📝 Full transcript (4009 segments)

0:00 I'm here. Say anything like that.

0:04 We know that one for Orlando. We're

0:05 running the exact same thing there. So,

0:06 we should be able to get set up ready to

0:07 go on that.

0:07 >> What happened in Disney and why we're

0:09 running it back now?

0:10 >> You mean to say hey, I'm just here so

0:12 I'll get fine. I just know my part.

0:13 That's all I'm going to say. I did my

0:14 part. I was ready. I was ready to go. It

0:16 didn't happen but now we're doing it in

0:17 Jersey.

0:19 >> I'll talk to you Eel.

0:20 We have JD with the hoop this time and

0:23 then

0:24 CJ's going to have

0:26 the palm tree.

0:31 >> You're right there.

0:34 Boom and then yes.

0:47 >> It was too early. The first "You're

0:48 Welcome" was only them. We were in the

0:50 frame looked bad. I was like, "Yeah, I

0:51 DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING."

0:52 >> WE'RE SPLIT INTO TWO SIDES AND YOU START

0:55 back here and then you run it. So, get

0:58 to those two sides and

0:59 And then put CJ here and put me on home.

1:01 The guys are going to run around you

1:04 from both sides to pop in on that.

1:05 You're welcome and then they'll run off

1:07 and then pop in. You're welcome.

1:09 >> I got you. So, I'm just saying in front

1:10 of him like the whole

1:11 >> Yeah, show to me in front of him and

1:12 then he's going to hand him his coconut

1:14 and then he'll switch it with the back.

1:16 >> I'm coming like this way because I'm

1:17 already now in the box.

1:18 >> That's perfect.

1:20 >> You're welcome.

1:24 >> [music]

1:27 >> You're welcome.

1:30 >> All right, let's do it.

1:30 >> Well, [music] come to think of it, kid,

1:33 honestly, I could go on and on. I could

1:34 explain every natural phenomenon. The

1:36 tides, the grass, the ground. That was

1:38 me just messing around. I killed an eel,

1:40 I buried its guts, sprouted a tree, now

1:42 you got coconuts. What's the lesson?

1:44 What is the takeaway? Don't mess with

1:45 Maui when he's on a breakaway. And the

1:47 tapestry here in my skin is a map of the

1:49 victories I win. Look where I've been. I

1:51 make everything happen. Look at that,

1:52 little me mini Maui.

1:58 Well, anyway, let me [music] say you're

2:00 welcome for the wonderful world you

2:04 know.

2:05 Hey, it's okay. It's okay. [music]

2:07 You're welcome.

2:09 Well, come to think of it, I got to go.

2:12 Hey, it's okay to

2:14 say

2:14 you're welcome.

2:16 Cuz I'm going to need that boat.

2:19 >> Hey, it's okay. It's okay. Well, you're

2:22 welcome. Well, you're welcome.

2:24 >> Before we get to the top moment from

2:25 this weekend, let's talk about what

2:27 Brett Carson did on the mound. A

2:28 strikeout, two scoreless innings. He

2:30 even got former MLB All-Star Todd

2:32 Frazier out.

2:33 >> And he wasn't even the best Brett

2:34 pitching this weekend. Complete game

2:36 shutout from Brett Helton, number 10

2:37 [music] for the Party Animals. This

2:38 That's not what I was going to say.

2:40 >> What?

2:41 >> This is a show about the Coconuts

2:42 [music] top moments behind the beach.

2:44 You can leave that to the Party Animals

2:45 YouTube. Without further ado, let's roll

2:47 the top moment. Brett Carson, have

2:48 yourself a day. Carson's in a 1-1 count.

2:51 There's one away.

2:53 >> DUAL THREAT BRETT!

2:55 RIPPED IN THE RIGHT. IT'S BACK!

2:59 >> [cheering]

2:59 >> WALK-OFF HOME RUN!

3:01 BRETT CARSON, THE COCONUTS

3:04 WIN IT!

3:06 >> [cheering]

3:08 >> ON A DAY BRETT CARSON TOOK THE MOUND

3:12 AND PITCHED TWO QUALITY EARNING INNINGS,

3:16 >> [cheering]

3:16 >> HE HITS THE WALK-OFF HOME RUN.

3:19 You don't get THE NICKNAME DUAL THREAT

3:21 BRETT WITHOUT DOING THEM BOTH.

3:24 >> IT WAS AWESOME. It was the first home

3:26 run in my

3:27 baseball career. Felt awesome. Couldn't

3:28 come at a better time. How about these

3:30 boys? You know, shout out to Marcy. You

3:32 know, I was a little leaky and he was

3:33 like, "Hey, stay back a little bit."

3:34 That's what we did. Mama, I love you. I

3:36 know you're watching at home. I love

3:37 you.

3:38 >> We love you, Mama. We love you, Mama.

3:40 >> We love you, Mama.

3:40 >> And that's a wrap on this week's episode

3:42 of Behind the Beach. I'm AJ Swyteck.

3:44 Every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Eastern

3:46 Time, I'll have you covered with the

3:50 >> You stayed till the end. We've got a

3:52 special treat for you. Let's take a look

3:53 at honorable mention moment from this

3:55 past weekend. And remember, follow the

3:57 baby.

3:58 >> the boat.

5:02 >> Do you smell that? No, I'm not talking

5:04 about the good vibrations. No, I'm not

5:06 talking about the pina colada in my left

5:08 hand. And I'm not even talking about the

5:10 rainbows or the salt water. It smells

5:12 like burning rubber.

5:14 And that's because we have a rubber

5:16 match on our hands, baby, right here at

5:18 Delta Dental Stadium. The Coconut and

5:20 Firefighters have each taken a game a

5:22 piece, and it all comes down to this

5:24 series finale in Manchester, New

5:26 Hampshire to crown a victor in this

5:28 three-game stint

5:30 under the sunshine.

5:33 Hey, welcome up to the broadcast booth.

5:35 I'm AJ Switek, joined by my good friend,

5:37 my compadre, Zach Staten. Zach, last

5:40 night a great example of how this is

5:43 such a day-to-day sport. After the

5:44 Firefighters lost by three points on day

5:46 one, they never trailed last evening.

5:48 >> They were as gritty as I've ever seen

5:50 them here last night in Manchester, New

5:52 Hampshire. And now for the first time

5:54 since the existence of the Coconuts and

5:55 Firefighters happened in this lifetime,

5:58 we get a one-one rubber match in a

6:00 three-game set. The Firefighters last

6:02 night winning it by one, Coconuts

6:04 winning game one by three points.

6:06 Tonight, I think we can meet somewhere

6:08 in the middle and have some cinema on

6:09 our hands as we go into the late innings

6:11 between these two.

6:12 >> I'm not loving the smell of this burning

6:14 rubber. So, before we focus too much on

6:16 this absolute barn burner of a game we

6:17 have at hand, let's look at what

6:19 happened last night to paint the picture

6:21 a little bit of what we can expect here

6:23 this evening. The Coconuts had Zach

6:25 Smith on the mound, the Firefighters had

6:26 Zach Phillips on the mound. And in the

6:28 battle of the Zachs, the Firefighters

6:29 struck first with this RBI single

6:31 plating Dalton Cornett. It led to a

6:33 point immediately one-nothing fire and

6:35 flames.

6:37 >> But then Zach Smith, he spells it the

6:38 right way with an H, but he got a lot of

6:41 Ks last night. Five of them to be exact

6:43 in another start. He looks mighty

6:44 comfortable up there for the Loco Beach

6:46 Coconuts except when he's facing Eric

6:48 Jones Jr. in the top of the third inning

6:49 with a run already on there Grady

6:51 Morgan. Great opportunity for a great

6:53 play. Doesn't come up with it.

6:54 Firefighters would score two runs in the

6:56 top of the third. And then

6:58 hello Zach Phillips. Big K on Brett

7:02 Carson. He goes out there four and

7:04 two-thirds in the scorebooks, [music]

7:06 six innings with our eyeballs and our

7:08 hearts. And he gets the second point of

7:10 the night.

7:11 >> But, you know, stop me if you've heard

7:13 it before. Oh, sorry, you can't stop me.

7:15 I'm going to say it anyways. Just put it

7:16 on mute. The comeback Coconuts continue

7:18 to do it. Gideon Antle walks off the

7:20 fourth inning. It's what he does best,

7:22 cutting the deficit in half. So, now you

7:24 look down at the score, it's a two-one

7:25 ballgame and scissors continues to show

7:27 that it dominates paper. However, down

7:30 by one, it's quickly going to turn right

7:32 back into down by two. Eric Jones Jr.,

7:34 the star of the show,

7:37 puts the Firefighters on top of the

7:38 fifth and makes it a three-one game.

7:40 Dane Toplin, it's a game of inches. This

7:42 ball is just barely fair after a second

7:45 look. It stayed left of that white chalk

7:47 line, and now it's a 3-2 ball game.

7:49 Grady Morgan, the sole survivor, hits

7:51 his first career banana ball home run,

7:53 walking off the eighth inning. The

7:54 Coconut pull off a second comeback in

7:56 the game, but it sent us to the ninth

7:58 tied, and the Firefighters had an answer

8:00 for Andy Archer.

8:01 >> 3-3 tie, and the man at the plate wears

8:03 number three, my friend and coworker,

8:05 Dalton Cornett. Thought he got a

8:06 backside grand slam. Instead, it'll do

8:08 good enough just to be a sac fly to

8:10 bring Tyner Hughes home from third. That

8:12 would make it 4-3. Then, with a runner

8:13 on first, NOBODY AWAY. HELLO, ERIC JONES

8:16 JR. NOT JUST DOING IT AT THE PLATE, but

8:18 doing it with the glove. Double play

8:19 clears the bags. Then, just two pitches

8:21 later, Eric Osberg was really, really

8:24 gutty last night trying to play through

8:25 an injury, [music] but he grounds out to

8:27 Logan Lacy. Eric Jones Jr. with the

8:29 final out, and the Firefighters win for

8:31 the third time in their last four games.

8:33 >> Couple of spark notes on that ninth

8:35 inning. How about just six pitches for

8:37 Johnny Hummel to get the save? And Eric

8:38 Osberg out there [music] amidst injury,

8:40 was pinch-hitting, putting it all on the

8:42 line. But, Hummel was one of many who

8:44 helped drive the fire truck to a victory

8:47 an evening ago. These three were really

8:49 the faces of the show.

8:51 >> Did you say spark notes? You did. Lamar

8:53 Sparks. We didn't talk about him a ton

8:54 in the highlights, but three for four

8:56 with three singles, a run, and an RBI.

8:59 He was incredible at the dish. Eric

9:01 Jones Jr., you saw he affected the game

9:03 in so many different ways, whether it

9:04 was on the bag, or whether it was with

9:06 the stick in his hands. But, the guy who

9:08 had the story of the night is Zach

9:10 Phillips. Has not started a game since

9:11 July 21st of 2023

9:15 in Rancho Cucamonga. Last night, comes

9:17 out 4 and 2/3, four strikeouts. Yes,

9:19 4K's because he had a high quality

9:21 affair. And three points earned in a

9:24 game where every point mattered for both

9:27 teams. That's as [music] quality a start

9:28 as you're going to find from a guy who

9:30 might have just shown that he could be a

9:31 starter moving forward here for the Fire

9:33 and Flames.

9:34 >> With question marks regarding that

9:36 rotation, Zach Phillips just put up a

9:38 really good bid to carve out a

9:39 consistent role for himself. He caught

9:41 up Beach Side earlier today with Michael

9:43 Schwartz.

9:48 >> Zack Phillips, last night's starter, we

9:51 last left you on the mound before you

9:53 started for the first time since 2023.

9:57 I loved your performance and I loved

9:59 what you told me. You're not even going

10:00 to think out there. How did you feel on

10:01 the mound?

10:01 >> Well, I did just that. I didn't think

10:03 out there. You know, we have a really

10:04 good offense. We're going to score some

10:06 runs. So, if I can go out there and put

10:07 up some zeros, we're going to win a lot

10:09 of ball games and you know, hopefully I

10:11 can carry this on into next week.

10:13 >> What helped you on the mound and would

10:15 you like to start again?

10:17 >> Oh, I would love to start again. You

10:18 know, if I can go out there and do what

10:19 I did yesterday, next week and weeks

10:21 after that and help my team win,

10:24 I'll do it every week if I can.

10:25 >> The mound looks pretty good right now.

10:27 You're not out there tonight, but maybe

10:29 we'll see in the future. Last question,

10:31 how would you describe your Banana Ball

10:32 career? You've been from Bananas to

10:34 here. It's been a whirlwind, but you've

10:36 been such a leader.

10:38 >> Uh, yeah. I mean, I've done it all. I've

10:40 been here from the very beginning just

10:41 about and I've played about every single

10:44 role you can. You know, I've even played

10:45 in the field, played second base in

10:46 Cooperstown. So,

10:48 I'd say I'm like a Swiss Army knife.

10:50 >> I love that. And he can dance, too. Zack

10:53 Phillips, thank you so much. Hey, let's

10:55 have a game.

10:58 >> Bill has played a number of roles. Allow

11:00 me to play a role here of teacher.

11:03 Because if you look at this in a vacuum

11:05 last night, it's hard to imagine Loco

11:07 Beach not winning the game. More total

11:09 bases, you can see it on your screen.

11:11 I'm not going to read it off. It's a lot

11:12 of numbers. I'm not going to stumble

11:14 through them nor bore you, but here's

11:15 the reality of the situation. Last

11:17 night, the Firefighters put on full

11:19 display how important timely hitting is

11:22 in the Banana Ball Championship League

11:23 cuz even hitting a full 126 points less

11:26 than the Coconuts, getting on base 13%

11:29 less, this Firefighters team secured a

11:31 win where they never trailed because

11:33 their bats brought in runners in scoring

11:36 position.

11:36 >> Yep, runs 6

11:38 >> [music]

11:38 >> to 4 in favor of the Firefighters. And

11:40 again, think the Bananas got a lot of

11:42 people on base despite the fact

11:43 Firefighters only issued two ball four

11:45 sprints on the night. But they didn't

11:47 bring them home. That becomes a critical

11:49 part of a game like that when every run

11:51 really does matter where the

11:53 Firefighters, the most runs they scored

11:54 in an inning, I believe was three. And

11:56 the Bananas actually scored in the

11:57 bottom half of that frame. [music] You

11:59 got to bring runners on base home and

12:01 that becomes critical as you said. We

12:03 call it timely hitting. Last night the

12:05 Firefighters had it. Bananas did not and

12:06 that's why these offensive stats, yes,

12:08 they might lean the Bananas, but they

12:09 went the way of the Firefighters as a

12:11 result.

12:11 >> You know I've always got to find a way

12:13 to find some positivity and I'll tell

12:14 you what, we're still smiling, it's

12:16 still good vibes win or lose at the

12:17 beach. Let's get to know these Bananas.

12:19 They're dancing down on the field.

12:29 >> One more time for YOUR LOCAL BEACH

12:31 BANANAS!

12:33 >> [screaming]

12:35 [cheering]

12:38 >> FANS, I have just received word that

12:41 there has been a shark sighting here at

12:44 Loco Beach.

12:50 But, there is no need to panic.

12:54 Because swimming to the mound right now

12:56 [music]

12:57 isn't just any shark. It's two-month-old

13:01 Cecilia,

13:03 tonight's baby

13:05 shark!

13:23 Daddy shark do do do

13:34 >> One more time for Mommy Shark, Daddy

13:37 Shark, and 2-month-old Cecilia,

13:39 tonight's Baby Shark.

13:52 ALL

13:54 MEN CHESTER

13:57 >> [cheering]

13:57 >> IT'S ABOUT TO GET HOT right here and

14:00 right now. I need you to get loud and

14:03 make some noise FOR YOUR FIREFIGHTERS.

14:08 >> [screaming]

14:12 [music]

14:23 [music]

14:36 >> AND NOW, the starting lineup for your

14:40 Firefighters.

14:44 Leading off, the hot shot at shortstop,

14:48 number two, Kayden Pinocchio Green.

14:54 In the two hole, the extra hitter, D C

14:58 three, Dalton Cornett.

15:03 BATTING THIRD, manning the hot corner,

15:06 number 11, Logan

15:10 God, he's so hot. Look at those hips

15:13 move from Logan Lacey as the

15:15 Firefighters starting lineup is getting

15:16 introduced, A.J.

15:18 These guys hit the tater out of the ball

15:21 the last two nights. Wonder if they're

15:22 going to do it again here in game three.

15:24 >> Well, the Firefighters know a thing or

15:25 two about extinguishing some flames. And

15:27 anytime you're at a Loco Beach Coconut's

15:30 headliner, there's one unique feature

15:32 that you are sure to notice. How about

15:34 six water cannons that even if you

15:37 blink, you can't miss them. We're going

15:39 to learn more about them because I told

15:41 you I stepped into a teacher role. Well,

15:43 let's let Michael Schwartz do just that.

15:45 Earlier today, he caught up with Aqua

15:47 Mike regarding the cannons.

15:51 >> So, we want to take you behind the

15:52 scenes of Loco Beach and something that

15:54 makes Loco Beach so Loco are the water

15:57 cannons that you see being shot all

15:59 across the field. Joel Zimmerman is the

16:02 show caller for the Loco Beach Coconut's

16:05 and Aqua Mike, also known as Pyro Rob,

16:10 who shoots the fire during Firefighters

16:11 headliners, is putting out some fire

16:14 with some water this week. In a way, you

16:16 could say that. You've gotten really

16:17 creative with when you're calling the

16:19 water cannons. How powerful are these?

16:22 >> These uh can go to 80 to 100 ft. They

16:24 have 100 PSI and about 2 gallons of

16:25 water in each cannon.

16:26 >> How spectacular does this make a Banana

16:29 Ball game because I've seen you do it

16:30 now during the national anthem week

16:32 after week?

16:32 >> Yeah, yeah.

16:33 >> Uh the energy of it is they intensify.

16:34 You know how How often are you going to

16:36 see a water cannon shot at a at a

16:37 baseball stadium? You don't. So, it's

16:38 such a cool thing to have. And then

16:39 yeah, we're trying to figure out new

16:40 ways to incorporate the water. And so,

16:42 national anthem has been what we've been

16:43 adding in. It's been a good reaction.

16:45 >> New Hampshire and then then weeks later

16:47 into the summer, Gillette Stadium here

16:50 in New England. That's going to be wild.

16:52 I love standing next to you during the

16:53 game because especially on a hot day, we

16:55 get that mist, there's a little rainbow,

16:57 it's beautiful. Aqua Mike,

16:58 >> Yes, sir.

16:59 >> can I try this?

17:00 >> Yeah. I've got them armed and ready for

17:02 you.

17:02 >> Armed and ready to go.

17:03 >> It's the button up here. All fire, top

17:05 left button. That's going to be the one

17:06 for you to rip them all at once.

17:08 >> So, this is kind of wild here, but let's

17:11 see how it goes. We're launching the

17:12 cannons. 3 2 1

17:18 Oh, yeah.

17:19 Oh, yeah. That is nice. So, you could do

17:23 one at a time and you could do that all

17:25 manually, right?

17:26 >> have individual control of all eight

17:28 cannons on the field. So, when we do the

17:30 opening segment for the game, start the

17:32 wave, we're able to follow the the crowd

17:34 around as the wave moves and kind of

17:36 play with it like an instrument almost.

17:38 >> CJ Kerwin, our host here at Loco Beach,

17:40 does that wave, so we could do it. Here,

17:42 I'll try it out.

17:47 That is sick. Loco Beach, man, they're

17:49 looking to put the fire out tonight to

17:51 win the series here in Manchester, New

17:53 Hampshire. That's a little behind the

17:54 scenes of Loco Beach.

17:59 >> Wow, it looks really dry right now, but

18:05 come the top of the fourth inning,

18:07 with two outs, you better be ready.

18:09 Anytime you come to a Coconuts game to

18:12 get wet, because my goodness, the

18:15 tsunami has taken this world by tropical

18:17 storm and at the top of every fourth

18:19 inning, at every Coconuts headliner, the

18:21 sprinklers are on, the water cannons are

18:23 firing and it is dicey out on the

18:25 diamond. Everyone's wet, they're into it

18:28 and the Coconuts to this point in the

18:30 year have yet to surrender a run during

18:32 a tsunami half inning.

18:35 >> I want to say two things. Number one,

18:37 Aqua Mike,

18:38 >> TRAITOR!

18:39 >> IT'S USUALLY PYRO ROB.

18:42 Don't like seeing that man over there.

18:43 But aside from that, tsunamis are not

18:45 usually good things, but for the Loco

18:46 Beach Coconuts, they're an absolute

18:49 spectacle

18:50 as you take a look at Manchester, New

18:52 Hampshire.

18:54 It's beautiful. It's dry. But I've got

18:56 good news. It's not going to stay that

18:58 way for very long. So, if you're at home

19:00 and you want to get involved, you know,

19:02 when I was a kid, I used to just take a

19:04 pen, poke it through the top of a water

19:06 bottle, squirt it into my mouth. In this

19:08 case, I think I'd just squirt it all

19:09 over But it is time to get ready for a

19:12 Loco Beach headliner. We got the home

19:14 run hitter showing his skills off and

19:17 we've got 11 rules brought to you by

19:20 virtual Jesse Cole that make this sport

19:22 so unique.

19:26 >> Banana Ball is the fastest and most

19:28 entertaining show in sports and the 11

19:31 rules guarantee the most fans first

19:33 experience every second.

19:34 >> Unbelievable!

19:36 WELCOME TO THE BANANA BALL CHAMPIONSHIP

19:38 LEAGUE.

19:39 >> Rule number one, win the inning, win the

19:41 point. The team that scores the most

19:43 runs in an inning wins the point.

19:45 >> IT'S A WALK-OFF WINNER FOR THE DAVID

19:48 [cheering] ORTIZ FIELD.

19:49 >> OH MY GOODNESS! WITH the equalizer

19:51 point, trick plays provide the away team

19:54 an opportunity to earn a point going

19:55 into the final inning.

19:57 And in the final inning, every run

19:59 counts as a point.

20:00 Rule number two, Banana Ball has a

20:02 two-hour time limit guaranteeing that

20:05 every game is fast-paced and

20:07 action-packed.

20:09 Rule number three, no stepping out of

20:11 the batter's box. If you do, it will

20:13 result in a strike.

20:14 >> Max stepped out of the box and because

20:16 he stepped out of the box, that's it!

20:18 >> Rule number four, no bunting cuz [music]

20:21 bunting sucks. If you bunt, you'll be

20:23 thrown out of the game. Rule number

20:25 five, batters can steal first base.

20:27 >> Ball three, GIDEON TAKING OFF FOR FIRST.

20:29 THROW FROM LE'TROY,

20:31 in time!

20:32 >> Rule number six, there's no walks. Walks

20:36 are ball four sprints. The batter can

20:37 advance as far as they want until every

20:40 position player touches the ball.

20:42 >> No defenders have touched THE BANANA

20:44 BALL. IT IS A FOUR-BASE SPRINT TO OPEN

20:47 UP THE BALL GAME.

20:48 >> Rule number seven,

20:50 no mound visits.

20:52 Nope.

20:53 Rule number eight, foul balls [music]

20:55 caught by a fan count as an out.

21:03 Rule number nine, the showdowns. In

21:06 showdowns, the best of the best face

21:08 [music] off in the biggest moment. One

21:10 hitter versus one pitcher with one

21:12 fielder behind him. And the hitter has

21:14 to score.

21:18 >> [cheering]

21:20 >> Rule number 10, the banana ball

21:21 challenge rule gives the coaches and you

21:24 the fans a chance to impact a call on

21:26 the field.

21:27 >> [cheering]

21:28 >> Rule number 11, the golden batter. Once

21:31 a game, each team can give any player an

21:33 at-bat regardless of the lineup. This

21:35 offers the biggest matchups on the

21:37 biggest stage.

21:49 >> [screaming]

21:49 >> And those are the rules of banana ball.

21:55 >> Well, you heard about the 11 rules of

21:57 banana ball. One, maybe the most unique,

22:00 is the ball four sprint. And it is so

22:02 important specifically for this Coconuts

22:05 franchise in their inaugural season when

22:07 it comes to wins and losses. Get this,

22:09 when the Coconuts have four or more ball

22:11 four sprints offensively, they are 12

22:13 and three, dominating this year. But,

22:16 when they work three or less, when

22:17 they're a little less patient, a little

22:18 less disciplined at the plate, five and

22:20 14. That's a jarring difference, and it

22:22 showed [music] up already in this

22:23 series. Loco Beach won their game where

22:25 they had four or more ball four sprints,

22:27 five in game [music] one, but last night

22:28 they only had two and were ticketed with

22:30 the L.

22:31 >> And that's a big point for the Fire

22:32 Fighters too on the pitching side. They

22:34 give up the most ball four sprints on

22:36 rate and by total statistics this year.

22:38 So, the pitching last night really did

22:40 their job limiting the free bases and

22:42 making the Coconuts have to earn it. And

22:44 I know we talked about this in game one.

22:46 I bet you anything the pitchers feel

22:47 real confident coming in tonight knowing

22:49 they didn't give them away for free and

22:51 give the Coconuts offense, which is

22:52 already as dangerous as they come,

22:53 [music] even more time to try and find a

22:55 way to get runs.

22:56 >> Don't have to squint to read it there.

22:58 12 and three with four or more ball four

23:00 sprints, five and 14 with three or less.

23:02 The Coconuts will try to be patient

23:04 tonight. And speaking of tonight, let's

23:06 take a look around the league. Banana

23:07 Ball is all over the country, baby.

23:10 We're taking this world by tropical

23:11 storm, and all six teams are in action.

23:13 You know, I'm going to trust YouTube

23:15 chat that you're going to [music] stick

23:16 right here with us in Manchester, New

23:17 Hampshire. But, if you have extra

23:18 devices, or if you want to go back and

23:20 watch later, [music] we've got Bananas

23:22 versus Clowns at Great American Ballpark

23:24 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the home of the

23:26 Cincinnati Reds. [music] That's on ESPN,

23:27 also of course available on YouTube and

23:30 in Spanish on YouTube. And how about the

23:31 Tailgaters and Party Animals? The Party

23:33 Animals looking for a sweep of the

23:35 league's top team [music] tonight. It's

23:37 on the CW and the Party Animals YouTube

23:39 channel from Nashville, Tennessee.

23:41 >> Yeah, if you saw the way that [music]

23:42 the Party Animals and Texas Tailgaters

23:43 ended just one night ago, my goodness

23:46 gracious, folks. [music]

23:47 It was a heart breaker. It was a heart

23:49 stopper with Kyle Martin getting

23:51 >> [music]

23:51 >> the record-breaking 16th home run in a

23:53 regular season. Again, now he sits atop

23:55 the home run column in just one regular

23:58 season. He's played half the games that

23:59 took the set the 15 [music]

24:01 by Jake Skol just one year ago. So,

24:04 Texas Tailgaters and Party Animals,

24:06 Bananas and Clowns, Firefighters and

24:07 Coconuts. Again, I say three screens.

24:09 You want me to say it in Spanish? Tres

24:11 screens. Get them all up. Get them all

24:13 loaded.

24:13 >> to say it in Spanish, it's cuatro

24:14 screens, cuz you want to watch Jose as

24:16 well. So, there's four streams live

24:18 tonight. But, I I want to go to a point

24:20 you just talked about sitting atop the

24:22 leaderboard. That's Kyle Martin. It's

24:23 also his Texas Tailgaters. We take a

24:25 look at the league standings. X marks

24:27 the spot. In this case, it marks a spot

24:30 in the playoffs. The Tailgaters already

24:32 secured their ticket to the dance with a

24:33 win at the inaugural Banana Ball open

24:35 back in April. And we look at the red

24:37 equator line. Right now, fourth and

24:39 fifth are who we're watching. It's the

24:40 Coconuts and the Firefighters. The

24:42 Coconuts have a two and a half game

24:43 advantage over the Fire and Flames, but

24:45 that could change fairly aggressively

24:47 with the Firefighters win tonight.

24:48 >> Yeah, the Firefighters, the first thing

24:49 they have to do is take care of business

24:51 for themselves. Last night, they were

24:52 probably fans of the Texas Tailgaters

24:53 over the Party Animals. But, because the

24:55 PAs won, now they're up in the third

24:57 spot. Coconuts slide down into fourth.

24:59 Creates a little more separa-

25:01 separation, but the Firefighters can

25:02 really help their own cause tonight if

25:04 they take care of the Loco Beach

25:05 Coconuts. But, if the team in teal and

25:07 orange win, then they take the series

25:10 the season series against the

25:11 Firefighters with still two games to

25:12 play and they would have a head-to-head

25:14 tiebreaker should it come down to that

25:15 in October.

25:16 >> I've got my eyes on those Indianapolis

25:17 Clowns, man. They're up 2-0 in their

25:19 three-game series against the Savannah

25:21 Bananas. And just like that, in the

25:22 blink of an eye, with some things going

25:24 their way, the Clowns have a real chance

25:25 to climb over that red line. So, all six

25:28 teams are so evenly matched. It's a big

25:30 part of what's made this sport so

25:32 unique, so much parity across Banana

25:35 Land this season. Every match-up feels

25:37 like must-see beach TV, but especially

25:39 between these Firefighters and these

25:41 Coconuts. It's another sold-out crowd

25:43 over 7,000 in attendance here at Delta

25:46 Dental Stadium. Getting ready to get

25:48 warmed up by a young fan on the field.

25:51 We're going to send it down for that,

25:53 but don't go anywhere. The first pitch

25:54 is in 10 minutes time. And it's 5:00

25:57 somewhere, baby.

25:58 >> We're doing scuba.

26:03 We're doing a little hula.

26:09 Oh, now we're surfing. We're surfing.

26:12 We're surfing.

26:16 Jumping [music] jacks.

26:21 Clap those hands one more time.

26:26 Everyone is going absolutely crazy for

26:30 you. One more time for our junior surf

26:33 instructor, six-year-old

26:36 Cecil.

26:53 >> Ladies, gentlemen, boys and girls, and

26:57 beach bums from around the world. Since

27:00 the dawn of time, the world has battled

27:02 between order and chaos. For every sunny

27:06 day, there is the roar of a hurricane.

27:10 With every relaxing day at the beach,

27:12 there is the sheer force of a tsunami.

27:15 Nearly 200 years ago, America's pastime

27:18 [music] was established with a sense of

27:19 order. For a time, it swept the globe.

27:23 From Honolulu to Malibu, from Bombay to

27:26 Monterey, the people came to see it in

27:29 droves until tradition [music] faded.

27:33 The people

27:34 wanted more. Something new. Then, came a

27:37 sport that erupted like a volcano. A

27:41 sport that is of the fans, by the fans,

27:45 and for [music] the fans. A sport that

27:48 is baseball by birth, through by name,

27:50 and an absolute WORLDWIDE PHENOMENON BY

27:54 THE grace of God. This is the time for

27:58 all 7,000 people here in Manchester, New

28:02 Hampshire to get on your feet, hang

28:06 loose, let loose, and go absolutely

28:11 loco!

28:15 BECAUSE THIS IS THE CRAZIEST SHOW IN

28:19 SPORTS. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THIS IS

28:23 BANANA BALL!

28:24 >> [screaming]

28:29 >> AND NOW, YOUR STARTING lineup for your

28:32 Loco Beets Coconuts.

28:35 Leading off in center field, Ben

28:40 "The Kid" Tucker.

28:45 Second in left

28:47 Taylor

28:49 "The Jet"

28:53 Betting third, designated hitter, James

28:57 Topian.

29:02 Betting fourth, your first baseman,

29:05 Jordan

29:10 Betting fifth, right fielder, Gideon

29:15 Antone.

29:18 Betting sixth, your extra hitter,

29:22 Ash

29:24 Banning.

29:27 Betting seventh, third baseman, J.

29:31 P. Erso.

29:35 Betting eighth, the catcher,

29:38 Eric

29:39 Osborne.

29:45 Betting ninth, the second baseman,

29:48 Payton Sontag.

29:53 Betting 10th, the designated hitter,

29:56 Brady

29:59 Morgan.

30:02 Your starting pitcher for tonight, Will

30:06 >> [screaming]

30:11 >> Head coaches, Mark Rocco, assisted by

30:16 Andy Morales and Anthony Marks.

30:29 >> Ladies and gentlemen, at this time,

30:32 would you please rise, and if you're

30:34 able,

30:35 remove your caps

30:38 for the singing of our national anthem.

30:41 Coming to the field to sing tonight's

30:43 anthem,

30:44 Olivia Zegers.

30:50 >> Oh, say can you see

30:54 by the dawn's

30:56 >> [singing]

30:57 >> early light,

30:59 what so proudly

31:01 we held

31:04 at the twilight's

31:06 last gleaming?

31:09 Whose broad stripes and bright stars

31:14 through the perilous

31:16 [singing]

31:17 fight, or the ramparts we watched,

31:23 were so gallantly

31:26 streaming? [singing]

31:28 And the

31:30 rockets' red glare,

31:33 the bombs bursting

31:36 in air,

31:36 >> [screaming]

31:38 >> gave proof through the

31:41 night that our flag was [singing] still

31:45 there.

31:47 Oh, say does that star-spangled

31:55 banner yet

31:56 >> [screaming]

31:59 >> wave o'er the land

32:02 of the

32:03 free

32:06 and the

32:09 home

32:10 of the

32:11 brave?

32:13 >> Ladies [cheering] and gentlemen, once

32:15 again, Olivia Zegers.

32:31 The Loco Beach Coconut's, the Fire

32:33 Fighters, all rubber match at Delta

32:36 Dental Stadium, right here in

32:38 Manchester, New Hampshire, better known

32:40 for the weekend as Loco Beach USA. It's

32:43 the 17 and 17 Coconut Toasting, the

32:46 Firefighters who come in at 14 and 19

32:49 for a big-time matchup. If the Coconuts

32:51 win, they secure the season series over

32:54 the Fire and Flames. If the Firefighters

32:56 win, we'll have to wait all the way

32:57 until the final series of the season in

32:59 Biloxi, Mississippi, better known at

33:02 that time of year as Loco Beach USA, to

33:04 determine who wins the season bout

33:07 between these two teams. It's franchise

33:08 number three versus franchise number

33:11 five, the Coconuts, the Firefighters,

33:13 ready to do battle. And let's start by

33:16 taking a look at the Coconuts defense

33:18 that they bring to the table today.

33:19 There are some glaring changes compared

33:21 to what you're used to. Eric Osborne,

33:23 the typical battery mate in package deal

33:25 with Will Ethridge is sidelined with a

33:27 bicep strain, so he's out. Also, Dane

33:29 Toplin just going to hit today. JD Urso

33:32 taking over on [music] the hot corner.

33:33 And after Grady Morgan had game one and

33:35 two and left, Tanner Allen is slotted

33:38 into the left side of the outfield

33:39 tonight.

33:41 >> This is a mighty athletic infield with

33:44 the addition of JD Urso to third base.

33:46 You've already seen the magician that is

33:48 Sal Giacobbe at shortstop. This is as

33:50 good of a defense you're going to get.

33:52 Maybe the Firefighters try to test

33:53 Tanner Allen back out at left field

33:55 after not playing these first two games

33:57 in place of Grady Morgan tonight.

33:58 >> And everyone tries to protect the hill

34:00 for the F Factor. It's the Oxford Ox,

34:03 Will Ethridge, long-time Colorado

34:05 Rockies farm head, looking to put

34:08 together a winning outing here for the

34:11 Coconuts. Will Ethridge has been

34:13 phenomenal. He leads all pitchers in the

34:15 Banana Ball Championship League with 13

34:17 strikeouts this month. Get this, it's

34:19 come without a ball for sprint. That

34:21 ratio of 35 to 13 is special. The F

34:24 Factor, as they call him, absolutely

34:26 elite. He's had electrifying stuff as

34:28 he's gotten used to Banana Ball, making

34:30 the adjustment from professional

34:31 affiliated baseball, he has got more and

34:34 more comfortable, looked more and more

34:36 confident, and has gotten better and

34:38 better results as the seasons rolled by.

34:40 He's the day three starter for the

34:41 Coconut in a got-to-have-it game against

34:44 the Firefighters.

34:45 >> The Firefighters, last time they saw

34:46 Will Ethridge, was in Scranton. They put

34:48 up six runs on him, but just one was

34:50 earned. That will come much harder said

34:52 than done tonight. Excuse me, harder

34:54 done than said, because if you look at

34:56 the top of this order, Kaden Peanut

34:58 Green at 408, again, he is in the MVP

35:01 conversations. I know this league is

35:02 filled with rookie MVP candidates, but

35:04 this guy in his second year absolutely

35:06 deserves to be in that conversation. And

35:08 Eric Jones Jr. in the month of June, 478

35:12 average. If he swings the stick like he

35:14 did last night, folks, look out for the

35:16 number five hole here in this

35:17 Firefighter lineup.

35:19 >> Get your twisty straws in the air. It's

35:21 officially 5:00 in Guam, 7:00 Eastern

35:24 where we are, but it's 5:00 somewhere.

35:26 So, welcome to virtual Margaritaville

35:28 and Loco Beach. We're going to get this

35:30 wave started and get some action

35:32 underway.

35:34 >> Banana ball, we start the clock. And at

35:36 Loco Beach, every game begins with a

35:39 wave. So, Manchester, I need your help

35:41 creating the biggest wave this stadium

35:44 has ever seen. Starting right here in

35:47 right field on my count. And three,

35:52 two, one, start

35:55 the wave!

36:01 Showtime!

36:04 >> Larger than life, over 7,000 in unison

36:07 doing the wave, [music] and that's how

36:08 we start the clock in style here at Loco

36:11 Beach. It's Will Ethridge, it's Kaden

36:13 Peanut Green, and it's the first pitch

36:15 of the rubber match filling up the zone

36:16 for a called strike by today's home

36:18 plate umpire Kelly Dine.

36:21 0-1 turns 1-1 with a miss inside that

36:24 Green turns away from.

36:26 >> Last night was the golden batter got hit

36:28 in that left shoulder. Almost got it

36:30 right there.

36:32 Green

36:33 looper in the foul ground.

36:35 Brewer can't run it down and it's just a

36:37 long strike.

36:38 >> [music]

36:38 >> Five hits this series for young Peanut

36:40 at shortstop. Five of nine is the best

36:42 average of anybody here in Manchester,

36:44 New Hampshire.

36:46 >> Can he make it six for 10? Caden Peanut

36:48 Green battles it off.

36:51 Lives to see another pitch. Will

36:52 Ethridge is a big swing and miss guy. He

36:54 also induces

36:55 >> a lot of ground balls.

36:58 >> Great addition to this Locos Beach

36:59 staff.

37:01 One, two. Misses upstairs.

37:04 Bender didn't drop from 12 to 6 on the

37:06 clock.

37:08 Evens at deuces. Shakes off the first

37:10 call from Vining

37:11 with a fresh battery mate, Will

37:13 Ethridge.

37:14 Misses just away. He's used to throwing

37:15 to Eric Gasper. Interesting conversation

37:17 pregame today between Oxford, Ethridge,

37:19 and Vining all getting on the same page

37:21 about how Vining will call this game.

37:24 First time catching a Will Ethridge

37:25 start begins with a ball four sprint.

37:28 Caden Green's off to the races but

37:29 stalls up halfway between first and

37:31 second.

37:33 And it's a ball four sprint that gets

37:34 things underway. We talked about how

37:36 crucial those are, Zach.

37:37 >> Friends, part of the reason why I call

37:39 him MVP Nut is because he gets on base

37:42 at a .508 clip right now. That is top

37:44 five in the Banana Ball Championship

37:45 League. And once again, the newest lead

37:47 off hitter for the Firefighters is

37:49 aboard and it sends up DC3.

37:52 >> Left-handed sticky and right-handed arm,

37:54 the battle starts over as did Caden

37:55 Green's. Cornett will look to dip right

37:58 back into that same success his lead off

37:59 guy found.

38:02 Instead, it's shot well into the sky.

38:05 After getting lost up in the sun,

38:07 JD Urso, the third baseman, calls

38:09 everyone off and immediately gets

38:11 himself into the rhythm of the game. We

38:13 saw Dane Tomlin on the hot corner for

38:14 the first two games of this series for

38:16 Locos Beach, but Urso steps in and makes

38:19 a good play.

38:20 The last thing you want to do is see

38:22 that ball hit the ground. You got to

38:23 help your pitcher find out number one

38:25 when he induces that kind of contact.

38:26 >> But the only thing that could have

38:27 helped him right there if it does is you

38:28 probably get the lead runner at second,

38:30 but still you never want to chance it.

38:32 J.D. Hirschauer makes a mighty fine

38:33 play, a veteran savvy there third base.

38:36 >> Brings up showtime, Logan Lacey.

38:39 Right back into the netting and foul.

38:42 Lacey

38:44 actually has the third worst average as

38:45 it stands in this Fire Fighters lineup

38:47 at .263, nothing to scoff at. This

38:49 team's just been swinging it well.

38:52 Lacey, hard chopper.

38:55 Jacobo goes forward. His throw to

38:56 Schattinger's error and into right

38:58 field.

38:59 >> [music]

39:00 >> It's a single for Lacey that moves Green

39:02 to third.

39:04 And with one down, there's a couple

39:05 ducks on the pond for the Fighters.

39:09 >> It looked like Kaden Green got a mighty

39:11 nice lead off there. It's a really slow

39:12 hopper, too. Sal trying to turn it over

39:14 at the last second. That'll go down as a

39:16 single again for Logan Lacey. And now

39:18 Lamar Sparks, last night three for four,

39:21 has a chance to plate the first run of

39:23 the contest.

39:24 >> [music]

39:26 >> Number zero.

39:31 First pitch swing, can't catch up to the

39:33 elevated heater. That's where Will

39:34 Ethridge is at his best, when he starts

39:36 off 0-1 in the count. The dealer with

39:38 all the cards to his chest can go to

39:40 anything here.

39:42 The F factor makes it 0-2.

39:51 Pitcher friendly 0-2 count, ground ball

39:53 can get him out of the inning.

39:56 Will Ethridge from the stretch.

39:59 Sparks breaks the bat. There's that

40:00 ground ball. It goes from four to six

40:02 over TO THREE BETWEEN THE LEGS. Jordan

40:04 Brewer has a trick play. Will Ethridge

40:07 posts a zero and the Coconut come out

40:09 firing amidst adversity.

40:11 >> That is a massive double play there

40:13 because for the first time this weekend,

40:15 the Fire Fighters do not get a run to

40:18 start the game. Big time and Lamar

40:20 Sparks very nearly had it, but it's a

40:22 great throw over from Sal Giacoma.

40:25 >> Takes some guts from Jordan Brewer to go

40:26 between the lights there with a runner

40:28 on third, but it pays off. A trick play

40:30 for the Nats to scoreless top of the

40:31 first and it brings out this

40:33 Firefighters defensive look who will

40:35 look to mimic that success.

40:36 >> Look, the Firefighters defensively this

40:38 weekend have not had a ton of trick

40:39 plays, but they have been much better

40:41 this year than in the previous couple of

40:43 years at turning those tricky outs. For

40:45 the Tuna 294, just a couple away from

40:47 300.

40:49 See Kaden Peanut Greene at shortstop. He

40:50 has been so good there. Tyner Hughes

40:52 back at second base tonight. Sal

40:54 Trimble, who was the second baseman over

40:55 the last two nights, is moving [music]

40:57 into left field along with valuable

40:59 corner infielders in Logan Lacey and

41:02 Mason Maxwell. They will back up

41:04 Jared Donaldson. I know we talk about it

41:07 being a day on the beach, but we always

41:10 celebrate Donnie Day here in the

41:12 Firehouse when number 21 in red and that

41:15 lovely smile. Give him a hand to the

41:17 girl on fire. Hey, last weekend might

41:19 have been his most memorable start

41:20 memorable appearance for the Fire and

41:22 Flames in Memorial Stadium in Lincoln,

41:25 Nebraska. He struck out six, gave up

41:27 just three runs, did not pick up the

41:29 win, but was excellent and it's a

41:31 massive boost to his confidence coming

41:34 into tonight.

41:35 >> His 12 strikeouts in the month of June

41:36 trail only Coconuts starter Will

41:39 Ethridge. We've got premium arms on the

41:40 mound, but he's going to have to try to

41:42 mow through what has been the league's

41:44 most consistent offense to this point in

41:46 the season. How about one through seven

41:48 today for the Coconuts all hitting north

41:50 of 300. You've got Ben Parker, Tanner

41:53 Allen, Dane Toflin, the three

41:54 theoretically do up here in the home

41:56 half of the first inning, but then the

41:57 heart of the order with Brewer, Antle,

41:59 Vining, Urso all hitting over 300 as

42:01 well. The bottom nothing to scoff at.

42:03 Brett Carson, Grady Morgan have combined

42:05 for a pair of home runs across their

42:06 last couple series. Peyton Shotton Ye

42:08 doubled last night since returning from

42:10 injury. He's looked sharp, but it all

42:12 starts with Pumps.

42:16 Happy Donnie Day to all who celebrate

42:18 here in virtual Banana Land. That's me.

42:21 I celebrate.

42:22 >> [music]

42:25 >> Starts outside.

42:28 Ben Pumps Parker.

42:30 >> [music]

42:33 >> Parker swinging miss playing where his

42:35 brother Aaron

42:37 calls [music] home.

42:38 The double A home that is of the Toronto

42:41 Blue Jays here in New Hampshire.

42:45 Parker looking to put on a show much

42:46 like his brother has this season. Aaron

42:48 Parker six [music] home runs this year.

42:52 Day two pick for the Toronto Blue Jays.

42:54 Parker

42:56 shot high into the air. This one's going

42:57 to escape the field of play and get over

42:59 the tin roof.

43:03 I've not seen a fan caught foul ball

43:04 this week here in New Hampshire. Day

43:06 three the last chance they have

43:08 here in 2026 to get in the Granite

43:10 States.

43:12 Foul ball evens the count for Donaldson

43:13 is 2-2.

43:15 Hard hit ball Ben Parker into the corner

43:17 long RUN FOR SAM TRIMBLE. HE DIVES AND

43:20 MAKES THE GRAB. ROBBERY from Trimble.

43:23 They don't call him the magic man for

43:25 nothing. He just stole extra bases.

43:28 He made that ball disappear with a poof

43:30 of smoke.

43:32 That's why you move him to left field.

43:34 Look at this.

43:35 The incredible athleticism BUT THE

43:37 BRAVERY GOING towards the wall that

43:40 burst.

43:41 Sam Trimble, WHAT A PLAY TO START THIS

43:44 ONE OUT DEFENSIVELY. Ben Parker still

43:46 can't believe it. He was standing on

43:48 third base not even aware that that ball

43:50 was caught. That is a phenomenal play

43:53 that completely changes the direction of

43:56 this first inning. [music]

44:02 So instead of a runner on at least

44:03 second base and nobody away, [music]

44:05 there's one down with the bases vacant

44:07 for Tanner Allen.

44:10 >> [music]

44:12 >> There's the contact Donaldson's looking

44:14 for. Shallow left field. Keaton Peanutt

44:16 Green calls off Logan Lacey, now tips it

44:18 to him. Lacey loses his footing, but is

44:19 able to get it for the first trick play

44:21 of the day. Okay, so the Firefighters

44:23 looking like Dominos out there and

44:25 everything's falling their direction.

44:27 >> AJ, I'm sorry I keep promoting in your

44:29 calls here, but they're making some

44:31 incredible plays right now. Peanutt

44:33 really could sink into the sun and maybe

44:35 not much else. That tip drill is hard to

44:37 get to.

44:38 >> This could get the Firefighters out of

44:39 the inning. Toplin in the right center.

44:43 MCDOWELL BETWEEN THE LEGS. WHAT A GREAT

44:45 inning defensively from the Fire and

44:47 Flames. It's a scoreless first.

44:49 >> And that was just 2 minutes and 19

44:50 seconds. Darian McDowell completes a

44:54 fascinating defensive inning here for

44:55 the Firefighters. Two trick plays and

44:58 South Trimble with a magical start with

45:00 Michael.

45:00 >> Hey guys, well there was a rainbow just

45:02 over the field earlier in the game. I

45:04 think at the end of it was that catch.

45:07 That was unbelievable and we keep having

45:09 these reoccurrences.

45:10 >> Yeah, I know it felt really good. I got

45:11 a good read on the ball and

45:13 just try to get my glove on it and it

45:14 worked out.

45:15 >> How'd you track that down? How'd you

45:16 track that down? The sun's beating on

45:18 you. Walk me through it.

45:20 >> Well, one thing's for first, that's the

45:21 biggest left field I've ever seen in my

45:23 life. So I ran a long way for it, but we

45:25 got it down. There's a fan out there

45:26 heckling me right now.

45:28 After I made that play, we ended up

45:29 becoming best friends, but

45:30 >> Aw, I was I was about to go with them.

45:32 Back to you guys.

45:34 >> That's That's amazing. [screaming]

45:36 That's absolutely amazing. Where else

45:38 other than Banana Ball are you going to

45:39 get heckled and then follow that same

45:41 sentence by saying you're now best

45:42 friends? Well, with a play like that, I

45:44 think the heckling's got to stop. Smoke

45:46 just made that ball disappear and change

45:48 the entire outlook of the first inning

45:51 on the first ball in play for Loco

45:52 Beach. It brings us to the top of the

45:54 second where your Baby Boo, the Oxford

45:56 Ox, Will Ethridge, is back out for more.

45:59 >> Yeah, I cannot get over what just

46:01 happened there. That was 2 minutes and

46:02 19 seconds of just fireworks, thrill,

46:05 and banana ball.

46:06 Ended with Darian McDowell. I want to

46:08 I I don't want I don't want to take away

46:10 from him. He just had a tremendous

46:12 between-the-legs snag, something we've

46:14 come to expect [music] from a man we

46:15 call Premium.

46:20 >> Top of the second starts with the

46:21 five-hole bat, Eric Jones Jr. spitting

46:23 on a pitch low and away.

46:26 Ethridge right back in [music] the zone,

46:27 front door bender clips the inside part

46:29 of the strike zone.

46:36 Make it one, two, with a little help

46:38 from Ashby Vining.

46:44 Two hopper to short, the salamander

46:46 double dribble.

46:48 Oh, but Jordan Brewer wanted too much.

46:50 That would have been trick play number

46:51 70 for the Aquaman. Instead, the

46:53 Coconuts have a trick play missed to

46:55 kick off the second, which proved very

46:57 costly last night.

46:58 >> We saw three trick plays missed last

47:01 night for the Loco Beach Coconuts that

47:02 resulted not just in runs, but in points

47:05 against them. Zach Smith

47:08 was the uh

47:10 >> [snorts]

47:10 >> I don't want to say the victim of them

47:11 all, so he doesn't get anything added to

47:13 his ERA, and now Will Ethridge

47:15 potentially set up in that situation as

47:17 well.

47:20 >> Ethridge now working from the stretch

47:22 with a runner on first.

47:24 Kicks and fires.

47:26 Darian [music] McDowell watches it miss

47:27 belt high.

47:30 >> And you don't ever want to go against

47:32 guys going for trick plays and they miss

47:33 them.

47:34 Especially with the equalizer point,

47:36 it's so important to go for them. As

47:38 we've seen, Firefighters have been

47:39 denied that equalizer point twice.

47:42 But they can affect innings quite

47:43 quickly.

47:45 >> Brew shielding his eyes from the sun at

47:46 first base.

47:49 Ethridge delivers right down the heart

47:52 for strike two. Still looking for his

47:53 first baby boost celebration of the day.

47:55 does it come here?

47:56 >> [music]

48:00 >> No, instead it's fished out in the left

48:02 and takes a plunge in front of Tanner

48:03 Allen.

48:06 Moves the runner up a station. It's a

48:07 single for Darian McDowell.

48:10 >> Great piece of lumber laid down there

48:12 from Premium.

48:13 Usually swinging for the fences on

48:15 these, but he makes the adjustment. Golf

48:17 sat a little bit low, lifts it right

48:18 there. TA doesn't really have much of a

48:20 play on it. Diving back in left field

48:22 and already two aboard, nobody away. As

48:25 Mason Maxwell steps in.

48:28 >> Mad Max hitting 313 this year. On base

48:31 percentage 394.

48:36 Intimidating presence in the box. Let's

48:37 see how aggressive Etheridge wants to

48:39 get. He goes right up the shoot. Maxwell

48:41 cuts through the teeth of the defense

48:43 with a knife. Runs being signaled in to

48:45 score. The relay is not in time and the

48:47 first run of the game belongs to South

48:49 Trimble and the Firefighters.

48:52 >> That's what Mason Maxwell does so well

48:55 and I want to tell you about it, but

48:56 first

48:57 shall we dance?

48:59 Sure.

49:08 >> [music]

49:17 >> So, let me go back to what I was telling

49:19 you about. Coming into the weekend,

49:21 Mason Maxwell a 448 average with one out

49:24 runners in scoring position. You see why

49:26 right there. Not trying to do too much

49:28 with it, right back up the middle. It's

49:29 hard to get after a tall and lanky Will

49:32 Etheridge.

49:33 That one goes foul, but that one gets

49:35 him to duck out of the way. And the

49:36 first run again, for the third time this

49:38 weekend, goes to the Fighters.

49:40 >> Still no outs here in the top of the

49:41 second. Here's the Duncan Donuts batter,

49:43 Armando Becerra. On back-to-back nights,

49:45 the Coconuts have caked the donut

49:47 batter, providing free Duncan Donuts to

49:49 the fans here at Delta Dental Stadium.

49:52 More formerly known as the tooth in

49:54 these parts.

49:56 And Ethridge find his first punch out.

49:59 Make a lot of new fans.

50:01 The 1-1

50:03 doesn't help that cause it's low.

50:12 Fans chanting donut.

50:17 It's more well-hit contact. Armando

50:19 Becerra has got a base knock in the left

50:21 Tanner Allen relays it in to JD Ursúa

50:23 and the bases are juiced with nobody

50:25 away.

50:27 >> Yeah, particularly if you're a

50:28 Firefighter fan, you'd love to get

50:30 Darian McDowell home from second, but

50:31 that's the right base running call from

50:33 him and Val Perez. But it's another

50:34 great piece of hitting for a guy who

50:36 just keeps swinging the stick [music] so

50:38 well since he got reinserted back into

50:40 the lineup full-time. We told you about

50:42 Mondo mashing yesterday at 400 average

50:44 over the last 10 games going to go up.

50:47 >> First pitch swing from Tanner Hughes.

50:49 Potentially deep enough to score a run,

50:51 but Antle's got a hose. He's going to

50:52 have to put it on display. OH BOY, WHAT

50:55 A THROW! THE PLAY AT THE PLATE! HE'S GOT

50:57 HIM! OH MY ANTLE! GIDDY ANTLE!

51:01 UNBELIEVABLE!

51:02 A water cannon from right and Val Perez

51:05 immediately uses the challenge.

51:10 >> Darian McDowell was

51:12 incredulous that he was safe. He thinks

51:14 he's safe right off the rip.

51:16 Kelly Donham making the call. Let's see

51:18 if this angle helps us at all. I don't

51:19 know where the tag's placed or where the

51:21 hand is there.

51:22 Our high home is probably going to be

51:24 our best angle to see

51:27 with every bit of confidence what this

51:28 was.

51:30 >> That's one of the greatest throws I've

51:31 ever seen.

51:32 >> You can't put that in a better spot.

51:33 That's the angle. We're going to have to

51:34 see that slow down. That's the angle.

51:36 >> rewind that back a little and slow it

51:38 down. Because a lot more bang-bang than

51:41 I think we think with the naked eye or

51:42 at home.

51:43 Here you go. Let's play it here. Let's

51:45 really slow it down once it gets to

51:47 home.

51:49 Here you go.

51:54 He's out.

51:55 I still don't see where the tag's

51:56 placed, but I don't know that you have

51:58 enough evidence to overturn it. I think

51:59 this is probably going to stand. It's a

52:01 heck of a diving effort there from

52:03 Darian McDowell, but again, you talked

52:05 about it. It's not just a hose from

52:07 getting Antle. That was as accurate a

52:08 throw as you could have. If that's

52:10 anywhere to the right or the left,

52:11 Darian's safe.

52:12 >> And the runners are moving, so it's a

52:14 high-risk, high-reward play from Antle

52:16 to help his pitcher to what looks to me

52:18 like his first out of the inning.

52:19 >> Maybe this helps us a little bit more.

52:20 >> I guess I should say second out of the

52:22 inning. This would be a double play

52:23 after Antle brought it in and right.

52:25 We're taking a good long look to make

52:26 sure they get this call right. Kelly

52:28 Dine.

52:29 >> I can't see it entirely. So, like right

52:31 here, I can make the argument I don't

52:32 know that the tag is placed right on the

52:34 chest. It waits for a second till the

52:36 arm, but I can't tell you for sure.

52:41 >> Yeah, I'll be honest. I have a really

52:42 hard time overturning the call on the

52:43 field here.

52:48 >> Yeah, the other thing is I don't know if

52:49 Darian's hand got down in time. Yeah, I

52:51 don't I just don't know that you have

52:52 enough evidence to overturn it.

52:56 >> The 1-minute challenge clock is up, so

52:58 here comes the Latin umpire, Hector

53:00 Gonzalez.

53:02 And he's out. Kitty Antle.

53:05 Another week,

53:07 another water cannon from the Savannah

53:09 Bananas right fielder. Remember that

53:10 name. He had to wait until day two to

53:12 hear his name called during the Banana

53:13 Ball Championship League's first-ever

53:15 player draft. Yeah, he's here to stay.

53:18 One of the young faces of this beach

53:20 just [snorts] put together one of the

53:22 best throws of the season. It brings up

53:24 Dakota McFadden in the 10-hole,

53:26 who has a little excuse-me swing to

53:28 protect himself, putting it in an 0-1

53:30 count.

53:31 >> That's the first challenge we've seen

53:33 all weekend.

53:34 It's rare that you get that in a

53:35 three-game series where you have to wait

53:36 till game three, but that's important

53:37 now cuz the Fire Fighters have used it

53:40 already in the second inning.

53:42 >> If Petrick can get out of this inning

53:43 with only one run allowed, all things

53:45 considered, that's a big win. Getting an

53:47 Antle just helped him in a major way

53:48 with the bases loaded.

53:50 >> And you can't blame them for sending

53:51 Darian. He's back at the track.

53:53 >> Correct.

53:53 >> It's just a great throw.

53:55 >> It's the Gideon Antle effect. Hit and

53:56 run in effect here. Sal Giaccomo

53:58 charges, goes across the infield, and

54:00 the Coconuts close out the top of the

54:02 second. Now, before the Firefighters get

54:03 a run in, but my goodness, Gideon Antle

54:06 just changed the entire complexion of

54:08 the half inning with that throw from

54:09 right field.

54:11 >> Sal Giaccomo, no trick play going for

54:14 here. That's usually one where you might

54:15 see him do it, but with already a trick

54:16 play missed, you just want to get the

54:17 out. Want to make one note here, too.

54:20 Firefighters have already left a trio of

54:22 runners on base, potentially a fourth

54:24 with that double play ball in the top of

54:26 the first inning, but they do get a run

54:28 here, and now give something for Jerry

54:30 Donaldson to protect.

54:33 >> We go to the bottom of the second inning

54:35 where the Loco Beach Coconuts are going

54:37 to be trailing one nothing. So, one run

54:39 would tie the inning and keep it a

54:40 nothing-nothing ballgame. Two would walk

54:42 it off. Right now, the Firefighters have

54:43 four hits. The Coconuts were held

54:45 hitless in the bottom of the first

54:47 inning.

54:48 >> They're going to have the heart of their

54:49 order due up here. Jordan Brewer,

54:52 >> Gideon Antle, Ashby Vining.

54:54 The three due up for Loco Beach. Jordan

54:56 Brewer continuing to use Kaden Bowlers

54:58 bat. Told me pregame today, if you

55:01 remember that ball from last night where

55:02 Brewer thought it was for sure gone.

55:04 First and foremost, Ben Parker's

55:05 brother, Aaron, FaceTimed the team

55:07 today, this morning, and said that area

55:10 between the Hyundai sign and the

55:11 batter's eye in left center field is a

55:13 graveyard. He's yet to see a ball go out

55:15 there this season and plays here

55:16 full-time. Then, on the other side of

55:18 things, Brewer said, "I don't care if

55:19 it's a graveyard. I'm going to blame it

55:20 on the fact I'm using Kaden Bowlers

55:22 bat." So, you can believe whatever

55:23 theory you want there.

55:25 >> You can also blame it on the fact that

55:26 Armando Becerra is one of the fastest

55:28 fielders we have in the Bananaball

55:29 Championship League cuz he had to run a

55:31 mile to get there.

55:37 >> All right, let's get this second inning

55:40 bottom half underway. It starts with a

55:42 swing from Jordan Brewer right off the

55:43 backboard of the Sweets and down into

55:45 the seats.

55:46 >> Remember, Jordan Brewer tagged Jared

55:48 Donaldson for a couple of homers, but

55:50 Donnie's gone right back at him with a

55:51 couple of strikeouts.

55:53 >> This one's just on the carpet. Kayden

55:54 Green's got it. He goes between the

55:56 legs. Mason Maxwell tried behind the

55:57 back, can't get there. Jordan Brewer

55:59 never a second thought. He's off for

56:00 scoring position. The trick play missed

56:02 is costly. It equals two bags and the

56:04 tying runs on second base.

56:06 >> I just told you I wouldn't blame you for

56:08 going after a trick play there, but when

56:11 you already got one in the back,

56:12 sometimes it's tough to go for that

56:13 second [cheering] trick play as we saw

56:15 with Jordan Brewer.

56:16 Yeah, it just went way too left of him.

56:20 >> Gideon Antle

56:22 What do you have for us after that throw

56:23 from Wright?

56:29 >> [music]

56:34 [music]

56:55 [music]

57:02 [music]

57:21 >> Yeah, it's only the second inning. We've

57:22 got an early frontrunner for showman of

57:24 the night. Gideon Antle already has a

57:26 throw of the year candidate and now a

57:28 walk-up of the series candidate. What a

57:30 good song selection, well executed

57:32 [music] from Antle. Him and Toplin

57:34 worked on that flying jump move for

57:36 hours. Hours plural today to get that

57:39 right. So, a tip of the headset to

57:40 Gideon and company for putting together

57:42 a good signature walk-up. Now, after

57:44 running, dancing, flying, he's got to

57:45 lock in for an AB. And his hand [music]

57:47 comes. They say he did go around. At

57:49 least the crew chief, Jake Moore, over

57:51 at first indicated safe with a fist up

57:53 in the sky.

57:55 Quick 0-2 count for the Ant Man.

57:57 Donaldson wild. Really nice stop from

57:59 Eric Jones Jr. To make sure Antle didn't

58:01 take off for first.

58:09 Gideon Antle driven into center.

58:13 Reeled in by Armando Becerra. He loses

58:15 his footing and Jordan Brewer moves up a

58:17 station on his feet. So, the inning

58:18 tying run now stands 90 ft from scoring

58:21 and who else would you want to bring him

58:22 in but Ashby Bining.

58:24 >> [music]

58:25 >> Again, want to point out because of the

58:26 trick play missed

58:28 there will be no earned run against

58:30 Jerry Donaldson should he score, but

58:31 he's got a chance to really protect him.

58:42 Getting official word the Firefighters

58:43 have been returned their challenge.

58:45 There was no feed on that challenge. So,

58:47 they actually couldn't review it that

58:49 entire time. They were just trying to

58:50 figure out the tech.

58:53 Bining

58:55 high fly ball

58:57 foul ground Logan Lacey

58:59 tip drill. Caden Green goes between the

59:02 legs. It's a double trick play for the

59:03 Firefighters and out number two.

59:06 >> All right. That's as chancy as you can

59:08 get cuz remember, if the tip drill goes,

59:11 the second it touches the glove, runner

59:12 can tag up, but Logan Lacey betting

59:14 Jordan Brewer wouldn't go that shallow,

59:16 gets the tip drill and it results in a

59:18 double trick play.

59:20 >> Two down. It's all up to JD Urso.

59:22 Up the middle. Green dives, stops it.

59:25 His throw over's OFF LINE AND JD URSO

59:27 has tied the inning. It's an RBI single

59:30 for number seven. Urso stays red hot.

59:32 He's seeing beach balls at the dish. One

59:34 for one to start his day.

59:37 >> Man, you give a ton of credit to Cayden

59:39 Green for stopping that from going into

59:40 the outfield. Look at this play here.

59:42 Want to see if there's any chance of

59:44 trouble with the transfer. May have gone

59:45 out a little bit, but that would have

59:46 been a tough play either way. You give

59:48 him a ton of credit.

59:49 >> [music]

59:49 >> But again, it negates a lead in the top

59:51 half for the Firefighters and as the

59:52 visitors, you cannot afford to do that

59:54 too much.

59:55 >> What's even more emphasis now on the

59:56 importance of that throw from right

59:57 field by Gideon Antal that changed the

59:59 entirety of this second inning. It would

1:00:01 have been at least two runs for the

1:00:03 Firefighters if he didn't make that

1:00:04 throw. Instead, it's [music] tied and

1:00:05 the Coconut's can walk it off here. Dual

1:00:07 threat Brett hopper to the right side

1:00:09 gets by Maxwell, but coverage is there.

1:00:11 Tyner Hughes to Jared Donaldson. The

1:00:14 second inning [music] tied at one a

1:00:15 piece. It is still a nothing nothing

1:00:17 game as we head to the third.

1:00:19 >> Now, you can see Mason Maxwell trying to

1:00:21 make up for that play. And again, you

1:00:22 never fault the first baseman for trying

1:00:24 to go for something, but this is a great

1:00:25 backup here from Tyner Hughes. He's been

1:00:27 dealing with a little bit of a leg issue

1:00:29 over the last couple weeks. Look like he

1:00:30 was good there as Jared Donaldson

1:00:32 records the out. Again, no earned runs

1:00:34 against either of our pitchers here in

1:00:35 the second inning.

1:00:36 >> Zack, last weekend our myself, Drake

1:00:39 Toll, were sitting in a booth

1:00:41 in Jersey Shore, New Jersey and we

1:00:44 played witness to some cheaters. Two

1:00:46 babies walked during the world's slowest

1:00:49 race. You're only supposed to be able to

1:00:51 crawl. That is literally on the sheet.

1:00:54 So, we witnessed the first steps of two

1:00:56 little ones a week ago. Now, we have a

1:00:58 field of six. I'm hearing the betting

1:01:01 favorite is that one in the Hawaiian

1:01:04 shirt laying face down. They're off.

1:01:06 >> We already have a crier.

1:01:09 Quiet down on that field, all right?

1:01:11 >> The pressure is on. This is the

1:01:13 spotlight you dream of since you were

1:01:15 born just about 15 days ago.

1:01:18 >> More movement from the The one in the

1:01:20 red shirt. No, he wants to sit right

1:01:23 back down upright. [music]

1:01:24 >> He says no, he shook HIS HEAD NO AND

1:01:25 HE'S DROOLING.

1:01:27 >> THAT'S ALL OF US.

1:01:28 >> OH, OH.

1:01:29 >> WE HAVE MOVEMENT ON THE NEAR SIDE. One

1:01:31 of the three babies in the net matching

1:01:33 t-shirts has left his buddies behind.

1:01:36 >> There was a crier and now movement from

1:01:38 a ponytailed child. Will Ethridge is

1:01:41 throwing in the back.

1:01:43 Parents are begging. Children are not

1:01:45 obliging.

1:01:48 >> Tears. Cinnamon.

1:01:51 We may have to move the finish line up.

1:01:54 Because not only are we not seeing first

1:01:56 steps, we're not seeing any movement.

1:01:58 >> Children move.

1:02:00 >> POTENTIAL TREATS AWAIT THEM ALL.

1:02:03 HOLD ON.

1:02:04 >> DEVELOPMENT.

1:02:06 A CHILD IS TRYING TO STAND.

1:02:09 OH, MORE MOVEMENT.

1:02:12 Blow those raspberries. Oh my gosh, it's

1:02:14 love at first sight. It's love at first

1:02:16 sight [music] on the grass. Oh, oh, oh

1:02:18 my goodness.

1:02:19 >> We're touching. ALL RIGHT.

1:02:20 >> THEY'RE FALLING IN LOVE BEFORE our very

1:02:22 eyes. And there's one OFF TO THE RACES.

1:02:25 >> Those two need to get a room.

1:02:28 She needs to find the finish line.

1:02:30 >> Hold on a moment. HUCKLEBERRY SHIRT IS

1:02:32 STARTING TO GET CLOSE.

1:02:33 >> GOING TO BE TIGHT.

1:02:35 IN MAGIC SHIRTS.

1:02:37 With love on the horizon.

1:02:41 Who wants it the most?

1:02:43 >> CHILDREN, THE LINE IS THERE. A MOMENT

1:02:47 AWAITS YOU.

1:02:48 >> HAND AFTER HAND. Foot after foot.

1:02:52 AT THE PACE OF A SNAIL. We have a

1:02:55 winner.

1:02:56 AND IT'S THAT LITTLE ONE at 14 to 1

1:02:59 odds.

1:03:00 Making a man in Salt Lake City, Utah

1:03:03 rich.

1:03:05 With 12 grand on the world's lowest

1:03:07 race. It's secured. By that mom and son.

1:03:13 >> 9 lb, 1 oz at 14 to 1 odds. Just beat

1:03:17 their weight and the odds. What a child.

1:03:21 What a race.

1:03:24 >> You know how much easier life would be

1:03:25 if you just fell fell in love at 1 year

1:03:27 old?

1:03:28 Those two have it made, man, and they

1:03:29 don't even know it yet.

1:03:32 >> Here's the top of the third and the top

1:03:34 of the order.

1:03:35 Caden Green

1:03:37 up to kick it off.

1:03:38 Want to remind you, too.

1:03:41 Second, Green lined in a right. [music]

1:03:43 Gideon Adlon gets underneath

1:03:45 >> it. I know where you're going. I don't

1:03:46 have to challenge it. Tell them about

1:03:48 the challenge.

1:03:48 >> Yep. So, the firefighters used their

1:03:51 challenge in the second inning. Umpires

1:03:53 could never really use the tech, so now

1:03:55 the firefighters have been awarded that

1:03:57 challenge back because of those

1:03:58 difficulties down in the third base

1:04:00 dugout.

1:04:02 >> Quick out for Ethridge [music] and Co.

1:04:03 Here's DC3.

1:04:05 >> Oh, Ethridge looks confident.

1:04:08 Wonder what two how both of these

1:04:10 pitchers are affected now that they

1:04:11 saved a potential point after a trick

1:04:14 play missed.

1:04:16 >> Both pitchers have done a really good

1:04:18 job of being unfazed by the defense

1:04:19 behind them.

1:04:22 >> Ethridge in the zone again.

1:04:23 >> Ball's battled off into the hood of a

1:04:26 teal Jeep.

1:04:27 Counts one, two.

1:04:33 >> DC3 slashed in the left. It's a tailing

1:04:36 line drive.

1:04:37 >> Looks like me hitting driver off the tee

1:04:39 box.

1:04:40 >> Plenty of slice to it, right to

1:04:42 Johnny-on-the-spot Tanner Allen camped

1:04:44 underneath it.

1:04:45 >> And it's walk-up time. You know, could

1:04:46 you imagine if [music] those two babies

1:04:48 get married one day? I better be at the

1:04:50 wedding. That's all I'm saying. We get

1:04:51 We get invites. I won't invite you to

1:04:53 this classroom.

1:05:13 >> And I'm really

1:05:14 excited to be here.

1:05:24 >> [music]

1:05:39 [music]

1:05:50 >> Desks are in the air. Mason Mac Flaherty

1:05:52 threw a chair.

1:05:54 And Logan Lacey does not want to go to

1:05:55 school as Marshall Shell, who I told not

1:05:58 to wear the hat when he was the teacher,

1:06:00 ignored my instructions. So, what an

1:06:02 educator he is. And Logan Lacey, out of

1:06:05 school

1:06:06 and into the batter's box.

1:06:08 Immediately goes fishing, and can't reel

1:06:10 it in.

1:06:14 Lacey right back up the mound. Jacobo

1:06:16 between the legs. Brewer closed it off.

1:06:18 It's a three up, three down inning

1:06:21 for the F [music] Factor. A minute 19

1:06:24 officially for Will Ethridge, who went

1:06:26 40 pitches, has yet to give up a point.

1:06:28 And now it's up to his offense to earn

1:06:30 it after we go down to the field with

1:06:31 Chrissy Slaws and Banana Foster.

1:06:34 >> Across the United States, there are over

1:06:37 400,000

1:06:39 children and teens in foster care

1:06:41 without a permanent home. To raise

1:06:44 awareness and support this community, we

1:06:46 created Bananas Foster, the official

1:06:49 non-profit of Banana Ball. Our

1:06:52 organization is dedicated to celebrating

1:06:55 the foster care community while

1:06:57 educating and inspiring others to get

1:06:59 involved. Tonight, we get to celebrate

1:07:02 the Harmon family. As a social worker,

1:07:05 Teresa sees the need for foster homes on

1:07:08 a daily basis and so together with her

1:07:10 husband Andy they've opened their home

1:07:13 as a licensed foster family. They've

1:07:15 even gone on to create a non-profit

1:07:19 dedicated to supporting children with a

1:07:21 history of prenatal drug exposure. In

1:07:24 the last 5 years they have welcomed

1:07:27 three children into their home and have

1:07:29 impacted thousands across New England.

1:07:33 Fans, please join me in celebrating this

1:07:37 incredible family for making a

1:07:39 difference right here in your community.

1:07:51 >> Wow, incredibly empowering stuff from

1:07:54 the Harmon family making an impact right

1:07:56 here in New Hampshire. As always, if you

1:07:58 want to get involved with the best

1:08:00 moment of every Banana Ball game it's as

1:08:01 simple as a text of the word bunch

1:08:03 that's b u n c h to the number 50155

1:08:07 and you can support the Bananas Foster

1:08:09 family today.

1:08:11 It's fans first by every definition of

1:08:14 the phrase and while we're on the topic

1:08:16 let's take a look at today's fan

1:08:17 question of the game.

1:08:21 >> [cheering]

1:08:23 >> Everybody's favorite part of the day is

1:08:25 here. The Banana Ball backstage question

1:08:27 of the day. I am here with 12 year old

1:08:29 Caitlin and she's got a question for

1:08:31 firefighters coach Val Perez. What do

1:08:34 you got?

1:08:35 >> What Disney character did you used to

1:08:37 have a crush on?

1:08:39 >> Val, what do you say?

1:08:41 >> I have to go with Aladdin. Um, he seems

1:08:44 like the most athletic Disney character

1:08:46 that I've ever met that I haven't met

1:08:48 but that I've heard of. So, I would go

1:08:51 with Aladdin.

1:08:53 >> It's a bold choice. I think I'm the most

1:08:55 athletic Disney character but okay,

1:08:58 Aladdin it is. Here's Jared Donaldson.

1:09:00 This is the first time he's had this

1:09:02 tall of a task in this game.

1:09:04 With momentum starting to drift away at

1:09:06 the beach, it's up to him to get it

1:09:07 right back in the Firefighters corner.

1:09:10 Got to be perfect. If he gives up a run,

1:09:12 it'll walk off the third.

1:09:15 Donnie also was able to salvage a point

1:09:17 saved in the second inning as well after

1:09:19 a trick play missed. So, [music]

1:09:22 momentum could be swinging a couple

1:09:23 different ways, but I tell you what, it

1:09:24 could also be swinging back the way the

1:09:26 Firefighters just as much. Both teams

1:09:27 [music] offensively have taken some

1:09:29 opportunity and speaking of taking

1:09:31 opportunity offensively, this dude in

1:09:34 the month of June is hotter than the

1:09:36 sun. His name is Eric Jones [music] Jr.

1:09:41 We call him Eric Jones Jr. Well, because

1:09:43 that's what his parents called him as

1:09:44 well. That's what they named him. EJ is

1:09:46 on the mic. What's up, my friend?

1:09:48 >> Zach?

1:09:49 >> How are you? You you you have had a

1:09:52 month, haven't you?

1:09:53 >> That's That's true.

1:09:55 It's been fun.

1:09:56 Uh we had some good momentum going,

1:09:59 especially last week.

1:10:01 >> [music]

1:10:02 >> I don't think that does it justice.

1:10:03 We've all had a month. We've all had a

1:10:05 life in June. Had a month.

1:10:07 >> You You had

1:10:09 >> quite a month.

1:10:09 >> Thank you.

1:10:12 Um it's just fun.

1:10:14 >> [cheering]

1:10:14 >> Getting to play Banana Ball, it really

1:10:16 is just a blessing to play this game

1:10:18 and

1:10:20 I love this team. I love my my friends

1:10:22 and

1:10:24 everybody's doing

1:10:26 everything they can

1:10:28 play the best games we can. We got a

1:10:30 one-two count right here.

1:10:31 >> We do have a one-two count. I'll wait

1:10:32 for a moment. Let's hold that.

1:10:35 >> Oh, yeah! Donnie!

1:10:38 >> What'd you call there?

1:10:39 >> Uh we went with a heater there.

1:10:41 >> Of course you did.

1:10:42 >> You can use the heater.

1:10:43 >> All right, so let me explain what this

1:10:44 month has been for Eric Jones Jr. Your

1:10:46 .478 average coming into the night, .538

1:10:49 OBP, two showmen of the nights, and oh

1:10:51 by the way, just in case you wanted to

1:10:53 add a little spiciness on there, he

1:10:55 flipped a bat to the Lord above after

1:10:57 hitting a walk-off home run in Lincoln,

1:10:59 Nebraska against the Savannah Bananas.

1:11:00 Does that do it justice?

1:11:02 Yes.

1:11:03 >> Sound like a good recap.

1:11:05 >> I tried as best I can. Has your phone

1:11:07 stopped blowing up since last weekend?

1:11:09 >> Uh

1:11:10 I would say so. It's like there's a

1:11:11 little buzz after the games.

1:11:14 But there's a little buzz after the

1:11:15 games and then you kind of have the week

1:11:17 to sit on it, which is uh

1:11:20 part of Banana Ball. That's you know,

1:11:22 when you're doing good it's fun and then

1:11:23 when you're struggling it's

1:11:26 tough to have time.

1:11:28 >> Brady Morgan

1:11:29 shot in the right for a single.

1:11:31 So that's the [cheering] inning-winning

1:11:32 run on over at first base. Eric, what's

1:11:34 your relationship like with Jared

1:11:36 Donaldson?

1:11:36 >> Uh he's the best. I love getting to

1:11:38 catch Donnie. Love getting to work

1:11:40 together. He's a great competitor.

1:11:42 He's always just bringing energy

1:11:45 and uh

1:11:49 It's just great. I mean, we go get a

1:11:51 steak like almost every week now.

1:11:53 >> Of course you do.

1:11:54 >> And uh

1:11:56 Zack's been Zack's been to get a steak

1:11:58 with us.

1:11:59 >> Darn right I have. Firebirds in

1:12:01 Greenville, South Carolina watched

1:12:03 Zachary Bridges drink seven Coke Zeros

1:12:05 in one sitting.

1:12:05 >> Firebirds has been hooking it up this

1:12:07 year.

1:12:07 >> Yeah, they have, man.

1:12:08 >> And uh

1:12:09 man, it's good food.

1:12:11 >> Seven Coke Zeros is light work. So is

1:12:13 slashing singles for Ben Parker. [music]

1:12:16 The guy with the best on-base percentage

1:12:17 in the Banana Ball Championship League

1:12:19 getting on base over 52% of the time

1:12:21 adds to that tally, moving the

1:12:23 inning-winning run to scoring position.

1:12:25 Eric, what's your go-to cut of steak?

1:12:27 How do you like it cooked?

1:12:28 >> I would say I prefer a ribeye.

1:12:30 And depends on where you go, but most

1:12:36 Most of the time medium rare.

1:12:39 >> Medium rare. I I can see that. I can see

1:12:41 that with you.

1:12:41 >> Sometimes when we go to Texas Roadhouse

1:12:43 I'll get it medium.

1:12:44 Um comes out a little bit more raw over

1:12:47 there, but

1:12:48 You know, you don't want to overcook it.

1:12:49 That's the main thing.

1:12:50 >> Correct. You don't want to overcook it.

1:12:52 [cheering]

1:12:52 Last time you and I chatted on the

1:12:54 microphone, you said the mustache was

1:12:55 coming off after Lincoln. Given the way

1:12:57 June has gone, is that mustache just

1:12:58 going to have to be glued onto your

1:12:59 face?

1:13:00 >> mustache is going,

1:13:02 but

1:13:04 >> [music]

1:13:07 >> but it just didn't feel right to take it

1:13:09 after Lincoln. So

1:13:10 >> Then you look at what you've done this

1:13:12 weekend.

1:13:13 >> Well

1:13:17 I

1:13:20 >> Ooh, that's a beautiful slider.

1:13:21 >> Yeah, I was trying to find the right

1:13:22 pitch there.

1:13:23 >> That's a beautiful slider.

1:13:25 >> Yeah, I know, but at some point it's got

1:13:27 to go.

1:13:28 It's just when. That's a swing. That's a

1:13:29 swing, yes. Yeah.

1:13:31 >> E J, not much of a superstitious guy?

1:13:33 >> Uh I try not to be

1:13:35 cuz there would be a million things to

1:13:36 be

1:13:37 about if you wanted to, you know, but

1:13:40 >> it's like ultimately if I can just get

1:13:41 my swing right and you know, everybody

1:13:44 get on the same page, like

1:13:48 That's really what it's all about.

1:13:50 But

1:13:50 >> However, I will say

1:13:51 >> time, if something's working, you let it

1:13:53 work, you know?

1:13:53 >> Yeah, like last night when you were two

1:13:55 for three and should have been three for

1:13:56 four.

1:13:57 >> Thank you. That is

1:13:58 you know

1:14:00 it's tough. We work hard over here, but

1:14:03 I thought that one was fair.

1:14:05 >> It was. You got Showman in the game,

1:14:06 though. We'll we'll we'll we'll take it

1:14:08 where we'll take we'll take the wins

1:14:09 right there.

1:14:10 >> the win and that's ultimately the only

1:14:11 thing.

1:14:12 >> Dude, wedding is in less than a month.

1:14:13 >> That is true.

1:14:15 >> Is that not insane?

1:14:17 >> It is. It's exciting.

1:14:21 >> Okay, E J, so here, knowing of all four

1:14:23 splitter at the inning, what do you go

1:14:25 to?

1:14:25 >> Whatever he wants.

1:14:27 >> That's a great answer. Whatever he feels

1:14:29 like he can locate.

1:14:29 >> Let me guess, splitter.

1:14:33 Yes, that's the

1:14:34 >> It works.

1:14:35 Splitter dropped off the table for

1:14:37 strike three. Fires up Jared Donaldson

1:14:39 and for good reason. You guys an out

1:14:41 away from getting out of the inning. E

1:14:42 J, you like seeing that emotion from the

1:14:44 starter?

1:14:45 >> Yeah, I just I love Donny doing his

1:14:47 thing. And

1:14:50 you know, he fires everybody up.

1:14:52 He's a passionate guy and he just it's

1:14:55 awesome to work with.

1:14:56 >> [music]

1:14:57 >> Come on.

1:14:59 >> This will be the inning one way or

1:15:00 another. Logan Lacey across the diamond

1:15:02 and

1:15:03 the Firefighters strand the bases

1:15:05 loaded. Thank you, Aaron.

1:15:06 >> We got out of it.

1:15:08 >> Yes, you did. EJ, you're the absolute

1:15:10 man. Go get us a bomb here in a moment.

1:15:12 >> Hey, that would be great. Let's do it

1:15:13 right here.

1:15:14 >> You're the man, Logan.

1:15:15 >> Love you, too, man. Thank you. See you

1:15:16 guys.

1:15:17 >> Well, it's good hearing from our own.

1:15:19 Coconuts having trouble bringing those

1:15:21 runners in scoring position into score.

1:15:23 Continuation of yesterday. The bases

1:15:25 stranded loaded. Let's take a look at

1:15:27 who has been taking advantage of the

1:15:29 month of June. It's Eric Jones Jr. It's

1:15:31 Caden Green. Both hitting 478. They had

1:15:34 a four combined hits last night.

1:15:36 >> My gracious. Take a look at this graphic

1:15:38 and just marvel at what has happened

1:15:41 here [music] in the first few games of

1:15:43 the month of June for my friends and

1:15:45 co-workers, Eric Jones Jr. and Caden

1:15:47 Green. They know the mission. The

1:15:49 mission is hit and score. And look at

1:15:51 what they've done. They've hit. They've

1:15:53 hit for average. They've gotten on base.

1:15:55 >> [music]

1:15:55 >> And EJ's got eight RBI in the month of

1:15:58 June. Peanut, two RBI, but guess what?

1:15:59 You're the lead-off batter. You ain't

1:16:00 batting in many runs unless you're

1:16:02 [music] batting yourself, which by the

1:16:03 way you can do. These two have been so

1:16:06 good as the summer has started. As we

1:16:08 see sitting with Saturn on the field

1:16:11 now, they're going to be blazing in the

1:16:13 summer as well, but you know what we

1:16:15 could be doing, we could be marveling at

1:16:17 the great hitters of the Firefighters

1:16:18 and we are with our summer slashers,

1:16:20 Eric Jones Jr. and my friend Caden

1:16:22 Peanut Green. Where did that accent come

1:16:24 from?

1:16:26 >> One in Guam.

1:16:28 >> I don't think we're in Guam. I think we

1:16:30 like we couldn't be further from Guam

1:16:32 right now.

1:16:33 >> Man, it's a state of mind, Zach. We've

1:16:36 only got one more series together after

1:16:37 this year. I need you to get it through

1:16:39 your head. You can be anywhere you want,

1:16:41 just like Loco [music] Beach. You just

1:16:42 have to look deep enough in that heart.

1:16:44 You know what? Loco Beach to me

1:16:47 is being in the arms of my wife.

1:16:50 >> That's a great answer. That That is Loco

1:16:52 Beach. And I say that

1:16:53 probably because she's watching.

1:16:55 >> [laughter]

1:16:56 >> I don't know. She might be asleep, but

1:16:58 >> Shout out to Logan.

1:16:59 >> Shout out to Logan, man. She's Loco

1:17:01 Beach.

1:17:02 >> Know a lot of good Logans in this world.

1:17:03 None better than Logan Staten back at

1:17:05 home.

1:17:06 >> Aw.

1:17:07 That was Loco Beach, man. See, you've

1:17:09 got me feeling it now. That emotion,

1:17:11 that love, that that passion, that that

1:17:13 is Loco Beach.

1:17:14 >> Whatever that shell was around my heart,

1:17:16 I feel like it just cracked.

1:17:18 I feel

1:17:19 >> His heart grew seven sizes that day.

1:17:22 >> I feel like I'm I'm growing here, man.

1:17:24 Like I feel some like light radiating

1:17:25 through my soul.

1:17:28 Man, that's just

1:17:30 >> [music]

1:17:31 >> That was cool.

1:17:32 Lamar Sparks not stealing first. I

1:17:34 wonder what that's all about.

1:17:37 >> Man, I love Loco Beach. This is a great

1:17:39 state of mind.

1:17:40 >> I do, too. By the way, Lamar couldn't

1:17:41 have stolen there. It's too good of a

1:17:42 ricochet off the back of the wall.

1:17:44 >> [music]

1:17:46 >> Still smiling

1:17:48 after Ethridge misses low and in.

1:17:50 >> [music]

1:17:51 >> It's Sparks,

1:17:52 Jones Jr., McDowell due up here for the

1:17:55 Firefighters. Starting [music] with

1:17:56 Lamar Sparks, who's count even at twos

1:17:58 after he stares at a strike.

1:17:59 >> That's a heck of a cutter right there.

1:18:00 And that's one of the things

1:18:01 Firefighters have told me they were

1:18:02 looking for so many cutters from Will

1:18:04 Ethridge.

1:18:04 >> Oh, boy. And she going to call him Baby

1:18:07 Boo. It's the first strikeout of the

1:18:09 start for Will Ethridge. Had nine in

1:18:11 Milwaukee, a scoreless day against the

1:18:13 Party Animals.

1:18:15 >> [music]

1:18:15 >> Yet to surrender a point here in his

1:18:16 first punchout. Just dips underneath

1:18:19 Lamar Sparks' big bat.

1:18:22 >> But now, my friend Eric Jones Jr.

1:18:25 Oh my gracious, I thought he'd hit one

1:18:27 to the Hilton Garden Inn, except it was

1:18:29 about 300 yards to the left.

1:18:35 I've been fooled once or twice here this

1:18:36 weekend.

1:18:38 >> Sorry, [music] I had my eyes closed. I

1:18:39 was imagining Loco Beach.

1:18:42 In my mind, it was

1:18:43 a lot of smiles.

1:18:47 Just having an extra seat open next to

1:18:48 you on the plane. Got that one from you.

1:18:50 >> Oh, yeah, baby. I got that one the other

1:18:52 day, thanks to Southwest Airlines.

1:18:56 >> There's so many reasons to smile in this

1:18:57 world. Sal Giacobbo is going to add to

1:18:59 it here, I guarantee it. Around the

1:19:00 world, yes, sir. It's a trick [music]

1:19:02 play for the salamander. He's so magical

1:19:04 in the middle

1:19:05 >> infield.

1:19:06 >> Third most trick plays in the Banana

1:19:08 Ball Championship League. And uh-oh,

1:19:10 uh-oh, there's two outs. It's the top of

1:19:12 the fourth inning. Oh my gosh. Oh my

1:19:14 gosh. Brace yourself, Zach.

1:19:16 Protect the gear.

1:19:21 Because there is a tsunami taking over

1:19:24 Loco Beach, New Hampshire.

1:19:27 >> Will Letheridge not wait for it to

1:19:28 start?

1:19:30 >> Here come the sprinklers. One is

1:19:32 literally under Payton Schaut and Yaya

1:19:34 at second.

1:19:35 >> know if he's aware of that right now.

1:19:36 >> His booty's going to be wet.

1:19:41 >> Woah.

1:19:41 >> Good frame job from Vining amidst the

1:19:43 tsunami

1:19:45 to help his pitcher to a 2-1 count.

1:19:47 >> Oh, boy.

1:19:49 >> Letheridge

1:19:51 forces a weak pop up.

1:19:54 He wanted the trick play. Brewer calls

1:19:55 him off and Giacobbo gets an elbow to

1:19:57 the head, but at the end of the day,

1:19:59 Will Letheridge is all of us. They got

1:20:01 it out and he's happy with it.

1:20:03 Three up, three down for the Loco Beach

1:20:05 defense.

1:20:07 It is time for quite the large hay baby.

1:20:10 It started on the Mayflower. It made its

1:20:12 way to Banana Ball. And now here at Loco

1:20:14 Beach, 7,000 and larger than life,

1:20:17 waving their arms, smiling, remembering

1:20:20 how good the vibrations are here at Loco

1:20:23 Beach. So, let's get a little hay baby

1:20:24 going before we return in the bottom of

1:20:26 the fourth.

1:20:34 >> Yeah. we go.

1:20:39 >> [music]

1:20:53 [music]

1:21:01 >> Get ready to throw steps in.

1:21:09 >> [music]

1:21:18 >> Here we go again.

1:21:31 Last one.

1:21:45 Manchester, give yourselves a round of

1:21:48 applause. You did amazing.

1:21:55 Not sure how much of that

1:21:57 you guys saw.

1:21:59 I'm just really proud I kept my son safe

1:22:01 again, Yoshi.

1:22:03 We learned our lesson.

1:22:05 >> I tried to tell

1:22:05 >> a blind eye around Zack Staten. I know

1:22:08 we let Drake Toll push the buttons

1:22:09 during Hey Baby. I'm not sure how much

1:22:11 of the booth you guys got to see, but

1:22:12 Zack, that was mean.

1:22:14 >> [music]

1:22:15 >> Sorry about that. I'm just enjoying a

1:22:16 lovely tropical smoothie.

1:22:18 >> Tro Smo.

1:22:19 >> From our friends at Tropical Smoothie

1:22:20 Cafe. By our friends, I mean the ones at

1:22:22 Loco Beach.

1:22:23 >> Tro Smo car.

1:22:25 >> Again, going with the Island Green

1:22:28 Detox.

1:22:29 For some reason they put Splenda in this

1:22:31 bad boy.

1:22:34 >> All right, Gideon Antal starts off the

1:22:36 bottom of the fourth [music] with a long

1:22:37 foul ball, a loud one at that.

1:22:40 >> I can taste the Splenda.

1:22:43 It's pretty good.

1:22:45 >> Got myself [music] a sunrise sunset, the

1:22:47 usual here at the beach.

1:22:49 >> Yeah, you did.

1:22:50 >> Look at this.

1:22:52 >> Some ice

1:22:53 >> stuck to the Styrofoam.

1:22:55 >> [music]

1:22:56 >> Keeping it cold throughout the night.

1:22:57 >> Powerful. I just got a brain freeze.

1:22:59 >> A brain freeze?

1:23:00 >> Yeah, I'm about to sit out for about 20

1:23:02 seconds.

1:23:02 >> You were drinking that thing fast.

1:23:04 >> I was really happy about some tea.

1:23:05 >> Hey, baby, it'll do it to you. [music]

1:23:06 Cayden Green will too, between the legs.

1:23:09 You can count that one. They get Gideon

1:23:10 Antal in time for out number one.

1:23:13 >> Yeah, let me play through pain here for

1:23:14 a minute. Oh my goodness, to tell you

1:23:16 that [music] Peanut has picked up

1:23:17 another trick play. That's his third of

1:23:18 the night after not getting any trick

1:23:20 plays for the first two games. I'm not

1:23:22 going to lie, AJ, I'm having some

1:23:22 trouble here.

1:23:24 That's a heck of a dig out there, too,

1:23:25 by Mason Maxwell. Okay, I'm

1:23:30 I'm going to be honest with you. I

1:23:31 didn't realize that a smoothie would

1:23:32 give you brain freeze.

1:23:35 Like, it just it it stunned me.

1:23:37 >> You clearly don't drink enough

1:23:38 smoothies.

1:23:39 Finding.

1:23:40 >> [music]

1:23:40 >> 0-1 swinging to center. Becerra tips it

1:23:43 to himself, tips it to himself again,

1:23:45 and goes to the bare hand for a trick

1:23:46 play.

1:23:47 Firefighters have the trick play

1:23:48 advantage now 6-3.

1:23:51 There's two quick [music] outs to bring

1:23:52 up JD Urso, who's 1-for-1 with an RBI

1:23:54 single today.

1:23:56 >> Man, Armando Becerra has really mastered

1:23:58 that double tip drill as JD Urso swings

1:24:00 at strike one. Jared Donaldson moving

1:24:03 and grooving right now.

1:24:12 >> [music]

1:24:12 >> Been asked why the Firefighters and the

1:24:13 Coconuts have no points yet. Well, they

1:24:14 both did score a run in the second

1:24:16 inning, but because you score runs

1:24:17 doesn't mean you score points.

1:24:19 >> Urso, screamer in the left. He's two for

1:24:22 two.

1:24:23 JD Erso becoming a mainstay in this

1:24:25 Coconut's lineup and for good reason.

1:24:27 The Division II record holder, 93-game

1:24:29 on-base streak at Tampa.

1:24:32 That's to an already dazzling day with

1:24:34 this single.

1:24:35 >> And to finish that thought up, it's

1:24:37 because every inning counts as a point,

1:24:38 so you got to win that inning to win a

1:24:39 point. Firefighters scored in the top of

1:24:41 the second, but they allowed a run to

1:24:43 score, so that inning pushed.

1:24:49 >> How's up to the 10 hole.

1:24:52 No, the eight hole. Brett Carson to get

1:24:54 it done. You're locoed out. Told you,

1:24:57 any number after nine is really hard for

1:24:59 me.

1:25:00 Brett Carson hits it to position seven

1:25:02 in the field, that's left.

1:25:04 Now, Trimbles underneath it.

1:25:06 The magic man tipped it up to himself.

1:25:07 It's a two-trick play, scoreless inning

1:25:09 for the Firefighters and still a

1:25:11 scoreless game. The equalizer point

1:25:13 going to be majorly, majorly involved in

1:25:15 this game where runs and points are

1:25:17 coming at a premium. Let's go down to

1:25:20 Manchesther.

1:25:23 >> Now, down to the field with Cass.

1:25:26 >> Ladies and gentlemen, we love, love here

1:25:29 in Banana Ball, and right now, we're

1:25:30 about to put love to the test. As you

1:25:33 can see, Jessica cannot, but we have

1:25:36 three wonderful men. She's going to go

1:25:39 down the row, and at the end, she has to

1:25:41 guess which one is her husband.

1:25:45 That's right, she's going to feel all

1:25:47 three chests, and at the end, she's

1:25:49 going to guess which one is her husband.

1:25:53 Jessica,

1:25:54 here we go. Please step up to chest

1:25:57 number one.

1:26:01 Uh-oh.

1:26:02 It's guess the chest, not the abs. Not

1:26:06 All right. All right, we're moving on to

1:26:08 chest number two. Number two, no.

1:26:12 Jessica,

1:26:14 this is not part of the game. We're

1:26:15 moving on to chest number two.

1:26:18 All right, a little bit of hair on that

1:26:19 one.

1:26:21 All right.

1:26:22 All right, moving on to chest number

1:26:24 three.

1:26:28 Okay,

1:26:28 >> [laughter]

1:26:29 >> oh boy.

1:26:31 All right, all right, Jessica, come over

1:26:32 here. I want you to turn, face the

1:26:34 crowd. Now, you and your husband have

1:26:36 been together for 14 years. You should

1:26:38 be able to guess your husband's chest.

1:26:41 Which chest is your husband's?

1:26:44 >> It's obviously chest number one.

1:26:52 >> Uh, Jessica,

1:26:53 take your blindfold off

1:26:56 and meet your new husband.

1:27:02 >> I tell you what,

1:27:04 I want a replay of that cuz I want to

1:27:06 see that chest of Marshall Shill again.

1:27:10 There's a reason we call him the fire

1:27:12 marshal and it ain't because he does

1:27:14 anything.

1:27:16 >> Oh, and the husband has a new wife with

1:27:18 Marshall.

1:27:21 >> New spouse, yep.

1:27:26 >> And now coming in with Darian [music]

1:27:29 McDowell tonight,

1:27:32 with Mason Maxwell tonight,

1:27:35 escorting him to the plate,

1:27:37 Adam Langlois, our firefighter of the

1:27:40 night.

1:27:46 Adam is currently assigned to rescue

1:27:48 company number one and he has served

1:27:50 your community at the Manchester Fire

1:27:52 Department for 11 years.

1:27:56 Fans, help us celebrate our firefighter

1:27:59 of the night, Adam Langlois.

1:28:06 >> Adam Langlois, member of the Manchester

1:28:08 Fire Department for 11 years, is

1:28:10 currently assigned to the rescue company

1:28:12 number one.

1:28:14 He's a highly trained technical rescue

1:28:16 response unit member.

1:28:18 He is an absolute tremendous human

1:28:21 being. Shout out to Adam Langlais and

1:28:23 all our great firefighters here in

1:28:24 Manchester and across this country. And

1:28:26 let me tell you, that's about as funny

1:28:28 of a transition as we could have had.

1:28:31 >> Mason Maxwell over to his native

1:28:33 position. The first baseman Jordan

1:28:34 Brewer gets it to the F factor for out

1:28:38 number one. Trick play number four for

1:28:40 Loco Beach now trailing by a trio in the

1:28:42 category.

1:28:44 >> And that's going to become a little bit

1:28:45 more of a battle tonight than it has

1:28:47 been over the last couple of games

1:28:49 because the firefighters as it stands

1:28:51 currently have the advantage in the

1:28:52 trick plays which means they have a

1:28:53 point on the board if this gets to the

1:28:55 eighth inning and the same result holds

1:28:57 or the final full inning before the

1:28:59 final inning.

1:29:01 >> And the husband's got a new wife.

1:29:02 >> Mhm.

1:29:05 >> Line drive into left. It's a single for

1:29:07 Armando Becerra. He's two for two as the

1:29:09 donut batter. And I'm not talking two

1:29:11 for two in giving fans donuts. No, just

1:29:13 two for two with hits. He's got the K

1:29:15 and he's got Armani Henderson gleaming

1:29:17 ear to ear with whatever he was saying

1:29:19 after that single.

1:29:20 >> He was probably thinking [music] about

1:29:21 the chest of Marshall Shill as well. But

1:29:23 Armando Becerra just continues to keep

1:29:25 raking here as of late. He's got a 5.4

1:29:28 strikeout rate. I don't think he wants

1:29:30 that donut given out to anybody as Tyner

1:29:33 Hughes looks at ball one.

1:29:37 Tiny takes a called strike.

1:29:39 >> Take him a pitch right there right

1:29:41 directly on the knees.

1:29:43 >> Atherton's really good at serving up

1:29:44 double play balls. Would love some

1:29:46 grounding contact here.

1:29:50 Not going to find it on a pitch low and

1:29:52 away.

1:29:54 Hughes over one with a fly out that came

1:29:55 back in the second inning.

1:29:57 >> [music]

1:30:05 >> Count moves 3-1.

1:30:09 Edwards got to [music] find the zone

1:30:10 here. Mondo can move.

1:30:13 Zera holds it first. It's a line drive.

1:30:15 JD Ursos GOT IT ON THE CORNER. His throw

1:30:17 to first is just not in time. What a

1:30:19 play from JD Urso. Putting together a

1:30:22 picture-perfect game.

1:30:25 Webb gem on the corner. Two for [music]

1:30:26 two with the stick and he nearly just

1:30:28 turned two.

1:30:29 >> I think the Firefighters have to leave

1:30:31 the Banana Ball Championship League.

1:30:34 At the amount of line drives hit

1:30:35 directly at fielders that have just been

1:30:38 jumped and caught.

1:30:40 >> Gideon Antle, long race. Can he get

1:30:42 underneath it and ball ground? Oh, just

1:30:44 can't make the catch and he runs right

1:30:46 into the wall in our blind spot. Good to

1:30:48 see him pop right back up.

1:30:50 >> Yeah, he slid legs first right in there

1:30:52 so protected himself just a hair.

1:30:55 It's a gutsy slide

1:30:57 for a gutsy player in right field who we

1:30:58 have seen potentially save a point in

1:31:01 this game in right field.

1:31:05 >> I would go as far as to say you could

1:31:07 remove the word potentially.

1:31:09 Antle has had a big impact on this being

1:31:11 a nothing-nothing game with a single

1:31:13 play. That one chin music for Dakota

1:31:15 McFadden.

1:31:16 >> [music]

1:31:21 >> It's a pretty good Instagram handle for

1:31:23 him. Describes him well. DMac 24 [music]

1:31:26 ball player. All true things.

1:31:29 >> He loves ball. Just that simple. [music]

1:31:32 The dude

1:31:34 The one thing you will never lack from

1:31:36 DMac is aggression and passion,

1:31:39 especially for banana ball.

1:31:41 >> 1-2.

1:31:42 Looped into the sky. Gideon Antle

1:31:44 shuffles to his left, the viewer's

1:31:46 right. He tips it up and Peyton Shokunbi

1:31:49 closes out a double trick play in a big

1:31:51 one.

1:31:56 >> It leaves another runner stranded for

1:31:58 the Firefighters. It's now five

1:32:01 against the Firefighters tonight. Those

1:32:02 are going to become big if you keep

1:32:04 leaving runners on base.

1:32:06 Beautifully done. The Coconut's middle

1:32:09 infielder runs all the way out into

1:32:11 right.

1:32:12 Secures it and CJ Williams in the

1:32:14 bullpen for good measure holds up the

1:32:16 out sign. Eric Goolsby still encouraging

1:32:18 his teammates even with the injury.

1:32:20 He'll get Will Ethridge has now gone

1:32:22 five innings where he hasn't surrendered

1:32:24 a point. Let's see if his offense can

1:32:26 give him some support, but we'll talk

1:32:28 with a pitcher who threw the opener in

1:32:30 this series, Drake Fathauer.

1:32:32 >> Yeah, there's two things you may not

1:32:34 know. One, Manchester, New Hampshire

1:32:36 claims to have invented the chicken

1:32:37 tender. And two, just about every series

1:32:39 we go to, Drake Fathauer is up in the

1:32:42 stands supporting local and getting some

1:32:44 mid-game snacks. How did this all start?

1:32:46 >> What's up?

1:32:47 >> How did this start? Just going up in the

1:32:48 crowd and getting food.

1:32:50 >> Uh I think I was in Tallahassee and just

1:32:51 got hungry.

1:32:52 >> Hey Michael, can you ask him how he's 0

1:32:54 for 1 today?

1:32:55 At what? Say that again. I'm going to

1:32:57 pass this out to Joe Felimino. Here

1:32:58 guys, take. Say that again, AJ.

1:33:00 >> The the screen the screen at home

1:33:02 >> I went up there. I wanted a snack. I

1:33:04 signed some autographs. I was done

1:33:05 pitching. Signed some autographs. Came

1:33:07 back down. I had a snack and a game.

1:33:08 >> Drake told me he hasn't swung a bat in

1:33:09 years, but the screen just said he's 0

1:33:11 for 1 with a groundout today. Drake, are

1:33:13 you 0 for 1 with a groundout today?

1:33:16 >> No, I don't hit.

1:33:18 >> Okay, good good good. I think Drake told

1:33:19 touching by.

1:33:20 >> AJ's confused.

1:33:22 >> AJ, I haven't swung a bat in a decade.

1:33:24 >> [laughter]

1:33:24 >> What are YOU TALKING ABOUT?

1:33:28 >> DO YOU NEED some of this, AJ?

1:33:29 >> I think I need a chicken tender

1:33:31 >> to calm down. All right, fry.

1:33:34 Guys, take. Loco Beach.

1:33:39 >> Oh, that's so good.

1:33:42 PAYTON SHANZ YE STARTS OFF THE BOTTOM OF

1:33:44 THE FIFTH with a single, slicing between

1:33:47 Lacy and Green. Drake Fathauer, the ace

1:33:50 for the Coconuts, obviously not 0 for 1

1:33:53 today. I'd say he's 1 for 1 cuz that was

1:33:55 a fun interview and he's getting food

1:33:56 out of it.

1:33:57 >> Chicken tenders, man.

1:33:59 How about them?

1:34:02 That's all I got to say, man. Chicken

1:34:03 tenders.

1:34:05 >> Big inning here for Donny trying to

1:34:06 protect something here for the

1:34:07 Firefighters, especially with the trick

1:34:09 plays. Just induced a ground ball. He

1:34:11 can do it again here with the potential

1:34:12 double play.

1:34:17 Grady Morgan

1:34:19 went yard last night. This one is going

1:34:20 to stay in the ballpark plenty. It's

1:34:22 another try for Trimble. Becerra comes

1:34:24 over. Do we have a double trick PLAY?

1:34:26 NO, JUST A PHENOMENAL SINGLE ONE. Good

1:34:29 ground coverage from Becerra. The inning

1:34:31 winning run moves to second in the form

1:34:33 of Peyton Shotton Y.

1:34:35 But the trick play advantage back up to

1:34:37 two for the Fighters.

1:34:47 >> [music]

1:34:50 >> Got a moment being set up right now at

1:34:51 home plate.

1:34:53 What you know about the Backyard

1:34:57 I know they're Castaways.

1:35:00 >> [music]

1:35:09 [music]

1:35:14 [music]

1:35:27 >> The Loco Beach Bums is what that

1:35:30 quadruplet [music] calls themselves.

1:35:33 It's an introduction for Ben Pumps

1:35:34 Parker, not that he needs one. Those

1:35:36 arms speak for themselves. One for two,

1:35:38 that single he had in the third would

1:35:40 win the inning here for the Coconuts.

1:35:42 His buddy Peyton Shotton Y back on

1:35:44 second after tagging up on the trick

1:35:46 play.

1:35:47 One away. Parker swings at the first

1:35:49 pitch to him. It's right back to the

1:35:50 Firefighters dugout. And remember,

1:35:52 that's a rule with those tip drills. As

1:35:54 soon as it touches the glove, you can

1:35:56 tag up.

1:36:00 >> [music]

1:36:02 >> Oh, one misses up and out.

1:36:05 Donny's gotten the Firefighters out of a

1:36:06 bases loaded jam with one out. He's

1:36:09 going to have to find it again here with

1:36:10 a runner in scoring position.

1:36:12 Parker near identical foul contact. He's

1:36:14 got to straighten out that swing but has

1:36:16 no more strikes to play with.

1:36:24 Officially 5:00 in Guam again. Raise

1:36:26 your glasses at home.

1:36:28 Parker raised the ball deepest part of

1:36:31 the yard left center field. It's down

1:36:34 and off the wall. It's a walk-off for

1:36:36 Ben Parker. PEYTON SHOTTON YEA'S IN to

1:36:38 score and the Coconut strike first.

1:36:42 It's a one-nothing ballgame in the

1:36:44 rubber match from Delta Dental Stadium.

1:36:47 BEN PARKER WALKS OFF THE BIT

1:36:50 PLATING SHOTTON YEA and it's celebration

1:36:53 [music] time.

1:37:19 >> A little bit of you and me makes your

1:37:21 day.

1:37:22 >> Don't think that's how that goes but Ben

1:37:23 Parker

1:37:25 just sits and watches it go onto the

1:37:27 warning track. One hopping into the

1:37:29 Hyundai sign. They call that part of the

1:37:30 ballpark a graveyard. Well, it's where

1:37:33 Firefighters dream just went to die for

1:37:35 the moment being.

1:37:36 It's a walk-off that gives the Coconuts

1:37:38 the lead and gives us an opportunity to

1:37:40 talk to one of my best friends in this

1:37:42 whole wide world. We've got a mic on Ash

1:37:44 Bining behind home plate. Ash Bining,

1:37:46 how's it?

1:37:47 >> Man, it's good and YouTube chat on back,

1:37:50 baby. You already know it's family,

1:37:52 baby. Come ask me w. AJ's one of my best

1:37:55 guys, man. Good friend of mine. I'm so

1:37:57 glad to be in the booth with you and

1:37:58 Zach.

1:37:59 >> Hey, you got it right this time. It's

1:38:01 not Brad, it is Zach. Done some

1:38:03 research, Ashby. The hair is shining as

1:38:05 always. YouTube chat saying hi as well.

1:38:08 Ashby, from your perspective behind the

1:38:10 plate, I mean, how dominant has this

1:38:12 five innings of Will efforts been?

1:38:14 >> Yeah, it's been unbelievable and what I

1:38:16 want to say is this is the first time

1:38:17 I've caught Will in probably

1:38:20 three months. So, just getting on the

1:38:22 same page with everything could, you

1:38:23 know, it's kind of tough. But man, I

1:38:24 talk in between innings and we've been

1:38:26 we've been doing all and out, but the

1:38:28 way these trick plays look and stuff,

1:38:30 it's going to be tight. So, we got to

1:38:31 continue to work ahead and stay ahead. I

1:38:32 told him his day's not done. A lot of

1:38:34 pitchers want to get complacent. You

1:38:35 look at the board and say, "That was a

1:38:36 good one." I said, "Yeah, but your day's

1:38:38 not done. You're far from over."

1:38:39 >> His day's far from done.

1:38:42 Lineup turns over for a third time.

1:38:44 Oh, that's a nice glove pop. Ashby, I

1:38:46 miss having you on the mic and it's only

1:38:48 been a week.

1:38:48 >> I know.

1:38:49 Yeah, my cell phone is my favorite. I

1:38:51 love you and

1:38:52 one of them just said, "Boy."

1:38:54 >> Ashby, I want to take you back to the

1:38:55 second inning. Uh how massive was that

1:38:57 throw from Gideon Antle?

1:38:58 >> Huge. And and the challenge there is

1:39:00 questionable, you know? Already had a

1:39:01 run on the board and what I think huge

1:39:04 is that's a big challenge taken away.

1:39:06 >> Ashby, I hate to be the bearer of bad

1:39:08 news. They gave them BACK A

1:39:09 >> IT BACK, BABY.

1:39:11 >> DON'T YELL IN MY CATCHER'S EARS.

1:39:13 >> SORRY, that was kind of a

1:39:16 I'm sorry. I apologize.

1:39:17 >> [laughter]

1:39:17 >> distracted. No, we did get it back

1:39:19 because there were some technical issues

1:39:21 over uh in the other dugouts cuz the

1:39:23 monitor wasn't working.

1:39:24 >> Oh, so we're back, baby. That's what I'm

1:39:25 talking about.

1:39:27 >> 3-1

1:39:27 >> Where is it? I can't see it.

1:39:28 >> Popped up at that short, you're good.

1:39:29 >> We need a good pop here. AJ, great call

1:39:31 on you, AJ.

1:39:32 >> OH, YEAH. DOUBLE TRICK PLAY IN A BEAUTY.

1:39:35 SHOT TONY AND Jacobo

1:39:37 do a boogie to boot. Ashby as well.

1:39:39 Trick plays even back up at eight. How

1:39:41 important is that equalizer point,

1:39:43 Ashby?

1:39:43 >> Huge. We got to go, man. And one run

1:39:44 comfort's not enough, man. As As we've

1:39:46 talked about, these ninth innings

1:39:48 between these two teams is unreal.

1:39:49 >> Unreal. The two teams have combined for

1:39:52 23 ninth-inning points against one

1:39:54 another.

1:39:55 The most of any match-up in the Banana

1:39:57 Ball Championship League.

1:39:58 >> Good call. You're right on that. Good.

1:40:00 >> Ashby, what's your relationship like

1:40:01 with Kelly Donahue

1:40:02 >> Oh, me me and Kelly get along better

1:40:04 than any of them. I mean, she's been

1:40:05 absolutely incredible today. And I'm

1:40:07 going to be completely honest, and I'm

1:40:08 not even being biased. I I have her

1:40:10 shooting 100% right now. I really don't

1:40:12 think she's missed one on us.

1:40:14 >> That's phenomenal. And it's got to be

1:40:15 really nice for a pitcher's confidence,

1:40:17 a catcher's confidence, when you feel

1:40:18 like you've got a good feel for the

1:40:19 zone. She's called a clean game.

1:40:21 >> Yeah. And it will here. He's working

1:40:22 quick, man. You don't see this much out

1:40:23 of him, but here we go, baby.

1:40:27 >> All right, Ashby, we got to do one chat

1:40:30 question. Wiffle VR 12 is has asked

1:40:34 about 10 times for us to ask how you get

1:40:36 your hair looking so nice.

1:40:37 >> Yep. So, for those of you who know, MY

1:40:39 WIFE DOES HAIR. MAN, she's a beauty. I

1:40:41 miss her a lot, but we do some purple

1:40:43 shampoo, brush it out straight. But

1:40:46 that's the hair hair care routine.

1:40:48 Pantene, if you're watching, reach out,

1:40:49 baby.

1:40:50 >> Pantene, there you go. Hey, how about

1:40:52 another scoreless inning? Oh, yeah,

1:40:55 Ashby. Let that hair work. Ashby

1:40:57 Winningham a dangerous duo. You got a

1:40:59 message to leave the chat with?

1:41:00 >> Yeah, I got a message. We love you. Hang

1:41:02 loose, let loose, go loco. And once

1:41:03 again, Ashby Winningham signing off.

1:41:04 YouTube chat, you're the best.

1:41:06 >> Oh, man. Ashby Winningham is a national

1:41:08 treasure. If he wasn't so good on the

1:41:10 microphone, I'd lock him in a bank safe

1:41:12 because we need as much of that guy as

1:41:14 we can possibly get. The face of the

1:41:16 beach continuing to put on a show both

1:41:18 behind the plate, at the dish, and with

1:41:21 the microphone. And speaking of putting

1:41:22 on a show, these hits, they talk for

1:41:24 themselves. The Coconuts have four of

1:41:26 the top eight league leaders in hits.

1:41:28 Tanner Allen pacing them all, but Gabe

1:41:30 Green has cracked into this picture as

1:41:32 well for the Fighters.

1:41:33 >> Yes, he has. 42 hits this year. He is

1:41:36 one away from tying the most that has

1:41:37 ever been recorded in a Firefighter

1:41:38 season. That was last year with Dalton

1:41:40 [music] Cornett, 43.

1:41:42 Along with Logan Lacey.

1:41:44 That's why this guy has been so improved

1:41:46 is because of the consistency with the

1:41:48 bat. Tonight he's got a ball four sprint

1:41:50 and he's hit the ball really deep at

1:41:51 certain points tonight, but you can't

1:41:53 deny. Look at what the Loco Beach

1:41:55 Coconuts are doing along with those

1:41:56 Texas Tailgaters.

1:41:58 >> Zack, can we take a moment to appreciate

1:42:00 how special it is that here in Banana

1:42:01 Ball we just had two catchers miked up

1:42:03 in the same game and how much insight we

1:42:05 just gained from both of them? I I mean

1:42:08 Eric Jones Jr., Ashby Vining miked up in

1:42:10 the same game behind the plate. I

1:42:12 learned so much and I really liked

1:42:14 Ashby's praise for Kelly Dine as well.

1:42:15 She's called a great game.

1:42:19 >> Jared Donaldson back out on the mound

1:42:21 >> [music]

1:42:21 >> to go for his sixth inning. He has been

1:42:24 really eating up innings as Tanner

1:42:26 Allen playing some games with him.

1:42:27 Donnie

1:42:28 stepping right up to it.

1:42:30 >> Other thing that jumped out to me on

1:42:31 that hit graphic, I mean those were

1:42:33 almost all rookies. Yep, the influx of

1:42:35 talent that just flocked to the Banana

1:42:37 Ball Championship League ahead of 2026

1:42:39 has been on full display. Tanner Allen

1:42:41 one of them. He's the league's leader.

1:42:42 Fastest player ever to 50 hits in Banana

1:42:45 Ball, not just the Championship League

1:42:46 in the sport. Only took him 30 games.

1:42:49 Can he add another here?

1:42:50 It's in the right field. Leaping grab

1:42:53 from Darian McDowell for out one in the

1:42:54 bottom of the sixth.

1:42:56 >> Yeah, I think Darian at first lifted

1:42:57 that leg up like, "Hey, I got a trick

1:42:59 play in me." And then at the last second

1:43:00 he's like, "What in the world am I

1:43:01 doing?" Just gets the out. That's a nice

1:43:03 snag from Darian McDowell.

1:43:05 And one away as Dane Toplin steps on in.

1:43:08 What is Donnie saying to old TA down

1:43:10 that line?

1:43:11 >> Friendly banter.

1:43:13 Tanner Allen's never one to take it

1:43:15 personally. He's a hyper competitor. So,

1:43:16 you know, if you could give it, you can

1:43:17 also take it. Those are the best kind of

1:43:19 players in in my humble opinion. They're

1:43:21 the ones who are never going to be

1:43:22 offended by something said between the

1:43:24 lines.

1:43:25 >> And those two have A VERY GOOD

1:43:26 RELATIONSHIP. BACKWARDS, K! DONNIE

1:43:29 PAINTS THE OUTSIDE PART OF THE BLACK.

1:43:33 >> Zane Toflin unhappy with the call, but

1:43:35 [music] he has to head back to the

1:43:36 dugout empty-handed. It's the third

1:43:38 strike out of Jared Donaldson's day.

1:43:41 Got that lower outside corner.

1:43:44 Brings up Jordan Brewer, bases empty.

1:43:46 Homer would walk off the inning.

1:43:48 The team's leader with six of them.

1:43:51 Goes to THE HOT CORNER, SHOWTIME'S GOT

1:43:52 IT.

1:43:53 WHIPS IT ACROSS THE INFIELD. OH, A

1:43:55 COLLISION AT FIRST BASE. Mason Maxwell

1:43:58 with a hard tag on Jordan Brewer.

1:44:01 And he's immediately down on the dirt.

1:44:03 >> Oh, that's just not what you want to

1:44:05 see.

1:44:05 >> It wasn't a hard tag. He was trying to

1:44:07 get the ball. It goes in there and then

1:44:09 they just collide.

1:44:11 Oh my goodness.

1:44:13 >> That is one of the premier first base

1:44:15 talents in this sport right now down on

1:44:18 the dirt.

1:44:20 The clock stops and so does my heart for

1:44:22 the time being. That is a really scary

1:44:24 collision of lower halves.

1:44:25 >> It's knee-to-knee contact and Mason

1:44:27 comes away seemingly unscathed, but

1:44:30 Jordan Brewer stayed down.

1:44:33 Oh my goodness. And again, a

1:44:35 Mason's not trying to make that a

1:44:36 difficult play. That's great.

1:44:38 >> them hug.

1:44:38 >> That's awesome.

1:44:39 >> That you knew for a fact, obviously, it

1:44:41 goes without saying, Mason Maxwell was

1:44:43 not trying to make contact with Jordan

1:44:45 Brewer there. It's just where the throw

1:44:47 took him.

1:44:48 And when two high-class, just big mass

1:44:51 athletes collide like that, it's always

1:44:53 scary.

1:44:54 Brute force on brute force.

1:44:56 But that's it for the sixth inning.

1:44:59 When it's all said and done on an

1:45:01 absolute web gem from Logan Lacey, which

1:45:03 we've grown to expect. The Firefighters

1:45:05 third baseman got the nickname Showtime,

1:45:07 and it's for good reason.

1:45:09 >> Yeah, we

1:45:10 You just saw it there. That that's why

1:45:12 he's Showtime. He can pull out highlight

1:45:14 plays like that.

1:45:16 That's quite an effective usage there

1:45:19 >> [cheering]

1:45:20 >> from Logan Lacey

1:45:22 as Will Ethridge comes back out for a

1:45:23 seventh inning of work.

1:45:25 >> Good to see Jordan Brewer stay in there

1:45:26 defensively because he has been a part

1:45:28 of what has been a sharp day for both

1:45:31 sides on defense.

1:45:33 Brewer

1:45:34 >> [cheering]

1:45:34 >> now over 70 trick plays on the year as

1:45:37 of tonight.

1:45:38 But it's not just trick plays. It's

1:45:40 diving efforts. That was the first

1:45:41 Bananas ball in play and it really set

1:45:43 the tone. Both defenses have come to

1:45:45 play. Getting an Antle laser beam from

1:45:47 right outfielders, infielders, catchers,

1:45:50 everyone in on the action in what has

1:45:52 been a defensive masterclass.

1:45:53 >> And we talk about the trick plays all

1:45:55 the time in Banana Ball for a reason,

1:45:56 but these defensive plays have saved

1:45:59 points. South Trimble's dive in the

1:46:01 first inning.

1:46:02 That play there from Gidean Antle you

1:46:04 just saw. Logan Lacey what he just did

1:46:05 potentially saved a point. And Jared

1:46:07 Donaldson by the way has just logged in

1:46:09 in a minute and 25 second inning. To go

1:46:13 one of the faster ones here tonight in

1:46:15 the Firefighters season.

1:46:16 >> I love this decision. Coach Crocco,

1:46:18 pitching coach Andy Morales extending

1:46:20 Will Ethridge for what is now the

1:46:21 longest outing of his Banana Ball

1:46:23 career.

1:46:24 The X Factor, a 6-5 righty, is back on

1:46:28 the hill for the seventh inning and he's

1:46:29 got a first pitch strike. He's only 75

1:46:31 pitches into this game.

1:46:33 Baby Boo's been dominant. Make it 0-2

1:46:35 against Lamar Sparks.

1:46:38 >> This is where the equalizer point

1:46:39 becomes so effective for the

1:46:40 Firefighters.

1:46:42 You've got to find a way to get those

1:46:43 more trick plays and go

1:46:44 >> Oh, here's a trick play. Trick pitch,

1:46:46 Will Ethridge misses just outside.

1:46:47 Sorry, that got me excited. Ethridge has

1:46:49 just the one trick play on the year.

1:46:51 >> I can understand getting the yield sign

1:46:52 on that one.

1:46:54 >> Back to a normal pitch, 1-2. Hit over to

1:46:57 third. JD Urso between the legs. His

1:46:59 throw to Brewer's on the money. With a

1:47:01 little stretch, there's one down in the

1:47:02 top of the seventh. And the Bananas now

1:47:05 have the trick play advantage 9-8 in

1:47:07 this game. That is so pivotal in a game

1:47:09 that's currently 1-0.

1:47:10 >> Yep, it is massive, especially because

1:47:12 the Firefighters have gotten runners on

1:47:14 base, but they haven't brought anybody

1:47:15 home since the second inning. This

1:47:17 becomes even more critical here the

1:47:18 [music] defensive side of things as EJ

1:47:20 looks at strike one. Man, Will Ethridge,

1:47:23 have yourself a night.

1:47:26 The first pitch strike rate has been a

1:47:27 leak. And it's right back over to Urso.

1:47:30 He's got another trick play in him.

1:47:31 Behind the back across the infield.

1:47:33 Back-to-back 5-3 putouts. [music]

1:47:35 Back-to-back JD Urso trick plays. Now a

1:47:37 10-8 advantage for the Nots. And Will

1:47:39 Ethridge is dealing.

1:47:43 The Firefighters got to find their

1:47:44 offense here fast because the trick

1:47:46 plays are starting to rally here for the

1:47:48 Loco Beach Coconut. They got to get some

1:47:49 balls lifted in the air.

1:47:54 Will Ethridge is an out away from having

1:47:56 the lowest earned run average on the

1:47:57 Coconut staff. That's how good of a day

1:47:59 it's been for the Coconut starter. Just

1:48:01 one run, no points to his docket.

1:48:04 >> [music]

1:48:05 >> The 0-1.

1:48:07 JD Urso makes all three outs

1:48:10 in the seventh inning. It's a throw

1:48:12 across the diamond cuz he didn't have it

1:48:14 on the line, but he stuck with the play.

1:48:16 Brewer clamps it and it's 3-5-3 outs in

1:48:19 a minute and 50 seconds. Will Ethridge

1:48:22 goes seven innings without allowing a

1:48:24 point. And we go down to the field for a

1:48:26 pillow fight.

1:48:30 >> Fans, sorry to interrupt the game, but

1:48:33 we need help of security. It's been

1:48:36 called to our attention that there is a

1:48:38 fight that has broken out in left field.

1:48:40 Please turn your views to the footage

1:48:42 that we have of it happening right now

1:48:44 on the video screen.

1:48:47 >> What's happening?

1:48:50 That's the hooligan.

1:48:51 >> What what what's happening? Peter Colada

1:48:53 in the hotel in left field. Why is he

1:48:56 Why is he shirtless?

1:48:57 >> They're having a pillow

1:48:58 fight.

1:49:00 >> Oh my gosh. This is

1:49:01 >> Oh my gosh.

1:49:01 >> insane.

1:49:02 >> What I'd do to be a fly on a wall in

1:49:03 that room.

1:49:05 >> Why do you want to be a fly?

1:49:08 >> I just think it would be a good vantage

1:49:10 point to see that from up top.

1:49:11 >> can see it from here perfectly. And

1:49:13 those guys Someone's getting their face

1:49:14 shoved against the wall.

1:49:16 >> Oh my gosh, Colada got him against the

1:49:18 wall.

1:49:19 >> Peter Collado doing back there? I don't

1:49:20 know. His eyes are bugging out.

1:49:23 >> And those hooligans, they're just always

1:49:24 the craziest people at the park, even

1:49:26 when they're not technically at the

1:49:27 park. Look at this. They're stealing the

1:49:29 show from their hotel room at the Hilton

1:49:32 Garden Inn.

1:49:34 >> Yeah, I'm going to be honest with you. I

1:49:36 I don't entirely Now someone's butt is

1:49:39 shoved up against the wall. Yep, we're

1:49:40 just

1:49:42 Things have happened.

1:49:44 >> By the way, that last out was another

1:49:45 trick play for JD Erso. That is now 11

1:49:48 for the Coconuts in a game that the

1:49:49 Firefighters had the lead for a pretty

1:49:52 good amount of it.

1:49:53 >> It's evaporated.

1:49:55 Antle can double the Coconuts lead here.

1:49:58 >> Any run would make it a

1:49:59 two-point-to-nothing game in favor of

1:50:00 the Beach.

1:50:02 >> You can see Donny's starting to try to

1:50:04 pitch inside a little bit, maybe get

1:50:05 some jam shots. Light contact [music] on

1:50:08 the ground could help.

1:50:10 >> Antle stares at a strike.

1:50:12 >> Really good frame job from Eric Jones

1:50:14 Jr. to steal that one.

1:50:19 >> No frame job needed there. Antle wanted

1:50:21 one that fell off the table top.

1:50:22 Frustrated with himself, but he's

1:50:24 immediately locked back in. Look at the

1:50:26 discipline.

1:50:28 Sheer force from Antle. He wants it.

1:50:32 >> I feel like that pillow fight is what my

1:50:33 upstairs neighbors back in Savannah are

1:50:35 doing every night. At least that's what

1:50:37 it sounds like. Big pause from Donny

1:50:38 mid-motion. It's right back over to

1:50:40 Lacy. A rare fumble, it gets the peanut.

1:50:43 But Gideon's safe.

1:50:45 >> It's an error on Logan Lacy, a rarity.

1:50:48 Showtime gobbled up by a roller, and the

1:50:51 inning-winning run's on base with Ashby

1:50:53 Vining stepping up.

1:50:54 >> Yeah, you just do not see this out of

1:50:56 Logan Lacy. That one

1:50:58 bounced right to Peanut. If it'd have

1:50:59 gone a little bit quicker, maybe a

1:51:00 chance for a trick play. But that

1:51:01 [music] is just the third error on Logan

1:51:03 Lacy all year.

1:51:05 >> Also, uh we've given Will Attridge his

1:51:07 flowers, [music] rightfully so. How

1:51:08 about Jared Donaldson? Both pitchers

1:51:09 into the seventh inning.

1:51:11 >> Vining's slashed foul. That thing's a

1:51:14 screamer onto the concourse.

1:51:16 >> And this might be a 1-1 game in favor of

1:51:18 Donny if the Firefighters don't miss a

1:51:20 trick play in the second inning. It's

1:51:22 those things that can really turn the

1:51:23 game.

1:51:24 >> Vining right back to Showtime. It's

1:51:25 underneath his glove.

1:51:27 Logan Lacey, a tall task, but he

1:51:29 couldn't grab it. And now the

1:51:30 inning-winning runs on second with a

1:51:32 timely knock from the face of the beach.

1:51:36 Vining's being replaced on the bases by

1:51:38 Armani Henderson.

1:51:40 No, Vining said no.

1:51:42 Henderson wants to get on the bases.

1:51:44 Vining says, "I'm going to keep myself

1:51:45 out there." He's calling his own number.

1:51:46 >> Well, part of it is that his run doesn't

1:51:48 matter at this point.

1:51:50 >> Right.

1:51:51 And that's what Vining's communicating.

1:51:52 You know, only his first full-time

1:51:54 [music] year as a Banana Baller, but

1:51:55 already such a veteran approach. You

1:51:57 want to save that designated runner for

1:51:58 when it means more.

1:52:01 Vining such a heady player, always

1:52:02 thinking through all the outcomes. As

1:52:04 his JD Urso, one of the great baseball

1:52:06 minds I've ever been around. Grew up, of

1:52:08 course, the same family as his father,

1:52:10 Joe Urso.

1:52:13 That doesn't hurt.

1:52:14 The greatest Division II coaches in

1:52:16 history, if not the greatest, after

1:52:18 securing the first ever three-peat this

1:52:19 year.

1:52:24 Urso adamant that his approach does not

1:52:26 change with two strikes. He's up there

1:52:27 swinging no matter what.

1:52:30 It's a two-for-two day with a pair of

1:52:32 singles.

1:52:34 JD Urso unloads in the left. It's down

1:52:36 in front of South Trimble.

1:52:38 Bases are loaded. Now a three-for-three,

1:52:42 JD Urso is having himself a day. He had

1:52:44 three trick plays in the top of the

1:52:45 seventh alone.

1:52:48 >> This has been

1:52:50 >> [music]

1:52:50 >> not necessarily the coming out party for

1:52:52 JD Urso over the last couple days, but

1:52:54 really it's just been a validation as to

1:52:55 why Mark Caraco took him off the

1:52:57 visitors as the Firefighters infield

1:52:59 plays in really deep. A strikeout here

1:53:01 would be would prove to be massive.

1:53:06 We've seen Donny get out of bases loaded

1:53:08 jams before.

1:53:09 >> [music]

1:53:11 >> Brett Carson, in his first year of

1:53:13 Division III baseball, was a two-sport

1:53:15 athlete. He said he's just about as

1:53:17 excited for the World Cup as anybody,

1:53:18 because he played Division III soccer.

1:53:21 Striker in his days.

1:53:23 And he strikes on this one. Brett Carson

1:53:26 in the right field.

1:53:27 >> [music]

1:53:27 >> McDowell brings it in. The race to the

1:53:29 plate IS WON BY GIDEON ANTLE AND THE

1:53:32 COCONUTS, AS IS THE SEVENTH INNING.

1:53:35 IT'S A WALK-OFF SACK FLY [music]

1:53:37 from dual-threat Brett, and we've got a

1:53:39 two-nothing ballgame in favor of the

1:53:41 hometown Loco [music] Beach Coconuts.

1:53:44 Let's have Grady and Danae celebrate.

1:53:59 It's a crab rave.

1:54:02 So many reasons to celebrate here

1:54:04 [music] at Loco Beach. Trick Play

1:54:06 Advantage 11 to 8. The score

1:54:08 two-nothing. And before we go to the top

1:54:10 of the eighth inning, our very own

1:54:11 Michael Schwartz has the man who has as

1:54:13 many reasons to celebrate as anybody.

1:54:15 It's the skipper, Mark Rocco.

1:54:17 >> I love talking to this guy. Hey, real

1:54:18 quick, on a serious note, how is Brewer

1:54:20 doing? He stayed out there to play the

1:54:21 field after that collision.

1:54:22 >> Yeah, you know, he's he's a tough kid,

1:54:24 and he's always been the guy we can rely

1:54:26 on. And

1:54:27 he's in a great place. I think the other

1:54:29 guys are leaning in. And I just love

1:54:31 Manchester tonight. They're seeing

1:54:33 banana ball, and it's fast. And this is

1:54:35 where our league's at. It's such a great

1:54:37 product, and Jordan's a tremendous

1:54:39 example [cheering] of that.

1:54:41 >> Real quick, any insight for our fans

1:54:42 watching at home about the rest of the

1:54:44 pitching rotation for the night?

1:54:45 >> Yeah, CJ Williams will be next, and

1:54:48 it's a great game, great team over there

1:54:50 on both sides, and we're going to treat

1:54:52 it like it's our last game of the year.

1:54:53 >> All right, it's coming down to the wire,

1:54:55 guys. AJ Zack, back to you.

1:54:56 >> Treating it like it's the last game of

1:54:58 the year. Well, that's when you bring

1:55:00 out the villain. Unleash number zero an

1:55:03 inning early again for the second time

1:55:06 this series. C.J. Williams is going to

1:55:08 be asked to go two innings. His ERA

1:55:10 dipped below three again after his

1:55:12 outing against the Firefighters on night

1:55:14 one went to perfection. Williams, a

1:55:16 perfect

1:55:19 Well, not perfect. I mean, close to

1:55:20 perfect. Nine for 11 on his save

1:55:22 opportunities this season. But, the

1:55:24 villain, and I had a good conversation

1:55:26 before the game today. He said, you

1:55:27 know, I've noticed as I've gotten more

1:55:28 comfortable in this league, I've kind of

1:55:30 dialed back on the trash talking and

1:55:32 move more to eye contact cuz I know I'm

1:55:34 good enough. I know I am that guy who

1:55:37 should be striking out the side. Who

1:55:38 should be getting these outs. There's no

1:55:39 reason to remind them what I already

1:55:42 know. I'm C.J. Williams. I'm a villain

1:55:45 and I'm here for the eighth and ninth

1:55:46 innings of game three in a big-time

1:55:48 spot. Brett Carson walked off the last

1:55:51 inning and scored Gideon Antle and has a

1:55:53 two-point cushion for C.J. Williams and

1:55:56 his defense. Williams and Urso were

1:55:58 teammates at Tampa, national champions

1:56:00 together at Tampa.

1:56:03 Caden Bowlers on a surfboard

1:56:06 out in left field.

1:56:08 But, all eyes close in on the villain.

1:56:11 C.J. Williams

1:56:13 the meanest closer in banana ball.

1:56:17 We'll deal with seven, eight, and nine

1:56:18 here in the order in the eighth that

1:56:20 starts with Mad Max.

1:56:24 And a first pitch strike. C.J. Williams

1:56:27 has a plus-plus changeup.

1:56:30 That plays so well off the fastball and

1:56:32 he gets spin it by you as well.

1:56:34 One of the premier arms in this sport.

1:56:36 He's a long strike battled off and

1:56:38 Maxwell's down 0-2.

1:56:41 Really funny dichotomy between C.J.

1:56:43 Williams on the mound and Ashby Vining

1:56:45 behind the plate.

1:56:49 And don't get me wrong. C.J. Williams is

1:56:50 an amazing human being.

1:56:53 Anytime he's off the baseball field, he

1:56:55 is an amazing guy. But, you want to talk

1:56:57 about on the baseball field, two very

1:56:59 different vibes. It's CJ Williams and

1:57:01 Ashby Vining. For a minute up here

1:57:03 trying to close out the win.

1:57:06 We are nearing

1:57:08 the potential of the turn back to the

1:57:10 top of the order. Val Perez is going to

1:57:11 use a golden at bat situation. It would

1:57:14 come in the next two or three batters.

1:57:21 Oh, Maxwell just barely gets a piece to

1:57:24 battle that back.

1:57:29 >> [cheering]

1:57:33 >> Five pitches into Williams' night.

1:57:37 He needs a sixth against Mason Maxwell.

1:57:40 What's the put away pitch for CJ?

1:57:42 Goes to the heat and misses up and out.

1:57:53 Long breath from the villain. Rock in

1:57:55 [music] a fire.

1:57:56 VILLAINS ARE COOL. CJ WILLIAMS, COOL AS

1:58:01 a cucumber, colder than ice.

1:58:04 Stop me if you've heard it before. One

1:58:06 up, one down for the closer, and it

1:58:08 comes out a backwards K.

1:58:10 >> And Mason expected that one to break a

1:58:12 little bit more. It just stayed right

1:58:13 there on the table. One of the few times

1:58:15 a breaking ball doesn't move as much as

1:58:16 you think, and it actually hurts you.

1:58:20 >> Becerra, shot into the sky. This should

1:58:23 be out number two.

1:58:25 Adding to the trick play battle. MAKE IT

1:58:27 A PAIR. PEYTON SHOTWELL

1:58:29 Jordan Brewer combined for the biggest

1:58:31 double trick play of the series. Loco

1:58:34 Beach now has five more trick plays than

1:58:36 the Firefighters, and it's going to be

1:58:37 an uphill battle for the Fire and Flames

1:58:40 to find a way into this contest.

1:58:42 >> You've got to find a way for your

1:58:44 offense to go now. The defense started

1:58:46 out so well, but have not been able to

1:58:48 recover

1:58:50 after surrendering that first [music]

1:58:51 point

1:58:53 in the fifth inning. Now the Noconuts on

1:58:55 the verge of getting out of here 1-2-3

1:58:57 in the eighth. Two up, two down.

1:59:00 It's what C.J. Williams does.

1:59:04 >> [music]

1:59:04 >> If he wasn't pitching, he'd be

1:59:05 manufacturing chairs the way he loves to

1:59:08 make people take a seat back in the

1:59:09 dugout.

1:59:12 Oh boy, the elevated heat blows Tyner's

1:59:15 doors off.

1:59:18 Williams has that mean look in his eyes.

1:59:21 Wants to point him back to the dugout.

1:59:23 And he's a strike away from doing it.

1:59:25 C.J. Williams lethal on the hill.

1:59:29 >> [music]

1:59:36 >> Yeah, a huge spot for Tyner Hughes for

1:59:37 Tyner tonight. Williams has other plans.

1:59:44 Long look. A wind and fire.

1:59:48 Hughes over to third. Urso's been

1:59:49 perfect today, but no longer. It's an

1:59:51 infield single for Tyner Hughes on a

1:59:53 slow roller that Urso just can't handle.

1:59:57 There's at least a little bit of hope

1:59:59 here for the Firefighters as D-Mat comes

2:00:01 in. Tyner Hughes gets on the bases

2:00:03 tonight for the first time.

2:00:06 And it comes in a huge situation. The

2:00:08 veteran of this sport

2:00:10 he struck out to end Florida State

2:00:13 against C.J. Williams. He beat himself

2:00:16 up over that one. He's now got a chance

2:00:18 at some redemption.

2:00:21 The problem?

2:00:22 C.J. Williams is really hard to get

2:00:24 redemption against.

2:00:27 He's allowed three runs total since the

2:00:30 Banana Ball opened.

2:00:32 >> [music]

2:00:33 >> Sam Trimble has taken over at first base

2:00:34 for Tyner Hughes.

2:00:38 Williams has been the definition of

2:00:40 dominant on the mound.

2:00:45 >> [music]

2:00:45 >> And And a strike away again. After seven

2:00:49 innings of no points work from Will

2:00:52 Ethridge, C.J. Williams takes over and

2:00:55 can carry the flame.

2:00:56 >> [music]

2:00:58 >> Hit and run.

2:01:00 >> Just going to work as some exercise for

2:01:01 Trimble. He's [music] got to get back to

2:01:02 first base as that one escapes the yard.

2:01:05 Remember, because this is the end of the

2:01:07 order,

2:01:07 >> [music]

2:01:08 >> if someone else were to get on base at

2:01:09 the top of the order in the next inning,

2:01:11 South can go right back out there

2:01:12 because of the designated runner rule.

2:01:14 >> [music]

2:01:19 >> C.J. Williams [music] up and outside

2:01:21 with the fastball. McFadden knows better

2:01:22 than to go around on that.

2:01:26 17 pitches in this first inning for

2:01:28 Williams to almost certainly be back out

2:01:30 for the night.

2:01:32 Close out a scoreless eighth here.

2:01:35 Williams, the one-two.

2:01:37 STRIKE OUT! NO REVENGE, no redemption,

2:01:40 same result. Dakota McFadden, grab a

2:01:43 chair. C.J. Williams, the villain has

2:01:46 arrived.

2:01:47 Remember the name. Manchester, New

2:01:50 Hampshire familiarizing themselves with

2:01:52 one of the premier arms in banana ball.

2:01:54 The Tampa product. Posts a scoreless

2:01:57 eighth and we look at the trick plays

2:01:59 that have gotten Loco Beach a five

2:02:02 trick play advantage.

2:02:04 >> Yeah, you look at the way the

2:02:05 Firefighters started the game out. It

2:02:07 could not have been much better. Got out

2:02:09 to eight trick plays, were holding the

2:02:10 Loco Beach Coconuts down to four.

2:02:13 And then since then, it's been seven

2:02:15 straight trick plays. No, excuse me,

2:02:16 make it nine straight trick plays for

2:02:18 Loco Beach. The Firefighters

2:02:20 have not been able to get any. And those

2:02:23 now become critical in this bottom half.

2:02:25 You have got to get light contact and

2:02:27 ground outs, but you more so have to get

2:02:30 two double trick plays to get yourself

2:02:32 an opportunity, and then that fifth one

2:02:33 someplace else.

2:02:35 >> Equalizer point.

2:02:37 So viable

2:02:39 in 2026. Loco Beach has put on a

2:02:42 fielding clinic

2:02:44 this series.

2:02:45 They've got 13 trick plays to the

2:02:47 Firefighters eight. It's a great

2:02:49 reminder, however, regardless of the

2:02:50 outcome, whether you're rooting for Loco

2:02:52 Beach, you're rooting for the

2:02:52 Firefighters, you're a fan of any of the

2:02:54 six teams in this sport,

2:02:56 there's not much to worry about when

2:02:57 you're in Banana Land.

2:02:59 This is a process-oriented group on both

2:03:01 sides.

2:03:02 Just keeping the main thing the main

2:03:03 thing, and that's spreading smiles,

2:03:05 spreading joy in a world that needs more

2:03:07 of it. That's what Banana Ball does

2:03:08 better than any.

2:03:10 Regardless of the outcome here tonight,

2:03:11 I know we'll both be smiling.

2:03:13 CJ Williams, on the other hand,

2:03:16 he's only going to crack a smile if he

2:03:17 can post a scoreless ninth, but his

2:03:19 offense can give him another point of

2:03:20 cushion.

2:03:22 With three little birds reigning in, and

2:03:24 again, just smiles, laughter, and

2:03:26 happiness infection down on the field.

2:03:28 The Coconuts have a chance for another

2:03:30 walk-off.

2:03:32 What's been a shutout through eight from

2:03:34 their staff, seven innings of Will

2:03:36 Ethridge, one of CJ Williams. Speaking

2:03:38 of staffs, it's the first time the

2:03:40 Firefighters have gone into the bullpen

2:03:41 tonight, they go to the South Pole,

2:03:43 Blake Morgan.

2:03:45 >> Blake Morgan comes in. This is the lefty

2:03:48 out of Durham, North Carolina,

2:03:51 who is now tasked with trying to do a

2:03:53 couple different things. Number one,

2:03:55 get the Firefighters into the ninth

2:03:57 inning without surrendering another

2:03:58 point. Number two, induce light contact.

2:04:03 The strikeout, obviously, will help in

2:04:05 terms of getting outs. You need trick

2:04:07 plays here for that equalizer point.

2:04:10 Remember, we're in no danger of not

2:04:12 making the ninth inning. So, this

2:04:13 [music] inning is where it counts.

2:04:14 Firefighters have to get six trick plays

2:04:18 to earn that elusive equalizer point.

2:04:20 They have not earned it once this

2:04:22 weekend. You have your chance to do

2:04:24 something special now. You need it now,

2:04:27 and already, something special for the

2:04:30 Loco Beach Coconuts.

2:04:31 >> And gentlemen,

2:04:34 the Loco Beach Coconuts are invoking the

2:04:37 golden batter rule.

2:04:40 Hitting in place of Payton Shatney

2:04:44 is BEN

2:04:47 PARKER. [screaming]

2:04:52 >> THE COCONUT'S WANT TO put this game to

2:04:54 rest. They're using their golden batter

2:04:57 in the eighth inning.

2:04:59 Full confidence in CJ Williams to get it

2:05:01 done in the ninth, why not give him a

2:05:02 little extra insurance. They turn to

2:05:04 Pumps for his sixth golden batter

2:05:05 appearance of the season, Ben Parker,

2:05:07 the league's leader in on base

2:05:09 percentage, getting on 53% of the time.

2:05:12 So, playing to that metric here against

2:05:13 Bimo, who starts in the zone.

2:05:15 >> The one thing Blake Morgan's going to

2:05:16 do, he's going to work quick, and he's

2:05:18 going to work with a lot of hard stuff.

2:05:20 He's going to try to work that fastball

2:05:22 low, see if he can get some light

2:05:23 contact.

2:05:25 >> Parker walk-off double in his last time

2:05:27 up.

2:05:30 That one's launched into a different

2:05:32 area code, but drifting foul. Wow, that

2:05:34 one's still in the air. Watch it fly.

2:05:36 That is a high-flying foul ball that

2:05:38 just came back from the stratosphere.

2:05:42 >> Again, the Firefighters look, the

2:05:44 perfect situation would be to get these

2:05:46 trick plays. You need the three outs

2:05:48 before anything.

2:05:49 >> A shirtless Ben Parker

2:05:51 battles it right back towards the

2:05:52 Firefighters.

2:05:54 I think everybody's okay over there.

2:05:56 Emerson Elmgren, our

2:05:57 running our

2:05:59 >> I thought you were saying he was down

2:06:00 stairs.

2:06:00 >> They were all okay with him being

2:06:01 shirtless.

2:06:04 >> No, no, no, everybody's okay with that

2:06:06 foul ball. Look like Emerson might have

2:06:07 taken it off the hand. Hope she's all

2:06:09 right. It was her birthday weekend this

2:06:10 weekend, by the way. So, happy birthday,

2:06:11 Em Dog.

2:06:17 >> The one-two

2:06:19 Parker swings and misses, and Blake

2:06:20 Morgan

2:06:22 with a pump of the fist has one batter

2:06:24 faced and one punchy. It comes against

2:06:26 the golden batter.

2:06:27 >> So, that

2:06:28 potentially, [music]

2:06:30 not officially, but it potentially puts

2:06:31 the equalizer point to rest, but that's

2:06:33 [music] a big strikeout for Blake Morgan

2:06:35 in a big spot. The lefty comes in

2:06:37 against a golden at bat and gets him

2:06:40 swinging. It's rare you see Ben Parker

2:06:42 strike out. You can tell Blake Morgan's

2:06:44 feeling himself [music] out on the

2:06:45 mound.

2:06:47 And he's been warming up for a bit. He

2:06:49 feels awful confident right now.

2:06:55 Morgan slices it back into his own front

2:06:57 foot. And I also I don't think we've

2:07:00 seen Blake against the Coconuts [music]

2:07:01 very much this year. Maybe Little Rock

2:07:03 was the only time. Might have seen him

2:07:05 in Wichita, but that's about it.

2:07:08 Morgan

2:07:10 launched in a right center. It's in the

2:07:12 alley. STALLING UP ARMANDO BECERRA DIVES

2:07:15 AND MAKES A GRAB IN FRONT of the wall to

2:07:17 steal extra bases from G Morg.

2:07:19 Mondo again comes up with a sliding grab

2:07:22 and now the equalizer point is

2:07:23 officially put to bed for the

2:07:24 Firefighters, but that just saved a

2:07:26 potential extra base hit and maybe

2:07:28 another point. That's why you draft

2:07:30 Armando Becerra. That's why you want him

2:07:31 in the firehouse because there he

2:07:33 doesn't panic. He does what he's got to

2:07:35 do. Big time out for Mondo.

2:07:38 Now you got to deal with Ben Parker

2:07:39 again. Hard enough to get him out once.

2:07:41 If he can do it twice, that's special

2:07:43 territory, especially in the same

2:07:45 inning.

2:07:46 Parker's two for four today with a

2:07:47 double, a walk-off, RBI, single.

2:07:52 Filled out that stat sheet.

2:07:54 1-1 spot.

2:07:56 Pump ties down [ __ ]

2:07:58 Misses low.

2:08:01 >> [music]

2:08:09 >> 2-1.

2:08:11 Parker fouls it off. Morgan's looking

2:08:13 really good.

2:08:16 It's a confident Blake Morgan.

2:08:19 Deuces wild.

2:08:22 >> [music]

2:08:25 >> Parker

2:08:26 fouls it off. No chance for the fans.

2:08:39 Ben Parker thought about going around.

2:08:40 Stalled up the swing.

2:08:43 We've got a full count.

2:08:45 And everybody for the Firefighters have

2:08:47 to be ready cuz Ben Parker can [music]

2:08:49 move. We have seen him steal two bases

2:08:51 on ball four sprints many times before.

2:08:54 Outfield comes in.

2:08:55 >> [music]

2:08:56 >> Parker watches it miss. He's off to the

2:08:58 races. Ben Parker slows up. He's not

2:09:01 going for [music] two. It's a one base

2:09:02 ball four sprint. That'll bring Tanner

2:09:05 Allen up to the plate with a chance to

2:09:06 walk it off against Blake Morgan.

2:09:10 >> [music]

2:09:10 >> This is where if you're Blake, you got

2:09:11 to find that confident stuff that made

2:09:13 you so effective at UNC Wilmington back

2:09:16 with the Bridges Brothers in 2019,

2:09:19 why you got drafted here. It goes up

2:09:21 against [music] a guy in Tanner Allen.

2:09:22 We've already seen it tonight. 55 hits

2:09:25 leads the Banana Ball Championship

2:09:27 League.

2:09:28 >> Very modest lead at first base for Ben

2:09:30 Parker, about a half step off the bag.

2:09:33 He's got full trust in Tanner Allen to

2:09:35 get those wheels moving.

2:09:37 >> Curious where that one missed.

2:09:41 Allen big swing and miss.

2:09:43 You can see every batter in the Banana

2:09:45 Ball Championship League, [music] when

2:09:47 they see high heat, they're going.

2:09:53 >> [music]

2:09:59 >> CocoNuts have officially denied the

2:10:01 equalizer point. Can they put salt in

2:10:02 the wound?

2:10:05 Or on the rim of your margarita glass.

2:10:09 Time's going to tell.

2:10:13 Ticketed for the merch stands.

2:10:18 >> [music]

2:10:20 >> Backwards K. Blake Morgan gets out of

2:10:22 the eighth scoreless.

2:10:24 Two strikeouts in the inning for B Mo.

2:10:26 The Coconuts deny the equalizer point

2:10:28 and we head to the ninth two nothing in

2:10:30 favor of Loco Beach.

2:10:32 >> But you can't deny what Blake Morgan

2:10:33 just did for his Banana Ball team right

2:10:36 there. Comes out, gets a strikeout of

2:10:38 Ben Pumps Parker, and then does that

2:10:41 right there. To the ninth we go.

2:10:44 >> Ladies

2:10:46 and gentlemen,

2:10:47 the sound of the bell means it's time to

2:10:50 take a look at the scoreboard. With the

2:10:52 Coconuts currently leading the

2:10:53 Firefighters two two to zero. The

2:10:57 Firefighters are going to need to score

2:10:59 two runs in this inning to stay in this

2:11:02 game. But in Banana Ball, the final

2:11:05 inning is the most important because

2:11:07 every run counts as a point.

2:11:11 Manchester,

2:11:12 I'VE LOVED YOUR ENERGY ALL NIGHT AND I

2:11:15 NEED YOU TO KEEP IT UP. IT ALL COMES

2:11:18 DOWN TO THIS. THIS IS THE FINAL

2:11:21 [screaming]

2:11:23 INNING.

2:11:26 >> [cheering]

2:11:28 >> Three outs separate the Loco Beach

2:11:30 Coconuts from a series win, a season

2:11:33 series win.

2:11:37 And greatness in Manchester.

2:11:41 CJ Williams, the villain, is going to

2:11:43 deal with one, two, and three in the

2:11:45 order. This is the matchups you want in

2:11:46 the ninth inning.

2:11:48 The villainous closer against an MVP

2:11:50 candidate in Caden Green.

2:11:53 Last year's hero in the playoffs, Dalton

2:11:55 Cornett, and Logan Showtime Lacy.

2:12:00 It's best on best.

2:12:05 >> Fire

2:12:07 Coconuts trying to pitch a shutout.

2:12:11 Williams is three outs [music] away from

2:12:12 doing just that.

2:12:16 It starts against the guy dips his steak

2:12:18 in ranch, Cayden Green.

2:12:21 >> What?

2:12:22 >> You heard that right. Oh my goodness, he

2:12:24 does. That's

2:12:26 >> My My opinion of the Peanut has taken

2:12:28 like a 0.1% dip.

2:12:31 >> Ranch of all things, but

2:12:33 if there's one guy that can lead this

2:12:34 charge, it's the guy who comes into

2:12:36 tonight on [music] a 14-game

2:12:38 on-base streak.

2:12:39 >> Firefighters only have one run in this

2:12:41 game. It came all the way back in the

2:12:42 second inning against Will Latimer and

2:12:44 didn't earn a point.

2:12:48 >> CJ Williams

2:12:51 loves the moment. He lives for the

2:12:53 bright lights.

2:12:57 And he's got Green in a 1-2 count.

2:12:59 >> [music]

2:13:01 >> Williams hunting down another save.

2:13:05 >> [music]

2:13:07 >> 1-2 misses away.

2:13:09 Rare hitless game to this point for

2:13:11 Peanut. Can change it in a jiffy with

2:13:13 one swing.

2:13:19 Green just barely gets a piece. It's

2:13:20 back into the protective netting and

2:13:22 foul.

2:13:24 >> [music]

2:13:31 [music]

2:13:32 >> PEANUT GOES AROUND. CJ WILLIAMS K'S HIM.

2:13:38 COOL AS ICE. No reaction from the

2:13:40 villain. He knew it was a foregone

2:13:43 conclusion.

2:13:44 Four outs now for Williams.

2:13:47 He's two more away from winning this

2:13:49 series for the Coconuts, winning this

2:13:51 season series against the Firefighters

2:13:53 before even having the finale.

2:13:56 And getting the Nuts back over the .500

2:13:58 mark. [music]

2:14:02 Dalton Cornett's turn.

2:14:05 He's up 2-0. [music]

2:14:07 Talked to CJ the other night about

2:14:08 facing DC3, said he's one of of hardest

2:14:10 guys he has ever had to try to get out

2:14:12 because he does not miss

2:14:16 ever.

2:14:20 >> Three straight misses from Williams.

2:14:23 The villain's been brought out for a

2:14:25 fourth inning this weekend.

2:14:28 Readjusting his shoes, just two outs

2:14:30 away.

2:14:32 Winning the Coconut's yet another

2:14:34 series.

2:14:35 The 3-0 is in there for a strike.

2:14:40 Anything possible now on a 3-1 count.

2:14:44 Williams works fast and misses outside.

2:14:46 DC3 works a five-pitch ball four strike.

2:14:50 Cornett stalls up

2:14:52 and it brings the tying run to the plate

2:14:55 in Logan Lacey.

2:14:56 >> South Trimble is going to take over as a

2:14:58 designated runner.

2:15:00 If there's anybody to be used

2:15:01 potentially as a golden at bat tonight,

2:15:04 DC3's the guy. It's a rare lefty on

2:15:06 lefty match-up, but it also presents a

2:15:09 huge problem. Excuse me, lefty on righty

2:15:11 match-up, but it presents a massive

2:15:13 challenge

2:15:14 for CJ Williams.

2:15:20 >> Williams starts ahead 0-1.

2:15:23 The whiff.

2:15:24 Righty on righty.

2:15:26 Big versus big.

2:15:34 >> [music]

2:15:35 >> The villain makes it 0-2.

2:15:41 A double play would end it.

2:15:43 Both the game, the series, and even the

2:15:46 season series between these two.

2:15:51 CJ Williams, the 0-2.

2:15:54 Just outside.

2:15:56 Really mature take from Logan Lacey

2:15:59 to keep the bat on his shoulder and earn

2:16:01 another look.

2:16:07 1-2.

2:16:10 He did not go around. Crew chief Jake

2:16:13 Moore says that that was [music] not an

2:16:15 intent to swing from Lacy and the fight

2:16:17 rages on.

2:16:25 Battled off, will need to try another.

2:16:27 Williams, now 34 pitches into his

2:16:29 outing.

2:16:30 >> [music]

2:16:30 >> Can he get a second two-inning save this

2:16:34 series

2:16:35 with a couple of outs?

2:16:40 Lacy's got 24 ribbies this year.

2:16:45 Williams fires it to him.

2:16:47 AND IT'S CALLED FOR STRIKE THREE.

2:16:49 BACKWARDS K. Fourth punch out for CJ

2:16:52 Williams. THE VILLAIN IS AN OUT AWAY

2:16:55 FROM ANOTHER SAVE.

2:16:58 Go back and look at this.

2:17:03 In the ninth [music] inning

2:17:06 You got to protect the outside part of

2:17:08 the plate.

2:17:11 It's a heck OF A FRAME JOB. LAMAR SPARKS

2:17:14 INTO CENTER FIELD. PARKER'S BACK AND

2:17:16 IT'S OFF THE WALL. IT TAKES A WEIRD HOP.

2:17:19 THIS COULD BE TROUBLE. Lamar Sparks

2:17:21 headed for third. He's getting the wave

2:17:23 in to score. And he holds up at third

2:17:27 after a good relay from

2:17:29 PAYTON SHATNEY, BUT GUYS, THE GAME-TYING

2:17:32 point's on third on an RBI triple from

2:17:35 Lamar Sparks.

2:17:37 >> Now, THAT IS A GREAT

2:17:38 >> LAMAR JUST THE SPARK THE FIREFIGHTERS

2:17:42 NEEDED.

2:17:44 IT WAS CALLED A GRAVEYARD BY BEN

2:17:46 PARKER'S BROTHER AND IT WAS ALMOST a

2:17:49 potential LIFE SAVER FOR THE

2:17:51 FIREFIGHTERS.

2:17:54 THEY GET ONE MORE SHOT WITH ERIC JONES

2:17:56 JR.

2:17:58 >> TYING RUN STANDS on third, the

2:17:59 go-ahead's at the plate.

2:18:01 The villain forces a swing and miss. The

2:18:03 Firefighters are down to their final

2:18:05 two.

2:18:06 Eric Jones Jr. 0 for 3 today.

2:18:13 Jones

2:18:14 High fly ball. Left center field. Ben

2:18:17 Parker's underneath IT AND THE COCONUTS

2:18:19 WIN.

2:18:20 CJ WILLIAMS

2:18:22 secures the save and the season series.

2:18:25 The Loco Beach Coconuts

2:18:28 take the game 2-1. They take the series

2:18:30 2-1 and they've taken this world by

2:18:33 tropical storm.

2:18:36 It's a buzzer-to-buzzer win for the

2:18:37 Beach. CJ Williams earns another save.

2:18:41 The Coconuts

2:18:42 move to 18 and 17 with another win. The

2:18:46 Firefighters drop to 14 and 20 and it's

2:18:49 time they hit that celebratory dance.

2:18:51 The boys in their sunset uniforms win it

2:18:54 behind seven innings from Will Ethridge,

2:18:57 two innings from CJ Williams, and plenty

2:18:59 at the plate from one of the most potent

2:19:01 offenses in the world.

2:19:22 Let the water cannons rip

2:19:25 and go Loco, baby. The Coconuts are

2:19:28 victorious. 2 to 1 the final.

2:19:33 Behind a myriad of dominant pitching

2:19:36 headlined by Will Ethridge and closed

2:19:39 out by CJ Williams, there's only one

2:19:42 correct man for the showman tonight and

2:19:44 it's the guy Yogo Loco, baby Boo, down

2:19:47 to the F Factor.

2:19:48 >> That is exactly right, AJ. First off,

2:19:51 that moment back there, what was your

2:19:52 stomach and what was your mind feeling

2:19:54 in that ninth inning?

2:19:55 >> Man, we won a game. That's what I'm

2:19:57 really happy about is that it didn't

2:19:58 matter how, we won a game and that's

2:20:00 what we're looking for in Loco Beach.

2:20:02 >> You actually were here for a game when

2:20:04 you were with the Hartford Yard Goats in

2:20:06 Double A. You didn't pitch that game,

2:20:08 but now you have a dominant performance.

2:20:11 Compare yourself then and now because

2:20:14 Andy Archer told me in the dugout that's

2:20:15 the best he's ever seen you throw.

2:20:17 >> Man, that was incredible. I mean, I you

2:20:19 just can't give up on this team. It

2:20:20 didn't matter how many mis-trick plays

2:20:22 we have,

2:20:23 we're going to keep fighting. You know,

2:20:25 I couldn't give up on these guys. They

2:20:26 mis-trick play after trick play, kept

2:20:28 putting the ball in play. You know, I

2:20:30 didn't even have my best stuff tonight

2:20:31 and I got to give it my props to my

2:20:32 defense cuz I mean, that's a good

2:20:34 offense. They were hitting the ball

2:20:35 hard, but my defense was putting the

2:20:36 ball in the in the in the pocket for me

2:20:39 out.

2:20:39 >> I don't know where Brewer and Peyton

2:20:41 are, but you look at these guys.

2:20:42 Peyton's bleeding, Brewer got that

2:20:43 collision. The firefighters told me that

2:20:46 they're dogs. How do you describe the

2:20:47 grit of these coconuts?

2:20:48 >> I mean, that was that was special

2:20:50 moments there. Like we we kept fighting,

2:20:52 we didn't give up. You know, every

2:20:53 ground ball, you know, we we we tried

2:20:55 our best to put on a show for these guys

2:20:56 and we we kept it competitive and we

2:20:58 kept up with their trick plays, but

2:21:00 we're just so happy these guys are okay

2:21:02 and we won we won pretty much every part

2:21:04 of this game today.

2:21:05 >> Well, your first showman of the year,

2:21:06 congratulations. What a performance, AJ

2:21:08 Zack.

2:21:09 >> Back up you.

2:21:10 >> The F factor has arrived. It is about

2:21:14 time. If you haven't already, you put

2:21:16 some respect on Will Ethridge's name.

2:21:19 Seven shutout innings, just the one run,

2:21:22 no points and she going to pull your

2:21:25 baby boo. Sending batters back to the

2:21:27 dugout at a premium. His defense showed

2:21:30 up and stole the show. It's a

2:21:32 buzzer-to-buzzer win for the Nanners

2:21:34 behind a phenomenal game, another one

2:21:37 from Will Ethridge, the Banana Ball

2:21:39 Championship League's leader in

2:21:41 strikeouts in the month of June, earns

2:21:43 himself another win and continues to

2:21:46 shine in his starting role.

2:21:49 >> You give a ton of credit to both of

2:21:50 these starting pitchers tonight, Will

2:21:52 Ethridge and Jared Donaldson. Ethridge

2:21:53 will officially get the seven innings on

2:21:55 his stat sheet. Donnie only gets five

2:21:58 and two thirds because of the two

2:21:59 walk-offs, but those two combined for a

2:22:02 grand total of one earned run given up

2:22:03 tonight. The starting pitching in this

2:22:05 game was about as lead as you can get in

2:22:07 the showman of the game tells you

2:22:09 exactly why 11 trick plays induced. That

2:22:11 won the game for the Coconuts. The

2:22:12 [music] offense was good, but the

2:22:14 defense rallying for the trick plays.

2:22:16 Firefighters were in control the trick

2:22:18 plays and again could not come up with

2:22:20 the equalizer point. You think about how

2:22:22 much different that Lamar Sparks RBI

2:22:24 triple is

2:22:25 >> [music]

2:22:25 >> if they get that equalizer point. That's

2:22:28 where it becomes so difficult, but the

2:22:29 pitching tonight as is about as good as

2:22:31 you're going to see in the Banana Ball

2:22:32 Championship League between Jared

2:22:34 Donaldson, Blake Morgan, Will Ethridge

2:22:36 and CJ Williams. I would venture a guess

2:22:39 that this is the fewest pitchers we've

2:22:41 seen this year used between two teams

2:22:43 combined.

2:22:45 >> Will Ethridge

2:22:46 seven innings of work

2:22:48 11 trick plays [snorts] induced. Guys,

2:22:52 that is unheard of. I don't know how

2:22:55 else to put it for you. Let me hold your

2:22:57 hand.

2:22:57 >> I'm not holding All right, [ __ ]

2:23:01 >> Will Ethridge

2:23:03 2019 MLB draft has to wait until the

2:23:06 sixth round to hear his name called.

2:23:09 And I'm going to take my time because I

2:23:10 like holding this hand. So warm, Logan.

2:23:13 I see why you like this guy.

2:23:16 He waits. He waits. He waits. Now follow

2:23:18 along with me. He makes it to the

2:23:20 Colorado Rockies.

2:23:22 The minor league system that is and he

2:23:24 meets Keegan James.

2:23:25 Now Loco Beach Coconuts pitcher. The two

2:23:28 were pitching together with the Rockies.

2:23:29 I talked with Keegan before the game

2:23:31 today. These two best friends.

2:23:33 >> Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to drop

2:23:34 your hand.

2:23:35 >> These two best friends and Keegan told

2:23:37 me that since he met Will

2:23:39 six years ago to the day

2:23:41 this is the most confident he has ever

2:23:43 seen his best friend on the mound. He

2:23:45 just put it on full display. The

2:23:47 confidence will carry you as a starting

2:23:49 pitcher and it just carried the Coconut

2:23:51 to a win. Let's put the context of this

2:23:54 win into the entire picture. Guys, the

2:23:57 Loco Beach Coconuts just won yet another

2:23:59 series. They've only lost two since the

2:24:01 Banana Ball opened, but it doesn't stop

2:24:03 there. They just won their second season

2:24:05 series. The only two season series in

2:24:07 the Banana Ball Championship League that

2:24:09 are already wrapped up both belong to

2:24:12 Loco Beach. They beat the Party Animals

2:24:14 seven times. They now beat the Fire

2:24:16 Fighters seven times and it doesn't stop

2:24:18 there because when you approach your day

2:24:20 with a smile and you attack fiercely

2:24:22 with joy and positivity, it comes back.

2:24:25 Karma, a real thing and it's on full

2:24:27 display cuz we're going loco, baby. Your

2:24:29 final score, Loco Beach Coconuts two,

2:24:32 Fire Fighters one. So, for my amazing

2:24:34 friend, Zack State, my roommate on this

2:24:36 trip, my goodness, I can't believe we

2:24:38 don't get to game together again until

2:24:39 the last [music] series of the year.

2:24:41 But, I look forward to Biloxi,

2:24:42 Mississippi. Until then, we say so long.

2:24:45 So, for Michael Schwartz, Beach Side,

2:24:46 for our producer Chadwick Folkestad, our

2:24:48 director Keegan Woods and my great dear

2:24:51 friend whose hand I will hold till the

2:24:53 end of time, Zack State. The Coconuts

2:24:55 win the series, win the game and secure

2:24:58 the season series against the Fire

2:24:59 Fighters by a final score of two to one.

2:25:01 Spread love, spread joy and go loco,

2:25:04 baby.

2:25:16 >> [music]

2:25:28 [music]

2:25:39 [music]

2:25:54 [music]

2:26:25 >> Mhm.
