📝 Full transcript (3538 segments)
0:00 John and then what about this? The sixth
0:02 round pick Brett Donnie Allen with the
0:05 first tailgator trick play of a pitcher
0:08 in 2026 out there on the bump able to
0:10 throw a scoreless inning and then a
0:12 handspring off of the bump. The defense
0:15 would continue there as Princess JB
0:18 Jordan Barf Manning the hot corner still
0:20 at the dish. What do we got here? Oh
0:21 man, dive and grab behind the back
0:24 transfer book. the first trick play in
0:27 the young career of the August Stanana,
0:30 a standout in Jordan Bart. But then the
0:33 bats would inevitably come around as the
0:35 first home run of 2026 comes off the bat
0:38 of Travis Mano, the first home run in a
0:40 football stadium. And then he told us
0:41 how he felt.
0:44 >> You just hit a home run in front of
0:45 60,000 people. How do you feel?
0:48 >> Well, Brett, plain and simple, I'm the
0:50 best there ever is. I mean, I wake up in
0:52 the morning and I It's excellent. I'm
0:56 I'm a big hairy American winning
0:58 machine. If you ain't first or last,
1:04 >> bro. We went to Frisco and the Texas
1:07 Tailgator finally unveiled their
1:10 official [music]
1:10 mascot, the cowboy wearing big old green
1:14 alligator himself [music]
1:16 who's gonna steal every piece of meat
1:19 that you have at your tailgate. Grub
1:21 [music] the Gator. And that weekend in
1:23 Frisco was special because then we
1:26 played the Loco Beach Coconuts and our
1:28 captain does this Fiverr. Jordan
1:30 Hussein, the Texas kid, a diving grab as
1:34 the tailgator would be tied up all at
1:36 two apiece. And Fiverr out there making
1:39 web gyms just as he does so very, very,
1:41 very often for the boys in blue and
1:44 orange. And then golden batter, Eric
1:46 Osberg.
1:48 Magic can't happen twice, but Jordan
1:50 Hussein can. And then after the
1:53 defensive prows, trailing by one point,
1:56 going to the bottom of the ninth, who do
1:57 the tailgator call?
1:58 >> The tailgator golden batter, Kyle K.
2:03 Mart.
2:06 Who else would you want in the biggest
2:08 moment [music] to this point of the
2:09 tailgator season? Down by one point in
2:12 the bottom of the ninth. Backs against
2:14 the wall against CJ Williams.
2:17 One and0.
2:19 Big on big
2:23 Tar out to left field. TA going back at
2:27 the fence. It's gone. It's gone. It's
2:31 gone. Kyle Martin's first home run in
2:34 the sport ties [cheering] us up at three
2:36 apiece. else would you rather be
2:40 [cheering]
2:45 [cheering]
2:47 an oppo taco.
2:50 The first third run CJ Williams has ever
2:53 conceded.
2:55 This is banana ball. The moment never
3:00 too big in the ninth, but what about in
3:02 showdowns? CJ Williams, Nick Lopez.
3:06 Bottom of round number one. How would it
3:08 end?
3:11 LOPEI OVER THE HEAD OF GIDEON ANTEL.
3:13 [screaming] It's going to roll for a
3:15 while. GIDEON'S GOT GOOD WHEELS. Get on
3:18 your horse, Lope. Get on your horse.
3:21 Antel finally gets to it. Lie's on third
3:24 and 80. Great arm. Sells over the head.
3:27 Tailgators win. Tailgators win.
3:29 Tailgators win. Nick Lopez walks it off
3:33 board for a three and we are so back in
3:35 the Lone Star State.
3:39 >> After going four and four over their
3:41 final eight games heading into the
3:43 Banana Ball Open, something caught fire
3:47 within the Texas [music] Tailgator and
3:48 specifically their 33-year-old superstar
3:51 Kyle Martin in game one against the fire
3:54 >> here for the Texas Tailgator. And Kmart
3:56 sends what? Deep center field. Kmart
4:00 with another long ball. Welcome to the
4:02 action here in the Banana Ball Open.
4:06 >> First of two home runs for Kmart in the
4:08 open. And then Sunshine provided us the
4:10 play of the year.
4:11 >> Mason Maxwell hard hit Sunn. HE TYPES
4:14 OUT TRICK PLAY. OH, it's a double trick
4:17 play. Is that the play of the year?
4:20 Jonathan Sunshine Loaders lays out
4:23 between the legs bucket. Throws it to
4:25 first. Tyler Justice between the legs
4:28 bucket.
4:29 That was psychotic. This is bananable.
4:34 >> And from arguably the play of the year
4:36 to the play that helped win the
4:38 tailgator the equalizer point and win
4:41 the ball game on Friday night.
4:42 >> McDow over to J5 between the legs and
4:46 it's the equalizer point for the
4:48 tailgator. Double trick play. Book it.
4:51 Book it. And just like that, the Texas
4:54 Tailgator off the backs of the Texas kid
4:57 and Taylor Justice win the equalizer
5:00 point is vitally important. With a win
5:03 on Friday night against the
5:04 Firefighters, the Tailgator faced off in
5:06 game one of the Banana Ball Open
5:08 Championship against those Savannah
5:10 Bananas. And how about a start [music]
5:11 to it from Jordan Hussein. A little
5:14 booket there on a 6463
5:17 double play. You have never seen [music]
5:19 anything like that in your entire life.
5:21 And then we hadn't seen this yet this
5:23 year either. Jordan Bart hits his first
5:25 home run in his banana ball career in
5:28 route to putting the Tailgator up two
5:30 points to none there in the third
5:33 inning. Feeling really good about those
5:35 boys in blue and orange. Now let's feel
5:36 a little bit better. Eighth inning, need
5:38 three trick plays to win the equalizer
5:40 point. Book it. That is now 13 to 12 in
5:44 the trick play category. Bouncer Taylor
5:46 Justice. Tough play. Joe Peron loses the
5:48 cowboy hat. Book it yet again. 13 trick
5:51 plays a piece to get the final out of
5:52 the inning. Taylor Justice bounces it
5:55 off the turf like LaMelo. And that's how
5:56 the Tailgators win the equalizer point.
5:59 And then here's how they won the ball
6:01 game with the game on the line.
6:06 HIGHF FLY BALL [cheering] DEEP OUT TO
6:08 RIGHT CENTER FIELD. WATSON ON HIS HORSE.
6:10 HE DOESN'T GET THERE AS IT BANGS OFF THE
6:12 [cheering] WALL. TY JACKSON WILL SCORE
6:14 EASILY. Over looking FOR THREE BASES.
6:17 [cheering]
6:18 HE'S OUT. PERFECT RELAY BY JORDAN
6:20 HUSSEIN. FANTASTIC deep by Jordan Bar.
6:24 AND THE TAILGATOR HANG ON 3-2 WINNERS.
6:27 WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT that Jordan
6:29 Jordan connection and THE TEXAS
6:31 TAILGATOR COME IN HERE [screaming] AND
6:33 upset the namesake of the SPORT TO WIN
6:36 GAME one of the first ever banana ball
6:40 open.
6:40 >> From a game one victory to winning the
6:42 whole thing the very next day. ers
6:45 putting this in the hands of their
6:47 allstar from a season ago in Nick Lopez.
6:50 The O2
6:52 THAT'S HIT WELL DEEP OUT TO LEFT. ALEXI
6:55 IS ON HIS HORSE. [cheering]
6:58 It settles ON THE WARNING TRACK. LOPEZ
7:00 AROUND SECOND.
7:02 Reese gets to the ball. Lopez around
7:04 third.
7:06 Now relay. Nick Lopez clinches a playoff
7:10 spot for the Texas Tailgator.
7:13 And the boys in blue and orange are
7:16 going to not get a playoff spot six
7:18 points early.
7:20 Nate Lopez, the man who won all the
7:24 showdowns last year for the tailgator,
7:26 comes up in the biggest spot of his
7:29 career. We'll see you in October. We
7:32 just never gave up, man. You in the
7:34 locker room, we're talking we're going
7:35 to beat these [music] guys. They got us
7:37 last year and the first couple games
7:39 this year, but we never gave up. That's
7:41 the difference. And from one historic
7:43 moment to another, the first ever popup
7:45 game in Banana Ball history at Navasota
7:47 High School in front of a thousand
7:49 people. The Texas Tailgator Savannah
7:50 Bananas and Kyle Markin welcomes you to
7:54 the auction as he hits a two-run blast
7:56 in the first inning that walks it off
7:58 for the Texas Tailgator, putting them up
8:00 one to nothing. What about Jonathan
8:02 Sunshine Lures, the inventor of the foot
8:05 volley? 1 2 3 4 5 6 seven times Sunny
8:11 goes off the legs and the feet to give
8:13 you a trick play that you've never seen
8:15 before. Hopefully you'll see it again,
8:17 but you will never ever ever forget it.
8:21 Sunny does that and then his counterpart
8:23 up the middle does this. Jordan Hussein,
8:26 the captain of the Texas Tailgator, a
8:29 behind the back book it as the 10th
8:32 trick play of the night. And while on
8:34 the microphone too, Jordan Hussein pulls
8:36 out a special one to end the ball game.
8:38 The team who's just so trickery and the
8:40 tailgator gets their 15th and final
8:42 trick play to defeat the Savannah
8:44 Bananas 5 to nothing at Navasota High
8:46 School in Banana Ball's first ever popup
8:48 game. From history to history Saturday,
8:51 the biggest banana ball game ever.
8:53 102,000 people. Chris Clark strikes out
8:56 dude perfect Tyler Tony at Kyle Field on
8:59 the campus of Texas A&M in the top of
9:02 the second inning to conclude matters.
9:03 What a special moment that was for CC
9:06 and those boys in blue and orange.
9:10 And then Jordan Hussein
9:12 ball for a sprint. Typical ball for a
9:15 sprint you'd think. No. Throw cells in
9:17 the outfield. Fiverrs made it to second.
9:19 He's getting to third. Aaron throw comes
9:21 back in the infield. Where's Jordan
9:23 Hussein going? He's going home and home
9:26 now Fiverr. That would end up putting
9:28 the Tailgator in a spot to go up four to
9:29 nothing and then to try and win the ball
9:32 game.
9:32 >> Tailgator winning the banana ball
9:34 opening clutch in a playoff spot 6
9:35 months early.
9:37 >> Highfly ball STRAIGHT AWAY. JOSE
9:40 GONZALEZ JR. The Texas kid PUTS IT AWAY
9:44 AND THE TAILGATOR WIN THE BIGGEST BANANA
9:46 BALL GAME OF ALL TIME. THEY HOLD ON FOR
9:49 THREE WINNERS. IF YOU'RE going to come
9:51 to Texas and you're going to come at THE
9:54 KING OF TEXAS, YOU BETTER not miss. For
9:57 the first time ever, the Texas Tailgator
10:00 HAVE SWEPT THE SAVANNAH BANANAS HERE IN
10:03 THE LONE STAR STATE, WINNING the
10:05 smallest banana ball game of all time
10:07 and the biggest banana ball game of all
10:09 time IN THE SAME WEEKEND here in East
10:12 Central Texas.
10:13 >> From College Station, Texas to Tulsa,
10:17 Oklahoma. Monique Wilson, Taylor
10:20 Justice,
10:21 and it messes up.
10:24 Jacob Pepper can walk home. IT'S THE
10:27 FIRST EVER HEADLINER FOR THE TEXAS
10:29 TAILGATOR in Oklahoma.
10:32 Is a walk-off for Taylor Justice.
10:36 Eight of them in 2026.
10:39 AND THE TAILGATOR ARE BACK OVER 500 AT 9
10:42 AND EIGHT.
10:55 Back in the saddle for game two of
10:57 Banana Ball here in the boot making
10:59 capital of the world, El Paso, Texas. A
11:03 night ago, the firefighters [music] and
11:04 the Texas tailgator found themselves
11:06 right in the middle. One of the best
11:08 pitching duels we've seen in 2026 with
11:11 the boys in blow and orange winning the
11:12 standoff two to one on the backs of
11:15 rookie superstars Kyle Martin and Chris
11:17 Clark. Tonight, the firefighters throw
11:19 [music] their ace Jared Donaldson while
11:21 the Gator roll out the best southpaw on
11:23 either side of the Mississippi Christian
11:26 Dates. Come on in and stay a while.
11:32 I'm Brett Loftess. We're blessed to have
11:34 you here on your wonderful Saturday
11:36 evening wherever you're watching us here
11:38 in tailgator virtual tailgator land.
11:41 Last night two to one Zag great great
11:44 great ball game. I really think it was
11:46 the epitome of tailgator ball if you
11:48 will. Kyle Martin Yaya Chris Clark
11:50 shoves. Reese Miller shoves to get his
11:52 sixth save of the year and the
11:54 trickeration from the Texas Tailgator.
11:57 How do the firefighters come back from
11:58 that and do what they've done in every
12:00 single twoame series in winning game two
12:02 against the Texas Tailgator? Yeah,
12:03 that's right, Brett. Dispatch to El
12:05 Paso. The mission is clear. It is game
12:07 two where the firefighters have been
12:08 spotless against the Texas Tailgator.
12:10 Series finales. The firefighters really
12:12 seem to bring their agame. They're six
12:14 and two in the final games of series
12:16 here in the World Tour, but they're
12:18 going to have to figure out Christian
12:19 Davis, who they have not been able to
12:21 figure out very much in their three
12:23 starts against him.
12:23 >> Yeah, we'll go over CD stats in a little
12:25 bit. However, there was other banana
12:27 ball games I'm hearing that went on last
12:29 night in Savannah and also in
12:31 Indianapolis. Let's take a look at how
12:34 that game in Savannah at historic
12:35 Grayson Stadium ended last night between
12:37 those Coconuts and those Savannah
12:39 Bananas.
12:42 >> There's no harder team to beat in this
12:44 sport than the Savannah Bananas. Their
12:45 inaugural season, they're an hour away
12:47 from doing it. Vidings throw down to
12:49 second is not in time. Are the fans
12:53 GOING TO CHALLENGE? THEY ARE. We have a
12:56 fan challenge
12:58 in the ninth inning. If this has
13:00 overturned its game. Oh my goodness.
13:04 >> So hard to tell. I mean, you've got on
13:05 that first angle Jacoba's leg blocking
13:08 where Socal's hand comes in.
13:12 Are the fans going to win the Coconuts
13:14 this game? I mean, this is tight, Josh.
13:17 There's a real part of me that thinks
13:19 the fans are about to help the Coconuts
13:20 beat the Bananas for the first time in
13:22 their franchise's history. This is the
13:24 first time in the history of Loco Beach
13:26 that a fan challenge has been used in
13:27 their favor. It's only win the game for
13:32 the local beach. The fans have won the
13:36 game for the local beach.
13:39 His fans first by every definition of
13:42 the phrase.
13:45 >> What a crazy end of that ball game. We
13:47 had a fan challenge initiated here last
13:49 night as well. And that's rule number 10
13:51 in the lovely 11 that exists in the
13:53 banana ball rules pregame. Very simple.
13:57 You crown one of our great patrons, our
13:59 fans here at our banana ball games as
14:01 the fan challenge representative here at
14:04 our tailgator headliner series. I'm
14:06 blessed to be able to do that with the
14:07 winner of the tailgator gauntlet. What
14:09 can teams and fans challenge is pretty
14:11 simple. Fair or foul balls, force and
14:14 tag play calls, [music] missed base
14:15 calls, and catch plays in the field or
14:19 in the stands because obviously fans can
14:22 catch foul balls resulting in outs.
14:24 Teams and fans may not challenge those
14:26 three out of baseline calls, check swing
14:28 calls, and obstruction calls. Mentioned
14:32 that we could challenge
14:34 fan call foul balls.
14:38 However, last night what we seen
14:40 challenged here in El Paso was a fair,
14:43 excuse me, was a safe or out call. In
14:46 all reality, it was really an
14:48 obstruction challenge. Zach is, you'll
14:50 see this here. Jordan Bar gets it to
14:52 right field. Great throw from Darren
14:54 McDow. Eric Jones Jr. blocking the
14:56 plate. [music] Clearly gets the tag on
14:58 Nick Lopez. That's obstruction, but not
15:01 able to be challenged.
15:03 >> Correct. And the fans pop [snorts] the
15:05 cork on the fan challenge. They don't
15:07 know that in the moment that you can't
15:09 challenge it. Obviously, it's the
15:10 emotion there. So, really, you couldn't
15:12 reverse it. Even if you thought it was
15:14 obvious obstruction, it call has to
15:16 stand on what they called on the field.
15:18 And now, the lovely 11 rules of our
15:20 sport. Let's throw it to our owner and
15:22 creator of Banana Ball, Jesse Cole.
15:27 >> Banana Ball is the fastest and most
15:29 entertaining show in sports. And the 11
15:32 rules guarantee the most fans first
15:34 experience every second.
15:36 >> Unbelievable.
15:37 >> Welcome to THE BANANA BALL CHAMPIONSHIP
15:39 LEAGUE.
15:40 >> Rule number one, win the inning, win the
15:42 point. The team that [music] scores the
15:44 most runs in an inning wins the point.
15:46 IT'S A WALK OFF WINNER to the deepest
15:49 pole [cheering] field. OH MY GOODNESS.
15:51 >> With the equalizer point, trick plays
15:54 provide the away team an opportunity to
15:56 earn a point going into the final
15:57 inning. And in the final inning, every
16:00 run counts as a point. Rule number two,
16:03 banana ball has a 2hour time limit,
16:05 guaranteeing that every game is
16:08 fast-paced and action-packed. Rule
16:10 number three, no stepping out of the
16:12 batter's box. If you do, it will result
16:14 in a strike. stepped out of the box and
16:17 because he stepped out of the box,
16:18 that's it.
16:19 >> Rule number four, no bunting. [music]
16:21 Cuz bunting sucks. If you bunt, you'll
16:24 be thrown out of the game. Rule number
16:26 five, batters can steal first base.
16:28 >> Ball three, CAN YOU TAKE IT OFF FOR
16:30 FIRST THROW FROM LAROY IN TIME.
16:33 >> Rule number six, there's [music] no
16:35 walks. Walks are ball force sprints. The
16:38 batter can advance as far as they want
16:40 until every position player touches the
16:42 ball. NO DEFENDERS HAVE TOUCHED the
16:45 banana ball. IT IS A FOUR BASE SPREAD TO
16:48 open up the ball game.
16:49 >> Rule number seven,
16:51 >> no mound visits.
16:53 >> Nope. Rule number eight, foul balls
16:55 [music] caught by a fan count as an out.
16:58 >> Oh my goodness, they did. They kept
17:01 going on the clock. We're going to show
17:03 [cheering]
17:04 >> rule number nine, the showdowns. In
17:07 showdowns, the best of the best [music]
17:09 face off in the biggest moment. One
17:11 hitter verse one pitcher with one
17:13 fielder behind him and the hitter has to
17:16 score deep to right center. See you
17:19 later. Rule number 10, the banana ball
17:22 challenge rule gives the coaches and you
17:25 the fans a chance to impact a call on
17:27 the field. [cheering]
17:29 Rule number 11, the golden batter. Once
17:32 a game, each team can give any player in
17:34 a bat regardless of the lineup. This
17:36 offers the biggest matchups on the
17:38 [music] biggest stage. Big on big gamer.
17:42 Let's go. Let's go. Let's go.
17:45 >> Get out of here ball. THAT THING HAD A
17:48 FAMILY.
17:50 And those are the rules of banana ball.
17:58 And last night here in El Paso, the
18:01 firefighters got a run on the board and
18:04 then a trick play from Jordan Hussein,
18:06 [music] the first of the night. And then
18:08 the auction welcomed you back to El
18:10 Paso. Kyle Martin hit his [music] ninth
18:12 home run, leading the Banana Ball
18:13 Championship League in that category,
18:16 giving the Tailgator a one to nothing
18:17 lead. Jose Brother Gonzalez, welcome
18:19 back to Texas as well. The Houston
18:21 native puts the Tailgator up two to
18:23 nothing with a walk-off RBI double there
18:25 in the second inning. Absolutely
18:29 incredible. And then Mr. Chris Clark,
18:32 the real story last night, the showman
18:34 of the game. Five strikeouts, two trick
18:37 plays. He had the first of which you're
18:38 seeing right now and induced nine of
18:41 them behind him. He was exceptional
18:44 which he has been all year. Arguably the
18:46 best starting pitcher in the entire
18:48 league. The third overall pick in the
18:49 inaigro banana ball player draft. This
18:52 the first of the night first at bat of
18:55 the night I should say for the tailgator
18:56 resulted in a fan caught foul ball.
18:59 >> Yeah, it was fun. It's the third time in
19:01 the last four games that the
19:02 firefighters have had a fan-cod foul
19:04 ball after not having one in 16 games.
19:07 And Darren McDow gets himself an RBI
19:09 ball for sprint in El Paso. And Brett
19:11 seemed like the firefighters at that
19:13 point sort of turned the [music] mojo
19:14 around as Taj Porter grounds out to
19:16 Mason Maxwell with a trick play. They
19:18 get their [music] first points. That
19:19 ended up being the only point.
19:21 >> Yeah, it was a lone point they scored
19:23 last night. Mr. Dude wipe stank stank.
19:26 Got a little thank you. Thank you. Thank
19:27 you. And then Reese Miller comes in the
19:30 ball game and shows everybody that it
19:32 was Miller time as he shut the door for
19:35 his sixth save of the year. Showing of
19:37 that ball game last night. It was the
19:39 ace. Mr. Chris Clark rolling the dice
19:42 all night long. You see it there. Had a
19:44 couple innings under two minutes. Had a
19:46 minute and 35second inning. The quickest
19:48 of any pitcher last night. Only gave up
19:50 four hits, five strikeouts, and induced
19:52 nine trick plays behind him. Two to one
19:55 here. The Tailgator game one and pass.
19:58 But a very historic night that happened
20:00 as the Indianapolis Clowns returned back
20:02 to the great city of Indianapolis.
20:04 Victory Field, the site of the party
20:07 animals and Indianapolis Clowns where so
20:10 many first happened, but not the least
20:12 of which the first time the Clowns are
20:14 the headlining home team back in their
20:16 host city. What a special night full of
20:19 emotions that we [music] saw in Indiana
20:21 returning to the home city, the home
20:23 state.
20:26 a look through history and a glimpse
20:28 into [music] the future of not just the
20:31 Indianapolis Clowns, but Banana Ball as
20:34 well. You see him running out into the
20:36 field in what was an emotional scene in
20:40 Indianapolis. And then once it got
20:41 going, well, you [music] talked about
20:42 Chris Clark shoving. How about Garrett
20:44 Deleno for the party animals? Strikeouts
20:47 galore. Nine of them to be exact. That's
20:50 a career hybrid.
20:51 >> All first six outs he recorded were all
20:53 [music] be a strikeout. Matt Wolf,
20:55 former friend of the program here with
20:57 the firefighters, gets Jake Skull to hit
20:59 one down the left field line. Brian
21:01 Dancero, hello. Good afternoon, good
21:03 evening. Great play out there in the top
21:05 of the fifth. And then how about this?
21:07 The official mascot of the Indianapolis
21:09 Clowns, Peanuts, the world's only
21:12 pitching elephant, and he gets Babis to
21:14 ground out to conclude matters in the
21:16 top of the sixth. So we've got Peanuts,
21:18 we've got Peanut, and we've got Nut for
21:20 the Loco Beach Coconuts. And we've got a
21:21 walk-off homer for Carell Prime. It's
21:24 the first walk-off homer as the home
21:26 team for the Clowns in their history.
21:28 Look at him just boot scooting on home
21:30 as the Clowns pull it back to 3-2. But
21:33 the Party Animals get three in the top
21:34 of the ninth and Joe Lidle can't keep
21:37 him in [music] this one. The Party
21:38 Animals spoil the red of the hosting
21:42 Indianapolis Clowns. Final score 6-2 as
21:44 Peter Holden takes a bow. The showman of
21:46 the night couldn't be anybody else other
21:48 than yet another pitcher in Garrett
21:49 Deleno. We told you earlier, nine
21:51 strikeouts, a careerhigh. [music]
21:53 And boy, Brett, he seems to have found
21:55 his mojo again. After a really rough
21:57 start before the banana ball open, he
21:59 got the showman of the night in Atlanta.
22:00 He gets another showman in Indianapolis
22:03 after four and a third.
22:04 >> Post open, man. Garrett Deleno that
22:06 people are going to tell their children
22:07 about this dude. He has been
22:08 exceptional. You've seen what he did
22:10 before the open. He was leading the
22:12 league in ball four sprints. after the
22:14 open. He is fourth in strikeouts behind
22:18 Christian Davis or excuse me, not
22:19 Christian Davis, behind Chris Clark,
22:21 Brett Sanchez, and Jared Donaldson. So,
22:23 he's been absolutely exceptional. Only
22:25 issued out one sprint, only one inning
22:27 that he gave up a walk-off in as well.
22:30 That leads us to now what do the
22:32 standings look like in our great sport
22:34 of banana ball. Obviously, those
22:36 Savannah Bananas still at top and still
22:39 sitting up there by themselves in first
22:41 place. deliver the Texas Tailgator
22:44 slowly creeping up. Two games behind the
22:46 yellow. The firefighters a game behind
22:48 the tailgator and the Coconuts currently
22:50 tied with the firefighters and the
22:53 Coconuts, excuse me, tied with the
22:54 firefighters, I should say, because both
22:56 teams have a 500 winning percentage
22:58 despite the Coconuts playing two more
23:00 games. Party Animals game behind just
23:03 below that cutoff line. And as you see
23:05 the X next to the Tailgators, they've
23:07 already clinched their spot in the
23:10 inaugural Banana Bowl Championship
23:12 League playoffs by winning the Banana
23:14 Bowl opening. And I will remind you of
23:15 that any opportunity I get. However, big
23:19 night for the firefighters tonight.
23:22 >> Speaking of big nights, last one, a huge
23:25 one for the auction. For more on that,
23:28 earlier today, our good friend Michael
23:29 Schwarz caught up with Kyle Martin.
23:34 Hey guys. Well, the star last night,
23:36 Kyle Martin. Kmart, [music] you played
23:38 games here. You said to me in the dugout
23:41 after that run. Does it Does it get any
23:45 better than this? A standing ovation
23:47 from this Chihuahua crowd. Does it get
23:50 any better than that?
23:51 >> Not at all. Um it's it was a special
23:54 moment. You can't write that stuff. You
23:56 can't script that. That was just
23:58 unbelievable, you know. um to have the
24:00 fans uh support in that moment was was
24:04 pretty spectacular.
24:06 >> Just get over here. Yeah. Thank you. Um
24:09 you are actually writing a letter to the
24:11 fans here uh in El Paso. What are you
24:14 going to talk about to them to to thank
24:16 them?
24:17 >> Um I'm going to thank especially thank
24:19 them for my time here. Um they welcomed
24:22 me in with open arms. Um I felt like
24:25 family here. It was easy to come into a
24:27 place I didn't know and
24:29 um feel special, feel seen, and feel
24:33 valued even more. Um so I just want to
24:36 always thank them for that and make sure
24:37 they know my appreciation for all of it.
24:39 >> It was a nice trim of your career here
24:42 in El Paso, but uh you got a lot more
24:44 ball to play. We got game two coming up.
24:46 I don't know what's going on here. CD on
24:48 the mound. I know he's been inspired by
24:49 Chris Clark. Uh but tailgators game two.
24:53 Do I have anything on my face, by the
24:54 way?
24:54 >> Uh you just got a little bit right here.
24:57 >> I'll [music] get that. You go do your
24:59 thing. Kmart, welcome back home to El
25:01 Paso and uh keep it up.
25:03 >> Of course. Thank you, man.
25:08 >> Michael Schwarz now with an uneven
25:10 handlebar mustache. Thank you, Chris
25:12 Clark. That is not going to be a key to
25:14 success. How the tailgators could win
25:16 [laughter] tonight. But these are Sweepy
25:19 Sweepy. Washiwashy Sweepy Sweepy. If
25:21 you're on the banana ball,
25:23 >> banana landed sea.
25:24 >> Banana landed sea. Everything's banana
25:26 ball. If you're on that big boat with
25:28 us, you heard washy washy enough sweepy
25:30 sweepy tonight. Tailgator could earn
25:32 their first ever sweep over the
25:34 firefighters. And my favorite CD,
25:36 Christian Davis has a career 27 erra in
25:39 10 career innings against the
25:41 firefighters. That's in the regular
25:42 season. Has earned seven points and only
25:44 lost two of them. Firefighters though,
25:46 Zack, we know that offense didn't get
25:48 really started last night, but if it
25:50 could tonight, big way that they could
25:51 get on the board early and never
25:52 relinquish it.
25:53 >> Yep. You've got to start on fire because
25:55 they have gotten behind in 10 first
25:58 innings this year. They've surrendered a
25:59 first inning point 10 times this year.
26:02 Got to clean that up. If you can get a
26:03 clean bottom half along with something
26:05 at the top, boy, that's something you
26:07 could build off of. And the firefighters
26:08 desperately need to do that after last
26:10 night where they had a one- nothing lead
26:12 in the top half of the inning and let it
26:13 go in the bottom half. And then bring it
26:15 on home to me Brett Loftess.
26:17 Firefighters are batting 414 with
26:20 runners in scoring position. And that is
26:21 far and away the best average in the BA
26:24 Banana Ball Championship League with
26:26 runners in scoring position. Get runners
26:28 at second and third and bring them on
26:30 home. Put pressure on these Texas
26:32 tailgators. We saw it last night. That
26:34 equalizer point was negated quick, fast,
26:36 and in a hurry. Do everything you can to
26:39 reput the pressure back on them with a
26:41 bunch of runs in the top half of the
26:42 frame.
26:43 >> Those are the keys to success tonight
26:47 for the firefighters and the Texas
26:49 Tailgator. this tail
26:51 >> here in the land that is the boot
26:53 capital of the world. The boot making
26:55 capital of the world, if you will. Zack
26:58 Stton did not wear his boots.
26:59 >> Sorry.
27:00 >> Very disappointed in you. You know who
27:02 did wear his boots? My good friend, the
27:05 most sparkly man, the best dressed man
27:09 in maybe the history of El Paso, Texas.
27:12 And he's here to hype you up. Let's send
27:14 it down to the field to my good pal and
27:16 my roommate, Garrett Rhinestone Lamper.
27:28 Ladies, ladies, gentlemen, boys and
27:31 girls, and parking lot party people from
27:35 around
27:39 the world.
27:42 Tonight, you and thousands of your
27:45 friends here live. Millions more
27:47 watching at home have gathered to
27:50 witness something that frat boys [music]
27:52 across the country could only ever dream
27:54 of. From parking lots to 80oot yachts,
28:00 from backyard grills to a stadium that
28:02 thrills, the pregamers come from every
28:05 corner of the globe to witness this.
28:09 But this is not baseball. No, this is
28:12 the arena where these Texas twostep in
28:16 tradition upset and big hit getting ball
28:19 players await the opening of the gate to
28:22 deliver a Texas size beatd down to
28:25 whoever lines up across from them. And
28:27 tonight, ladies and gentlemen,
28:30 well, it looks like the [music]
28:31 firefighters are about to find out why
28:35 you don't mess with Texas.
28:42 But this is not your granddad's pastime.
28:45 This is not just another night at the
28:47 ballpark. No, this game is baseball by
28:49 birth, but it's fruit by name and an
28:52 absolute worldwide phenomenon by the
28:56 grace of God. So now is the time for all
29:02 10,000 [screaming]
29:05 people here in El Paso, TEXAS TO GET UP
29:10 ON your feet and give me your voices
29:16 [cheering]
29:18 because THIS IS THE GREATEST PREGAME IN
29:21 SPORTS AND IT NEVER ENDS. LADIES AND
29:23 GENTLEMEN, THIS IS Banana Ball
29:29 [cheering]
29:33 live [cheering]
29:34 starting lineup from THE PSMR
29:38 IN LEFT FIELD. Number two, Zack Watson.
29:51 >> THE DESIGNATED HITTER number nine, Nick
29:55 [screaming] Lopez.
30:05 In right field, number 27, a former
30:09 Chihuahua, Kyle [screaming]
30:12 Martin.
30:21 >> At third base, number six, Charles.
30:27 [screaming]
30:31 >> [music]
30:35 >> At first base, number 85, Taylor
30:40 Justice. [screaming]
30:50 The extra hitter number 28, BROTHER
30:54 [screaming]
30:54 JOSE
31:00 [cheering]
31:06 >> behind the plated catcher number 26, TAJ
31:11 THE QUAD FATHER PORTER. [screaming]
31:23 At second base, number three, JASON,
31:27 [screaming]
31:35 >> THE DESIGNATED FIELDER, NUMBER ONE,
31:39 Jonathan Sunshine
31:42 Luners.
31:45 Get ready.
31:50 [music]
31:52 >> In center field, number seven, Indiana
31:56 [screaming]
31:57 Stanley.
32:08 >> That's shortstop NUMBER FIVE, JORDAN.
32:22 >> [cheering]
32:23 >> The starting pitcher NUMBER 12,
32:26 Christian
32:28 Davis [screaming]
32:39 and leading the party, the head coach,
32:43 Joe Mol.
32:45 assisted by coach Penny and coach Andrew
32:50 father
32:51 of the tailgate for me. [screaming]
33:06 >> [music]
33:13 >> Ladies and gentlemen, at this time we
33:15 ask that you please rise if able. Remove
33:18 your caps and join us in honoring
33:20 America with the singing of tonight's
33:22 national anthem. Please welcome to the
33:25 field Kate Watson.
33:29 Oh, say can you see
33:33 by the dawn early light
33:38 what so proudly
33:40 we [singing] held
33:42 at the twilight last gleaming who's
33:47 broad stripes and bright stars [singing]
33:51 through the perilous
33:53 fight
33:55 or the ramparts
33:58 We watched were so gallently [singing]
34:02 streaming.
34:04 And the rockets red glare.
34:08 The bombs bursting in air
34:14 gave proof through the night [singing]
34:18 that our flag was still there.
34:23 Oh, say [singing] does that star spangle
34:28 bender
34:30 yet
34:33 [singing]
34:36 or the land
34:38 of the three
34:43 [cheering]
34:44 and the home
34:48 of the
34:50 bra.
34:52 >> [cheering]
34:58 [screaming]
34:59 >> bring out those brooms as the Texas
35:04 tailgator look to sweep for the first
35:07 time ever. The firefighters, but it's
35:10 game two in the middle children matchup,
35:13 which means the fire and flames usually
35:17 win. Here in El Paso, Texas, how blessed
35:20 are we to be in the boot makingaking
35:22 capital of the world and play yet
35:24 another game of this lovely sport we
35:26 call banana ball. He's Zach Stton. I'm
35:30 Brett Loft. We welcome you in wherever
35:32 you're watching in virtual tailgator
35:34 land as we now look at how the boys and
35:37 the wind stripes are going to run it out
35:39 defensively tonight.
35:42 Exactly the same as last night actually
35:45 is is out what they're going to do. Uh,
35:46 it's pretty simple. Zach Watson, Indie
35:48 Stanley, Kyle Martin in the outfield,
35:51 Princess JB over at third, Taylor
35:53 Justice [music] at first. Your trick
35:55 play leaders up the middle, Jonathan
35:56 Sunshine Looters and Jordan Hussein. One
35:58 and two in the Banana Ball Championship
36:00 League as well. You see that 12 trick
36:03 plays a game. That is best in Banana
36:05 Ball by almost three trick plays a game.
36:08 I mean, it's incredible what the
36:09 Tailgator have done this year. 242 trick
36:12 plays. Nobody's even close to 200 except
36:14 for the Savannah Bananas entering
36:16 tonight had 187. I mean, it's
36:18 exceptional how well they've done that.
36:20 Taj Porter behind the plate. Why is that
36:23 so important? Because the man who's
36:24 induced the most trick [music] plays in
36:25 all of this year is going to take the
36:27 bump. The best left-handed pitcher on
36:30 either side of the Mississippi,
36:32 Christian Davis, against the
36:33 firefighters ace, Jared Donaldson.
36:35 >> Jared Donaldelson in two starts against
36:36 the Texas Tailgator, 10 strikeouts. He
36:39 was phenomenal against them in
36:41 Scottsdale with three innings of work,
36:43 five strikeouts on basically three days
36:46 of no sleep. They turn to him to get
36:48 something real special started on the
36:49 mound tonight against a guy in CD they
36:51 just cannot figure out.
36:52 >> DONNIE STATS DON'T MATTER BECAUSE WE
36:54 MUST talk about my favorite CD ever,
36:57 Christian Davis [screaming]
37:00 starting this ball game in that sweet
37:01 neon green arm sleeve. 27 career erra
37:06 against the firefighters. The last time
37:07 he threw against them was the open where
37:09 he was marvelous into seven trick plays.
37:12 Earned three points in five and a third
37:14 innings. Only gave up one run and had
37:16 five strikeouts and as you see 56 trick
37:18 plays induced leads the banana ball
37:20 championship league. However, that
37:22 offense is a good one he has to face
37:24 here tonight in the firefighters.
37:25 >> Yes, it is Brett Loftess. There are six
37:27 batters in the firefighters lineup who
37:29 are above 300 on the year. There are a
37:33 few changes to note in positioning.
37:36 namely Dalton Cornet and Eric Jones Jr.
37:39 DC3 is in the four hole for the first
37:41 time this season. Eric Jones Jr. is in
37:45 the five hole. That is the first time he
37:47 has moved out of the four spot all year.
37:49 You see Zachary Bridges, he's your
37:50 designated fielder. It will be Dalton
37:52 Cornet that is in the four hole tonight.
37:55 Listed as the catcher, but Zachary
37:56 Bridges is the designated fielder. And
37:59 South Trimble for the first time in his
38:01 firefighter career is starting at center
38:03 field. Why don't we start the grill,
38:05 light it ablaze, and let's get this
38:07 party started in El Paso. [music]
38:12 >> All right, El Paso, who's ready to start
38:14 this thing tonight? [cheering]
38:17 >> Yeah. Well, in Banana Ball, we like to
38:19 say start the clock, but in Tailgator
38:21 Country and in the great state of Texas,
38:24 we're going to say light the grill. So,
38:26 we're going to count down from three,
38:27 and on one, you're going to say light
38:29 the grill. Are you ready?
38:32 >> Are you ready?
38:35 All right, three, TWO, ONE, LIGHT THE
38:38 GRILL.
38:41 >> SHOWTIME. A LIVELY BUNCH. All 10,000 of
38:45 our friends here at Southwest University
38:47 Park.
38:48 The first pitch of all officially. It's
38:51 6:58
38:53 Mountain time. Christian Davis, Tiner
38:56 Hughes, tiny starts off the ball game
38:59 with a single just as he did last night.
39:01 OH, HE WANTS to and he'll get to.
39:07 Talking to him in the clubhouse right
39:09 before the game, he said, "Can I mix in
39:10 a double here at some point?" Well, how
39:12 about it? On the second pitch of the
39:13 game, Tiny gets into scoring position.
39:16 And I told you a key to success in the
39:18 pre-show was getting runners in scoring
39:21 position home. Firefighters, one bat in,
39:24 already one in scoring position.
39:27 >> One and0 to Peanut. sack flying hit by
39:30 pitch, but no hits for Mr. Peanut last
39:33 night. Left side, Jordan Hussein. Oh,
39:37 booed it into [music] left field. Zack
39:40 comes up throwing and it's got to be cut
39:42 off by Jordan Bar. That was a weird
39:44 weird weird hop he took there on Jordan
39:46 Hussein, but I would assume that that is
39:49 an E6.
39:50 >> I think it should be at that point
39:52 because it looks like that's what play
39:53 that Jordan Hussein usually makes. It's
39:55 one that you'd expect most short stops
39:56 to make, but either way for the
39:57 firefighters, two batters go up and two
40:00 batters are on at the corners.
40:04 >> Logan Lacy way behind that fast ball.
40:07 Uses a golden batter last night. Two for
40:09 five.
40:11 Officially is an error on Jordan
40:13 Hussein. Alpena reached over first. Fans
40:17 not an opportunity out of the ballpark.
40:19 No BG showtime. Had a little showtime
40:22 last night. had a backflip catch on the
40:25 infield.
40:32 >> Brett, since the open, Logan Lacy's
40:35 averaging 321 and a 429 OBP.
40:38 >> Got him. C D with his first punch and
40:42 him and TSH have a little bit of a
40:45 quell.
40:47 Let's see it.
40:55 MC.
41:02 I don't even know what [music]
41:10 [music] she
41:12 look.
41:17 [music]
41:22 >> Hey
41:26 yeah.
41:33 secret between me, you and God state in
41:35 the first of the night. When Jordan
41:37 Watson, your director of entertainment,
41:38 sends you a Tik Tok, you put it in the
41:40 show every time and twice on Saturday
41:43 night. What up here in the top of the
41:45 first, runners on the corners, lefty
41:48 lefty matchup, CD versus DC3,
41:52 the man who drove in the first run of
41:54 the all game for the firefighters last
41:55 night. Also in the top of the first,
41:59 [cheering]
41:59 off the roof. Brett, I'm going to keep a
42:01 tally on how many secrets between Yumi
42:03 and God you share with us tonight.
42:05 >> Four last night
42:07 >> just in case you're also keeping track
42:09 of that in the YouTube comments.
42:12 >> Oo, foul ball. That's about as unlucky
42:15 as it gets.
42:16 >> Yeah, it's one that Daltton wanted to
42:17 lay off of. Clearly was well inside and
42:19 now he faces an O2.
42:22 >> Dton told me he was real uncomfortable
42:23 last night. Even as uncomfortable as he
42:26 was, still had a hit and a still [music]
42:27 a first. Wow. D baby, play that sweet
42:31 music. Two outs, two strikeouts for the
42:34 2025 Banana Ball Allstar.
42:39 >> Could not have started much better for
42:40 the Firefighters. And since then,
42:41 back-to-back KS for CD. This is why he's
42:44 been so effective against the Fire and
42:45 Flames.
42:48 >> Eric Jones Jr.,
42:52 you know, CD only had nine [music]
42:54 strikeouts on the year entering tonight.
42:57 just got 10 10 and 11 here.
43:01 He's not a big time strikeout guy. Never
43:03 has been, never will be. Ground balls is
43:05 what makes the money
43:06 >> for Mr. [music] Davis
43:10 >> right here. One more strike away from
43:12 getting another one.
43:20 >> Out of the ballpark.
43:25 >> EJ over for four last night.
43:31 fans,
43:35 >> please bring your glove when you come to
43:36 an animal game. Man tried to catch that
43:39 bare hand. One, two again.
43:43 Good frame, but no call there. Two
43:45 balls, two strikes, two outs, two
43:47 runners on. The deuce is wild here in
43:50 the top of the first.
44:00 EJ's determined to make him pitch back
44:02 to him. He's tried to go the outside
44:03 corner a couple times.
44:06 Ball for Sprint will bring home the
44:07 first run of the night for the
44:08 Firefighters.
44:10 Peanut will go first to third. OH, EJ'S
44:12 TRYING TO GET TWO and he will.
44:17 Well, you usually don't see that kind of
44:18 speed from the guy who lines up at first
44:20 base catcher or the designated hitter
44:22 spot for the firefighters, but he gets
44:24 IT RIGHT THERE. HI, WE'RE dancing
44:33 there.
44:35 [music]
44:36 So much
44:38 be
44:41 [music]
44:44 >> the firefighters do the jerk to exit the
44:46 field.
44:48 >> I don't know how I feel about the
44:49 Macarena to Lincoln Park. But you know
44:51 what? I'll take a two baseball for
44:53 sprint for Eric Jones Jr. every day of
44:55 the week. And by the way, in the banana
44:56 ball open, the one guy to really get to
44:58 CD was EJ in the first inning. Walked
45:01 him off. He gets an RBI ball for sprint.
45:03 Now, a man who broke a record last
45:05 night. We'll tell you about that record
45:06 momentarily as it goes to dead center
45:08 field. Indie looks up and it's gone.
45:11 It's gone. Lamar Sparks home run number
45:15 five. That is his first non-wrun homer.
45:19 AND IT'S BECAUSE IT'S A THREERUN SHOT,
45:22 THE FIFTH OF THE YEAR. AND LAMAR SPARKS
45:26 BREAKS OUT THE SPARKS NOTES AGAINST THE
45:28 TEXAS TAILGATOR FOR THE FIRST TIME IN
45:31 2026.
45:35 Brady was about one foot away from
45:37 sending one out of the park last night.
45:39 It was fouled down the left field line.
45:41 THIS ONE A NO DOUBTER OFF THE BATTER'S
45:44 EYE. THANK GOODNESS GRUB and Bo weren't
45:46 there.
45:50 >> Fair.
45:52 Taylor Justice [music] book it over at
45:54 first.
45:55 >> That record by the way that uh Lamar
45:58 tied last night, I shouldn't say broke,
46:00 but tied a record. Four strikeouts in a
46:02 game. I think he put that uh much so in
46:04 the blind spot already. Four runs in
46:08 [music] the top of the first there for
46:09 the firefighters. And now we shall take
46:12 a look at the defense now for your boy
46:14 Zack State.
46:15 >> Hey, Lamar Sparks is going to get the
46:16 start in left field in what has seemed
46:18 like an everchanging outfield for the
46:20 firefighters. They'll start South
46:22 Trimble in centerfield for the first
46:24 time since he joined the Fire in Flames.
46:28 He started about 40 games there at
46:29 George Mason in college, but this is the
46:32 first time we'll see the Magic Man in
46:34 center field. The two infielders, the
46:35 guy who lead the way in trick plays in
46:38 Kaden Peanut Green and Tiner Hughes. 65
46:41 trick plays between those two. 8.6 trick
46:43 play rate. It's pretty darn good for the
46:45 Fighters. It's third in the league, but
46:46 they're going to have to get that up and
46:48 try and get the equalizer point that
46:49 way. The man in the middle, Jared
46:51 Donaldelson, has been downright dominant
46:53 [music] in most of his starts this year.
46:55 Three, two appearances against the Texas
46:57 Tailgator, one in relief in Scottsdale.
46:59 He went three innings, five strikeouts,
47:01 then started against him again in the
47:03 Banana Ball Open. Five strikeouts, but
47:05 surrendered five hits in three innings
47:08 of work. Four runs, only one was earned.
47:11 He'll see if he can try to shift that
47:12 tonight here in El Paso against the
47:15 Texas Tailgator group that hit just
47:16 about everything they saw last night
47:18 through the first two innings.
47:19 Yeah. And then we're held silent. Only
47:21 one run from the third inning on. It's
47:23 going to be the same exact lineup as
47:25 last night. Wadi Lopey and Kyle Martin
47:28 beginning your one, two, three. Bar
47:30 Justice, Jose Gonzalez fall after Porter
47:34 to Jason Art, not Jonathan Lutters.
47:37 Indiana Stanley and Jordan Hussein.
47:40 Tailgator lineup.
47:43 Quite quite the lineup. I mean this is
47:46 team that leads a banana ball
47:47 championship league in home runs with 25
47:51 [screaming]
47:52 295 batting average third best
47:58 and a tall task here in the bottom of
48:00 the first to overcome four runs.
48:05 Zag Watson 0 for three last night.
48:09 He said I jinxed him this morning. I
48:11 said how so? He said, "Because you had
48:13 me out in the closet at the stage show."
48:15 I said, "Waddy, just because you have
48:17 beautiful hair and I wanted to utilize
48:19 that [music] doesn't mean I jinxed you."
48:21 Cuz he's now behind a ball and two
48:23 strikes.
48:24 >> I don't understand why that that would
48:26 [music] be a jinx either. He's got great
48:28 hair. He really does.
48:31 >> The one two from Donnie.
48:36 >> Hesitation misses wide.
48:39 >> Two balls and two strikes.
48:46 Oo, caught a piece of Wii. Second time
48:48 this year he's been got nabbed up top in
48:51 the [music] noggin, but looks like he
48:53 all good and he'll run on down the
48:54 first. Obviously Jared Donald is not
48:56 trying to do that. Good sportsmanship
48:57 from him coming off the mound.
49:03 >> Thank goodness it didn't hit him any
49:04 harder than that and he comes right back
49:05 up. But that is always a dangerous scene
49:07 when someone gets hit [music] in the
49:08 helmet for Watt. It's good to see him
49:10 immediately race over to first.
49:12 >> Nick Lopez, Mr. Leisure, looked like his
49:15 all-star self from a year [music] ago
49:17 last night. Couple of hits, double and
49:19 an RBI single.
49:24 The thing he was most excited about was
49:27 that Ella Langley run Sally though.
49:29 >> Of course,
49:30 >> that had him fired up.
49:31 >> How many LFells are on the Tailgator?
49:33 >> Lopey leads that bunch. The O2 poked in
49:35 the left. Foul.
49:50 There's a napkin that is blown into the
49:52 net here and is just capturing my
49:53 attention.
49:55 >> The one two. Oh, gets a back stop.
49:59 Pass ball or wild pitch. I would assume
50:01 a wild pitch. Jared Donison would sure
50:03 say as much as now that'll let Zack
50:06 Watson advance up another 90 ft. Two
50:07 balls, two strikes.
50:15 >> Ooh, watch your kneecaps, Joe Peron.
50:20 >> All squirmed [music] down there.
50:21 >> Matthew Stock, too, by the way. Had to
50:23 really get out of there.
50:28 >> Great block there by Zachary Bridges.
50:31 >> And Daltton Cornet in the lineup is at
50:33 the catcher spot. ZB the designated
50:36 fielder tonight and presume we'll see
50:37 him all nine innings behind home plate
50:39 [music]
50:44 >> Lie with that two- strike approach man
50:47 something he came up with at Kentucky
50:48 both the blue mustache and pounding his
50:51 chest holding up those two fingers
50:53 during a two- strike foul ball
50:56 >> another payoff ball for spread
50:59 will easily score ly big round but will
51:02 stay at First
51:06 [music]
51:08 >> ball four sprints had not been the
51:10 biggest problem for Jared Donaldson this
51:12 year, but that's his 16th delivered here
51:14 in 2026 and already two up and one
51:17 across for the Texas Tailgator as Kyle
51:20 Martin comes in.
51:24 You see the stats. Leads the Banana Ball
51:27 Championship League in home runs and OPS
51:31 in the sky right center field.
51:35 That's number 10.
51:38 We welcome you back to the auction. As
51:41 for back-to back ball games, the former
51:44 El PASO CHIHUAHUA homers here at
51:47 Southwest University Park.
51:51 I will not believe that he is real.
51:59 The power, the brute, the strength,
52:03 and the first atbat home runs here in El
52:06 Paso. Michael Schwarz, go grab him,
52:09 please.
52:11 >> Kyle, Kyle, two nights in a row, a home
52:14 run where you used to play baseball. How
52:15 did that feel?
52:16 >> Absolutely incredible in front of this
52:18 crowd.
52:18 >> All right, we got to get you off the
52:20 field. He hit a home run. He hit an
52:21 inside the park home run and one over
52:24 that fence when he played here with the
52:25 Chihuahua. Did it again for night two.
52:28 Number 10 on the year, guys.
52:30 >> Worthy to note, he did a lot more than
52:31 that when he played here for the
52:32 Chihuahua. IS JORDAN BAR RIGHT CENTER.
52:35 OH, backto back. Yayas.
52:40 They're big. They're strong. They're the
52:43 Texas Tailgators and they've scored four
52:45 runs in four at bats here in the bottom
52:49 of the first.
52:57 >> Michael, let's hear from you again.
53:01 >> TWIN. TWIN, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? TWIN,
53:03 you and Kmart again. What do you have to
53:06 say?
53:06 >> Uh, that felt really good.
53:08 >> Okay. All right. Go relax.
53:11 >> Okay. Oh, we Oh, relax. Okay.
53:15 >> 100%.
53:17 Have already pushed here in the bottom
53:19 of the first. Taylor Justice one and
53:22 wow. Two free passes, two home runs.
53:26 It's a great way to start a ball game
53:27 offensively if you're the tailgator.
53:29 Left side peanut between the legs.
53:33 Book it. Good way to get out number one
53:36 if you're the firefighters.
53:38 You wish that had come about four
53:40 batters earlier than that. Peanut gets
53:43 the first trip play for the fire in
53:44 flames. Boy though, it's going to hurt.
53:46 We talked about keeping it clean in the
53:48 [music] first inning. Score four in the
53:50 top and give it all away before an out.
53:53 >> Big difference by the way in the top
53:56 half and bottom halves of these innings,
53:58 even if it remains the same as the 01 to
54:00 Jos Gonzalez Jr. misses outside. All
54:03 four of these runs will be earned to
54:05 Jared Donaldson. None of those four runs
54:07 will be earned. They'll be all be
54:09 unearned for Christian Davis.
54:12 Mason Max as tricky as they come.
54:16 >> Book it for out number two. [music]
54:19 His 22nd trick play in 2026 making the
54:22 fulltime switch over to first base.
54:24 That's what Mason Maxwell does so well.
54:26 Cool, calm, and collected over at first.
54:28 That's [music] two down.
54:29 >> The biggest, the largest.
54:32 By the way, it is four to four. Four to
54:34 four here in the bottom of the first.
54:40 >> Taj Porter with a swing could win the
54:42 Tailgators their first point of the
54:43 night.
54:45 So he gets ahead one and0. You know
54:48 Jared Donaldson, it's funny. I recall a
54:49 conversation he and I had yesterday. He
54:51 said, "Brett, if I'm locked in the
54:53 first, I'll be locked [music] in
54:54 throughout."
54:56 >> Donnie told me, he goes, "I I'm just I'm
54:58 a guy that if you get to me, you're
55:00 going to have to get to me early." And
55:01 obviously the tailgators have done that
55:03 here tonight.
55:06 Two balls and a strike.
55:15 >> Wow. Reese Miller, please don't hurt
55:18 yourself. Her clothes are down there
55:20 trying to catch a foul ball.
55:26 >> Little hesitation. Try to go back foot
55:28 count again. Four to four in the inning.
55:31 [music]
55:32 Firefighters lead the trick play battle
55:33 early two to one. Full count coming with
55:35 two outs here to Taj and another ball
55:37 for Brent.
55:39 Taj is second of the weekend. [music]
55:42 >> He'll stay at first and designated
55:43 runner Jacob Pipper will come on the run
55:46 who is tied third in the Banana Ball
55:48 Championship League with 11 stolen
55:50 bases.
56:00 Jared Donaldson really trying to lock it
56:02 in here.
56:03 >> Jason Arc 0 and one.
56:06 >> My July looking for his fourth walkoff
56:08 of 2026.
56:11 >> Hooks it in the sky. Right field out of
56:14 the ballpark.
56:21 >> [singing]
56:25 >> Jacob Personick stays at first. Now we
56:28 work with a ball in two strikes.
56:30 [snorts]
56:34 >> Got him.
56:35 >> Big time strike out from Jared
56:37 Donaldson, but the damage is already
56:38 done. After the firefighters played four
56:41 in the top half, the [music] tailgator
56:42 plate the for first four batters who
56:45 come to the plate for them tonight. And
56:47 that means we're still tied at nothing.
56:48 Nothing. Yes, it sure does, Brett. But
56:50 there's a lot more offense than we
56:51 already saw last night. Had seven
56:54 combined runs last night. We have eight
56:55 in the first inning as Donnie finally
56:57 gets something his way with the K on
57:00 Jason Arts. But boy, if you're the
57:01 firefighters, you feel good about your
57:03 offensive bats. You have got to find a
57:05 way to get your starting pitcher locked
57:07 in after tailgator score four runs
57:09 before they even record an out.
57:13 All the tailgators
57:15 are running out to center field, right
57:17 center field. What have we just seen two
57:19 yayas be hit? You know, it can only make
57:22 me ponder what exactly could be going on
57:25 here. Well, and grub dancing, of course.
57:28 >> That's probably not what's happening.
57:29 But
57:30 >> nobody has taken the field, and I really
57:31 just seem to ponder to myself, what
57:33 could possibly be going on?
57:36 >> Shall we be so blessed to find out?
57:49 I got that real good feel good stuff up
57:53 under the seat of my big black jacked up
57:56 truck rolling on 35s.
58:00 Pretty girl by my side. You got [music]
58:02 that suntan skirt and boots. Waiting on
58:07 you to look my way in school. Your
58:10 little hot self over here. Girl, hand me
58:13 another beer. Yeah. All them other boys
58:17 want to line you up and take you down.
58:21 But you look like the likes to take it
58:24 way out.
58:28 [music]
58:32 A little catfish dinner. Going to sound
58:34 like a winner when I lay down.
58:38 Yeah, that's my kind of night.
58:46 The Texas
58:48 game.
58:54 >> My kind of night 100% is being spent
58:56 here with you. All of you wonderful
58:59 people watching on the Texas Tailgator
59:00 YouTube channel. My good friend Zach
59:02 State. I'm Brett Loft as he's Christian
59:04 Davis. And he allowed four runs in the
59:07 top of the first. None of those being
59:08 earned. The tailgator scored four runs
59:11 in the bottom of the first. All of those
59:13 being earned to Jared Donaldson. [music]
59:14 So what does that mean in our wonderful
59:16 sport of banana ball? We're still tied
59:18 at no points to no points.
59:22 >> One inning though. Three home runs.
59:24 >> Yep.
59:25 >> Offensive explosion before we even get
59:28 to the second frame.
59:31 >> Those blue light specials at Kmart, man.
59:35 >> The great thing.
59:36 >> Is that what we saw?
59:37 >> Darren McDow. What' you know about
59:40 layaway? I remember a lot about layaway,
59:42 man. Remember, I'm 31.
59:44 >> Year round layaway. Man,
59:47 >> if only Kmart doesn't go bankrupt, you
59:49 know, like we could just be living in
59:51 such a great society.
59:52 >> They could have really used a home run
59:53 on layaway.
59:55 >> Good chopper, Jordan Bar. A trick play
1:00:00 missed on JB.
1:00:03 >> You see why he's one of the most
1:00:04 decorated players in Augustana history
1:00:06 with that athleticism right there. But
1:00:08 then you try to get that trick play in
1:00:10 there.
1:00:15 >> Sometimes you just get it caught on the
1:00:17 backside. Is Noah Bridges the designated
1:00:19 runner will come on over at first.
1:00:21 Dakota McFaten DMAC.
1:00:23 >> He told me once again ready to take on
1:00:24 hell with a squirt gun.
1:00:25 >> He c he talked to me in [music] the
1:00:26 hotel lobby this morning. He goes,
1:00:28 "Yeah, we're getting that put on a
1:00:30 t-shirt." Kmart
1:00:33 has it for out number one. Noah trying
1:00:35 to test the art of Kmart AND HE WON'T BE
1:00:38 ABLE TO get in there safely. The
1:00:41 [screaming] auction is not just the
1:00:43 offensive prowess but ALSO THE BIG
1:00:45 11HEADED R. A double play.
1:00:50 >> He's way back on the track. Noah Bridges
1:00:53 trying to catch him coming up slow. Oh,
1:00:54 I mean he's the the tag is there by a
1:00:57 mile as DMAC put that one 380 ft fly out
1:01:02 but then Noah tagged out at second.
1:01:05 >> Yeah,
1:01:07 >> South Tremble
1:01:10 Ball in a strike.
1:01:16 >> South South has been in the lineup four
1:01:18 times this year. He is five for eight in
1:01:20 those appearances.
1:01:24 foul.
1:01:25 >> And he's won a showman of the night
1:01:26 twice in those four games.
1:01:28 >> Is that good?
1:01:29 >> It's pretty darn good. It's 500.
1:01:32 >> Batting average 625.
1:01:36 >> Oo.
1:01:37 Wow. CD. Not a fan.
1:01:40 >> Eric Byer. First time he's been behind
1:01:42 home plate here in Banana Ball.
1:01:46 Another
1:01:48 payoff pitch incoming from Christian
1:01:49 Davis
1:01:51 >> trying to go three up, three down.
1:01:54 [music]
1:01:59 >> Broken bat sunshine tip drill. Book it.
1:02:04 Book it. The captain and the trick play
1:02:07 leader in Manaval
1:02:09 put the tailgator back in front in the
1:02:11 trick play battle. Three to two.
1:02:14 An inning that started so promising for
1:02:16 the firefighters ends and what the
1:02:18 tailgator do better than anybody in this
1:02:20 league. Trick plays from the best in the
1:02:23 league, Sunshine.
1:02:26 Let's pop quizzible here at what I
1:02:29 didn't. Yeah.
1:02:31 >> All righty, El Paso. We know the school
1:02:33 year here is winding down and we also
1:02:35 know that teachers have been giving
1:02:37 their students a hard time all school
1:02:39 year long. And so we've got two teachers
1:02:42 and we're going to put them to the test.
1:02:44 We're going to ask them three questions.
1:02:45 And if they want to answer the question,
1:02:47 well, they're going to have to reach in,
1:02:48 grab a water balloon, and smash it on
1:02:50 their head. We call this one the pop
1:02:53 quiz. Cass, who do we have here? I have
1:02:56 sixth grade math teacher Alexis.
1:03:01 All righty. And in front of me, I have
1:03:03 fifth and sixth grade science teacher
1:03:05 Omar.
1:03:06 Oh, and not to mention Omar is the
1:03:09 father of Alexis, by the way.
1:03:11 >> That part isn't.
1:03:11 >> We've got a family rivalry here.
1:03:14 >> They'll be ready. Remember, you got to
1:03:16 grab the water balloon, smash it on your
1:03:17 head. First one to do it will answer the
1:03:18 question. Question number one. What is
1:03:21 the capital of Texas?
1:03:25 >> I think that was Alexis. Got the balloon
1:03:27 first.
1:03:28 >> Austin is the correct answer. We're
1:03:31 doing best two out of three. Cass,
1:03:32 question number two. Question number
1:03:34 two. Not really a question. You just
1:03:36 have to finish this line. The stars at
1:03:40 night are big and bright.
1:03:46 >> In Texas in Texas.
1:03:50 >> Not quite.
1:03:51 >> It was
1:03:51 >> not the full line. Omar, do you have any
1:03:54 idea?
1:03:55 >> He doesn't. We'll move on to question
1:03:57 number three. No worries. No worries.
1:03:59 True or false? El Paso is the rain boot
1:04:02 capital of the world.
1:04:04 Omar.
1:04:05 >> True.
1:04:06 >> No, that's not true.
1:04:09 >> Ladies and gentlemen, that means we got
1:04:11 a winner right here.
1:04:12 >> That is true.
1:04:12 >> MAKE SOME NOISE FOR ALEXIS.
1:04:15 >> ALL RIGHTY, OMAR.
1:04:17 >> Since you lost the pop quiz, it's time
1:04:20 for your punishment. Alexis,
1:04:24 >> pump that bucket of water on your dad in
1:04:26 three, two, one.
1:04:31 >> Ladies and gentlemen,
1:04:32 >> you want to hear a fun one, Zach Stton?
1:04:34 Yeah,
1:04:35 >> in the stage show today, there was a
1:04:37 sign that says, "Teachers who want to
1:04:39 get wet, please come up here." That's
1:04:42 how we found our contestants there for
1:04:43 pop quiz. Indiana Stanley comes up
1:04:46 empty. First pitch here in the home half
1:04:48 of the second.
1:04:49 >> It's one of them double on
1:04:52 Savu.
1:04:54 >> Save Vu.
1:04:56 >> Any fresh Prince of Bair [music] fans
1:04:57 out there in the wild tonight,
1:04:58 >> chat? You make my heart happy if you do.
1:05:02 Oh, let's go to the back stop. INDY'S
1:05:04 TRYING TO STEAL FIRST. ZACHARY Bridges
1:05:07 got him.
1:05:10 >> MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS. ZACHARY BRIDGES.
1:05:14 I'm not even sure if HE WAS ON BALANCE
1:05:16 WHEN HE MADE THAT THROW. INDIE STANLEY
1:05:19 IS NOT A SLOWPOKE. HE GOT HIM. WHAT A
1:05:23 PLAY FROM ZB BEHIND THE DISH.
1:05:27 WOW,
1:05:29 that was a great play by the designated
1:05:31 fielder in Zachary Bridges, man.
1:05:35 Fan franchise, one of three for the
1:05:37 firefighters coming into this year.
1:05:40 Welcome all of you coming in whether
1:05:42 you're coming in from Savannah or
1:05:44 Indianapolis. Little late night banana
1:05:46 ball just like last night for those on
1:05:48 the east coast.
1:05:49 We got early morning banana ball if
1:05:51 you're watching in the United Kingdom.
1:05:53 had a fan in the chat last night said it
1:05:55 was whatever it is 2:27 a.m. or whatever
1:05:57 it is right now in the UK. Jordan
1:06:00 Hussein got two balls and two strikes on
1:06:02 him.
1:06:13 >> Someone asked to explain the 20-minute
1:06:15 first inning. [music] Yes, it's very
1:06:16 simple. Three home runs, eight combined
1:06:19 runs, no points.
1:06:20 >> Yep. Yep. 100% to a T.
1:06:24 >> Four in the top half, four in the home
1:06:25 half. Jordan Hussein empty. Another
1:06:28 strike out the second night for Donnie.
1:06:31 And maybe the caught stealing first base
1:06:33 is just what the doctor needed to solve
1:06:35 a little riddle there for Jared
1:06:37 Donaldson.
1:06:39 A lovely splitter right at the knees.
1:06:42 Oh, things are happening. Brett Jose
1:06:44 Guutierrez,
1:06:46 >> where are you?
1:06:49 We going
1:06:52 to
1:06:54 get down to business
1:06:59 like a bongo. I like them [music] and
1:07:02 they like me.
1:07:16 My reputation is notorious.
1:07:19 [music]
1:07:20 >> What y'all know about Jose Gutierrez?
1:07:22 Well, I'm going to tell you a little bit
1:07:23 about him. A native of Arlington, Texas.
1:07:27 A midseason signing due to a lot of the
1:07:30 injuries that we've had. And right here,
1:07:32 he's going to hit in place of the
1:07:33 leadoff man, Zack Watson.
1:07:37 >> Tell you what stood out to me there.
1:07:38 Butt bongos.
1:07:43 Shall we tell another secret between me,
1:07:45 you, and God?
1:07:47 >> Let's do it. Do it.
1:07:48 >> Ian Shrift and I, our wonderful
1:07:50 videographer, taught the guys how to do
1:07:52 that today. Mom and dad, I am so sorry.
1:07:54 I am so sorry.
1:07:55 >> Ian had a time and a half trying to
1:07:57 figure out how to do it.
1:07:58 >> Yep. It was uh interesting during
1:08:00 rehearsals today.
1:08:02 >> Tell you what, I'll give you a secret
1:08:03 between you and me and God.
1:08:04 >> Talk to him.
1:08:05 >> Ian was the bongo.
1:08:08 Three balls on strike. [laughter]
1:08:10 Gutierrez who's two for five this year.
1:08:14 Oo, home run hack there.
1:08:20 >> Donnie trying to go three up, three down
1:08:22 just as CD did in the top half here in
1:08:24 the second.
1:08:25 >> And he does. Backto back poke JS for
1:08:28 Donnie [music] to conclude matters here
1:08:30 in the second as Michael Schwarz, he has
1:08:33 something for us.
1:08:36 >> Hey guys, so it's a special day. It's
1:08:37 the first time I'm wearing the handlebar
1:08:39 mustache. You saw this the finished
1:08:40 product from Chris Clark. But it's also
1:08:42 firefighters hitting coach Drew
1:08:43 Neiesta's birthday. How old's coach?
1:08:46 >> I'm 27. Happy 27th birthday. And to do
1:08:49 it, your best hitter actually has a
1:08:50 poem. This is called poem poems with
1:08:53 peanut.
1:08:54 >> Poems of peanut. Hello Drew. Happy
1:08:56 birthday. So I wrote this one for you.
1:08:58 So I hope it hits your heart. It doesn't
1:09:01 matter what age you might be. As long as
1:09:03 you go up the middle, those hits are
1:09:05 free. It's Drew's birthday. He still
1:09:07 looks fine. Happy birthday, COACH.
1:09:10 THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE.
1:09:17 >> That was uh that was something. That was
1:09:19 something. Zach
1:09:20 >> Peanut came to me a little bit earlier
1:09:22 and said, "I got to find I got to figure
1:09:23 out a poem for Drew Yiansta. It's his
1:09:26 [music] birthday. I want to tell him
1:09:27 something special." So, he and I
1:09:29 collaborated on that a little bit. I
1:09:31 think we did a pretty darn good job.
1:09:32 It's also a great way to welcome in all
1:09:34 of those watching the Savannah Banatas
1:09:36 and the Loco Beach Coconuts. [laughter]
1:09:37 >> You see a random haik coup being said in
1:09:40 front of your very slam poetry has
1:09:42 broken out here in El Paso.
1:09:43 >> Welcome to El Paso, Texas and the Texas
1:09:45 Tailgator YouTube channel. Uh how about
1:09:48 that? Driven Eston Tyler Hughes born a
1:09:51 singular day apart in the history of
1:09:52 time.
1:09:52 >> And Yep. both 27 years old.
1:09:55 >> One looks significantly different than
1:09:57 the other. I'll just say like that in
1:09:59 terms of
1:09:59 >> They both look good.
1:10:00 >> Yep. Speaking of tiny, he's at the dish.
1:10:03 We get you a little game recap thus far.
1:10:06 Firefighters tailgators both scored four
1:10:08 apiece in the first inning, pushing that
1:10:10 inning. Both scoreless in the second.
1:10:12 Here we are in the top of the third.
1:10:13 Still zeros in the points category.
1:10:15 Tailgator lead the trick play battle
1:10:16 three to2. Tiner chopper left side.
1:10:19 Jordan Bar throws the glove off bare
1:10:20 hand to first.
1:10:23 Not in time. Infield [music] single for
1:10:26 Tiner. That's been a while since I've
1:10:27 seen an infielder throw the glove on an
1:10:30 infield hit. It's a heck of a play from
1:10:32 Jordan Bar coming up just stabbing it
1:10:35 with a bare hand, but Tiner can fly down
1:10:37 that line. Hard 90 to be cool.
1:10:41 To be cool, to be honest, it's only the
1:10:44 second time we've ever seen that in
1:10:45 Banana Ball.
1:10:49 >> Jordan Bar did it the first time.
1:10:52 >> [cheering]
1:10:53 >> I just read the caption on Drake Tol's
1:10:55 most recent Instagram is why I said to
1:10:57 be cool.
1:10:57 >> There it is.
1:10:58 >> You guys should go check that one out.
1:10:59 Three laws and no strikes.
1:11:01 >> What was the caption on his?
1:11:02 >> I actually can't.
1:11:03 >> Okay, good.
1:11:04 >> I actually can't say that long.
1:11:05 >> We move forward.
1:11:06 >> I can't. [cheering]
1:11:08 It was sent to me. And anyway, three to
1:11:11 Peanut called strike. Oh, they got Ty in
1:11:14 a rund down and he gets back in time.
1:11:17 Oh, he comes OFF THE BAG. HE comes off
1:11:19 the bag and that'll be out number one.
1:11:22 Taj Porter. Another coach stealing from
1:11:26 the quadfather.
1:11:27 >> I don't think that's a steal called.
1:11:29 Clearly he's back there and then the
1:11:30 hand comes off.
1:11:32 He's trying to get a head start on the
1:11:33 ball for Sprint and he went a little way
1:11:37 too early I should say.
1:11:41 He went in the sky right side.
1:11:44 Sunshine tip drill.
1:11:48 BOOK IT.
1:11:50 BOOK IT. ANOTHER TIP DRILL. Another
1:11:53 double trick play for the boys in blue
1:11:55 and orange.
1:11:58 >> It's just what they do, man. It's just
1:11:59 what they do. But the firefighters in
1:12:01 backto-back innings have gotten a runner
1:12:02 on first and had him down before they
1:12:04 could even make an attempt to go to
1:12:06 second officially.
1:12:11 In full clarity, that will go down as a
1:12:13 cult called stealing because Tiner took
1:12:14 off. Taj screwed down. Tiner then tried
1:12:17 to revert back to first. So officially
1:12:19 is a cult called stealing. Though it is
1:12:22 one of the oddest called stealings I
1:12:23 think you'll probably ever see.
1:12:24 >> Yep.
1:12:25 >> Logan Lacy in the driver's seat here. 2
1:12:27 and0. He struck out his first time up.
1:12:29 Sunshine. Oh, WHAT A PLAY BETWEEN THE
1:12:32 LEGS. TIP drill to himself. Book it.
1:12:34 Book it.
1:12:37 Back-to- back double trick
1:12:38 [singing and music] plays for Taylor
1:12:39 Justice and the league leader in that
1:12:41 category, Jonathan Sunshine Looters. How
1:12:44 blessed are we
1:12:47 >> to be right here in El Paso, Texas, the
1:12:49 same time as Sunshine, and the same time
1:12:52 as Lexi Callahan with Banatas Foster.
1:12:54 >> The United States, there are over
1:12:57 400,000
1:12:58 children and teens in foster care
1:13:01 without a permanent home. To raise
1:13:03 awareness and support this community, we
1:13:06 created Bananas Foster, the official
1:13:09 nonprofit of Banana Ball. Our
1:13:12 organization is dedicated to celebrating
1:13:14 those in the foster care community while
1:13:17 educating and inspiring others to get
1:13:19 involved. Tonight, we are celebrating
1:13:22 the Blake family. Nine years ago, Alex
1:13:26 and Amanda along with their six children
1:13:30 discovered the need for more foster
1:13:32 families in their community and decided
1:13:34 to become a licensed foster family to
1:13:37 provide a safe and loving home for
1:13:39 children in need. They have prioritized
1:13:42 keeping siblings together and they have
1:13:45 accepted some of the most challenging
1:13:48 cases from teaching a non-verbal child
1:13:51 American sign language to opening their
1:13:54 door to emergency lastm minute
1:13:56 placements. With the help of Grandma
1:13:58 Vicki and Papa Martin, the Blakes have
1:14:01 welcomed 17 children and teens into
1:14:04 their home and have adopted a sibling
1:14:06 set of three into their family. fans,
1:14:10 please help us celebrate the Blake
1:14:12 family for making a difference right
1:14:14 here in your community.
1:14:38 The Blake family, our Bananas Foster
1:14:41 family of the night. You can text bunch
1:14:43 to 50155
1:14:46 and support Bananas Foster. Such a
1:14:48 special moment. The first time Banana
1:14:49 Ball has ever come here to Southwest
1:14:51 Texas in El Paso. so close to the Mexico
1:14:54 border and to the New Mexico state
1:14:56 border as well and getting to honor
1:14:58 these great families on back-to-back
1:15:00 nights. Also cool the history we're
1:15:02 seeing here with our first ever two
1:15:04 bananas foster families here in El Paso.
1:15:06 Also want to welcome all of you in
1:15:08 watching on the Texas Tailgator YouTube
1:15:10 channel as you guys are also part of
1:15:12 history. This is the highest concurrent
1:15:14 viewership we have ever had on the
1:15:16 Tailgator broadcast here on the
1:15:17 Tailgator YouTube channel. So come on in
1:15:19 and stay a while. He's Zach Stton. I'm
1:15:21 Brett Loftess. We are so happy to have
1:15:23 you here tonight. The firefighters, the
1:15:24 tailgator, and the tailgator trying to
1:15:28 sweep the firefighters for the first
1:15:29 time ever or continue the trend where
1:15:31 the tailgator win game one and the
1:15:32 firefighters win game two. So far here
1:15:35 tonight, four runs for each team in the
1:15:37 first, none in the second, none in the
1:15:39 top of the third for the firefighters.
1:15:40 Is Jared Donaldson beginning the home
1:15:43 half of the third against Nick Lopez,
1:15:45 Kyle Martin, and Jordan Bar.
1:15:48 It's a tale of really three different
1:15:49 innings, but for the firefighters in the
1:15:51 top half of each inning, they have
1:15:53 gotten a runner at least to first.
1:15:55 Obviously, in the first inning, they
1:15:56 bring four runs home, but they've had
1:15:58 some critical mistakes in the second and
1:16:00 third on the base pads. Noah Bridges
1:16:02 getting [music] picked off on what
1:16:03 essentially was a 385 ft fly out. And
1:16:07 then Tiner Hughes gets picked off,
1:16:09 caught stealing technically, trying to
1:16:11 get a head start on a ball for sprint.
1:16:13 He gets picked off and the firefighters
1:16:14 [music] go from one on and nobody outs
1:16:16 to having two out quickly. They've got
1:16:18 to find ways to short it up on the
1:16:19 [music] base pads as Jared Donaldson
1:16:21 comes on with the bump.
1:16:26 >> Nicl Lopez takes one in the dirt. He had
1:16:28 an RBI [music] ball for a sprint, his
1:16:30 first time around.
1:16:35 >> Wow. Couple of them that spiked.
1:16:38 Obviously don't want to run on Zack
1:16:39 Bridges right now. I caught Indiana
1:16:41 Stanley trying to steal first.
1:16:44 Gosh, and what a great crowd we've had
1:16:45 here in [music] El Paso. I mean, I'm
1:16:47 serious. We get great crowds everywhere
1:16:48 we go. So thankful for all the fans.
1:16:50 These folks have been fired [music] up
1:16:52 for the first time Banana Ball has
1:16:54 touched El Paso.
1:17:01 >> Two turns to 3 and0 against Nick Lopez.
1:17:04 >> Danger [music] territory here for the
1:17:05 firefighters defense.
1:17:11 safe harbor rule, but nonetheless, Nick
1:17:12 Lopez didn't leave the box. Three balls
1:17:14 and one strike.
1:17:15 >> Back-to-back innings. We've had an iffy
1:17:18 three-0 call. Nothing iffy about that.
1:17:20 Lopey swinging out of his shoes. Donnie
1:17:23 starting to work with some pace.
1:17:24 Something we haven't seen out of him
1:17:25 tonight. Quickly, the [music] payoff
1:17:27 pitch.
1:17:28 Foul tip. This is what you got to do
1:17:31 after getting down in a three-0 hole.
1:17:33 Really getting down four in the first
1:17:35 inning. You just got to find a way to
1:17:37 warrior your way through this
1:17:41 [music]
1:17:42 again. Chopper foul. Look at Bart. Just
1:17:46 watch it.
1:17:50 >> I tell you what, I love Coach Bartman.
1:17:52 He's one of my favorite people in this
1:17:55 organization.
1:17:58 >> I may be saying that cuz he can hear me
1:18:00 right now. FULL COUNT. LOPE [screaming]
1:18:02 DOWN THE LINE. That's going to roll for
1:18:04 a little bit. Oh, it kicks back in.
1:18:06 Lope's got to get on his horse. Darren
1:18:09 McDow throws it back in. That throw gets
1:18:11 away. Zachary Bridges backs it up. Wow.
1:18:14 So many things happening and
1:18:16 nonetheless, it's just a Leoff singles.
1:18:18 That was about as banana ball as you
1:18:20 could get. That's just about as chaotic
1:18:22 as you could get. Derry McDow, we saw it
1:18:24 last night. He's got a cannon. Very
1:18:25 nearly got it there. Just a little too
1:18:27 low for Mason Maxwell, but ZB [music]
1:18:29 right back there to help out his team.
1:18:34 Kyle Martin
1:18:37 not a home run but a high fly ball to
1:18:39 center.
1:18:42 >> South Trimble make the oldfashioned
1:18:44 catch for out number one.
1:18:46 >> It's understandable to bring that one
1:18:47 in. Tip drill any sort of trick play and
1:18:50 the runner can tag up as soon as this
1:18:51 the play is started. But you're down
1:18:54 five trick plays here in the bottom half
1:18:56 of the third. It's [music] about time
1:18:58 you got to get something going here.
1:19:02 misses up and in to Jordan Bar who also
1:19:04 had a home run his first time up. He and
1:19:06 Kyle Martin to the same exact spot right
1:19:08 center field.
1:19:11 Jordan Bar, man, special rookie season
1:19:13 and I think it's been rather quiet. He's
1:19:15 hitting just a hair below 400 now after
1:19:17 that first home run he had tonight.
1:19:21 Let's not forget the ball is flying here
1:19:23 in El Paso. Only had one home run last
1:19:24 night. Three already tonight. We're
1:19:26 nearly 4,000 ft above sea level here in
1:19:28 El Paso.
1:19:30 300 3,888 to be exact.
1:19:34 >> What you got on that, man? That's pretty
1:19:37 high above sea level. Yeah, it's hard to
1:19:39 breathe.
1:19:42 Jordan Barf to deep center field. South
1:19:45 dribble on his horse and PRINCESS JB
1:19:49 HITS ANOTHER ONE.
1:19:53 You cannot stop him. You can only hope
1:19:56 to contain him. It's the purr.
1:20:00 It's the armsley. It's the aura. And
1:20:03 right now, it's the long ball
1:20:06 >> as the first walk off of the night gives
1:20:08 the tailgator a one to nothing leaders.
1:20:18 >> Right now for the firefighters, you got
1:20:20 to be looking back at that first inning
1:20:22 and wondering absolutely what could have
1:20:23 been. It would have been a tie game
1:20:24 here. Ooh, fun. Now he gets to speak.
1:20:29 divide. I'mma get up on the flow.
1:20:33 >> [ __ ] in the m. This is not about the
1:20:35 music.
1:20:54 >> That's J Dot. Not Kott, but J dot.
1:20:58 Jordan Bar who has hit home runs three
1:21:01 and four on his rookie campaign tonight.
1:21:04 The latest putting the tailgator ahead
1:21:06 one to nothing in this ball game.
1:21:09 >> And now we must send it down to Yale
1:21:13 Paso.
1:21:20 >> Let's send it out to center field with
1:21:22 Garrett Rhinestone. Lampert, what do you
1:21:25 have in store for us? El Paso, we know
1:21:28 that banana ball fans are some of the
1:21:30 loudest in all of sports. So, we've
1:21:32 decided to turn screaming into a
1:21:34 competition. Down here in center field,
1:21:36 I've got Harley and I've got David. And
1:21:38 they're both going to compete
1:21:39 head-to-head. Running while screaming.
1:21:43 Whoever can run the furthest while
1:21:44 screaming into the microphone will be
1:21:46 the winner of a game we're calling yell
1:21:49 Paso.
1:21:52 Whoever runs the furthest while
1:21:53 screaming will be the winner. The loser
1:21:55 is gonna get a nice big pie in the face.
1:21:58 Harley, are you ready to go?
1:22:01 >> Yes, sir.
1:22:02 >> Get that microphone up. Yell pass. Round
1:22:04 one will begin in three, two, one, go.
1:22:07 [screaming]
1:22:13 [groaning]
1:22:15 [laughter]
1:22:16 >> Right there at the cut of the infield.
1:22:17 Sunshine's marked him. David, that's
1:22:20 your spot to beat. Are you ready for
1:22:22 this?
1:22:22 >> I'm ready. David's yell pass attempt
1:22:25 will begin in three 2 1 go. [screaming]
1:22:35 >> He didn't He DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH STEAM.
1:22:37 ALL THE WAY OUT HERE. YOUR WINNER, IT'S
1:22:40 HARLEY. DAVID, follow me. It's time to
1:22:43 get a pie.
1:22:45 >> Harley, hold that pie. Let's get to the
1:22:46 infield dirt right here.
1:22:50 >> Pie him in the face.
1:22:55 He tried to escape it. He's still trying
1:22:58 to escape it.
1:23:00 >> Is this legal? Is he ever going to get
1:23:01 pedi?
1:23:03 >> He's trying to escape the pie.
1:23:07 >> Yale Passo. More like Tuesday afternoon
1:23:09 for Zack Stton and myself.
1:23:12 >> Really? I
1:23:14 >> mean, we yell a lot. Let's be self-aware
1:23:16 here.
1:23:16 >> Correct. Yes, very much so.
1:23:18 >> That's what the folks are always telling
1:23:19 me. Brad, you yell all the time. I know
1:23:22 >> that's that's banana ball.
1:23:23 >> I just I just want the folks to know
1:23:24 that. I'm self-aware.
1:23:25 >> It's banana ball.
1:23:26 >> It's a secret between me, you and God. I
1:23:27 had to tell you tonight. Dalton Cornett,
1:23:29 not a secret. He just hit a lead off
1:23:30 single here to begin the top of the
1:23:32 fourth.
1:23:33 >> Nothing secretive about that. Nothing
1:23:34 secretive about DC3. Loud hits all the
1:23:37 time for the lefty out of Pimpa Passes.
1:23:39 Kentucky.
1:23:40 >> Pimpa passes.
1:23:42 >> Looked.
1:23:43 >> You ever been to Pippa passes?
1:23:44 >> I've never been, but he told me a lot
1:23:45 about it.
1:23:48 >> Joles Jr. 0 and one. Talking to me about
1:23:49 mudding, about going spear fishing. It
1:23:52 sure is.
1:23:53 >> Mutton's not a real thing. High in the
1:23:54 sky, right side. Sunny Kmart
1:23:58 tip drill.
1:24:01 BOOK IT. BOOK IT. Another double trick
1:24:05 play for the Texas Tailgator who get up
1:24:07 tonight and the first this weekend for
1:24:09 the former Chihuahua Kyle Martin.
1:24:14 Every time the Firefighters have gotten
1:24:15 a run on first, the Tailgator have some
1:24:17 way to immediately negate the momentum.
1:24:20 [music] Can they find it again here
1:24:21 against a guy in Lamar Sparks who hit
1:24:23 his fifth home run of the season on a
1:24:25 three-run blast in the first inning?
1:24:30 Tailgator have four double trick plays
1:24:34 in the last six plate appearances. Make
1:24:36 that eight trick plays there. Might have
1:24:38 another one here. Jordan Marth Sunny
1:24:42 book it second but Lamar Sparks will
1:24:44 reach via fieldielder's choice now yet
1:24:47 another game in which the tail Texas
1:24:49 tailgators have 10 trick plays
1:24:52 >> but Brett you're seeing it again with CD
1:24:54 he's got two strikeouts on the night but
1:24:56 look how many trick plays he's inducing
1:24:58 and they're already to 10 and we're just
1:24:59 touching the top of the fourth
1:25:01 >> he now has 66 trick plays induced this
1:25:03 year which is by far heads and shoulders
1:25:05 above the rest of the Banana Ball
1:25:07 Championship League [music] Over 60% of
1:25:09 his outs had been trick plays coming
1:25:11 into tonight and well over 60% of his
1:25:14 outs have been that here tonight.
1:25:17 Mason Maxwell no batting gloves. Love
1:25:19 that look. Ball in a strike on him.
1:25:22 He grounded out into a trick play. His
1:25:25 first time up. Fans have an opportunity
1:25:27 here.
1:25:30 Not called
1:25:33 as Reggie Lian hits him with the 67 down
1:25:35 the third base [laughter] line. also
1:25:38 known as the juggle here.
1:25:45 >> Got him. A poache for CD.
1:25:49 The third of the night as we'll play
1:25:52 that sweet music all night long.
1:25:54 Christian Davis has not given up a run
1:25:56 since the first.
1:25:59 How exceptional is he? How blessed are
1:26:01 we to exist in the same world where
1:26:04 Christian Davis is a Texas tailgator?
1:26:08 And now, how blessed are we to tell that
1:26:10 baby hello?
1:26:12 >> With your hands in the air, it's time to
1:26:14 clap along to a little Hey baby.
1:26:21 >> If you don't know THE DANCE, JUST FOLLOW
1:26:23 ALONG.
1:26:29 >> Wave those arms.
1:26:34 >> [music]
1:26:34 >> Baby,
1:26:37 I want to know
1:26:41 my girl. [music]
1:26:42 >> Let's do it again.
1:26:55 >> [music]
1:26:57 >> Keep those hands clapping while we
1:26:59 shuffle.
1:27:01 [music]
1:27:07 [music]
1:27:11 >> Get those hands back up. WE'RE GOING TO
1:27:12 WAVE THEM.
1:27:21 >> [music]
1:27:24 >> One more time. LET ME HEAR YOU SING IT.
1:27:35 [music]
1:27:39 >> Give it UP FOR YOURSELVES. EL PASO, you
1:27:42 [cheering and applause]
1:27:45 tell the baby hello. Now we tell one of
1:27:48 my good friends and truly mentors here
1:27:50 in this sport. I really mean that. The
1:27:52 father of the tailgate, Andrew Bartman,
1:27:54 hello. How are you doing, Coach Barton?
1:27:56 >> Mr. Loftess, it's a pleasure to be
1:27:58 joining you tonight on air.
1:28:00 >> You [music] know, we're popping up this
1:28:01 lower third for our audience at home.
1:28:03 145 hot dogs, 45 burgers last night.
1:28:05 Where does that rank among your your
1:28:07 grilling history?
1:28:08 >> I think we're that was about average.
1:28:09 You know, Thursdays and Fridays, you're
1:28:11 going to have less fans at the tailgate.
1:28:13 You know, you got kids are in school,
1:28:14 people are at work. Saturday, El Paso
1:28:16 showed up, showed out like most folks do
1:28:19 on a Saturday.
1:28:20 >> So, outside of the grilled meats, what
1:28:23 else have you been feeding the Texas
1:28:24 tailgators who have went yard three
1:28:26 times already tonight?
1:28:28 >> Well, as you know, I'm the hitting
1:28:29 coach, correct? But I am a hitting coach
1:28:31 that I'm a hitting coach that just hit
1:28:34 and give what THEY NEED. YEAH, TJ. YEAH.
1:28:36 YEAH. YEAH. YEAH. YEAH. YEAH. YEAH.
1:28:37 YEAH. YEAH. YEAH. YEAH. YEAH. YEAH.
1:28:39 >> SORRY. I had to send him to second with
1:28:40 the spatula. Had to give him a go with
1:28:42 the spatula.
1:28:43 >> I think that's a double. We're waiting
1:28:44 for the official scoring scoring.
1:28:47 >> TJ.
1:28:48 >> And now the second point of the ball
1:28:50 game stands at second for the Texas
1:28:52 Tailgator. And we're going to send Pip.
1:28:53 We're going to set Pip. We're going to
1:28:54 send Pip to run. Let's go Pip.
1:28:57 >> As you know, the designated runner can
1:28:59 run one time through the batting order.
1:29:00 We have not used him yet this time
1:29:01 through the batting order. So, we are
1:29:02 going to send him out.
1:29:03 >> Andrew Bartman also over all the umpires
1:29:05 in
1:29:08 Means. He's got to know the rules.
1:29:09 >> Come on, Gonzo.
1:29:10 >> Can we tell our Conser Miller to stop
1:29:12 going for I said it earlier. I told him
1:29:14 earlier, Brad. Yeah. He's just a kid. He
1:29:16 just likes to have fun. Let him have his
1:29:18 fun.
1:29:19 >> What are you cooking right now?
1:29:21 >> What's up? About lost a twosteper ankle
1:29:24 there. Well, we already got some
1:29:25 burgers. We got some gongs. And on the
1:29:27 grill on my short rib drum smoker, we
1:29:30 have got Can you get in here and see
1:29:31 this? Look on the custom grate. The
1:29:33 Texas tailgator grate
1:29:36 hometown
1:29:38 cut off
1:29:40 time together. HE'S SAFE, BABY. Jose
1:29:43 brother Gonzalez another walk double
1:29:47 >> a gizzy bar.
1:29:48 >> Oh, he deserves a burger. He's going to
1:29:50 get I might even give him a double,
1:29:52 baby. [cheering]
1:29:54 >> Oh man, Coach B. I wish we could have
1:29:56 went longer, but a positive way to have
1:29:57 a short mic duck.
1:29:58 >> Hey, I'm here all night, baby. I'll take
1:30:00 that over me talking longer.
1:30:06 >> All right, Bart, walk us through this
1:30:07 OTT moment.
1:30:09 >> This OTT moment? I don't know because I
1:30:12 was not at rehearsal [music] because I
1:30:13 was out at the freaking tailgate cooking
1:30:15 for 2 hours in this 94°ree heat. So, I
1:30:17 missed rehearsal. I'm seeing it for the
1:30:19 first time like you are watching the
1:30:21 door. Gonzo, very photogenic young man.
1:30:24 Glad we got him this year. He's been
1:30:25 having a great year.
1:30:26 >> What a steal.
1:30:28 >> 10th round pick.
1:30:29 >> Yes. [screaming] Yeah. Buddy of mine
1:30:30 that coached him at Corpus Christie with
1:30:32 the Astros last year sat me down at
1:30:34 lunch one day. He was like, "You have to
1:30:35 sign brother. You have to sign brother.
1:30:37 Great human, great player. You have to
1:30:38 sign him." So, I'm glad I'm glad I
1:30:40 listened to that guy.
1:30:40 >> I want you to reiterate something I've
1:30:42 said because we talked about it at
1:30:44 dinner last night. The folks here in El
1:30:45 Paso have been wonderful this weekend.
1:30:47 [laughter]
1:30:48 >> From the grounds crew to the stadium
1:30:51 workers to the concessions people to the
1:30:53 people at the hotel to the people around
1:30:55 town. The fans have been electric. This
1:30:56 has been a fantastic stop on the Banana
1:30:58 Ball tour, the tailgator tour.
1:31:00 >> Yeah, I mean it's it's [music]
1:31:02 just a fabulous place to bring to place
1:31:05 I hope we get to come back to uh next
1:31:07 weekend. Just a little preview.
1:31:09 Knoxville, another football stadium.
1:31:11 101,000 people. Darn. How many gizzies
1:31:13 and burgers are you going to serve up
1:31:15 for the wonderful people of East
1:31:16 Tennessee?
1:31:16 >> Well, that is actually up to the man in
1:31:18 the yellow tux cuz typically I only cook
1:31:21 uh when we're the headliner and we are
1:31:22 not the headliner. So, I may get a
1:31:23 weekend off of the grill. Maybe a rehab
1:31:26 need a rehab start at home with my
1:31:28 family. So, maybe I'll [music] do that.
1:31:29 I'll do a rehab grill start at home.
1:31:31 >> How many of you cook me personally?
1:31:34 >> Well, [music] I mean our overunder view
1:31:35 is usually seven and a half on the
1:31:36 weekend. So, I think we're going to
1:31:38 hammer the over, baby. Hammer it. Hammer
1:31:41 the over.
1:31:42 >> Coach, this is great. I love you, my
1:31:43 friend.
1:31:44 >> Love you, too, brother. Appreciate you.
1:31:45 >> Yes, sir. That's Andrew Bartman, man. I
1:31:47 tell you what, he's legitimately one of
1:31:50 the best humans I've ever met. You know,
1:31:53 Bart brought me to a [cheering] dinner
1:31:56 with Coach Miklick and Brandon
1:31:58 Pennington my second night in Savannah
1:32:01 ever when I moved down there and was
1:32:03 able to take this job. And ever since
1:32:05 then, Coach Bart and I have been like
1:32:06 two peas in a pod. He's a guy you can
1:32:08 literally talk to anything about.
1:32:09 Whether it be about banana ball, whether
1:32:11 it be about life, whether it be about
1:32:13 tailgating, he is a wonderful resource
1:32:15 that these players have that we have
1:32:16 from both an entertainment perspective
1:32:18 as you just seen as a hitting coach,
1:32:20 which is also being put on display
1:32:21 tonight. And just as a human being and a
1:32:23 leader in that clubhouse and among that
1:32:24 coaching staff, happy he was able to
1:32:26 join us here tonight. It's 89 and 10.
1:32:29 Dmac Dmac and South Treble. That's
1:32:31 right.
1:32:31 >> Can Bart save me a burger? I'm sure he
1:32:34 would if you asked him.
1:32:35 >> I wanted to ask him, but you guys were
1:32:36 having such a good conversation, I
1:32:37 didn't want to interrupt. Everything's
1:32:39 going wrong right now.
1:32:41 >> I thought that was good for the
1:32:42 broadcast.
1:32:42 >> Well, of course. Yes. And also, the
1:32:44 Texas Tailgator walked off the inning,
1:32:45 so you guys are just plused out of your
1:32:47 brains over there.
1:32:49 >> I just want a burger.
1:32:50 >> Darren McDow 0 and2
1:32:55 reached [music] via trick play missed in
1:32:57 his long play appearance thus far.
1:33:01 You know, talk about guys not dealing
1:33:02 with the heat well. Darien was not
1:33:05 dealing with the heat well at all at all
1:33:06 backstage earlier today.
1:33:07 >> Told me they needed an ice bath
1:33:09 immediately. [snorts]
1:33:10 >> He quite literally sat in the AC so long
1:33:12 they had to pull him out of the locker
1:33:13 room for warm-ups today.
1:33:15 >> Yep.
1:33:15 >> I was much of the same though to be
1:33:17 honest with you.
1:33:19 >> The dude is from Pensacola, Florida,
1:33:22 >> where it gets
1:33:24 twice as humid. You sweat
1:33:27 incredibly a lot. as that one goes foul.
1:33:30 Incredibly a lot is grammatically
1:33:31 incorrect. But we move
1:33:32 >> incredibly a lot.
1:33:34 >> But if you can break the records that he
1:33:36 did at West Florida, [cheering]
1:33:40 >> take however much heat you want.
1:33:41 >> Sunonny tried to get it. Instead, it'll
1:33:44 be a leadoff single. The first hit of
1:33:46 the night for Darian McDow. Second time
1:33:48 he's reached.
1:33:55 McFaten is escorting tonight's
1:33:57 firefighter of the night. The 2025 El
1:34:01 Paso firefighter of the year, Captain
1:34:04 Christopher Zapata.
1:34:07 [cheering]
1:34:08 For 23 years, Captain Zapata has proudly
1:34:11 served the El Paso community with
1:34:14 dedication, leadership, and heart. He
1:34:17 serves on squad one sea shift at a fire
1:34:20 station 5, protecting and serving the
1:34:23 surrounding area with professionalism
1:34:25 and commitment every single day. Captain
1:34:28 Sapata also serves as the regional
1:34:30 hazmat task force coordinator, leading
1:34:33 specialized emergency response efforts
1:34:36 throughout the region. Captain Zapata
1:34:38 would like to take this moment to
1:34:39 publicly thank God for the many
1:34:41 blessings and opportunities throughout
1:34:43 his [music] life and his extended
1:34:45 deepest gratitude to his family and his
1:34:47 station family for their unwavering
1:34:49 support and always having his back. El
1:34:52 Paso, Texas. Tonight's firefighter of
1:34:56 the night, Captain [cheering]
1:34:58 Christopher Zapata.
1:35:06 23 years of service here to the El Paso
1:35:09 community on a team that boasts the
1:35:12 pitcher of the year in banana ball. We
1:35:13 host the firefighter of the year here in
1:35:15 El Paso. A salute to Captain Christopher
1:35:18 Zapata and all the great firefighters
1:35:20 who serve our communities. How cool is
1:35:21 that sportsmanship we seen there as DMAC
1:35:24 singles in the lap. Noah Bridges also
1:35:26 now running, advances up to second. The
1:35:28 the the honor and the sportsmanship
1:35:32 there to break down the barrier of
1:35:33 competitiveness. Taj Porter shaking his
1:35:36 hand. Christian Davis coming out with
1:35:37 the game ball and the handing it off to
1:35:40 our fighter firefighter of the night.
1:35:42 That was really really neat. Something
1:35:44 you don't see too often. Here in the top
1:35:45 of the fifth, none out. Firefighters got
1:35:47 him on first and second and it's south
1:35:49 at the dish. Mr. Tremble,
1:35:52 >> he's at 1 and0.
1:35:57 >> Who is running it first? I know Noah
1:35:59 Bridges designated runners running at
1:36:00 second. Who's running it first?
1:36:02 >> That would be Zack Phillips.
1:36:04 >> Wow.
1:36:04 >> Yep.
1:36:06 >> Firefighters are unafraid to use
1:36:08 pitchers [music] as pinch runners or
1:36:10 designated runners, but usually it's
1:36:11 been Javon Ray.
1:36:15 >> And Javon threw last night, so he would
1:36:18 be available to run here tonight. Two
1:36:20 balls and two strikes. CD
1:36:23 got him. Backwards K for Mr. Davis for
1:36:27 out number one here in the top of the
1:36:28 fifth.
1:36:30 >> He's very quietly gotten himself up to
1:36:32 four strikeouts. [music] And it's not
1:36:33 just the induced trick plays tonight. He
1:36:35 is blowing stuff right by him.
1:36:40 >> Goes to the same spot to begin with.
1:36:42 Tyler Hughes ball.
1:36:48 Tiny having a great night double and a
1:36:50 single.
1:36:55 >> Brett, the only blip on his radar
1:36:57 tonight was getting caught stealing on a
1:37:00 three- 0 count.
1:37:03 >> No, no, no. I I
1:37:05 >> Jordan Bar between the legs for one
1:37:07 BETWEEN THE LEGS. SUNNY BUCKET. Book it.
1:37:12 543 in the LONE STAR STATE. YOU KNOW WE
1:37:14 HAD TO DO IT OVERLY.
1:37:17 That is now 12 trick plays for the Texas
1:37:20 Tailgator and it gets them out of the
1:37:21 frame too.
1:37:23 >> They just That is the fifth double trick
1:37:26 play we've seen out of the Texas
1:37:28 Tailgator tonight as we send it down the
1:37:31 field for something a little special.
1:37:35 [music]
1:37:36 [singing]
1:37:40 Down
1:37:42 [singing and music]
1:37:49 you and me together.
1:38:05 But all I know is everything's [music]
1:38:08 going
1:38:16 [music]
1:38:17 away.
1:38:21 No [music] one [singing]
1:38:27 can get in the way of what [music] I
1:38:30 feel for you.
1:38:33 All around the number one Christian
1:38:37 Dearman,
1:38:39 [music]
1:38:41 >> the master of the kear walking into
1:38:44 Alicia Keys. Christian Dearman, the
1:38:47 longtime banana baller on his third
1:38:50 world tour with the firefighters here in
1:38:53 the marvelous 2026. [music] You look at
1:38:55 his numbers. Yeah, that erra. I think
1:38:58 we'd like to get that down. But hey,
1:39:00 LOOK AT THAT NPI 40 SECONDS.
1:39:03 I think that's historic, isn't it?
1:39:07 >> Yeah, that's something. Hey, Dear hasn't
1:39:10 pitched a ton here in 2026 as an
1:39:12 entertainer player. He's had a great
1:39:14 relationship with every crowd we've been
1:39:17 at and with and in front of this year.
1:39:19 This could be a really important ABN
1:39:21 inning for the confidence of CD against
1:39:23 the biggest, the largest, the biggest,
1:39:25 the largest, the quad father. Taj Bor
1:39:29 had a sprint his first time up. He would
1:39:32 not be 0 for one. He would not have it
1:39:34 that bad. That was a [music] play
1:39:35 appearance. Technically still 0 for0
1:39:37 tonight.
1:39:41 >> Ball in a strike.
1:39:44 That NPI 10 minutes and 40 seconds by
1:39:46 the way of Christian Dear. T Schwatz to
1:39:49 right. [music] Now he's one for one with
1:39:52 a leadoff single.
1:39:58 And that appears to be it for Christian
1:40:00 Dearman as Blake Morgan is running on
1:40:02 out there. So
1:40:04 >> CD will get the walk up and then if the
1:40:07 walk-off happens from the Texas
1:40:09 Tailgator, the run will be earned by him
1:40:12 as Jason Art. My July even though it's
1:40:14 May [music]
1:40:15 comes on in. Blake Morgan get a couple
1:40:16 of warm-up pitches. Former UNC
1:40:18 Wilmington star pitcher, the lefty
1:40:20 throwing to his old college teammate.
1:40:23 Last couple of outings have been much
1:40:24 better for him after a shaky start to
1:40:26 the year, but four and two/3s
1:40:29 rather respectable numbers in your first
1:40:30 year.
1:40:33 Dodge running for himself over at first
1:40:36 because of the rule that Andrew Bartman
1:40:38 just explained to us when he was miked
1:40:39 up in the bottom of the four fourth.
1:40:43 Jason Art gets caught going around. Your
1:40:45 designated runner can only be used once
1:40:47 through the order. Jacob Peppersick has
1:40:49 already been used during this time
1:40:51 through the order. Jason Art hitting in
1:40:52 the eight hold would not be able to use
1:40:54 Pippers again until Zack Watson yet
1:40:56 again. Jason Art goes around Beimo
1:40:59 spinning him and he's gotten ahead of
1:41:01 ball in two strikes.
1:41:11 at [music] UNCC Wilmington
1:41:15 >> had a big impact on why Val Perez ended
1:41:17 up taking Beimo in the player draft.
1:41:20 Jason holds up that time. The manager on
1:41:24 those teams, none other than the
1:41:26 firefighters videographer, Matthew
1:41:28 [music] Sto. There a lot of UNC
1:41:30 Wilmington connections within that
1:41:32 firefighters clubhouse at our front
1:41:33 office. Chopper foul.
1:41:35 >> DMAC trying to make the play over there.
1:41:38 It's just a UNCC Wilmington reunion here
1:41:41 with the firefighters. And Beimo likes
1:41:42 to throw hard, goes with a lot of heat.
1:41:45 And right now he [music] needs one
1:41:46 across the plate with a full count.
1:41:52 Oh, ball for Brett. The biggest, the
1:41:55 largest is on his horse, THE QUADFATHER.
1:41:58 LOOK AT THAT man move. If that doesn't
1:42:01 make you feel something, your something
1:42:02 feeler is broken.
1:42:05 As now we have the third point of the
1:42:07 ball game. Standing 90 ft away as
1:42:10 Indiana Stanley steps up at the dish.
1:42:12 >> I'm feeling something. All right.
1:42:15 >> Pain
1:42:17 infield in for the firefighters.
1:42:22 >> You make me giggle. Zack St.
1:42:23 >> I know if I can get one of those
1:42:25 chuckles out of you, I've done something
1:42:26 good in this world.
1:42:27 >> I don't break either. None in broadcast
1:42:29 except for the seven times I already
1:42:30 have tonight. [laughter]
1:42:32 The 10. Indie floats IT DEEP RIGHT
1:42:36 FIELD.
1:42:38 AND IT GETS CAUGHT at the bottom of the
1:42:40 fence. Make it three straight innings in
1:42:43 which the Texas Tailgator have walked it
1:42:45 off. And they take a commanding three to
1:42:47 nothing lead at the end of five frames.
1:42:50 Mr. Stanley, he needed that. He wanted
1:42:53 that. He had to have it.
1:42:59 >> It's just been that kind of night here.
1:43:01 >> Let's salute the troops on National Arms
1:43:04 Forces Day.
1:43:06 On this National Military Appreciation
1:43:09 Day, fans, please join the tailgator and
1:43:12 the firefighters in honoring the brave
1:43:14 men and women who have served and
1:43:16 continue to serve this great nation as
1:43:19 we salute our hometown heroes of the
1:43:22 night. Because of your sacrifice,
1:43:25 courage, and commitment, we enjoy the
1:43:28 freedoms that we celebrate today. Thank
1:43:30 you for your service and dedication to
1:43:33 our great country.
1:43:36 to our police officers,
1:43:40 >> to our firefighters,
1:43:43 >> to our nurses,
1:43:46 to our EMS workers,
1:43:49 TO OUR DISPATCHERS,
1:43:51 AND to our school teachers,
1:43:55 [cheering] the tailgators, and the
1:43:57 firefighters. Thank you.
1:44:10 Christian Davis. You know the name, you
1:44:13 love the human and the left-handed
1:44:15 pitcher. So, he's going to begin his
1:44:17 sixth inning of work. This will be the
1:44:19 third time this year that Christian
1:44:21 Davis has pitched in the sixth inning.
1:44:24 He's only finished the sixth inning
1:44:26 once. When was that, you may ask?
1:44:28 >> Game one of the Banana Bowl Open against
1:44:30 these firefighters. He has induced 12
1:44:33 trick plays tonight. He has not
1:44:35 relinquished a point in the four runs he
1:44:37 allowed in the first all of those
1:44:39 unearned
1:44:41 >> as he will face the MVP front runner
1:44:44 Kaden Green, Logan Lacy, and Daltton
1:44:46 Cornet.
1:44:47 >> There's a strike to Peanut.
1:44:49 >> Peanut [music] yet to reach tonight on a
1:44:51 hit. Got through on an error on Jordan
1:44:53 Hussein.
1:44:56 Uncle Charlie says good afternoon and
1:44:59 gets ahead 0 and two on that curve ball
1:45:01 from CD.
1:45:03 >> Got him CD. Put the CD on and never turn
1:45:08 it off.
1:45:09 >> The fifth strike OUT OF TONIGHT FOR MR.
1:45:11 DAVIS.
1:45:13 He's turned the story right back on the
1:45:15 firefighters from what Donnie did to him
1:45:17 twice. fan the flame there
1:45:21 as Kaden Green can do nothing but walk
1:45:23 back as Logan Lacy steps in. And if the
1:45:25 firefighters are going to come back,
1:45:27 they've got to get it going now.
1:45:39 Jordan Hussein between the legs. Bookets
1:45:44 trick play number 13 tonight for the
1:45:47 boys in blue and orange.
1:45:50 >> Wow.
1:45:53 Tailgator banana ball. It doesn't get
1:45:56 much better than this. And Christian
1:45:59 Davis at the conclusion of five and
1:46:01 two/3 is going to hit the worm and go
1:46:04 off of the field at arguably the best
1:46:07 outing he's had in a regular season game
1:46:09 in his banana ball career. Zack
1:46:11 Blankenship now coming on [music] the
1:46:12 pitch. I would just love to wax
1:46:14 poetically a moment by Christian Davis
1:46:15 though. Five and two/3 CD five
1:46:19 strikeouts induced 12 trick play excuse
1:46:22 me 13 trick plays. That is arguably one
1:46:25 of the best performances we've seen
1:46:26 tonight on a night where Brett Helton
1:46:28 threw a complete game in Indianapolis
1:46:30 for the Party Animals. Two of the best
1:46:31 pitching performances we have seen in
1:46:34 2026 in Banana Bowl as Bam Bam falls
1:46:36 behind one and0 to Daltton Cornet. His
1:46:39 former teammate with the Party Animals
1:46:41 hit out to center. Indiana Stanley comes
1:46:43 in, but it's Sunshine tip drill. Bucket,
1:46:47 bucket.
1:46:49 That's seven straight games the Texas
1:46:52 Tailgator have recorded 15 trick plays.
1:46:55 TRICKORATION overload here in Texas. My
1:47:00 gosh.
1:47:03 As there's a girl on fire on the field.
1:47:08 Ladies and gentlemen, we have searched
1:47:10 far and wide for the strongest citizen
1:47:12 in all of El Paso to compete in a good
1:47:16 old-fashioned tugof-war against our very
1:47:19 own firefighter, BK.
1:47:23 He's a strong guy. So, let's hope we got
1:47:25 a strong contestant to compete against
1:47:27 BK. Ladies and gentlemen, MAKE SOME
1:47:29 NOISE FOR SEVEN-YEAR-OLD ALINA.
1:47:36 All right, Alina, do you think you are
1:47:39 strong enough to compete in tugof-war
1:47:41 against BK?
1:47:43 >> Yes.
1:47:44 >> She says she's strong enough. Pick up
1:47:47 your side of the rope. On your mark, get
1:47:50 set. Tug of war. [groaning]
1:47:55 There's There's no way you're serious
1:47:57 right now. Hey, hey, we need more
1:47:58 people. Get somebody else get on,
1:48:00 [music]
1:48:01 guys. Guys, you're making it You're
1:48:03 making us look bad. Get more. More. We
1:48:06 need more. She's really strong. Get on
1:48:08 there, guys. Pull. Pull.
1:48:18 [cheering]
1:48:23 >> Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise
1:48:25 for 7-year-old Alina.
1:48:29 [cheering]
1:48:37 I love tugof-war. Zack Stton and I in
1:48:40 our youth, both very different eras,
1:48:42 used to participate in that.
1:48:44 >> I love Zack Ston, too. And I love this
1:48:46 guy, too. Austin [music] Temple. Let's
1:48:48 wax poetically about the Notre Dame
1:48:50 grad, Zack St.
1:48:50 >> Why wouldn't we wax poetically about
1:48:52 Austin Temple? Because he is a man on a
1:48:54 mission here, trying to get the momentum
1:48:56 back for the firefighters. Hey, look,
1:48:58 this is a guy 19 strikeouts on the year.
1:49:00 The problem has been the ball four
1:49:02 sprints, but boy, [music] if he's not
1:49:04 there, if he's locked in like he was
1:49:06 last week, he truly can get the
1:49:08 firefighters readjusted [music] and get
1:49:10 him back into this thing. But they have
1:49:12 to get a clean inning here. You cannot
1:49:14 have another bad inning. And we cannot
1:49:18 have another inning without hearing from
1:49:20 the Lonear guy himself, Lamar Sparks.
1:49:24 Already a homer on the evening. Lamar,
1:49:26 how you doing?
1:49:27 >> I'm doing good, man. And it's Hey, this
1:49:28 is a
1:49:29 >> dude. It's good to hear you,
1:49:30 >> man. This is a field and a half, man.
1:49:32 This is
1:49:33 >> You hit a home run in a half a little
1:49:34 bit earlier ago. Right off the batters
1:49:36 out of dead center field, dude.
1:49:38 >> Yes, sir. Man, that was a great
1:49:39 experience.
1:49:39 >> Wasn't a great experience back here in
1:49:41 your home state for the first time in
1:49:43 your banana ball career. Austin Temple
1:49:45 loads up to high shot by Peanut with the
1:49:50 glove.
1:49:51 But hey, being back home for the first
1:49:52 time, knowing we're going back to Corpus
1:49:54 Christie in a couple weeks, how special
1:49:56 is this 3-week period for you?
1:49:58 >> This is a special experience, man. It
1:50:00 really is because,
1:50:02 you know, a lot of different things
1:50:03 about El Paso and feel like it's a grand
1:50:07 experience, man. Everybody here is nice,
1:50:09 so humble, so genuine, and um it's just
1:50:12 been a great experience being back in my
1:50:13 home state.
1:50:14 >> Truly has been a great experience
1:50:15 watching you be able to spark up a lot
1:50:18 of power here. No pun intended.
1:50:19 Actually, you know what? pun intended
1:50:21 >> on that one. How many people have asked
1:50:23 about that? Having the perfect name for
1:50:26 the fire and flames.
1:50:27 >> I get it a lot, man. Um, everywhere I
1:50:29 go, it's like, "Wait, your name is
1:50:30 actually Sparks? They put you on the
1:50:31 firefighters because Sparks?" I'm like,
1:50:34 "Um, I don't think so." But if
1:50:36 >> Fan opportunity not to be. Also, just
1:50:41 for those at home, in E6, that last play
1:50:43 was officially correct.
1:50:46 >> Back to Lamar.
1:50:47 >> Yeah.
1:50:49 Sorry, I lost my B.
1:50:51 >> That's all right. I've lost a lot of
1:50:52 thinking out here. Let's be very clear
1:50:54 here. There's there's a lot of stuff
1:50:55 going on.
1:50:56 >> That question happen again.
1:50:56 >> Your your first two months, we'll move
1:50:58 on to a new one. Your first two months
1:50:59 of banana ball. Five home runs. You've
1:51:01 moved full time into the lineup here in
1:51:03 the conversation, I think, for one of
1:51:04 the top two or three true rookies in
1:51:07 this sport. What's been the biggest
1:51:09 adjustment learning curve for you as
1:51:11 you've started your time with the
1:51:12 firefighters? Is that Watson gets played
1:51:14 again?
1:51:14 >> Second time W's got hit on the margin
1:51:17 today.
1:51:18 for the
1:51:19 >> but him and Zachary Bridges shared a
1:51:21 moment. That's good to see.
1:51:22 >> I hate that for a while. That's my boy.
1:51:24 So, [music] small story. Uh me and
1:51:27 Watson played together with the Orioles.
1:51:30 >> So, I remember I went to Houston um to
1:51:33 watch and tailgator play. Zack Phillips
1:51:36 invited me to go walked into uh Zack
1:51:39 Watson after
1:51:42 what he told me about been absolutely
1:51:45 true. It has been a special experience.
1:51:48 It's something I absolutely love.
1:51:50 Getting to meet fans, getting to
1:51:51 interact with people. That's what I
1:51:52 love. You know, um playing playing pro
1:51:55 ball, you know, you don't get to
1:51:57 interact with people as much. They kind
1:51:58 of tell you, you know, not necessarily
1:52:00 the same way, but you know,
1:52:03 it just don't interact as much. But
1:52:05 here, it's like we were interacting
1:52:06 every day. And I example yesterday, I
1:52:09 didn't do so well. And I walk out there
1:52:10 and I was greeted with smiling faces
1:52:12 telling me was and how fun it was. I'm
1:52:14 like, man, that turned a smile on my
1:52:16 face. It It's just It's electric. It's
1:52:19 awesome.
1:52:19 >> Special place we get to be a part of.
1:52:20 Special double play. Your middle infield
1:52:22 just turned there. Getting you two outs.
1:52:24 90 ft away. Still stands point number
1:52:26 four for the tailgator as Kyle [music]
1:52:28 Martin gets ahead 2 and 0. What has it
1:52:30 been like to play here in El Paso? The
1:52:32 first time you've ever played here.
1:52:34 >> It's it's electric. Um buddies that play
1:52:36 here normally and uh so I reached out to
1:52:39 them and asked them how it was. They
1:52:40 said, "Man, just wait till you see
1:52:41 [music] the environment." Hey, three.
1:52:45 >> And so, so far, like I said, so much
1:52:47 people. I mean, from the staff to the
1:52:49 workers to the fans to everybody. It's
1:52:52 just been something special. First ball
1:52:54 four spread in the month brings home yet
1:52:57 another point and run for the Texas
1:53:00 Tailgator as they take a four to nothing
1:53:02 lead. The auction continues to be the
1:53:05 best hitter arguably in the sport.
1:53:06 Lamari, thank you so much for joining
1:53:09 us. Welcome back to the Lone Star State.
1:53:10 Love you, my friend. Love you guys, too.
1:53:12 Is there any way I can stay mocked up in
1:53:13 my bat? I'm about to hit.
1:53:14 >> We'll see you in a moment. First, we
1:53:16 have to go down to the field for Boot
1:53:17 Scoot and Boogie.
1:53:19 We want to celebrate that. So, joining
1:53:21 me down on the field, we have a whole
1:53:23 bunch of kids who are just now getting
1:53:25 their boot collection started. They
1:53:27 borrowed the boots of their parents and
1:53:29 they're going to have a race. They're
1:53:31 going to start down here and they're
1:53:32 going to make their way to the finish
1:53:33 line. The first one there will be the
1:53:36 winner of a race we like to call the
1:53:38 boot, scoot, and boogie.
1:53:41 Let's go ahead and meet all of our
1:53:42 contestants. We've got Jonathan. We've
1:53:45 got Isaac. We've got Nolan. We've got
1:53:47 Liam. We've got Mia. We've got Daniel.
1:53:49 We've got Mason. We've got Sienna. And
1:53:52 we've got Aiden. One of these children
1:53:54 will win the boot scoot and boogie. The
1:53:56 question is who? Ladies and gentlemen,
1:54:01 on your mark,
1:54:03 get Liam's foot in that boot.
1:54:06 Get set.
1:54:08 Scoot. And they're going. They got to
1:54:11 KEEP BOTH BOOTS ON. WE HAVE A BALL. AND
1:54:14 THERE IT IS. THE WINNER OF THE BOOT
1:54:16 SCOOT AND BOOGIE. It's Mia.
1:54:22 >> That was cool. Little boot scoot and
1:54:24 boogie.
1:54:26 Not the kind of Brooks and Don, but
1:54:28 nonetheless, still all the same. New
1:54:30 pitcher in the ball game for the Texas
1:54:33 Tailgator. Jonathan Hughes. Good friend
1:54:36 of Lamar Sparks. Naval Flowery Branch
1:54:39 Georgia through five years at Georgia
1:54:41 Tech. Worthy to note milestone watch.
1:54:45 Jonathan Sunshine Lutters has seven
1:54:47 trick plays in this ball game. The
1:54:49 single game banana ball record is eight.
1:54:53 Hit to the right side. Cal Martin breaks
1:54:55 in and then it gets over his head. Eric
1:54:58 Jones Jr. will be on his horse and have
1:55:01 a stand up leadoff double. Some momentum
1:55:03 that firefighters need badly. [music]
1:55:05 Haven't scored since the first.
1:55:07 Nope.
1:55:08 >> And they're going to need to climb the
1:55:09 mountain as high as the one surrounding
1:55:11 this ballpark. That's a good way to
1:55:13 start it, but it's a long way back. Eric
1:55:15 Jones Jr. That'll sure help. Ooh, Noah
1:55:18 Bridges is in center field.
1:55:32 >> Brett, [music] no one bridges
1:55:36 scoot. And he's dreamy.
1:55:39 >> Sorry, I thought we were No, no, you're
1:55:41 >> I thought we were going for the same
1:55:42 thing there.
1:55:44 >> This was the first time I was ever going
1:55:45 to say something good about him before
1:55:47 that he's hot. But yeah, he's hot. Very
1:55:50 hot. And he's the designated runner. So,
1:55:52 you know what? He runs out of center
1:55:54 field to second base, hits the
1:55:56 heartbreak kid pose right there. Noah
1:55:59 Bridges dreamy.
1:56:02 >> Lamar Sparks facing his good friend
1:56:04 Jonathan Hughes.
1:56:08 one and up.
1:56:11 >> Just heard from Lamar. He's actually
1:56:12 become a level 300 chess player
1:56:14 recently.
1:56:17 >> You know who taught him that, by the
1:56:18 way?
1:56:19 >> Talk to him.
1:56:19 >> The guy who just hitting a double, Eric
1:56:21 Jones Jr. picked it up in Witchah last
1:56:24 week.
1:56:29 >> Chopper left side. Jordan Bar behind the
1:56:32 back.
1:56:34 No, he didn't. Book it.
1:56:38 That was incredible from Princess JB.
1:56:42 Wow. Already two home runs tonight. And
1:56:46 then that.
1:56:49 That's disgusting.
1:56:51 That's the athleticism that made him a
1:56:53 second round pick for the Texas
1:56:55 Tailgator. Good lord, man.
1:56:59 16 trick plays. We mentioned Sunshine's
1:57:03 individual potential trick play record
1:57:04 on watch night. Tailgators [music] are
1:57:06 five away from tying the Savannah
1:57:08 Bananas for the single game team record.
1:57:10 Mason Maxwell hits it down the line.
1:57:12 Hits the justosition down there
1:57:15 as switching places will be Mr. Bridges
1:57:18 and Mr. Maxwell as Mason has his second
1:57:20 double of the weekend. And [music] the
1:57:21 firefighters have their first run since
1:57:23 the first inning. I do appreciate you
1:57:25 saying that at the top of this inning
1:57:27 because guess what? MAYBE THE ANNOUNCERS
1:57:28 JINX does work with what Zack Watson
1:57:30 said. Who knows? But you know what?
1:57:32 Firefighters need it. They need a clean
1:57:34 half in the seventh inning on the bottom
1:57:37 side of it. This is a good way to start
1:57:39 out.
1:57:41 Clean bottom, by the way. You should
1:57:42 always strive for that.
1:57:46 I got him again.
1:57:49 Two holes in those strikes to Mr. McDow
1:57:54 who is one for two tonight. Not two for
1:57:56 two, one for two tonight.
1:58:00 currently in the driver's seat here.
1:58:01 Three balls and no strikes.
1:58:11 >> And another run here for the
1:58:13 firefighters on a ball for sprint.
1:58:15 Darien chooses to stay at first.
1:58:19 >> They'll have to run it first because
1:58:20 obviously the designated runner has
1:58:22 already been used in this half inning.
1:58:25 But hey, the firefighters now [music]
1:58:26 with two on the board. And that's big
1:58:29 time as old DMAC
1:58:31 steps into the box.
1:58:33 >> Yeah.
1:58:36 >> Hit out the sunshine between the legs.
1:58:39 BOOK IT TO FIRST.
1:58:41 NOT IN TIME. THAT TIES THE SINGLE GAME
1:58:45 BANANA ball record for the most trick
1:58:47 plays by a player
1:58:49 >> in our sports history. That was number
1:58:52 eight for Jonathan Sunshine Looters. He
1:58:54 is now one away from breaking the single
1:58:57 game banana ball record.
1:59:02 Cold strike
1:59:06 to South Treble
1:59:08 left side. Jordan Hussein can't get to
1:59:10 it.
1:59:12 A two out single for Mr. Treble. His
1:59:14 first hit of the night. We'll turn over
1:59:16 the lineup card to the top in form of
1:59:18 Tiner Hughes. Five games in the lineup
1:59:20 for Smoke and he's had a hit in each of
1:59:22 those five contests. That's why Val
1:59:25 Perez put him in center field tonight to
1:59:26 get him an AB like that and he puts
1:59:29 another one on here in the top [music]
1:59:31 of the seventh.
1:59:34 What a curveball to get Tiny [music]
1:59:36 started there. Wow. Jonathan Hughes man,
1:59:38 elite stuff.
1:59:41 >> 0 and2 on him now.
1:59:44 >> You're not taking in the second round
1:59:46 out of high school for no reason.
1:59:48 [music]
1:59:48 Legos as Jonathan Hughes was in 2015.
1:59:52 Got him. Shows it off right there. Ties
1:59:55 back picks it first just for good
1:59:57 measure. Strike out to end the inning
1:59:59 for Mr. Hughes. And Jonathan Sunshine
2:00:03 looters. Ties the single game individual
2:00:06 trick play record with eight. And
2:00:09 there's still six more outs for him to
2:00:11 break it.
2:00:13 >> For the firefighters to go to the top of
2:00:14 the seventh and get two. You need a
2:00:17 clean half here. And Ben Dum is coming
2:00:19 out to take the mound.
2:00:22 [cheering]
2:00:28 Next week in Banana Bowl, this concludes
2:00:31 matters here this weekend. [cheering]
2:00:33 Final game here tonight. You're watching
2:00:35 it. Next weekend, oh boy, we got a fun
2:00:38 one. Tailgator's bananas play in the
2:00:40 home of the Knoxville Smokies where
2:00:43 we were able to see Chris Clark throw
2:00:46 last year. Now he'll throw this year as
2:00:48 a Texas tailgator. They will be at
2:00:49 Neland Stadium on Saturday evening. Be
2:00:51 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time. Coconuts
2:00:53 firefighters not at 10 p.m. Eastern. 700
2:00:56 p.m. Eastern in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
2:00:59 Again, [cheering] full disclosure,
2:01:00 please don't tune in at 10 p.m. The game
2:01:02 will already be over. That's 700 p.m.
2:01:04 Eastern. clowns and party animals that
2:01:06 switched. That game will be at 10 p.m.
2:01:09 Eastern in Tacoma, Washington.
2:01:11 >> Yeah, you can bet your bottom dollar I
2:01:12 will be watching the animals YouTube at
2:01:14 10 p.m. Eastern on Friday. I will not be
2:01:16 in this booth yelling at you. I will be
2:01:19 yelling, however, for the next 30
2:01:20 seconds or so about the reigning and
2:01:22 defending Banana Ball pitcher of the
2:01:25 year and Benjamin Dumb III. He loves ice
2:01:29 cream, sweet treats, and throwing that
2:01:32 beautiful slider as he goes up against
2:01:34 Jordan Bar with two home runs on his
2:01:36 resume tonight.
2:01:39 Can JB hit number three
2:01:47 now? Right here, high in the sky out to
2:01:50 right. It will fall.
2:01:53 Three for three for Mr. Bar.
2:01:57 And you see the power has already
2:01:58 affected the firefighters. Darren McDow
2:02:00 was playing way back. Diner Hughes
2:02:04 couldn't get up there from his second
2:02:05 [music] base spot. Daren McDow would
2:02:07 have had to have run a mile to try to
2:02:09 get that one. And it's a single. Single
2:02:12 game home run record, by the way, is
2:02:13 three. So Jordan Bar, if he could hit
2:02:16 another one, will tie another record. If
2:02:18 you're just joining us, Jonathan
2:02:19 Sunshine Lutters has tied the single
2:02:21 game individual trick play record with
2:02:23 eight here tonight.
2:02:26 Benam
2:02:28 >> between the legs bucket for out number
2:02:31 one. Just the third trick play tonight
2:02:33 for these firefighters, but it's out
2:02:36 number one here in an inning where
2:02:37 they're trying to score the first point
2:02:38 of the night. Also worthy tonight, 17 to
2:02:41 three in the trick play battle.
2:02:42 Tailgator are four away from tying the
2:02:46 single game team record in trick plays.
2:02:48 Lot of records to be on the lookout for
2:02:50 here tonight in El Paso [music] as Jose
2:02:52 Gonzalez falls behind 0 and one.
2:02:56 Make it 02.
2:02:58 >> By the way, Ben Dum's first trick play
2:02:59 of the year.
2:03:01 >> Yay.
2:03:03 >> Floated left side. Peanut
2:03:07 >> won't do it for the love of the game cuz
2:03:08 Lord knows they can't get the equalizer
2:03:10 point. We'll just make it for out number
2:03:12 two.
2:03:13 >> And I don't say that disrespectfully. I
2:03:14 just say that from a point of
2:03:16 >> 17 to three in trick plays.
2:03:17 >> You need the outs. You need the outs.
2:03:20 If it was 17 to three and trick plays in
2:03:22 the second inning, it's over.
2:03:26 >> That's mathematically impossible.
2:03:27 >> I understand. I'm just saying
2:03:29 hypothetically.
2:03:31 Speaking hypodermically.
2:03:32 >> Shout out Prince.
2:03:35 >> Foul tip. 0 and2. TP has not been
2:03:38 retired yet tonight. A ball for sprint
2:03:40 and a single. He is one for one.
2:03:45 Oh, handstand pitch that goes to the
2:03:47 back stop. Jordan Bar would advance him
2:03:50 up another 90 ft.
2:03:52 >> Well, I stood up out of my seat to see
2:03:55 Bendum throw one to Stilts and Stilts
2:03:59 wasn't there.
2:04:07 >> Someone said something about bunting in
2:04:09 the chat. We don't bunt in banana ball
2:04:12 because bunting sucks.
2:04:13 >> Thank you, Zach.
2:04:17 Got him. Ben Dum the third. A scoreless
2:04:21 frame and will earn the first point of
2:04:22 the night for the firefighters making it
2:04:24 a four to one ball game.
2:04:26 >> Ben Dun the third gets the third out OF
2:04:29 THE INNING WITH A BIG OKAY. AND THE
2:04:31 firefighters finally have some momentum.
2:04:33 They need a lot of it though as we go
2:04:36 into the eighth inning. Brett. But hey,
2:04:37 after a handstand pitch, that is a
2:04:39 beautiful moving heater up top.
2:04:41 >> The difference between being down by
2:04:43 four points and three points. big
2:04:45 between three and two astronomically
2:04:48 four to one ball game. Trick play battle
2:04:51 has not been close. 17 trick plays to
2:04:53 three tonight in favor of the Texas
2:04:55 tailgator. We've told you about all the
2:04:57 records that are on watch tonight.
2:04:58 Jonathan Luters needs one more to break
2:05:00 the single game individual record. The
2:05:02 tailgator need four more to tie the team
2:05:05 record here tonight. Nine hits for each
2:05:07 side. Four to one ball game. I mean, it
2:05:10 was a first inning, Zach, where again
2:05:12 started off on fire if you're the
2:05:14 firefighters. Four runs, including a
2:05:16 three-run jack from Lamar Sparks, but
2:05:18 then back-to-back home runs in the home
2:05:21 half for the Texas Tailgator. They
2:05:22 played four. That inning pushes and it
2:05:25 just seemed like all the momentum in the
2:05:26 world has been had by these tailgators
2:05:28 since Jonathan Hughes beginning his
2:05:30 second inning of work. There's his
2:05:32 season stats. He just lost the point in
2:05:34 the seventh by giving up those two run
2:05:36 two runs.
2:05:39 100%. Thank you, Zach. 13 strikeouts,
2:05:42 six ball, four spreads entering [music]
2:05:43 tonight.
2:05:43 >> Sorry, I thought you wanted to continue
2:05:44 to wax poetically about
2:05:46 >> You just looked at me like a lost puppy
2:05:47 dog just now.
2:05:48 >> Sorry, I was trying to look at something
2:05:49 in my scorebooks here as Kaden Peanut
2:05:50 Green comes on in. Firefighters have
2:05:52 nine hits.
2:05:53 >> Standoff pitch.
2:05:57 >> Standoff pitch. 10 paces [music]
2:06:00 on the border of Mexico.
2:06:03 We get the standoff of all standoffs.
2:06:06 Jonathan Hughes. Maybe we should call
2:06:08 him Jonathan Moonlight Hughes compared
2:06:10 to Jonathan Sunshine Looters.
2:06:14 >> Strike. Thank you for that, Zach. Thank
2:06:16 you. I usually talk over every standoff
2:06:19 pitch, but that was phenomenal. I really
2:06:20 enjoyed that.
2:06:21 >> Can I have one thing tonight?
2:06:24 >> You have that foul ball if you'd like
2:06:25 it. I'm sure Reggie Ligins would track
2:06:26 it down for you. Ow. And two.
2:06:31 >> Trick pitch from Jonathan Hughes.
2:06:34 Chopper left side Jordan Hussein.
2:06:39 Second error I presume that we have seen
2:06:42 tonight on Mr. Fiverr.
2:06:44 >> And ironically enough, it comes from the
2:06:46 firefighters short stop. Once again,
2:06:49 both errors have come off the bat of
2:06:51 Kaden Peanut Green should it stand as an
2:06:53 official E6.
2:06:58 >> Logan Lacy
2:07:00 0 for three tonight.
2:07:04 He's gone with the no batting gloves
2:07:06 look. It's really helped him since the
2:07:07 banana ball open. Won't help him there.
2:07:10 >> Yeah, Logan's been hitting up close to
2:07:12 350 since the open tonight. Hitless as
2:07:15 we just mentioned.
2:07:17 Stutterep.
2:07:18 Got him. Backwards K for the PC and the
2:07:23 second strike out of the night for Mr.
2:07:25 Hughes. Out number one here in the top
2:07:26 of the eighth.
2:07:28 >> Logan didn't like it. It does not
2:07:29 matter. You got to protect the plate
2:07:31 there as Lacy strolls back to the dugout
2:07:33 and brings up Daltton Cornet.
2:07:39 Taj [music] man, what a play. You know,
2:07:42 last night some uncharacteristic balls
2:07:44 that got away from Taj. It's because his
2:07:47 mitt was about to pop and then finally
2:07:49 did pop
2:07:50 in the ninth inning. New mid tonight.
2:07:53 Taj has bodied every single ball. Jordan
2:07:55 Bar tosses to Jordan Hussein BETWEEN THE
2:07:58 LEGS. BOOK IT.
2:08:01 HOW ABOUT THE BOYS IN BLUE AND ORANGE?
2:08:04 That's just one trick play, but 18-3.
2:08:08 And another double play. [music] They
2:08:10 don't get much better than this. 563 on
2:08:12 the double play.
2:08:14 And a scoreless frame for Jonathan
2:08:16 Hughes as we send it down to my friend
2:08:19 below Garrett Lampert for Friends in Low
2:08:21 Place.
2:08:22 >> Flashlights.
2:08:24 We are going to light up the Texas sky
2:08:26 here in El Paso all around the stadium.
2:08:31 Look at all those lights. And now, if
2:08:32 you would please join us in singing as
2:08:35 loud as you can a little Friends in low
2:08:38 places.
2:08:42 [music]
2:08:46 Blame it on my room. I showed up and
2:08:49 moves ruined your black t.
2:08:55 >> The last one to know, the last one to
2:08:58 show was the last one you thought you'd
2:09:02 see. There
2:09:03 >> you sound great. El Paso
2:09:06 and [music] the fear in [singing] his
2:09:07 eyes. When I took his glass of
2:09:11 champagne,
2:09:13 I toasted you said, "Honey, we may be
2:09:19 [music and singing]
2:09:21 one."
2:09:35 Now we don't care.
2:09:40 I'm not
2:09:44 thinking.
2:09:48 [cheering]
2:09:55 >> We love you so much, El Paso. Now, let's
2:09:59 cater on. [cheering]
2:10:09 >> [bell]
2:10:13 >> Ben Dun the third. He's my friend. He's
2:10:17 down there in low places as he'll begin
2:10:19 his second inning of work. Such a cool
2:10:22 night here in El Paso. A play, sack,
2:10:25 that has welcomed the middle children
2:10:28 matchup of banana ball, if you will.
2:10:30 Firefighters, the tailgator. None of the
2:10:33 series, the twoame series, never played
2:10:34 a three-game series until Charlotte
2:10:36 coming up in a few weekends have all
2:10:38 resulted in a split with the tailgator
2:10:40 winning game one, the firefighters
2:10:41 winning game two. We would need a big
2:10:44 time comeback
2:10:47 >> as Jonathan Sunshine Lutters
2:10:51 >> is going to come up and hit on his
2:10:52 unicycle.
2:10:54 >> Usually, ladies and gentlemen, I I'd be
2:10:57 much more excited about this. [music] I
2:10:58 would be, but because Sunshine is coming
2:11:00 in the game to hit on his unicycle, that
2:11:02 means he can no longer play defense, and
2:11:04 he was one trick play away from breaking
2:11:06 the single game record. He's already
2:11:08 tied the single game record, but he's
2:11:10 one trick play away from breaking it.
2:11:11 Nonetheless, a unicycle hit would be
2:11:14 great. It'd be wonderful.
2:11:16 >> Ben is trying to mimic the unicycle
2:11:18 motion on the mound.
2:11:20 >> Sunny [cheering]
2:11:22 trick play from Showtime. You know what?
2:11:25 Why not on a unicycle? Logan Lacy gets
2:11:29 his first trick play of the night off a
2:11:32 guy batting off one wheel. It's the one
2:11:34 thing that didn't work well for Sunshine
2:11:36 tonight. Logan Lacy. Showtime for a
2:11:39 reason.
2:11:41 >> Oh my gosh, that is way foul. And pardon
2:11:45 me, I I want to correct myself. Sunshine
2:11:49 just hit in the spot of the second
2:11:50 baseman. So Sunshine can come back out
2:11:52 and play defense in the ninth inning.
2:11:57 smothered by Peanut. Goes between the
2:11:59 legs. Dropped it first.
2:12:03 >> Trying to go for the trick play for the
2:12:04 love of the game. Throw a little low.
2:12:06 Mason, who's been really good at
2:12:08 scooping him out of the dirt this year,
2:12:09 can't find that one. And the Tailgator
2:12:12 get yet another runner on base here in
2:12:14 El Paso.
2:12:18 >> That was Indie Stanley who reached
2:12:20 there.
2:12:22 Jordan Hussein gets ahead one and0.
2:12:28 >> Five struck out and reached vir
2:12:32 officially be ruled a single for Indiana
2:12:35 Stanley. [music]
2:12:36 He's now got two of them on his ledger
2:12:38 tonight. How about we have three E6s
2:12:41 combined between the two shorts stops
2:12:42 tonight. Who are the two of the best
2:12:43 shorts stops in the game? This one right
2:12:45 here. Trick play. Book it. 643 double
2:12:49 play. [music]
2:12:50 Each of the shorts stops have hit a ball
2:12:52 to the other shorts stop every single
2:12:53 time tonight. Absolutely incredible.
2:12:55 Fifth trick play of the ball game for
2:12:57 the firefighters.
2:12:59 >> Second of the night for Kaden. And hey,
2:13:01 and now the ninth inning rules. Garrett
2:13:04 Lamper, take it away.
2:13:05 >> Well means we have made it to the ninth
2:13:07 inning. And if we cast our gaze upon the
2:13:10 scoreboard, you'll see that the Texas
2:13:12 Tailgator currently lead this game four
2:13:15 points to one. But this game is far from
2:13:18 over because here in the ninth inning,
2:13:20 every run that scores will count for a
2:13:22 point. Which means these firefighters
2:13:24 are as dangerous as ever because three
2:13:27 runs here would tie the game. But El
2:13:30 Paso, your Texas tailgator, are just
2:13:33 three outs away from winning this game.
2:13:37 The stakes HAVE NEVER BEEN HIGHER.
2:13:39 WELCOME TO THE FINAL INNING.
2:13:49 El Paso, Texas
2:13:52 coming into close for the Texas
2:13:54 Tailgator.
2:13:55 TEXAS BORN AND RAISED AN AGGIE AT HEART.
2:14:00 NUMBER 22,
2:14:02 Reese Miller. [screaming]
2:14:12 Reese Miller,
2:14:16 the man doning, the wind stripes, the
2:14:19 man known as the closer and the young
2:14:22 man who got the save last night, the
2:14:24 sixth of the year, tying [music] him for
2:14:27 second in the Banana Bowl Championship
2:14:29 League. We mentioned his mental reset
2:14:32 after Tulsa last [music] week.
2:14:35 >> Realize what needed to change. It's
2:14:38 nothing in that right arm. It's
2:14:39 everything in between the ears is what
2:14:40 Reese told me. We seen what happened
2:14:43 last night. Faced four firefighters.
2:14:46 Scoreless ninth inning. Able to get the
2:14:48 save in the two to1 victory here. A lot
2:14:50 more room to play with. Up four to one.
2:14:53 19 strikeouts on the air for Ree. It's
2:14:55 not about the strikeouts. It's not about
2:14:57 the save opportunity. The score is
2:14:59 important, but it's about trick plays
2:15:01 right now. Jonathan Sunshine Looters on
2:15:03 record watch. One more from him. Breaks
2:15:06 the single game record. Four in this
2:15:08 inning for the tailgator would also
2:15:10 break a team single game record. For the
2:15:13 firefighters, their final hopes, Eric
2:15:15 Jones Jr., Lamar Sparts, and Mason
2:15:17 Maxwell.
2:15:19 Each of those guys with at least one hit
2:15:21 tonight.
2:15:23 Foul from EJ.
2:15:26 The firefighters loan inning they won
2:15:28 came in the seventh. The Tailgator won
2:15:30 the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth
2:15:32 innings [music]
2:15:34 >> and yet again negated the equalizer
2:15:36 point.
2:15:40 0 and two. The Frisbee of a slider.
2:15:46 [cheering]
2:15:54 >> Hit right side. Taylor Justice between
2:15:57 the legs. Throws it to Reese. Book it.
2:16:00 That's number 19 and out number one here
2:16:03 in the top of the ninth.
2:16:07 Firefighters down to their last two
2:16:08 outs. Tailgators are hunting history on
2:16:11 the defensive side. Taylor Justice gets
2:16:13 them one trick play closer.
2:16:18 Lamar Sparks had a three-run homer in
2:16:21 the first.
2:16:24 [music]
2:16:25 Has grounded out twice since then.
2:16:31 If there's anybody that can get it
2:16:33 refired up, it's this guy. But they've
2:16:34 got to have it now. Down to their last
2:16:36 two batters [music] and two outs.
2:16:40 HIT THE SUNSHINE between the legs. Book
2:16:44 it. Jonathan Sunshine Loers breaks the
2:16:48 banana ball. Single game trick play
2:16:51 record with his ninth trick play here in
2:16:54 El Paso.
2:16:57 >> Single game. [screaming]
2:17:06 an alltime human.
2:17:09 >> He's pacing the league by 12 entering
2:17:12 tonight. And now he WILL FOREVER SIT IN
2:17:16 THE BANANA BALL record books with nine
2:17:19 trick plays in a banana ball game.
2:17:29 >> And how about this? If the Tailgators
2:17:30 got a double trick play to end this one,
2:17:32 they'd break the single game team record
2:17:34 in the same game that Sunshine just
2:17:36 broke the individual record. Sunshine
2:17:38 between the legs. Taylor Justice book it
2:17:43 book it. Tailgator went four to one and
2:17:45 they just broke the single game trick
2:17:48 play record with 22 of them.
2:17:53 Are you serious?
2:17:56 That's tailgator banana ball.
2:17:59 Jonathan Sunshine Lutters nine trick
2:18:01 plays booking for the record. Tailgator
2:18:05 22 trick plays book dead for the record.
2:18:08 But this game in the history of time and
2:18:12 dance a little bit while we're at it,
2:18:13 boys.
2:18:18 [music]
2:18:22 They're all
2:18:23 the sheriff on the floor.
2:18:27 She even
2:18:34 [music]
2:18:39 [cheering]
2:18:40 >> Texas tailgator.
2:18:43 >> Bucket overload. [cheering]
2:18:45 >> Tailgator first ever sweep of the
2:18:47 firefighters.
2:18:49 >> We're catching up to those bananas. We
2:18:51 already passed him in the trick play
2:18:52 records tonight. 22 trick plays in a
2:18:55 single game, a team record. And Jonathan
2:18:58 Sunshine looters, nine of them by
2:19:00 himself, an individual trick play
2:19:02 record.
2:19:04 A monumental moment in the history of
2:19:07 our sport
2:19:09 in a game where the tailgator
2:19:12 left the yard three times. Two of those
2:19:15 coming off the bat of Torren Bar, one
2:19:17 from Kyle Martin.
2:19:19 Michael, you have our showman tonight.
2:19:22 Who else would it be?
2:19:23 >> Who else would it be but Sunshine,
2:19:26 man? You just broke the single game
2:19:29 record as the tailgator. Brett Loft has
2:19:31 called it. He said if they do a double
2:19:32 trick play right now, they're going to
2:19:34 break the single game record as a team.
2:19:37 You did it on this bike. Did you even
2:19:39 know that going into that?
2:19:40 >> I I knew there was a few people, a few
2:19:42 coaches, few players murmuring about,
2:19:43 hey, we need a few away. And we're going
2:19:45 in and we'll do as many as we can. And
2:19:46 I'm so happy we do that. What a cool
2:19:48 thing. Let's talk about the guy behind
2:19:49 you, CD. He was telling me that he
2:19:51 actually got influence from Chris Clark,
2:19:53 last night's ace uh to throw that two
2:19:56 seamer, switching from the four seamer.
2:19:58 He was electric. Five strikeouts. What's
2:20:00 it like to have that guy on your team?
2:20:01 >> This guy is the best. I mean, he he does
2:20:03 such a great job on the mound and he's
2:20:05 so composed and he he's so mature. He
2:20:07 does a great job. I mean, for us,
2:20:09 obviously strikeouts, but he had so many
2:20:10 ground balls and pop flies to be your
2:20:12 tricks on and uh it's so cool having a
2:20:14 guy like this guy. He pitched so well
2:20:15 for us to have such a great great team
2:20:17 win. Sounds awesome.
2:20:18 >> CD, I want to elaborate on that about
2:20:20 the influence that the guy decorating
2:20:21 you with confetti and streamers has been
2:20:24 on you. You actually got in the box for
2:20:26 a pitch with him to change from four
2:20:28 seam to two seam.
2:20:29 >> I did. He was throwing a bullpen and he
2:20:31 he needed me. He was like, "Hey, can you
2:20:33 can you stand in and see this?" And now
2:20:35 I understand why they don't hit him. So,
2:20:38 no, it's it's been a great experience
2:20:39 being being with such a great pitcher
2:20:41 and I love these guys. Love them to
2:20:43 death. Sunshine, you're a dog.
2:20:45 >> It's Jordan. Hey, Jordan. Hey, Jordan.
2:20:47 Hey. Uh,
2:20:49 >> you wait. Let me let me shout out Let me
2:20:51 shout out J5. Okay, this my Hey, this is
2:20:53 my shortstop. This is Cap. Let me shout
2:20:55 out J6. This is my third baseman. He's a
2:20:58 Hey, he's a dog. LET ME SHOUT OUT MY
2:20:59 CATCHER. HEY, THIS THE BIGGEST, the
2:21:01 largest. HEY, THIS MY BEST FRIEND. This
2:21:06 >> Jordan Bond, you hit a You hit a ball
2:21:09 really, really, really fun.
2:21:11 >> I mean, yeah. I got lucky. Closed my
2:21:12 eyes. It happened.
2:21:14 >> What's it like? You guys broke the
2:21:15 single game record. The tailgator
2:21:17 looters behind you. This guy's grilling
2:21:19 on the grills. I mean, Texas for the
2:21:22 first time in the matchup series. You
2:21:24 guys won game two.
2:21:25 >> Yeah. I mean, it's really cool.
2:21:26 Obviously, we got the the best uh trick
2:21:28 trickers in in banana ball. So, I try to
2:21:31 learn my my my craft from them and it's
2:21:33 been a we have a special group and it's
2:21:35 a lot of fun winning ball games.
2:21:36 >> Do I look like Chris Clark, by the way?
2:21:37 He did my handlebars.
2:21:39 >> I do actually a lot. Yeah. And shout out
2:21:41 to my hitting coach, Andrew Bartman. He
2:21:42 just wanted me to say that. I appreciate
2:21:44 that. Hey, banana ball backstage.
2:21:46 Question of the game. You look like
2:21:48 Hollywood, man. This comes from Peyton,
2:21:50 9 years old. Pancakes or waffles and
2:21:53 why?
2:21:54 >> Uh, waffles. I think the texture is a
2:21:55 little better, crispier on the waffles.
2:21:57 So, I like that a lot. And can I just
2:21:58 add one more thing? Hey J5, this is the
2:22:00 captain from the tailgator. Uh, he is
2:22:02 such an influence in our clubhouse when
2:22:03 it comes to ripping tricks. Even the
2:22:05 ninth inning from the very beginning of
2:22:06 the year, he say, "Hey, in the ninth
2:22:07 inning, we're doing tricks." That's
2:22:08 going to be the identity of this team.
2:22:09 He establishes that for all of us. So,
2:22:11 he's set a really good tone. This is the
2:22:12 guy right here,
2:22:12 >> guys. When when if you're a kid right
2:22:14 now and you're watching this, you're
2:22:15 going to get older. You're going to tell
2:22:16 your kids that these are two of the best
2:22:18 guys in banana ball to ever step on a
2:22:20 field and do those trick plays. Guys,
2:22:22 thank you. Celebrate the Tailgator 2 and
2:22:25 0 here in El Paso.
2:22:28 >> This was one of the single most special
2:22:31 moments I've had in my young here in
2:22:33 Banana Ball. Seen every single game the
2:22:36 tailgator have ever played.
2:22:38 >> Last year, this was a team. They were
2:22:40 the only team in the history of the
2:22:42 sport since 2024 to record exactly zero
2:22:46 trick plays in a game last year. That
2:22:48 was game one in St. Paul, Minnesota.
2:22:50 Tonight, the same team that recorded
2:22:52 zero trick plays in a game last year
2:22:54 broke the single game banana ball record
2:22:57 with 22 of them tonight. And that guy on
2:22:59 your screen right there broke this
2:23:01 single game individual trick play record
2:23:05 with 10 of them in a game that was won
2:23:08 by offense. It was tailgator ball at its
2:23:11 core. Christian Davis shoved induces 12
2:23:15 trick plays behind him. Strikes out five
2:23:17 and five and two/3. Jordan Bar hits two
2:23:20 long balls. My good friend Kyle Martin
2:23:23 welcomes you to the auction yet again.
2:23:24 the first player in the sport this year
2:23:26 to get to double digit home runs with
2:23:27 10. But the story is trick plays and it
2:23:31 was exactly those guys on the field and
2:23:33 also somebody else they didn't mention
2:23:35 but it's somebody we've already heard
2:23:36 from tonight Bartman. I texted him
2:23:40 during friends in low places and said
2:23:42 Bart Sunny needs one trick play to break
2:23:45 the record and needs four to break the
2:23:48 single game record as a team. He said,
2:23:50 "Got it." And the tailgator booked it in
2:23:54 that ninth inning. I could not be
2:23:56 prouder of a group of guys that I am
2:23:58 here tonight. We talk about in this
2:24:00 organization, Zack Stton, about growing
2:24:02 all the time. How far this brand has
2:24:04 grown both when we talk about
2:24:06 entertainment, we talk about creative,
2:24:08 but we also talk about in between the
2:24:10 lines of Banana Ball. It is special what
2:24:13 this secondyear brand, the Texas
2:24:14 Tailgators are doing in 2026.
2:24:16 >> It was a special effort through this
2:24:18 brand. It's a special effort tonight in
2:24:20 the field. And you think about it, in
2:24:22 the first inning, the firefighters put
2:24:24 the pressure on the Texas Tailgator.
2:24:26 Pressure either burst pipes or it
2:24:28 creates diamonds. And it created one
2:24:30 special performance out there for the
2:24:32 firefighters. The last time they were
2:24:33 swept was against the Savannah Bananas
2:24:35 back in March. They immediately went
2:24:36 back and swept somebody else. You find
2:24:38 out what you're made of after a game
2:24:40 like this. I'll bet on the firefighters
2:24:42 any day of the week. But tonight, the
2:24:43 story is Sunshine Looters. The story is
2:24:45 this Texas Tailgator defense.
2:24:46 Firefighters fall below 500. The
2:24:48 Tailgator back over three games over
2:24:51 500. The first time in their existence
2:24:53 they've ever been three games over 500
2:24:55 at 12 and N. And those standings again
2:24:59 going closer and closer towards the top.
2:25:02 Obviously, the Tailgators have already
2:25:03 locked themselves in to a playoff spot
2:25:06 by winning the Banana Ball Open. But
2:25:08 clinching that number one seed and
2:25:10 having the opportunity to record 27 outs
2:25:12 like they did here tonight, you've seen
2:25:14 what they get to do. And with all those
2:25:15 trick play opportunities that they're
2:25:17 able to have, this is one of the most
2:25:19 special games we will ever see in our
2:25:22 young sport of banana ball. And as the
2:25:24 great Jesse Cole says, we're just
2:25:25 getting started. This has been one of
2:25:27 the most special weekends in the history
2:25:29 of our young sport. Loco Beach finally
2:25:31 overcoming Savannah Bananas. The
2:25:32 Indianapolis Clowns being able to revive
2:25:35 themselves fully and come full circle
2:25:38 going back to Indianapolis. And then
2:25:39 here tonight, Jonathan Sunshine,
2:25:41 Looters, and the Texas Tailgator. The
2:25:44 Trickery Trailblazers, 10 trick plays
2:25:46 from Sunny and 22 from The Tailgator.
2:25:49 Both single game records for everyone
2:25:51 back in Savannah being led under the
2:25:53 toutelage of our director Keegan Woods.
2:25:56 For Mr. Mohawk Mike, our producer,
2:25:58 [music] for Zack Stton and Michael
2:25:59 Schwarz down on the field, I'm Brett
2:26:01 Loft is telling you, I am so blessed to
2:26:04 have been a part of history tonight.
2:26:05 [music] I am so blessed to have spent it
2:26:06 with you and I am so blessed to be the
2:26:08 voice of the Texas Tailgators. You guys
2:26:10 don't know how happy I am to live this
2:26:12 life. Thank you [music] guys so much for
2:26:13 giving us this and until we see you
2:26:16 Thursday night in Knoxville, Tennessee.
2:26:17 Stay safe, stay happy, stay healthy, and
2:26:20 may you please gator up.
