📝 Full transcript (5002 segments)
0:09 And we are live. The date June 20th, the
0:12 year 2026, and the spectacle before us,
0:15 Banana Ball. It's a meeting between the
0:17 party and the Trans Pacus, sponsored by
0:20 Beer and Barbecue. In the shade of a
0:22 Broadway that is far more conducive to
0:23 these two teams, the neon lights of
0:25 Nashville, Tennessee, have lit the way
0:27 home each night. A sweep is on the line
0:29 as the hottest team in the sport, the
0:31 defending champion party animals,
0:32 [music] meet the top team in the sport,
0:34 the Texas Tailgators. Welcome to Music
0:39 City
0:41 and welcome inside the Range Cage. I'm
0:43 Drake Tol here to hold your hand or your
0:46 drink for the next couple of hours of
0:48 competition. Next to me, procuring a
0:50 cowboy hat to cover his hairline. He's
0:52 the Carthage Cowboy and the voice of the
0:54 Texas Tailgator, Brett Loftess. And
0:56 after the Animals had stolen the first
0:57 two games in Nashville, the Tailgator
1:00 locker room has a must-win field.
1:02 >> Might I might I can I do something?
1:04 >> Yeah, sure.
1:04 >> Can I do something? Joe Mikolik texted
1:07 the entire Tailgator group chat today.
1:09 Okay. 3:23 Central time and says, "Does
1:13 anybody have a W for tonight?" dot dot
1:16 dot dot question mark question mark
1:18 question mark American flag. So, it does
1:22 feel like a must-win. Coach Brandon
1:23 Pennington, the pitching coach, said
1:24 he's going to coach his butt off
1:26 tonight. It isn't a must-win in all
1:27 reality of things. They've already
1:28 clenched the playoff spot. They're
1:30 already the top team in the league, but
1:32 they feel it in that locker room. They
1:34 want to avoid a three-game sweep for the
1:35 party animals. And
1:36 >> this is a party animal squad who is now
1:38 over 500 for the first time in three
1:40 months. Again, defending champions
1:42 [music] in the sport of banana ball. And
1:43 they've finally caught on. Last weekend
1:45 against the Loco Beach Coconuts. This
1:46 weekend in Nashville. They've now won
1:48 four straight contests. And Brett, it's
1:52 a tailgator team that's still number one
1:54 in the league.
1:55 >> Still is and is going to continue to be
1:56 that way as well here in the sport of
1:58 Banana Ball.
1:58 >> Yeah, absolutely. And look, Brett, this
2:01 this CW broadcast live on national
2:04 television. Cannot tell you how honored
2:06 I am, how grateful we are for the sport
2:08 of Bananaball to be on this platform on
2:10 those two letters and incredibly excited
2:12 to call the game with you tonight.
2:13 >> Yeah, I am too, man. And I you know what
2:14 else I'm excited about? You know, we got
2:16 to talk about got to talk about our
2:17 sport of an animal. We also have to talk
2:19 about the 11 rules of the sport of an
2:21 animal. And for that, is it
2:23 >> our boss? Is it our boss?
2:24 >> It's your roommate this weekend.
2:25 >> He is my roommate this weekend. Room 206
2:27 Fairfield in Nashville Midtown. Jesse
2:29 Cole.
2:32 >> Banana Ball is the fastest and most
2:34 entertaining show in sports. And the 11
2:37 rules guarantee the most fans first
2:39 experience every second.
2:41 >> Unbelievable.
2:42 >> Welcome to THE BANANA BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP
2:44 LEAGUE. Rule number one, win the inning,
2:47 win the point. The team that scores the
2:49 most runs in an inning wins the point.
2:51 >> IT'S A WALK-OFF WINNER to the deepest
2:54 point [cheering] of the field.
2:55 >> OH MY GOODNESS.
2:57 >> WITH the equalizer point, trick plays
2:59 provide the away team an opportunity to
3:01 earn a point going into the final
3:02 inning. And in the final inning, every
3:05 run counts as a point. Rule number two,
3:08 Banana Ball has a 2hour time limit,
3:11 guaranteeing that every game is
3:13 fast-paced and action-packed. Rule
3:16 number three, no stepping out of the
3:18 batter's box. If you do, it will result
3:20 in a strike.
3:20 >> Max stepped out of the box and because
3:22 he stepped out of the box, that's it.
3:24 >> Rule number four, no bunting, cuz
3:27 bunting sucks. If you bunt, you'll be
3:30 thrown out of the game. Rule number
3:31 five, batters can steal first base.
3:34 >> Ball three. CAN HE TAKE IT OFF FOR FIRST
3:35 THROW FROM LEROY IN TIME?
3:38 >> Rule number six, there's [music] no
3:40 walks. Walks are ball for sprints. The
3:43 batter can advance as far as they want
3:45 until every position player touches the
3:48 ball.
3:48 >> NO DEFENDERS HAVE TOUCHED THE BANANA
3:50 BALL. IT IS A FOUR BASE SPRINT TO OPEN
3:53 up the ball game.
3:54 >> Rule number seven, no mound visits.
3:58 >> Nope. Rule number eight, foul balls
4:01 [music] caught by a fan count as an out.
4:03 Oh, they they missed. They did. They
4:06 can't guard it on the to
4:08 show. [cheering]
4:09 >> Rule number nine, the showdowns. In
4:12 Showdowns, the best of the best face off
4:14 in the biggest moment. One hitter verse
4:17 one pitcher with one fielder behind him.
4:20 And the hitter has to score.
4:22 >> To right center. See you later.
4:26 >> Rule number 10. The banana ball
4:28 challenge role gives the coaches and
4:30 you, the fans, a chance to impact a call
4:32 on the field. [cheering]
4:34 Rule number 11, the golden batter. Once
4:37 a game, each team can give any player in
4:39 a bat, regardless of the lineup. This
4:41 offers the biggest matchups on the
4:43 biggest stage.
4:45 >> Big on big.
4:47 It's good. It's gone. It's gone. Get out
4:51 of here, ball. [cheering]
4:52 That thing had a family. [screaming]
4:56 And those are the rules of banana ball.
5:02 >> Those are the rules of our sport of
5:04 banana ball. And my favorite, at least
5:06 in the last 24 hours, is that steal of
5:09 first base. During a wild pitch or pass
5:11 ball, any batter has the opportunity to
5:13 swipe first base. The party animal did
5:15 it three times. Tonight, Andy Cosgrove
5:17 tied a single game record with two of
5:19 them.
5:20 >> Yeah, he was the seventh guy in the
5:21 history of the sport to ever steal two
5:23 bags. [music] Two first base bags. I
5:25 should say in the same game and you see
5:27 that success rate, man. 87.5%
5:30 success rate. Why don't people do it
5:32 more, you know, it led to what was a
5:34 Party Animals victory last night, which
5:36 I'm I'm hearing, Drake, we should take a
5:38 look at.
5:38 >> Yeah, why don't we? We'll take you back
5:40 to what was a bullpen night for the
5:42 Party Animals. A little Johnny Hol
5:43 staff, Jake Leo started, then Brady
5:45 Kaiser. We just [music] alphabet soup.
5:46 Dalton Pon, he gives it past Orlando
5:48 Bloom. Then Ryan Rodriguez, Nate
5:50 Tellier. Oh my goodness. Sean Fluke.
5:52 They used seven pitchers during their
5:54 nine innings. The Texas Tailgator rode
5:56 Chris Clark as long as they could though
5:58 and he was electric.
5:59 >> Yeah, he was the big donkey. Best
6:00 pitcher tonight right there. That strike
6:01 out the TJ Reeves, man. I mean, he has
6:03 incredible stuff. He wasn't taken in the
6:06 fourth round of the big league draft for
6:08 no reason. And then this was so cool.
6:10 >> Johnny Knoxville, co-creator of Jackass,
6:13 takes an AB and a big swing and a miss.
6:16 He strikes out on that right arm of
6:17 Clark. But what an opportunity to have
6:19 him as a guest in the ballpark. [music]
6:20 And you can't have Johnny Knoxville
6:22 without a little Steo. He was on fire
6:24 and scored a mid ining run for the Party
6:27 Animals last night while he was set
6:29 ablaze. But that all led up to the night
6:31 where Drew Gillespie gave way to
6:33 history.
6:37 NO, HE DIDN'T. NO, HE DIDN'T. Welcome to
6:41 history. [cheering]
6:42 [screaming] Kyle Martin is the new
6:45 single season home run king in the
6:47 HISTORY OF BANANA BALL.
6:52 16 home runs
6:57 >> surpassing Jake Skull against the party
7:00 animals.
7:04 >> Brett Loftess, you on the mic for that
7:06 call. Both an incredible play and a
7:08 piece of an animal history we will not
7:10 soon forget.
7:10 >> Yeah, man. That was one we'd been
7:12 looking forward to for a while and then
7:14 this happened. Uh Drake,
7:17 >> what is he throwing it down? Jacob
7:19 Pippersick, the designated runner, is in
7:21 between first and second with two outs
7:23 in the ninth. HE'S TAGGED OUT. DREW
7:26 GILLESPIE THROWS A BALL LOW. Pippers
7:27 took off to steal. Cosgrove wasn't going
7:29 to throw and then he just slowed up.
7:33 Still a couple of conversations we've
7:35 had with players on the field who said
7:37 it was just mass confusion. Pipper maybe
7:39 the most confused of them all.
7:41 >> And and I talked to Pip [music] for
7:42 about 10 20 minutes today about that
7:45 moment and he said he just thought it
7:47 was a foul ball. I mean, straight up, he
7:49 said, "I thought it was a foul ball." He
7:51 said, "But I'm ready to come out and
7:52 play today, and I'm going to keep doing
7:53 what I do best." That's the guy who's
7:54 tied for second best in stolen bases in
7:56 our league with 15 of them. He said, "If
7:58 I continue to think about last night,
8:00 I'm not going to be able to do my job
8:01 tonight." He's in a great headsp space.
8:03 Last night though, a guy who was great
8:04 on the one-year anniversary of him
8:06 breaking the shin. Chase Akup comes out,
8:08 wins showman of the ball game, and
8:09 obviously Kyle Martin, [music] single
8:11 season, now home run king in banana
8:13 ball.
8:13 >> Yeah, no doubt. And again to tie that
8:15 note on Pipper great human being ball
8:17 played. He is going to be justified
8:19 tonight for the Texas Tailgator and we
8:20 back out of the base pass and running.
8:22 At least that is our expectation. And
8:23 there you see it how the party animals
8:25 came away with that 3 to2 victory
8:27 despite the Texas Tailgator winning the
8:29 equalizer point for the second time this
8:33 weekend. And there you go. That single
8:35 season home run record in just uh what
8:38 33 games?
8:39 >> 32 cuz he missed the game in Morgantown.
8:41 Yeah. Kyle Martin, 16 of those. Kmart is
8:44 a pros pro and still just a rookie here.
8:47 >> Yeah. And he's an incredible human
8:48 being. And earlier today, Drake, we you
8:51 and I got to do something really, really
8:53 cool as I got to sit down with my good
8:55 friend Kyle Martin.
9:00 Hey man, new single season home run king
9:02 Kyle Martin. 16 of them, 32 games. Kyle,
9:05 been building up for about three
9:07 weekends now. How much up until that
9:10 moment last night was that the front of
9:11 your mind?
9:12 >> Uh, not so much. I mean, no matter
9:16 what's going on out here, we're always
9:17 just playing to win. So, that's all I'm
9:19 trying to do is give my team the best
9:21 chance of winning. Um, and if it's
9:22 hitting a home run, it's hitting a home
9:23 run. So, that's all I'm out here to try
9:26 and do is just help us win.
9:27 >> You know, another guy that's hit a lot
9:28 of home runs, former first round pick
9:30 Jake Skull, whose record you broke last
9:32 night. We're in fans first chat last
9:34 night. our director of entertainment,
9:35 Zack Fangelo, stands up and talks about
9:37 what Reese Hampton, what Jake Skull,
9:39 what those guys have done for the party
9:40 animals, allowing another brand at that
9:42 point in time to come in banana ball and
9:44 be a brand now that that's allowed the
9:46 Texas Tailgator to do that and more
9:48 specifically you. What do those pioneers
9:51 mean to you and help make that moment
9:53 last night mean so much more?
9:55 >> It's really impressive what they've
9:56 done. um all these veterans, you get to
9:58 watch them and see how they go about the
9:59 game and how they approach um this
10:02 banana ball experience and it's it's
10:05 nice seeing guys that have settled in
10:07 and set that tone really high. Um and to
10:10 be able to come out here and compete
10:11 with them is is very special.
10:13 >> Now Jake hit 15 home runs in 65 games
10:16 last year. You've hit 16 and 32. Got a
10:19 lot of ball games left to play.
10:21 >> What you got else for us this year?
10:23 >> I don't know. Hopefully a lot of W's and
10:24 a few more home runs mixed in.
10:26 >> Maybe a championship ring or two like he
10:27 got last year.
10:28 >> Hey, I can't predict a future, but we'll
10:30 find out.
10:30 >> Speaking of Mr. Skull, a Mount Rushmore
10:33 player in the history of our sport, my
10:35 good friend.
10:36 >> I've got him. He's over here. He's right
10:37 here.
10:37 >> Yeah. Uh so you can say you're the one
10:40 to win the championship ring this year.
10:41 I'm sure you take that uh on top of the
10:43 records. But speaking of those records,
10:44 and you're a pros pro for doing this
10:45 interview, to see pioneer was the word
10:48 that that Brett used. To see your record
10:50 broken, but to see the development of
10:52 this sport thanks to the pro guys like
10:54 you and Hamp that have come in. What
10:55 does that mean to you?
10:57 >> Yeah, it means a lot. It's um it's four
10:59 years coming or you know, four years
11:01 running now for me and Hamp and and this
11:03 big group of probably, you know, five or
11:05 six, seven of us uh party animals that
11:07 have kind of built this brand. So, it's
11:09 it's cool to watch these new teams with,
11:11 you know, guys like Kyle coming and and
11:13 build their own brand for this Tailgator
11:15 group and and all the teams all over the
11:17 league. So, yeah, getting to be a part
11:19 of it early on was uh very special and
11:22 getting the love and respect from uh
11:24 everyone around the league is is uh very
11:27 special to us and I don't know if it's
11:28 warranted, but we'll take it.
11:30 >> As records are being broken and reset
11:32 and records are meant to be broken,
11:34 you've said that all day long today.
11:36 Does it give you a new goal to reach
11:38 for?
11:38 >> Yeah, I mean, you want to, you know, the
11:40 the bar keeps getting raised by more and
11:42 more talent in this league. So, it's
11:43 it's only for the betterment of this
11:45 sport, which is what we've been striving
11:47 for for, you know, four or five years
11:49 now. Um, there's so many people that
11:52 love this party animal brand like
11:54 yourself and and I and you know, a lot
11:57 of us have fallen in love with it over
11:59 the last few years and it's uh just to
12:01 see it grow, to see records get broken,
12:04 to see better players come in the
12:06 league, it's uh it's very special and
12:08 we're just happy we got to kind of
12:10 service that.
12:11 >> From a bangup rookie to a legend, the
12:13 sport of banana ball in the Banana Ball
12:14 Championship League is growing.
12:19 Hey, that was us. [laughter] Kyle Martin
12:23 and Jake Skull, two of the sports best.
12:25 One of them a veteran, one of them a
12:26 rookie as we just mentioned, and I
12:28 thought each of them answered those
12:29 question. I want to go back. Credit to
12:31 Skull for taking that interview the day
12:33 after his records broken. Credit to Kyle
12:34 Martin for being such a pro.
12:35 >> Can I just say one thing about Jake
12:37 Skull? I think he was happier than me
12:39 and Kyle Martin combined that his record
12:41 got broken. That's how much he loves our
12:43 sport. It's how much he loves the growth
12:44 of our sport. I mean, heck, Drake Jake
12:46 Skull gives us notes after our
12:48 broadcast. Like, that's how the human
12:50 being we're talking about. Not only our
12:52 baseball product,
12:53 >> the sweetest notes of the world, too.
12:55 He's listening.
12:56 >> Not only our baseball aspect of our
12:57 banana ball product, but our product as
12:59 a whole, entertainment, broadcast,
13:01 everything encompassing. That guy cares
13:02 about the growth of our [music]
13:04 organization.
13:04 >> You know what? Let's flip it down to the
13:05 field for a second or two as the party
13:07 animals are being introduced in front of
13:09 a capacity crowd.
13:11 At first base, the man with the bands,
13:14 number two, Jason Zulan.
13:21 And behind the plate, he's our Love
13:23 Island superstar number five, Andy Cosg
13:28 Grove.
13:32 And behind the plate, wear number 41,
13:36 Bronson Balho.
13:42 He's our designated everything number 40
13:45 Mark Smithbody.
14:06 [music]
14:17 We just get started.
14:35 Give it up for your [screaming]
14:37 party
14:39 animals.
14:47 fans, if I can direct your attention
14:50 just to the right of the first base
14:51 dugout, it is now time for my favorite
14:55 tradition prior to the greatest party in
14:59 sports. Because we all know it ain't a
15:02 party without a little bottle service.
15:10 Meet tonight's bottle service baby,
15:13 sixmon-old.
15:16 Will the take the bottle?
15:21 HE TOOK THE BOTTLE.
15:25 YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES.
15:41 Most ball games start off with a
15:43 ceremonial first pitch, but in case you
15:45 haven't noticed yet, this is not an
15:48 ordinary ball game in the party animal
15:50 kingdom. Instead, we prefer to kick
15:53 things off with the ceremonial first
15:55 chug of the night. So, I'm here with Cam
15:59 and Craig, and these two beefcakes are
16:01 going to face off head-to-head to see
16:03 who can chuck his can the fastest.
16:06 Whoever chucks his can first will earn
16:08 the DISTINCT HONOR OF TOWING THE rubber
16:10 and firing his can home toward our
16:13 catcher behind home plate. But that's
16:16 not all. The stakes have never been
16:18 higher because the winner of tonight's
16:21 first chug will also earn the
16:23 responsibility of being our fan
16:26 challenge representative in tonight's
16:28 ball game. So before we get to chugging,
16:32 just a quick reminder, this is still a
16:35 familyfriendly show. So, I can't tell
16:38 you what these guys were chugging out
16:39 there in the pre-party plaza, but I
16:42 assure you I've inspected these cans,
16:45 and these are in fact full of root beer.
16:48 So, please join me and root these guys
16:52 on as we complete the first chug of the
16:55 game. Gentlemen, on your marks, get set.
17:00 Chug. CHUG. CHUG. CHUG. CHUG. CHUG.
17:06 They're off to a hot start. It's going
17:07 to be a photo finish. And it looks like
17:09 Craig has absolutely dominated the
17:12 competition. Crushed the can on his head
17:14 for good measure. Like a true tailgator.
17:20 You earned it, my friend. Took the
17:22 rubber. And let's see what you got.
17:25 He crushes his hand. He takes a sign. He
17:28 rocks and fires. AND IT'S JUST A BIT
17:31 OUTSIDE.
17:33 But not only is Greg your first Chuck
17:36 champion, he is now ALSO YOUR FAN
17:39 CHALLENGE representative in tonight's
17:42 BALL GAME. GIVE IT UP ONE MORE TIME for
17:45 your fan challenge representative,
17:47 Craig.
17:49 >> Party animals headliner.
17:51 >> Yeah.
17:52 >> Tailgator fan wins first chug and is the
17:55 fan challenge representative.
17:57 >> This is rare. This is rare. A visiting
18:00 team will have the fan challenge in
18:02 their back pocket tonight as the
18:04 defending champion party animals meet
18:06 the Texas [music] tailgator. And we are
18:08 moments away from first pitch here in
18:10 Nashville. Let's say hello to our
18:12 starting pitchers that you will see
18:14 showcased in this evening's ball game.
18:17 Wow. Brett Helton coming off the back of
18:20 a 9 in 27 out complete game banana ball
18:24 shut out last weekend in Jersey Shore.
18:26 And then Christian Davis. Oh, I don't
18:28 know. a guy who's induced 109 trick
18:31 plays this year. Heads and shoulders
18:33 above anybody else in the Banana Ball
18:35 Championship League. I mean, listen, I
18:37 know those ERAs are a little bit higher
18:40 than your typical ERA in Major League
18:42 Baseball. Drake, you see those numbers,
18:44 though? Might I throw one at you? I know
18:45 you hate numbers.
18:46 >> Can I The league RA this year in the
18:48 BBCL 639?
18:50 >> Can I explain why that is?
18:52 >> Talk to me.
18:52 >> So, in banana ball, with the advent of
18:56 the walk-off, you can walk an inning
18:57 off. Let's Let's play this game. All
18:58 right. You come out as a starting
19:00 pitcher. Bottom of the first. Your first
19:02 pitch you throw is a walk-off home run.
19:04 >> What's your ERA?
19:05 >> Infinity,
19:06 >> right? Cuz you've gotten zero outs and
19:08 the inning's over. You got an infinite
19:09 erra. Next two innings, you strike out
19:11 all six guys. Your erra still only
19:14 represents two complete innings pitched
19:17 because those are the amount of outs
19:19 that you've garnered in a game. That
19:21 means your erra are typically going to
19:22 be higher banana ball given the
19:24 walk-off. That's tier 2, tier three
19:28 banana ball knowledge. We got a lot of
19:29 fans, true fans that are watching
19:30 tonight that get it, that understand.
19:32 That's why the ERAs look a bit
19:34 different. That's why those two erraas
19:35 are very solid for starters [music] in
19:37 this sport. And Brett Helton,
19:40 one of the scariest.
19:41 >> Talk to me.
19:42 >> Any given night, that man might just go
19:45 a full nine innings of work. He has
19:48 thrown two complete games this season.
19:51 His most recent was last weekend on the
19:54 Jersey Shore where he went a full nine
19:56 innings, 27 outs as the away team.
20:01 >> As the away team didn't allow a single
20:03 walk off, it was a banana ball shut out
20:07 in a CG for number 10 for the Animals.
20:10 He was electric and just two strikeouts.
20:12 So, his defense gets a lot of credit for
20:13 what they did behind him as well as
20:15 Denise, the lady who caught a foul ball
20:17 in her hat for an out. Speaking of
20:20 defenses, the defenses that have been
20:23 behind these [music] three tailgator
20:24 arms this year have been incredible.
20:26 Christian Davis, Brett Sanchez, Chris
20:28 Clark all lead the Banana Ball
20:30 Championship League in trick plays
20:32 induced. 67% of Christian Davis's outs
20:36 have been [music] trick plays. Brett
20:37 Sanchez, you see that 11 behind him,
20:40 Chris Clark, 73 trick plays induced. I
20:42 mean, dude, last year Noah Nisnik led
20:45 Banana Ball with 144 trick plays
20:48 induced. CD is going to surpass that
20:50 number. Noah Nisnic, 48% of his outs
20:52 were trick plays induced. 67% THIS year
20:55 for Christian Davis. I mean, it has been
20:57 absolutely incredible what the Tailgator
21:00 defense has done behind these [music]
21:01 guys, but what they've done to induce
21:03 soft contact and give them those
21:05 opportunities. Speaking of trick plays,
21:07 might I tell you about the equalizer
21:09 point?
21:10 >> You may. Tailgators are six and3 when
21:12 earning the equalizer point this year.
21:14 They've obviously done it nine times.
21:16 >> Might I ask you when they're losing
21:17 games most consistently despite winning
21:19 the equalizer
21:20 >> this weekend?
21:21 >> Yeah,
21:21 >> they've won the equalizer point in both
21:23 games one and two this weekend, but lost
21:25 the game on the scoreboard. So, what
21:28 does that tell you?
21:30 >> I don't know.
21:32 >> I REALLY DON'T.
21:33 >> GREAT QUESTION. ACTUALLY, THAT'S
21:34 [laughter] A GREAT YEAH, it tells you
21:35 that the Texas Tailgator have done
21:37 everything possible defensively this
21:39 week to win ball games. And I think you
21:41 and I talked about this at dinner last
21:42 night.
21:43 >> The last two games it came down to
21:46 between these Juggernauts, the party
21:47 tailgator, which team made a last
21:49 mistake, who who blinks late in ball
21:52 games and each of the first two nights,
21:54 it was [music] those Texas tailgators.
21:56 The lights got a bit too bright. Couple
21:58 of base running snafuss and that's where
21:59 the party animals have won the first two
22:02 here in Nashville setting up an
22:04 opportunity for a sweep today. But that
22:05 number one team in the Banana Ball
22:07 Championship League is sitting right
22:09 here in front of them. Those tailgators
22:10 that at any moment can blow out a banana
22:12 ball game against anybody in a city that
22:15 these two teams love. Nashville has that
22:18 perfect mix of country and cowboy right
22:21 there with the life of the party. The
22:24 black and pink of the Texas tailgators
22:25 have walked home via the light of the
22:27 neon lights on Broadway
22:30 so often this weekend. But uh we need to
22:32 know from Mattie Warren, do our players
22:34 actually understand what bars are real
22:36 and what bars are fake in this city.
22:41 >> Animals and the tailgators has spent the
22:43 last couple of days here in Nashville.
22:44 Now Nashville has a lot of bars if you
22:47 didn't know. So, we're going to see who
22:49 on the teams can tell what the real name
22:51 of a Nashville bar is and which one is a
22:53 fake one. Let's go. Real or fake? Morgan
22:56 Wallins This Bar
22:58 >> Morgan Wallins This Bar
23:02 >> Low Country
23:05 >> Low Country.
23:06 >> Low Country sounds too basic. No.
23:09 >> Low Country.
23:12 >> That's got to be
23:15 off to a hot start. Okay, here we go.
23:17 Acme feed and seed.
23:20 It's real. Acne feed and seed.
23:25 >> Real.
23:26 >> Oh,
23:27 >> nudies.
23:28 >> Oh, that's a bomb.
23:30 >> Nudies.
23:31 >> I think that's
23:33 >> John Rich's Redneck Riviera.
23:37 >> Say big.
23:38 >> John Rich's Redneck Riviera.
23:42 >> Yeah,
23:42 >> it's real.
23:43 >> Dolly Parton's Jolene's.
23:45 >> Oh.
23:47 I'm going to go fake though.
23:48 >> Dolly Parton's Joe Louise.
23:53 >> Go. Yeah.
23:54 >> Dolly [music] Parton's Joe.
23:56 >> Yes.
23:56 >> Chris Stapleton's whiskey barrel.
23:58 >> Yep.
23:59 >> Chris Stapleton's whiskey barrel.
24:01 >> Oh, that's real. Oh my gosh.
24:04 >> And that's the exact thing. And so what
24:06 I was talking about last night as it
24:08 pertains to nudies, right? I was telling
24:10 you that we were the opportunity. Well,
24:12 nudies. And so I'm on my phone and I'm
24:14 looking at
24:16 WE'RE BACK ON THE CW app and YouTube.
24:19 The party animals and Texas tailgate.
24:21 >> What were you just talking about?
24:22 >> Moments away from Banana Ball.
24:24 >> Just you didn't finish it last night.
24:25 >> Nashville, Tennessee, Music City, uh,
24:28 Country Music, Hall of Fame, Willie
24:31 Nelson,
24:31 >> Dolly Parton,
24:32 >> correct?
24:33 >> George, Wallen, uh,
24:35 >> I don't think he's there yet.
24:36 >> The Possum, the George Jones, that's
24:38 good. Like Mley Crew is a [laughter]
24:40 member of the Country Music Hall of Fame
24:42 for some reason.
24:43 >> Neil McCoy.
24:43 >> I don't get to decide. They didn't allow
24:45 me. Del McCory. We can keep going as we
24:47 I Ralph Stanley. We could go for a
24:49 while. The great old Opry I got to visit
24:51 a couple of days ago. And man, this city
24:53 has been a great host. And Nudies is a
24:56 spectacular bar here in Nashville. Uh so
24:59 many of those scenes that our our
25:01 players and our team bands have gotten
25:04 to be a part of this weekend. Both Party
25:06 Down, the official band of the Party
25:07 Animals. Jason Art, the official band of
25:09 the of the Texas Tailgators, got to
25:11 perform this weekend in Nashville. And
25:13 now 10,000 of this city's finest have
25:15 converged on First Horizon Park. But
25:18 Jan, the lead singer of Party Down, has
25:20 to help them get fired up.
25:24 Oh, starting with claps.
25:30 We're waving.
25:38 Oo, a little disco.
25:45 Bring it around everybody.
25:51 >> Scuba,
25:59 >> jumping jacks.
26:01 >> Get your cardio, folks.
26:06 And we got some more claps. Nora, this
26:09 whole stadium is cheering for you.
26:12 [cheering] Give it up one more time for
26:14 your fan warm-up leader, Nora.
26:36 Ladies, gentlemen, boys and girls, and
26:40 parters from around the globe. Tonight,
26:43 you and thousands of your friends here
26:46 live and thousands more watching at home
26:48 have gathered here to witness something
26:51 beyond your wildest imaginations.
26:54 From Sixth Street to Bourbon Street,
26:57 from Tampa Bay to Broadway, party people
27:01 come from across the globe to witness
27:04 this. This is not baseball. This is the
27:09 rage cage where the wildest, craziest,
27:13 sexiest players step into the gauntlet.
27:17 This is a game of the fans, by the fans,
27:21 and for the fans. But this is not your
27:24 granddad's pastime. This is not just
27:27 another night at the ballpark. This game
27:30 is baseball by birth, fruit by name, and
27:33 an absolute worldwide phenomenon by the
27:37 grace of God featuring Lil John.
27:42 This is the time for all 10,000 fans
27:47 here in Nashville, TENNESSEE TO GET ON
27:50 your feet and give me your voice
27:56 [cheering]
28:00 because this is the greatest party IN
28:04 SPORTS. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THIS IS B
28:09 [screaming]
28:12 IN the ball.
28:15 [cheering]
28:18 >> Now it's TIME TO MEET THE STARTING
28:19 LINEUP FOR THE PARTY ANIMALS. KILL IT
28:22 FROM THE LEFT FIELD. BURM the right
28:23 fielder X Jake go
28:27 [screaming and groaning]
28:34 from the Vanderbilt Health Picnic plays
28:36 the first baseman number two Jason.
28:40 [screaming]
28:52 This week, a hot new bombshell enters
28:55 the villa.
28:56 >> Coming from section 121, the extra

29:02 Cosgrove.
29:11 Coming from section 216, the center
29:14 fielder number six, Ree
29:18 Hampton.
29:27 >> Up here in the Panda Den with me and JC,
29:31 THE DESIGNATED HITTER, NUMBER THREE, TJ
29:36 REE.
29:39 [cheering]
29:40 Take it down.
29:43 [cheering]
29:47 >> Coming from section 2011, the shortstop.
29:50 Number 11, Chase.
30:08 Coming from section 113, the third
30:10 baseman number four, Tana Tinder

30:29 Fisher.
30:40 on top of the third base dugout. Back

30:45 Hollywood Bronx [screaming]
30:48 Boho
30:56 on top of the first base dugout. The
30:58 second baseman hears 407
31:03 Malor. [screaming]
31:15 Coming from inside the first base
31:19 dugout,
31:21 tonight's starting pitcher,
31:24 number 10,
31:27 Barrett [screaming]
31:29 Hton.
31:37 The head coach for the party animals is
31:38 Mike Baba. The bases is assisted by
31:41 Thomas Him Shady Simino and Anthony.
31:46 >> Those are the starting lineups for your
31:47 party animals. When we come back, it's
31:50 the animals and the Texas Tailgator
31:52 playing Banana Ball. A sweep on the line
31:55 on the CW and YouTube.
32:00 [music]
32:01 America
32:07 with the singing of tonight's national
32:09 anthem. Please welcome to the field
32:12 Caroline Bergen.
32:16 Say can you [singing] see
32:20 by the dawn early
32:24 light
32:26 what so proudly
32:28 we [singing] held
32:31 at the twilight
32:33 last gleam
32:36 who's brought stripes [singing] and
32:38 bright stars
32:41 through the Where will we
32:44 fight?
32:46 All the ramparts
32:49 we [singing] watched
32:51 were so gallently
32:54 streaming.
32:57 And the rockets
32:59 red,
33:01 the bombs [singing] bursting
33:04 in air
33:06 gave proof to the [singing] night
33:11 that our flag was still there.
33:16 Oh, [singing] say does that star
33:19 spangled
33:21 B
33:23 yet. [singing]
33:27 Oh, the land
33:29 of the free
33:34 and the home
33:36 of the [singing]
33:38 brave.
33:40 [cheering]
33:47 >> [cheering]
33:47 >> person to your right.
33:50 Personal
33:55 answer.
34:14 Nashville basketball
34:23 [music]
34:25 live on the CWF and YouTube. It's the
34:28 Party Animals and the Texas Tailgator
34:30 from Nashville, Tennessee. Both these
34:32 teams were doing a little swag, a little
34:35 surfing, and now these squads will
34:37 square off with the Animals. An
34:38 opportunity to sweep the weekend. The
34:40 Texas Tailgator [music]
34:41 can salvage a game moments from now.
34:45 Brett Loftess. [music]
34:47 Both of these teams meeting in the
34:48 center of the field.
34:50 Wishing each other luck, sharing a
34:52 moment. A lot of respect between these
34:53 two clubous and the party animals. As
34:55 soon as they break, we'll take the field
34:56 first defensively. Let's say hello to
34:59 the boys in black and pink and how they
35:00 will line up. It's Chase AUP. The shorts
35:03 stop that you'll see with that big shiny
35:05 number next to his name, 64. That is his
35:08 trick [music] play count in 2026. He
35:10 paces the team. Reese Hampton though in
35:13 the outfield with 37 of them in [music]
35:17 2026. An impressive showing on his
35:19 campaign. Each of these guys will back
35:22 up tonight's starting pitcher be held.
35:26 He wears number 10. He's down on the
35:28 field right now still high-fiving,
35:30 handshakes, hugs. Those Texas tailgators
35:33 of these two teams have played less than
35:35 almost anybody else in the Banana Ball
35:37 Championship League this year. Brett
35:39 Hilton went complete game last weekend.
35:41 Wants to do the exact same against a
35:43 team that he has a whole lot of respect
35:44 for. Yeah, man. [cheering] These two
35:46 clubouses love and respect so much. I
35:47 don't know if there's two clubouses that
35:49 have this much respect for each other in
35:51 our entire sport. It's because spent so
35:53 much time with each other last year and
35:54 now they just come right back here. And
35:56 after the banana ball player draft last
35:57 November, these two club houses were
35:59 just bolstered by professional talent
36:02 and it's a professional environment when
36:04 these two teams meet each other.
36:05 Speaking of those Texas tailgates, let's
36:07 take a look at their batting lineup here
36:09 tonight and it starts with that guy. You
36:11 talk about a pros pro. Third round pick
36:13 in the 2019 Major League Baseball draft.
36:16 Zack Watson by the Baltimore Orioles out
36:18 of LSU. Since he's been in the leadoff
36:20 spot, man, this offense has really been
36:22 going. Kyle Martin, we talked about him
36:24 in the pre-show. just broke the single
36:25 season home run record last night on our
36:27 sport of banana ball. Taylor Justice
36:29 though the man touted as a defensive
36:31 catcher when he entered the sport of
36:32 banana ball. That's what he's always
36:34 been known as. But for now, he's playing
36:36 first base and he's hitting 400. He he
36:38 has been the glue that's held the middle
36:40 of this order together. And Jason Art
36:42 will get to start in the nine hole
36:44 tonight at second base. But Jonathan
36:46 Sunshine Looters will be playing there
36:48 defensively.
36:48 >> Yep. That is that designated fielder
36:50 rule that the Texas tailgator have used
36:52 to their advantage all season long. and
36:54 the last two nights winning the
36:55 equalizer point. Now, before we can get
36:57 going though, AJ Kersh, get these folks
37:00 ready to rock that clock.
37:01 >> I think this place is ready to get this
37:03 party started.
37:06 >> Nashville,
37:07 [screaming]
37:08 the moment you have been waiting for has
37:11 arrived. It is time to kick off the
37:14 greatest party [cheering]
37:16 in sports. We're going to count it down
37:18 to start that patented banana ball 2hour
37:22 time limit clock. Instead of zero, I
37:25 need each and every one of you to yell
37:27 start the party as loud as you can.
37:31 Let's count it down. Three, two, one.
37:39 >> Show time.
37:41 >> DRAKE TOOL WITH YOU ALONGSIDE Brett
37:42 Loftess. It has been a an honor to be a
37:45 tenant in this ballpark over the course
37:48 of the last 72 hours. Brett Helton takes
37:50 THE MOUND. ZACK WATSON at the dish and
37:52 we are underway. It's Banana Ball from
37:54 Music City.
38:01 [cheering]
38:02 Watson on the second pitch he sees gives
38:04 the fans their first opportunity to out.
38:08 Tell you what, Tol, his son has been a
38:10 topic of conversation and it is bad
38:13 tonight at this. I mean, we'll only have
38:14 it for about 15 [music] 20 minutes to
38:16 begin the ball game here. You can see
38:17 the reflection off of Zach Watson's face
38:19 in that box. That's going to be an early
38:21 storyline for these outfielders here at
38:23 First Horizon Park.
38:24 >> Yep.
38:25 >> For the batters, too, from where we sit
38:27 that is bearing down on the field. The
38:30 reflection off the downtown buildings
38:31 here in Nashville.
38:34 >> Watson pops it up. Will the Animals go
38:36 trick play? That's the attempt. There's
38:38 one.
38:40 And it is only one. Dramatic.
38:44 >> If Jason Swan or Chase Akov there had
38:46 gone in the hat or behind the back, it's
38:48 an opportunity for a double trick play.
38:50 But instead, I'd say lucky to pull one
38:52 off there.
38:54 >> Yeah, Drake. I I think that the thing
38:56 that I take exception with with some
38:58 people is is when they talk about tip
39:00 drills in this league, which is that's
39:01 what that trick play was, is maybe we'll
39:03 see another one. Here's Bryson Bloomer
39:06 going for the tip. He's got it. And
39:08 again, the not easy to do.
39:10 >> Yeah, a bit lackluster, but it pays off
39:13 both times.
39:20 >> LAST NIGHT, KYLE MARTIN SET the new
39:23 single season home run record in banana
39:25 ball with his 16th home run of the year
39:27 in the top of the ninth against Drew
39:29 Gillespie. And now he gets to face Brett
39:31 Help. It was so cool getting to talk to
39:33 him pregame today and he's just the most
39:35 humble home run king I think you'd ever
39:37 find in any version of banana ball or
39:39 baseball. He he he wants this team to
39:41 win the championship more than anything
39:42 else.
39:42 >> Yeah. You said, Kyle, were you thinking
39:44 about that that piece of history, that
39:46 record? He said no.
39:50 >> He said I was thinking about winning.
39:52 >> He told me he said I knew it was going
39:53 to happen at some point. And he he
39:54 didn't mean that in like an arrogant
39:56 way. He knew it was going to happen at
39:58 some point.
39:58 >> He's a gamer and more than anything he
40:00 wants his team to win.
40:03 But the dude has figured out what banana
40:05 is. He is He wants to be an OTT monster.
40:07 >> You see the his eyes right here? The
40:09 sun. I want to go right back to that.
40:10 The way the sun is beating off his face.
40:19 >> OH
40:21 MAN.
40:22 >> YEAH, MAN.
40:23 >> YEAH. SONET. That's coming right back up
40:25 for the fans.
40:26 >> You see it?
40:26 >> Oh my goodness. That is a a mirror on
40:30 the skyscrapers of Nashville right back
40:32 down to the batters box.
40:39 We've seen five balls hit straight up
40:42 into the air now.
40:43 >> Yeah.
40:44 >> Through the first three batters.
40:46 >> These two teams are praying for night
40:48 time to come sooner rather than later.
40:49 >> My goodness.
40:52 So, the sun is setting behind us. The
40:56 sun isn't even a factor in this. It's
40:59 the way it's bouncing [music] off the
41:01 buildings in the outfield. So that's the
41:04 sun behind the stadium, but is facing
41:06 towards the outfield.
41:09 >> Right. In this case, that would not
41:11 hamper.
41:12 >> That's good.
41:12 >> Did you SEE KMART'S REACTION TO THAT?
41:14 >> THAT'S GOOD.
41:15 >> He knew it more than anybody else in the
41:17 facility.
41:17 >> Thank you. Thank you. [laughter] Thank
41:19 you,
41:24 >> Helton. A payoff.
41:29 Kmart fouls. Yeah, the sun's going to
41:30 affect the outfielders as you said, and
41:32 it shouldn't affect the batter from
41:34 where it's coming in, but that
41:35 reflection's brutal.
41:37 >> Yeah, it's kind of tough up here in the
41:38 booth. Thankfully, we don't have to deal
41:40 with yellow banana balls in a yellow
41:42 sun.
41:42 >> Uhhuh.
41:46 >> What a battle this is. Brett Helton
41:48 wants to go complete game tonight.
41:51 Kyle Martin saying, "No, no, no. I want
41:52 you to exit this first inning with at
41:54 least 20 pitches."
41:57 Helton needs another good one.
42:00 Get a swing and a miss.
42:02 Kmart wins this battle.
42:05 Reese Hampton good range to get all the
42:06 way back to it, but his throw in goes
42:09 arai and Kyle Martin takes second base.
42:12 You know, tonight is just the second
42:14 time all year Kyle Martin has entered a
42:15 ball game hitting over 400. That's only
42:17 going to continue to increase after that
42:19 two out double there as he hands it off
42:21 to a guy who's been hitting over 400 for
42:23 the majority of the year. Jordan Bar,
42:26 rookie to rookie, but not your typical
42:29 rookies by any means.
42:32 >> A come trick play opportunity. Ooh,
42:34 struggle to gobble it up. Still goes
42:36 between the legs. Count it. Trick play
42:38 for the party animals.
42:41 Martin is stranded at second base. The
42:44 Animals
42:46 sit down Bar [cheering] and it's zero
42:49 runs at the top of the first for the
42:50 Texas Tailgator. That's who come out
42:52 defensively. Now
42:54 >> again, we say it every night. It's so
42:56 impressive what these tailgators do
42:58 behind their pitching staffs and keeping
43:00 it, you know, relatively the same, man,
43:02 is what we've seen so far this year.
43:05 José brother Gonzalez in right, Wadi in
43:07 left. Bar and Justice on the corners.
43:09 [music] Hussein looters up the middle
43:11 continuing to rack up those trick plays.
43:13 Taj Porter behind [music] the dish
43:15 making his now 28th straight start
43:18 behind the dish tonight. And he's
43:20 catching his best [music] friend, his
43:22 college teammate at Southern University,
43:25 the man in the middle playing the sweet
43:26 music all night on his CD, Christian
43:30 Davis. the 2025 and edible all-star has
43:32 109 trick plays in deuce this year. 6
43:36 and one as well. That is more wins than
43:38 any other starting pitcher has in the
43:41 sport. And CD man, much like Brett
43:43 Helton, is the guy that's going to go
43:45 longer than any other starting pitcher
43:47 for the Tailgator. You could see CD
43:48 would not be surprised you see him go
43:50 through the seventh inning tonight is he
43:51 if he's able to work efficiently against
43:53 this party animals lineup.
43:54 >> Also, much like Brett Hel, he is a pitch
43:57 to contact guy which leads to a lot of
43:58 trick plays. is what you want against
44:00 this party animals lineup. Let's say
44:02 hello to the black and pink led by Jake
44:04 Skull,
44:06 the MVP who's batting 330 on this
44:10 campaign, but a 449 OBP. It's Jason Swan
44:13 and Andy Cosgrove behind him. Thing is
44:16 in Banana Ball, you don't need anybody
44:18 past Jake Skull. If he hits a home run
44:20 against Christian Davis, it will walk
44:22 off the first inning and give the Party
44:23 Animals a 1 to zero lead over these
44:25 tailgators. in banana ball. Every inning
44:28 counts as a point.
44:30 You saw highlighted as well that 379
44:33 batting average for TJ Reeves is the
44:35 best on the team and he's a rookie. Got
44:37 to this sport full time four months ago.
44:40 >> Mhm.
44:46 Davis induces a big swing and a miss
44:49 from Skull.
44:55 >> Jake up the middle and past the diving
44:58 glove of Jonathan Sunshine Lutters.
45:00 Animals are 90 ft closer
45:03 >> to a one-point lead.
45:04 >> That's where X has to live is up the
45:06 middle right now. You know, Jake told me
45:07 today his swing has not been feeling
45:09 great. I'm like, dude, you're hitting
45:10 330 or something, right?
45:11 >> He's like, my swing hadn't been feeling
45:12 great. That's what you want to see if
45:14 you're the party animals. Anthony
45:15 Cormato, the hitting coach for the
45:16 Animals, been doing such a great job
45:18 with all these guys. As Skull takes off.
45:20 >> Porter throw down not in time.
45:25 >> Yeah, Skull in that conversation said,
45:26 "I I need to keep the bat down. I can't
45:29 keep popping. I I've got I got to stay
45:31 down on a fast ball."
45:33 As Skull just clinging to the bag over
45:35 there against Sunshine.
45:36 >> Great job. Stay on the bag, Bob.
45:39 >> Gives way to Jason Swan.
45:42 Swanie using the dish
45:46 356 average and a 452
45:50 OBP.
45:50 >> Is that good?
45:51 >> Yeah. Yeah. But his 17 ball four sprints
45:54 to eight strikeouts is even better.
45:58 Swan lifted high into left field.
46:01 Trick play coming. No.
46:04 Skull deaks the tag up. And that's where
46:07 the Texas tailgators would typically
46:08 have a trick play, but it would give
46:09 Skull the opportunity to tag up and
46:10 advance to third. And Skull, if he would
46:12 have seen a tip right there, he would
46:13 have been up 90 ft. That's that's high
46:15 IQ right there in trick play awareness
46:17 from Indiana Stanley. Jason Swan just
46:19 missed his first long ball of the year
46:21 right there, though.
46:22 >> You know, that's where the party animals
46:23 have seen a down tick in power this
46:25 year. Guys like Skull and Swan, but also
46:28 a down tick in strikeouts and the OBP
46:30 has stayed the same.
46:31 >> This guy's power, it's been showing off
46:34 recently. Four home runs on the year for
46:36 Andy Casgrove. All of them have come in
46:38 his last 12 games, including one this
46:40 weekend on Thursday night.
46:43 >> That was back in the first inning, which
46:45 was a walk-off. Yep.
46:50 >> Another popup.
46:53 This one finds its way to the outfield.
46:55 And oh my,
46:58 [cheering]
46:59 I'm not sure what Jos Gonzalez is going
47:02 for. And again, that might be the factor
47:04 of the sunset beating right down on
47:05 these guys. Uh
47:07 >> oh.
47:08 >> He was going to go he was going to go he
47:09 was going to go tip drill here and then
47:11 he overran it. That's exactly what
47:12 happened.
47:13 >> He wanted to go trick play. Got a little
47:14 too greedy. That might go down as a
47:16 trick play miss as opposed to an error.
47:18 >> I think it should go down as an E9 Drake
47:20 cuz he opened his glove up regularly.
47:22 >> You're right.
47:24 >> If he keeps that glove closed and goes
47:25 for the true trick, it's different. But
47:27 he he didn't.
47:31 >> And for now, error is the official
47:33 scoring call.
47:38 It's Cosgrove off first. Skull off
47:40 third. Hampton can walk it off. That's
47:43 what the Tailgators needed. Redemption
47:45 for Gonzalez.
47:47 Makes the catch cleanly. SKULL'S COMING
47:49 HOME. SKULL SLIDES IN. OH MY. THE BALL
47:53 CAME OUT OF TAJ PORTER'S GLOVE. SKULL
47:55 TAPS THE PLATE. HE'S SAFE. THE ANIMALS
47:58 WALK OFF THE FIRST. IT'S ONE POINT TO
48:00 ZERO.
48:02 And that's the story of this weekend so
48:04 far. The Texas Tailgator in the big
48:07 moments have blinked
48:10 too often and that's given the Party
48:11 Animals their first two wins of the
48:13 series and now a point early in this
48:16 one. Animals one, tailgator zero as we
48:20 go to the top of the second inning.
48:35 AJ Cash.
48:37 [cheering]
48:37 >> Well, fans, we all know hard work pays
48:40 off and we usually party animals have
48:42 won the inning.
48:43 >> I repeat, party animals have won the
48:45 inning
48:45 >> where you decide who's worked it out the
48:47 hardest. But because we're in Nashville
48:50 here tonight, we are calling it honky
48:53 tonka
48:55 donk. Introducing first at 50 YEARS OLD,
49:00 RYAN. GET AFTER IT, BRO.
49:16 HONESTLY, I'm impressed. I'm impressed.
49:19 Introducing next at 57 years old, Brian.
49:24 Let it rip.
49:43 You've clearly done this before. Last
49:46 but not least, at the only number more
49:48 fun than 67, 69 years old,
50:00 We are right back here on the CW app and
50:02 YouTube. It's the Party Animals and the
50:04 Texas Tailgators, Boys in Black and
50:06 Pink, lead the ball game by a score of
50:08 one point to zero as we go to the top
50:09 [music] of the second and be held. The
50:13 Party Animal starting pitcher joins us
50:14 on the microphone. Brett, hey.
50:17 >> Hey guys. Do you want to start off this
50:20 miked up by giving me a playbyplay of
50:24 the third straight night of a Texas
50:26 tailgator's waving flag walk up? This is
50:29 imperative. This is the biggest moment
50:31 of their lives and they cannot mess this
50:32 up BECAUSE IF THEY DO, WE'RE PROBABLY
50:35 going to do it again. So, we're really
50:37 hoping they can do this this World Cup
50:39 thing and then it's going to go super
50:41 viral. It's this is the third night in a
50:44 row the tailgator have tried the World
50:47 Cup walk up.
50:48 >> Yeah.
50:49 >> And
50:50 I've been told they didn't fail. It's
50:53 just the goal is all six Banana Ball
50:56 teams do the walk up this weekend and
50:57 they have to all get it in sync to bring
51:00 them together.
51:01 >> That makes sense. Which also means that
51:03 we're probably going to have to do it
51:04 again today. [laughter]
51:06 >> I I'm getting word from our producer
51:08 Chad Reese in my ears. Brett, if the
51:10 tailgator or party animals mess it up
51:12 tonight, we will be playing a fourth
51:14 game in Nashville tomorrow.
51:16 >> See, I'm down for that.
51:18 >> And you get to pitch. I'm being told
51:20 that fourth.
51:21 >> I'm even more in now.
51:22 >> You have to go nine innings, though.
51:24 That's the only caveat.
51:25 >> All right, I can do that.
51:27 >> Both nights.
51:29 >> Both nights.
51:29 >> 250 pitches within 24 hours.
51:32 >> See, that doesn't sound so bad when you
51:34 say it that way.
51:35 >> The tailgator have mobbed home plate. a
51:38 big team flag. Taylor Justice leads the
51:40 way out there.
51:43 >> I The first question I got for you is
51:44 about you, but since we're in this
51:47 pre-show, pre- Brett Helton
51:49 entertainment moment, tell me what it's
51:51 like playing the Texas Tailgators.
51:53 >> They're awesome, dude. First off,
51:54 they're I like their brand a lot and I
51:56 think everybody over there really fully
51:58 embraces it. So, that part's really
52:00 cool. But, we got a bunch of buddies
52:01 over there playing that and we haven't
52:03 seen them in ages. So, you don't play
52:05 them forever. You finally show up, it's
52:06 like, "All right, boys. We're back to
52:08 best friends. Let's see what we got. And
52:09 they compete, so that's fun.
52:12 >> It is Taylor Justice who comes to the
52:13 plate.
52:14 >> This guy loves to hunt Peter, so I'm
52:16 going to try and stay away from it.
52:17 Little dropping curveball. Oh, give me
52:20 that. I thought
52:22 >> Brett.
52:23 >> Yep.
52:23 >> Complete game twice in the last four
52:25 weeks. how um you KNOW [screaming]
52:30 [laughter]
52:33 that was like just that little not quite
52:35 barrel where it was like please don't
52:36 get to the outfield but it did
52:39 all right maybe see like that one I
52:41 probably should have thrown a fast ball
52:42 cutter didn't got a hit I might as well
52:43 throw a fast ball
52:45 >> um but but full games are fun it's like
52:47 it has to be a good mix of throwing well
52:51 fielding well and like keeping you like
52:52 pitch count down
52:54 >> so I really like that Because when it
52:56 all rolls together, it's like, you know
52:57 what, you might as well try it. And I
53:00 mean, that's what we live for. If you
53:01 can go a whole game, nothing else,
53:03 nothing else can top that, like
53:05 competitively. We're going back to back
53:07 change up. This one's low. Foul, foul,
53:10 foul. Catch it. Oh, they weren't paying
53:12 attention.
53:14 >> All right. 02 with two slow ones. Does
53:16 that mean I should go fast here?
53:18 >> No, you should go slow.
53:20 >> Extra extra slow.
53:21 >> Extra extra slow.
53:22 >> Ronnie wants fast.
53:24 >> Okay. Fast.
53:25 >> Brownie wants fast. I'm probably going
53:26 to go high leg kick. Hope he doesn't
53:29 steal.
53:30 >> Fast.
53:31 >> Yep.
53:32 >> It did the effect. Little heater in foul
53:35 ball.
53:36 >> I would like uh double play ball,
53:38 please. For 500.
53:39 >> What do you think will do that?
53:40 >> Something low.
53:41 >> Change up.
53:42 >> Ronnie thinks it's a fast two.
53:44 >> That's fine.
53:45 >> Okay.
53:47 >> NO. [screaming] THAT'S THE WORST CASE
53:49 EVER.
53:52 >> I told you change up there, Brett. Yeah.
53:54 You know what? Both times with two
53:56 strikes, I'm throwing the wrong pitch.
53:57 So, I should probably do something
53:58 different, huh?
53:59 >> Hey, first off, missed you. Second off,
54:02 played you guys 23 times this year and
54:04 then only two times in the first half.
54:06 What is it like this year with the the
54:07 variance of opponents that you've had to
54:09 pitch against?
54:10 >> You know, it is variance is a good word
54:12 because they're all the lineups are so
54:14 different that it's kind of fun. It's
54:15 like a totally different strategy,
54:17 different, you know,
54:20 oh yeah, he wants a fast ball. I'm going
54:21 to do it. Even though I know that Taj
54:23 was hitting fast ball
54:26 >> foul.
54:28 >> Oh,
54:29 >> good thing too because I was not ready
54:30 to cover first base.
54:31 >> Oh, that was
54:32 >> I don't know.
54:33 >> I That was fair, Brett.
54:35 >> Uh if it hit the safety bag, Drake, it
54:37 is foul.
54:38 >> I don't know if it hit the safety bag.
54:39 >> If the umpire says foul here, it means
54:42 it's actually foul.
54:44 >> That's chalk right there.
54:46 >> Yeah, Drake, that's foul.
54:47 >> Foul. That's fine by me. I'll take it.
54:50 Cuz now the triple play is still in
54:53 order.
54:54 >> Triple play is in order. Speaking of
54:55 that, if I get it back to me, I'm
54:56 probably going to go to second.
54:58 >> All right. Chasing by
54:59 >> change up again. I like it. All right.
55:04 >> That's fell again.
55:05 >> That was the same exact play. [laughter]
55:08 >> Yes, it was.
55:09 >> Brett, uh, what what's going on with the
55:11 clothes pins there? Uh,
55:12 >> I got clipped. It's like a new thing the
55:14 the are doing. So, they come up and like
55:16 clip you on the jersey or the hat or
55:18 something. So, I got clipped a lot.
55:20 Yankee hat with brim.
55:22 >> All right, he wants a fast ball in.
55:23 >> That's him.
55:24 >> I do not like this call. A
55:25 >> lot of fast balls, man.
55:26 >> But guess what?
55:28 >> I overcome.
55:32 >> Oh, almost got him.
55:34 >> But now,
55:35 >> change up loan away, Brad. I'm telling
55:37 you.
55:37 >> I don't know, bro.
55:38 >> If you may, if if if I may,
55:40 >> I think I'm going to go cutter. I don't
55:41 think he's going to call it, but I'll
55:42 probably have to shake to it.
55:44 >> Top of the zone. Shake to it.
55:52 There we go. We got it. Now,
55:56 >> do you keep up with pitch count at all
55:58 in these complete games? Do you care?
56:00 >> No, I just kind of throw and then
56:02 sometimes you just kind of find out like
56:03 halfway through or something, but
56:05 generally I don't really hear much about
56:07 it and then I just kind of throw.
56:12 >> That's so bad. Come on.
56:14 >> Is it 3-2?
56:16 >> It's 3-2. Yeah. Yeah.
56:17 >> All right. Barrel down.
56:19 >> Yep.
56:20 >> Two guys on.
56:22 No walkies.
56:24 >> Four sprints.
56:26 >> Just the old fast ball. Hope he's not on
56:30 time.
56:35 >> Okay, they're loaded. [screaming]
56:37 So again, still an opportunity for
56:40 something on the ground here. And some
56:42 good news.
56:43 >> Yes.
56:43 >> And you've been doing this a lot. I
56:45 don't have a metric to back it up, but
56:46 you've been the guy who's gotten out a
56:47 few jams a time or two.
56:49 >> Yeah, the name of the game is just
56:51 getting out of what you start. So, I
56:52 obviously started this giving up three
56:53 hits in a row.
56:54 >> Well, you've given up the three softest
56:56 singles of all time. Now, you get to
56:57 face your former teammate.
56:58 >> Yeah, singles are singles, though. I
57:00 think he's probably going to hunt a fast
57:02 ball. And I'm going to give it to him.
57:03 But I'm going to give it to him in a
57:04 spot that he cannot hammer it down and
57:06 away. Really pinpointed.
57:09 >> Oh,
57:11 >> it wasn't down, but it was away. And
57:12 that's why I got away with it. Indiana
57:14 Stanley.
57:15 >> Probably going to go cutter. I like
57:16 that. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He wants
57:19 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
57:21 >> All right. All right. All right. All
57:22 right. Going cutter.
57:25 All right. 02 again. Uh
57:29 >> strike out. Double play. Strike out.
57:31 Double play.
57:32 >> Strikeout's big. I should probably chase
57:33 it here, shouldn't I?
57:34 >> I think so. Yeah.
57:36 >> I know you're a contact guy, but
57:37 >> he's happy to hear.
57:39 >> Yeah. Brownie's Brown's feeling good.
57:41 I'm going to go off the plate and uh he
57:43 probably won't swing in it, but I hope
57:44 he does.
57:49 >> Swing the miss
57:50 >> or I'll throw it right down the middle
57:51 and he'll be LIKE
57:56 >> chugga chugga choo choo.
58:07 [music]
58:08 >> Little red light, green light dance for
58:09 Brett. Help. Get low.
58:16 >> Jason just stands on and watches, ready
58:18 to
58:19 >> take his AB.
58:19 >> He's probably thinking about how this
58:20 isn't my July.
58:22 >> Chase Auff also stands on and watches.
58:27 >> Chosen thinking about how he's ready to
58:29 turn a double play perhaps.
58:30 >> Yeah. Yeah.
58:31 >> Jason for sure
58:33 >> is hunting haters here.
58:35 >> Yeah,
58:35 >> for sure going first pitch cutter. He's
58:38 the coach rack of guitarists and
58:40 singers.
58:41 >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
58:45 >> He's your donut batter, but I don't know
58:46 if I want a strike out.
58:48 >> No, me neither.
58:49 >> I like that first pitch a lot. I'll
58:51 probably do it again. Same thing. But
58:53 the first one was so perfect. It's hard
58:55 to throw two perfect pitches in a row.
58:58 >> Glad I did.
58:59 >> My gosh. [laughter]
59:01 >> You know what? Fine. Whatever. Strike
59:02 them out. I That's fine. It's up to you.
59:05 >> I went cutter cutter. I'm going heater
59:07 off the plate away. And
59:15 [cheering]
59:16 >> yeah, heater off the plate away. Going
59:18 to throw it really, really, really hard.
59:19 I hope he's late.
59:23 >> Ha. Hey, fine spot to miss.
59:27 >> You know, a good pitcher probably would
59:28 have just thrown three in a row and I
59:30 did not. So, can I throw three?
59:34 Peter away. He likes it again. I also
59:36 like it again cuz guess what? Perfect
59:39 pitch right here.
59:42 >> See you.
59:43 >> Got him looking.
59:48 [cheering]
59:48 >> And that's donuts.
59:50 >> You just won donuts FOR THE PEOPLE.
59:52 >> DONUTS FOR THE WORLD. [screaming]
59:55 >> Or the 10,000 people here at First
59:56 Horizon Park.
59:57 >> No. No. The world.
59:59 >> Donuts. Donuts.
1:00:00 >> If one man could get donuts for the
1:00:02 world, it's Brett. Help.
1:00:03 >> It would be. That's Yeah. Dumped in
1:00:05 donuts for the world.
1:00:06 >> Okay. Can we get a popup here? We've
1:00:08 seen a lot of those early.
1:00:09 >> What do you think is going to be the
1:00:10 pop-up pitch? Ronnie wants Heater away.
1:00:12 I also want Heater away.
1:00:13 >> I want Heater away.
1:00:14 >> I'm going to throw this kind of hard.
1:00:16 Um, don't care if it's a strike. Really?
1:00:20 >> That was for effect. Now I'm going
1:00:22 definitely right to cutter.
1:00:23 >> That was for effect.
1:00:32 YEAH, [screaming] BUDDY. Come on. Hey,
1:00:36 were we talking about that jelly in the
1:00:37 jam? Jelly in the jam. Peanut butter
1:00:39 jelly. Peanut butter [laughter] jelly
1:00:41 jam.
1:00:42 >> You're a mad man.
1:00:44 >> That's only 23 pitches so far on your
1:00:46 night, too. Brett, keep it going, Boss
1:00:48 Hog. Love you.
1:00:49 >> You bet, boys.
1:00:53 >> That is Brett Helden on the CW app and
1:00:55 YouTube.
1:01:06 Make
1:01:08 some [screaming]
1:01:09 noise. [groaning]
1:01:24 Heat.
1:01:33 Heat.
1:01:35 [cheering]
1:01:43 Heat. Heat.
1:02:12 Man, that guy is a mad man. That guy
1:02:15 that guy doesn't exist. That guy is a
1:02:16 figment of my imagination. I dreamt up
1:02:18 the red health one day.
1:02:21 I don't know how he does that stuff,
1:02:23 man. Hey, YouTube. Bye, YouTube.
1:02:32 Banana Ball on the CW app is brought to
1:02:34 you by PNC Bank. Brilliantly boring
1:02:38 since 1865.
1:02:41 Drake toll with you alongside Brett
1:02:43 Loftus. [music] And that's a balloon
1:02:45 farty.
1:02:46 >> That's cool, man.
1:02:47 >> That's really cool. Out in left field
1:02:49 here in Nashville.
1:02:51 I've been asked in the past. Yep.
1:02:58 >> You going to
1:03:00 >> Oh, finish the thought.
1:03:01 >> Yeah.
1:03:02 >> I've been asked in the past
1:03:05 what came first, the party animals logo
1:03:07 or farty?
1:03:09 And it's actually the party animals
1:03:11 logo. We found farty later on. Where?
1:03:14 The woods, the forest to be more exact.
1:03:17 Uh he is one of now multiple
1:03:22 >> mascots who are former orphans
1:03:24 >> as is Grub the Gator official mascot the
1:03:27 Texas tailgator
1:03:28 >> that we know of to this point. It is
1:03:29 Grub and Farty who are the orphaned
1:03:32 mascots of Banana Ball.
1:03:36 >> Swing and a miss from TJ Reeves.
1:03:38 Christian Davis
1:03:39 >> CD playing the sweet music man. Able to
1:03:41 get out number one here in the bottom of
1:03:43 the second.
1:03:45 And uhoh,
1:03:46 >> I see running out to the field.
1:03:49 >> Oh no, with a flag.
1:03:51 >> I can't take any more of it.
1:04:01 >> I'm telling you, Brad,
1:04:04 I have taken
1:04:07 three benadryil today, which is lower
1:04:10 than my normal. It's not yet. Usually
1:04:12 it's like a four or a fiverr,
1:04:14 >> which is still way too much.
1:04:15 >> But man,
1:04:19 >> they're going to wake me up from a coma.
1:04:21 And I'm going to say there was a
1:04:22 pitching mascot
1:04:25 who married up in an orphan. I'm going
1:04:28 to say there was a there's a a Red Sox
1:04:31 World Series champion that played and
1:04:33 there were two hours and they were
1:04:35 waving flags. And
1:04:36 >> you know what I'm going to say? Give me
1:04:38 sweet T. Give me high.
1:04:40 singing Forever Young.
1:04:44 And the doctor's going to say, "What?"
1:04:46 He's going to say, "WHEN I GET OLDER, I
1:04:49 WILL BE." AND THEY'RE GOING TO SAY,
1:04:51 "BACK IN A COMA. PUT THEM BACK IN A
1:04:52 COMA."
1:04:55 >> We have that conversation in the front
1:04:57 office a lot about how would you explain
1:04:58 this to the aliens? How would you if you
1:05:01 were abducted or you woke up tomorrow
1:05:02 from this dream,
1:05:06 how do you how do you begin to describe
1:05:08 it?
1:05:10 >> [laughter]
1:05:10 >> Yes.
1:05:11 >> Yes.
1:05:12 >> This is the fifth time we've seen this
1:05:14 walk up on the weekend
1:05:18 and the YouTube chat's having a field
1:05:20 day with it, man. They are.
1:05:21 >> They're having a field day.
1:05:22 >> Somebody said, "Let's hear the rules
1:05:24 again. [laughter]
1:05:26 >> Run the rules back in the in Milwaukee.
1:05:30 I don't I don't remember what happened.
1:05:31 We ran the rules three times
1:05:35 and I [laughter] don't remember why we
1:05:37 had to."
1:05:38 That's boom, baby. Jay Jacob.
1:05:43 >> He's getting hot and everybody's talking
1:05:46 about it.
1:05:48 Boom, baby.
1:05:53 That's like the Pico Scala accidentally
1:05:55 did a book it.
1:05:57 >> YOU WERE WATCHING THAT DOCUMENTARY LAST
1:05:58 NIGHT.
1:05:58 >> YEAH, IT WAS. YEAH, that was crazy
1:06:01 watching.
1:06:02 >> Reverse it
1:06:03 >> on E60 hearing booket from Bo Scal.
1:06:05 >> Bo just say book it.
1:06:06 >> Yeah. Did I just say boom, baby?
1:06:09 >> You [laughter] did. And everybody's
1:06:11 talking about it.
1:06:12 >> And everybody's talking about it. That
1:06:14 ball that balls off a white Nissan
1:06:16 Maxima
1:06:18 >> and it's got Arkansas plates.
1:06:24 >> Oh, T-Bone. Oh, IS THERE A FIRST
1:06:27 BASEMAN? YEAH.
1:06:30 >> WOW. HUSTLE play from Taylor Justice and
1:06:33 Jonathan Sunshine. Looters deep in the
1:06:35 hole.
1:06:35 >> First book of the night. Sunshine, throw
1:06:38 it to the bag. Not the player there. And
1:06:41 he does so right there. Taylor Justice,
1:06:43 great job getting that right foot back
1:06:44 down. But does put JC Auff in scoring
1:06:48 position for Fish.
1:06:51 I mean, I used to like the song too,
1:06:53 man. When I get older, Kanan, I had it.
1:06:55 It was 2010 World Cup. I had it on my
1:06:58 iPod Nano.
1:07:00 >> Yep. Which didn't come out in Arkansas
1:07:02 until 2015, by the way.
1:07:10 The iPod Nano that is the song was still
1:07:12 2010.
1:07:16 Noah Fischer big hack back to the
1:07:19 dugout.
1:07:22 CD
1:07:24 big time strike out right there to keep
1:07:27 it at just one to nothing.
1:07:30 >> Play that.
1:07:32 >> See that spin on that ball. play that
1:07:35 sweet music, man. Let's send it out on
1:07:37 the field as our good friend Maddie
1:07:38 Warren has somebody.
1:07:41 >> I have multiple somebodyies, you guys.
1:07:43 Um, three pitchers that have been kept
1:07:45 very, very busy. And all three of them
1:07:47 who have pitched this weekend already
1:07:49 and are probably off or maybe have
1:07:51 pitched and might be ready to go. So,
1:07:53 fellas, how how are the arms feeling?
1:07:56 And, uh, how do days like this usually
1:07:57 look for you?
1:07:59 >> The arm feels great. We're out here
1:08:00 dancing and it's a great way to recover.
1:08:04 My arm feels terrible. I will not be
1:08:06 dancing and I have my cleats just in
1:08:08 case I need to get in that bat.
1:08:12 >> You know, it feels great to be off and
1:08:14 only have to worry about entertaining
1:08:15 the fans. Uh, we love pitching, but we
1:08:17 got that out of the way. We did well and
1:08:18 now it's time to dance.
1:08:22 >> And dancing they are. They're also
1:08:23 throwing donuts, so I don't really think
1:08:25 the arms are getting that much of a of a
1:08:27 break. Sean Fluke, how's your arm
1:08:29 feeling?
1:08:30 >> Oh, we're good. And we only throw 14
1:08:31 pitches an inning. So, I mean, we can go
1:08:33 out today if we wanted to.
1:08:35 >> And they're entertaining the fans
1:08:37 nonetheless. You guys, part of animals
1:08:39 pitching staff. It's hard to argue with
1:08:40 them.
1:08:42 >> Wow. Maddie, thank you very much. Sean
1:08:45 Flute, well, we only throw 14 pitches an
1:08:46 inning last night, so any of us need any
1:08:48 of us. We're here. We can pitch
1:08:50 >> hanging out.
1:08:51 >> Bullpen Dave. Johnny Holstep last night
1:08:54 with the party elms. And a piece of why
1:08:55 >> I prefer the term arm bar.
1:08:58 >> Wow.
1:08:58 >> Yep.
1:08:59 >> Yep. We're we're already
1:09:01 we're already ste we're already stepping
1:09:04 all over that sacred hallowed ground of
1:09:06 the armbos
1:09:08 bullpen. Armbar is a bit nicer to our
1:09:11 boine friends.
1:09:14 >> Um
1:09:16 the reason the party animals went with
1:09:18 that whole staff approach yesterday was
1:09:19 the expectation that Helton could go a
1:09:21 complete game today.
1:09:23 >> And and talking to all those guys, they
1:09:25 all feel ready to go today. I mean
1:09:26 that's what they just said. I mean,
1:09:29 they're ready to go, but they also know
1:09:30 when you're throwing Brett Helton, he
1:09:31 can throw nine innings like nobody else
1:09:33 can in the history of an animal.
1:09:35 >> Five of the nine complete games in the
1:09:36 history of this sport have come from
1:09:38 that man on the bump right now.
1:09:39 >> You know, and and the three-game
1:09:40 weekends favor teams like the party
1:09:42 animals and the Texas Tailgators have
1:09:44 three bonafide starters.
1:09:46 >> You can treat this animals pitching
1:09:48 staff. Watson ropes one foul almost like
1:09:51 a collegiate pitching staff.
1:09:54 >> Yeah. and and Zack Watson here
1:09:57 >> facing Brett Helton behind one and two.
1:09:59 Back to the top of the order here.
1:10:00 Second time through the order.
1:10:01 Tailgators get really really good. Jake
1:10:02 told this year.
1:10:04 >> Swing and a miss from Zack Wadi Watson.
1:10:07 >> Brett Helton
1:10:09 >> through a complete game
1:10:11 >> against the Loco Beach Loco Nuts last
1:10:14 weekend.
1:10:15 >> Two strikeouts in nine innings, 27 outs.
1:10:19 >> He has n
1:10:20 >> the Cocoa Beach Locon Nuts. You know
1:10:21 them?
1:10:22 >> I don't. He has two strikeouts
1:10:25 through two and a third innings tonight.
1:10:28 >> The Loco Beach Coconuts, I think, is
1:10:29 what you were looking for.
1:10:30 >> Oh, you're close, but no cigar.
1:10:39 >> Where's your Yeah. What?
1:10:40 >> There's just going to say interesting
1:10:41 defense here from the party animals.
1:10:43 Chase Auff and Mikey Ballard are playing
1:10:45 all the way out on the outfield grass
1:10:46 here against Nick Lopez.
1:10:48 Yeah, the shift is a odd one against
1:10:52 Nick Lopez. Foul ball.
1:10:54 >> Where's my what?
1:10:56 >> Where's your prime time coach, man?
1:10:59 >> Where's your prime time coach?
1:11:00 >> I like Mike Vasis, twotime banana ball
1:11:03 champion.
1:11:03 >> Joe Michelick, 40 years in minor league
1:11:05 ball.
1:11:10 >> You saw Mikey Ballard stand on the
1:11:12 outfield there. Ooh, tough play. CHOSEN
1:11:14 CHASE. STILL WANTS THE TRICK BLADE AND
1:11:16 HE'S GOT IT. OH MY GUTSY FOR THE SHORTS
1:11:20 STOP. HE DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO do that,
1:11:22 BUT HE STILL DID IT AND SUCCESSFULLY.
1:11:24 >> And somehow Lopey almost beat the shift
1:11:26 right there.
1:11:27 >> Beat the what against chosen?
1:11:32 >> The shift.
1:11:33 >> The shift. Get your mind out of the
1:11:35 gutter.
1:11:36 >> Remember that one time we had a real
1:11:37 goofy broadcast on the CW app?
1:11:44 >> I love the CW app.
1:11:45 >> Uhhuh.
1:11:46 Yeah, your second favorite sport is loud
1:11:49 and clear on there right now.
1:11:51 >> The NASCAR O'Reilly auto part series.
1:11:53 >> Yep.
1:11:54 >> They had like a 57minute red flag.
1:11:56 >> Here in a couple weeks they'll be in
1:11:57 Soma.
1:11:58 >> Yeah, I'll tell you about it a little
1:12:00 bit.
1:12:00 >> Wine country.
1:12:01 >> I'll tell you about it a little bit.
1:12:02 Don't you worry.
1:12:07 >> Oh my shift on Mikey Ballard. Trick play
1:12:10 from the outfield.
1:12:14 That formula works now against Kyle
1:12:15 Martin. And it's three up, three down
1:12:17 for Brett Helton. A quick inning for a
1:12:19 guy that wants to go CG.
1:12:21 Animals still lead it one point to zero
1:12:23 and can add to it right here on the CW
1:12:26 app and YouTube.
1:12:38 We want you to proceed with caution
1:12:39 because you are approaching an animal
1:12:42 cross. We're going to have a mic up
1:12:44 coming up for all you guys
1:12:45 >> who's dressed like a sheep. WE'VE GOT
1:12:47 JACOB DRESSED LIKE a pig and we've got
1:12:50 Jackson
1:12:53 when I say go. These three rabbit boots
1:12:56 are going to race around the dirt all
1:13:00 the way toward home place but they have
1:13:02 to run the animals they are. You worked
1:13:06 really hard for this moment.
1:13:08 >> I want you to know I'm proud of you
1:13:10 >> and you deserve this. Thank you. [music]
1:13:15 >> Yes. And
1:13:16 >> No. Yeah. We're talking to each other.
1:13:18 >> Off to an early lead.
1:13:20 >> No. No. Brent's about to live out a
1:13:22 childhood dream up here in the booth.
1:13:23 His pants are off to be fair.
1:13:25 >> And you just listen here.
1:13:27 >> He's Derek Clinting right now.
1:13:29 [laughter]
1:13:30 >> IS RUSHING.
1:13:30 >> Hook my heart about
1:13:35 yours. It's not prefer the term Jason
1:13:37 Ardan.
1:13:38 >> It's a complete blow.
1:13:39 >> Take his pants off.
1:13:40 >> Jackson is your winner.
1:13:43 >> Patrick Bry. I've seen him with his
1:13:46 pants off. He was a baby. He was Cupid
1:13:49 >> in like one of the first ever Bananas
1:13:51 videos on social media.
1:13:52 >> Ain't that crazy?
1:13:54 >> Yes.
1:13:55 >> He's been around for a long time, man.
1:14:00 >> All right. You ready?
1:14:01 >> I'm so ready.
1:14:02 >> Not you, Aunt. Listen. Brett's about to
1:14:04 make [music] history. Take a sip of
1:14:06 water.
1:14:07 Have some caffeine, man.
1:14:10 Little Brett, nine-year-old Brett
1:14:12 Loftess, man.
1:14:13 >> Two-year-old Brett Loftess
1:14:14 >> would be soiling himself. Oh, here it
1:14:18 comes. 7 seconds, buddy. You got this. I
1:14:21 can't look.
1:14:26 Next Saturday, the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto
1:14:29 Parts Series heads to California wine
1:14:32 country and take on the challenge of
1:14:34 Soma. Watch as the top drivers battle in
1:14:37 one of racing's toughest road course
1:14:39 test. [music]
1:14:40 Don't miss a second of pure raw racing
1:14:43 from Sonoma next Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
1:14:45 Eastern, 1:30 p.m. Pacific, only on the
1:14:49 CW. [screaming]
1:14:51 Back here, Nashville, Tennessee, the
1:14:53 party animals and the Texas Tailgator of
1:14:56 Bronson Ball home at the plate.
1:14:58 >> And now, Anthony Cormato, the hitting
1:15:00 coach of these boys in black and pink,
1:15:02 is hopeful that this mic dump is pretty
1:15:04 short and his guys can walk this thing
1:15:06 off and pleasure to have you on the mic.
1:15:08 Grateful to have you here. Honored to
1:15:10 have you here as as a guy that has
1:15:12 helped reinvent bats, not just for the
1:15:14 party animals, but across this league.
1:15:15 You've told me before, man, if it's Dale
1:15:17 Francis Jr. or if it's Jordan Bar that's
1:15:20 got a hitting question. You want this
1:15:22 league to win. What gives you that
1:15:24 mindset?
1:15:25 >> Oh, I appreciate that. Thank you very
1:15:27 much. And before I answer that, boys,
1:15:28 thank you for having me on. First time,
1:15:30 long time. Um, but with that, it's a
1:15:33 this is a this is always a team game.
1:15:36 Always a team game. And we want to make
1:15:37 sure that, you know, if we're all doing
1:15:40 this together, we could continue to grow
1:15:42 this sport and uh continue to make it
1:15:43 >> right there. I stood right there.
1:15:45 >> Got a baby. continue to grow the sport
1:15:48 and continue to go worldwide with it.
1:15:50 >> Originally was called the hit by pitch.
1:15:53 >> Our home plate umpire Hunter Ives is
1:15:54 saying he leaned into it there. What did
1:15:56 you say?
1:15:57 >> I that sounded like he got elbow guard
1:15:58 to me.
1:16:00 >> Sound like he got elbow guard and there
1:16:02 was no lean.
1:16:03 >> No, it definitely got all elbow guard,
1:16:05 but I think the whole plan umpire saying
1:16:06 he leaned into it just ever so slightly.
1:16:08 >> I'll tell you what, Bronson Ballhome is
1:16:09 not looking to get hit. He's trying to
1:16:11 >> No, he's not. You're right. He's not
1:16:12 leaning in. I think what he did is he
1:16:14 goes knee bend squat and it looked
1:16:16 optically. I agree.
1:16:17 >> Yeah, that's and I don't think he's I
1:16:19 don't think he's leaning in there and it
1:16:20 doesn't matter. Hey, what ball doesn't
1:16:22 what?
1:16:22 >> Ball don't lie, baby.
1:16:24 >> Ronnie will hold up at first base, the
1:16:26 ball, four sprint and a free 90, baby.
1:16:28 >> And here's what I want to ask you cuz
1:16:30 now you got a guy at the desk who has
1:16:32 three walk-offs in this series so far.
1:16:33 So, we might not have long with you. You
1:16:35 don't just help out your party animals.
1:16:37 You help out all six teams here in
1:16:39 Banana Ball. What is it like building
1:16:40 relationships with the hitters
1:16:42 throughout the sport?
1:16:44 >> Uh it's honestly a blessing. Um when it
1:16:46 comes to hitting, you know, you got to
1:16:48 be able to you got to be able to know
1:16:49 your guys and uh especially with our
1:16:51 league, I try to try to create a
1:16:53 relationship and build a bridge with
1:16:54 every guy. I want to be a resource. I've
1:16:56 been around a long time. Um I have a lot
1:16:59 of knowledge. I've been blessed to be
1:17:00 around so many big leaguers. So many
1:17:02 guys have played minor league baseball
1:17:03 from childhood all the way up through my
1:17:05 pro career. and uh that boy. And uh my
1:17:09 my my [music] whole thing as a coach is
1:17:12 everybody gave me the knowledge.
1:17:13 Everybody gave me the time and the
1:17:15 experience that they had and my job is
1:17:17 just pass that knowledge down. So
1:17:19 >> we we've given you a couple questions
1:17:21 here about the rest of the league. Let's
1:17:22 give you questions about the party
1:17:24 animals right after this. So we pause
1:17:26 for a Nate Teller walk up.
1:17:29 [screaming and cheering]
1:17:41 That can't be good for your eyes.
1:17:44 >> Wow.
1:17:45 >> Who sings it? Brett Loftess.
1:17:48 >> Cherry Warren.
1:17:53 >> You know, like Matty Warren, the
1:17:55 sideline reporter.
1:18:03 Oh, they still got telly. Oh, no.
1:18:06 >> Two more pies.
1:18:08 >> One pie.
1:18:10 >> Two pie. Oh,
1:18:13 >> and the third pie.
1:18:18 >> That's good.
1:18:21 >> Ian shrimp on the sticks. That looked
1:18:23 like a early 2000s, late 90s VH1 music
1:18:29 video. And the idea straight from the
1:18:30 mind of Avery Hughes, Jake Skull's
1:18:33 fiance.
1:18:34 >> When he run in front of you, don't run
1:18:35 him off.
1:18:36 >> There's now pie all over the field.
1:18:38 Skull comes to plate. And guys like Jake
1:18:41 Skull, Reese Hampton, how do you coach
1:18:44 these old dogs who've been around for a
1:18:45 long time just like you?
1:18:46 >> You know, these these guys have been
1:18:48 around a long time. They're
1:18:49 professional, but the thing is they're
1:18:50 coachable. And I can say that about the
1:18:52 rest of the boys that we have here.
1:18:53 They're coachable. They're hungry for
1:18:54 knowledge.
1:18:56 That boy, they're hungry for knowledge.
1:18:58 They want to be good at their craft. So,
1:19:00 yeah, you know, they've given me the
1:19:02 respect and they've given me the uh the
1:19:04 the passage to give them everything I
1:19:05 got. So, it's the same. It's the same
1:19:07 for every guy. Everybody's different.
1:19:09 You got to develop different
1:19:10 relationships, have different
1:19:11 conversations. You got to know their
1:19:12 personalities, but they're all
1:19:13 receptive. They're all open-minded.
1:19:15 They're all approachable. It's it's a
1:19:16 beautiful thing. I'm I'm actually kind
1:19:18 of spoiled. I
1:19:19 >> I want to ask you a question again. you
1:19:21 you've helped build these bats to party
1:19:22 animals and get them where they are. But
1:19:24 I've said this team is the best squad in
1:19:27 Banana Ball. Skull, a pop-up trip play
1:19:29 opportunity and couple of them for Texas
1:19:31 for the Texas Tailgator. And and I've
1:19:34 said a couple times, this is the best
1:19:35 team in the league without a bat in its
1:19:37 hands, that approach. What does the word
1:19:40 patience mean? What the Party Animals
1:19:42 do?
1:19:42 >> Yeah, that's that's basically our
1:19:44 philosophy. You know, we we we prepare
1:19:46 well. These guys, we keep hitters
1:19:47 notebooks. We're watching video, you
1:19:49 know, and everything. Everything for us,
1:19:51 it's a it's a it's a it's a whole team
1:19:53 game. It's not just one one guy doing
1:19:55 the whole work, you know. We're we got
1:19:57 plate discipline as you just saw there
1:19:59 from Shwani.
1:20:01 [laughter]
1:20:01 >> Good. Good. Good. We saw it.
1:20:04 >> Yep. So, uh, you know, it's it's plate
1:20:06 discipline. It's pitch selection. You
1:20:07 know, it's did you get a good pitch of
1:20:08 hit and did you do something with it?
1:20:09 That's that's the only thing hitters got
1:20:10 to ask themselves. So, you know, we're
1:20:13 trying to be we're trying to patient at
1:20:14 the plate, selective, and get a pitch to
1:20:17 drive and just get it to the next guy.
1:20:18 This is a team effort, and these guys
1:20:20 buy into it.
1:20:23 >> Swan facing at 02 against CD.
1:20:27 >> Ball gets away from Taj Porter and Mark
1:20:28 Smith retreats to second base. Pickle.
1:20:31 >> Smith.
1:20:33 [cheering]
1:20:34 >> It's safe at third. BARF DIDN'T TAG HIM.
1:20:37 SIR, SIR, SIR, SIR, HERE. We just need
1:20:41 marking.
1:20:42 >> The tailgator will certainly challenge.
1:20:44 Yeah, Joe Mle throws the cowboy hat. He
1:20:46 wants to take a look at it.
1:20:48 >> We've had some interesting calls this
1:20:49 weekend.
1:20:50 >> Yeah, we have. We've never d moment here
1:20:52 in Banana Land, baby. I'll tell you
1:20:53 that.
1:20:53 >> And I don't want to be impatient to
1:20:56 judge. We'll take a look at this first
1:20:58 play with Chosen last night at second
1:21:00 where he drug his foot on the bag right
1:21:01 here. Let's take a look at this.
1:21:03 >> You're looking at it too, An on the
1:21:04 video board here. Let's see if this
1:21:05 angle tells us anything.
1:21:07 >> Somebody give me an angle.
1:21:08 >> I'm not seeing. There's nothing
1:21:09 definitive that the club hits. No, not
1:21:11 right. Not that angle. Yeah, this is
1:21:13 probably going to be the one.
1:21:14 >> Did he clip his jersey is what I'm
1:21:16 trying to look at here.
1:21:17 >> Safe.
1:21:17 >> Oh, you can't see I can't tangibly see
1:21:21 glove on jersey.
1:21:22 >> Safe there, boys.
1:21:23 >> If we can go slow, extra slow here.
1:21:25 >> And again, that's not that's not the
1:21:27 angle.
1:21:28 >> No,
1:21:29 >> this is going to be if we can go really
1:21:30 slow, you might be able to see the
1:21:32 jersey get clipped. That's the only
1:21:34 thing you're going to see.
1:21:35 >> And I can't definitively say Mark weighs
1:21:38 156 lbs. If he weighs 157, he's out.
1:21:41 >> Yeah.
1:21:43 >> He's safe, boys. There's not enough turn
1:21:46 that.
1:21:46 >> No, that call has to stand. I agree,
1:21:47 Ann.
1:21:48 >> Yeah.
1:21:48 >> And the umpire had the best seat in the
1:21:49 house. Reviewing it
1:21:52 >> now in real time. If I'm third base
1:21:54 umpire Chris Walker, I don't know how I
1:21:55 see that.
1:21:56 >> Yeah, correct. Good call. Yep. Yep.
1:21:59 >> It's the hardest job in sports, boys.
1:22:00 It's not easy being an umpire. I'll tell
1:22:01 you that.
1:22:04 They're taking their time with this.
1:22:05 They [music] got 3 seconds left of the
1:22:06 challenge. They got to figure it out. If
1:22:08 it takes you over a minute to determine,
1:22:09 that usually means there's nothing
1:22:11 definitive enough to reverse a call.
1:22:14 >> Upon video review, the call on the
1:22:17 field. Here we go.
1:22:19 >> All stands.
1:22:21 >> Here we go.
1:22:21 >> Animals dodge a bullet. Mark Smith
1:22:23 swipes a bag and a Jason Swan at the
1:22:26 plate. Underrated is the word I've used
1:22:28 about him quite a bit. And I think
1:22:31 underrated is a word that applies for
1:22:32 you as well. The the love that is not
1:22:34 given publicly as Joe Miklet gets a
1:22:36 couple words in. We don't give enough
1:22:38 love publicly to what you do and what
1:22:39 you brought to this brand. That word
1:22:41 underrated. Do you embrace that?
1:22:43 >> Yeah, I definitely do. That's been my
1:22:45 whole career. I was always undersized.
1:22:46 Um had some tools just never going to be
1:22:49 denied. And uh that's a lot of what we
1:22:52 have here with the party animals. These
1:22:54 guys, they don't fight. You could see
1:22:55 they're in the game all the way through
1:22:56 nine innings. They don't give up. They
1:22:58 don't crack under pressure. They don't
1:22:59 flinch. So, you talk about a guy like
1:23:01 Swany, you know, one of the best hitters
1:23:04 in the league. Consistent. Everything he
1:23:07 does is
1:23:08 >> play to play. Oh my goodness. Mark Smith
1:23:11 makes it interesting.
1:23:13 >> And Smith is [laughter] tagged out on a
1:23:16 cat and mouse game.
1:23:17 >> So, it comes back around and benefits
1:23:19 the Texas Tailgator with Martin going
1:23:22 home.
1:23:22 >> That's interesting though. I I mean,
1:23:24 Jordan Bars going home right there when
1:23:26 you could have rolled two. I know
1:23:27 Swani's a plus runner. That's smart.
1:23:29 Smart decision nonetheless. First and
1:23:31 second now and a guy who's been hotter
1:23:32 than hot this weekend, Andy Cosgrove at
1:23:34 the dish. And I want to ask you
1:23:36 something you and I talk about all the
1:23:38 time. This league is a hitters league.
1:23:42 >> What does that make you feel when you
1:23:43 see all the teams with specifically your
1:23:45 party animals tearing it up? It
1:23:47 >> I'm so unbelievably proud. I'm
1:23:49 unbelievably proud. My whole goal here,
1:23:51 I want the league to be successful. I
1:23:52 want to help every single player I can.
1:23:54 All the hitting coaches are doing a
1:23:55 great job with their teams. But when
1:23:57 when the fans turn on a banana ball
1:23:58 game, if they haven't seen one or if
1:24:00 they're tuning in for the first time or
1:24:01 whatever the case may be, when they turn
1:24:03 it on, I want the I want them to see
1:24:05 like these guys know what they're doing
1:24:06 at the plate. They have a plan. They
1:24:07 have an approach and they rake. You
1:24:10 know, that's my biggest goal. And when
1:24:11 somebody's watching our games, they're
1:24:12 like, "This banana ball is the real
1:24:14 deal."
1:24:16 >> Entire Texas Tailgator defense is
1:24:18 walking off.
1:24:18 >> That is the most upset I've ever seen
1:24:20 Christian Davis on a diamond. That's all
1:24:21 I have to add to that.
1:24:22 >> Yeah, that's trouble.
1:24:25 Ooh, right field. No man's land.
1:24:28 >> There he is. Jose Brother Gonzalez gets
1:24:30 some redemption from an error earlier.
1:24:32 Anthony Cormato, there are few who have
1:24:35 a better banana ball brain than yours.
1:24:36 Your adjustment from baseball to this
1:24:38 sport is spectacular and honor to have
1:24:39 you on our show.
1:24:40 >> I appreciate it, boys. Uh, I'm honored
1:24:42 and thank you very much for your time
1:24:43 and appreciate all the love and respect
1:24:45 that you guys give me on the broadcast.
1:24:46 This is something I've been waiting for.
1:24:48 So, I appreciate you guys so much.
1:24:49 >> Love you. And and down to Key Lamb on
1:24:51 the field with Bananas Foster at
1:24:53 >> home. To raise awareness and support
1:24:55 this community, we created Bananas
1:24:57 Foster, the official nonprofit of Banana
1:25:00 Ball. Our organization is dedicated to
1:25:03 celebrating those in the foster care
1:25:05 community while educating and inspiring
1:25:08 others to get involved. Tonight, we are
1:25:11 celebrating Megan Gist. Megan always had
1:25:14 a love for caring for children, so she
1:25:17 began her career as a teacher. She
1:25:19 quickly discovered her passion for
1:25:21 caring for kiddos outside of the
1:25:23 classroom. So, she became a single
1:25:26 licensed foster mom at just 23 years
1:25:30 old. Megan is focused on keeping
1:25:33 siblings together while in care. So,
1:25:35 she's currently parenting five children,
1:25:38 including two sets of siblings. In
1:25:41 total, this incredible mom has welcomed
1:25:45 23 children and teens into her home.
1:25:49 Fans, please join us in celebrating this
1:25:52 incredible mom for making a difference
1:25:55 right here in your community.
1:26:04 Another
1:26:29 special moment
1:26:31 here in Nashville, Tennessee and in the
1:26:32 sport of banana ball. Bananas Foster
1:26:36 50155.
1:26:38 That's the number. Text a bunch all caps
1:26:40 [cheering]
1:26:41 to support the official nonprofit of our
1:26:44 sport. And now stand by for one of the
1:26:48 great fans that this sport has ever
1:26:50 seen. His name is Steve Kellogg.
1:26:56 >> Excuse me, sir.
1:26:58 >> Can you read this?
1:27:00 >> Sure.
1:27:02 CW's hit series All American is [music]
1:27:05 heading into its final season. But
1:27:07 first, check out the emotional look back
1:27:09 at all eight seasons. See the football,
1:27:12 family, and unforgettable drama that
1:27:13 made it a legacy. The moments that moved
1:27:16 you come together in this one night only
1:27:18 special all American end of series
1:27:21 Monday at 98 central right here on the
1:27:24 CW.
1:27:26 So, um I need to sign
1:27:29 No, you're good. Thank you. Oh,
1:27:32 >> CINEMA.
1:27:33 >> WOW. STEVE KELLOGG making his national
1:27:37 TV app debut
1:27:40 [laughter]
1:27:41 >> on the CW app.
1:27:43 >> The CW
1:27:44 >> app and YouTube,
1:27:47 Soma Wine Country.
1:27:51 >> Good stuff from a guy who's been a great
1:27:54 advocate for BTV. Many a shirt, many a
1:27:56 hat.
1:27:58 >> Many of those AI creations on his
1:28:00 Instagram page as well.
1:28:01 >> And those. Yes, of course. And those.
1:28:05 >> He gave me a hat earlier today.
1:28:07 >> Are you looking for it right now?
1:28:08 >> I I am. It's somewhere in the broadcast
1:28:10 booth here. You call this pitch.
1:28:13 Thank you, Drake. Jordan [laughter] the
1:28:16 ditch. Head one over Brett Helton.
1:28:22 JB grounded out his loan at bat tonight.
1:28:26 >> I don't know when Drake's going to be
1:28:28 back.
1:28:29 >> Good news is they also pay me to talk.
1:28:31 So JB hitting .385 this year. Oh, this
1:28:36 one gets the back stop. You know, Party
1:28:38 Animal stole first three times last
1:28:40 night.
1:28:45 Just no way.
1:28:46 >> Yes way.
1:28:55 That's a strike from Hel. And there's
1:28:58 the hat courtesy of Steve Kellogg. My
1:29:01 little grubby fingers. Got to be a
1:29:03 chickens triple. I was out there, too.
1:29:05 Bar ground ball trick by the opportunity
1:29:07 behind the back for Bloomer. Count it.
1:29:08 >> Why didn't you bring me one?
1:29:12 >> You've been losing too much weight,
1:29:13 ma'am. [music]
1:29:15 Don't blow away.
1:29:18 I should have brought you three.
1:29:24 >> Bloomer, the designated fielder tonight
1:29:25 for the party animals by a lot.
1:29:28 >> I think it's very interesting how Bava's
1:29:29 been doing his defenses. He's rolled out
1:29:31 a different defense in all three of
1:29:32 these games here in Nashville this
1:29:34 weekend, which I think is a lot of
1:29:36 value. You know, obviously Dustin
1:29:37 Bourber has was in the lineup
1:29:39 offensively Thursday night, was the
1:29:40 designated fielder last night. Hopefully
1:29:43 we'll see some action at some point here
1:29:44 tonight.
1:29:46 Bloomer gets last night off. Was in the
1:29:48 lineup as the third baseman Thursday
1:29:49 night and then there as the DF here
1:29:51 tonight. Just interesting to see the
1:29:53 conglomerate of different ways this
1:29:55 party animals can play defense.
1:30:03 >> Foul ball from Justice.
1:30:14 Another
1:30:16 ground ball. Bloomer. Trick play again.
1:30:19 Counted again.
1:30:21 That is four consecutive ground outs
1:30:24 >> for Brett Helton.
1:30:25 >> All All four resulting in trick plays.
1:30:27 By the way,
1:30:29 >> can I read off what Brett Helton's done
1:30:30 his last eight batters faced?
1:30:32 >> I would love to.
1:30:33 >> Strike out. Strike out. Ground out.
1:30:36 Strike out. And then four consecutive
1:30:38 ground outs.
1:30:40 [music]
1:30:42 You were born here in this place.
1:30:46 You belong. You
1:30:50 alone
1:30:52 broke you
1:30:54 made you strong.
1:30:57 [music]
1:31:05 [music]
1:31:06 >> Coolest part about that great toll. Yep.
1:31:08 They learned all of that dance in five
1:31:11 minutes in rehearsals today.
1:31:13 >> What was that, Shakira?
1:31:18 >> What?
1:31:22 [cheering]
1:31:23 He just kind of
1:31:27 tapped the ball with his foot a little
1:31:28 bit. Did a little uh uh
1:31:33 play ball.
1:31:35 It's called dance. Okay.
1:31:40 You know, there's just a little soccer
1:31:41 tournament going on.
1:31:42 >> Instead of doing that, we should have
1:31:44 just done the waving flag again when I
1:31:46 get older. Bring it back out. Bring
1:31:48 bring both teams out.
1:31:52 >> Jose, brother Gonzalez into center
1:31:55 field. Hampton could go behind the back.
1:31:57 Hampton does GO BEHIND THE BACK. TRICK
1:31:59 PLAY.
1:32:03 Look at that. Brett Helton has cut down
1:32:06 nine straight right here on the CW app.
1:32:16 Hey YouTube and the CW app. [laughter]
1:32:21 >> I think YouTube can just hear us RIGHT
1:32:22 NOW.
1:32:23 >> I KNOW. I know. I know.
1:32:27 >> You're racing, man. It's your your damn
1:32:29 NASCAR has done gone 4 hours long. Hold
1:32:35 on. Oh, no. No. No. I forgot about this.
1:32:39 >> What is this?
1:32:40 >> Chad Reese.
1:32:41 >> Are we both doing this?
1:32:42 >> Producers.
1:32:44 >> We both have to do this.
1:32:46 >> Did I sign up for this?
1:32:47 >> You signed up for this? Yeah. Oh, we
1:32:48 shouldn't tell him. Oh, that looks bad.
1:32:51 >> Can I try it yet or no?
1:32:53 >> Oh,
1:32:55 okay. Well, Chad Reese has brought us
1:32:57 some food and it's just red.
1:33:00 >> I'm going shoot straight, brat. That
1:33:02 looks pretty spicy. I'm only going to
1:33:04 eat.
1:33:07 >> At least they gave us ketchup.
1:33:10 >> Yep.
1:33:13 >> You got water anywhere?
1:33:15 >> Yeah. Only like half a water bottle in
1:33:17 my NASCAR thermos.
1:33:20 >> You know, you know what? I got a bone to
1:33:22 pick with NASCAR.
1:33:25 >> I'd like to have a word.
1:33:35 Yeah, we're going to have to eat that,
1:33:36 aren't we?
1:33:38 >> We haven't done a
1:33:40 >> We haven't done a food bet on a show
1:33:42 with us in a long time. Maybe ever.
1:33:44 >> Since 2025.
1:33:47 >> Yeah. Yeah. [laughter] Would have had to
1:33:49 be. That's when we hired you.
1:33:51 >> We ate some beignes in Baton Rouge last
1:33:52 year.
1:33:53 >> We did, didn't we? And they were 4 days
1:33:55 old.
1:33:55 >> Yeah.
1:33:56 >> They've just been sitting there. It's
1:33:57 9:00 a.m. day of the game. Hey boys, got
1:33:59 your beignes here.
1:34:02 >> Games at seven.
1:34:05 >> You watch the clock here a
1:34:07 >> little bit.
1:34:08 >> Yeah, something aware of.
1:34:11 >> I love the YouTube audience, man. I love
1:34:13 the live fan feedback.
1:34:16 >> By the way, hello to everyone who was in
1:34:18 Cincinnati, New Hampshire tonight.
1:34:20 >> Yeah.
1:34:30 Right back here on the CW.
1:34:33 Thanks to our friends at Progressive.
1:34:35 Banana Ball on the CW is brought to you
1:34:37 by Progressive Insurance. A grand slam
1:34:38 for your budget. Visit progressive.com.
1:34:42 She's my cherry pie.
1:34:46 Sugar sticky sweet stuff. What a sweet
1:34:49 surprise.
1:34:53 Here comes Reese Hampton to the dish.
1:34:55 Party animals and Texas tailgators.
1:34:58 That's a one-point deficit for the boys
1:34:59 in blue.
1:35:01 >> They've yet to score a run tonight,
1:35:02 Brett.
1:35:03 >> Yeah, man.
1:35:04 >> Had that inning against Brett Hilton
1:35:05 where they loaded him up with no outs
1:35:07 and then Brett got three straight outs
1:35:09 without a single run scoring.
1:35:11 >> Yeah.
1:35:11 >> While Mike Dubs, who told us how he was
1:35:13 going to do it, and then he did it.
1:35:14 >> That was so cool.
1:35:26 I wouldn't do that. That might be hot,
1:35:28 buddy.
1:35:33 >> Reese Hampton
1:35:35 with one swing at the bat could give the
1:35:36 party animals
1:35:39 a two0 lead going into the fifth here.
1:35:42 >> And Brett, that's a thing with that
1:35:44 two-hour time limit here in Banana Ball.
1:35:46 No new inning can begin if it expires.
1:35:52 Yep. There goes Brett Loftess.
1:35:55 >> You're supposed to wait to eat the food
1:35:58 >> until we do the bit. Until we do the
1:35:59 >> I don't know what you're talking about.
1:36:01 >> Keep coughing over there, boss.
1:36:02 >> I don't know what you're talking about.
1:36:04 >> Hamp will take this free 90 on a ball
1:36:06 for a spread. No new inning can begin
1:36:08 once that 2-hour time limit expires.
1:36:11 And one of the things that makes that
1:36:12 time drag on
1:36:15 is when the home team isn't getting
1:36:17 consistent walk-offs.
1:36:19 >> Yep. Cuz a walk-off can equate to an
1:36:21 inning that's 30 seconds long. Reese
1:36:23 Hampton hit a home run on the second
1:36:24 pitch he sees. Inning over. We move on.
1:36:27 >> Here's a double play ball. Hard 90 from
1:36:29 Revo. Not fast enough.
1:36:32 >> And that is a rare time where the Texas
1:36:33 Shell Gators will turn two man and not
1:36:35 record a trick play. Yep.
1:36:37 >> Down in that category tonight. 8 to
1:36:38 three right there. 643 from Hussein,
1:36:41 Sunny, and Justice. Big couple outs, but
1:36:44 not able to record a trick play in that
1:36:47 643.
1:36:49 chosen
1:36:51 >> at the dish.
1:36:53 >> Really good pitch from CD.
1:36:56 >> Davis is working on a pretty fast inning
1:36:58 here, too.
1:36:59 >> Yeah, he's
1:37:01 only might be the wrong word, but I I
1:37:02 want to say only at 60 pitches now on
1:37:05 his night through nearly four innings.
1:37:09 >> I think we're going to see both these
1:37:10 starting pitchers go really deep.
1:37:11 >> I think so, too.
1:37:13 >> CD is going to be around an 80 to 95
1:37:16 pitch count tonight.
1:37:18 I know that seems like a larger range,
1:37:20 but it really depends on how he's
1:37:21 feeling.
1:37:21 >> Yeah.
1:37:23 >> Jay Auff
1:37:25 lines a base hit into left.
1:37:27 >> The Animals scored their loan point back
1:37:29 in the first. Since then, I've seen a
1:37:31 couple base runners and then watched him
1:37:35 be stranded by Christian Davis.
1:37:37 >> And if you go back to that first inning,
1:37:38 we really shouldn't even have a point
1:37:39 tonight. Girl home from Jose Gonzalez.
1:37:43 >> Taj goes for the tag and the banana ball
1:37:45 just fell out of his mitt.
1:37:46 >> That's right.
1:37:55 Tanner Thomas.
1:37:58 A foul ball out of the complex.
1:38:02 Tinder last night was 0 for three.
1:38:04 Tonight 0 for one.
1:38:06 Was redot coming into Nashville trying
1:38:08 to get that get back
1:38:12 after a big blast on night one.
1:38:15 This time Jordan Bar
1:38:18 to the cowboy hat.
1:38:20 >> Book it. Book it.
1:38:22 Had to have it right there for those
1:38:25 two. Jordan and Jordan connection on the
1:38:27 left side of the infield. That'll bring
1:38:29 you back a little bit in the trick play
1:38:31 category now. 8 to five. The tailgator
1:38:33 trail that.
1:38:34 >> I know what's coming.
1:38:36 >> I know what's I know what's here.
1:38:37 >> I don't even I'm not even going to put
1:38:39 the cowboy hat on for this.
1:38:42 Hey.
1:38:44 >> All right, ladies and gentlemen of the
1:38:46 CW
1:38:49 AB and YouTube.
1:38:51 >> We have an appetizer.
1:38:52 >> We are in Nashville, Tennessee.
1:38:54 >> Drake, show them the food.
1:38:55 >> Oh, I'm going to I don't want to spill
1:38:57 the sauce. It's a sauce right now. We
1:38:58 have procured the world's hottest
1:39:01 chicken.
1:39:02 >> Bart, I'm going to feed it to you.
1:39:04 >> No, you I'm not.
1:39:05 >> I'm going to do it together. Let's do it
1:39:06 together.
1:39:06 >> You're going to feed it to yourself.
1:39:07 >> Okay, let's do it together. Grab another
1:39:09 fry.
1:39:09 >> Grab you one of the Grab you one of
1:39:10 those chicken strips.
1:39:13 >> [cheering]
1:39:18 >> Oh. Oh, no. I don't like spicy.
1:39:22 [cheering] Hold this. I move. Oh,
1:39:27 I got to read this. Monday the season
1:39:31 finale
1:39:34 >> of the beloved hit series Sing. Beloved
1:39:37 hit series. Svin's crossing is here. All
1:39:40 season long, hearts have been tested.
1:39:41 You
1:39:42 >> secrets have been revealed. And now
1:39:44 everything comes down to this. Don't
1:39:46 miss the season finale of Sullivan's
1:39:48 Crossing Monday at 8:7 central right
1:39:50 here on the CW.
1:39:53 >> That is National.
1:39:57 That's the back of my throat, man.
1:40:01 >> I took two bites.
1:40:04 >> That's in the back of my throat.
1:40:20 I got to take the front coat off.
1:40:23 >> It's glued to me.
1:40:29 >> Stay on. [screaming]
1:40:30 >> What would you rate the spiciness?
1:40:32 >> I'm going to rate it on a buckets. Book
1:40:34 it. Book it. Book it. Book it. Book it.
1:40:36 Uh,
1:40:41 >> I don't think it was that bad, right?
1:40:43 >> No, no, no. Mine was
1:40:47 heard it. I think Taj Porter leaned into
1:40:50 that one.
1:40:53 Anybody else's legs, man? Anybody else?
1:40:57 That dude, the quadfather,
1:41:00 he ain't got nowhere else to put them
1:41:02 things.
1:41:10 I'm going to shoot you straight, dude.
1:41:13 [sighs]
1:41:16 >> I'm not having a very good time.
1:41:28 >> Jacob Pepper sticks right at it first,
1:41:30 >> which is a great sign.
1:41:38 fans.
1:41:41 >> No, I tell you one thing I'll be doing
1:41:43 at the end of this inning here. Going to
1:41:45 refilling up my water bottle.
1:41:55 >> Drake is not in good shape here.
1:41:56 >> No, I got snot going on, man.
1:41:58 >> Indiana Stanley,
1:41:59 >> did you see my bite? It happened.
1:42:02 It had hot sauce in it.
1:42:06 There's hot sauce in the chicken breast.
1:42:13 Strike him out. No. Throw him out.
1:42:17 Jacob Pepper sick. Now 16 stolen bases
1:42:21 on the year.
1:42:24 And now in And now Indiana Stanley
1:42:27 retired via the strikeout. Jason Art now
1:42:30 at the dish.
1:42:35 My heart is baffating right now. That
1:42:38 not how you say that word.
1:42:40 >> That's how I say that word.
1:42:42 >> No,
1:42:47 I I do. I think that was very hot,
1:42:49 Brett.
1:42:58 Chad Reese is just an angel.
1:43:00 >> He brought us some fruit.
1:43:07 >> Ball in from be hell.
1:43:08 >> The worst thing are my lips right now.
1:43:10 >> No, it's still the back of my throat,
1:43:12 dog.
1:43:13 >> It's like the top of my esophagus.
1:43:17 >> Can I tell you something?
1:43:18 >> Between me, you and God,
1:43:19 >> correct? It is an honor to make my CW
1:43:24 AB debut alongside you.
1:43:26 >> Yeah, me too.
1:43:35 >> Wow, AJ Kirk just almost got taken out
1:43:37 by that foul ball.
1:43:38 >> Pain.
1:43:40 >> Yeah.
1:43:46 >> Now AJ's hiding behind the tarp.
1:43:50 Bart, another one foul.
1:43:52 >> I want to request in my contract I
1:43:54 should never have to eat hot food on air
1:43:56 again.
1:43:56 >> You know,
1:44:03 >> oh no. You know what I just realized?
1:44:05 >> What?
1:44:13 >> Oh my gosh.
1:44:15 >> PIPPERS RAN BACK TO SECOND.
1:44:17 >> OH.
1:44:18 AND HE JUST made contact with Chase Aub
1:44:21 on the way to third.
1:44:24 >> Pip on a ball for sprint. Didn't score
1:44:27 from second base
1:44:30 and yeah, you see the contact on the
1:44:31 left side.
1:44:34 >> Okay.
1:44:36 That was a strike, bro.
1:44:42 >> I think Andrew Bartman, a third base
1:44:44 coach and hitting coach for Tailgators,
1:44:45 is having a conversation with Chris
1:44:47 Walker. AUV was in the baseline.
1:44:50 >> Yeah.
1:44:52 >> So, in that scenario, shouldn't Pit be
1:44:54 able to come home and score regardless?
1:44:55 >> I have a lot of questions, Brett.
1:44:58 >> Why didn't he score? Number one,
1:45:01 >> because he ran in to Chase Akoff.
1:45:04 >> No, he he ran back to SECOND BASE.
1:45:06 >> HE DID, but then he would have still
1:45:07 scored if he'd not made contact with
1:45:09 Akal.
1:45:10 >> I don't think so. I don't double play
1:45:12 ball. Null and void. Wow. A huge double
1:45:16 play for the Animals.
1:45:18 out of one big what if for the entirety
1:45:20 of that half inning.
1:45:22 >> We're eating fruit off of a macaroni
1:45:24 residue
1:45:26 >> receptacle. That was my thing I was
1:45:28 going to tell you that used to have
1:45:29 macaroni in it. Now it's got fruit. This
1:45:31 is a wild night in Nashville. Could it
1:45:34 get any crazier, Brett Loft? From the
1:45:36 Nashville hot chicken
1:45:38 to a couple of snafoos and weird calls
1:45:41 down on the field. The Texas Tailgator
1:45:43 have still yet to play to run and the
1:45:46 Party Animals lead the contest one point
1:45:49 to zero as we await a miding mid-ining
1:45:52 promotion, I should say. And
1:45:56 there's the light.
1:45:59 Things have stood idle here in
1:46:00 Nashville. And the last time this
1:46:02 happened, it meant a special guest was
1:46:03 on their way. And
1:46:06 I can only believe that is the case
1:46:08 right now.
1:46:11 Question is, who will it be?
1:46:13 >> We're here in the music city, but last
1:46:15 night we had Johnny Knoxville
1:46:17 and Steo from Jackass. Oh.
1:46:21 >> Oh, I know that.
1:46:22 >> I know that hair from anywhere.
1:46:24 >> That hair
1:46:27 riding in a camo truck in left field.
1:46:36 He's about to do it to him, isn't he?
1:46:39 >> Is that Is that country music star?
1:46:44 >> That looks a lot like Hardy.
1:46:48 >> You saw it just there written on the
1:46:49 back of his jersey.
1:46:53 >> One of the top country artists in the
1:46:55 world. It's about to surprise 10,000
1:46:58 people
1:46:59 >> in Nashville, Tennessee.
1:47:05 momentarily.
1:47:07 >> Here he comes.
1:47:13 >> Now rolling up to the field. Please
1:47:16 welcome a twotime CMA award winner, a
1:47:21 fivetime ACM award winner, and a
1:47:25 threetime Grammy award winner. Country
1:47:29 music superstar. [screaming]
1:47:39 I woke up on the wrong side of the truck
1:47:42 bed this morning with a bone drop of
1:47:46 jack
1:47:48 and she has a nerve she me to the curb.
1:47:51 Guess you can say I got all I deserve
1:47:53 cuz I'm a little
1:48:06 said baby got drunk and
1:48:10 I knock up my door but she never guess I
1:48:15 don't
1:48:18 stop. I can't believe my bloodshot as
1:48:22 well
1:48:27 with a phone
1:48:29 jack.
1:48:31 She got nerve when she kicked me to the
1:48:34 curb. Yes, you can say I got what I
1:48:36 deserve cuz I woke up on the wrong side
1:48:39 of the truck this morning.
1:48:46 the wrong side of the truck this
1:48:48 morning. Yes, I did.
1:48:56 She rock.
1:48:59 Not bad for a boy from Mississippi.
1:49:02 Yeah, I could buy a Maybach, [music]
1:49:06 but I'm still [singing] in my F150
1:49:08 [music] and my last name.
1:49:11 Oh, it's a whole lot bigger than I
1:49:14 thought it'd be. [music] A lot of things
1:49:16 changed,
1:49:19 except one thing. Me, I'm still the same
1:49:23 old redneck punk. Don't give a damn.
1:49:26 Ain't afraid to throw a [music] dead
1:49:28 buck on my Instagram alcohol in my cup.
1:49:31 Got the whole house. WHAT A WALL THAT IS
1:49:34 STILL A SOLD OUT.
1:49:40 What a wall and a stone.
1:49:45 [music]
1:49:46 What a wall and a stone.
1:49:51 [screaming]
1:50:02 Yeah. Middle finger to the sky till I'm
1:50:05 going die. 44 in the far FOR THE COVER.
1:50:10 ALCOHOL IN MY CUP. [music] GOT THE whole
1:50:12 house wall and still ain't sold out.
1:50:16 Little finger to [music] the sky till
1:50:18 I'm gone dead. 44 and four for the
1:50:22 coverage. Alcohol in my cup. [music] Got
1:50:25 the whole house. WHAT A WALL AND STILL
1:50:28 THEY SOLD [screaming] out
1:50:31 [cheering]
1:50:37 one more time. MAKES HIS BANANA ball
1:50:39 debut for the party animals.
1:50:45 And he is a legend,
1:50:48 a hero
1:50:50 to a whole lot of these players down on
1:50:52 the field. Getting to meet one of the
1:50:55 biggest names in country music today.
1:50:58 >> An absolute legend. I mean, when we saw
1:51:01 the special guest this weekend, Drake,
1:51:04 and saw who they were going to be here
1:51:05 in Nashville, obviously had to deal with
1:51:07 with music and in the capital of country
1:51:10 music here in the Music City. Delivered
1:51:13 in a big way. Chris Young Thursday
1:51:14 night, party tonight, you mix in jackass
1:51:17 right there in the sandwich in game two
1:51:19 yesterday with Steo and Johnny
1:51:20 Knoxville. Drake, I I don't think on a
1:51:23 macro level we'd be selling this weekend
1:51:26 short if we didn't caught the biggest
1:51:28 one of the biggest weekends in the
1:51:29 history of the party animals.
1:51:30 >> This is the biggest weekend in the
1:51:32 history of the party animals from a
1:51:33 guest standpoint. And and the only one
1:51:36 you can point back to and there have
1:51:37 been a lot of oneoff special guests or
1:51:40 players and athletes who have shown up
1:51:42 showed out and worn the black and pink
1:51:44 go back to Chipper Jones and Kirby Smart
1:51:46 on the same night in Atlanta, Georgia.
1:51:49 But from a follower standpoint,
1:51:52 listeners standpoint,
1:51:54 country music standpoint, no doubt this
1:51:57 weekend in Nashville has probably topped
1:51:59 them all.
1:52:01 Man, talk about iPod Nanos. Obviously,
1:52:05 Hardy is a little bit newer than that.
1:52:08 I've had Hardy downloaded at least one
1:52:11 of his albums downloaded on my iPhone
1:52:14 since 2020. That's just so cool to see.
1:52:16 And and same thing for a lot of these
1:52:18 guys. Obviously, the Texas Tailgator
1:52:19 embody country music, the party animals.
1:52:21 Big time music, big time party scene for
1:52:23 these guys. And in this brand, it's just
1:52:25 so cool that the guests that we've had
1:52:26 here in Banana Bowl and specifically
1:52:28 wearing black and pink this weekend.
1:52:34 >> We use it a lot, that phrase growth of
1:52:37 the sport.
1:52:40 [cheering]
1:52:41 It's Noah Fischer
1:52:43 drops a single into left field for the
1:52:45 Party Animals. And a lot of times, and
1:52:48 this was part of
1:52:50 a conversation that we had at staff chat
1:52:54 last night, the entire staff, umpires,
1:52:56 players, front office, all getting
1:52:58 together and having an opportunity to
1:53:01 recognize one another at dinner
1:53:02 yesterday.
1:53:04 Ashton Landell comes in to hit for the
1:53:06 party animals. One of the things we
1:53:09 talked about is how special guests and
1:53:12 stars bring legitimacy to this sport,
1:53:14 bring legitimacy to our brands.
1:53:17 and Zack Fronow, director of
1:53:18 entertainment for Fans First
1:53:19 Entertainment,
1:53:21 >> helping facilitate Jackass Hardy Chris
1:53:25 Young this weekend. He deserves a lot of
1:53:27 credit, probably helping build up this
1:53:29 animal's brand and build up the sport of
1:53:30 an animal.
1:53:33 Lance Delic swinging a miss. And I think
1:53:36 something that Jake Skull said to us
1:53:38 earlier today in conversation during
1:53:39 rehearsals was when the party animals
1:53:43 won early on, especially when they
1:53:44 overcame that nine-game deficit in 2023
1:53:48 and then winning in Coopertown, that
1:53:49 helped legitimize this brand so much
1:53:52 when they were able to overcome the
1:53:53 Savannah Bananas in the back half of
1:53:55 that tour. I think that kind of started
1:53:56 the domino effect of what we've seen
1:53:58 here this weekend. Guests want to now
1:54:01 come in and wear black and pink. Even if
1:54:04 the bananas aren't there, they want to
1:54:05 be there and still wear black and pink.
1:54:07 And I and I think for all six of our
1:54:09 brands in Banana Ball, that is what all
1:54:11 of these brands are going after.
1:54:14 And it's just so cool that the Bananas
1:54:16 and and then the party animals have been
1:54:18 able to come and set that foundation.
1:54:23 >> I think a lot of it too is selflessness.
1:54:26 >> Like Riley Green came out in Atlanta in
1:54:28 a Savannah Bananas jersey and there were
1:54:30 some of these guests that they get to
1:54:31 choose. They say, "Hey, I feel like I'm
1:54:33 more of a party animal. I'm more of a
1:54:34 banana. I'm more of a tailgator."
1:54:36 >> And it's it's credit to the Texas
1:54:38 Tailgators in a city like Nashville to
1:54:41 give the party animals their flowers.
1:54:45 >> Yeah. And you've seen it last year in
1:54:47 Houston. Low cash performing. The
1:54:48 Banatas played the Tailgators wearing
1:54:50 Tailgator Blue. Earlier this year,
1:54:52 Adrian Nunees in College Station comes
1:54:54 out, performs in a tailgator jersey.
1:54:56 It's
1:54:57 >> it's it's so cool that that different
1:54:58 teams are starting to get different
1:55:00 guests, man. And you're right. It's up
1:55:01 to the discretion of the guest
1:55:02 inevitably of what they want to come out
1:55:04 in.
1:55:10 >> 32 RIGHT FIELD. BROTHER WAS PLAYING IN.
1:55:15 OH, and it is a ground rule double
1:55:20 [cheering]
1:55:22 saved by the grass.
1:55:26 Mark Smith was barreling around third
1:55:30 and headed home. No doubt, but a ground
1:55:32 rule double for Mikey Ballard.
1:55:35 >> Means that Smith has to retreat to third
1:55:38 and the inning is still not walked off.
1:55:41 >> Yeah, if the Tailgators get out of this,
1:55:43 they need to be thinking that grass out
1:55:45 there in right field
1:55:47 cuz Mark Smith easily would have scored
1:55:49 from first if that's not a ground rule
1:55:51 double. Infield in now for Skull.
1:56:03 Skull said, "I'm done getting up
1:56:04 underneath.
1:56:06 Done getting underneath fast balls."
1:56:10 >> You know what?
1:56:14 I don't need long balls. I need RBI's. I
1:56:16 need wins. That's the Jake Skull
1:56:18 mentality in 2026.
1:56:23 JOEL WALKS OFF THE INNING INTO RIGHT.
1:56:27 IT IS TWO POINTS TO ZERO. THE Party
1:56:29 Animals lead it as we go to the top of
1:56:32 the sixth. The Black and Pink bats have
1:56:35 been hot. Brett Helton is dealing on the
1:56:37 bump.
1:56:38 [laughter]
1:56:40 And here he comes to the broadcast
1:56:42 booth. Hardy dog, where do we even start
1:56:48 this whole banana ball thing? HOW DID
1:56:50 YOU YOU'RE WEARING BLACK AND pink right
1:56:52 now. Just performed from a truck bed and
1:56:54 then down on the field with two teams
1:56:55 standing behind you. How did you get
1:56:57 here?
1:56:58 >> Well, I drove and that was my truck.
1:57:00 >> All right, there we go. SWEET. THAT WAS
1:57:01 HARD. EVERYBODY, THANK YOU SO MUCH. It's
1:57:02 been a pleasure tonight. [laughter] Hard
1:57:03 to have you.
1:57:04 >> No, I um to be honest, I mean I I know
1:57:06 there's a lot of moving parts. Um
1:57:08 Stilts, my man Dakota actually hit me up
1:57:10 and was like, "Man, we'd love to have
1:57:11 youall do something." And I that that
1:57:13 was a connection. I'm actually good
1:57:14 friends with TA Tanner. I need to text
1:57:16 you back, by the way, dude. I'm really
1:57:17 sorry about that. But man, I just I'm
1:57:19 I'm a huge fan of of what you guys are
1:57:21 doing here and I think it's super cool
1:57:22 and for y'all to come provide
1:57:23 entertainment for people that live in
1:57:25 this amazing city. U I just am super
1:57:27 happy to be a part of it and anything I
1:57:29 can do to help support that, I'm here.
1:57:30 So, we're here tonight.
1:57:31 >> Yeah.
1:57:32 >> I mean, you look you're starting to get
1:57:34 some connections with Tailgator and the
1:57:35 Tailgator band as well here. I mean, you
1:57:38 got connections throughout Banana Ball.
1:57:39 Is this something you've been following
1:57:40 for a while or your buddies? You just
1:57:42 you just meet them naturally. Like, what
1:57:43 is your connection with Banana Ball
1:57:45 before tonight? Yeah, I I mean I to be
1:57:47 completely honest, I the first thing I
1:57:48 ever saw were like viral videos. I you
1:57:50 know, I had not heard of it and I see
1:57:51 all these videos. I'm like, what what is
1:57:53 this? And and um yeah, I just my wife
1:57:56 and I both are just like such huge fans
1:57:58 and we had been meaning for forever to
1:57:59 go to uh a game of any kind any any any
1:58:02 uh teams in the league. And uh yeah, I
1:58:05 just I I became a fan from early on just
1:58:07 from seeing crazy videos and stuff and
1:58:09 just becoming obsessed with just a new
1:58:10 take on baseball. I grew up playing
1:58:12 baseball, so it's really cool. I'm a big
1:58:13 fan. HARDY, WE'LL SPIN you around and
1:58:15 call a half inning with you. Let's see
1:58:16 if we get a home run, a back flip,
1:58:17 something cool. This hot chicken.
1:58:19 >> So, we did a little Nashville.
1:58:21 [laughter] We're on the CW tonight,
1:58:23 right? Well,
1:58:25 >> the CW app right now as NASCAR wraps up
1:58:28 on national TV.
1:58:29 >> And earlier we told the folks about
1:58:31 Miller's Crossing, one of the legendary
1:58:34 CW shows. Surely you've been
1:58:36 >> Yeah, big fan.
1:58:36 >> Sullivan's Crossing, one of the
1:58:38 legendary CW [laughter] shows.
1:58:40 >> Yeah. Well,
1:58:41 >> bigger I'm a bigger fan of Sullivans
1:58:42 than Miller, actually.
1:58:43 >> I'll throw that one.
1:58:45 >> Throw that one in the blooper reel. Uh,
1:58:47 and so we decided to do this here, Reed,
1:58:49 after the hottest level of Nashville hot
1:58:51 chicken we can find.
1:58:52 >> Where's it from?
1:58:53 >> Uh, do you know this is from,
1:58:56 >> let's see, cuz it's not a box.
1:58:59 >> It could be Bolton's. It could be um
1:59:02 >> uh I'm being told by a producer to stand
1:59:04 by where the hot chicken was from. I
1:59:06 think they're they're vetting the place
1:59:07 to make sure their social media is clean
1:59:10 for all of history.
1:59:11 >> How are you with spice?
1:59:12 >> Yeah. Does that look appetizing to you?
1:59:14 Cuz I can tell Pepper Fire.
1:59:16 >> Pepper Fire. Okay. Pepper Fire is new.
1:59:17 It's new. It's a It's not necessarily a
1:59:19 staple, but I've heard good things. Um
1:59:21 >> I I I only know bad things. Not from a
1:59:23 flavor and taste standpoint, but from a
1:59:25 incapacitation standpoint.
1:59:27 >> Well, I go in and out of spice shape, so
1:59:28 like I can I can like And that's a real
1:59:31 thing. Apparently, you can train your
1:59:32 your tongue, your taste buds to handle
1:59:34 more spice,
1:59:35 >> but I you know, we have like a whole
1:59:37 rack at the house full of really hot
1:59:39 stuff. And every now and then, me and my
1:59:40 wife or somebody, we'll break it out. Uh
1:59:43 >> but yeah, I I can handle it. If it's too
1:59:45 hot, it's too hot. But like a dream of
1:59:46 mine is to do hot ones, you know, the
1:59:48 thing.
1:59:49 >> And uh I I've told myself like if I find
1:59:52 out I'm doing it, I'm going to literally
1:59:54 put myself through the gauntlet so I
1:59:55 don't look like a a a complete weenie
1:59:57 when I go up there.
1:59:58 >> I I know the spice is rough on the vocal
2:00:00 cords. I I got to ask you from a
2:00:01 personal perspective, how you take care
2:00:03 of the voice on the road.
2:00:04 >> I warm up.
2:00:05 >> I I started I I used to not do it for
2:00:07 six or seven years. I I did not warm up.
2:00:09 And I finally met a uh met a a vocal
2:00:12 coach that she was like, "You have cuz I
2:00:14 scream obviously. You guys just saw
2:00:16 that." And she taught it's just a
2:00:18 15-minute thing and it's as cliche as
2:00:19 you would think of just la all that kind
2:00:21 of stuff for 15 minutes. you do all
2:00:24 these exercises and it and seriously
2:00:25 that like changed my life on the road.
2:00:27 And a big [music] thing is I we we used
2:00:31 to go out and hang out and go to bars
2:00:32 and stuff and talk really loud. If you
2:00:34 talking really loud after you
2:00:35 >> Wait a second, Hardy. We hang out and go
2:00:37 to bars and talk really loud.
2:00:38 >> Well, you guys must have a better uh
2:00:41 vocal cord strength than I do. But
2:00:42 that's a that's a worst thing for your
2:00:44 voice apparently is talking really loud
2:00:46 after you sing for two hours. So, um,
2:00:48 >> so a performance like this and and and
2:00:50 you warm up, you go out truck bed and
2:00:52 then 10,000 folks. Talk to me about
2:00:54 venues, small bar, arena, minor league
2:00:58 baseball stadium. You got to adjust for
2:01:00 a place like this.
2:01:01 >> Yeah, kind of. I mean, I've always said
2:01:02 like kids make me nervous, so I was
2:01:03 nervous tonight.
2:01:04 >> Oh, wow. Okay.
2:01:05 >> I like I did a thing one time for St.
2:01:07 Jude.
2:01:07 >> Hopey.
2:01:10 >> Did we JUST GET A FAN CAUGHT FOUL BALL
2:01:12 WITH HARDY IN THE BOOTH?
2:01:13 >> HARDY, THAT FAN JUST CAUGHT THAT FOUL
2:01:14 BALL.
2:01:15 >> No way. I've been waiting for that all
2:01:17 night. This is so awesome that I was
2:01:18 here for that.
2:01:19 >> Here comes the replay.
2:01:26 >> Somewhere in that prey.
2:01:27 >> I think it happened. Look at that.
2:01:30 Amazing.
2:01:30 >> As you saw so clearly, of course, that
2:01:33 the fan caught foul ball. Two down now
2:01:35 here in Nashville. Shoot. You're scared
2:01:38 of kids.
2:01:38 >> Yeah. I just There's something about
2:01:40 kids that make me nervous, man. I mean,
2:01:41 I have a kid and I love my daughter, but
2:01:43 I this this I was more worked up for
2:01:45 this than than a lot of bigger things
2:01:47 that I have done in my career. It just
2:01:49 it's something about maybe it's just I
2:01:50 want I want to win the kids over. I want
2:01:52 to impress the kids. That was a quick
2:01:53 snag right there. Holy cow.
2:01:55 >> Oh my goodness.
2:01:56 >> I found it.
2:01:57 >> CHASE A SHIFT WAS ON. LOOK WHAT HE
2:02:00 FOUND.
2:02:01 >> What a snag.
2:02:02 >> Hardy, you just got a fan caught foul
2:02:04 ball at a web gem. You'll see that one
2:02:05 on ESPN tomorrow again. Um, we want to
2:02:09 welcome you into a tradition before we
2:02:10 say goodbye to you in the broadcast.
2:02:12 Okay.
2:02:12 >> And since since you're scared of
2:02:14 children and we got that out of
2:02:15 [laughter] the way.
2:02:15 >> Okay. Fine. I'll go. I said it. I'm
2:02:18 scared of kids.
2:02:19 >> Uh, in Banana Ball, we do what's called
2:02:21 the hey baby. And it's this classic
2:02:24 dance that we only do here in Banana
2:02:26 Land. I'm being again told by a
2:02:27 production staff that they are forcing
2:02:28 you to learn this.
2:02:29 >> Okay.
2:02:30 >> So, it's a little Hey,
2:02:33 hey, baby. And then a who and then a
2:02:35 hump. Sorry, a thrust. Can't say hump.
2:02:37 Okay. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. You just said
2:02:39 it.
2:02:39 >> He almost said I can hump. And that
2:02:40 would have been a great sound bite and I
2:02:42 stopped him. So that's all you got to
2:02:44 It's coming back around. Yep. That's
2:02:46 all. That's all you got to do. Hey,
2:02:47 baby.
2:02:48 >> Ooh.
2:02:50 >> Yep. And then it's like a little spin
2:02:51 around motion, but you'll get a wrap
2:02:53 with the cord. You see what's going on
2:02:54 here?
2:02:54 >> Yeah.
2:02:55 >> So 10,000 people now. We got cameras
2:02:57 will show it all across the Here we go.
2:03:00 >> Okay. Yep. We go a little practice
2:03:01 round. Who? Uhhuh. And then this is this
2:03:05 is the the part where we step right clap
2:03:08 step.
2:03:09 >> We don't have enough room in here.
2:03:10 >> No, we're really putting through the
2:03:11 gauntlet too. So I kind of
2:03:14 >> Yeah. Yeah. There we go. Wow.
2:03:15 >> You got to get the ooh in there. Ooh.
2:03:18 Ah.
2:03:19 >> Baby's first. Hey baby. Do we get Do we
2:03:21 scrapbook this? Be my girl. There we go.
2:03:25 >> My wife would be very proud.
2:03:26 >> What a pleasure it was to have been a
2:03:28 blast.
2:03:28 >> A hoot and a holler. Both of them for
2:03:31 the price of one.
2:03:32 >> Hardy. Long time listener. been a big
2:03:33 fan.
2:03:34 >> Thank you, man. Thank you so much for
2:03:35 being here for our great sport.
2:03:36 >> My pleasure. Yes, sir.
2:03:37 >> We'll send it back down to the field
2:03:38 WITH A LITTLE HEY, BABY HERE ON THE CW.
2:03:42 [cheering]
2:03:48 >> Thank you.
2:04:13 Thank you.
2:04:17 [cheering]
2:04:39 >> [laughter]
2:04:41 >> Oh man, that's good.
2:04:44 >> Well, we missed calling the first pitch
2:04:45 cuz we were watching
2:04:46 >> first two pitches. It's hardy. Uh, munch
2:04:49 into some
2:04:54 >> Tennessee Nashville hot chicken.
2:04:57 >> Book it.
2:04:58 >> Book it. Man, I wanted to ask him to say
2:05:01 book it, but I was like, "Ah, he's going
2:05:03 to eat some chicken, not Hardy's thing.
2:05:04 >> He's going to eat some chicken. That's
2:05:06 going to be just as cool." He said it
2:05:07 got to him on the way out of the booth.
2:05:09 >> So, you you're all America is watching.
2:05:11 Hey. Oh, did he see my benadryil out?
2:05:14 >> He had to have.
2:05:15 >> He must have. as you all were watching.
2:05:17 Hey baby, he's going to leave the booth
2:05:18 and he goes, "Is it really that hot?
2:05:21 >> It's pretty hot." He goes, "Pretty hot.
2:05:22 >> Can I bite it? [laughter]
2:05:29 Jason Swan right up the crotch.
2:05:34 We almost
2:05:36 >> We almost got Hardy to say
2:05:39 >> I can hump."
2:05:40 >> Yeah.
2:05:40 >> Yeah.
2:05:41 >> You can't say that, by the way.
2:05:43 >> Is thrust. Where Where do we draw the
2:05:44 line there? I would just say a lot of
2:05:47 hip movement, man.
2:05:48 >> No, no, no. But it's like it's one
2:05:50 specific move in the Hey Baby, right,
2:05:52 that that really drives it home.
2:06:07 >> Andy Cosgrove at the plate with a man on
2:06:09 first.
2:06:11 [screaming]
2:06:15 Sometimes I forget there's a banana ball
2:06:17 game going on,
2:06:17 >> right?
2:06:19 >> That clock, by the way, bottom of the
2:06:21 six.
2:06:21 >> Yeah, I'm watching it.
2:06:30 >> Animals are ahead in trick plays.
2:06:33 >> Nine to five appropriate for Nashville,
2:06:36 Tennessee.
2:06:38 Cosgrove got him looking
2:06:41 >> backwards K from CD
2:06:44 and that's important to get out number
2:06:46 one now double play gets you out of this
2:06:48 frame right now tailgators need trick
2:06:51 plays desperately man.
2:06:53 Yep.
2:07:00 H takes strike one. That was a good one.
2:07:11 Christian Davis. That was his 92nd
2:07:13 [music] pitch of the night. Drake,
2:07:15 >> you told me 8590, so he surpassed that.
2:07:18 He still he still looks crisp.
2:07:20 >> I know he gave up that single to Swany,
2:07:21 but he immediately goes strike out
2:07:23 looking.
2:07:23 >> Delooters have had a couple guys w up
2:07:25 for a little bit now. I'd expect
2:07:27 Jonathan Hughes, if CD doesn't roll two
2:07:29 here, to come in the ball game to finish
2:07:31 this frame. If he does get out of it,
2:07:33 Jonathan Hughes to come in to start the
2:07:34 seven.
2:07:39 >> I mean, this has been an incredible
2:07:40 outing, right? I mean, has only given up
2:07:43 two runs tonight. Both led to walkoffs
2:07:45 cuz the Tailgator haven't scored yet.
2:07:46 >> He just needed offense.
2:07:47 >> Yeah, he just needed a hair a little bit
2:07:50 of offense.
2:07:52 >> And the tailgator have not figured out
2:07:54 Brett Helton yet. And and even when they
2:07:56 had bases loaded with nobody out
2:07:57 earlier,
2:07:59 >> not a single run came home to score.
2:08:04 Hampton walks out to grab the ball
2:08:07 himself. [laughter]
2:08:09 >> That's a businessman.
2:08:14 >> I think the right way to describe Reese
2:08:16 Hampton is blueco collar. He's a blueco
2:08:18 collar banana ball player. Gritty.
2:08:41 H
2:08:43 INTO CENTER FIELD. TRICK PLAY
2:08:45 OPPORTUNITY for Indie Stanley. He goes
2:08:47 behind the back against his former team.
2:08:49 >> Look it.
2:08:52 >> Had to have it, man.
2:08:55 >> Out number two in the inning.
2:09:08 >> [cheering]
2:09:09 >> This one hitting the sky right side.
2:09:10 Yep. Opportunity for more trick plays.
2:09:14 >> Tip drill. Book it for sunshine.
2:09:18 [cheering]
2:09:18 >> Party animals still leading two to zero,
2:09:21 but held at bay here in the sixth by
2:09:23 Christian Davis as we go to the top of
2:09:24 the seventh on the CW.
2:09:26 Hey,
2:09:44 [music]
2:09:47 you singing me and you know you're
2:09:55 singing and You know you're
2:10:14 [music]
2:10:16 okay. Loft. What did Taj Porter do? His
2:10:18 last AB. Sorry, I was talking to Hardy.
2:10:23 He was hit by pitch.
2:10:24 >> Okay, that's right. his big legs because
2:10:26 of his oblong legs. Stanley,
2:10:29 >> give it up FOR THE PARTY.
2:10:30 >> THAT WAS THE INNING BEFORE Hardy hit by
2:10:33 pitch strikeout. Ball four sprint 643.
2:10:35 >> Hold on. Hold on. Indie. Two strikeouts
2:10:37 now.
2:10:37 >> Strike out. Yeah.
2:10:38 >> Okay.
2:10:39 >> Ball four sprint.
2:10:40 >> Okay.
2:10:41 >> And then 643 double play.
2:10:43 >> Ground out.
2:10:43 >> That was that that was that inning.
2:10:45 >> Okay. Yeah. Then ground out fan lineup.
2:10:47 >> Mhm.
2:10:47 >> What was I watching?
2:10:51 >> Banana ball on the CW.
2:11:01 Back live on the CW.
2:11:06 It's the Party Animals and the Texas
2:11:08 Tailgator. Brett Helton out for his
2:11:10 seventh inning of work. He is still
2:11:12 chasing that complete game. That's cold
2:11:14 strike on Jordan Bar.
2:11:17 Helton. That was one of his fastest
2:11:18 pitches of the night. Shade over 90 mph.
2:11:22 He talked to me about that last week and
2:11:23 he said, "I I really
2:11:26 I only throw as hard as I can throw a
2:11:29 couple of times a game.
2:11:30 >> The rest of it's about location,
2:11:32 changing arm slot,
2:11:35 changing pitch speed
2:11:38 and a single by Jordan Bart.
2:11:40 >> His first hit of the game.
2:11:42 >> Need some runs here, man. Need him in a
2:11:44 very, very, very big way. Right now,
2:11:46 Brett Helton has thrown just a regular
2:11:48 old shut out thus far. I mean, he hasn't
2:11:51 given up a single run tonight. And that
2:11:53 was the first hit that a tailgator has
2:11:56 gotten since the second inning.
2:11:58 >> Oh my.
2:12:03 >> Not first base rider, but first hit
2:12:05 since the second inning.
2:12:14 >> There's a called strike on Taylor
2:12:15 Justice who's one for two.
2:12:28 Justice entered the game hitting 400.
2:12:31 >> He's one for two. So that ticks up a
2:12:33 couple notches.
2:12:33 >> Yep.
2:12:39 His
2:12:40 >> teammate Kyle Martin enter tonight
2:12:41 hitting .405.
2:12:45 Martin is one for three on the evening.
2:12:48 >> Mouth of a base hit by Chase Aup a
2:12:50 second ago.
2:12:52 >> We're in a tough spot when it comes to
2:12:53 this clock here. Greg.
2:12:55 >> Yes, we are.
2:12:58 >> And you I think if you ask Brett Helton,
2:12:59 he'd tell you unequivocally
2:13:02 he wants a full nine innings.
2:13:07 He wants a full nine innings in a
2:13:08 complete game.
2:13:12 still working on a true shut out, too.
2:13:21 >> Trying to go back to back CGs, man.
2:13:25 >> It would be absurd. He's His hair is in
2:13:27 the clothes pins.
2:13:33 >> This is a good way to chase him out if
2:13:35 not base hits at the very least.
2:13:38 Run that pitch count up. He's sitting at
2:13:40 100 as we speak.
2:13:51 Justice way underneath it.
2:13:53 Will Fiser go trick play. Pop it up.
2:14:00 Secure the trick play and ensure that
2:14:02 Bar does not tag up from first.
2:14:04 >> Very smart trick play right there. That
2:14:06 puts you now up at 10 to seven in trick
2:14:08 plays of the party animals. Secure out
2:14:10 number one. And now a double play ball
2:14:12 gets you right out of this inning.
2:14:14 >> Count it for Fischer.
2:14:16 >> Here comes Jose Gonzalez.
2:14:23 >> Later,
2:14:33 >> brother. Yes, he did.
2:14:36 Oh my goodness.
2:14:39 >> It's ruled that he did not swing. Oh my.
2:14:42 And Brett Helton's pretty upset. He's
2:14:44 pointing at the umpire saying, "No, no,
2:14:45 no, no." Let's see replay. Oh my
2:14:48 goodness. He couldn't have gone more.
2:14:51 [cheering]
2:14:56 >> Well, it would have been a two- strike
2:14:57 count anyway. And Jordan Bar was halfway
2:14:59 to second there and decided to stop.
2:15:01 [cheering]
2:15:02 >> Oh, Diga.
2:15:05 Hot pickles. [cheering]
2:15:13 >> Foul balls after foul balls.
2:15:16 That clock drags on.
2:15:21 Now, if you look at the game of Banana
2:15:22 Ball, if you're AN OBJECTIVE VIEWER,
2:15:24 SWING and a miss for Jose Brother
2:15:27 Gonzalez. Brett Helton's throwing up on
2:15:29 the mound.
2:15:32 >> [screaming]
2:15:33 >> Oh my
2:15:36 >> for the sport of banana ball.
2:15:40 >> The best thing in my opinion is is that
2:15:42 ninth inning product is knowing it's
2:15:45 resetting for the fans saying, "Hey,
2:15:46 that timer doesn't matter anymore here
2:15:48 in the ninth. The opposing [music] team,
2:15:49 whichever team can score as many points
2:15:51 as they want
2:15:53 to try to go win a ball game."
2:15:56 The Animals need to quickly get out of
2:15:57 the top of the seventh
2:16:00 and walk off the bottom of the seventh
2:16:01 as fast as possible.
2:16:05 >> And I would be surprised if we don't see
2:16:07 a couple of world's fastest innings
2:16:08 here.
2:16:20 Man, the tailgator bats have just
2:16:22 falling quiet this season
2:16:24 >> against one pitcher tonight.
2:16:25 >> Correct.
2:16:26 >> You know,
2:16:26 >> Garrett Deleno held him down for four
2:16:28 innings on Thursday night.
2:16:30 >> Yeah. Fifth inning they got to him a
2:16:32 bit.
2:16:32 >> Yeah.
2:16:33 >> Last night it was a conglomerate of
2:16:35 seven arms from the Angels.
2:16:36 >> Yeah.
2:16:39 >> This again, they're using their pitching
2:16:41 staff like a college staff would except
2:16:43 for instead of that Bullpin day being
2:16:46 game three, a Sunday game in college.
2:16:48 They've done that a lot on game two.
2:16:54 Or at least they have this weekend. Fans
2:16:56 could help out Hilton again. They've
2:16:57 already caught one.
2:17:01 They did not catch two.
2:17:16 There you go. Todd Porter a single.
2:17:19 >> Oh, Bar wants three.
2:17:22 The play.
2:17:24 He's got three.
2:17:27 That is hustle, man. 180 ft of it from
2:17:29 Jordan Bar.
2:17:31 First run of the night.
2:17:34 Stands 90 feet away for the Texas
2:17:36 Tailgator. And now Jacob Pipperick over
2:17:39 at first.
2:17:50 >> Indiana Stanley
2:17:52 who struck out both times tonight. He's
2:17:54 faced Brett Helton. Big time opportunity
2:17:56 for him here. Tol.
2:18:04 Great pitch from Hton. Couldn't get the
2:18:06 call. brought some ball home
2:18:10 takes a second. Why don't you point five
2:18:12 that before he throws it back to Helton?
2:18:15 >> Good call on that.
2:18:17 >> Yep. You're welcome.
2:18:22 >> Oh my goodness.
2:18:25 Bronson ball home goes for the throw
2:18:27 down against Jacob Pipperick who slides
2:18:29 in safely. That was dangerous. Jordan
2:18:31 Bar was dancing off third base. Second
2:18:33 time tonight Pips stole bag 17 stolen
2:18:36 bases now.
2:18:38 Still second in banana ball.
2:18:45 Help
2:18:46 the one two looking for his sixth K of
2:18:50 the night.
2:18:55 >> The tailgators have been waiting for
2:18:57 that swing this weekend. Stanley could
2:19:00 deliver with it.
2:19:08 Helton's 2-2.
2:19:13 >> Seems like this is paramount, Drake.
2:19:15 They haven't been able to make Brett
2:19:17 Helton crack since the second inning.
2:19:19 And right now, you got two guys in
2:19:21 scoring position.
2:19:22 >> Helton's other two complete games were
2:19:24 117 pitches. He's at that mark right now
2:19:27 here in the top of the seventh. And
2:19:28 Peter Holdton's been down there throwing
2:19:30 for a while in the Animals bullpen along
2:19:31 with Dylan Porter.
2:19:36 >> Peter Holden's on 117 warm-up pitches
2:19:38 right now [laughter] over in the
2:19:40 bullpen. He's been out there for a good
2:19:43 bit.
2:19:52 >> Oh my goodness. Another two two. What a
2:19:55 battle this is.
2:19:57 Yeah.
2:20:00 >> Everything stops for a moment. Helton
2:20:03 was boogieing off the mound. He thought
2:20:04 he had a backwards K.
2:20:07 >> That's off.
2:20:08 >> That's off.
2:20:09 >> That's a good call.
2:20:12 >> Payoff is a huge one. This could be two
2:20:14 runs for the Tailgator.
2:20:22 >> Pressure mounts still.
2:20:29 Held has thrown 120 pitches in this
2:20:32 game.
2:20:34 >> His 121st is another big one. Payoff
2:20:39 with two down and two in scoring
2:20:40 position. The righty.
2:20:47 36 of his 121 pitches have come on this
2:20:51 plate appearance.
2:21:06 3-2.
2:21:08 >> Helton wins the battle. It's up TO HIS
2:21:11 DEFENSE. SWAN IS CALLED OFF BY SKULL.
2:21:15 PARTY ANIMALS
2:21:17 KEEP A TWO0 LEAD AND HAVE NOT ALLOWED A
2:21:20 run tonight here on the CW
2:21:36 as we all join in together to sing Don't
2:21:40 Stop Believing.
2:21:45 Just a small town girl
2:21:49 >> living in a [singing] lonely world.
2:21:53 She took the midnight train going
2:21:55 [singing]
2:21:57 way
2:22:01 just a [singing] boy
2:22:05 born and raising.
2:22:09 He took the midnight training [singing]
2:22:12 anywhere.
2:22:22 >> Nashville, you're sounding beautiful.
2:22:33 A singer in a smokey [music and singing]
2:22:35 room.
2:22:37 The smell wanted
2:22:41 >> for a smile they can share
2:22:42 [singing and music] the night. It goes
2:22:45 on and on and on [singing] and on.
2:22:49 Strangers [music]
2:22:51 waiting
2:22:54 up and down the
2:22:56 [singing]
2:22:57 shadows
2:22:59 searching in the night.
2:23:05 Don't stop.
2:23:10 Hold on to that feeling.
2:23:13 Sweet life.
2:23:20 >> Back here on the CW, the party animals,
2:23:23 the Texas Tailgator. [music]
2:23:26 >> And the story of this game is Brent H.
2:23:30 Seven innings pitched, zero runs
2:23:33 allowed. It's party down. Nashville zone
2:23:37 [screaming]
2:23:38 >> has 10,000 folks on their feet with the
2:23:40 don't stop believing and
2:23:42 >> Brett Loft this I I just don't know. I
2:23:45 mean there's one one man one thing
2:23:49 standing between the Texas Tailgator
2:23:52 >> and an opportunity to win this game.
2:23:54 >> Yeah. And he wears number 10 in black
2:23:55 and pink. Yep. It's it's exactly who it
2:23:57 is right now for the Tailgator. They're
2:23:59 going to throw one of the two Bretts on
2:24:02 the roster this year. Brett Allen from
2:24:04 Australia.
2:24:06 Brett Donny Allen. He threw on Thursday
2:24:08 night in game one.
2:24:10 Guy's going to come in and throw here in
2:24:11 game three.
2:24:14 And he'll have to face a man who has yet
2:24:16 to be retired tonight. Chase Auff two
2:24:17 for two with a couple singles.
2:24:20 Can I give you a fun fact about Brett
2:24:22 Allen that is pertinent to what we're
2:24:23 seeing from Brett Helton?
2:24:26 >> Donnie threw a complete game. 11
2:24:28 strikeouts in the College World Series.
2:24:32 151 pitches
2:24:34 and Helton through seven is approaching
2:24:36 125.
2:24:39 >> Tough play in right. Jose Gonzalez
2:24:43 cannot make it in foul territory.
2:24:45 Was at Reinhardt University where Brett
2:24:48 Allen had the single season saves
2:24:50 record. See brother just barely missed
2:24:52 that ball. When they get to the
2:24:53 postseason at Reinhardt, his head coach
2:24:55 tells him, he says, "Brett, I I need you
2:24:57 to start." And he goes out there and
2:24:58 says, "I can do whatever you need me to,
2:24:59 coach." 151 pitches from Brett Allen.
2:25:06 >> That's some Kevin Cobb stuff. The old
2:25:07 Arkansas pitcher kind of do it all guy.
2:25:09 Madison Bumgner
2:25:11 at the pro level.
2:25:16 Oh, pistol squat from Brett Allen. Low
2:25:19 in
2:25:22 [cheering]
2:25:22 >> Drake. The eighth inning may be our
2:25:24 final inning.
2:25:29 It's going to be tight.
2:25:30 >> It looks a lot like that right now.
2:25:33 >> I don't Great pitch.
2:25:38 I don't know how we're going to squeeze
2:25:39 an entire inning into less than 10
2:25:41 minutes.
2:25:45 Strike out. Looking for Chase. A cup.
2:25:48 Brett Allen got him.
2:25:52 >> And the animals taking their time here.
2:25:57 Brett Helton taking his time too.
2:25:59 >> Yeah, he has been.
2:26:01 I
2:26:01 >> think that's one of the things that
2:26:03 >> puts you in a tough spot here. It's the
2:26:06 question of
2:26:11 >> what is
2:26:13 the best opportunity both to win and to
2:26:16 carry the sport?
2:26:17 >> Correct.
2:26:17 >> And what what's the confluence? What do
2:26:19 those two things merge?
2:26:24 Hey, do we speed ourselves up to the
2:26:26 point that it becomes tough to win the
2:26:28 game? That's a question for both teams,
2:26:30 right? For for Brett Allen, if he goes
2:26:32 too fast here, couple ball force
2:26:34 sprints.
2:26:36 >> That's a trick play for Taylor Justice.
2:26:38 Tanner Thomas.
2:26:40 >> OH,
2:26:40 >> HE BACK FLIPS ON FOR SPACE.
2:26:43 >> TAYLOR JUSTICE, A SHOWMAN. And now the
2:26:46 equalizer's back in the conversation.
2:26:48 It's 10 to eight animals.
2:26:49 >> That was the worst I've had all year.
2:26:51 I'm so sorry everybody.
2:26:55 >> Okay.
2:26:55 >> Uhhuh. The base.
2:27:05 >> There's a ball roped, I should say, to
2:27:08 left. Noah Fisher.
2:27:19 So again, if you speed up Brett Allen,
2:27:20 he goes couple ball force sprints,
2:27:22 allows a couple hits, that could be
2:27:23 detrimental to the tailgator.
2:27:26 >> He needs a quick out to get us to the
2:27:28 eight. And you'll ask Brett Hton to move
2:27:31 quick himself,
2:27:44 >> swinging a miss. YOU CAN HEAR DONNIE
2:27:46 ALLEN YELLING FROM THE FIELD ALL THE WAY
2:27:48 HERE IN THE BOOTH. BRENT ALLEN'S FIRED
2:27:51 UP. TEXAS TAILGATOR have some momentum.
2:27:55 Down two on the CW,
2:28:10 [cheering] please stand. I do believe my
2:28:12 good friend Panda has uh something for
2:28:15 them. Do you not?
2:28:17 >> I do. AJ, ladies and gentlemen, your
2:28:20 attention, please.
2:28:27 >> Who wants a t-shirt? [screaming]
2:28:31 [cheering]
2:28:41 >> [cheering]
2:28:49 [cheering]
2:28:52 >> Heat. Heat.
2:28:56 [cheering]
2:29:01 Heat. Heat.
2:29:09 [cheering]
2:29:15 [cheering]
2:29:35 Back here on the CW party animals
2:29:37 leading the tailgator two points to zero
2:29:39 and Brett we're moving quick. A two-hour
2:29:41 time limit is ticking down as Dylan
2:29:43 Porter has entered the game for the
2:29:44 Animals. Brett Helton a pitch shy of 125
2:29:48 pitches tonight exits the ball game
2:29:50 after seven scoreless.
2:29:54 Yeah, the shade under eight minutes
2:29:56 left.
2:29:56 >> Yep. Porter's got to move fast as do the
2:29:58 Texas tailgator.
2:30:07 >> That is if you want to get to the ninth.
2:30:10 Otherwise, you play it out as this being
2:30:12 the final inning.
2:30:13 >> Tailgators have to worry about scoring
2:30:14 runs and they could potentially turn in
2:30:17 the points here.
2:30:26 So, if the tailgator put up a five spot,
2:30:30 >> that's that's a big hypothetical, but
2:30:32 the Animals have seen that before as
2:30:34 Jason Art strikes out and that that time
2:30:37 expires. It becomes five points for the
2:30:40 guys in blue.
2:30:41 >> I see a golden hood down there in the
2:30:43 Tailgator dugout.
2:30:48 The Tailgator will replace their 10-hole
2:30:51 Jordan Hussein with very likely Kyle
2:30:53 Martin.
2:30:57 The Texas Tailgator are invoking the
2:31:00 golden batter rule. Now batting IN PLACE
2:31:03 OF JORDAN HUSSEIN IS THE tailgator
2:31:06 golden batter. Please welcome Kyle Kmart
2:31:11 Martin.
2:31:13 Last night in the ninth inning, Kyle
2:31:15 Martin hit his 16th home run of the
2:31:17 year. Set the new single season banana
2:31:20 ball record. Now Kmart with his 19th
2:31:24 golden batter appearance this year. By
2:31:26 the way, also continuing to be a single
2:31:29 season banana ball record with one swing
2:31:32 of the bat could score the first run of
2:31:34 the night for the tailgator.
2:31:38 And again at that 6 minutes now 559
2:31:40 expires that run becomes a point. This
2:31:43 would be the final inning.
2:31:48 Martin went
2:31:51 and I give you another scenario. This I
2:31:52 know this is a tight one but there's a
2:31:55 way Martin goes home run.
2:32:01 >> It's tight but there there's still a way
2:32:03 the Tailgators win that equalizer point.
2:32:05 They're only down by two trick plays.
2:32:06 Well, if this ends up being
2:32:08 >> correct the final inning, right? They'll
2:32:09 lose it.
2:32:10 >> Correct.
2:32:10 >> But if they can get through this eighth
2:32:12 >> with a couple of quick trick plays
2:32:14 defensively.
2:32:17 >> That's a best case scenario.
2:32:19 >> I just don't know how we're going to be
2:32:20 able to make it to the ninth inning at
2:32:21 this point.
2:32:23 >> Going to have to have two quick outs
2:32:25 here and then one of the quickest
2:32:26 innings ever in the home.
2:32:27 >> A lot of strikes. Yeah, either a lot of
2:32:28 strikes or a walk-off. Porter going
2:32:31 trick pitch for entertainment's sake.
2:32:33 Kyle Martin into left field.
2:32:37 It's down. Foul.
2:32:39 >> Fischer knew he didn't have room for it.
2:32:41 >> And they have Kmart way shifted
2:32:44 >> to pull side. So you're seeing Noah
2:32:46 Fischer play off the foul line there.
2:33:04 Two- two.
2:33:08 This is a tough play. The shift makes it
2:33:11 tough, but Bloomer completes it. And
2:33:14 Porter good on him is calling for the
2:33:15 ball. Same ball, ball, ball. Let's go.
2:33:20 >> Bronnie jogging back behind the plate.
2:33:23 The animal setting up defensively,
2:33:24 recovering from the shift.
2:33:28 And Brett Helton, fans first, throws 125
2:33:32 pitches and then goes to the crowd to
2:33:33 sign autographs.
2:33:35 >> Seven scoreless innings tonight.
2:33:40 >> And I'll tell you this too, Brett, I I I
2:33:42 promise I've been in that locker room
2:33:43 enough of the animals. The last thing
2:33:44 they want to have happen is get a third
2:33:46 out here and the clock expire in the
2:33:48 eighth and that's how they win. They
2:33:49 don't want to win that way,
2:33:50 >> right?
2:33:53 >> You will not see them stall. I don't
2:33:55 think you'd see any team in this league
2:33:56 stall on purpose. That's not a great
2:33:59 product of the fans and they know that.
2:34:00 They want to be fans first with the way
2:34:02 they play Banana Bowl.
2:34:04 >> Swinging a miss for Watson.
2:34:06 >> And the Tailgator are the long team in
2:34:08 the league this year to have made it to
2:34:11 the ninth inning in all 33 of their
2:34:13 games entering tonight.
2:34:14 >> And I like their approach. They can have
2:34:16 each guy go to the box and strike out.
2:34:18 >> Yeah.
2:34:21 But instead, they're they're putting
2:34:22 themselves they are not taking the bat
2:34:24 out of the hands of guys like Art Martin
2:34:27 and Watson here.
2:34:34 Swing and a miss for Watson. The
2:34:36 Tailgators will sprint into the field.
2:34:39 >> Second time Wadi Wo Watson has been
2:34:41 struck out tonight.
2:34:44 >> Porter has two Kays on the evening in
2:34:46 his three outs there in the eighth. Now
2:34:49 this turns into a crazy scenario. Drake
2:34:51 told because the animals if we don't get
2:34:54 three outs before this clock ends.
2:34:56 >> Look at this.
2:34:57 >> Reese Miller's in the ball game. But if
2:34:58 we don't get
2:34:59 >> ball home, they're they're stripping him
2:35:00 immediately. They're going pick crew.
2:35:02 They're there. The animals as a as a
2:35:04 bout of sportsmanship. Sprint out to
2:35:07 Bronson Ball home. Take all of his gear
2:35:09 off of as fast as they can and then
2:35:10 throw him in the box. That right there,
2:35:14 that's a sign of the party animals
2:35:15 showing the utmost respect. The Texas
2:35:17 Tailgator try to get this full thing in
2:35:19 as Reese Miller has to go fast.
2:35:21 >> Yeah. And it's their closer Reese Miller
2:35:23 who leads the Manaval Championship
2:35:25 League in saves this year.
2:35:27 >> Ronnie takes high.
2:35:28 >> Wow. Reese has got to catch it and go,
2:35:31 man.
2:35:31 >> Yep. And he's got to throw strikes.
2:35:34 Trick play opportunity. Oh my goodness.
2:35:37 That's
2:35:39 >> That's TWO TWO TRICK PLAYS.
2:35:41 >> BOOK IT. BOOK IT. NOW YOU'RE AT 10 UP,
2:35:43 BUT IT doesn't mean ANYTHING IF YOU
2:35:44 DON'T MAKE IT TO THE NINTH INNING.
2:35:48 THE TAILGATORS ARE ONE trick play away
2:35:51 from the equalizer point. And if they
2:35:53 can get two quick outs via a trick play,
2:35:56 we'll go to the ninth. A 2-1 ball game
2:35:58 with three straight equalizers toward
2:36:00 the blue.
2:36:05 The fans give the tailgator a huge out
2:36:07 here. No, it bounces off the roof.
2:36:09 >> Reese is catching it and going, man.
2:36:11 >> Yep. Has to.
2:36:14 And if the animals knocked a base hit
2:36:16 here,
2:36:17 >> tough. That'd be brutal for the time
2:36:20 standpoint.
2:36:26 >> Taj is quickly getting those yellow
2:36:27 banana balls back to Reese Miller on the
2:36:29 bob.
2:36:29 >> Both these teams are doing everything
2:36:30 they can.
2:36:33 Ballard
2:36:35 into left. STANLEY BACK. TRICK PLAY.
2:36:39 >> BOOK IT.
2:36:39 >> HE'S GOT IT.
2:36:40 >> YES,
2:36:41 >> THAT IS THE EQUALIZER POINT.
2:36:42 >> POTENTIALLY. POTENTIALLY.
2:36:46 >> YOU GOT TO GET JAKE SKULL OUT BEFORE 50.
2:36:48 >> STILL TWO TO ZERO. The score is still
2:36:50 two to zero. Oh, that called strike is
2:36:52 outside.
2:36:54 Everyone's being sped up. It is still
2:36:57 two to zero.
2:37:04 THAT'S OUTSIDE. SKULL'S BEEN ROBBED
2:37:06 TWICE. Everybody sped up. And now Skull
2:37:08 is saying, "We can't have that."
2:37:11 Inside of 30 seconds to go. Swinging a
2:37:13 miss. Quick.
2:37:16 >> REESE SMEER WITH HIS QUICKEST INNING OF
2:37:19 THE YEAR.
2:37:21 >> GETS A STRIKE OUT. EARNS THE BOYS IN
2:37:23 BLUE AND ORANGE THE EQUALIZER POINT. AND
2:37:26 WE MAKE IT TO THE NINTH BY THE SKIN OF
2:37:28 OUR TEETH. TRAILING TWO TO ONE.
2:37:32 >> And the homepoint umpire is staring into
2:37:34 the party animals dugout still. It's
2:37:36 it's as good as a standoff. He's been in
2:37:39 the same spot
2:37:41 for the last 40 seconds.
2:37:47 >> And there now, now here's Bartman and
2:37:50 Mike Vasis.
2:37:52 There's the homepoint umpire tapping
2:37:54 Bronson Ball home.
2:37:57 >> Hunter Ives.
2:37:58 >> Hunter Ives. Man, he now he walks toward
2:38:01 the party animals dugout. This just got
2:38:03 chaotic.
2:38:04 >> He's asking for bananas.
2:38:05 >> Banana balls. This just got chaotic.
2:38:08 >> Baba was heated. Jake Skull's heated
2:38:10 there.
2:38:10 >> Yeah, I mean Hunter Ives called like it
2:38:13 is
2:38:14 couple balls out on Skull and every
2:38:16 again I I I feel for that spot and the
2:38:19 spot he has put in as a home plate
2:38:21 umpire because everybody is moving very
2:38:24 quickly to get you to the ninth inning.
2:38:28 [cheering]
2:38:28 That's where Skull turned back to him
2:38:30 and said two. only got two on me.
2:38:33 >> And it could all be null and void here
2:38:34 if Peter Holden closes things out. There
2:38:38 is a We'll keep you right here. There is
2:38:40 a a video that'll play on the board that
2:38:42 highlights the Party Animals relief
2:38:44 pitchers, but we'll tell you a bit about
2:38:45 Peter Holden in the meantime. The
2:38:48 expectation was that we would not see
2:38:50 Peter Holden. We thought we'd really
2:38:52 only get
2:38:54 >> Brett Help.
2:38:58 Yeah, and Peter's coming in
2:39:01 after Dylan Porter
2:39:04 went strikeout, pop out, strike out. And
2:39:07 the tailgator do it yet again, man. Teen
2:39:09 equalizer points, by the way. But they
2:39:11 win it by the skin of their teeth. A
2:39:13 little over 20 seconds left as we make
2:39:15 it here to the ninth. But Pistol Pete
2:39:18 coming on to save this one in a two to
2:39:20 one ball game. And the Tailgator, by the
2:39:22 way, have a point tonight, Drake. And
2:39:24 they haven't scored a single run
2:39:26 offensively. That is the equalizer point
2:39:28 here in Banana Mallal where if the Wade
2:39:29 team has more trick plays than the home
2:39:31 team entering the final inning, they
2:39:33 will be awarded a point.
2:39:35 >> I want to give a huge nod of respect. I
2:39:37 know they're my guys. I give a huge n of
2:39:39 respect to party.
2:39:40 >> Yep. 100%.
2:39:41 >> They could have just take take all the
2:39:44 way right there against Reese Miller.
2:39:45 >> They went up there in swing mode
2:39:46 >> and what they went in swing mode and the
2:39:48 tailgator they went in swing mode
2:39:50 knowing the tailgator could win the
2:39:51 equalizer.
2:39:52 >> And Reese Miller, big credit to him. Not
2:39:54 only were the party animals in swing
2:39:55 mode, Reese filled it up. He threw one
2:39:56 ball in that inning
2:39:59 >> and the and again the Animals knew, hey,
2:40:01 we can take all the way and go home
2:40:02 winners. Two zero ball game over.
2:40:05 >> Now this is a big frame and obviously
2:40:07 trailing by a point, but you got two,
2:40:09 three, and four up here for the
2:40:10 Tailgators. Nick Lopez, Kyle Martin, and
2:40:12 Jordan Bart against Pistol Pete. Man,
2:40:15 >> no golden batter. Wouldn't need it,
2:40:17 >> right?
2:40:19 My goodness, [cheering] do we have a
2:40:20 ball game.
2:40:23 The Texas Tailgator have a man on after
2:40:25 a loud Nick Lopez single.
2:40:30 >> You mentioned that golden batter by the
2:40:32 way. Yep.
2:40:32 >> Here he comes up to the dish hitting in
2:40:34 his regular old three spot. Kyle Martin
2:40:37 went Yaya in the ninth last night. We
2:40:39 told you that during his golden batter
2:40:41 in the eighth inning. So far tonight he
2:40:44 has a double in four at bats. One for
2:40:46 four.
2:40:50 Martin pops this one up.
2:40:56 >> Broken bat.
2:41:00 [cheering]
2:41:02 >> Gives way to Jordan Barton.
2:41:06 >> And here comes Drew Gillespie.
2:41:10 So the Animals
2:41:12 playing matchups now. Yeah, Baba wanted
2:41:15 to use his lefty Peter Holden against
2:41:18 the switchhitting Nick Lopez and gets
2:41:20 the left-handed Kyle Martin.
2:41:23 >> Now you see righty righty against Bar
2:41:27 Taylor Justice comes up right after him.
2:41:32 >> This is a and the score is not going to
2:41:34 show it and I don't know if anything in
2:41:36 the stat book's really going to show it
2:41:37 the way that we're seeing it. This is
2:41:38 one of the wildest banana ball games
2:41:40 that I've been a part of.
2:41:41 >> Yep.
2:41:48 Gillespie can close it out. Gets a
2:41:50 strike call.
2:42:14 That's low. Great take from Bark. I
2:42:16 don't think Nick Lopez will be off on
2:42:18 any of these pitches.
2:42:19 >> No. Li is a league average runner.
2:42:22 >> Yep.
2:42:24 >> And with the way the games have ended
2:42:25 the last couple nights for the Texas
2:42:26 Tailgator, Yep. I think they want to
2:42:28 stay put.
2:42:30 >> Bar into center field.
2:42:32 >> That's a base hit.
2:42:35 And the tailgator can go to Pippers if
2:42:37 they'd like here.
2:42:39 >> And they do.
2:42:42 >> Pep is going to be running over at first
2:42:43 in place of Jordan Bart.
2:42:45 >> And he is the
2:42:46 >> he's the go-ahead run.
2:42:47 >> That's correct.
2:42:48 >> Nick Lopez is the tying run at second.
2:42:50 >> That's correct.
2:42:50 >> And at the dish is Taylor Justice who's
2:42:53 one for three tonight and is currently
2:42:54 riding a 31 game on base streak.
2:43:00 >> Righty riding. Animals want hard contact
2:43:03 on the ground. A double play ball as
2:43:06 Gillespie steps off. Checks Lopez.
2:43:12 No throwing right back to it
2:43:18 again. The Tailgator trail in this ball
2:43:20 game two to one. They haven't scored a
2:43:22 single run tonight. That point that they
2:43:24 earned was the equalizer point from
2:43:26 their defense.
2:43:32 OH MY GOODNESS. BALL GETS AWAY. Justice
2:43:36 does not opt to steal first base
2:43:39 and wisely. Now they're runners at
2:43:42 second and third. More importantly, no
2:43:44 double play opportunity here for the
2:43:46 party.
2:43:48 >> And a two- count. A ball force sprint in
2:43:51 this spot. We're a couple pitches away
2:43:52 from it. Would give the tailgator a 3
2:43:54 to2 lead.
2:43:57 >> Infield now in for the party.
2:44:07 Drew and Bronny's trying to get on the
2:44:08 same page here. Can't have a mound
2:44:10 visit. See Brew Yep. Drew and Bronny
2:44:14 yelling at each other.
2:44:19 Worthy to note last night Eddie Castro
2:44:21 catching Drew. Tonight Bratz and B
2:44:23 trying to get back on that same page.
2:44:29 That's there.
2:44:33 >> The moments don't get much bigger than
2:44:35 this. Animals can sweep. Gators can
2:44:39 salvage the weekend.
2:44:45 Swing and a miss.
2:44:48 Two on him. Now
2:44:54 Gillespie HAS WORKED HIMSELF BACK IN IT.
2:44:59 2-2 with two in SCORING POSITION AND ONE
2:45:01 DOWN IN THE NINTH.
2:45:13 [cheering]
2:45:13 >> Is it caught by THE FANS? THE PARTY THAT
2:45:15 WAS EMOTIONALLY SAYING IT WAS CAUGHT BY
2:45:17 THE FANS. JASON SWAN IS INSENSED DOWN
2:45:19 THE FIRST BASELINE. SKULLS IN SENSED IN
2:45:22 RIGHT PORTER AS WELL. THEY ARE clearly
2:45:25 clearly fired up with the umpire and
2:45:27 crew saying that it was caught by the
2:45:28 fans and they want a review.
2:45:32 There's no way we would have an angle of
2:45:34 that. It was buried so deep on the
2:45:35 concourse.
2:45:36 >> Hunter Ives is calling for the umpires
2:45:38 to meet up.
2:45:39 >> This could be an umpire review. This
2:45:41 could be an official challenge.
2:45:42 >> They can initiate a challenge. Skulls
2:45:44 calling for the fans to pop the
2:45:46 confetti.
2:45:47 >> Now Joe Mik's coming out. He's having
2:45:50 words with Sean Fluke that they're
2:45:52 [laughter] they're having a good laugh.
2:45:56 >> That's the fieriest guy in this league
2:45:58 with the teddy bear of the league.
2:46:04 >> Five eyes now down the third baseline
2:46:06 >> AND AND CONFIRMED BY ZACK Fangelo the
2:46:08 director.
2:46:08 >> Look at this guy. HE'S ON THE FIELD.
2:46:10 >> HE SAID, "I CAUGHT IT." HE SAID, "I JUST
2:46:13 CAUGHT THAT."
2:46:14 >> WHAT A clean catch.
2:46:20 Do we have an official ruling on the
2:46:22 field?
2:46:22 >> Well, Andrew Hunter Ives just kept
2:46:24 holding up two.
2:46:25 >> Correct. I at no point did we see a very
2:46:28 clear indication of what the umpires
2:46:30 wanted to call
2:46:32 >> and they're going to the monitor. Okay,
2:46:34 let's see what we got.
2:46:34 >> I'm unsure what the official call on the
2:46:36 field is.
2:46:37 >> Oh, we might beat you.
2:46:39 >> That's going to go past.
2:46:40 >> That's on the concourse.
2:46:42 >> Correct. Correct. It would have to be a
2:46:44 camera on our third base side or our
2:46:47 center field camera that caught an
2:46:49 angle. Otherwise, there is no way to see
2:46:51 it. And here's the deal, Brad. I I
2:46:54 you've got the fan on the field right
2:46:56 now saying, "I cleanly caught it." Wow.
2:46:58 >> But you can't just
2:47:01 >> You can't just believe the guy is even
2:47:03 over there talking to him.
2:47:06 >> He's got his son on the field. Party
2:47:08 animals say thanks for trying. But after
2:47:11 further review, we're getting word
2:47:12 officially it is not a fan caught foul
2:47:14 ball. My goodness, what a break in the
2:47:17 action here.
2:47:19 A minute and a half of confusion gives
2:47:23 way to a huge spot. Still 2-2, two in
2:47:27 scoring position.
2:47:30 Gillespie
2:47:40 >> [cheering]
2:47:44 >> This thing's been crazy to
2:47:57 Taylor Justice going to battle right
2:47:59 now.
2:48:07 Gillespie,
2:48:10 the bad bad man from Albuquerque. Is he
2:48:12 in his bag?
2:48:16 [cheering and applause]
2:48:17 I think he is. But Taylor Justice
2:48:20 is playing spoiler at an elite level
2:48:22 right now.
2:48:32 [music]
2:48:32 This is banana ball.
2:48:37 2-2.
2:48:40 >> Fans could do it cleanly this time. They
2:48:42 really want to.
2:48:46 They do not.
2:48:53 That deep breath from Justice.
2:48:57 Pitch number 12 in this at bat to
2:49:02 >> And it's still only 22. Yep. STILL ONLY
2:49:05 ONE OUT. TAILGATOR'S GOT TWO IN SCORED
2:49:07 POSITION.
2:49:13 >> DID HE GO? DID HE GO? NO, HE DIDN'T.
2:49:18 >> Let's see a replay.
2:49:23 >> Ooh, that he did not go.
2:49:25 >> Barely held do it. He did do it.
2:49:28 >> Incredible from Taylor Justice. He did
2:49:31 not go. One of the at BATS OF THE YEAR.
2:49:34 >> PAYOFF PITCH FROM GILLESPIE. WHAT WILL
2:49:36 THE RESULT BE?
2:49:42 >> JUSTICE [screaming]
2:49:43 LEFT FIELD UNLOAD. THE TEXAS TAILGATOR
2:49:47 [cheering] LEAD THIS BALL GAME FOUR TO
2:49:50 TWO OF THE BAD TAYLOR JUSTICE
2:49:54 after a 14 pitch at bat.
2:49:58 And no runs have been scored tonight for
2:50:01 the Blue Orange. But the first three are
2:50:05 points in the final frame
2:50:08 of Florida.
2:50:12 Home run number [screaming] seven for
2:50:14 Taylor Justice.
2:50:19 That [screaming] is banana ball.
2:50:31 AND THE BAT SPIKE OF THE YEAR, THE
2:50:33 HELMET SPIKE of the century
2:50:36 in what might just BE THE BEST BATTLE
2:50:39 YOU'LL SEE IN any banana ball game this
2:50:41 weekend. Inning in a three-run yaya.
2:50:51 Jose Brother Gonzalez.
2:50:55 Hey, don't go anywhere. It's the top of
2:50:57 the night and the party animals
2:51:00 have Jason Swan, Andy Cosgrove, and Ree
2:51:02 Hampton. Two, three, and four do up.
2:51:20 I mean, he got all of that banana ball.
2:51:28 [cheering]
2:51:37 >> And and and the party animals are still
2:51:39 incredibly upset with what they saw as a
2:51:43 fan caught foul ball. Drake, we made it
2:51:45 to the ninth inning, by the way, by 20
2:51:47 seconds.
2:51:48 >> And again, full credit to to the party
2:51:50 animals
2:51:52 >> out of respect for this game, out of and
2:51:55 you looked at me during a commercial
2:51:57 break and said, "We're not making nine
2:51:59 because mathematically it felt
2:52:02 impossible." And Reese Miller is a guy
2:52:04 that does not work with a whole lot of
2:52:06 pace usually because he's closing in the
2:52:07 ninth inning. Had his second quickest
2:52:10 inning of the year in that bottom of the
2:52:11 eighth going three up and three down.
2:52:13 Tailgators recorded three trick plays,
2:52:15 winning the equalizer point.
2:52:18 >> And B, I told you if the Party Animals
2:52:20 wanted to, they could have ended this
2:52:22 ball game. Yeah.
2:52:23 >> Two to zero with the time running out.
2:52:26 And Party Panda saying fans, the clock
2:52:28 has expired. Go home.
2:52:31 But they wanted this. They wanted a
2:52:34 moment where they could fight toe-to-toe
2:52:36 with the Texas Tailgator in the ninth
2:52:37 inning.
2:52:40 >> And the party the party plaza has been
2:52:41 long delayed.
2:52:42 >> Yeah. Taj Porter, by the way, three for
2:52:44 three tonight. Has reached base all four
2:52:46 times
2:52:47 >> against his former team, the Party
2:52:48 Animals. And M Danford will pinch run
2:52:51 for him at first base.
2:52:55 [cheering]
2:53:10 We will go to the ninth. The Party
2:53:13 Animals were ahead two points to zero
2:53:17 in the eighth inning. Since then, the
2:53:19 Tailgator have won the equalizer
2:53:23 on a last ditch chance.
2:53:25 And then on this home run from Taylor
2:53:27 Justice,
2:53:29 a 42 lead for the boys from Texas. And
2:53:33 Brent, I I said earlier, we'll keep it
2:53:35 right here. I said earlier and I stopped
2:53:37 myself.
2:53:37 >> I got to stop you right now. I've never
2:53:39 seen Taylor Justic that excited in his
2:53:41 banana ball career after what was such
2:53:43 an elite battle. The tailgator hadn't
2:53:46 scored the entire night, Drake. That
2:53:48 point came from the equalizer point.
2:53:49 That's the lone swing that has played at
2:53:51 any runs the entire night. All three of
2:53:54 them. And in the final frame turned into
2:53:55 points and what we shouldn't even made
2:53:58 it to the night. Heck, there's people
2:54:00 here in this stadium that said that at
2:54:02 bat should have been OVER BECAUSE A FAN
2:54:04 allegedly caught a foul ball. Most of us
2:54:06 didn't even see it.
2:54:08 Yeah, it's on the concourse. So, the
2:54:10 party was jumping up and down.
2:54:12 >> He caught it. He caught it. The fan runs
2:54:13 on the field. He caught it. He said, "My
2:54:15 glove. Look at it." Wasn't enough proof
2:54:18 that of course, right? You don't have
2:54:19 video evidence. Reese Miller comes out
2:54:22 try to close [music] the door. Um
2:54:28 I I said it in the top of the eighth
2:54:30 when Dylan Porter was out there.
2:54:33 The best case scenario for the Tailgator
2:54:35 is that they get out quick and can come
2:54:37 back and notch a couple of trick plays
2:54:39 and win that equalizer in the bottom
2:54:40 half of the inning, but they got to go
2:54:41 fast. I I stopped myself from saying it
2:54:43 because it seemed so impossible
2:54:47 with Porter out there and the tailgator
2:54:49 the dish having not scored a run all
2:54:51 night. It seemed impossible. We could
2:54:52 get multiple trick three trick plays in
2:54:55 the bottom of the eighth and still get
2:54:57 to the ninth.
2:55:00 And again, these two teams did that.
2:55:04 >> Yeah.
2:55:05 >> The party animals and tailgators
2:55:06 understanding the importance of the
2:55:08 ninth inning got us here. And now we
2:55:10 play it out.
2:55:12 >> And thanks to that man,
2:55:13 >> we're in the bottom of the ninth.
2:55:15 >> And him too. I mean, like you said, him
2:55:17 filling it up the zone in the bottom of
2:55:18 the eighth, going three up and three
2:55:20 down. Now Reese Miller is going to try
2:55:22 to do something he hasn't done the
2:55:24 entire year, and that's get the final
2:55:25 six outs of a ball game here for the
2:55:27 Texas tailgate. Like you said, he's got
2:55:30 to do it against 2,34 of the party
2:55:31 animals. Jason Swan, Andy Cosgrove, and
2:55:34 Reese Hampton. And they still have their
2:55:36 golden batter, which they have not used
2:55:38 the entire weekend.
2:55:39 >> I don't think they'll use it here.
2:55:42 >> Two, three, and four. I know you want
2:55:44 the bat in Jake Skull's hands, but who
2:55:47 do you remove it from?
2:55:54 That's where if the party animals really
2:55:55 wanted to, they would have used the
2:55:56 golden batter in the in the eighth as
2:55:59 it's 3 0 on Swan.
2:56:04 Miller's control has been one of his
2:56:05 best qualities
2:56:08 that I've seen watching from home here.
2:56:10 He misses badly on all four.
2:56:15 >> It's alo supporting the black at pink at
2:56:16 home.
2:56:18 >> Swani's on it first. Yeah,
2:56:19 >> you're tied runs at the dish here.
2:56:22 >> I mean, just like that, don't give an
2:56:23 eye.
2:56:23 >> And you leave Swan out there
2:56:25 >> 100%.
2:56:25 >> You leave it with his speed, you leave
2:56:27 Swan out there.
2:56:36 >> Cosg Gro said, "What am I supposed to do
2:56:37 with that?"
2:56:45 >> He's down 02.
2:56:48 Miller
2:56:50 in 25 and a third innings pitch this
2:56:52 year. Has 25 strikeouts.
2:57:00 >> He's inside on Cosgro. Oo, and the
2:57:02 tailgators can't believe that one.
2:57:06 >> Hunter Ives has an impossible job right
2:57:08 now. And his last 25 minutes of real
2:57:10 time have been really
2:57:13 strenuous.
2:57:16 He is doing everything he can to rise to
2:57:18 that occasion. I feel for him.
2:57:20 >> God bless that man. I do too.
2:57:21 >> Absolutely.
2:57:22 >> Give him a big hug and dinner tonight.
2:57:27 >> Cosbro fighting his first hit of the
2:57:30 weekend Thursday night. First inning was
2:57:33 an inning winning home run
2:57:36 to walk off Brett Sanchez.
2:57:39 He didn't go. It's 32.
2:57:43 A ball for a sprint will put them on the
2:57:45 corners with no one down.
2:57:57 >> RUNNER GOES HIT THE BALL FOUR.
2:58:00 [cheering] Swan is stuck in SECOND BASE.
2:58:03 HE DIDN'T KNOW.
2:58:08 >> And that plays out as true as a ball
2:58:11 force sprint can.
2:58:12 >> [cheering]
2:58:13 >> They're on the corners. Still no one
2:58:15 down.
2:58:18 >> Swan could have come around to score
2:58:20 possibly from first base there with the
2:58:21 jump that he got.
2:58:23 >> And that's great situational awareness
2:58:25 by Swany. He's seen everybody crashing
2:58:27 behind him. And then a hard 90 to third.
2:58:29 >> Yep.
2:58:30 >> Oh my goodness. Reese Hampton the
2:58:33 fourhole hitter.
2:58:35 >> Oh, THAT BALL GETS AWAY. PLAYED THE PLAY
2:58:38 BALL. MY what save. And here comes Mark
2:58:42 Smith INTO THIRD.
2:58:45 >> WE'VE got
2:58:46 >> We've got two teams that need to be
2:58:48 separated. Mike Vasis runs in. Taj
2:58:51 Porter in the middle of the fray. Baba
2:58:53 gets quarterback. He gets
2:58:56 his team back.
2:59:00 >> Whoa.
2:59:00 >> Mark Smith pulls the tailgator back.
2:59:02 Brent, you and I have said it all
2:59:04 weekend. No two teams respect each other
2:59:06 more than the party animals and the
2:59:08 tailgator.
2:59:08 >> Something was said there. Something was
2:59:10 said there. I would love to see a replay
2:59:12 of that.
2:59:13 >> And the fan challenge could change the
2:59:15 course of this night.
2:59:15 >> And now we have to see a replay of it.
2:59:17 Something happened there because Jason
2:59:19 Swan and Taj Porter are the best of
2:59:21 friends. I mean, those guys are tight.
2:59:24 >> Swan is safe. Swan's safe.
2:59:28 >> All right. What do we have here? I know
2:59:30 we're doing it for the replay, but
2:59:31 something happened here after the tag.
2:59:34 >> All right.
2:59:34 >> Swan safe clearly. Yeah. By the way, a
2:59:37 party was headlined show and a fan
2:59:39 challenge for Texas Tailgator fans. Love
2:59:41 that's rare in this sport.
2:59:43 >> I love that. That's great. He's safe. Is
2:59:45 there a way possibly we can see what
2:59:47 happened through the
2:59:48 >> Let's see now the replay. Now we see we
2:59:51 see that through the play quickly here.
2:59:57 >> Swan is still yelling at the tail
3:00:00 looking over there.
3:00:01 >> All right, here we go. Here we go,
3:00:02 Drake.
3:00:03 >> Let's see this play out. He bowls over
3:00:05 Reese and then stands over him.
3:00:07 >> You can't do that.
3:00:07 >> Yeah, that's disrespectful. And I love
3:00:09 Jason Swan as much as I love.
3:00:10 >> Jake Skull walks up to Swan and says,
3:00:12 "Get back."
3:00:13 >> Taj Taj being a great teammate stands up
3:00:16 for him.
3:00:16 >> And Skull's apologizing to Taj Porter%
3:00:19 >> Skull's a great teammate there.
3:00:21 >> Taj is a great teammate there.
3:00:22 >> 100%.
3:00:23 >> I think Jason Swan,
3:00:24 >> but in Swan's defense, in Swan's
3:00:27 defense, that Vanc foul ball, he's seen
3:00:29 it. He's got that emotion. He's coming
3:00:32 home from third. Emotions very high for
3:00:34 Swany.
3:00:35 >> Two coaches are now meeting at at at
3:00:36 home play.
3:00:38 >> There's a there is a possibility we see
3:00:40 an ejection here.
3:00:41 >> I think we should see a warning. I do
3:00:43 not think I want to be very clear. I do
3:00:45 not think Jason Swan should be ejected
3:00:47 from this banana ball game. I think both
3:00:49 of the skippers should talk to their two
3:00:51 teams. He should not be ejected from
3:00:53 this game. Those things were settled.
3:00:55 There was no physical contact. There
3:00:57 were words exchanged and everybody was
3:00:59 separated. I I I do think Jason
3:01:02 >> Zangelo is telling us there was a
3:01:04 warning initiated to both dugouts.
3:01:06 >> I think Jason Swan will tell you two
3:01:08 hours from now, hand up. I didn't mean I
3:01:11 didn't mean that%.
3:01:13 You see the replay here
3:01:15 >> and that that that's out of character
3:01:17 for and you saw Skull push him on the
3:01:19 shoulder and say you can't do that.
3:01:21 >> And you see you can see Tai saying don't
3:01:23 do that. Don't do that. I think
3:01:24 everybody here defending their teammates
3:01:27 >> and Jake Skull doing the right thing at
3:01:29 Swan. Now the runner at third is the
3:01:32 game tying point.
3:01:37 >> Reese Hampton's the dish.
3:01:40 His at bat is ongoing. It is. He's a few
3:01:43 pitches into this one. Hampton foul.
3:01:46 He's got two strikes on him and at least
3:01:49 one ball from the pass ball.
3:01:52 The count
3:01:54 is one, two.
3:02:01 No one out in the ninth.
3:02:07 Reese Miller.
3:02:09 Hampton into left field. IT'S DOWN FOR A
3:02:12 BASE HIT. THIS BALL GAME IS TIED. AND IT
3:02:15 GETS AWAY FROM STANLEY. Hampton stands
3:02:17 up. Double
3:02:21 [cheering]
3:02:25 Nashville.
3:02:27 Are you aware of what you are
3:02:28 witnessing?
3:02:35 [cheering]
3:02:41 >> Consecutive ball, four sprints, and then
3:02:43 a double for the party animals in the
3:02:45 night. We're tied up four to four. THIS
3:02:47 IS WHY YOU GO TO THE NINTH INNING. THIS
3:02:49 IS WHY YOU GO TO THE ninth inning.
3:02:52 Rookie of the year candidate TJ Reeves
3:02:55 against one of the best young arms in
3:02:56 this sport. Righty on righty. Man in
3:02:59 scoring position. NO ONE OUT. HAMPTON
3:03:01 will run for Hamilton.
3:03:04 >> Revo by the way. 0 for his last five.
3:03:06 He's due, man. He is due. Still no outs
3:03:09 in this bottom of the ninth either.
3:03:15 Swing and a miss.
3:03:21 Miller could use a strike out.
3:03:26 [cheering] Taj Porter hangs on.
3:03:40 >> Swing and a miss.
3:03:43 REESE MILLER NEEDED THAT ONE.
3:03:47 [screaming]
3:03:47 >> PJ from Mr. Miller and out number one.
3:03:51 And for right now, the game-winning run
3:03:53 is still at second against a man who is
3:03:56 three for his last four. Chase AOP.
3:04:01 He was two for two with a couple ribbies
3:04:02 last night.
3:04:03 >> Two walk-offs last night as well.
3:04:05 >> Yep.
3:04:07 >> Two for three today.
3:04:09 Bill struck out his last time up.
3:04:12 Swing and a miss. Miller's found it.
3:04:24 Cup stays alive.
3:04:39 Swinging a miss. Miller got him.
3:04:43 Come on, Ree. A BIG TIME SLIDER. BACKTO
3:04:47 BACK K
3:04:50 from the bride of Houston.
3:04:52 Now it comes down to Tanner Thomas.
3:04:58 Seven home runs leads the team.
3:05:04 He's 0 FOR NINE. HOW DO we Wow, what a
3:05:08 great take from Thomas.
3:05:11 He's got to settle in now. Oh,
3:05:28 >> Thomas foul.
3:05:31 >> It seemed like that three-run bomb from
3:05:33 Taylor Justice in the top of the ninth
3:05:34 was about two years ago.
3:05:36 >> Yep. This game is now 2 hours and 30
3:05:38 minutes old. A lifetime in banana ball.
3:05:41 Wow.
3:05:44 >> One, two
3:05:46 to Tanner Thomas.
3:05:51 >> Thomas foul again.
3:06:04 >> It's still Reese Hampton at second base.
3:06:06 He's got wheels.
3:06:09 Thomas takes his time after the foul
3:06:11 ball. 10,000 people have been given a
3:06:13 treat.
3:06:16 THOMAS LEFT FIELD. NO MAN'S LAND. WHO'S
3:06:19 GOT IT? NO ONE. This ball game's over.
3:06:22 [cheering]
3:06:23 The body has swept number one team
3:06:28 lost to Nashville. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
3:06:33 [cheering]
3:06:34 Oh my.
3:06:43 IT IS A SWEEP FOR THE BLACK AND PINK
3:06:50 IN HEARTBREAKING FASHION FOR THOSE BOYS
3:06:54 FROM TEXAS.
3:06:56 A Texas leager ends it AND THE ANIMALS
3:07:00 WALK IT OFF 54.
3:07:03 THIS CITY BELONGS TO THE BLACK AND PINK
3:07:06 AGAIN. LET THEM DANCE.
3:07:15 MAN, what a ball game. 5 to four. The
3:07:17 Party Animals win it here in Nashville.
3:07:19 They sweep the Music City. And we thank
3:07:23 you all for watching here on the CW.
3:07:26 This has been Banana Ball.
3:07:48 >> [music]
3:07:57 >> Hey YouTube.
3:07:59 [cheering]
3:08:00 Paul's got his headset off. I can
3:08:02 confidently say that is the craziest
3:08:05 game.
3:08:05 >> I was letting the boys dance. Okay. I
3:08:07 was letting the boys dance.
3:08:07 >> We had to get off national TV first.
3:08:09 That is the craziest banana ball game
3:08:11 I've ever watched. I know Bo Scall is in
3:08:13 the chat. I want him to confirm that
3:08:15 might have been the craziest banana ball
3:08:16 game ever.
3:08:17 >> It was a minute off of being the longest
3:08:18 banana ball game in history.
3:08:20 >> We had a three-run go-ahead shot in the
3:08:22 night that scored the first runs for one
3:08:24 team. The home team matches with three
3:08:26 in the home half. mixed in the middle of
3:08:28 that was almost a brawl in the eighth in
3:08:30 the in the eighth inning there. We
3:08:32 barely even make it to the ninth at the
3:08:35 equalizer points awarded yet again. This
3:08:37 has been absolutely bonkers and Drake
3:08:40 toll down on the field. Matty Warren's
3:08:42 got your skipper Mike Vavais.
3:08:45 >> Coach Vasis, this is hands down the
3:08:47 craziest banana ball game that I know
3:08:49 I've ever seen. So, I want you to start
3:08:51 getting to the ninth inning and the
3:08:52 entirety of the ninth inning. From your
3:08:54 perspective, what did we just watch?
3:08:57 >> I mean, it's been all weekend to be
3:08:59 completely honest. It's It's been
3:09:00 absolutely insane. I mean, we went a
3:09:02 matchup route here in the ninth on our
3:09:04 end. Didn't pay off and then obviously
3:09:06 the boys came back out, fought
3:09:08 offensively. Had a little scuffle here
3:09:10 at home plate. Not really sure what
3:09:11 transpired. I got here, went uh tried to
3:09:14 break it up, but uh you know, it's a
3:09:15 it's just showing the intensity and how
3:09:17 how hard these guys play. And uh you
3:09:19 know, it's entertainment. We're having
3:09:20 fun, but they love to play and they love
3:09:22 to win. So, uh, just shows how intense
3:09:24 these games are.
3:09:25 >> We've talked all weekend about the
3:09:26 parallels between the Party Animals and
3:09:28 the Tailgators. Arguably at this point,
3:09:30 one of the best matchups, two of the
3:09:31 best teams in this league.
3:09:35 >> What What does this look like the next
3:09:37 time that you guys face each other after
3:09:38 this?
3:09:39 >> And, you know, uh, you know, probably
3:09:40 right after this, everyone's going to be
3:09:41 shaking hands and hugging in the locker
3:09:43 room. You know, that's that's what's
3:09:44 great about this organization. That's
3:09:45 what great about all these players. But,
3:09:47 uh, it's always going to be intense. I
3:09:48 think every team we play is going to be
3:09:50 intense. Obviously being the reigning
3:09:51 champions, we have a, you know, we have
3:09:53 a target on our back and but we like
3:09:55 that target. So, uh, it's always going
3:09:56 to be intense. It's going to be another
3:09:58 great series when we play them again
3:09:59 and, uh, can't wait for it in Midland.
3:10:01 >> Now, last question for you. We, you
3:10:03 talked a little bit about strategy and I
3:10:04 walked with you down to the bullpen.
3:10:05 Obviously, we had the pitching strategy
3:10:07 going into the ninth. Didn't quite shake
3:10:08 out the way you might have wanted it to,
3:10:10 but what can you say about the way this
3:10:12 team continues to show up in those
3:10:14 moments where it feels like the wind has
3:10:16 been sucked out of the place and yet
3:10:17 they're able to pull off that ending?
3:10:19 you know, we're a family and families
3:10:21 fight together. Um, you know, I would do
3:10:22 anything for these boys and I know they
3:10:24 would do the same for me. And when
3:10:25 you're you're competing and you're
3:10:26 you're out here, it's uh you know,
3:10:28 you're fighting for your family and uh
3:10:29 that's what they're doing every night.
3:10:30 And um you know, I respect the crap out
3:10:32 of it,
3:10:32 >> coach. Thank you so much. I promise
3:10:34 whatever energy you are feeling,
3:10:35 multiply it by like a hundred down here
3:10:37 on the field.
3:10:38 >> Thank you.
3:10:39 >> Thank you, Maddie. Thank you to VA. And
3:10:41 I I think that is the perfect response.
3:10:44 If you missed it, there was a short
3:10:46 scuffle. a short scuffle between these
3:10:48 two teams on a close play at the plate.
3:10:51 And and Brett, I think VA said it so
3:10:53 eloquently. He he did not necessarily
3:10:56 stand up for his guys or point fingers
3:10:58 at the other. He said, "It's a situation
3:10:59 I'm going to learn more about and we'll
3:11:01 address, but we have a ton of respect
3:11:02 for the Texas Tailgator."
3:11:05 >> What we just saw
3:11:06 >> is the reason you get the game in the
3:11:08 ninth inning.
3:11:09 >> If ever there was there was a chance,
3:11:11 Brett, that we saw a 4-2 Tailgator win.
3:11:13 And we asked ourselves all night long,
3:11:15 you see Vava and Mick giving a big hug
3:11:17 post game, there was a chance, Brett, we
3:11:20 saw a 4-2 win for the Tailgator where
3:11:21 the party said, "Hey, we could have just
3:11:23 let the time expire. We gave you guys
3:11:25 that."
3:11:26 >> But tonight, they wanted to settle it in
3:11:28 the ninth inning. And they did, but we
3:11:30 don't get there. We don't get to a five
3:11:33 to four Animals win if not for a man who
3:11:35 goes seven scoreless. Brett Helton,
3:11:37 who's with Mattie Warren.
3:11:39 >> Hey guys, like you said, seven scoreless
3:11:41 innings. I know you wanted to go nine. I
3:11:43 think I heard Vav say you looked at him.
3:11:45 You're like, "Let me go 150 pitches." I
3:11:46 got it. But you got to come out of the
3:11:49 game and watch the ending of this. But I
3:11:50 want to start with those first seven
3:11:52 innings. How do you continue to come out
3:11:54 here and perform at that level of
3:11:56 quality and volume after throwing a
3:11:59 complete game very very recently
3:12:01 already?
3:12:01 >> It's the whole reason we train. It's the
3:12:03 whole reason we lift and long toss and
3:12:04 do everything we do and throw live BPs.
3:12:06 Like it's consistency and like we live
3:12:08 for this. So like I'm going to be
3:12:09 training every day just so I can do
3:12:10 stuff like that. And it was great. Every
3:12:12 time I tow the rubber, I'm trying to go
3:12:13 nine. Today, I threw too many pitches
3:12:14 and didn't do it. But guess what? The
3:12:16 boys came back and rallied. As soon as I
3:12:18 come out, they're throwing heaters.
3:12:19 Everyone's pitching good and we end up
3:12:20 winning. Let's go.
3:12:21 >> Now, the pitching staff for the Party
3:12:23 Animals was undeniable this weekend,
3:12:24 holding one of the best offenses, kind
3:12:26 of a little bit on their heels. But what
3:12:28 made the difference in this game was the
3:12:30 bats and the grit and the hustle of the
3:12:32 Party Animals. Is that something that
3:12:34 you see from your teammates often?
3:12:35 >> Yeah, it's clutch. And every time
3:12:37 there's a big clutch situation, they
3:12:38 come through again. That's it. That's
3:12:40 why we play with our heartbeats. That's
3:12:41 why we're in front of crowds all the
3:12:42 time so it doesn't get to us. So when
3:12:44 the big moment comes, we can deliver.
3:12:46 And we did it. We came back from being
3:12:48 down to in the ninth inning. Came back,
3:12:50 score, score, score. Done. That's
3:12:52 clutch.
3:12:52 >> It's just what the party animals do.
3:12:54 Brett Helton, go ice that arm for us.
3:12:56 >> Never. It's all good. I can pitch
3:12:57 tomorrow. Thanks again, Maddie. Thank
3:12:59 you, Brett. Um, and down on the field
3:13:01 still here, here's Taj Porter having a
3:13:03 conversation with Anthony Cormato and
3:13:05 talking over that last play and how he
3:13:08 was. And you know what, Brett? Taj
3:13:10 wasn't in that play, but Taj did the
3:13:12 right thing as a teammate when he came
3:13:14 back over and stood up for his pitcher
3:13:16 Reese Miller, who had just Yeah, he he
3:13:18 had narrowly as as Brett Loft has picked
3:13:20 up a stick. Mike had narrowly
3:13:24 [clears throat] missed a tag on Jason
3:13:26 Swan there at the end of the game. Swan
3:13:28 goes to stand up to celebrate and and I
3:13:30 think ultimately he got stuck up. Swan
3:13:33 got stuck on Miller who was still on the
3:13:34 ground. It just it became a clunky play
3:13:36 and and was something that I think both
3:13:38 teams wanted to avoid there at the end
3:13:40 and have squashed already. We've got the
3:13:42 director of entertainment though, Zack
3:13:43 Franlo, who just saw one of the most
3:13:45 entertaining banana ball games in
3:13:46 history. And Fran is fieldside right
3:13:48 now. Fran, uh before we get to the
3:13:51 special guests this weekend, that that
3:13:52 was what we were going to talk to you
3:13:53 about.
3:13:54 >> Um does how does this showcase the
3:13:57 importance of getting a game to the
3:13:58 ninth inning?
3:13:59 >> Yeah, I mean we talked about it with
3:14:02 pretty much every special guest just to
3:14:03 tie both of them together. Uh the the
3:14:05 first question for most of these guys
3:14:06 is, you know, is this real or is this
3:14:08 the Harlem Globe Trotters? And I'm like,
3:14:09 man, like I I don't know how to explain
3:14:10 it other than like the entertainment
3:14:12 that you're going to see, the the when
3:14:14 you come out, when the walk up is going
3:14:15 to happen, that's all scripted, but the
3:14:17 gameplay itself, these boys want to win.
3:14:20 And you look up after that moment in the
3:14:21 ninth, and obviously we never want to
3:14:22 see uh a scuffle or any sort of violence
3:14:25 on the field, but that's evidence of
3:14:28 what this game is. You know, we have I
3:14:31 come from a hockey background, so that's
3:14:32 pretty normal, right? Uh, but you look
3:14:34 up into the suite and you see the boys
3:14:36 just getting fired up for what's going
3:14:37 on. And it showcases how much these guys
3:14:41 want to win. And like you've been
3:14:43 saying, it's that's what the reason you
3:14:45 get to the ninth is so that you can have
3:14:47 a moment like that. And and truly what a
3:14:50 banana ball game from top to bottom to
3:14:52 being able to get in nine to a lead
3:14:54 change in the ninth where every run
3:14:55 counts for a point and then to see what
3:14:57 happened in the bottom of the ninth
3:14:58 there. I mean, what an unbelievable
3:15:00 banana ball game. And like you said,
3:15:02 that is why you get to the ninth inning.
3:15:03 >> Bronze, there are a lot of folks in
3:15:04 polos down there who don't always get
3:15:06 the credit that they deserve. I know the
3:15:07 players did everything in their power to
3:15:08 get us to that final inning. Uh, who
3:15:11 deserves the credit for both the show we
3:15:13 got tonight and us finishing with that
3:15:15 final inning?
3:15:16 >> Yeah, absolutely. I mean, Joe Zolo, the
3:15:18 the show caller for the Party Animals is
3:15:20 topnotch. I mean, he's been incredible
3:15:22 this entire year. and to be able to
3:15:23 bring this brand in under his wing and
3:15:26 to add a little bit more structure and
3:15:28 ability to to really lead these guys to
3:15:30 get to that ninth inning. Uh that comes
3:15:32 all the way back in the fifth inning.
3:15:34 You know, we're watching this game from
3:15:35 the second that the first pitch is
3:15:37 happening until the end to make sure
3:15:39 that we get nine innings in, whether
3:15:40 that be changing promos around or
3:15:42 changing walkups or holding on a
3:15:44 celebration here or whatever it may be
3:15:46 to make sure that we get to the ninth
3:15:48 inning. And then to get into those
3:15:50 hitters ears and say, "Hey, in right now
3:15:52 we are low on time. I need you to be in
3:15:53 the box in zero seconds." And huge shout
3:15:56 out to the guys on the tailgator side
3:15:57 because they were obviously doing it.
3:15:58 Zack Watson specifically, I saw him get
3:16:00 up there, get a zero second walk up in
3:16:02 the ninth. And then on this side for
3:16:03 Ballard and Skull to go up there and
3:16:05 swing the bat in the ninth inning when
3:16:07 they didn't have to. I mean, that's true
3:16:08 buy into Banana Ball. And so a lot of
3:16:10 people deserve credit, but man, the
3:16:12 players are the ones that are out there
3:16:13 that are going to be the ones that can
3:16:14 get it over the finish line. We can only
3:16:16 give them the tools to help get them
3:16:17 there. Ranch, last question from us up
3:16:19 here in the booth. You have seen this
3:16:21 sport grow from being a barntorming one
3:16:24 team Savannah Bananas playing those
3:16:27 party animals who didn't really even
3:16:29 have a brand at that point in time. This
3:16:31 weekend and tonight in particular, the
3:16:33 Party Animals sold out the Music City
3:16:35 three straight nights. They had three
3:16:37 straight games where they had massive
3:16:39 guests. They now play in a league in the
3:16:41 Banana Ball Championship League. We
3:16:43 almost had a brawl in the ninth inning
3:16:45 tonight trying to overcome a three-run
3:16:47 homer by their opponents in the top
3:16:49 half.
3:16:50 >> What does that tell you? Everything that
3:16:52 the fans need to know at home, not only
3:16:54 about the Party Animals brand, but where
3:16:56 where our sport has been and where it's
3:16:57 going.
3:16:58 >> Yeah, I mean, you look at the the guys
3:17:00 that are in Black and Pink. You look at
3:17:02 the Jake Skulls, the Reese Hamptons,
3:17:03 Tanner Thomas', the guys that have built
3:17:05 this from inception to where it is now,
3:17:08 and those guys fighting for this brand.
3:17:10 Uh, you know, there's not a lot of
3:17:11 people that are here that have seen it
3:17:13 grow from those early days, those Mobile
3:17:16 days, those early days of Banana Ball,
3:17:18 and those two specifically have. And to
3:17:20 still have them over there on the Black
3:17:22 and Pink, uh, it's truly special what
3:17:25 they've been able to build with the
3:17:26 brand to where now we have guys like
3:17:29 Johnny Knoxville and Steo who are
3:17:30 probably on the Mount Rushmore of party
3:17:32 years of all time wanting to be here.
3:17:35 You know, you get a you get a message
3:17:36 from Jesse Cole saying, "Man, like this
3:17:38 is similar to when we had John Cena."
3:17:40 And we know what that looked like for
3:17:41 the Savannah Bananas. And now to have
3:17:42 those two guys come out and at the end
3:17:44 of the night leaving like, "Man, I've
3:17:46 got to come back. This is unbelievable."
3:17:48 And then you have a top five country
3:17:49 music star in Hardy that is like, "This
3:17:51 is one of the coolest things I've ever
3:17:53 seen." And literally staying until the
3:17:55 end of the night because he's like, "I
3:17:57 don't want to leave. I want to see
3:17:58 this." It it shows how far Banana Ball
3:18:00 has come, but more importantly how far
3:18:02 the party animals and the tailgator
3:18:03 obviously tailgators being a little bit
3:18:04 more new. Uh they are growing
3:18:07 unbelievably fast with people and
3:18:10 especially here in Nashville where
3:18:11 country music is so important. It fits
3:18:14 their brand so incredibly well. And just
3:18:17 a year ago to be over at Nissan Stadium
3:18:19 and seeing that that stadium slowly turn
3:18:21 pink throughout that night. We know
3:18:23 there's a lot of fans that were here
3:18:25 that turned to Party Animals fans last
3:18:26 year at that Nissan Stadium game and got
3:18:28 an intimate experience that was unlike
3:18:30 any other and one of the best banana
3:18:32 ball games that we have ever seen. And
3:18:34 so it's a credit to those guys and it's
3:18:35 a credit to to the brand being built and
3:18:37 it's a credit to you guys as well
3:18:39 sharing banana ball and and having fun
3:18:41 on the broadcast. Man, I had the
3:18:42 opportunity to be listening to you guys
3:18:44 through that ninth inning and man alive
3:18:45 you guys sent chills down my spine a
3:18:47 couple times. The TJ home run and then
3:18:49 that Reese Hampton hit. I mean, it was
3:18:51 it was a very very well done call and
3:18:53 you guys did a great job in bringing
3:18:54 Banana Ball to more fans.
3:18:55 >> Thank you to Zack Francho. Yeah, and you
3:18:58 hit the nail on the head with Chris
3:18:59 Young, to Johnny Knoxville and Hardy,
3:19:01 Steo, those guys being here and credit
3:19:03 to you for helping make that happen for
3:19:05 these two brands this weekend. Fran,
3:19:07 you're fantastic what you do. You look
3:19:09 great and everybody's saying
3:19:11 >> talk about Mount Rushmore.
3:19:12 >> We love you guys.
3:19:12 >> Mount Rushmore Fans First Entertainment
3:19:14 right there on your screen, ladies and
3:19:15 gentlemen.
3:19:15 >> There it goes. Thanks again, Fran.
3:19:16 >> Love you guys. Thank you.
3:19:19 Let's Let's I mean,
3:19:21 >> let's talk about it. Huh?
3:19:22 >> Hold on. I got Benadryil somewhere.
3:19:23 >> Actually, before we talk about it, show
3:19:25 the graphic about
3:19:27 >> Let's talk about Let's talk about next
3:19:28 week. Yeah, we can talk about Let's talk
3:19:29 about next week.
3:19:30 >> We got a video or a graphic or we got
3:19:31 something to show you.
3:19:33 >> You guys play in a football stadium
3:19:34 apparently.
3:19:35 >> Yeah. Oddson Stadium in Eugene, Oregon,
3:19:38 the home of the Oregon Ducks. The party
3:19:40 animals will face the Savannah Bananas.
3:19:41 The Animals are [music] the home team on
3:19:43 ESPN for game one, on ABC on Sunday for
3:19:47 game two. That's a little funky, by the
3:19:49 way. 8:00 Eastern time. 8:00 East
3:19:51 animals are the home team. Yeah. Uh 8:00
3:19:53 Eastern time for that broadcast, by the
3:19:55 way, for Saturday. So that's a local
3:19:58 time, [music] 5:00 first pitch. And then
3:20:00 on Sunday, 1:00 Eastern time, first
3:20:02 pitch on ABC. Uh [music] that Sunday
3:20:05 game is 400 p. p.m. Eastern. Uh the
3:20:08 Texas Tailgator, Brett Loft,
3:20:10 >> big big one. Big one for the boys in
3:20:11 blue and orange next weekend. [music]
3:20:13 First headliner game that'll be on
3:20:14 national TV game one in San Antonio on
3:20:17 Saturday night 8:00 PM Eastern, 700 p.m.
3:20:19 [music] C Central time on True TV. There
3:20:22 you see it top of your screen. [music]
3:20:24 Firefighters clowns being Fargo, North
3:20:26 Dakota. First time Banana Balls ever
3:20:27 went to the Dakotas playing on the
3:20:29 Clowns YouTube channel. Welcome back in
3:20:31 the booth toll. Man, that was uh the
3:20:34 craziest banana [music] ball game I have
3:20:37 ever watched and maybe has ever been
3:20:39 played. Well, damn. What do we do with
3:20:42 that, man? [laughter]
3:20:43 >> Where do we go from here?
3:20:44 >> So,
3:20:46 and and we'll be as brief as we can. I
3:20:47 want to do this in 90 seconds.
3:20:49 >> Yep.
3:20:49 >> Okay. Eighth inning, Animals are up two
3:20:51 zero. Clock's running out.
3:20:53 >> Texas Tailgator miraculously with under
3:20:56 six minutes to go and needing a few a
3:20:58 few things to break their way. Get the
3:21:00 equalizer point by garnering three trick
3:21:02 plays and find their way quickly out of
3:21:04 that eighth. It's 2-1. We go to the
3:21:06 ninth.
3:21:06 >> 20 seconds left, by the way. Making it
3:21:07 the ninth.
3:21:08 >> Make it the ninth. 26. Reese Miller
3:21:09 pitching the party animals. They were
3:21:11 full swing away. They wanted to get to
3:21:12 the ninth. Whether it meant they they
3:21:14 won or lost. They just wanted to fight
3:21:15 for the ninth. We get to the ninth
3:21:16 inning. In the top of the ninth, it is
3:21:19 still a two to one ball game. When
3:21:21 Taylor Justice works a 14 pitch at bat,
3:21:23 the analysts would argue on pitch 12
3:21:25 that he fouled out to a fan. Fan runs
3:21:27 down to the field says, "I got it. I
3:21:29 caught it. I caught it." No umpire saw
3:21:30 it. We had no camera angle of it.
3:21:32 Therefore, the correct call was to leave
3:21:35 it as no catch. Just as two pitches
3:21:38 later, hits a 393 foot home run to left
3:21:41 field. Pull side. It's now 42.
3:21:44 >> The only three runs the Tailgator scored
3:21:46 in any of the game tonight. Came off one
3:21:48 swing of the bat.
3:21:49 >> And because it's in the ninth, they all
3:21:50 become points. The Tailgators are up
3:21:51 four to2 now. The Animals come up. It's
3:21:53 ball for sprint. Ball for sprint. Base
3:21:56 hit. That makes the ball game three.
3:21:59 Make it four to four, I should say. But
3:22:01 we're now tied up at that point
3:22:03 >> which from
3:22:05 >> from there two strikeouts from Reese
3:22:08 Miller. He gets Reese Anthony into a two
3:22:10 strike count. Hamp fly ball into left
3:22:13 field. No man's land. Hussein's chasing.
3:22:15 Watson's chasing. Bar's chasing. No one
3:22:18 gets to it. Uh and it I should say
3:22:20 Tanner Thomas into left field. Hampton
3:22:23 comes in to score and that is it. A
3:22:25 walk-off 54 the final. It was the hustle
3:22:27 play from Han to get home that drove the
3:22:30 Animals to a sweep of the Texas
3:22:31 Tailgator. And Brett, again, that's
3:22:34 under 90 seconds for the next 30
3:22:35 seconds. And we're going to wrap up and
3:22:36 say goodbye. I I think this week, we
3:22:38 talked about this a couple a bit
3:22:39 yesterday. Talk about power rankings,
3:22:40 the hottest teams in Anna Ball. The
3:22:42 Tailgator just lost three games.
3:22:43 >> All each of them only by a point.
3:22:45 >> And I would put the Texas Tailgator
3:22:46 still right there. If not at the top,
3:22:48 right there with the Animals A1.
3:22:50 >> The Party Animals Tailgators are the two
3:22:52 best teams in this sport. And there's no
3:22:53 doubt about it in my mind. A guy caught
3:22:55 stealing on on night one, a guy caught
3:22:58 stealing on night two, and then tonight
3:23:00 a bloop into left that wins it. You are
3:23:02 just the question was who's going to
3:23:04 blink that close.
3:23:05 >> And and with with the margin of error
3:23:07 being an eyelash, the tailgator, they
3:23:10 they blink to the wrong time in in these
3:23:12 contests. Otherwise, it would have been
3:23:14 a sweep in the other direction. A
3:23:16 gentleman's weekend.
3:23:17 >> What do you say? Uh we let these people
3:23:19 go to sleep, man.
3:23:20 >> What do we say? I get a beer. I don't
3:23:22 >> You got it. You deserve it, man. I'm
3:23:23 going to go see Brandon and Heather Loft
3:23:25 down [laughter] there. They're hanging
3:23:26 out. Hey, for Chad Reese producing our
3:23:28 executive producer, um Josh Richardson,
3:23:30 Chris Haynes in the truck, Matty
3:23:32 Warren's down on the field. That's Brett
3:23:34 Loftess. It's been a pleasure calling
3:23:35 these games this weekend, my friend. It
3:23:37 has been a pleasure calling these games.
3:23:38 >> Such a pleasure, man.
3:23:39 >> I'm Drake Tol and for the last time this
3:23:41 weekend and take a nap or two, I'm say
3:23:45 good night after a 54 party animals win
3:23:49 and party on.
3:23:50 >> What a ball game.
3:23:54 >> [music]
3:24:17 >> Heat. Heat. [music]
