Texas Tailgaters vs Loco Beach Coconuts in Amarillo, TX! (Game 1)

📝 Full transcript (4800 segments)

0:02 On one fateful night in October of 2024,

0:06 Jason Arp rode in on the back of a

0:08 pickup truck singing with a belt buckle

0:11 on and some denim blue uniforms on.

0:14 And that's how Banana Ball's 14, the

0:16 Texas Tailgaters, were born.

0:20 Now, representing the Lone Star State,

0:22 the first team in Banana Ball since the

0:24 Savannah Bananas to have a location tied

0:26 to its identity.

0:28 But, how was tailgating going to exist

0:30 in between the lines of Banana Ball?

0:32 Well, fast forward, May 2025,

0:35 Albuquerque, New Mexico, game number two

0:37 in the history of the Texas Tailgaters.

0:39 It's Showdown. It's the Party Animals.

0:42 It's Jimmy Lewis versus Reese [music]

0:44 Hampton up six points to five. Reese

0:48 sends one down the left field line. It's

0:50 tailing foul. A fan sticks his glove out

0:53 and catches the foul ball and the Texas

0:56 Tailgaters win their first ever game in

0:58 the history of their franchise by a

1:01 fan-caught foul ball. Now, Cincinnati,

1:04 Ohio, three weeks later, first big

1:07 league stadium.

1:08 Marcos Castillo reigning in the right

1:10 center field gap and has it for out

1:12 number two.

1:14 It's that demon yellow. It's a big

1:16 league stadium. It's the first time

1:19 either one of those things are happening

1:21 in the Texas Tailgaters history. Can

1:23 they beat the Bananas and can they win

1:25 in a big league ballpark? What say you,

1:27 Marcos Castillo? For out number three,

1:30 did the same thing as he did on out

1:32 number two, a jumping, leaping, diving

1:34 grab in the right center field. And the

1:36 Texas Tailgaters victorious for the

1:37 first ever time over the Savannah

1:39 Bananas.

1:42 Now, one of our favorite things we got

1:44 to do all last year, we're going to do

1:45 it all this year, we're going to do it

1:46 hopefully for all of our existence is

1:49 tailgating. The Tailgaters tailgate and

1:51 well,

1:52 we play whiffle ball at the tailgate and

1:54 poor Jimmy Lewis struck me out on three

1:56 pitches. Still having a good old time

1:58 there in Philadelphia. So much fun. One

2:01 of our favorite tailgates we got to go

2:02 to in 2025.

2:05 As we go to one of our favorite

2:06 tailgates to our favorite series of

2:08 2025, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on the

2:11 campus of LSU. The Texas Tailgater

2:14 trying to earn their first ever sweep in

2:17 their history. Jordan Hussein, oh my

2:19 goodness. Behind-the-back trick play in

2:23 Showdown. The first unofficial trick

2:26 play in the history of Showdown, and the

2:28 Texas Tailgaters swept Baton Rouge on

2:32 the back, quite literally, of our

2:34 captain, the Texas Kid, Jordan Hussein.

2:36 Now, same scenario 2 weeks later to

2:39 finish out the college tour, Starkville,

2:42 Mississippi,

2:43 in the home of Mississippi State. Reese

2:45 Hampton, yet again, sends one high in

2:47 the sky. Jordan Hussein trying to track

2:50 it down. Can't quite track it down in

2:52 the air, but can track it down

2:54 Cincinnati Stanley, who tags out Reese

2:56 Hampton for the final out of the

2:58 ballgame as the Texas Tailgaters spoiled

3:01 the final game of the Party Animals

3:02 Headliner Tour in 2025 as they won it

3:05 4-3.

3:07 Then, it was time to go to Texas as we

3:10 begin our headliner tour. Jordan Reed,

3:12 game two in Texas and win number one.

3:16 The Texas Tailgaters, their first win in

3:19 the Lone Star State by a final score of

3:21 3-2. And where else a better way to do

3:24 it with a better left-handed arm than

3:27 Jordan Reed over those boys in black and

3:29 pink?

3:31 First of two wins in Texas, the second

3:34 coming a few weeks later in Round Rock,

3:37 where Jordan Reed, yet again, able to

3:39 get the final out in a 4-2 victory over

3:42 those Party Animals to close out the

3:44 2025 Texas Tailgaters Headliner Tour.

3:48 However, the 2025 season not complete as

3:52 the Texas Tailgaters are playing in

3:53 their first big league stadium in the

3:55 state of Texas. And Indiana Stanley,

3:57 that first Texas Tailgater tater as he

4:00 sent one into the Crawford boxes and a

4:03 big [singing] time long ball from

4:05 Indiana Stanley who led the Tailgaters

4:07 with four home runs in 2025.

4:11 The final Tailgater go ya ya in 2025 was

4:14 Zach Watson off of Dakota Steals All

4:17 Britton in Houston into the Crawford

4:20 boxes in what a way to end the 2025

4:23 world tour in the Lone Star State and in

4:26 a big league ball park. The 2026 season

4:29 started off with a banger for the Texas

4:31 Tailgaters as last weekend in Florida

4:33 State in front of 60,000 people, Chris

4:36 Clark told everybody he was Preston

4:40 Keith and then threw the camera on the

4:42 ground. The third overall pick in the

4:44 2026 Banana Ball player draft was having

4:46 a time as was Taj Porter during our

4:49 first run silly of the night. But then

4:51 our first trick play of 2026 came from

4:55 our sixth round draft pick, Brett Donnie

4:58 Allen, the wonder from down under goes

5:01 between the legs with Nigel the

5:03 crocodile on his bill [music] and then a

5:05 little backflip action to leave in

5:08 between the lines. The action only

5:09 continued to pick up after that when

5:12 Dakota Steals All Britton sent an

5:15 absolute dart to third and then Jordan

5:18 Parks said, "I got time to do a trick

5:20 play." The diving grab book it and then

5:22 the trick play as well book it from JB.

5:26 Perhaps the coolest moment of the night

5:28 was Travis Monyo hitting the first home

5:30 run in Tailgaters history in a football

5:32 stadium and then he had bits to say.

5:36 >> You just hit a home run in front of

5:37 60,000 people. How do you feel?

5:40 >> Well, Brett, plain and simple, I'm the

5:41 best there ever is. I mean, I wake up in

5:44 the morning and I

5:45 Pinch excellent. I'm I'm a big hairy

5:49 American winning machine. If you ain't

5:50 first, you're last.

5:54 >> [cheering and screaming]

5:56 >> And then we went to Frisco, where I met

5:58 my new best friend and the official

6:01 mascot of the Texas Tailgaters.

6:05 It's Grub, wearing a blue cowboy hat,

6:07 that big old tail on his back, and a man

6:10 [music] who can eat every single piece

6:12 of food at the tailgate.

6:14 >> The official unveiling of the Tailgaters

6:15 mascot. We waited for a while, but

6:17 something we've seen a whole lot is our

6:19 shortstop Jordan Hussey doing stuff like

6:22 that. I [music] mean, come on, Fiber.

6:24 Wearing a cowboy hat with a feather, the

6:26 Texas kid, the captain,

6:28 >> [music]

6:28 >> and arguably one of the best shortstops

6:30 defensively in all of Bin Adam. So good

6:32 we had to see it again, but we're not

6:34 showing you the same play right here.

6:36 Yes, Jordan Hussey five trick plays last

6:39 Saturday night in Frisco. [music] This

6:40 his fifth right here, a bare-handed

6:43 catch for out number two in the top

6:45 [music] of the ninth inning. But the

6:46 best moment of the night did not come

6:48 from defense, but rather offense. Take

6:50 it away, Rhinestone.

6:51 >> It's

6:52 golden batter, Kyle K Marten. What else

6:56 WOULD YOU WANT?

6:59 IN THE BIGGEST MOMENT TO THIS point of

7:01 the Tailgaters season,

7:03 down by one point in the bottom of the

7:05 ninth, backs against the wall against

7:07 C.J. Williams.

7:09 One and oh.

7:11 Big on big.

7:14 K Marten

7:15 out to left field.

7:17 He ain't going back at the fence.

7:20 It's gone.

7:21 It's gone.

7:22 It's gone.

7:23 Kyle Marten's first home run of the

7:26 season ties

7:27 us up

7:27 at three a piece. Where else would you

7:30 rather be?

7:31 >> [cheering]

7:37 [cheering]

7:39 >> And a home run taco.

7:42 The first earned run C.J. Williams has

7:44 ever conceded.

7:47 THIS IS BANANABALL. [screaming]

7:51 >> THE moment never too big in the ninth,

7:53 but what about in showdowns?

7:54 >> [music]

7:54 >> C.J. Williams, Nick Lopez, bottom of

7:58 round number one. How would it end?

8:03 >> LOPE OVER THE HEAD OF GIDDIAN ANTLE.

8:06 IT'S GOING TO ROLL FOR A WHILE.

8:08 GIDDIAN'S GOT GOOD WHEELS. GET ON YOUR

8:10 HORSE, LOPE. Get on your horse.

8:13 ANTLE FINALLY GETS TO IT. Lope's on

8:15 third AND EDDIE GREAT ARM sails over the

8:18 head. Tailgaters win. TAILGATERS WIN.

8:21 TAILGATERS WIN. Nick Lopez walks it off

8:24 for the three and we are so back in the

8:27 Lone Star State.

8:31 >> After going four and four over their

8:33 final eight games heading into the

8:35 Bananaball Open,

8:36 something caught fire within the Texas

8:39 Tailgaters and specifically their

8:41 33-year-old superstar, K Martin, in game

8:44 one against the Firefighters.

8:46 >> for the Texas Tailgaters and K Martin

8:48 sends one deep center field. K Martin

8:51 with another long ball.

8:53 Welcome to the action here in the

8:55 Bananaball Open.

8:57 >> First of two home runs for K Martin in

8:59 the Open and then Sunshine provided us

9:02 the play of the year.

9:03 >> Mason Maxwell, HARD [screaming] HIT

9:05 SONNY DYKES OUT. TRICK PLAY. OH, IT'S A

9:08 DOUBLE TRICK PLAY.

9:09 >> THAT'S THE play of the year.

9:12 Jonathan "Sunshine" Loaisiga lays out,

9:14 but between the legs bucket throws it to

9:17 first. Taylor Justin between the legs

9:19 bucket.

9:21 >> That was psychotic.

9:22 >> This is bananaball.

9:26 >> And from arguably the play of the year

9:28 to the play that helped win the

9:30 Tailgaters the equalizer [music] point

9:32 and win the ballgame on Friday night.

9:34 >> McDowell over to J5, BETWEEN THE LEGS,

9:38 AND THAT'S THE EQUALIZER [music] POINT

9:39 FOR THE TAILGATERS. Double trick play.

9:42 >> Book it! Book it! And just like that,

9:45 the Texas Tailgaters, off the backs of

9:48 the Texas kid and Taylor Justice, win

9:51 the equalizer point.

9:52 >> This is vitally important.

9:55 >> With a win on Friday night against the

9:56 Firefighters, the Tailgaters faced off

9:58 in game one of the Banana Ball Open

10:00 Championship against those Savannah

10:01 Bananas. And how about a start to it

10:04 from Jordan Hussein? A little bucket

10:07 there on a 6-4-6-3 [music]

10:09 double play. You've never seen anything

10:11 like that in your entire life. And then,

10:13 we hadn't seen this yet this year

10:15 either. Jordan Bartlett, it's his first

10:17 home run in his Banana Ball career, in

10:20 route to putting the Tailgaters up two

10:22 points to none there in the third

10:25 inning. Feeling really good about those

10:26 boys in blue and orange. Now, let's feel

10:28 a little bit better. Eight inning, need

10:30 [music] three trick plays to win the

10:31 equalizer point. Book it! That is now 13

10:35 to 12 in the trick play category. Bounce

10:37 her, Taylor Justice top play. Joe

10:39 Sparano loses the cowboy hat. Book it

10:41 yet again. 13 trick plays a piece to get

10:43 the final out of the inning. Taylor

10:45 Justice bounces it off the turf like

10:47 LaMelo and that's how the Tailgaters win

10:49 the equalizer point. And then, here's

10:52 how they won the ball game.

10:54 >> With the game on the line.

10:58 HIGH FLY BALL! DEEP OUT TO RIGHT CENTER

11:00 FIELD. [cheering] WATSON ON HIS HORSE!

11:02 HE DOESN'T GET THERE AS IT BANGS OFF THE

11:04 WALL. PAY JACKSON WILL SCORE EASILY.

11:07 OBEAR'S LOOKING FOR THREE BASES!

11:09 [cheering] HE'S OUT!

11:10 PERFECT RELAY BY JORDAN HUSSEIN!

11:13 FANTASTIC DEEP BY JORDAN BARTLETT!

11:16 AND THE TAILGATERS [cheering]

11:17 HANG ON 3-2 WINNERS!

11:19 >> WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT that

11:20 Jordan-Jordan connection? AND THE TEXAS

11:23 TAILGATERS COME IN HERE AND UPSET the

11:26 namesake of the sport to win game one of

11:29 the first ever Banana Ball [screaming]

11:31 Open!

11:32 >> From a game one victory to winning the

11:34 whole thing the very next day.

11:36 >> Tailgaters put this in the hands of

11:38 their all-star from a season ago in Nick

11:41 Lopez.

11:42 The O2.

11:44 THAT'S HIT WELL. DEEP OUT TO LEFT.

11:46 ALEXIOTE IS ON HIS HORSE.

11:50 IT SETTLES ON THE WARNING TRACK. LOPEZ

11:52 AROUND SECOND.

11:53 >> [cheering]

11:54 >> Reece gets to the ball. Lopez around

11:56 third.

11:57 >> [cheering]

11:58 >> No relay!

11:59 Nick Lopez

12:00 brings Clinch to the playoff spot for

12:02 the Texas Tailgaters!

12:05 And the boys in [cheering] blue and

12:07 orange

12:07 are going to lock in a playoff spot

12:10 six months early!

12:12 Nick Lopez,

12:14 the man who won all the showdowns last

12:16 year for the Tailgaters,

12:18 comes up in the biggest spot of his

12:20 Banana Ball career.

12:21 WE'LL SEE YOU IN OCTOBER!

12:24 >> We just never gave up, man.

12:25 Even in the locker room we're talking.

12:27 We're going to beat these guys. They got

12:29 us last year.

12:30 And the first couple games this year.

12:32 But we never gave up. That's the

12:33 difference.

12:35 >> Good morning. It's the Big Texans, Jose

12:37 Brayly Gonzalez, Brett Loftis, voice of

12:39 the Coconuts AJ Swiatek, and Joe

12:41 Meatball Filomino. It's a 72-oz steak

12:44 challenge from Amarillo, Texas. We got

12:46 to finish all this in an hour.

12:47 >> Time will start in 5 4 3 2 1 go.

12:51 >> Here we go.

12:52 >> [laughter]

12:56 >> Meatball's already eaten a whole pallet

12:58 of steak, man.

13:00 >> You guys are so screwed. Loco Beach

13:01 doesn't lose.

13:02 >> A lot more chewing, a lot less eating.

13:05 Well, they pay us to talk, so naturally

13:06 that's what I'm trying to do, man.

13:08 >> Check it.

13:09 Meatball's already got over half the

13:10 steak down. I'd say I'm about 40% of the

13:13 way there. Let's take a look at what

13:14 Texas has going on.

13:16 Brett's past the steak.

13:17 >> Ain't nothing wrong with it.

13:19 Rather eat protein, man.

13:21 >> Brett said, "I'm going to have one bite

13:23 of this steak challenge and then go to

13:24 the side."

13:25 >> I ate

13:26 Bro, I've eaten more than more steak you

13:27 have.

13:28 >> No, you just cut yours in half so it

13:30 looks like there's less.

13:31 >> No, you didn't.

13:33 >> You know what?

13:34 >> No, dude. I mean, you said you said,

13:35 "Brother, I need you up at 8:00 in the

13:37 morning to do a steak challenge."

13:38 >> [laughter]

13:39 >> Said, "I'm going to eat two bites and

13:40 brother, I'm having you do the

13:42 challenge."

13:42 >> Bro, I eat a good If it's 72 oz, I eat a

13:44 good 16 oz a night.

13:46 >> No, you did not.

13:47 >> Look, look, look how much time we got.

13:49 Look how much time we got. We got plenty

13:50 of time. We got plenty of time.

13:51 >> Yeah, we got plenty of time.

13:53 >> We got plenty of time.

13:55 >> That is wrong.

13:56 >> Bro, yeah.

13:57 >> And then the fastest time we ever had

13:58 somebody do like the entire challenge

14:01 was 4 minutes and 18 seconds.

14:02 >> No.

14:03 >> Yeah.

14:03 >> That's That's just one human being?

14:05 >> And that was a girl, too. Her name is

14:07 Molly Schuyler. And actually, what she

14:08 did, she ate one 4 minutes and 18

14:11 seconds and she went on to eat two more

14:13 after.

14:14 So, she ate three in like 20 minutes.

14:18 >> That's one of the craziest things I've

14:20 ever heard.

14:21 >> I finished mine.

14:23 >> Good job, Joe.

14:26 >> That's good, people.

14:27 >> I finished mine.

14:32 >> I'd say brother

14:33 alone has eaten at least 36 oz of steak.

14:36 We're going to have scales come out.

14:40 >> 20 oz.

14:41 >> So, we ate 52 oz of steak. That sets the

14:44 bar pretty good for Loco Beach.

14:47 >> I know we lost. All right, but here we

14:48 go.

14:49 >> [music]

14:49 >> 27

14:51 >> Oh, let's go, Joe.

14:52 >> And that means brother ate a lot of

14:54 steak.

14:55 >> [laughter]

14:56 >> Over under 40 oz.

14:58 >> Hey, what a way to start the weekend.

15:00 Loco Beach Coconuts kick things off with

15:02 a win. Really, it was all about spending

15:03 time with my guys, Brett Loftis, Joe

15:05 Philamino, Jose brother Gonzales. Guys,

15:08 I mean, the Big Texan, I think it lived

15:09 up to the standard. The biggest, the

15:11 largest, the Big Texan and now all four

15:13 of these Big Texans are going to roll on

15:14 to Hodgetown Stadium.

15:19 The Big Texans have rumbled their way

15:21 into Hodgetown. for the first time ever

15:24 Banana Ball has made their way into the

15:26 yellow rose of Texas, Amarillo. The

15:29 Banana Ball Open Champs five and six

15:31 Texas Tailgaters play host to the four

15:33 and seven Loco Beach Coconuts in a

15:35 battle that begins the final 50 games of

15:38 the 2026 Banana Ball Championship League

15:41 regular season.

15:43 Come on in the booth and stay a while.

15:46 He's the voice of the Loco Beach

15:47 Coconuts. I'm Brett Loftis and we're so

15:49 happy to have you here in the Lone Star

15:51 State. After we made a big attempt to

15:54 devour that 72 oz steak, we tried to

15:57 take a little bit of a rest earlier

15:58 today. Just like the Loco Beach Coconuts

16:00 got to do last weekend. Obviously the

16:02 Tailgaters won the open. We're going to

16:03 get to that. But the Coconuts were one

16:05 of two teams who were not in the open

16:07 last weekend. Now when you look at that

16:09 Tailgaters Banana Ball played three

16:10 games AJ. The caveat if you want to not

16:13 being in the open is having that all

16:14 time. How advantageous is that for Loco

16:16 Beach moving forward in this final

16:18 really big stretch of these 50 games?

16:20 >> I mean it's huge, right? If that 72 oz

16:22 steak taught me anything this morning,

16:24 fatigue is a real thing. All right? And

16:26 for Loco Beach, it's a weekend to reset.

16:28 You see the records only one loss behind

16:31 the Tailgaters who now have punched

16:33 their playoff ticket. That's how crazy

16:35 Banana Ball is and that's why this is

16:36 different than any other sport. But

16:38 you're getting the Tailgaters at the

16:40 best time. They just played three hard

16:42 fought games all weekend long in Grayson

16:45 Stadium. Meanwhile, the Coconuts kicked

16:47 their feet up, knew it was 5 o'clock 24

16:49 hours a day. They've got the bodies

16:51 right and if there's a time to play a

16:53 team as hot as the Tailgaters, it's

16:55 after some rest.

16:56 >> Yeah, the Tailgaters just won their

16:57 first ever three consecutive games in

17:00 the Banana Ball Open

17:02 first ever Banana Ball Open tournament.

17:05 Why shall we look at how the Tailgaters

17:07 clinched the spot six months early?

17:11 Tell you what, those boys in blue and

17:12 orange were special last weekend. Here

17:14 on Friday, excuse me, Saturday night

17:17 They started off 6-4-6-3 [music]

17:18 double play. What? Ever seen anything

17:20 like that? I sure have. It put the

17:22 Tailgaters up five to two in trick play.

17:24 So good, we got to see it again. Hussein

17:26 to Sonny to Hussein to Taylor Justice.

17:29 Only ruled one trick play, but nothing

17:31 short of a beauty. And then Jordan Bart,

17:32 his first home run in the sport is an

17:35 Oppo Taco Tailgater [music] tater that

17:37 would en route put the Tailgaters up two

17:39 points to nine in the top of the third

17:41 inning against those Savannah Bananas.

17:43 He strapped it on able to score that run

17:47 that led to a point. But then how about

17:49 this? Let's take you to the eighth

17:49 inning. Down by two trick plays needing

17:52 three to win the equalizer point.

17:53 Bucket. Put you 12. Then yet again, to

17:56 Taylor Justice between the legs. Does

17:58 throwing lose the cowboy hat? Does not

17:59 matter. Tied at 13 trick plays. Need one

18:02 more out in the inning. One more trick

18:03 play. [music] Taylor Justice bounces it

18:05 like LaMelo and the Tailgaters win the

18:07 equalizer point leading three to one

18:09 heading into the final frame. But what

18:11 would unravel in the ninth inning is

18:12 like nothing you've ever seen before.

18:14 >> HIGH BALL! DEEP OUT TO RIGHT CENTER

18:17 FIELD. WATTS IS ON HIS HORSE.

18:19 >> [cheering]

18:19 >> HE DOESN'T GET THERE AS IT BANGS OFF THE

18:21 WALL. PARKER JACKSON WILL SCORE EASILY.

18:23 Overs looking FOR THREE BASES.

18:25 [cheering]

18:26 HE'S OUT!

18:27 PERFECT RELAY BY JORDAN HUSSEIN.

18:29 FANTASTIC DEEP BY JORDAN BART.

18:32 AND THE TAILGATERS HANG ON 3-2 WINNERS.

18:35 >> WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT that Jordan

18:37 Jordan connection and THE TEXAS

18:39 TAILGATERS COMING HERE AND UPSET THE

18:42 name sake of the sport to win game one

18:45 for the FIRST EVER BANANA BALL

18:47 [screaming] OPENER?

18:48 >> From a game one victory to winning the

18:51 whole thing the very next day.

18:53 >> Tailgaters put this in the hands of

18:54 their all-star from a season ago in Nick

18:57 Lopez.

18:58 The O2.

19:00 THAT'S HIT WELL! DEEP OUT TO LEFT.

19:03 ALEXIADES ON HIS HORSE.

19:06 IT SETTLES ON THE WARNING TRACK. LOPEZ

19:08 AROUND SECOND.

19:10 Reece gets to the ball. Lopez around

19:12 third.

19:14 >> [cheering]

19:14 >> No relay. Nick Lopez clinches a playoff

19:18 spot for the Texas Tailgaters.

19:21 And the boys

19:22 in blue and orange

19:24 are going to clinch a playoff spot

19:26 six months early.

19:29 Nick Lopez,

19:30 the man who

19:31 won all the shootouts last year for the

19:33 Tailgaters,

19:34 comes up in the biggest spot of his

19:36 incredible career.

19:38 We'll see you in October.

19:40 >> We just never gave up, man. Even in the

19:42 locker room we were talking, we're going

19:44 to beat these guys. They got us last

19:46 year

19:47 and the first couple games this year,

19:48 but we never gave up. That's the

19:50 difference.

19:52 >> Let's take a look at that, Brett, and

19:53 then how the Tailgaters were able to mow

19:55 down everyone they seen, winning each of

19:57 their three games by singular point.

19:59 Friday night and Saturday night against

20:01 the Firefighters and Bananas, the

20:02 equalizer point is what it came down to.

20:05 And then there in shootouts, as you've

20:06 just seen it, the Tailgaters with the

20:07 walk-off on the back of Nick Lopez, able

20:09 to clinch a playoff spot six months

20:12 early. AJ, I know you watched every game

20:13 [music] in the Open. Your biggest

20:14 takeaway from the boys in blue and

20:16 orange in the Open as a whole.

20:18 >> Absolutely, Brett. When I watched the

20:19 Tailgaters, one thing stuck out, and

20:21 they took advantage of the rules that

20:24 make Banana Ball so special. You

20:26 mentioned it, the equalizer point was

20:28 the difference maker in the first two

20:30 games of the Open. But how about getting

20:32 it done in shootouts against the

20:34 Savannah Bananas? This sport is known

20:36 for the biggest moments, the biggest

20:37 players elevating themselves. And for

20:40 Texas, this is a team that had struggled

20:42 against the Bananas last season. They

20:44 didn't let it get to them in shootouts,

20:46 in

20:47 of moments in Grayson Stadium, the

20:49 Tailgaters took full advantage of one of

20:51 the rules that makes this sport what it

20:53 is.

20:54 >> The Coconuts have an opportunity to win

20:56 the equalizer point three times this

20:59 weekend. One of the many rules here in

21:01 the sport of Banana Ball that we

21:03 absolutely love. Shall we take a look at

21:06 those glorious 11 rules of Banana Ball?

21:09 >> I think we shall.

21:11 Banana Ball is the fastest and most

21:13 entertaining show in sports, and the 11

21:16 rules guarantee the [music] most fans

21:18 first experience every second.

21:19 >> Unbelievable!

21:21 WELCOME TO THE BANANA BALL CHAMPIONSHIP

21:23 LEAGUE.

21:24 >> Rule number one, win the inning, win the

21:26 point. The team that scores the most

21:28 runs in an inning wins the point.

21:30 >> IT'S A WALK-OFF WINNER FOR THE Savannah

21:33 Bananas!

21:34 >> Oh my goodness!

21:36 >> With the equalizer point, trick plays

21:38 provide the away team an opportunity to

21:40 earn a point going into the final

21:41 inning.

21:42 And in the final inning, every run

21:44 counts as a point. Rule number two,

21:47 Banana Ball has a 2-hour time limit,

21:50 guaranteeing that every game is

21:52 fast-paced and action-packed.

21:54 Rule number three, no stepping out of

21:56 the batter's box. If you do, it will

21:58 result in a strike.

21:59 >> Mack stepped out of the box, and because

22:01 he stepped out of the box, that's it!

22:03 >> Rule number four, no bunting, cuz

22:06 bunting sucks.

22:07 >> [music]

22:07 >> If you bunt, you'll be thrown out of the

22:09 game. Rule number five, batters can

22:12 steal first base.

22:13 >> Ball three, CAN HE TAKE IT UP FOR FIRST

22:14 THROW FROM LE'ROY? In time!

22:17 >> Rule number six, there's no walks. Walks

22:21 are ball four sprints. The batter can

22:23 advance as far as they want until every

22:25 position [music] player touches the

22:27 ball.

22:27 >> NO DEFENDERS HAVE TOUCHED THE BANANA

22:29 BALL! IT IS A FOUR-BASE SPRINT TO OPEN

22:32 UP the ballgame!

22:33 >> Rule number seven,

22:35 no mound visits.

22:37 Nope.

22:38 Rule number eight, foul balls caught

22:40 [music] by a fan count as an out.

22:42 >> Oh, they're calling it!

22:44 He's taking it! He can't call it on the

22:46 2-point!

22:47 We're going to showdown!

22:48 >> Rule number nine, the showdown. In

22:51 showdowns, the best of the best face off

22:53 in the biggest moment. One hitter versus

22:56 one pitcher [music] with one fielder

22:58 behind him, and the hitter has to score.

23:00 >> Take it right center.

23:03 See

23:04 you later.

23:05 >> Rule number 10, the banana ball

23:06 challenge rule gives the coaches and you

23:09 the fans a chance to impact a call on

23:11 the field.

23:13 Rule number 11, the golden batter. Once

23:16 a game, each team can give any player an

23:18 at bat regardless of the lineup. This

23:20 offers the biggest matchups on the

23:22 biggest stage.

23:24 >> Big on big.

23:25 >> Game

23:26 on. Let's go.

23:27 >> Let's go.

23:28 >> Let's go.

23:29 >> Get out

23:30 >> of here, ball.

23:31 >> That thing had a family.

23:33 >> [screaming]

23:35 >> And those are the rules of banana ball.

23:47 >> Beautiful Hodgetown Stadium here in the

23:50 yellow rose of the Lone Star State,

23:52 Amarillo, Texas. AJ, you actually called

23:55 a few games here in your past life. And

23:58 people say this is an absolute boom box

24:00 because of the elevation, but also the

24:02 dimensions here in Amarillo.

24:03 >> Boom box, launch pad, I mean, you could

24:06 use however many idioms you want.

24:08 Hodgetown is a place where the ball

24:10 flies. We landed in Amarillo yesterday,

24:13 and my fresh hair that I just find to be

24:15 so pretty, it was blowing right out of

24:17 my face, and I'm like, "Yo, yo, yo,

24:19 that's not cool. That's not cool. I'm

24:21 supposed to have that in my face."

24:22 That's what it brings. The wind is such

24:25 a factor, and with the way that this

24:26 ballpark is laid out, it is consistently

24:29 blowing out. So, when I was here, Brett

24:32 Loftis, I saw double-digit home runs. I

24:34 saw the two corners playing a lot closer

24:37 than 325, and really, the main thing

24:40 being the main thing is strikes. Oh, so

24:43 valuable in banana ball. You're going to

24:44 have to battle with the fact that if you

24:46 leave something that gets too much of

24:48 the zone, this is the kind of ballpark

24:49 where hitters like your Kyle Martins,

24:51 like your Dane Toplins can take full

24:53 advantage.

24:54 >> Yeah, I was watching BP earlier today.

24:56 Jordan Barth hit four backside home runs

24:58 in his first round of BP. This is an

25:02 absolute boombox of a place, and if you

25:03 like home runs, you're going to stay

25:05 with us all night here on the Texas

25:06 Tailgaters YouTube channel. And four and

25:08 seven the coconuts, five and six the

25:10 banana ball. Open champs, the Texas

25:13 Tailgaters. And the first time banana

25:15 ball has ever been featured here

25:17 [singing] in Amarillo. As let's send it

25:20 down to the field for a home run hitter.

25:23 >> AND BLUE, HE'S EATEN THE ENTIRE 72 OZ

25:27 STEAK WITH ALL THE SIDES. OUR HOME RUN

25:30 HITTER, 5-YEAR-OLD COOPER.

25:34 >> [cheering and applause]

25:46 >> Hitting with a hobby horse off KP.

25:55 He's taunting him.

26:02 OH, AND HE TAKES A HACK.

26:10 YEAH, get Cooper back.

26:22 Bart's going out to the mound.

26:28 Oh, what a belly ball.

26:32 Here we go, Cooper.

26:34 >> [cheering]

26:37 >> And he swings the ball.

26:39 The coaches aren't even paying

26:40 attention.

26:42 THEY'RE KICKING THE BALL [cheering]

26:43 AROUND.

26:47 Cooper's running to second.

26:49 >> [cheering]

26:54 >> They cannot handle the ball.

26:55 >> [cheering]

27:02 [cheering]

27:06 >> He's going home.

27:07 >> [cheering]

27:11 >> He's

27:12 He's

27:15 safe!

27:16 >> [cheering]

27:22 [music]

27:34 >> Well, the Tailgaters just continue to

27:36 hit taters. Even the little Tailgater

27:39 right there with the inside the park in

27:41 the home run hitter. Young man who hit a

27:42 lot of home runs. Well, just one to be

27:44 exact, but had a lot of big-time hits in

27:46 the Banana Ball Open. Was the Banana

27:48 Ball Open MVP. He plays third base.

27:51 Everyone calls him Princess. His name is

27:52 Jordan Bart. And our very own Rex

27:54 Castillo was able to catch up earlier

27:56 today with JB.

28:05 All right, guys. Now we're just hanging

28:06 out with an MVP. Jordan Bart, the Banana

28:08 Ball Open MVP, winning that playoff

28:11 [music] spot. First of all, let's get

28:12 your reaction. What was it like to know

28:13 that you were the MVP of that whole

28:15 tournament?

28:15 >> Obviously, it was super special being

28:17 the MVP, but you know, winning the Open

28:19 for the Tailgaters which was even more

28:20 special and you know, punching a playoff

28:22 spot in April and for a tournament in

28:24 October is something you don't see every

28:26 day. So, yeah. I mean, outside of what I

28:29 did, you know, that's my job is to go

28:31 out there and help the team win the ball

28:32 games. And yeah, I'm just super special

28:35 to be a part of this group. And yeah.

28:37 >> A special win for that group. Again, as

28:39 you mentioned, already have a playoff

28:40 spot. We don't have to The playoffs

28:42 don't even start till October, but how

28:44 do you keep your foot on the gas with 50

28:46 games [music] left before that

28:47 postseason actually starts.

28:48 >> Nothing changes. I mean, it's comes from

28:50 the top with our coaches. Um they

28:51 obviously push us to win and push us to

28:53 be our best self every day and yeah, I

28:55 think we're going to come out here and

28:57 do what needs to be done to win a

28:58 ballgame and that's that.

29:00 >> MVP is still locked in. Also another

29:02 group that's locked in, your bullpen.

29:03 You guys are turning triple plays left

29:04 and right, but how good has the talent

29:06 been on the mound for you guys to get

29:08 those opportunities as well?

29:09 >> Super super great. I mean, it's awesome.

29:11 They just come in, throw strikes, pump

29:12 strikes. It keeps us locked in in the

29:14 field, too, you know. It's just It's

29:16 something special. We got something

29:17 special as a whole group and it's fun to

29:19 be a part of it.

29:20 >> Look, he has more hardware to add to the

29:22 trophy case, but the MVP and the

29:23 Tailgaters still locked in. Thank you so

29:25 much, Jordan. Hey, AJ Brett, let's send

29:27 it back to you.

29:40 >> To witness something that front boys

29:43 across the country could only ever dream

29:45 of.

29:46 From parking lots to 80-ft yachts, from

29:50 backyard GRILLS TO A STADIUM THAT

29:53 THRILLS, THE PRE-GAMERS COME FROM EVERY

29:55 CORNER OF THE GLOBE to witness this.

29:59 But this is not baseball. No, this is

30:02 the arena where these Texas

30:05 two-stepping, tradition-upsetting,

30:07 big hit-getting ball players await the

30:10 opening of the gate to deliver a

30:12 Texas-size beat down to whoever lines up

30:15 across from them.

30:17 And tonight, ladies and gentlemen,

30:20 well, it looks like the Loco Beach

30:21 Coconuts are about to find out WHY YOU

30:25 DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS.

30:29 >> [cheering]

30:31 >> BUT NO, THIS is not your granddad's

30:34 pastime. THIS IS NOT JUST another night

30:37 at the ballpark. No, this game is

30:39 baseball by birth, but it's fruit by

30:42 name, and an absolute worldwide

30:44 phenomenon by the grace of God.

30:47 So now is the time

30:51 for all 7,000

30:53 [screaming]

30:54 people here in Amarillo, Texas to get up

30:58 on your feet and give me your voices.

31:05 >> [cheering]

31:07 >> Because this is the GREATEST PREGAME IN

31:09 SPORTS, AND IT never ends because THIS

31:13 IS BANANA

31:16 BALL.

31:19 >> [cheering]

31:20 >> AMARILLO, TEXAS,

31:22 >> [screaming]

31:23 READY?

31:26 >> [cheering]

33:57 >> TEXAS TAILGATERS!

34:02 >> [cheering]

34:06 >> Ladies and gentlemen, at this time we

34:08 ask that you please rise if able, remove

34:11 your caps, and join us in honoring

34:14 America with the singing of the national

34:16 anthem. Please welcome to the field

34:19 Brett Boskey.

34:22 >> Oh, say

34:25 can you see

34:28 by the dawn's

34:30 early

34:31 light [singing]

34:33 what so proud

34:37 we hailed [singing] at the twilight's

34:40 last gleaming,

34:43 whose broad stripes and bright stars

34:46 [singing]

34:47 through the perilous

34:53 fight,

34:54 for the ramparts we

34:55 watched were so [singing] gallantly

35:00 streaming.

35:03 And the rockets'

35:08 red glare, the bombs bursting

35:09 >> [singing]

35:10 >> in

35:12 air,

35:13 gave

35:14 proof through the

35:16 night that our [singing] flag

35:19 was still there.

35:21 Oh,

35:23 say does

35:24 that

35:25 star-spangled

35:26 >> [singing]

35:30 >> banner yet

35:31 wave

35:33 o'er the land [singing]

35:36 of the free

35:38 and the

35:41 home of the

35:42 brave?

35:51 >> How blessed are we?

35:53 The Yellow Rose OF TEXAS WELCOMES BONITA

35:56 BALL FOR THE FIRST EVER TIME. THE LOCO

35:59 BEACH COCONUT'S

36:01 and the boys representing the Lone Star

36:03 State, the Texas Tailgaters.

36:07 Man,

36:08 isn't it great that we get to start the

36:10 final stretch of the 50 regular season

36:13 games with a three-game series here in

36:15 Amarillo.

36:17 >> I mean, it sure is great. Brett, I look

36:19 at you all the time. I think almost

36:20 every day. And I look at you and I say,

36:22 "Man, the world gives me so many reasons

36:24 to smile." This right now is at the top

36:27 of that whole list because it's coconuts

36:29 and Tailgaters in such a meaningful game

36:32 at this stage in the season for Loco

36:34 Beach after being swept two weeks ago.

36:36 They've been scratching and clawing to

36:38 get another opportunity to get in the

36:40 left-hand column. They're going to have

36:41 to do it against Brett Sanchez, however,

36:44 in a Tailgaters team that again is red

36:46 hot coming off of that open win.

36:49 >> Well, let's take a look at how the

36:50 Tailgaters will line up defensively here

36:53 tonight. Again, they're they're moving

36:55 around some pieces, but it's normally

36:57 what you're going to see from a standard

36:59 Tailgating defensive lineup. Indiana

37:01 Stanley is going to be back inside of

37:04 this Tailgaters lineup and here roaming

37:07 center field, which is a great thing to

37:09 see. Jason Art will get his first start,

37:11 excuse me, second start in right field

37:13 this year. His first time was in Chapel

37:15 Hill. Zack Watson in left. Your normal

37:17 middle infield duo, Matt Danford, will

37:19 not be at second base. It will be

37:20 Jonathan Sunshine Luders, the designated

37:23 fielder. Corners there, Barton and

37:24 Justice.

37:25 >> Ties the Quadfather Porter catching his

37:27 fourth straight game if you're including

37:29 the open in that. The first time he's

37:31 ever done that in the blue and orange.

37:32 And then as you mentioned it, it's the

37:34 young man from Belhaven University on

37:36 the bump tonight for the boys in blue

37:38 and orange, Brett Sanchez. Steak Steak,

37:41 as we love to call him here in Savannah

37:43 Land, making his first start for the

37:46 Tailgaters in 2026 as we can campaign

37:48 [cheering] in his third start ever in

37:50 Savannah. Well, those two previous

37:51 starts coming for the visitors in 2025,

37:54 but Steak Steak has been rather

37:55 disgusting on that bump.

37:57 >> [cheering]

37:57 >> He has been. I mean, gross is the best

37:59 way to put it for Brett Sanchez, but the

38:01 righty has quite the task on his hands

38:04 because he has to face off against a

38:05 Loco Beach lineup that leads the league

38:07 in batting average. They lead the league

38:09 in hits. They lead the league in

38:11 doubles. And that's because this

38:12 Coconuts offense, coached by Anthony

38:14 Marks and Mark Crocco, just sees beach

38:17 balls at the plate. So, it's really iron

38:20 versus iron. Brett Sanchez against the

38:22 top of the order that's headed by stars.

38:25 >> And let's look at those coconuts, as you

38:27 mentioned again, the big time lineup of

38:29 the coconuts bat, how they'll line up

38:31 one through 10.

38:33 >> Well, it leads off with Tanner Allen,

38:35 former national player of the year, tore

38:37 it up at the SEC en route to a national

38:40 championship. Then, we're getting Dalton

38:42 Melton in the two spot, and if you know

38:43 me, you know that I don't believe in

38:47 Okay, well, that's wrong. Dalton

38:48 Melton's batting second, Tanner Allen's

38:49 batting first. I don't believe in

38:51 secrets, I'll be transparent. Dalton

38:52 Melton, he's got himself a signature

38:54 walk-up that you're going to want to

38:55 look forward to.

38:59 >> [cheering]

39:01 >> We're going to say light the grill. So,

39:03 on three, I want you to help me say

39:05 light THE GRILL. READY? 1 2 3

39:10 >> [cheering]

39:12 >> SHOWTIME! Turn that thing on, Bart. It's

39:15 Coach Mick. Able to light it up. Are you

39:17 ready to play a little bit of animal

39:19 here in the Lone Star State? State,

39:22 state. Tanner Allen, first pitch, HIGH

39:24 IN the sky.

39:26 Out to center field.

39:28 Tip drill,

39:30 bucket for out number one of the ball

39:32 game. Indiana Stanley, welcome back to

39:34 the lineup, young man.

39:36 >> You can tell Tanner Allen's been waiting

39:38 to get that swing off for some weeks. He

39:40 was sprinting out of the box. If Stanley

39:42 doesn't corral that, that may turn into

39:44 a four-bagger instead. It's a great job

39:46 sticking with the play by the center

39:47 fielder.

39:48 >> And it looks like there's some gentlemen

39:50 gathering behind home plate.

39:52 What shall we have here, Dalton Melton?

39:59 >> [cheering]

40:33 [cheering]

40:39 [music]

41:00 >> Fire me up. I hate that I have to admit

41:02 to this, but I mean, I do know. Justin

41:05 Bieber having himself a moment right now

41:07 at Coachella. Sung it and I mean, I have

41:09 to say I think Don't Molde may have just

41:11 done one better. Songbird of our

41:12 generation up 1-0 in the count.

41:15 >> He's going to ball on a strike according

41:17 to Hector Gonzalez who's behind home

41:18 plate here this evening.

41:20 Stank stank. Working with quite the pace

41:22 thus far. One pitch, one out. Now in the

41:24 driver's seat. GOT IT. THROW MY GLOVE

41:27 OFF. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. Thank you,

41:30 Brett Sanchez. His first punch change in

41:33 his first ever start as a Texas

41:35 Tailgater.

41:36 >> He's ready to party like it's 3012

41:37 tonight. Brett Sanchez making it look

41:39 easy. Four pitches for the punchy, but

41:41 now he's got one of the hottest bats in

41:43 the sport walking up to the plate. Big

41:45 Maple. Lone Canadian-born player in

41:48 Bananaland ball has just started this

41:50 season on an otherworldly tear.

41:55 >> Listen to Scott trying to find it. Three

41:58 infielders. Jordan Barnhart. Trick play

42:01 missed. Nobody's covering second. So, a

42:03 trick play missed by JB will indeed be a

42:06 two-bagger and Taylor Justice had to run

42:08 over to third as Dane could have thought

42:11 about going there.

42:12 >> I want to challenge your thinking there

42:13 a little bit. Was that touched in the

42:14 air because if that just went straight

42:16 down onto the turf, yeah, that's a

42:17 double.

42:20 >> We will see what our official

42:21 scorekeeper Riley Turner scores it as.

42:24 As Armani Henderson

42:27 is now going to come in and run at

42:28 second.

42:34 >> [cheering]

42:40 >> The 1-1. Oh, Brewer way behind that one.

42:44 >> Brewer's a guy who has plenty of

42:45 experience at Hodgetown, former Texas

42:47 Leaguer.

42:47 >> Trick pitch.

42:48 >> Oh, stank stank.

42:51 Almost had another trick play there for

42:53 the Tailgaters.

42:56 >> Brewer hit a game-winning 10th inning

42:58 blast here at Hodgetown just a few years

43:00 ago.

43:04 >> The slowest pitch you'll ever see Brad

43:06 Sanchez throw, 56 mph. Calls it a

43:08 curveball, I don't really know what that

43:09 is.

43:10 >> is necessarily.

43:12 >> Coconuts with a chance to strike here.

43:15 Brewer fights another one off.

43:17 >> Big 10 Player of the Year in 2019, the

43:19 same year that this facility opened up

43:21 here in Amarillo.

43:23 Beautiful spot.

43:26 A lot of fans here, excited for the

43:28 first time that the Banana Ball has come

43:29 into town.

43:33 Again!

43:34 Brewer back to the net.

43:37 Brewer told me he expects to hit more

43:39 than one home run here this weekend.

43:42 And if I looked like that and had the

43:43 power he possessed playing in this Boom

43:44 Box, I'd like to think much of the same.

43:47 Sanchez trying to get out OF IT. GOT

43:48 HIM!

43:49 >> [screaming]

43:49 >> BACKWARDS K! Thank you! Thank you! Thank

43:53 you!

43:54 >> [cheering]

43:55 >> Brad Sanchez doesn't relinquish a hit in

43:58 his first inning of work, and the

43:59 Tailgaters have a big opportunity to

44:01 score that first run and point in the

44:03 home half.

44:05 >> Jordan Brewer choked up a bit off of the

44:06 knob, trying to get around on things

44:08 quicker, but instead he just couldn't

44:10 quite get to it. Stared at the second

44:12 straight strikeout, and it brings babies

44:14 out for the world's slowest race.

44:16 >> And what we like to call the world's

44:18 slowest race.

44:20 In just a moment, these babies are going

44:22 to get out to a blistering pace, but

44:23 first one across the finish LINE WILL BE

44:25 OUR WINNER. And Marulo,

44:26 are you ready?

44:29 All right, babies. On your mark, get

44:32 set,

44:33 go!

44:35 And they are off. To a low

44:38 >> Not a child has moved.

44:40 >> Maisie could not be able to

44:41 >> The parents have moved back, and they

44:43 have to move farther back.

44:46 It's an orange finish line.

44:49 Is that intriguing to any of these

44:50 youngsters?

44:51 It would not appear so.

44:53 Oh, she's crying.

44:55 Brutally crying.

44:57 A smile from that youngster. She's

44:59 crying profusely. Scared

45:03 of the grass.

45:05 Op.

45:06 That looked like me after the steak this

45:07 morning. Hunched over, ready to go to

45:10 sleep.

45:11 The finish line moves ever so closer for

45:14 these young lads and ladies.

45:15 >> Aw, looks like me and you.

45:19 Conversation potentially happening.

45:25 Will they ever move?

45:29 THEY ARE IN THE SAME SPOT AS WHEN WE

45:30 BEGAN.

45:33 The world's slowest race

45:35 has turned into a sit-off.

45:38 >> [cheering]

45:40 >> The young baby is still hunched over,

45:43 prepared to crawl,

45:45 but seemingly refusing to.

45:47 What is going on?

45:49 The finish LINE IS NOW 7 FT AWAY.

45:54 LOOK AT THIS ONE ON THE NEAR SIDE. A LEG

45:56 KICK IN THE AIR, but still no motion

45:58 forward.

46:00 >> And mom and dad are like, come on, come

46:01 on. It's moving closer yet again.

46:05 Oh, [cheering]

46:06 going the wrong way. You're going the

46:08 wrong way. Turn around.

46:11 Will we have a winner ever?

46:15 There's a baby laid over on its back.

46:19 Dear god.

46:21 Somebody won.

46:23 >> [cheering]

46:23 >> I don't know who.

46:26 Sure.

46:30 Absolutely. The world's slowest race.

46:33 And not a single child with a single

46:39 Oh my goodness, the coconut

46:41 cannonballer. First ever player selected

46:44 to Don Matiel in orange, the ace. Drake

46:47 Fontenot toes the rubber and he's got a

46:50 two-pitch arsenal his first time through

46:52 the order.

46:53 It's a two-seamer and a slider. They

46:55 look the same, tunnel the same out of

46:57 his hand, but run completely different

46:58 directions at bottom of the lot of

47:00 success last season.

47:02 Nick Lopez leading it off

47:03 for the fourth time in his Banana Ball

47:05 career in four straight ball games for

47:07 the Texas Tailgaters.

47:08 Lopi led off each of the three games in

47:10 the Banana Ball Open and the Tailgaters

47:12 won each of those three games.

47:14 Including Lopi playing hero

47:16 walking it off against those Savannah

47:18 Bananas in Showdowns to sweep the

47:20 Bananas in the two-game series to clinch

47:23 a playoff spot six months early.

47:25 In the sky, left side.

47:27 Out of play and out of the ball.

47:40 Ball and two now from the second overall

47:42 pick.

47:44 Right side to Cobo, between legs

47:47 dribble, bucket by a step for out number

47:49 one. Double dribble, illegal in

47:51 basketball, encouraged in Banana Ball.

47:54 Sal Giacobo, El Mago, a magician on the

47:57 right side of the dirt, gets the trick

47:59 play column all knotted up. And while

48:01 we're talking about that Loco Beach

48:02 defense, keep an eye out in center

48:04 field. For the first time this season,

48:05 Ben Parker not getting a start out

48:07 there. It's Grady Morgan, the designated

48:09 fielder,

48:10 manning the deepest part of the ballpark

48:12 here at Hodgetown.

48:15 >> [cheering]

48:15 >> Zack Watson,

48:17 who also able to return from injury at

48:19 UNC,

48:22 sends it out to left. First hit of the

48:23 ballgame will be in form of a Watty

48:25 Well, a single to left.

48:29 >> [cheering]

48:31 >> Able to stab it into the sod and just

48:32 find an opening. It's a good look from

48:34 Watson, and it brings up a guy who's

48:35 very familiar with success against the

48:37 Loco Beach Nuts. Kyle Martin, we talked

48:40 about it ad nauseam for good reason. Two

48:42 down,

48:43 ninth inning, golden batter,

48:45 able to get things done for the

48:47 Tailgaters in the biggest of ways the

48:48 last time these teams took off in the

48:50 Lone Star State.

48:52 >> Two yayas last weekend and open for

48:54 K-Mart as well. You know, he is good.

48:57 Now, I have to do the math. Five of his

48:59 six home runs in banana ball since he

49:02 and I begin having weekly dinners

49:04 together. So, K-Mart and I,

49:07 okay.

49:08 So, we'll take a pause on that story.

49:10 Rex Castillo has something for us.

49:11 Actually, real quick, Rex. Single out to

49:13 center. Watty [cheering]

49:15 trying to go first to third. MORGAN

49:17 THROWS IT BACK IN. NO!

49:20 REGGIE WENT TO GO CALL HIM SAFE and then

49:22 got him out.

49:25 >> Grady Morgan in center field, are you

49:27 kidding? His debut.

49:30 >> [cheering]

49:31 >> And it's an absolute bow and arrow to

49:34 catch the runner on his way to third.

49:36 THAT'S HOW YOU HELP the Coconut

49:37 Cannonballer. What an effort.

49:45 Perfect throw.

49:47 Toplin's lead foot looked like it

49:49 stopped him from getting to the bag in

49:51 time.

49:54 Now with two outs,

49:56 see if we still have Rex Castillo down

49:58 there.

50:00 >> Hey pal, still down here. Quick note

50:01 about why this roster change happened.

50:04 Speaking with coach Crocco at the

50:05 beginning of the game, he wanted to

50:06 honor everything that Dalton [music]

50:08 Malden did for this team, being a

50:10 tremendous teammate and while a veteran

50:11 of Banana Ball and obviously a

50:13 high-profile pick for the Coconuts, he

50:15 has done everything he can to get

50:16 everyone acclimated to this new sport

50:18 cuz there's a lot of new players on the

50:19 Coconuts. So, giving him that spot and

50:21 that walk-up was a big tip of the cap

50:23 from Crocco to Malden. Back to you.

50:25 >> Dribbler, Toplin, no play anywhere,

50:28 throws it back to second. Ooh, K-Mart

50:31 just back in time. An infield single for

50:33 JV as he continues his hot streak.

50:35 >> Wow, so much to unpack. First and

50:37 foremost, I liked where you were going

50:39 with the Kyle Martin thing. You guys

50:41 have been getting

50:42 >> What was that?

50:42 >> We'll get to that. We'll get to that

50:44 next time. Up 100%. We've had dinner.

50:46 Great play there from Dane Toplin. Yeah,

50:47 K-Mart and I have had dinner. Each of

50:49 the last three weeks. Taj Porter joined

50:51 us the first one, Joe Michelich the

50:52 second, Chris Clark this past week

50:54 joined us. And I told K-Mart, I said, "I

50:56 I think your success is definitely much

50:58 so translated to us having dinner

51:00 together." Five of your six-on-runs

51:02 >> [laughter]

51:02 >> in 2026 have come since we started

51:05 having dinner. We won the Banana Ball

51:07 Open Tournament since we started having

51:09 dinner together.

51:09 >> So, Brett, something they start teaching

51:10 as soon as elementary school i- i- is

51:12 correlation, right? Just because

51:15 something is happening doesn't mean it's

51:16 correlated. I don't think that's the

51:18 case here. I think it is correlated. I'm

51:20 going to choose to believe he's mashing

51:22 because you guys are eating good.

51:24 >> First base side, fans an opportunity.

51:28 Nope.

51:29 Taylor Justice, the only player in the

51:31 Tailgaters lineup hitting .400 so far

51:34 this season in such a prolific offense.

51:36 Taylor Justice is having a breakout

51:38 sophomore campaign.

51:40 He's got a chance to walk it off here.

51:42 Kyle Martin representing the

51:43 inning-winning run. And now a ball away

51:47 from giving the Tailgaters a one to

51:48 nothing lead. [music]

51:55 And that's it.

51:57 A walk-off ball four sprint for the man

51:59 who just stays hot. Taylor Justice has

52:03 the boys in blue and orange leading one

52:05 to nothing after one frame.

52:07 >> It's been the Achilles heel all season

52:09 long to this point for Loco Beach. They

52:11 lead the league now 59 ball four sprints

52:15 issued and that gives these guys a

52:17 reason to dance.

52:25 >> Can you do this?

52:27 >> [laughter]

52:29 >> You've seen me on the dance floor. You

52:30 know the answer's no.

52:35 Doesn't mean I wouldn't try.

52:37 >> see you try to hit a gritty yesterday.

52:38 >> No, you didn't.

52:40 Uh-oh.

52:42 I'm getting word we have another race.

52:43 Scoot 66 on the field.

52:45 >> All righty Amarillo, the world's slowest

52:48 race was a little anticlimactic. So we

52:50 thought we'd bring out the dads of the

52:52 world's slowest race babies for a chance

52:55 to redeem their families.

52:57 These dads are going to have to race by

52:58 scooting on their butts to be the first

53:01 one across that finish line and since

53:03 we're here in Amarillo, we thought we'd

53:04 call this one Scoot 66.

53:08 All righty gentlemen, on your marks, GET

53:10 SET,

53:13 GO!

53:14 >> A lot of grown men

53:16 on their bottoms scooting.

53:19 Some in Tailgater jerseys, some

53:22 in non-Tailgater jerseys.

53:25 >> [cheering]

53:26 >> Oh, there's a MAN WAY OUT FRONT.

53:28 HE'S SCOOTING ON HIS BOTTOM.

53:31 And he belly flops over. I don't know

53:33 what was better, Scoot 66 or the world's

53:36 slowest race. [cheering]

53:37 >> I think the best part's going tarps off

53:39 after. He had the Texas Tech tech on.

53:41 They just had a player last night

53:43 selected highest ever in the NFL draft

53:45 second overall to my New York Jets. And

53:46 you know what? I think he may be more of

53:48 a winner than David Bailey cuz there's

53:49 not many times that you can say you won

53:52 Scoot 66 has been 50 NFL drafts. A lot

53:55 of people can say they've gone second

53:56 overall.

53:58 >> I knew you'd find a way somehow to bring

54:00 up the NFL draft.

54:01 Considering it's owned in the press box

54:03 right now.

54:04 Not on my computer, but I'll

54:06 let your mind wonder whose computer it

54:08 is.

54:08 Somebody's.

54:09 >> Asdrubal

54:10 face of the franchise leading off here.

54:12 Bettancourt starts him off one and oh.

54:15 >> Vining

54:17 is a guy who uses purple shampoo Monday,

54:20 Wednesday, Friday. And then he says

54:21 depending on how the series is going

54:23 sometimes he'll mix it in on Sunday,

54:24 too.

54:26 His wife's a hair stylist and he said

54:28 you don't get blonde hair like that

54:30 without consistent effort. He's been

54:33 putting it in from the very get-go.

54:37 >> Spinks takes with a ball and two. Flips

54:39 it back

54:40 >> and is back. TRICK PITCH INCOMING. TRICK

54:42 PLAY! BUCKET! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

54:45 Thank you!

54:49 His third strike out of the night that's

54:51 number one here in the second.

54:54 >> [cheering]

55:03 >> Brings up Eric Hosmer at the plate.

55:07 He's just above the Mendoza line this

55:09 season.

55:10 The 10-year professional

55:13 houses one of the best one-piece card

55:15 collections on this earth and I'm not

55:17 exaggerating.

55:20 But they're in a bank so don't even

55:21 think about trying to get to them.

55:24 >> Being informed that was not a trick

55:25 play.

55:28 Because of the gather.

55:29 He ruled out the third here to Reggie on

55:30 this one from Eric Hosmer.

55:33 It says Eric did not go around.

55:39 >> [cheering]

55:39 >> Let's go, Mets.

55:41 >> I know we're trying to up the standard

55:43 with what a trick play is.

55:46 Didn't look like a conventional pitch to

55:48 me.

55:48 >> No.

55:50 Let this go out, came back around his

55:52 back.

55:53 Same because he regathered on the center

55:55 and it's because it's not a quick one.

55:57 >> Maybe it was the pause.

55:59 >> GOT HIM AGAIN!

56:01 AN UNPRECEDENTED FOURTH. THANK YOU.

56:03 Thank you. Thank you.

56:05 >> Already.

56:06 >> Stakes, thank you're disgusting to begin

56:08 the ballgame here in Amarillo.

56:10 >> Oh my goodness, he's got to stop. I've

56:12 heard Brett Law just say thank you 12

56:14 times thanks to this guy now. Brett

56:16 Sanchez continues to shove against this

56:18 Coconut team. He's got Shaukat Anya all

56:20 smiles after seeing that celebration on

56:22 the hill.

56:25 >> Payton Shaukat Anya.

56:27 Couple guys who were visiting

56:30 a year ago in 2025 under Mark Crocco.

56:33 Shaukat told me this is the weekend he's

56:34 going to get going offensively.

56:36 See the average down there at the bottom

56:37 right corner of the screen on our brand

56:39 new scoreboard.

56:41 But he's going to get it going this

56:42 weekend according to him. NOT RIGHT

56:43 THERE. MY GOODNESS, HE STRIKES OUT THE

56:46 SIDE. Thank you infinity. Brett Sanchez,

56:50 WELCOME TO STARTING A BALLGAME FOR THE

56:52 TEXAS TAILGATERS. FIVE PUNCHOUTS

56:54 ALREADY. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED BY

56:57 STAKES THING?

57:01 >> Angel Zang, right? Home run sells seats.

57:05 Strikeouts are here. No, I love that.

57:07 Brett Sanchez is playing at a completely

57:10 different level. Five strikeouts through

57:12 two innings. That's what you want from

57:14 your starting pitcher and he's given a

57:15 lot of reasons to thank you. Thank you.

57:18 Thank [cheering] you.

57:20 Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

57:23 And and and again, thank you. Thank you.

57:25 Thank you.

57:27 One more time, I didn't hear you.

57:28 Gracias. Grazie. Thank you.

57:31 >> Shout out Jito, Jose Benitez.

57:34 >> That thank you has become a signature

57:36 celly this year from Brett Sanchez.

57:38 >> And I'm going to be honest with you all.

57:39 If I can tell you a secret between me,

57:40 you, and God.

57:41 >> [cheering]

57:42 >> I was very much so out on this

57:44 celebration to begin the year.

57:46 But you strike out as many guys as Brett

57:48 Sanchez has this year. Now running that

57:50 count up to 19 on the year with five

57:52 already here this evening. [cheering]

57:54 You can do that as much as you possibly

57:56 want to.

57:56 >> So Brett Sanchez has looked great,

57:58 right? But I want to focus on the guy on

57:59 our screens at home, Drake Fontenot.

58:01 Because when you take a pitcher second

58:03 overall, it is for when he takes the

58:05 mound, you want those starts to be what

58:07 you've been getting from Chris Clark

58:08 with the Tailgaters. What you've been

58:09 getting from Noah Niznick with the

58:11 Bananas. It needs to be utter domination

58:13 from Drake Fontenot. And after allowing

58:15 that first inning point, let's see how

58:17 he battles back. Because this is a guy

58:19 who has

58:20 just a brain made of titanium. He is

58:22 really good at leaving the past in the

58:24 past. But he's got to locate to be able

58:26 to help his team hold this deficit at

58:28 one.

58:29 >> That depth

58:31 who has a regular season six-game

58:33 extra-base hitting streak is in the

58:35 driver's seat here. Three balls and no

58:36 strikes.

58:40 Drake able to get back into a three

58:41 balls and one.

58:43 Brad Grandrich Flores.

58:45 Somewhere in this world TD and Randy

58:47 Dance are watching tonight as is

58:50 Max Brad Eileen.

58:56 Mac very good weekend last week

58:58 including an inning-winning walk-off

59:00 on Sunday to win over the Bananas in the

59:02 opener.

59:03 And a ball four sprint for Mac and Dude.

59:05 How far will he go?

59:07 Big round at first, but that's as far as

59:09 he'll go. Back-to-back ball four sprints

59:11 now that Drake Fontenot has issued out.

59:13 The walk-off sprint to Taylor Justice in

59:15 the first and now to lead off the

59:16 second.

59:18 >> Also an opportunity there to see Ben

59:19 Parker has taken over again in center

59:21 field. He was a part of that ball four

59:23 sprint defense that faces off against

59:25 the Tailgaters lineup that this season

59:27 has hit 10 of their lead leading league

59:30 leading rather 17 home runs in football

59:32 stadiums. So, both of these teams have

59:34 hit [music] seven in baseball parks, but

59:35 this one plays more like a football

59:37 field with the dimensions than your

59:39 typical baseball stadium.

59:42 >> Quadfather behind 0 and 1.

59:44 TP just such great two-strike hitting

59:48 in the open.

59:53 Trying to translate that now back to

59:57 the regular season.

59:58 As just a reminder for those watching at

59:59 home, the open wins, losses, and

1:00:01 individual stats do not count towards

1:00:04 the 61 games of regular season play.

1:00:06 Grub is

1:00:08 trying to do a dance.

1:00:09 Now Drake in another three-ball count.

1:00:16 Come on, throw him the dark one, pitch.

1:00:18 And another ball for Sprint.

1:00:21 Mac Noodle on his horse.

1:00:24 Coconuts clean transfer.

1:00:26 Got to be runners on the corner still

1:00:28 with no out. Jacob Peppersick will now

1:00:30 run at first. Good to see Pip come back

1:00:33 after we didn't see him in the open

1:00:35 after being injured at the University of

1:00:36 North Carolina.

1:00:37 >> I think that hot dog went straight to

1:00:39 his quads.

1:00:40 I do. And I also think that

1:00:43 it is good to see these Tailgaters

1:00:45 having such a mature approach at the

1:00:47 plate. They're almost daring Drake

1:00:49 Fontenot to throw strikes. They have no

1:00:50 intent of taking that bat off their

1:00:52 shoulder until he fills up the zone, and

1:00:54 that's what you need to do to stack

1:00:56 points early in a ballgame against a

1:00:58 team like Loco Beach that consistently

1:01:00 gets better as the game rolls forward.

1:01:02 They've been the kings of the comeback.

1:01:03 >> This one hit to the outfield. Center Ben

1:01:06 Parker just came in the ballgame, slides

1:01:08 for it. Mac doesn't tag up. Would have

1:01:11 been a very close play, but a heck of a

1:01:13 play there

1:01:14 for out number one.

1:01:16 >> So, two different center fielders have

1:01:17 made two different big plays for the

1:01:19 Coconuts. Now, it was Grady Morgan

1:01:20 catching a runner at third, and now Ben

1:01:22 Parker somehow able to hold the runner

1:01:24 there with the diving grab. I don't know

1:01:26 what the plan was there on the bases.

1:01:29 >> Two runners in scoring position, infield

1:01:30 in. The only one that matters is the

1:01:32 runner at third. It's by July, Jason

1:01:34 Art. He had a walk-off in the open, a

1:01:36 couple of knocks as well. Gets to start

1:01:38 in right field tonight.

1:01:42 Jason still looking for his first dinger

1:01:44 of 2026. Now, Drake Fontenot gets that

1:01:46 0-2.

1:01:53 Tell you what, Jason is a whole lot we

1:01:54 play these headliner games.

1:01:56 He's out in the plaza singing pregame,

1:01:58 does all the in-game or in-venue, I

1:02:00 should say, announcements to the

1:02:01 players, and is also getting the start

1:02:03 in right field. Right there, Drake

1:02:04 Fontenot battling back, getting out

1:02:06 number two via strikeout. His first of

1:02:08 the ballgame.

1:02:08 >> Music to Drake's ears right there,

1:02:10 because if he can get out of this inning

1:02:12 unscathed, I I mean, that's huge. That's

1:02:14 huge for the confidence of number six on

1:02:16 the bump. Now, one out away from doing

1:02:17 such, he's in a big-time spot against

1:02:20 the 10-hole bat, Jordan Hussein.

1:02:22 Who's got it done with the glove and arm

1:02:24 this season, but is still looking to get

1:02:25 things going at the plate.

1:02:33 >> Quickly 0-2 on Jordan Hussein.

1:02:41 Hussein

1:02:43 shallow left.

1:02:44 Shot near calling off everybody and has

1:02:46 it. What a big-time get out there from

1:02:49 Drake Fontenot, stranding the

1:02:51 inning-winning run on third with men

1:02:53 out, and then getting out of it with no

1:02:55 damage.

1:02:55 >> That is the player that coach Crocco

1:02:58 envisioned starting series for his team

1:03:00 when he took him with the second overall

1:03:02 pick. The only player selected after

1:03:05 Jackie Bradley Jr. I I mean, it was

1:03:07 immediate, and you know that puts you in

1:03:09 really special company for Drake

1:03:11 Fontenot. That's what you're looking for

1:03:12 when he takes the mound. It remains a

1:03:15 Tailgaters 1-0 lead as we head to the

1:03:17 third.

1:03:18 >> Let's look at these dingers, shall we?

1:03:20 So far here in 2026, [cheering]

1:03:24 it's the boys in blue and orange sitting

1:03:26 atop this leaderboard, and for very good

1:03:28 reason. They have played already three

1:03:31 games [cheering] across two football

1:03:32 stadiums. 10 of those 17 home runs have

1:03:35 come in football stadiums. You look down

1:03:37 there in last, it's the Animals and the

1:03:38 Coconuts tied with seven. That's how

1:03:40 many home runs the Tailgaters have hit

1:03:41 in non-football stadiums. So, really,

1:03:44 the lack of football stadiums, or maybe

1:03:46 the plethora there of for the

1:03:47 Tailgaters, have helped inflate those

1:03:48 numbers in a very good way.

1:03:49 >> I will be candid, however, in saying

1:03:51 it's very interesting the correlation

1:03:54 between home runs by team in the current

1:03:55 standings. The Tailgaters at the top won

1:03:57 the open there in the playoffs. The

1:03:58 Coconuts and Party Animals tied at the

1:04:00 bottom are also tied in last in the

1:04:02 standings. So, the bats got to wake up

1:04:04 with some power in them and some oomph

1:04:05 swings here for this heart of the order.

1:04:08 >> [cheering]

1:04:09 >> High in the sky out to center. INDY

1:04:11 TRACKING BACK. LOOK IT UP! [screaming]

1:04:13 AND IT one-hops the fence off of him out

1:04:15 of getting Anto. Gideon on his horse.

1:04:17 He's easily going to get the third as

1:04:20 he'll slide in anyways. A lead-off

1:04:22 triple. The first hit of the ballgame

1:04:24 for the Coconuts.

1:04:25 >> The Ant Man. That's how you wake up with

1:04:28 a dangerous swing with some oomph behind

1:04:30 it. All the way to the 400-ft sign in

1:04:33 center. Got it over Stanley's head, and

1:04:35 now it's a three-bagger to get things

1:04:37 going for a Loco Beach team that needed

1:04:39 [cheering] exactly that.

1:04:45 >> First pitch misses away to Sal Giacoma,

1:04:49 who, man, has been on an absolute heater

1:04:51 to begin the year

1:04:53 for the Teal.

1:04:54 Salamander, obviously a Party Animal in

1:04:56 his rookie campaign of 2025.

1:04:59 >> [cheering]

1:05:00 >> Played in the absence of Chase Acuff,

1:05:01 and he's taken all that positive

1:05:03 momentum to conclude 2025 into 2026.

1:05:06 >> [cheering]

1:05:09 >> Elevates to left.

1:05:10 Zack Watson coming on it. Watty going to

1:05:12 power and throw. Still a good arm from

1:05:15 that man. Won two gold gloves at LSU for

1:05:17 a reason. As he'll hold hand tail to

1:05:19 third.

1:05:20 >> [cheering]

1:05:21 >> Good decision from Gideon to hold on.

1:05:23 With nobody away until that grab was

1:05:25 made, you've still got some time to play

1:05:27 with. [music and singing]

1:05:28 Definitely don't want to make out two on

1:05:29 the bases with a power bat like Brett

1:05:31 Carson coming to the plate in a big time

1:05:34 revenge spot. Brett, you got very

1:05:37 familiar with dual threat be everywhere

1:05:40 Brett Carson a season ago both on the

1:05:41 mound and at the plate. And now here he

1:05:43 is as the team's DH in the 10 spot.

1:05:46 >> Good to see BC getting some more plate

1:05:48 appearances. Didn't get his first one of

1:05:50 the year until San Diego.

1:05:52 Now has been a more consistent bat in

1:05:54 this lineup.

1:05:56 Fans have an opportunity down the third

1:05:58 base line.

1:05:58 >> [music]

1:05:59 >> Ooh, a coconut fan let that one slip

1:06:01 between his hands.

1:06:03 >> I would hope so. Brett Carson at the

1:06:05 this be everywhere Brett.

1:06:09 >> Ooh, just misses on the inner half there

1:06:12 to BC.

1:06:13 Ball four Sprint can plate the first run

1:06:15 of the evening for the coconuts.

1:06:18 Getting sliced foul.

1:06:22 Rattles off the What is that? Snowballs.

1:06:25 I don't

1:06:26 know what that is.

1:06:27 Never had a snowball AJ?

1:06:29 >> Oh my gosh, I eat snow every day.

1:06:31 >> You're too young for all that.

1:06:40 >> Moving away from eating snow, which is

1:06:42 something that I really enjoy as long as

1:06:44 it's yellow. Brett Carson has earned

1:06:47 these extra looks because you watch him

1:06:48 at batting practice, it's so

1:06:49 professional, it's so patient, and it's

1:06:51 really impressed coach Crocco.

1:06:54 >> GOT HIM.

1:06:56 BRETT CARSON, THANK YOU. Thank you.

1:06:59 Thank you.

1:07:01 His sixth strikeout through one turn in

1:07:03 the lineup.

1:07:09 >> Got him fishing. Carson couldn't reel

1:07:10 anything in. Sanchez is just on another

1:07:13 level right now and it brings the lineup

1:07:15 right back to the top for Tanner Allen

1:07:17 and he's got to find a way to score

1:07:18 Ancho from third.

1:07:20 >> Can Brett Sanchez match Drake Fontenot

1:07:23 stranding that run at third the same way

1:07:26 Drake did in the bottom of the second?

1:07:28 Ooh, a sword to get it 0-1 2.

1:07:33 TA, play without a shirt on. Find him on

1:07:35 the helmet. Steak, steak.

1:07:37 A waste pitch.

1:07:39 Talk about a battle

1:07:41 of a Division III legend versus the

1:07:43 national player of the year in Division

1:07:44 I baseball in 2021 and Tanner Allen.

1:07:50 WHAT DID HE DO?

1:07:52 PRECIOUS, THANK YOU. YOU KNOW WHAT THE

1:07:55 COCONUTS ARE SAYING? DANA AUTO.

1:07:57 YOU'RE WELCOME.

1:07:59 THEY CAN'T TOUCH HIM.

1:08:02 LET'S send it down to the field for

1:08:03 Bananas Foster.

1:08:04 >> Foster, Bella Lane.

1:08:08 >> Across the United States, there are over

1:08:10 400,000 children and teens in foster

1:08:14 care without a permanent home. To raise

1:08:16 [music] awareness and support this

1:08:18 community, we created Bananas Foster,

1:08:21 the official [music]

1:08:23 nonprofit of Banana Ball. Our

1:08:25 organization is dedicated to celebrating

1:08:29 those in the foster care community while

1:08:31 educating and inspiring others to get

1:08:35 involved. Tonight, we are celebrating

1:08:38 the Williams family. As a paramedic,

1:08:42 Jodan already serves his community, yet

1:08:46 he felt called to do more.

1:08:49 >> [music]

1:08:49 >> Five years ago, he became a single

1:08:53 license foster dad with a passion for

1:08:56 caring for medically fragile kiddos. In

1:09:00 total, he has welcomed six children into

1:09:04 his home. Fans, please join us in

1:09:07 celebrating this amazing man for making

1:09:10 a difference right here in your

1:09:12 community.

1:09:35 >> Bella Lane on the field introducing the

1:09:38 Williams family. [screaming]

1:09:39 Here in Amarillo. What a special moment.

1:09:42 The first time an Animobile is able to

1:09:43 touch down here

1:09:45 in Amarillo, Texas. That also means the

1:09:47 first time that the most special moment

1:09:49 of each and every Banana Ball game gets

1:09:52 to happen here in front of all 7,000

1:09:54 people at Hodge Town.

1:09:56 The Bananas Foster Family of the Night.

1:09:58 You can text bunch to 501-555

1:10:01 and support Bananas Foster as well.

1:10:09 Bottom of the third inning here in

1:10:11 Amarillo, Texas.

1:10:14 And what a

1:10:16 very odd ball game we've had thus far.

1:10:19 Couple of pitchers that have gotten out

1:10:21 of some tough jams. Drake Faught snow

1:10:23 gave up a walk-off ball four sprint in

1:10:24 the first. Now beginning his third

1:10:26 inning of work. He'll face the top of

1:10:28 the order here in Lopez, Watson, and

1:10:29 Kaleb.

1:10:31 >> It's a tall task for Drake Faught snow,

1:10:33 but he's got to be feeling good after

1:10:34 what he was able to do in the bottom of

1:10:36 the second inning. Couple of runners in

1:10:37 scoring position. He rallied to get

1:10:39 three straight outs with some help from

1:10:41 his defense and a big punch out when the

1:10:43 doctor ordered it urgently. Lopez,

1:10:46 Watson, Martin. Pound-for-pound one of

1:10:48 the toughest tops of the order in any

1:10:50 lineup here in Banana Ball. It's a big

1:10:52 test for Faught snow who looks to make

1:10:53 it back-to-back scoreless innings.

1:10:57 >> Not if Lopez has anything to say about

1:11:03 Ooh, disgusting pitch to get to one one.

1:11:07 >> He really only brings that [music]

1:11:08 curveball out in his second time through

1:11:09 the order. That's why.

1:11:14 >> What about that second time you ate that

1:11:16 steak this morning?

1:11:18 You went in for seconds and then thirds

1:11:19 and then fourths.

1:11:21 72 oz steak challenge at the Big Texan.

1:11:23 AJ Swab, Tech myself,

1:11:25 Joe Filomeno and Jason Art participated

1:11:27 in it.

1:11:28 >> Oh, come on. It wasn't Jason Art.

1:11:30 >> It was Jose Bracamonies alias Jason Art

1:11:31 was supposed to come. Thank you. Glad

1:11:33 that you said that.

1:11:34 >> I got to give Brotherton some credit cuz

1:11:35 he was on your team.

1:11:36 >> He was, but Jason Art was supposed to

1:11:38 come and said, "I don't want to do

1:11:39 that." He said, "I can't eat that much

1:11:40 steak at 9:00 a.m." Drake Fardno says,

1:11:42 "I don't care what time it is. I can get

1:11:44 a punch out for out number one." But,

1:11:46 back to the point. Jason's supposed to

1:11:47 come. [cheering] Brother call somebody

1:11:50 out of the bullpen. Brother's like, "Hey

1:11:51 man,

1:11:53 I can eat as much as you need me to."

1:11:55 He ate legitimately 40 oz of that steak.

1:11:59 >> [cheering]

1:11:59 >> Where is Zach Watson?

1:12:02 Where's he at?

1:12:03 I want to see Zach Watson. Where's he

1:12:04 at?

1:12:05 >> [cheering]

1:12:06 >> Ooh, spicy.

1:12:12 >> [cheering]

1:12:44 [music]

1:12:52 [music]

1:12:57 [music]

1:13:06 >> It does feel like we're on VACATION CUZ

1:13:08 WE'RE ALREADY LOCKED IN TO THE

1:13:09 POSTSEASON. WADDY WITH HIS FORMER

1:13:12 TEAMMATE BRETT Carson there wearing a

1:13:15 bikini to begin that walk up. Coconut

1:13:18 oil now on Waddy. Absolutely serve face

1:13:22 did Mr. Waddy. Yes, he'll fall behind 0

1:13:24 and 1.

1:13:25 >> My favorite part of that whole walk up

1:13:26 was the diet coke.

1:13:29 >> Okay.

1:13:30 >> It's my silver That's my silver lady.

1:13:31 And when I see it, it just gets me

1:13:33 going.

1:13:33 >> Waddy, he's got going tonight.

1:13:36 Two for two thus far.

1:13:38 I know Miss Jess is watching at home,

1:13:40 his lovely bride.

1:13:42 Very happy about the face he served.

1:13:43 He's also very happy about Waddy getting

1:13:46 off to a hot start. Just Eric Lizzly

1:13:47 without a shirt on.

1:13:48 >> I need you to explain for the plenty of

1:13:50 people my parents included at home who

1:13:52 are watching.

1:13:53 >> probably, too.

1:13:53 >> What is serving face?

1:13:55 >> Mewing.

1:13:56 >> What is mewing?

1:14:01 >> Game over.

1:14:02 >> [cheering]

1:14:03 >> Thought he was going to save me from

1:14:04 having to explain mewing.

1:14:05 >> Um [laughter]

1:14:07 >> You do this thing where you like you

1:14:09 suck the cheeks in and like hold your

1:14:11 chin up. It's what the kids tell me. You

1:14:14 tell me this. You should know this

1:14:15 better than anybody else. You're 17

1:14:16 years old.

1:14:17 >> Well, I see to me mewing and serving

1:14:19 face are not synonyms. Serving face

1:14:21 >> are synonyms. They're not the same

1:14:23 thing.

1:14:23 >> I thought serving face was See, I I

1:14:25 don't know either. I feel like mature

1:14:28 well beyond my years. Sometimes I sit

1:14:30 next to you and I think, man, am I 90?

1:14:33 >> You serve face all the time.

1:14:34 >> Oh, man. I don't know what that means,

1:14:36 but

1:14:36 >> Lister on Friday night. Good.

1:14:39 And that will obviously be ruled a

1:14:41 single. Hopefully everything's okay with

1:14:43 Drake.

1:14:44 See, he took a high chopper right off of

1:14:46 the body.

1:14:49 >> We get another look at it. It looks like

1:14:50 it just went in and out of that leather.

1:14:52 Tough break for Fontenot, but he's got a

1:14:54 good defense behind him. Runner holds at

1:14:56 second. There's now a pair on, but

1:14:58 really the only one you're focused on is

1:14:59 the lead runner. That's the inning

1:15:01 winning run for Texas.

1:15:02 >> Jordan Barth serving face. So come up

1:15:04 for his second time tonight.

1:15:08 Single in his [music] first time.

1:15:09 >> My understanding of serving face is just

1:15:11 looking pretty.

1:15:12 >> 100%.

1:15:14 That's it.

1:15:15 >> And I thought mewing

1:15:16 >> it the whole time.

1:15:17 >> mewing was more trying to look pretty.

1:15:20 >> saying that a rectangle, excuse me, a

1:15:23 square is a rectangle, but a rectangle's

1:15:25 not a square.

1:15:26 Type type situation, if you will.

1:15:28 Opportunity for Dane. Oh, he whips it.

1:15:32 What do you come home to score? And

1:15:34 that'll be a walk-off via an E5 for the

1:15:37 boys in blue and orange who take a

1:15:39 two-nothing lead.

1:15:41 >> I mean, there's no way around that.

1:15:42 That's brutal. That's a really tough

1:15:44 mistake on the hot corner from a guy who

1:15:45 has been so sure-fired there this

1:15:47 season.

1:15:48 Not much of an explanation. That's one

1:15:50 Dane Topfer would tell you he'd like to

1:15:52 have every time. Instead, it's a

1:15:54 two-nothing lead and we go down to the

1:15:56 field for Can-Jam.

1:15:57 >> All righty, Emerald. You know that the

1:15:59 Texas Tailgaters love to tailgate. One

1:16:01 of the most important part of a tailgate

1:16:03 are those tailgate games. You might be

1:16:05 familiar with the classic Can-Jam, but

1:16:07 this is banana ball. So whenever it's

1:16:09 normal, we're going to do the opposite.

1:16:10 As you see, we have cans all the way

1:16:13 down the foul line. It's going to be up

1:16:15 to these two competitors to stomp on

1:16:17 those cans to be the first one to home

1:16:18 plate to chug the final can and smash it

1:16:21 on his head. We made this a competition,

1:16:24 of course. CJ, who's over there at third

1:16:25 base.

1:16:26 >> Over here, we have Jose, and he was

1:16:28 letting me know that he is a

1:16:29 can-smashing machine.

1:16:32 >> Nobody cares, cuz right over here I got

1:16:34 Ron, and he told me that he's the most

1:16:37 athletic bald man on this field. Ron,

1:16:40 come here. Line him up in front of those

1:16:42 cans. We're going to get to stomping.

1:16:48 And we're going to start stomping in 3,

1:16:50 2, 1, go!

1:16:57 Ron is on the move.

1:16:58 >> WE GOT IT. WE'RE TAKING THIS HOME ALL

1:17:00 THE

1:17:00 >> I mean, the amount of athletic ability

1:17:02 that's needed to crush cans like this is

1:17:04 nothing short of spectacular. This looks

1:17:07 like a Muncie, Indiana bar on any given

1:17:10 Tuesday. Get down TO THAT KNEE. GEORGE,

1:17:12 MY GOSH. PUT IT ON YOUR BALD HEAD. OH,

1:17:16 MAN. Loco Beach wins. Maybe that's the

1:17:19 Zen we needed all night long. We're

1:17:21 still just getting started. Only three

1:17:24 innings into this one. Maybe the tide's

1:17:25 going to turn for Loco Beach after that

1:17:28 athletic feat of stomping on cans and

1:17:30 chugging a diet Coke again any given

1:17:33 Tuesday up in Muncie, Indiana.

1:17:35 >> You're too young to know about a can

1:17:37 game.

1:17:39 Are you?

1:17:40 >> I thought it was the game where you

1:17:41 threw the Frisbee.

1:17:43 So, yes, I am.

1:17:49 >> Popeye?

1:17:59 Oh, man. Wow.

1:18:02 >> Oh my gosh. He's able to blow his

1:18:04 muscles up.

1:18:05 Ben.

1:18:07 And he's got two new tattoos. The

1:18:10 anchors.

1:18:12 The pipe, the spinach. Oh my gosh. 10

1:18:15 out of 10, no notes. He's serving abs.

1:18:24 He served some face there as well.

1:18:28 Best body in Banana Ball, Ben Pumps

1:18:30 Parker.

1:18:31 Hitting 395

1:18:33 with spinach dripping on him. Pops it up

1:18:36 into the sky.

1:18:37 Oh, BUT IT GETS DOWN THOUGH. BEN PARKER

1:18:41 in the second, THERE'S MORE TROUBLE.

1:18:43 HE'S NOT STOPPING THERE.

1:18:44 >> [cheering]

1:18:45 >> BEN PARKER PUMPED BY THE SAILOR MAN.

1:18:50 >> How possibly shall we score that?

1:18:52 >> [cheering]

1:18:52 >> Uh that's what I want to know. Not a

1:18:54 single Tailgater touched the ball until

1:18:56 the throwing error in the center. So,

1:18:58 clearly there's one error on the play.

1:19:01 Is there any way we can see replay this?

1:19:03 Cuz this is the second time this year

1:19:06 that we have seen the Tailgaters in

1:19:09 infield missing.

1:19:11 So, it will be officially considered a

1:19:13 double and then an E2 throwing error by

1:19:15 Taj Porter.

1:19:17 Wow.

1:19:19 I

1:19:20 Welcome to Banana Ball, I guess. I

1:19:22 First time I've ever seen that play

1:19:24 after a walk-off.

1:19:24 >> Kids, that is why you eat your spinach.

1:19:27 Only good things happen when you eat

1:19:28 your spinach. That's what I was taught

1:19:30 and I guess it's kind of worked for me.

1:19:32 Dave gets under the glove of Taylor

1:19:35 Justice and the first run of the ball

1:19:37 game scores for Loco Beach. And what do

1:19:39 they have here?

1:19:41 >> That, my friends, is why you drink maple

1:19:43 syrup through the straw.

1:19:45 And here comes the crab. KP, show us how

1:19:48 it's done.

1:19:56 >> [music]

1:20:01 [laughter]

1:20:03 >> I didn't know we were at a crab

1:20:05 >> crab [music] rave.

1:20:11 >> I would consider this one serving

1:20:13 seafood.

1:20:16 >> Whatever they're serving, I want [music]

1:20:18 seconds. Armani Henderson getting into

1:20:21 it and spearing from the bases.

1:20:23 This is good stuff, man. We're in sync.

1:20:25 We're raving. And Kyle Berry's fired

1:20:28 off. He's 101 whether it's in a crab

1:20:30 suit or not. I I guess now the only

1:20:32 thing on my mind is I really could use

1:20:34 some crab legs.

1:20:35 >> Now batting

1:20:36 >> Sanchez trying to lock it in.

1:20:39 After giving up a double that didn't

1:20:40 touch anybody. And then an RBI single as

1:20:43 Armani Henderson running in place of

1:20:45 Dane Tofflen over at first.

1:20:49 So good the first time through the order

1:20:51 was Brett Sanchez. 1 2 3 4 5 6 strike

1:20:55 out. He has seven on the night. Double

1:20:57 play opportunity. Fiver only play at

1:20:59 first.

1:21:01 Trick play. Book it. Tailgaters lead

1:21:03 that category now 3 to 1.

1:21:04 >> Really good get off speed by Armani

1:21:06 Henderson the designated runner. It's

1:21:08 why that wasn't a double play ball. He

1:21:10 was able to cruise in there on his feet

1:21:13 in safely because of how quickly he got

1:21:15 off after Sanchez released the ball. It

1:21:18 brings up Ashby Vining.

1:21:21 A guy who has cut 13 lb in the last 2

1:21:25 weeks.

1:21:26 Trying to look better for weigh-ins on

1:21:29 social media.

1:21:30 >> Yeah, he said he's on it. Big time,

1:21:31 Kirk. He said, "Please, Brett, do not

1:21:33 forget to mention that on the

1:21:34 broadcast." I said, "Okay, Ashby. I'm

1:21:36 sure I won't."

1:21:37 The 0-2.

1:21:38 >> That's even better cuz I know we had

1:21:40 that exact same conversation. He really

1:21:42 wants the world to know he's down 13 lb.

1:21:44 You look great, Ashby. As always.

1:21:47 >> You know, you always add some lbs as a

1:21:49 dad. And he's preparing to be a father,

1:21:53 but not to add those lbs. Steak steak

1:21:55 shaking a little bit here.

1:21:58 Chris Clark pardoning me if I was if I

1:22:01 was

1:22:02 >> [laughter]

1:22:02 >> if I missed that. I'm so sorry. 1 and 2

1:22:05 there. Chris Clark just tried to throw a

1:22:07 banana ball into our broadcast booth.

1:22:10 BALL CHECK. THANK YOU. Thank you. Thank

1:22:14 you.

1:22:15 The eighth STRIKE OUT OF THE BALL GAME

1:22:17 FOR STEAK STEAK.

1:22:21 >> NOW Chris Clark is writing something on

1:22:23 a banana.

1:22:24 >> Can we I know we're in replay here.

1:22:26 Chris Clark

1:22:27 throwing it up.

1:22:31 >> [cheering]

1:22:32 >> A young man just caught it the one-oh

1:22:33 here at Eric Asberg. Chris!

1:22:37 Chris!

1:22:38 Chris!

1:22:40 Guys, I don't think he's paying

1:22:41 attention. Trying to get him to throw

1:22:43 one up here.

1:22:44 We're in an open-air booth. It's Eric

1:22:46 Asberg high in the sky.

1:22:49 Should be out number three, Indiana

1:22:51 Stanley tip drill. Bucket! BUCKET!

1:22:55 INDY TO SONNY!

1:22:59 TAILGATERS LEAD THE TRICK PLAY TITLE

1:23:00 FIVE to one, but the coconuts score

1:23:02 their first run of the ballgame here in

1:23:04 the top of the fourth.

1:23:05 >> It's what the boys in blue and orange

1:23:06 have done best all season long. They

1:23:09 lead the BBCL

1:23:11 in trick plays, but now it's up to Drake

1:23:13 Fazzino to hold on

1:23:16 and secure a point to even things up

1:23:18 here.

1:23:19 >> [cheering]

1:23:24 [music]

1:23:42 [music]

1:23:55 >> Ah!

1:23:55 >> [groaning and screaming]

1:24:01 >> Keep driving on chance while we shuffle.

1:24:08 >> [music]

1:24:16 >> Let me hear you sing it!

1:24:21 >> [music]

1:24:29 >> One more time, Amarillo.

1:24:40 >> [music]

1:24:52 [cheering]

1:25:01 >> Bottom of the fourth inning here in

1:25:02 Amarillo, Texas.

1:25:06 Man, I'll tell you what, nothing

1:25:07 eventful happened here in Hey Baby

1:25:08 today.

1:25:10 First time I've ever been able to say

1:25:11 that.

1:25:13 Well, I don't know. We were just sitting

1:25:14 down. Uh Yeah.

1:25:17 Just sitting down the whole time.

1:25:18 Enjoying my virgin margarita.

1:25:21 I got water in a boot over here,

1:25:22 actually.

1:25:23 >> [cheering]

1:25:25 >> Taylor Justice

1:25:27 leading it off here for the boys in blue

1:25:28 and orange.

1:25:29 Man, I'm still just so out of breath.

1:25:32 I could just be sitting here.

1:25:33 That's what happens when you when you

1:25:35 take Yoshi and give him some screen

1:25:37 time. Taylor Justice

1:25:39 lead-off single.

1:25:41 Where does Yoshi originate from? That's

1:25:42 what I want to know. Oh man, well, Yoshi

1:25:45 is

1:25:46 just like everyone in this world, at

1:25:49 least from what I've been told, you're

1:25:50 either delivered by stork

1:25:52 >> [gasps]

1:25:53 >> or you're bought with tickets at Dave &

1:25:54 Buster's.

1:25:56 Uh and that is the latter for Yoshi, who

1:25:59 is hoping to help bring some Coconuts

1:26:01 magic here, but I'll tell you what, the

1:26:02 Tailgaters lineup's continuing to swing

1:26:04 it very well here against Fontenot.

1:26:06 Macadoo

1:26:08 ball four, spring his first plate

1:26:09 appearance.

1:26:11 Taylor Justice running, for one of the

1:26:12 very few times you will see him run.

1:26:17 Jacob Pippsert

1:26:19 has already been burned or excuse me,

1:26:21 being saved this time through the

1:26:22 lineup. And just as I say that, Piper

1:26:24 emerges out of the dugout.

1:26:26 But will not run it for

1:26:28 Macadoo with two balls and a strike.

1:26:30 Gosh, I'm still short of breath, guys.

1:26:33 That steak is coming back to bite me

1:26:35 from this morning.

1:26:39 BLISTERED UP THE MIDDLE. OH, BACK

1:26:40 [screaming] HANDS OUT BETWEEN THE LEGS.

1:26:43 OH.

1:26:45 That was almost trick play candidate of

1:26:47 the year. But Sal Giacobbe, what a web

1:26:49 gem for out number one.

1:26:50 >> I mean, Sal Giacobbe is simply different

1:26:53 at second base. Are you kidding me? That

1:26:57 thing was shattered in his direction.

1:26:59 Not only able to get to it and cut

1:27:01 things off, but to have the wherewithal

1:27:03 to get a trick play out of the equation.

1:27:05 Oh my goodness, Sal Giacobbe. That That

1:27:08 is what Banana Ball is all about right

1:27:09 there.

1:27:12 >> The Quadfather.

1:27:14 Love to see him

1:27:15 >> hit his second home run of 2026 right

1:27:17 here.

1:27:18 >> Ball and a strike, huh?

1:27:23 DP has inspired these boys in blue and

1:27:26 orange with that football helmet.

1:27:28 Made its debut in Chapel Hill. Inspired

1:27:30 them so much, sir, that our director of

1:27:32 entertainment with the Tailgaters,

1:27:33 Jordan Watson, has instituted a throw

1:27:36 route. With not a baseball, but a

1:27:37 football pregame. Guys are out here

1:27:40 running routes, post, slants, go,

1:27:42 whatever else you may want.

1:27:44 All because of that football helmet that

1:27:45 the Quadfather

1:27:47 decided to get for UNC. Check on

1:27:49 Macadoo, he's back in time at first.

1:27:52 >> My favorite route's the comeback.

1:27:57 >> Tailgaters lead this ballgame two to

1:27:59 nothing, AJ Swiatek. Here we go.

1:28:01 >> Outside, [music] ball four, sprint

1:28:03 opportunity now for Taj looking for his

1:28:05 second one tonight.

1:28:10 >> GOT IT. DRAKE POPPED IT UP. Talk about

1:28:12 coming back, fought back from a few

1:28:14 rough innings tonight and looking to get

1:28:16 out of this one with [music] a two to

1:28:18 one deficit.

1:28:18 >> Yeah, and really all things considered

1:28:20 in the big picture, that would be a win

1:28:22 for Drake Fontenot with the way he was

1:28:23 struggling to locate early. He's really

1:28:25 settled in nicely. It went from treading

1:28:28 in open water to now really comfortably

1:28:30 swimming.

1:28:31 >> Out to right center. Long way to run for

1:28:33 Gideon. He's got it. Coconuts win their

1:28:36 first born in the ball game as they

1:28:38 trail here in Amarillo two to one.

1:28:40 >> [cheering]

1:28:42 >> Great play by Gideon Antle. He's one of

1:28:44 the best defenders out in right that

1:28:47 you'll see in Banana Ball.

1:28:48 >> I know locals have to love that. He's

1:28:50 rocking the Amarillo Sod Poodles

1:28:52 birthday hat that just released. A lot

1:28:54 of guys in that Coconuts clubhouse were

1:28:57 just chopping at the bit to get a hold

1:28:58 of that thing. Amarillo has already been

1:29:00 such great hosts and it's not even by

1:29:02 morning yet.

1:29:04 >> [cheering]

1:29:05 >> Shoutout to King George Strait.

1:29:08 Also, shoutout to my main man, Rex

1:29:10 Castillo. Talk to us.

1:29:12 >> Guys, this might be our first time to

1:29:13 have Banana Ball in Amarillo, but it is

1:29:14 not the first time Zach Waddell has been

1:29:17 here. Man, Zach, what is it like to be

1:29:18 back HERE? YOU WERE HERE AS PART OF THIS

1:29:20 MINOR league team. What's it like to be

1:29:21 back?

1:29:22 >> Yeah, so I was back here in 2020 and

1:29:24 man, being back here in 2026 playing

1:29:27 Banana Ball, man, is special. Walking

1:29:29 out here in the outfield pre-game back

1:29:30 in the locker room, man, it just brings

1:29:31 back so many great memories with my

1:29:33 teammates.

1:29:33 >> Smitty has been smiling the entire time

1:29:35 he's here. What would you tell yourself

1:29:37 a few years ago that you'd be back in a

1:29:38 sold out stadium right here?

1:29:40 >> Yeah,

1:29:41 uh

1:29:42 if if you told me that about a year ago,

1:29:45 I would not believe you. But, uh super

1:29:47 grateful to be here.

1:29:48 >> And we're super grateful that Waddell is

1:29:50 in his local beach Coconuts uniform part

1:29:52 of Banana Ball. Great guy and he and

1:29:54 look at this environment. Can't wait to

1:29:55 see what else is going to happen in this

1:29:56 game. Waddell, thank you so much,

1:29:57 brother. Guys, back to you.

1:29:59 >> Zach Smith,

1:30:01 you talk about salt of the earth human

1:30:03 being.

1:30:04 I He's one of my favorite people in this

1:30:06 sport. As he mentioned, the Cape Cod

1:30:08 League moved to Texas in 2020.

1:30:11 And all the minor league teams around

1:30:12 that minor league baseball, obviously,

1:30:13 was not a thing in 2020. And the Sod

1:30:16 Poodles, the Frisco RoughRiders, Tulsa

1:30:17 Drillers, all these Texas and Oklahoma

1:30:20 minor league teams came together and

1:30:21 said, "Hey, you're not going to play in

1:30:22 the Northeast, we'll we'll play in Texas

1:30:24 in the Midwest." And so, excuse me, in

1:30:26 the Southwest, I should say. And Zach

1:30:27 Smith able to suit up for the Amarillo

1:30:29 Sod Poodles, not as a minor league

1:30:31 affiliate, but as a collegiate summer

1:30:33 team back in 2020. Very cool for him to

1:30:35 be back here in Amarillo. Also a CPL

1:30:38 banana. That, if I may wax poetically,

1:30:40 just ever so more about our good friend

1:30:42 Zach Smith. When he was in the draft,

1:30:44 trick pitch from Sanchez.

1:30:46 Nope. When he was in the Banana Ball

1:30:48 player draft, Rico Garcia, Josh

1:30:50 Talansky,

1:30:51 all of our good friends

1:30:52 who were around during the CPL banana

1:30:54 days,

1:30:55 said everyone would be so lucky to both

1:30:57 have that human of Zach Smith and that

1:30:58 pitcher in your locker room. And Loco

1:31:00 Beach has been blessed with him this

1:31:02 year in 2026. Another trick PITCH FROM

1:31:04 SANCHEZ. GOT HIM!

1:31:06 THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

1:31:10 YOU CAN'T STOP HIM. YOU CAN'T even hope

1:31:13 to contain him here today. Brett

1:31:14 Sanchez, one of the best outings in his

1:31:17 young Banana Ball career.

1:31:19 >> Nine punch outs for Brett Sanchez. That

1:31:22 one's a trick pitch, continuous motion

1:31:24 behind the back, lose the glove, and

1:31:26 thank him. Sanchez [music]

1:31:28 looking really good. Now one shy of the

1:31:30 double digits in the K column.

1:31:32 >> Here's what I want to know.

1:31:34 As well as ask the chat, do we have more

1:31:36 thank yous

1:31:38 or more buckets tonight?

1:31:43 Sanchez got a ball and a strike here.

1:31:45 He's getting Antael. Played a triple off

1:31:47 of him in his first AB.

1:31:54 Hit up the elevator shaft to get on the

1:31:55 infield.

1:31:59 Jordan Hussein on the mound. Not a trick

1:32:01 play, but one of the most impressive

1:32:03 plays you'll ever seen. Fiber stumbling,

1:32:05 bumbling, humbling as he catches it for

1:32:07 out number two.

1:32:12 >> [cheering]

1:32:12 >> Brings up a bat who's quietly really

1:32:14 been eating towards the bottom of this

1:32:16 Loco Beach lineup. Sal Giacobbo,

1:32:17 rightfully known for what he does with

1:32:19 the glove at second base, but he's

1:32:20 hitting above 300. He's hit to contact

1:32:22 really well. One showman of the game in

1:32:25 his big [music] time performance,

1:32:26 revenge performance against the Party

1:32:27 Animals out in Conway. And I would like

1:32:29 to get a get a two-out rally going in

1:32:31 what's likely Sanchez's last inning of

1:32:33 work.

1:32:34 >> 68 pitches. I think he could see another

1:32:37 inning though.

1:32:38 If he can get

1:32:40 Sal Giacobbo here in an efficient

1:32:42 manner.

1:32:43 2 and 0.

1:32:51 Tell you what, the shadows are just so

1:32:53 tough here tonight.

1:32:54 My good friend My July Jason Art really

1:32:56 shielding himself out there in right

1:32:58 field.

1:33:00 It's a beautiful ballpark.

1:33:02 It's almost like I can hear Jason Art in

1:33:04 my head. Sometimes I listen to My July

1:33:06 so much it's like I can just hear him.

1:33:09 I can actually hear My July right now.

1:33:10 It's the craziest thing ever. You know

1:33:11 what else I can hear? Thank you. Thank

1:33:14 you. Thank you. Brad Sanchez, YOU ARE

1:33:17 HERE CONCEIVABLE. HOW BLESSED ARE WE TO

1:33:20 BE ON THE SAME TIME, IN THE SAME PLACE,

1:33:22 ON THE SAME PLANET AS STANK DICK. DICK

1:33:26 POPE CHASE FROM THE MAN, THE PRIDE of

1:33:28 Bellhaven University.

1:33:38 Gosh, I love Brad Sanchez.

1:33:42 A secret between me, you, and God and

1:33:44 the entire world. I love that man.

1:33:46 There's some people dancing on the

1:33:48 field. Let's see what the two-steppers

1:33:49 in the players have.

1:34:22 >> Give it UP FOR THE TEXAS TWO-STEPPERS

1:34:24 and

1:34:25 your Texas Tailgaters.

1:34:29 >> And from the players of the blue and

1:34:30 orange dancing

1:34:32 to a former Savannah Banana turned

1:34:33 Coconut, Andy Archer, the new pitcher on

1:34:35 the bump for Loco Beets.

1:34:36 >> Well, he's just going to look to do his

1:34:37 best Brett Sanchez impersonation. A 10

1:34:40 strikeout's not a typo, by the way. The

1:34:42 Tailgaters starter was rolling. It's

1:34:44 helped them to a 2-1 lead and it brings

1:34:45 out the big arch. He missed the series

1:34:48 in Charleston for good reason. It was

1:34:50 his sister's wedding, but it's a big

1:34:52 return for Andy Archer, a guy who simply

1:34:55 eats innings. 12 and a third of them to

1:34:56 be exact this year. Boats a 1-0 record.

1:34:59 He's allowed 14 hits. He's a guy who

1:35:01 pitches to weak contact and tries to

1:35:03 give his guys trick play opportunities.

1:35:05 He's always a favorite in the locker

1:35:07 room and for good reason. I mean, that

1:35:08 defense behind him loves when he's on

1:35:10 the hill.

1:35:12 >> My July.

1:35:16 Owen two.

1:35:20 Ooh, buzzing the tower.

1:35:26 Be safe, Jason Archer.

1:35:37 Jason in on my hands. I'll touch the

1:35:39 coal ball. Between legs dribble behind

1:35:41 the back throws it. Oh my gosh. THAT IS

1:35:43 DISGUSTING. THAT IS DIRTY. THAT IS

1:35:45 ILLEGAL in 48 states for out number one.

1:35:47 >> Wow, Zal Jacobo.

1:35:51 A third trick play for him and the

1:35:54 Coconuts. This one the best of them all.

1:35:57 Between the legs again, goes airborne

1:36:00 and then throws it to the center of the

1:36:02 dartboard for out number one. That is

1:36:05 just the face of consistency at second

1:36:08 base. When it's hit his way, a trick

1:36:09 play feels like a foregone conclusion.

1:36:12 >> A chopper to Mick.

1:36:14 Oh.

1:36:17 >> [cheering]

1:36:17 >> Call that an E skip.

1:36:19 >> [laughter]

1:36:20 >> He just threw the banana ball into the

1:36:21 stand.

1:36:23 I got a funny story for Joe Mick in a

1:36:24 moment. But after this O2 from Andy

1:36:26 Archer.

1:36:28 Oh.

1:36:29 JORDAN BLISTERED IN THE LAP. TWO HOPS

1:36:32 OFF THE FENCE. Great play by TA to get

1:36:34 to it.

1:36:35 Back in in a hustle double from Captain

1:36:39 Jordan Hussein. He now represents the

1:36:41 inning winning run on second base.

1:36:45 >> It's a big swing from Fiber. We've been

1:36:46 [music] waiting to see that from the

1:36:48 Tailgaters shortstop. Got one that hung

1:36:50 up in the zone for a moment too long and

1:36:52 took full advantage. Inning walk-off run

1:36:54 now 180 ft from scoring on that hustle

1:36:57 effort.

1:36:58 For the man in the neon orange cleats.

1:37:05 >> LOPEY STUNG TO CENTER. OH, WHAT A PLAY.

1:37:08 NO BY BEN PARKER.

1:37:11 It came out. Jordan Hussein reverted

1:37:14 back to second because just like the

1:37:16 rest of the ballpark, we thought he made

1:37:18 a web gem. However, just another two out

1:37:20 base hit for the Tailgaters.

1:37:22 >> It's a great effort from Ben Popeye

1:37:24 Parker out in center. So much so that it

1:37:26 holds the lead runner at first. So

1:37:28 close, but just couldn't clamp it. The

1:37:31 good hustle makes it runners on first

1:37:33 and second with one down.

1:37:35 >> As you mentioned there AJ, just one out,

1:37:37 not two.

1:37:38 Zack Watson, if he does what he's

1:37:41 capable of doing in his first two at

1:37:43 bats tonight, the Tailgaters have a

1:37:44 three points to one lead. Two for two

1:37:46 with a couple of singles.

1:37:53 Watty

1:37:54 has not had an RBI yet, but does have

1:37:56 two base hits.

1:37:59 Appeal down to first. Kelly Don says he

1:38:00 did not go.

1:38:04 Watty, just like a lot of guys, starting

1:38:05 to heat up here in game 12 of the

1:38:07 regular season.

1:38:09 No, that didn't feel too good.

1:38:11 So, have a payoff pitch incoming.

1:38:14 And just like a lot of these tailgaters,

1:38:16 going sleeves up.

1:38:18 What is Denae doing?

1:38:19 >> I just can't Every time she's on screen,

1:38:20 she is such a vibe. I Sometimes I get

1:38:23 distracted from the game just watching

1:38:25 her dance.

1:38:26 Ooh.

1:38:28 Uh.

1:38:29 >> Obviously, Andy did not mean to do that

1:38:31 on 3-2. Never see like somebody to get

1:38:33 buzzed up on the tower.

1:38:37 As Watty will

1:38:39 now jog down to first. And the guy, who

1:38:41 back in Frisco, game one against these

1:38:43 Coconuts,

1:38:45 was injured.

1:38:46 Missed about a month of play.

1:38:48 Right there. Ooh, just caught him right

1:38:49 on the back of the noggin.

1:38:51 Thank the good lord above for helmets.

1:38:53 >> And for all that extra hair. I mean, it

1:38:55 can't hurt.

1:38:55 >> Yeah, 100%.

1:38:56 >> But man, I'm really glad to see him

1:38:58 frolic down the line and stay in this

1:38:59 game. That's always scary.

1:39:03 >> So, after a lead off trick play from Sal

1:39:05 Giacalone,

1:39:06 it's been double, single, hit by pitch.

1:39:08 Bases loaded. One out. This one SKIPS TO

1:39:10 THE BACKSTOP. JORDAN HUSSEY WILL COME

1:39:13 HOME AND THE TEXAS TAILGATERS walk off

1:39:16 the fifth inning. Theo wild pitch.

1:39:19 How about that?

1:39:21 >> [cheering]

1:39:22 >> THREE TO ONE LEAD

1:39:24 for the boys of Texas in Texas after

1:39:27 five.

1:39:28 >> Very unorthodox from Andy Archer. Prides

1:39:30 himself on filling up the zone. You

1:39:32 rarely see one get away from the banana

1:39:34 ball bat like that. It really couldn't

1:39:36 have come in a bigger moment. Bases

1:39:38 loaded. Just spiked it off the plate.

1:39:40 Lining couldn't keep it in front of him.

1:39:41 It's a wild pitch that scores Jordan

1:39:44 Hussein

1:39:45 and doubles up the Tailgaters lead.

1:39:47 >> Jimbo, talk to me.

1:39:49 >> Good.

1:39:55 I'm

1:39:57 feeling good.

1:40:01 >> Smile, Jimbo.

1:40:04 Oh, he's serious.

1:40:06 He's majestic. He's swimming.

1:40:08 He's found the waves of local beach. Now

1:40:10 he's trying to relax here in Amarillo.

1:40:12 Oh, he's a ballerina. What is he doing?

1:40:15 Oh my gosh.

1:40:16 Jimmy, so poetic, so masterful,

1:40:20 so

1:40:21 poetic.

1:40:24 He raises up.

1:40:26 The plot is [music] thickening.

1:40:30 Jimmy Lewis the third,

1:40:31 how will you conclude this?

1:40:34 BY SERVING THE MOST FACE OF ALL TIME.

1:40:36 >> NOW PITCHING

1:40:38 >> HOW YOU WIN AT THE BALLGAME.

1:40:42 THE PRIDE OF LAKE TRAVIS, TEXAS.

1:40:47 >> [screaming]

1:40:47 >> WOW.

1:40:48 If that doesn't fire you up,

1:40:50 your fire starter ain't starting

1:40:52 correctly.

1:40:53 >> I see a spark going in your eye right

1:40:55 now I haven't seen before. You love

1:40:56 that, huh?

1:40:58 >> Must I admit something to you? A secret

1:41:01 between me, you, and God.

1:41:04 I pitched that for Jimmy Lewis. You know

1:41:06 what else I've been pitching for quite

1:41:07 some time?

1:41:09 I want to talk to my July on the

1:41:11 broadcast.

1:41:12 And finally, in the good Lord's year of

1:41:15 2026,

1:41:17 Jason, how are we doing tonight, my

1:41:18 friend?

1:41:18 >> what, Brett? I'll tell you what, it's

1:41:20 been a long time coming, but it is

1:41:21 freaking awesome to hear your voice in

1:41:22 the middle of a game, I'll tell you

1:41:23 what.

1:41:24 >> Well, the word on the street is you've

1:41:25 been listening to me for the last inning

1:41:26 and a half.

1:41:27 >> Hey, you know what? I like hearing your

1:41:28 voice. I told them I wanted to hear you

1:41:30 while I was hitting, too.

1:41:32 >> Did you?

1:41:32 >> It didn't work too well.

1:41:34 >> You know,

1:41:35 I thought that you could hear me, which

1:41:37 is why when you were at bat, if you go

1:41:39 back and watch your at bat, I was a

1:41:41 little bit more intermittent with my

1:41:42 thoughts there.

1:41:43 >> Yeah.

1:41:43 >> Former teammate, Brett Carson.

1:41:45 >> Former teammate, Brett B Everywhere

1:41:47 Carson.

1:41:49 Has a tendency to be late, but you know

1:41:51 what? We're playing left field now, so.

1:41:53 >> Jason, we were talking about it during

1:41:54 your first at bat. Everything that you

1:41:56 have to do on the day of the Texas

1:41:58 Tailgaters Headliner game. I'm sure the

1:42:00 people would love to know, especially

1:42:02 when you get the nod in the starting

1:42:03 lineup. Give us your itinerary of your

1:42:04 day in Texas.

1:42:05 >> Well, first let me tell you this.

1:42:09 >> BC, lead-off single to center. All

1:42:10 right, Jason, as you were saying.

1:42:12 >> you this. So,

1:42:13 I love everything I get to do here

1:42:15 because being a part of everything is

1:42:17 just the most fun. So, like

1:42:19 pretty much my day starts pretty early

1:42:21 and we got to show up for all of our

1:42:22 sound checks and stuff with my band.

1:42:25 Get the band all prepped, everything

1:42:26 ready to go.

1:42:28 Oh.

1:42:29 >> Oh, Terrell!

1:42:30 Big center field!

1:42:31 >> He did it.

1:42:32 >> TANNER ALLEN! ONE OF YOUR BUDDIES! OH,

1:42:35 YEAH, YEAH.

1:42:36 >> YEAH, I'm sure I'll hear about that

1:42:37 while we're having steak dinner this

1:42:38 week.

1:42:39 >> OH, [cheering] MAN! OFF THE BATTER'S

1:42:42 EYE! TANNER ALLEN! A no-doubter!

1:42:46 >> I hear you, TA.

1:42:48 I'm out.

1:42:50 >> Hit the Heisman!

1:42:52 >> In case you guys are wondering, he

1:42:54 played college baseball, not college

1:42:56 football.

1:42:56 >> Thank you.

1:42:57 >> Yeah, I can tell by that swing. Tops

1:42:59 off, ball's gone.

1:43:01 >> But, no, yeah, we we get sound checks

1:43:04 and

1:43:05 oh, did he just go for a swim in there?

1:43:07 >> [laughter]

1:43:07 >> That's what you call getting wet.

1:43:08 >> I'm pretty sure he

1:43:10 he went before he was supposed to, also.

1:43:12 I think he missed that

1:43:14 that audio, but

1:43:17 >> [laughter]

1:43:18 >> They call him Terrell. Do you call him

1:43:20 Terrell, Jason?

1:43:21 >> Anytime I call him, I'll give you his

1:43:24 his rundown how he answers the phone. He

1:43:25 goes, "This Terrell."

1:43:27 >> This Terrell, TIAS?

1:43:28 >> This is Terrell.

1:43:30 >> Hello. You know, know who's just

1:43:33 prolific college baseball player won a

1:43:34 national championship Mississippi State?

1:43:36 How do you and him become friends even

1:43:37 in different clubhouses?

1:43:38 >> I'll tell you what, country music brings

1:43:39 a lot of guys together when we grow up

1:43:41 the same way and makes it pretty simple.

1:43:43 He came to

1:43:45 my show at Saddle Bags the very first

1:43:46 week that all the teams were here. The

1:43:48 very next day comes up to me at practice

1:43:51 he's like, "Hey man, I like the way you

1:43:52 play that Jason Aldean."

1:43:54 >> [cheering]

1:43:54 >> And it was just I mean he might have

1:43:56 might as well just ask me to have a

1:43:57 steak dinner that night. I don't even

1:43:58 remember how it went but

1:44:00 he might have been at the house about an

1:44:01 hour later just waiting on me.

1:44:02 >> Been partners since birth. He and Kade

1:44:04 both are very close. One of your really

1:44:06 good friends now over in that clubhouse.

1:44:08 >> That's right.

1:44:09 >> Kade now

1:44:10 >> He's coming out. I think he has the ears

1:44:12 on, doesn't he?

1:44:13 >> [laughter]

1:44:14 >> Who's this guy? What's he doing over

1:44:16 here? Come here.

1:44:17 >> I said Kade both are very close. Oh

1:44:19 gosh, he's about to come into your

1:44:20 television set.

1:44:20 >> to chuck him if he hits the ball to me.

1:44:22 >> Do it.

1:44:23 >> KB Brett

1:44:25 Brett Yeah, Brett's talking about you

1:44:26 right now.

1:44:27 >> He's miked up.

1:44:28 >> Brett calls you out and you just run

1:44:29 over here.

1:44:30 >> I'm having a good time out here.

1:44:31 >> Hey.

1:44:32 KB, he's talking about Terrell's home

1:44:34 run.

1:44:34 >> Huh?

1:44:35 >> He was talking about Terrell's home run.

1:44:37 >> Why?

1:44:37 >> Don't follow me now.

1:44:42 What you got to say?

1:44:43 >> Brett, I'm just so happy to be here. I

1:44:45 love you. I love banana ball. I love the

1:44:47 coconuts. I love Jason Aldean.

1:44:49 >> Hey, shoo shoo.

1:44:54 >> Hey Jason, that was great.

1:44:55 >> Hey.

1:44:55 >> Way to convey that message, you know.

1:44:57 >> Brett Brett Loftis said you like your

1:44:58 steak well done.

1:44:59 >> Oh god, Jason Aldean.

1:45:03 That's all That's crazy out of Kade

1:45:04 Aldean.

1:45:05 He hit the home run two batters ago. Why

1:45:07 else would I be talking about

1:45:07 >> he goes, "What do you mean why? Why are

1:45:09 you Why would you talk about it?" I'm

1:45:10 like, "Gee, maybe the one that just went

1:45:12 475 or something like that."

1:45:14 Gee, I don't know. Kade, can you try

1:45:16 that on the surfboard and then we'll

1:45:17 talk about it.

1:45:18 >> Oh man.

1:45:19 >> No, I'll tell you what, I love those

1:45:21 boys. They They keep me in check. We

1:45:22 keep each other in check. It's pretty

1:45:24 awesome.

1:45:25 There'll be times though I'll tell you

1:45:26 what, Tanner Tanner's a character.

1:45:28 There'll be times I'll come home from

1:45:29 practice and he'll just be sitting on

1:45:30 the couch playing our guitars and I'm

1:45:32 like

1:45:32 >> What do the youth have to learn show?

1:45:34 >> Oh.

1:45:35 >> Oh, this one's going a long ways.

1:45:36 >> Get back there, Watty.

1:45:37 >> Watty tracking it down.

1:45:38 >> Come on now.

1:45:39 >> Has it just in front of the track for

1:45:40 out number one.

1:45:41 >> Hey Watty.

1:45:44 But yeah, um

1:45:45 I kind of forgot what we was talking

1:45:47 about my music stuff earlier, but my

1:45:49 day.

1:45:49 >> Yeah.

1:45:50 >> Long days. We got we got a

1:45:52 a little concert with the band before

1:45:54 the before the fans come in before they

1:45:56 open the gates and then we do our

1:45:58 pre-game stuff on the field and then

1:46:00 when I get the nod to start, we play the

1:46:02 game.

1:46:03 I get to talk to a

1:46:05 beautiful and sexy man by the name of

1:46:06 Brett Loftis

1:46:07 in the sixth inning.

1:46:08 >> Well, I think I know that guy.

1:46:10 >> Yeah, he's cool guy. And then I heard he

1:46:12 ate a lot of steak this morning.

1:46:13 >> Yeah, like there are

1:46:15 AJ ate more steak than I did.

1:46:17 >> Oh, well.

1:46:18 Hey, you know what? It's not about how.

1:46:20 >> How about look, no, let's talk about

1:46:22 this. You were supposed to come and you

1:46:24 said I can't eat steak at 9:00 a.m.

1:46:26 >> No, you know why? Sound checks, bro.

1:46:28 >> I don't want to hear that.

1:46:28 >> I got a full day. I get the I get

1:46:31 >> I do too.

1:46:31 >> I get to play in the game. I got to take

1:46:33 it serious, Brett. Come on now.

1:46:34 >> And we don't?

1:46:35 >> That's a good point.

1:46:37 >> Jason, I've got a question for you. You

1:46:38 know, looking back to when you were

1:46:40 younger, was there ever a point in your

1:46:41 mind you thought you'd be able to share

1:46:43 both your passion for music and baseball

1:46:45 at the same time?

1:46:46 >> I actually got told when I was in junior

1:46:47 college that I would never be able to

1:46:49 sing and play baseball

1:46:51 at a higher level in my life.

1:46:53 >> HOW ABOUT THAT?

1:46:54 TEXAS SIZE Tanner from DP for out number

1:46:56 two.

1:46:56 >> Tanner's got a cannon.

1:46:57 >> told you could never do that.

1:46:58 >> I was told that would never happen by my

1:47:00 junior college coach. Um

1:47:02 and when I got recruited to go to UNC

1:47:04 Wilmington,

1:47:05 he actually loved it. He thought it was

1:47:06 great. He came to a couple shows while I

1:47:08 was in Wilmington just playing around

1:47:10 and stuff and

1:47:11 just kind of kept evolving from there, I

1:47:13 guess.

1:47:14 >> So, he's spun the block as a ball force

1:47:16 right here.

1:47:16 >> me. I'm cooking. Oh, I'm cooking.

1:47:18 >> Talk to him, Jay.

1:47:19 >> He's coming. I'm going to be late.

1:47:23 Tell toward Brewer I said hello.

1:47:27 Can you Oh.

1:47:29 I think I don't

1:47:30 Maybe he didn't want to talk to you.

1:47:31 >> Brett, I'm back.

1:47:33 >> You know, I knew we lost you because I

1:47:34 told you to tell Brewer I said hello,

1:47:36 and I knew I lost you on the track

1:47:37 there.

1:47:38 >> Hey, they fell out, but guess what?

1:47:40 >> At least you know how sound packed was.

1:47:42 >> I I'm not going to point at anyone else

1:47:44 on this team,

1:47:44 >> No.

1:47:45 >> but we've had more guys that happen this

1:47:47 year. So, to pull the curtain back to

1:47:48 the folks at home, your IFB, which is

1:47:50 the ear piece that Jason is currently

1:47:52 wearing inside of his beautiful ears,

1:47:54 that can become dislodged to a pack that

1:47:56 he has on his belt.

1:47:56 >> Yeah, if you're looking at my belt right

1:47:58 here,

1:47:58 >> Yep, show it all to them, Jay.

1:47:59 >> this pack right here, is how I hear and

1:48:01 talk to them.

1:48:02 >> So, when that happens with other guys,

1:48:04 they just go, "Ah, I can't hear you."

1:48:06 Jason says, "Let me plug it back in."

1:48:08 >> Yeah, all you got to do is plug it back

1:48:09 in, it works like a champ.

1:48:10 >> Almost like he's been around a

1:48:11 microphone, I don't know.

1:48:12 >> A time or two.

1:48:13 >> Uh, but pretty much all day.

1:48:16 >> Jason, would you say that uh superpowers

1:48:18 come out of you when it's the month of

1:48:20 July?

1:48:21 >> Um,

1:48:22 some could say.

1:48:23 You know.

1:48:24 >> say that.

1:48:25 >> Sing it for me, Jason.

1:48:37 >> It's hard to sing and run, Brett. I'm

1:48:38 going to tell you.

1:48:39 >> Hey, can I tell you something?

1:48:41 I love you.

1:48:42 >> I love you, too, Brett. I love you,

1:48:43 later.

1:48:44 >> That's my guy.

1:48:44 >> Come party with me after the game.

1:48:46 >> Oh, yeah.

1:48:46 >> We got we got a concert out front. Come

1:48:48 party with me.

1:48:49 >> I love Jason.

1:48:50 >> [cheering]

1:48:50 >> Man, I love Jason.

1:48:51 >> We love you back.

1:48:52 >> love sunshine, and I also love

1:48:55 whatever this is we're about to see.

1:48:58 >> That's right, everyone.

1:49:00 It is now time FOR CADILLAC RANCH.

1:49:04 These four cows are going to get nice

1:49:06 and dizzy, and then race all the way to

1:49:07 the finish line at home plate.

1:49:09 THE LOSING COW IS GOING TO GET A PIE TIN

1:49:12 FULL OF RANCH RIGHT IN THE FACE.

1:49:16 These cows are ready to go. Start

1:49:17 spinning.

1:49:21 We need to get these cows nice and

1:49:22 dizzy. You got to spin faster than that.

1:49:25 You got to get moving.

1:49:26 All right, you can start spinning.

1:49:29 I think they'll be dizzy enough then.

1:49:32 3 2 1 run!

1:49:37 And

1:49:38 oh no!

1:49:39 Immediately some ground beef.

1:49:42 These cows are moving.

1:49:46 She's running away with it.

1:49:48 >> [music]

1:49:49 >> The greatest cattle drive Texas has ever

1:49:51 seen.

1:49:53 It's not even a close race, ladies and

1:49:55 gentlemen.

1:49:56 She's gone.

1:49:58 >> [cheering]

1:50:00 >> And there she is, the winner of Cadillac

1:50:03 Ranch.

1:50:05 Who's going to be the loser?

1:50:07 Oh no!

1:50:09 There she is.

1:50:12 Take those glasses off and we're going

1:50:14 to get the rich pie in 3 2 1.

1:50:21 ONE MORE TIME FOR CADILLAC RANCH.

1:50:28 >> How about Tanner Allen?

1:50:31 I mean, it's such a blessing that he's

1:50:33 gracing us here in Banana Ball. Just hit

1:50:35 his third home run of his rookie

1:50:37 campaign in an absolute no-doubter.

1:50:42 >> And a no-doubter indeed. He earned the

1:50:44 belly flop but decided to do it with the

1:50:46 paint on his back facing the water.

1:50:48 That's what adrenaline will do to you.

1:50:50 That ball was absolutely drilled into

1:50:53 the batter's eye and it's a good thing

1:50:54 that's there because if it wasn't, I

1:50:56 mean, that's a safety hazard. That ball

1:50:58 was rocked and TA's now done it three

1:51:01 times this year. Each of them

1:51:02 no-doubters. Two have come against the

1:51:04 Texas Tailgaters right here in the Lone

1:51:06 Star State.

1:51:08 >> Kyle Martin, backhanded. Brew, what you

1:51:10 got? Between legs toss. Bucket.

1:51:13 7 to 4 the

1:51:14 >> Coconut's trying to close in on that

1:51:16 trick play deficit. Out number one here

1:51:17 in the sixth.

1:51:18 >> It's odd for Jordan Brewer to play so

1:51:20 deep in the infield there. Gave him a

1:51:22 chance to take a beat, let Andy Archer

1:51:24 come cover the bag, and it pays off

1:51:26 dividends with the trick play from the

1:51:28 first baseman. It looks like Aquaman.

1:51:30 >> The first Coconut's trick play

1:51:33 tonight that has not come from Sal De

1:51:34 Cicco. He had the first three, and

1:51:37 Aquaman gets number four.

1:51:39 Right side of this Coconut's infield,

1:51:41 arguably the best right side of any

1:51:42 infield in Bananaland. Middle infield

1:51:44 for the Tailgaters, arguably that as

1:51:45 well.

1:51:46 As a man who represents the left side of

1:51:49 the Tailgaters infield, the Bananaland

1:51:50 Open MVP, Jordan Barth, with a one out

1:51:52 single.

1:51:53 >> He's just seeing watermelons at the

1:51:54 plate right now. Everything looks so

1:51:56 slow and so routine for Jordan Barth.

1:51:59 He's so calm, cool, collected at the

1:52:01 plate. That's when you know a guy's

1:52:02 seeing the Bananaland ball well. And

1:52:03 just like that, the inning tying run

1:52:05 comes to the plate, Taylor Justice,

1:52:06 who's two for one in this game.

1:52:08 >> Two for one? I didn't know that was

1:52:09 possible in the

1:52:11 in the game of Bananaland ball or

1:52:12 baseball. Bat breaks. De Cicco

1:52:14 tosses IT BETWEEN THE LEGS. SHOTTY!

1:52:16 BEHIND THE BACK! BUCKET!

1:52:18 BUCKET!

1:52:19 >> [screaming]

1:52:19 >> 4-6-3 like you ain't NEVER SEEN IT

1:52:21 BEFORE IN A MINUTE AND 12 SECONDS!

1:52:25 THAT'S BANANALAND BALL, AJ SWITEK!

1:52:27 >> NO, THAT IS LOCO BEACH BALL, BRETT

1:52:29 LOFTIS! MY GOODNESS! SAL DE CICCO,

1:52:33 PEYTON SHOTTON, YEAH, AND WHO ELSE BUT

1:52:35 JORDAN BREWER, THE CHERRY on top of the

1:52:38 best cupcake you've ever eaten. It's a

1:52:40 minute and 12 from Andy Archer, AND A

1:52:43 SECOND POINT FOR THE BEACH. IT'S BACK

1:52:46 WITHIN ONE. MY GOODNESS, THAT'S defense

1:52:50 at its finest.

1:52:51 >> Including the swimming. And right now,

1:52:54 it is time for a side versus side race

1:52:58 that you will not forget. Players,

1:53:01 please bring out THE MERMAIDS.

1:53:07 REPRESENTING the first base side, we

1:53:09 have mermaid Zach.

1:53:12 Representing the third base side, we

1:53:15 have mermaid Alex.

1:53:17 These two beautiful mermaids are going

1:53:20 to be racing their way to this pool

1:53:22 right behind home plate. The first

1:53:24 mermaid to flip, FLOP, AND SPLASH THEIR

1:53:28 WAY IN WINS. MERMAIDS, on your marks,

1:53:33 get set, FLOP!

1:53:36 IT IS ANYONE'S GAME AT THIS POINT.

1:53:39 FIRST BASE SIDE IS FLOPPING HIS WAY.

1:53:43 ZACH IS PULLING AHEAD. DOES MERMAID ALEX

1:53:46 HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

1:53:49 GET TO THE WATER. YOU NEED THE WATER.

1:53:54 YOU'RE SO CLOSE. WIGGLE THAT TAIL.

1:53:57 WIGGLE YOUR TAIL. FLOP! THE WATER'S

1:54:00 RIGHT THERE. WHO IS IT GOING TO BE?

1:54:04 GIVE IT UP FOR THE FIRST BASE MERMAID.

1:54:10 ONE MORE TIME FOR YOUR MERMAIDS,

1:54:11 EVERYBODY.

1:54:16 >> [music]

1:54:27 >> With a 3-2 lead still intact in the top

1:54:29 of the seventh inning.

1:54:31 And a trick play lead of 7 to 6. Again,

1:54:35 7 to 6, the Tailgaters lead the trick

1:54:37 play battle. They will turn to the left

1:54:39 field of pride at Jacksonville, Florida.

1:54:42 Zach Blankenship, who in the regular

1:54:44 season has only thrown a third of an

1:54:46 inning, but did record a scoreless frame

1:54:48 last weekend in the open. And what's he

1:54:50 doing? It's stand-off pitch time.

1:54:56 Couple of big men standing off here. Bam

1:54:59 Bam versus Eric Asberg.

1:55:05 As they'll head back to their respective

1:55:07 mound and plate.

1:55:09 And it's the roping cowboy, J.J. Catch.

1:55:13 The whip not on fire tonight. E.O.

1:55:15 swinging out of his shoes, 0 and 1.

1:55:18 >> He wanted every bit of that one. You

1:55:20 could see it in his eyes.

1:55:24 >> And the 0 and 1 becomes 0 and 2.

1:55:36 Knuckleball.

1:55:38 1 and 2 count. We had some good time

1:55:40 with good times with Eric.

1:55:42 >> Last night.

1:55:43 >> Yeah, we sure did. Well, this week we've

1:55:44 done it a bunch.

1:55:45 >> That's what I'm saying. It was the third

1:55:46 time this week that somehow me, Eric,

1:55:48 and Brett have found ourselves in one

1:55:50 another's lives. And I guess at that

1:55:52 point you call it friendship.

1:55:53 >> They had lunch earlier this week. Last

1:55:56 night, we hung out watched the draft.

1:55:58 >> E.O. puts a charge into it.

1:56:00 >> To deep left field.

1:56:01 >> THAT'S GONE!

1:56:03 Great day swing! ERIC ASBERG TOUCHED

1:56:06 THEM ALL AND FLEXED THE GUNS!

1:56:09 THE 10-YEAR PROFESSIONAL WITH A

1:56:12 RAINMAKER TO LEFT CENTER. IT'S HIS

1:56:14 SECOND OF THE SEASON.

1:56:17 PROFESSIONAL POP FROM ERIC ASBERG.

1:56:26 THAT'S A BAD MAN!

1:56:29 REX, TALK TO HIM.

1:56:33 >> HOW GOOD DOES IT FEEL TO GET a big swing

1:56:34 like that, Eric?

1:56:35 >> A couple homer, you don't hate those. I

1:56:37 FEEL BAD for these pitchers. I'M THE

1:56:38 HARDEST OUT IN THIS LEAGUE.

1:56:41 >> He said it better than I could. Guys,

1:56:43 back to you.

1:56:44 >> The hardest out in the league. Eric

1:56:47 Asberg feeling himself after that swing.

1:56:49 Rightfully so.

1:56:52 >> [cheering]

1:56:54 >> Great day interview, as well.

1:56:56 Love that from Eric Asberg, man. Second

1:56:59 home run of the year.

1:57:00 Second home run of the night for the

1:57:01 Bananas.

1:57:03 Tyrell [cheering] Tanner Allen with the

1:57:05 first one, and then Eric Asberg. So, the

1:57:08 team [cheering] that came in tied for

1:57:09 the least amount of dingers in Banana

1:57:10 Ball sit two here tonight. The team with

1:57:12 the most in the Texas Tailgaters has yet

1:57:14 to leave the yard.

1:57:15 Payton Showtime Yeager will be able to

1:57:17 leave the box after this ball force

1:57:18 play.

1:57:21 Seen a hold up at first base.

1:57:22 >> No, this is funny. No one's covering the

1:57:23 base.

1:57:24 >> Shoddy.

1:57:25 >> He has to run.

1:57:26 >> Put that in the Banana Ball blooper reel

1:57:27 right there.

1:57:27 >> wobble his way back into first. We're

1:57:29 not playing wipeout, Shoddy, but I'll

1:57:30 tell you what, there's a reason these

1:57:32 Bananas have been coined the comeback

1:57:33 Bananas. This season, Brett, stick with

1:57:35 me. Innings 1 through 3, the team's

1:57:37 hitting 286. Innings 4 through 6,

1:57:40 they're hitting 301. 7 through 9, 336.

1:57:43 That's the best in Banana Ball. They are

1:57:44 the best in the league when it matters

1:57:47 the most at the plate.

1:57:49 >> Zack Blankenship able to get back in his

1:57:51 zone. One to one to Gideon Antal.

1:57:58 Ooh, watch out over there.

1:58:01 TK

1:58:03 The bullpen catcher for the Bananas

1:58:04 almost got whacked in the back.

1:58:07 He's warming up CJ Williams.

1:58:09 Potentially may see him in the seventh

1:58:11 or eighth inning.

1:58:12 Out to left, Gideon.

1:58:15 A little bit too early on that one as it

1:58:16 sails out of play foul.

1:58:18 North Greenville's fight.

1:58:20 Also played at Ohio University during

1:58:22 his college days. Double-digit home run

1:58:25 in his final two years of college ball

1:58:26 as a Bobcat and as a Trailblazer.

1:58:30 Out to right, Jose Brother Gonzalez is

1:58:32 now out there. Tip drill.

1:58:35 Bucket. Bucket.

1:58:37 Double trick play in a big one to put

1:58:39 the Tailgaters back not at 5 to 3, but 9

1:58:43 to 6 in the trick play battle.

1:58:46 >> Yeah, and now that's two double trick

1:58:47 plays that have finished with Jonathan

1:58:49 Sunshine Lueders landing it in his cap.

1:58:51 It's got me feeling totally Oktoberfest

1:58:53 up here in the booth. That guy's just

1:58:54 got great vibes 24/7. Our conversations

1:58:57 typically just end with us smiling AT

1:59:00 ONE ANOTHER. OH! OH [screaming] MY! WHAT

1:59:02 A CATCH IN RIGHT FIELD! ARE YOU KIDDING?

1:59:05 BROTHER!

1:59:07 >> [cheering]

1:59:09 >> You can't fake steak, AND YOU CAN'T FAKE

1:59:12 DEFENSE. BROTHER!

1:59:14 THAT MIGHT BE THE PLAY OF THE WEEKEND,

1:59:18 AND IT'S STILL GAME ONE.

1:59:19 Hit drill, double bucket. THAT AIN'T NO

1:59:22 BUCKET. That's just a hook it. SHODDY

1:59:24 TAKES OFF.

1:59:25 >> TAJ, OOH, trying to go behind the back

1:59:27 on the throw down. Can't get it out.

1:59:29 Stolen base

1:59:31 for Shoddy.

1:59:33 What?

1:59:34 >> That is one of the greatest catches I've

1:59:36 ever seen, brother. Ate 40 oz of steak

1:59:38 this morning and still moves that

1:59:40 nimbly. That shouldn't be legal.

1:59:43 >> BC

1:59:45 a swinging bunt

1:59:46 that he'll still run out.

1:59:48 No bunting.

1:59:50 Because bunting sucks.

1:59:55 Coconuts have played at a run.

1:59:57 >> Now three out of last four frames.

2:00:02 >> And won two of those in the fourth and

2:00:03 the sixth.

2:00:05 >> Zack Blankenship trying to keep them at

2:00:06 a single run here in the top of the

2:00:07 seventh.

2:00:16 BC, Brett Carson and Zack Blankenship

2:00:18 [music] teammates last year.

2:00:20 >> 2025, Zack Blankenship didn't throw a

2:00:22 single pitch in 2025 for the Tailgaters.

2:00:24 Happy to see him return back out here on

2:00:26 the diamond.

2:00:27 >> Left side, Jordan Hussein, BETWEEN THE

2:00:29 LEGS DRIBBLE.

2:00:31 >> BETWEEN THE LEGS! NO!

2:00:34 THEY call

2:00:36 Brett Carson safe.

2:00:37 Taylor Justice wants a review.

2:00:41 And we do have a challenge.

2:00:45 All right.

2:00:46 This will be interesting to see.

2:00:49 Brett Carson really got down the line

2:00:51 with

2:00:53 So to throw, let's slow it down here.

2:00:56 We're going to really need to slow that

2:00:57 down.

2:00:59 Really slow it down here.

2:01:01 I mean, it looks out right here, but we

2:01:03 need another angle. Yes, this will be

2:01:05 the angle that'll tell us everything we

2:01:06 need to know. Let's really slow this

2:01:08 down here, guys.

2:01:10 We need to slow that down just a hair

2:01:11 more.

2:01:14 Yeah, he's out. He's out.

2:01:16 Tailgaters are coming off the field.

2:01:18 That's a double bucket bucket.

2:01:20 I mean, we can we don't wait officially

2:01:21 yet, but that's clear. Half a step, BC.

2:01:24 See that heel not quite on the first

2:01:25 base back.

2:01:27 And a great challenge right there.

2:01:30 Yeah, not sure if that was initiated by

2:01:32 the fans or the coaches.

2:01:33 But a challenge nonetheless.

2:01:36 >> [cheering]

2:01:42 >> Still looking at it. I I AJ, tell me if

2:01:44 I'm wrong. I feel like this is pretty

2:01:45 conclusive.

2:01:47 >> Yeah, no. It looks like he has him by

2:01:49 just a tenth of a second, and that's

2:01:50 enough to flip the call. We'll see if

2:01:52 the officials agree. They're taking

2:01:53 their time, doing their due diligence,

2:01:55 which I'm never going to have a problem

2:01:57 with. You want to get the [music] call

2:01:58 right, especially in a game this close.

2:01:59 But at least from this angle, from what

2:02:01 we're seeing up here, it looks like an

2:02:03 out. Unless it Okay, so that's the

2:02:05 freeze frame right there. I guess unless

2:02:06 it those spikes are somehow on the bag,

2:02:08 but

2:02:10 no, to me that looks like

2:02:13 an out. It really does. And that's

2:02:15 coming from a guy who's Loco Beach life

2:02:16 or death.

2:02:19 >> Hector Gonzalez, Reggie Liggins. There

2:02:21 you see the great director of

2:02:23 entertainment for the Texas Tailgaters,

2:02:24 Jade "Up" Jordan Watson. And yes, Hector

2:02:26 Gonzalez will rule it out. HOW ABOUT

2:02:29 THAT FOR A COUPLE of trick plays? My

2:02:32 goodness.

2:02:34 6-3,

2:02:36 double bucket in your score bucket home.

2:02:38 A couple of trick plays, which are now

2:02:40 put the Tailgaters ahead in the trick

2:02:42 play category 11 to 6.

2:02:48 GEICO and the Banana Ball Championship

2:02:50 League are teaming up to send one lucky

2:02:52 winner on the ultimate fan experience

2:02:54 [cheering] to the 2026 Banana Ball

2:02:56 Championship game on October the 10th.

2:02:59 >> [cheering]

2:03:00 >> Win four tickets, airfare, hotel, and a

2:03:02 VIP on-field player experience. Go to

2:03:05 itfeelsgoodtogobananas.com.

2:03:08 Again, it feels good to go bananas.com

2:03:11 to enter.

2:03:13 And if the Loco Be Coconuts are there on

2:03:15 October the 10th, you might even meet

2:03:17 the lovely, some would say handsome, and

2:03:19 best third of all of Banana Ball, A.J.

2:03:21 Switzer.

2:03:21 >> Oh my gosh, Brad, you're making me

2:03:23 blush. I've done too much blushing

2:03:25 today. Thank you for everyone who's

2:03:27 complimenting my hair. I guess we're not

2:03:29 going to chop it off in Las Vegas, but

2:03:30 you know what we are going to do is

2:03:32 probably play witness to some more

2:03:34 taters like this. Because when you've

2:03:36 got a lineup with power hitters by the

2:03:38 names of Eric Asberg, Tanner Rall, and

2:03:41 Dane Tappler, and Jordan Brewer, it just

2:03:43 keeps coming and pouring on. The most

2:03:45 recent rainmaker from E.O. has the

2:03:48 Coconuts with a prime opportunity to tie

2:03:50 this ballgame at Trios.

2:03:52 >> Jose Gutierrez, first career Banana Ball

2:03:56 plate appearance.

2:03:59 Played in the Mexican League the past

2:04:01 couple of years.

2:04:02 Played at four different colleges.

2:04:04 Began his career Dallas Baptist

2:04:07 University, Division 1 here in Texas.

2:04:10 Grew up in the Arlington, Texas area.

2:04:13 Joined Banana Ball due to the injury of

2:04:15 Travis Monyo. Was in the draft pool. Was

2:04:18 obviously not drafted back in November,

2:04:19 but has been selected to replace the

2:04:22 injured Travis Monyo for the FORESEEABLE

2:04:24 FUTURE. JOSE! INSIDE OUT! THAT'S GOING

2:04:27 TO HOP OFF THE WALL. GUTIERREZ GETTING

2:04:30 ON HIS HORSE. AND JOSE GUTIERREZ, IN HIS

2:04:33 FIRST BANANA Ball AB, gets a stand-up

2:04:36 double in his first career banana ball

2:04:38 hit. And he wants that yellow banana

2:04:41 ball.

2:04:42 >> Yeah,

2:04:43 I don't blame him. I mean, that's about

2:04:44 as good as a first ever AB in the sport

2:04:46 can go.

2:04:48 Exactly what they teach on that pitch,

2:04:50 too. You said it well, Brett. Inside

2:04:52 out, able to get it to left field, spray

2:04:54 it where the defense wasn't. Hitting

2:04:55 tying run in scoring position, the

2:04:57 winning one at the plate. The Quadfather

2:04:59 after that hot dog earlier went straight

2:05:01 to the mass.

2:05:03 I mean, you just can't teach power like

2:05:05 the kind that he has in those quads.

2:05:06 >> Can't teach throwing ability like AJ

2:05:08 Cash has, either.

2:05:10 The Quadfather's faced off against Andy

2:05:11 Archer quite a lot. As a Party Animal in

2:05:13 2024, Arch has a banana. And then

2:05:16 obviously last year, Arch has a banana

2:05:17 and Taj here with the boys in blue and

2:05:19 orange.

2:05:20 >> Brett, you're given 3 years. You think

2:05:21 you got a better chance of getting quads

2:05:23 bigger than Taj's or rope skills better

2:05:26 than those?

2:05:27 >> Well, my quads are already halfway to

2:05:29 Taj's, thanks to the good Lord above.

2:05:30 So, easily Taj's legs.

2:05:33 As he'll sit on that one.

2:05:35 Two balls and two strikes.

2:05:39 BP

2:05:43 awaits the 2-2 from Big Arch.

2:05:47 Pokes it foul, left side.

2:05:49 >> Ooh, perfect opportunity for a man in a

2:05:51 coconut skirt. A young man, I should

2:05:53 say, in a coconut skirt.

2:05:54 >> It's a Dane Toplin fan. He had a

2:05:56 Canadian flag and it hit him right in

2:05:58 the glove. Bring a glove.

2:06:01 I guess he did.

2:06:01 >> Use your glove.

2:06:02 >> Yeah. There you go. Use your glove.

2:06:05 >> Deuce-deuce again.

2:06:06 >> [cheering]

2:06:06 >> BP swatted right side. Getting gets to

2:06:10 it. HE HAS AN 80-GRADE ARM. THROWS IT

2:06:12 HOME WAY UP THE LINE AND GETS AWAY. TAJ

2:06:15 WILL NOW ADVANCE TO SECOND. AS HE'S

2:06:17 THROWN HIGH, [screaming]

2:06:19 NOT IN TIME.

2:06:21 AN RBI SINGLE. Taj gets into scoring

2:06:24 position. Inning

2:06:26 now tied

2:06:27 >> [cheering]

2:06:28 >> as Mark Crocco

2:06:31 is out screaming on the field.

2:06:35 >> We're reviewing this one and rightfully

2:06:36 so.

2:06:38 >> Yes, it looks

2:06:39 as if coach Crocco is trying to initiate

2:06:42 a challenge and I think he's now

2:06:44 successfully has.

2:06:46 >> Let's take a second look at this on the

2:06:47 broadcast as well.

2:06:48 >> Yeah, after the Aaron throw back in,

2:06:50 Asby throws this the second throw was

2:06:51 high which even made it close.

2:06:53 Ooh.

2:06:55 I'd love to see the third base side.

2:06:58 Because it looks like Taj could be

2:07:00 around the tag here but then hand hits

2:07:02 the bag. You can definitely tell the

2:07:04 tag's on here. We're going to be able to

2:07:05 tell

2:07:06 can't tell where the bag is there.

2:07:10 I can't tell if the tag is on him

2:07:12 until there until his hand's on the bag.

2:07:14 If we could can we see this from the

2:07:16 high home angle again and just really

2:07:17 slow that down. We can't tell anything

2:07:19 from this angle. Can we go back to that

2:07:21 high home angle and really slow that

2:07:23 down

2:07:24 if we could. Let's really slow this

2:07:26 down. Frame by frame even if we could.

2:07:30 Gosh, AJ. I can't I can't tell.

2:07:33 >> So, to me the best evidence is always

2:07:35 reactions after the play.

2:07:37 And I'm no professional lip reader but

2:07:40 Taj thought he had him.

2:07:42 >> And the call is successfully overturned.

2:07:44 Mark Crocco wins his challenge, will

2:07:45 retain his challenge and that'll be out

2:07:48 number one. Great challenge there by

2:07:49 Crocco.

2:07:50 >> And that's kind of exactly where I was

2:07:51 going with it. Taj Porter immediately

2:07:53 laughed and said, "Yeah, that tag got

2:07:54 me." And you know, that's good

2:07:56 sportsmanship. It really is. Taj is a

2:07:57 guy who has a lot of respect. For those

2:07:59 who aren't familiar back in Savannah,

2:08:01 the Tailgaters and Coconut share a

2:08:04 locker room and Taj is a guy who's

2:08:05 really popular in that Coconut's locker

2:08:07 room for reasons like that. Just an

2:08:08 honest good dude.

2:08:10 >> Brew

2:08:12 transfers it to himself. Wow. Yeah, I

2:08:15 mean that's a trick play. Put it on the

2:08:16 board. Book it.

2:08:17 Seventh of the night.

2:08:20 I don't know if brother thought that was

2:08:21 foul

2:08:23 or what.

2:08:24 >> Uh the stakes weighing him down.

2:08:27 >> Mind you, Lionheart. you got to talk to

2:08:29 him earlier. That was That was one of

2:08:30 the most fun mic dubs I have had in my

2:08:33 time here in Banana Ball and in the

2:08:34 broadcasting game.

2:08:37 >> I second that. I mean, he is so good on

2:08:39 the microphone. He even lost the IFB and

2:08:41 knew how to put it back in. That's

2:08:43 special talent.

2:08:44 >> ball magnet right there if I've ever

2:08:45 seen one.

2:08:46 He's in the driver's seat here at 3 and

2:08:47 0.

2:08:52 Ball four sprint to Mind Your Line.

2:08:56 Jason,

2:08:57 OH, HE WANTS TWO.

2:09:00 JASON.

2:09:05 WELL, half two. I was waiting on Randy

2:09:07 Voss, who took about four years to tell

2:09:09 us

2:09:10 the second base umpire, Jason will have

2:09:12 a stand-up two-bagger on the ball four

2:09:14 sprint.

2:09:16 And a bird tried to fly in the broadcast

2:09:17 booth.

2:09:18 When doves fly or cry, whichever one you

2:09:21 prefer. Jordan Hussey

2:09:23 doubled his last time up.

2:09:26 Oh and one.

2:09:32 The Texas kid could come up in a really

2:09:34 clutch way here.

2:09:38 Trying to win this inning. Jason Arndt

2:09:40 represents the inning-winning run in

2:09:42 scoring position.

2:09:45 And on the hands, right side, Brewer

2:09:48 giving IT SOME CHASE. JORDAN BREWER OVER

2:09:50 THE SHOULDER. Are you serious?

2:09:56 >> A bad man over at first base. That's how

2:09:59 you help your pitcher out of a jam.

2:10:01 Jordan Brewer runs into the visiting

2:10:03 bullpen, puts on a show for the fans,

2:10:06 and secures the banana ball out of the

2:10:08 sky in a big moment to keep the inning

2:10:10 locked at one. There are two innings to

2:10:12 go. The Tailgaters have a one-point

2:10:14 lead, but Jordan Brewer keeps the

2:10:16 coconut squarely in the dance with that

2:10:19 snag in foul ground.

2:10:31 Indiana State

2:10:33 >> [cheering]

2:10:33 >> What a great man that I know. I was able

2:10:35 to return to the lineup here tonight

2:10:37 after making arguably the play of the

2:10:39 year back in Chapel Hill. Injured

2:10:41 himself

2:10:43 during this play.

2:10:45 >> [cheering]

2:10:45 >> Again,

2:10:46 didn't rob a home run, but an extra base

2:10:48 hit from Kyle Jackson at UNC.

2:10:50 Indy fell over the net, hit the back of

2:10:52 his noggin. Obviously had to enter

2:10:54 concussion protocol. Was finally cleared

2:10:56 this week.

2:10:57 And again, one of the greatest plays

2:10:59 you'll ever see on a diamond. And even

2:11:01 though Indy wasn't cleared last week, he

2:11:03 was still such a big cheerleader. And

2:11:05 the boys Banana Ball Open Tournament

2:11:07 Championship win. And then able to do

2:11:09 this here at UNC. Happy to see him back

2:11:11 in the lineup tonight.

2:11:12 >> It takes something spectacular to

2:11:14 completely shock Jesse Cole, and that is

2:11:17 what that play did. That's how you know

2:11:19 the merit that came from that grab. And

2:11:21 for my friends who were on that trip,

2:11:22 they said after that catch, everyone

2:11:23 started calling it Chapel Thrill. That's

2:11:25 how thrilling of a play that was.

2:11:27 >> I was on that trip. I'm your friend. I

2:11:29 didn't call it Chapel Thrill.

2:11:32 Oh.

2:11:33 >> Brad Allen

2:11:34 facing Tanner Allen.

2:11:35 Not related.

2:11:37 Why are you giving me a pokey lip, Brad?

2:11:43 >> Cuz you threw my world.

2:11:45 >> Good.

2:11:49 >> [laughter]

2:11:50 >> I don't know what to say to that.

2:11:53 How to make broadcasting awkward 101 by

2:11:55 AJ Switek.

2:11:56 >> I wish they could see. I'm just staring

2:11:58 at him.

2:11:58 >> Yeah, you're just like putting darts in

2:12:00 my soul.

2:12:01 >> [cheering]

2:12:03 >> What's that mean?

2:12:04 >> So, AJ, there's a game called darts. And

2:12:06 so, you take it and you throw it at a

2:12:08 little board. And the closer you get to

2:12:10 the bull's-eye,

2:12:12 the more points you can potentially win.

2:12:14 And so, that's it's

2:12:16 darts. I feel like you're throwing those

2:12:17 in in my soul, in my heart.

2:12:20 >> Well, I would never DO THAT.

2:12:22 >> PAYOFF PITCH COMING FROM BRETT DONNY

2:12:23 ALLEN.

2:12:26 Ball four Brett to TA.

2:12:27 >> Partially because I'm not very good at

2:12:29 darts, but don't tell a very certain

2:12:31 person somewhere. Cuz I'm good enough,

2:12:34 you know.

2:12:34 >> Who do I not tell that to?

2:12:39 >> The man upstairs.

2:12:42 >> Oh, did you just pull a C group between

2:12:44 me, YOU, AND GOD? AJ SWITEK. OH, THAT

2:12:47 FIRES ME UP.

2:12:48 >> OH, I was hoping that that one would get

2:12:50 you going the way it did for me.

2:12:52 Wow. That was poetic. TA, you see it on

2:12:54 his back.

2:12:57 Bombs. Oh my gosh.

2:12:59 Hits one up in the solar system.

2:13:02 My July.

2:13:04 Has it for my out number one here in the

2:13:06 top of the eighth.

2:13:08 >> [laughter]

2:13:09 >> That reaction says it all from Jason R.

2:13:10 That is a way harder play than a routine

2:13:13 pop up because Ben Parker hit that a

2:13:15 country mile into the sky. R still

2:13:17 laughing. I mean, that is not an easy

2:13:19 grab.

2:13:20 >> [laughter]

2:13:20 >> He's even surprised he was able to track

2:13:22 that. Great play in left.

2:13:24 >> Dane Toth, big maple.

2:13:27 RBI single in his line tonight as he'll

2:13:29 fall behind 0 and 1.

2:13:31 Guy who played pro ball for nearly a

2:13:33 decade.

2:13:35 Facing an NAIA graduate and Donny Allen

2:13:38 from Reinhardt University. Girl on

2:13:39 first.

2:13:41 TA, not dancing off too much.

2:13:43 >> You know, I get TA's score for this

2:13:45 football look, but I'm going to have a

2:13:46 conversation with him about showing skin

2:13:48 between the pants and the socks.

2:13:52 I know we don't have a

2:13:54 the tightest dress code in the

2:13:56 >> [laughter]

2:13:56 >> Far from it. Look what we're wearing

2:13:58 right now. When I got pulled over with

2:14:00 Drake Toll wearing this and he was in

2:14:01 his fur coat and romper, the cop looked

2:14:03 at us and was like, "Are you two

2:14:04 genuinely Are you okay?"

2:14:06 >> What did he get pulled over for exactly?

2:14:08 >> Oh my goodness.

2:14:10 Figure that out in a moment.

2:14:12 >> Ball and two

2:14:12 >> Yeah, and true Drake Toll style. Love

2:14:14 him to death, but this guy had expired

2:14:17 tags of 3 months. He had the new ones in

2:14:19 the car. Said he just didn't feel like

2:14:20 putting them on.

2:14:21 >> Hope Toll's doing well up in New York

2:14:23 City tonight. Animals bananas.

2:14:25 >> Dane smoked out the center.

2:14:29 And Zach Watson

2:14:30 showing off the wheel. Ground out number

2:14:32 two.

2:14:33 >> That's like when you're playing MLB The

2:14:34 Show and you get a perfect perfect and

2:14:36 it just finds a glove. So frustrating. I

2:14:38 You heard the crack of the bat. It was

2:14:40 Exactly like that noise you wanted it to

2:14:42 make.

2:14:42 >> What What is that noise?

2:14:44 Say it one more time.

2:14:46 >> You make three different noises. I want

2:14:47 to see the consistency [laughter]

2:14:48 you can get there.

2:14:49 >> Well, that that's my imitation of a

2:14:51 perfectly hit ball to the deepest part

2:14:53 of the yard that just finds leather.

2:14:55 Sometimes it's that kind of day. It has

2:14:56 been for Tofolla.

2:14:58 >> Yeah, Dane has hit the ball hard. All

2:15:00 four plate appearances. He has one hit

2:15:02 to show for it.

2:15:03 >> Bingo. Love bingo, by the way.

2:15:08 >> What Jordan Brewer

2:15:10 Why of all things did that make me

2:15:11 laugh?

2:15:13 Jeez.

2:15:16 What a night we have here

2:15:18 in Amarillo, Texas.

2:15:19 >> Brett Allen trying to throw up a zero.

2:15:21 It'll be the first since the fifth

2:15:23 inning if he can do so.

2:15:24 For these Coconuts. Paints the inner

2:15:26 half. Gets back in his own two and one.

2:15:29 Donny really been working on that

2:15:30 command.

2:15:32 Told me when I'm in the zone, nobody in

2:15:33 the sport can hit me.

2:15:36 Gets in it right there. Jordan Brewer

2:15:37 sure can.

2:15:39 Shows it down the line.

2:15:41 Bounces all the way to the fence.

2:15:43 Jason gets to it. Tanner Allen's coming

2:15:45 home. JORDAN WOSICK GO TO BARE HANDED.

2:15:48 And it gets away. Jordan Brewer advances

2:15:50 up to third, but an RBI double will make

2:15:53 it the third straight inning the

2:15:54 Coconuts have plated a run.

2:15:56 Jordan Brewer

2:15:57 big hit in a big moment. Tanner Allen

2:16:00 able to capitalize with his wheels going

2:16:02 first to home on a two bagger. Brewer

2:16:05 gets an extra 90, and in spite of a

2:16:08 great effort on the throw-in, the

2:16:10 coconuts are on the board again with a

2:16:11 potentially game-tying point.

2:16:15 >> ASHBY,

2:16:17 OH AIR SUNSHINE.

2:16:19 >> [screaming and cheering]

2:16:21 >> HE'S TRICKY. HE'S SNEAKY. He's Sunshine,

2:16:26 the best DEFENDER IN FLORIDA BALL.

2:16:29 >> [cheering]

2:16:32 >> WOW. I MEAN, ARE YOU KIDDING?

2:16:35 That keeps a run off the board. There's

2:16:36 a runner on third.

2:16:38 Uh

2:16:39 I am absolutely speechless.

2:16:42 He looked like the NBA logo with the way

2:16:44 he got up on that. And it's so routine

2:16:46 for the guy who wears the mouth guard

2:16:47 because Sunshine, as you mentioned,

2:16:49 undeniably the best in this sport in the

2:16:52 field. Leads it in trick plays. Now it's

2:16:55 up to him and his bats to get things

2:16:56 going after we go down to the field.

2:17:26 >> [music]

2:17:40 [singing]

2:17:40 [music]

2:17:42 >> Let me hear you.

2:17:44 >> [cheering]

2:18:03 [music and singing]

2:18:15 [music]

2:18:23 [cheering]

2:18:29 >> Man, what a beautiful night.

2:18:31 What a beautiful, beautiful night.

2:18:34 That the yellow rose of Texas has

2:18:36 blessed us with.

2:18:38 Here at the home of the Amarillo Sod

2:18:40 Poodles.

2:18:41 Hodgetown.

2:18:43 Seven-year-old facility that is as

2:18:45 modern as any minor league baseball

2:18:47 stadium

2:18:48 in the lower 48.

2:18:51 And a beautiful night

2:18:52 that we are so pleasured

2:18:54 to spend with you. He's A.J. Swiatek.

2:18:56 I'm Bret LaRue.

2:18:57 Mohawk Mike is our producer.

2:18:59 That's C.J. Williams. It's the Loco

2:19:01 Beach Coconuts. It's the Texas

2:19:03 Tailgaters. And it's crunch time. In a

2:19:05 three to two ballgame

2:19:07 that the Tailgaters lead in a trick play

2:19:08 battle, but the Tailgaters lead 11 to 7.

2:19:11 An inning early, A.J. Swiatek, Loco

2:19:13 Beach and their skipper Mark Crocco

2:19:15 turned to their closer.

2:19:17 Put it perfectly, an inning early, and

2:19:18 that tells me a lot about how important

2:19:21 this eighth inning is to Mark Crocco and

2:19:22 company. The closer is coming in in the

2:19:26 eighth with a chance to get this thing

2:19:28 tied going into the ninth. The man who

2:19:30 would be so happy about that sitting to

2:19:32 move over at short,

2:19:36 welcome to the broadcast, my friend.

2:19:37 >> What's up, boys?

2:19:38 >> How we doing?

2:19:39 >> Good, man. Good. Love you. Have a good

2:19:40 day.

2:19:41 >> Love you, man. Love you.

2:19:41 >> Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

2:19:43 >> Shawty, hey.

2:19:44 >> Hey.

2:19:45 >> I just want to tell you I love you real

2:19:46 quick.

2:19:47 >> I love you, too. Is that what you said?

2:19:48 You said I I love you, too.

2:19:50 >> 100%. How did it feel falling on your

2:19:51 backside earlier?

2:19:53 When you rounded first on that ball

2:19:54 first round?

2:19:55 >> I don't know what you're talking about.

2:19:56 Who's ask- Who's that asking? Huh?

2:19:58 Who's that asking? I'll remember that.

2:20:00 >> Yeah, that didn't happen.

2:20:01 >> Bro, I don't think the broadcast got it,

2:20:03 right? There's no shot they got

2:20:04 >> No, we did. We talked about it making

2:20:05 the banana ball blooper reel one time.

2:20:07 Would you collab with me if I posted

2:20:09 that?

2:20:09 >> Absolutely, I would. I'll take any

2:20:10 collab.

2:20:11 >> Sunshine hit on a unicycle. Sunshine!

2:20:14 Oh my gosh! He smoked IT DOWN THE LINE.

2:20:17 He's rounding first. TA just gets to it.

2:20:20 The first extra base hit Sunshine's ever

2:20:23 had on a unicycle.

2:20:25 And what [screaming] a time to get it.

2:20:27 >> Wow.

2:20:27 >> The lead off the bottom of the eighth.

2:20:30 And after Air Sunshine makes an

2:20:32 appearance in the top half.

2:20:33 >> Hey, just get out of

2:20:34 >> Unicycle Sunshine makes an appearance in

2:20:35 the bottom half.

2:20:37 Hey Payton, the good news is you've got

2:20:38 CJ Williams on the mound. What can you

2:20:40 tell me about this team's closer?

2:20:41 >> Yeah, he's a dog.

2:20:43 Um, he's going to give it everything

2:20:44 he's got and we trust him a

2:20:46 a ton, obviously. We give him the rock

2:20:48 every every dang game, so [cheering]

2:20:50 um,

2:20:50 yeah, he's going to get us out of this.

2:20:52 Watch.

2:20:53 >> Loopy now running at second. Zack Watson

2:20:55 now at the dish. Shoddy, what is it like

2:20:57 playing behind a guy with such intensity

2:20:59 like CJ Williams?

2:21:00 >> Oh, CJ's great, man. He's a dog. I think

2:21:02 that's that's what's awesome about him.

2:21:03 He's such a competitor.

2:21:07 >> Payton, I want to go

2:21:09 your new wife, Lexi. She said she said

2:21:11 she struggled spelling your last name.

2:21:13 >> Yeah.

2:21:13 >> How long did it take for her to get that

2:21:15 down?

2:21:15 >> That's a good question. For the longest

2:21:16 time she would just call me Payton

2:21:18 Champagne, I believe. That's how like

2:21:19 she would talk whenever she would tell

2:21:21 her mom, like hey, I'm talking to this

2:21:23 little really handsome, cute, awesome

2:21:25 dude named Payton Champagne.

2:21:27 Um, and then I don't know when it was. I

2:21:28 don't even know whenever she was able to

2:21:30 pronounce it, but eventually it probably

2:21:31 took years for her to be able to spell

2:21:32 it. Heck, that's the whole reason I was

2:21:34 in first grade twice. I couldn't spell

2:21:35 that name.

2:21:37 >> Shoddy, I got one for you. Big pitching

2:21:39 coming or ball or strike?

2:21:40 >> Don't you ask me something how to spell.

2:21:41 I'm not good at that. I'm just like

2:21:42 Lexi, I can't I can't spell.

2:21:43 >> I'm not going to ask you HOW TO SPELL.

2:21:44 >> OH, I CAN'T SEE IT. YOU GUYS SEE IT CUZ

2:21:47 I DON'T see it. I have no idea. I got to

2:21:48 get to three, though.

2:21:51 >> Good call.

2:21:52 As we make a great play on Shotti.

2:21:55 >> This is your second time this year

2:21:56 returning to Texas.

2:21:57 >> Yeah. Yeah.

2:21:58 >> You played at TCU.

2:22:00 >> Sure did.

2:22:00 >> Tell us how special the Lone Star State

2:22:02 is to you.

2:22:02 >> Yeah, Texas is awesome. Obviously, Texas

2:22:04 is home for me.

2:22:06 Um grew up in Houston, went and played

2:22:07 ball for a year at TCU.

2:22:09 Absolute phenomenal place. Awesome

2:22:11 campus. Love the coaches. Love the

2:22:12 players. Um Texas is special. I think

2:22:14 everybody knows that, man. It's

2:22:16 It's its own country. That's why we love

2:22:18 it.

2:22:18 >> Your relationship with Jordan Shotti and

2:22:21 Clown Shortz and Bobby Leyden.

2:22:22 All three of you guys growing up in the

2:22:24 Houston area.

2:22:25 >> For sure.

2:22:26 >> We'll get to that in one moment. Jordan

2:22:27 Brewer

2:22:28 just throws it to CJ for out number two.

2:22:30 Talk about that. I mean, three guys all

2:22:32 from the same area. All playing the same

2:22:34 position. Now all on the same court of

2:22:35 an hour.

2:22:36 >> Yeah, I mean, obviously those guys are

2:22:37 unbelievable in Banana Ball.

2:22:39 Um I actually

2:22:41 I followed Jordan for a while uh cuz he

2:22:43 was here first.

2:22:45 Um reached out to him. We got to

2:22:46 chit-chat. We're going to field ground

2:22:47 balls in Texas at one point. We didn't

2:22:49 get any We weren't able to.

2:22:50 Uh and then Bobby, me and Bobby actually

2:22:52 played travel ball together for a little

2:22:53 while. So, whenever I was on the

2:22:55 visitors um

2:22:57 he was back at home and we would field

2:22:59 ground balls and all that kind of stuff.

2:23:00 And

2:23:01 um I mean, I'm super excited for him.

2:23:02 He's a baller.

2:23:05 >> Jordan Brewer is 0 and 1.

2:23:06 >> Payton, in moments like this, how do you

2:23:08 juggle putting on a show with the trick

2:23:10 play versus getting a much needed

2:23:11 >> was like actually the talk before this

2:23:13 inning. It didn't happen cuz this pop up

2:23:15 and that little ground ball. But, we

2:23:16 were going to try to rip a bunch of

2:23:17 double trick plays to get get ourselves

2:23:19 in a to point. But, now we just got it

2:23:21 like there's no point in doing one here.

2:23:23 That's just routine, I guess. But, no,

2:23:25 I'm I'm not doing it.

2:23:26 >> Down four trick plays with one out.

2:23:27 Can't win the equalizer.

2:23:28 >> we can get four trick plays in one? Do

2:23:30 you think that's possible? Like I go in

2:23:31 between the legs, then I throw it to to

2:23:33 Sal. Sal goes between the legs, then he

2:23:35 throws it to CJ. CJ catches it, throws

2:23:37 it behind his back, and then Jordan

2:23:38 catches it between his legs. Do we tie?

2:23:40 >> So, Shotti, just want to tell you

2:23:41 something.

2:23:41 >> Yep.

2:23:42 >> In Banana Ball, it's only possible to

2:23:43 get two trick plays in a

2:23:44 >> Cool. Cool. That's good to know.

2:23:45 >> Yep, 100%. Just wanted to educate you

2:23:47 for

2:23:47 >> Yeah, thank you for that. Hey, that's a

2:23:49 good idea.

2:23:49 >> Ashby. That just saved the run coming in

2:23:52 to score.

2:23:53 >> Hey, you learn something new every day,

2:23:54 CJ.

2:23:54 >> Yeah, that's really good to know. But,

2:23:56 probably maybe we won't air that. That

2:23:57 makes me look kind of dumb, but that's

2:23:58 all right. HERE WE GO, CJ.

2:23:59 >> THIS is live TV, Peyton.

2:24:01 >> Oh, you can't pause it?

2:24:02 >> So, I mean, we can pause it.

2:24:04 >> that's recording it to delete it.

2:24:07 >> Oh, come on.

2:24:07 >> Hey.

2:24:08 >> Oh, gets through. Jordan Barth washes

2:24:11 this inning at least. And now the

2:24:13 Tailgaters have a chance to walk it off.

2:24:15 With that RBI single.

2:24:19 >> Ah, that hurts. That hurts. Back-to-back

2:24:21 >> It ain't cheating.

2:24:22 >> Tailgaters are in pole position to get a

2:24:24 point. And for CJ, it's got to be

2:24:26 frustrating. I mean, first off, a double

2:24:28 on a unicycle, then one just barely

2:24:30 sneaks through the infield. He's got his

2:24:32 stuff going. Now, it's up to Williams to

2:24:36 keep this inning tied.

2:24:37 >> Jacob Peppersick running over at first.

2:24:40 Shawty, watch out for him to run.

2:24:41 >> Say what now?

2:24:42 >> Jacob Peppersick, our designated runner,

2:24:44 is running.

2:24:44 >> Oh, I'm not covering the bag. That's

2:24:46 That's cheating.

2:24:46 >> he stole. I'm sorry. I I just saw him.

2:24:48 >> That's what Hey, I'mma learn you

2:24:49 something.

2:24:50 >> I TOLD YOU.

2:24:52 >> I'MMA LEARN YOU SOMETHING.

2:24:53 >> JACOB PEPPERSICK STEALS ANOTHER BAG this

2:24:55 year.

2:24:55 >> But, I'm not covering it.

2:24:56 >> I'm just telling you he was going to go.

2:24:58 I was just telling you.

2:25:00 >> Team's now a perfect 31 for 31 when

2:25:02 stealing against us.

2:25:03 >> Wow, is it really He's 31 Oh, the team

2:25:05 is. I was about to say.

2:25:06 >> Jacob Peppersick is four for five this

2:25:08 year now.

2:25:08 >> That's impressive, too.

2:25:10 See, I would be up there, but you got to

2:25:12 get on base to steal bases, and I ain't

2:25:13 done that very well, so.

2:25:15 >> Hey, can you tell Pip to continue

2:25:16 running wild? Tell him Brett Loftis said

2:25:18 that.

2:25:18 >> HEY, BRETT SAID STEAL RIGHT HERE.

2:25:21 >> I don't think he heard you. I think he

2:25:22 needs to be A LITTLE

2:25:23 >> STEAL RIGHT HERE.

2:25:25 He had to have heard me there. There's

2:25:26 no way he didn't.

2:25:27 >> turned his head at least.

2:25:29 Oh my gosh, he's going to go. Big pitch.

2:25:30 Oh, he is stealing. He listens to me.

2:25:34 Shawty, I love you, man.

2:25:35 >> Nice shot. Look what you did. That's

2:25:36 going to make me look bad.

2:25:38 >> That's awesome.

2:25:39 Post that on Banana Ball. All right, two

2:25:41 balls, two strikes, two outs.

2:25:42 >> In case anybody's wondering, we were not

2:25:44 covered and we got two outs. Doesn't

2:25:45 make a difference, he's still in scoring

2:25:46 position.

2:25:47 >> Deuces wild for CJ.

2:25:50 Taylor!

2:25:50 >> Oh, no.

2:25:51 >> High in the sky.

2:25:52 >> see it. Oh, no. Oh, no.

2:25:54 >> Out to deep left.

2:25:56 OFF THE WALL. [screaming] TAYLOR JUSTICE

2:25:59 WALKS OFF the eighth INNING

2:26:02 >> [cheering]

2:26:02 >> WITH AN RBI TRIPLE.

2:26:05 >> YES! [screaming]

2:26:06 >> PEYTON SHAFFER

2:26:07 >> PLAYED WELL, BOYS. THEY'RE PLAYING WELL.

2:26:10 >> Love you, Shaffer.

2:26:11 >> Love you, guys.

2:26:12 >> Hey, Peyton.

2:26:13 >> And now a four to two

2:26:15 for the Texas A&M Aggies. We're

2:26:17 >> Hey, we still GOT THE NINTH INNING.

2:26:18 >> to the ninth and final inning of the

2:26:21 ballgame.

2:26:22 Taylor Justice, one of the hottest

2:26:24 hitters on the planet tonight, has

2:26:26 reached in three of his four plate

2:26:27 appearances and has two of the four

2:26:29 walk-offs this evening for the boys in

2:26:31 blue and orange.

2:26:32 But now, there's a man who went to

2:26:35 college JUST 20 MINUTES AWAY from here

2:26:38 at West Texas A&M who's going to come

2:26:40 out to the field and try to shut it down

2:26:43 for the boys in blue and orange. He

2:26:45 wears number 22 and his name

2:26:49 is Reese Miller.

2:26:51 >> [cheering]

2:27:02 >> With 12 strikeouts,

2:27:05 three saves this year,

2:27:09 from West Texas A&M,

2:27:12 your closing pitcher, [cheering]

2:27:15 number

2:27:16 22,

2:27:17 Reese

2:27:19 Miller.

2:27:23 >> [cheering]

2:27:32 >> A homecoming

2:27:34 for the kid that went to West Texas A&M.

2:27:37 And an opportunity for Reese to get save

2:27:40 number four in his rookie campaign. 20

2:27:43 minutes from Hodgetown. You see it there

2:27:45 on the slab. A 6.75 ERA which he's

2:27:48 trying to drive down by the day.

2:27:52 Reese Miller

2:27:53 native of Houston, but as we mentioned,

2:27:55 went to West Texas A&M.

2:27:57 And he will have to face six, seven, and

2:28:00 eight here of the Coconut's lineup.

2:28:02 You have to expect AJ we'd see it going

2:28:04 to matter at some point.

2:28:06 >> Well, this is a really interesting trio.

2:28:07 I mean, the stories write themselves.

2:28:09 Eric Asberg home run in his last time

2:28:11 up. Peyton Shottaneye on deck we just

2:28:13 talked to and he's ready to get on base.

2:28:15 And then in the hole Gideon Antle got

2:28:17 the first hit of the day for the

2:28:18 Coconut's with a triple. You're

2:28:19 definitely not going to batting for Eric

2:28:21 Asberg with the way he's seen the ball

2:28:23 in this game. I'd keep an eye on Peyton

2:28:25 Shottaneye, but he is still in the on

2:28:27 deck circle on your screen right now.

2:28:29 Coach Craco has a lot of faith in this

2:28:31 group. It'll be interesting to see how

2:28:33 he uses his coaching decision here in

2:28:35 the biggest moment. And it really

2:28:36 depends on how Asberg leads off the

2:28:38 frame.

2:28:38 >> Can the comeback Coconut's [cheering]

2:28:40 spoil a homecoming

2:28:42 for Reese Miller?

2:28:44 It's the guy who spent nearly a decade

2:28:47 in the Tampa Bay Rays organization to

2:28:49 lead us all and has went y'all y'all

2:28:50 already tonight. Eric Asberg

2:28:55 Four to two. Boys in blue and orange

2:28:58 lead it to the boys from the beach.

2:29:02 Slider. Oh my gosh. The dirtiest pitch

2:29:05 in the sport.

2:29:06 A one and oh.

2:29:10 All 7,000 people in Amarillo

2:29:13 starting to feel that energy.

2:29:15 Tailgaters trying to get back to six and

2:29:18 six. Maybe you're wondering at home,

2:29:20 "What's in it here for the boys from

2:29:22 Texas?" They've already clinched a

2:29:23 playoff spot

2:29:24 when they won the Banana Ball Open

2:29:25 Tournament. Well,

2:29:27 they want to track down those Savannah

2:29:28 Bananas and get that number one seed in

2:29:30 the whole thing.

2:29:31 Tonight a small step in that direction

2:29:33 potentially.

2:29:34 E O

2:29:35 holds up in time. He's in the driver's

2:29:37 seat here two and one.

2:29:38 >> Ausborn seeing the ball well. You can

2:29:39 just see it right now. Swinging at

2:29:41 strikes, spitting on balls.

2:29:53 >> Three and one.

2:29:55 Ball four sprint defense now.

2:29:59 Slider shows disgusting. It confuses

2:30:01 home plate umpire.

2:30:02 That one didn't confuse anyone. Ball

2:30:04 four sprint. Now, that'll bring the

2:30:06 coconuts game tied point {slash} run to

2:30:08 the dish

2:30:09 in form of Peyton Chatagnier.

2:30:15 >> Really mature look from Eric Ausborn.

2:30:17 That's what 10 years of professional

2:30:18 playing experience will do for you. And

2:30:20 J.D. Ursúa, okay, interesting. There's a

2:30:23 new designated runner for the first time

2:30:25 instead of Armani Henderson. They

2:30:27 entrust J.D. Ursúa to run here in the

2:30:30 >> night. It's actually a pinch runner in

2:30:31 this scenario.

2:30:33 Cannot change a designated runner in

2:30:34 game. So, J.D. Ursúa just straight up

2:30:36 pinch running here. Eric Ausborn slider.

2:30:38 Good job by Taj to keep it in front of

2:30:40 him.

2:30:41 Shatty

2:30:42 ball four sprint and two strike outs on

2:30:44 his resume this evening.

2:30:51 Shatty

2:30:53 smoked about a 100 mile an hour foul on

2:30:55 the third base line.

2:30:57 >> See that pull side pop though.

2:30:59 Chatagnier's at his best when he's

2:31:01 pulling the ball to left field.

2:31:02 >> Dude had a couple of double digit home

2:31:04 run seasons in the SEC at Ole Miss.

2:31:06 You know he's got the pop.

2:31:09 Coconuts would love to see it on display

2:31:10 here.

2:31:12 Out of play. Ball and two.

2:31:14 Talk to Reese Miller a lot Sunday night

2:31:16 after the

2:31:17 banana ball open win.

2:31:19 Said, "I just need a clean inning to get

2:31:21 it back on my resume." A ball four

2:31:22 sprint doesn't put you in that

2:31:23 direction.

2:31:24 >> Tonight is all of us right now.

2:31:26 >> Screaming, exclaiming for a couple of

2:31:28 Coconut's runs here in the top of the

2:31:29 ninth.

2:31:31 The one-two

2:31:32 from Reese Milner.

2:31:38 Coconut's ferocious approach at the dish

2:31:40 tonight.

2:31:42 Got to love what you've seen from the

2:31:43 team

2:31:44 that ranks fifth in ball force Princeton

2:31:46 tonight.

2:31:51 Now, one more pitch

2:31:54 from being back-to-back ball force

2:31:56 Princeton lead off tonight.

2:31:58 Also, a strike away from out number one.

2:31:59 What say you, REESE?

2:32:02 GOT HIM!

2:32:03 BACKWARDS K!

2:32:06 >> [cheering]

2:32:11 >> Going out the same way I came in through

2:32:12 the front door.

2:32:14 Bender just comes right over the inner

2:32:16 half.

2:32:18 And now it's Gideon Antell.

2:32:20 Triple in his first AB, been retired in

2:32:22 both of those six.

2:32:29 >> Reck Carson's in the on-deck circle.

2:32:31 That means Sal Giaccomo's going to be

2:32:32 golden bat for next. So, Antell looking

2:32:34 to get some extra legs on the path for

2:32:36 when that happens.

2:32:40 >> Out to left center, in the gap.

2:32:44 Why did he get there? Getting a big

2:32:46 round at first, he will scurry on back.

2:32:49 Danger now for these tailgaters. One

2:32:51 out, runners on the corners. The

2:32:53 go-ahead run is coming up to the dish,

2:32:56 and he's going to have a golden helmet

2:32:58 on as Armani Henderson is going to run

2:33:00 at first. Now, Gideon Antell is going to

2:33:02 go back to the dugout. Who is our golden

2:33:04 batter for Mark Racco's squad here

2:33:06 tonight?

2:33:18 >> The Loco Beach Coconut's are invoking

2:33:21 the golden batter rule. Hitting in place

2:33:25 of Sal Giacobbe is your golden batter,

2:33:29 TANNER ALLEN.

2:33:31 >> [screaming]

2:33:34 >> WHO ELSE WOULD YOU WANT IN THE biggest

2:33:36 moment of the season at this point for

2:33:38 Loco Beach? Tanner Allen, former SEC

2:33:41 Player of the Year, national champion.

2:33:44 Hit a home run to dead center field

2:33:46 already in this game. A home run here

2:33:48 would immediately give the Nanners the

2:33:50 lead.

2:33:52 Runners on the corner, one away.

2:33:55 A plethora of different ways this could

2:33:57 play out.

2:33:58 TA

2:33:59 high in the sky, out to center. Indy

2:34:01 back in the ballgame in center hustling

2:34:03 in on it. He's going to power up for a

2:34:05 throw.

2:34:06 >> [cheering]

2:34:06 >> An absolute dart cut off by Jordan Bard

2:34:09 as JD Ursino stays put at third.

2:34:12 Nanners bats against the wall. And how

2:34:16 more poetic could it be? A Tailgater

2:34:18 from a year ago.

2:34:20 Brett Carson, the final hope tonight for

2:34:22 Loco Beach.

2:34:28 >> This week the Nanners practice

2:34:30 showdowns, Brett Carson was the guy who

2:34:31 looked the most consistent when the

2:34:33 lights were the brightest.

2:34:35 Now he gets a chance in the real thing.

2:34:40 >> The Tailgaters closer, closing pitcher

2:34:42 that is,

2:34:43 for much of 2025.

2:34:45 Facing the brand new closer in 2026,

2:34:47 Reese Miller.

2:34:51 BC, that one goes off of Reese Miller

2:34:54 into center field. We'll play the run.

2:34:57 Armani's going to go first to third. And

2:34:59 how bad luck is that? It's now the

2:35:02 game-tying run stands 90 ft away, and we

2:35:05 got a 4-3 ballgame.

2:35:07 >> Well, and how about this? The lineup

2:35:08 turns right back over for Tanner Allen,

2:35:10 who we just saw get a look against Reese

2:35:12 Miller. Miller got the last laugh the

2:35:14 first time, but it's not often in sports

2:35:17 you get a second stab at a guy this

2:35:19 quickly. Tanner Allen with a chance to

2:35:21 tie the game or even [music] more. Right

2:35:23 now, two outs, one point deficit. Here's

2:35:26 the ACC Player of the Year.

2:35:29 In a 4-3 ballgame.

2:35:31 Appeal. Oh, man.

2:35:34 TA just held up if he did on that one.

2:35:36 Reggie Ligons says that he did. A ball

2:35:39 and no strikes.

2:35:40 Pressure builds pressure and it also

2:35:42 makes diamonds. There's a diamond to be

2:35:44 had here.

2:35:46 Paz drops it.

2:35:48 Maybe it would have been a strike if he

2:35:49 corralled it.

2:35:50 Two and 0 now.

2:35:52 The ball for a strike

2:35:54 could potentially give the Coconut's the

2:35:56 lead, would definitely tie the ballgame.

2:36:03 TA!

2:36:04 BIG RIGHT FIELD!

2:36:05 >> [screaming]

2:36:06 >> TANNER ALLEN!

2:36:07 IT'S GONE!

2:36:10 TANNER ALLEN! Are you kidding?

2:36:14 With two outs in the ninth inning!

2:36:17 TA!

2:36:19 HIS second homer of the ballgame! It

2:36:21 gives THE COCONUT'S THE LEAD! THEY DON'T

2:36:24 call them the Comeback Coconut's for

2:36:27 nothing! WITH THEIR BACKS TO THE WALL in

2:36:30 the biggest moment, TANNER ALLEN hits

2:36:33 one ONTO THE BERM! IT'S A two-homer

2:36:36 night for TA and he has torn this thing

2:36:41 open! Four-point ninth inning for Loco

2:36:45 Beach AND THEY HAVE THE LEAD! Rex

2:36:48 Castillo IS FIELD SIDE.

2:36:50 >> TANNER, you got a second chance in that

2:36:52 inning. What did it feel like to get a

2:36:53 big fly like that?

2:36:55 >> Hey, first off,

2:36:56 that's one of the best hitters in the

2:36:57 league.

2:36:58 And uh he just made a mistake 2-0, man,

2:37:00 and I got him. How about that? But

2:37:01 that's a really cool feeling. Excited

2:37:03 for our team, so we got to get out there

2:37:04 in the bottom and shut the door and get

2:37:06 a win. How about that?

2:37:07 >> This is why we LOVE BANANAS BALL,

2:37:08 TANNER. EXCELLENT JOB, MY FRIEND. GUYS,

2:37:09 back up to you.

2:37:10 >> OH, THAT'S BABY. FLIP THE BAT IN

2:37:11 TERRELL'S HANDS.

2:37:12 >> AND TIED AT THE TOP of the Banana Ball

2:37:14 Championship League in home runs with

2:37:15 four.

2:37:17 You know he's tied with? Couple

2:37:18 Tailgaters, Jose Gonzales and Cal

2:37:20 Martin. This ball game ain't tied no

2:37:22 more. A four-run top of the night has

2:37:24 put the Coconuts ahead 6-4.

2:37:28 And after a hit by pitch to Ben Parker,

2:37:30 Dane Taufer now behind 0-2. Brad, I'd

2:37:33 say stop me if you've heard this before,

2:37:34 but you have. The Comeback Coconuts just

2:37:36 elevate their game in the ninth inning.

2:37:43 Dane Taufer

2:37:45 stays in the yard. Indiana Stanley has

2:37:48 it for out number three.

2:37:50 But not before Loco Beach plates four.

2:37:54 Three of those coming from one swing of

2:37:55 the bat.

2:37:56 Mississippi State's finest, Terrell

2:37:59 Tanner, out. And now the shoe is on the

2:38:02 other foot. Comeback Coconuts have

2:38:04 proven to live up to that name.

2:38:06 But how about these Tailgaters? They've

2:38:08 come back a few times this year as well.

2:38:10 Now trailing 6-4. They'll have sixth,

2:38:12 seventh, and eighth

2:38:14 against a guy we've already seen tonight

2:38:16 in CJ Williams in his second inning of

2:38:17 work.

2:38:18 >> The villain looks to be just that here

2:38:20 coming into the Lone Star State. This is

2:38:22 where Texas calls home. Amarillo holds

2:38:26 host to CJ Williams. The baddest man at

2:38:30 Loco Beach. Wears number zero because

2:38:32 that's how much

2:38:35 he cares about anyone's opinion of what

2:38:38 he's doing on the mound. CJ Williams is

2:38:40 a guy who works quickly, works

2:38:43 effectively, and is three outs away from

2:38:46 securing the Comeback Coconuts yet

2:38:48 another comeback victory. This Coconuts

2:38:51 team has four wins this season. Three

2:38:53 have been come-from-behind. None more

2:38:56 electric than this. And it's now up to

2:38:58 Williams who allowed the two runs in the

2:39:00 eighth inning to come out and not allow

2:39:02 that to happen here because his bats,

2:39:05 led by Tanner Allen, have forged quite

2:39:07 the comeback in a game Loco Beach had

2:39:10 not led until the ninth inning. A

2:39:12 three-run home run sets the stage for

2:39:14 the bottom of the ninth with CJ Williams

2:39:17 towing the rubber.

2:39:18 >> Now it's Mac Dan.

2:39:21 Right at Grand Richard Lord.

2:39:23 Has a ball four sprint on his resume

2:39:25 tonight.

2:39:26 Jose Gutierrez in his first Banana Ball

2:39:28 at bat hit in spot of Mac his last time

2:39:30 up and had a double.

2:39:34 CJ Williams has been able to find

2:39:36 vintage CJ Williams

2:39:37 in his past couple of outs.

2:39:41 Mac fouls it off.

2:39:43 Fans an opportunity

2:39:44 not to be.

2:39:45 I talked to CJ a lot. Talked to CJ three

2:39:48 times last two weeks. Said, "Brett, I'm

2:39:50 starting to feel like who I'm supposed

2:39:51 to be.

2:39:52 Starting to settle in the guy I was with

2:39:54 the Visalia. Starting to settle in the

2:39:55 guy I was at FSU."

2:39:56 He said, "The rest of the league doesn't

2:39:58 want that to happen."

2:39:59 He's a villain. He's a super villain.

2:40:02 He's Cruella de Vil.

2:40:04 He's Gru. He's whoever you want to say

2:40:06 he is. And he embraces that here in this

2:40:09 role for the Loco Beach Coconuts. He

2:40:11 wants you to hate him if you're not

2:40:13 pulling for the boys in teal.

2:40:15 And he lives for moments like these.

2:40:17 >> It's exactly the mindset you want from

2:40:19 your closer. If you're not with CJ

2:40:20 Williams, you're all the way against him

2:40:22 in his mind and he wants to shut you

2:40:23 down.

2:40:24 Trying to do that here against these

2:40:26 Tailgaters.

2:40:27 A ball and two.

2:40:30 Got him.

2:40:31 Two outs away

2:40:33 >> [cheering]

2:40:34 >> from a big big comeback victory to put

2:40:37 Loco Beach back in the right direction.

2:40:39 >> Filthy. We get another look at it. CJ

2:40:41 Williams ran away

2:40:43 from the barrel. Never a chance there

2:40:45 for Mac Danford. One down. Here comes

2:40:48 Todd Porter.

2:40:49 >> A quad final

2:40:51 with a single and thrown out at second

2:40:53 his last time.

2:40:57 Important to get a base runner on. We

2:40:59 saw what that did for Loco Beach getting

2:41:01 the lead off base run.

2:41:02 >> [music]

2:41:02 >> In route to four runs that count as

2:41:05 points here in the final frame of an

2:41:06 animal.

2:41:09 Taj swinging out of his shoes. Wants a

2:41:11 long ball here.

2:41:13 Tailgaters getting in the game to get

2:41:15 the equalizer point [music] tonight.

2:41:16 But, they couldn't negate the offense of

2:41:18 the Coconuts. The one and one.

2:41:20 Turns into ball and two strikes. The one

2:41:22 man who could was Brent Sandchew. After

2:41:24 he left the game with 10 strikeouts, the

2:41:26 Coconuts have scored eight straight

2:41:29 points.

2:41:30 Eight straight runs, I should say.

2:41:34 Ooh. Hector Gonzalez went to ring up Taj

2:41:38 Porter. And then just put up two [music]

2:41:40 and two.

2:41:41 I don't think as we winding up CJ

2:41:43 Williams as CJ takes a little extra time

2:41:45 there in between pitches. We're big fans

2:41:47 of that.

2:41:49 Didn't need TO RING HIM UP THAT TIME.

2:41:50 SWING AND A MISS. CJ Williams and the

2:41:52 boys from the beach are one out away

2:41:54 from stealing it.

2:41:55 >> And CJ Williams in his mind has to be

2:41:56 thinking that's my third strikeout this

2:41:58 inning cuz that pitch was a strike. I

2:42:00 don't know what happened behind the

2:42:01 plate, but then he said, "You know what?

2:42:02 I'm going to go ahead and make sure that

2:42:04 I get Taj Porter on the punchy." We are

2:42:06 an out away from the comeback Coconuts

2:42:09 doing it again.

2:42:10 >> Indiana Stanley.

2:42:12 The last hope

2:42:14 here for the boys from Texas here in

2:42:16 Texas.

2:42:21 Indy 0 for 2 tonight. Flown out twice.

2:42:24 Indy

2:42:25 out to left field.

2:42:27 How poetic would it be that Tanner

2:42:30 Allen makes the final out in a game

2:42:32 where he was the best player on the

2:42:33 field and Loco Beach wins it 6 to 4.

2:42:36 >> Tanner Allen and the Loco Beach Coconuts

2:42:39 are victorious in the series opener in

2:42:41 Amarillo. A two home run game and as you

2:42:44 put it best, what a poetic close. CJ

2:42:47 Williams locks things down in the ninth

2:42:49 with a 1-2-3 inning that featured a

2:42:51 couple of punch outs, but the story

2:42:53 tonight with two outs in the top of the

2:42:55 ninth inning, Tanner Allen, former ACC

2:42:58 player of the year, national champion,

2:43:00 comes to the plate with a second chance

2:43:02 against Reese Miller, and he left no

2:43:04 doubt. Loco Beach does it again. The

2:43:07 comeback Coconut advance to 5 and 7 on

2:43:10 the season and pick up a much-needed,

2:43:13 big-time win for the morale on the

2:43:15 beach, and all of a sudden it's all

2:43:17 smiles and margaritas with sand in

2:43:19 between my toes, Brett.

2:43:22 >> We got a lot to talk about here tonight.

2:43:25 But, I don't think we are going to have

2:43:26 a shortage of talking about Tanner

2:43:28 Allen. You know, that's a guy we plan to

2:43:30 mic [music] up at some point this

2:43:31 weekend.

2:43:32 And his story of coming to Savannah

2:43:34 Bananas, how we saw him last year in

2:43:36 Starkville, Mississippi. We had him as a

2:43:38 guest in the booth, Brek and I myself.

2:43:40 Got his phone number, and he said, "I

2:43:42 don't know if I'm in them.

2:43:44 I don't know if I want to continue

2:43:45 playing." You know, got burned out with

2:43:47 minor league baseball and all the things

2:43:49 that come with that. I mean, you can

2:43:50 talk to any of these guys that play

2:43:51 affiliated ball and how burned out that

2:43:53 can get you. It can turn you against the

2:43:54 game of baseball. And Tanner

2:43:56 thought about it.

2:43:57 Watched the games back and said, "I want

2:43:59 to do it." And Mark Krakeny

2:44:01 uses his first second round pick on

2:44:04 Tanner Allen.

2:44:06 And how poetic. It's nights like tonight

2:44:09 of why you wanted that guy here in

2:44:10 Savannah Bananas.

2:44:12 And

2:44:13 we could tell you who the showman is.

2:44:15 We could try to hide it from you.

2:44:18 Five RBI and two home runs, I think it's

2:44:20 pretty obvious who our showman of the

2:44:22 game is.

2:44:23 As at some point we'll go down and

2:44:25 obviously holler, "TA."

2:44:27 But just again,

2:44:29 when we look at that first-year player

2:44:30 drafts on a Banana Ball level

2:44:31 conversation,

2:44:33 it's guys like Jackie Bradley Jr. It's

2:44:35 guys like Kyle Martin. It's guys like

2:44:36 Tanner Allen that you insert into the

2:44:38 sport, and it makes this sport not only

2:44:41 the most entertaining sport in all of

2:44:43 the US, all of the world, I believe, but

2:44:45 it also

2:44:47 makes it the most entertaining

2:44:48 competitive sport in the entire world.

2:44:50 And Tanner Allen, who just blesses us

2:44:52 with his presence both in that

2:44:54 clubhouse, both in the party plaza, but

2:44:56 here tonight in between the lines

2:44:58 did that so, so well. Rex Castillo looks

2:45:01 like he's gathered him up.

2:45:04 And

2:45:05 looks like he has. The guy we've been

2:45:07 waxing poetically about. Rex, talk to

2:45:09 our main man, Tanner Allen.

2:45:10 >> It was one of those things that it was

2:45:11 an obvious choice here. Tanner Allen,

2:45:13 the showman of the game. Two home runs,

2:45:15 one of them completed the comeback. They

2:45:16 call you guys the comeback coconuts.

2:45:17 What's it about this team that you guys

2:45:19 are always in the

2:45:20 >> fight.

2:45:20 >> We're always in the fight. You know, it

2:45:21 says something about our team. The last

2:45:23 couple weekends, or last weekend

2:45:24 especially, I felt like we were there

2:45:25 right at the end. We just couldn't

2:45:25 finish. And tonight, man, they jumped on

2:45:27 us first, but it says something about

2:45:29 our team. We kept fighting and kept

2:45:30 fighting, putting good at bats together,

2:45:31 pitchers figuring things out, playing

2:45:32 solid defense. And you know, every night

2:45:35 to win a game somebody's going to make a

2:45:36 big swing, and tonight it was me. So,

2:45:37 I'm extremely blessed, man, and I'm just

2:45:38 more happy that I did something to help

2:45:40 this team win.

2:45:41 >> This team Yes, there were a lot of

2:45:42 reasons to doubt, but what is it about

2:45:44 you guys that you're always smiling,

2:45:45 always dancing, keeping the vibes going?

2:45:46 >> We're playing loose. We're Loco Beach,

2:45:47 baby. We're loose. We bring the vibes,

2:45:48 and we're never out of the game. You

2:45:50 know, that's one thing we talk about.

2:45:51 We're never out of the game. So, we got

2:45:52 to play one through nine, you know, and

2:45:54 just keep it stay together. Things are

2:45:56 not always going to go our way.

2:45:58 Momentum's going to go over there. We

2:45:59 got to get it back over here. And just

2:46:00 keep going. Never too high, never too

2:46:01 low. This guy struck me out, so I got a

2:46:03 bone to pick with him.

2:46:05 >> Brett didn't have one heck of a game.

2:46:07 >> I tip my hat to you, dog. You had it

2:46:08 tonight.

2:46:09 >> And a showman as well. But look, you're

2:46:11 playing with such a joy. You're smiling

2:46:12 from ear to ear again. I know sometimes

2:46:13 this game This game can be really,

2:46:15 really hard. But Banana Ball seems like

2:46:17 it's giving back that joy. How special

2:46:18 is that?

2:46:19 >> And I'm having a blast on the field. I'm

2:46:20 telling you right now, man, this or Pro

2:46:22 Bowl, that's not even a question. That's

2:46:23 no shot at Pro Bowl, but I'm having the

2:46:25 time of my life, and I'm truly, truly

2:46:26 thankful to be out here doing it. And

2:46:28 with my dog right here, too. It's fun.

2:46:29 >> players make big time plays in big time

2:46:31 games. Nobody better than TA.

2:46:32 >> Come on, baby.

2:46:33 >> Come on, now.

2:46:33 >> Real quick with the Banana Ball

2:46:34 backstage question. 7-year-old Bryson

2:46:36 wants to know, who's your favorite Major

2:46:37 League Baseball team?

2:46:38 >> Major League Baseball team? Atlanta

2:46:40 Braves.

2:46:41 >> Oh, it was an easy call.

2:46:42 >> Easy one. Easy one, got to roll nuts,

2:46:44 baby. How about that?

2:46:45 >> All he had to say. Guys, let's send it

2:46:47 back to you.

2:46:47 >> Go Braves, Tanner Allen. Go Braves

2:46:49 indeed. That's a great, great thing. He

2:46:51 just said it though and that was the

2:46:53 text that he sent me a few times as

2:46:54 Tanner Allen. This has brought his joy

2:46:56 of of of playing the game of baseball

2:46:58 here in Banana Ball back. Two home runs,

2:47:01 five RBI. One of the most special

2:47:02 performances we've seen this year in

2:47:03 this sport.

2:47:04 >> What really stood out to me in that

2:47:05 postgame interview, Brett, is he said

2:47:07 this is Loco Beach. This is who we are.

2:47:10 We play loose and we play with the

2:47:11 mentality that we're never out of a

2:47:13 game. That is what coach Crocco has

2:47:16 instilled in this team and the message

2:47:18 clearly rings true. It's yet another win

2:47:20 for the comeback Coconuts. This one

2:47:22 comes on a three run home run from

2:47:26 Tanner Allen. How about it? Five RBI,

2:47:28 two rain makers for TA and I mean, how

2:47:31 can you not have joy watching him play

2:47:33 this sport?

2:47:34 >> Trick plays, 11 to 7, just want to point

2:47:37 that out here on the line score in favor

2:47:39 of Texas tonight. Lot of hits, lot of

2:47:41 runs. There was a world where Loco Beach

2:47:43 could have got Banana Ball, but Tanner

2:47:45 Allen chose to hit that second home run

2:47:47 in the exact right spot there in the

2:47:49 ninth inning. What a blessing it's been

2:47:51 here in Amarillo, Texas. He's AJ

2:47:53 Swiatek, I'm Bret Loftis. We're so happy

2:47:56 you chose to join us here in Amarillo

2:47:58 with your Friday night. And now with

2:48:00 these three game weekends, I think this

2:48:02 is the macro level conversation AJ and I

2:48:04 now have postgame. You've just seen,

2:48:06 as respectfully as I can put it,

2:48:08 Tailgaters had a pitching blowup. And

2:48:10 and it's really unfortunate that

2:48:11 happened. Jimmy Lewis gave up the two

2:48:13 run tater to Tanner Allen. Reese Miller

2:48:15 gives up four including the three run

2:48:17 tater to Tanner Allen. The biggest point

2:48:20 of conversation, if you tune in with us

2:48:22 the next two days you'll hear it, the

2:48:23 biggest point of contention, no matter

2:48:25 you've going any of the six clubhouses,

2:48:26 how do we figure out arms over these

2:48:28 three games? Well, see what the Coconuts

2:48:31 did tonight. You went from Fauttno to

2:48:33 Archer to Williams. Period.

2:48:35 See what the Tailgaters did tonight.

2:48:37 They used six different arms. What is

2:48:39 the biggest storyline in your mind, AJ,

2:48:41 outside of that going into these next

2:48:43 two games?

2:48:43 >> Well, I mean, there's a lot to unpack

2:48:45 there, right? But for me, it is this. It

2:48:47 is the fact that Loco Beach has a

2:48:49 resounding mentality, and it rings at

2:48:52 every beach across the country. When you

2:48:54 look in your heart, you're going to find

2:48:56 love, you're going to find Loco Beach,

2:48:58 and you're going to find guys that are

2:48:59 ready and willing to compete. And you

2:49:02 look at the pitching match-up for

2:49:03 tomorrow, Austin Crispensky fits that to

2:49:05 a T. This is a guy who embraces what it

2:49:08 means to be a coconut. And what's it

2:49:09 mean to be a Loco Beach coconut? Well,

2:49:11 it means we're going to serve you, we're

2:49:13 going to love you, and we're going to

2:49:14 play hard from the first pitch to the

2:49:15 very last. Austin Crispensky has a tough

2:49:18 act to follow because this Loco Beach

2:49:20 pitching staff only needed three arms

2:49:22 after Fontenot was able to eat up four.

2:49:24 But now it's up to Chris to go

2:49:26 toe-to-toe with who has been the best

2:49:27 starting pitcher in this league.

2:49:28 >> Yeah, best starting pitcher in the sport

2:49:29 tomorrow, Chris Clark going to throw it

2:49:31 for the Texas Tailgaters. Earned the win

2:49:33 in the win over the Savannah Bananas

2:49:35 last Sunday in the Banana Ball Open, a

2:49:36 1.02 ERA, the best amongst all starting

2:49:39 pitchers in the Banana Ball Championship

2:49:41 League. Those are your starting pitchers

2:49:43 for tomorrow, Chris versus Clark here

2:49:45 from Amarillo, Texas. Same first pitch

2:49:48 time, 7:00 p.m. Central, 8:00 p.m.

2:49:51 Eastern. Be right here yet again on the

2:49:53 Tailgaters YouTube channel with two

2:49:55 teams who going into tomorrow will have

2:49:56 the same exact record at five and seven.

2:49:59 How poetic is that, right? That's what

2:50:00 you wanted the Banana Ball Open

2:50:01 tournament to do. You wanted it to give

2:50:03 you a team who could lock themselves in.

2:50:05 I don't want to use the word ghost

2:50:06 because foot's always on the gas, we're

2:50:07 always in the first inning here in

2:50:08 Banana Land. But the Tailgaters know

2:50:10 that tonight's loss didn't hurt you that

2:50:12 bad, but for the the Coconuts, tonight's

2:50:14 win did everything. As we'll take a look

2:50:17 at the schedule for tomorrow. Again, the

2:50:19 Bananas, their game one in New York was

2:50:22 pushed to tonight. They will have

2:50:23 tomorrow off and will play again Sunday.

2:50:25 So, the only two games of Banana Ball

2:50:26 tomorrow, Firefighters Clown, 7:00 p.m.

2:50:28 Eastern on the Firefighters YouTube

2:50:30 channel in Greenville, South Carolina at

2:50:32 beautiful Fluor Field. And then we'll be

2:50:33 right back here in Amarillo tomorrow

2:50:35 night, Tailgaters Coconuts right here,

2:50:37 8:00 Eastern Time, 7:00 Central on the

2:50:39 Tailgaters YouTube channel. AJ

2:50:43 You've told us everything there is about

2:50:44 what it's to be a Coconut, what it's

2:50:46 honor it, love it, all that good stuff.

2:50:48 We talked about Tanner Allen, talked

2:50:49 about the pitching tonight. Tomorrow

2:50:52 biggest keys in between the lines for

2:50:54 the Coconuts.

2:50:55 >> Absolutely. You got to keep the main

2:50:56 thing the main thing because you look at

2:50:58 tonight and it's really easy to get

2:50:59 caught up in the stars. The reality is

2:51:01 until the top of the ninth with two

2:51:03 outs, the Coconuts didn't have a lead.

2:51:05 This was a team that was playing from

2:51:06 behind and Texas' offense was really

2:51:09 clicking well. For me, you look at

2:51:10 tomorrow, if you want to make this a

2:51:12 repeatable formula, you want to go out

2:51:14 tomorrow and win again, you rely on what

2:51:17 worked today and that was studded

2:51:19 pitching. When things weren't going

2:51:21 right, I look back to Drake Fontenot for

2:51:23 instance, runners on second and third,

2:51:24 nobody away. He didn't look back. It was

2:51:26 all gas, no break. He was able to make

2:51:28 sure that that inning got shut down and

2:51:30 it was ultimately a difference maker.

2:51:31 So, you want your arms to go out there

2:51:33 with the ultimate confidence in

2:51:34 themselves and ready to go loco. It

2:51:37 happened tonight and again, the comeback

2:51:38 Coconuts picked up another win. It's got

2:51:40 me gleaming from ear to ear.

2:51:41 >> CJ Williams, I think we cannot glance

2:51:43 over him. Two innings, but able to come

2:51:45 in there again, did wash there in the

2:51:47 eighth, but able to come in and go three

2:51:48 up and three down there in the ninth to

2:51:51 earn the win tonight for the Loco Beach

2:51:53 Coconuts. Again, tomorrow, we will see

2:51:55 you tomorrow for Mohawk Mike, for my

2:51:57 main man Coach Backwoods, Keegan Woods,

2:51:59 our director back in Savannah, everyone

2:52:00 in Savannah, my lovely best friend AJ

2:52:02 Swiatek. I'm Brett Loftis selling you

2:52:04 until tomorrow night. Gator up.

2:52:06 >> Let's go loco, baby.

2:52:11 >> [music]

2:52:34 [music]

2:53:39 >> Hey.
