Texas Tailgaters @ Party Animals
Party Animals FINALLY Meet Texas Tailgaters Again in NASHVILLE, Tennessee!
📝 Full transcript (4511 segments)
0:11 And we are live at the intersection of
0:13 Pearl Snaps and Party. There stands a
0:15 crossroads, and there are a sign marker
0:17 of proper distinction for two teams that
0:19 converged on that confluence of sign
0:22 that reads one word, plain and clear,
0:24 Nashville. It's Music City and it's two
0:27 brands and their two bands who entertain
0:30 the locals through the wee hours of the
0:31 morning. And Tennessee's finest will be
0:33 subject to the glory once again tonight.
0:36 [music] Welcome to the greatest party in
0:39 sports.
0:41 And welcome inside the Rage Cage. I'm
0:43 Drake Toll here to hold your hand or
0:45 your beer for the next two hours of
0:47 tango. And it's an honor to share the
0:50 booth again with my best friend, my
0:52 roommate on this trip, room 207 at the
0:55 Red Roof Inn, the Conscientious Cowboy
0:58 Brett Loftis. And partner, it's good to
1:00 get these two back together. And it's
1:02 good to Tailgaters and Party Animals are
1:04 back as well. The two times they played
1:06 each other in the first half of the
1:07 year, that's got to be criminal. But
1:09 it's been two different crossroads,
1:11 really, what we've seen in the since
1:13 then. Party Animals have [cheering]
1:15 fallen off, but came back with their
1:16 series win last weekend. And the
1:18 Tailgaters have simply revolutionized
1:20 the way the sport and the game of Banana
1:22 Ball is played. I think everybody right
1:23 now is chasing the Texas Tailgaters, not
1:25 just in the standings, but from a
1:26 gameplay standpoint, trick plays to
1:28 elite starting pitching, the Tailgaters
1:30 are the standard right now. But the
1:32 Party Animals are red hot. Let's tell
1:33 you why and take you back just six days
1:36 ago to New Jersey. It was the Jersey
1:39 Shore, Knicks in five. I'm still being
1:41 told that rings in my ears after the
1:42 fifth Benadryl. Todd Frazier, his second
1:45 special guest appearance in the sport of
1:46 Banana Ball. The first time he's donned
1:48 the black and pink as a Party Animal
1:50 after debuting with the Bananas last
1:51 season in Cincinnati. And against the
1:53 former Tailgater Brett Carson, pops out
1:55 to the former Party Animal Sal Giacobbe,
1:57 but a huge moment and a huge special
1:59 guest for those black and pink. Then
2:01 Bret Helton, the star of the weekend.
2:04 Nine innings, a banana ball shutout
2:08 after a loss in game one on Thursday.
2:10 The Party Animals rallied on Friday
2:11 behind that right arm.
2:14 >> Yeah, I mean, earning two points, not
2:16 losing one, just gave up one run. Helton
2:18 was special, man. You only strike out
2:20 two guys? You talking about inducing a
2:22 lot of contact and being what he is, the
2:24 great guy of banana ball. What about
2:26 this What's your name?
2:27 >> Denise. Denise.
2:27 >> Denise.
2:28 >> Denise in the beach hat. Some friendly
2:30 fire against Loco Beach. Bronson Ball
2:33 home loved it, and Bret Helton
2:35 celebrated deep into the night. Another
2:37 complete game for B Helton. And then
2:39 Drew Gillespie slammed the door. You
2:41 trying to get his get back, and
2:43 Gillespie got it with a save in game
2:45 three. The Animals, for the first time
2:47 this season, win a series against the
2:49 Loco Beach Coconuts, taking two out of
2:51 three and winning by a singular point in
2:53 that game three rubber match. Here is
2:55 Bret Helton and his complete games in
2:57 the history of banana ball. He has over
2:58 half the complete games we've ever seen
3:00 in this sport. Two of them this year,
3:03 the first two of their kind in the
3:04 Banana Ball Championship League.
3:06 >> Yeah, and what's interesting to me, he
3:08 has the only two complete games as an
3:10 away pitcher where he's recorded all 27
3:12 outs. September the 4th, 2023, and then
3:15 in game two in Jersey Shore. Nine
3:17 innings, getting all 27 outs as the away
3:20 team, not allowing a single walk-off in
3:22 the sport of banana ball is very, very
3:24 special. And that's exactly what Bret
3:26 Helton [music] did last weekend.
3:27 >> Yeah, our own Matty Warren was field
3:29 side pregame and talked to the man who
3:31 said he could throw 117, 118 right now
3:33 and do it all over again if you want him
3:34 to.
3:39 >> Bret Helton, I feel like I've seen you
3:42 around here. Oh, yeah. Yeah, you're up
3:44 on the video board. That's why your face
3:45 looks familiar. Now, Nashville, let's
3:48 start here. It's Party Animal Central,
3:50 let's be honest. This is the perfect
3:51 city for the party animals to come to,
3:53 give a headlining show, but I think the
3:55 coolest thing about it is that you have
3:57 a mega talented band that got to perform
4:00 on Broadway and a mega talented teammate
4:03 that got got to perform on Broadway last
4:04 night. Did that kind of give a little
4:06 bit of oomph to the guys to like go out,
4:08 support the rest of your cast, support
4:09 one of your teammates to come in to play
4:10 today?
4:11 >> Yeah, first off, it doesn't matter where
4:12 they're at, we're going to support them.
4:14 So, like they've had a bunch of gigs
4:15 that are like in the same city or close
4:16 to where we're at and we just go in deep
4:18 and take the place over and just support
4:20 them as much as we possibly can. But,
4:21 then you do it where we're right by and
4:23 our hotel's right here and you're in a
4:24 sick spot, it's a no-brainer that we're
4:26 going to go there, root them on and it
4:27 was so much fun. We packed the whole
4:28 thing out and it was lit because they
4:30 put on a great show. Bobo did amazing.
4:32 Party Down was was incredible. So, I
4:34 mean, start to finish, it was perfect,
4:35 but you bring us to a city where there's
4:37 music in every single bar and every
4:39 single restaurant and every There's
4:40 music everywhere. What do you expect us
4:41 to do? We're going to go crazy.
4:43 >> It's electric and the momentum is
4:44 obvious. So, we have the momentum of
4:46 Nashville just being here, but we also
4:48 have the moment momentum of last
4:49 weekend, which I know Brett and Drake
4:51 will talk to you about a little bit
4:52 more. Maybe tomorrow, I don't know.
4:54 We'll see. Uh complete game. What kind
4:57 of momentum are you coming off of from
4:58 last weekend?
5:00 >> Uh it's just kind of like the perfect
5:01 outing. You dream about it, you want to
5:03 do it all the time, you want to be out
5:04 there for the whole game start to
5:05 finish. So, like when you do it, that's
5:06 just it's the highlight. You think about
5:08 it, you wonder what you did good, you
5:09 wonder what you need to improve on to
5:10 try and do it again. So, it's really fun
5:12 to just kind of sit back. I can replay
5:14 how it went. It's funny that we won't
5:16 see the coconuts anymore. So, like
5:18 everything that we did to get to that
5:19 point to be able to throw at bats
5:21 against the same team to get through a
5:23 full game is kind of doesn't matter now
5:25 cuz we don't play them again until the
5:26 playoffs. So, it's kind of cool that we
5:28 can dive in all the games it took us
5:30 against the coconuts over and over to to
5:32 feel the hitters, to see how they play,
5:34 to get a feel for their lineup and then
5:36 we can do something like that and
5:37 dominate the whole game. It's very fun,
5:38 but now it's over with. They're gone.
5:39 So, now I got to start all over again. I
5:41 get to watch I get to watch two full
5:42 games of the Tailgaters cuz I'll just be
5:44 hanging out and dancing today and
5:45 tomorrow. So, I'll see who's hot, see
5:46 who's
5:47 up and down, in and out, kind of how our
5:49 pitchers pitch, and it'll help me for
5:50 that game on Saturday. But, same as
5:53 always, I'm going to go out there with
5:54 the same mindset. I'm going to throw
5:54 strikes, I'm going to have fun, and just
5:56 do the absolute best that I do, and
5:58 sometimes it's for seven innings,
5:59 sometimes it's for nine. So, I don't
6:01 care what it happens as long as the boys
6:02 can win, and the guys are there, and you
6:04 know, the vibes are high, and the fans
6:05 love it, nothing else matters, but I'm
6:07 going to be shooting for nine innings
6:07 again.
6:08 >> It's Bret Helton, it's a party animal,
6:10 so you know it's going to be the
6:11 greatest party in sports here in
6:13 Nashville this weekend, guys.
6:16 >> Thank you, Bret. Thank you, Maddie. And
6:17 there is a scrumptuous shot of that Bret
6:20 Helton who graced the video board here
6:22 in Nashville all morning long.
6:25 And we are moments away from first pitch
6:27 between the Party Animals and the Texas
6:29 Tailgaters, and those Tailgaters lead
6:30 the Banana Ball Championship League in a
6:32 very important stat, and that stat is
6:34 wins.
6:35 >> Nobody has ever gotten to 20 wins
6:37 faster, Drake Toll, in the history of an
6:39 animal.
6:40 But, the other three teams that have
6:42 gotten to 20 wins first in 2023, those
6:45 Party Animals, 2024, those Bananas, and
6:47 2025, the Party Animals again, won the
6:50 Tour Championship.
6:52 There's a trend there, I'm just saying.
6:53 There's a There's a trend, Drake Toll.
6:55 >> Well, I've already seen the script, and
6:56 the Party Animals do win the 2026 Banana
6:59 Ball Tour Championship as well, the
7:01 first league championship. So, I'm not
7:02 sure where you're getting
7:03 your information.
7:05 >> I actually got it from your
7:05 ex-girlfriend. I believe her name is
7:07 >> Morgan?
7:08 >> And Morgan What was her last name?
7:09 >> Morgantown?
7:10 >> You know, THE TEXAS TAILGATERS WERE JUST
7:12 THERE LAST weekend playing the
7:14 Indianapolis Clowns, and boy oh boy, let
7:16 me tell you, those country roads
7:18 >> to Morgan?
7:19 >> They lead you to beautiful, beautiful
7:20 mountains. They also lead you to pretty
7:22 cool stats. We just talked about
7:23 quickest team to 20 wins ever. How about
7:25 the quickest team to 400 trick plays in
7:27 a season ever? The Texas Tailgaters did
7:29 that last weekend in game one. And what
7:31 about Princess JB, serving up alip tacos
7:34 for dinner? His sixth Yaya the League of
7:37 the Year, tied fourth best in the BBCL,
7:40 and JB in route to a win and his second
7:44 showman of the game in game one over the
7:48 clowns. It was domination in game one
7:50 for the boys in red, white, and blue.
7:51 And then it was my July in game two.
7:53 Jason Hart
7:55 in place of the injured KYLE MARTIN GOES
7:57 A YA YA FOR THE FIRST time this year,
7:59 the second time in his Bananaball
8:00 career, and would be the game-winning
8:03 home run. But this would be the play
8:04 that took us by storm, a 6-4-6-3 double
8:07 play, also a double trick play, the
8:09 first of its kind in our sport of
8:12 Bananaball. And then obviously the play
8:15 everybody's wanting to see, the final
8:17 out. 3 to 2, the Texas Tailgaters win
8:19 their fifth straight ballgame in
8:21 Morgantown. They win their back They
8:23 sweep back-to-back series for the first
8:25 time ever, and they are the best team in
8:28 Bananaball.
8:29 >> Did she mention me? Did she say
8:31 anything?
8:32 >> Uh she mentioned Drake, but she talked
8:34 about Iceman or something.
8:35 >> Okay, something like that. I'll tell you
8:38 these Texas Tailgaters, watching from
8:39 afar as the Party Animals have done the
8:41 last couple of months, have been tearing
8:44 it up. And And that is shown in our
8:46 Broadcaster Power Rankings every week.
8:48 Texas has been at number one those last
8:49 2 months, and you said it earlier, you
8:52 got to go right back to it. The first
8:53 team to 20 wins wins. That's been
8:56 consistent in our sport.
8:57 >> Yeah, and I think when you look at it,
8:59 first three-game series sweep in
9:00 Charlotte, back-to-back series sweep.
9:02 That top line though, five-game winning
9:04 streak, the longest in the young history
9:05 of the Tailgaters. How has that
9:07 happened? Because they've scored runs
9:09 that have led to a lot of points. Let's
9:11 look at the month of June and the RBI
9:13 leaders thus far.
9:14 Seven
9:15 Seven of the top nine all wear blue and
9:19 orange, Drake told. They have scored 67
9:22 runs
9:24 in the month of June. The next closest
9:25 entering the night, the Firefighters
9:27 with 35. This Tailgaters lineup, this
9:29 Tailgaters offense has been exceptional.
9:32 You know what else is exceptional?
9:34 >> My hair.
9:35 >> That You know that's actually what I was
9:36 going to say.
9:36 >> Is it really? I don't know how you knew.
9:37 Yeah, I missed you so much. I figured
9:38 you know, I needed to give you a
9:40 compliment tonight. I missed you a lot.
9:41 I hadn't seen you in what feels like 4
9:43 years. Really more or less 3 months
9:45 since
9:46 What was that old sack?
9:47 >> You broke the seat on my boat 3 weeks
9:50 ago.
9:51 >> We don't have to tell them that.
9:52 >> Yeah, well you did.
9:53 >> Your boat is old by the way.
9:54 >> It's not old.
9:55 >> It's old. You told me you paid $27,917
10:00 for a boat that already had a broken
10:01 seat.
10:02 >> It's not true.
10:03 $27,918
10:06 to be exact. And let's take you back to
10:08 old Sap's Sap's Town where these two
10:11 teams played a two-game set and it was
10:13 back before the Savannah Bananas ball
10:14 opened. So the Party Animals were the
10:15 home team in game one, the visiting team
10:17 in game two, and night one all the stars
10:21 were out. All the trick plays were out
10:22 as well.
10:23 >> Yeah, 32 combined trick plays which at
10:25 that time set the single game combined
10:27 trick play record that has since been
10:29 broken in El Paso by the Tailgaters and
10:31 Fire Fighters who had 33 in that game.
10:33 And then again last Saturday in Lincoln,
10:35 Nebraska where the Bananas and Fire
10:37 [music] Fighters combined for 33 in the
10:38 game. That was a special night though.
10:40 Indiana Stanley had a couple home runs
10:41 that night. Jake Scholl prevailed to be
10:43 the hero though as the Party Animals
10:45 walked it off in showdowns. And then a
10:47 dirty the next day in which the
10:49 Tailgaters were victorious. But there's
10:51 a man who is who is really prompted
10:55 >> This has been my favorite part of not
10:57 playing the Texas Tailgaters the last 3
10:58 months is not seeing that man. It's Kyle
11:00 Martin, isn't it?
11:02 >> Show me the graphic.
11:03 >> Yeah, there you go.
11:04 >> I know you love to talk all the time
11:06 about Mr. Triple Crown, Mr. X. Kyle
11:08 Martin has a chance to do something in
11:10 his his 31st game of the year. It'll be
11:13 game 32 for the Tailgaters, but his 31st
11:15 game of the year he can break the single
11:18 season home run record tonight that Jake
11:20 Scholl set last year in 65 games played.
11:22 You see it. RBI, he's on pace to [music]
11:24 pass Scholl. Average, on pace to pass
11:26 Scholl. OPS, on pace to pass Scholl. All
11:29 those numbers you As you from Jake
11:30 Scholl's single season Banana Ball
11:32 records that he set last year in 2025,
11:35 what Kyle Martin has done this year has
11:37 been incredible.
11:38 >> There's chance that Martin rewrites the
11:39 record books on home runs this weekend.
11:41 Just needs one in this three-game series
11:44 in Nashville. Kyle Martin, you see that
11:45 little blurb at the very bottom. He's on
11:47 pace for a historic dominant season in
11:50 the Banana Ball Championship League.
11:51 Status on his health, by the way?
11:53 >> He's playing tonight. He's feeling
11:54 really, really good. He was line dancing
11:56 last night at Jason Art's concert. So, I
11:58 think I think K-Mart is doing all, all
12:00 good. You know another guy that dances a
12:03 little bit? He
12:04 Gracias, gracias, gracias. Is J Eto with
12:06 us?
12:07 It's a thank you guy. Brett Sanchez
12:10 facing off against your good friend.
12:11 >> Yeah.
12:12 If there's been one pitcher, one starter
12:15 better since the Banana Ball open than
12:16 Garrett Delano in Banana Ball, it has
12:18 been Brett Sanchez. Sanchez's numbers
12:20 speak for themselves, [music]
12:21 and Garrett Delano has caught on. After
12:22 a slow start to his year, he said in
12:24 essence in his mind he treated those
12:26 first couple of games as almost
12:27 preseason. I'm ramping up. I'm learning
12:29 about my body, my arm, about who I'm
12:31 going to be in 2026. He has figured it
12:34 out since then, and Brett Sanchez has
12:37 just been the epitome of consistency all
12:39 season long.
12:40 >> And Sanchez has been that since he
12:42 entered Banana Ball 354
12:45 days ago. My good friend Stank Stank
12:48 played your Party Animal in Louisville,
12:50 Kentucky as he was visiting. This was
12:52 his first career Banana Ball start,
12:53 first career appearance, and he
12:55 absolutely shoved. Great toe.
12:57 >> Slide Out, Louisiana. You couldn't have
12:58 known at that time. There were members
12:59 that visited the team, the developmental
13:01 team of Banana Ball that did not make it
13:02 in this sport, and ultimately the
13:04 question was is Brett said Brett Sanchez
13:07 on the mound and via the entertainment a
13:09 Banana Baller? And the answer was
13:11 unequivocally yes. There are even shades
13:13 of that
13:14 >> Thank you.
13:15 >> Thank you.
13:16 >> Thank you.
13:17 >> And well, he wasn't quite evolved back
13:19 then, but a Sanchez 2.0, he proved his
13:21 worth in this sport, and he has backed
13:23 it up this season. [music]
13:24 >> And he's It's incredible both inducing
13:26 trick plays and trick pitches, which as
13:30 you know is a part of our 11. What what
13:32 do they call them?
13:33 >> Well, those would be the 11 rules. And
13:34 now for the man who owns the company and
13:36 is my boss, my best friend in the world
13:39 and my roommate this weekend at room 307
13:41 at the True by Hilton, Jesse Cole.
13:47 >> Banana Ball is the fastest and most
13:49 entertaining show in sports. And the 11
13:51 rules guarantee the most fans first
13:53 experience every second.
13:55 >> Unbelievable!
13:57 >> WELCOME TO THE BANANA BALL CHAMPIONSHIP
13:59 LEAGUE.
13:59 >> Rule number one, win the inning, win the
14:02 point. The team that scores the most
14:04 runs in an inning wins the point.
14:06 >> IT'S A WALK-OFF WINNER!
14:09 >> [cheering]
14:10 >> OH MY GOODNESS!
14:11 >> With the equalizer point, trick plays
14:13 provide the away team an opportunity to
14:15 earn a point going into the final
14:17 inning.
14:18 And in the final inning, every run
14:20 counts as a point.
14:21 Rule number two, Banana Ball has a
14:23 two-hour time limit, guaranteeing that
14:26 every game is fast-paced and
14:28 action-packed.
14:30 Rule number three, no stepping out of
14:32 the batter's box. If you do, it will
14:34 result in a strike.
14:35 >> Max stepped out of the box, and because
14:37 he stepped out of the box, that's it!
14:39 >> Rule number four, no bunting, cuz
14:41 bunting sucks. If you bunt, you'll be
14:44 thrown out of the game. Rule number
14:46 five, batters can steal first base.
14:48 >> Ball three, GIDDY IS TAKING OFF FOR
14:50 FIRST THROW FROM LEROY, IN TIME!
14:53 >> Rule number six, there's no walks. Walks
14:56 are ball four sprints. The batter can
14:58 advance as far as they want until every
15:01 position player touches the ball.
15:03 >> No defenders have touched the Banana
15:05 BALL. IT IS A FOUR-BASE SPRINT TO OPEN
15:08 up the ball game!
15:09 >> Rule number seven,
15:11 no mound visits.
15:13 Nope.
15:14 Rule number eight, foul balls caught by
15:16 a fan count as an out.
15:24 Rule number nine, the showdown. In
15:27 showdowns, the best of the best face off
15:29 in the biggest moment. One hitter versus
15:31 one pitcher with one fielder behind him.
15:34 And the hitter has to score.
15:40 Rule number 10, the banana ball
15:42 challenge rule gives the coaches and you
15:44 the fans a chance to impact a call on
15:47 the field.
15:48 >> [cheering]
15:49 >> Rule number 11, the golden batter. Once
15:51 a game, each team can give any player in
15:54 the bat regardless of the lineup. This
15:56 offers the biggest matchups on the
15:58 biggest stage.
16:06 >> [cheering]
16:10 >> And those are the rules of banana ball.
16:44 >> The fans is ready.
16:46 The players are ready. And now it's time
16:50 for you, the fans, to get ready. So, we
16:53 need everyone who is able to get up out
16:57 of your seats, on your feet, and please
17:01 help me welcome tonight's fan warm-up
17:03 leader, 6-year-old Payton.

17:12 >> All right, Payton. Here's how it's going
17:14 to go. Whatever you do, this whole sold
17:18 out stadium is going to do. Are you
17:22 ready?
17:23 >> Let's party!
17:26 >> Let's party on!
17:29 Let's start with some claps.
17:40 And we're waving.
17:47 Ooh, is that a little disco?
17:55 Ooh, let's bring it around town.
18:03 Scooba.
18:13 Now for the jumping jacks.

19:31 sexiest players step into the gauntlet.
19:35 This is a game of the fans, by the fans,
19:38 and for the fans. But this is not your
19:42 granddad's pastime. This is not just
19:44 another night at the ballpark. This game
19:47 is baseball by birth, fruit by name, and
19:50 an absolute worldwide fanomenon by the
19:53 grace of God, featuring Lil Jon.
19:59 This is the time for ALL 10,000 fans
20:03 here in Nashville, TENNESSEE, TO GET ON
20:06 YOUR FEET AND GIVE ME YOUR VOICES!

22:07 number 11, Chase Acock.
22:23 Given from section 113, the left
22:25 fielder, number four,

22:31 >> [screaming]
22:40 >> And on top of the third base dugout, the
22:42 third baseman, NUMBER EIGHT, BRYSON
22:46 >> [screaming]
22:47 >> BOWMAN.
22:55 AND ALSO ON TOP OF THE THIRD BASE
22:57 DUGOUT, the second baseman,
22:59 number nine,
23:03 DUSTIN
23:07 BAKER
23:15 AT THE TOP OF THE FIRST BASE DUGOUT, the
23:18 extra hitter, he wears 407,
23:21 MATT
23:22 >> [screaming]
23:24 >> VALERIO.
23:33 COMING FROM THE FIRST BASE DUGOUT,
23:37 tonight's starting pitcher,
23:40 wearing triple seven,
23:44 GERALDO
23:45 >> [screaming]
23:47 >> VALERIO.
23:54 The head coach for the Party Animals is
23:56 Mike Babavaces. He's assisted by Thomas
23:59 and Jenny Sabino and Anthony Caramato.
24:18 Ladies and gentlemen, at this time,
24:20 we ask that you please rise
24:23 and give your best
24:24 and join us in honoring America with the
24:26 singing of tonight's national anthem.
24:29 Please welcome to the field Bri
24:32 Amaranthus.
24:33 >> Oh say, can you see
24:37 >> [singing]
24:38 >> by the dawn's
24:40 early light,
24:42 what so proudly
24:45 we
24:45 >> [singing]
24:45 >> hailed
24:47 at the twilight's
24:49 last gleaming,
24:51 >> [singing]
24:51 >> whose broad stripes and bright stars
24:56 through the perilous
24:59 fight [singing]
25:01 or the ramparts
25:03 we watched
25:05 were so gallantly [singing]
25:08 streaming
25:10 and the rockets
25:13 >> [screaming]
25:13 >> red glare
25:15 the
25:16 bombs bursting
25:19 in air
25:20 gave
25:22 proof through the
25:23 night
25:24 >> [singing]
25:25 >> that our flag was still there. Oh,
25:30 say does
25:30 >> [singing]
25:32 >> that star-spangled
25:36 banner
25:36 >> [singing]
25:37 [screaming]
25:41 >> yet wave for the land
25:42 >> [singing]
25:44 >> of the free
25:48 and the
25:50 home of the
25:51 >> [singing]
25:52 >> brave?
25:54 >> [cheering]
25:55 >> Nashville, stay standing. Put your arm
25:59 around the person to your left. Put your
26:02 arm around the person to your
26:09 >> Two teams
26:11 that have not met in 3 months.
26:14 Two brands that locked arms week after
26:18 week a season ago.
26:21 It's the Pinstripes versus THE BLACK AND
26:24 PINK.
26:25 It's the TEXAS TAILGATERS, THE FAVORITE
26:28 to win THE BANANA BALL CHAMPIONSHIP,
26:30 against the defending Banana Ball
26:31 champion Party Animals.
26:35 To quote
26:36 a great man, "Where else would you
26:39 rather be?"
26:43 >> GOODNESS GRACIOUS ALIVE, DRAKE
26:44 [screaming] TOLD I WANT TO BE RIGHT HERE
26:46 IN THE Music City, my friend.
26:53 >> [cheering]
26:54 >> I'm good. it's exactly where we are.
26:57 Here they come, the defense of the Party
26:59 Animals. Let's say hello
27:02 to how they'll line up
27:03 from left to right across the outfield
27:05 where we start. Tanner Thomas, Reese
27:07 Hampton, John Howard Bowden, the
27:09 designated fielder. Skull will hit.
27:11 >> [cheering]
27:11 >> He'll lead the game off as John Howard
27:13 Bowden is in right. And you'll notice
27:15 that 59 next to Chase Eaker. That's the
27:17 number of trick plays with the shortstop
27:19 chosen for the Party Animals. And 59
27:22 paces the entire team. The black and
27:23 pink will need a whole lot of those
27:25 tonight to stave off the equalizer point
27:27 that Texas Tailgaters are hunting. If
27:29 those Tailgaters have more trick plays
27:32 than the Party Animals going into the
27:33 final inning, they'll be awarded an
27:35 added point. Andy Cosgrove will catch
27:38 for Garrett Delano. Triple 7 has been
27:40 incredible since the Banana Ball opened.
27:41 6'2" 210-lb righty from Callahan,
27:45 Florida.
27:47 Delano
27:49 four-year college career at Brown before
27:50 heading off to Mercer to complete
27:52 things. Played for the Savannah Bananas
27:53 in the Coastal Plain League before going
27:55 into construction.
27:56 He's coming back as a stalwart of this
27:59 brand, the Party Animals. Making his
28:01 15th start this season.
28:04 With a fastball at 93 mph, Delano works
28:08 against one of the best batting orders
28:09 in the entire Banana Ball Championship
28:11 League, those Texas Tailgaters.
28:13 >> Yeah, the best right now, Drake told.
28:15 They have been absolutely incredible.
28:17 And it's been since this man has went to
28:19 the lead-off spot. And Zack Watson
28:21 hitting 333
28:23 since assuming the top spot in the
28:24 order. Nick Lopez right behind him in
28:26 all-star season going. And the auction,
28:28 Kyle Martin, who can do some history
28:30 tonight. If he hits a home run, he can
28:32 surpass Jake Skull in the single-season
28:34 home run king. The man I'm really
28:36 looking at though in this lineup to get
28:38 it going is Mack Danford. I think
28:39 tonight's the night where Mack Danford
28:42 can really get himself back on the track
28:44 that we seen him in the first half of
28:46 last year.
28:48 >> AJ Curse is down on the field. It is a
28:51 sold-out house here in Nashville.
28:52 There's one thing left to do.
29:02 >> Fans down on the field with AJ Curse we
29:04 go. Hey AJ, this crowd looks ready to
29:07 start this party.
29:10 >> Nashville,
29:12 the moment you have been waiting for has
29:14 arrived. IT IS TIME TO KICK OFF the
29:17 greatest party in sports. We're going to
29:21 start that patented banana ball 2-hour
29:23 time limit clock. And in order to do
29:25 that, we're going to count it down, but
29:28 instead of zero, I need each and every
29:30 one of you to yell "Start the party" as
29:34 loud as you can. Here we go. 3 2 1
29:44 SHOWTIME!
29:47 >> IT IS SHOWTIME from Music City.
29:50 Triple-A Seven's Garrett Delano toes the
29:53 rubber against the LSU legend Zach
29:55 Watson.
29:58 It's a three-game stretch. Let's play
30:01 banana ball in Nashville.
30:05 And one underway underway with the ball
30:06 outside.
30:08 Hunter arrives, the home plate umpire,
30:10 standing just behind Andy Cosgrove.
30:15 A 1-1
30:16 What he's done last 10 games since
30:18 Knoxville, Tennessee,
30:20 hitting .333.
30:23 >> [cheering]
30:23 >> And I know you're not a man of numbers,
30:25 you're a man of character and story
30:26 time.
30:27 Jazz Watson, his wife, his lovely wife,
30:30 painted him some Woody
30:32 spikes, inspired by Toy Story, for that
30:34 series. He's been wearing them ever
30:35 since.
30:37 Watson
30:39 tapped left side, it stays foul.
30:43 Finds himself in a 1-2 hole. Watson has
30:45 struck out 13 times in his 96 plate
30:48 appearances this season.
30:50 And Garrett Delano has been strip privy
30:52 to those Ks. Had nine of them in his
30:54 first three innings of work a few
30:56 weekends ago in Indianapolis against the
30:57 Clowns.
31:00 1-2
31:02 HE GOT HIM.
31:03 GARRETT DELANO
31:06 SPARES NO TIME for the Crab Selling.
31:12 >> And you know tall, that has been the
31:13 scouting report on the Tailgaters this
31:15 year. Fastballs up in two-strike counts
31:17 are getting guys fishing. And Garrett
31:19 Delano has obviously been watching his
31:21 tape. That's the place to go there to
31:23 get out number one and strike out number
31:24 one.
31:27 >> Texas Tailgaters as a team have struck
31:29 out second most in the Banana Ball
31:31 Championship League. That's more because
31:32 of their power approach. I don't think
31:34 you've really got to change much. I
31:35 don't think
31:36 Joe Miceli and company are worried about
31:38 that number.
31:40 >> And it's got to be
31:41 not a feast or famine that it was to
31:43 start the year. Yeah, they've just been
31:44 the second most struck out team, but
31:46 they also have the second best batting
31:47 average in the league as well.
31:48 >> Yep. Yep.
31:54 >> Nick Lopez, a big hack, he comes up
31:56 empty.
31:58 And Delano is in prime position for
32:00 consecutive Ks to start this ball game.
32:04 The righty deals.
32:06 Right back to him.
32:07 Trick play opportunity. Garrett Delano,
32:09 his third trick play on the season,
32:11 first of the night for the Party
32:12 Animals. And it's two up, two down.
32:16 Como se dice DC booking IN PARTY ANIMAL?
32:19 COUNT IT for Garrett Delano.
32:23 Beautiful replay from our truck.
32:26 And here comes a man on the precipice of
32:28 history, Kyle Martin.
32:36 What K Martin has done this year has
32:37 been nothing short of incredible. I mean
32:40 >> Yeah.
32:41 >> 15 home runs and he's played in 30 of
32:43 the 31 games this far for the Texas
32:45 Tailgaters.
32:48 Give you another number to put in
32:49 perspective. Skull hit 15 in 65 last
32:52 year, Drake. Same amount this far of
32:54 football to baseball stadium home runs.
32:57 Four in football stadiums, 11 in
32:58 baseball stadiums this far for Kmart and
33:01 for Skull last year.
33:02 >> That's the first question a lot of
33:03 people ask is, all right, his home run
33:05 >> numbers are so solid. How many are in
33:06 football stadiums? Those short porches.
33:08 Not near as many as you'd expect out of
33:10 the 15. Just four as you mentioned.
33:14 Delano tries to work around him and a
33:16 ball four sprint is the result.
33:19 AND KMART WANTS TWO. THE PARTY ANIMALS
33:21 CAUGHT SLEEPING. HE'S GOT IT AND THEN
33:24 SOME.
33:25 >> The auction moves really well to be 33
33:28 years old. Hey, you asked him about his
33:29 health pregame. There's your answer, by
33:31 the way.
33:31 He can move and Brian Schopfer, our
33:34 athletic trainer, should get a lot of
33:35 love because he worked with Kmart the
33:37 whole week and Kmart is feeling really,
33:39 really good as you can tell with a
33:41 two-bagger via ball four sprint, the
33:43 first base runner of the ballgame.
33:45 >> And if you look at Kyle Martin up and
33:46 down, you don't expect him with to have
33:47 that kind of speed. I think the Party
33:48 Animals defense moves slower because of
33:50 that.
33:52 The perception is, oh, here's our Barry
33:54 Bonds up here. He's just going to walk
33:55 to first base.
33:56 >> Also, when your defense is playing as
33:57 deep as they are because you're in fear
34:00 of him hitting it over your head, it's
34:01 going to be harder to get him there at
34:02 second.
34:06 >> Jordan Barth wears one.
34:08 >> [laughter]
34:09 >> You see him look at him. That's one of
34:10 his best friends in this life, man.
34:13 Garrett Delano, Jordan Barth go way, way
34:16 back. You know what Barth told me
34:17 earlier today? Can I tell you a secret
34:19 between me, you, and Guy Great?
34:19 >> You got it. All right.
34:20 >> JB said, "I don't care if I go one for
34:22 17 this weekend as long as that one is a
34:24 home run off of Garrett Delano."
34:27 >> No dice this time.
34:29 That's the eighth hit by pitch thrown by
34:31 Delano this season.
34:33 He just let you know he's there.
34:37 Now Taylor Justice.
34:39 Now in in in Banana Ball in that spot.
34:43 You've now got the force out at third
34:45 base.
34:46 Gives you an easier time left side of
34:48 the infield.
34:51 Maybe not the worst thing in the world
34:52 for Delano. Justice in right.
34:56 KYLE MARTIN WANTS TO SCORE. HE WILL NOT.
34:59 JOHN HOWARD BALBOA, THE DESIGNATED
35:02 FIELDER. THAT'S WHY HE'S DESIGNATED
35:04 RIGHT THERE. GUNS DOWN KYLE MARTIN AND
35:07 THEN SOME.
35:09 Flashed the glove in an elite defensive
35:11 play for the black and pink.
35:12 >> Man, what Big Bow has done over the last
35:15 month has been nothing short of
35:16 incredible. He's got a lot more time as
35:18 a designated fielder out there in right
35:19 field. He can do trick plays, but he's
35:21 got a cannon out there as well. Speaking
35:24 of really good trick play defenses, why
35:26 don't we look at the best in all of
35:27 Banana Ball here in the Texas
35:28 Tailgaters? It's pretty much the same as
35:31 it always is besides Jason Hart back in
35:33 the starting lineup tonight. He's going
35:35 to be out left. Zack Watson will be in
35:37 right. You see there on the corners
35:39 [music] Justice Barth up the middle. The
35:41 two guys that still lead Banana Ball in
35:43 trick plays. Your leader in [music]
35:44 sunshine and your captain Jordan Hussey
35:46 in at short stop. Taj Porter behind the
35:48 dish and he's catching our good friend
35:51 with nine trick plays this year as a
35:53 pitcher, Stank Stank, Brett Sanchez. As
35:57 we mentioned from Slidell, Louisiana.
36:01 354 days ago made his Banana Ball debut
36:03 against the Party Animals where he threw
36:05 four innings and earned what is now the
36:07 final win in the history of the
36:10 visitors. 46 strike outs third best this
36:12 year. He also has the third most trick
36:14 plays induced.
36:17 >> Yeah, he's pretty good, Brett. And he's
36:20 one of two truly elite starters the
36:23 Tailgaters have found so far 2026. He'll
36:25 have to face an elite lineup though.
36:26 Starting with the MVP, Jake Skull is in
36:29 the one hole. He'll lead it off tonight
36:32 for the Animals, and moving to the two
36:33 spot is Jason Swan. One of the reasons
36:35 why, 463 OBP, and he's only struck out
36:39 seven times in 121 plate appearances.
36:42 The goal is, even if Skull and Swan get
36:44 out, make Sanchez throw 13, 14 pitches
36:48 through the first two guys that he sees,
36:50 teeing up Andy Cosgrove, the Rookie of
36:51 the Year. And if Andy reaches, Reese
36:53 Hampton is waiting there in the four
36:54 hole.
36:54 >> Talked to coach Anthony Coromato, the
36:56 hitting coach for the Animals for about
36:58 30, 35 minutes today. He said he walked
37:00 into Mike Bavasi's office this morning
37:01 and said, "I got something for you."
37:02 Skull lead off, Jason Swan in the two
37:04 hole for exactly what you just said.
37:06 These guys are going to go up there and
37:07 make the pitcher work, and now you come
37:09 into the bottom of the first one swing
37:11 of the bat walks off the inning for the
37:12 black and pink.
37:13 >> Yeah. I talked about it with you just
37:15 mentioned Mike Bavasi, Anthony Coromato.
37:17 In in discussions about how to draw up
37:19 this lineup, talking about how Jason
37:22 Swan one hole, two holes as a lead off.
37:25 One of the big things Bavasi gave was,
37:26 "Man, he's just so sneaky in the middle
37:28 of the lineup." He
37:30 All of a sudden, you find Jason Swan
37:31 there as hello world cup.
37:35 Trick pitch on the way. Brett Sanchez
37:38 fires high and out.
37:40 >> [laughter]
37:41 >> He just kicked it back off the mound.
37:43 >> Yeah, all right.
37:45 I was told in Savannah, Georgia that is
37:47 $400 soccer ball.
37:49 >> 420.
37:50 >> But in Morgantown, West Virginia, it's
37:52 325.
37:53 >> That's a steal.
37:54 >> Sunshine called the general manager of
37:57 the store that the Dick's Sporting Goods
37:59 in Morgantown, West Virginia, and said,
38:01 "Hey, man, it was $420. Can you give it
38:04 to me for a better price?" He said 325.
38:06 They said sold, walked over there,
38:08 Ubered it back to our hotel in
38:09 Morgantown.
38:11 >> Skull
38:12 >> This is exactly why you do it.
38:15 Fighting off pitches.
38:18 Quality AB in route.
38:22 No fan caught foul ball, he stays safe.
38:25 And the count remains at twos.
38:30 Taj Porter, former Party Animal, says,
38:32 "Hey, I like that." Skull said, "No, no,
38:34 no. Pay off."
38:36 And Jake Skull has got HIMSELF A BASE
38:38 HIT.
38:40 Under the diving glove of Jonathan
38:41 Sunshine Leaders, and the Party Animals
38:44 are 90 ft closer to walking off the
38:46 first inning and taking a one point to
38:47 zero lead.
38:48 >> We have seen Sunshine make some
38:49 mind-blowing plays this year, and we
38:51 almost see him make another one, but
38:52 instead, it's our second hit of the
38:55 ballgame, the first for the Party
38:56 Animals. And now it's the man we know
38:58 and love. He's been underrated for way
38:59 too long. It's Jason Swan.
39:02 >> Skull got buried in a hole there pretty
39:03 quick, too. Worked his way back.
39:06 And just out of the diving reach of
39:08 Sunshine at second.
39:10 Swanny
39:12 On the second pitch he gets, trick play
39:13 opportunity IN RIGHT FIELD.
39:15 BACKFLIP! YES! ZACK WATSON!
39:19 >> WHAT A
39:19 >> [screaming]
39:20 >> YEAH! WHOA! BUCKET! AND THEN A COUPLE OF
39:23 THANK-YOUS FROM THE LSU LEGEND. THAT'S
39:25 HIS CLEANEST ONE OF THE YEAR.
39:28 DON'T do it to him, Zack.
39:32 >> On the fly out of Swan, here comes the
39:34 Rookie of the Year, Andy Cosgrove.
39:36 Kirkland, Washington kid, Cos has three
39:38 home runs on his campaign. All three of
39:40 those came in one game in Tacoma.
39:45 His hometown weekend.
39:47 >> That was his first time playing there
39:48 since high school.
39:50 >> It's like in 10 years.
39:55 Sanchez
39:56 That's off of Cosgrove's hand.
39:59 >> But did it make contact with the bat? I
40:01 believe it did.
40:02 >> from
40:03 that Hunter Ives answers pretty quickly
40:05 to the home plate umpire and says,
40:06 "Absolutely. Foul ball."
40:09 The replay.
40:11 >> Yeah, we were just a little
40:13 >> scraped the pinky, but got a A of bat
40:15 there, that's for sure. Much more bat
40:17 than correct.
40:20 Those can sting.
40:23 Cos takes high.
40:33 Skull dances off of first for the
40:35 catcher Andy Cosgrove. He's got 22 RBI
40:37 this season. Number 23 would walk the
40:39 inning off.
40:42 I love seeing this change that Cos has
40:43 made to his batting stance. Talk about
40:45 how great Cormano is. He is hitting a
40:47 lot lower this year. That ball just hit
40:48 off of a 1997 Ford F-150.
40:52 South Carolina plates. Not again.
40:54 Hold on. Hold on. THE WHOLE BED OF THE
40:57 TRUCK.
40:58 >> [laughter]
40:58 >> SAME THING. HE GOT THE SAME TRUCK TWICE.
41:02 Paint's just a little bit more faded
41:04 now.
41:05 Get that thing out of the parking lot,
41:06 man. That bright red. Sunburnt. He's
41:08 just asking for that. The ball is
41:10 hunting that thing. Red devil red, IF
41:13 YOU WILL.
41:14 PAYOFF. BALL, ANDY COSGROVE. IT'S NOT
41:16 EVEN CLOSE. THAT BALL IS SO GONE. AND
41:20 THE FIRST INNING IS SO WALKED OFF. COS.
41:25 GOES 450.
41:27 OFF YOUR FACE. AND THE PARTY ANIMALS
41:30 LEAD IT 1.2 - 0.
41:33 >> [cheering]
41:34 >> WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT TRUCKS AND
41:35 STUFF?
41:37 ANDY COSGROVE SAID TO HELL WITH THAT.
41:39 WATCH THIS.
41:45 He will jump on home plate.
41:48 With a guitar and hit. Don't do it.
41:49 DON'T DO IT. HE DID IT. GUITAR SMASH IN
41:53 NASH.
41:55 >> [cheering]
42:00 >> Did he know it? Did he know it? He knew
42:01 it. He knew it. He knew it.
42:05 You know who else knew it? When they hit
42:07 IT LAST WEEKEND, MY JULY JASON HART, WHO
42:09 NOW stands with our very own Matty Ward.
42:12 >> Hey guys, Jason is getting ready for an
42:14 at bat actually, but
42:16 he hits home runs, he hosts, and he
42:18 releases hits. And I want to talk about
42:20 the releasing hits portion. You got to
42:22 play here in Nashville last night. One,
42:24 how was that? Two, how hard was it to
42:26 not look at your teammates right in the
42:27 front row?
42:28 >> Well, they always try and make me laugh,
42:30 and I don't know about you guys, but if
42:32 you're in the middle of singing a chorus
42:33 and your best friends make you laugh,
42:35 it makes it a little difficult. But,
42:37 yeah, yeah, it's awesome. It's always
42:38 good playing on the road when
42:39 everybody's here, and the guys getting
42:41 to come out is awesome.
42:42 >> Now, really quick really quick, you had
42:43 a massive home run last weekend, which
42:45 ended up being the deciding factor in
42:47 the game. How you feeling going into
42:48 today's game?
42:49 >> I'm feeling good. I'm ready to
42:51 see a ball off the barrel and hit one
42:52 hard somewhere.
42:53 >> There you go. He's ready to see it,
42:55 guys.
42:55 >> So, last night
42:57 Jason is correct. I was front row right
42:59 in front of the stage at Category 10,
43:02 Drake White. And I seen a little crevice
43:04 of my July's lip just ever so slightly
43:07 slip up. He wanted to smile, but he
43:09 didn't. He was He was confident the bro.
43:10 And I'll tell you this, I don't know if
43:11 it was the the acoustics in Category 10
43:14 or what it was. That was the single best
43:16 I've I've heard Jason Aldean a lot,
43:17 probably more than just about any other
43:18 human on this earth. That was the single
43:20 best I've ever heard him last night. He
43:21 was incredible last night, just as he
43:22 was in Morgantown last week.
43:24 >> I thought his pop-up concert in Baton
43:27 Rouge, Louisiana at Fred's
43:29 one of my favorite scenes in Banana Ball
43:32 ever, 2025.
43:34 Heck, even had you dance on tables.
43:36 >> Man, you know what?
43:38 When Drake White goes and says, "I need
43:39 my July.
43:41 You're going to play my July?" This is
43:42 what happens.
43:43 >> You speak, people listen. People do
43:45 things, Drake. That's what they say.
43:47 >> Jason Aldean was right there to deliver
43:48 my July that night.
43:51 >> When Papa Loftus asks for things, you
43:53 deliver.
43:55 >> You are referencing yourself in third
43:56 person, correct?
43:57 >> No, I'm I'm referring to quite literally
43:59 my father.
43:59 >> Brandon Loftus.
44:00 >> Papa Loftus, yeah.
44:01 >> Sent me a message today. Good people.
44:03 [cheering] Good people. It's one of the
44:05 cool parts about being back in the
44:06 broadcast booth with you, getting this
44:07 duo back together. As much time as we
44:09 spent on that 2025 tour with each other.
44:12 Never roommates.
44:13 >> No, we weren't.
44:14 >> One time.
44:15 >> When?
44:15 >> In Arkansas.
44:17 >> We were roommates that weekend.
44:19 >> No, no. I roomed with Clayton Franklin
44:21 in Arkansas.
44:21 >> No, you're not.
44:23 We were roommates in Arkansas. We
44:25 watched the Little League We watched the
44:26 Little League World Series together.
44:28 >> Dog,
44:28 >> This is so real.
44:29 >> I ain't see ding from the Little from
44:31 the Little League World Series guys.
44:33 >> a 16-minute podcast at 4:48 in the
44:36 afternoon.
44:37 We were roommates.
44:39 >> I We got to go back in the annals of
44:41 Banana Ball history for that one.
44:42 >> I'm telling you. And then in St. Paul,
44:44 Minnesota, you snuck into my room to
44:45 record a podcast at 1:30 in the
44:47 afternoon.
44:48 >> I did on a Sunday. Day game so it was a
44:50 It was a day we had off day.
44:51 >> Yep.
44:52 >> In Minnesota, and I went to Wisconsin
44:54 that night for beer.
44:55 >> I did not.
44:56 >> You didn't? Jason Arnt trying to keep
44:58 the hot streak alive.
45:01 And then this year,
45:03 only seeing you you guys back in second.
45:05 Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. The Canes The
45:07 Party Animals have 11 fielders now.
45:09 What's happening? This can't be legal.
45:12 Garrett Delano has climbed on TOP OF
45:15 DREW GULAK AND SHAWN FLOOD, AND FIRES A
45:18 BALL high and outside.
45:19 >> That's got to be about the the the thing
45:21 they put on social media last week.
45:22 >> That fails on every level.
45:27 >> That guy's getting more whimsical.
45:29 You know Delano had a 2-2 last week?
45:33 It was just church clap.
45:35 >> Oh, I watched it.
45:35 >> But But hey, look.
45:37 >> You said he gets one of those a year, is
45:38 that
45:38 >> That's better He gets one 2-2, second
45:41 batter, second pitch, little dancy dance
45:43 every year, and Garrett Delano burned it
45:44 on church clap.
45:47 You know, that that conglomerate of
45:49 those three guys, Jason Arnt, RIP LEFT
45:52 SIDE, extra bases. THAT KID'S STAYING
45:54 HOT, MAN.
45:56 Arnt parks it at second base, a stand-up
45:58 double, and he's forcing himself into
46:00 this lineup.
46:01 >> He is. I mean, in a lineup where Jose
46:03 Gonzalez has five home runs this year,
46:06 is not starting tonight because of how
46:08 well this guy's playing, Jason Arp. And
46:10 I said it last week, Drake, he is an
46:12 entertainment player.
46:13 >> Yep.
46:14 >> He He's not on a player contract the way
46:15 like Mac Canford is or Garrett Lile.
46:17 He's an entertainment player forcing his
46:19 way in the lineup because of how good
46:20 he's been playing.
46:20 >> He was not a typical franchise. He was
46:22 not drafted through going forward.
46:24 >> Guys like Jake Viallios for the Party
46:26 Animals, John Howard Bobo for the Party
46:27 Animals.
46:27 >> Mark Smith.
46:29 >> Jason Arp is in that category and we've
46:31 seen
46:32 John Howard Bobo, Mark Smith,
46:35 Jason Arp.
46:37 They just They showed their value in the
46:38 sport. So, when
46:40 the powers that be met and said, "Hey,
46:42 this guy wasn't drafted. We can't lose
46:44 him in Banana Ball." Jason Arp was one
46:45 of those guys.
46:50 Each team has one or two of those.
46:52 >> Three.
46:53 >> The Bananas have like seven.
46:55 >> Well, this team
46:56 >> And seven coaches as well.
46:59 >> [laughter]
47:01 >> There's three buses that go to every
47:02 game.
47:03 One's the Bananas team, the other is
47:05 their opponent, the third is the Bananas
47:07 coaching staff.
47:09 And they're doubled up in every seat.
47:12 >> That's a big charter bus.
47:13 >> Every week they add a new one, too.
47:15 Until the bit ends.
47:21 Roll over it. A CUP TO THIRD AND GET THE
47:24 LEAD RUNNER.
47:26 >> [cheering]
47:27 >> SAVVY DEFENSE FROM CHOSEN. Arp is out.
47:31 Lead runner back to the dugout.
47:33 >> And you can take the duality of it and
47:35 say, "Well, Chosen could have done a
47:36 trick play there and got the out at
47:37 first, but a runner now stands 90 ft
47:39 away with the one out." Instead, he goes
47:41 to third, no trick play, but now with
47:43 one out, you have a double play set up
47:45 with a man on first and could be an
47:47 inning-ending double play as well.
47:49 >> one of the smartest, most cerebral
47:51 fielders in the sport.
47:53 >> As Todd Porter comes to play.
47:56 >> I got another one for you, too.
47:57 >> We can talk about Chase and Chase A.
47:59 Cuff about who he is as a ball player
48:00 all the time. He spent 45 minutes with
48:02 us in the booth today on his own accord
48:04 just talking the sport of baseball. He
48:05 is one of
48:06 >> Got a whole case of energy drinks in
48:07 here.
48:08 >> He did. He's one of my favorite humans
48:10 in this organization.
48:11 And then he does stuff like that,
48:13 >> Right.
48:14 >> Walked in today, saw him in the
48:15 broadcast. What were you doing up here?
48:17 >> I just saw you guys out. Want to sit
48:18 down and talk, say hello.
48:21 >> [cheering]
48:25 >> Dodge quarter into the parking lot. That
48:27 was about 3:00 today, which
48:29 coincidentally
48:30 >> 3:00 time you arrived.
48:31 >> 3:04 is the time I got to the ballpark.
48:33 >> Greg's been here for 8 minutes, guys.
48:35 >> We'll tell that story at some point
48:36 tonight.
48:37 >> Who knew the TSA COULD CLOSE?
48:41 >> PORTER TO SWAN, DOUBLE PLAY BALL. IT'D
48:43 BE IMPRESSIVE IF THEY DO IT.
48:45 There is one. That's the only one for
48:47 the Party Animals. It does count
48:49 as an out at second base, no trick play.
48:52 >> But Swan goes behind the back, yep.
48:54 >> One trick play and then on the transfer
48:56 A. Cuff loses it. So now an out at
48:58 second base, the trick play added for
48:59 the Animals who are trying to keep the
49:00 Tailgaters at bay in that equalizer
49:02 form.
49:02 >> And I know they don't get it right
49:03 there, but that's exactly what Chase A.
49:05 Cuff set up. He set up that double play
49:07 ball, was able to get it right there.
49:08 Now you have a man on first with just
49:10 two outs. By the way, Jacob Pepper sick,
49:12 Tailgaters designated runner on the
49:13 first.
49:15 >> This is a smart place to use him as well
49:16 as the lead-off.
49:18 >> Almost got him on the pick-off.
49:22 Ooh, triple sevens. Be careful, Pepper
49:24 sick.
49:25 That Eathless.
49:31 >> Ball high and out.
49:32 >> Pipp second in the league in stolen
49:33 bases.
49:34 >> You can use him one time through the
49:35 order. And you're at your nine hole
49:37 right now in the Stanley. Now's Now's
49:39 the time to use Pepper sick.
49:40 >> And obviously in place of Tosh, he'll go
49:42 back in the dugout, put all the
49:43 catcher's gear back on.
49:45 >> That's from Crease foul.
49:47 >> I got Yard Card on Indy tonight.
49:49 >> Did you know five of of six home runs he
49:51 has hit as a Texas Tailgater have come
49:53 against the Party Animals.
49:54 >> He loves to bang against the black and
49:55 pink.
49:56 >> His former team, Stanley, was a visitor
49:57 turned Party Animal turned Texas
49:59 Tailgater.
50:01 >> And was a CPL Banana as well.
50:02 >> And a Banana.
50:08 Indy.
50:11 >> Played some college ball Columbia
50:12 College. 2022 is a CPL Savannah Banana.
50:16 >> Worked his way back into sport of Banana
50:17 Ball.
50:20 Another one of those guys the
50:21 organizations have we we just we have to
50:22 have him somewhere here.
50:28 >> Delaney was barking at Pippersicoff
50:30 first.
50:33 Boom, HE PICKED HIM OFF.
50:35 HE TOLD HIM HE WAS GOING TO DO IT AND
50:37 THEN HE DID IT.
50:38 GARRETT DELANEY, YOU ARE A MAD MAN. AND
50:40 I WAS STANDING AT FIRST BASE TO MEET
50:42 HIM.
50:43 Ho ho ho.
50:45 Delaney dared him.
50:47 And triple sevens wins this battle. He
50:49 was the defense of the Party Animals
50:51 holding the Texas Tailgaters at bay in
50:53 the top of the second.
50:56 >> [cheering]
50:57 >> That's some Sean Blue kind of stuff
50:59 coming out of Garrett Delaney right
51:00 there.
51:01 >> You don't see that kind of what should I
51:03 say? Showmanship.
51:04 >> I might have seen
51:05 >> Garrett Delaney too much. You also don't
51:07 see ball parks as pretty as this.
51:09 >> Goodness, man. It rained almost all day.
51:11 See, I wouldn't know. I showed up at
51:12 3:00, but the weather app told me it
51:14 rained almost all day here at First
51:15 Horizon Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
51:17 And the sun has come out now a bit
51:20 behind us and set a beautiful scene on
51:22 the buildings out in right field. And
51:25 wow, Brett. It again, I was thinking
51:28 about it in the middle of that inning.
51:28 It's a shame that one of these two teams
51:30 has to lose in this game cuz both of
51:33 these squads have so much respect for
51:34 each other. Two veteran league teams of
51:36 Banana Ball and the rookies of the Texas
51:38 Tailgaters are tried and true
51:40 professionals.
51:41 >> Yeah, man. And this ball park is just
51:42 exceptional. I think the most special
51:44 part about it, this ball park was built
51:47 in in 2015, but this field itself has
51:50 been around for almost 150 years. How
51:52 cool is this? Nashville is the only city
51:55 outside of Savannah, the host city of
51:57 course, the host of the Savannah Bananas
51:58 for 4 years in a row. The first 2 years
52:01 here at this ball park, First Horizon
52:02 Park. Last year just right down the road
52:05 at Nissan Stadium, and then back here at
52:07 First Horizon Park this year.
52:10 Here comes Reese Hampton.
52:12 Reeser will take strike one from Brett
52:14 Sanchez as he's back out for a second
52:16 inning of work.
52:17 Inning one ended off with a home run
52:19 from Andy Cosgrove that walked things
52:21 off as
52:22 Zack Watson and Indy Stanley converge
52:25 but cannot get to a single
52:27 off the bat of Reeser.
52:33 Yeah, Reeser man, I mean just able to
52:34 find grass. That's the biggest thing and
52:36 then hand it off to this dude, T.J.
52:38 Reeves. Dude, what he's BEEN DOING IS
52:40 CRAZY. AND HE'S A DAY TWO DRAFT PICK.
52:42 >> I WANT TO TAKE you I want to take you
52:44 through one through seven in this lineup
52:46 tonight for the Party Animals. Skull,
52:48 Swan, Cosgrove, Hampton, Reeves, a
52:51 Rookie of the Year candidate, followed
52:53 by Acuff, one of the toughest guys to
52:54 strike out here.
52:56 And then Tanner Tinder Thomas, who's
52:58 blowing you away in 2026. One through
53:00 seven is deadly. Now, in the eight hole,
53:03 Bryson Bloomer, he's a guy still trying
53:04 to catch on. The second he does, this
53:06 lineup gets deeper and deeper and
53:08 deeper.
53:11 >> I just love stories like T.J. Reeves.
53:13 >> I looked at you in your house
53:15 >> 4 days before the draft.
53:16 >> Yep. And said
53:17 >> You guys are going to take T.J. Reeves.
53:18 He's going to be a star next year.
53:19 >> Yep.
53:19 >> And I'm so excited that we were all
53:22 right sitting in THAT ROOM.
53:23 >> RIGHT THERE THOUGH, WE GET A LITTLE
53:24 THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. THE
53:27 FIRST OF THE BALL GAME for Steak Steak.
53:30 Brett Sanchez throwing THAT BIG OLD
53:33 SLIDER.
53:34 >> OH.
53:35 >> AND T.J. goes fishing for out number
53:36 one.
53:36 >> At 63 miles an hour, just lay it out
53:41 there. And Reeves as a hitter, that's a
53:43 beach ball until it's in the other
53:45 batter's box and you've already swung.
53:49 >> Brett Sanchez has learned banana ball so
53:50 quickly. He pitches a lot like Brett
53:52 Helton but with better strikeout stuff.
53:55 >> So, where Helton has the the stamina,
53:57 Sanchez has the the junk.
53:59 >> Sanchez also has the stamina. Had three
54:02 games in college, complete games,
54:05 that went 10 innings or longer where he
54:07 threw 150 pitches in each of those.
54:08 >> When he gets there in banana ball,
54:10 >> Oh, that's going to be dangerous.
54:11 >> 100%.
54:14 >> Thing is, he doesn't need to.
54:16 Chase Jacob,
54:18 high into center field. Indy Stanley
54:21 underneath it. Stanley pops it up, trick
54:23 play.
54:26 >> Funny enough,
54:27 bucket, obviously.
54:29 >> Chase Jacob and I were talking about the
54:30 tip drill earlier today.
54:32 >> Yeah.
54:32 >> And about how you could explore
54:34 obviously the double tip drill. Indiana
54:36 Stanley just tips it to himself. Tanner
54:38 Thomas, where are you?
54:40 Hoho!
54:41 He's digging his key into the side
54:43 of a four-but
54:45 interesting looking four-wheel drive.
54:56 Well,
54:56 looks like he'd already gotten those
54:57 headlights pretty good there, Tibow.
55:08 >> [laughter]
55:09 >> SOMEONE IS VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE TANNER
55:13 THOMAS.
55:15 OH MY GOODNESS. [laughter]
55:18 Somebody was really impressed by that
55:20 transition.
55:29 Well,
55:31 that that's that's a fiver in the jar.
55:33 >> I'm glad we're at Church TV tomorrow
55:35 night.
55:35 >> That's a fiver in the jar.
55:38 >> We were all thinking it. We were all
55:40 thinking it.
55:46 T-bone.
55:50 Looks good doing it.
55:57 I'd like to know if our if [music] if
55:59 that went out live over the air, cuz you
56:00 and I got a naughty word now ears.
56:02 >> And it it was it was very clear.
56:04 >> It was clear as day. That naughty word
56:06 was
56:07 >> Oh,
56:08 shoot.
56:10 >> Here we go again.
56:12 Tanner Thomas, six home runs is tied for
56:15 fourth in the Banana Ball Championship
56:17 League this season.
56:20 He walked to the plate to damn near the
56:21 entire song. That's the longest walk-up
56:24 I think we've seen this year.
56:34 >> [cheering]
56:35 >> Say hello if you're just joining us from
56:37 the Loco Beach Coconuts versus the
56:39 Firefighters tonight. Drake Toll
56:41 alongside Brett Loftis, back together
56:43 again. Party Animals lead the Texas
56:45 Tailgaters 1.0
56:47 after an Andy Cosgrove home run back in
56:49 the first walk the inning off.
56:52 >> Good news by the way in the chat.
56:54 They're saying they did not hear it.
56:55 >> Oh my goodness.
56:58 It had some
56:59 >> oomph to it.
57:00 >> Some gumption. That's correct.
57:05 >> It had some momentum.
57:07 >> Yep.
57:07 >> If you will.
57:09 >> Annunciation.
57:10 >> Yes.
57:14 >> Always appreciate these games. You know,
57:16 it's an honor to be on national
57:17 television each weekend, but to get to
57:19 talk to the YouTube audience, to see the
57:21 chat.
57:22 Tanner Thomas got him looking. He
57:24 thought it was outside.
57:25 >> Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for the
57:28 second time in the frame. Stank stank
57:31 gets a backwards K and hangs up his
57:34 first zero of the ball game. You can't
57:36 tell.
57:41 Sanchez, couple K's in his second
57:44 inning. We go to the third tied up and
57:45 John Howard Bobo
57:47 not just great defensively.
57:50 >> Give him a microphone.
57:51 >> Absolutely, designated fielder tonight
57:52 in right field. Last night
57:54 24 hours ago, over a tin roof with Party
57:58 Down John Howard Bobo showing off
58:00 >> pipes.
58:00 >> It was so much fun, man. Party Down was
58:02 on for about an hour, hour and a half,
58:04 and then Big Bo came out, shut the place
58:05 down. Well, not literally, they were
58:07 open until 2:30. Janelle and Party Down
58:09 went back up, but Big Bo, man,
58:11 absolutely incredible performance.
58:14 >> I see Chad Reeves.
58:15 >> Party Animals team was there.
58:17 >> Yeah, I see Mark Smith, all of his guys
58:18 supporting him, and now he's miked up in
58:20 right field. Big Bo, dog.
58:22 >> Absolutely.
58:24 >> What's going on, y'all?
58:25 >> Your life in the last 365 days, how has
58:28 it changed?
58:29 >> I mean, it's unbelievable. This is
58:30 everything I've ever wanted, and you
58:31 know, it's uh it's kind of funny. I told
58:33 my parents when I was growing up, my
58:35 biggest fear was not being famous.
58:37 So, I guess it worked out. Here we are.
58:40 I was working in the funeral business
58:42 less than a year ago, and
58:43 >> In the what?
58:44 >> in the funeral business. My dad was an
58:46 embalmer, so I would dress the bodies,
58:47 set up for funerals, and
58:49 now my life is this, so
58:52 >> help me out. On the one side there are
58:54 the dead bodies, on the other side there
58:55 are 10,000 live ones right here in First
58:59 Horizon Park. Which are more fun to deal
59:01 with?
59:02 >> Definitely these ones. The other ones
59:03 not too talkative, not a lot of
59:05 conversations out of them, so I would
59:07 definitely say the fans out here are
59:09 unbelievable.
59:09 >> Did you try any of your music ever on
59:10 those?
59:12 >> Uh
59:13 no, they never really liked it.
59:14 >> [laughter]
59:15 >> Tough crowd, huh?
59:16 Wow, what a dark way to start here. Uh
59:18 you've become Big Bo a staple of of this
59:21 team defensively in the last month or so
59:23 in that designated fielder spot. When
59:26 you and even back going going back to
59:28 opportunities you got earlier in the
59:29 season,
59:30 when your number has been called, how do
59:32 you turn it on in those moments?
59:36 >> Honestly, make it
59:38 >> catch.
59:39 >> Tanner Thomas.
59:41 >> Double T's in left field.
59:42 >> to that The answer to that question is
59:44 this is the greatest job ever.
59:46 >> Yeah.
59:46 >> You know why? Because I don't have to
59:47 worry about hitting. Hitting is the
59:49 hardest thing in baseball. So, if I can
59:51 just come out here, show off the arm, do
59:53 a little dancey dance when I do my
59:55 thing.
59:55 >> every designated hitter's nightmare.
59:57 They say the exact opposite.
59:59 >> Hey, that's great.
1:00:00 >> Well, I I think the biggest thing is
1:00:01 too, coming to Bananas ball. I mean, you
1:00:03 can rake, but you very much so settled
1:00:06 into your role as designated fielder.
1:00:07 Was that a tough mental switch for you
1:00:09 at all, or like you just like, oh, I got
1:00:11 a good arm, I just want to field?
1:00:12 >> Well, you know what? If you see our
1:00:14 lineup, it's kind of hard to find your
1:00:15 way into it. I'm going to be honest with
1:00:17 you. I'm a young buck, just came out of
1:00:18 college. A lot of these guys got pro
1:00:20 ball experience, so
1:00:21 I'm letting the vets do their things,
1:00:23 like Jake Skole and Ham have been great
1:00:25 to me. They took me under their wing,
1:00:26 showed me how to play the game the right
1:00:27 way, so I'm just grateful I'm even on
1:00:30 the field, to be honest with you guys.
1:00:31 >> You mentioned Skole and Ham. Here comes
1:00:34 Baber, trick play opportunity between
1:00:35 the legs, just in time.
1:00:37 >> Baber's
1:00:38 >> Count it for the Party Animals. Who are
1:00:40 those guys, those those leaders and
1:00:41 veterans of this sport that have helped
1:00:43 bring you into this, not just this this
1:00:45 Bananas Ball Championship League, but
1:00:46 that jersey you're wearing?
1:00:48 >> Well, you know what? I came in not
1:00:50 knowing that I was going to play at all.
1:00:52 I was When I talked about when I got
1:00:54 signed, playing time was not really in
1:00:56 the question. It was more just
1:00:57 entertainment wise, but then I came in
1:00:59 and had a good spring training, as you
1:01:01 guys saw, and
1:01:02 >> [music]
1:01:02 >> Ham and Skole definitely saw that I was
1:01:05 a grinder. I'll run through a wall for
1:01:06 this team, no matter what, so definitely
1:01:09 those two guys have showed me the ropes.
1:01:10 But, this whole team is unbelievable.
1:01:12 Like you said, we were at Tin Roof last
1:01:14 night, and every single I think there
1:01:15 was a couple [music] guys that didn't
1:01:16 come, but they had other things they
1:01:18 were doing, but my whole team was there.
1:01:20 I mean, I've never been on a team that
1:01:22 supports me this way, so
1:01:24 >> I I Bo, I I think something that I've
1:01:26 asked Jason Arnault a lot, too. You
1:01:28 getting to come to a place, continue
1:01:29 your your playing career, but also
1:01:31 getting to incorporate music into that.
1:01:32 Was Was that the biggest selling pitch
1:01:34 for you, or was it like, "Ah, I'm going
1:01:36 here to do music, and if I get to play,
1:01:38 that's that's cherry on top."
1:01:40 >> I've always wanted to be a role model to
1:01:41 kids. So, the music and baseball is
1:01:43 great, but as long as I can put on a a
1:01:45 good show and show these kids how how to
1:01:47 have fun and enjoy life. I mean, that's
1:01:49 all I ever really wanted.
1:01:51 >> Zack Watson at the dish.
1:01:54 >> No, he didn't.
1:01:55 >> Did not go. So, we were talking earlier,
1:01:57 the Party Animals were tired of playing
1:01:59 the Tailgaters last year, just slog
1:02:00 weekend after weekend. You barely seen
1:02:02 these guys.
1:02:03 >> Yeah, and they're good vibes. I was
1:02:04 telling them all in the in the locker
1:02:06 room. I was like, "I miss you guys. I
1:02:07 feel like we haven't played them
1:02:09 in what? Since Vietnam." So, it's been
1:02:11 >> [laughter]
1:02:12 >> It's definitely good to see them, for
1:02:13 sure.
1:02:14 >> The Berlin Wall went down since then.
1:02:16 The whole Reagan administration.
1:02:19 >> War of 1812.
1:02:22 >> These are some cool dudes to be around,
1:02:23 man. The the veterans, even their young
1:02:24 guys, are a great example of what Banana
1:02:26 Ball is.
1:02:27 >> That's right, three? Oh my god.
1:02:28 >> No, he didn't.
1:02:29 It is strike three, absolutely.
1:02:32 Cut down at first base is Zack Watson on
1:02:35 the strikeout, swinging a miss against
1:02:37 Delano, and then bam, tagged the base.
1:02:40 Big Bo, man, excited to see the rest of
1:02:42 this week and get to hang out in
1:02:43 Nashville. Pleasure. Love you, twin.
1:02:46 >> Jersey, ATL life, that's my dogs, man.
1:02:47 Love y'all. Appreciate it.
1:02:50 >> Sending it down to the field to Akili
1:02:51 Lamb.
1:02:53 >> There are over 400,000
1:02:55 children and teens in foster care
1:02:57 without a permanent home. To raise
1:02:59 awareness and support this community, we
1:03:02 created Bananas Foster, the official
1:03:04 non-profit of Banana Ball. Our
1:03:07 organization is dedicated to celebrating
1:03:09 those in the foster care community,
1:03:11 while educating and inspiring others to
1:03:14 get involved. Tonight, we are
1:03:16 celebrating the Newman family. Chris and
1:03:20 Dean began their fostering journey 19
1:03:23 years ago with the goal of supporting
1:03:25 kiddos in their community. On top of her
1:03:28 work as a foster mom, Dean also works to
1:03:31 mentor and recruit prospective foster
1:03:34 parents on their journeys to becoming
1:03:36 licensed foster families. Over the last
1:03:39 19 years, this family has welcomed a
1:03:42 total of 38
1:03:44 children and teens into their home and
1:03:48 adopted five into their family.
1:03:51 Fans, please join us in celebrating this
1:03:54 amazing family for making a difference
1:03:57 right here in your community.
1:04:02 >> [applause]
1:04:14 [applause]
1:04:29 >> It's for the Banana Ball.
1:04:32 And it's see it's it's getting me choked
1:04:34 up to see those two teams
1:04:37 hugging on on a special family to the
1:04:40 Nashville [cheering] area.
1:04:43 Getting their moment.
1:04:45 Speaking of special moments, that's our
1:04:47 goal every game to create a special
1:04:49 moment for a kiddo in our Banana Ball
1:04:51 backstage, and that's exactly what
1:04:53 Maddie Warren did pregame.
1:04:59 >> My name's River, and I'm 6.
1:05:02 I have a question for Jason.
1:05:05 What's the best thing you did in
1:05:06 baseball?
1:05:08 >> Um, one of my favorite things I've ever
1:05:10 done was back in 2022 at Georgia
1:05:12 Southern, we hosted the very first uh
1:05:14 regional at our college and everything.
1:05:16 And my second favorite was definitely
1:05:19 hitting a home run against Roger Clemens
1:05:20 in Astro Stadium.
1:05:25 >> Pretty good stuff, huh? From Jason Swan.
1:05:28 354 wins, a Mount Rushmore pitcher in
1:05:31 the history of Major League Baseball.
1:05:33 I don't care if he was 50, 60, or 20.
1:05:35 You hit a home run off Roger Clemens,
1:05:37 yeah, that'd be up there for me, too.
1:05:40 Off the Crawford box.
1:05:42 You know Roger was still heated about
1:05:43 that last year. We had him in the booth
1:05:45 with us.
1:05:46 Bryson Bloomer.
1:05:48 We had We had the Rocket with us in the
1:05:49 booth last year, Josh Lewsky and I in
1:05:51 Houston. And he said, "Are the Party
1:05:52 Animals here?" I said, "No." He goes,
1:05:54 "Well, I hope to face that Swan guy. I'm
1:05:55 going to let him know how mad I still am
1:05:57 at him."
1:05:58 That was awesome, man.
1:06:01 Roger Clemens, what a spitfire.
1:06:03 >> [cheering]
1:06:04 >> And again, I want to give a lot of
1:06:04 credit to Matty Warren. Trick pitch on
1:06:06 the way.
1:06:08 Where did that miss?
1:06:10 Partner?
1:06:12 I don't know about all that.
1:06:15 This one's on the money. Bloomer into
1:06:17 right.
1:06:18 Watson runs out of room.
1:06:20 Matty Warren edited, filmed that, got it
1:06:23 all prepared, and helped create another
1:06:24 awesome moment.
1:06:27 For a kid to be in a ball backstage.
1:06:31 Count remains 1-2 for Bryson Bloomer,
1:06:33 Coach Bloom.
1:06:35 The captain.
1:06:36 Out of the eight hole from Lexington,
1:06:38 Kentucky.
1:06:47 Talk about working some deep ABs.
1:06:49 >> That's what the Party Animals have done.
1:06:50 >> Look, 1 through 7 has been so hot. And
1:06:53 now Bryson Bloomer in the eight hole,
1:06:54 the second he catches on, and he is
1:06:55 catching on. It's dangerous, dog. Swing
1:06:58 and a miss here, though.
1:06:59 AH, GOT A PIECE OF IT.
1:07:02 He's working this count. That's exactly
1:07:04 what you want from Bryson Bloomer, who
1:07:05 told me he's feeling more and more
1:07:06 comfortable.
1:07:13 Bloomer, another foul ball.
1:07:15 And the piece of this bread is Bloomer
1:07:17 has not been an everyday starter in this
1:07:18 lineup in 2026 just by virtue of how
1:07:21 great the Party Animals have built these
1:07:23 batters. There are 12, 13 guys to go
1:07:25 They go that deep.
1:07:26 >> I think it's how well they drafted, too.
1:07:28 You got to give Bubba a lot of credit
1:07:29 for
1:07:30 >> Ballard and Reeves.
1:07:30 >> Mikey Ballard and TJ Reeves. I mean, two
1:07:33 guys that
1:07:35 >> My goodness.
1:07:36 >> Not a lot of people had a whole lot of
1:07:38 DJ played three games as an Animal in
1:07:39 '23 and Mikey Ballard were just college
1:07:42 teammates with Chase Acker and they've
1:07:43 come in here and been staples of this
1:07:45 lineup.
1:07:45 >> Approaching double-digit pitches in the
1:07:48 AB. And that AB becomes a PA. That's
1:07:51 plate appearance and a ball four sprint
1:07:53 for Bryson Bloomer. It's the first ball
1:07:55 four sprint given out by Sanchez today
1:07:56 and Sanchez didn't throw that. Bloomer
1:07:59 worked it.
1:08:05 Baber.
1:08:06 >> Baber.
1:08:07 >> So, it's Bloomer and Baber out of the
1:08:08 eight and nine spots
1:08:10 that have been
1:08:11 game one starter,
1:08:13 game two, they're in support.
1:08:16 Game three is kind of the ebb and flow.
1:08:17 Tough to get into a groove doing that.
1:08:19 >> Indiana Stanley has a shot to center
1:08:21 field.
1:08:23 Almost mistimed. Comes in no trick play.
1:08:27 With Kance Baber, he's the first out
1:08:29 here in the third.
1:08:30 >> I got to tell you what, man, the wind is
1:08:32 blowing very much so in. It was blowing
1:08:34 way out earlier today during some of
1:08:36 those storms. It's blowing in now.
1:08:38 So, that ball just get knocked down.
1:08:40 Speaking of Mikey Ballard, there he is.
1:08:41 >> Yep.
1:08:43 And you talk TJ Reeves Rookie of the
1:08:46 Year conversation, Ballard is not far
1:08:49 out of out of those talks.
1:08:52 >> Yeah, he hit 340 this year.
1:08:53 >> Yep.
1:08:53 >> In the 10 hole.
1:08:55 That's unheard of. Now, they moved the
1:08:57 10 hole last weekend, too. So, they
1:08:59 Really, Bubba has been experimenting
1:09:00 with this lineup the last month or so.
1:09:02 >> Talk about rookie of the year
1:09:03 conversations. Kyle Martin is a rookie.
1:09:05 >> Jackie Bradley Jr. is a rookie.
1:09:06 >> Well, therein lies the problem. We need
1:09:08 nine rookies of the year.
1:09:12 Brett Sanchez, a rookie.
1:09:13 >> Yeah.
1:09:15 >> It's a great quote for you. Jackie
1:09:16 Bradley Jr. is a rookie.
1:09:18 >> That's true. 36 years old, but a rookie
1:09:21 in Bananaland.
1:09:21 >> Yep.
1:09:23 Chris Clark.
1:09:27 >> Back pick from Porter.
1:09:29 Cannot get the designated runner, Mark
1:09:30 Smith.
1:09:33 >> Yeah, that that conversation, Nick
1:09:34 Wilson, that conversation's going to be
1:09:35 a tough guy.
1:09:40 >> Ballard behind the dish. Taj Porter
1:09:43 watches it fly into the stands and fans
1:09:45 can't come up with it.
1:09:48 >> Chris Clark, also a rookie.
1:09:50 >> I mean, we could go down the list of
1:09:51 guys and how well a lot of these teams
1:09:53 drafted up and down throughout the
1:09:55 draft.
1:09:55 >> to stop playing this game. We're going
1:09:56 to keep going all night.
1:09:57 >> McDaniel Allen.
1:09:58 >> We played this in our group chat the
1:09:59 other day.
1:09:59 >> Another rookie.
1:10:00 >> Yeah, we did. It took us 2 and 1/2
1:10:01 hours.
1:10:02 >> Another long AB. 2-2.
1:10:05 The 10-hole Ballard.
1:10:08 Sanchez approaches 50 pitches.
1:10:10 Another foul ball.
1:10:12 >> Brett Law, we're losing banana balls
1:10:13 left and right.
1:10:14 >> Yeah. Just donate them to the good
1:10:16 people here of Nashville, Tennessee.
1:10:18 >> And that one Ford F-150.
1:10:19 >> Yeah.
1:10:21 Has no more paint left on top.
1:10:24 >> Ballard.
1:10:26 Well struck. Not well enough. INDY
1:10:28 STANLEY, DIVING CATCH. CAN HE MAKE THE
1:10:30 PLAY? NO.
1:10:32 BRETT, SOME FUNKY STUFF'S GOING on in
1:10:34 the outfield right now. I think that's a
1:10:36 single for Mikey Ballard. And you see
1:10:38 Indy Stanley, two of them.
1:10:40 Two fly balls have tricked him.
1:10:43 He was able to get to the last one, but
1:10:44 this falls idle.
1:10:46 And that that's Zach Watson's ball all
1:10:49 day. I'm not sure what's going on, the
1:10:50 miscommunication there.
1:10:51 >> I don't know if they're they're losing
1:10:52 the line to the wind or what's going on.
1:10:55 >> But it will officially go down, yes, as
1:10:56 a single.
1:10:57 Skull into right.
1:10:59 Stanley over for this one this time.
1:11:01 It's Watson that wants it.
1:11:03 Mark Smith tags up flies in the third
1:11:06 base standing up and on the corners with
1:11:08 two down.
1:11:12 What is still in right field two by the
1:11:13 way. Jason Ark got the start tonight.
1:11:16 You'd expect Jose Bradley Gonzalez to
1:11:18 come in at some point but what he's in
1:11:20 right just the third time we've ever
1:11:21 seen him in right in his Tailgater
1:11:22 career. Jason Ark still in left. Jason
1:11:24 Swann an opportunity to walk off this
1:11:26 inning.
1:11:32 Swanny
1:11:35 Take high and it's 1-1.
1:11:38 Flew out his first time up.
1:11:42 He'd grab an RBI to walk off here.
1:11:54 Swann's got double strikes on him.
1:11:56 Just seven K's in 122 plate appearances
1:11:59 in 2026.
1:12:03 MAKE IT EIGHT.
1:12:05 THANK YOU. SANCHEZ NEEDED IT.
1:12:07 >> THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THAT DUDE DOESN'T
1:12:10 STRIKE OUT BUT STANK STANK JUST GOT IT.
1:12:13 THAT'S INCREDIBLE STUFF. JUST THREW HIM
1:12:16 A BIG OLD HANGER and Swanny just barely
1:12:19 missed it for out number three.
1:12:22 >> Frustration from Swann the game stays
1:12:24 1-0 as we go down to the field.
1:12:27 >> finish and we've got three contestants
1:12:29 here who are hoping to end on a high
1:12:32 note because this is not just any sing
1:12:35 off. All three contestants have chosen
1:12:37 songs with notoriously difficult high
1:12:40 notes and whichever contestant can hit
1:12:43 and hold that high note the longest and
1:12:46 the BEST AS VOTED ON BY you the fans in
1:12:50 Music City will win and on a high note.
1:12:54 First, we've got coach Eric. Shout out
1:12:57 to your Little League team who's here
1:12:58 tonight. What are you going to be
1:12:59 singing tonight?
1:13:00 >> Take on me by a-ha.
1:13:02 >> All right, the floor is yours.
1:13:10 >> [screaming]
1:13:19 [cheering]
1:13:20 >> Wow, way to go.
1:13:22 Way to go.
1:13:23 All right, we've got Trent here. Trent,
1:13:25 what song have you chosen?
1:13:26 >> Bang Bang.
1:13:28 >> Let her rip.
1:13:47 You know you gave it your best. You gave
1:13:49 it your best. Last but not least, we
1:13:50 have Claudia. Claudia, what will you be
1:13:52 singing?
1:13:53 >> Dream on by Aerosmith.
1:13:55 >> Okay, here we go.
1:14:05 >> [singing]
1:14:14 [cheering]
1:14:18 >> Unbelievable, but Nashville, the choice
1:14:20 is yours. IS TONIGHT'S WINNER COACH
1:14:24 ERIC?
1:14:25 >> [cheering]
1:14:27 [applause]
1:14:27 >> IS IT TRENT?
1:14:31 OR IS IT CLAUDIA?
1:14:33 >> [cheering]
1:14:33 >> CLAUDIA,
1:14:34 YOU HAVE BATTED
1:14:35 ON
1:14:36 A HIGH NOTE.
1:14:39 >> WOO, way to go the Tailgaters. Number
1:14:41 nine,
1:14:43 Mick Lopez.
1:14:46 >> Well, Steven Tyler bring us back to the
1:14:48 top of the fourth inning? Nick Lopez to
1:14:51 play.
1:14:54 Now, he's been watching the College
1:14:55 World Series this week. North Carolina
1:14:57 will meet Oklahoma in the finals out in
1:14:59 Omaha.
1:15:01 Lopi played the College World Series
1:15:02 himself at the University of Kentucky.
1:15:05 >> First ever run batted in in the history
1:15:07 of Kentucky's College World Series, his
1:15:09 first ever appearance. Got an RBI single
1:15:11 in the first frame there.
1:15:13 I love seeing that pop up on my on my
1:15:15 timeline. That was uh
1:15:19 >> Lopi also had one of the worst called
1:15:22 strike
1:15:24 called strike three call outs, I should
1:15:25 say, against them I've ever seen in my
1:15:26 life.
1:15:27 >> Yeah, he's still salty about that, too,
1:15:28 Boss.
1:15:30 >> As he should be.
1:15:33 >> Swing and a miss.
1:15:36 Nick Lopez
1:15:38 Now, consecutive strike outs for Delaino
1:15:40 dating back to the third inning. After
1:15:42 he cut down the one hole, Zack Watson.
1:15:45 Now, he's getting funky with it.
1:15:47 >> The hottest offense in the sport meets
1:15:50 one of the hottest pitchers since the
1:15:52 Banana Ball opened, and so far it's been
1:15:53 all the lineup through three and a
1:15:54 third. Only giving up two hits this far.
1:15:56 >> Six strike outs combined between these
1:15:58 two teams, Brett.
1:16:00 Through
1:16:01 three complete innings.
1:16:02 >> Came here looking for a pitcher's duel.
1:16:04 This is exactly what you got.
1:16:06 >> Yeah. You're one swing away
1:16:09 minus a swing, I guess I should say,
1:16:11 from a 0-0 game. That Kyle's home run
1:16:13 back in the first is the difference.
1:16:20 >> Kyle Martin
1:16:23 He didn't do it, did he, Drake?
1:16:24 >> No, I don't think so. Not this time.
1:16:27 But, it did go off the base of the wall.
1:16:29 It is a double. Stand up double for
1:16:31 Martin, and
1:16:33 whatever's happening in the outfield
1:16:35 both teams having some s-
1:16:39 having some serious issues tracking the
1:16:41 ball.
1:16:42 >> Yeah, I I thought that was going to be
1:16:44 out number two all the way.
1:16:46 >> Yeah, I don't know how it was. It both
1:16:48 the it did looks very similar
1:16:51 to what we just saw out in right field
1:16:52 from Indy Stanley and Zack Watson.
1:16:55 >> I don't think it's the wind.
1:16:57 I think there's got to be a tracking the
1:16:59 ball here in this outfit.
1:17:03 >> Something about that yellow ball.
1:17:09 See flags off in the distance. And then
1:17:11 there
1:17:12 we're looking at 15-20 mph winds here.
1:17:16 >> [cheering]
1:17:17 >> This one's headed straight toward the
1:17:18 fans. Did they bring their gloves?
1:17:22 The answer is yes, they were just
1:17:23 useless on this account.
1:17:24 >> There's a man 17 ft away from us wearing
1:17:28 yellow who has a glove and couldn't
1:17:29 catch it.
1:17:30 >> Yep.
1:17:34 Works out of the Tailgaters' favor.
1:17:36 There are 10,009 fielders tonight at
1:17:39 First Horizon
1:17:40 >> Park.
1:17:41 That guy did not do his job. Faber,
1:17:43 trick play. Faber, yes.
1:17:46 Kyle Martin advances to third. It's as
1:17:48 good as a bunt. There are two down now
1:17:50 in the fourth.
1:17:58 Taylor Justice is one for one tonight
1:18:00 with a single. If he replicates that,
1:18:02 the Texas Tailgaters will have their
1:18:03 first run of the game.
1:18:10 Here in Banana Ball, every inning counts
1:18:11 as a point.
1:18:16 Runs are just the stepping stone to
1:18:18 those points.
1:18:20 The Tailgaters could use one of them.
1:18:23 >> Yeah, in a big way right here. And a guy
1:18:24 that they've leaned on a lot in Taylor
1:18:26 Justice. He now has a 29-game on-base
1:18:29 streak after he had that single his
1:18:31 first time up.
1:18:32 29 games.
1:18:35 >> He wasn't at first base very long.
1:18:39 Dinker, right field, it's down.
1:18:41 Jake Skole has come into the game in
1:18:43 right field replacing his own designated
1:18:46 fielder John Howard Bobo.
1:18:49 And Skole's hamstring has not been 100%.
1:18:54 And you see this just lands idle in
1:18:55 front of him.
1:18:56 >> I don't know if Big Bo makes it to that,
1:18:57 either. I'm going to be honest.
1:18:59 >> Bo's got Bo's got good wheels.
1:19:01 >> Skole's still nursing the lower body.
1:19:02 >> You know who's got a good voice?
1:19:04 >> Jason Aldean.
1:19:04 >> Did you lie? Jason Aldean.
1:19:26 >> [singing]
1:19:46 [music]
1:19:53 [music]
1:20:15 >> I, TOO, JASON ALDEAN, woke up in my
1:20:17 boots this morning.
1:20:19 It's a funny story. Secret between me,
1:20:21 you, and God, Tony, let me tell you.
1:20:22 Tulsa, Oklahoma.
1:20:24 Jason Aldean's doing his sound check at
1:20:26 about 10:38 a.m. He plays that song, him
1:20:29 and his band. First time I'd ever heard
1:20:31 him sing that. First time I'd never
1:20:32 heard him sing Hardy. And I said, "We've
1:20:34 got to get that in the show."
1:20:37 What you know about Hardy? WHAT YOU KNOW
1:20:39 ABOUT JASON HARDY? TWO FOR TWO TONIGHT.
1:20:43 I'll tell you this much, Jason Hardy has
1:20:45 been swinging the bat.
1:20:48 You know, before he hit that home run
1:20:50 last weekend, he hadn't gotten a hit in
1:20:51 nearly 2 months time.
1:20:53 Now, he's three for his last four plate
1:20:56 appearances.
1:20:56 >> Five-hole Justice is two for two today.
1:20:58 Hardy in the six-hole two for two.
1:21:01 Where the offense is primarily coming
1:21:03 from tonight from the Texas Tailgaters.
1:21:05 Can Mac Danford, seven-hole, add to it?
1:21:10 Back there.
1:21:16 Jonathan Hughes, sleep.
1:21:19 Been there, man. He He went to sleep in
1:21:22 his boots, of course.
1:21:24 >> Yep.
1:21:27 >> AYCOCK, DIVING STOP. DID HE GET THE OUT?
1:21:30 YES! WEB GEM.
1:21:34 CHOSEN, LAID OUT AT SHORTSTOP.
1:21:39 He ends the top OF THE FOURTH. WHAT A
1:21:41 PLAY.
1:21:44 FLASH THE GLOVE, KID.
1:21:48 And Bloomer, that face, that energy.
1:21:55 >> [applause and cheering]
1:21:55 >> And now Brett Sanchez,
1:22:00 the Texas Tailgater, asking his defense
1:22:02 to do some of the same.
1:22:04 I got eyes on him in Louisville,
1:22:06 Kentucky, this time last year, almost a
1:22:08 year ago today.
1:22:09 >> 354 days ago to be exact.
1:22:12 >> His debut in this sport. And he asked
1:22:14 for this. He said, "Hey, can I do one of
1:22:16 those two-two things that you guys do,
1:22:18 the dance before the pitch?" We said,
1:22:20 "Well, what do you want to do?" And he
1:22:21 said,
1:22:22 "I don't know. Maybe a little half thank
1:22:25 you, just a little thank. Thank. Thank.
1:22:29 And now he's miked up with us almost a
1:22:30 year later. Brett Sanchez, you are a
1:22:34 joy, a treat to watch, my friend.
1:22:36 >> What's up, Drake?
1:22:38 >> Sanchie,
1:22:41 how's the last couple innings [cheering]
1:22:42 felt for you? We won't talk about the
1:22:43 first, just the last few innings here.
1:22:47 >> I'm not going to lie, you might have to
1:22:48 repeat that last part. It got a little
1:22:50 loud for the teachers.
1:22:51 >> Last couple innings, how you how you
1:22:52 felt out there? We don't have to talk
1:22:53 about the first inning. Last couple
1:22:54 innings up.
1:22:55 >> No, hey, we can talk about the first
1:22:57 inning. I don't care.
1:22:58 >> Well, let me let me ask you a Brett.
1:23:00 Brett, I I hear from hitters, they say,
1:23:02 "We don't hit home runs, pitchers throw
1:23:04 them." Take me back to that pitch.
1:23:06 >> Oh, I threw it.
1:23:07 >> [laughter]
1:23:07 >> I threw it. I mean, it There could have
1:23:09 been a PVC pipe
1:23:11 in the middle of the plate and I
1:23:13 wouldn't have touched the PVC pipe cuz
1:23:14 it had gone through the the middle of
1:23:16 it.
1:23:16 >> And here he is. How poetic. Look who you
1:23:18 get to face to lead off the inning, Andy
1:23:20 Cosgrove.
1:23:24 >> I love to fan cough our ball on camera,
1:23:26 huh?
1:23:27 >> Seth, after you give up a home run to a
1:23:28 guy, do you change the approach next AB?
1:23:30 >> Uh, no. Okay. Not at all.
1:23:32 >> Okay.
1:23:35 All right, Sanchie. I want you to tell
1:23:36 me something you love. Tell me about
1:23:37 something you love. Lime scooters.
1:23:41 >> Hey.
1:23:43 I love a lime scooter and I'll even put
1:23:46 it I'm about to buy a $2,900 lime
1:23:49 scooter.
1:23:52 Yep.
1:23:53 >> Lay underneath this one. Down in the
1:23:55 sunshine looter strip play opportunity.
1:23:56 Got a couple of guys around him to
1:23:57 complete the double trick play.
1:23:59 >> Double pop, baby.
1:24:00 >> Nuggets.
1:24:00 >> Hey.
1:24:01 And I'd like to say that's the organic
1:24:03 way. Ain't none of the multi pop.
1:24:06 Hitting it multiple times.
1:24:08 That ain't cool.
1:24:09 >> Okay. Talk to me about that. Your your
1:24:11 trick play stands on the multi pop.
1:24:14 >> I don't I don't like when the ball
1:24:16 touches the same glove multiple times.
1:24:18 >> Oh, okay.
1:24:19 Everybody's got their preference.
1:24:20 Sanchie and I was in a swimming pool in
1:24:22 the stockyard. OH, HOLD UP. SANCHIN
1:24:24 BETWEEN THE LEGS. BUCKET. THREE TRICK
1:24:27 PLAYS IN 9 SECONDS.
1:24:29 SANCHIN, take me back to Fort Worth.
1:24:32 We were in a swimming pool talking about
1:24:36 Now, what what is your exact stance? The
1:24:38 multi-pop only one trick play if you pop
1:24:41 it more than once, correct?
1:24:45 >> Yes.
1:24:46 Uh I think it should be a double trick
1:24:49 but it only counts for one.
1:24:52 >> Okay. All right. I I see where he's kind
1:24:54 of going. What about What about pop into
1:24:56 the hat? How do you think the hat comes
1:24:57 into play here?
1:24:58 >> I like the hat
1:24:59 >> Yep.
1:25:00 >> but it has to be like without the glove.
1:25:06 >> You like the hat with the ta
1:25:09 Explain that to me.
1:25:11 >> [music]
1:25:11 >> Explain what?
1:25:12 >> You like the hat without the glove?
1:25:15 >> Yeah. So, like
1:25:15 >> So, the hat has to be in your hand.
1:25:17 >> Yeah. Like the gloves got to come off.
1:25:19 You can't have the glove.
1:25:20 >> Oh.
1:25:20 >> With assistance.
1:25:21 >> And it's you got to hold it with the
1:25:22 brim.
1:25:24 You got to hold it with the brim, of
1:25:25 course, is what you mean. Like you can't
1:25:27 be bare-handed in the
1:25:29 into the pop. Will it still count?
1:25:31 >> Uh
1:25:35 >> Oh, what do we got here?
1:25:36 >> Jordan Barr. AROUND THE INNER TUBE?
1:25:38 YEAH.
1:25:39 >> THAT'S A FOUR-TRICK PLAY INNING FOR THE
1:25:41 [screaming] MAN THAT'S SECOND IN THE
1:25:42 BANANA BALL CHAMPIONSHIP LEAGUE. HE CAN
1:25:44 DO SOME TRICK PLAYS.
1:25:47 AND A POINT.
1:25:52 ONE TO ONE.
1:25:56 >> I LOVE YOU.
1:25:57 AND UH BRETT told me got to get a
1:25:59 different fur coat, man. You had that
1:26:00 same one in Louisville.
1:26:02 >> I love it. Brett Sanchin says, "Thank
1:26:04 you so much for your time." From Brett
1:26:06 Sanchin says to A.J. Cursin, Garrett
1:26:08 Runestone Lamp here.
1:26:09 >> Party Animals versus Texas Tailgaters,
1:26:14 and you, Nashville, are deciding the
1:26:17 winner.
1:26:18 Introducing first, the greatest party in
1:26:22 sports, THE PARTY ANIMALS!
1:26:28 >> [cheering]
1:26:47 [music]
1:26:48 [singing]
1:27:04 [music]
1:27:11 [music]
1:27:20 [music]
1:27:43 >> Alrighty fans, we know everything's
1:27:45 bigger in Texas, BUT WILL THEIR WALK-UP
1:27:47 be better? IT'S TIME TO FIND OUT. IT'S
1:27:49 THE TEXAS TAILGATERS!
1:27:56 >> [cheering]
1:28:08 >> WELL, if you didn't like it the first
1:28:10 time, HERE'S IT AGAIN.
1:28:11 >> LET'S DO IT AGAIN.
1:28:13 >> [laughter]
1:28:24 [music]
1:28:28 >> Split hand grip from Jimmy Lloyd.
1:28:30 >> did like it the pro Okay.
1:28:33 This is this it was Jake Scholl's first
1:28:35 day at the waving flag factory. He had
1:28:37 to He had to really learn.
1:28:38 >> Jimmy Lloyd was born to
1:28:39 >> Jimmy Lloyd is doing a really good job
1:28:41 waving that sucker.
1:28:43 >> [music]
1:28:47 >> This looks
1:28:48 It's the same song and the same audio
1:28:50 cut.
1:28:52 >> You can World Cup.
1:28:52 >> Didn't I see this tonight in the game
1:28:54 between the Coconuts and the
1:28:55 Firefighters? I don't want to give away
1:28:57 any too much out of that contest, but
1:29:01 Dude, Jimmy I I you know, we're going to
1:29:03 start a poll who waved the flag better.
1:29:05 Our producer Chad Reese asked us. I
1:29:07 think
1:29:08 >> I'm going Jimmy Lloyd.
1:29:09 >> I mean, it's not even close, dog.
1:29:11 Jake Scholl is really good at banana
1:29:13 ball, triple crown winner.
1:29:15 But
1:29:16 >> He's
1:29:16 >> Was it and Avery Hughes WILL TELL YOU
1:29:18 THIS.
1:29:18 >> IT'S BEYONCE. HIS HIS RHYTHM
1:29:21 >> [cheering]
1:29:21 >> HIS RHYTHM COULD USE A LITTLE a a touch.
1:29:27 >> [cheering]
1:29:32 >> Shocker. The place is 70% black and pink
1:29:35 and
1:29:36 >> Yeah.
1:29:36 >> Animals won the
1:29:37 >> I've seen three Firefighters jerseys.
1:29:40 >> Is that real?
1:29:40 >> It's real.
1:29:41 >> Is that real? Do they have any players
1:29:43 on that or is
1:29:43 >> Is that Christian Dierman over there?
1:29:45 Alex Bentley out in left field?
1:29:47 >> Wow, that's a good one.
1:29:48 >> That's a deep track, dog.
1:29:51 Goo Ow. Bald Farty.
1:29:53 Bald Farty.
1:29:55 Heck, man.
1:29:56 >> He's got on a Pete Rose batting helmet
1:29:58 right now.
1:29:58 >> You You are one
1:30:01 You're one shower with a tick high water
1:30:04 pressure away from being just like Bald
1:30:06 party.
1:30:07 >> That's not real.
1:30:09 >> That toupee you got, it it's hanging on.
1:30:12 I just hadn't washed my hair in 3 days.
1:30:16 They got showers at the hotel. I know I
1:30:18 wasn't at the hotel last night.
1:30:20 >> Yeah, you haven't been in Nashville for
1:30:21 the exception of the last 15 minutes.
1:30:23 >> I can get I showed up at the airport
1:30:26 last night for 10:15 flight. Now, I
1:30:27 think the smallest airport in the world,
1:30:29 Savannah, Georgia. I showed up at 8:45
1:30:31 for a 10:15 flight. That's normal.
1:30:35 Lady at the Southwest kiosk says, "Hey,
1:30:37 what are you doing here?"
1:30:39 You don't ever want to hear that at the
1:30:40 airport.
1:30:41 >> [laughter]
1:30:41 >> I said, "I'm here to get on my flight."
1:30:43 She says, "We're closed." I said,
1:30:45 "You're the airport. How are you closed?
1:30:48 It's 8:45."
1:30:51 TSA had closed at 8:30 in Savannah,
1:30:54 and they just didn't let me on the
1:30:55 airplane.
1:30:57 She said, "I can book you for tomorrow.
1:30:58 What time you want to leave?" I said,
1:30:59 "Morning, morning. I got to get to
1:31:01 Nashville."
1:31:02 She said, "Well, we got a 1:30."
1:31:05 Then why did YOU ASK ME WHAT TIME I
1:31:06 WANTED TO LEAVE?
1:31:10 >> THAT WAS THE MOST panicked I've ever
1:31:12 heard you in person or otherwise.
1:31:13 >> you and Chad Reese and said, "Nobody
1:31:15 panic."
1:31:16 Which was a message to myself.
1:31:19 Nobody panic.
1:31:21 But I can't leave Savannah, Georgia
1:31:23 until 1:30 Eastern time. I was at the
1:31:25 game.
1:31:25 >> I was walking to Jason Aldean's concert.
1:31:27 I was happy as could be.
1:31:33 >> Todd Spanner underneath it.
1:31:35 Ball still playing funky. Popped up by
1:31:37 A-Cub GOING THE HAT. NO, GO BEHIND THE
1:31:40 BACK. EVEN BETTER FROM BRYSON BLOOMER.
1:31:42 Count it.
1:31:45 >> Big time right there, man. Earn a couple
1:31:47 trick plays back.
1:31:49 And that's, you know, what Chase has
1:31:50 talked about, what Brett Sanchez has
1:31:52 talked about.
1:31:53 You can pop it. Yeah, you can go in the
1:31:55 hat.
1:31:56 >> But that's so much better for him in the
1:31:57 game.
1:31:58 >> better for the sport. It's better I
1:31:59 think that'll be an open conversation as
1:32:01 we go about building the Banana Ball
1:32:03 Championship League is what is a trick
1:32:05 play? What what defines
1:32:07 in the most fans-first way a trick play?
1:32:13 Suffice to say, after some delays
1:32:15 yesterday and TSA being closed,
1:32:20 I did get to Nashville today. 3:04
1:32:23 arrival time at the ballpark.
1:32:28 I'm running on fumes and 16 energy
1:32:30 drinks.
1:32:31 >> You drink you didn't wake up until I
1:32:34 know you woke up early, but you got up
1:32:35 >> I woke up at 5:00.
1:32:38 Yeah.
1:32:39 >> That's because you have five jobs.
1:32:41 >> Correct.
1:32:42 Of which I love all of them.
1:32:48 Delano
1:32:50 had to find the zone.
1:32:53 It's a big swing and a miss either way.
1:32:55 >> Payoff pitch, triple seven.
1:32:59 >> Small ball or spread, low to Stanley. He
1:33:01 is rolling to first base and he slips.
1:33:05 He wanted second all the way against his
1:33:07 former team, the Party Animals.
1:33:10 And a free 90 is what he'll have to
1:33:12 settle with
1:33:13 after the turf monster got him. Oh,
1:33:15 yeah. Oh, you see his face? Oh.
1:33:18 >> Hey Yvon Trahan,
1:33:19 put that in the Banana Ball blooper
1:33:20 reel, please.
1:33:21 >> Yeah, there you go.
1:33:22 >> He's still on first though regardless
1:33:23 and he's smiling about it, so
1:33:24 everything's okay.
1:33:25 >> Did I make it, coach?
1:33:27 Did I get there?
1:33:28 >> He also hit the the cat.
1:33:30 >> Yeah. I hadn't seen that one in years
1:33:31 over there first.
1:33:32 >> Throwback.
1:33:36 Here's Jordan Hussey, J5, former Party
1:33:38 Animal.
1:33:42 Roped into left field, down for a hit.
1:33:44 NOW STANLEY WANTS THIRD. THOMAS FIRES
1:33:46 AWAY. IT'S NOT IN TIME and off line.
1:33:49 Hustle play from Stanley, he got his
1:33:51 getback.
1:33:51 >> I tell you what,
1:33:53 you look only one run tonight, which
1:33:55 ended up being a point there in the
1:33:56 fourth the Tailgaters. They are trying
1:33:58 to manufacture ways to score more runs.
1:34:00 That is a hustle play right there.
1:34:02 That's everything the boys in blue and
1:34:03 orange stand for. Indy going first to
1:34:05 third on a hard hit but right to a guy a
1:34:07 single. That's incredible stuff out of
1:34:10 the third-year Banana Ball.
1:34:11 >> Can I tell you what this Tailgater team
1:34:12 reminds me of?
1:34:13 >> Talk to me.
1:34:14 >> 2011 Alabama football.
1:34:16 >> Yeah.
1:34:17 >> Yeah, 2019 Joe Burrow, they've got this
1:34:19 flashy, sexy, rah rah rah. The
1:34:21 Tailgaters are not in your face.
1:34:24 They strap it on and they get the job
1:34:26 done.
1:34:26 >> Pause.
1:34:27 >> We're not going to let you cross the 50.
1:34:29 >> That's right.
1:34:31 Into center.
1:34:33 Mantha coming in, he won't have room.
1:34:36 That is an RBI single
1:34:38 for Zack Watty Wo Watson. Let them kids
1:34:41 dance at home plate or whatever they do.
1:34:46 Brett Allen.
1:34:47 >> Mhm, Donny.
1:34:50 >> Ring dudes?
1:34:51 >> Yep.
1:34:56 >> Oh.
1:34:57 Wow.
1:35:00 Wow. Sunglasses at night.
1:35:02 This
1:35:03 What? Wow.
1:35:06 Why do I really like this?
1:35:11 Why was that really good? Wow. Holy cow.
1:35:15 You know, Donny Allen, Brett Allen has
1:35:17 one of the biggest
1:35:20 personalities
1:35:21 >> Right. Right. Good Drake.
1:35:23 >> in this sport.
1:35:23 >> 100%.
1:35:26 He's a big-time asset for the Texas
1:35:28 Tailgaters this year.
1:35:29 Entertainment-wise,
1:35:30 in between the lines, he's been shoving
1:35:32 recently.
1:35:33 And he can dance a little bit as we just
1:35:34 seen.
1:35:37 >> Boom.
1:35:38 When it rains, it pours.
1:35:40 Into right field. Nick Lopez, RBI
1:35:44 double. The Texas Tailgaters as Hussein
1:35:46 comes around to score. He's fired up.
1:35:50 >> Boys are to get going, man. Garrett
1:35:52 Delano's had their number
1:35:54 to begin this ball game. I mean, one
1:35:56 out, you've already scored a couple
1:35:58 runs, got two more in scoring position.
1:35:59 No wait, now it's time for THE LEAGUE
1:36:01 LEADER IN RBI TO COME UP TO THE dish and
1:36:03 Kyle Martin.
1:36:05 >> What it was
1:36:07 second time through for nine hole, 10
1:36:09 hole Stanley and Hussein. Both those
1:36:10 guys getting on was key.
1:36:12 Flip your lineup for the third time, let
1:36:13 the guys rake.
1:36:18 And you can't pitch around him now.
1:36:20 >> You know, he's seen just three strikes
1:36:22 tonight in two plate appearances.
1:36:23 >> In in Banana Ball, you can't you can't
1:36:25 put him on.
1:36:26 He's going to hit.
1:36:29 He being Kyle Martin, of course.
1:36:33 And he does just that.
1:36:37 Adds another RBI to his ledger, make it
1:36:39 two for Kyle Martin.
1:36:41 He's got 48 of those this season
1:36:44 already, Brett Loftis.
1:36:46 >> And extends his lead as the Banana Ball
1:36:47 Championship League leader. And Drake,
1:36:50 you you just mentioned it when it comes
1:36:51 to trick plays to me, you know, we were
1:36:53 we were off air and you said, "I knew
1:36:54 you guys are going to have an inning
1:36:55 like that with four trick plays." They
1:36:57 do that with runs as well. As now an
1:36:59 inning, they have scored four runs.
1:37:04 >> And it's it's that spot where 2011
1:37:07 Arkansas
1:37:08 gets a sneaky field goal lead, little
1:37:11 3-0 lead with, you know, Tyler Wilson at
1:37:13 quarterback, Ryan Mallett calling the
1:37:15 shots, Joe Adams out there.
1:37:16 >> Ryan Mallett, God rest his soul.
1:37:18 >> And then what happens
1:37:21 is you think, "All right, we're up a
1:37:22 field goal. We score on Alabama first."
1:37:25 But slowly but surely that that
1:37:26 backbreaker, that that middle eight,
1:37:28 what they call it football, last four
1:37:29 minutes the first half, first four
1:37:30 minutes the second half, that's where
1:37:31 the game is won and lost. In Banana
1:37:33 Ball, us Texas Tailgaters, you just wait
1:37:36 for that dam to break. The second it
1:37:37 does, this happens.
1:37:40 >> Just means more for the Texas
1:37:41 Tailgaters.
1:37:42 They win the fourth inning.
1:37:45 They put on a defensive clinic in the
1:37:46 bottom of the fourth inning.
1:37:48 >> Or more soccer ball. Pump it and out.
1:37:50 >> And now score four runs
1:37:52 in the top of the fifth.
1:37:56 And have likely chased Garrett Delano.
1:38:06 Into the stands.
1:38:08 And it cannot be caught.
1:38:12 Saw a few of those last weekend. Jersey
1:38:14 Shore.
1:38:16 Short Town Ball Park.
1:38:17 >> Denise.
1:38:18 >> Denise, man. Caught it in her hat.
1:38:31 Bloomer cannot make mistakes against
1:38:33 this Tailgaters team.
1:38:35 Pop up trick play.
1:38:37 I did not see that coming. Bryson
1:38:40 Bloomer.
1:38:41 Count it.
1:38:43 Big two. Give you the lead.
1:38:45 >> Back in the trick play category right
1:38:46 there if you're the Party Animals.
1:38:48 >> It's very likely the Tailgaters will win
1:38:50 this inning.
1:38:51 And I And I Every time the visiting team
1:38:53 has more trick plays, no matter where it
1:38:54 is in the game, I always count that as
1:38:56 an extra point. I'm thinking in my
1:38:57 brain, all right, if that equalizer goes
1:38:58 home with the opposition, the Tailgaters
1:39:00 could be staring at a a 3-1 lead right
1:39:02 now.
1:39:03 But Bloomer putting the team on his
1:39:05 back.
1:39:09 He did go. And that's Taylor Justice.
1:39:13 By the way, ball carried goes toward the
1:39:15 dugout. And now
1:39:17 Kyle Barton can advance to second.
1:39:19 >> 67% of people are saying Jake Skullway
1:39:22 the flag.
1:39:24 >> 60% 67% of people need to go to the eye
1:39:27 doctor real fast.
1:39:32 Whoever their optometrist is, he uh
1:39:33 better He better be worried. Hope you're
1:39:35 tipping him.
1:39:40 You told me they taught Jimmy Lewis how
1:39:41 to wave a flag today.
1:39:43 >> They did.
1:39:44 Zach Franjiro, our director of
1:39:45 entertainment for Fans First
1:39:47 Entertainment, is here.
1:39:48 >> And taught him in that rehearsal how to
1:39:50 wave a flag.
1:39:59 And people
1:40:00 >> Yeah, what you got?
1:40:01 >> Yeah, almost a 10-minute inning here for
1:40:02 Delaino.
1:40:05 He got him looking.
1:40:07 >> What?
1:40:08 >> Delaino gets some help. Clear help from
1:40:11 Hunter Ives, but he'll take it to the
1:40:12 stat book. It's his fourth strikeout.
1:40:14 His night is likely done. Here's a
1:40:16 replay.
1:40:17 >> Man, I'm going to be honest here with
1:40:18 you, Drake. You don't see Taylor Justice
1:40:20 turn around ever. If we could just show
1:40:22 this a little bit longer. If you see
1:40:23 Taylor Justice turn around, yeah, that's
1:40:26 you know you were wrong.
1:40:28 >> How about a little Party Animals after
1:40:30 dark? Lights go up here at First Horizon
1:40:32 Park.
1:40:39 >> We're up enjoying the dark.
1:40:40 >> 10,000 folks here at First Horizon, huh?
1:40:43 >> 10,000 people, man.
1:40:45 >> And their wristbands are about to light
1:40:47 up the night sky here in Nashville.
1:40:49 Steps away from Broadway, and man, what
1:40:51 an honor it is
1:40:53 to have these two teams back together.
1:40:55 The Party Animals and Savannah Bananas
1:40:56 were the only two teams in Banana Ball
1:40:58 until the Texas Tailgaters,
1:41:01 the fourth team, followed up the
1:41:02 Firefighters and made this a quasi
1:41:04 league. You started to see the
1:41:06 [cheering] basis, the foundation for
1:41:07 what could one day become the Banana
1:41:08 Ball Championship League.
1:41:10 And what started with two
1:41:14 quickly turned to three, but those Party
1:41:15 Animals and Firefighters didn't get to
1:41:16 play much, only a couple of series back
1:41:18 in 2024.
1:41:20 In 2025, with the advent of the
1:41:21 Tailgaters,
1:41:23 the organization basically said, "You
1:41:24 know what? Put them with the Party
1:41:25 Animals."
1:41:25 >> Yep.
1:41:26 >> Let them play each other for months and
1:41:27 months and months on end. And these two
1:41:29 teams got to know each other very well.
1:41:30 You see they're down on the field right
1:41:31 now having conversations and hanging
1:41:33 out.
1:41:34 There might not be two squads that
1:41:36 respect each other more than the Party
1:41:38 Animals and Texas Tailgaters.
1:41:39 >> You know why that is?
1:41:40 Three of your biggest leaders in the
1:41:42 Tailgaters clubhouse both last year and
1:41:43 this year, Jordan Hussein, Zack
1:41:45 Whitenburg, Taj Boyer,
1:41:47 >> Yeah.
1:41:47 >> all Party Animals.
1:41:48 >> Yeah.
1:41:48 >> And either '23 and '24 or just '24. And
1:41:51 coming over there, the respect that was
1:41:54 commanded from those three from this
1:41:56 Tailgaters group both last year and this
1:41:57 year to this Party Animals team,
1:41:59 >> I was telling Chase Jacob today, I said
1:42:01 and I mean this with all due respect,
1:42:03 I'm so happy I personally
1:42:05 >> in my first year in this sport as a
1:42:06 broadcaster got to spend as much time on
1:42:08 the road with the Party Animals last
1:42:09 year. I got to learn what it was like to
1:42:12 be around a team and look through their
1:42:14 lens of how they view Bananaball and the
1:42:15 Party Animals.
1:42:17 And I think in many ways,
1:42:19 you can give a little bit of credit to
1:42:21 the Party Animals for as good as the
1:42:23 Texas Tailgaters have been this year.
1:42:24 >> I think you're right and you know,
1:42:26 credit goes back to Avery Hughes
1:42:29 for what she helped build with that
1:42:30 Party Animals show in the 2024 taking it
1:42:32 on the road for the first time.
1:42:34 Down at Sunshine Loons Trick Play
1:42:36 opportunity. Fire first.
1:42:39 >> BOOK IT.
1:42:40 >> BOOK IT.
1:42:41 >> AND JUST LIKE THAT, THE TAILGATERS
1:42:43 RETAKE THE TRICK Play lead 8 to 7.
1:42:48 And it's
1:42:49 I've gotten a front row seat to see the
1:42:51 evolution of this team's maturity. It
1:42:53 felt like in 2024, they were still the
1:42:56 little brother to the Bananas and they
1:42:57 had this angst, kind of this moxie
1:42:59 against that.
1:43:00 And there were multiple times where
1:43:01 Jesse Cole would come in the locker room
1:43:03 and say, "Hey, if we're going to grow as
1:43:04 a sport of Bananaball, here's how you
1:43:06 guys have to selflessly conduct
1:43:08 yourselves. Not that you aren't, but but
1:43:10 here's the blueprint to ensure this
1:43:12 thing blows up and we can
1:43:13 >> [music]
1:43:13 >> really build a sport out of Bananaball."
1:43:16 Tanner Thomas
1:43:18 DEEP RIGHT FIELD
1:43:19 TANNER THOMAS
1:43:21 SAY GOODBYE.
1:43:23 >> [cheering]
1:43:23 >> HE IS NOW TIED FOR SECOND IN THE
1:43:26 BANANABALL Championship League in long
1:43:28 balls. And he says, "Thank you, Brett
1:43:31 Sanchez."
1:43:39 >> [cheering]
1:43:42 >> Thomas
1:43:46 leaves the yard for the seventh time
1:43:48 this season.
1:43:54 T-Bone man got all of it and I think
1:43:56 Brett Sanchez
1:44:00 who was questioned earlier about a home
1:44:01 run he gave up to Andy Cosgrove said,
1:44:03 "Man, I just left one over the plate." I
1:44:04 think he'd say the exact same on that
1:44:06 pitch.
1:44:06 >> Yeah, I mean
1:44:07 Sanchez is one of those guys and if he
1:44:09 misses, I mean, and you're facing a
1:44:11 power guy like Tanner Thomas, you're
1:44:13 going to give up a long ball and right
1:44:14 now he's giving up two of them tonight.
1:44:16 >> Good spot to give up a solo shot though.
1:44:18 Still up 4 to 1 in the inning.
1:44:21 T-time though, man. Coming back off of
1:44:24 massive injury.
1:44:26 Yuck, he has and still been absolutely
1:44:28 electric this year.
1:44:33 OH, [screaming] THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
1:44:35 Thank you. What a way to respond by
1:44:38 Stank Steak. His fourth strikeout of the
1:44:40 night and one out closer to giving the
1:44:42 Tailgaters a 2 to 1 lead.
1:44:44 >> What goes up must come down, huh?
1:44:47 >> Babe Ruth Babe Ruth has a beer.
1:44:49 >> Here he goes. It's in a boot.
1:44:51 All right.
1:44:54 >> [applause]
1:44:57 >> That is gross.
1:45:00 >> [cheering and applause]
1:45:01 >> Mom to the leprechaun.
1:45:07 And I don't think any of that beer got
1:45:08 in his mouth.
1:45:09 >> [cheering]
1:45:10 [applause]
1:45:13 >> That's unofficial.
1:45:14 Brett Law had his time to be over 5
1:45:16 seconds. I disagree. There's no way.
1:45:18 >> They even gave him a mulligan.
1:45:20 >> I didn't start it until the boot
1:45:21 caressed his lips.
1:45:22 >> I had him at a 4.9.
1:45:24 Which in 40-yard dash terms is a four.
1:45:27 >> I don't want you at the combine.
1:45:29 I don't want you drafting for my
1:45:30 Carolina Panthers.
1:45:33 >> You know that that conversation in 2024
1:45:35 about kind of growing up through Banana
1:45:36 Ball and helping the sport grow up
1:45:38 translated into 2025 with the Party
1:45:40 Animals went from little brother
1:45:42 to
1:45:44 leader
1:45:44 >> Yep.
1:45:45 >> in the Banana Ball, in the sport of
1:45:46 Banana Ball, and into this league. TRICK
1:45:48 PITCH. SWING AND A MISS. TRICK PLAY.
1:45:51 THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
1:45:54 THE TAILGATERS TELL YOU THANK YOU. SENSI
1:45:56 tells you thank you. AND HE HELPS OUT
1:45:58 HIS DEFENSE WITH ANOTHER TRICK PLAY.
1:46:01 Behind the back, into the glove, under
1:46:03 the leg, OFF THE CHEST. PUMP JACK.
1:46:06 NUMBER FIVE ON THE NIGHT, AND THE
1:46:08 TAILGATERS take a two to one lead.
1:46:13 >> Well, Brett Helton quickly broke
1:46:15 character.
1:46:15 >> [laughter]
1:46:17 >> All right, business as usual. Back to
1:46:18 it.
1:46:20 >> [cheering and screaming]
1:46:21 >> And there comes Janan, the Party
1:46:23 Starters, Party Down. And last night
1:46:26 they absolutely rocked Nashville,
1:46:29 Tennessee, Music City. This is the land
1:46:32 they call home.
1:46:34 And they were electric at Tin Roof, and
1:46:38 they mentioned that
1:46:39 almost every member of the Party
1:46:41 Animals, outside of the couple guys who
1:46:42 are married, were right there in the
1:46:45 crowd at Tin Roof watching them bring
1:46:47 the house down on the strip.
1:46:49 >> It was incredible. I was in there along
1:46:51 with some other Texas Tailgaters as
1:46:52 well. And they even put on a little bit
1:46:55 of a cameo performance, the public
1:46:57 address announcer for the Party Animals.
1:46:59 I'll tell you what, man, that place was
1:47:00 rocking. And I didn't stay the whole
1:47:02 time. I had to go to bed. My My
1:47:04 bedtime's always midnight. But they
1:47:05 stayed there until 2:30 in the morning
1:47:07 >> Yeah. at Tin Roof last night. Just an
1:47:09 exceptional, exceptional man in Janan,
1:47:12 man, helping lead that bunch.
1:47:13 >> Party Panda, by the way, the pride of
1:47:15 Bowling Green, former football player
1:47:17 at Bowling Green under Urban Meyer
1:47:21 was also in an NCAA football game.
1:47:24 Known as DT number 94, but still in an
1:47:27 NCAA football game.
1:47:27 >> there. He was I saw him. Peter Holden.
1:47:30 Pistol Pete is coming to the game to
1:47:31 pitch for the Party Animals.
1:47:33 >> [cheering]
1:47:34 >> He was a late addition coming out of
1:47:35 North Florida that 2024 Party Animals
1:47:37 team.
1:47:41 He's been a member of this sport wearing
1:47:42 that jersey for three seasons and faces
1:47:44 brother.
1:47:50 Jose Gonzalez Jr.
1:47:53 Who I have had a margarita with in my
1:47:55 life back in February.
1:47:56 >> I remember that.
1:47:58 >> Oh, okay. Thank you.
1:47:59 >> I was there.
1:48:00 >> You were.
1:48:02 Brother.
1:48:04 A loud welcome to the night [cheering]
1:48:06 as he has taken the place of Jason Art
1:48:08 who went two for two.
1:48:10 Gonzalez picks up right back where
1:48:13 Art left off.
1:48:15 >> [cheering]
1:48:16 >> We'll put it in Mexico.
1:48:18 Cozumel, I believe.
1:48:20 >> Yeah, I don't really remember.
1:48:21 >> Yeah, that's right.
1:48:28 We'll
1:48:29 play outside.
1:48:32 Yeah, I think it was in
1:48:33 >> [cheering]
1:48:33 >> It was Cozumel, right? We were in that
1:48:35 that
1:48:36 second level restaurant. I got me a I
1:48:37 think it was the best quesadilla I've
1:48:38 ever had in my life.
1:48:39 >> just buying stuff, man.
1:48:40 >> I didn't buy anything that
1:48:42 >> Oh, it was Zack Staten. He bought that
1:48:43 [cheering] mask.
1:48:44 >> Oh, that's right.
1:48:45 >> Yeah, I didn't buy anything.
1:48:46 >> You couldn't
1:48:47 Yep.
1:48:48 >> No, hey, you know what?
1:48:49 >> Yeah, you're right.
1:48:50 >> No, you're right. I had to put an arm on
1:48:51 his shoulder at some point.
1:48:52 >> Exactly.
1:48:54 Man to man, eye hole to eyes.
1:48:58 Have a conversation about this luchador
1:49:00 mask.
1:49:02 I had to pull it down to see his little
1:49:04 pearly blues.
1:49:10 That was a nice little cabana.
1:49:13 You didn't invite me to that.
1:49:15 >> No, that's what I'm call it the second
1:49:16 floor of the bar.
1:49:17 >> Oh.
1:49:18 >> Oh,
1:49:19 it was a bar restaurant.
1:49:21 >> Yeah, I mean it was more of a restaurant
1:49:22 cuz we were there at 1:30 in the
1:49:23 afternoon.
1:49:26 >> We were the only people there.
1:49:28 They kept asking me if I liked pretty
1:49:29 ladies. I said, "Well, yeah. Yeah."
1:49:33 Don't ever say yeah.
1:49:36 >> I just gave him a thumbs up.
1:49:38 >> [laughter]
1:49:39 >> No English. No English. NO ENGLISH.
1:49:44 >> THAT'S fun trip, man.
1:49:46 Brother stands off first base, getting
1:49:48 to hang out with him, talk to him.
1:49:50 Still brand new. He's fresh off being
1:49:52 drafted.
1:49:53 >> Yeah, he was.
1:49:54 >> Banana Ball Championship League Draft.
1:49:56 So, his perspective is still so new
1:49:57 having not played a registered game in
1:49:59 the sport.
1:50:01 But funny, he played in the first ever
1:50:03 Banana Ball game.
1:50:05 Back in 2020. He was a CPL Banana. It
1:50:07 was more of a Let's explore a little bit
1:50:09 here with some of the CPL Bananas. He
1:50:10 played in the first ever Banana Ball
1:50:12 game.
1:50:14 >> [screaming]
1:50:14 >> Yeah.
1:50:15 >> Never taken this thing on tour.
1:50:19 And now he's been He's been fun to
1:50:20 watch.
1:50:24 Swing and a miss. Pistol Pete got Mac
1:50:28 Danford.
1:50:32 You know,
1:50:33 Mac Mac is 0 for 3 tonight. And you
1:50:35 mentioned at the top of the show,
1:50:37 when the when a guy like that goes from
1:50:39 batting 264 to even 284,
1:50:42 295, 300, he's got the capability to
1:50:44 have that bat. That's when this this
1:50:46 lineup becomes truly complete.
1:50:49 But the Texas Tailgaters are so deep, on
1:50:51 a night where that guy goes 0 for 3 to
1:50:53 start, you don't have to have it.
1:50:55 >> Still scored five runs tonight.
1:50:56 >> Yeah.
1:50:58 >> And I think the biggest thing is, too,
1:50:59 Griffin,
1:51:00 is first two plate appearances, both
1:51:02 fielder's choice. So, Chase Eaker threw
1:51:04 it to third [cheering] to get the first
1:51:06 out and Mac's first AB and the third out
1:51:08 in his second AB. I mean, he's hit the
1:51:10 the well twice, just unfortunate.
1:51:12 >> Swing and a miss for Taj Porter.
1:51:15 Give them all donuts.
1:51:17 10,000 fans here in Nashville.
1:51:21 Get some Munchkins in their lap.
1:51:24 I could use a Munchkin.
1:51:27 I'm hungry.
1:51:31 Not the uh
1:51:33 I don't What are you going to say? The
1:51:34 Willy Wonka thing?
1:51:36 >> [cheering]
1:51:36 >> I thought those were open open.
1:51:38 You're on it. You're on to something.
1:51:41 >> [screaming]
1:51:42 >> Pickoff move, of course. Nobody better
1:51:44 in the Banana Ball Championship League
1:51:46 than the left arm of Peter Holden.
1:51:49 The second time tonight a Texas
1:51:51 Tailgaters was picked off at first base.
1:51:54 Second time tonight for Jacob Pipperson.
1:51:58 >> The first move there from Peter Holden.
1:52:00 There's just I mean you you can't defeat
1:52:02 it. As a left-handed pitcher, he is
1:52:04 incredible. And right there I I'm not
1:52:07 even going to put that one on Pip. I
1:52:08 mean that's a great move. That is an
1:52:10 incredible move from Pistol Pete.
1:52:11 >> How many trick plays in that inning?
1:52:13 For the Party Animals?
1:52:16 >> Zero.
1:52:18 So it's it's in the sport of Banana Ball
1:52:20 the little things that you find like
1:52:22 that. And say, "Hey, you struck out a
1:52:24 couple times, got a guy picked off, but
1:52:26 the defense the Party Animals had no
1:52:28 trick plays." And so the Texas
1:52:29 Tailgaters still lead in that category
1:52:31 as it's time to say hello to the infant.
1:52:38 >> [music]
1:52:53 >> Oh, yeah. Once again.
1:53:06 Let's get a little shuffle to the right.
1:53:09 Right. To the left.
1:53:12 To the right.
1:53:12 >> Hey baby in the dark.
1:53:13 >> To the left.
1:53:15 >> Or at night. Winky face.
1:53:34 >> Let's go.
1:53:35 Let's go big with it.
1:53:50 Nat still you crossed that.
1:53:52 >> Well, while you're in the uh
1:53:54 >> [cheering]
1:53:54 >> No.
1:53:55 >> I I would I would I would I would say
1:53:56 babying. Don't you put that evil on me.
1:53:58 I would
1:53:58 >> Is there a banjo?
1:53:59 >> There
1:54:00 There were other people in the bathroom
1:54:02 that needed to know that it was hey baby
1:54:03 time.
1:54:06 Yes, while I was in there what happened?
1:54:10 >> Brett Sanchez came back out for another
1:54:12 another inning of work? Is that what
1:54:13 you're going to tell me?
1:54:14 >> to see the the people wanted to know if
1:54:15 you were doing hey baby or not. I was
1:54:16 like, well, I personally don't know
1:54:18 because you were in the bathroom.
1:54:19 >> I was hey babying
1:54:20 at a pretty aggressive rate. And let's
1:54:22 just say that
1:54:24 I'm going to need
1:54:25 I'm going to tip the janitor real well.
1:54:27 >> Brett Sanchez
1:54:29 five strikeouts tonight.
1:54:31 Four to third thus far. He's given up a
1:54:33 lone walk-off which came to Andy Kyle's
1:54:36 girl, but another exceptional outing
1:54:38 from Slidell, Louisiana's finest. Uh-oh.
1:54:40 What do we got?
1:54:42 Trick play, tip drill, bucket from
1:54:44 Taylor Justice.
1:54:47 And Drake, that is now 18 straight games
1:54:50 in which the Texas Tailgaters 19
1:54:52 straight games in which the Texas
1:54:53 Tailgaters have recorded 10 or more
1:54:55 trick plays.
1:55:00 >> I think that
1:55:01 And Anthony Cormado is one of the best
1:55:04 hitting coaches that I've been around.
1:55:06 >> And you mentioned that pre-game, too.
1:55:10 >> That's That's a conversation with Mikey
1:55:11 Ballou. Hey, you look you you've driven
1:55:13 this guy There's a great view of it.
1:55:15 You've driven this guy, Brett Sanchez,
1:55:19 to near 80 pitches.
1:55:23 The first pitch swing approach
1:55:26 with an opportunity to walk off the
1:55:27 sixth here and hopefully tie the game
1:55:29 might not be the way to go.
1:55:31 Try to Try to get Sanchez
1:55:35 into a pickle with his control. A Skull
1:55:37 on second. Skull past second.
1:55:41 Ah, ooh, tight play. Jake Skull is safe.
1:55:45 No indication that the Tailgaters want
1:55:47 to challenge. Let's see a replay.
1:55:50 He's safe.
1:55:51 >> Yeah, they shouldn't challenge.
1:55:52 >> Nope.
1:55:54 But again, I think that's why you you
1:55:55 look at Mikey Ballou and you say,
1:55:56 "Mikey, hey, first pitch swinging right
1:55:58 here
1:55:59 might not be our best bet. Let's work it
1:56:01 a little bit." A lesson for the rookie.
1:56:05 >> Actually, he's looking pretty healthy by
1:56:06 the way.
1:56:07 >> Yeah. Yeah.
1:56:12 >> By the way, couple of arms warming up
1:56:14 for the Tailgaters. But
1:56:17 I wouldn't expect Brett Sanchez leave
1:56:19 this ball game until he throws 90, 95
1:56:21 pitches. Now, that could happen here in
1:56:22 the sixth. It could happen in the
1:56:24 seventh. It could happen in the eighth.
1:56:25 >> Yeah. [cheering]
1:56:26 >> But about 90 to 100 pitches is the
1:56:28 threshold for Brett Sanchez right now
1:56:30 and he's obviously getting close.
1:56:32 >> Again, it was that first pitch swinging
1:56:33 >> Yep.
1:56:34 >> from Mikey Ballou you want back.
1:56:37 If Swan's able to work the ball for a
1:56:38 sprinter get a hit, they could walk off
1:56:40 this sixth to tie the game.
1:56:43 Big pitch coming.
1:56:45 Skull's in scoring position
1:56:48 with one down.
1:56:50 Payoff pitch
1:56:52 from the righty, Brett Sanchez.
1:56:54 Shakes a couple. Fires home.
1:56:57 Swan into right. It's blooped. It's down
1:56:59 for A BASE HIT. SKOL'S ROUNDING THIRD.
1:57:02 OH MY GOODNESS. PLAY AT THE PLATE, HE'S
1:57:04 SAFE. JASON SWAN WALKS OFF THE SIXTH,
1:57:08 TIES OUR BALLGAME, AND JAKE SKOL
1:57:11 IS 100%.
1:57:16 I am shocked
1:57:18 that Skol got the wave. But that's why
1:57:21 they're the coaching staff and I'm
1:57:23 sitting right here.
1:57:24 >> no doubt about his health right now,
1:57:25 man.
1:57:26 >> Licked out of two bag ball four sprint
1:57:28 and then right there.
1:57:29 >> HE LOOKS LIKE HE'S JOGGING.
1:57:31 >> NOT EVEN GOING FULL SPEED.
1:57:32 >> HEY, THAT'S the MVP. That's X. And
1:57:34 that's Jason Swan.
1:57:37 >> Swanny now one for three today.
1:57:39 Jake Skol.
1:57:42 And and that's one of those that
1:57:43 Jonathan Sunshine Lueders could have
1:57:45 possibly caught coming over his
1:57:46 shoulder. And then I'm not saying I'm
1:57:48 not saying he should have. I'm saying
1:57:49 Skol had to hesitate for a second
1:57:51 >> Yeah, yeah, yeah.
1:57:51 >> in case that ball is caught in right. So
1:57:54 Skol's working on limited time and still
1:57:56 gets that done. Should Is there any
1:57:58 world where Lueders catches that ball?
1:58:01 No. No chance.
1:58:02 >> Nobody's getting that.
1:58:03 >> No, but Skol hesitates and still makes
1:58:06 it home in time. That's pro speed from
1:58:08 X. As Peter Holden's back out to face
1:58:10 Indy Stanley, quasi world's fastest
1:58:12 inning here.
1:58:14 >> And I mean, we're not in serious danger,
1:58:16 but 31 and a half minute half minutes,
1:58:18 give or take. Yep, beginning the top of
1:58:20 the seventh.
1:58:20 >> Yep, you want to move pace along, you
1:58:21 want to make it to the ninth.
1:58:22 >> You're thinking about it. You're all
1:58:23 You're obviously in the party animals
1:58:25 gotten to a groove there of going eight
1:58:27 innings, eight innings, eight innings.
1:58:30 >> Tacoma Washington, was that where you
1:58:31 guys
1:58:32 >> all three games eight innings.
1:58:34 >> Playing the clowns, though, a lot of
1:58:36 offense.
1:58:36 >> Yep, that's a big part of it.
1:58:37 >> Yeah, a lot of offense.
1:58:41 >> 100 combined hits in three games.
1:58:43 >> I remember listening to you in that game
1:58:44 three and you were just
1:58:46 >> Well, what was left of me?
1:58:47 >> You were just finding things to say for
1:58:49 home runs at that point.
1:58:51 >> Yeah, 15 of them.
1:58:52 >> Yeah.
1:58:54 We had what three guys at weekend that
1:58:56 had three I eyes and the party animals
1:58:58 at point and we're just not hitting home
1:58:59 runs.
1:59:04 Peter Holden ball four sprint
1:59:08 second tonight for Indiana Stanley.
1:59:13 Guys been seeing it well. That's where
1:59:16 Peter Holden
1:59:18 that's been the snapfu coming into the
1:59:19 game for pistol Pete
1:59:22 through his 18 innings 13 strike outs 11
1:59:25 ball four sprints.
1:59:27 Those 11 sprints are number that he
1:59:29 would oh Cosgrove fires to second and
1:59:31 gets to the center field. Stanley wants
1:59:33 third.
1:59:34 He's got third.
1:59:38 What an aggressive send. I mean I'm all
1:59:40 for the steal there because you you
1:59:42 don't want to play with pistol over
1:59:44 there at first. You know he can pick you
1:59:45 off. I love the send there but then
1:59:48 that's aggressive on Reese Hampton.
1:59:49 Immediate send yeah yep. But Indy plus
1:59:52 plus runner now infield's got to be in
1:59:54 here for Jordan Hussein.
1:59:58 And Indy's got a lot of moxie when he
2:00:00 plays these party animals.
2:00:02 There is no hate no animosity against
2:00:04 the black and pink.
2:00:07 But there's that added bonus ooh
2:00:10 >> [cheering]
2:00:11 >> when it comes to playing your former
2:00:12 team. Now that
2:00:15 it looked like it may have hit Indy in
2:00:17 foul territory. Yep. It also struck the
2:00:20 third base umpire as well.
2:00:23 That's why you always cheat on the foul
2:00:25 side of the chalk if you're on third.
2:00:28 And there was no getting out of the way
2:00:29 of that one.
2:00:44 Two strikes on Hussein.
2:00:51 Jordan
2:00:59 Payoff. This will be going to use a
2:01:00 strikeout.
2:01:05 >> [music]
2:01:08 >> INSTEAD, HUSSEIN LIFTS IT OUT INTO LEFT.
2:01:11 THIS IS DOWN FOR A BASE HIT.
2:01:15 JORDAN WANTS THREE.
2:01:17 JORDAN HUSSEIN'S GOT THREE.
2:01:20 >> HOW ABOUT [screaming] IT?
2:01:22 ALL THAT DUDE IS IS HUSTLE.
2:01:25 THE CAPTAIN, THE EMOTIONAL LEADER, AND
2:01:27 THIS YEAR THE VOCAL LEADER OF THE Texas
2:01:30 Tailgaters puts ONE IN THE GAP ON A
2:01:33 PAYOFF PITCH AND TURNS IT INTO THREE
2:01:35 BASES, MAN.
2:01:36 Big time answer back after the Party
2:01:39 Animals just walked off the sixth and
2:01:40 then any backflip on a home play.
2:01:42 >> That was your 10 hole, Jordan Hussein,
2:01:44 with a rope.
2:01:46 The eight, nine, and 10 hole
2:01:49 The Texas Tailgaters tonight, all former
2:01:50 Party Animals.
2:01:51 >> Yep.
2:01:52 >> Matchups like these are personal for
2:01:54 them. Especially the way the Tailgaters
2:01:55 got beat around by the Animals last
2:01:57 year. This is a very different Texas
2:01:59 team in 2026.
2:02:01 >> And they've reached base in four of
2:02:02 those nine plate appearances combined
2:02:04 with those three guys.
2:02:05 >> Again, it's not hate, it's not
2:02:06 animosity, but it is personal. You want
2:02:08 to do well against the threads you used
2:02:09 to wear.
2:02:14 And we said about each of those guys
2:02:16 over the course of the last two or three
2:02:17 years, they deserve to be everyday
2:02:19 players somewhere.
2:02:20 >> Yes.
2:02:21 >> Taj Porter, Andy Stanley, Jordan
2:02:23 Hussein, just those three guys we've
2:02:25 been [music] talking about here.
2:02:28 They needed that somewhere.
2:02:29 They got it. With these Texas
2:02:31 Tailgaters. Swing and a miss for Zach
2:02:33 Watson.
2:02:33 >> And when Andy Andy Stanley, I think
2:02:36 outside of center fielders not named
2:02:37 Jackie Bradley Jr. He ranges center
2:02:40 field better than any other defense
2:02:42 defensive center fielder in the sport.
2:02:43 Dior Meadows all-time when it comes to
2:02:45 trick plays, but in his range out there
2:02:47 >> Reese Reese Hampton. I see that's why I
2:02:49 got to push back. I think Reese
2:02:51 Hampton's
2:02:52 That guy makes things look routine.
2:02:54 You've seen it.
2:02:55 >> Oh, Reese is incredible.
2:02:57 I think before that before this year
2:02:59 Reese Hampton was the best defensive
2:03:00 center fielder in the sport.
2:03:02 But there's Jackie Bradley Jr.
2:03:03 >> There's the guy to name, but I mean I I
2:03:05 put I would put Hampton's range next to
2:03:08 JBJ's.
2:03:09 Really? But think about age gap, too.
2:03:12 Age gap, too.
2:03:14 >> Reese is how old? I know Jackie's 36.
2:03:17 >> Yeah, Reese is pushing 30.
2:03:19 >> Doesn't look like it.
2:03:21 >> Well, he's got the ball in his spot.
2:03:22 >> Well, don't we all these days according
2:03:24 to you?
2:03:25 >> Your hair is just thin, all right?
2:03:27 >> It always has been.
2:03:29 >> Yeah, Reese here is about 20 days
2:03:32 30 days out from his 30th birthday.
2:03:35 Looks just like Cameron Stewart.
2:03:36 >> New voice of the clowns, man.
2:03:37 >> Yeah. Jordan Hussein full head of hair.
2:03:40 Him and Chase Acuff pushed each other a
2:03:42 lot, learning from each other.
2:03:43 >> Yep.
2:03:44 >> And now you see what Jordan Hussein
2:03:45 means to the Tailgaters.
2:03:46 >> man, is they learned all their STUFF AT
2:03:48 THE PARTY ANIMALS. YOU'RE EXACTLY RIGHT.
2:03:49 That's the issue.
2:03:50 >> Spent a lot of time with Brony. Now is
2:03:52 >> Dalton Cornett, too. Yeah, back in the
2:03:54 day.
2:03:55 >> 26 straight games Taj has called this
2:03:57 year.
2:03:57 >> Swing and a miss.
2:03:59 Again, I if I if I'm the Texas
2:04:01 Tailgaters, you got to force Pistol Pete
2:04:04 to throw strikes because he's got the
2:04:05 best pickoff move and the best junk on
2:04:08 the Party Animals. He's warning you to
2:04:10 swing He's daring you to swing, and if
2:04:12 you do,
2:04:14 that's what happens.
2:04:15 Now, in the event
2:04:18 You just saw Jordan Hussein with a big
2:04:19 base knock. It was 3-2. Pistol Pete had
2:04:21 to put it in the zone.
2:04:23 >> But even in sometimes
2:04:25 >> He's angry.
2:04:26 >> calls on this conversation. He's been
2:04:27 getting beat up back there tonight. Had
2:04:29 a foul ball that knocked off his mask
2:04:31 earlier. This one called his throwing
2:04:32 hand.
2:04:38 Dude's tough.
2:04:44 K Mart having another great night.
2:04:46 Ball four sprint, double and a two run
2:04:47 single his last time up.
2:04:51 Trying to get that average over 400.
2:04:59 493 OBP is ooh just eclipsed 500. Came
2:05:03 into the game at 493.
2:05:09 Still sitting on history, man.
2:05:12 He needs just one more. Ya ya, I need
2:05:13 it. I need it, Drake Toll.
2:05:15 >> If this count gets to 3-2, he's got a
2:05:17 real shot.
2:05:17 >> Yeah.
2:05:18 >> [cheering]
2:05:18 >> He's been good against lefties this year
2:05:20 as well.
2:05:23 Ooh.
2:05:24 >> [cheering]
2:05:26 >> The sound of the bat. That's stuff you
2:05:28 hear from Jordan Brewer, from Jake
2:05:30 Skole,
2:05:31 Jackie Bradley Jr., Kyle Martin.
2:05:35 That's a different kind of noise.
2:05:42 Kyle Martin, DEEP RIGHT CENTER FIELD.
2:05:45 REESE HAMPTON LOOKS UP AT THE FENCE
2:05:51 and has it for out number three.
2:05:53 >> That is the second time tonight that
2:05:54 we've seen warning track power from Kyle
2:05:57 Martin.
2:05:58 >> It's time for Don't Stop Believing as
2:06:00 the Tailgaters lead the inning 1-0.
2:06:02 >> everyone who's ABLE TO GET UP out of
2:06:05 your seats, on your feet. Get those
2:06:08 light up wristbands up in the air and
2:06:10 waving side to side as we welcome
2:06:13 Nashville's own Party Down to the field
2:06:17 as we all join in together to sing
2:06:20 Don't Stop Believing.
2:06:26 >> Just a small town girl
2:06:29 living in a lonely
2:06:32 world.
2:06:34 She took the midnight train going
2:06:36 anywhere.
2:06:42 Just a city boy.
2:06:46 Born and raised in
2:06:50 He took the midnight train going
2:06:53 anywhere.
2:07:14 A singer in a smoky room.
2:07:18 The smell of wine and
2:07:22 For a smile [singing and music] they can
2:07:23 share the night. It goes on and on
2:07:27 and on
2:07:28 and on.
2:07:30 Strangers [music]
2:07:31 waiting
2:07:35 up and down the boulevard.
2:07:37 >> [singing and music]
2:07:38 >> Their shadows
2:07:40 searching in the night.
2:07:45 Saying don't
2:07:46 stop.
2:07:48 >> Oh Drake, absolutely flabbergasted.
2:07:50 What's happening? We're still in the
2:07:51 middle of this don't STOP BELIEVING AND
2:07:53 MATTHEW FLETCHER THE NEW TAILGATERS are
2:07:54 There's a drum set on THE
2:07:56 ON THE FIELD.
2:07:58 THE BAND IS ON THE FIELD.
2:08:04 Matthew Fletcher in the game for the
2:08:06 Texas Tailgaters.
2:08:09 And he comes drove into the band.
2:08:11 Jonathan Sunshine Luthers. That's two of
2:08:14 them.
2:08:15 Bucket bucket.
2:08:17 Making it 12 to 7 now in the trick play
2:08:19 battle. Matthew Fletcher, pride of
2:08:22 LaSalle, average division three
2:08:23 specialist. Just had nine walks last
2:08:26 year with the senior and has quickly
2:08:27 been finding his groove in the Nanners
2:08:28 ball. Had two scoreless innings his last
2:08:31 outing out.
2:08:33 >> Brent, the Texas Tailgaters are very
2:08:34 likely going to win the equalizer point
2:08:36 tonight, which is no surprise. They're
2:08:37 the best team in the Banana Ball
2:08:39 Championship League in that category.
2:08:43 >> Yeah, I mean, it's going to be The
2:08:44 Animals need runs and and dust points
2:08:47 very quickly.
2:08:48 >> It's going to be the seventh time
2:08:49 Obviously, they can get on the equalizer
2:08:50 point. It's going to be the seventh time
2:08:51 they've won it this year.
2:08:53 And obviously, the Coconuts had an
2:08:55 opportunity to win it tonight as the
2:08:56 home team. So, they will surpass the
2:08:57 Coconuts as the team who's won it the
2:08:59 most in this sport.
2:09:00 >> 3-0.
2:09:03 >> Wow.
2:09:04 Same exact spot as the last one.
2:09:06 >> Right down Broadway.
2:09:14 Let's see if Reese or tries for second.
2:09:16 He's rolling.
2:09:18 Right back to first.
2:09:19 >> Now, in a position, Drake, where you're
2:09:21 on a bit of a time crunch, you might
2:09:23 want to encourage Reese to try to get to
2:09:24 second.
2:09:25 >> in scoring position, also because you're
2:09:26 trying to get that run. But that run
2:09:28 means so much because who's hitting
2:09:29 behind as you see the stats this year
2:09:31 from Matthew Fletcher? Who's hitting
2:09:32 behind Reese Hampton?
2:09:34 >> TJ Reeves.
2:09:34 >> TJ Reeves.
2:09:39 >> Who is now tied for fifth
2:09:42 in the Banana Ball Championship League
2:09:43 in home runs with six of them.
2:09:45 As Tanner Thomas notched his seventh
2:09:46 earlier tonight.
2:09:54 Ooh, THAT'S A FAIR
2:09:54 >> BALL, BUT JORDAN BAR IS ON TOP OF IT.
2:09:57 Does not have time for the throw. It was
2:09:59 just incredible play to get banana ball
2:10:01 into glove, and TJ Reeves has a single
2:10:04 that didn't leave the infield.
2:10:05 >> And for now, that saves the inning.
2:10:06 >> That gets by Jordan Bar. Easily coming
2:10:09 home right there is going to be Reese
2:10:11 Hampton, and TJ Reeves ends up at
2:10:12 second, and would have represented the
2:10:14 inning-winning run.
2:10:14 >> Yep.
2:10:18 >> Chase Eikhoff.
2:10:19 He's a swing away.
2:10:22 Chosen has not hit a home run yet in
2:10:23 2026.
2:10:27 >> You know what he did last year, albeit
2:10:29 at Nissan Stadium here in Nashville.
2:10:31 >> Brett, can I give you a note on why I
2:10:33 think this inning's unfolding the way it
2:10:34 has for Fletcher?
2:10:35 >> Talk to me.
2:10:36 >> He got a quick first out.
2:10:37 >> Yep.
2:10:37 >> And he was taking his time going off the
2:10:39 mound. That's into left field, down for
2:10:41 a base hit.
2:10:43 Aycock loads him up.
2:10:45 Fletcher's taking his time going back to
2:10:47 the mound, walking a bit. And he gets
2:10:48 spurred from Justice
2:10:50 >> and from Taj Porter. Hey, hurry, go. We
2:10:51 got to go. There's time. There's time.
2:10:52 >> Do you see Fletcher? Do you see it right
2:10:53 now? He just He just lost the ball on
2:10:55 the mound. Porter tossed it back to him.
2:10:57 Fletcher couldn't catch it. He's gotten
2:10:59 a little bit too sped up. And as you
2:11:01 see, he's kind of jogging back to the
2:11:02 mound. He's got He is uncomfortable.
2:11:04 >> And this ain't the dude you want to be
2:11:05 facing when you're
2:11:06 >> No. Already hit a home run tonight.
2:11:07 >> Yep.
2:11:09 >> Only one one regulation grand slam in
2:11:11 Banana Ball history. TANNER THOMAS WON'T
2:11:13 HAVE IT HERE, BUT he will HAVE A
2:11:14 WALK-OFF.
2:11:16 HERE COMES MARK SWINGING AROUND THIRD.
2:11:18 T-BONE
2:11:20 WALKS OFF THE SEVENTH. THE PARTY ANIMALS
2:11:23 LEAD THIS BALL GAME THREE POINTS TO TWO.
2:11:26 TANNER TAKING THOMAS.
2:11:29 >> [cheering]
2:11:31 >> Black and Pink
2:11:33 retake the lead.
2:11:39 So, you're going in the books as a
2:11:40 double for Tanner.
2:11:42 >> Look at my showman right now, in case
2:11:44 anybody's wondering at home.
2:11:46 >> Yep.
2:11:47 Now, remember this score is three points
2:11:48 to three points. If you consider the
2:11:50 equalizer, let's take a look at our
2:11:51 trick plays so far tonight. Most of them
2:11:54 coming from [music] the Texas
2:11:56 Tailgaters. But we started off with the
2:11:57 Party Animals. Garrett Delano.
2:12:00 Getting into the action. The pitcher
2:12:01 helping himself out. The man, Brett
2:12:04 Loftis. No team has been better than the
2:12:06 guys in pinstripes tonight, those Texas
2:12:08 [music] Tailgaters. They lead the trick
2:12:09 play battle right now.
2:12:11 >> Yeah, they just continue to get
2:12:12 double-digit trick plays. They continue
2:12:14 to show up to the ballpark as the away
2:12:16 team. And the home team has to know it's
2:12:19 one to nothing when we show up with the
2:12:20 equalizer point this year and right now
2:12:23 I mean the party animals would have to
2:12:25 get Drake
2:12:27 five trick plays in this inning to even
2:12:30 tie up the trick play. And if it's me
2:12:31 Drake
2:12:32 >> Don't do it.
2:12:33 >> Don't do it.
2:12:33 >> 100%
2:12:35 >> 100%
2:12:36 >> Well, let me say this Brett. If if
2:12:37 you're watching right now
2:12:39 10:15 Eastern time on the Party Animals
2:12:41 YouTube page, you probably seen a lot of
2:12:42 banana ball. You're probably one of the
2:12:44 OGs hanging out watching the score. You
2:12:45 know the game, right?
2:12:46 >> This is some tier three banana ball.
2:12:48 >> If you go forcing the issue right now
2:12:51 and you have four trick plays missed in
2:12:53 this half inning trying to chase that
2:12:54 equalizer at that point giving up three
2:12:57 or four runs, losing this inning and
2:12:59 losing the equalizer, you bury yourself.
2:13:01 At some point you say, "Hey, let's let
2:13:03 it play out. Let's give them that
2:13:05 equalizer and go three to three into the
2:13:07 ninth or try to walk off this eighth."
2:13:09 Let me take you back. 2025 post season
2:13:11 game two Party Animals Tailgaters. Party
2:13:14 Animals come out
2:13:14 >> top of the eighth inning
2:13:16 >> Yeah.
2:13:16 >> They try to win the equalizer point.
2:13:17 They lose the eighth inning. They lose
2:13:19 the equalizer point. Then it's a tie
2:13:20 ball game. We end up going to showdown.
2:13:22 >> Yep.
2:13:22 >> Here tonight, you might as well already
2:13:24 go. It's a 3-3 ball game, but the Party
2:13:26 Animals can still win the eighth. As can
2:13:28 the Texas Tailgaters. Dylan Porter is
2:13:29 going to be the man to try to protect
2:13:31 this three to two lead for now for the
2:13:33 Party Animals.
2:13:34 >> Jordan Barth at the plate. He is the
2:13:36 four hole for Texas.
2:13:38 Barth
2:13:42 have a tattoo of two seams.
2:13:45 They can wear home for free tonight.
2:13:47 >> Second time tonight he's been hit by a
2:13:49 pitch.
2:13:50 >> That's why you wear the elbow guard.
2:13:51 >> Justice, yeah. Right above that guard.
2:13:56 Throwing the
2:13:58 mid
2:13:59 and give way to
2:14:00 >> Taylor Justice
2:14:01 >> Owen Miller, of course.
2:14:02 >> That's the second time Jordan Barth has
2:14:04 been hit tonight. Yep. No team has hit
2:14:06 more batters than the Party Animals.
2:14:09 If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge
2:14:10 a ball.
2:14:11 >> And no team has been hit
2:14:14 less than the Party Animals.
2:14:15 >> Over on offense.
2:14:16 >> Correct. Correct.
2:14:19 They're givers, not takers.
2:14:22 >> That pitch is there. Taylor Justice is
2:14:24 really
2:14:26 >> He never turned around or used an umpire
2:14:28 in a
2:14:28 >> He's had a tough night with Hunter Ives
2:14:29 behind the dish.
2:14:32 He's given him a nod a couple times.
2:14:36 >> Swing and a miss from Justice.
2:14:38 And again, looks back at Hunter Ives,
2:14:39 gets his mature, walks back to the
2:14:41 dugout with a K.
2:14:42 >> Taylor, natural catcher. Anytime you see
2:14:44 a guy that catches, and especially with
2:14:46 the mildness and meekness of Taylor
2:14:48 Justice, when he turned around and let
2:14:49 the home plate umpire go, "Hey, you took
2:14:51 that AB away from me." That tells you
2:14:53 everything you need to know.
2:14:54 >> And those two guys will get dinner
2:14:55 together later.
2:14:56 >> They sure will.
2:14:58 >> The beauty of this organization, umpires
2:15:00 to players, even broadcasters, all get
2:15:02 dinner together after every game.
2:15:05 Little inside banana ball for you.
2:15:10 Yeah, I don't think the Party Animals
2:15:12 defensively are thinking trick plays
2:15:13 whatsoever right now.
2:15:15 >> They shouldn't be.
2:15:16 >> No.
2:15:18 Should be worried about throwing up a
2:15:19 zero.
2:15:19 >> Yep.
2:15:21 It's a good pitch.
2:15:23 >> Jose Gonzalez Jr. entered the game
2:15:26 earlier tonight for Jason Arn.
2:15:29 And then Arn went two for two.
2:15:32 Brother started his evening one for one
2:15:33 with a single.
2:15:38 Two-two here.
2:15:45 Swing and a miss.
2:15:47 Dylan Porter, consecutive strikeout in a
2:15:49 massive moment. And what I love about
2:15:51 this
2:15:52 is
2:15:53 Porter likes the the pistol squad, the
2:15:55 trick play.
2:15:56 But given that there's a runner on
2:15:57 first, he can't even consider it. It'd
2:15:59 be an immediate pickoff.
2:16:01 >> Right.
2:16:03 >> So, Por- the the The easy for Porter.
2:16:06 Just go out and focus on pitching.
2:16:08 >> We also have a comment in the YouTube
2:16:09 chat saying the Tailgaters should just
2:16:10 go up there and strike out.
2:16:11 >> They're still trying to win this inning.
2:16:12 >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
2:16:13 >> And they're up by five points. They've
2:16:14 already won the equalizer.
2:16:16 >> They've won the equalizer effectively.
2:16:17 Yeah.
2:16:18 >> So, you should be going up there still
2:16:19 trying to produce runs in this scenario,
2:16:21 even if you're the Tailgaters, which
2:16:23 obviously they're trying to do, but
2:16:25 you're really getting pitches here from
2:16:26 Dylan Porter thus far.
2:16:33 >> Max due here, man.
2:16:35 >> Big time.
2:16:36 >> It'd be huge.
2:16:48 >> Wow.
2:16:49 >> That's a fair gripe from Dylan Porter
2:16:51 and Andy Cosgrove behind the dish.
2:16:59 >> Swing the pendulum here. That's 2-2 now
2:17:01 at 3-1.
2:17:02 >> Oh my goodness.
2:17:06 >> Big pitch [music] coming from Dylan
2:17:07 Porter.
2:17:12 Three balls, two strikes.
2:17:15 Here at the top of THE EIGHTH.
2:17:17 RUNNER GOES! DOESN'T MATTER! DYLAN
2:17:19 PORTER!
2:17:21 THREE STRAIGHT STRIKE OUTS FOR THE PARTY
2:17:23 ANIMALS.
2:17:24 CALM, COOL, COLLECTED.
2:17:28 To the bottom of the eighth we go with
2:17:30 the Party Animals and Texas Tailgaters.
2:17:33 Now, due to the equalizer point, are
2:17:34 tied three points apiece, but the
2:17:37 Animals can walk off the bottom of the
2:17:39 eighth.
2:17:39 >> Oh, no. They're devouring him. No, no,
2:17:42 no. They're devouring him. They got to
2:17:43 stop. Stop!
2:17:45 He's just a boy!
2:17:48 Are they What is it? Are they trying to
2:17:49 take his belt off?
2:17:50 >> I don't know what they're doing.
2:17:51 >> What are they doing to him?
2:17:53 Dalton Pond untucking his shirt. They're
2:17:54 getting his shirt off!
2:17:57 What Oh, he's getting a little spanking!
2:17:59 >> Can we show this?
2:18:00 >> I don't know what's happening, AND I'M
2:18:02 NOT SURE if we show this?
2:18:03 >> I'm not sure if it's legal. I Wow, okay.
2:18:05 Dylan Porter.
2:18:07 >> Brett Allen.
2:18:08 >> Brett Allen comes into the game to pitch
2:18:09 for the Texas Tailgaters. The madman
2:18:12 from Newcastle, Australia.
2:18:15 >> Big time task for him, Drake Toll. Come
2:18:17 in here
2:18:18 and protect now a tie ballgame at 3-3
2:18:21 due to the equalizer play.
2:18:22 >> Doughty, see the numbers inflated his
2:18:24 last time out though. Came in in a
2:18:26 pretty low leverage situation
2:18:28 in Charlotte.
2:18:30 >> He was able to win that ballgame.
2:18:31 Tailgaters were up 7-3 already and they
2:18:32 won the ballgame. Had to just come in
2:18:34 and get three outs. Did so in three
2:18:35 batters. Now Brett comes in in a much
2:18:38 bigger scenario here for the boys in
2:18:40 blue and orange tonight.
2:18:45 >> Yep. Pitching staffs have combined
2:18:47 tonight for 16 strikeouts, by the way.
2:18:50 >> Is that good?
2:18:51 >> The Animals have dished out 11
2:18:54 to five for the Texas Tailgaters. Here
2:18:56 comes Bryson Bloomer.
2:18:58 He is
2:19:00 >> Mhm.
2:19:02 >> your eight hole here.
2:19:04 Let's see if Mike Bavasi goes to the
2:19:06 golden batter in that nine spot for
2:19:08 Dustin Baber.
2:19:09 That's what he's been doing quite a bit
2:19:11 this year is Bloomer up the middle.
2:19:12 TOUGH PLAY FOR HUSSEIN. HUSSEIN! YES!
2:19:17 >> GREAT job by Taylor Justice to
2:19:19 reestablish himself back on the bag
2:19:21 there.
2:19:22 Heck of a play by J5. And then look at
2:19:24 this. Justice well
2:19:26 >> We'll see it right here.
2:19:27 >> Good good angle.
2:19:28 >> Reestablishes his foot back on the bag.
2:19:30 >> Bavasi is at the dish.
2:19:32 No golden batter here, Drake.
2:19:33 >> And that means effectively the Party
2:19:35 Animals will not use their golden batter
2:19:36 tonight.
2:19:38 Because going into the ninth, you'll
2:19:39 have the top of your order due up.
2:19:43 >> Yeah, if you go three up, three down
2:19:44 here in 8-9-10, you're going to have
2:19:45 1-2-3 due up in the ninth.
2:19:47 >> Correct. That's why you look at using
2:19:49 the golden batter in the eighth here.
2:19:50 >> 100%.
2:19:51 Tailgaters have done that the whole year
2:19:53 as well.
2:19:53 >> Yeah, they have golden batters
2:19:54 >> It's It's the right It's the right Yeah,
2:19:55 it's the right It's the right strategy.
2:19:56 I'm not saying you got to do it for Babe
2:19:58 Ruth. You can do it for Bloomer, Babe
2:19:59 Ruth, Ballard, whoever you'd like to.
2:20:02 But it is the right move and a great
2:20:03 take from Dustin Babe Ruth. It is the
2:20:05 right move to go golden batter in the
2:20:06 eighth here given what the order is.
2:20:12 No disrespect to anybody else in the
2:20:14 bottom of the order. I'm definitely not
2:20:16 golden battering for Mikey Ballard.
2:20:18 >> Yeah.
2:20:19 >> Even though he's your 10th hole.
2:20:20 >> Right.
2:20:23 >> AND DUSTIN BABE RUTH.
2:20:25 CAJONES works the ball for sprint. Who
2:20:28 needs the golden batter for the ginger
2:20:30 ninja? We can work an AB like that.
2:20:33 That's a
2:20:34 stand-up plate appearance and a free 90
2:20:37 ft.
2:20:37 >> Oh-oh.
2:20:45 >> Mikey, the rookie.
2:20:48 Mikey Ballard roped into left.
2:20:51 AND IT IS OFF THE GLOVE OF ZACK WATSON.
2:20:54 BABE RUTH IS ROUNDING THIRD. MIKEY
2:20:56 BALLARD
2:20:58 MAY HAVE JUST GIVEN THE PARTY ANIMALS
2:20:59 THE LEAD GOING INTO THE NINTH INNING. HE
2:21:01 DID.
2:21:03 >> [cheering]
2:21:03 >> DUSTIN BABE RUTH GUTSY. MIKEY BALLARD
2:21:06 DELIVERS.
2:21:08 >> [cheering]
2:21:10 >> IT IS FOUR TO THREE. THE ANIMALS LEAD
2:21:12 WITH A SAVE OPPORTUNITY HEADED THEIR WAY
2:21:15 IN THE NINTH.
2:21:17 >> TOLD you I wouldn't golden batter for
2:21:18 Mikey Ballard.
2:21:19 >> And you shouldn't golden batter for
2:21:21 Dustin Babe Ruth, either.
2:21:22 Mike Vavasour says, "I trust my guys.
2:21:25 Bat in their hand."
2:21:28 And it's 4-3 Animals. Party Pandas send
2:21:30 us to the ninth.
2:21:31 >> That
2:21:32 means it's time to take a look up at the
2:21:35 scoreboard.
2:21:37 Through eight innings,
2:21:40 the Party Animals lead four points to
2:21:42 two. However, the Tailgaters have
2:21:45 clinched the equalizer point
2:21:49 by having more more plays than the Party
2:21:51 Animals, which makes our score 4 to 3 as
2:21:56 we head to the or head to the final
2:21:59 inning. But, here's the thing about
2:22:01 Banana Ball fans. In the final inning,
2:22:05 every single run scored counts as a
2:22:08 point. Which means the Tailgaters need
2:22:10 to score at least once here in the top
2:22:13 of the ninth to send us to THE BOTTOM
2:22:15 HALF. NASHVILLE, YOUR ENERGY HAS BEEN
2:22:18 ELECTRIC ALL [screaming] GAME LONG, BUT
2:22:22 WE ARE NOT DONE YET. IT ALL COMES DOWN
2:22:27 TO THIS. [screaming]
2:22:29 THIS IS
2:22:30 the final
2:22:33 inning.
2:22:35 >> [screaming]
2:22:38 >> Here we go. The ninth nearly underway,
2:22:41 but the Party Animals and Texas
2:22:43 Tailgaters teams have taken the field
2:22:46 for a special guest.
2:22:47 >> Grammy nominee, with 14
2:22:50 number one singles, and over 9 billion
2:22:54 streams, country music superstar,
2:22:59 CHRIS YOUNG.
2:23:05 >> [cheering]
2:23:12 [music]
2:23:18 [music]
2:23:19 >> YEAH, I think I'm going to leave. I just
2:23:22 had that one drink, and we've all got to
2:23:25 be up [singing] early,
2:23:28 boys. We ought to shut her down. Just
2:23:31 take it to the house before anybody
2:23:34 starts getting crazy,
2:23:37 somebody's starting walking across the
2:23:39 floor.
2:23:41 Before I got to do the door,
2:23:44 >> [singing]
2:23:46 >> I don't know, somebody just bought a
2:23:48 shot of that stuff.
2:23:51 I just might have to stay
2:23:55 out with the time y'all
2:23:57 having the
2:23:58 good times
2:24:00 all night long. I should be halfway home
2:24:02 but I'm not.
2:24:07 >> [music]
2:24:12 [music]
2:24:33 >> You walk
2:24:34 and walk to the
2:24:36 music what you do.
2:24:40 I'm just sitting on a stool and you sit
2:24:43 next to me then I ain't moving.
2:24:48 They won't cut us [singing] off unless
2:24:49 [music] I say so.
2:24:52 Right now I ain't got nowhere to go. No,
2:24:55 no, no.
2:24:57 I didn't come here to leave. I want the
2:25:00 whole bottle. I didn't come in to crawl.
2:25:03 I came in full throttle. Between
2:25:06 partners and friends I
2:25:08 ain't saying.
2:25:09 The way I'm leaving it too. I didn't
2:25:12 come here to leave. Taking a killer shot
2:25:14 from the same old bottle.
2:25:17 I'll take it over the playlist and
2:25:19 playing sad songs.
2:25:21 A little something I need to set myself
2:25:24 free.
2:25:25 Damn right I came here to stay. I didn't
2:25:27 [music] come here to leave.
2:25:31 I didn't come here to leave.
2:25:48 >> [music]
2:26:12 [music]
2:26:38 [music]
2:26:41 [cheering]
2:26:46 >> Chris Young, special guest of the party
2:26:48 animals, showing some love to the Texas
2:26:50 Tailgaters. What a way to send us to the
2:26:53 ninth inning.
2:26:55 >> 14 number one hits.
2:26:57 That's a star, man.
2:27:00 My childhood music.
2:27:01 >> 14 more than me?
2:27:02 >> Hey, by the way, that red F-150, that's
2:27:04 heard a lot of Chris Young over the
2:27:06 years.
2:27:06 >> That is one less than Kyle Martin home
2:27:08 runs this year to put it
2:27:10 >> Let me [laughter] give you that
2:27:10 perspective.
2:27:12 >> Speaking of that guy, you see eight,
2:27:13 nine, and 10 do up for the Tailgaters.
2:27:15 >> Yep.
2:27:16 >> I would surmise a golden batter would be
2:27:18 used here, obviously.
2:27:19 >> But but Brett, we said that earlier, a
2:27:21 couple savvy plate appearances from Andy
2:27:23 Stanley, who's worked some ball four
2:27:24 sprints. Hussein's two for three with a
2:27:27 single and a triple, I should say.
2:27:30 I mean,
2:27:31 those are all three guys
2:27:33 >> Well, you have Kyle Martin's well
2:27:34 >> Well, there there you go.
2:27:36 >> [laughter]
2:27:36 >> THAT SPOILS THAT.
2:27:37 >> YEP, WELL, IT'S don't have really talk
2:27:39 about that one anymore.
2:27:40 >> By the way, Indian ties both have their
2:27:41 bats, so
2:27:42 >> Yep, that would mean that
2:27:44 likely Jordan Hussey out of the 10 hole
2:27:46 will be going to battle for
2:27:48 by Kyle Martin.
2:27:52 Take everything I was going to say and
2:27:53 throw that ONE AWAY.
2:27:55 ALL RIGHT, it's the ninth inning.
2:27:57 All three that were slated to do that
2:27:59 were slated up, Porter, Stanley, and
2:28:01 Hussey, former Party Animals. Dodge
2:28:04 Porter will get a shot.
2:28:05 He's over three, struck out in his last
2:28:06 at the plate.
2:28:10 Porter faced four guys in the eighth.
2:28:12 Hit the first one, struck out the next
2:28:13 three.
2:28:23 How did we get here, man?
2:28:25 It feels like the Texas Tailgaters in
2:28:27 the middle of this contest had had
2:28:28 control over the game.
2:28:30 >> Party Animals seventh and eighth
2:28:31 innings.
2:28:32 You mentioned it, Matthew Fletcher got
2:28:34 sped up here in the
2:28:35 >> Cole Stanley and Tanner Thomas, two-run
2:28:36 walk-off double there in the seventh.
2:28:37 >> Right on, yeah.
2:28:38 >> This is not This is not on Brett Sanchez
2:28:40 at all.
2:28:41 Showed tonight.
2:28:42 >> Oh my, clutch single from Taz Porter.
2:28:46 His first base hit of the game is a big
2:28:48 one.
2:28:48 >> Massive storyline now as Taz gets on his
2:28:50 first. Jacob Pepper single, who's been
2:28:52 picked off twice tonight. He's going to
2:28:54 come in to run.
2:28:55 First time he was picked off, Garrett
2:28:57 Lena was screaming at him, daring him to
2:28:59 run.
2:29:00 Took two steps off the bag, picked off.
2:29:04 Second time he was cut down.
2:29:06 It was that savvy lefty Peter Holden.
2:29:09 He's got the best pickoff move in the
2:29:10 sport.
2:29:12 Comes in to E Stanley.
2:29:15 Teammates with Dylan Porter on the Party
2:29:16 Animals in 2024.
2:29:23 Swing and a miss.
2:29:25 >> Corpus Christi, Texas, game one. Indian
2:29:28 Stanley, solo shot in the top of the
2:29:30 ninth to tie that ball game up at three
2:29:32 to three against the Firefighters.
2:29:36 He could get a go-ahead shot here,
2:29:37 Drake. I'm just saying.
2:29:40 Up and out from Porter.
2:29:49 The one-two.
2:29:52 What fight
2:29:55 from Indy Stanley.
2:30:11 >> [cheering]
2:30:13 >> Stanley fights.
2:30:17 These 10,000 people here, Drake, they're
2:30:19 loud.
2:30:22 This environment
2:30:24 the ninth inning in Banana Ball.
2:30:27 Incredible.
2:30:30 After a couple of foul balls, Porter
2:30:32 misses.
2:30:37 Two-two.
2:30:44 STANLEY
2:30:45 ON THE INFIELD SWINGS THERE.
2:30:48 >> [cheering]
2:30:50 >> And here comes the Golden Batter of the
2:30:51 Texas Tailgaters, and it can only be one
2:30:54 man,
2:30:55 one bat.
2:31:01 Welcome to the unction.
2:31:03 >> The Texas Tailgaters are invoking the
2:31:06 Golden Batter Rule. Now batting in place
2:31:10 of Jordan Hussein is the Tailgaters
2:31:13 Golden Batter. Please welcome KYLE KMART
2:31:18 MARTIN.
2:31:21 >> 17th Golden Batter appearance of the
2:31:23 year, Drake Toll. That is a BANANA BALL
2:31:25 RECORD.
2:31:27 15 HOME RUNS THIS YEAR. TIED THE
2:31:30 SINGLE-SEASON BANANA BALL RECORD.
2:31:32 RIGHT HERE.
2:31:34 The most important stat
2:31:36 he represents the go-ahead point for the
2:31:39 Texas Tailgaters at the top of the
2:31:40 ninth.
2:31:42 Porter's going to fill the zone up for
2:31:43 him.
2:31:45 Good on good.
2:31:47 WHAT DOES THAT RIGHT ARM HAVE?
2:31:49 Swing and a miss.
2:31:53 K-Mart's first home run in this sport
2:31:55 came as a Golden Batter in Frisco,
2:31:57 Texas.
2:31:59 Pipparsick off of first. Pipparsick
2:32:01 runs.
2:32:02 A foul ball from Kyle Martin
2:32:05 sends Pipparsick back to first. The
2:32:07 count is 0-2.
2:32:09 Will Porter attack
2:32:12 or waste one?
2:32:19 No balls, two strikes ON THE GOLDEN
2:32:21 BATTER KYLE MARTIN,
2:32:23 the league's best hitter.
2:32:27 A tip outside from Dylan Porter.
2:32:41 One ball, two strikes.
2:32:45 PORTER.
2:32:48 DOUBLE PLAY BALL. THERE'S ONE.
2:32:50 NO CHANCE FOR TWO.
2:32:52 A fielder's choice from the Golden
2:32:55 Batter Kyle Martin and Zach Watson.
2:32:58 One for four tonight, has struck out
2:33:00 three times. The game is in his hands.
2:33:03 >> Also important to note here, Drake,
2:33:05 K-Mart will not be the one running at
2:33:07 first. Jordan Huseman, who he had in
2:33:08 place up, can go run at first. So, you
2:33:11 do still have plus-plus speed on the
2:33:13 base path.
2:33:14 >> And if Watson reaches, no need to. You
2:33:16 can go back to Pipparsick.
2:33:20 Swing and a miss.
2:33:22 Dillon Porter can close out night one in
2:33:25 Nashville.
2:33:27 And send the Party Animals back to 500
2:33:29 on the campaign.
2:33:33 Swing and a miss.
2:33:36 Dillon Porter's RIGHT ARM
2:33:40 CAN BOOST THE ANIMALS TO THEIR THIRD
2:33:42 STRAIGHT VICTORY.
2:33:48 Throw down! IT'S OVER!
2:33:50 THE PARTY ANIMALS
2:33:51 KNOCK off the number one team IN THE
2:33:54 BANANA BALL CHAMPIONSHIP LEAGUE ON NIGHT
2:33:56 ONE IN NASHVILLE OFF THE ARM OF ANDY
2:33:59 COSGROVE.
2:34:01 >> [cheering]
2:34:03 [screaming]
2:34:04 >> 4-3 the final score.
2:34:10 IN BANANA BALL'S MOST STOLEN RIVALRY,
2:34:13 IT COMES DOWN TO JAKE PIPPERSIC
2:34:17 BEING PICKED OFF TWICE, JORDAN HUSSEIN A
2:34:20 FUMBLE AT SECOND BASE, AND THE ANIMALS
2:34:22 TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE MISTAKES. AND NOW
2:34:25 the boys dance.
2:34:29 >> Party
2:34:30 Animals, baby.
2:35:23 >> Well, this is a gentleman's competition
2:35:25 when these two meet.
2:35:27 >> [cheering]
2:35:27 >> This is just game one in the middle of
2:35:29 June in a series in Nashville.
2:35:32 But it feels so much bigger when these
2:35:34 two get together.
2:35:39 The Party Animals have not been 500
2:35:41 since the last time they played the
2:35:42 Texas Tailgaters in Sacramento,
2:35:44 California.
2:35:46 Maddie Warren's down on the field though
2:35:47 before we even get to our show of the
2:35:48 night with our special guest, Chris
2:35:50 Young.
2:35:51 >> Hey guys, I'm here with Chris Young,
2:35:53 like you said, and we are just honored
2:35:55 that you took time out of your day to be
2:35:56 here for Banana Ball, but even more so
2:35:58 because you've had kind of a crazy day
2:36:01 to get here. Walk me through today's
2:36:03 schedule for you.
2:36:04 >> Yeah, well, it's Nashville, so of course
2:36:06 it was trying to rain on everybody.
2:36:08 Um luckily it didn't do that, it cleared
2:36:10 out. There's an amazing game, but I was
2:36:13 actually at the Opry right before I
2:36:15 walked out on the field. So uh I played
2:36:19 the Opry tonight, played stuff for my
2:36:21 new album, I didn't come here to leave
2:36:22 uh with Shaylen and Breland, and
2:36:25 um then got to come out here and and be
2:36:27 a part of Banana Ball tonight. It was
2:36:29 absolutely amazing.
2:36:30 >> Now, you got here, like you said, you
2:36:31 got here, hit the ground running, did
2:36:33 your performance, but you got to catch
2:36:34 about a half inning of Banana Ball. What
2:36:37 did you think?
2:36:38 >> I mean, obviously I've watched it on TV.
2:36:40 Everybody, if you've never been, you
2:36:42 need to come experience this in person.
2:36:45 It is so much fun. Everybody here is
2:36:48 absolutely fantastic. All the players,
2:36:51 all the staff, you, I Everybody's just
2:36:54 been incredibly nice. You got to come
2:36:56 see a game in person.
2:36:58 >> Hey, coming from the guy who performed
2:37:00 at the Opry stage and then came right
2:37:02 here. Brett Drake. Chris Young.
2:37:06 >> Yeah, let's take a visit back. Thank
2:37:08 you, Maddie. Chris Young to his
2:37:09 performance earlier tonight. And by
2:37:11 earlier, I mean about 12 minutes ago. He
2:37:13 brought both teams in and brought the
2:37:15 house down. 10,000 strong here in
2:37:17 Nashville watching a live performance
2:37:19 from a guy
2:37:20 who also gave a live performance at a
2:37:22 little place called the Grand Ole Opry,
2:37:24 about 15 minutes away from us
2:37:26 an hour ago.
2:37:27 >> Yeah, I mean that's the most prestigious
2:37:29 place you can play in all of country
2:37:31 music. And then Chris Young, like you
2:37:33 said, comes up in a Bananaball game. 14
2:37:34 number one hits. He's been playing
2:37:37 big-time music for over a couple
2:37:38 decades. And I tell you what, Jake
2:37:39 Stoll, I got a guy who's been playing
2:37:41 all the hits in Bananaball for quite
2:37:42 some time. I'd say the face of the Party
2:37:45 Animals. What you our showman of
2:37:47 the night, Manny.
2:37:48 >> Double duty for Manny Warren, huh?
2:37:52 >> Our showman of the night, without a
2:37:54 doubt, after that home run that I didn't
2:37:56 get to talk to you after. So sorry about
2:37:58 that. Beautiful hit and a walk-off in
2:38:00 the inning. You were just seeing the
2:38:01 ball great at the plate today. What were
2:38:03 you seeing up there?
2:38:04 >> I mean, I was just trying to go up the
2:38:05 middle. I mean, I think hitting is all
2:38:07 luck. And if you get the opportunity to
2:38:08 get a good swing on a ball, you get a
2:38:09 good swing. And I mean, there's seven
2:38:11 outfielders or seven fielders out there
2:38:13 that you got to, you know, get a hit
2:38:14 with. Like, pretty impossible. I just
2:38:16 got lucky. That's all it was.
2:38:17 >> Now, you started the season coming back
2:38:19 from some injury recovery. So, you were
2:38:21 really just hitting at the plate, not
2:38:23 really playing in the field. Had a
2:38:24 little bit of a frustrating first at
2:38:25 bat, but make an insane catch in left
2:38:28 field. How nice is it to be back to
2:38:29 being able to kind of write some things
2:38:32 on the other side of the ball instead of
2:38:33 having things just be happening at the
2:38:35 plate.
2:38:35 >> I mean, you just got to separate it.
2:38:37 Defense and hitting are two different
2:38:38 things. And yeah, I mean, this
2:38:39 off-season I was in a sling for a good
2:38:41 bit of it. And I mean, rehab, got the
2:38:43 best trainers around. I mean, surrounded
2:38:45 by a bunch of people that with a bunch
2:38:46 of love and people that I love hanging
2:38:48 out with every single day. So, it's easy
2:38:49 to go to work every single day when
2:38:50 you're with a bunch of people that are
2:38:52 great people and you love. So, I mean,
2:38:54 they've had my support the whole time.
2:38:55 And you know, uh it's two different
2:38:57 games, defense and hitting. Uh once
2:38:59 again, we just got lucky and we're just
2:39:01 trying to work together and go as far as
2:39:02 we can with this bad boy.
2:39:04 >> Now, your walk-up. You came back and
2:39:06 asked if it looked good. It looked
2:39:07 great. Like unbiased opinion, it looks
2:39:10 fantastic. How therapeutic was it to be
2:39:12 able to key a car?
2:39:13 >> Uh it was actually really nice. So,
2:39:15 keying a car and slamming a bat on it a
2:39:17 couple times, keying the seats, there it
2:39:19 unleashed something in me today. It's
2:39:21 probably why I had a good day out here.
2:39:22 I just let loose.
2:39:23 >> Now really quick, Nashville, super loud
2:39:25 crowd, super fun time last night. What
2:39:27 do you have to say about the city?
2:39:28 >> Hey, how you doing? How you doing? Love
2:39:32 Nashville. It's always a great crowd. We
2:39:33 love coming back here. Hopefully we come
2:39:35 every single year. How you doing? Howdy,
2:39:37 y'all.
2:39:38 >> Couldn't have said it better myself,
2:39:39 guys. Finish it up.
2:39:42 >> Wow, thank you, Maddie. Thank you,
2:39:44 Tanner Thomas, down on the field, the
2:39:45 showman of the game, Tanner Tater
2:39:47 Thomas. He did it with the
2:39:49 entertainment. He keyed a car tonight,
2:39:51 Brett.
2:39:52 >> Legally, by the way.
2:39:53 >> Legally, we we did make sure with the
2:39:55 local Nashville Police Department he
2:39:56 could key that car. The answer was yes,
2:39:58 it was a clunker.
2:39:59 >> And he gave a little thank you back to
2:40:01 Brett [music] Sanchez. It hasn't taken
2:40:02 him long for the seventh home run of
2:40:04 Thomas's year.
2:40:06 He is now tied at second in the Banana
2:40:08 Ball Championship League in home runs
2:40:10 with those seven.
2:40:11 Thomas notched one, Kyle Martin did not.
2:40:13 We're still on history watch [music] the
2:40:15 rest of this weekend for K Martin and
2:40:16 his 16th home run. We know it's going to
2:40:18 come at some point. Tanner Thomas was
2:40:19 the star this evening, though.
2:40:20 >> Yeah, K Martin, short note, missed both
2:40:22 of them by about a combined 5 ft, but
2:40:24 Tanner Thomas [music] didn't miss his at
2:40:26 all. He was special tonight. And I mean,
2:40:28 the home run he ended up hitting in the
2:40:29 fifth.
2:40:30 >> Yep.
2:40:30 >> It didn't mean anything in the grand
2:40:31 scheme of things, but that two-run
2:40:33 walk-off double he hit [music]
2:40:34 >> I felt like was a pretty pivotal
2:40:36 changing point in this ballgame. Animals
2:40:38 right there already knew that they're
2:40:39 going to concede the equalizer point,
2:40:41 take a three-to-two lead. Tailgaters
2:40:42 didn't win the equalizer point,
2:40:44 three-to-three, and then they walk off
2:40:45 the ninth inning or the eighth inning,
2:40:47 excuse me, and end up winning the
2:40:48 ballgame four-to-three. And the Texas
2:40:50 Tailgaters five-game winning streak
2:40:52 comes to an end. Why? Cuz they're facing
2:40:54 [music] the team that had their number
2:40:56 all of 2025, and so far, the only team
2:40:59 with a winning record against them in
2:41:00 2026, albeit just two and one, the
2:41:02 Animals against the Tailgaters.
2:41:03 >> Party Animals have taken two out of
2:41:05 three now against Joe Mcallick and
2:41:07 company after splitting in Sacramento.
2:41:08 That was three months ago and I
2:41:09 mentioned that was the last time the
2:41:11 Party Animals were above .500. They
2:41:12 would fall back to .500, below .500 the
2:41:14 week later in Conway, South Carolina
2:41:16 against the Locos Beach Coconuts. And
2:41:18 finally back to 16 and 16. For the Texas
2:41:21 Tailgaters, 20 and 12 on their campaign.
2:41:23 Still number one in the Banana Ball
2:41:25 Championship League and but again, I
2:41:27 think tonight what you got are two
2:41:30 experienced Banana Ball teams that love
2:41:33 but hate playing one another because it
2:41:35 is as mature as as respectful as this
2:41:39 game gets.
2:41:40 >> Yeah, what do they call the
2:41:41 Auburn-Georgia game every year? Clean
2:41:42 old-fashioned hate. This is clean
2:41:44 old-fashioned love when the Party
2:41:45 Animals Tailgaters play each other. But,
2:41:47 they're extremely competitive. I think
2:41:49 these are two most competitive bunches
2:41:51 in the entire sport. But on top of that,
2:41:53 they know how to play the sport of
2:41:54 Banana Ball, which is why you see these
2:41:56 instant classics almost every time they
2:41:58 play each other. And yet again, tonight
2:42:00 it came down to about three mistakes the
2:42:02 Tailgaters made. And the Party Animals
2:42:04 made you pay for it. Also, got to show
2:42:06 some love to Peter Holden, man. He was
2:42:08 special tonight. I mean, Garrett Delano
2:42:10 kind of unraveled in that fifth inning
2:42:11 giving up four runs. Peter Holden comes
2:42:13 right back in and just shuts down the
2:42:15 Tailgaters offense. Only gives up one
2:42:17 run across two innings. I felt like that
2:42:18 was the pivotal moment in this ball game
2:42:21 where you stopped the momentum of the
2:42:22 offense for the Tailgaters and then that
2:42:24 allowed the Party Animals floodgates to
2:42:25 come right back up.
2:42:26 >> It's something the Animals have not
2:42:27 gotten a lot this season and that is
2:42:29 really strong back half pitching where
2:42:31 Holden was able to shut the door and
2:42:32 then in comes Dylan Porter. He was
2:42:34 spectacular in both the eighth and the
2:42:36 ninth. And the Texas Tailgaters on the
2:42:37 other side just couldn't find it out of
2:42:39 the bullpen. There was a point in this
2:42:41 game, the seventh inning, where I
2:42:42 thought distinctly top seventh the Texas
2:42:45 Tailgaters were in control of this game.
2:42:46 That they are pushing toward a win by a
2:42:48 point or two against the Party Animals.
2:42:50 And then again, those late arms came
2:42:52 alive for the black and pink. The bats
2:42:54 were there in the clutch when they
2:42:55 needed to be. And that that word clutch
2:42:57 is not something that's followed the
2:42:58 Party Animals a ton in 2026. Once they
2:43:01 catch on and I Reese Hample told me this
2:43:02 in Las Vegas about a month and a half
2:43:04 ago. He said, "Listen,
2:43:05 come mid-June, mid-July, I'd much rather
2:43:08 be the Party Animals. I want to be the
2:43:09 veterans of the sport. The Tailgaters
2:43:10 have a lot of that as well. I think
2:43:11 these two teams I'd be I wouldn't be
2:43:13 surprised if they finish toward the top
2:43:15 of the Banana Ball Championship League
2:43:16 going to
2:43:17 >> be surprised if this is the Banana Ball
2:43:18 match-up, which I know is crazy to say
2:43:20 on June the 18th. I don't think it'll be
2:43:22 that crazy in October.
2:43:23 >> I want to go back I want to tie it all
2:43:24 together. 2011 Alabama.
2:43:27 >> Yep.
2:43:27 >> That was the comp for the Texas
2:43:29 Tailgaters. The one team that Alabama
2:43:30 squad lost to, you know who it was?
2:43:32 >> LSU.
2:43:32 >> 2011 LSU. It's what it looked like
2:43:34 tonight.
2:43:35 >> who they beat in the national title game
2:43:36 that year?
2:43:36 >> That's right.
2:43:37 >> LSU.
2:43:37 >> A rematch Alabama and LSU. It's what it
2:43:39 feel felt like today seeing two
2:43:41 juggernauts of this sport go toe-to-toe
2:43:43 and again the respect all of the field.
2:43:45 >> What about tomorrow in Banana Ball?
2:43:46 >> LET'S LOOK AT TOMORROW IN BANANA BALL.
2:43:48 CINCINNATI.
2:43:49 >> Cameron Stewart's on ESPN? That's right.
2:43:52 >> What?
2:43:53 >> 7:00
2:43:54 One team
2:43:55 >> Cameron Stewart?
2:43:55 >> What?
2:43:56 >> TWO CAMERON STEWARTS?
2:43:57 >> WHAT?
2:43:57 >> HAD A BLOODY MARRIAGE. The Texas
2:43:59 Tailgaters and the Party Animals right
2:44:00 back here First [music] Horizon Park.
2:44:02 We'll be with you 8:30 Eastern Time on
2:44:04 truTV as well as for free on the Party
2:44:06 Animals YouTube page. Firefighters and
2:44:08 Coconuts. Delta Dental Stadium.
2:44:11 >> that ballpark, man.
2:44:12 >> Manchester, New Hampshire and the
2:44:14 Bananas and the Clouds on ESPN. [music]
2:44:16 They've been running Do you know what
2:44:17 you watched ESPN this week? College
2:44:18 World Series. Down in the bottom right
2:44:20 hand corner it says Savannah Bananas and
2:44:22 the Indianapolis Clowns.
2:44:24 >> Banana Ball.
2:44:24 >> Banana Ball.
2:44:26 >> else [music] uh ESPN is doing? Coming
2:44:28 out with that that E:60 special on the
2:44:30 Clowns.
2:44:30 >> I I I'm just going to cry myself to
2:44:32 sleep tomorrow. Tomorrow night [music]
2:44:34 uh ESPN will have a full length feature
2:44:36 on the Indianapolis Clowns, their
2:44:37 history and then now the resurrection in
2:44:39 Banana Ball. We're incredibly excited
2:44:41 for that, for the growth of the sport.
2:44:42 Uh and what a night it was here. 4-3 the
2:44:44 final score. Party Animals over the
2:44:46 Texas Tailgaters. Chad Reese did an
2:44:48 incredible job producing. Always a
2:44:49 pleasure to work with. We had Chris
2:44:51 Haines punching the little pooper. Poop,
2:44:53 poop, poop, poop. This camera, that
2:44:55 camera, pow, pow. Down on the field,
2:44:57 Maddie Warren talking to the players,
2:44:58 talking to Chris Young, too. Shout out
2:45:00 to him for being on hand tonight in the
2:45:02 sport of baseball.
2:45:02 >> You might see some more special people
2:45:04 this weekend.
2:45:05 >> I got chills.
2:45:05 >> I know who the special guests are
2:45:07 tomorrow and I just got chills. Very
2:45:10 excited to hang out with those cats,
2:45:12 male or female.
2:45:13 >> Good.
2:45:14 >> Uh it's always a pleasure to share the
2:45:15 booth with you. It's been too long.
2:45:16 >> Way too long. Can't be kept apart for 3
2:45:19 more months.
2:45:20 >> Yeah.
2:45:20 >> Oh, this weekend in Midland, Texas in a
2:45:21 couple weeks.
2:45:22 >> Yeah.
2:45:22 >> We'll soak it all in. For Bret Laulhere
2:45:24 standing next to me, I am Drake Toll. As
2:45:26 always, after a Party Animals victory,
2:45:29 good night and party on.
2:45:33 >> Peter Holden.
2:45:35 >> Fabulous.
