Texas Tailgaters @ Loco Beach Coconuts
2026 Banana Ball World Tour - Texas Tailgaters vs Loco Beach Coconuts in Frisco, Texas! (Game 2)
📝 Full transcript (3667 segments)
1:59 Mhm.
2:05 >> It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood
2:07 and this time around the neighborhood's
2:08 down in Frisco, Texas. If you're ready
2:11 to go loco, you're in the right place.
2:13 It's the Coconut's first ever home game
2:15 and boy, oh boy, last night was a treat
2:18 against the Texas Tailgaters. We had
2:21 showdowns, we had a golden batter home
2:23 run, and excitement was radiating
2:26 throughout the place. Now, it's time for
2:28 saltwater and sand in Frisco, Texas as
2:31 for the first time in team history, Loco
2:34 Beach gears up as the home squad. I'm AJ
2:37 Swaboda, the voice of the vibes
2:39 alongside Brett Loftis and he is ready.
2:42 I mean, you can see the smile on his
2:44 face. Last night was something special,
2:45 Brett.
2:46 >> This is the most special banana ball
2:47 game I was ever a part of and that's not
2:49 a euphemism, that's not a hyperbole,
2:50 that's quite literally what it was.
2:52 Golden batter Cal Mar, which we'll look
2:54 at later here in the pre-show, showdown
2:56 win for the Texas Tailgaters at the
2:58 stadium here in Frisco, Texas where the
3:00 Tailgaters won their first ever game in
3:02 the Lone Star State. It was a special
3:04 night, but now it's a special day. The
3:06 Tailgaters, while this is still a
3:07 headliner, the home team on the
3:09 scoreboard last night, the away team
3:11 today. Your boys in the teal and orange,
3:13 the home team on the scoreboard today
3:15 makes it very so special, very special
3:17 for that skipper of yours, too, Mark
3:18 Crocco.
3:19 >> It is. Let's take a look at what it's
3:20 going to take to go loco at the beach.
3:22 It's all about honor and love. Those are
3:24 called Crocco-isms because at the start
3:26 of every day he reminds his guys, you
3:27 keep honor and love at the front of your
3:29 brain, everything else is going to
3:30 figure itself out. We've touched on it,
3:32 it's the debut at home for Loco Beach
3:35 and battle tested, they went 2,026
3:38 years without a loss. Last night, the
3:40 first, we'll see how this group battles
3:42 back. Mark Crocco said he thought it was
3:44 good that they got that punch to the
3:45 face cuz he wants to see how they
3:47 retaliate.
3:47 >> Yeah, a 4-3 win for the Tailgaters in a
3:50 game where when you're talking net
3:52 points, which the final again four to
3:54 three Tailgaters victorious, you're
3:55 talking runs. Man, a lot more runs, a
3:58 lot more hits for the Coconuts last
4:00 night. I mean, they got banana ball.
4:01 Follow these crockoisms. I think they'll
4:03 be A-OK today. And like we said, they're
4:05 the home team. It is so advantageous in
4:08 our great sport of banana ball to be
4:10 that home team. I'll tell you what, AJ
4:11 Swatek, I like their chances here today.
4:14 The boys in blue and orange are really
4:15 going to have to Gator up to win this
4:16 one.
4:17 >> 9,000 of our closest friends and family
4:20 here at Loco Beach at Riders Field ready
4:23 to feel the electricity and catch a
4:26 wave. We're going to do that ourselves
4:28 and catch you on the other side of the
4:30 break.
4:36 >> Now making his way out of the third base
4:39 dugout, in the biggest cowboy hat both
4:44 sides of the Mississippi, the only one
4:47 to make it to the top of the stairway to
4:49 heaven, it's Cade BIG HAT BOWLER.
4:59 And now approaching out of the first
5:03 base dugout, the most shredded man to
5:06 ever SHRED THE GUITAR, WELL KNOWN IN THE
5:09 LOCAL GUITAR CENTER, IT'S TREY MR.
5:13 UNIVERSE JONES.
5:19 Ladies and gentlemen, we're going to let
5:21 these guys go at it on the guitar, but
5:22 it's going to be up to you the fans to
5:24 decide who wins this riff off.
5:28 Vincent Shavin will get us going.
5:30 3 2 1 GO!
5:46 WELL, last night we had a thriller in
5:48 the Lone Star State, but for the first
5:50 time there were four Banana Ball
5:52 broadcasts live all at the same time,
5:54 and boy, oh boy, all across the country
5:57 Banana Ball is catching on and for good
6:00 reason. Last night the Savannah Bananas
6:02 took on the Firefighters back at Grayson
6:05 Stadium, but here in Texas it started
6:08 with the Ant Man out in right.
6:10 >> [music]
6:10 >> Mark Krako is loving it, and this is why
6:13 they're called the Comeback Coconuts.
6:15 >> He got your first band caught foul ball
6:17 in team history down 1-0, making it a
6:19 1-1 game. Oh, man, down 2-0, making it a
6:23 2-2 game. Down TA, turn them into
6:25 Sabrina Carpenter, pull off the towel,
6:28 put on the swim trunks, but at the end
6:30 of the night the Tailgaters they got the
6:32 last laugh.
6:33 >> Yeah, TA man, they're able to draw ball
6:35 four sprint in the top of the night, put
6:38 the Coconuts up by a score [music] of
6:40 three to two. You're thinking bottom of
6:42 the night, CJ Williams, who do the
6:44 Tailgaters call on? It's the man they
6:46 call K-Mart. Kyle Martin, 275 career
6:49 professional home runs. Home run number
6:51 one in Banana Ball. Tied us [music] up
6:53 at three a piece, one of the most
6:54 electrifying moments. A golden batter,
6:56 ya ya, to send us to showdown. It's CJ
7:00 Williams, it's Nick Lopez after showdown
7:02 shutdown [music] from Reese McGuire in
7:03 the top half of round one. In the bottom
7:05 half, Mr. Leisure, cool as a cucumber,
7:08 puts one in the right center field gap.
7:10 Gideon Antal got [music] on his horse,
7:12 but not quite fast as Nick Lopez got on
7:15 his. And for their first win of 2026,
7:17 their first win in the Lone Star State
7:19 of this big year, the Texas Tailgaters
7:22 got it done 4-3 over the Loco Beach
7:24 Coconuts in showdown. Kyle Martin, man,
7:27 special ball player. Welcome to the
7:29 action. Welcome to the K-Mart show. He
7:31 was our golden batter last night. He was
7:33 our showman of the night and for good
7:34 reason. The biggest number I'm looking
7:36 at though on this line score I just
7:37 wiped out trick plays. Only three trick
7:39 plays last weekend from the Texas
7:41 Tailgaters,
7:42 Plus 10 last night on that. Uh 13 trick
7:45 plays, five of those from Jordan
7:46 Hussein. What a night we had at Riders
7:48 Field last night.
7:50 >> We get to do it all again here today,
7:52 but taking a look across Savannah
7:54 Bananas, there was
7:56 just absolute flair
7:58 from top to bottom, starting with what
7:59 Jake Skol did out in Memphis.
8:01 >> was insane. A walk-off home run from
8:03 Skol, the MVP, the triple crown winner,
8:06 to the deepest part of the yard against
8:08 Nick Welton, the closer for the Clowns,
8:10 and X going give it to you, and he did
8:13 in those beautiful pink pinstripe
8:15 jerseys for the boys in black and pink,
8:17 the defending champs, win their first
8:19 game of 2026. Crown that man. He's the
8:22 MVP. Jake Skol and the Party Animals one
8:25 and one.
8:26 I mean, that's just a great ball game.
8:28 The Clowns got the best of them at LSU,
8:30 but last night the Animals, because of
8:32 the MVP, able to win that ballgame. I
8:34 know Jett and Avery were happy watching
8:35 at home. I know my main man Drake
8:37 Tolbert lost his mind on that walk-off
8:39 home run. Clowns one and one, Party
8:41 Animals one and one, Coconuts one and
8:43 one, Tailgaters one and one, but the
8:45 only two other teams in this league who
8:47 don't have a one and one record faced
8:49 off in Savannah last night.
8:50 >> That they did, and the Bananas got the
8:52 last laugh. Kyle Jackson is a guy who
8:54 can kiss, he can get tricky, and he can
8:57 swing bombs. Two games for KJ in 2026,
9:01 two Showmans of the night. He got the
9:04 crowd fired up early and often, and it
9:06 was nothing but bananas from that point
9:09 forward. That's a bad man on the mound.
9:11 You know him, you love him. Danny Hasley
9:13 came on, took the rubber, and stoned him
9:16 with the strikeout looking to secure the
9:19 Bananas the win. They move to two and 0.
9:21 The Firefighters on the other side of
9:23 the equation 0 and 2. Everyone else
9:26 deadlocked in the middle, and Brett I'd
9:28 talked about it. Kyle Jackson has had
9:30 some start to the season. You know what
9:32 they call him? He's pretty, but he's
9:34 gritty, and KJ, man, he didn't do what
9:37 he did last year just based off of
9:39 looks.
9:40 He's a good ball player, man. Walk-off
9:41 home run, a sprint, and rose to the
9:44 occasion. Yeah, that's what the Showman
9:45 graphic says. 11 trick plays for those
9:47 Nanners last night in Savannah. Little
9:49 BTA action. Like you said, they're two
9:51 and 0. Firefighters 0 and 2.
9:53 Firefighters the home team at historic
9:54 Grayson Stadium in that match up today
9:56 later on this afternoon.
9:58 >> Well, we've got matchups across the
9:59 league today, but I've got my eyes on
10:01 Loco Beach. I've got my eyes on the
10:03 Coconuts and how they're going to
10:04 respond to what went down here at Riders
10:07 Field last night. Plenty of fans
10:09 returning. Plenty of new faces in the
10:11 crowd, but Brett, you know, we're a
10:13 decent ways into this now. There's been
10:15 one fan caught foul ball. It was a
10:17 Tailgaters fan who helped out Loco
10:19 Beach. I don't want to hear any more of
10:20 that tonight.
10:22 >> I would just love to see fans catch some
10:24 more foul balls in general. I mean, F10
10:26 is my favorite thing to write down.
10:27 Shout out Josh Zaleski, I know he's
10:29 watching inside the press box at Grayson
10:31 Stadium right now. Want to see some more
10:33 fan caught foul balls. Shall we set a
10:35 >> over/under on that today unofficially?
10:36 I'll give it one and a half. Oh, man.
10:38 I've got faith in the fans. I'll take
10:40 the over all day long.
10:40 >> Taking the over, all right. Some F10s.
10:42 AJ Swiatek almost fell out of the press
10:44 box about three times last night trying
10:46 to catch one. I got a half over/under AJ
10:48 Swiatek catches one today.
10:49 >> That wouldn't be my first time falling
10:51 out of a press box. Would be my first
10:53 time catching a foul ball. So, you've
10:54 got a lot of faith in me, Brett. If
10:56 you're not familiar with this ballpark,
10:58 it it plays very friendly for the fans.
11:00 The netting goes out both to right and
11:02 left field, but it's not like what we
11:03 saw in Tallahassee. Nowhere near the
11:05 elevation. Really anything that squeaks
11:08 over that mesh wall has a chance to be
11:10 caught for an out, and we saw it just a
11:12 night ago.
11:15 Now here today, it is just about go time
11:18 from Riders Field. Coconuts Tailgaters
11:21 on deck next.
11:24 >> Grayson Stadium
11:29 >> You get on that horse,
11:32 we're here for the show.
11:33 >> Nice shot.
11:34 We're here for a good time.
11:36 We ain't here for a long time.
11:39 We ain't here for a long time.
11:41 We're here for a good time.
11:43 If you're here for a good time, put
11:44 [cheering] your hands up. NOW SAY,
11:46 WOAH, GET READY, bam lam. Woah, get
11:48 ready, bam lam. Woah, get ready, bam
11:51 lam. Get ready to ride.
11:53 Woah, get ready, bam lam. Woah, get
11:56 ready, bam lam. Woah, get ready, bam
11:59 lam. Get ready to ride.
12:04 Bam lam.
12:07 Ready to ride.
12:11 Bam lam.
12:14 Dade world wide.
12:37 Put your hands up.
12:38 NOW SAY, WOAH, GET READY, bam lam. Woah,
12:41 get ready, bam lam. Woah, get ready, bam
12:44 lam. Get ready to ride.
12:46 Woah, get ready, bam lam. Woah, get
12:48 ready, bam lam. Woah, get ready, bam
12:51 lam. Get ready to ride.
12:56 Bam lam.
13:00 Ready to ride.
13:04 Bam lam.
13:07 Dade world wide.
13:13 >> [music]
13:30 [cheering]
13:43 >> Ladies and gentlemen, and at this time
13:45 we ask that you release the guys in the
13:47 favor of removing your caps and placing
13:49 them on your heart in
13:51 with the singing of tonight's national
13:53 anthem. Please welcome to the field
13:55 Tristan Robertson.
13:59 >> Oh, say can
14:14 >> You're going to get an opportunity to
14:15 leave a legacy that is going to last
14:17 forever.
14:18 >> I set my goals to turn banana ball into
14:19 party animal ball.
14:21 >> This locker room right here is y'alls
14:22 firehouse. So, remember when you put
14:23 these jerseys on who you represent.
14:25 >> We're the Texas Tailgaters!
14:27 >> [cheering]
14:28 >> We're the Texas Tailgaters!
14:30 >> All in wealth, come strong, nothing too
14:32 easy.
14:33 >> This jersey represents a history that
14:34 was represented by players before us.
14:36 >> Jackie Bradley
14:39 Jr.!
14:42 THE DOOR WAS ALREADY CLOSED!
14:44 AND
14:45 WHAT WAS THAT JUMP PASS? BACK UP THE
14:47 MIDDLE, HASLEY GOT IT BEHIND HIS BACK!
14:49 BACKFLIP! HEAD FREAK! YES, SIR!
14:53 JUMPING BETWEEN THE LEGS!
14:56 BEHIND THE BACK
14:57 HOOK SHOT!
14:58 Head's gone bananas!
15:00 It's over! THE TEXAS TAILGATERS HAVE WON
15:03 THEIR FIRST game in three times history!
15:05 BALL THERE!
15:07 HE'S WIDE OPEN!
15:08 A RAINMAKER from Ashby Vining! Super
15:11 leap! [cheering]
15:12 Are you kidding me? And the Savannah
15:14 Bananas will be the number one seed
15:18 With the game on the line!
15:21 They're falling to balance! Gone!
15:24 >> [screaming]
15:24 >> Gone!
15:28 >> [cheering]
15:40 [cheering]
16:00 >> This series has already generated a
16:03 number of moments that will be in next
16:06 year's hype video and we're only one
16:08 game into it. It's the one and one Loco
16:10 Beach Coconut's holding host to the
16:11 Texas Tailgaters in their home state and
16:14 we wouldn't want it any other way. It's
16:16 time to go Loco. First ever home game
16:19 for the Coconut's and they're trotting
16:20 out a very familiar look in the field to
16:23 back up a guy who doesn't have that same
16:26 familiarity. Everyone gets down and
16:28 joins just in front of the plate and
16:30 Brett
16:31 Let's take a look at that Loco Beach
16:33 defense. You got Krem on the hill, first
16:34 ever start in Banana Ball, but around
16:36 him it stays very consistent. The only
16:39 difference from yesterday is Don't
16:40 Molten taking over at second base.
16:42 Gideon Antal has shown that prowess time
16:45 and time again in right field.
16:46 >> Yeah, I mean you see Don't Molten out
16:48 there at second. He's been the
16:49 designated fielder really a lot through
16:50 spring training getting the start today.
16:53 No designated fielder today for the Loco
16:54 Beach Coconut's. Ash Bivens holding down
16:56 the fort behind home plate. What I'm
16:57 really looking forward to watching out
16:58 in left field today is Tanner Allen.
17:00 He's had a couple plays that he would
17:01 tell you he should have made through the
17:02 first couple of games. I think he's
17:04 going to have a big game both out there
17:05 in left and at this point.
17:07 >> Coming with a chip on his shoulder for
17:09 sure after last night. Had a routine fly
17:12 ball to left that just escaped his glove
17:13 turned into a two-point swing. Former
17:16 ACC player of the year looks to right
17:18 the ship here and set [cheering] sail.
17:20 Austin Crispensky has quite the group
17:22 behind him. This is a Loco Beach defense
17:24 that secured the equalizer point in
17:26 their first ever contest and the native
17:28 of Roswell, Georgia says he's just fine
17:30 letting the ball get hit into play.
17:32 They're aware that they're the home team
17:34 for the first time so they can't play
17:35 for the equalizer. Graham, as they call
17:38 him, is going to be pitching to contact.
17:40 He's a guy who signed with the Cubs
17:41 organization in 2021.
17:44 He's about to pass two seasons in yellow
17:46 with the Savannah Bananas and now he
17:48 finds a new home at the beach.
17:49 >> Has not given up an earned run since
17:51 July last year. I mean, this dude was
17:53 lights out for the Savannah Bananas last
17:55 couple months. See that 3.72 ERA? Only
17:58 one of six pitchers on tour who
17:59 qualified with a sub-4 ERA. I mean,
18:02 incredible stuff from Graham last year.
18:04 I'm excited to watch Atlanta's own take
18:06 the bump today.
18:07 >> Well, he's got a tall task. Texas'
18:08 lineup came to play just tonight ago and
18:12 very similar to what Mark Krako's crew
18:14 did. Joe Mikulik with a very similar
18:16 lineup to what he showed last night.
18:17 >> Yeah, you see the quad father getting
18:19 the start behind the plate today. Taj
18:21 Porter, Jason Arndt getting his first
18:23 start of the year due to the injury of
18:24 Zach Watson last night. Tell you what,
18:27 really, really, really good lineup and I
18:29 think I think A.J. Swatek we're getting
18:32 ready to do our staple here in Tailgater
18:34 country.
18:39 >> 1 2 3
18:46 >> Oh, yeah.
18:46 >> Showtime. Drills up and flings and it's
18:48 showtime. Clocks [cheering] are ticking
18:50 and it's a beautiful Sunday for some
18:52 Banana Ball. Travis Moon comes to the
18:55 dish to face off against Austin
18:57 Crispensky
18:59 here in the finale of this two-game
19:01 stint between the squads.
19:04 Brett's first offering able to fill it
19:06 up with some help from Ashby Vining.
19:08 Home plate umpire today, Randy Voss, saw
19:10 enough to call it a strike.
19:13 No one spot. Moon battles it right back
19:15 into the webbing.
19:17 Trev quickly on top, 0-2.
19:19 Now he's got some pitches to play with.
19:25 >> Mhm, good take there from Trev, man.
19:27 Something he worked out a lot last year.
19:28 He had one ball four sprint through the
19:30 first 3 months of the year. Had seven
19:31 last year in just the month of
19:33 September. This is a dude who's going to
19:35 be very patient. Right there though, got
19:37 it.
19:37 >> Yeah, no ball four sprint for you,
19:39 Travis dude. Heard the moon landing was
19:41 fake. That at bat was very real.
19:44 Krzeminski starts off with a sword.
19:47 Sending him back to the dugout and grab
19:49 a leisurely chair. Just another day in
19:51 the office for number 22. He's dancing,
19:53 he's feeling it, and it brings up Nick
19:54 Lopez who reached twice last night, once
19:57 on a ball four sprint, once on a hit by
19:59 pitch, and he starts off the exact same
20:01 way as Moon by staring at a strike.
20:03 >> Lopian Elefela, as he calls himself, a
20:05 little Ele Langly hit by pitch
20:07 celebration last night.
20:10 So he jerked that one foul, man. Tell
20:12 you what, big time, big time from Lopian
20:15 showdowns. Obviously didn't record a hit
20:16 as you mentioned, he reached twice. Big
20:18 time in showdowns, that's why you give
20:19 it to him in round one, and he's able to
20:21 win the ball game last night for the
20:22 Tailgaters.
20:25 >> Got himself in a hole here.
20:28 To bring out the shovel and dig out of
20:30 it. Able to do just that.
20:32 Fishes it through the right side. Clears
20:35 Baldonado Brewer by the time Antle gets
20:37 there. It is a single with one away. And
20:39 with
20:40 >> Tailgaters being the away team, man, you
20:41 got to get on your horse early. And you
20:43 got to get the offense going. One out
20:45 single there from Nick Lopez. Very,
20:46 very, very big to start this ball game.
20:49 And now a guy who can hit the data balls
20:51 a really long way, and Jordan Barley.
20:55 >> Barley takes high. It's a lefty hand
20:57 lefty heavy lineup.
20:59 Barley bats right, had 19 home runs in
21:02 2025 playing in the Pioneer League. This
21:05 one shot out to left. Tanner Allen does
21:07 it the routine way without a shirt on.
21:10 He secures out number two for Chris
21:11 Binski.
21:12 >> Tell you one thing about TA, man. He
21:14 loves going tarps off. He told me he
21:16 added about 5 to 10 lbs of muscle in the
21:19 off-season. He said, "I wanted to be
21:21 strong. I wanted to be lean. I wanted to
21:23 look good when I came to Banana Ball."
21:25 And then he does. That's why he can take
21:27 his jersey off.
21:27 >> I'd say he checks all those boxes and
21:29 more.
21:30 >> Our showman from last night, Key Martin.
21:33 Special game, man. Golden matter home
21:35 run. Goes two for three otherwise. I
21:38 mean, just a really good ballgame from
21:40 the 33-year-old native of Greenville,
21:42 South Carolina.
21:48 >> Almost impossible to follow up a moment
21:49 like that.
21:51 Martin wanted to fence this there. Came
21:53 up well short.
21:56 >> What you got on these white britches
21:57 today with the floral look, man? You
21:59 like that?
22:00 >> Big fan. First time Loco Beach has worn
22:02 the white pants in action. The first
22:04 time I did go around.
22:07 It's where you got to be careful.
22:08 There's some speed over at first.
22:11 Spinski aware of the situation. Turns,
22:13 hurls. He's in at first and safely.
22:16 >> Did Lopi pay you to say that?
22:18 There's speed at first. Did he pay you
22:19 to say that?
22:20 >> We weren't supposed to talk about that,
22:21 man.
22:23 Big swing and a miss.
22:25 Fills up the count. Hey, hey, what
22:27 happens off the air, that that's between
22:29 you and me, all right?
22:31 >> Krim thinks he's got some speed. I mean,
22:33 hey, Lopi's not a bad runner by any
22:35 means, but
22:38 he's no Jason Arndt, who was our
22:39 designated runner. I'll [laughter] tell
22:40 you that much.
22:41 >> He's off to the races in a full count.
22:43 Too hot for Dalton Malden, and he's
22:45 experienced right through the legs.
22:47 That'll do it for the top of the first.
22:49 First trick play for Loco Beach of the
22:52 day comes on the third out of the frame.
22:55 We'll see their bats on the other side,
22:58 but Malden steps right into the lineup,
23:00 and that's where the experience comes in
23:02 handy.
23:03 >> Yeah, don't maul him, man. He's as
23:04 smooth as silk out there at second base.
23:06 That's why you put him in the lineup,
23:08 give him an opportunity to go out there.
23:10 A trick play as well, in negating at
23:12 least the point. Maybe the Coconuts can
23:14 win the point here now in the home half
23:16 as the bats are coming out. As my
23:18 favorite promo, the world's slowest
23:21 race, Garrett Lampert.
23:23 >> Frisco Banana Ball is all about speed,
23:26 but what we got for you right now might
23:28 be the exact opposite. We've got nine
23:32 babies ready to go because this is the
23:34 world's slowest race.
23:39 Frisco,
23:40 we're all ready.
23:42 Babies,
23:43 on your mark, get set, go.
23:50 And they're off to a blistering pace.
23:53 You've never seen anybody move any
23:55 faster.
23:58 Lots of crying, Raymond staring down
24:01 that finish line.
24:04 Lila on her back, not an ideal racing
24:06 position.
24:08 Abraham's ready to go.
24:11 Faith picks her head up and oh
24:14 head back down, but at least they're
24:18 We've got Franklin in a young grub
24:20 costume just one day after his
24:22 announcement. Up comes the finish line
24:24 getting closer, yet they have not moved
24:27 an inch. Ladies and gentlemen, it's
24:29 anybody's game. There's still time to
24:32 place your bets. Frisco, which baby you
24:35 got?
24:36 Somebody's got to want it. Find your
24:39 mom, find your dad.
24:43 We've got Lizzie up on all fours and the
24:45 finish line grows closer. Into the final
24:47 stretch, Faith almost in a full
24:50 handstand, acrobatics in the middle of
24:52 the race. Call it showboating.
24:54 Who can it TO
24:57 WE'VE GOT TO MOVE, BABIES. You got to
25:00 want it. Somebody make a move. The final
25:03 stretch.
25:05 Who's it going to be? Frisco, help these
25:08 babies out. We got to get them moving.
25:11 Come on.
25:14 Here comes that finish line. Who's it
25:16 going to be?
25:18 It's so close, but so far. What are we
25:22 going to do? Somebody go get that finish
25:25 line. It's right there for the taking.
25:29 Here we go. We're going to count them
25:30 down. 10, 9, 8,
25:35 7, 6,
25:37 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. The finish line makes its
25:44 final approach. Someone's got to get it.
25:47 WHO'S IT GOING TO BE?
25:52 He reaches across. It's Franklin
25:55 >> It truly was
25:57 >> The world's slowest race.
25:59 And after moving a full foot, look who
26:02 it is. IT'S GATOR.
26:05 THAT'S BABY GRUB. THAT'S BABY GRUB.
26:08 THAT'S GRUB THE Gator's
26:10 little brother who just won the world's
26:13 slowest race. And now all of Grub's best
26:15 friends out in the field. Jordan
26:17 Hussein, five trick plays last night
26:20 highlighted in this 13 trick play
26:22 defense. The battery, Ty Porter and
26:24 Christian Davis, a couple Southern
26:26 University teammates in the battery day.
26:28 CD, an all-star from a year ago, one of
26:30 three for the Tailgaters.
26:32 >> Ben Parker swings at the first pitch to
26:34 him. Jordan Hussein picks up right where
26:36 he left off.
26:38 Did he?
26:41 No. Okay, Ben Parker able to hustle it
26:44 out and flexes over at first. We get
26:46 another look at it. Yeah. Sorry. I know
26:49 you had speed, Ben Parker. Didn't know
26:51 he could move like that.
26:56 ACC D last year, getting an All-Star,
26:59 one of three for the Tailgaters.
27:01 >> Bang bang play over there, first.
27:03 Maybe could even challenge that. I think
27:05 it would have been worth challenging,
27:06 but we'll wait for the official ruling
27:09 whether that was a hit or a trick play
27:10 missed. I would have leaned hit.
27:12 >> Just tonight to go, Ben Parker three for
27:14 four, added a double and a ribbie.
27:18 Likely one for one already today. Tanner
27:20 Allen, this could be trouble. Good
27:21 diving spot from Moon gets it over to
27:24 Sunshine and a fielder's choice helps
27:26 Tailgaters to their first out of the
27:28 ballgame. You know, the designated
27:30 fielder is such an interesting position
27:32 in this sport and there's none more
27:35 interesting than Jonathan Sunshine
27:36 Luders. He's playing on the cold corner.
27:38 You'll see him at first, second, short,
27:40 third, and in all three outfield slots
27:42 here this afternoon. He's going to play
27:44 every position
27:46 that is not catcher or pitcher in this
27:48 ballgame today. Very impressive stuff.
27:50 >> For the man they call Sunny.
27:52 >> Jordan Brewer puts a charge into one,
27:55 right center alley. Indiana Stanley's
27:57 able to camp underneath it. Ben Parker
28:00 tags up. Now that walk-off run is 90 ft
28:03 from the plate and it's up to Ashby
28:05 Vining who has vaulted his way up this
28:07 order. He has a hit in every banana
28:09 ballgame he's ever appeared in. That
28:10 includes spring training, by the way.
28:13 This guy is just seeing beach balls and
28:15 now he has a chance to face off against
28:17 the South Paw on the
28:18 >> That RBI single hit last night was the
28:20 most impressive AB I've seen this year.
28:22 An eight-pitch at-bat that resulted in
28:24 an opposite field single.
28:26 This one I think caught a piece of the
28:27 plate.
28:28 >> It was just incredible stuff from Ashby,
28:30 a rookie, a young man who is a
28:32 soon-to-be father and just the maturity
28:35 that he shows to be a rookie in this
28:36 sport. I know he played five games with
28:38 the Biscuits last year.
28:41 >> Put this one on the carpet. Hussein
28:43 between the legs, over to first and
28:44 there's the trick play. We stay
28:46 scoreless through one. Coconut strand a
28:49 runner on third. Has to be able to put
28:51 it in play, but couldn't get it through
28:54 the infield.
28:55 >> Yeah, a great play by Jordan Hussey to
28:56 tie us up in the trick play battle.
28:58 Officially a single by the way from Ben
29:00 Parker. Nonetheless, nothing. Nothing.
29:03 Coconuts, Tailgaters.
30:16 >> Looks like they're having a hard time
30:18 getting anyone to want to wear those
30:19 cowboy hats. Beach vibes infectious.
30:22 Chris Minskey back on the hill for more
30:24 work. He hasn't given up an earned run
30:27 since July of last year. Extended that
30:30 streak by an inning. Looks to pick up
30:32 right where he left off. Now he's got
30:33 five, six, and seven due up starting
30:35 with Mac Danforth.
30:37 >> Mac the Doodle man, I'm really excited
30:39 for him to try to get going. He was
30:40 really going there in spring training.
30:42 Oh, wow.
30:44 >> So check me back into the net.
30:46 >> Grand Rich, Florida's finest.
30:49 Still looking for his first hit of the
30:50 year.
30:52 >> Messing with his tempo a little bit.
30:54 Crab going to give the fans a chance.
30:56 This is close to where it was caught
30:57 yesterday on a mechanical horse, high
30:59 hopper into the sweets, onto the
31:01 asphalt.
31:03 Quickly 0-2. Krispinsky's done a really
31:05 good job of getting ahead of these bats.
31:06 >> Yeah, he just fills it up.
31:09 >> Beach to you. That's what that means.
31:11 Beach to you.
31:12 >> I thought he was asking for a margarita.
31:14 That's what that looked like. I I
31:15 thought he was
31:17 he was trying to trying to ask
31:18 take a margarita [music] to the beach
31:19 and take I I don't know what he was
31:20 asking.
31:22 It's confusing. [cheering]
31:23 >> It'll catch on. Big swing and a miss.
31:26 That one ran away from the barrel and
31:28 Mac Danford has to take a trot back to
31:30 the dugout. Double for Crab. That one a
31:33 beauty.
31:36 Big bender stopped by Ashby Bininger.
31:38 There's one down.
31:39 >> You got a margarita pizza?
31:41 >> Oh, just delicious.
31:44 >> I don't even know what's on them.
31:45 >> I'll trade you.
31:46 >> But I had one the other night. And I'll
31:47 tell you what, it was amazing.
31:49 >> Come on, it's sauce, cheese, and basil.
31:52 It's the most simple topping pizza there
31:54 is.
31:55 >> You say basil, I say basil. Either way,
31:58 it works. Jose Balvin Gonzalez.
32:01 I love this dude. Double from him last
32:03 night.
32:04 >> [cheering]
32:05 >> Talking about his approach with him at
32:06 breakfast this morning. He's starting to
32:07 feel a lot more comfortable with the
32:09 speed of the banana ball. Dude who
32:10 played in the first ever two banana ball
32:11 games. Obviously,
32:13 the game's come a long way since then.
32:15 >> Strokes it over to second. Dalton Ball
32:17 gets second trick play for the vet.
32:19 Jordan Brewer closes things up. It's a
32:21 quick two outs. And I'll tell you what,
32:23 for all the experience he's got in a
32:25 yellow uniform, Austin Krispinsky making
32:27 his first start, it feels like he's been
32:29 here before.
32:31 >> Well, he has. I I just not in the
32:33 starter role. I banana ball experience
32:35 is irreplaceable. You seen another man
32:36 who used to wear yellow, Andy Archer,
32:38 last night how quickly he was working.
32:40 You just cannot replace experience in
32:42 this sport, banana ball experience so
32:43 vital. Which is why Grim was such a high
32:46 draft pick for these Coconuts. Oh,
32:48 Crock, what's he doing?
32:50 >> Hey coach, I heard that you're supposed
32:52 to be on your feet when you ride a
32:53 surfboard. I'm going to have to take
32:55 that up with them.
32:57 >> Quickly 0-2 again. OH, HE LISTENED. OUT
33:00 OF THE WAY, CROCK. Now you're catching a
33:02 wave.
33:04 Got his daughter in attendance this
33:06 afternoon.
33:08 Grim wheeling, DEALING, SLICING AND
33:11 DICING. It's another punch out. He's
33:13 pointing them back to the dugout beach
33:15 two you.
33:17 Honor it.
33:22 >> Three up, three down for Grim.
33:24 That's a That's a very, very efficient
33:26 inning. Two ponches, a trick play in the
33:29 field. Most importantly for those
33:31 Coconuts, still a zero on the scoreboard
33:34 for the Tailgaters.
33:35 >> Mark Crockett is still riding that
33:37 surfboard. Loves what he just saw from
33:40 his day two starter. Loves even more
33:42 what he's seeing from the 9,000-plus in
33:44 attendance. Loco Beach is a family and
33:47 you're all a part of it. Speaking of our
33:49 family, our very own Rex Castillo live
33:51 on the sideline. How you doing?
33:54 >> Hey guys, so these two are now in the
33:55 same uniform, but this isn't the first
33:56 time they share the same uniform.
33:58 Keegan, we'll start with you. What is it
33:59 like to be on this uniform in this
34:00 uniform with this guy?
34:01 >> Oh man, it's unbelievable. I spent five
34:03 years in the Colorado Rockies system
34:04 with this guy. Got to room with him on
34:06 the road. Got to have some friendly
34:08 banter back and forth. So, being
34:09 roommates here as Coconuts, dude, it's
34:11 awesome. It's a dream come true.
34:12 >> That family uh friendly banter is now on
34:14 the Loco Beach. What's it like to sell
34:16 out stadiums like this and share the
34:17 good vibes of Loco Beach with a familiar
34:19 face like Keegan?
34:19 >> Oh, it it makes it so much easier. It's
34:21 so much fun to have a lot of familiar
34:23 faces around us like, you know, Tanner
34:25 Allen kicking in as well and Payton
34:26 Shattuck and Yaya. So, having a lot of
34:28 family atmosphere around here, it's easy
34:30 to spread that with the Loco Beach fans.
34:32 >> To these guys who know all about Ohana,
34:34 but let's send it back to our family up
34:35 in the booth. AJ, Brett, back to you.
34:37 >> They don't only know about Ohana. They I
34:39 mean, these guys have known each other
34:41 for so long. It's got your heart beating
34:42 a little quicker, doesn't it, Brett?
34:43 >> No, Rex called me family. How nice of
34:45 you.
34:46 >> Oh, that's what you were eyeing?
34:47 >> Yeah.
34:48 I mean, guys live together all the time.
34:50 I asked you to live with me, and you
34:51 said that you'll think about it. That
34:52 was 3 weeks ago. I just kind of
34:54 disappointed me a little bit. I thought
34:55 we were family.
34:57 >> We are, but you've only got one bed.
35:00 >> Well,
35:01 there's an air mattress in my apartment.
35:03 >> Geez, man.
35:04 >> You don't want to sleep on the floor?
35:06 Drake Tows done that a many of times at
35:08 my house. He'll sleep on the floor all
35:09 the time.
35:15 I guess he doesn't want to sleep on the
35:16 floor. You know what? Eric iceberg,
35:18 lefty lefty match up.
35:20 >> Sky high, that one's lost up in the sun.
35:22 Mac Danford taking back OVER AT FIRST,
35:25 BEHIND THE BACK, HE GOT IT. OH, YEAH.
35:28 >> MAC MCMURDO!
35:30 WHAT ABOUT THAT? TOWS IS THE COWBOY HAT.
35:35 OH, MAN. BOOK IT. SECOND TRICK PLAY of
35:39 the BALL GAME.
35:41 >> [cheering]
35:41 >> THAT'S A BAD MAMA JAMMA.
35:43 >> YOU KNOW WHAT? If I can learn from him,
35:45 I'll consider sleeping on the floor.
35:48 >> Tied.
35:50 All knotted up at twos in the trick play
35:52 column, nothing nothing ball game. One
35:55 swing can change it. Here's Dane Toplin.
35:59 Stares down a strike.
36:03 Those are scrunchies around his
36:04 shoulders, by the way.
36:06 Thought those were meant for hair.
36:08 Lined out to the fans, they've got an
36:10 opportunity, but again,
36:12 no cigar.
36:13 >> That man in a tailgater's jersey who
36:15 possesses a glove, moved out of the way.
36:18 What are we doing?
36:19 >> Great feel.
36:21 Toplin able to battle this one in play.
36:24 It's cracked over to Jordan Barth, and
36:26 that's an easy going
36:28 out number two.
36:29 >> And another trick play. Hey, man,
36:31 Tailgaters the away team today on the
36:33 scoreboard. They now lead it in the
36:34 trick play battle. Equalizer point very
36:36 much so in play.
36:38 >> Rocco's coconuts were very very aware of
36:41 what this team brings to the table.
36:42 Didn't see it in Tallahassee, did last
36:44 night. 13 trick plays. So, they'll have
36:46 to keep pace with one of the league's
36:48 best. Shot Tonya, this one will
36:50 certainly have a chance. But again, no
36:53 play made. I'll tell you, that's a bit
36:55 deception.
36:56 >> Yeah, those folks are getting active. A
36:57 lot of Tailgaters colors over there as
37:00 well.
37:01 >> I love it.
37:03 >> You know, I can't wait either. A.J.
37:05 Swytek, if I may wax poetically for a
37:07 moment, when we go to Delaware, we go to
37:10 Maine, we go to all these home loco
37:12 games this year, and see all that teal
37:14 and orange. It's really going to warm my
37:15 heart.
37:16 >> It is. I'm already seeing it here.
37:18 >> Nope, we're in Texas.
37:19 >> Look behind the plate.
37:20 >> We are in Texas.
37:21 >> And laser still on, and it's a sunshiny
37:24 day from the beach. 3-1 ball four spread
37:27 in play. Shot Tonya.
37:29 Vince sends it into the air. High fly
37:32 ball. Jose Gonzalez can't clamp it. It's
37:35 out of the leather, and that's an error
37:38 in right that extends the second inning.
37:42 Look like he was thinking, do I tip it
37:44 up to my teammate? Do I make the grab?
37:47 And ultimately, just couldn't clamp it.
37:49 >> It's why you're breaking in the leather.
37:51 Everyone's rocking new gloves this
37:52 season. I'll give him a pass.
37:53 >> Yeah, I think he was in between it. Tip
37:55 drill and just catching it straight up,
37:56 and kind of bit him in between right
37:58 there.
37:59 Could be very big. We've seen Tanner
38:00 Allen with the error in left last night,
38:02 leading to a walk-off, which ended up
38:04 leading to the showdowns for the
38:06 Tailgaters. So, again, this could be a
38:07 big run and point over there at first.
38:11 >> But now it's up to Grady Morgan to take
38:13 advantage of the opportunity.
38:14 >> Caden Bowler, by the way, running over
38:16 at first.
38:20 >> And he's off to the races. Good eyes,
38:21 Brett. Throw it out. Not in time. Got
38:24 underneath the hurdle.
38:26 >> Sorry, that is Payton Shat Tanya.
38:27 >> That is Payton Shat Tanya.
38:28 >> Figure that used Kaden. We didn't see
38:30 him last night at all.
38:31 >> I can't believe I said good eyes. You
38:32 need to get those checked.
38:33 >> Yeah, I got glasses in my book bag.
38:36 >> Didn't you say you needed a cardiologist
38:37 last night? We're going to add it to the
38:38 list.
38:39 >> an optometrist.
38:42 >> Morgan.
38:44 Sky high. Another chance for the fans.
38:48 Again.
38:50 It can't be brought in.
38:51 >> There's Kaden Ball. Glad we were able to
38:53 find him. Indy Morales.
38:54 >> a big hat on.
38:55 >> Indy Morales getting a little tanning
38:56 oil on him.
38:58 It's perfect day to tan, I tell you
38:59 what, here in Frisco.
39:04 >> Christian Davis. The neon green cleats.
39:08 This is low. That's a good take from
39:09 Grady Morgan.
39:12 He's got mom and dad in attendance this
39:14 afternoon.
39:15 Looking to put on a show.
39:18 Skips by. Play it. Third. Porter with a
39:21 laser beam, but Shat Tanya's too quick.
39:23 And now we're in testy territory. Deuces
39:25 are so wild right now, Brett. Two two
39:28 count, two down. Second inning and a
39:30 second stolen base for Shatty.
39:39 Morgan stays alive.
39:42 >> The undertones of grub.
39:46 Can Christian Davis gator up right here
39:48 and keep it a nothing nothing ball game?
39:55 >> We try the two two again.
39:58 Nails it.
39:59 Oh boy.
40:00 This can't be good. Oh no, is he out
40:03 cold? Oh no.
40:05 Come on, meatball. Help him down the
40:07 line.
40:09 Oh no.
40:13 We worked on this all week and said it
40:15 could be anyone but the bald guy.
40:17 They're supposed to pull his hair and
40:18 put his head up, but he doesn't have
40:20 any.
40:21 Joe, you're getting a look into the
40:23 future touching that head. Oh, Grady.
40:27 Feel better, man.
40:29 It was a good fight at the plate. Please
40:30 wake up.
40:33 Please, Grady.
40:36 Awaken.
40:38 Oh, no. They've got to get him a chair.
40:43 Rub that head.
40:45 >> YOU KNOW WHAT HE NEEDS?
40:47 A MARGARITA.
40:50 >> YOU'VE GOT MARGARITAS ON YOUR MIND, my
40:51 boy.
40:52 >> Just the pizza, man. I just figured it
40:54 just look looks like what he needed
40:55 right there. I don't know.
40:57 >> Here comes one of the hottest hitters in
40:58 the league, Gideon Antal.
41:00 I will say Grady Morgan on his feet.
41:02 They've taken the chair away.
41:05 Walk-off runs dead in on third. The Ant
41:08 Man pops it up and out of play.
41:13 One nearly got a piece of you.
41:15 >> Yeah, it might have been 500 ft to the
41:17 right.
41:18 >> To the right, TO THE RIGHT.
41:20 >> [laughter]
41:21 >> ONE ONE SPOT.
41:25 OOH, that's filthy.
41:26 Antal doesn't like the call.
41:30 We've seen how he reacts to these
41:31 situations. Line drive, left field.
41:34 Johnny on the spot, Jason Art, puts a
41:36 close to the second and we're scoreless
41:38 through two. Good fight from Loco Beach,
41:40 better recovery from the Tailgaters.
41:42 >> You know what C. D. needs? A spray. Cuz
41:45 that was crispy right there. He was able
41:47 to get out of that inning. The E9 and
41:48 then the hit by pitch. Nonetheless, a
41:51 couple of scoreless frames here. The
41:53 offense was going last night, A. J., but
41:54 when you play these back-to-backs like
41:56 that, a 7:00 p.m. first pitch last
41:58 night, 1:00 p.m. first pitch today,
42:00 you're going to see a lack of offense
42:01 early.
42:02 Now we have a love at first bite.
42:05 >> There is nothing better than sharing a
42:07 hot dog with somebody you love. And so
42:09 we We three couples down here on the
42:11 field, and they're about to eat a hot
42:13 dog Lady and the [ __ ] style.
42:16 But here's the thing. Two of these
42:17 couples have been together for a pretty
42:19 long time. One of these couples met just
42:22 two hours ago.
42:25 That's right. We're going to meet the
42:26 couples and watch them eat, and then
42:27 it's going to be up to you, the fans, to
42:29 try and figure out who are actually our
42:31 singles. Couple number one, what are
42:33 your names?
42:34 >> I'm Liz.
42:35 >> Andrew.
42:36 >> Liz and Andrew, let's get to eating.
42:40 Let's look for some chemistry, Frisco.
42:46 >> [cheering]
42:47 >> Woah!
42:50 I'm not quite sure what yet. Okay,
42:52 family show.
42:54 We were supposed We're eating hot dogs,
42:56 not each other's tongues. Couple number
42:58 two, what's your name?
43:00 >> Ryan.
43:01 >> Ryan.
43:02 >> Ryan and Ryan, the Ryans, ladies and
43:05 gentlemen.
43:06 Let's eat the hot dog.
43:07 >> [screaming]
43:09 >> Out of the wrapper it goes.
43:11 Let's see if it
43:14 Seem like they've done this before.
43:20 >> He didn't even swallow the hot dog.
43:23 >> Very good. Couple number three, your
43:25 name?
43:26 >> Caitlin.
43:27 >> Caitlin and Oh.
43:29 Caitlin and Cole.
43:31 Third couple, final dog.
43:33 >> These two met each other five minutes
43:35 ago.
43:36 True story.
43:38 Oh, they want it. They want it. We're
43:40 going loco.
43:41 Woah. I think
43:43 >> First bite, I don't know how you guys
43:44 are going to decide,
43:45 but we got to figure it out.
43:47 Do you think our singles were couple
43:49 number one?
43:52 Couple number two?
43:56 Or couple number three?
43:59 All righty. Would the couple THAT MET
44:01 JUST TWO HOURS AGO, please step forward.
44:08 Ladies and gentlemen, the Ryans. This
44:10 was love at first bite.
44:13 >> True story. True story, AJ. That that
44:15 couple on the end, the the one with the
44:18 height difference,
44:19 I was down there pregame doing my
44:20 pregame entertainment stuff. Literally
44:23 had just met pregame. As now, Be
44:26 Everywhere Brett Carson enters with
44:28 Peter Colada and Coco.
44:31 >> And he's putting the lime in the
44:32 coconut.
44:36 Shake that thing all up, oh boy. Dual
44:38 threat Brett's throwing warm-ups with a
44:40 lime cuz why not?
44:44 Got the same first name, you coined the
44:46 nickname Be Everywhere.
44:48 Frank, you told me this is your guy, so
44:50 gas him up a little bit.
44:51 >> He's my guy, man. I don't have
44:52 handshakes with too many people in this
44:54 life.
44:55 Me and BC do. I I talked to his dad
44:57 pregame. He's so happy to be a Coconut.
45:00 You know, obviously a guy that was
45:01 really good for us as a two-way player
45:03 last year. Brett Carson, now with Loco
45:06 Beach. Think he's going to have a lot of
45:07 success. I don't think those numbers
45:09 tell you the full story from last year.
45:10 First half, Brett Carson was as good as
45:12 any pitcher in our sport. And now he's a
45:14 Loco Beach Coconut, feels at home, and
45:17 happy to see him back on the bump here
45:18 against these Dell games.
45:19 >> He's had so much success because of that
45:21 unique arm slot. He nearly throws it
45:24 sidearm and still gets 93 miles an hour
45:26 on the fastball.
45:27 >> And he was a D3 guy. Like, it's one of
45:30 our best stories in our sport. Played
45:32 independent ball in 2024. Comes to us
45:35 last year
45:36 and absolutely love love what he brings
45:38 both on the mound. And hopefully you get
45:40 to see him hit a few times this year for
45:42 Loco Beach.
45:44 >> Been working on that as well. They don't
45:46 call him Dual Threat Brett for nothing.
45:47 Also sports a 12-6 curveball and a
45:50 changeup.
45:51 Here and there he'll throw in a slider
45:53 in a two-strike count.
45:57 See what he goes to here.
45:59 He goes to a backdoor punchy.
46:02 Brett Carson feeling himself on the
46:05 bump. Indiana Stanley another victim of
46:09 a Loco Beach K.
46:11 >> That's a beautiful pitch from Brett
46:13 Carson and lefty righty just coming in.
46:15 OH MAN, THE BODY roll from BC. Now he
46:18 gets to face My July, my lead senior of
46:22 the Texas Tailgaters band, Jason Up.
46:26 >> Arden had what was probably the hardest
46:28 hit banana ball last night.
46:30 Just one. A foot foul down the left
46:32 field side and it 515 miles an hour.
46:37 >> Like you said, about 5 ft foul.
46:42 >> Carson pitching around him right now.
46:48 He's able to get one sky high.
46:52 Ball calls off his outfield, second
46:54 baseman does it the old fashioned way.
46:57 >> [cheering]
46:57 >> Coconut's very comfortable out there.
46:59 Cool, calm, collected. Everything going
47:02 to plan for this defense.
47:05 >> Everything going to plan for both
47:06 defenses right now. I mean offense has
47:08 been hard to come by. So far in the ball
47:10 game each team only has one hit, Nick
47:12 Lopez a single and Ben Parker a single.
47:14 That's it. That's all That's only two
47:15 hits we've had in the ball game thus
47:16 far. Now the bottom of this order
47:19 for the Texas kid, our captain, Jordan
47:20 Hussein. Five-er last night, one for
47:23 three.
47:25 But it was what he did in the field, AJ
47:27 Swatski. He had three trick plays in a
47:29 single inning, five across all nine
47:31 frames.
47:32 >> It's a moment there we were looking at
47:33 each other like he could be hunting down
47:35 the single game record. It was that kind
47:36 of night.
47:37 >> He was two away, already has one today.
47:42 >> Now he puts a good charge in the one in
47:44 the center. BEN PARKER BACKTRACKS AND
47:47 BACK FLIPS.
47:50 HOW DO YOU DO? Get the tip of the helmet
47:53 from Jordan Hussein and get ready to see
47:56 that all season. Ben Parker learned how
47:58 to do a backflip at 9 years old and now
48:03 it's time for some honor. Let's check in
48:05 with Bananas Foster.
48:06 >> Across the United States, there are over
48:09 400,000
48:11 children and teens in foster care
48:14 without a permanent home. To raise
48:16 awareness and support this community, we
48:18 created Bananas Foster, the official
48:21 nonprofit of Bananas Hall.
48:23 Our organization is dedicated to
48:26 celebrating the foster care community
48:28 while educating and inspiring others to
48:31 get involved. Today, we get to celebrate
48:34 the Floro family. Chelsea and Ryan
48:37 became licensed foster parents in their
48:39 20s to give children, teens, and
48:42 medically fragile kiddos a safe and
48:45 loving home.
48:47 Since then, Chelsea has become a blogger
48:49 and inspired thousands of people online
48:52 through her social media page to make a
48:54 difference in the [music] foster care
48:55 community.
48:57 Additionally, the Floros together have
48:59 created a community nonprofit that
49:02 supports children and families as they
49:04 begin their foster journey.
49:06 Over the last 10 years, the Floros have
49:09 welcomed 16 children and teens into
49:13 their home. Fans, please join me in
49:16 celebrating this incredible family for
49:19 making a difference right here in your
49:22 community.
49:51 >> Special seats down on the grass.
49:55 You know, in Banana Land, it's rare
49:57 you're going to see the same thing
49:58 twice. But, there's a reason you see
50:00 Bananas Foster at every single game.
50:02 You'd like to get involved, you text
50:04 your bunch. That's b u n c h to 50155
50:09 is the word Bananas Foster.
50:10 >> Yeah, Christian slashed the floral fan
50:13 today. That was awesome stuff. Like you
50:16 said, man, it's it's always the best
50:17 moment of any Banana Ball game that you
50:19 get to say, no matter if you're in
50:20 Memphis, Savannah, or you're here with
50:22 us here in Frisco this weekend, always
50:24 the most special moment of the afternoon
50:27 in this case. That's what we always see.
50:29 The boys in those denim blues facing
50:32 those coconuts today. A.J. Slaight
50:34 Christian Davis back out there for his
50:37 third inning of work, man. CD able to
50:39 work out of a jam his last time out. And
50:41 I'm going to knock on some wood before I
50:43 say this.
50:44 This looks like vintage Christian Davis.
50:45 This looks like the guy we seen the
50:46 first 3 and 1/2 months of the year last
50:48 year. You know, CD took the off season.
50:50 He got jacked, man. He put on about
50:52 10-15 lbs of muscle, which I know
50:55 you all are home saying, "Bret, you say
50:56 this about every single guy." A lot of
50:58 guys did. They took this off season
51:00 really serious. They got in the weight
51:01 >> Not just the people at home, I was
51:03 thinking it, too.
51:03 >> I mean, hey, I even put on 10-15 lbs of
51:05 muscle. That's not a joke. I really did.
51:07 >> No, that is real. I can I can feel the
51:09 biceps out right now.
51:11 That thing's real, but you know, CD,
51:13 tall task, but you look at what's
51:15 happened. He's got to eat straight guys.
51:17 >> No hits. Yeah, I mean, you had a couple
51:19 guys reach out to him saying, but has
51:20 not given a hit since he gave up one to
51:22 Ben Parker who's due up second in the
51:24 inning to lead off the bottom of the
51:25 first. So, again, on that note, cardio,
51:28 these guys getting in shape from that
51:29 aspect, putting on those muscles, as my
51:31 dad would say. You got to have it here
51:34 to stay healthy in Banana Ball.
51:36 >> Dalton across Savannah's first one. Oh,
51:39 good thing that didn't find a
51:40 windshield.
51:41 >> Those vocal muscles for him.
51:42 >> Dalton
51:44 >> the songbird of our generation really
51:46 beefed up in the off season. Listen to
51:48 him on Banana Land and see his flight to
51:49 joy there.
51:50 >> That little itty-bitty ukulele he's got.
51:54 >> He's able to play it while singing.
51:56 >> I've eaten margarita pizzas bigger than
51:58 that ukulele he's got.
52:00 >> How many margarita pizzas have you had
52:02 in your life?
52:02 >> None.
52:03 >> That's what I thought.
52:05 We tell the truth here. The one-two.
52:08 >> Josh battled off. He got to that one in
52:10 the last possible moment.
52:12 >> How many margarita pizzas have you had?
52:13 >> Way more than I can count. We used to do
52:15 it every Monday. And that's not
52:16 hyperbole.
52:20 >> Strikes through it.
52:21 >> CD down to a knee.
52:23 >> And he's
52:24 hunting for another cat.
52:26 >> Punched the first ONE IN THE GAME for
52:28 Christian Davis. A guy who pitches to an
52:31 awful lot of contact. When he was
52:33 pitching last year, no pitcher recorded
52:35 more trick plays behind him than
52:37 Christian Davis. He induces contact.
52:39 That's what he does. But he can get some
52:40 Ks every once in a while.
52:42 >> Here comes Ben Pumps Parker.
52:45 >> He's going to have the second most
52:46 electric moment of this game so far
52:48 behind only Bananas Foster. First
52:50 backflip catch of 2026.
52:53 Not to toot my own horn, but I saw it
52:54 coming.
52:56 He does gainers with the best of them.
52:58 One hopper over to Travis Moon. He can't
53:01 handle it. And Ben Parker's on for a
53:03 second time in this game. Everything is
53:05 going Pumps' way early this season.
53:09 >> Yeah, I would assume that's going to be
53:10 a trick play missed.
53:13 >> Yes. We're going to confirm
53:15 >> that one. It would appear so. It's kind
53:16 of bobbled after it went between the
53:18 legs. Trick play missed there on Moon.
53:23 >> It's a runner on with one away. Here
53:24 comes TA.
53:27 >> UP THERE SWINGING. TANNER ALLEN GIVES IT
53:30 A DRIVE. RIGHT FIELD. BACK
53:32 >> [screaming]
53:32 >> AND GONE!
53:36 IT'S A WALK-OFF WINNER
53:40 FOR TANNER ALLEN.
53:46 >> [cheering]
53:57 [cheering]
53:57 >> That ball's going on a vacation and word
54:00 says there's no return flight. Tanner
54:03 Allen second hit of the ballgame for the
54:05 Coconut's. First big fly of the series
54:09 and it comes in a big moment. Man, you
54:11 can see those muscles. He doesn't need a
54:13 shirt on. He's fearless and he sent that
54:16 one into the fountains and back.
54:24 >> Look, he's got the big fly and he's got
54:26 more TANNING ON HOW DID THAT FEEL TO
54:28 WALK OUT THAT INNING?
54:28 >> That's a barrel, baby. We find barrels
54:30 at Loco Beach. FTB, find the barrel.
54:33 >> But all you need to know, find the
54:34 barrel and he's he's going to get more
54:36 of a tan on. Guys, back to you.
54:38 >> Can I tell you something, A.J.?
54:39 >> Of course.
54:40 >> Can I share something with you in
54:41 confidence? Because I consider you a
54:42 confidant. And all of you watching at
54:44 home.
54:46 It's the first time the Tailgaters have
54:48 ever been walked off.
54:50 Second time
54:51 that I've had a smile on my face. The
54:53 only other time Mitch Moreland walked
54:55 off in
54:56 last year at Mississippi State. Tanner
54:58 Allen, that's my guy. That's cool to
55:00 see. First Banana Ball home run. A guy
55:02 that no one loved having at the state
55:04 show today. Obviously got to talk to him
55:06 a lot about his journey to Banana Ball.
55:08 Pretty cool to see.
55:09 >> FTB.
55:10 >> He was right about saying that was a
55:11 barrel, baby, too.
55:12 Easily.
55:14 I thought brother had a shot at it
55:15 though in right. He scaled the wall, but
55:17 a little bit too high. That's cool to
55:19 see T.A. get his first Banana Ball home
55:20 run. An All-American, ABCA National
55:22 Player of the Year. Guys like that that
55:24 you want in this sport. It's really
55:25 really good and a good way for the
55:27 Coconut's to take a one-nothing lead.
55:29 >> Brett Carson back on the mound. Caden
55:31 Bowler currently doing laps around the
55:33 outfield on the Bowler Board.
55:36 Where else but Loco Beach
55:39 get on the board first here today?
55:41 It's up to Carson to keep it that way.
55:44 This is just low, 2-0 count now.
55:58 Just by talk with a third, this one's
56:01 going to rattle around in the corner. We
56:03 get another look at those packs of
56:04 talent or Allen, but he's not stopping
56:06 at second. That ball stalled up out
56:08 there and it is a triple in style for
56:12 the MoonDawgs.
56:13 >> A three bagger from Trav.
56:17 I mean, you talk about redemption. After
56:19 that trick play missed right [music]
56:21 there, you rope a triple down the line.
56:24 A switch hitter in Travis Muñoz, he
56:26 worked twice as hard in the off season
56:28 on his right-handed swing as he did his
56:29 left-handed swing and it pays off in
56:31 swings like that.
56:32 >> Look at right down the pool side like an
56:34 actual
56:35 >> righty.
56:36 >> As the Tailgaters first run of the game
56:38 standing at third.
56:39 >> How about this? Jordan Brewer playing in
56:42 on the infield cut.
56:44 Everybody else playing at semi-regular
56:46 depth
56:47 here on the Coconuts infield.
56:53 >> Broken bat, routine popped up and
56:57 finished for a trick play. The middle
56:59 infielders
57:01 plenty of chemistry. Shot Donahue to
57:04 Dalton Maldonado.
57:05 >> Throughout number one, just what the
57:06 doctor ordered for the Beach.
57:08 >> It's big, it puts the Coconuts back
57:09 ahead in the trick play category 4-3.
57:12 Good connection there from Shotty and
57:14 Dalton Maldonado. And then a little
57:15 firewood as Meatball will take that back
57:17 to the dugout.
57:20 >> Jordan Barth wanted every bit of that
57:21 one.
57:26 Carson working efficiently. Oh, man.
57:28 Took a little off of it and fooled him.
57:31 Quickly 0-2.
57:33 Big hop on the right side, but it's
57:35 foul.
57:39 >> JB really rakes against left-handed
57:40 pitching.
57:42 >> Got to fight out of this 0-2 count.
57:46 Elevated heat.
57:47 Nothing to be found upstairs.
57:50 Brett Carson Got him.
57:52 >> And that's what BC does so, so well. He
57:55 changes that arm angle from down here
57:57 and then elevates the fastball. Two
57:59 outs,
58:00 >> BUT WHAT DO WE GOT GOING ON? K-MART, ARE
58:02 YOU IN A TRUCK?
58:11 >> [music]
58:17 [music]
58:25 >> Shake it, Jimmy Lewis.
58:31 Welcome to the action.
58:33 He's shredded.
58:36 He's country.
58:39 Hit a golden bat home run last night.
58:43 He is 225
58:45 lbs of pure muscle.
58:47 And buddy, he
58:49 is Kyle Martin.
58:52 >> That's a good walk-up right there.
58:57 Got a tattoo.
58:59 I think that's permanent.
59:00 I would never get country written on my
59:02 chest.
59:04 >> Oh, he wanted to come out with a real
59:06 piece of authority after that walk-up,
59:08 but Brett Carson's got other plans.
59:11 0-1 turns 0-2. He's swinging out of his
59:13 shoes. Ashby Bonham's like, "Get out of
59:14 my way. I'm just chilling back here."
59:22 Carson's the dealer.
59:25 All of his cards to his chest. he going
59:27 to and gets by and brings in a run.
59:31 First of the day for Texas, Travis
59:33 Moore.
59:35 Burns the dish with his finger.
59:38 And that was what you couldn't do with
59:40 the O2 spot.
59:41 >> And you know what? BC's got to be happy
59:42 that just one run scored and Kmart
59:44 stayed in the dish. How Martin could
59:46 have stolen first and that ball squi-
59:49 squirmed away, whatever you want to say.
59:50 Got away far enough. Cal Martin could
59:52 have went first.
59:53 >> Daddy wanted to take a hack.
59:56 Is Ben Parker going to do it again?
59:59 Uh does it the easy way this time. Texas
1:00:02 scores one up to Loko Beach to find an
1:00:05 answer in the home half.
1:00:08 >> Came
1:00:09 out of ball that hopped in the sand. On
1:00:11 the beach we're used to those things
1:00:12 just sticking in the sand. Why Why is
1:00:14 the sand so leveled out here?
1:00:17 It's a baseball field.
1:00:20 >> Yeah, I guess you're right. I thought we
1:00:21 were at the beach, but no matter where
1:00:23 you are, you love Hey Baby. Let's do it.
1:00:26 >> THANK YOU FOR JOINING TODAY. THANK you
1:00:27 for bringing the energy for us. Now
1:00:30 we're going to pick it up with the big
1:00:31 banana ball tradition. So I need
1:00:33 everyone on your feet.
1:00:36 Our capacity crowd, 9,000 fans on your
1:00:40 feet.
1:00:41 Cuz we're going to get the biggest Hey
1:00:42 Baby Frisco has ever seen. So everyone
1:00:44 get their hands up in the air.
1:00:46 Here we go. LUKE, DO IT UP.
1:00:50 LET'S CLAP THOSE HANDS.
1:00:54 OH, YOU GUYS LOOK GOOD.
1:01:01 NOW get those foam fingers waving.
1:01:08 Ooh.
1:01:22 Ooh.
1:01:30 >> Now keep it rocking with the Steve
1:01:31 Shuffle.
1:01:38 All right, you guys look good.
1:01:43 Now I want to hear you guys sing it.
1:01:52 >> [groaning and screaming]
1:01:57 >> One more time.
1:02:12 You guys are amazing. Give yourselves a
1:02:14 round of applause.
1:02:21 >> All right, I've got a question for you.
1:02:24 >> [music]
1:02:24 >> You switch up your stance at the end of
1:02:25 the song.
1:02:29 >> I didn't I didn't I didn't know if I was
1:02:31 supposed to my mic was muted that whole
1:02:32 time. I don't know if you heard
1:02:33 >> Oh, you're hearing things AJ. I know you
1:02:36 I know you just started 5 days ago but
1:02:38 you're hearing things.
1:02:39 >> Well, see I'm someone who loves to pay
1:02:41 attention to the YouTube chat and then
1:02:43 either everyone else's favorite part of
1:02:45 that song is ooh ah
1:02:47 or maybe they had you turned off.
1:02:49 >> I don't I don't know I you know, I don't
1:02:51 really sing hey baby a whole lot either.
1:02:53 I There's a part that goes ooh ah in it.
1:02:55 Is that true? I don't know. What I do
1:02:57 know about is Nigel the Crocodile.
1:03:00 On the hat of Brett Dorney Allen who's
1:03:02 the new pitcher in the ball game here
1:03:04 for the Tailgaters. Great outing last
1:03:05 week at FSU recorded a trick play, had
1:03:08 one of the only three scoreless innings
1:03:10 for the Tailgaters and now getting to
1:03:11 make his debut in Texas.
1:03:13 >> Jordan Brewer
1:03:16 shot put into the sky.
1:03:19 Tipped up and it can't be completed.
1:03:22 Sunshine
1:03:24 was there, but not in the right spot. A
1:03:26 little bit too much juice behind the
1:03:27 tip. And Jordan Brewer's given a gift.
1:03:30 Let's see what he does with the one up.
1:04:34 One word to describe that walk up from
1:04:36 Ashby Bining, fabulous.
1:04:39 Nailed it, but what you know about
1:04:41 Sharpay?
1:04:41 >> Oh, everything.
1:04:43 >> I grew up with a sister. You don't think
1:04:44 I
1:04:45 >> seen every High School Musical movie
1:04:46 like it's in the back of my mind at this
1:04:48 point.
1:04:49 >> Andy Archer just threw his head. That
1:04:51 signifies yard card here. I'm just
1:04:52 throwing that out there for all the
1:04:53 people at home. Would also walk off the
1:04:55 inning.
1:04:57 >> Oh!
1:04:58 >> Runner goes. They've got the THROW
1:04:59 BEHIND HIM. JORDAN BREWER, HE BEAT IT
1:05:03 OUT. Not every day a throw behind you
1:05:05 leads to something good, but uh-oh.
1:05:08 He's like, "Yeah, I've got those
1:05:09 wheels."
1:05:13 Had a girl text me one time, tee hee. I
1:05:15 think that was the living embodiment of
1:05:17 that.
1:05:18 Tee hee, once Brew got out there on
1:05:20 second.
1:05:21 Ooh.
1:05:22 Is that worth looking at again?
1:05:26 >> No.
1:05:27 >> Of course you'd say that.
1:05:30 Look at Peter, man. Inspirational.
1:05:35 Staked this one hot to go.
1:05:38 Finding thought about it.
1:05:40 Wisely thought otherwise.
1:05:44 Donny with the runner in scoring
1:05:46 position. Oh, man.
1:05:48 Asbury wanted to take advantage of that
1:05:50 yard cup.
1:05:52 No more strikes to play with.
1:05:54 2-2 count.
1:05:58 Stays alive.
1:06:03 The chat is saying, "Katricia Balae, we
1:06:05 need to do a butt to the top cover, you
1:06:07 and I." Just wanted to put that out
1:06:08 there.
1:06:09 >> Don't have to tell me
1:06:10 >> twice.
1:06:13 Sounds like our average Saturday
1:06:14 together.
1:06:14 >> 100%.
1:06:15 >> We weren't in the booth, of course.
1:06:17 >> Try the deuce deuce again.
1:06:19 Finding
1:06:20 >> again battles it off.
1:06:22 >> How's that one go? Butt butt butt butt
1:06:24 to the top. Is that it? Is that it?
1:06:25 >> That was impressive. Yeah. Okay, yeah.
1:06:27 All right, don't worry. Our cover's
1:06:28 coming.
1:06:31 >> I watched High School Musical more than
1:06:33 once.
1:06:34 >> Good.
1:06:35 >> And I don't have a sister.
1:06:38 >> Asbury's just up there swinging at
1:06:40 everything, and he is able to make
1:06:41 contact with the best of them.
1:06:43 Carries an active hitting streak in
1:06:46 every game he's played in. Looks to
1:06:48 extend it here.
1:06:55 Finding goes down ON STRIKES.
1:06:59 >> HOT CHIP.
1:07:01 VISITOR. VISITOR. And with the power of
1:07:04 Nigel the crocodile, Donny comes out on
1:07:06 top for out number one.
1:07:09 >> I don't think the crocodile had anything
1:07:11 to do that was a beautiful pitch up and
1:07:13 in against
1:07:14 >> you discredit Nigel?
1:07:17 All right, fine. It was all Nigel.
1:07:21 Here's up Eric Gasper. Had a golden
1:07:23 batter opportunity last night, the
1:07:25 fourth round pick by Mark Crocco.
1:07:29 Now batting in a standard spot. He
1:07:31 barely gets a piece of that one. He's
1:07:33 the Duncan Donut batter here today.
1:07:35 >> Should he strike out, it's free donuts
1:07:37 for the over 9,000 here at Ryder's
1:07:40 Field.
1:07:43 He's not going to make it easy though.
1:07:45 This is a professional hitter.
1:07:46 10 years of pro experience.
1:07:48 >> [cheering]
1:08:00 >> Just off. Just a hair off. I want these
1:08:02 people to get some donuts, Val.
1:08:04 I want these people to eat some of those
1:08:06 tasty Dunkin Donuts.
1:08:10 Come on, Donny. Hunker down.
1:08:14 Eric Gasper
1:08:16 splashed in the right.
1:08:18 Brother Gonzalez LOST IT IN THE LIGHT.
1:08:21 IT'S DOWN.
1:08:22 THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS at the beach.
1:08:25 What you got the sunglasses on for?
1:08:28 Gasper's going to get credit with a
1:08:30 double.
1:08:32 And no free donuts.
1:08:36 Armani Henderson now running in second.
1:08:40 And the Coconuts had a perfect
1:08:41 opportunity as the tailgaters bring the
1:08:43 infield in to walk this one off.
1:08:47 >> They turn to the greatest athlete to
1:08:49 ever wear number 23, Dane Toplin.
1:08:52 >> What up, Matt Diaz?
1:08:54 >> Yeah, I'll take Dane
1:08:55 in four games.
1:08:59 >> What about Joe Sparrow?
1:09:01 >> Take Dane in three in a four game
1:09:02 series, by the way.
1:09:09 >> I was just trying to think of more 23s.
1:09:11 I'm I'm I'm cooking on it.
1:09:13 >> While you're thinking of that,
1:09:15 >> Devin Hester.
1:09:17 >> Oh, Chicago kid. I'll say that Dane's
1:09:19 got him in five.
1:09:22 Again,
1:09:23 tying run for the inning is on third.
1:09:26 Walk-off run with plus plus speed on
1:09:28 second, Armani Henderson.
1:09:30 >> With the hula skirt.
1:09:34 >> With the infield in, if Toflin could
1:09:36 just poke one into the shallow grass out
1:09:39 there,
1:09:40 could walk off the inning.
1:09:41 Wanted it there, but instead,
1:09:44 got him close to the hands.
1:09:45 >> The chat brought up the obvious one,
1:09:47 Michael Jordan.
1:09:51 >> Give me Dane in one game.
1:09:54 >> 3-2, he gets THAT SQUIB SHOT. ARMANI'S
1:09:57 GETTING THE SIGNAL HOME. THERE WON'T BE
1:10:00 ANY CONTEST. IT'S ANOTHER LOCO BEACH
1:10:04 WALK-OFF.
1:10:06 Let's go Loco, baby. It's a two-nothing
1:10:09 ball game, and this team is
1:10:10 battle-tested. They're responded well,
1:10:13 and they've doubled up their lead with a
1:10:15 little walk-off. It's time to hit the
1:10:17 tsunami.
1:10:22 >> This is impressive.
1:10:23 First, synchronized swimming. I want
1:10:26 this added to the Olympics.
1:10:28 Synchronized coconut dancing, where the
1:10:29 only team that enters would take gold
1:10:31 every year.
1:10:36 Seth Parker gets the solo at the end of
1:10:38 every single performance, too, by the
1:10:41 Who doesn't want to look at those arms?
1:10:43 >> Everybody. Who doesn't want to look at
1:10:45 this swing again, though? Incredible
1:10:47 swing from Dane Toflin. That is just a
1:10:50 great way to go up two to nothing. Hey,
1:10:52 Texas, hold them.
1:10:57 >> Well, we got a couple down here, and
1:10:58 we're going to see if their
1:10:59 relationships have what it takes. With
1:11:01 me, I have Javier and Ryan at first base
1:11:03 and their lovely ladies. It's going to
1:11:05 be up to these two gentlemen to run down
1:11:06 and sweep their ladies off their feet
1:11:08 and carry them around the bases. The
1:11:10 first couple through the finish line
1:11:12 will be our winner. We call this one
1:11:15 Texas Hold 'Em. Gentlemen,
1:11:18 to your starting positions. Ladies are
1:11:20 ready. Frisco, count them down in 3
1:11:23 2 1 go!
1:11:28 Ryan and Javier are off meeting their
1:11:31 lovely ladies, Shilen and Madigan at
1:11:33 first. They're up, and we're off towards
1:11:36 second base.
1:11:38 They might have been there a time or
1:11:39 two,
1:11:40 but will their relationship stand the
1:11:42 test?
1:11:44 What is this?
1:11:46 Oh my!
1:11:48 Frisco, as they say, relationships have
1:11:51 their ups and downs, and you're seeing
1:11:53 both of them right now.
1:11:57 They're making their way to third. Both
1:11:59 couples still intact. If either one of
1:12:01 them falls, this might become exes hold
1:12:04 'em.
1:12:05 And what is this? Shilen and Madigan
1:12:09 Ryan and Javier are lifted in the air.
1:12:12 Shilen's moving. Madigan's making a run
1:12:14 for it around the edge.
1:12:17 Shilen pulls through in the end. RYAN,
1:12:20 SHILEN, WINNERS OF Texas Hold 'Em.
1:12:36 >> I'm not from Texas,
1:12:39 but I think in 49 other states, Texas
1:12:42 Hold 'Em has a little bit of a different
1:12:43 meaning. This game might be more fun,
1:12:45 though.
1:12:46 >> Yeah, I was playing that in the hotel
1:12:48 lobby last night with our producer
1:12:50 producer Mohawk Mike.
1:12:52 And he he was he was trying to hold me.
1:12:55 And I told him to get away from me.
1:12:58 And then he told me we were in Texas so
1:13:00 then he had to hold me. And it just
1:13:01 wasn't it was just a whole deal, you
1:13:03 know?
1:13:04 >> You know who I want to hold or at least
1:13:05 see hold the yellow banana ball? Keegan
1:13:07 James, man.
1:13:08 >> Yeah, that's what we call a transition.
1:13:10 I like it. Fastball, curveball, slider,
1:13:12 changeup for the ninth-round pick of the
1:13:14 Local Beach Coconut. This guy was born
1:13:16 on April Fools' Day. Heard from him
1:13:18 earlier on the show.
1:13:21 Five years in the Rockies system with
1:13:23 Will Ethridge, who's now teammate on the
1:13:26 beach.
1:13:27 James is an inning-eater. Expect to see
1:13:30 him get more than one here.
1:13:32 Also spent time at Mississippi State
1:13:34 much like Tanner Allen, who had the
1:13:35 walk-off home run in the third.
1:13:38 Jordan Brewer running out of real estate
1:13:40 and he dives for fun. Why not? Caught it
1:13:42 without it. That's it. I'll give the
1:13:44 fans a little extra show.
1:13:47 >> Incredible play by Brewer. You know, he
1:13:49 he's a guy
1:13:50 >> that played a lot of outfield
1:13:52 during his minor league career. He
1:13:53 played a lot of outfield at Michigan.
1:13:55 He's made that transition, he's embraced
1:13:57 that transition full-time to first base
1:13:59 and you can see it right there.
1:14:00 >> I'm going to change my stance on that.
1:14:02 The dive was needed. Didn't realize he
1:14:04 was that close to the tarp. You don't
1:14:05 want to go knee first into that thing.
1:14:08 >> And it's just added aura.
1:14:10 >> Is that what the kids these days are
1:14:11 using? You're like 17 years old so I
1:14:14 hope that you would know that.
1:14:17 See, I'm still like
1:14:19 kind of on the Fetty Wap kind of thing.
1:14:23 1738 when something's cool.
1:14:25 >> You
1:14:26 you were how old in 2015?
1:14:28 Legitimately, you were how old?
1:14:30 >> 11.
1:14:31 >> You should have not been listening to
1:14:33 Fetty Wap when you were 11.
1:14:34 >> Yeah, actually fun fact, I learned at 11
1:14:38 years old saying I've got a glock in my
1:14:39 rari doesn't play on a plane.
1:14:41 >> No.
1:14:42 Doesn't play anywhere. I don't think
1:14:43 that plays on a broadcast. I don't think
1:14:45 you can say that. I really don't.
1:14:46 >> No, we tried it.
1:14:48 That sticks on the board. Little roller
1:14:50 to short shot Donnie A off platform
1:14:52 twitching is on full display. Jordan
1:14:54 Brewer is like, yeah, I'm a dad. I can
1:14:56 do the splits. Sure. Out number two.
1:14:59 I mean, incredible back-to-back outs for
1:15:02 Brew. Peyton maybe could have went with
1:15:04 a trick play there. Rather pretty good
1:15:06 wheels, though. Just chose to get the
1:15:07 out at first. The ribbon board out in
1:15:09 right still has trick plays at three to
1:15:11 three. Officially on our broadcast and
1:15:13 then we have it at four to three. Really
1:15:14 going to have to clarify that up if the
1:15:15 equalizer point comes into play.
1:15:20 It's a really good point.
1:15:25 Thank you, AJ. Thank you. I was waiting
1:15:27 for it.
1:15:29 Josh Porter
1:15:32 boot scooting boogies that one all the
1:15:33 way down to Dallas.
1:15:36 About 10 minutes up the road.
1:15:38 Give or take. Depending on if there's
1:15:40 traffic.
1:15:42 Was talking to uh one of our
1:15:44 good folks here in Dallas who's working
1:15:45 with us on our crew. Said he lives in
1:15:47 Arlington, so it's about 30 minutes
1:15:48 away. Tailgaters be there. Last regular
1:15:50 season series of the year at Globe Life
1:15:53 Park.
1:15:55 THE ONE TWO, GOT HIM.
1:15:58 Tipped it right back to Ashby Vining.
1:16:00 Fire me up, Keegan James. One two three
1:16:03 inning.
1:16:04 And they've got to cool him off. He's so
1:16:06 hot on the hill.
1:16:10 Let's check out a dance on the field.
1:16:33 >> [music]
1:16:40 [music]
1:16:45 [music]
1:16:55 [music]
1:17:06 [cheering]
1:17:10 [music]
1:17:16 [music]
1:17:35 [cheering]
1:17:41 [cheering]
1:17:42 >> We were able to lasso together some
1:17:44 information during that player dance.
1:17:46 Confirmed 4-3 lead for Loco Beach in the
1:17:49 trick play category going to prove oh so
1:17:51 important as this one rolls on with the
1:17:53 new equalizer point in play.
1:17:55 >> Yeah, that's what I had down in my
1:17:56 scorebook. I was just making sure. I'm
1:17:58 no Josh Zalewski, but I I
1:18:00 I had 4-3 down. The Del Gators have
1:18:02 recorded all three of their trick plays
1:18:04 on three consecutive at-bats. They
1:18:06 spanned across the first and second
1:18:07 innings. Four trick plays dispersed out
1:18:09 for the Coconuts again really trying to
1:18:11 negate that equalizer especially in a
1:18:13 game right now where they hold a 2-0
1:18:15 lead and a chance to take a 3-0 lead in
1:18:17 the bottom of the fifth.
1:18:20 >> Another inning from Brett Downey Allen.
1:18:23 He's going to deal
1:18:25 with 7, 8, and 9 to start things off.
1:18:28 Home run would be an immediate walk-off
1:18:30 for Shot Tony.
1:18:32 Instead, that one's going backwards.
1:18:34 Wrong direction, Peyton.
1:18:36 >> Peyton reached via an error by Jose
1:18:38 Bradley Gonzales.
1:18:40 in his only time at the dish today.
1:18:44 >> That's an empty pitch.
1:18:45 >> Started right in front of Shott Tony's
1:18:47 hips, finished in the zone.
1:18:50 0-2 spot.
1:18:52 Shott Tony battles it to the left side.
1:18:54 Jordan Barth scoops, Mac Danford
1:18:57 finishes, and the ninja umpire Seth
1:18:59 Markham
1:19:01 does a front flip to conclude out number
1:19:03 one in the bottom of the fifth.
1:19:05 >> And that's very important. That ties the
1:19:07 trick plays up at four apiece. Jordan
1:19:09 Barth, man, smooth as silk when it comes
1:19:11 to those. The rookie really, really good
1:19:13 at it. AND UH-OH, THE BOWLER Board is
1:19:16 coming up to hit. Kayden Bowler,
1:19:20 electric guitarist in Jason Arndt's band
1:19:22 last year, now turned entertainment
1:19:24 player for the Loco Beach Bananas.
1:19:29 >> Seen him take batting practice on this
1:19:30 board. It is hard enough. Guys try to
1:19:32 just balance on it, and it's nearly
1:19:34 impossible. So, this is an impressive
1:19:36 feat.
1:19:37 >> Told me if there's anything close to his
1:19:39 wheelhouse, he's going to be swinging
1:19:40 because why not? He's up on the board.
1:19:45 Does it there.
1:19:47 Little dribbler. Glove comes up for
1:19:49 Barth. He goes behind the back, and now
1:19:51 the Tailgaters have the trick play
1:19:53 advantage. Kayden Bowler is going to
1:19:55 have to surf back to the dugout.
1:19:57 >> I have it at four now. Again,
1:19:59 trying to get out of this inning, that's
1:20:00 the big thing. But, you got to give Brad
1:20:02 Allen a lot of credit, too, man,
1:20:03 inducing these ground balls. Maybe a
1:20:06 little bit easier when a guy is trying
1:20:07 to hit on a Bowler Board, but getting
1:20:09 these ground balls, able to get the guys
1:20:11 in blue and orange back ahead in those
1:20:12 trick plays.
1:20:15 >> Brings up the Ant Man. Uh-oh, this is a
1:20:18 prime opportunity for the fans.
1:20:21 Opted in the aisle.
1:20:23 >> My man had his hat out.
1:20:26 Please bring a glove.
1:20:28 Please.
1:20:30 If you're coming to a Banana Ball game,
1:20:31 bring your gloves.
1:20:33 >> I wear mine at home when I watch the
1:20:35 games on TV. You never know when a
1:20:36 ball's going to come through the screen.
1:20:38 >> Why are you lying to the people at home?
1:20:39 >> You've never seen a ball come through a
1:20:41 screen?
1:20:41 >> No, I've watched Bananaball games with
1:20:43 you at home and you never wear a glove.
1:20:45 >> Not an every time thing.
1:20:47 When you're there, I know you'll catch
1:20:49 it. Whoa, down in the squat. Trick
1:20:51 pitch, good take.
1:20:54 >> Wow.
1:20:55 I can't move like that, that's for dang
1:20:56 sure.
1:20:59 Donny
1:21:00 >> The traditional way. They get outside,
1:21:02 Antle, good feel for the zone.
1:21:07 Jokes up on that bat.
1:21:10 OH, GOOD TIMING STOP, JORDAN BARTH.
1:21:14 BUT able to beat it out down the line,
1:21:16 Gideon Antle's got a single. What about
1:21:18 three outs in an inning for Jordan
1:21:20 Barth? Even with two trick plays, that
1:21:22 one would have impressed me both. Just
1:21:25 the sheer effort to stop that in the
1:21:27 first place is phenomenal.
1:21:29 >> And Gideon Antle off to the races, beat
1:21:31 it out.
1:21:32 >> JB has been featured on SportsCenter's
1:21:34 top 10 plays twice in his baseball
1:21:37 career, once at Augustana where he
1:21:39 played collegiately and once when he's
1:21:40 played in two falls in independent ball.
1:21:42 Duke can glove.
1:21:45 There's the 10 hole. [cheering]
1:21:47 Dalton Malden
1:21:53 0 for 1 with a strikeout to this point.
1:21:58 We go to the right side where the fans
1:22:00 can't reel it in.
1:22:01 Good play on the one hop, though.
1:22:10 No more strikes to play with.
1:22:12 Malden puts it in play. We get a charge
1:22:14 on the Oh, man. Charge on the grass, but
1:22:17 it gets out of the dirt and into the
1:22:19 outfield.
1:22:21 >> That took a really weird really weird
1:22:24 hop.
1:22:25 I mean going to end up being an error, I
1:22:27 would assume, on Jordan Hussey, but that
1:22:29 was one of the weirder hops I've ever
1:22:30 seen. Yeah, I mean, it just took a weird
1:22:32 hop, hit off his glove. Cuz it hit his
1:22:34 glove, I think you got to rule it an
1:22:35 error, but that's just an unfortunate
1:22:37 bounce on the cap.
1:22:38 >> Almost looked like Fisher Polidoroff.
1:22:39 That one had some knuckler movement to
1:22:41 it off the grass.
1:22:44 Lineup turns over for Ben Parker.
1:22:47 Inning-winning run in scoring position
1:22:48 now.
1:22:50 Pumps, spits on it.
1:22:54 One for two today.
1:22:56 He's been on base both times he's had
1:22:57 the opportunity, though.
1:23:01 Ball four, Sprit wins the inning.
1:23:04 We'd shock to see him go around here.
1:23:05 That bat's going to stay on the
1:23:07 shoulder.
1:23:08 Daring Donny to find his zone.
1:23:11 Can't do it. Ball four, Sprit. And here
1:23:13 we go.
1:23:15 Gideon Antle all the way around the
1:23:17 bases. He cruises into the plate. It's a
1:23:20 three-nothing
1:23:22 Coconut's lead. Let's go loco, baby.
1:23:26 Through five, it's nothing but teal and
1:23:29 orange, and we're bringing the beach to
1:23:30 you from Frisco, Texas.
1:24:14 >> [screaming]
1:24:16 [cheering]
1:24:23 >> Woo!
1:24:38 >> Chris Clark
1:24:40 the conversation for best mustaches in
1:24:42 the Banana Ball. Yeah, he had himself an
1:24:43 outing yesterday, but today he's had to
1:24:45 play witness from the stands and it's
1:24:47 been nothing but Logo Beach. Five runs
1:24:49 to the Tailgaters, one. Three points the
1:24:52 column that really matters to a donut
1:24:55 for Texas. And Keegan James is back out
1:24:58 for a second inning of work. Last time
1:25:00 around, three up, three down.
1:25:07 Indiana Stanley's got to get out of the
1:25:09 way of it and it gets by. He's off to
1:25:10 the races and it's a steal of first for
1:25:12 Indy.
1:25:13 >> It's funny, man, when you're in a slump
1:25:15 in Banana Ball, you can really find a
1:25:18 way to break dead skin in a many
1:25:20 different ways right there. Hey, just
1:25:22 steal first. WHEN YOU GOT THE WHEELS
1:25:24 Indiana has, just going down the first,
1:25:27 that's a good step in the right
1:25:28 direction when the boys in blue and
1:25:29 orange are already trailing three to
1:25:30 nothing.
1:25:36 My July,
1:25:38 could you be my home run hitter?
1:25:40 Please.
1:25:42 Yard card right now.
1:25:48 Locked him up. 0-2.
1:25:53 Give you a chance to retract it.
1:25:55 >> No.
1:25:56 >> No.
1:25:56 >> Brett stands on business. All 11 toes
1:25:59 down. I heard you had an extra pinky
1:26:00 toe.
1:26:01 >> Not a true story.
1:26:02 >> Oh, you got to retract
1:26:03 >> two extra pinky toes.
1:26:04 >> Oh, 12 toes down. 12 toes down for
1:26:06 Brett.
1:26:08 Everything is bigger in Texas.
1:26:11 Couldn't number of toes on your feet,
1:26:12 Keegan James playing catch with Jordan
1:26:15 Brewer, nothing more than that.
1:26:16 >> It's kind of webbed a little bit. Some
1:26:18 claws coming out of there.
1:26:20 >> Brewer and I have very similar feet to
1:26:22 be quite honest with you.
1:26:23 >> I'm just waiting for you to start
1:26:24 growing the tail.
1:26:26 >> The O2.
1:26:29 >> James slips on the mound and misses just
1:26:31 below Arnt's knees.
1:26:39 >> Talk about guys who put on muscles.
1:26:41 >> Jason Arnt.
1:26:43 >> If I was going on American Idol, I would
1:26:44 have
1:26:45 >> much of the same in the off season to be
1:26:46 quite honest with you.
1:26:47 >> They were loving those abs.
1:26:49 >> Especially Trey Jones.
1:26:51 >> If I was Trey Jones and Carrie Underwood
1:26:53 flirted with me,
1:26:55 what else is there more to do in life,
1:26:57 truthfully, than Carrie Underwood to
1:26:59 flirt with you on national TV?
1:27:02 >> Feel good moment. Runner's going for
1:27:04 second.
1:27:05 But he'll have to head back. Just some
1:27:07 extra exercise. Oh, Sal Giacobbo got a
1:27:09 piece of that one with his lifeguard
1:27:12 gear. That may be more impressive than
1:27:13 making a play in the field.
1:27:20 Keegan James
1:27:21 wants to keep the runner at bay.
1:27:25 One two again.
1:27:29 Arnt says he got him on the shoulder.
1:27:31 Keegan James says, "Dude, he clearly
1:27:33 went around, dude."
1:27:38 And we're going to have to talk about
1:27:39 it.
1:27:39 >> Yeah, he went around. I mean, yeah.
1:27:42 >> [cheering]
1:27:42 >> Didn't he get it?
1:27:44 Did he get the bat or did
1:27:45 >> He got a piece of him.
1:27:45 >> He got a piece of him, but he swung.
1:27:47 >> Yeah, so he's out.
1:27:48 >> I don't know why he's going over to
1:27:49 first.
1:27:51 >> Yeah, I agree. He broke the plane,
1:27:52 unfortunately.
1:27:54 >> Well, okay. So, I actually want to teach
1:27:57 >> This is my teaching moment for the day.
1:27:59 Because when I first learned this, my
1:28:00 mind was blown. You know, breaking the
1:28:02 plane is a myth.
1:28:04 >> Correct. It's all subjective.
1:28:06 >> It is about if there was an intent to
1:28:08 swing.
1:28:09 >> Yes, but the plane is established to
1:28:11 make it more of an objective thing.
1:28:14 >> Well, we're we're both technically wrong
1:28:16 cuz they're saying it called a piece of
1:28:17 the bat.
1:28:20 >> Oh, it did. It barely called the handle.
1:28:23 You can see it right there. If we'll go
1:28:24 back a little bit, it barely called the
1:28:26 handle and then went off of Jason's
1:28:28 shoulder. That's how it called his
1:28:30 shoulder.
1:28:30 >> Okay, that makes a lot more sense.
1:28:32 [screaming]
1:28:33 >> Okay, so he gets some extra life.
1:28:36 >> Let's do the one-two
1:28:37 >> again.
1:28:38 >> Runner goes for second.
1:28:40 >> Spraying up some junk, ball in the dirt.
1:28:42 >> It's a stolen base.
1:28:45 >> Indy has stolen 180 ft worth of bases.
1:28:47 Stole first and has now stole second.
1:28:54 >> Dwa dwa.
1:28:57 >> That one went back when I had a steam in
1:28:59 the foul area.
1:29:00 >> Made a little bit more back spin, Jay,
1:29:02 and that would have been right here in
1:29:03 my face.
1:29:06 >> We're doing them open windows. There's a
1:29:07 chance for it.
1:29:10 >> Ooh, gym music.
1:29:14 >> Sounded like it was playing Jukebox
1:29:15 Hero.
1:29:17 >> Yard dart, right here.
1:29:18 >> Okay.
1:29:22 >> The payoff.
1:29:25 >> Duff job, foul.
1:29:26 >> Sorry.
1:29:27 >> Right here.
1:29:29 >> This next pitch.
1:29:30 >> I'm feeling it, man.
1:29:31 >> Jason's had some incredible BP the last
1:29:33 couple weeks.
1:29:35 >> I mean, we seen what he did last night.
1:29:36 You mentioned it in his first AB today.
1:29:38 Just missed a homer.
1:29:43 >> Hey, it's not a home run, but it's going
1:29:44 to play. Rolling down the line, Tanner
1:29:46 Allen gets there, but Indiana Stanley's
1:29:49 in on a jog. Arnold up at second. It's
1:29:52 an RBI double.
1:29:55 >> Incredible stuff. Jason Arnold, maybe
1:29:57 the best at bat of his banana ball
1:29:59 career. Just a second run. Hopefully,
1:30:01 that'll turn into a point today.
1:30:03 >> Brother.
1:30:04 >> And Brett Sanchez.
1:30:07 >> Okay.
1:30:08 Uh, yep.
1:30:10 Twirl.
1:30:13 Hey. Hey. Yeah. Yeah. Wow.
1:30:16 The only thing more impressive than that
1:30:19 dance is the fact that Brett Sanchez can
1:30:21 somehow fit into those pants.
1:30:25 I don't know
1:30:27 if our baseball ops people ordered him a
1:30:30 youth medium or he intentionally put
1:30:32 that in.
1:30:34 That's incredible stuff, though.
1:30:36 Great run cell.
1:30:38 >> Knowing how sharp our baseball ops
1:30:40 people are, I think he wanted them to be
1:30:41 >> I do, too. No, that's that's yeah, 100%.
1:30:45 >> It's a look, for sure.
1:30:49 And coughed it up and didn't find the
1:30:51 zone.
1:30:52 I'm wondering that pine tar mixed with
1:30:54 dirt on the helmet, it's a look.
1:30:56 >> Pine tar and dirt. Jordan Hussey also
1:30:58 has it on the bill of his cowboy hat.
1:31:01 Old school look, man. That's how we do
1:31:02 it in Texas. That's how the Texas kid
1:31:05 represents the tail's gate tailgater
1:31:06 brand.
1:31:08 Oh.
1:31:11 Thought the Texas kid had another RBI
1:31:12 double.
1:31:14 Like we said, single last night.
1:31:16 Fiver retired via trick play by Ben
1:31:18 Parker, a backflip catch in his lone AB
1:31:20 today.
1:31:21 >> After that one took a dive in foul
1:31:23 territory.
1:31:27 YMCA going on behind him.
1:31:33 Hussey, firewood.
1:31:35 Top wood. Nice stop to go across the
1:31:37 diamond for one, but heads up base
1:31:39 running. Advance aren't to third. That
1:31:42 is incredible base running. Really good
1:31:44 base running. A backhand to third.
1:31:47 >> Dane does a good job of finding the
1:31:49 banana ball with the bat. You see Jason
1:31:51 was already halfway to third. I'm going
1:31:53 to be honest, Dane could have gotten the
1:31:54 run down right there. Smart move by
1:31:56 both, though. Advance up 90 feet by
1:31:57 Jason, and then to get the out number
1:31:59 one over at first.
1:32:00 >> The best kind of trade, one where both
1:32:01 sides are happy.
1:32:05 This Travis Moon
1:32:07 looks to send one in that direction.
1:32:10 Already tripled in this game.
1:32:12 Scored, but nothing to show for it yet.
1:32:14 The Tailgaters over.
1:32:16 New era running the top of the sixth.
1:32:19 Magneaux
1:32:20 shatters it foul.
1:32:24 Just to reiterate, if you're just
1:32:25 joining us, we are playing in Texas, but
1:32:27 the Coconuts are the home team on the
1:32:28 scoreboard up three to nothing this far.
1:32:31 Have won each of the last three innings
1:32:34 here in Frisco.
1:32:38 Gallius 11 Frisco, Travis Magneaux.
1:32:42 I'm sure he'd love to hit one out there
1:32:43 with Tanner Allen in a walk-off home run
1:32:45 in the third out there in right field.
1:32:49 Propelled high into the sky.
1:32:53 No play.
1:32:54 I think the fans are are dealing with
1:32:57 the sun just as much as we are and
1:32:59 players are today.
1:33:06 Look at that infield.
1:33:08 Shifting in on this one-two pitch.
1:33:12 OH, GROSS.
1:33:14 Through the back door. Keegan James
1:33:19 just froze him.
1:33:21 South fish becomes sushi grade. It's
1:33:24 also how you get a one-way trip back to
1:33:26 the dugout.
1:33:31 Up to Lopez to score the run from third.
1:33:35 James comes out of him with the heat,
1:33:36 gets outside.
1:33:38 Ball four sprint would score another run
1:33:40 in the inning for the Tailgaters.
1:33:44 Reason to bring that up, Nick Lopez led
1:33:45 the Tailgaters in ball four sprints last
1:33:47 year.
1:33:48 One of the most rapacious hitters in our
1:33:50 sport.
1:33:55 To add 3-0, this becomes a very
1:33:57 interesting situation.
1:34:02 Don't want to give him something he can
1:34:03 hammer, but you got to find the zone.
1:34:05 >> Perfect pitch from Keegan James. Did
1:34:07 just that.
1:34:09 >> Now anything's in play. Hitters count.
1:34:13 >> The bandanna man misses well outside.
1:34:16 It's the second run for Texas here at
1:34:17 the top of the sixth. Lopez stalls up at
1:34:21 first and the ball four sprint. Play to
1:34:23 second.
1:34:27 >> Yard card didn't hit, but the ball four
1:34:29 sprint card did. I just had a feeling
1:34:31 Lopez Oh, look at that shoulder.
1:34:33 >> Yeah.
1:34:34 >> I mean he he Jason showing he clearly
1:34:36 got hit, but I'm we'll talk to him post
1:34:39 game. I think it hit off the handle like
1:34:41 we said and then got him in the
1:34:42 shoulder. A little reverb action, but
1:34:47 >> Straight through the teeth of the
1:34:48 defense. Cut through it like a knife to
1:34:50 the heart and all of a sudden Texas'
1:34:53 offense is showing up in a big way. The
1:34:55 one run in the fourth, two here in the
1:34:56 sixth.
1:34:58 Got a couple ducks in the ocean.
1:35:00 >> And all this how all this started.
1:35:02 Indiana Stanley
1:35:04 who had a strike out in his first time
1:35:05 around stole first and then got it
1:35:07 going. Jason Arnold long RBI RBI ball
1:35:10 four sprint out single. Cal Martin our
1:35:12 hero last night a chance to make this a
1:35:14 really big inning for the Tailgaters.
1:35:18 >> Gets by. Martin's not going to head for
1:35:20 first, but both runners will advance.
1:35:23 Force no longer in play anywhere
1:35:26 but at first base.
1:35:38 James hoping to stop the damage at a
1:35:40 pair of runs.
1:35:43 Halfway to a ball four sprint one here
1:35:45 would blow the inning wide open.
1:35:49 Good spot to locate.
1:35:50 >> That is a great spot. Against a lefty,
1:35:52 outer half to get back into the zone.
1:35:55 You don't give him a meatball and you
1:35:56 get back in there two and one.
1:36:00 Quickly two-two.
1:36:06 Deuces wild again. Two run frame, two
1:36:09 on,
1:36:10 two down. In a two-two spot, deep
1:36:12 breath, Keegan James.
1:36:14 This is low and away.
1:36:17 This is going to be one of the bigger
1:36:18 pitches of the ballgame
1:36:20 >> right here, A.J. I know we've already
1:36:21 scored two in the top of the sixth, but
1:36:23 this is a paramount pitch for Keegan.
1:36:27 >> And it misses down and in.
1:36:29 Easily going to plate two runs.
1:36:32 Doubles up the lead in the sixth for
1:36:33 Texas. It's a four-nothing inning.
1:36:37 That's the power of the ball for Sprint.
1:36:39 Seen it twice.
1:36:42 You never say no
1:36:44 in the sport of an animated ball.
1:36:46 But getting up by four runs as the away
1:36:48 team in the top half of the inning is
1:36:50 about as an insurmountable of a lead
1:36:52 that you can have.
1:36:54 That's why that's so important. You have
1:36:56 two runs right there going to the bottom
1:36:57 half. Cognizant have a chance to at
1:36:59 least negate the point.
1:37:00 Now a four spot in the inning is
1:37:02 continuing.
1:37:04 Really good insurance policy.
1:37:09 Do they sell that at Kmart?
1:37:12 You know, I know when like Sam's Club
1:37:15 and Costco, they got those cutout
1:37:16 cardboard cards that have like Allstate
1:37:20 and policies and all those other
1:37:22 insurance companies. I don't think they
1:37:23 sell it at Kmart. In large part due to
1:37:26 the majority of the Kmart's across this
1:37:27 great country have closed.
1:37:31 But one stands at first for the Texas
1:37:33 Tailgaters.
1:37:35 >> Shot Tony, a good chance for a trick
1:37:37 play. Between the legs, Jordan Brewer
1:37:39 can't get the double trick play behind
1:37:41 the back and the inning rolls on.
1:37:44 Obviously, you'd like to have that
1:37:45 complete, but it's good feel to go for
1:37:47 the double trick play and the inning
1:37:49 that you already mentioned has gotten
1:37:50 out of hand. You want to make sure you
1:37:52 keep that equalizer point in your
1:37:54 control.
1:37:54 >> Yes and no. I think that's great feel
1:37:56 from Payton Schaut to go ahead and go
1:37:58 for the trick play.
1:38:00 For Brewer, that's one he usually makes,
1:38:02 but with a trick play missed, inning's
1:38:04 already scuffling, you want to be able
1:38:05 to get your guy off the mound and Keegan
1:38:07 James, and you want to continue moving
1:38:08 the ball game forward.
1:38:10 >> Runs on first and third for Brewer.
1:38:15 This could be the inning. High into the
1:38:18 wind tunnel, Ben Parker
1:38:20 gets underneath it and closes things
1:38:23 out, but not before Texas puts four runs
1:38:26 on the board. Loco Beach going to need
1:38:28 an answer in a big way
1:38:30 if they don't want to let the
1:38:32 Tailgaters, or as Brett says, the boys
1:38:35 in blue and orange
1:38:37 get their first point of the game.
1:38:39 Let's head down to CJ on the field.
1:38:42 >> Parents, have you ever wanted to hit
1:38:43 your kid with a water balloon?
1:38:45 Well, this guy it's his lucky day, but
1:38:47 we're not going to make it that easy.
1:38:48 With me is Eric and Ben. Eric is going
1:38:51 to get blindfolded and he has three
1:38:53 water balloons. His son Ben is going to
1:38:55 stand over here and every time he blows
1:38:57 his whistle, his dad's going to try to
1:38:59 hit him with the balloon. If dad makes
1:39:02 contact at least one time, he wins. If
1:39:05 Ben gets or if Ben doesn't get hit at
1:39:07 all, he wins. The loser is going to get
1:39:11 HIT WITH A WATER BALLOON FIRING SQUAD
1:39:14 COURTESY OF THE LOCO BEACH COCONUTS
1:39:16 RIGHT THERE.
1:39:19 LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IT'S TIME TO WET
1:39:21 YOUR WHISTLE. ALL RIGHT, GET INTO
1:39:23 POSITION. SO, I'll move you over here.
1:39:25 Okay, a little further.
1:39:27 And then you're going to go over there.
1:39:30 All right.
1:39:31 Give me that whistle.
1:39:35 All right, we can do better. Get a
1:39:36 little closer. Get a little closer.
1:39:38 Right there.
1:39:40 WHISTLE.
1:39:42 OH, HEY, DON'T HIT ME. DON'T HIT ME. GET
1:39:44 GET LEAVE YOUR CLOSET.
1:39:46 WHISTLE.
1:39:50 OH! [screaming]
1:39:51 HE MISSED. HE MISSED THAT. I got some
1:39:53 bad news for you. Come on over here.
1:39:56 Let's get going. Right to the left right
1:39:58 there.
1:40:01 Yeah, we got bad news for you, good sir.
1:40:04 ALL RIGHT, BOYS. WET HIS WHISTLE. GO.
1:40:06 GO. GO.
1:40:08 >> [screaming]
1:40:08 >> OH MY GOSH. OH MY GOSH.
1:40:11 WHAT IS HAPPENING?
1:40:16 There we go.
1:40:18 Everyone give it up for Eric and Ben.
1:40:23 >> Oh, no. He's getting the autographs on
1:40:24 the back of his jersey all wet, but
1:40:26 we've got a treat during this half
1:40:28 inning. Travis Wood
1:40:31 joined us down on the field Mike Duck
1:40:33 with a four-run cushion. Where am I
1:40:35 looking?
1:40:36 >> TRAV. WHERE ARE YOU, TRAV?
1:40:38 >> OH, I see you. I can't hear you. You cut
1:40:41 out.
1:40:42 >> We I can hear you.
1:40:45 Can you hear me?
1:40:47 >> You cut out.
1:40:50 >> All right, Trav. We're we're just going
1:40:51 to talk to you.
1:40:52 >> I'm just going to keep talking. I don't
1:40:53 know if you all can hear me, but Tanner
1:40:55 Allen is really He's living up to this
1:40:57 coconut beach life thing. Look at his
1:40:59 shirt. Look at this.
1:41:00 Yesterday he had Oh, we haven't had a
1:41:02 fan all year. This is it.
1:41:12 Look at this.
1:41:13 >> Travis.
1:41:18 What you know?
1:41:19 >> Oh, can't hear you.
1:41:20 >> It's very loud down there on the field.
1:41:22 >> I think it's too loud here. It's cutting
1:41:24 in. Oh,
1:41:25 here we go. Here's a new one.
1:41:29 Kind of cool.
1:41:31 Kind of cool. Kind of not nice. I can I
1:41:33 see you giving me a thumbs up, but I
1:41:34 can't hear you.
1:41:36 >> I can hear you. I just wish you could
1:41:38 hear me. THAT WAS GREAT. THAT WAS GREAT.
1:41:41 >> I see you going like this and this and
1:41:43 this. [laughter]
1:41:44 I don't know, dude. I'm having a good
1:41:45 time down here though. You have
1:41:46 something to throw up. Hold on. Let me
1:41:47 do a hustle play real quick for my guys.
1:41:50 I got here.
1:41:54 >> Good hustle play holds the runner at
1:41:56 first. That was fun. We just had him
1:41:58 miked up for one of the cooler trick
1:41:59 plays on scene. It was like a hand hack,
1:42:01 he said.
1:42:02 >> Yeah, I love that a lot. And then Eric
1:42:04 threw it to
1:42:05 >> Jimmy Lewis now on the mound. Oh my
1:42:06 gosh. Travis has 5 million chains on.
1:42:09 >> Brett lost his
1:42:11 >> Travis Manion.
1:42:14 Is he just going to continue saying my
1:42:15 name?
1:42:17 This is like the greatest who's on first
1:42:18 bit of all time.
1:42:19 >> Yeah.
1:42:21 >> We need
1:42:22 >> It's Ashby Vining with a good walk-up.
1:42:25 Two at bats to go. [music] He's going to
1:42:26 be
1:42:27 one of the faces of the Coconut. It's
1:42:28 good, dude.
1:42:30 Father soon-to-be. Just overall a really
1:42:32 good really good banana ball guy. It's a
1:42:35 pleasure to have him here.
1:42:37 >> See how much feel Travis and I have? He
1:42:39 knows that I'm talking right now even
1:42:41 though he can't hear me.
1:42:44 And Travis is going to start talking
1:42:46 now.
1:42:46 >> Brett, you're in and out, but can you
1:42:47 guys hear me?
1:42:48 >> SEE, I TOLD YOU. TRAVIS AND I ARE SO IN
1:42:51 SYNC.
1:42:52 I CAN HEAR YOU, TRAVIS, but you can't
1:42:55 hear me, presumably. You just keep
1:42:57 talking.
1:42:59 >> Here we go.
1:43:02 A hope.
1:43:04 >> Down in the left field
1:43:06 Travis said it best, one of the faces of
1:43:08 the Nanners B. Ashby Vining has a
1:43:11 stand-up double and it scores Jordan
1:43:15 Brewer on his feet. Ashby Vining
1:43:18 continue that hit streak.
1:43:21 >> Hey, I just heard Brett just told me you
1:43:23 got a hit streak going.
1:43:25 How's it feel?
1:43:26 >> GOOD, GOOD. AND I WAS I KNOW AJ'S UP
1:43:28 THERE GOING
1:43:30 >> THAT WAS AJ, BY THE WAY, TRAVIS. Just
1:43:32 putting that out there. We love AJ.
1:43:34 >> Brett, I heard you for a second. I heard
1:43:36 the hit streak part.
1:43:37 >> Maybe he can only hear me. Can you hear
1:43:38 me, Travis?
1:43:40 No, he doesn't like you.
1:43:42 >> Yeah, clearly. He's calling me Brett
1:43:43 Olson.
1:43:43 >> [laughter]
1:43:44 >> Wow.
1:43:45 Wow. Travis loves me. He takes pictures
1:43:48 of me and stuff all the time. He's got
1:43:50 this new camera. Him and his wife,
1:43:51 Sydney have it. It's great stuff.
1:43:54 I wish we could ask him about the
1:43:55 photography.
1:43:56 Travis, just just tell us about what
1:43:58 you're seeing.
1:44:04 >> I can hear a lot of what he's seeing.
1:44:06 >> I can Yes, I can also hear it.
1:44:08 >> Some kiss player down there.
1:44:09 >> hear me? Should I just keep talking?
1:44:17 >> Hussey shielding himself from the sun,
1:44:20 able to catch it with the cowboy hat for
1:44:22 out number two.
1:44:25 >> When I'm standing next to Ashby, I can
1:44:26 hear you guys, but when I walk away from
1:44:28 Ashby
1:44:28 >> Travis, we can hear you. We can hear
1:44:30 you. Just commentate what you're seeing.
1:44:32 >> of the connection, if you know what I'm
1:44:33 saying.
1:44:33 >> Just just talk. Just talk.
1:44:36 >> I think you should just stand by Ashby
1:44:38 more. It's the good vibes.
1:44:43 Hey, what's up with Keegan? Tell me a
1:44:44 fastball's coming.
1:44:46 I know he can't beat me with that.
1:44:48 You know it.
1:44:53 Brett, if you can hear me, I'm going to
1:44:54 tell you a little story. I felt that
1:44:55 ball
1:44:56 that goes foul. Brett, Keegan's at home
1:44:58 plate. He goes, "What do you want?" I
1:44:59 said, "What do you mean?" He goes, "What
1:45:00 do I want? You want a fastball." He
1:45:02 goes, "Here it comes."
1:45:04 >> UH-OH. SCREAMER. LEFT FIELD. DANE
1:45:08 COUGHLIN. [screaming]
1:45:09 HOME RUN.
1:45:12 BLINK AND YOU MIGHT MISS IT. IT'S A BIG
1:45:15 TIME SWING FROM DANE COUGHLIN. WE'RE
1:45:19 GOING LOCO, BABY. A four-nothing inning
1:45:22 all of a sudden is highly testy waters
1:45:25 from the beach.
1:45:31 Catch that way, big man.
1:45:33 Sue!
1:45:35 >> Set up four nothing lead is almost as
1:45:37 insurmountable as you can be.
1:45:39 And three runs down in the bottom half
1:45:41 of this inning, Jimmy Lewis got to
1:45:42 hunker down and just get us out of it
1:45:44 and get the Tailgaters hopefully their
1:45:46 first point.
1:45:48 Coconuts representing the inning tying
1:45:50 run at the dish now, Payton
1:45:51 Sauter-Toney.
1:45:59 Travis has a man of
1:46:00 few words after that home run. Me, too,
1:46:02 Travis. Me, too.
1:46:05 Hey, right here.
1:46:06 Good, Travis. Encouragement, pass it on.
1:46:13 >> If they play at third, behind the back,
1:46:16 oh, it just skips by Mac Danforth.
1:46:18 Sauter-Toney wants two. Good coverage.
1:46:21 THE SLIDE, HE'S ALMOST SAFE. OH, MY!
1:46:25 >> Challenge that. Challenge that.
1:46:27 Challenge that.
1:46:28 >> Looks like a starfish.
1:46:30 >> Yep, and the fan challenge has been
1:46:32 popped. That's a great fan challenge.
1:46:38 Going to come in and take a second look
1:46:39 at that one.
1:46:44 Oh my goodness.
1:46:47 He dodged that tag, but did he come off
1:46:49 the bag is the key question.
1:46:51 He definitely dodged the tag.
1:46:53 >> Hey, Brett.
1:46:54 >> Does he stay on the bag the whole way?
1:46:56 >> Oh my goodness.
1:46:59 That's one of the greatest polluted tags
1:47:02 I've seen in my entire life. Only 21
1:47:04 years old.
1:47:05 I'd go as far to say if I was 100, that
1:47:08 would be the best I've ever seen. What?
1:47:11 >> I would love to see the center field
1:47:13 angle in this.
1:47:14 >> Brett, he's safe.
1:47:16 >> I know, AJ, but we have to look at every
1:47:17 angle of this.
1:47:23 This is going to be our telltale sign.
1:47:25 We got to watch this as slow as we
1:47:26 possibly can.
1:47:28 Didn't get him there.
1:47:30 Doesn't get him there. Got him there.
1:47:33 >> is he on the bag right there though?
1:47:34 That's the key play.
1:47:35 >> off a little bit? Hey, he just told me
1:47:37 he got him. He told me he
1:47:39 >> off the base then he got him on the knee
1:47:40 right there.
1:47:41 >> again for the mic. Hey, say it for the
1:47:43 mic. He said he got him.
1:47:45 He said he got him.
1:47:46 HE SAID HE GOT HIM.
1:47:48 HEY, I got it.
1:47:49 >> Cuz he definitely has him on the knee.
1:47:51 It's If he's on the bag right here.
1:47:54 >> He's out.
1:47:58 >> [cheering]
1:47:58 >> Yeah, he is. And that's probably the
1:48:00 correct call because there wasn't enough
1:48:02 to overturn it.
1:48:04 >> Yes, Travis.
1:48:05 >> I can't hear him.
1:48:09 >> He tells me, "Hey." And then he can't
1:48:11 hear me.
1:48:12 >> All of a sudden the tying runs on second
1:48:13 base.
1:48:15 The gymnastics act and a contortionist
1:48:18 in Peyton Shotton. Yeah.
1:48:20 What an inning.
1:48:23 Nearly 12 minutes in the top of the
1:48:25 frame.
1:48:27 This one's taking its time as well. Now
1:48:29 a 1-1 count for Grady Morgan.
1:48:33 Big hack. Just scraped it backwards.
1:48:38 Travis, I can hear you but I know you
1:48:40 can't hear me.
1:48:40 >> kind of HEAR YOU.
1:48:41 >> OH, WOW.
1:48:42 >> YOU'RE IN AND OUT.
1:48:42 >> WE FINALLY HAVE IT.
1:48:44 >> And then he called me
1:48:46 He called me a dirty dirty mafia member.
1:48:49 >> So I heard.
1:48:49 >> He said I was in the mob.
1:48:52 >> I heard that you were in the mob. You
1:48:53 and I were the mafia on the bus going to
1:48:55 Tallahassee.
1:48:56 >> We won that, too.
1:48:58 >> [laughter]
1:48:58 >> We sure did.
1:49:00 >> [cheering]
1:49:01 >> Wow, Jesse Cole almost got smoked,
1:49:03 Travis.
1:49:04 >> Somebody's got to stand in front of
1:49:04 Haley. She got smoked last night.
1:49:06 >> Yeah.
1:49:07 >> Hannah.
1:49:08 >> Hannah, yep, 100%. Also known as
1:49:09 Hannaconda.
1:49:13 >> Morgan, high into the air. Chance to end
1:49:15 the inning.
1:49:21 >> [cheering]
1:49:22 >> You look better in this outfit.
1:49:26 >> Good hug, Travis.
1:49:28 Love you, Travis Moniot.
1:49:29 >> that?
1:49:30 >> Tailgaters, win their first point of the
1:49:31 afternoon.
1:49:33 >> Thank you. Thank you.
1:49:48 >> Y'all are some of the hardest working
1:49:50 people on the planet doing what you can
1:49:52 to get that bread. And right now I mean
1:49:55 that literally because here on the berm
1:49:57 I got just about every kind of bread you
1:49:58 can imagine. We got slices, we got
1:50:00 rolls, we got buns. And down on the
1:50:03 field we got my buddy Lucas in a toast
1:50:05 costume with a little bread basket.
1:50:08 Here's what we're going to do. When I
1:50:09 say go, we're going to throw this bread
1:50:11 into that basket and see how many he can
1:50:12 catch. But you know what? Let's do one
1:50:14 better. I say we make it a competition.
1:50:16 CJ, who you got over there?
1:50:18 >> Over here on the left center field on
1:50:20 the berm representing OUR SIDE IS OUR
1:50:22 BOY DECLAN. And Declan was telling me
1:50:25 he's a professional bread catcher.
1:50:27 Pretty cool gig if I say so myself.
1:50:29 >> I think he might have a shot. Just
1:50:31 kidding, Lucas is the guy.
1:50:34 Bread ready? Frisco ready? Here we go.
1:50:37 Get that bread in 3, 2, 1, go.
1:50:43 Keep it moving, Lucas.
1:50:46 Go get that Texas toast, brother.
1:50:51 Keep it moving. Keep it moving.
1:50:56 Come on, Lucas. A lot of bread to catch.
1:51:05 >> You're doing good.
1:51:06 >> We got to get that bread in the basket.
1:51:11 Here we go.
1:51:13 The final countdown on the bread in
1:51:15 five, four, three, two, one. Call it
1:51:22 there. Call it there.
1:51:25 Let's get our final count, CJ. How many
1:51:27 did you guys catch over there?
1:51:29 >> Technically did pretty good. I believe
1:51:31 we got about 11.
1:51:33 11 over here.
1:51:36 >> Well, that's bad news for you, CJ,
1:51:39 because over here my buddy Lucas caught
1:51:42 13 pieces of bread. And he is the winner
1:51:46 of Texas Toast.
1:51:55 >> Save the sound the bees, the lawyers.
1:51:58 >> He wears number 17.
1:52:01 His name is Bad Benny.
1:52:05 He can break dance. He can do a back
1:52:07 flip.
1:52:09 And that's just a piece of what we'll be
1:52:11 seeing all in it. Uh-oh. On the trick
1:52:13 pitch, this one's going to stay in the
1:52:15 yard.
1:52:16 Antle
1:52:17 secures it with two hands. Now Bad Benny
1:52:20 do a one pitch out. That was
1:52:22 interesting, Gideon. He's been working
1:52:23 on the tip drill for a while with the
1:52:25 trick play battle at six to four. Time
1:52:27 dwindling down. Again, six to four
1:52:29 Tailgaters lead that. It's important,
1:52:31 man, that the Coconut trying to negate
1:52:33 that equalizer.
1:52:35 It is cuz that all of a sudden it's a
1:52:36 one point game.
1:52:40 Wanted to help Benny out.
1:52:42 Another first pitch swing. Indiana
1:52:44 Stanley who started that big time sixth
1:52:46 inning
1:52:47 with the steal of first base. Now in an
1:52:50 0-1 spot after the long strike, it's a
1:52:52 two hopper to shot.
1:52:54 ONE TRICK PLAY. [screaming]
1:52:56 YES. Jordan Brewer lands on the bag just
1:52:59 in time for out number two. And Peyton
1:53:01 Shotwell gaze like you're tall.
1:53:03 I was aiming for the dart board, but
1:53:05 even when you're throwing to a 6-6 first
1:53:07 baseman, that's a little high.
1:53:09 What a catch. Wow.
1:53:12 >> I didn't know if he got him on the tie
1:53:13 or the bag. I knew one of the two.
1:53:15 That's an incredible play by Bruin. We
1:53:16 mentioned trick plays. Now 6-5,
1:53:18 Tailgaters still leading.
1:53:21 >> That one's going to come down to the
1:53:22 wire.
1:53:24 Blake Benson's working quickly.
1:53:32 Jason Art
1:53:33 Hard hit.
1:53:34 Left center field. Running out of real
1:53:37 estate and one hops the wall. Tanner
1:53:39 Allen's there, but it's a stand-up
1:53:42 double.
1:53:43 >> On a ball that just splashed in the
1:53:46 alley.
1:53:47 Man, if it's like 10° warmer here, that
1:53:50 ball's sitting out there on the berm.
1:53:52 Mind you, live with my second double of
1:53:54 the afternoon. Jason Art's been on fire.
1:53:57 Now the Texas kid, man. Big spot for
1:53:59 Fiber here. 0-2 today and a chance to
1:54:02 put another run on the board here for
1:54:04 the Tailgaters.
1:54:06 That he could hopefully lead to a point
1:54:08 and then with that equalizer hanging in
1:54:10 the balance, I mean we're talking about
1:54:11 a 3-3 ballgame potentially going
1:54:12 tonight. This is how big this AB is.
1:54:15 >> Couple good spinners from Blake Benson.
1:54:17 That's a foul ball.
1:54:19 Hit him off the front shin.
1:54:22 And now, this is a prime opportunity
1:54:24 Brett Wallace. We haven't seen it in the
1:54:26 series yet, but a reminder to those
1:54:28 watching at home. A trick pitch that
1:54:31 incurs strike three does count as a
1:54:32 trick play. And this is a trick pitcher
1:54:34 on the mound.
1:54:36 >> I mean, Benny, if I'm him, I'm
1:54:37 definitely going for break dance pitch
1:54:39 here. Absolutely, 10 times out of 10.
1:54:43 Oh, he's going to do it.
1:54:45 >> He's feeling it.
1:54:47 Yeah. Oh, boy.
1:54:48 Back flip. Quickly takes the rubber.
1:54:52 Just missed inside. Wouldn't that be
1:54:54 something?
1:54:54 >> I'd do it again. I think he should do it
1:54:56 again.
1:54:58 >> This is cooler.
1:55:00 Handstand. Take the rubber.
1:55:03 Uh-oh, but it's well struck. Ben
1:55:04 Parker's out there and that'll do it for
1:55:07 the top [music] of the seventh inning.
1:55:09 Blake Benson
1:55:10 keeps them at bay. Tailgaters off the
1:55:13 board and
1:55:14 >> If that's the Blake Benson we're going
1:55:16 to see this season, that's quickly one
1:55:18 of my favorite pitchers in the sport.
1:55:19 >> Yeah, Benny man, he's electric. And a
1:55:22 guy last year had a 3.18 ERA with the
1:55:24 Party Animals. He was really, really
1:55:26 solid last year.
1:55:27 And now the Tailgaters quickly back out
1:55:29 there on the bottom.
1:55:31 >> [cheering]
1:55:32 >> Trying to speed it up. A guy that I
1:55:34 absolutely love though, Jonathan
1:55:36 Sunshine Louderback, who has played all
1:55:39 seven positions behind the pitcher
1:55:41 today. Diving grab at second there in
1:55:44 the second inning. Excuse me, at first
1:55:46 able to catch it. Third base in the
1:55:48 third inning. Shortstop. Left field.
1:55:51 Center field. And we're now playing the
1:55:52 bottom half of the seventh out in right
1:55:54 field.
1:55:55 >> [cheering]
1:55:56 >> All seven positions behind the pitcher.
1:55:58 I would say, where else would you rather
1:56:00 see this?
1:56:01 You would see it in an edible. KJ played
1:56:03 all nine or all seven positions behind
1:56:05 the pitcher last year. Danny Hasley once
1:56:06 played all nine positions in an inning.
1:56:09 And happy birthday.
1:56:10 Not to Sunshine, but
1:56:12 that young person in the crowd.
1:56:16 Man, I love Sunshine.
1:56:18 >> Honestly, same.
1:56:20 Just such a good individual. We had a
1:56:21 great talk last night. They have a
1:56:23 chance in right field here. Looks like
1:56:25 it's falling more up in center, however,
1:56:27 and Indiana Stanley pops it up to
1:56:29 himself for a trick play and a big one.
1:56:31 >> That is great situational awareness.
1:56:33 Indiana Stanley, who is known for the
1:56:35 backflip catches, knowing right here,
1:56:38 right now, in this very moment, you lead
1:56:40 only by one trick play, able to extend
1:56:42 that back out to two.
1:56:45 If you can stack trick plays in this
1:56:46 inning as much as possible with Joe
1:56:48 Sparone, Broomall, Pennsylvania's finest
1:56:50 on the mound, that is what you're
1:56:51 shooting for.
1:56:53 >> Baldwin
1:56:54 scrapes the sky.
1:56:57 Matt Danford underneath it. Does it the
1:56:59 simple way and you know you'd like to
1:57:01 see a tip at the same time. He was
1:57:03 moving in on that one. That's good
1:57:05 situational awareness to not go for the
1:57:07 >> Straight field for Mac. You see wanted
1:57:08 to go for the tip but he realized it's
1:57:10 very important for two reasons. One you
1:57:12 got to get that out number two because
1:57:13 lineup card flips over for Ben Parker
1:57:15 but two, not that we're in dire straits
1:57:18 with the clock right now but it's
1:57:19 getting close.
1:57:20 >> Well struck ball into left center field.
1:57:22 Ben Parker continues to see what
1:57:25 watermelons instead of an animal balls
1:57:26 at the plate. Walk-off runs aboard and
1:57:29 who else would you want up right now but
1:57:31 Tanner Allen? He's already gone yard to
1:57:33 the pull side of this one hitting off
1:57:35 the fountain in right. One here would
1:57:37 make it a 4-1 Coconut Slush.
1:57:41 Got the Oakley's on, the shirt off
1:57:46 and football pads on the bottom now.
1:57:49 Quite the look TA.
1:57:54 >> He also has his spikes
1:57:57 with those spats on the bottom of them
1:57:58 like the football players where wrapped
1:58:00 up in all that tape.
1:58:04 >> Been doing that since his high school
1:58:05 days. Was a quarterback.
1:58:08 Now here it's a line drive that gets
1:58:09 through the middle. Jordan Hussein CAN'T
1:58:11 CORRAL IT. BEN PARKER'S OFF TO THE
1:58:13 RACES. IT'S A DOUBLE. PARKER ROUNDED
1:58:16 THIRD. THE RELAY NOT IN TIME.
1:58:20 LOCO BEACH HAS A FOURTH POINT on a
1:58:24 world's [ __ ] double
1:58:26 from Tanner Allen. He's having himself
1:58:29 an afternoon. Happy Sunday. Tanner Allen
1:58:35 blew it by Hussein.
1:58:37 Continued to roll its way out and when
1:58:39 Ben Parker's on the bases he's always
1:58:41 got a nose for home plate.
1:58:42 >> Yeah man, he's a speedster. I mean Ben
1:58:45 just continues to score a bunch of runs
1:58:47 today and he's going and going and
1:58:49 going. 4-1 man, Coconuts in charge.
1:59:24 >> [cheering]
1:59:32 [screaming]
1:59:34 [cheering]
1:59:42 [cheering]
1:59:49 [cheering]
2:00:04 >> Short Brewer, CJ Williams. He comes out
2:00:08 of the eighth inning. See if they want
2:00:10 to extend him for a couple here. The
2:00:12 team's closer allowed his first earned
2:00:14 run in
2:00:15 the history of his Banana Ball playing
2:00:17 career last night, but this is what you
2:00:19 expect from CJ. Oh, no.
2:00:23 Couldn't get the out.
2:00:26 It's Jordan Brewer. Yeah, he wants him
2:00:27 to challenge it.
2:00:30 I I say it's worth the challenge.
2:00:32 >> Rocco trusts his guys. Let's see this.
2:00:33 It's bobbled.
2:00:35 >> Ooh, that's tight, man. I want to see
2:00:37 another angle of that.
2:00:41 So, it's when Brewer puts the glove, but
2:00:44 then his hand comes up.
2:00:46 We can slow that down. That's going to
2:00:47 tell us right here.
2:00:49 His hand is on the ball way before
2:00:51 Moon's foot hits.
2:00:53 >> I I I think he's out. I think he's out,
2:00:55 AJ. Unfortunately, I think he's out.
2:00:57 >> Because you see the glove going on top,
2:00:59 but his hand comes under it. So, when
2:01:01 does his hand have full possession of
2:01:03 the banana ball? It looks like he does
2:01:05 still about half a step before Moon
2:01:07 touches first base.
2:01:08 >> Either way, that is a huge way to help
2:01:10 your pitcher out. CJ Williams last night
2:01:13 got two quick outs.
2:01:15 >> The rest is history. Kyle Bart one of
2:01:16 the most exciting home runs I've ever
2:01:18 seen. Comes out today.
2:01:25 >> [screaming]
2:01:26 >> And now Jordan Brewer is able to help
2:01:28 him out. That is a great play over at
2:01:30 first.
2:01:31 >> Folks here in Texas booing.
2:01:33 How about that? I love the passion with
2:01:36 these Tailgater fans.
2:01:38 But as the voice of your team that I
2:01:40 love so much, unfortunately, that is
2:01:42 very much of the correct call.
2:01:46 >> To the Batman, CJ Williams
2:01:49 gets his first out in about the most
2:01:51 unorthodox 1-3 putout you'll see.
2:01:54 And it's right back to him again.
2:01:56 This time he doesn't struggle to corral
2:01:58 it. 1-3. Jordan Brewer caught that on
2:02:01 the back of the glove. That's a trick
2:02:02 play.
2:02:07 Get another look at it.
2:02:09 Jake Skole made that popular.
2:02:11 >> Underhand toss, though. That'll be
2:02:12 interesting to see if it's officially
2:02:13 ruled a trick play or not. Usually,
2:02:15 those are only ruled trick plays in the
2:02:16 air as a fly ball or as a hard throw
2:02:19 defined as an overhand throw. That was
2:02:20 an underhand throw right there. We'll
2:02:22 check with our official scorer because
2:02:23 that is big. That would put it at 7-5
2:02:25 Tailgaters or 7-6 if that trick play
2:02:27 counts.
2:02:31 >> Dane Topflin between the legs. JORDAN
2:02:33 BREWER UNDERNEATH HIM.
2:02:36 DOUBLE TRICK PLAY.
2:02:38 DOESN'T MATTER IF THAT LAST ONE COUNTED
2:02:40 OR not cuz that's A DOUBLE TRICK PLAY.
2:02:42 NEGATES THE EQUALIZER POINT, AND THE
2:02:44 LOCO BEACH COCONUTS WIN THE TRICK PLAY
2:02:47 BATTLE FOR NOW.
2:02:51 Up eight to seven, I believe, in the
2:02:53 trick play battle, and the Tailgaters
2:02:55 now have three outs to make that up and
2:02:58 see if they can win back to equalize.
2:03:01 >> Jordan Brewer is so much fun to watch
2:03:04 play first base. We just saw him
2:03:06 grab a ball bare-handed, and then do
2:03:09 that acrobatic move to convert on Dane
2:03:12 Toplin's double trick play.
2:03:15 Let's take a look at what trick plays
2:03:16 have gotten us to this moment.
2:03:21 Started with Loco Beach. Starter Krem on
2:03:23 the mound, Dalton Baldwin, showing his
2:03:25 prowess at second, but Texas had some
2:03:27 answers of their own. We do have an
2:03:29 official answer. It's an 8-7 trick play
2:03:31 advantage for Loco Beach as it stands.
2:03:34 Gives us a chance to go over the
2:03:35 equalizer point. Big-time half inning
2:03:38 here for Texas.
2:03:41 Because if the ducks fall in a row here,
2:03:44 they keep the Coconuts at bay and off
2:03:46 the board, and you pick up two trick
2:03:48 plays or more to get that advantage,
2:03:50 it's a 4-2 ballgame with the equalizer
2:03:53 point in their favor.
2:03:54 >> And officially, just to clarify, that
2:03:56 was not a trick play on the underhand
2:03:58 toss from C.J. Williams, where Brewer
2:04:00 pinned it on the glove. That is still
2:04:02 correct, though. It is 8-7. It was 7-6,
2:04:05 and now it is 8-7. So, looking at that
2:04:08 trick play, no, pardon me. It should be
2:04:10 7-7 trick plays, because it was 7-5,
2:04:13 then we had the double trick play there.
2:04:15 So, trick play battle, fully clarified
2:04:17 here. We're We're clarifying with our
2:04:18 official scores. It is 7-7 in the
2:04:21 official trick play battle. So, the
2:04:22 Tailgaters need just one trick play to
2:04:24 win the equalizer point here in the
2:04:26 bottom of the eighth inning. That's
2:04:28 huge, because you wanted to send it 4-2
2:04:31 going to the ninth. Loco Beach still has
2:04:32 a chance to walk off this inning. I
2:04:35 guess it's a brand new arm to the
2:04:36 Tailgaters and to be edible. He's a
2:04:38 rookie. He just joined the team about 2
2:04:40 weeks ago and his name is Matthew
2:04:43 Fletcher. Love this guy. He has been a
2:04:45 very big ad to the clubhouse from
2:04:49 Westerfield, Connecticut. Played at
2:04:51 LaSalle University, a Division III
2:04:52 school. Last year had a 79 strikeout to
2:04:55 nine walk K to strikeout ratio, excuse
2:04:59 me, K to walk ratio.
2:05:01 We've got Jordan Brewer, Mike Trout at
2:05:03 the plate right now.
2:05:04 >> What's up, boys?
2:05:08 >> Oh, yeah. Well-struck ball. LEFT FIELD,
2:05:11 THAT'S OVER HIM.
2:05:12 >> GET OFF YOUR HORSE, JORDAN. I'M HERE.
2:05:14 I'M HERE.
2:05:15 >> HUH?
2:05:16 HOW'S IT FEEL?
2:05:17 >> OH, it feels great, fellas.
2:05:18 Feels great.
2:05:19 >> Good piece of hitting.
2:05:20 >> Hey, thank you. I finally hit one.
2:05:23 I mean, you can.
2:05:24 Hey, say hi to the boys.
2:05:26 Say hi to the boys.
2:05:28 What's up there, Timmy?
2:05:29 Yeah.
2:05:31 >> Is that what we call dad power?
2:05:33 >> Hey. Dad power that goes over the fence,
2:05:35 fellas.
2:05:37 >> Well-struck ball has the inning-winning
2:05:39 run at second. VINING DOES THE SAME AND
2:05:43 THAT IS A HUGE HIT.
2:05:45 NO EQUALIZER POINT FOR TEXAS. INSTEAD,
2:05:49 IT'S A WALK-OFF.
2:05:50 ASHBY VINING BRINGS IN JORDAN BREWER,
2:05:53 JB.
2:05:54 >> LET'S GO, BOYS.
2:05:55 >> IT'S A 5-1 LEAD.
2:05:56 >> HEY.
2:05:57 THERE WE GO.
2:05:58 There we go.
2:06:00 Hey.
2:06:01 Hey.
2:06:04 Yep.
2:06:05 Oh.
2:06:07 >> Multi-hit game for Ashby Vining. Jordan
2:06:10 Brewer on the mic ropes a double and
2:06:13 this game has been nothing, and I mean
2:06:16 nothing, but going loco from the beach.
2:06:20 >> Ashby Vining told me on the plane the
2:06:23 other day
2:06:24 that he was not looking forward to being
2:06:25 the home team. I said, "Ashby, it is the
2:06:27 most advantageous thing in all of
2:06:29 Buttermilk." He's like, "With the
2:06:30 equalizer point." I said, "I don't I
2:06:32 love the equalizer point. It's still not
2:06:34 equal. Being the home team in Banana
2:06:36 Ball is so much more advantageous. And
2:06:38 from the third inning on, besides the
2:06:40 sixth,
2:06:41 the Local Beach Coconut have proven why.
2:06:43 And Asby hitting that walk-off double
2:06:44 there,
2:06:45 it's just again, when you're able to
2:06:47 walk off every single inning, possibly
2:06:49 every single inning, the Coconut have
2:06:51 proven that. Now, here in the night
2:06:53 against CJ Williams, a man who gave up
2:06:55 the game-tying home run in the night
2:06:57 last night,
2:06:59 the Tailgaters have a much larger
2:07:01 deficit to come back from. Just one
2:07:03 point last night, right now down five
2:07:05 points to one.
2:07:07 What an eighth inning though from Jordan
2:07:09 Brewer. Let's go back to that, right?
2:07:11 Jordan Brewer secures the double trick
2:07:13 play on the end of that 5-3. Tied the
2:07:15 trick play battle at seven. And then the
2:07:17 Coconut don't even give the Tailgaters a
2:07:19 defensive opportunity to record a trick
2:07:21 play.
2:07:22 Walk off the inning. That's a two-point
2:07:25 swing right there by the boys in teal
2:07:27 and orange. And now, they very much so
2:07:29 have in their hands a golden opportunity
2:07:32 to move back over .500.
2:07:34 >> Jordan Brewer really just did it himself
2:07:36 in that inning. I'm glad you touched on
2:07:38 that, but because if he doesn't go
2:07:39 between the lights at first, Texas gets
2:07:42 the equalizer point. And then,
2:07:44 if that ball he strikes is hit to
2:07:46 somebody, Texas can again get the
2:07:48 equalizer point. So, it's a two-point
2:07:49 swing.
2:07:51 Brewer now shirtless at first base. He's
2:07:53 feeling himself. Coconut three outs away
2:07:58 from moving to two and one. Fans have a
2:08:00 chance.
2:08:02 Ticketed for the seats, however, that
2:08:03 one finds a back.
2:08:07 Long strike.
2:08:08 As Kmart down 0-1. This is the match up
2:08:10 from a night ago. CJ Williams has been
2:08:12 itching to have another chance AGAINST
2:08:14 KYLE MARTIN. WHAT A PLAY at first base
2:08:17 from the ninja umpire. Seth Markum just
2:08:20 did that bare-handed. Is that a Jordan
2:08:21 Brewer impression?
2:08:23 >> I guess.
2:08:26 That was something crazy, man.
2:08:28 Seth Markham used to play a little ball
2:08:29 back in his day.
2:08:32 >> One-two count.
2:08:34 Nobody away.
2:08:37 Did Martin just do it again? No. THIS
2:08:39 ONE'S STALLED OUT just in front of the
2:08:41 track. Running out of room. It's in our
2:08:43 blind spot and it's foul.
2:08:46 >> Gideon gave it a really good chase over
2:08:48 there in front of the fence.
2:08:52 Ooh. Did that catch him in the chest?
2:08:55 Think he kind of lost it as he
2:08:57 transformed over there into the shadows.
2:08:59 Never want to see that. That was not an
2:09:01 out. Still not out here in the top of
2:09:02 the ninth.
2:09:06 >> We'll try the one-two again.
2:09:08 T.J. Williams.
2:09:10 >> He's thrown away. I'll tell you, the
2:09:12 ball just makes a different noise off
2:09:13 Kyle Martin's bat. They all feel like
2:09:15 they could leave the yard cuz it just it
2:09:17 rings and echoes.
2:09:20 The two-two.
2:09:21 This is away. It's a full count for T.J.
2:09:24 And it is a five-to-one ballgame.
2:09:26 Here in the top of the ninth inning.
2:09:28 Full count to Kyle Martin.
2:09:31 Pitch misses low.
2:09:34 No reason to try to extend to second,
2:09:36 but he's going to anyways. The ball gets
2:09:38 into the outfield. That is why you
2:09:39 extend. Now he's headed to third.
2:09:44 Everyone touches the banana ball.
2:09:46 But Kyle Martin was able to work his way
2:09:49 back from down in the count
2:09:51 to over to third base on a ball four
2:09:53 sprint.
2:09:54 >> Well, if that sixth inning taught us
2:09:55 anything when the Tailgaters put four
2:09:57 up, even if you're up by four points,
2:09:59 four runs, [music] whatever,
2:10:01 in the ninth inning where every run
2:10:02 counts as a point,
2:10:04 you still got a shot.
2:10:07 Boys got to be on their P's and Q's
2:10:08 here.
2:10:13 >> Back Danford.
2:10:16 Watches another one miss. That time
2:10:18 upstairs in the elevator shaft. Two-oh.
2:10:35 Good location. CJ Williams makes it a
2:10:37 3-1 count.
2:10:43 What is the second straight ball for
2:10:45 Sprint?
2:10:47 Kyle Martin scores.
2:10:49 Back down third to first. It's a 5-2
2:10:51 Loco Beach lead.
2:10:54 So now with Jose Brother Gonzales, Taj
2:10:56 Porter, and Indiana Stanley,
2:10:58 you'd have to think
2:11:01 if Brother gets on right here,
2:11:04 the golden batter is going to come into
2:11:06 play at some point
2:11:07 for the Tailgaters because right now
2:11:09 Taj, who stands on deck, represents the
2:11:11 game-tying point.
2:11:13 Still not out here in the end.
2:11:17 I'd also like to point out that you'd
2:11:19 have Think first of all, I wish I could
2:11:21 play banana ball growing up, but the
2:11:22 sport wasn't around. So I grew up
2:11:24 playing baseball. And this is the
2:11:27 situation.
2:11:29 It's sent high into the air.
2:11:31 Into the blue sky. Dean Torkelson
2:11:33 helps his pitcher out for out number
2:11:34 one.
2:11:35 I was going to say this is a situation
2:11:38 in traditional baseball where you would
2:11:39 go out there and talk to the guy on the
2:11:41 mound. You know, you've got the lead,
2:11:42 just settle in, but CJ Williams is on an
2:11:45 island. He's alone out there and just
2:11:47 has to battle with his emotions. Giddy
2:11:49 and tail. I don't know if he's cramping
2:11:51 or was on that play over there at the
2:11:53 wall. He is coming off of the field. JD
2:11:55 Urso just entered the ball game to play
2:11:57 right field for the Coconuts. As Taj
2:12:00 Porter steps up to the dish. Hope
2:12:01 everything's okay with Giddy. Oh,
2:12:03 goodness.
2:12:04 That's something to keep an eye on. He's
2:12:05 been electrifying early in his Coconuts
2:12:08 career.
2:12:10 A fly ball. Urso's going to get tested.
2:12:13 Let's see if he was staying hot on the
2:12:14 bench.
2:12:15 No, Pumps calls him off.
2:12:18 That's great situational awareness by
2:12:20 Ben Parker, a guy who just came out
2:12:22 there dealing with the sun. And now AJ
2:12:24 Swiatek, your boys
2:12:27 one more out to get, and they bring on
2:12:29 Zachary Smith.
2:12:39 Couple of warm-up pitches all he needs.
2:12:42 Smith, homecoming game.
2:12:45 ACU product.
2:12:53 But he's going to have to deal with the
2:12:54 golden robe.
2:13:07 >> The Texas Tailgaters are invoking the
2:13:10 golden batter rule. Now batting in place
2:13:14 of Indie Stanley is the Tailgaters
2:13:16 golden batter, Kyle
2:13:19 K-Mart Martin.
2:13:21 >> In this same spot in the lineup a night
2:13:24 ago
2:13:25 Kyle Martin
2:13:27 hit a game-tying home run as the golden
2:13:30 batter right here. Can't tie it up, but
2:13:32 can bring us within a point if he sends
2:13:34 one over the wall.
2:13:36 So far today, K-Mart
2:13:38 not a hit, but two ball four sprints.
2:13:51 Smith's first pitch to him This is a
2:13:53 hair outside.
2:13:55 Electrifying a night ago
2:13:58 Kyle Martin
2:14:00 very mature approach, patience in the
2:14:03 box.
2:14:05 I had 3-0 in the count.
2:14:18 >> Ball four sprint.
2:14:22 All seven defenders behind Zach Smith
2:14:25 have to touch that banana ball. They do,
2:14:27 and the tying run's going to come to the
2:14:29 plate now.
2:14:30 Right when all hope seemed lost,
2:14:33 this is a big, big, big time walk.
2:14:36 >> And there's nobody else you'd want
2:14:37 today. Jason Hart has been the best
2:14:40 hitter today for the Tailgaters. A
2:14:41 couple of doubles
2:14:43 on his ledger, including an RBI double.
2:14:48 >> Quickly ahead 2-0 in the count.
2:14:52 Zach Smith
2:14:54 trying to close out the game. Hart
2:14:56 nearly able to get it pulled side again,
2:14:58 pulled it just foul.
2:15:03 Righty on righty.
2:15:06 Smith kicks the dust up.
2:15:10 Three balls and a strike.
2:15:12 It's another ball four sprint.
2:15:15 Fourth of the inning.
2:15:19 Run comes in to score. Kyle Martin moves
2:15:21 over to third.
2:15:23 Now a two-run night for Texas, who has
2:15:27 the go-ahead run coming up to the plate
2:15:30 in Jordan Hussein.
2:15:32 >> If you'd have told me entering this
2:15:33 inning we'd have the game-tying run on
2:15:35 first, I'd been okay with that. Putting
2:15:38 the Putting the bat in the hand of your
2:15:39 captain.
2:15:42 >> Good job to get ahead from Zach Smith.
2:15:49 LINE DRIVE, TOFLING'S GOT IT, AND THAT'S
2:15:51 A LOCO BEACH WIN.
2:15:56 Let's go Loco, BABY. THEY'RE RIDING THE
2:15:59 WAVE ALL THE WAY to the luau. And in the
2:16:02 team's first ever home game,
2:16:05 how more poetic could it be than to
2:16:08 close things out victorious? Your final
2:16:11 score, Logo Beach Coconut's five, Texas
2:16:15 Tailgaters three, and it's time to hit
2:16:18 the celebratory dance.
2:16:36 >> [cheering]
2:16:45 >> And how about
2:16:46 your Texas Tailgaters as well over here?
2:16:49 >> [cheering]
2:16:51 >> Oh gosh, there's a pool party to get to
2:16:53 in right
2:16:57 Everyone wants in.
2:17:01 >> Fans, thank you so much for the amazing
2:17:03 amazing atmosphere, electricity you
2:17:05 brought today. We absolutely love being
2:17:07 here and impressed
2:17:08 >> Wow, are they all GOING TO JUMP IN? OH,
2:17:11 THERE GOES ONE.
2:17:14 Brett Carson won the race.
2:17:17 Some of the guys are stripping down.
2:17:19 Some of them ARE JUST HOPPING ON IN.
2:17:22 WELCOME TO TWO AND ONE. Feels pretty
2:17:25 good. And what better way to celebrate
2:17:28 than in a lazy river in right field?
2:17:32 We've got Brett Castillo down to talk
2:17:34 with our show man of the game.
2:17:36 >> Home run, a triple. They found barrels
2:17:38 here at Logo Beach and they found
2:17:40 themselves a big time win. Tanner, how
2:17:42 does it feel to get the home win to end
2:17:44 this week?
2:17:44 >> Oh man, you know, last time we lost a
2:17:45 heartbreaker. But it says a lot about
2:17:47 our team coming out to play with same
2:17:48 energy, playing hard, pitchers filled up
2:17:50 the zone, guys we found some barrels,
2:17:51 moved runners. Few big swings and uh we
2:17:53 got a big night win. How about that?
2:17:55 >> And also, vibes were high in the
2:17:57 beginning. It was a little rough at the
2:17:58 end. What does it say about this team's
2:17:59 fight to keep the vibes high?
2:18:00 >> Hey, the game is all about ups and
2:18:01 downs, ups and downs. You got to do your
2:18:03 best to stay even keel. Always say never
2:18:04 too high, never too low. Level-headed,
2:18:06 playing the same game all the time,
2:18:07 baby. That's what we did today.
2:18:08 >> And we had a question from Banana Ball
2:18:09 backstage. 14-year-old Mimi wants to
2:18:11 know, what is your favorite park that
2:18:12 you've ever played in?
2:18:13 >> What um favorite park I've ever played
2:18:14 in?
2:18:15 Guys,
2:18:16 I believe Maroon and White. Dude, in a
2:18:18 perfect world, no question.
2:18:19 >> And and another question for you. You're
2:18:21 having all this fun here. All the vibes
2:18:23 are high. You're representing this brand
2:18:25 all across. What's it like to spread the
2:18:26 vibes wherever you go, especially with
2:18:27 this squad?
2:18:28 >> Oh, that's what we do. Beach to you.
2:18:29 Spread the
2:18:30 >> Breakers is going on a tour all around
2:18:31 America. We can't wait to see you there.
2:18:33 >> We got to keep you here, man. You
2:18:34 believe Maroon and White. You have some
2:18:36 dogs in here. What's it like to do it
2:18:37 with some fellow SEC guys here in the
2:18:38 booth?
2:18:38 >> There there's nothing compared to the
2:18:40 Maroon and White. And it's a true honor.
2:18:42 It almost makes a tear come to my eye
2:18:43 seeing the Maroon and White in the
2:18:44 stands. Maybe here in Cal Bell too, so
2:18:45 that's really, really cool.
2:18:46 >> And look, Cal Bell's high vibes and even
2:18:48 barrels for this guy. A triple and a
2:18:49 home run. Heck of a game, Tanner.
2:18:51 Congratulations.
2:18:52 >> Sir, Roll Noles.
2:18:52 >> Hey, Roll Noles. Guys, back to you.
2:18:57 >> Roll Noles, baby. They earned the trip
2:19:00 to the lazy river. Tanner Allen, showman
2:19:03 of the game for good reason.
2:19:08 Tanner Allen, dude. That's my guy. It's
2:19:10 my absolute guy. I
2:19:12 I I've told the story a few times. Star
2:19:14 from Mississippi last year.
2:19:16 Sent Tanner Allen a DM. Asked him if he
2:19:19 just wants to be on the broadcast
2:19:20 because he's one of the greatest players
2:19:22 in the history of Mississippi State. He
2:19:23 said, "SURE, WHY NOT?" Comes in the
2:19:25 booth with Drake Toll and myself. After
2:19:27 that, I said, "Man, you you still you
2:19:29 can still play a little ball, huh?" He
2:19:31 said, "I think so. What's that Banana
2:19:33 Ball thing all about? I I think I might
2:19:35 be interested." It's funny. We were
2:19:36 talking about this this morning. He
2:19:37 said, "I think I might be interested,
2:19:38 but I don't know." Sends Berry Aldridge
2:19:40 a text. Goes to Trout in LA and dressed
2:19:43 up as Elvis Presley. And then today, TA,
2:19:45 man. And we talked about it in the
2:19:46 pregame show, AJ.
2:19:48 When you got a guy that's as good as
2:19:50 Tanner Allen, he's going to catch up.
2:19:52 Jessica Cole, what do you got for us?
2:19:55 >> Jesse, an incredible showing here for
2:19:57 two for one of the newer franchises, one
2:19:59 of the younger franchises in the Texas
2:20:00 Tailgaters. What's it like to see them
2:20:02 put on a show like this here in Frisco?
2:20:04 >> Tough for these guys, you know, to be on
2:20:05 the road. We would have three different
2:20:06 shows going on around the country. And
2:20:08 the Texas Tailgaters had to carry this
2:20:10 show. And obviously the Coconuts, you
2:20:12 know, they're here, they don't mess
2:20:13 around. And it's fun to watch them. And
2:20:14 you know, they created a lot of fans
2:20:16 again tonight or today and after last
2:20:18 night with the Tailgaters, it's amazing
2:20:19 to see what's happening with the fan
2:20:21 base. You know, you don't have a a
2:20:22 visiting team win or not their show,
2:20:25 they're in Texas and the crowd goes
2:20:27 absolutely crazy. It's fun to watch.
2:20:29 >> I got a new guy to the game, Tanner
2:20:30 Allen, who had to embrace everything
2:20:32 that Banana Ball was compared to what he
2:20:33 was doing. What's it like to see a guy
2:20:35 like that and so many guys like him
2:20:37 embrace the Banana Ball culture?
2:20:39 >> Well, they're owning it. The guys, you
2:20:40 know, the Coconuts, of course, they're a
2:20:41 lot of them play with their shirts off.
2:20:42 They're just having fun. They're owning
2:20:44 it. And I think that's what's what's
2:20:46 great. I think these guys understand
2:20:47 that the game is meant to have fun. And
2:20:49 when you have fun, you perform better.
2:20:50 And you see that with all these guys.
2:20:52 It's a big adjustment for a lot of the
2:20:53 professional players. You know, every
2:20:55 day they got to grind and grind to try
2:20:56 to get to the next level. And they're
2:20:58 competing against their teammates on how
2:21:00 they go. Here we are, we're all in this
2:21:01 together. And that's what's great. Right
2:21:02 now after the show, all the players,
2:21:04 both teams, are going to go out, meet
2:21:05 the fans. We're all going to have dinner
2:21:07 together. And it's just they compete on
2:21:08 the field, but we're in this together to
2:21:10 put on a great show. And the guys are
2:21:12 playing better because of it.
2:21:13 >> The competition, obviously a big
2:21:15 signature this year. That game almost
2:21:17 went down to the wire. It could have
2:21:18 gone either way. And it was walk-off
2:21:20 fashion the night before. How much fun
2:21:22 is it to see this league get as
2:21:23 competitive but entertain the fans as
2:21:25 it's going?
2:21:25 >> Well, it's great. I mean, it's a great
2:21:26 start. I mean, we still got a lot of
2:21:27 work today. A lot of work to do. And you
2:21:29 know, I I think the the one less hour of
2:21:32 sleep affected a little bit today. I
2:21:34 think, you know, obviously the guys know
2:21:35 that we can we can get better. And and
2:21:37 so I think it's just the the starting
2:21:39 point. But when you have great moments
2:21:40 like a golden batter home run to to tie
2:21:42 the game and you have great, you know, I
2:21:44 mean, this game was out of hand. And
2:21:46 then it came back and literally tying
2:21:47 run is on first base. That's what the
2:21:49 beauty of Banana Ball. No matter what,
2:21:51 there's no such thing as really a
2:21:52 blowout. You can always be in it. And uh
2:21:54 they were all watching Equalizer point
2:21:56 and that almost came down to it at the
2:21:57 end. And so that's what I love about
2:21:58 this game. And and remember, a lot of
2:22:00 these guys were just learning. We're
2:22:01 brand new. So many new players, 65-plus
2:22:04 brand new players to banana ball this
2:22:05 year. Uh and we're only a few games in,
2:22:07 so I can't wait to see where we are in a
2:22:08 few weeks, in a few months.
2:22:09 >> Whether there's a football stadium or
2:22:11 stadium like this, the energy was high.
2:22:13 What's it like to see that energy in the
2:22:14 fans be electrified by the play here on
2:22:16 the field?
2:22:17 >> I mean, it's great. Whether we're at a
2:22:18 5,000-seat stadium or, you know, next
2:22:19 week at the Superdome, 75,000 fans. I
2:22:22 mean, it's great. I mean, you look all
2:22:23 around, every single stadium's full. All
2:22:25 the seats are full. They're here early,
2:22:27 in hours hours before the game, and they
2:22:29 stay till the end. And that's what's
2:22:30 great about this game and great about
2:22:32 the fans, that they they really stay
2:22:33 here and they support cuz you never know
2:22:35 what's going to happen and you may miss
2:22:36 something if you leave early. And that's
2:22:38 what's fun to watch.
2:22:39 >> That's why a lot of us stay here. Jesse
2:22:40 says it all the time, we're still in the
2:22:41 first inning. But AJ, Brett, back to
2:22:43 you.
2:22:46 >> Jesse Cole put it perfectly. When you
2:22:48 have fun,
2:22:50 the good play comes. And I'll tell you
2:22:51 what, there's no team having more fun
2:22:53 than Loco Beach right now. Two and one.
2:22:56 We're going Loco, baby. Beach to you.
2:23:01 >> That's it. You don't have a question for
2:23:02 me. SURE.
2:23:04 >> THE TEXAS TAILGATERS fan returning here
2:23:05 to Frisco, that's a special spot. You
2:23:07 know, split it last year, one and one.
2:23:09 And and another special weekend again
2:23:11 this weekend. I think Jesse put it so
2:23:12 eloquently about our game today. I mean,
2:23:15 man, Loco Beach dominated. I mean, they
2:23:18 absolutely dominated the game today. But
2:23:20 you still had the game-tying run and the
2:23:22 go-ahead run {slash} point at the plate
2:23:24 there during the final out. It was
2:23:26 special stuff. You seen Zach Smith come
2:23:28 on, a guy from Abilene Texas, played at
2:23:30 Abilene Christian, coached at Abilene
2:23:32 Christian, family lineage there, come on
2:23:34 and and record the final out there for
2:23:36 Loco Beach. Special moment for him,
2:23:38 special moment for both brands this
2:23:40 weekend. You know, FSU with banana ball
2:23:41 kickoff special. We talked about it,
2:23:43 man. It's something that's been in the
2:23:44 works. Our team president Jared Orton's
2:23:45 had in the works for years.
2:23:48 But this weekend, the fact that our
2:23:50 sport has been able to prove that we can
2:23:52 put on three successful shows across
2:23:55 this great country. We're going to
2:23:56 continue to do that the whole year.
2:23:58 Forget in between the lines. Forget
2:23:59 coconuts. Forget tailgaters. Forget
2:24:01 bananas. Forget party animals. Forget
2:24:03 clowns. Forget firefighters. What our
2:24:06 sport, what our organization is able to
2:24:08 do right now,
2:24:09 bar none, to anybody else in this
2:24:11 country. That's what I'm most special
2:24:13 about this weekend, A.J. Swaitek. I am
2:24:15 proud to be a part of Banana Ball this
2:24:17 weekend. Also proud to be a part of
2:24:19 these Texas Tailgaters, and excited to
2:24:20 have the head around Rock next weekend.
2:24:22 >> That's the beauty of Banana Ball. It has
2:24:24 been an honor sharing the booth with
2:24:25 someone that I consider a good friend,
2:24:27 Bret Loftis. So, for our amazing
2:24:29 production crew that's working on site
2:24:31 here in Frisco, Texas, I wish I had the
2:24:34 time to say everyone by name, but we've
2:24:36 got to go catch a wave, and we've got a
2:24:37 luau to get to. Go Loco, baby. That's a
2:24:40 Coconuts win.
2:24:42 Gator up.
2:26:29 >> Mhm.
