 >> Why not?
51:30 >> We ain't saying no words yet.
51:31 >> I didn't. We have said words.
51:33 >> We said words. We ain't saying them
51:34 words.
51:36 >> What?
51:36 >> The the the bad words. Good. Good. Good.
51:39 Good. Good.
51:41 >> I see another Kmart homer. I might say a
51:43 little bad word on TV. Have to hit that
51:45 cough button, though.
51:47 >> I'm sorry, guys. Full disclosure for all
51:49 of you watching on YouTube. I was trying
51:51 to say he was hitless on Thursday night.
51:53 Two hits last night and then Kmart said,
51:55 "I'm not I'm not hitless tonight at all
51:58 for sure."
51:58 >> Eight straight weekends with a home run.
52:00 You know how many weekends I've been
52:01 going to dinner with him? Eight.
52:04 >> I love that guy, man.
52:07 Can we have a podcast just like whenever
52:10 we're at national commercial break
52:11 tonight? Maybe we'll catch up with Zach.
52:13 How is lovely dogs doing?
52:15 >> Daisy's wonderful. She's getting all the
52:17 treats right now for my wife Logan just
52:20 doing tremendously. Filling my backyard
52:23 with all of her waste.
52:25 >> Caitlyn Sharky in the chat says you'll
52:27 see us next weekend in Charlotte. Good.
52:28 >> We will be there in the 704
52:31 >> cigar between me, you and God. That was
52:34 about uh about an hour from where I grew
52:36 up at in Charlotte, North Carolina. I
52:38 can't wait for next weekend.
52:41 >> I say we go get a NASCAR and drive at a
52:43 Charlotte Motor Speedway. What you say?
52:45 >> I say we have to be quiet because we're
52:47 about to come back from commercial
52:48 break.
53:02 It's Banana Ball on Valley Sports in
53:04 Stadium and he's Jordan Bar
53:08 lead us off in the home half of the
53:09 second after Kyle Martin hit a two-run
53:12 walk-off jack in the first inning.
53:17 Jordan Bar, what a second round pick
53:19 it's been this year for the Texas
53:20 Tailgator, hitting 419
53:23 top five in all the banana ball
53:27 got a ball in two against an all the
53:29 banana ball veteran and first year
53:31 firefighter Jared Donaldelsson
53:36 it's a great hold off there from Jordan
53:38 as that one sneaks inside last time he
53:40 faced Jared Donaldson two home runs in
53:42 El Paso against him
53:44 >> peanut tough bounce goes between the
53:47 legs Mason behind the back book it book
53:50 it The first two trick plays tonight for
53:53 the Firefox.
53:55 >> We said peanut powers for real last
53:57 night. Peanut butter right there. Smooth
54:00 as you could get. And then Mason
54:01 Maxwell, great plus there on the end of
54:04 that at first base to make it a double
54:06 trick play. You got to keep pace with an
54:08 historic Texas Tailgator defense.
54:11 >> What would we possibly have here?
54:21 I'm over calling you. I said I was
54:25 through but I'm
54:27 inside my head. Girl, I confess what I
54:32 said
54:34 and I'm not coming back. I feel the only
54:40 see your face in my brain. I let up
54:44 everything I want to say.
54:50 They're doing the swag surf
54:54 >> over the top of one number.
54:58 >> It doesn't get much more tailgator coded
55:01 than that.
55:04 >> Two worlds colliding.
55:07 Impaler justice getting ahead one and
55:09 up.
55:10 >> If I may tell you a secret between me,
55:13 you and God.
55:17 I scroll on Tik Tok a good bit as the
55:20 youngsters do. There's a Tik Tok account
55:22 I ran across that remixes country music
55:25 with the R&B and rap hits of today and
55:27 yesterday and I said, "Goodness gracious
55:30 alive." I heard Swag Surf with Luke
55:32 Combmes and it just made me feel
55:34 something that I've never quite felt
55:35 before. I mean, what an incredible walk
55:38 up for these Texas Tailgators. And how
55:40 about this? The fans of Corpus Christi
55:43 being able to be involved in that.
55:48 3 0 has turned into a full count between
55:50 Donnie and Taylor Justice.
55:52 >> We are going to set the record at this
55:53 point for foul balls put into the merge
55:55 tails here.
55:59 >> Ball for spread. Taylor Justice has
56:02 gotten one of those in all three games
56:05 now this weekend.
56:08 By the way, I meant to say merch tents,
56:10 not Merch Tales. I don't know what a
56:12 merch tail is. Maybe it's a a a tail
56:16 wrapped in clothing of an animal. Sounds
56:19 like an animal from the Amazon. Oo,
56:21 merchtails. Good.
56:24 Jose brother Gonzalez.
56:29 Oh, and one. You see he has a little
56:31 something hidden under his tailgator
56:33 jersey. Be interested to see what that
56:35 is later in this ball game. The man from
56:38 Spring, Texas.
56:44 brother.
56:46 >> He's got to hit both ball games. Had a
56:47 double last night.
56:50 >> Powerful left-handed bat. Has five home
56:53 runs this year.
56:55 That ranks top five in the BBCL.
57:01 >> Home run hack right there. Zack doing
57:02 two and two. Donnie and Brother faced
57:04 off against each other in Scottsdale
57:06 when brother was the golden batter and
57:08 Donnie got him struck out to end a
57:09 frame. A massive one
57:13 >> and he thought he had a massive strike
57:14 out right there.
57:18 Another payoff pitch coming from Donnie
57:22 right side. Tiner looking for one to
57:25 second and a triple trick play double
57:28 play. No,
57:30 caught him safe at first.
57:33 Oh, Mason's confidently asking for a
57:35 challenge. Confidently came right off
57:37 the bag
57:39 >> and said, "Go for it."
57:46 >> Oh, we see the banana ball. You You You
57:48 lose it.
57:49 >> I can't see it. There. Is there a
57:51 different angle we could possibly see
57:53 this from?
57:53 >> From the opposite side would be the
57:56 preferred angle.
58:00 A challenge has been initiated.
58:03 >> Oh yeah, Tiner. Woo! Flex on him. Tiny,
58:06 do it again. Let's see what we got here.
58:07 We could go slow. Very
58:10 >> No, we can see it. Can we go back here a
58:11 few frames if possible?
58:14 >> Oh, this will tell us everything we need
58:16 to know. As slowly as we possibly can.
58:19 See the banana ball? You see it? You see
58:20 it? You see it? When his brother's
58:23 foot's on the bag and the banana ball is
58:24 not quite in the mid, it doesn't get
58:26 closer than that. I think Jose Gonzalez
58:28 Jr. is safe. That'll officially go down
58:31 four to six fielders choice, but a trick
58:33 play nonetheless for these firefighters.
58:36 And that would make it three-3 in the
58:38 trick play column as the umpires are
58:41 back out.
58:42 >> The call stands. Runner is saved.
58:47 >> As bang bang as they get. You can't
58:49 blame Mason Maxwell for thinking he got
58:51 it.
58:53 But the Gator trade places with brother
58:55 at first and two away as Donnie trying
58:58 to get out of the second inning with a
59:00 clean zero a top.
59:02 >> My July, you just heard him singing live
59:05 in left field heading in the place of
59:08 Matt Danford.
59:19 >> Jason sprayed out to right.
59:22 Darien makes the play oldfashioned way
59:25 for out number three. And that will keep
59:28 the tailgator at bay here in the second
59:30 inning. They still lead the ball game
59:32 one to nothing.
59:35 >> But this is really the first time the
59:37 firefighters are facing pressure, but
59:38 they're right there in trick place.
59:40 Brett, that's huge. As we come back for
59:42 the third inning right here on Valley
59:44 Sports in the Stadium app.
59:46 >> I just want to be in this
59:59 Hey guys, I got news for you. It
1:00:02 definitely isn't the most fired up side
1:00:04 because over here with me, I've got the
1:00:06 entire first base side all the way out
1:00:10 into right field.
1:00:13 We're going to win this thing. DJ, give
1:00:15 me song number one.
1:00:18 I tell you
1:00:34 >> and the first round of tonight's singoff
1:00:37 goes to the first base side,
1:00:45 >> Jonathan Hughes.
1:00:47 He's retired six of the first seven
1:00:50 batters he's faced tonight. As we roll
1:00:53 on to the top of third, he's Zach State.
1:00:55 I'm Brett Loft watching here on Valley
1:00:58 Sports in the Stadium app.
1:01:03 >> Zack, what has been your favorite thing
1:01:05 about Corpus Christie? I must ask. What
1:01:07 a burger.
1:01:08 >> Good. Had it three times already. Not
1:01:11 the healthiest decision, but boy was it
1:01:12 good.
1:01:13 >> That can't be real. Darren McDow has
1:01:15 played 0 and one.
1:01:16 >> Oh, it is.
1:01:17 >> Did you get the same order all three
1:01:18 times?
1:01:18 >> Yep.
1:01:19 >> Double meat burger. Jalapenos on that
1:01:21 bad boy.
1:01:23 >> Is that what it's called? Double meat
1:01:24 burger.
1:01:25 >> Yes, it's double meat water burger on
1:01:26 there.
1:01:27 >> I am quoting it. Please don't flag me.
1:01:31 >> The one-1 pitch from Hughes turned into
1:01:33 a ball and two. Now,
1:01:36 >> Darren McDall owns about every hitting
1:01:38 record you could possibly find at the
1:01:40 University of West Florida.
1:01:42 That's why the firefighters took him
1:01:44 late in the banana ball player draft.
1:01:45 It's why he was a sixthround pick for
1:01:47 the San Diego Padres's in the 2024
1:01:49 draft. You've already seen him with a
1:01:51 big fly this weekend.
1:01:56 Swatz
1:01:57 the banana out to right. Brother
1:02:01 tip drill. Book it. Book it.
1:02:08 How good is Jonathan Sunshine? Looters
1:02:11 and how blessed are we to exist in the
1:02:13 same timeline that he is the second
1:02:15 baseman for the Texas Tailgator.
1:02:17 >> You cannot bring up any sort of lazy
1:02:19 contact into the air or the tailgator
1:02:22 are going to square up like that with a
1:02:24 tip drill into the hat. It's just what
1:02:26 they do. They have absolutely turned
1:02:28 trick plays into their behemoth.
1:02:32 >> Oh, off the foot of Jonathan Hughes. The
1:02:35 Conor McFad running. Jonathan Hughes
1:02:37 home now.
1:02:39 31 like you hardly ever see.
1:02:43 That's hustle. Pitchers are athletes,
1:02:46 too. I want to see a replay of this. Can
1:02:48 we look? I think they might have turned
1:02:50 a trick play on this. Can't see it here.
1:02:53 I think Taylor Justice flipped that
1:02:55 between his legs to make sure he got it.
1:02:58 Look at this
1:03:01 off his ankle. He did.
1:03:03 >> Bucket.
1:03:06 That's the most delayed booking we've
1:03:08 had in the history of the tailgating.
1:03:09 But by God, if it wasn't amazing, man.
1:03:15 >> And that one hits Armando Betetta.
1:03:17 Much like last night,
1:03:21 I'd rather not talk about
1:03:24 I instigated him. Ooh,
1:03:28 Mondo running backwards.
1:03:32 Ooh, we're doing this in reverse. Didn't
1:03:34 get that. Let me rewind it for
1:03:37 We're going in reverse.
1:03:40 >> Number 55,
1:03:42 Tyler Tiny Hughes.
1:03:44 >> Sounded like them old VHS machines.
1:03:50 I know you remember those.
1:03:53 My old ancient brain does. And then I
1:03:55 grew up with VHS. My mama has my entire
1:03:59 childhood documented on VHS tapes. Same.
1:04:02 Wow. Same. Wow.
1:04:05 That was a call that was made. Ball and
1:04:06 a strike.
1:04:13 >> How about that, man? Funny how things
1:04:15 work. Two balls in a strike. Tiner flew
1:04:18 out to center field to begin the ball
1:04:20 game in the first.
1:04:29 >> The fans perhaps. There's a lot of
1:04:31 backspin on it. Yes. No,
1:04:36 this gentleman is 50 ft away from us and
1:04:38 he did not bring his glove.
1:04:41 How dare he not bring his glove. There's
1:04:43 a man with a tailgator's hat who was
1:04:45 fully prepared to catch that. Instead,
1:04:47 we do deuces wild. Two balls, two
1:04:48 strikes, two outs. Tiner stand alive.
1:04:52 Tiner was determined today when I talked
1:04:54 to him about facing Jonathan Hughes. He
1:04:55 said every time he went up against him,
1:04:56 he struck him out. He didn't in his
1:04:58 first AB. Maybe not exactly what he
1:05:00 wanted, but a great opportunity here.
1:05:04 >> Tiner
1:05:06 deep left. Wally watches it go foul.
1:05:12 Are you serious? I don't even think
1:05:15 centimeters can describe how close that
1:05:17 was to leaving this ballpark.
1:05:21 That was millimeters. Maybe millimeters.
1:05:30 falling off to right. Sunshine on his
1:05:32 horse.
1:05:33 >> Brother calls him off but can't make the
1:05:36 grab.
1:05:37 Be an interesting scoring decision
1:05:39 there.
1:05:42 I got it down maybe as a single here cuz
1:05:44 nobody made a play on it. Nobody's glove
1:05:46 touched it. But boy, think about the
1:05:48 difference that just happened there.
1:05:50 Tiner nearly had a two-1 blast. goes
1:05:52 left of the pole by a few inches and
1:05:55 then just barely flips one down in front
1:05:57 of brother tried to make the call off on
1:06:00 Sunshine and that falls in. Now runners
1:06:02 on the corners for Young Nut. What that
1:06:06 mean
1:06:09 >> officially will go down as an E9.
1:06:16 >> Peanut trying to sell that he got that
1:06:19 he got hit by that. Eric of not not
1:06:21 buying.
1:06:29 >> Firefighters are a ball away from
1:06:31 plating their first run of the night.
1:06:34 Johnny boy takes a little bit of time
1:06:35 grabbing the rods and bag from behind
1:06:37 the rubber
1:06:43 right down what drive to get back in the
1:06:45 zone.
1:06:46 >> Does that exist? It sure does. Good.
1:06:51 left side. Jordan Bar tough play backand
1:06:54 >> throws it almost in the tailgator's
1:06:56 dugout but Taylor Justice makes a great
1:06:58 play to keep it in front of him. And now
1:07:01 the firefighters gathering on home plate
1:07:03 have something for us.
1:07:15 about
1:07:18 me
1:07:20 now.
1:07:27 Now,
1:07:36 >> it's such a tough play to make down the
1:07:38 line there by Jordan Barnes. incredible
1:07:39 hustle that will go down as an RBI
1:07:43 single officially.
1:07:44 >> And I think I think that's the right
1:07:46 call. It's it's an incredibly difficult
1:07:47 throw for Jordan Bar to make going the
1:07:49 opposite way across the diamond. That's
1:07:51 a big one though for the firefighters.
1:07:53 Their first run. What you know about
1:07:54 Limp Biscuit, by the way.
1:07:56 >> By the way, first hit of the ball game
1:07:59 tonight for the firefighters as well.
1:08:01 >> Yep.
1:08:03 >> Rough way to get it too, man. Jonathan
1:08:05 Hughes cruising through two and two/3
1:08:07 and Aaron and an infield single for the
1:08:10 firefighters able to plate their first
1:08:11 run.
1:08:14 >> Dton Cornette couple of foul balls. He's
1:08:16 behind 0 and two.
1:08:18 >> I just want to put that one in fair
1:08:19 play, Brett. That's all I want. Put it
1:08:21 in fair play. DC3.
1:08:23 >> Yeah, man. That's my passes. I love DC.
1:08:27 He's my best friend.
1:08:30 >> Taj, man. Gosh, he's so good. does a
1:08:33 good job of keeping it in front of him.
1:08:34 >> He has had some saves tonight and this
1:08:36 weekend that just save innings, they
1:08:39 save runs. They save bases. The biggest,
1:08:42 the largest.
1:08:47 I said that
1:08:52 >> sunshine.
1:08:54 >> Book it for out number three.
1:08:59 But a run does come home to score for
1:09:01 the firefighters vi single for Kaden
1:09:03 Green. And now one of the most special
1:09:06 nights of any Banana Bowl game. It's
1:09:08 Bananas Foster.
1:09:09 >> Bananas Foster, Victoria Rudolph.
1:09:14 Across the United States, there are over
1:09:16 400,000 children and teens in foster
1:09:19 care without a permanent home. To raise
1:09:22 awareness and support this community, we
1:09:25 created Bananas Foster, the official
1:09:28 nonprofit of Banana Ball. Our
1:09:31 organization is dedicated to celebrating
1:09:33 the foster care community while
1:09:36 educating and inspiring others to get
1:09:38 involved. And tonight we are celebrating
1:09:41 the Rosari family.
1:09:44 Lynn and Robert became licensed with the
1:09:46 goal of providing a safe home to
1:09:49 children in need of stability.
1:09:52 On top of being a foster mom and a
1:09:54 teacher, Lynn also helps run their local
1:09:58 foster closet, which serves over 600
1:10:02 children.
1:10:08 In total, they have welcomed two
1:10:10 long-term placements into their home and
1:10:13 adopted one into their family forever.
1:10:17 fans. Please help us celebrate this
1:10:20 family for their impact in your
1:10:22 community.
1:10:40 I
1:10:42 feel
1:10:58 >> Wow. The Rosari family. Six years of
1:11:00 fostering. Another one of the most
1:11:02 beautiful and special moments of every
1:11:04 single Banana Ball game. And how blessed
1:11:06 are we to be a small part of honoring
1:11:09 such an incredible family. You can text
1:11:11 Bunch to 50155 and support Bananas
1:11:15 Foster.
1:11:17 One- nothing ball game.
1:11:47 Love you guys. YouTube love bananas
1:11:50 foster in the chat as well.
1:12:01 Get down.
1:12:27 YouTube, please tell me what you ate for
1:12:29 dinner in the chat.
1:12:31 >> That's what I would like to know.
1:12:34 >> I've eaten a lot of chicken tenders
1:12:36 today.
1:12:55 What a Burgerfield, Corpus Christi,
1:12:57 Texas. One of the most beautiful
1:12:59 spectacles of a ballpark you will ever
1:13:01 see. And there he is, the biggest, the
1:13:04 largest Taj Porter leading us off here
1:13:07 in the bottom of third. Home run on
1:13:10 Thursday night. 0 for two last night. He
1:13:12 Indiana Stanley and Jordan Hussein 8 n
1:13:14 and 10 here for the tailgator.
1:13:18 >> Want to point out two things. Jared
1:13:19 Donaldson clean inning in the second. I
1:13:21 think that starts to spark his
1:13:23 confidence. Tailgator's just got four
1:13:24 trick plays in the third. Very quiet.
1:13:29 >> Jonathan Sunshine Lutter something to
1:13:31 watch out for tonight. He's already got
1:13:32 two of them. Trick plays. That is six
1:13:35 away from 100 this year. If Sunshine
1:13:38 could get to 100 tonight or even next
1:13:41 weekend in Charlotte, he will become the
1:13:43 quickest banana ball player ever to 100
1:13:46 trick plays in the season. Jared
1:13:48 Donaldson a big time poche as he says
1:13:52 relax after he gets out number one in
1:13:54 the third
1:13:54 >> again. Maybe that clean inning is just
1:13:57 what the doctor ordered on Donnie day.
1:13:59 That famous splitter working to
1:14:01 perfection as it breaks below the knees.
1:14:03 EJ catching him for the first time since
1:14:05 Greenville. And I think you're starting
1:14:06 to see that confidence between the
1:14:08 long-term battery mates.
1:14:12 >> Called strike to Indiana Stanley. That
1:14:15 was a saucy slider.
1:14:17 >> You don't see Donnie makes that in a
1:14:19 whole lot. Goes right back to it. Gets
1:14:21 the same result. A guy who told me if he
1:14:24 settles in after the first, it's going
1:14:25 to be dangerous.
1:14:27 >> Looked dangerous there in the second.
1:14:29 Already got one out. And they had one
1:14:31 and two here against a man who went yard
1:14:33 on Thursday night.
1:14:36 and has a one out single here in the
1:14:39 bottom of the third. Mr. Stanley, I tell
1:14:41 you what, dude has been heating up. I
1:14:44 got a uh an indie shirt that was given
1:14:46 to me by one of our great great fans in
1:14:49 Tailgator land and I wore it to the
1:14:51 ballpark today because I was like I feel
1:14:54 like something special is going to
1:14:54 happen with the weekend. He's had the
1:14:56 web gems, the trick plays, the home run,
1:14:58 and a one out single from him right
1:15:00 there. And it's the captain, Jordan
1:15:01 Hussein, who comes up empty against one
1:15:03 of his really good friends in this life,
1:15:05 Jared Donaldson.
1:15:09 >> Quickly 0 and two. Wow.
1:15:16 >> Think every firefighter fan with a check
1:15:18 over to first as that one goes in the
1:15:20 dirt. Oh my goodness. Throw down to
1:15:22 second. Tiny. Make sure that doesn't get
1:15:24 into the outfield. Those are the
1:15:26 mistakes that cannot happen. And it
1:15:28 happened a couple times at Scranton on
1:15:30 checks over to first. That one gets away
1:15:32 from Donnie on the low throw. And now a
1:15:34 runner in scoring position.
1:15:36 That was weird. It's one of the weirdest
1:15:38 plays I think I've ever seen.
1:15:41 >> Pickoff attempt. Just got away from
1:15:44 Mason Maxwell.
1:15:48 >> Logan Lacy did a really good job of
1:15:50 backing that play up, too. Man, that
1:15:52 ball gets away after the throwback to
1:15:53 Donnie. It could have been real trouble
1:15:55 there. Indie might win went first to
1:15:58 third not just to first to second J5
1:16:01 left side that'll get down Joe Mik big
1:16:04 time stop sign as South Treble the
1:16:06 designated fielder tonight comes up
1:16:08 throwing now runners on the corners as
1:16:11 we turn the lineup card with one out to
1:16:13 the leadoff man Zack Watson again now
1:16:15 you see why some of those things can
1:16:17 come up big would have been just runners
1:16:19 on second and first with one away
1:16:21 instead now it's runners on the corner
1:16:22 for the guy who had a leadoff double in
1:16:24 this in this contest
1:16:30 I don't know what it is for Wy man, but
1:16:33 past couple weekends he's been a
1:16:35 different human.
1:16:43 >> Man, we got a good comment in the
1:16:44 YouTube chat here. I'll tell you about
1:16:46 it after this 200.
1:16:48 There is a health question there
1:16:50 necessary to watch Tailgator games. One,
1:16:51 do you have heart conditions? Two, do
1:16:53 you have high blood pressure? Three, any
1:16:56 anxiety disorders? Yep. We go down to
1:16:59 the final wire here with the tailgator.
1:17:01 Ball for Sprint will play to run here in
1:17:04 the third. Jared Donaldson is not happy
1:17:07 right now. And he should be. That's
1:17:09 strike one all the way right there. I
1:17:10 don't like to be the guy that points
1:17:12 that out.
1:17:13 >> Zack Watson is at first. Jordan Hussein
1:17:16 goes first to third.
1:17:19 and Jared Donaldelsson.
1:17:26 Now he's trying to avoid giving up a
1:17:28 walk-off.
1:17:32 Tailgators have at least pushed the
1:17:33 inning.
1:17:37 To your point though, Zach,
1:17:39 >> Donnie has a serious gripe there.
1:17:41 Massive. A massive one. That now negates
1:17:44 a point for the firefighters on a ball
1:17:47 four sprint.
1:17:49 But
1:17:49 >> again, this is where the controllables
1:17:51 have to go in your favor if you're the
1:17:52 firefighters.
1:17:54 >> The check over to first breaks down and
1:17:56 all of a sudden the Gator have an
1:17:57 opportunity to walk this inning off.
1:18:00 Lopei out to shallow center. It lands in
1:18:04 no man's land and Nick Lopez continues
1:18:08 to be hotter than the Sahara.
1:18:12 A walk-off RBI single here in the third.
1:18:15 gives the boys in blue and orange. A two
1:18:18 to nothing lead.
1:18:24 >> What Nick Lopez does, man. And he eats a
1:18:26 little kebab over there at first. He
1:18:28 just hits the banana ball. It may be
1:18:31 hard. It may be soft, but it's going to
1:18:32 find green grass. And he's going to play
1:18:34 a lot of runs. Tailgator already with
1:18:36 four runs tonight. Two points to nine.
1:18:38 And now we have something brand new.
1:18:41 It's firefighter coded. It's the
1:18:43 Dalmatian race, Chief.
1:18:48 >> Ladies and gentlemen, if you are a
1:18:49 Banana Ball fan, you might have seen
1:18:51 this game before. Some people call it
1:18:53 the world's slowest race, but here in
1:18:55 the Banana Ball fire department, we call
1:18:58 it the Dalmatian race. We have Carson,
1:19:03 Coulter, Josiah, Maverick, Joeen,
1:19:05 Emerson, and Casey. Whoever crosses the
1:19:08 finish line first will be the winner of
1:19:10 the Dalmatian race. On your mark, get
1:19:13 set, drop your babies.
1:19:17 >> Run to the dog house.
1:19:20 >> Look at them. It's 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Mini
1:19:25 Chiefs dressed up in Dalmatian uniforms.
1:19:29 There's one crawling on all fours.
1:19:33 Rumbling, bumbling, stumbling,
1:19:37 curving. Now straightening it up. This
1:19:41 is your glory race. Wow. It's not even
1:19:45 close. On the outside, a youngster
1:19:48 getting going. The leader has stopped.
1:19:51 Now she's back going, barking at the
1:19:54 finish line. She's crying. She's
1:19:57 sitting. She's won.
1:20:01 How about that for a Dalmatian race? And
1:20:04 three of those young Dalmatians never
1:20:07 moved an inch.
1:20:10 That's your winner. The Dalmatian
1:20:14 loving grub
1:20:16 >> somewhere.
1:20:18 Chief is crying some puppy tears.
1:20:20 >> He's been honored. For those that don't
1:20:22 know Chief, the official Dalmatian and
1:20:24 dog of the firefighters,
1:20:26 >> the first ever Dalmatian bat dog, a
1:20:28 history maker. That young child just
1:20:31 made history.
1:20:35 >> How about that Victor Lemon Yama jersey
1:20:37 out there? Big game seven tonight for
1:20:40 the Thunder and the Spurs.
1:20:41 >> Don't talk about the biggest and the
1:20:43 largest.
1:20:43 >> I know, right? Game seven, Western
1:20:45 Conference Finals. I got distracted a
1:20:47 little bit by that ball in a strike.
1:20:48 Jonathan, he was Logan Lacy. Oh my gosh.
1:20:51 Logan was trying to hit that one to San
1:20:52 Antonio. One and two.
1:20:56 He popped out to Sunshine in this first
1:20:59 half. Got it. Jonathan Hughes d up for
1:21:04 out number one of the fourth.
1:21:07 The firefighters really got to find
1:21:09 their energy and their execution here.
1:21:12 Logan Lacy swung a great bat since the
1:21:14 banana ball open, but Jonathan Hughes
1:21:16 has a two-point advantage on him right
1:21:18 now. And he looks like a pitcher with
1:21:20 all his confidence. Mr. Jones 0 and one.
1:21:27 Eric Jones Jr. has one of the most
1:21:28 underrated mustaches our sport has. He
1:21:32 just misses an extra base. He's hit by
1:21:33 about 3 ft. People don't talk enough
1:21:35 about his mustache. Large part due to it
1:21:37 because he didn't have it during his
1:21:39 tenure with the Bananas, but as a
1:21:40 firefighter, he's sporting it well.
1:21:41 >> Yeah. The second he got drafted, he said
1:21:43 that was the journey of the stash. It
1:21:45 started right there when he was out in
1:21:46 San Diego on his vacation. Got drafted,
1:21:48 put on a red shirt and said, "Let's grow
1:21:50 this bad boy out."
1:21:57 The biggest, the largest is just a brick
1:22:00 wall that moves laterally so well behind
1:22:04 home plate.
1:22:09 >> I chopper J5. What say you? Takes off
1:22:12 the glove. Goes between the legs. Book
1:22:15 it. Oh, captain. My captain, you too
1:22:19 cool for school.
1:22:21 He abandoned the glove midway through
1:22:23 that and it actually made it so maybe
1:22:24 even No, it didn't. He caught that with
1:22:26 the bare hand. He never even used the
1:22:28 glove.
1:22:30 >> Now
1:22:31 there's Oh my I have no idea guys. Let's
1:22:34 look at home play. Oh. Oh,
1:22:40 >> oil.
1:22:46 >> Stop playing girl. Come on, baby girl. I
1:22:50 didn't mean to shout. I wanted you to
1:22:52 work it out. I never hurt my baby and
1:22:57 it's driving me crazy cuz I'm so
1:23:00 lonely.
1:23:02 >> Mr. Lonely.
1:23:13 Please tell me he's going to hit the
1:23:14 tower.
1:23:16 >> Brett,
1:23:17 >> your wish is big star Lamar's command.
1:23:21 He thought about doing it with the
1:23:23 without the helmet with the towel still
1:23:25 on his hair. That would not have been
1:23:27 smart.
1:23:28 >> And also, it was falling. Anyway,
1:23:30 >> Jonathan Hughes is one of his good
1:23:31 friends in this life.
1:23:34 gives him a first pitch heater as the
1:23:36 towel unravels.
1:23:38 >> Look at Taj.
1:23:43 >> Oh, he wanted it back. Tiny didn't give
1:23:46 it to him. He was trying to get wrapped
1:23:47 around. Oh my goodness gracious.
1:23:54 >> Lamar had to take about 5 minutes to
1:23:55 learn how to twist that towel around his
1:23:57 head. By the way, this morning with our
1:23:58 good friend Sarah,
1:24:01 >> it's harder than it looks. It really
1:24:03 shout out my mother Heather. She taught
1:24:06 me how to do that. I had long hair one
1:24:07 time in my life and I needed to tie the
1:24:09 towel around my head.
1:24:13 Lamar barking at Jonathan BK.
1:24:18 You don't like BK. You're the problem.
1:24:21 I know that's right.
1:24:23 >> Two balls, two strikes, two outs. Lamar
1:24:25 Sparks runs it full. Remember, he's
1:24:29 already earned a ball for Sprint. Tiner
1:24:31 good.
1:24:32 If Bradford Webb ever winks at me like
1:24:34 he did in that mirror, by the way, I'm
1:24:35 in trouble.
1:24:40 >> Jordan Bar chopper
1:24:43 oldfashioned five to3 put out for out
1:24:46 number three here in the fourth. Wow,
1:24:49 man. If you didn't know any better,
1:24:52 you'd think Jonathan Hughes has been
1:24:55 doing this all year. This is only his
1:24:57 second regular season start and he's
1:25:00 threw four with zero runs, one allowed.
1:25:03 Tailgators lead it two to nothing here
1:25:04 in Corpus Christi.
1:25:30 Ooh. Ah.
1:25:33 >> Folks, I'm receiving word that on that
1:25:36 bridge is a wild beaver.
1:25:40 >> I hope we can find him. You know my
1:25:42 thoughts about that. Ooh. Ah.
1:25:47 It's probably Bo's thoughts, too.
1:25:57 >> Where's he at?
1:25:59 >> I believe he's on that first pillar.
1:26:02 That's right over the left field
1:26:04 bleachers here.
1:26:07 >> Oh. Oh, we got him. You can see him
1:26:09 barely in this shot.
1:26:11 >> He's Well, stop. Oh.
1:26:16 Can we zoom out to see where he's at?
1:26:18 >> Slow pan, please. Slow pan. There was a
1:26:20 scooter. He took one of those lime
1:26:22 scooters up there.
1:26:24 >> Just watch. We don't have to say
1:26:26 anything.
1:26:30 >> Cinema.
1:26:35 Gosh. Incredible work by our BTV staff.
1:26:40 >> Guys, we've just made it back in the
1:26:42 ballpark at this point. You the little
1:26:44 spectacle.
1:26:46 Look at that.
1:26:53 >> I'm flabbergasted at what we just seen.
1:27:10 >> Zack Stton. The boys in red and black
1:27:13 have a new left in the ball game.
1:27:14 >> It's B Mo F Show, the man who was
1:27:18 teammates in college with the famed Noah
1:27:22 and Bridges. Excuse me, Noah and Zachary
1:27:24 Bridges. My goodness, I've just lost my
1:27:27 ability to talk. He's a hard thrower, a
1:27:30 fast thrower, and he's going to have to
1:27:31 get things working quick, fast, and in a
1:27:33 hurry against a dangerous Kyle Martin
1:27:36 and the Texas Hailgator lineup already
1:27:37 with two points on the board. Kmart had
1:27:39 a two-run shaft and walked off the
1:27:41 first.
1:27:43 Boys and blue and orange put up two more
1:27:44 in the third.
1:27:47 Zack Watson an RBI ball for Sprint Grub
1:27:50 up on the bridge
1:27:53 and then at Nick Lopez walked off the
1:27:55 third via RBI single.
1:27:59 >> Here's what I want to know. So we got
1:28:00 two and two here. How long does it take
1:28:02 Bo to get down from the bridge back
1:28:04 inside of Waterburger Field?
1:28:09 I'm serious.
1:28:10 >> If he had his way, he'd probably back
1:28:12 flip off of it and land on his feet and
1:28:13 go right to left field. It's not
1:28:15 possible.
1:28:16 >> Okay. Well, he has disappeared.
1:28:19 >> What has he
1:28:23 >> guys? It's a developing story
1:28:26 >> cuz I can't see him from the press box.
1:28:28 I even when I stand up and I'm a tall
1:28:29 fellow by tall, I mean I'm six foot. I'm
1:28:31 a good guy.
1:28:37 Full count BBO Kmart
1:28:43 >> and a backwards K from one of UNC
1:28:46 Wilmington's finest
1:28:50 >> B Mo Fau going right after one of the
1:28:54 best power hitters in the sport and
1:28:56 holding his own. As you look at the
1:28:58 lefty,
1:29:01 it's a heater and it works right there.
1:29:03 Eric Byron punching the ticket.
1:29:07 >> Cold strike to Jordan Bar Mcadoodle and
1:29:10 Grub.
1:29:11 >> Yeah, if you get that call every atbat,
1:29:13 I think he'd live up there. Tiner
1:29:16 between the legs
1:29:18 beneath the legs. Book it. Book it. Mad
1:29:21 Max and Tiny. And look, there's still
1:29:24 time here for the firing flames to get
1:29:26 that equalizer point. They're down just
1:29:29 three trick plays. And if you start
1:29:31 going after these double trick plays,
1:29:33 that's your best way to get back into
1:29:35 it. And already quickly two down here
1:29:37 for the Texas Tailgator.
1:29:41 >> 0 and one to Taylor Justice. Zag
1:29:44 mentioned you're unfamiliar with the
1:29:45 sport of banana ball. The equalizer
1:29:47 point. That is when the away team has
1:29:50 more trick plays than the home team.
1:29:53 >> The tailgator as the home team this year
1:29:55 have only given up the equalizer point
1:29:57 twice.
1:29:59 This is their 16th home game of the
1:30:01 year.
1:30:02 >> He is still up there.
1:30:04 >> Good ball on a scooter.
1:30:10 >> Taylor
1:30:12 in foul territory. Mason tip drill. Book
1:30:15 it.
1:30:18 One trick play for Mason Maxwell in
1:30:21 three up and three down for Blake
1:30:24 Morgan. Mason Maxwell's already got
1:30:26 three trick plays. That might have been
1:30:27 his toughest Mason. Please don't ever
1:30:29 scare me like that again. Falling like
1:30:32 that. But hey, that shows the maturation
1:30:34 of that young man at a new position.
1:30:36 Nearing 30 trick play outs in his first
1:30:39 fulltime year at first base. Brett 18th
1:30:42 home game, by the way, for the Tailgator
1:30:44 this year. 12 and five in their home
1:30:46 games. Only giving up two equalizer
1:30:48 points right now. Six trick plays for
1:30:51 the Firefighters. Eight for the
1:30:52 Tailgator. And there are some tailgators
1:30:55 and two steppers on the field.
1:31:06 Rap your sit
1:31:15 up
1:31:18 go
1:31:25 up go Go
1:31:34 fing
1:31:40 apology.
1:31:53 Hey ladies. Everybody get it lined up.
1:31:58 >> Give it up for your Texas twostepers and
1:32:02 your Texas tailgator.
1:32:08 The wonder from down under and the
1:32:10 craziest man I know. Brett Donnie Allen
1:32:15 appeared Thursday night where he threw a
1:32:18 scoreless frame in a really cool 143
1:32:22 double play to get himself out of a jam.
1:32:24 Erra's high, all four sprints are high.
1:32:27 But if Donnie can do what he did on
1:32:28 Thursday night and get out of big time
1:32:30 jams, that RA is going to come down and
1:32:33 he's going to be a guy that's going to
1:32:34 be used in this role as he is tonight a
1:32:36 lot more in 2026. one of the 14 visitors
1:32:39 from last year, the developmental team
1:32:41 in Banana Ball on the World Tour in 2025
1:32:44 along with his teammate Brett Sanchez
1:32:46 and Tiner Hughes of the Firefighters.
1:32:48 Shows you how important that club has
1:32:51 become to the sport this year. There are
1:32:53 14 of those guys spread across our six
1:32:55 teams. Seven of them, by the way, on the
1:32:57 Loco Beach Coconuts, coached by the
1:32:59 visitors head coach Mark Roco. But
1:33:01 Donnie Allen, you can see the importance
1:33:03 of those games and being able to find
1:33:05 ways to get through innings, get through
1:33:07 moments like he had on Thursday nights.
1:33:09 >> Look at the youngsters here sporting
1:33:12 with firefighters and tailgators gear.
1:33:13 Great crowds we've had in Corpus Christi
1:33:16 all three nights. Over 20,000 people
1:33:19 combined in three games here in Corpus
1:33:21 Christie, Texas. Mason Maxwell
1:33:25 will lead us off here in the top of the
1:33:26 fifth.
1:33:29 I want to point out with Mason, by the
1:33:31 way, 11 trick playouts last year in all
1:33:34 games. He's already got 30 this year and
1:33:36 we're just in our 26th contest.
1:33:39 >> He's made himself invaluable over at
1:33:41 first base for the Firefighters this
1:33:43 year. And this is your 11th round pick
1:33:45 in the draft.
1:33:48 >> Spray to center. Indiana Stanley. Book
1:33:51 it.
1:33:54 Man,
1:33:56 >> that guy is a superhuman athlete.
1:34:06 >> Tonight's firefighter tonight, Chief Jim
1:34:10 First.
1:34:16 Mr. is a 30-year veteran of the Corpus
1:34:18 Christie Fire Department, which means
1:34:21 for more than three decades, he's been
1:34:23 running toward danger when others were
1:34:26 running away. He served as a battalion
1:34:29 chief for 15 years before recently being
1:34:32 promoted to assistant chief, a testament
1:34:35 to his leadership, dedication, and
1:34:38 service to the community. Chief Deviser
1:34:42 has deployed across Texas and throughout
1:34:44 the nation during disaster response
1:34:46 efforts, bringing experience,
1:34:49 leadership, and the kind of calm
1:34:51 confidence that says, "Giddy up. We've
1:34:53 got this." He holds a bachelor's degree
1:34:56 in emergency management, an associates
1:34:59 degree in fire science, and enough fire,
1:35:02 medical, and rescue certifications to
1:35:05 make alphabet alphabet soup feel
1:35:07 underqualified.
1:35:09 Corpus Christie, give it up for
1:35:11 tonight's firefighter of the night,
1:35:13 Chief Jim Deviser.
1:35:23 I got the wonderful chance to meet Chief
1:35:26 Jim Deviser yesterday when we visited
1:35:29 fire station 7 here at the Corpus
1:35:31 Christie Fire Department where Val Perez
1:35:32 served for 10 years along with station
1:35:35 8. That man was so fired up to see
1:35:38 Valick again. his young children, Kylani
1:35:40 and Koa
1:35:43 were thrilled, were just joyful
1:35:45 yesterday meeting myself, Marshall
1:35:48 Chill, and Val Perez. Again, a salute to
1:35:50 to Jim Deviser
1:35:55 donated a Corpus Christie Fire
1:35:57 Department helmet for the team today as
1:35:59 well.
1:36:04 Might see that awarded if somebody can
1:36:06 uh can go for a big fly. Darren McDow
1:36:09 went big fly on Thursday night.
1:36:12 >> Falling two from Brett Allen.
1:36:15 >> The pistol squad trick pitch.
1:36:19 Jordan Barh behind the back. 360 book
1:36:23 it.
1:36:26 My goodness. Jordan Bar.
1:36:32 >> I mean that's just incredible. Number
1:36:34 one, the pistol squad. If you've tried
1:36:35 it at home, it's difficult. But then
1:36:37 what Jordan Bar just did, twisting,
1:36:40 turning. Oh man, behind the back. That
1:36:43 is a superstar level play.
1:36:46 >> 0 and one to DMAC.
1:36:49 >> Yeah.
1:36:52 One of my favorite people ever, Dakota
1:36:55 McFad. Hits it out to Jordan Hussein.
1:36:58 Weird hop. Very weird hop. And one that
1:37:02 quite frankly, Zach, I don't know what I
1:37:04 would score. I want to take another look
1:37:06 at the replay just to see as Noah
1:37:08 Bridges steps on in as the designated
1:37:10 runner. DMAC,
1:37:13 >> he's put a lot of banana ball in
1:37:15 contact. I the ball never touches his
1:37:17 glove,
1:37:19 so I'm tempted to say single, but that's
1:37:22 a that's a difficult one to take as Noah
1:37:24 Bridge is off. Tie throw down.
1:37:32 will officially go down in E6 how DMAC
1:37:36 reaches but a stolen base there for Noah
1:37:38 Bridges
1:37:44 Mondo is it through the five hole Noah's
1:37:47 getting away Zack coming up throwing
1:37:50 home line
1:37:52 a great back pick to first not in time
1:37:57 >> an RBI single officially for Armando
1:37:59 Veta
1:38:02 This is a big couple of days for
1:38:04 Armando's confidence at the plate.
1:38:06 >> Ooh, the Bridges brothers.
1:38:19 Stupid
1:38:23 >> boy. That's what they just did right
1:38:25 there. The Bridges brothers sing like
1:38:29 there's no tomorrow. Maybe one to rival
1:38:31 Popsico. But Armando Viser, by the way,
1:38:34 came in with a 130 average. Already a
1:38:37 couple of big knocks this weekend.
1:38:38 That'll do some wonders for his
1:38:39 confidence going forward. Boseback, by
1:38:41 the way, on that lime scooter. That's
1:38:44 funny. That's really funny.
1:38:48 >> Look at him. Record time. He made it
1:38:51 back into the ballpark as well.
1:38:57 Tyler Hughes back to the top of the
1:38:59 order.
1:39:01 >> Reached me an error last time. Huh.
1:39:04 >> Started the ball game off with a tiny
1:39:06 back.
1:39:07 >> That was funny. And they called tiny
1:39:11 again. His second AB was about five
1:39:13 inches away from getting his second
1:39:15 homer on the year.
1:39:17 >> Foul ball. Of course,
1:39:20 >> ball is really flown here in Corpus
1:39:22 Christie.
1:39:26 That first home run came all the way
1:39:27 back on opening night
1:39:29 >> for Tiner H.
1:39:33 >> On the campus of Florida State. That
1:39:36 seems like years ago at this point in
1:39:38 the Banana Ball season. Both of these
1:39:40 two teams playing game number 26.
1:39:45 Up the elevator shoot. Oh my gosh.
1:39:48 What's Donnie got for us?
1:39:50 >> Nothing. It's Jordan Bart who calls him
1:39:53 off. Book it for out number three.
1:39:57 What an inning for JB. Making two trick
1:40:01 plays in the inning.
1:40:05 >> Run still comes home to score for the
1:40:07 firefighters. Can they protect it and
1:40:09 earn point number one of the night on
1:40:11 the other side?
1:40:28 Brett, I have a question for you.
1:40:30 >> I'm sure the YouTube chat would love to
1:40:31 know as well.
1:40:32 >> Okay.
1:40:32 >> Why do y'all call him Princess JB?
1:40:34 What's the lore?
1:40:35 >> Funny story.
1:40:36 >> Yes.
1:40:36 >> Um, so Jordan Bars,
1:40:38 >> I forget if it was spring training or if
1:40:40 it was one of our first few weekends of
1:40:42 the year. Okay. there's somewhere and we
1:40:44 were at rehearsals and somebody calls
1:40:46 him Princess JB
1:40:48 >> and I kind of laugh. I go Princess JB
1:40:52 and I told him if he hits a home run I'm
1:40:53 going to call him Princess JB. So he
1:40:56 went yard in the banana ball open scall
1:40:58 the voice of our sports doing playoff
1:41:00 play but I don't get it obviously say it
1:41:02 there and then we're at Amarillo the
1:41:05 week after the open and he hits one and
1:41:08 I call him Princess JB. He goes back,
1:41:10 listens to it, tells me he absolutely
1:41:12 loved it. And I'm like, you know what?
1:41:14 It sticks. He's hit four home runs
1:41:16 since. And, you know, ripping the trick
1:41:19 plays and everything else he's doing. I
1:41:20 mean, he's Princess JB. That's it.
1:41:23 >> That's who he is now.
1:41:24 >> And that's the bottom line.
1:41:28 >> The Texas Rattlesnake reference in
1:41:31 Texas.
1:41:32 >> Good Brett Loftess. again somewhere in
1:41:34 Salem, Virginia. My father, Steve Stton,
1:41:36 would be very proud that you just pulled
1:41:38 out a Stone Cold reference. Shout out
1:41:41 Steve, man.
1:41:42 >> What
1:41:50 second inning of work from the South
1:41:53 Paul, Blake Morgan. Such a cool story. A
1:41:56 dude who didn't throw a competitive
1:41:57 pitch for seven years. Finished up his
1:42:00 last year at UNC Wilmington in 2019. And
1:42:02 how about this? Christy Hook. And now
1:42:05 he's one of the most dangerous bats in
1:42:07 the Banana Ball Championship League with
1:42:11 22 hits, five home runs, 17 RBI, and a
1:42:18 314 batting average. Returning to the
1:42:22 Lonear State from Spring, Texas, Corpus
1:42:26 Christi. Please welcome back Jose
1:42:31 Gonzalez Jr.
1:42:39 played 10 games here last year. Did Jose
1:42:42 Gonzalez Jr. as a Corpus Christi hook,
1:42:46 25 games across two levels in the Astros
1:42:49 organization. And now we are so blessed
1:42:51 to have him as a Texas tailgator.
1:42:54 Brother played in the first ever game of
1:42:56 banana ball in 2020. when they were
1:42:59 experimenting with Banana Ball. He was a
1:43:00 collegiate Savannah Banana that summer.
1:43:04 And then now as we formed the league in
1:43:05 the Banana Ball Championship League, he
1:43:07 was the 10th round pick of the Tailgator
1:43:09 in the draft back in November. And how
1:43:12 blessed are we that we get to watch him
1:43:14 play right field and swing that big
1:43:17 left-handed stick of his all summer long
1:43:19 in 2026. Doesn't have to swing it right
1:43:22 there. Five pitches, four of them balls,
1:43:24 and he's got a sprint. brother gave us a
1:43:27 hard 90
1:43:29 and now he'll stand over at first. Coach
1:43:32 Andrew Bartman feeds to McGizzy and now
1:43:35 Bart is going to feed us some words. How
1:43:38 are you my friend?
1:43:39 >> What's up boys? How we doing tonight,
1:43:41 >> man? HB's over there blessing you, huh?
1:43:44 >> Oh, buddy. We're cooking so much good
1:43:45 stuff. We've got jalapeno poppers. We
1:43:47 had budan filled jalapeno poppers. We've
1:43:49 got You can't see it. We got fruit
1:43:52 skewers. I toasted fruit with angel food
1:43:54 cake bites. The Beefy Boys might throw
1:43:57 someone on the ground right now. It's
1:43:58 pure chaos down here and I love every
1:44:00 minute of it.
1:44:01 >> M right side. Three firefighters
1:44:04 converging. Darcy.
1:44:07 >> Yeah, baby. Yeah, baby.
1:44:10 >> First and second now, not out. Uh Bart,
1:44:13 there's a graphic we just showed. If our
1:44:16 control room could put it back up, you
1:44:18 had a record day at the tailgate today.
1:44:21 Well, you know, the three game series
1:44:22 are tough and uh some were calling it
1:44:24 similar to the Jordan flu game. I mean,
1:44:26 I didn't have my legs under me. It's
1:44:28 game three. I went out and just gave the
1:44:30 effort. Man, we're a bunch of junkyard
1:44:31 dogs. Even on the grill. Junkyard dogs
1:44:33 on the grill, baby.
1:44:34 >> Bark got them one time. Bark.
1:44:38 >> Uh Corpus Christie, something you got to
1:44:40 do yesterday. One of the coolest deals I
1:44:43 think we've ever seen was you getting to
1:44:44 go to the firehouse with Al Perez.
1:44:46 >> Oh, dude. HB is such a great partner and
1:44:49 um the stuff they do not just for us as
1:44:50 an organization but uh we took Valres oh
1:44:53 yeah Taji baby. Yeah, Taji.
1:44:57 >> Yeah, we took uh we took uh a
1:44:59 refrigerated truck full of groceries to
1:45:04 the firehouse and it was awesome. And
1:45:06 then they're taking him a new grill too.
1:45:07 It's fantastic.
1:45:09 So we've had Baltimore Brett trick play
1:45:12 missed in a single bases juiced nut out
1:45:14 for Indiana Stanley who Bart he told us
1:45:17 a story the other night about how
1:45:19 Brandon Pennington our pitching coach
1:45:20 has been working with him and has gotten
1:45:22 him back going in a big way.
1:45:23 >> Yeah, dude. It's one of those things
1:45:24 like Penny's got a great relationship
1:45:26 with them and they had a like not just a
1:45:28 hitting talk but a life talk one day,
1:45:30 you know, and uh got him going, man. I
1:45:32 love it. I love it for him. I know he
1:45:33 puts a lot of pressure on himself
1:45:34 because he wants to be successful but
1:45:36 he's doing a great job this weekend.
1:45:39 The 01 in the broken bat.
1:45:43 >> Peanut goes to second for one and over
1:45:45 to first.
1:45:46 >> Are you serious? He was saved by
1:45:51 >> tailgators do get a run.
1:45:53 >> I just heard the beefy boy there. Bart.
1:45:55 Oh my gosh. I got to walk away from him.
1:45:58 >> He's got that megaphone.
1:46:00 >> 643 double play. 90 ft away now stands
1:46:04 the inning winning run.
1:46:05 >> Oh, he just got ejected.
1:46:06 >> Tailgator just got ejected. He's gone.
1:46:08 >> Are you serious?
1:46:09 >> He's ejected.
1:46:11 >> Brett, I know you've talked about
1:46:12 already, but how much fun was watching
1:46:14 these dudes work in Knoxville the other
1:46:16 weekend?
1:46:17 >> Oh, that was incredible.
1:46:18 >> Holy smokes.
1:46:19 >> That was the most fun I've ever had on
1:46:20 tour.
1:46:21 >> Unbelievable.
1:46:23 >> Unbel Come on, Jake. Let's win an
1:46:24 inning, baby.
1:46:26 >> Bart, the YouTube chat wants me to ask
1:46:28 you about the mosquitoes here in Corpus
1:46:29 Christie.
1:46:30 >> Yeah, I told my wife Nicole, love you,
1:46:31 Nicole. Uh, I told her they were birds
1:46:33 because they are legit. They're not
1:46:34 insects. They're birds here. They are
1:46:36 humongous
1:46:39 and they're all over. Now, the good news
1:46:40 is so much smoke rolling at the pregame
1:46:43 barbecue. They stayed away from me a
1:46:44 little bit because of that. That was
1:46:46 good. There's brother Gonzalez, my guy.
1:46:48 >> Man, that was so cool. That moment he
1:46:49 just had here.
1:46:50 >> Unbelievable. Love it.
1:46:53 >> High in the sky, telling towards foul
1:46:56 territory.
1:46:56 >> All right, good. Yeah, brother. Um,
1:46:59 before the draft, one of my best friends
1:47:01 in baseball, Jeff Calhoun, coached him
1:47:02 here in Corpus last year, and he sat
1:47:04 down with me at lunch. He goes, "Dude,
1:47:05 you have to take brother." A+ human. He
1:47:08 can bang. He can hit the ball hard, but
1:47:10 overall, he'd be a great fit for Banana
1:47:11 Ball again. And boy was he right.
1:47:15 >> Hard point. Jane Green. Jordan who said
1:47:18 it hard 90 and J walks off the inning.
1:47:24 >> Two
1:47:25 hits for him tonight in a three nothing
1:47:28 ball game. Mark, go talk to your
1:47:29 captain. Our captain.
1:47:31 >> Oh, he's the man, man. Thank Thank
1:47:33 y'all. Love chatting with you.
1:47:35 >> I love you more, Bart.
1:47:37 >> A commanding three to nothing lead for
1:47:40 the Texas Tailgator after five frames in
1:47:43 Corpus Christi.
1:47:55 We thank you for your service
1:47:58 to our great country.
1:48:07 This is so cool, Zach. Firefighters
1:48:10 playing here in Corpus Christie.
1:48:12 >> Getting to salute the troops and salute
1:48:14 all of those here in Corpus Christi.
1:48:17 This is one of the coolest moments about
1:48:19 every single Banana Ball game. And I
1:48:20 know we say that about quite a few
1:48:22 things, but for what this weekend means
1:48:24 for Val Perez and to have some of our
1:48:27 former comrades be firefighters of the
1:48:29 night each last night and tonight, this
1:48:31 is just even better on a weekend like
1:48:34 this to honor our first responders, our
1:48:36 troops, and everyone else who makes such
1:48:38 a great impact in our society.
1:48:40 >> It continues to go back to this idea
1:48:42 that the firefighters play for something
1:48:43 much bigger than the name on the front
1:48:45 or the back of your jersey. It means
1:48:47 that you play for people who sacrifice,
1:48:50 who represent heroism and courage and
1:48:53 honor, and being able to run into the
1:48:55 danger and not sink away from the tough
1:48:58 moments in life. To be able to tip your
1:49:00 cap to those people in the crowd,
1:49:02 especially those who do this on a daily
1:49:05 basis, it just it warms your heart.
1:49:07 Really does.
1:49:20 You see the apron? It's Bam Bam. Zack
1:49:24 Blankenship. An entertainment pitcher,
1:49:28 but a guy who's been shoving thus far
1:49:30 for the Texas Tailgator. This one goes
1:49:32 to the bag stop. Kaden Green trying to
1:49:34 steal first will steal first to begin
1:49:36 the top of the sixth.
1:49:39 The team that is tied to top the Banana
1:49:41 Ball Championship League in sto steals a
1:49:43 first base just gets themselves another
1:49:45 one. Peanut represents the leadoff
1:49:48 runner at first base and they've got to
1:49:50 find some execution at the plate right
1:49:52 now trailing by three.
1:49:56 Yet at this point, Zach
1:49:58 equalizer point still within grasp but
1:50:01 doesn't look probable. 11 to six the
1:50:02 tailgator trick play category.
1:50:06 At best you win the sixth, seventh, and
1:50:07 eighth innings and catch back up to
1:50:09 these tailgators. When in the sport of
1:50:11 banana ball, leading by three points or
1:50:13 more is a very commanding lead, which is
1:50:16 currently our score here in the top of
1:50:17 the sixth. Is Daltton Cornet will take a
1:50:20 strike. Two balls and one strike.
1:50:31 >> Two in one becomes two balls and two
1:50:33 strikes.
1:50:36 DC3's only homer of the year came
1:50:38 against these Texas Tailgators back in
1:50:40 Scottsdale, Arizona.
1:50:45 >> Second one would be massive here in this
1:50:48 contest.
1:50:53 >> All four spread
1:50:55 quickly out of net. Peanut's got good
1:50:56 speed. He could walk to third. Dalton
1:51:00 rounds big at first,
1:51:02 but the firefighters runners on the
1:51:04 corners and it's the man they call
1:51:07 showtime
1:51:09 at the dish. Logan Lacy. Again, you've
1:51:12 heard his name so much this weekend
1:51:13 because of the play he made last night,
1:51:16 dumping himself over the dugout wall to
1:51:18 get an out.
1:51:20 >> Jordan Hussein. Book it. Book it. Book.
1:51:33 That was almost the third
1:51:35 triple trick play, double play in the
1:51:37 young history of the tailgator, but
1:51:39 instead would be a fieldielder's choice.
1:51:41 A run comes home to score. Still another
1:51:43 trick play though for Jordan Hussein.
1:51:47 >> More importantly, it brings in another
1:51:48 run for the firefighters. And this is
1:51:50 just what you've got to do. Just keep
1:51:52 finding ways to produce.
1:52:01 Wow,
1:52:03 >> I lost that foul ball very quick. I
1:52:05 followed it the entire way. EJ has had
1:52:07 some bad luck with fan caught foul balls
1:52:08 this year.
1:52:13 >> Jordan B Air JB the first night in time.
1:52:19 >> Who said princesses can't fly?
1:52:25 EJ's just got to be thinking, what do I
1:52:27 got to do?
1:52:28 >> I hit it as hard as humanly possible in
1:52:30 that spot. And you just run up into a
1:52:32 guy and Jordan Bara just makes a play.
1:52:34 Bam. Bam. Cannot believe it. I can't
1:52:36 believe it. Lamar Sparks represents the
1:52:39 last potential batter of this inning.
1:52:47 >> This weekend
1:52:49 has been exceptional. Whether it's been
1:52:51 trick plays, these two teams combined to
1:52:54 break the single game trick play record
1:52:56 in the history of banana ball on
1:52:58 Thursday night when they had 33 combined
1:53:00 trick plays. But it's been plays like
1:53:02 that with Jordan Bart. It's been plays
1:53:05 like Logan Lacy. It's been plays that
1:53:08 we've seen out of Indiana Stanley.
1:53:11 An exceptional exceptional weekend.
1:53:19 Oh, ties the first.
1:53:22 >> What?
1:53:25 >> Yeah.
1:53:26 >> Taylor says, "Not even close."
1:53:29 >> Mick initiates his coach challenge.
1:53:33 >> I think he got him on the foot side.
1:53:35 >> Let's see again.
1:53:37 >> Can we Oh, we will see it again. We We
1:53:40 will, guys. I'm I'm I'm sure we will.
1:53:48 be a big out number three.
1:53:53 >> I don't know that he puts the glove on
1:53:55 the foot.
1:53:56 >> I I mean, we got to see something slower
1:53:57 than that.
1:53:58 >> Yeah, I'd like to see another angle
1:53:59 again. Billy's pretty confident. Yep,
1:54:01 this is a good one.
1:54:04 >> He doesn't get it on the ground, but in
1:54:06 the air here,
1:54:08 >> I don't think
1:54:09 >> we can't we can't tell if the glove is
1:54:10 on the front side or not when his foot's
1:54:12 on the back. that low three angle. Well,
1:54:15 umpires already have their decision.
1:54:16 >> Review the call on the field stands.
1:54:20 >> Field stands is safe.
1:54:24 >> I would have loved to seen a few
1:54:26 different music at that. I'm going to be
1:54:28 quite honest with you, Zach. I don't
1:54:29 know how the umpires came to that
1:54:30 conclusion that quickly,
1:54:32 but call stood probably the right call.
1:54:35 Anyways,
1:54:40 >> Lamar
1:54:42 hits one about 150 m an hour into the
1:54:45 ocean. That's the power of Lamar Sparks.
1:54:49 Just got to straighten it out just a
1:54:51 little bit more.
1:54:56 >> Another ball for Sprint.
1:55:02 And the firefighters will yet again in
1:55:04 this inning have runners on the corners.
1:55:07 >> That's two via the free pass there for
1:55:08 Lamar Sparks tonight. His first and
1:55:10 third ABS no longer in the stat sheet in
1:55:13 two ball sprints form is Mason Maxwell
1:55:15 who had an RBI double in the second
1:55:17 inning yesterday to get the Firefighters
1:55:19 their first run and subsequently their
1:55:20 first point can really help break things
1:55:22 open
1:55:26 and Mad Max comes up clutch.
1:55:29 >> A two out RBI single.
1:55:32 to make you two runs now in the inning
1:55:35 for the Firefox.
1:55:38 >> I mean, what can you say about what
1:55:39 Mason Maxwell has put together this
1:55:41 season coming into tonight 329 average
1:55:44 after last year batting below 250, he's
1:55:47 come in and been a wizard of trick plays
1:55:50 and has come up with some massive hits
1:55:52 for the firefighters.
1:55:56 >> Darian sends that one out of the
1:55:57 ballpark. Foul. 0 for two tonight.
1:56:09 First time tonight that the firefighters
1:56:11 have put up a crooked number in a frame.
1:56:14 How important can that be?
1:56:17 >> Pretty important when you look, they've
1:56:19 scored a run in the third and the fifth.
1:56:21 Didn't win either one of those innings.
1:56:22 In fact, they lost them via wall calls
1:56:24 for the tailgator in the home half.
1:56:26 >> Shows how important run production is in
1:56:29 this sport.
1:56:31 Give yourself plenty of wiggle room and
1:56:33 insurance.
1:56:40 >> Dare you. Tell you what, nobody hardly
1:56:43 in this league is better at fighting off
1:56:44 pitches than Mr. McDow. And he just
1:56:47 broke his bat and needs a new piece of
1:56:48 lumber.
1:56:49 >> Yeah. Gone it, man. Seen a lot of busted
1:56:51 bats this weekend.
1:56:54 Yeah,
1:56:54 >> that's what we've come to see here in
1:56:56 Banana Ball.
1:56:58 And Wood ain't cheap.
1:57:00 That's what they're telling me.
1:57:06 >> If it's a price of gas right now, we got
1:57:08 some serious issues.
1:57:10 >> Full count. Three balls, two strikes,
1:57:12 two outs, runners on the corners.
1:57:16 >> And another ball for Sprint. And Mason
1:57:18 got a great leap off of first. Could he
1:57:20 come all the way around? He's getting
1:57:22 the windmill. He is going to score with
1:57:24 ease.
1:57:26 make it four runs now in the top of the
1:57:29 sixth for the firefighters. A two-run
1:57:32 ball four sprint for Darren McDow.
1:57:35 >> What Logan Lacy was trying to do on the
1:57:37 three 0 count is what Mason Maxwell just
1:57:39 did. When it's full and two outs and
1:57:41 you're at first base, feel free to go on
1:57:44 a ball four spread. Feel free.
1:57:54 >> Yeah.
1:57:58 3001
1:58:00 >> turns into O2.
1:58:02 >> One strike.
1:58:04 >> Two strikes.
1:58:08 One ball. Hot. Two strikes. Demback said
1:58:12 he's getting some uh shirts bait going
1:58:14 through hell with a squirt gun. So,
1:58:17 we'll see when those arrive here
1:58:18 shortly. Who inspired them him to make
1:58:21 those? By the way,
1:58:22 >> I'm not going to say any names. I will.
1:58:25 Brett Loftus and Zack Stton in El Paso,
1:58:27 Texas.
1:58:27 >> 100%.
1:58:28 >> Two two from Bam.
1:58:34 >> It's almost a sweep in the railing and a
1:58:36 fan makes a great play. No, it was
1:58:38 bobble.
1:58:40 >> Again, you cannot catch it off a
1:58:42 ricochet. It's got to be a clean snag
1:58:43 right out the sky. There are no trick
1:58:45 plays with these fans.
1:58:47 >> That was a sick play though, man.
1:58:48 >> It was. It was right with the bare hand,
1:58:50 too.
1:58:50 >> That was cool. It hit off the the
1:58:52 building here and then the railing and
1:58:54 then right into his bare hand.
1:58:57 This is in play. Sunshine
1:59:01 tip drill. Buckets. Book it. 14 trick
1:59:06 plays. The 12th straight game in which
1:59:08 the tail tailgator have done that. But
1:59:10 Zack Stton a four-run inning for the
1:59:12 Firefox. And they did it in a lot of
1:59:14 ways without having to swing the bat
1:59:16 very much. Four runs. Can they get their
1:59:18 first point when we come back on the
1:59:21 other side?
1:59:28 >> I just want to be in this.
1:59:39 >> Hello YouTube chat.
1:59:42 >> Brett Loftess has gone to uh do
1:59:44 something real quick. I'll be back in a
1:59:45 >> moment. run down the pool and they are
1:59:48 going to in front of 8,000 of their
1:59:51 closest friends and family
1:59:53 >> drop a log.
1:59:55 >> The first couple to do that twice is
1:59:57 going to be the winner. And the loser,
1:59:59 well, by the way, my father with a bunch
2:00:01 of water cuz you're damn broke.
2:00:03 >> Are you ready? On your mark, get set,
2:00:06 grab that log.
2:00:09 >> Ladies and gentlemen, will it be the
2:00:11 little couple? Will it be the Rio
2:00:13 couple?
2:00:15 They are both running down to the pool.
2:00:17 They are going to drop their log in.
2:00:20 >> Funny story, by the way.
2:00:21 >> The firefighters helped get those pieces
2:00:24 of plywood
2:00:27 >> off of uh some pallets earlier. Val
2:00:30 Perez, Zachary Bridges, Logan Lacy using
2:00:33 two hammers, one of which was very tiny
2:00:36 to pry some nails in those pieces of
2:00:37 wood out the pallets as Odam is
2:00:41 complete. Brett Loftess has rejoined me
2:00:43 back in the booth. By the way, Brett, my
2:00:44 father just texted me. He said, uh, two
2:00:47 things. Number one, tell Brett to give
2:00:48 me a whole heck yeah. Can't say the
2:00:50 actual word. And I'll tell you on the
2:00:53 other side.
2:00:59 >> The moon.
2:01:02 >> Have you ever seen the moon?
2:01:05 Yeah.
2:01:07 illuminating
2:01:09 >> kind of
2:01:10 >> the beautiful sky here in Corpus
2:01:12 Christie, Texas. And now fired up on the
2:01:15 mound is the fire marshall himself,
2:01:18 Marshall Shield. He works with a
2:01:21 four-point lead is sack Watson out to
2:01:24 left. South Trimble.
2:01:28 Oh, book it.
2:01:31 That might be one of the best trick
2:01:32 plays South Trimble has ever pulled out
2:01:35 in his banana ball career. Going behind
2:01:38 the back. The magic man does a little
2:01:41 trick for us right here. One away
2:01:43 quickly for Fire Marshall.
2:01:46 >> Want to welcome in on YouTube all of
2:01:48 those who are in Orlando, Florida
2:01:49 tonight watching the coconuts and party
2:01:51 animals.
2:01:54 >> Quickly 0 and2 here for Nick Lopez.
2:01:58 Tailgators win the first, third, and
2:02:01 fifth innings. Obviously, the
2:02:03 firefighters in the driver's seat to win
2:02:04 the sixth. Lopey deep left center field.
2:02:09 South. Oh my gosh, a jumping diving grab
2:02:13 for the magic man. Did he just do this
2:02:17 again?
2:02:20 >> Nick Lopez can't believe his eyes.
2:02:23 >> But Houdini's in the house.
2:02:27 >> Unreal. Those
2:02:30 fans get a signature souvenir
2:02:34 as South Trimble gives Marshall Shield
2:02:37 some help. He couldn't believe it.
2:02:41 >> Wow.
2:02:43 >> Wow. Down to third. Kelly nine says Kyle
2:02:47 Martin did not go. One ball and no
2:02:49 strikes to the auction with two outs
2:02:52 here in the bottom of the six.
2:03:00 Already a home run on the night for Kyle
2:03:02 Martin
2:03:03 >> on a night where Brett
2:03:05 >> has predicted these dinners continue to
2:03:08 affect his home run totals.
2:03:10 >> Your clear your theory has proven even
2:03:12 more true.
2:03:13 >> Eight straight weekends Kyle Martin's
2:03:15 hit a home run eight straight weeks.
2:03:18 Kyle Martin and myself at some point
2:03:20 during the week he went to dinner. He
2:03:22 went out to dinner with me on my
2:03:23 birthday.
2:03:25 Good. By the way, I'll stay here for a
2:03:28 second.
2:03:28 >> Trick pitch. Maybe
2:03:33 >> Kmart way up in this beautiful sky in
2:03:35 Corpus Christie. Mason Maxwell trying to
2:03:38 find it. Instead, it ricochets into the
2:03:40 tailgator dugout. We might have had to
2:03:42 see a Logan Lacy play to get that one to
2:03:44 be the third out.
2:03:46 >> Kyle Martin has played against these
2:03:48 firefighters five times in the last
2:03:49 three weeks. He has a first inning home
2:03:51 run in three of those games.
2:03:58 What?
2:04:03 >> Full count now
2:04:05 >> to the man we call the auction.
2:04:09 >> Marshall Shield trying to go three up
2:04:10 and three down.
2:04:12 >> Kmart smoke down the right field line.
2:04:15 Fair. That's going to roll for a little
2:04:17 bit. Darien gets to it in the corner and
2:04:20 Kmart will slide in with a two out
2:04:22 double. Couple extra base hits now for
2:04:25 the under action tonight.
2:04:28 >> Great way to swing the stick for Kmart.
2:04:30 Not only because it's a double.
2:04:31 Firefighters outfielders were in for
2:04:33 ball force sprint defense which Kyle
2:04:35 Martin is very good at drawing. So they
2:04:38 have to run a lot more to get to the
2:04:40 corner and Kmart gets his second extra
2:04:42 base knock of the night.
2:04:46 >> Jordan Bar
2:04:48 of a couple of ground outs tonight.
2:04:53 that gets away from EJ. And Jordan Bar
2:04:57 will steal first without a throw.
2:05:01 >> Four to nothing in the inning.
2:05:04 And I know we're still a little ways
2:05:05 away from it, but a potential two out
2:05:08 rally, if you will, here in the six
2:05:10 after Jordan Bar steals first. That's
2:05:13 the first time a tailgator has done that
2:05:15 in a long time.
2:05:16 >> It took Bar about 3 to 5 seconds to
2:05:19 decide if he really wanted to. And at
2:05:21 some point you have to go cuz you're out
2:05:22 of the box.
2:05:24 >> 0 and one to Taylor Justice. I don't
2:05:27 think he was the biggest fan of that
2:05:28 call.
2:05:30 >> Taylor had a sprint in his first plate
2:05:31 appearance.
2:05:36 >> First time we've seen Marshall this
2:05:37 weekend getting a full inning of work.
2:05:42 >> The man who not does not dumber number.
2:05:44 Brother the fire emoji.
2:05:48 >> He's bigger than numbers, Brett.
2:05:53 Yep.
2:05:55 Let that sink in.
2:06:00 >> Marshall trying to get a scoreless
2:06:02 frame.
2:06:04 >> Two balls, two strikes, two outs.
2:06:10 >> Sprayed to shallow right. That'll get
2:06:11 down. JB goes first to third. Kmart
2:06:15 comes home to score in 2026. Taylor
2:06:18 Justice. I can't wait to tell
2:06:20 generations to come about him. An RBI
2:06:24 single and that will bring the inning
2:06:26 tying run to the plate in form of Jose.
2:06:32 And think about what the tailgator have
2:06:33 done in this inning. Kyle Martin right
2:06:35 down the line fair for a double in which
2:06:38 the outfielders were playing in. Steal a
2:06:41 first base and now just a shallow bloop
2:06:43 single gives the Gator an opportunity
2:06:45 here.
2:06:46 >> Brother had hit home run in a while.
2:06:49 Be cool if he did. Right here.
2:06:51 >> Okay, look at Mason.
2:06:53 >> Runs that in to make sure he actually
2:06:55 gets it to the pitcher this time. Well
2:06:56 done, Mace.
2:06:59 >> If you were just joining us earlier,
2:07:01 Jared Donaldson had a pickoff attempt
2:07:03 over at first. Mason Maxwell threw it
2:07:05 back to him. Throw got away.
2:07:10 >> Someone in the YouTube chat says, "Let's
2:07:12 go Savannah Bananas." Sure, they're
2:07:14 playing in Kansas City tonight. This is
2:07:17 the Texas Tailgator and the
2:07:18 Firefighters. Corpus Christie, Texas.
2:07:24 >> Yep. Two balls, two strikes, two outs,
2:07:27 two runners on
2:07:28 >> for the tailgate.
2:07:31 >> Former Corpus Christy Hook at the dish.
2:07:34 >> Brother runs it full.
2:07:46 Mason yet again runs out of frame and
2:07:48 back
2:07:49 >> the Marshall shield.
2:07:51 >> Taylor Justice will get a head start
2:07:53 here with a full count, two outs and a
2:07:56 cold strike three as the fire marshall
2:08:00 puts out the fire and gives the boys in
2:08:03 red and black their first point of the
2:08:04 night.
2:08:06 >> That's what Marshall Schill does. just
2:08:08 grits and grinds his way through some of
2:08:11 these abs. Tough, but no cigar there for
2:08:14 the firefighters. They get their first
2:08:16 point. They pull within two points of
2:08:18 the Gator as we go down to the race for
2:08:21 one of the coolest events in
2:08:22 entertainment, the sheet race. Great
2:08:25 time, but I got some bad news cuz you're
2:08:27 about to see the sheetiest promo of the
2:08:30 night. And that's Sheety with two E's
2:08:33 because it's time for the sheet race.
2:08:36 These four sheets are going to go racing
2:08:38 to be top sheet. Let's meet them. We've
2:08:40 got the orange sheet, the blue sheet,
2:08:43 the pink sheet, and of course, the brown
2:08:47 sheet. All righty. Let's see which sheet
2:08:50 reigns supreme. The sheet race will
2:08:52 begin in 3 2 1 go.
2:08:55 >> The bull sheet race.
2:08:57 >> All right,
2:08:58 >> a tailgator staple, a banana ball staple
2:09:01 in tailgator blue and orange is out
2:09:03 first and second. And oh my goodness,
2:09:06 >> there's a bull on the field,
2:09:08 >> ladies and gentlemen.
2:09:10 >> Who's that bull going for? Oh, orange is
2:09:12 down. Blue is tackled. Here comes Brown.
2:09:15 Here comes the bull. Pink on her horse.
2:09:19 Oh my gosh. Orange by himself. Wins in a
2:09:24 landslide.
2:09:28 Those are tackles Split could only dream
2:09:30 of on small children.
2:09:35 Wow.
2:09:37 >> Who's in that suit?
2:09:38 >> I don't even want to know.
2:09:41 >> What I do know is my friend who is 6'7
2:09:44 and Dol number 99 is on the bump now for
2:09:47 the boys in blue and orange. Jimmy Lewis
2:09:49 III.
2:09:51 And we have a standoff pitch to begin
2:09:54 the seventh inning.
2:10:10 The crack of the whip.
2:10:12 A ball to Armando Betta.
2:10:16 Armando Tyler Hughes and Kaden Green.
2:10:18 10-1 and two in the seventh for the
2:10:20 firefighters.
2:10:22 It should be Tanner Hughes, but Val
2:10:25 Perez has grabbed the helmet and she
2:10:27 stands on deck here for the Firefox.
2:10:31 >> Two and one.
2:10:40 >> Jimmy Lewis, the pride of Lake Travis,
2:10:42 Texas.
2:10:44 >> Big time inning for him
2:10:46 >> to try to stop the momentum for the
2:10:48 firefighters after they just won their
2:10:49 first point of the night.
2:10:51 Good pitch there to run it full.
2:10:59 >> The ball for Brent. Mondo. Great speed.
2:11:02 He's taking that big round at first.
2:11:04 Mondo slams on the brakes and he will
2:11:07 stand aboard as just like last night.
2:11:10 The Corpus Christie native Val Perez is
2:11:12 going to come up to the dish.
2:11:27 Ladies and gentlemen, now batting the
2:11:31 firefighter head coach, a member of the
2:11:35 USA Women's National Team, the Women's
2:11:38 Professional Baseball League, and a
2:11:41 firefighter from right here in Corus
2:11:45 Christie. Please welcome Val,
2:12:01 >> a member of the US women's national
2:12:04 baseball team, a standout softball star
2:12:07 at Texas A&M Corpus Christi,
2:12:10 a 10-year firefighter in the Corpus
2:12:12 Christi Fire Department, comes back home
2:12:16 and takes her second trip to the batters
2:12:19 box. Last night flew out to Indie
2:12:20 Stanley on a trick play, but now an
2:12:25 opportunity to reach base for the first
2:12:28 time.
2:12:30 We wait three balls and a strike.
2:12:38 >> Ball four sprint. Mondo got a late
2:12:40 start. Oh, the ball gets away from
2:12:42 Jordan Hussein. It's going to be a weird
2:12:44 ball for sprint defense. Val's trying to
2:12:46 go two. She will do so. A two base ball
2:12:49 four RBI spread for Val Perez back in
2:12:52 her hometown of Corpus Christi.
2:12:56 Absolutely incredible moment. Not only
2:12:59 is Val productive for her team, but it's
2:13:02 a twobase ball force sprint.
2:13:06 That is her first offensive stat of 2026
2:13:11 and it comes right back here in her
2:13:12 hometown. Unbelievable moments.
2:13:17 >> Kaden Green takes another one that
2:13:18 misses up.
2:13:20 >> The ball four sprints are the reason
2:13:22 that the firefighters have this
2:13:24 momentum.
2:13:27 Three of them in the sixth already. Two
2:13:29 of them here in the seventh. Jimmy Lewis
2:13:31 finally gets back in the zone. Two and
2:13:33 one.
2:13:35 A rapacious approach
2:13:38 from these firefighters led by their
2:13:40 skipper Val Perez who just got one of
2:13:42 her very own. Tiner is back out running
2:13:44 at second. Two balls and two strikes.
2:13:53 >> Now we're one more pitch away from her
2:13:55 third straight sprint which would bring
2:13:57 in back-to back runs
2:14:00 for the Firefighters.
2:14:03 Chopper Jordan Bar
2:14:06 oldfashioned five to3 put out as Tiner
2:14:09 awfully aggressive
2:14:12 gained another 90 ft
2:14:16 >> and Jordan Bar and Tiner nearly meeting
2:14:19 in the middle there. Yeah,
2:14:21 >> look at this. Just inches away from each
2:14:23 other. It's a heck of a play from Jordan
2:14:25 Bar. Didn't go for the trick play.
2:14:27 >> Ball hits Tiner.
2:14:30 >> He's going to be out. So that's a very
2:14:32 very good but aggressive base running
2:14:35 decision there from Tiner infield in one
2:14:38 out 01 to DC3 poked through the right
2:14:41 side and the firefighters have found
2:14:43 their scoring in the back half of this
2:14:45 ball game. Another ribbing for DC3
2:14:48 making two runs now in the top of the
2:14:50 seventh
2:14:52 >> and it's six runs between the sixth and
2:14:55 seventh inning combined and there's only
2:14:57 one away here in this frame.
2:15:01 One ball, no strikes to Logan Lacy.
2:15:12 You know, I know these guys have been
2:15:13 giving up a lot of sprints here in the
2:15:14 Tailgators, but it's not helping when
2:15:16 you have calls like that. Logan deep
2:15:20 right field. Brother on his horse. Indie
2:15:23 calls him off. They collide and the ball
2:15:26 drops. It gets way away from Indie. DC3
2:15:30 on his horse. No relay throw and an RBI
2:15:33 double from Logan Lacy.
2:15:37 What did I tell you in the beginning of
2:15:39 this contest in our keys to success?
2:15:41 Stick to protocol and the firefighters
2:15:45 have done it now and all of a sudden the
2:15:48 offense is moving.
2:15:53 Joe Spiron now in this ball game to
2:15:55 pitch
2:15:56 >> for the tailgator after Jimmy Lewis can
2:15:58 only record one out.
2:16:02 And I mean no disrespect to the
2:16:04 firefighters when I say this because
2:16:05 they are capitalizing with a patient
2:16:07 approach right now. But the tailgator
2:16:10 with the mistakes here in the last few
2:16:11 innings
2:16:13 not helping out the calls for the boys
2:16:14 in blue and orange. 0 and one Eric Jones
2:16:17 Jr.
2:16:18 Both teams have done it to themselves at
2:16:20 some points tonight. Mason Maxwell, the
2:16:22 throwback, the pitcher
2:16:24 going under Jared Donaldson that really
2:16:27 moved forward and got a point for the
2:16:29 Texas Tailgator. They capitalized on it.
2:16:31 Now the Firefighters turn about fair
2:16:32 play.
2:16:34 Taking off for third hit and run. Taj
2:16:36 throws it into left field.
2:16:40 Backto back innings. The firefighters
2:16:42 have scored four runs and Taj Oh no. Taj
2:16:47 immediately grabbing his right arm. Oh
2:16:50 no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no.
2:16:55 Oh no. Oh no.
2:17:19 Taj Porter's on his feet.
2:17:23 >> Athletic trainer Brian Chopore is on the
2:17:25 field.
2:17:29 >> And Taj is having a conversation with
2:17:31 the home plate umpire. Joe Mik is also
2:17:34 having a conversation with the home
2:17:36 plate umpire Eric Bum. Taj now seems
2:17:39 back heated about something. Max also
2:17:41 heated about something. If we could now
2:17:43 knowing that Taj is okay. If we could
2:17:46 take a look at that replay cuz Taj is
2:17:48 clearly I rateate about something.
2:17:54 >> Let's see what happened here.
2:17:57 >> Oh yeah, there it is.
2:18:00 Taj his armor's hand looked like his
2:18:03 hand and his elbow hit the bat of Eric
2:18:06 Jones Jr. And they're trying to call
2:18:08 batters interference.
2:18:10 That's why the throw from Taj went into
2:18:12 left field. One of the most accurate and
2:18:14 powerful arms in Banana Ball is not
2:18:16 going to throw one in left field. Mick's
2:18:18 eye rate. Taj's eye rate. Taj has a
2:18:22 case.
2:18:26 >> And if we could just show this replay a
2:18:28 little slower this time.
2:18:32 >> And you see EJ's about out of the box.
2:18:35 And right where the contact, you see it
2:18:37 there, Taj's elbow and the handle of
2:18:39 EJ's back. Great replay by replay
2:18:41 operator Aurora Huddle. That's exactly
2:18:44 why Taj is mad. Taj has a gripe to be
2:18:46 upset right there.
2:18:50 >> Lamar Sparks now at the dish.
2:18:58 >> They will call Eric Jones Jr. out, but
2:19:01 that doesn't keep the run from scoring.
2:19:03 Lamar Sparks,
2:19:06 welcome back to the Lone Star State
2:19:08 Lamar.
2:19:13 Big Star Lamar, his sixth homer of the
2:19:17 year. And we're about to see one of the
2:19:21 most beautiful moments in firefighter
2:19:24 history.
2:19:34 That is his little sister, Jensy.
2:19:38 And she's about to give Lamar the ride
2:19:41 back home, recreating a moment from
2:19:44 their childhood.
2:20:04 What a incredible moment. And here's
2:20:07 what they just created, recreated. Zack
2:20:09 Stton. Lamar told me this on the bus
2:20:12 ride over on the first morning. That is
2:20:14 his younger sister and him
2:20:17 just a few short years ago.
2:20:20 And now they get to recreate that moment
2:20:22 together. I've got tears in my eyes,
2:20:23 man. That don't make you feel something.
2:20:25 Your something feelers all the way
2:20:27 broken.
2:20:29 That's it. Cool stuff, man. I told y'all
2:20:31 last night if you were with us, I don't
2:20:33 root for too many other guys that hit
2:20:35 home runs, not wearing blue and orange.
2:20:37 I really wanted Lamar Sparks to go yard
2:20:40 this weekend. It's one of the best
2:20:42 banana ball moments of the year. One of
2:20:44 the best banana ball moments you'll ever
2:20:45 see. It's what makes our sport so so
2:20:49 special.
2:20:50 Bigger than the wins and losses, but
2:20:52 that's a huge win for everybody. That
2:20:54 was here in Corpus Christie. Mason to
2:20:57 center.
2:20:58 Indie
2:21:01 out number three.
2:21:03 A fiveun top of the seventh, including
2:21:07 one of the coolest moments you will ever
2:21:10 see in between the lines of any athletic
2:21:12 field as Lamar Sparks goes yard and then
2:21:16 rides the bases with his little sister.
2:21:18 Three to one tailgator lead it.
2:21:20 Firefighters get point number two on the
2:21:22 other side.
2:21:28 I just want to be
2:21:53 stacked
2:21:59 How cool was that?
2:22:00 >> On the mound.
2:22:01 >> Number 25, Javon Ray.
2:22:05 Second
2:22:06 >> year.
2:22:16 Number
2:22:31 11, Mac Dford.
2:23:01 Javon Ray the new right-handed arm in
2:23:03 the ball game now for the firefighters
2:23:05 facing Matt Danford lead off the bottom
2:23:08 of the seventh. Firefighters. Another
2:23:10 big inning. Five to nothing. They lead
2:23:14 this inning. Trying to make it three to
2:23:15 two in the ball game. Such a beautiful
2:23:17 moment. Maybe the most beautiful moment
2:23:20 you will ever see in between the lines
2:23:21 of any athletic field. Val Perez getting
2:23:24 an RBI ball for a sprint at her
2:23:26 hometown. And then that from Lamar
2:23:28 Sparks. And this from Peanut and Mad
2:23:31 Max. Book it. Book it. Double digit
2:23:34 trick plays. Excuse me. The night trick
2:23:36 play I should say for the firefighters
2:23:37 tonight. I mean, that was as last second
2:23:41 as you could get from Mason Maxwell at
2:23:42 first base. Peanut maybe a touch of
2:23:45 trouble there going between the legs,
2:23:47 but that was unbelievable. And Brett,
2:23:48 that might be the best inning.
2:23:51 >> A firefighter pull. Logan Lacy
2:23:54 on a rope. Showtime. Flashes the
2:23:58 leather.
2:24:01 >> Trying to get a quick inning now from
2:24:02 Javon. Indiana Stanley in the dish.
2:24:07 Javon quickly a strike
2:24:15 >> hit up the middle. Peanut behind the bag
2:24:18 to first. Oh, Indie quickly going to
2:24:21 second. A great job by EJ to back that
2:24:24 up.
2:24:26 That's a hustle play from a veteran
2:24:28 banana baller.
2:24:31 >> Man, we could had an alltime MPI inning.
2:24:34 And in a ball game where you're at 15
2:24:36 minutes in the bottom of the seventh, I
2:24:38 would never discourage a player from
2:24:39 doing a trick play. Maybe that's not the
2:24:41 time you want to go to it.
2:24:43 >> Jordan Hussein deep left field.
2:24:47 South triple misses it.
2:24:51 >> And that'll play the run for the
2:24:52 Tailgator, making it five to one in the
2:24:55 inning.
2:24:57 >> Brett, this is about the closest the
2:24:59 firefighters have been in the trick play
2:25:00 column this late into a game this
2:25:03 weekend. I think you can sense they're
2:25:05 feeling like they have a shot to get
2:25:07 that equalizer point with the way their
2:25:09 offense is moving.
2:25:11 >> I mean, they do, Zack, but you still
2:25:12 want to push the ball game to nine
2:25:14 innings.
2:25:17 >> Jordan Hussein will not advance up 90
2:25:19 ft. It's such the duality of our sport
2:25:22 where you both want to be able to make
2:25:23 it to the night, but also at the same
2:25:26 time,
2:25:28 you also want to win the equalizer point
2:25:30 if you're the firefighters.
2:25:32 the delicacy of both. You understand the
2:25:35 aggressiveness from both South Treble
2:25:37 and Mason Maxwell, but you both have to
2:25:39 just get the out when the top of the
2:25:41 lineup looms here for the Texas
2:25:43 tailgate.
2:25:44 >> And it should go pointed to those run
2:25:46 that run is not going earned against
2:25:48 Javon Ray because it came a missed trick
2:25:51 play.
2:25:53 >> Wadi fighting them off.
2:25:56 >> Full count.
2:25:57 >> Three balls, two strikes, two outs.
2:25:59 Jordan Hussein at second.
2:26:05 And a ball for sprint.
2:26:10 >> Guadi stays at first. Five to two now
2:26:12 this frame.
2:26:13 >> Wadi gets his second RBI ball for sprint
2:26:16 of the night.
2:26:18 >> And Nick Lopez who's been hotter than
2:26:20 hot comes to the dishes.
2:26:23 >> The inning tying run would be in the
2:26:24 hole in form of Jordan Bar here.
2:26:28 Javon's been one of the best middle
2:26:29 relievers in this sport.
2:26:32 >> Pitching in a setup role tonight in the
2:26:34 seventh inning.
2:26:36 >> This should do it. Peanut between the
2:26:38 legs to first. That'll end it. That will
2:26:41 make it the 10th trick play of the
2:26:43 night. And that will give the
2:26:44 firefighters their second point. Still
2:26:46 trailing three-2 at the conclusion of
2:26:49 seven.
2:26:50 >> Boy, how big are the bats now becoming
2:26:53 for the firefighters?
2:26:55 Nine runs in the last two innings.
2:26:59 >> Matthew Fletcher, the new left-handed
2:27:01 pitcher on the bump from Lel College.
2:27:04 Going quickly here because we have to.
2:27:07 12 and 1/2 minutes remaining on the
2:27:09 clock again. Bananal has played on a
2:27:11 2-hour time limit. See Fletch coming in.
2:27:15 It was an inseason signing for the Texas
2:27:18 Tailgator. Five strikeouts this year.
2:27:21 Six and two/3 innings pitched. He has
2:27:24 kind of been, and I mean no pun intended
2:27:26 here, he's been the guy that comes out
2:27:29 and either fights the fire that the
2:27:30 tailgator's already in the middle of or
2:27:32 tries to come in and put it out. He has
2:27:34 been the Swiss Army knife in this bull
2:27:36 pit. He's been Mr. Do it all. He's
2:27:38 either had to rain the storm or he's
2:27:40 been asked to come on in some big
2:27:41 situations. Here is the ladder. Three
2:27:44 to2 ball game trying to work quickly.
2:27:47 Here comes Fletch still with a three to2
2:27:49 lead for the Tailgator as he starts
2:27:51 Darren McDow out with a strike 0 and
2:27:53 one.
2:27:58 >> Ball four sprints have been the biggest
2:28:00 thing that have been plaguing these
2:28:01 tailgators the last couple of frames
2:28:05 right here. A lead off base hit for Dar.
2:28:08 Indy runs it down. Keeps it in front of
2:28:10 him.
2:28:13 >> Yeah, Daren McDow. You can just see the
2:28:15 the talent he's got with the bat in his
2:28:18 hands there. He's not trying to do too
2:28:20 much. Just get contact, get on base,
2:28:22 keep the fire going.
2:28:25 >> That is correct. Mr. Do It All, Danny Do
2:28:28 It All does play for this fan of
2:28:29 Bananas. Noted in the YouTube chat, but
2:28:32 Matthew Fletcher has done it all when it
2:28:34 comes to bullpin relieving jobs this
2:28:36 year for the Texas Tailgators.
2:28:39 >> Won't get to call the airball in a
2:28:41 strike.
2:28:47 Same pitch, different result. Ball and
2:28:49 two.
2:28:52 >> Noah Bridges is running over at first.
2:28:54 The designated runner tonight for the
2:28:55 Firefox.
2:29:10 And let's not lose the plot here, Zach.
2:29:12 Trick play battle is 14- 10.
2:29:16 Pretty important that the tailgators
2:29:18 play a little offense by getting trick
2:29:21 plays of their own. Wild pitch. Dags
2:29:23 trying to steal first. Taj.
2:29:27 >> Oh, that was a ball for a sprint.
2:29:32 >> No, it wasn't.
2:29:34 Wow, that was that was ball three. Yeah,
2:29:37 DMAC stole first. I thought it was ball
2:29:39 four. Sprint. Too short. He might have
2:29:42 would have had an opportunity at first
2:29:44 getting DMAC who does successfully steal
2:29:47 first base.
2:29:50 Zack Phillips now running over there in
2:29:52 place of DMAC as Armando Betta hits. No
2:29:55 outs.
2:29:57 Corner infielders in. Runners on the
2:29:58 corners for the firefighters.
2:30:01 up the middle. Sunshine between legs.
2:30:04 Jordan Hussein throw to first. Book it.
2:30:07 463 double play as the tailgator trade a
2:30:10 couple outs for a run.
2:30:14 >> And if you're the firefighters, I think
2:30:15 you make that trade, too. Yes, the trick
2:30:17 play is important because it's now five.
2:30:20 The separator in that column.
2:30:23 Out to Indie.
2:30:26 Tip drill to himself. Book it. 16 trick
2:30:30 plays in this ball game. How important
2:30:32 is that one right there from Indiana
2:30:35 Stanley. Now we're going to have to see
2:30:38 three double trick plays in the home
2:30:41 half for the firefighters to even tie
2:30:43 it. The equalizer point is all but out
2:30:46 the window. However,
2:30:49 while that may be the case, Javon Ray
2:30:52 working with a one to nothing lead in
2:30:53 this inning can still send us to the
2:30:55 home, send us to the ninth with a tie
2:30:58 ball game at three apiece. He has to
2:31:00 face the hardest part of the tailgator
2:31:02 lineup though, Zach. Kyle Martin, Jordan
2:31:04 Bart, and Taylor Justice.
2:31:07 >> This is the battle you sign up for in a
2:31:09 game like this.
2:31:20 ladies and gentlemen
2:31:22 join us in singing as loud as you can a
2:31:25 little friends in low places.
2:31:32 Friends in low places
2:31:34 with my good friend Garrett
2:31:36 >> Lampind.
2:31:51 >> We're doing friends in low places
2:31:54 >> as the banana ball is going to continue
2:31:55 to be active in what is a big time
2:31:58 moment in this ball game in the bottom
2:31:59 of the eighth. Tailgators need one to
2:32:02 push and two to win the inning. And
2:32:04 again, it's Kyle Martin, Jordan Bar, and
2:32:06 Taylor Justice. Let friends in low
2:32:08 places serenade you as Zach and I try to
2:32:11 do the same. Kyle Martin hard hit out to
2:32:14 center. Lead off single.
2:32:17 The ocean now three for four tonight and
2:32:20 is a triple shy of the cycle.
2:32:25 Grump bouncing around.
2:32:28 Kmart now represents the inning tying
2:32:31 run aboarded first. Jordan Bart at the
2:32:33 dish. A home run would win the inning.
2:32:36 JB has not hit one of those this
2:32:37 weekend. A ball and no strikes. You see
2:32:39 the clock. Not that big of a worry, but
2:32:43 still a worry.
2:32:45 >> Chopper Logan Lacy to second for one
2:32:48 over to first. Got him. 543
2:32:51 and a big time twin killing for the
2:32:53 firefighters. Logan Lacy turning it
2:32:56 quick. Tiner Hughes even quicker at
2:32:59 second base. Just as soon as Kmart gets
2:33:02 on, the firefighters defense gets him
2:33:04 right back out with the double play.
2:33:08 And now a breath of fresh air can be
2:33:10 taken for both sides. Two outs in the
2:33:13 inning. 6 and 12 minutes. Just a hair
2:33:15 under on the clock.
2:33:17 >> Fans, could they help us out?
2:33:20 >> Mason Maxwell
2:33:22 gave it some chase, but it hit off the
2:33:24 net.
2:33:27 Ball and a strike to Taylor Justice who
2:33:29 had a big time yaya last night.
2:33:35 >> Jose Gonzalez would be up next in the
2:33:37 inning. Javon Ray has already earned one
2:33:40 point tonight in the seventh.
2:33:42 >> Tailgator trying to win their third
2:33:44 straight inning.
2:33:49 >> Humongous
2:33:51 after they got down three to nothing.
2:33:54 This is what we said they had to do. Win
2:33:56 the sixth, seventh, and eighth and send
2:33:57 us tied to the ninth. And they've almost
2:33:59 done just that. However, ball four
2:34:02 sprint will put the inning tying run yet
2:34:04 again aboard. This time in form of
2:34:06 Taylor Justice.
2:34:09 >> Firefighters have not really struggled
2:34:11 with the ball four sprints this game.
2:34:12 That looks like just their fourth issue
2:34:15 of the free pass. But now brother with
2:34:18 the stick in his hands and a runner on.
2:34:22 Jacob Pippers takes off. EJ can't get
2:34:25 the ball out of the net. And Pep, who's
2:34:28 fourth in banana ball now with 12 stolen
2:34:30 bases on the year, has only been called
2:34:32 stealing once.
2:34:43 >> Chopper foul. In all reality of things,
2:34:47 Javon really nich just just needs to be
2:34:50 worried about Jose Gonzalez here. Jacob
2:34:53 Pipperick incredible base stealer
2:34:57 as they'll try to backpick the second.
2:34:59 Oh my gosh, EJ, I love you, but that's
2:35:02 an aggressive move.
2:35:03 >> Kaitton just saved the inning right
2:35:05 there.
2:35:12 Javon Ray just tied this ball game up at
2:35:16 three apiece.
2:35:18 >> He's a doll. And the firefighters have
2:35:22 come all the way back from being down
2:35:24 three to nothing.
2:35:29 >> My goodness, the middle children rivalry
2:35:32 of this sport.
2:35:34 >> It don't get much better than this. The
2:35:36 final ending up next.
2:35:53 are as dangerous as ever. But if your
2:35:56 Texas tailgator can get three outs
2:35:58 before they score a run, they'll need
2:36:00 just one to win it in the bottom of the
2:36:02 ninth. But Corpus Christie, the stakes
2:36:05 have never been higher. Welcome to the
2:36:08 final in
2:36:18 Corpus Christi, Texas.
2:36:21 Coming in to close for the Texas
2:36:25 Tailgator.
2:36:27 He has the most saves in the Banana Ball
2:36:31 Championship League from Update, Texas.
2:36:36 Number 22,
2:36:38 Ree Neil.
2:37:03 this simple truth. You can't find
2:37:09 that.
2:37:17 >> It's Miller time.
2:37:21 The man who leads banana ball in saves.
2:37:25 got number nine last night. Reese
2:37:29 Miller,
2:37:30 he has a win and a save already this
2:37:34 weekend. He calls Houston, Texas home.
2:37:38 And now with an opportunity just like he
2:37:41 did on Thursday night, not to earn the
2:37:44 save, but potentially the win here this
2:37:47 evening.
2:37:49 It's the firefighters. It's the
2:37:51 tailgator. The Tailgators winning the
2:37:53 first, the third, and the fifth innings.
2:37:55 The Firefighters Zack winning the last
2:37:57 three.
2:37:58 >> And up to bat here is two, three, and
2:38:01 four. Kaden Green, Dalton Cornet, and
2:38:05 Logan Lacy.
2:38:07 >> This is as good as it gets. You don't
2:38:09 even need a golden batter here if you're
2:38:11 Val Perez. The three best hitters in
2:38:14 your lineup
2:38:15 going up against one of the best closers
2:38:17 in the sport.
2:38:19 >> 0 and one.
2:38:29 This matchup has yet again lived up to
2:38:31 the hype. What's at stake here? The
2:38:33 tailgator are looking for their first
2:38:35 ever three-game series sweep.
2:38:37 Firefighters trying to put an end to
2:38:39 their fivegame losing streak. The 0 and2
2:38:42 to Peanut.
2:38:43 Got it.
2:38:46 >> The fast ball from Mr. Miller and out
2:38:49 number one.
2:38:51 And you see that second pitch got to
2:38:53 Peanut. That slider was incredible.
2:38:57 Maybe expecting it again. He goes down
2:39:00 swinging as Reese Miller quickly gets to
2:39:02 Dalton Cornet. DC3 grounded out into a
2:39:06 double play to end the ball game last
2:39:07 night. He'll get started out with that
2:39:09 big old Frisbee of a slider. 0 and one
2:39:18 hit right side this night
2:39:21 it makes it through the go ahead run/p
2:39:24 point in the ninth inning where those
2:39:27 are the same stands aboard it first and
2:39:30 it's the man who made the play of the
2:39:32 year last night and so far tonight had
2:39:35 an RBI double on his line show Logan
2:39:38 Lacy
2:39:40 and Now running at first, Noah Bridges,
2:39:43 the designated runner for the
2:39:44 firefighters.
2:39:47 Left side and through. Moves the line
2:39:49 here for the firefighters. Backto back
2:39:52 one out singles.
2:39:55 This is what you got to do in the ninth
2:39:56 inning. Just string them together. Put
2:39:58 pressure on as Eric Jones Jr., the
2:40:01 all-time leader in home runs for the
2:40:03 Savannah Bananas, has a shot to create
2:40:06 some magic in his first season with the
2:40:08 Firefighters. He's 0 for his last nine
2:40:12 between last night and tonight.
2:40:15 But as Zach just mentioned it, he's put
2:40:17 more long balls over the fence than any
2:40:20 more than anybody that ever suited up in
2:40:22 yellow. Now he's a firefighter trying to
2:40:25 ride his own history with the black and
2:40:28 red. Right now he's behind 0 and2
2:40:31 against the third round pick of the
2:40:33 Texas Tailgator in the first ever banana
2:40:36 ball player draft.
2:40:42 Got him.
2:40:44 >> There's that slider again and Reese
2:40:48 oozing confidence as he gets his second
2:40:51 strike out in the frame.
2:40:53 Disgusting. And a great job by Taj to
2:40:56 keep it in front of him. However, it's
2:40:58 the man who went yard his last time up
2:41:00 at the dish. Lamar Sparks.
2:41:07 You couldn't script this any better if
2:41:09 you try.
2:41:10 >> After a moment he had with his little
2:41:12 sister after he hit that solo shot in
2:41:14 the seventh inning. Now coming up here
2:41:17 in the ninth with an opportunity to give
2:41:19 the firefighters the lead.
2:41:24 A couple of Texans and rookies here in
2:41:28 this great sport of banana ball facing
2:41:30 off against each other.
2:41:34 The O2 from Ree
2:41:37 >> down the first baseline. Hits off the
2:41:38 bag. Taylor Justice bareheaded it and he
2:41:42 just saved the game
2:41:46 as he throws the banana off the roof.
2:41:49 That's my first baseman.
2:41:54 >> And that's bananatable ball.
2:42:00 defense.
2:42:02 >> We'll look to have our second walk off
2:42:04 on the weekend.
2:42:06 >> This is banana ball.
2:42:23 It all comes down to this.
2:42:45 Broke my heart
2:42:55 just on my
2:43:08 sing
2:43:10 it to the sea.
2:43:16 on your life, but it's just
2:43:22 destiny.
2:44:06 We're happy
2:44:13 Javon Ray
2:44:15 >> is going to look to send this ball game
2:44:19 to showdowns,
2:44:21 but there's a man in a gold hood ready
2:44:23 to appear from the tailgator dugout.
2:44:26 >> The Texas Tailgator are invoking the
2:44:29 golden batter rule. Now batting in place
2:44:33 of Mag Danford is the Tailgator Golden
2:44:36 Batter. Please welcome Kyle Kmart Marte
2:44:45 for an unprecedented 14th time this
2:44:47 year. The man who has 12 home runs in
2:44:51 the Banana Ball Championship League is
2:44:54 going to lead off the bottom of the
2:44:56 ninth as the Golden Bat.
2:45:01 He hit his 12th home run back in the
2:45:04 first and walked off the first one here
2:45:07 with walk off the ball game.
2:45:12 >> He is hitting in place of Mac which is
2:45:14 the seven hole. Tires border and Indiana
2:45:17 Stanley do up next. High chopper Mason
2:45:20 Maxwell
2:45:23 filled it. Go between the legs.
2:45:27 >> That's out number one. And a trick play.
2:45:29 Book it. I was watching the home plate
2:45:31 umpire who tripped coming from behind
2:45:34 home plate. I didn't know if that one
2:45:36 had hit home on plate or not, but ruled
2:45:38 out number one nonetheless. Now it's the
2:45:40 biggest, the largest, the quad father.
2:45:44 >> Brett, let's not forget Thursday night
2:45:47 against Javon Ray. Taj Porter hit one to
2:45:50 deep right for his only homer of the
2:45:51 weekend.
2:45:54 >> Missed extra bases by about two feet
2:45:56 right there. Also worthy to note with
2:45:58 Jacob Pipper being used in the eighth.
2:46:01 The designated runner cannot be used
2:46:02 until we reach Zack Watson again at the
2:46:04 top of the order. Taj is sitting here in
2:46:07 the eighth hole. Indiana Stanley and
2:46:09 Jordan Hussein
2:46:11 do up next if we can make it to Jordan.
2:46:14 Hadn't seen showdowns in a while between
2:46:16 these two teams. All the way back in
2:46:18 Scottdale,
2:46:20 >> excuse me. All the way back in
2:46:22 >> Salem.
2:46:22 >> Salem, Virginia last year. Almost went
2:46:25 to Scott showdowns game one in Scottdale
2:46:27 did not
2:46:32 got him. Javon Ray fired up as he's one
2:46:37 out away from us getting Freeman out of
2:46:39 them all.
2:46:40 >> That's his 20th strikeouts of the year.
2:46:44 Javon Ray might be one of the most
2:46:46 improved pitchers in the sports in 2026.
2:46:51 But here we have a man we know we can go
2:46:53 yard. He did so in the ninth inning on
2:46:56 Thursday. Indiana Stanley. A game tying
2:47:01 home run
2:47:03 off of Johnny Hmel.
2:47:06 He's got a ball and a strike on
2:47:16 the captain is on deck. Jordan Hussein
2:47:21 and the tailgators are throwing out
2:47:22 their yards. Randy
2:47:28 >> out to Peanut. Gather is up and we are
2:47:32 going to showdowns in Corpus Christi.
2:47:40 It is the best
2:47:43 extra ball roll in all of sports.
2:47:46 Showdowns right here in Corpus Christi,
2:47:50 Texas as Javon Ray his first ninth
2:47:54 inning this year. And he goes golden
2:47:57 batter out, strike out, ground out.
2:48:00 Javon Ray big time. And now the most
2:48:04 exciting moment in Banana Ball
2:48:10 >> to begin round one. If you don't know
2:48:11 showdowns, it'll be a pitcher and a
2:48:14 defender versus a hitter. Round two,
2:48:17 remove that defender. It's just the
2:48:19 pitcher versus the hitter. And then
2:48:21 round three and beyond, it will be a
2:48:23 defender and a pitcher against the
2:48:25 hitter, but with the bases loaded. And
2:48:28 as you see down there on that footnote,
2:48:29 if any home run is hit by either team at
2:48:32 any time, again, the home run that
2:48:34 leaves the yard, the ball game ends
2:48:36 automatically. That is the only way that
2:48:38 the Firefighters is the away team can
2:48:40 walk this one off. And Daltton Cornette
2:48:42 did so in the Banana Ball playoffs a
2:48:45 season ago. Here in round one of
2:48:47 showdowns, it's Reese Miller back out on
2:48:50 the B. It's Jordan Hussein as the
2:48:52 defender here for the Texas Tailgator.
2:48:55 And it'll be the man that they call
2:48:58 showtime. A historic weekend for him
2:49:01 already. Logan Lacy for the firefighters
2:49:05 will be the first man to face Reese
2:49:08 Miller. He already has. He did so in the
2:49:10 ninth inning where he got a single off
2:49:13 of show off of Reese Miller and he put
2:49:16 it through a gap where if there's no
2:49:18 fielder there, it's rolling all the way
2:49:19 to the track and you can run home. He's
2:49:22 got confidence and he's already seen it
2:49:25 go the right way.
2:49:30 Three to3 ball game. Tailgator won the
2:49:33 first, third, and fifth innings. The
2:49:36 firefighters won the sixth, seventh, and
2:49:38 eighth. Neither team scored in the
2:49:40 ninth.
2:49:44 No balls and a strike.
2:49:57 Showtime in the sky out to center.
2:50:01 Jordan Hussein on his horse
2:50:04 lands halfway to the fence. Fiverr picks
2:50:07 it up. Relay in over Reese Miller's
2:50:09 head. Taj keeps it in front of him and
2:50:12 applies the tag. Reese Miller with a
2:50:15 shut out shutdown and the Lone Star
2:50:18 State.
2:50:29 And now it goes to the other side.
2:50:33 The first time in 11 months these two
2:50:35 teams have met in showdowns. And it's a
2:50:37 much different face than we were used to
2:50:40 seeing last year as it's Javon Ray, the
2:50:43 man who has earned all three points
2:50:48 tonight for the firefighters. Noah
2:50:51 Bridges will be his defender and it'll
2:50:53 be Nick Lopez, the first man to swing
2:50:56 the stick for the Tailgator and
2:50:58 Showdowns. Can I take you back to the
2:51:00 Banana Ball Open, the championship game?
2:51:03 It was that man, Nick Lopez, who gave
2:51:06 the Tailgator
2:51:08 a playoff spot in October with a
2:51:10 walk-off of the Savannah Bananas in
2:51:13 Showdowns.
2:51:16 A bunch of junkyard dogs. Lopey not
2:51:20 coloring that mustache, not shaving his
2:51:22 hair, just gritty. Can he win it here
2:51:25 for the boys in blue and orange.
2:51:28 0 and one. Low pee
2:51:32 had an RBI single to win the third
2:51:35 inning tonight.
2:51:41 >> All 7,000 people here in Corpus Christi
2:51:44 are on their feet and they haven't moved
2:51:46 an inch.
2:51:54 Javon shut down tonight. Allowed two
2:51:58 runs, but neither of those earned.
2:52:04 Two and two.
2:52:08 If he can get a shutdown, we'll go to
2:52:10 round two.
2:52:12 The two from Java.
2:52:16 >> Got him.
2:52:18 We are seeing a legend being made here
2:52:21 at Corpus Christi. You're not real Javon
2:52:24 Ray.
2:52:26 >> Brett Loftess, it was his first ninth
2:52:28 inning of the year. Shuts it down. His
2:52:31 first showdown opportunity ever. And he
2:52:34 goes shut down with the K. Javon Ray is
2:52:38 not real.
2:52:47 A couple of shutdowns
2:52:49 >> and yet again we have Reese Miller.
2:52:52 >> This time things are a lot different. In
2:52:55 round two of showdowns, there is no
2:52:57 defender. There is pitcher versus
2:53:00 hitter.
2:53:01 And this hitter is one of the most
2:53:03 clutch ones we've seen in the history of
2:53:05 this sport. Let me take you back to
2:53:07 October of last year. Dalton Cornet
2:53:12 leaves the yard in showdowns against the
2:53:14 Savannah Mananas in game two of the
2:53:16 semifinals
2:53:18 in the playoffs.
2:53:21 One of four times we've had a walk-off
2:53:23 home run in showdowns. And now DC3
2:53:28 will face Reese Miller in the top of
2:53:31 round number two here in Corpus Christi.
2:53:41 The only time the firefighters have been
2:53:43 in showdowns this year, Dalton Cornet
2:53:45 was the one that walked it off in
2:53:47 Albuquerque, New Mexico. He's got a huge
2:53:50 chance to repeat history.
2:53:56 >> 0 and two.
2:53:58 Only way he could walk it off here would
2:54:00 be by putting it over the fence.
2:54:03 Tailgator one and two in showdowns this
2:54:06 year.
2:54:13 02 from Ree.
2:54:17 Another foul ball.
2:54:22 How good has this banana ball game been
2:54:24 here tonight? My gosh. Five to three
2:54:27 victors via a walk-off in the ninth
2:54:30 inning Thursday night. Three to2
2:54:31 tailgator won last night. Somebody's
2:54:33 going to win it in showdowns tonight.
2:54:40 Again, Tailgator trying to sweep their
2:54:43 first ever three-game series.
2:54:47 Firefighters trying to stop their
2:54:49 fiveame losing streak. The one, two from
2:54:51 Ree.
2:54:54 Swatted into right field. Going to roll
2:54:56 for a while. Reese on his horse. DC3
2:54:59 good wheels. It is going to be hard to
2:55:01 track that one down. Reese still running
2:55:04 all the way out at the track and he
2:55:06 won't even offer up a throw. DC3
2:55:10 makes it a four to three ball game
2:55:12 applied all the pressure on the
2:55:14 tailgator.
2:55:17 You want to know why the firefighters
2:55:19 call that man Captain Clutch? It's a
2:55:22 piece of hitting like that. 02 count and
2:55:26 he rips it down the right field line.
2:55:27 And how appropriate. After last night
2:55:30 getting robbed by Taylor Justice, he
2:55:32 goes to nearly the exact same place. And
2:55:34 this time it rolls all the way to the
2:55:36 track as now the firefighters get a new
2:55:39 hurler on the mound. Brett Loftess.
2:55:41 Johnny Hmel will be the man on the bump.
2:55:45 The closer who this weekend got roughed
2:55:49 up on Thursday night. He was the man
2:55:51 that relinquished the walk off. We
2:55:53 didn't even see him last night and now
2:55:55 we see him here tonight with an
2:55:57 opportunity if he's able to earn a
2:55:59 shutdown to earn a win for these
2:56:02 firefighters. However, the man he will
2:56:04 have to face has been absolutely on
2:56:07 fire. Zack Watson
2:56:10 Guadi an RBI single here tonight
2:56:15 and a man we know with home run power.
2:56:18 Just a reminder, just because the
2:56:21 firefighters
2:56:23 were able to score there in the top of
2:56:25 round number two,
2:56:28 if Wadi still hits a home run here, that
2:56:30 will end this ball game.
2:56:33 If he if he can score it inside the
2:56:35 Parker, we will go to round three. If
2:56:37 Johnny Hmel gets a showdown shutdown,
2:56:39 the firefighters win.
2:56:43 >> One and0.
2:56:53 Two and0.
2:56:55 A ball for spread would result in a
2:56:57 tailgator being placed on second base.
2:57:01 The new showdown rule implemented in
2:57:03 2026 here in Banana Ball.
2:57:07 >> Johnny able to get in there with his
2:57:08 wonderful curve ball. Two and one.
2:57:10 That's where he's most effective. If
2:57:12 that is working, he is hard to hit.
2:57:21 There are no steals of first in
2:57:22 showdowns,
2:57:24 >> but a three ball count nonetheless.
2:57:27 And what a predicament to be in for
2:57:29 Johnny Hmel.
2:57:31 You can relinquish the ball force Brent
2:57:33 put a man on second makes it 180 ft
2:57:36 closer for the tailgators to score. Or
2:57:38 you can challenge Zack Watson.
2:57:43 He will choose to put a man on second.
2:57:44 That man will be Jacob Pipperick as we
2:57:47 will reset the count. Pip will go out to
2:57:49 run now at second base and Zack Watson
2:57:52 will stay in the box to hit.
2:57:55 Now, just in case we make it there, if
2:57:57 Wadi draws another sprint, Pit will only
2:58:00 advance up 90 ft and then we'll be on
2:58:02 third base.
2:58:05 0 and one.
2:58:08 At this point, you just need to put it
2:58:11 in play if you're Zach Watson. With no
2:58:13 defender behind Johnny Hmel
2:58:16 and Jacob Peppersick on second,
2:58:23 Johnny Hmel has the Texas Tailgator down
2:58:26 to their final strike.
2:58:30 The man they call Lightning has an
2:58:32 opportunity to put this fivegame losing
2:58:35 streak in the history books.
2:58:39 No two to
2:58:42 hit in the sky. Will it stay in play?
2:58:45 It's going in foul territory.
2:58:48 Oh,
2:58:50 fan caught foul ball. Still counting
2:58:53 showdowns, might I add,
2:58:55 but dropped
2:58:57 and Zack Watson could take
2:59:00 a sigh of relief as we will do the O2
2:59:04 once more.
2:59:12 deep left field but fat
2:59:16 again.
2:59:17 A home run that leaves the yard here
2:59:20 will result in the tailgator down. A
2:59:24 showdown shutdown from Johnny Hmel. The
2:59:26 firefighters win.
2:59:30 The O2
2:59:32 got him. And the firefighters win it
2:59:35 four to three in showdowns in the
2:59:38 hometown of their skipper Val Perez.
2:59:43 You want to talk about learning from
2:59:45 adversity. Going through the fire in
2:59:48 flames. Johnny Hmel with a heartbreaking
2:59:51 Thursday. comes back on Saturday back
2:59:55 against the wall and gets a K. The
2:59:58 firefighters come back from three down
3:00:01 to win it in two rounds of showdowns.
3:00:04 What a night. What a team. And that one
3:00:08 is for Val.
3:00:20 the fire. I'm a height.
3:00:40 Well, my good friend Zach Stton, that
3:00:43 fivegame losing streak is in the past.
3:00:46 And your skipper Val Perez gets a win in
3:00:50 Corpus Christi with a team in a city
3:00:53 that she loves so much
3:00:57 after the last two nights of heartbreak.
3:01:00 You couldn't have blamed it if this team
3:01:02 after going three down would have thrown
3:01:05 in the towel. But they come back and
3:01:07 survive. They come back and they win.
3:01:11 That's why this is the grittiest team in
3:01:12 sports. And how about this? Lamar
3:01:15 Sparks, who hit a home run in this game
3:01:17 and got a ride home from his younger
3:01:19 sister, Gypsy, who battles cerebral
3:01:21 pausy, recreated a beautiful picture
3:01:24 from their youth on route to one of the
3:01:28 greatest wins the firefighters have had
3:01:30 this season.
3:01:33 >> It's in the middle, too.
3:01:34 >> What an incredible team. What an
3:01:36 incredible group of guys. And what a
3:01:39 moment
3:01:41 >> as
3:01:44 Michael Schwarz has entered
3:01:48 >> the photo circle and you see who he's
3:01:50 grabbed. We're not spoiling that. Down
3:01:52 to you, Michael.
3:01:53 >> Javon, you told me last night, you can't
3:01:55 teach that. You can't teach what you
3:01:56 just did on that mound. How did you stay
3:01:59 so poised, stay focused in the heat of
3:02:01 that moment?
3:02:03 >> Uh, first thing I did, I prayed.
3:02:04 Couldn't do it without God. And um
3:02:07 second of all, this team, this team
3:02:08 behind me, you know, we've been going
3:02:09 through some hard times, but we stayed
3:02:11 together as a team no matter what. No, I
3:02:13 know they got me.
3:02:14 >> This team is so close. I want to bring
3:02:16 in Lamar Sparks because I was with your
3:02:18 sister. I've been with your family and
3:02:20 we were waiting for that home run. You
3:02:22 were going to recreate the moment. First
3:02:23 night didn't happen. Second night didn't
3:02:25 happen. I was in left field and I had
3:02:27 tears in my eyes. Everyone just had
3:02:29 tears in their eyes as you recreated
3:02:30 that moment. We have the ball in the
3:02:32 dugout for you. What did that mean?
3:02:36 I mean, it's in I don't really have
3:02:37 words for it. It's something I've been
3:02:38 wanting to recreate for a long time now.
3:02:41 And finally, I'm in a league. I'm in a
3:02:42 place where I can recreate that and uh
3:02:44 have some great people around me, have
3:02:45 some great staff, some great teammates.
3:02:46 Val stuck her neck out as well and said,
3:02:48 "We're going to make this happen. We
3:02:49 want to make this happen, you know, cuz
3:02:50 this is bigger than banana ball, you
3:02:52 know, and so this was a indescribable
3:02:54 moment.
3:02:54 >> There's no other sport. That's why we
3:02:56 have the greatest sport in the entire
3:02:57 world that you can recreate that moment
3:03:00 and just feel that energy. What did it
3:03:02 mean for your family, your sister?
3:03:04 >> For my family and sister, that's I mean,
3:03:06 she's been grinding everywhere we go.
3:03:09 Every baseball anywhere we go, she's
3:03:11 been grinding to be there. If she's
3:03:13 there, she's in the front row sitting
3:03:14 through the sun, sitting through the hot
3:03:15 days, sitting through the cold days,
3:03:17 grinding to come watch me, my family as
3:03:19 well. And so, it was a great experience
3:03:20 to have them all out here and have them
3:03:21 behind me.
3:03:21 >> The first time that she's getting you
3:03:23 see getting to see you play in person.
3:03:24 Is Val here at Val?
3:03:27 Hey, I think Corpus Christi was rooting
3:03:30 to get that one win. Guys, did you do it
3:03:32 for Val this weekend?
3:03:34 >> They didn't need to do it for me. It's
3:03:35 all about all of us. We've been a family
3:03:37 the whole all year and um you know,
3:03:38 we've been doing playing good banana
3:03:40 ball and it's about time we got a win.
3:03:41 So, I appreciate that.
3:03:42 >> Well, it what an this was one of the
3:03:44 most incredible weekends. Javon, the
3:03:46 banana ball backstage question.
3:03:48 >> Yeah.
3:03:49 >> What was the nastiest play that you made
3:03:52 this season? Is it this game?
3:03:55 Um, I just want to say it doesn't
3:03:57 matter. It doesn't No, I just want
3:03:58 >> Hey, wait. There. Wait, there's a pool
3:03:59 out there, guys.
3:04:00 >> There's a pool. Hey, I say we jump.
3:04:02 Should we jump?
3:04:03 >> Should we You want to do it?
3:04:04 >> Should we? Let's go
3:04:05 >> to the pool. All right, let's to the
3:04:06 pool. A great game here. Set it up to
3:04:08 the booth.
3:04:10 >> Michael Schwarz, thank you very much.
3:04:12 The showman of the night is that man
3:04:15 wearing number 25 in red tonight. His
3:04:18 first ninth inning of the year. He goes
3:04:20 one, two, three. his first showdown
3:04:22 opportunity in his banana ball career.
3:04:24 He earns a showdown shutdown. A night
3:04:27 removed from giving up a home run to Taj
3:04:29 Porter and giving up a point for the
3:04:32 first time in a long time. Javon Ray
3:04:34 comes back and absolutely shoves.
3:04:38 As you take a look at the showman of the
3:04:39 night and what this game represented,
3:04:42 this is a weekend of three of the best
3:04:45 banana ball games you could ever see.
3:04:48 And they happen backto backto back
3:04:51 nights. The firefighters use their
3:04:53 offense to find a way. After going down
3:04:56 three points to none, they win the
3:04:58 seventh, the eighth, and the ninth. And
3:05:01 they find a way, excuse me, the sixth,
3:05:03 the seventh, and the eighth. And they
3:05:05 find a way to win in showdowns.
3:05:08 What a moment. What a game. And what a
3:05:11 special weekend Brett Loft is for this
3:05:13 team. Welcome you back inside the booth.
3:05:16 He's Zach Stton. I'm Brett Loftess. And
3:05:20 might I can I tell you a story between
3:05:23 me, you, and God.
3:05:25 Javon Ray, to be quite candid with you,
3:05:28 and to peel the curtain back a little
3:05:29 bit at home, is probably the the the
3:05:32 only player, and I wouldn't say the only
3:05:33 player, but probably the player that I'm
3:05:35 closest with outside of the Texas
3:05:36 Tailgator locker room. He's quite
3:05:38 frankly the easiest player to root for
3:05:40 that plays on any of the other five
3:05:42 teams that is not the blue and orange. I
3:05:44 don't say that disrespectful to anybody
3:05:45 else. And I just say that to uplift
3:05:47 Javon. I've met with him almost every
3:05:49 single week. We go back and watch every
3:05:51 single one of his outings either back in
3:05:52 Savannah or when we're on the road with
3:05:54 each other. the work that that young man
3:05:56 has put in behind the scenes from
3:05:58 December to January to February to
3:06:01 working through some things early on in
3:06:03 his mechanics in March to the
3:06:04 performance that you've seen tonight
3:06:06 against one of the best three offenses
3:06:08 in this sport who swats long balls left
3:06:10 and right has veteran baseballers up and
3:06:12 down this lineup that have made their
3:06:14 offensive presence known in our sport of
3:06:16 banana ball is special. what Javon Ray
3:06:19 did and the maturation we've seen from
3:06:21 him from year one to year two. There
3:06:23 were some questions when Val Perez took
3:06:26 him in the fifth round of the banana
3:06:27 ball player draft. All those questions
3:06:30 were hushed tonight. Javon Ray, like it
3:06:32 or not, is one of the very best bullpin
3:06:34 arms in this league and he proved that
3:06:36 in a big way tonight.
3:06:37 >> Yes, he did. On a different note, Val
3:06:40 Perez has been begging Banana Ball to
3:06:43 come back here to Corpus Christi, Texas,
3:06:45 her hometown, at a ballpark where she
3:06:47 was at on April 17th, 2005, working in
3:06:51 concessions the day this ballpark opened
3:06:53 up. Worked here two years in
3:06:55 concessions, multiple years after that
3:06:57 as an EMS worker, and now was able to be
3:06:59 a part of a brand that she helped
3:07:03 establish themselves in their inaugural
3:07:05 season. the only skipper that this brand
3:07:06 has ever seen able to get a win for the
3:07:10 firefighters as a former firefighter in
3:07:12 her hometown of Corpus Christi. Brett,
3:07:14 she contributed offensively to it as
3:07:16 well. Drew a ball force sprint that
3:07:18 batted in a run. I want to show you this
3:07:20 right here that says CCFD. I know it's
3:07:22 hard to read because it's all in black
3:07:23 and camo, but this is a win for them
3:07:25 tonight. They were all supportive of Val
3:07:28 ever since she thought that this was a
3:07:29 possibility. When she retired after 10
3:07:31 years, her biggest fans were her family
3:07:34 and her family in the Corpus Christi
3:07:36 fire department. All of them who are
3:07:38 watching tonight, this one is for you.
3:07:40 For Val Perez, this will go down, I
3:07:42 believe, as maybe the most emotional win
3:07:45 in the most emotional weekend of her
3:07:47 career. And I'm so proud of the way this
3:07:49 team battled back. Just look at Johnny
3:07:51 Hmel. Had one of the most gut-wrenching
3:07:53 outings on Thursday night. Comes back
3:07:55 back against the wall with a runner on
3:07:57 second and he shuts the door. This is
3:07:59 why this team is not just the hottest
3:08:01 team in sports. I believe they are the
3:08:03 grittiest team in Banana Ball. Let's
3:08:05 take a look at next week in our great
3:08:07 sport of Banana Ball. These firefighters
3:08:10 and tailgators, if they like what you're
3:08:12 seeing here in Corpus Christi, we get to
3:08:14 play three more of them in the Queen
3:08:16 City. The 704 Charlotte, North Carolina.
3:08:18 Thursday night, June the 4th is when
3:08:21 we'll kick off that three-game series at
3:08:23 700 p.m. Eastern. Clowns and bananas
3:08:25 will also run it back again next weekend
3:08:27 as they will be playing in our home of
3:08:30 Savannah, Georgia, historic Grayson
3:08:31 Stadium. And the Coconuts in Party
3:08:33 Animals also will run it back next
3:08:35 weekend when we have history take place.
3:08:38 The Party Animals will headline the
3:08:40 first ever Major League Stadium, not
3:08:42 against the Bananas, when they play the
3:08:44 Loco Beach Coconuts at American Family
3:08:46 Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
3:08:49 I'm going to say something. I'm going to
3:08:52 say something. Bo Scalla you're in the
3:08:55 chat. Correct me if I'm wrong. This was
3:08:56 the greatest three-game series in the
3:08:58 history of Banana Ball. Period.
3:08:59 Tailgator win the series two to one. We
3:09:02 have a new combined single game trick
3:09:04 play record on Thursday night with a
3:09:06 walk-off from Nick Lopez. His first ever
3:09:08 walk-off home run in his life. Last
3:09:10 night we have a ninth inning rally from
3:09:12 the Firefighters that falls short
3:09:13 because of a web gym double play from
3:09:16 Taylor Justice and Jordan Hussein.
3:09:18 Tonight, the firefighters are down three
3:09:21 points to none when the sixth, seventh,
3:09:23 and eighth innings. We then go to
3:09:25 showdowns where Javon Ray proves himself
3:09:28 to be a hero and one of the best
3:09:29 relievers in this sport. Johnny Hmel
3:09:31 writes his wrongs from Thursday night
3:09:34 and the firefighters in that fivegame
3:09:36 losing streak. And Val Perez gets win
3:09:38 number one as a skipper in her hometown
3:09:41 of Corpus Christi, Texas. for everyone
3:09:44 in the production truck under the
3:09:45 doodelage of our director Alex Gross,
3:09:48 our wonderful producer Mohawk Mike. He's
3:09:50 Zach Stton. I'm Brett Loftus telling you
3:09:52 to stay safe, stay happy, stay healthy,
3:09:55 and until we see you in the 704 Zack
3:09:58 Stton everybody, axe is up, shop hard.
3:10:08 Heat. Heat. N.
3:10:44 Heat. Heat.
3:11:02 Heat.
3:11:05 Heat.
